I just realized that not only is this the second time in a row I've been hyperfixated on musical piece of media that Stephanie Beatriz was in, but this is also the second hyperfixation in a row where a male character that shows neurodivergent traits is woobified to death by their respective fandom but a female character that shows neurodivergent traits is heavily criticized or even demonized in some cases. Some of y’all about to be real mad at me but. Of all the objectively bad/badly written characters on 911 Taylor is the only one who I actually despise 😭 I just can’t stand her personality and the way she repeatedly took advantage of and exploited buck and the rest of the 118 to further her own career. I love when female characters are driven and prioritize themselves but there’s a line between that and being downright selfish and treating the people around u badly and she crosses that line at every turn.

just constantly thinking about percy telling vex that he’d like to think they’re all better than they think they are (except her brother, of course) . constantly thinking about when vex tells percy he’s a good man and he gets awkward and flustered and returns that she’s a good woman and when she gets as awkward and flustered he goes “see. it’s not very nice is it.” percy shouting to ripley that he forgives her and vex carves forgive into the wood of her bow. vex tells percy to take off his mask and percy comes across vex in tears and scrubbing at her armour. god. the campaign starts and percy is making arrows as flirting and getting kisses in return and the campaign ends and exhausted and knowing it won’t be a want that will be fulfilled percy admits he never wants to make another weapon and vex equally exhausted affirms that he’ll never Have to. and god . god . opposites attract is great or whatever but the deliciousness of dynamics where the characters hold up a mirror to one another where they get to shed the burden of self and see someone Like Them as someone good or capable of being better and Falling In Love. and that love being a pathway to them coming to grips with their own image and their own capacity to be better. and that the fact that the person they fall for being someone so Familiar means that they see through each other’s shit. that percy sees that vex has fallen into the trap of Nobility tricking people into thinking that makes them inherently better and giving her the only whitestone title someone has to earn beyond selection or marriage or birth. that vex sees percy forgive ripley and discusses the importance of that choice but reminds him that it’s just as important that he forgive himself.

How would you say Tage and canon Sabo's personality differ?

I think the main point they differ on is that canon sabo knows who he is even after his amnesia, because the revolutionary army gave him so much motivation and direction, whereas tage doesn’t have a supportive community or any direction to point his anger and trauma at after waking up without his memories so he becomes a lot more directionless.

I think the reason why sabo looks like a noble in canon despite a very pronounced dislike for nobles is that he uses his history as a noble to propel his motivations as a revolutionary. I think dragon would have told sabo from meeting him before that Sabo was a noble, and from that, canon Sabo regained that strong hatred against the nobles and willingness to fight against them. Tage has none of that. Since he’s been along for so long, he fights primarily for his survival, and so he focuses a bit more than canon sabo on appearance and deception. He’s more cynical of the whole world as opposed to just nobles, and is more willing to fight anybody who crosses him specifically.

I don’t think they’re very different on the surface— canon sabo and Tage both do things independently and at their own pace and have the capacity to go absolutely feral but present a demeanor of calm confidence and strength to the people around them.
