Do you have any more headcanons for Mount Rageon Branch or Adopted by Bergens Branch?

In Mount Rageon Branch, Velvet and Veneer are still a lil self absorbed and looking for the easy way out of things. They don't wanna do any hard work, meanwhile Branch is all about hard work and doing things for yourself.

Branch sees them fighting over wanting fame and it reminds him of his brothers, so he makes it his goal to help them realize their dreams AND remain close. Since they'd be training from childhood, they'd have a better shot at learning how to sing thanks to Branch.

I can't decide if they actually do end up good singers but if they do, Branch is their manager and there would be a moment where post BroZone reunion they see Branch managing and have JD flashbacks. Branch doesn't get bad like John did about controlling their image, but the sight of Branch taking charge and giving orders for show prep really reminds them of a less than happy time of their lives.

Branch: Alright guys, we're gonna open with 'Fame' and close with 'Watch Me Work'. No, wait. Open with 'Sweet Dreams' and close with 'Fame'. Now go out there and make Mount Rageous history! Bruce: Clay I hope you're also an EMT because I think I'm having a heart attack. Clay: I'm with you bro, this is disturbing to watch.

If they don't go the singing route, Branch helps them discover SOME sort of skill they can make it big with.

They don't call him 'Branch'. Velvet decided his name had to match theirs so they call him 'Vine'. They think it's a funny name since he's always on them 'like a vine'. Branch doesn't really care what they call him as long as they stop rubbing his hair trying to suck out his "singing magic".

When Velvet and Veneer found out about Bergens, her solution was "Just stay with us at all times. I'll hold onto you like the last designer handbag at a flash sale."

If they did encounter a Bergen, Velvet would hit them in the head with her purse that weighs 10 tons.

In Bergen Branch AU, Gristle is ironically the excitable kid while Branch can barely muster any enthusiasm for anything. Some people joke that it's like Gristle's a troll at heart and Branch a Bergen. Gristle doesn't go as apathetic and listless as he does in canon since I believe the catalyst was Gristle Sr telling him nothing would ever make him happy. Since in this AU he was given Branch, he was told that Branch would make him happy, so he still has hope.

When they're older, Branch is a sort of sarcastic adviser to Gristle. Everyone's kind of figured out that even if you can get one over on Gristle, the troll on his shoulder won't be fooled and he does NOT show mercy. Gristle also takes his opinion in pretty high regard about pretty much anything.

Branch also gets pretty comfortable with his concept of mortality and he makes jokes about being eaten by Bergens constantly.

Gristle: I got another letter asking if they can buy and eat you. Branch: At this rate I'd be tempted to tell you accept all of them and watch their faces fall when they realize fifty other Bergens also get a piece. Gristle: Branch. Branch: A peanut sized serving of grey troll. Gristle: Branch. Branch: That'd probably be the one thing that could make a Bergen more miserable than you already are, if that's possible. Gristle: Branch. I'm not selling you to get eaten by fifty different Bergens. Branch: You'd be doing me a mercy and ending my suffering.

Gristle: Branch I need you to help me with the audit. Branch: *lays on his palm* Eat me. Gristle: Later. For now you have to help me. Branch: F***. Branch: Is this how you derive joy? Making trolls do your paperwork? You're the only Bergen in the world who would make me do taxes instead of eating me. Gristle: You complain too much and it ruins my appetite. Branch: Has any troll ever not complained? Do you think on Trollstice we were all jumping for joy? 'Yippie! Death!' Gristle: I dunno, try it next time and we'll see if it works.

This trait scares and unnerves other trolls. Poppy asks him to stop once they befriend Bergens because she's worried they'll take offense and "They're our friends now, not troll-eating monsters. That's in the past."

OMG they were platonic roommates. It’s such a great story about home and friendship and being in that liminal space after failure and not knowing where you fit in now that you’ve fucked up. It’s got some great anachronistic tidbits of the kind you’d find in the witcher books, a ton of incredible Fringilla characterizations, a cat character, and a ton of laugh out loud moments.

I'm considering drawing fanart now, especially since I saw the suggestion of drawing my personal OCs in your fairy au, and I realized.... I have an oc. That I created recently. Like so recently that I haven't even named her yet. And she's already kinda fairy-like??? She's the result of a one-night stand between Leo and a random bird yokai who decided to dump the egg on Leo (it's the accidental baby acquisition trope except its more like you-really-should-have-expected-this-leo baby acquisition XD)

Don't worry though, she's not bird-like enough to want to eat your fairy boys if she met them. She's basically just a feathered turtle who loves shiny things, and I haven't even finalized her design but now I wanna draw her as a fairy haha. I do know her feathers are blue-purple-pink-ish with red streaks, so her colour scheme matches Fairy Leo haha

Hmmmm maybe I should actually put a question here uhh....

You keep hinting at plot points but you've also said you don't plan on making this a comic, so are we ever going to find out what the heck is going on???

And I know the idea of making a whole entire comic can seem overwhelming, but have you considered viewing it as just doodling and practicing? For my own au comic I only have one part drawn so far and it is the first part, but I'm planning to just draw any part of the story at any point in time, just depending on what I feel like. Cuz no one says you have to do it the "normal" way, right? And I like to think of drawing the comic pages as practicing new skills, like learning how to do page layouts and composition better. Aka focus on the journey and not the end goal.

I do actually plan on making this into a comic of sorts! I dunno if I could ever make, like, a long-form webcomic or anything like that-- but I'm definitely planning on doing at *least* a few mini-comics to elaborate on the story! And maybe build my way up to something longer and more fulfilled :D As of now, I'm trying to experiment with different comic styles on my own time so I can try and find something that's quick and easy, but still looks decent. I like the idea of treating it as essentially a glorified doodle page. Honestly, as soon as I try to take any of my stories too seriously, I burn out fast-- so I'm trying to stay pretty chill about this one and just making content whenever I feel like it lol

Yup, I'm totally cool with everyone drawing their OCs as fairies if they want to! It's not like I own the idea or anything lmao. The only caveat is that I have jurisdiction over whether or not something is canon to my particular au. Leo and the rest of the boys are still canonically kids/teenagers to me, and I've been writing/drawing them as kids this entire time, so I won't be including anything/anyone related to one of them having a "one night stand" with somebody. I can't really police what anyone else draws though, so have fun :D

what is aoyuer? is that an acronym for something?

okay so i meant to make a big doc explaining what aoyuer is like months ago but then i started working on different projects and put it on the back burner.. and then i got ill and now i don't have much time to work on stuff at all. but not having the doc sucks and means anything i ever say about it is very confusing. so i'm so sorry anon for using your ask as an excuse to just dump as much aoyuer lore as i can without reasonably spoiling it but also thanks for reminding me that i have a lot of followers here who have never heard of it. a sobering thought

tldr; aoyuer (as of yet untitled empires rewrite) (sorry bree) is my au rewrite of empires smp that aims to connect seasons 1 and 2 as well as after life, new life, and a bunch more inbetween, with a major focus on pixlriffs' story. it also ties up a lot of loose ends and is generally darker and more adult-aimed than the original series. technically that's all you need to know but here's the no spoilers plot rundown for those interested

so aoyuer is built up of ~7 arcs but only 4 of them are like Super important

arc 0: this is just afterlife smp and a ton of early worldbuilding, the crash of the great stags, etc; what's most important from this is that oli exists and has for thousands of years, probably

arc 1: empires season 1! set in the 1500s, the world is going through a sort of renaissance period with massive technological advancements. pixlriffs the copper king (cprk) is working a boring little library job and spending most of his time kicking himself and being mad he hasn't done anything with his life (he is only like 30 but the idea of feeling old and unaccomplished even when you're young is a major theme for arc 1). enter fwhip! who is his annoying ex-roommate ex-bestie ex-boyfriend from university that left him on pretty bad terms. he has a way more accomplished job and as part of that he has been allowed to head The Empires Project which is a major journey intended to further some distant colonies while also investigating the land they're on. the land has some weiiird properties which fwhip thinks could be harnessed to create functional immortality (which was the subject of pix's thesis). he wants pix to come with him and investigate. pix feels weird about it but agrees to come along and be the "emperor" for the desert colony while he does his research... and then things get fucked up and scary! its a high fantasy that switches between a metaphorical dissection of their horrid will they won't they relationship and both of their issues aaand a more Literal dissection of the land and things living in it. including people and animals. at times. and also involves pix accidentally awakening a curse for a billion million years which sets the rest of aoyuer in motion.

arc 1.5 is sort of Not important but iwlike it a lot. there's not much to be said for it without major spoilers but it's set a little bit after arc 1 and comprises of fwhip being very upset about how his stupid project fell apart and trying to write up an Official Report on why everything fell apart while also coming to terms with him being the worst guy to ever have lived or something. much of aoyuer is like thinly veiled metaphors for mental illness but this one is just about mental illness

arc 2 sends us years forward into season 2 in the 1800s and our protagonist is professor pixelle riffs, lorekeeper (lrkp) who leaves his job as an archaeology lecturer to go and study the ancient capital and The Machiiine. because the machine set up WAY too much cool stuff to just ignore. sculk infection/possession is a big part of this arc. however while he's doing all this he meets oli! remember him? who has crash landed in S2 (basically the same way he did in canon) and is now regularly butting heads with pix. they eventually become friends and then umm something more :3 a lot of this remains the same as canon except the sculk arc gets a proper conclusion and ties into the ghost stuff. it ends with oli's finale where he still fakes his death (the goblin stuff is going to be changed but it's up in the air right now) and pix is devastated but pretty certain there's something not quite right so he picks greggory up and goes off in search of his lame ass boyfriend.

arc 2.5 actually takes place mid arc 2 because it's the hermpires crossover, which is less different dimensions and more different times (hermitcraft is our present and the rift facilitates time travel). when pixelle the archaeologist steps through the rift it causes serious time fuckery and so he sort of gets. forcefully ejected from his body and becomes a ghost possessing pixl riffs of the hermitcraft recap (rcp) who stumbles out of the rift very tired and very confused! there's a lot of fun mistaken identity stuff between him and oli and this is generally the most like. comedic and casual of the arcs though it still has some sweet moments.

arc 3 is just new life smp. where pixelle finally ends up in nl, finds that his lame ass boyfriend is still alive, and has relationship drama with him Except on top of that the land that new life is set on has similar properties to the land from arc 1 (functional immortality except it has some different effects, aka. going through drastic physical changes every time you "die") and so pixelle starts investigating that and maybe finds out that his whole life and his ancestors and descendants lives might be caught up in a time loop because of the copper king. forever and ever. this hasn't got much for it because i was going to work from new life canon as a base but then both pix and oli stopped playing on it LMFOHALDH but anyway.

aaand arc 4! final arc! which is set in the present right after pixl (the recap one) returns home from the hermitpires crossover. except the weird ghost voice of his ancestor in his head.. isn't going away? or rather its been replaced by a different one who is sending him on The Heros Journey. along with zloy and lyarrah and modern fwhip. this is basically the long awaited Conclusion to the curse that the copper king put in place and a lot of bullshit happens that icant really explain but it ties up all the loose ends and is generally just pix consistently having the worst time. hes the only pix who goes through hell without bringing it upon himself like he was just born.

and um. that's aoyuer! obviously there's more for all the arcs and i am happy to answer Basically any questions even though i get a little nervous sharing stuff about it because im shy. But iwhope thag explains at least a bit for everyone. My dream is to write this all into various fanfics but that looks kinda unlikely rn but it means a lot to me and you can kinda safely assume if I'm ever talking about or drawing empires there's a 99% chance it's actually aoyuer because I forget canon exists .AOYUER WORLDWIDE

4. What is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?

SO.MUCH.EXISTENTIAL.DREAD.

I answered this question here and talked about my Langris x Finesse Beauty and the Beast AU. Super fun stuff that I never got around to writing at all unfortunately. I have a lot of plot bunnies, but I think that's the oldest I'm still carrying around and have never made any concrete progress on.

11. What's something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?

...do you want to know how the human knee joint works in excruciating detail??? I now have my honorary PhD in Patellar Instability thanks to fanfiction.

Jokes aside...I think a lot of the things I've learned for fanfics are related to injuries. I know way more about corneal lacerations, punctured lungs, broken fibulas, amputation recovery, and direct blood transfusions in World War I than I ever expected to know (among a lot of other things).

I also try to research the personal experiences of people who have similar struggles to the characters I'm writing if I don't have a personal frame of reference. For instance, I think I've read at least 100 first-hand accounts from widows and widowers who eventually remarried detailing their specific struggles in processing their grief and opening themselves up to love again. (A special thanks to the Widowers Support Network. They were very informative.)

Sometimes I just disappear down the research rabbit hole. I once spent literally an hour and a half researching cantera fountains for one throwaway line in a one shot. If the story takes place in a historical setting, I'll spend a lot of time researching that or (more often than not) researching whether or not certain things existed yet.

Recently I have been learning a lot about bridges. (I have this OC who is super passionate about bridges, but I know absolutely nothing about them 🤦‍♀️ so it's been a struggle). Last weekend I watched a 45-minute documentary about cantilever bridges just so I'd know how they work--only to discover that the cantilever bridge in this city where the fic was taking place had been torn down at this time and a new cable-stayed bridge had been built. So then I had to watch a bunch of YouTube videos about how those work too.

Oh I also do a lot of canon research too (i.e. going back to reread or rewatch relevant moments from the story because I generally want my fics to be as close to canon as possible. There is nothing worse than catching continuity errors in my work. Yikes 🙈

So yeah...needless to say, I do a ton of research--probably WAY too much because it's most likely that nobody even notices these things but me. But it's still important to me to be accurate to the source material and as realistic as possible.

52. How many unfinished ideas/stories are you working on at the same time?

I try to only actively write one story at time, but I generally work on actively drafting and outlining up to and around 5 at once (by shuffling around the ideas in my head). I specify "actively" because I constantly juggle a lot of WIPs and story ideas, but I can only make concrete progress on a few of them at a time. That doesn't mean I've abandoned my wips, just that they don't have my attention and therefore, won't get concrete drafting, outlining, or writing progression.

Going back to question #4, this also fills me with existential dread.

65. What is your favourite title for a fic you’ve written? 

Probably "A Ceiling Made Of Stars" (which is DRV3 fic). In a once-in-a-lifetime event for me, I actually titled that fic before I wrote it. It just came to me when I had the initial idea for that story, and I think it's poetic, especially in context. I'm also very fond of "The Hero You Loved" (which is an OMORI fic) though I haven't written the 2nd chapter of that fic which would fully explain where the title comes from yet.

It's worth mentioning though that a lot of my fic titles are borrowed from/inspired by lines in music so I felt I should share my favorite titles in this category too (the fandom is in parentheses): "Tackle The Monsters" (DR UDG) "Hearts In Tune," (OMORI) and "Lights Will Guide You Home" (EOA)

My favorite cheeky title is probably "Everything I Need To Know About Love I Learned From Latin" (Horrible Histories; The Movie) though "How To Catch A Mermaid" (OMORI) is a close second. 😁 "It's a Future Problem" is another fun one especially given what that story is about (and that's actually a Black Clover fic unlike the rest of these😅).

To be honest, I think some of my unfinished wips actually have some of my favorite titles I've ever come up with so I'll mention them too: "Lightning In Their Eyes" (Fairy Tail; about how each of the members of the Thunder Legion first met Laxus) and "Dissonant Melodies" (YTTD; about the Yabusame Siblings' (who are both musicians) extremely strained relationship). But alas, these stories never got finished...maybe someday...

Alex: this is an au, but in a Canon Divergence Before the Canon type of way. Not a Kallus is Easily Swayed With No Real Deep Flaws & Faults type of way. Kallus still has faith in the empire, even if its slowly turns into desperately grasping for straws before Lasan.

Seth: BUT WHAT ABOUT TSEEBO.

Alex: Tseebo isn't naive. He isn't simple. He knows the complexity of the situation and he is very aware of how much Alexsandr cares about him. He's trying to point out the situation to Alexsandr, who isn't nearly as aware of it. That is the point of the scene, of the interaction, of that line.

Seth: Please comfort Tseebo, I'm begging.

Alex: I already told you, I'm writing it now. Alexsandr is just as much Tseebo's friend as Tseebo is Alexsandr’s friend. And after what had happened as the lead up to this interaction, the only thing Tseebo wants is to be comforted.

Seth: you're such a- dhsjisjs 😭

Scene that lead into this bit: Tseebo was asked by Kallus to meet him at the gate for an errand, Kallus was on his way when he started hearing a commotion between an officer and a civilian. He started to quicken his pace when it sounds like the officer is trying to pick a fight. Upon hearing the civilian talk, he runs to intervine faster because he knew it was Tseebo and that Tseebo most definitely wouldn't have done anything wrong.

“Tseebo, why didn't you protect yourself or leave?” 

For the first time since Kallus has known the other, Tseebo gives him a vexed look, one that pushes through the vanishing hint of fear from Kallus’s previous demeanor toward the officer. “Alexsandr suggests that Tseebo resists?” 

“Tseebo, I don't have to know what happened to know you were being mistreated, you were about to be hurt!” 

“Being struck and beaten down once is better than provoking reason for arrest!” Tseebo desperately tries to fight back the whine struggling to let itself be released. “What does Alexsandr think Tseebo should have done? Run away? From an imperial officer? Fight back? Against an imperial officer?” 

Kallus slowly shakes his head, he knows Tseebo has a point in that, but, “Tseebo, how many times have you been mistreated?" The way Tseebo speaks, it sounds like this is a common occurrence. "This needs to be reported-” 

“No! Tseebo makes no report to the empire. Tseebo won't win.” 

“How are-” 

“Tseebo knows Alexsandr cares deeply for him, but, tell Tseebo, what was Agent Kallus’s first thought when he met the friend of rebels Mira Bridger and Ephraim Bridger? The original designated chosen caretaker to Ezra Bridger?” 

Kallus thinks over the words, the realization of Tseebo's true point knocking into him like a ton of bricks. 

Watching the gears churn and click in his friend, Tseebo nods, the whines finally about to undermine the rare, rare bite in his voice. “Tseebo's point. Tseebo knows that you know better, but Empire does not.”

I've been reading Riordanverse fanfictions for a while, and writing them for a while to, and realized that I've read a lot of different Leo pairings. Ironically, I'm not actually the biggest fan of any Leo ship, because personally I think Leo's aro/ace, and has no attraction whatsoever (I could write essay after essay about why, but that's not the point right now). However, thinking back on all the Leo fics I've accidently read over the years (or purposefully, if the main ship or the plot intrigued me enough that I could put aside my preconcieved biases) got me thinking about whether I think Leo would be in a qpr with the characters who others ship him with. So, here's that:

Disclaimer, I'm not dissing on any ships here, ship what you want unless it's actively harmful! These are just my opinions on if I think Leo would be in a qpr with a character, because I really struggle to see him dating in my own head

Calypso — Maybe

Now, I've written Caleo before, when I was much younger and had the need to make every single fic I write canon compliant (still have this urge too, since I use fanfiction as an extension of canon works, which is why I rarely write AUs though I have) but in recent years, I just can't get myself to write them anymore, so my canon compliant fics have them breaking up pretty soon after TON for my sanity. As for them in a QPR, I've written it before (see Self-Discovery on ao3 by TheAmazingMaddy) (actually it might be on Wattpad too, but I can't remember, same name) (Double checked, it is also there) and that was such a fun fic for me to write! However, in the future I see them more as business partners and close friends than queer platonic partners. If you've read my Solangelo future fic Surprise! you'd know in that fic Leo and Calypso have their mechanic shop that they talk about in HOH, but Calypso has her own girlfriend (Sapphic a-spec Calypso is my new favorite thing) and Leo is living his life with his adoptive children, Madalena and Aidan, and they're content. (I won't go into any more details about this dynamic because I'd probably cap the word limit if I try, but if anyone wants elaboration, feel free to ask)

Jason Grace — Very likely

As aforementioned, I mainly write canon-compliant fics post TOA, so I'd probably never write this myself, but out of everyone on this list, Jason is by far the most likely candidate. Valgrace is by far the Leo ship content I see the most, as I've read a lot of aus that include it, mainly for the Solangelo content ngl. But, back to the qpr stuff, I definitely see them being queer platonic partners, as they're friendship is already solid. Jason Grace & Piper McLean — Likely enough

Disclaimer, I was raised without any knowledge on polyamory, and still have very little knowledge on it, as I struggle comprehending attraction to one person, much less more than one, but just because I don't understand it, doesn't mean I don't support everyone, and am willing to try and learn from more coherent sources

I just wanted to put a disclaimer before this one, as it's the only poly ship on this list, and I'm honestly afraid I'll say something ignorant and offensive, when that's not my intention at all. I'm not 100% sure how poly qprs would work, but I don't see why it wouldn't work? I mean, I haven't read anything on poly qprs, but I haven't consumed much poly content in general, and am being forthright when I say I am ignorant. That being said, the Lost Trio has some of my favorite friendship dynamics, so I see it as likely enough they could be in a poly qpr. Piper, obviously, is romantically dating Shel though, as they are one of my favorite underrated ships. I adore them, and wish we could get some more content on them and their meeting.

Drew Tanaka— Definitely Not

This one is because I very recently read a Solangelo fic that had background Leo/Drew mentions, and I didn't read the compliant story about them the author had written but I still decided to add it. Personally, I can't see it. Don't get me wrong, I love the Drew redemption arcs that a lot of Drew fics have, and I've even written Aro Drew myself for Aro Week 2024 (Aro Allo Drew to be specific) but I really can't see Leo and Drew working. Friends? Possibly, I'm not 100% sure, I could see Drew getting annoyed with him too fast for them to be around each other for more than 5 minutes at a time. QPP? Definitely not in my head.

Austin Lake— Maybe? I honestly can't tell, but the idea has merit

If anyone has read my Apollo Cabin fics, or my Ace 2023 and Aro 2024 oneshot collections, they'd know not only am I a bonafide expert in all things Aro/Ace Leo, but I am also a bonafide expert in all things Aro/Ace Austin, crazy how things work out, huh? Now, does me hcing them both as aromantic and asexual (both leaning more towards repulsed because self-projection? I don't know them)make them a good candidate for a qpr? I honestly don't know. The merit for this one comes from the fact that I can see Leo building or fixing instruments for Austin to play, and I think that's sweet. Austin plays the Valdezinator now, I don't make the rules.

Connor Stoll— Possible, but the world might come to an end if it happens

Leo and Connor are both such chaotic energies that combining them might be detrimental to the human and mythological worlds alike. They'd get along fantastically, so them being in a qpr is not out of the question, it's just the pranks that they'd come up with if they were together often would be the thing of nightmares. When I read them together in a fic, I was honestly scared for the well-being of the camp. They scare me together a bit.

Laurel Victor- No

Okay, admit time, the tagged Leo/Laurel fic I've read was written by me... Now, you're probably thinking why did I write this? The answer is simple, it was the fic First Dates in my Aro Week 2024 oneshot collection, where Jason and Piper set Leo up with a blind date with Laurel that goes pretty badly to try and take his mind off the Argo II building process and him feeling like a 3rd wheel (Because obviously Leo has no attraction towards her), but I feel obligated to add it to this list because I mean I have reread my own works before? I'm just saying it would go really badly because Laurel and Leo are both all energy all the time but in completely different, and butting heads kinda way.

You know, I probably have read more, but these are the ones I remember (mainly because the fics I read ages ago had some really memorable parts, that even if I probably would never find them again, it's forever altered my brain chemistry) at the moment. I'd love to hear if people have read or written other Leo ships, that they'd like me to rate the qpr-ability of!

A vent about my uncertain writing (distant) future that really doesn't matter much

You know, it's weird whenever I think about what I could write after Meta Knightmare is over (which I'll just say that I know when that ending will come). I mean I could just eek out some more side stuff, some of which I've wanted to make for a while (might even include some Kirby stuff not connected to MKM), and I would like to make YouTube videos of whatever I want instead of just lounging on AO3 forever. But I keep thinking up ideas of fics I could make for other things I love like Steven Universe and especially Angry Birds (definitely have some thoughts for the latter). At the same time though, with what ideas I have for those, I'm worried that it would just be too much like a retread of Meta Knightmare. I might just make another action-tinted dramedy filled with so many crazy AU ideas with varying amounts of canon compliance that it borders on crackfic, yet tons of heart and found family stuff at the same time. Who knows if I'd even move on past the outline format? Granted, I love using those tropes with Kirby, but I'm worried that if I apply it to those other things, then I may as well just be writing Meta Knightmare again but with a new coat of paint like it's a new LEGO game. Not to mention that it feels comfortable with Kirby because not only is there plenty of material in the base games, but the lore is so extensive while leaving plenty of stuff wide open to the point where even flipping fundamental canon on its head feels suprisingly alright. But while Angry Birds has the characters to potentially work in my style, the world and stuff is nowhere near as extensive to have an easy time fitting into something good unless I try to just rip off the movie or maybe go straight for Angry Birds Stella (which I love, but I'd like to give the main flock some love first, especially the found family idea with ALL OF THEM, even the more forgotten ones). Steven Universe, which I haven't even thought that much about, kinda has the opposite problem in that while it has tons of lore, it's largely open and shut in a way that it isn't that fun to imagine changes to it. Not to mention that even if I tried some of that family theme stuff, a lot of that in my existing work is kinda inspired heavily by SU in the first place. It'd be kinda like if a growing rock band with heavy inspiration from the Beatles tried covering the Beatles and trying to make it sound way different from either of them while still respecting the feel of the originals. Good luck with that. (Admittedly though, I did just come up with a Spinel AU idea that absolutely blew my mind, but I'm not so sure if I'll still have the mood for it by the time MKM's over, which won't be for quite a while. I might just throw it out there for someone else to write in the comments if anyone asks.)

Why am I even talking about this? I've got 12 of the 26 chapters of MKMIII left to write with 4 already published! If I'm no more than halfway through my first fanfic project, then maybe I shouldn't be thinking just yet about my next project. Also now Magolor's in the fic and with how much Magolor instantly makes fans flock to any fic, I may as well bask in the hits while I can! A big thank you to my readers, by the way!

💚Update💚

Hey guys! So, I just wanted to give everyone an update on things.

I recently got another job, so now I have two. And to say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. I am so so thankful for this new opportunity I have gotten, it is for my dream job in an industry I thought I'd never get an opportunity in, so this new job will take priority over everything. This doesn't mean I am quitting AO3 or Tumblr, I am just going to be spending less time on these things.

I also have a ton of requests, writing, and art I need to do. If you haven't seen, I have over 100 requests on my other blog. As well as all of the requests on this blog and my old blog. And on top of that all of the fics I need to update. AND I need to finish an art piece very soon. I have been spending the majority of my time on my other blog instead of this one. Which is not what I want . But I just can't help myself because I am having so much fun over there! I will start prioritizing this page more though.

Fanfics - I am going to be prioritizing the pet au, Dearly Discarded, over all of my other fics. So, you may not see an update for After All Odds or Your Biggest Fan for awhile. If you would prefer me to prioritize a different fic, please let me know! And If that is what everyone wants, then I do not mind focusing on a different fic.

Etsy - I will be restocking very soon! But I have some things I would like to have done before I restock and focus my time of fulfilling orders. But don't worry. I am restocking most items (Gyutaro & Shigaraki throw pillows and keychains)!! I do not plan on making anymore Gyutaro body pillows!! There are only two large ones left. If you really really want one and are unable to get one right now please let me know what size, and if I get enough people asking for them I will consider making more. As you know, I did have plans to make more merch and I have even started a few projects. But they will all be put on hold for now while I focus on this new job.

Tumblr - I will try my best to be on both blogs daily. I love you all too much to stay away for too long! If you have submitted a writing request here, then it may take me awhile to get to. I have lots of requests for one shots that may take a long time. But if you request head canons or something simpler I will be able to get to them quicker. And you know your girl can't control herself so you know I have plenty of Gyutaro merch to keep posting. I got a big delivery a few days ago and have another delivery coming tomorrow. I will just make a big post with everything. And I am working hard to find links to everything too! But please let me know what kind of content you like to see! Or if there is anything you don't want to see too!

I hope in the future I will be able to quit my old job and solely focus on the new one. But at the moment that just won't be possible for me.

what do you think about the pale king?

oh my dear anon, have you been on my blog for longer than 5 seconds? isn't it obvious? hahahah

i love him, he's my favourite character next to hornet and grimm. sure he gets like one spoken line in the game, and is dead by the time we meet him, but i just couldn't help but get attached even despite his horrifying actions

first it started with memes, you know, all the "haha baby murderer" thing with no substance, but the more i looked into him as a character, the more fascinated i became. there's a lot more nuance to him than i first expected, so many possible blanks to fill, and i saw an opportunity to create my own version of him. and over time, my love for the little shrimp just kept growing, to the point where i would consider him to be one step away from basically becoming my oc. obviously i can't really make him one, but he's as close to my heart as my own created characters

and as you can imagine, with your favourite blorbo comes a metric ton of projecting. i gave my pk a lot of my own personality traits. the aversion to loud noises and big crowds? the introvert personality? finding grimm hot? the passion for creating things and using it as a means to escape problems? all the bottled up emotions that he won't talk about in fears of burdening others and making it look like he's just feeling sorry for himself? yep. that's all me, more or less

does seeing people hate him make me sad? well i'd be a liar if i said "no", even if i understand where it's coming from. he's done horrible things, yes it was with the best intentions, but he's done them. do i excuse it? no, of course not, but i can emphasize with him to an extent. being put in the same scenario as him, where there's no good option and all possible outcomes end in pain and death? i really don't know what i'd do, and i imagine he was just as overwhelmed by all of it. again, i don't see that as an excuse, more as an opportunity to give him more depth as a character. after all, why would i hate him, if he does more than enough self-loathing himself? i see my au as a chance of redemption for him, yes, because i'm a sucker for second chances and good endings, but i also don't feel like he'd just get away with all of that scot-free. and how to make sure that doesn't happen? tons of self-hate and guilt, of course, with a sprinkle of a crippling fear of failure as a treat. in the end, you can move on from your mistakes, but you can never run away from yourself

as a side note, i also really like his design. he looks so damn stupid with that giant funko pop head, those alien looking eyes and the ridiculously massive fork shaped crown. he has this pathetic aura to him design-wise that i just love so much

in the end, my version of the pale king is so distant from the canon that some could consider him a completely different character, which to be fair, isn't really that far off. he really is my blorbo, and i would take a bullet for him. would i do the same for other pk interpretations out there? probably not. but that doesn't change the fact that i love him as a character and i'm glad there's other people out there who like him as well. makes me feel less lonely about liking this goofy shrimp man

For Miqo'te, their lore is rather clear in just how catlike they are - very. Au Ra get a ton more lore about their actual tribes, but not as much about lifestyle in general, since they give us a bit about every single tribe...so I imagine it depends on your Au Ra! But when you slap animal bits on a human body, why would you just play them as humans, in my humble opinion? Why not just be human, at that rate? I love leaning into the anthro aspect, and showing just why that race/species isn't just a human with horns/human with cat ears, etc. But with Miqo'te? It's rather less detailed in what specific tribes get up to (thus me making my own head-canon for J tribe), but their behavior being very catlike is canon! I actually don't have Jak roll her R's because I find it silly...but most examples of Miqo'te in canon do talk that way! It's precisely because they are so hardy and so fast and jump and climb and love to hunt so much that they're listed as making great sailors and adventurers!

Ultimately, play your OC as you will - there's always going to be someone who likes what you're doing and wants to write with you, (and FFXIV is kinda shallow on most of its lore) - I'm honestly just grateful that they do say that Miqo are more catlike... because again, why make an anthro race at all, if they're just humans with cat-ears/rabbit ears/horns/scales etc? Why do they have those, where do they come from, what benefit does it give, etc - we're human every single day, so I like to get away from it some in fantasy, myself, and lean into something more fantastical. Yes, your Miqo probably wants to nap in the sun, and enjoys small, fast moving objects. As for Au Ra - well, why wouldn't you lean into the fact that you have horns and scales? (Though also mammalian features, so no they're probably not cold-blooded, no, but it's a fun joke! There is no species in existence with both reptilian and mammalian features, so people make their own stuff up... because that's more fun than 'human with more frustratingly shaped hearing organs'. But since SE won't give us more lore about our OC's races, we gotta make it up ourselves!) And dragon/lizard-based people probably have a few dragon/lizard-based things about their personality, even if the behavior isn't necessarily necessary anymore - after all, my house cats still stir their water before drinking it, even though it's fresh running water... but it's instinct! It can be fun and interesting to think about those little things that differ because you're a non-human. But! If you aren't intrigued by all the little ways an anthro-person would potentially be different, they could have just spent most of their time around Hyur - easy solve!

tl;dr There is lore, if you want it, but you are always okay to play your own version of a thing!

I think I'm literally the only Au Ra player in the entire world who doesn't like thinking of my Au Ra as a "lizard" or lizard-like. It just... doesn't work for me. Admittedly, I'm not really fond of lizards, which may be heresy. (I mean they're fine they're just... not really appealing to me.)

The whole "Au Ra sitting around on sunny rocks and disliking the cold" thing makes me scratch my head because it doesn't make sense to me. Au Ra are definitely not cold-blooded. And many of them come from places that would have cold winters. The Steppe would certainly have long, frigid winters, even in the desert regions, modeled as it is on the Eurasian Steppe.

So coming from the Steppe, I imagine Severia is quite tolerant of cold weather, which seems to be a characteristic she does not share with a single other Au Ra. I don't imagine she would like sitting around on sunny rocks more than the average person of any race. (Actually, she doesn't like being idle much so she would like it considerably less than most.)

I'm not writing this to disparage other players and their headcanons at all. Everyone should develop their OCs in whatever way makes them happy. It's just something curious I've noticed. Sometimes it makes me feel solitary and makes it hard to relate to other Au Ra players. But Severia is a rather solitary soul so perhaps it's fitting.

Despite arriving early, Lan Wangji’s luck has him run into Nie Huaisang as soon as he arrives at the hotel reserved for the experts on the show. Chipper in the wee hours of the day, Nie Huaisang is used to the chaotic scheduling and ensures him that there is no need to join the crew before the day of filming.  Lan Wangji doesn’t know how to work with this kind of laissez-faire attitude towards the production that supposedly single-handedly saved the old traditions and the tv station itself.  His brother’s guess at Nie Huaisang just using this as an opportunity to find work as an interior designer without actually having to work full-time in the field seems to be spot-on. All the ‘experts’ on the show being a hand-picked group of pretty men just cements the suspicion that he’s got a hand in everything. With a flourish of his fan Nie Huaisang vanishes into the streets, leaving him with the advice to head into the city centre and lookout for fancy birds. Lan Wangji isn’t sure whether that is an euphemism or not.  

Sticking to his initial plan he decides to get familiar with the shooting area first. Luckily the hotel was chosen strategically, only a short trip away from the ominous place donning the name of Burial Mound.  He isn’t so sure anymore whether analysing the style of cultivation practiced there will be a walk in the park or if he should’ve done more studying despite what little he was given from the production team.  After consulting the map on his phone Lan Wangji finds the pathway that leads up the mountain, an old sign announcing the amount of kilometres left to the cave.

He can’t fathom how a filming permit got granted for what seems to be an alternative housing project.

The way up takes time, but despite the slope he doesn’t break out into sweat. None of the woods grow leaves, nevertheless the sky is completely blocked from view. Vines are enclosing him on both sides, and the branches of the old, hunched trees seem to claw their way onto the path. The perfect trap. He finds himself to be more alert than ever before.

At the end of the pathway he is greeted by a buzzling crowd.

Stepping out into the clearing feels surreal, almost like he travelled back and forth in time during his ascend. Shaking of the oppressive atmosphere of the thicket he takes in his surroundings. Cables for the cameras are getting set up while the producers and the director are conferring next to the entrance to a cave. Gingerly he makes his way over, some of the regular inhabitants shooting him curious glances. The stark white of his clothes, unperturbed even after the hike up the mountain, induces a respectful distance. Lan Wangji decides to wear the traditional Lan Clan attire for the actual shooting day then and there.

One of the producers gets alerted to his presence and after introducing herself she starts to apologise profusely. Lan Wangji feels doused in shame.  It was inadequate to come here this early.  He has caused more trouble than he intended and now he doesn’t know how to express his regret properly.

Instead he settles on inquiring after the briefing, a promise to vacate the premises ringing in the air. The producer almost curtsies to the obvious amusement of the director and makes quick work of her bag, fishing out a thin script and an outline of the show. “We will have a meeting tonight at the hotel in preparation. Most of tomorrows segment will be focused on Huaisang’s area of expertise, so you only have to take a look around and get interviewed afterwards for a first impression on the vibe of the cultivation.” Her eyes almost vanish behind the brim of her bucket hat as she cranes her neck to try and match his height. Lan Wangji thanks her and ponders how much he should prepare for his segment. Listening to the stories of his brother most people on the show are affiliated to powerful clans which allows them to own such peculiar houses in the first place. He just assumed that he’d already be familiar with the cultivation style, but just standing here, even surrounded by a friendly group of people, something feels off. A cold wind clasps his feet in confirmation.

He flips open the script and his eyes just so fall on the name on the top corner of the paper when a delighted voice calls out for him..

“Lan Zhan! Lan WangJiii! I knew it was you!” Grinning Wei Wuxian comes to an abrupt halt before him, curiously looking him up and down. Lan Wangji feels surprisingly unsettled by this unexpected encounter. The constricting feeling from the climb up is back.

His brother must have known.

Wei Wuxian seems to be very impressed with how Lan Wangji has changed in appearance since they last saw each other in school.

13 years ago.

Lan Wangji still hasn’t recovered from the initial shock, a tiny “Wei Ying” living his lips before he corrects his posture and bows formally. Wei Wuxian follows his movement in an almost flippant imitation, still grinning at him.

“Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan. I didn’t expect you of all people to be in show business.” Lan Wangji doesn’t know if that is a good thing, so he says nothing. “Makes me curious what your area of expertise is on the show.”  And with that he has pulled the script from his hands studying the cover page. “Script – Cultivation expert” is written on the front with a “confidential” stamp across it.  “I didn’t know this show was about cultivation as well? I thought it was all remodelling and refurnishing advice. Hopefully Huangang Jun will be lenient in his comments, -“ Lan Wangji’s brows ever so slightly knit together after hearing Wei Wuxian call him by his title. How does he know?- “I really want this to focus on the community having to live here.”  Gently he retrieves the script from Wei Wuxian’s hands to stop himself from staring.

“But isn’t this a happy accident? Jiang Cheng signed me up for the show not knowing you were one of the hosts, otherwise he would’ve let me know. Or not.” He seems to contemplate that thought for a moment.

Lan Wangji doesn’t know why Wei Wuxian is so excited to see him again but he basks in the pleasant albeit novel feeling, relaxing with every word that leaves Wei Wuxian’s mouth. Not much has changed since they attended the same after school classes at the cultivation heritage centre. Wei Wuxian still animatedly talks without a pause and seems to find joy in everything around him while pulling all kinds of faces. Lan Wangji’s pulse quickens when realization dawns on him that different majors at university and over 10 years weren’t enough.

13 years.

He has grown, he has changed,

But it isn’t enough.

The director joins them shortly, curious at how they know each other and while Wei Wuxian tells him an abridged version of how the Lan Wangji used to supervise his detention, he takes in the other people in the area.

Around 30 people are working in the communal space in front of the cave, fixing up the small wooden huts and looking after the vegetable patches. Most of them are well over 40 and unsurprisingly he doesn’t recognize anyone. There is only one child and his eyes are fixed on Wei Wuxian as his little fingers daringly get closer to a muddy puddle.

“Ah-Yuan!” Wei Wuxian calls out in mock-rage and runs over, picks up the young boy and holds him upside down. Ah-Yuan giggles and laughs, before wriggling out if his grip and running off to an old woman weaving baskets. Wei Wuxian turns around, waving him closer, the last sunrays of the day basking his face in a warm light.

Around them the group of artists (?), squatters (?) cleans up and gets ready for the night but Wei Wuxian grips his wrist and pulls him towards the cave.

“Let me give you an exclusive first look of my private quarters before shooting starts!” Wei Wuxian says accompanied with a suggestive wink as they cross the entrance.  He has to remind himself that he doesn’t know Wei Wuxian anymore, that he was very young and inexperienced back then.  Lan Wangji’s burning ears betray him.

As they proceed into the second chamber of the cave candles light up, illuminating the harsh rock that encloses them.  Now with nightfall the place feels more eerie, finally justifying the legends of the Burial Mound that still get told in town. Sensitized after years of training, he can feel the old dark energy.

Wei Wuxian must feel it as well, he can see the talismans on the walls to ward off evil. For the first time he wonders why Wei Wuxian chose to live in this place.

The chamber is empty with the exception of a makeshift bed and a round table with woodwork on it. 

Does Wei Wuxian sleep here? Only lurking spirits for company?

“I can show you more tomorrow, but if you like you could take a look at the gadgets I’ve carved. You are much more knowledgeable with these kind of things...at least you used to be...” Wei Wuxian’s smile is so soft, eyes gently vanishing into lines. Lan Wangji takes extra care in schooling his face into an impassive look.

At first sight the gadgets seem to be the perfect prank material, they are designed to cause small explosions or form a cloaking fog. But he can’t help and think about what confrontation Wei Wuxian is preparing for. The carving is done very carefully and judging from the papers on top of the table, much work went into finding the perfect designs.

He settles on an “Acceptable.” Wei Wuxian’s face pulls into a smile, making him want to repeat the word over and over again.

“I really didn’t know you were coming. But I’m glad we meet again. It has been a long time since I could talk to someone who understands what I’m talking about.”

He was right. A lot has changed. He isn’t used to this Wei Wuxian who is mature in his honesty. And he knows he is doomed just like before, because even this unknown Wei Wuxian he wants to be close to and find out who he is.

“But it is getting late, Lan Zhan, I shouldn’t keep you on the mountain. I bet they arranged suitable accommodation for the esteemed Huangang Jun down town. Let me show you off!”

“Hm.” He hums in agreement and they make their way back to the entrance.

“Don’t worry I will show you the rest tomorrow. I will need you to stay sane when Huaisang starts berating me for my tasteful furniture choices.”

“I will be there.”

Wei Wuxian is visibly startled by the fervour in his voice. “Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan. Of course you’ll be there. Or the crew would have schlepped all the equipment up this godforsaken mound for nothing. And we can’t have that taint your reputation.”

Wei Wuxian laughs most of the way down.

Just before the path opens to the road at the feet of the Mound he says his goodbyes.

“See you tomorrow Lan Zhan.” Then: “Sleep well, Lan-Er Gege.” The mischief in his voice bubbles over.

“Wei Ying!” It comes out sterner than he intended but Wei Wuxian seems pleased at having struck a chord, making his way back up the Mound while waving him goodbye, back turned.

Lan Wangji allows himself to wait until the red of Wei Wuxian’s hair band vanishes into the grey thicket. With nightfall the cold is creeping into his bones and he becomes aware of the old grave stones that line the path. Even in the 21stcentury, Burial Mound stays a fitting name.

One step onto the well-lit road and he’s enveloped by the humid heat of Yiling’s night.

What abiut an au where the candle is sentient like casita, and can "talk" but only mirabel understands it as the next chosen "candle holder".

But the candle cusses like a sailor. After Mira's failed cerimony it keeps cussing Alma. Lil Mirabel goes around asking what each cussword is and Julieta goes after Pepa or whoever she thinks is teaching Mirabel cusswords.

Also no one believes Mirabel can really understand the cqndle, sinfe even Alma dones not. They think shes just upset she does not have a gift so she makes one up for herself.

Candle Wisperer AU

Ever since Mirabel's door disappeared, she kept hearing strange words that is always yelled when speaking it.

While they were having breakfast, she kept hearing insults towards her abuela, so she decided to ask.

"What's fuck?"

Everyone either stopped eating to look at her in shock, or looked at her in horror.

The candle was also startled.

Julieta immediately looked at her hermana, but she only raised both of her hands and shook her head no.

After that, she kept asking every madrigal adult what the cuss words are.

"Mama what's shit?"

"Papa, what does Fuck You mean?"

"Tìo, what's bitch?"

"Tìa, what is cunt?"

"Uh Abuela- what's a dickhead?"

Everyone practically had heart attacks when she asked those, even Abuela was horrified.

Julieta, the gentle and smart mother she is, decided to think it was a good idea to chase everyone who cussed.

"GET BACK HERE PEPA!" "IT WASN'T ME I SWEAR!"

"AY DIOS MÍO-" "GET BACK HERE YOU TOWNFOLK! YOU SWEARED INFRONT OF MY KID ONCE!"

11-year-old Isabela was trying to hide her imperfect laugh, and since Mirabel was asking the words Dolores didn't understand, she also began to question.

So now they had two kids asking around what are cuss words, Dolores' was worse.

"Mami, what's [VERY MEAN WORD]?"

Now they had two moms trying to find the people who cussed.

Mirabel told them that she could understand the candle, but no one believed her, saying that's just how she copes with no gift.

So a decade later, when Antonio's Ceremony was happening, she heard the candle yelling for her, telling her to go to the center of the casita and look for herself.

"Candle what do you-" "GET TO THE FUCKING CENTER! CRACKS ARE APPEARING AND THEY'RE LARGER NOW!" "WHAT!?"

She dashed to the center, seeing tons of cracks, the canon still happens, but with the Candle cussing out Alma so much Mirabel wanted to just speak what they're cussing.

"Tell her to fucking accept her family and not the shitty gifts Miracle created!" "Candle no, mama will ground me for the swear words."

When she was about to go to Bruno's room later on, the Candle suddenly said something strange.

"Don't fall twice, alright?" Mirabel was confused. So when she step foot, she fell and landed on the sand, making her E A T T H E S A N D -

She guessed that was the fall, so she won't fall again.

When she got out, the candle sweared.

"Shit- you almost died didn't you?" "How did you know?!" "I felt it, your damn soul almost fuckin' went to a cliff."

The dinner scene happens, the WECID scene happens. But something was wrong.

Abuela was yelling at Mirabel, when all of a sudden, Mirabel was told that she should repeat every word the candle says.

So, she did it.

"YOU'RE ONE OF THE REASONS WHY BRUNO LEFT!"

"You're one of the reasons why Bruno left."

"You didn't fucking stop the rumours of him! You just let them!"

"You didn't fucking stop the rumours of him. You just let them."

"WAS PEDRO'S SHITTY SACRIFICE A JOKE TO YOU!?"

"Was Pedro's shitty sacrifice a joke to you..?"

"YOU MADE YOUR FAMILY HAVE TRAUMA TOO!"

"You. Made. Your family. Have trauma too. You forgot they were human."

Everyone stared at her in horror. Her tone made them know she was repeating someone, but where?

"The Miracle is dying because of you!" A crack opened beneath them.

Everything happened too fast. (God, I'm becoming lazier at writing I'm so sorry-)

And then everything was fixed.

Mirabel was staring at the doorknob she was holding, she placed it on the door. The casita began to become magical again, everyone gaining their powers back.

"Hola, Casita." She waved back at the house.

While they were partying, her mama asked her a question on how she knew the cuss words ever since her ceremony. She just said that she kept hearing the candle say it.

So they practically knew she was the next candle holder.

"I'm back bitches! I didn't die!" "The candle said they're back and didn't die."

"Wait, where's the candle?" Antonio asked. Everyone looked to where thr candle was supposed to be, seeing nothing.

"Oh shit. How did I hear the candle when it's gone?'

Here's a ton of design notes no one asked for my lost miraculous au/rewrite villain designs and some other notes about them as characters in relation. Since it's fun for me and I'm just here to indulge myself lol

I really wanted to attach the Graham De Vanilly family and Agreste family to theater and different forms of art. They're honestly just clowning and all stuck in their own heads making a show literally no one else needs to, or wants to be involved in lmao

Hawkmoth Notes

I might redesign Hawkmoth at some point, but I'd really like to keep the left eye or face hidden since it honestly reminds me of the phantom of the opera. He sees himself as like him a lot. If he had the left eye hidden as Hawkmoth, and not just Shadowmoth, in a way it would also be an interesting cue to the way he allies with Nathalie and yet only for Emilie's fate. When the viewers see her as Mayura with her left eye hidden introduced in s3, it would show her as an extension of Hawkmoth rather then her own.

"Phantom Fox" Felix Notes

To elaborate on some things here:

The original colors read as too similar to heroic for me. By making the orange and brown tinted red especially it reads a bit more as "villain" now, and it connects to his mom's red design. Even though they're all villains working together I think it's important to show that split of "Amelie and Felix" and "Gabriel and Nathalie" initially and visually as two teams with tension that eventually fall apart. ("Fall apart" being Nathalie getting sick and Felix getting hurt so that Gabriel and Amelie have to work together more).

For the comparison to Chat Noir I tried to make their energy similar? Technically the design only has their hands be the exact same, but I like to think that represents how they do things very similarly when using a miraculous. Felix is still cold, snarky and a trickster like his own civilian life, but he let's himself be so overly theatrical and silly as Phantom Fox. I'm also adding in that as Phantom Fox, he can be rash. Kind of in a way that's different from Chat Noir and can be a struggle for Ladybug, because he makes detailed plans that are smart and do work. It's just emotionally rash plans since he gets caught up in the feeling of superiority. He won't register the emotional or physical cost on himself or others until after it's finished. Chat Noir and him still hate each other and are enemies yeah, but I just want to emphasize the fact Felix and Adrien could totally be friends and share a lot of traits in this au. They could be the family member that support each other the best. But they're on opposite sides both at home and as super hero/villains.

"Madam Mäuse" Amelie

Amelie is kinda hard to make designs for (mainly because I struggle trying to make her appear distinct from Emelie). I really loved watching ballerinas in the theater as a little kid as a Christmas tradition though, mainly being the nutcracker and I couldn't get the mouse ballerina concept out of my mind. I love the idea of Amelie being involved in musicals a lot in her civilian life in this au, while her sister Emelie took movie roles like in "Solitude". She rarely gets involved as an actor or dancer herself anymore (she rather focus on Felix) she does help local kids get involved in theaters, musicals, or learn dance. She encourages Felix towards theater a lot but he doesn't want to deal with that many people usually. This also helps set up the idea of the miraculous class having to do a school play episode.

"The Monarch" Emilie Agreste

My favorite to make out of them!

Not as much to add here, but! I really want to drive in that butterfly aspect since canon hawkmoth doesn't do it for me lol. Part of that's okay with me in this au because Emilie with or without the mask is like a butterfly. The? Coffin? Tube? Garden Thing, Gabriel has for her body in canon serves more as like a cocoon in this version. A lot of her character arc is focused on rebirth emotionally when she's finally revived. She's always been manipulative slightly but now that Adrien has his own life while she has such a larger need to regain control she's just. dissociated from the reality she's been shoved into and isn't sure what to do but play the role of monarch she's been offered by Amelie, and by extension regain control there.

Hello!

So I was thinking about college and what the vks and aks would choose for a major, but you know, in every fic there's the stereotypical mal-fine arts, evie-fashion design, jay-sports scholarship, carlos-computer science, ben-king etc

(which are gret and very fitting) but what if those weren't options?

Like, I could tottaly see jay as an architect, fumbling with papers and huge A1 sheets full of crooked buildings, led covered hands and shirts, hair tied up in a bun and held in place by pencils

and carlos maybe a physics or chemistry major (or very early phd cause he's an absolute genius), mad scientist vibes and all that good stuff

Mal could surely pull off a forestry & environmental sciences degree, being an activist and trying to become the voice of the fae residing in the auradon forests, those that are forgotten by the law

oh! and audrey being in the same major as mal, preparing for her future ruling on the throne of roses

Oh my gosh okay so first of all, love all these suggestions! They're definitely less conventional and less popular but that just makes them more fun to hear!

But honestly, Mal doing anything in the arts would be wonderful. Aside from spray paint and one doodle, we didn't see her do much in canon even though we know it's an interest of hers. She didn't have time to pursue it like Evie with fashion or Jay with sports. So I'd be fine with that. But her being an environmentalist is also good. I LOVe the tie to nature and her faerie heritage. That's something worth exploring

Jay as an architect is interesting. You provided a very lovely visual to go with it 😍 I could get behind it. Like imagine he just gains an interest in architect from all his parkour and scaling buildings sksks. That'd be so funny

I also feel like we didn't get a lot of Carlos's hobbies in the movies either?? It was Dude, Jane, and sport that he didn't even like. I do love mad science vibes for Carlos, but I could see him doing a ton of stuff. I love the idea of this Cruella being the head of a huge fashion house like Glenn Close's Cruella, and Carlos learning the ropes at that. But using his tech genius mind in the fashion industry. Creating sustainable pieces out of recycled material, and mingling wearable fashion with modern tech. Basically slaying the entire "Fashion in the Age of Technology" Met Gala better than anyone who actually went. But he's my fave of the Core Four, he can do literally anything

Could so see Doctor!Evie happening. She's a caregiver, she would want to do what she can to save people. But I could also see her being an activist, or doing the whole fashion meets technology thing. But yeah, these characters are versatile, you don't always have to pin them to one interest and one future only

Love activist!Audrey as well. Ooh, or could see her doing something with animals. Bring back first book Audrey where she's just a sweetheart angel and woodland creatures flock to her side

slkdgsd HI THANK YOU FOR THESE!!! 💞💞 SO sorry it took me so long to reply, i was not online very much this past weekend! BUT!

i absolutely think these accurately represent my writing habits haha. i am alllllllll about writing those soft, sweet, tooth-rottingly fluffy moments so yeah that FITS that it's my number one tag. and i do feel like i write a LOT of first kiss/love confession fics so that also makes sense that it makes the top 5! the alternate universe - modern setting tag i know for certain comes from the fact that i wrote a TON of fics for stucky and i even though i did like writing pre-war stucky fics, my favorite thing to do was to play outside of canon more with them, so most of my fics ended up being like no serum/powers and set in current times, so that's why that tag was used so much. i will say that i am surprised that the smut tag makes the top 5 lol. i feel like i don't write that much smut?? but i guess maybe i do? granted, it's only listed as being used 11 times out of my 94 fics so yeah that really isn't a lot lol. but yeah! i guess tha's a thing!

4. What detail in if you have a minute are you really proud of?

ooh, okay. there were a few lines in particular in this fic that i really really loved and am really partial to, BUT i have to say that i am actually really proud of how i managed to make the screaming at the lake part not give off that like hide-your-face-in-your-hands second hand embarrassment kind of cringe vibe. (at least i don't think i did LOL). it would be very easy, in my opinion, to tip over into that second hand embarrassment kind of side of things with a scene like that, and i think i did a good job of like not going there, and making it more serious even if it is still a little goofy to be just shouting at a lake. i like to think that that scene ended up being very cathartic (it certainly felt that way to write!) so i'm pretty proud that i was able to put that down into words and elicit that feeling.

10. How do you decide what to write?

honestly, i don't really pick what to write — what i'm going to write picks me lol.

but it's usually just based on whatever ideas i have floating around my head when i'm wanting to write. the ideas can be inspired by a post i see, a song, someone's art, something that happens to me irl, another piece of media, something someone else says, a random thought i have, anything really.

if it's an idea i like, that i feel energetic about and am vibing with then i'll roll with it and try to write it. if i have multiple ideas at once (which like. is often lol) then i just go with whichever feels easiest to work on at the moment.

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

hmmm, i think maybe soulmate aus? i didn't used to like those a whole lot, never thought i'd ever write one, but over the years i've started to read more of them, and funny enough, my favorite spierfeld fic that i wrote ended up being a soulmate au. i'm still not like the biggest reader of them, but i won't rule them out, and if they're done right (and bonus points for if they're done in a way that is different from all the rest!!) then they can be very good!

17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?

okay so i don't think this necessarily falls under the "you might be the only person to appreciate it" part of the question because i really don't think i would be the only person to appreciate it, BUT it is a highly specific au that i have been DREAMING about writing for literally years. i call it my "fake bbq master husband kidfic au" skjdflds.

idk if you've ever seen it but there's a post floating out there about these like 17 year olds who posted an ad on like craigslist or something looking for a "generic father figure for backyard bbq" aka someone to pretend to be their dad who likes to bbq and talk about "dad" things and such.

well. i saw this post whilst in the midst of my stucky era, and immediately thought of a fic where steve is a single dad, and he moves into this new neighborhood and he like meets some of his neighbors and panic invites them to a bbq at his house (despite being a shit cook and not knowing how to bbq) so they can all get to know each other and he makes the mistake of saying that he has a husband when, in fact, he does not. cue steve hitting up craigslist with this ad looking for someone to pretend to be his husband who knows how to grill and wants to do him a solid. enter: bucky barnes.

this fic really had it all. it had peggy being the mother of steve's child, but they amicably split and now peggy is with angie martinelli, and steve has full custody but they're still very involved with raising the daughter (ellie!); it had natasha and clint as neighbors, tony and pepper and their daughter morgan as neighbors (and also morgan ends up on the same soccer team as ellie); sam and riley as a couple + steve's friends before the move; carol and maria and their daughter monica. (and, like, most everyone is gay, if you can't tell LOL).

and yeah basically bucky responds to the ad, comes over to help with this bbq party, and ends up sweeping steve, his daughter, and all their neighbors/friends off of their feet, and he keeps finding excuses to come over and hang out with steve and ellie, and this fake relationship they crafted starts to turn into something real.

i still desperately want to one day write this fic, i think about it ALL the time, no joke. (or like tbh, it's au enough that i could even maybe turn it into an original fiction type of deal? but yeah who knows!! all i know is i really really want to write it one day!!)

34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life?

ooh. well. DEFINITELY 100% the amount of yearning that is infused into my fics LOL. i am one Yearny Bitch™ so that is definitely a reflection of me. and like. i also crave domesticity ksngls so i tend to write a lot of that because if i can't get it anywhere else i know i can get it from my blorbos amiright? sdlkfsdf.

but also i did write several fics (i think most ended up being in my stucky era) that were directly inspired by my life. like, i wrote a whole entire fic based on the very real social experiment i ran in my psychology of law lab in college LOL.

45. What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic?

i mean, i've been doing this for 6+ years so i really do feel like everything has improved. but that answer feels like cheating lol sooo i guess i'll be specific.

but. i do think i've gotten better at like writing more of the introspective stuff? like, i feel like a lot of my early fics were more focused on the actions and like the characters being like What Is Going On Around Me rather than What Is Going On In My Head. and i think now i can do the writing a character's thoughts and feelings much better and i can get pretty deep with it, too, if i want to take it that way. those kinds of things can really add to a fic too, so i'm glad that i've gotten better at writing them!
