SCOTT PILGRIM SELF INSERT!! (AGAIN)

this is a redesign/redraw/rehaul of my old SP self insert from almost a year ago now! :3 hopefully some people will (still) be interested in them,, .. LOOK BELOW FOR MORE INFO ON THEM!! | \/ things to know about Charlie Cobweb: they/he/she/any pronouns, they have complicated feelings about gender still. - personally wise; VERY awkward, accidently blunt, impatient, kinda edgy, tone deaf, emotional, misunderstood often, depressed, gets heated easily, sassy, sarcastic, cant take most things seriously. - in a band called Atomic Robot Army as the guitarist. With Max ((friends oc/insert)) as the bassist, and Scout/Jeremy as the drummer. ((yeah, we put the guy from TF2 into SP..)) - also roommates with Max and Jeremy. - Max, Jeremy, and Charlie are all from America, and lived in the same area, yet went to Canada to try and 'tour around the world' as a band, but they ended up giving up and just staying in Canada in an apartment together. - the Atomic Robot Army band was started when Max, Jeremy, and Charlie were in highschool together, and Charlie suggested they start a band randomly, so they decided why not. Max came up with the band name. - very into Sci-fi and tech, coding useless things is a pastime of his. - if you want a movie, album, or show pirated, then shes your guy. just ask for it and she'll have it on a DVD or CD for you somehow, dont question his ways. - keen music lover, you name it they've listened to it. not a single genre that they HAVENT heard. (unless you're an even bigger music lover, then thats impressive.) - they also enjoy keeping simple little plants a lot, only indoor though. You'll have to threaten him if you want him to go outside and do yardwork of all things. - uses their electric guitar to fight (patches up their guitar and apologizes to it as if it was a person after.) - possibly romantically attracted to his guitar, she wont confirm this nor deny it. - he paints his nails often, he thinks its pretty fun wearing a different color very few days, though it gets chipped easily. - one sided hatred towards Scott Pilgrim, dont let Charlie near him or they will JUMP at him. - friends with Matthew Patel (also has a crush on him), Roxie Richter, Julie Powers, Stephen Stills, and Other Scott. - has electric powers. Purely emotion driven though, if she feels any emotion intensely then her powers start acting up, this makes them very hard to control sometimes. - he does weed but a pretty limited amount, mostly uses it if they're stressed or it just feels like a good time. They've also offered weed to Stephen a few times.

GOD where do I even start its beautiful its wonderful its emotional i love it so much

Ill try not to copy my intermission thoughts too much (if you havent seen those here they are)

Ok lets talk about the history of it. A quick google search says its based on a strike in 1899, and Roosevelt ran for presidency in 1901, so we'll just say the musical takes place in 1899 too (correct me if theres a different confirmed time).

During this time, work conditions are absolute shit, monopolies and trusts are on the rise, and the concept of a union has recently emerged. I really didnt need to say much of this bc its apparent in the musical, but i love historically accurate stuff so deal with it /lh

And in the musical we see the beginnings of Roosevelt's trust-busting and ideas of social equality that he acts on during his presidency (it also kinda ties into his environmentalism stuff a bit too!)

And after reading up a bit on the strike the musical was based on, a lot of the effects of the strike in the musical were historically accurate too! the newsboys could sell back papers they werent able to sell on the streets, but the price was unfortunately not yet lowered. (also, the names of the publishers in the show are historically accurate as well!!! makes my little history brain happy :DDD )

SO whats the point of all of my rambling here?

people make historical art all of the time. we see it in musicals like Annie, Hamilton, and so so many more. obviously this goes beyond musicals here, but since newsies is a musical ill try to stay with that topic.

anyway, we learn about history to learn from it. we see these past issues that our previous generations struggled with, in these art forms as to be easily digestible, and we discover their solutions. we get to see the humanity behind the issues and the conflicts they faced to overcome them. and ofc its not the only reason, but one reason these stories are told with art is to bring attention to them. people are way more likely to listen to music than study a historical textbook. so, they make it entertaining. they make relatable and lovable characters. they make people care about the show and subsequently the issue itself. all of this is to explain how and why things that happened in history are bad as to never repeat them again.

We see these topics of worker mistreatment, corrupt businesses, child labor, gender/sex inequality, and the class separation all brought to the spotlight in this show, and it does a damn good job of showing the pain and suffering they cause. the story of this show is incredible and so very important to learn about.

i think the biggest change i felt towards a character was Davey

he grew on me soooooo much his character growth is everything to me

he went from trying to stay out of their business to teaching them what a union was to helping them start it to running it himself when jack ran off to convincing jack to come back when times got tough he is sooo important to the story

and to me. hes important to me <3

OH AND RACE

i saw people mention the name before but i didnt know which he was until they addressed him directly I LOVE THAT GUYYY

especially in king of new york hes got such a big personality what a silly guy

OK now for the guy the silly the mc jack

At the beginning he is entirely driven by both his love for his family and ofc his dream of living in Santa Fe, but atm hes just trying to get by so hes more focused on the newsies. but a boy can dream

then he gets all caught up in the strike business and only focuses on that for a while bc he wants to protect his boys

then shit goes south. they get essentially jumped, and crutchie gets hurt and arrested.

and he thinks, what was it all for? if he couldnt protect his brother (never living that down btw), whats the point of even trying to strike anymore

so he changes his focus back to santa fe. the one thing hes still got going for him.

and he gets confronted by katherine, les, and davey, and they knock some sense into him. stopping the strike isnt going to take away any of the harm done. the danger is expected, theres no way any of this could go down without some form of a casualty. so why not try to do something about it. the only way to make this situation better is to get back in the game and keep pushing for change.

and ofc the thing with katherine which ill talk abt a bit more later

in all of this, something in him changes. he dreamed of santa fe, a simpler life, one where he didnt have to worry about having to afford food and clothing for the next day.

but what he never considered was the loneliness. sure, he offered to bring crutchie and katherine with him, but hed be leaving behind so many more. and thats when he realized he never needed to get out, he just needed things to change a bit. and they did! because of the strike, living became so much more affordable. no it wasnt perfect, but it was enough to be safe and secure, just like he wanted. and he had his family beside him the whole time.

ill admit that before i sat and thought about it for a while, this ending was really unsatisfactory to me. i mean we got how many santa fe reprises? all for naught?

but in reality, santa fe would never be enough for him. hes just so used to this life surrounded by the people he cares most about and doing everything in his power to protect him, hed just be so bored, so understimulated, and hed just continue to yearn for more. that path of wanting would never come to a conclusion and hed live his life never truly being happy. so i really do thing he made the right choice in staying, because new york became his santa fe. he didnt need to seek it out, it came to him.

Ok now with him and katherine

ill start by saying i do really adore them. i feel like a lot of what im about to say might seem like i think otherwise, but i truly do think theyre very sweet

ok so every interaction of theirs in act one was. very uncomfortable to say the least. he honestly seemed really predatory at times and it just really felt like an old-timey romance where the girl doesnt know her worth so she flocks to any guy that shows interest in hr bc she thinks its her only purpose

now obviously that is NOT the truth, those were just my first impressions. Katherine is extremely capable of taking care of herself and deciding what is and isnt right for her, she likes jack purely because she can and does. she knows her worth and just likes him bc she likes him, no strings attached

i will say the first kiss kinda caught me off guard lmao. like i knew they were gonna be a thing but that is NOT how i expected that to go down. its likely just bc of my aroace-ness but i saw no sign of them actually getting together prior to that, aside from them being the main man and leading lady in the show so ofc they have to be together. i mean ig her reaction to him drawing her was a bit of a hint but still. ok maybe its just bc im demi. hadnt thought abt that until now. damn. is this a normal thing? maybe it is. maybe im being too harsh. idk lmao

anyway ill admit the kiss was successful in getting his attention and getting him to listen to her so ill give it that lmaoo but tbh i did tune a bit of their song out bc it started to make me a bit uncomfy but i did liste back to it later on. they really seem to have a healthy relationship where they both care about the other and know the other is strong enough on their own, they just both want to be a part of the other's life. its really sweet! theyre so supportive of each other!!! green flags all around!!!

the bit with him learning shes pulitzers daughter was really interesting to me. at first she tries to talk to him but he kinda brushes her off, but from then on he just kinda has full faith in her? i mean yeah he gets upset about it bc he thinks she lied to him, but i dont think he thought she had any ill intentions. that was a complicated sentence lmaoo damn. i think he really understood that she wanted to help, he was just caught up in a lot of Feelings and was afraid that she wasnt trustworthy despite him still trusting her. and then he let her explain and from then on they fully support the other and trust each other immensely

so yeah first impressions were a bit iffy but i think theyre very sweet <333

OK GOD CAN I GUSH ABOUT THE STAGE DESIGN FOR A BIT???? GAHHH

i mean the moving stairs and scaffolding arent new. i know this. but just the way they frame scenes with the scaffolding is stunning. the chase scenes??? dude. enthralling. the bits where theyre in the city and they have people just up their acting like civilians? SO cool. makes it incredibly more realistic and believable. and the way they projected images onto the curtain-like things they pulled down was extremely creative!!! like in theory its such a simple design. it was literally nothing more than the scaffolding and stairs, and a few tables and wagons and such in certain areas. but they did SO much with it it was hard to believe it took place on a stage. ofc the filming helps with that but still. the start felt like it was on the roof of the building bc of a combination of the lighting and the use of just one of the scaffolding pieces. and when theyre in buildings, the wall of scaffolding works really well as a backdrop!!! and i already talked about the city street scenes, it fits perfectly. god its so inspiring id love to be behind something like that one day

OK AND THE CHOREO??? the sheer ENDURANCE of these people HOLY I COULD NEVER. THE FLEXIBILITY? THEYRE ALL LITERAL GYMNASTS WTF ARE THESE FLIPS AND HANDSTANDS IM SORRY???? holy shit its all SOSOSO impressive

Santa Fe really reminds me of Maybe from Annie, both music-wise and lyric wise. i mean theyre both "i want" songs so it makes sense but i feel like they sound kinda similar too. honestly a lot of the music sounds like Annie, but maybe its just the types of instruments used and thats just how musicals sounded when they were made. i think they were made about the same time. *checks spotify* ok well the newsies i listen to was produced like 40 years after Annie so maybe that just a stylistic choice-

So you guys know i (try to) post daily doodles, and i have said before that i draw for about 2-3 hrs every night. BUT that also means i dont post about like 80-90% of the drawings i do each night. Today though, i've been thinking about A*I and my own relationship with drawing, and how utterly baffled i am that anyone would want to use it to like...draw for them..and how the concept that *tell a computer what art to do so i dont have to do it* is alien to me. So here's ALL the drawings i did tonight. The bottom one is the last one i did and the one i would normally post. And i want to talk about A*I without talking about good or bad end product. Because i dont care if im making the shittiest art in the universe - i still wouldn't use A*I. Not even as a ‘tool’.

If you've been around here for a while you know i have a love/hate relationship with my art. I write too, but writing doesnt make me so frustrated and angry that i want to throw my computer out a second story window. HOWEVER. There is a huge caveat to that anger.

It happens after.

You could look at it a little like hockey. Every game is fresh, right? I mean god knows the US made an entire movie about how every game is a new game and the odds could always fall in your favor no matter how stacked against you. So every drawing i go into it excited - like LOOK at that reference material, its gorgeous. The gesture is beautiful, the post is interesting, there is something about it that is just begging to be drawn. But then say you hit intermission in the hockey game and the opposing team scored a few points. And i step back and look at the drawing and realize i started to go wrong somewhere along the way. But its too late now, you gotta commit and keep going. And you do but somehow the final score is STILL 6 to 0 and thats when i want to flush all my art down the toilet and never look at it again. But its okay because the next drawing is going to start with a blank canvas and who cares what happened last time.

Ok maybe a bad example.

The product is never really what drives me to draw - i mean, sure i do like it a heck of a lot better when i have something /anything/ that i can post to show that im sticking with my everyday doodle. But its not a requirement to doodling. The process of drawing is always fun. Its when i come out of it and look at the stupid thing that im like ‘well fuck i fucked that one up again didnt i’, and THEN i get annoyed lol.

I dont sit there consumed with frustration over ‘gee i dont know what to draw’. This is never an issue. I HAVE TOO MUCH TO DRAW. Sometimes i avoid certain gifs/photos because in the back of my mind im like ‘yeah no, i havent leveled up that far yet, i cant do that justice’. But i dont want to admit the sheer number of images of geno alone i have saved. I think my biggest reference folder is still aoki and that has over two thousand screenshots - i dont think anyone will ever surpass that LOL. I have a never ending supply of practice art to be done.

The frustration comes when i have an image in my head and i want to get it down on paper so-to-speak (computer whatever). So - when im NOT using reference (or at least not an exact one) and am making an ‘illustration’ (ish). But again, the process isn't the issue. I like the act of drawing, i like the image in my head slowly taking shape, i like how vividly i can see it. Yall know how obsessed i am with personality - that's not just part of the drawing, that IS the drawing. And each deicision in the illustration is defined by the personality/character.

A computer can't fucking do this.

Could i maybe tell a computer ‘draw geno in the shower’. Sure. And it probably could. And if i didnt care about the process - if all i wanted was a very good drawing of geno in the shower....that probably would be fine. Maybe great even. Maybe it would be the best damn drawing of geno in the shower ever. And then i'd feel like shit because a machine is producing art that is more valuable to other people than mine ever will be. But holy fucking shit that ruins the entire POINT of drawing???? Why would you do that?

I mean, im sure yall can infer the entire point of the act of drawing geno in the shower. He's hot, he's wet. ANYWAY.

In my opinion, a person who wants the end product and doesn't care about the process of getting there....that person is not an artist. That person is someone who enjoys art, and probably thinks they have a lot of good ideas to make into art, but who doesn't feel that pull to make art themselves. They just want to buy art. And they want it cheap. And mindless computers being trained in seconds on the decades of creativity and hard work of art masters is a heck of a lot cheaper than a human.

And the hardest part of all this for me is how worthless this makes me feel - nobody wants you, they want that automatic button. Kinda like my dad that way (haha)

Hello there O Wizard mine! If i can ask, would you give some thoughts on a Quirk i've had sitting in my drafts for a year or so? I havent been back in the mha fandom for awhile, so i wanted some input now that i'm getting back into the swing of things, and i'm thinking of giving this Quirk to a rec student character

Polygon is an Emitter type Quirk, giving the user the ability to fabricate simple constructs via drawing out a 2-dimensional shapes using their finger. These constructs, also dubbed "Polygons" by the User, are able to be telekinetically controlled by the user, able to levitate and fly about at will in a radius of about 8 meters or so. Additionally, these Polygons are naturally very sharp, due to being very thin, and durable enough to take a hit or a projectile without breaking, while also being able to be layered together with other Polygons to increase their defensive properties. Finally, as an addendum, going over the physical properties of the Polygons they are light blue where the user has drawn them, with the inside of their boundaries a transparent blue, like a piece of stained glass. Additionally, they give off an odd tingling sensation when skin makes contact with them.

To go over the drawbacks of Polygon, there are three notable flaws to work around. The Polygons, if they are large enough to carry a person, can only really carry around the weight of an average adult man, about 200 lbs. Additionally, the user can only summon around 30 Polygons that are actively flying around and doing things at once, the user can't handle multitasking more than 30 different Polygons at once. Finally, the user is limited in sides a Polygon can have, with the minimum of 3 sides and a maximum of 12 sides.

I think there is something in the idea, but it could use some revision. The big issue is how much freedom the user is given, both in how they can shape the polygons and how much they can do with the polygons. Even if they are limited to two dimensional shapes, being able to draw and combine them like that is honestly amazing and could hold up the entire premise of a Quirk in of itself even if it's limits were terrible. And it's capable of picking up and moving people, can be used as structures and defenses, and they can be used to cut into people. And it's not like it's that limited either, as thirty is a pretty high number for a Quirk that can do all of that. I would suggestion trimming down on some of features of the ability for a more focused power. Just take the main applications you like and try to make them the focus. You want it to be more combat focused? Drop the weight limit and make them more fragile, acting like flying glass shards. You want it to be more utility focused? Keep it to the user having them as slow moving platforms and get rid of the sharp edges. Better yet, just make them about drawing the polygons, but make them super weak, making the benefit the sheer variety the user has in their drawings.

opens up a powerpoint presentation. ok ko is in my opinion overall a very good show. its incredibly funny, charming, and...sometimes well written story wise. unfortunately it has a very very big failing in a very very big plot point

tko himself is fine. i have no issues with his CHARACTER. i take issue with how his character is treated. tko is, by himself, a child with anger issues, he reacts very poorly to being agitated but like...

he has to be agitated first.

there is not a single example before season 3 where tko like, wrecks shit or whatever without being provoked, in his debut for example, hes just doing his job (albeit begrudgingly) before enid and rad provoke him, and he starts fighting them

however, the show always seems to act like tko is in the wrong, treats him like a villain despite his mostly heroic acts, is he PERFECT? no!! hes a fucking kid with anger issues!! he was locked inside a mind cage!! he doesnt know how to deal with things so he hits them!!! he just. happens to be able to hit things very very hard and with lightning bolts.

another example is the season 1 finale, youre in control. in yic tko. literally doesnt do anything wrong. like im not joking.

in yic tko gets let out to fight boxman jr and like...he does that. he throws boxman jr back to boxmore and then chases him over to boxmore. he does not attack a single hero in this episode. he does not do any damage to the plaza. the worst thing he does in this episode is put ko back in the cage. yet its STILL treated like hes doing something wrong???

another thing about tko. tko wants freedom. he says this outright. being locked inside a literal cage will do that to ya. i want to make sure real quick that we're on the same page here that locking a 6-11 year old boy inside a cage is bad no matter how badly he is at managing his anger issues right. right. okay. tko deserved to be uncaged. and he WAS. except...

when he gets out of the cage in youre in control. thats great and all but...his next appearance, tkos house, hes still upset. he still wants his freedom. its just that instead of being locked in a cage hes locked in a (pretty cool honestly) house. it doesnt matter how nice you make an enclosure, sometimes itll just never work for the animal. and thats what tko is like, he wants out, he wants control over the body, which like. is fucking fair?? im someone who REALLY understands the importance of going outside often, tko really deserves to be allowed outside their headspace. its good for you.

but tko DOESNT. GET THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he shows up. LITERALLY TWICE in season 2 (thats 40 episodes!) and NEITHER of his appearances (tkos house, dark plaza) does he even get to use the body on his own!! its always fused as pko!! he doesnt get a turn!!

and then when season three starts. uh. glances at tko rules. Yeah. The Subconscious. he gets trapped in a dark empty void for [checks notes] about two weeks. minimum.

what im getting at here. is that tko never really left that cage.

okay. im gonna touch on one more tko thing. the FUCKING finale. [furious]

quick recap, in the finale ko and tko have a plot twist moment where "oh hey! ko and tko are the same person actually! and now theyve accepted eachother as the same person and can be happy! hooray!" except like. mko (finale fusion) is just ko

like seriously hes JUST ko. his design? leaning towards kos features. his personality? LITERALLY just ko theres not a hint of tko there. its not the two of them "accepting eachother" or whatever its. its the writers killing off tko.

as well as like. a guy i know pointed this out and i cannot fucking get over it. if they were just going to ""fuse the two"" in the end then WHY. in GODS NAME. is tkos LITERAL FIRST LINE OF DIALOGUE.

Hiii, wanted to answer this in te comments but didnt know that tumblr doesnt let you write long comments soooo, i’ll share you here my thoughts about your last post.

I feel like in new friendships we do take things slow at the beginning as a protective mechanism for ourselves because even if you are interested in the other person, they may not feel the same way about you and it is better to start things slow and not to rush them out. Simple and short conversations to now if you are compatible and stuff. Thats how i think friendships go most of the time. Ofc it may not be necessary that way and it would work out in a matter of a day or so. I have 2 friends that met each other at college in the first day of the semester and somehow found out they had a lot in common and they clicked sooo well, they started being friends that day and currently they are still best friends. It’s insane…hasnt happened to me yet hahaha.

In the dating department i’m not sure because i havent dated anyone lol so take my opinions with a pinch of salt. But maybe that feeling of acting hard to get and showing desinterest to a potential partner actually makes the person more invested in knowing you. Like, i don’t really get the psychology behind it but maybe people that are already interested get intrigued enough to keep trying to know the person that is acting aloof. And i do think that taking things slow and chatting casually is kind of the same for friendships. You start slow to test the waters first, make sure if you are compatible etc.

But that thing about showing interest and people stop talking to you because of that…idk it might happen because it feels like they are too desperate? or maybe like they want something else? That intensity may be scary but i do think it depends on the situation and the people involved. Still, generally, if we dont focus on things like feeling afraid of intimacy and stuff, most people would want to be a little more hard to get to not seem like…keen and desperate? And that way the other person can feel like it wants to meet you more, like cracking a code. If it’s too difficult and you are not that interested to begin with, you probably will walk away, and if you are interested, it may awake your curiosity and interest to keep going.

About what you say in yours tags, i believe you have to give yourself credit for trying to be friends with people. When we are younger we may just stick around people because of proximity and because we are young and tend to be more friendly(?? like, you are friends with your neighbours because they live close and you go out and play, and then you are friends at school because you see each other everyday and are still developing your personality and you are all learning together and probably you go with the flow more easily than when you are an adult. You may start working with people with widly different interests than you and people have more defined personalities and have lost their childlike-way of interacting with people. We are more careful about it maybe. And yes, compared to when you were in school, you naturaly interact with less people regularly and it is more difficult to meet people compatible enough to be friends. Unless you go out frequently to meet new people (personally still struggling with that hahaha).

Anyways, this was an interesting way to start my day: actually using my brain. Did i make sense? Hopefully yes ajdksk

I think you're hitting all the points I was thinking too! Slow and steady is probably the most natural and comfortable way to approach any kind of relationship, unless you find that kind of instant connection like your friends had!

It's all a very interesting dynamic/phenomenon for sure. I found some articles talking about how being too 'nice'/'open' can make people feel like you have ulterior motives, because why else would someone be so nice to us? Or, like you said, it's read as desperation, because apparently people are only openly interested and invested when they have no other options -> and if they have no other options, there must be something wrong with them.

I remember being like 5 years old and this other kid really really wanted to be my friend for some reason, and I just wanted nothing to do with them? It went so far that the kid told the teachers that I wasn't playing with them and tried to have it happen that way :'C Looking back I think I was also being a lil asshole lmao, but I also remember feeling uncomfortable with the way the kid just wouldn't leave me alone and would just follow me around when I clearly wasn't interested. So maybe it's also some natural reaction on some level?? Because I don't think I was rejecting the other kid to be malicious. I don't know, we were really young though, so I don't know how that'd apply later in life with adults' social skills.

It's so fascinating, because there definitely are personalities and times when a person just is genuinely... a nice person? genuinely interested in us? no ulterior motives but being friendly and wanting to get to know us? There's also a plenty of reasons why people might not have friends currently, and it doesn't mean there's something wrong with them. As someone who had to build a new social cycle as an adult, this assumption always made me feel some sort of way lol. Like, people move cities/countries/jobs? People have health issues? People realise the friend circle they had wasn't a good fit? I find it sad that wanting to have (new) friends/not having friends is so easily labelled desperate or even a red flag (which it can be! but I think it should be checked case by case basis), but then again, I think that's more down to the way the person looking for friends goes about it?

These articles I found were from a romantic relationship perspective btw, but I think it probably applies to friendships too.

will i ever get over the bad buddy rooftop kiss?

short answer : no

long answer : after 30 consecutive days where i watched at least 2 bad buddy episodes per day i had decided to take a break for today, and a few more days to refresh my brain. but the forces that be had other plans cos idek from where i saw a snippet of their rooftop convo and i had to go back and watch episode 5 3/4 and 4/4 again and to no one's surprise i keep finding more and more things to appreciate about that episode.

this post isn't to analyze anything from that episode as people far more intelligent, eloquent and observant than me have done before 100 times of before.

i just wanted to do a (in awe) rant of the episode 5 of bad buddy. a true masterclass in story telling, directing, acting and emoting and ofc how can i forget using music as a narrative tool, especially in the scene where pran performs the song and pat now listens to it in the full context of his own feelings and then the patpran wai scene and most importantly in the rooftop scene where the music plays such an important role in building and then maintaining that tension!!

it's such an excellent piece of work because i've watched this already 10 times at least and i literally discovered the show just a month ago. i already know how everything is going to end. i literally just rewatched ep 11 and 12 yesterday. i know its all building upto something far more happy than sad in the end. AND YET.

And yet my heart was in my throat, my eyes were glued to their faces and their micro expressions, i was still in awe at their performance, at the words exchanged both audible and not, and the music behind adding to the' edge of the seat clutching of pillow' experience then the kiss happens and im as shook as the day i saw it.

I genuinely cannot remember the last time or if ever i had an experience of rewatching a (romantic) scene and it's impact gets reinforced and amplified each time i watch it in the way the bad buddy rooftop scene has done it.

that too the fact that i haven't given my brain time to forget the sheen of it, the brilliance of it, the impact of it, the fact that the kiss is a microcosm of their whole story, but even without all of that, that kiss by itself was to say the very least life changing.

my brain hasn't forgotten any of that. i havent allowed it to forget. so then me watching it again so close should not be having this effect on it. and yet.

and i just know that if i hit the replay button again this very instant i will feel all of those emotions all over again. that just boggles my mind, cos what is the explanation for it. logically i should be not this into it each time i watch it. why is hedonistic adaptation not doing its thing? it really do be making no sense to me. i guess this is once again a testament to how great of a show it is, how even beyond all the ingredients we can point out, the actors, the director, the writing , music everything, there has to be some unexplainable magic involved. the kind of magic that i highly doubt can be replicated anywhere. the kinda magic that makes even evolutionary responses bend to its will. solid stuff. 12/10 would recommend.

To the Panner! They're an old powerful immortal like I said before, and very silly :3 they have caused plenty of troubles before and have 0 morals basically. Everything they do is to entertain them, so in the past people have figured a way to basically seal them away. Panna was like kay. And proceed to have a fat fucking nap through the decades unless someone break their seal, and after a while they figure to break it themselves, but still decide to play along lol.

So when panna first met Chris and Eric, they truly has been a well-known established scientist for a while and truly have been sent by the international peace coorporations. They had fun with Chris and Eric, got weary by the confrontation and yelled at both during the confrontation also, and storm off.

Then gun guy comes and immediately snatch them up and try to make them a damsel in distress to lure in chris and eric, but Panna casually broke their chains, walked around the room and criticize Gunguys choice in evil machinery and science stuffs ("seriously dude?! Get on with the science times… the they don't make good villians these day anymore do they?..) Gunguy was pissed af at first but then was like “huh wait, you don't care about Chris or Eric anymore? Can you join my evil conpany?" and Panna nodded 'Not like I have anything else better to do!"

And that's how gunguy poach Panna basically lol. At first, Panna put up the facade they were brainwashed by gunguy, but then they reveal their true intentions: they were simply acting for themselves all along, everything is to entertain their whimsical ways ^_^ "I'm just a guy who wants to have fun, You know that from the start, it's not my fault you assume I have morals is it!”

And so officially they "join" gunguy's side. Gunguy doesn't like them also lol, he thinks they're annoying af and untrustworthy, but Panna is extremely competent and. he figured he could just play along with them for a bit to exchange a massive benefit: scientific knowledge, forbidden old knowledge, not having to mess around in the lab anymore, details to used against Chris and Eric.

And near the end of Gunguy's arc, to really emphasize his point toward Chris and Eric, when Panna protested killing the duo "what's the fun any more if you kill them so soon?!”

in the final beatdown, gunguy when hes almost dead cackled and shouted that they were going to all die anyways, because now he has all the requirements to summon one of the most powerful forces even if he died. and The Force will beat both Chris and Eric's asses. He succeeded in doing the summoning… but nothing step out except for Panna who, because of the summoning, was teleported teleported to the dead guy - a sacrifice, and crawling out covered in blood. “Y-YOU WERE THE RUMORED CHAOS DESTRUCTION?” “Mhmm! Yapper session 2.0 A lot of may or may not know, but I was helper/mod for CSDS for like...almost a year? about a year, I don't know, I enjoyed being helper, it was nice, and fun tbh when you first join. We did game nights, (i know about everyone voice and faces even, not calling anyone ugly though)

Then thats when shit hit the fan, literally, Highland, Roan, Han, Erik ALL left mod team, and it was just shit, leaving Mag..(?) to do everything, and even the mods we did hire, just dipped as well, or didn't do SHIT. So i was just, "oh i know how to do this, i'll ask to be mod!" yeah it was nice for the few weeks, then Elle was just being a cunt at that point. I feel like she was just waiting for her favorites to come back (Highland and Erik) and would not hire ANYONE. so i was stuck doing everything since Mag was AFK a shit ton.

Then most helpers and even mods would get back lash for "hey reports are getting backed up, get to it / no one is catching this / hey lets go through profiles, I just found this" Like cool..do it yourself then? if Elle/Bunn had to comment on it.

My mental health went PSH, and with the photos, can clearly tell, Elle does not give a shit about her "workers" health, and even when this whole thing started, a lot of other helpers, past mods, even said the same thing, i still keep in touch with some, and its always talk about Elle being just shit owner, everyone loves Bunn, even I, at least she showed some kindness when she knew I was acting off. some other stuff im working on is. yes, Another fic but this time its a pjsekai one, abt mafuyu realizing she's transmasc (uses she/he/they) and that being like. an act of rebellion against his mom in a way, like not catering to her idea of them and finding out and reclaiming her agency/identity. and mizuki helps him bc they're also trans (specifically transfem) but deals w their own issues as they havent rlly told the rest of niigo that yet. the last thing is a poem abt my issues <3 bc all my poems r abt that, usually mental health and transness, or both. it also has like. theatre/play motifs which is funny bc im not even a theatre kid but yk. anyway i'd like to write abt aromanticism or aplatonicism poem-wise someday as ive been thinking a lot abt that lately

I recommend TORG Eternity or any of the 2D20 system games. Ive personally played torg for about 4 years now and its by far my favorite system ever and it sucks its not more well known given just how unique it is and how diverse you can have your party without any need for homebrew or such.

I havent played much of the 2d20 system of games but my fiance and his gamer group absolutely swear by it. One of their favs and multiple properties have been covered by it including Alien and Fallout.

Anyway back to TORG.

All you need are a good amount of d20s and d6s. Its got a really cool card mechanic where each player has a hand of cards they can play any time outside of combat and in combat can only play if theyre in their pool, which you add a card from your hand into each time you act. Cards can do anything from +3 to your final skill total on a check, to "I romance this npc and gain possibilities i can spend on us both" (ill get to possibilities in a sec) to "i find a supply cache" to "i martyr myself to guarantee we succeed something." And a bunch of others too.

You roll a d20 for a skill check, then check your final die roll against a chart handily invluded on most sheets telling you what bonus or minus you get to your skill. And 10s and 20s can result in rolling again for an even higher total up to and beyond 60 (if u hit 60 and someone has a Glory card u get extra bonuses too) and there are also possibilities, of which u start with 3 usually represented at the table by pokerchips just for eases sake. You can spend a possibility to roll another dice and add its result to your other dice(and possibility, and the cards that do the same effect Hero and Drama, always add a min of 10)

Ex: i roll my d20 on a find check. I get a 15. 15 add a bonus of 2. I have a find skill of 9. 9+2 is 11 so thats my final skill check total. Say thats not high enough though and i need at least a 15 total to win. I spent a possibilty, roll an 8. Since its a possibility die roll, its automatically a 10. So that makes my roll total a 25 now, which is a skill bonus of 8. Now my find skill check total is a 17 which is a pass!

The other really really nifty thing about TORG is its cosms. The big meta plot of TORG Eternity is that alternate universes are invading ours and they all have their own sort of metaphysical rules known as Laws that effect stuff like special uses of possibility, unique interactions, how magic or psionics work ect. And each cosm is basically its own genere! The cosms are:

Orrorsh: Victorian england and India, the victorians brought their fucked up shit to india and are doing colonialism. There are vampires and ghosts and werewolves and everything sucks dont go to orrorsh it will kick your ass /jk

Nile Empire: Nazi declares himself god pharaoh. Very pulp novel and comic book. Go punch the Nazis its a good time. You have cool steampunk-ish gadets and superpowers and faith magic (known as miracles)

Living Land: Prehistoric dinopeople called Edinos live with dinosaurs and their faith magic. Sometimes you find really out of nowhere weird shit because one of its cosm laws just sometimes keeps remnants of past cosms theyve invaded. Its fun though. Lotta jungles.

Aysle: High fantasy magic and elves and dwarves and dragons and trolls. The forces of Light and Dark are at war, theres also more viking-esq tribes in some places. Has its own underdark like areas.

Tharkold: Cyberdemons invaded russia. Russian leader nuked the cyberdemons. Since the cyberdemons are very VERY might makes right(one of the world laws is literally Law of Dominance) they allowed the russian leader to keep some power and authority as a sort of respect thing. Cyberware and psionics.

Panpacifica: Cyberpunk/Shadowrun. Genemods and electric samurai and implants and all that good stuff. Haven't got to play a campaign there yet but cant wait to.

Cyberpapacy: Suuuuuper suuuper high tech gamified Catholic church ran by the Cyberpope. Every action is tracked and given a piety score. Cyberware and vr/cyberspace common. Heretics and witches burned.

And finally!

Core Earth: default earth with the exception of burgeoning psionics.

And the best part? Your player character can come from any of these cosms and have unique perks and abilities from them! You dont even gotta be human! You can be an elf, a dwarf, an Edinos, a Cyberdemon, and a couple other species get added by the cosm specific source books!

And there is a prewritten adventure for each cosm that range from "go find these 3 artifacts so we can stop a dragon" to "the pharaoh is trying to make a sun death lazer go stop him" to "we tricked the cyberchurchs systems into thinking youre the secret police go investigate some stuff"

But given the variety you can just make your own shit up!
