(requested by mathmaticalknight)
“-and then he said, ‘Nah, the hydrostatic pressure shouldn’t be enough to-’ and just like he’d set it off with a bomb, the whole thing blew up!” Closure laughed at Nian’s tale of another’s incompetence. “You couldn’t have timed it better if you wanted to.”
“That’s so funny, oh my gosh. Can I show you something I’ve been working on, since you’ve got the time? I want a second opinion on it, and you’re just the person who’d know.” The Sarkaz merchant was giving her puppy-dog eyes.
The Nian laughed. “Of course I want to see your secret project, Ava. It wouldn’t happen to be your attempt at recreating my weapon of choice, would it?”
“Well, no,” she admitted with a note of defeat, “but it’s still important, I promise.”
“Who said it needed to be important?”
...Fair point. “Honestly, I’ve got most of it figured out, I’m mostly having trouble with securing a strong enough power supply- but I’m getting ahead of myself. Remember when you suggested I make a bigger robot?”
“Was that a suggestion?” Nian wondered aloud. “From what I remember, you had the idea, and I said it might be useful in future if Rhodes Island had deployable robots in a wider variety of sizes.”
“Well, you also said that they would be useful soon, so I worked out some of the larger logistical problems with Kal’tsit, got her approval, and with the help of some of the other members of the Engineering Department, we uh...Well, I think you should just see it for yourself.”
That’s why she was there, after all. “Knowing you guys, it should be pretty...Oh, Ava, it’s not even my birthday yet.”
“You like it, then?” Closure smirked. “Wait until you see the inside.”
“Wasn’t the engineering department hemorrhaging money, though? Oh, but you can see everyone’s work, can’t you? Even some Rhine Labs components - I’d recognize those fittings anywhere, classing Mayer right there. You’re sure it’s okay to take a peak inside?” Her eyes were shining like quicksilver themselves.
The Sarkaz nodded. “I need your advice on an internal problem, after all. I’ll slide open the cranial hatch.”
“‘Cranial hatch?’ You enter from the head?” Yes, as a matter of fact. “Hmm. This would make sense as the control center, true. You said you’re having a power issue?”
“Greyy would be able to rig up a strong enough Originum battery, but that much exposure would be far too dangerous for his health, so his physician nixed that option. I’ve asked around the department, but no one has any better solutions.”
Nian thought for a moment. “Why not just distribute the batteries across the components? Would make pinpointing deficiencies easier, provides a measure of redundancy, and means that Greyy could reasaonbly set something up, doesn’t it?”
“That’s...exactly the idea I wasn’t having. See?” Ava smiled at her; they were in the head of the mech, which had enough space for three or four people to sit comfortably. “I knew you’d have the solution.”
“Of course I would - I could optimize this design in my sleep. One question, though - why did you bring me into the head if you didn’t need to show me something malfunctioning in it?” The Nian was lounging in one of the cockpit chairs, gently spinning it on its gyro.
Closure blushed. “Yes, why ever would I want to be alone with you in a space I have the only key to? It’s a mystery, isn’t it?”
“Oh?” She licked her lips. “You know the kind of person I am, Ava.”
“I do; you’re a free spirit, a walking entropy generator who’s solving modern mechanical problems as a hobby while you subsist on the kindness of our organization. You’re an endangered species of light-hearted genius, a biologically inscrutable trickster who nonetheless operates as a Defender despite having absolutely no compulsion to...and you’re sentimental as all hell.”
Nian cocked her head. “Sentimental? How so?”
“You still have that dagger I gave you, don’t you?”
“That was...that was you?” The Nian shook her head. “No, that was-”
The Sarkaz nodded. “Before she killed you during your last reincarnation, you brandished it in self-defense - the only way to use it and not lose the blade in the process. It wasn’t enough, but I was touched that you refused to let go of it, even in death.”
“I still have the scar from when I woke up next and stabbed my arm with it. Ava, how have you stayed alive that long?”
“Oh, a couple of reasons. Sarkaz of my variety have particularly long lives, for one.” Her fangs gleamed, despite the lack of a clear light source. “For another, I wanted to see how much you changed between your revivals.”
She leaned forward in her chair. “Have I changed much to you?”
“I’d say you started from a different point, but you’re still the same beast I fell in love with the first time. Of course, I’m not sure if you’ll taste any different; honestly, this is a unique opportunity for me as a vampire, if you’d allow me the chance, but-”
“Ava.” The Nian crossed the space between them with unexpected swiftness. “Will you be able to live through another cycle? My time for this one is coming to an end sooner than I’d like if you want to properly rekindle a romance.”
Closure ran a hand along her cheek. “You’ve given me enough romance for a lifetime already...I’d rather enjoy what we have left now, truth be told.”
“In that case, you have a good stain remover in your shop? Wouldn’t want to ruin the chairs.”
“I’ll take care of it before the next department work session.” She took a few steps back, landing in another chair so she could recline seductively. “Now let’s see what a hundred years apart taught us.”

I wanna hear more about kadjal, she sounds like best friend material
ok buckle in this is goin be a long explanation teehee
ill add a read below as well its very long `>`
so before i explain who kadjal is besides her intro post i need to explain what champions are.
(edit: NVM i cant find the button. praying tumblr doesn't show this entire post in longform in the tag)
ok anyway so
in my wiz canon, a big big piece of ravenwood tradition/folklore is the concept that every half a century (50 years) a wizard who's destined to be a ravenwood student is born with more raw power / potential than others. sometimes they're on earth sometimes they're born in wizard city / the spiral.
but it's more than folklore, a), and b), it's more like clockwork. after long enough and many, many iterations, that 50 years number has proven exact. exactly 50 years after the death of one champion, another champion is born. this is like one of the primary ways of identifying one. the error on birthdates is at most a month.
there is one champion per school of magic! they're never all alive at the same time due to the birth/death lag.
nobody knows exactly why this happens (note: i had this headcanon VERY early in replaying the game - maybe level 30 onward, so i had the first proposed 'theory' by characters be that it was like a bloodline sorcerer thing, but as the idea started to fit more with canon lore, i changed it) but one of the more significant theories is that it's some sort of reincarnation loop for certain ravenwood druids' spirits, anchored to the world itself.
before my main character's time, (and he did not know this for a long time) champions took the role of bartleby's interns, basically. instead of doing errands for ambrose they sometimes also did them for bartleby. this was ravenwood's curriculum of guidance for champions -- because they needed so much guiding, and who better to do it? but after a couple of disappearances, maiming, etc. (the school being not entirely blameless), they retired this system and champions were taught mainstream with others, and the stain of the guidance system was forgotten.
the replacement system was, in fact, worse! and my main was one of the last guinea pigs for this new system, though he didn't know it.
anyway, another part of the legend is that champions all have some sort of magical title, and it changes depending on the school.
for fire (and my main character), it's lightbringer. (fun fact: i was also only like level 30 when i decided this. khrysalis was a TRIP AND A HALF for me.)
there are some other titles i have written out but i cant find them all on hand lol.
SO. now that u know all that, it doesn't sound so weird when i say, 'kadjal is a champion!'.
Kadjal (life champion) and her best friend Daniel (death champion - title 'Cryptkeeper' and later simply 'Keeper') thrived under the bartleby system. ...Mostly.
see, what all champions realize after long enough is that all the policies that ambrose puts in place about them, (no matter how veiled with special guidance from bartleby) only correspond to finding god or greatness in already marked children. i.e, in a sort of monkey typewriter way, surely one day ambrose will produce an epic hero or fulfiller of prophecy.
(im not super kept up on morganthe lore! but from what i recall, morganthe certainly could've been considered one of the earliest champions of ravenwood. but for what school?)
anywho, because of these policies, both daniel and kadjal (and the other two champions who happened to be alive at the same time) ended up attempting the scion trials at some point. and, too, they realized that they were being somewhat screwed by ambrose. being sent to 'destinies' that involved death or doom for reasons unknown.
during this time, something (that kadjal hasn't yet revealed to my main) disastrous happened at ravenwood, something so shameful (hint: a Huge Failure) that kadjal sheds her champion title and disassociates from championhood for a while until it forces itself back on her. she ends up taking a school neutral version of daniel's title after that.
anyway, so both the ambrose typewriter fuckery and kadjal's accident are why the two (daniel and kadjal) were most grateful when their revealed destiny involved finding some sort of "shrine to mortality" and helping to safeguard it -- some massive artefact of life and death.
they started in mooshu, which is where many to this day believe they stayed. but in mooshu they found legends of the wheel of mandalla and realized That is where they were supposed to be going. how did they get inside? idk. grace of raven or whatever. but then they chilled in there for like 80 years learning the customs of samsara and just becoming total monks.
and the two always had a deep bond! but in samsara they really kinda Fused as people. they spoke as one, they became deeply connected down to the level or thought, etc. and its super comfortable for them, almost an ideal existence. but it does in fact look kinda creepy from an outside perspective.
in samsara they examined the champion system wholly through the lens of mandalla, and finally found some peace. (that, AND their only exposures to ravenwood were now reduced to newspaper clippings... bound to ease a poor soul).
but yeah, she's best friend material! you've just gotta be best friends with daniel too.
she's the more neat and neurotic of the two, where daniel is more free spirited, but the two balance each other out so well you'd barely tell. so besides that, she's warm, observant, and somebody who goes through an entire box of teabags in a week and a half.
these days shes more like a mentor. after a brief introduction with my main character (carlos... permhamps you've seen him...) during the empyrea questline, she didn't see him for a while....
until the end of lemuria! how and why carlos came back ill leave unsaid for now because i know some of the mutuals are still working on finishing up lemuria, but basically, carlos came back for a chat, ended up staying to try and learn/secondary in life magic....
which was mostly kadjal's recommendation and solution! its a slightly selfish one for a couple of reasons ( 1. teaching the scion life magic... in a horrible way, it kinda fulfills that feeling of service she used to get at ravenwood helping bartleby. 2. the scion has access to tree magic!!!!! its a no brainer to teach him life magic!!! she'd love to see how the two interact 3. ....her old girl best friend was the fire champion. a kid named sheila lightbringer. just snuffed out like a candle before she even graduated. kadjal mentoring her 'reincarnation', a person that possibly held part of her soul, feels like a way of apologizing for her fate.)
but its something that will end up really good for all parties involved. 😌......

🔮 — 𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖊𝖘𝖘, 𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖘𝖘, 𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖕𝖍𝖊𝖙𝖊𝖘𝖘
fare thee well, mother mine! dry thy tears, o country dear! yet a little while, my brothers sleeping in the tomb and my own father true, and ye shall welcome me; yet shall victory crown my advent 'mongst the dead, when i have overthrown the home of our destroyers.
the mortal sun has risen and set a thousand thousand times, and CASSANDRA is yet bound to the earthly realm, the reincarnation loop continues. this time their mortal coil has taken the shape of HUNTER SCHAFER, a human born on FEBURARY 23RD, 1998, a PISCES and named LUX ALBRIGHT.
full bio / pinterest
quick stats. full name: lux dinah albright nicknames: none yet! gender identity & pronouns: trans woman & she/her birthplace: brisbane, australia nationality: australian religious affiliation: spiritual languages: english, auslan (australian sign language) occupation: ER nurse at magnetic island hospital
moral alignment: true neutral myers-briggs: infp temperament: melancholic vices: unpredictable, self destructive, insecure, sensitive, enigmatic  virtues: imaginative, intuitive, clever, self reliant, sociable power traits: occasional prophetic dreams and innate intuition locked abilities: full power of prophecy
headcanons.
pisces sun with aquarius moon and rising.
besides roller skating at kickflip park some other places you can find lux is hidden falls, koala kingdom, pretty much any beach god does this girl love the ocean, whispering willow, venus’s salon, and mad villain tattoo.
changes her hair quite often! she’s a blonde so it’s easy for her to do all sorts of colors without a problem. recently she chopped most of it off but it’s definitely not her natural color.
lux has a bad problem with feeding stray cats. she wants one but knows she doesn’t have the time to take care of it so having five felines outside her apartment window at any given time waiting for food is how she copes. someone please stop her.
a party girl at heart. you invite lux somewhere and she’s already got a bottle of tequila ready. it’s her social attitude mixed with not a very high regard for her well being. sometimes it leads her to trouble but hey at least she’s a fun (and flirty) drunk.
cries when she’s angry yes she hates it and no she can’t stop it when it’s coming.
can’t drive bisexual.
lux is very good at making friends and meeting new people but is notoriously bad at keeping them. plenty of connections she’s made have fizzled out or blown up entirely. it’s difficult to get genuinely close to her and she’s good at making people think that they know her.
while she isn't religious lux is a big fan of crystals, if anything for the comfort they can bring her. she's also very into astrology and takes things such as tarot card readings very seriously. she's accepted the fact that there's something out there that she can't explain.
her biggest fear is ending up like her mother.
more tba.
connections.
i prefer chemistry and plotting ooc but here’s a few ideas! a squad, confidante, best friend, cousins, pen pals, unrequited crush (either way), friend crush, enemies/rival, people she avoids, shared interest buddies, good/bad influence.

What’s your personality headcanon for rodan?
I’ve had this in my inbox like a week because I wanted to wait until my TF big bang rough draft was done to write this, and then i spent several days recovering from the rough draft lmfao. OKAY SO
The tl;dr is “Rodan assumes everything is normal, no matter how weird it is, and that basically informs his entire worldview. Also he wants to be everyone’s friend and fight them at all times.”
First let’s talk about instincts. Because Rodan’s species plops their eggs in volcanoes and flies off, there’s basically nothing in the way of parenting. If an adult Rodan sees a baby Rodan flopping around its volcano like a fool, it might swoop down to check on the kid and show it how to do something it’s struggling with—like, if an adult human saw a five-year-old trying to get on the subway, thought this was a perfectly normal thing for a small child to do, checked to make sure they knew which line they were taking and where their stop was, showed them how to use their card to get through the turnstile, and sent them on their way. Because Rodan eggs take so long to incubate and don’t depend on a parent sitting on the nest to do so, a hatchling might pop out long after its parents are dead, or even—as in this Rodan’s case—when no other members of its species are alive at all.
So because of that, and the way evolution ran to compensate for the fact that these hatchlings might be getting zero adult education, Rodan runs on intuition, moreso than titans who raise their kids. He was born knowing how to fly, hunt, fight, defend his nest, patrol his territory, find and judge potential mates, establish more nests. He was born recognizing many titan species that had been around most prominently during his species’s evolutionary history, and knowing whether they’re likely to be friends, foes, or food. (Mothra is “friend.” Godzilla is “proceed with caution.” Ghidorah was only active for one or two generations of Rodans, not long enough for them to evolve an instinctive reaction to multi-headed yellow fliers, so Ghidorah was a total unknown when he charged his happy flappy ass into Rodan’s territory.)
So Rodan was born with a immense amount of knowledge about the world around him.
Most of it’s wrong.
Since the day Rodan hatched, he’s been faced with nothing but weird shit. So he has no sense of scale for weirdness. Fishing boats are weird. The fact that the sky isn’t thick with giant stony pteranodons is weird. The lack of a land bridge between Alaska and Russia is weird. The Himalayas are weird. The shape of that tree over there is weird. Three-headed two-tailed lightning-spewing siren-singing hurricane-summoning golden dragons from outer space are weird. The size of the Sahara is weird. A bird accidentally flying up Rodan’s nostril is weird. Farms are weird. Bells are weird. All of the above things are equally weird to Rodan.
As a consequence? He’s extremely chill with weird shit. You throw something wild at him and he thinks “I guess this is just what we’re doing now, huh,” and rolls with it. He’s willing to immediately embrace anything as the new normal. He just finds a convenient spot to jam it into his pre-existing conception of the world and rolls with it.
Which is why, when Three-Heads McGee appears, Rodan is like, “… Well, okay, apparently this is just what other members of my species look like and i somehow didn’t know it until right now" and does what he knows he’s supposed to do when he meets one of his kind: see who can win a fight. Ghidorah beats Rodan up, Rodan expects that if they impress each other then the loser promises to follow the winner and they go make nests, so he yields and swears to follow Ghidorah; but instead they fly several hours north to knock over the weird square hives made by tiny apes? Does this mean they’re hanging out first? That’s fine, anyway Rodan swore to follow so he’s gonna keep doing that, destroying cities is now the thing that they are doing. Maybe they were always supposed to be destroying cities and he just didn’t know it. Now they’re fighting Godzilla and Mothra for some reason? Yeah, alright, sure, he’s not sure if this is a turf fight or a grudge match or just for the absolute hell of it, but Ghidorah has clearly got dibs on Godzilla which Rodan is NOT gonna argue with so Rodan’s taking Mothra. He doesn’t know why they’re fighting. He doesn’t know why they’re in Boston at all. He doesn’t know what Boston is. It didn’t exist the last time he was awake.
And days or weeks after the fight, he still doesn’t know why they were fighting. He’s got no clue Ghidorah was trying to destroy the planet. He didn’t think to ask what they were doing.
So you can throw the weirdest thing in the world at him and he just sort of assumes that it’s perfectly normal, he just hadn’t heard about it yet. Like, someday somebody is going to tell him Ghidorah is an alien, and he’s going to spend about twenty seconds freaked out, and then it will be just a fact, and nothing will ever throw him for a loop again. When everything is weird, nothing is weird.
The good side of this is it makes him very open-minded to new and different things. He’ll accept just about anything and anyone. He’s not resistant to new ideas, and he’s got an advantage over a lot of other titans socially because he’s a lot more able to accept members of other species on their own terms. The bad side is that it makes him very uncritical—he’ll accept anything presented as the norm, often even negative situations that can and should be changed. And, very frequently, he just doesn’t think to ask questions: “when did THIS become a thing??” or “why are we doing this, exactly?” or “why is this the new normal” or even “IS this the new normal??” He’s as curious as any other titan, but he rarely asks questions, because if he doesn’t see anyone else asking questions he sort of assumes that everyone else already knows what’s up and so he should be figuring it out the way they did. So he observes closely and puzzles things out alone.
Also because he assumes Everything Is Normal, he’s oddly spontaneous—in the sense that, if a massive life change is thrown his way, he’ll decide whether or not he wants to roll with it for the next thousand years in about a minute. And then he’ll stick with it. Even if he doesn’t have to, even if circumstances change so that he COULD go back to how things were before, even if it gets a lot more difficult/complicated than he was expecting—he already made his decision, this is The New Normal, his old status quo is dead, he’s sticking with it. After the decision’s been made it’s next to impossible for him to let go of it unless a new decision is offered.
One of the biggest disappointments between what Rodan expected the world to be like and what it’s actually like is that there are a whole lot less people in it. There’s like… seventeen people. (Humans don’t count as people. You can’t talk to humans. Humans are to Rodan as bees are to humans: they make interesting clever geometric homes and they’ve clearly got a very complex organization system in their colony—they can even communicate information to each other, how interesting—but they certainly aren’t people.) And this is a shame because Rodan is a major extrovert. When there are other people around to bug, Rodan is there, bugging them. He’ll just flap around getting into other titans’ business and asking what they’re up to. He’s down for joining it, whatever it is. If they don’t want him joining, he might just find somewhere nearby to perch and watch. Other titans’ opinions of him vary from “he’s very friendly and helpful” to “he’s an obnoxious pain in the ass. And he’s violent, too.”
He’s so violent.
He’s one of the only titans who just, attacks people out of nowhere, for no reason. His species has got a permanent suit of armor on, so fighting doesn’t come at the same cost and risk to them as it does to other creatures, so they’ll skip past the intimidation displays and warnings that most other species use to try to avoid a fight and just charge straight in to battle. Which is why Ghidorah managed to completely KO him and he still thinks that was a courting dance rather than a real battle; his species’s courting dances can get that violent.
But, even beyond courting dances or defending himself and his territory? He’ll still pick fights, with anyone. He’ll pick fights with total strangers. He’ll see a titan, go “Hey there my name is Rodan what’s yours!” and dive for their eyes. He thinks fighting is fun! His life is a sports anime about martial arts whose main plot is a tournament arc and he’s the plucky happy-go-lucky protagonist who’s determined to win every fight and befriend every single opponent he defeats, while everyone else thinks they’re living in a medium-difficulty survival sim. It’s impossible to teach him not to attack strangers. If a new acquaintance tells him they don’t like fighting he will respect that and not do it again, but no matter how many people tell him they don’t want to fight, he will not stop going “maybe the next one will” and trying again.
Mothra, he’s learned, does not like fighting, and he understands how her reincarnations work just enough to know that he can’t attack new Moths the way he would a New Person; but every time Mothra’s reborn he’ll hope the new one likes fighting and ask. She’s always like “it’s still no” and he’s like, “someday. Someday.” He’s not sure why Boston was the exception, but thinks maybe she likes group brawls more than one-on-one fights? Maybe he’ll fight her the next time they’re in a group and see if she’s into that.
His favorite people are the ones willing to throw down, any time, any place. He sometimes mistakes eagerness to fight back as a confirmation of friendship rather than as, like, “I hate you so much I wanna kick your ass every time I see you” or something. Friends that spar together fly far together.
Aquatic titans are the few exceptions. They freak him out. Water is already an inherently terrifying location because you can’t breathe in it, you can’t stand on it and yet can’t fly through it, it washes off your armor—it’s just Bad, it’s a Bad Place. And then there are things in it?? Things living underneath the surface, unseen and unknown, that can crawl out when you’re asleep and try to eat you if you’re not completely under your lava? Gelatinous color-changing things? Long cold things that can wrap around you and crush you? Oh no. No thank you. Rodan doesn’t mess with that stuff. To him Godzilla is no King of the Monsters, he’s Ambassador of the Nightmares. He’s one of those terrifying subterranean guys except he’s got LEGS which somehow simultaneously makes him just barely tolerable but also a bigger threat than the other water things. Godzilla is Cthulhu in a business suit: an eldritch abomination masquerading as a normal person.
And, that’s about what I’ve got worked out so far. Since I’ve spent less time writing inside Rodan’s personality than Ghidorah’s, he’s less developed than they are lol. It’s a continually evolving work in progress

Wait what. Zelda fanfic??
Me, seeing this in my inbox: “my sins have caught up with me”
I feel obligated to start this with the disclaimer that the reason I really started writing (ie actually committed to a project and started developing any inkling of skill) was so I could write unrealistic gay smut Zelda fanfic when I was 13. Also, I’ve got a Navi tattoo on my foot so I’d like to use this opportunity to just go ahead and declare the LoZ-trash throne for myself.
So yeah! I’ve been quietly working on this gigantic Skyward Sword canon-divergence/post-canon story for a couple months now? I was at my parents’ house for spring break in March and on a whim set up the Wii to play SS, which was a weird experience since I hadn’t played it for several years and on loading it up was faced with the reminder that I’d named Link “Baby~” to get a kick out of Ghirahim saying it, and after all the cringing that invoked, I was drop-kicked by the reality that my memory’s not entirely faulty and Ghirahim–and honestly all of SS–really just Is Like That.
And once I got over that bout of cringing I realized Ghirahim actually still vibes with me and 13yo me knew what she wanted and was onto something; I simultaneously redeveloped my hatred for SS!Zelda and figured I should shove all of that into one fic, because, why not? And then the stars aligned and I didn’t sleep for three days because the fanfic writer in me had taken back over and punted me to 2012.
Anyway the concept for my fic is under the cut to spare innocent souls but unrelated takeaways:
This fanfic is the only writing project I’ve literally ever had where I’ve sat down and been able to plot the entire thing in one go and have it make sense and I’m… still overwhelmed by that.
I wrote 30k in 4 days because of this bad boy *slaps fic*
I love writing for Legend of Zelda. The fandom itself is very chill and that’s great but, imo, more importantly the characters are perfect to write for. There’s so little canon characterization (esp. for Link) that you’re really just given a few core concepts and get to run free with the characterization–canon is huge so there’s infinite space to run there and, simultaneously, the vague characterization makes it easy to transpose into AUs.
Skyward Sword spoilers under the cut but it’s 2019 sooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Okay secondary (& tertiary) disclaimer: it’s absolutely a GhiraLink fic because it’s what 13yo me would have wanted and it’s what current me wants too tbh but Ghirahim is out of character because… man, I love him, but his canon behaviors are just A Little Too Much for me and I’m incapable of recreating that (and unwilling to try). Imagine if Ghirahim was like… five years more mature. And looked like Matteo Martari. And had at least five brain cells.
:’) I pretend I’m bigger than this but I’m not, and we should all know it.
Anyway the premise is basically: What if Hylia wasn’t necessarily a benevolent goddess and Demise wasn’t necessarily a world-eating demon, and it was only portrayed this way to convince the bearer of the Triforce to side with her and keep the world under her influence? What if Link wasn’t necessarily destined to be the bearer and it was essentially a role up for grabs, one that Ghirahim desperately wants for himself? What if they’re equals? What if--
What if none of that is necessarily true either, but it’s what Ghirahim tells Link to further his own plans?
And it sort of goes on like that for a while.
It’s super long and starts out with canon and follows the entire game with minimal divergence, with the exception that Ghirahim works with Link to temper Fi’s blade because Link is slow, Ghirahim can’t do it himself, and also it’s kind of fun for both Ghirahim and I to watch Link torment himself about having Friendly Feelings for his rival only for Ghirahim to stomp on his throat. Also, Ghirahim rather bluntly comes out and warns Link that he’s being used and Link, who’s reasonably resentful about how Hylia’s using him and his feelings for Zelda, sort of just goes
Tumblr media
Alas, it’s not enough, Link is a Good BoyTM and Demise gets sealed away and Hylia wins, canon as usual. Except Link likes Ghirahim an embarrassing amount and Ghirahim manages to bind to him before Demise can completely crush him, which is great!
Because now we’re like 90k in the hole and finally getting somewhere!
Ghirahim’s in an absolutely horrid state after the battle with Demise and Link, after his own recovery period, is pretty desperate to get away from Hylia, so they (angstily) agree to do whatever it takes to repair Ghirahim, which is basically to temper him the way Fi was tempered but with demonic flames instead. The flames are in temples based off of Ocarina of Time’s Shadow Temple, and Twilight Princess’s Temple of Time & Snowpeak Top.
So they’re alone on the road together for months, and: Emotion! Angst! Saving each other’s lives! Several deadly sins, but especially lust! Slow reveal of Ghirahim’s Tragic BackstoryTM! Quicker reveal of Ghirahim bathing because emotionally I’ll forever be 13 years old and will never get over my desire for stupid flamboyant villains! Ghirahim reveals magic that doesn’t just throw kunais, like heating spells that require them to cuddle when it’s cold and they’re camping in the wild!
What. I already said I’m trash and not above anything. Cuddling is the fastest way to a hero’s heart and that’s the hill I’m dying on.
Oh. Important: I headcanon that Fi doesn’t actually have to physically manifest to speak with Link, and could just talk to him in his head--so now that Ghirahim is sword-bound to Link, he’s the one in Link’s head. That generally goes about as well as can be expected and is why Ghirahim is almost constantly physically manifested, because Hero Trauma has made Link’s head a MESS
Hylia also happens to be able to weasel into Link’s head, which is a source of Big Angst, bc Link has definitely caught feelings for one (1) stupid tall demon, and Ghirahim...
I mean, I said Ghirahim has five brain cells and at this point that’s more than even I have, so he’s got a plan that’s much bigger than what Link knows of. One way or another, he’s going to be one to pry that Triforce from Link, he’s going to be the one to live forever in a reincarnation loop, and he’s going to be the one who decides which way the world tilts in the grand scheme of things. 😈
I’m not posting it anywhere yet because honestly I’m an overwriter and self indulgent and frankly it’s a huge concept!!! I’m convinced this fic is gonna be at least 250k words so I don’t want to post it until it’s completely written bc the odds of me drafting half of it and then giving up are Very High. But like. I have so much fun with this project (currently titled En Passant, after the chess move, for, uh, symbolic purposes I guess), it’s super relaxing to work on in comparison to original fiction 😍
If you’ve read this to the end I owe you my soul and I am so sorry for my nonsense.

Rebel Captain Stories I’ll write in the next 5/6 weeks
Before I start with the infinite list of Rebel Captain fanfiction I’m going to write, I need to say this: I NEED A BETA READER. English is not my native language and it’s always a bit difficult to find my own mystakes. So if you have time, are willing to plot with me, you know english grammar well, and want to discuss with me rebelcaptain’s headcanons and stuff, and also have the time to do some betareading just write me and I’ll be happy! This are sort of in the order I am writing/plan to write them.
1. Sequel to 450 : Wrong number Modern!AU, Jyn and Cassian started dating, they are awkward and goofy and I love them, there will be a lot of fluff and love and stupid text messages because that’s what the part one was all about.
2. Beyond free will and fate Norse mythology in space!AU, chapter one is already out to get and idea of the plot you can find here the aesthetic.
3. The italian job!AU Whole plot can be found here. Basically modern AU that follows the plot of the movie, probably a one shot, between 5 and 10K (thanks again for allowing me to write this!)
4. Opposite side of the Law!AU I already have the aesthetic for this but I haven’t posted it yet. Basically Cassian is a young detective whose career have been shaped by this unsolved case about a missing teenager that took place when he was just a policeman. This case is/was his obsession and just when he thinks he has moved on he finds something on a murder scene that reminds him of it. Jyn Erso thinks that she has been really good at making every trace of her old life disappear, except there is now this nosy detective that is asking too many questions... She’ll soon realize that befriending him in order to gain his trust is not the best course of action as her line of work doesn't exactly get along with Cassian's. Detective/Thriller/Angst/I can’t wait to write this, it will be good I swear.
5. Pacific Rim!AU Basically it follows the movie plot, Cassian as Raleigh, Jyn as Mako, Bodhi as Newt, Krennic as Hannibal Chau and more shit. For the complete plot look here.
6. Everybody lives Sorry, I’m writing this in Italian as it’s a bit complicated and it aims to connect all the canon: original trilogy, star wars rebels, comics. And so on. Might translate it when finished.
7. Road to Oz!AU Where Jyn is a very pissed Dorothy who really wants to go back to Kansas, but travelling towards Emeral City she meets a bunch of interest people and she start to appreciate Oz more than she thinks. Plot here.
8. The Three Musketeers (in space)!AU The book, not the show. This is not completely defined yet, but I really want to write this. I was thinking about a space setting that reminded of 1600′s France. So there is an Empire, but it’s not a negative thing - or else there is a Republic and there are the guardians of the Republic, so called Musketeers. Similar to jedi’s just not mystically powerful. The story won’t exactly follow that of the book as I’ll have to reshape a couple of things but it’s most sure that we are going to have Cassian, Chirrut, Baze as the three Musketeers, Jyn as D’Artagnan, Bodhi and K2 as Planchet and Grimaud. I’m all for the canon in the 3M’s book, but I’m going to take some poetic licence here. Anyway I still have to think this out properly.
9. Time Loop One of them (or both of them) keep living the same day/s again, and again. They die on Scarif and Jyn wakes up in the prisoner transportation as Liana Hallik / Cassian wakes up in his room on Yavin 4, minutes before departing for the search of Galen Erso’s daughter. And if at first they just don’t understand what’s happenening, it starts to get frustrating and painful because it’s clear that the force wants something from them, but what? What is it that it wants? Why do they keep dying?
10. Reincarnation!AU Throught time and space. Lots of history, lots of angts, much death, very cry. I promise tears and I promise it will be worthed. All reincarnation AU should be worthed, I just need a good reson for it to happen in the first place.
12. Pirates / Space Pirates Seriously, I can’t live without a pirate!AU. Space pirates would be even better but the universe would have to be much like that of Treasure Planed (Disney edition).
13. Imperial!Jyn!AU BECAUSE WHY NOT? Except I don’t have a plot.
Will be updated as new ideas come to my mind. STILL NEED A BETA READER.
