So the other TFONE Prime cards came out, so what I’ll do is just cover the ones I don’t have much to say about here.
First up Solus Prime.
Tumblr media
Solus has had the weirdest design philosophies. This design seems to be primarily based on the Prime Wars webseries look.
Tumblr media
Which is the superior design vs her original look which has this weird HR Geiger Species vibe I’m not fond of.
Tumblr media
Solus’ primary claim to fame is being the first female Transformer, and the only one among the Primes, making most of the famous weapons in the general lore, and pry most tragic: getting shot by The Fallen and dying. Her body serving as the basis for the Well of Allsparks, meaning she functionally given birth to all Transformers going forward. There’s a… lot to unpack there, not helped is shows like RiD15 and Cyberverse use her name as an exclamation/cuss in “Sweet Solus Prime!” Unlike the older lore, ONE Solus dies by Sentinel’s actions, absolving Megatronus of the matter, which honestly I kinda prefer. Whether Solus and Megs were romantically involved here is unknown. I think what I’m most surprised by is the movie resisted giving Elita Solus’ Cog, since I guarantee older stuff would’ve done that. Outside of both being girls tho’, Solus does fit Elita’s hard working personality more than Alchemist and Onyx.
Nexus Prime
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, I’m kinda disappointed about this one. His gimmick is he’s the first Combiner, which again contradicts Aligned’s claim Amalgamous is the first converting robot with the first Cog. The ONE design pushes it more into a G1 Blitzwing direction, with vestigial nods to the combiner idea in that he looks to combine from a jet and tank in particular, again mirroring Blitzwing.
Though it also could be a reference to Flywheels.
Tumblr media
Nexus Prime’s original designs nevertheless make his Combiner gimmick expressed more clearly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it feels like a bit of a downgrade to me. His gun shield looks like it formed from a tank component to me, but that could be a stretch… Maybe he really IS a Duocon in this universe.
Liege Maximo
Tumblr media
If there’s one thing Liege is known for, it’s not having a consistent design.
As we’ve gone from whatever this is supposed to be…
Tumblr media
To Loki because the MCU was really popular back then.
Tumblr media
The new design still uses Marvel Loki as the basis, but dials it back considerably, instead making him more of a generic knight. Notably the inclusion of a sword is interesting, as Aligned states his weapons are poisonous Legion Darts. Maximo’s initial concept painted HIM as the first Decepticon, of which Megatron and the others are descended from, an evil being created by Primus to counterbalance the first Prime via G2. Because Megatronus later inherited a lot of this, he instead was cast as more of a manipulative trickster, still evil, but not to the same extent as his G2 version was. Liege Maximo is also the Prime of false starts, as his G2 and IDW selves were set up as the next major villain but cancellation saw this unresolved. G2 Liege Maximo saw conclusion in what was unofficial fan fiction written by Furman, while IDW Liege Maximo was unceremoniously killed by Shockwave-Onyx in the main book. His only role that saw a proper conclusion was in RiD15, where he was the villain of the day in a chapter book causing problems for the Autobots because he was bored in the Prime Realm and wanted a cheap thrill. RiD is also the only place his Loki like characteristics were played around with. Because the Primes in ONE appear to all be benevolent, it’s not clear if Megatronus or Liege Maximo are still supposed to be the evil ones or not, but the more heroic looking Liege says no to me.
Amalgamous Prime
Tumblr media
The mad lads finally made this horrifying thing work.
Tumblr media
Pushing it into a four armed ED-209 direction is much better, and frankly going by his more “primitive” build, they can easily make future Shockwave toys into Amalgamamous. This guy’s claim to fame in the modern lore is being the first actual Transformer with the first Cog, which again is contradicted by Nexus and (possibly) Onyx also being able to Transform… Aligned lore says his Cog informed all future robots on Cybertron of the ability to Transform, but ONE streamlines it that ALL the Primes had Cogs and the ability to Transform, making Amalgamous somewhat redundant. Aligned also claims his direct descendants are “Shifters”, Transformers with omni transformation, rather than the standard robot to vehicle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aligned didn’t really do much with this concept because you can’t realistically make a toy of such a thing nor is it feasible to have them as reoccurring characters for both expenses and being OP, with TFP Makeshift and RID15 Pseudo being depicted as shadow creatures in their default mode. The Shifters haven’t returned post Aligned so I think it’s an abandoned concept. Future stuff I would assume would instead say Triple Changers and Six Changers are AP’s direct descendants since they’re much easier to work with in toy and fiction. His new Robot Mode makes me think he turns into a tank, but I’m also not sure if his head is his chest or not….
Vector Prime
Tumblr media
Aside from his head and colors, the TFONE version is straight up the original Galaxy Force version.
Tumblr media
Though his colors evoke one of Vector Prime’s influences, the Marvel G1 Last Autobot.
Tumblr media
Vector Prime’s best known role is in Cybertron/Galaxy Force, where as the Primus appointed guardian of time, he joined the Autobots of the present day to find the Cyber Planet Keys to close the Black Hole that threatened the universe, as it was the end of time. Galaxy Force also showed Vector Prime can manipulate time, but it was a drain on his energy, and using it too much would kill him. Notably he used a brief display of this early on to save the kids and Mini-Cons from certain death, but I guess this version of Vector couldn’t do the same to defeat Sentinel & the Quints…

Soo..i saw your TFP oc, Mason so i decided to ask questions about him
How did he found out about autobots?
What's his favourite thing?
Who's his favourite autobots?
Does the autobots like him?
How does mason view the autobots
Does mason have a favourite person?
I'm so hyper about your oc so much :D
You're asking me about my OCS???? Oh my Primus, I've been waiting for this!
Tumblr media
Mason is a character I've had floating in my mind void for awhile; he's originally from northern Wisconsin, but moved to Jasper to distance himself from their ex. (No, Miko, he's not going to talk about it.)
He has vitiligo, but it doesn't really bother them. He used to be really self conscious as a kid, even stealing his mom's makeup to try and cover it up. As they got older though, Mason came to accept and love his skin, because it's ultimately a part of him, and what makes them unique. (Ratchet found it fascinating, and that ended with them having an in depth conversation about dermatology)
Mason uses He/They, although he doesn't have a preference. His parents got him into geology and bushcraft, which is how he met the bots. (See above; I may write a drabble, idk)
As for favorite bots, Mason will never tell you openly. Honestly though, Ratchet and Optimus hold a special place in their heart. He has a strong bond with his parents, but those two have kind of become stand-in Dads for Mason.
His favorite thing? Probably his jean jacket. It was a gift from their grandpa, given after they came out. It was a reminder that he was loved and accepted by their family, no matter what the world said.
As for the Autobots, they like him plenty. Mason introduced a lot of new concepts to them, like gender identity and orientation, so there's no shortage of interesting conversations. As a diagnosed autistic, there are many times where they have to explain to the bots how it affects him as opposed to a neurotypical. (And if Optimus learned a few things about himself over the course of these conversations, well...)
Mason and Jack get along the best; they bond over their shared love for bushcraft and survivalism. He's almost positive that Miko is giving him gray hairs; but he admires her bravery. Even if it is a bit misplaced. As for Raf, yeah Mason's basically adopted him. Raf is his child now. ("How have none of your parents noticed you guys gone all the time?!")
They've honestly become the Dad of the group as the oldest guy besides Agent Fowler, and this extends to the bots. Mason can often be found scolding someone for doing something stupid or talking down some argument in the base. Their piercing glare is the reason Agent Fowler doesn't dare shout at Optimus anymore. Bro barely got one "PRIME!" out before Mason was nearly at his throat. Optimus may be a big bot, but Mason looked at him for half a second and immediately identified him as baby™. He and Fowler are ok now, mostly. Mostly.
That's basically all I've put together; thanks again for asking about my characters! I was kinda on the fence about sharing my ocs, mainly since I haven't made a lot of them since I was younger. I may explore that more often now.
Hope this was satisfactory, lol. I'm not the best at explaining certain things. I'm just a nerd who likes big robot Bois.

Missing children headcanons because why not
Susie Hopkins
• Daughter of Patricia and Leon Hopkins, and older sister of Samantha Hopkins
•    Died at 10, tying for the second oldest of the five children
•   Died first (minus Charlie) by ingesting antifreeze
• Stuffed into Chica the Chicken
•      Leon owned Jr’s, that bar in Midnight Motorist. That’s how he already knew William and Henry. Susie was probably friends with Elizabeth
•     Wealthy, but not spoiled
•     Sweet, cheery and tends to anthropomorphize, but can be very naïve
Jeremiah "Jeremy" Belanger
• Son of Ken and Suong Belanger, and younger brother of Thùy Belanger
•   Also died at 10, tying for second oldest with Susie
• Died second by being left in a subzero freezer overnight and contracting hypothermia/sepsis
•    Stuffed into Bonnie the Bunny
•     Parents both worked late, so he was often left alone with a nanny or day camp
•     Very much resented this, came to be very independent
•   Very smart, reads a lot
•    Secretly a nerd, loves science fiction
•    Seems pretentious at first, but all he really wants to do is infodump about robots.
• Gay af but it’s the 80s and he’s a small isolated child. Has a big ol schoolboy crush on Fritz
Fritz Armstrong-Lopez
• Son of Manuel Lopez and an unknown (to him anyway) woman with the last name Armstrong
•   Died at 11, making him the oldest of the missing children
•   Died third from a split skull via a fire axe
•   Stuffed into Foxy the Pirate Fox
• Absolutely loves the concept of pirates. Will not shut up about it. You’re gonna hear pirate facts whether you like it or not.
• Loves dogs. Would probably have a dog if they didn't move around so much. He even had a name picked out and everything: Rocky
• Likes to get into things he rather shouldn’t
• Gay af but doesn’t know you can do that yet. Is happily oblivious to Jeremy’s crush
• Saw Jeremy get lured away by Afton, but as nobody else did Afton was released. Fritz being the catalyst for his original imprisonment was the reason Will targeted him next
• His father, Manuel, tries using his job to investigate William and look for his son but ends up being put in a springlock suit by William and dying, becoming Shadow Bonnie
Gabriel Rogers
• Son of Theodore and Adeline Rogers, elder twin of Cassidy Rogers, and grandson of Johan Rogers
• Died at 9, tying with Cassidy for youngest of the missing children
• Died fourth from a stab wound to the heart
• Stuffed into Freddy Fazbear
• Quite mellow and carefree, with his only concern being that everyone is happy. Strangely opposite to Freddy Fazbear, he doesn’t tend to lead, instead preferring to be a mediator to his more confrontational sister
• Likes video games and space travel. Is obsessed with the first moon landing.
• Hs a small growing grudge against his sister. Although he loves her and they’re best friends, he feels a small bit of resentment about his sister getting so much attention while he was basically neglected by both parents (this comes to a head during a potential UCN fic, where he says that Cassidy thinks the world revolves around her and leaves her alone in her hellspace. I like to think they resolved it in the afterlife though)
Cassidy Rogers
• Daughter of Theodore and Adeline Rogers, younger twin of Gabriel Rogers, and granddaughter of Johan Rogers
• Died at 9, tying with Gabriel for the youngest of the missing children
• Died last from a slit throat and a springlocking
• Stuffed into Golden Freddy AKA Fredbear
• Angy. So very, very angy
• Very prickly and defensive. The only reason she doesn’t start more fights she loses is because Gabriel steps in before things get worse
• Has onset retinitis pigmentosa, which means that, as of her time of death, she had no night vision whatsoever and her peripheral vision was dwindling. Had she not died, she would have eventually lost her central vision as well and been declared legally blind
• Her mother basically figured that she wouldn’t be able to do anything, and therefore did the Toph thing where Cassidy was stripped of all agency. This led to her acting out in the outbursts we see from her
• Was close with her grandpa before he died in 1987, as he was the only person besides her brother who wouldn't treat her like she was completely helpless. They used to go fishing
• Likely aroace and/or gray-asexual but doesn’t know it

Zim is 100% an adult. This is really shouldn't be up for debate, Jhonen has stated that Zim is older than any living human and Zim has made statements hinting at such in the show itself ("I've been flying ships since before you were born, you sad little Earth Monkey" - quote from NanoZim, literally the third episode of the series).
Jhonen has also made it clear on a few different occasions that Zim is an adult by his species standards, and not just a child of a long lived race like some fans have suggested. In the commentary for Megadoomer he said (I'm paraphrasing) "Zim's rivalry with Dib is sad, because he's basically an old man."
All that having been said, though I do hate ZADR (Zim and Dib Romance) and voted for it as the worst ship, my hatred of it has nothing to do with the age gap.
I'm not an anti and can separate fiction from reality, and there are a lot of age gap ships I DO like in other media. Plus, hating a ship based on one being an Adult and the other being a kid is kinda dumb, when you can just like... Time skip and age the characters up. It's especially dumb in ZaDR's case since it's not like Zim will physically be any older when Dib is an adult. Irkens age slowly so he will look the same. If you would be willing to ship Zim with, say, Membrane on the premise that they are both adults even if Zim is probably hundreds of years old, then theoretically you should have no problem shipping Zim with Dib once the latter ages into an adult.
Instead, my reasons for hating ZaDR are as follows:
1. Personal preference when it comes to genders when shipping. I am straight guy - therefore yaoi has zero appeal to me. I'm only into straight ships and Yuri.
2. I don't like / understanding shipping characters that canonically hate each other. Mind you, I'm not talking about characters that are simply enemies due to ideological reasons, but who's feelings are not as strong as hate, and even flirt or have feelings for each other in canon (ala Batman x Catwoman, or Esdeath loving Tatsumi in Akame ga Kill) I'm talking characters that ACTUALLY hate each other. Zim and Dib may have a few frenemy situations, but they are outnumbered by the moments where Zim legit tries to kill Dib, Dib delights in the idea of Zim being dissected, or go out of their way to screw over or make the other miserable in the most petty of ways.
3. Irkens, as a species, are canonically aroace. They are born from test tubes, and have no genitalia or understanding of sexual desire.
Jhonen has also stated they have no concept of romance. Even friendship seems a foreign concept to them. We can see that in the episode Bestest Friends and Jhonen has stated in a Q&A that (once again, paraphrasing since I don't have the exact quote ready) "the closest thing to camaraderie among Irkens is the mutual understanding of 'I'll try not to accidentally trample you death when rushing to the taco stand since we're supposed to be on the same side'"
I'll admit, I suppose it's not out of the question that individual Irkens could be exception to the aroace part if their brains / paks happen to work differently. Tak, for example, has been theorized to be a defective since she seems more creative and emotionally intelligent than most Irkens, and since she's only in one episode, it's harder to have a full grasp on her character to say for sure she couldn't fall for someone (Tak x Dib is pretty much the only Invader Zim ship I have some fondness for.)
But that really does not seem to be the case for Zim. Though he's shown some degree of complexity, such as a fondness for some of his robot henchmen like GIR and Minimoose, nothing in the show, Netflix special or comics leaves me to believe that those differences go as far as a capacity and desire for romance.
I could maybe see Zim and Dib being friends in some alternate universe if you REALLY stretch Zim's capacity for self reflection (of which he has none in canon) but never lovers
Also, tbh, I don't think my hatred of ZaDR would be so strong if it didn't take up such a huge portion of Invader Zim fanart, fan fiction and fan discussion. Its annoying to shift through the the ZaDR content when searching the Invader Zim tag on Tumblr, deviantart, AO3 and other sites. It just makes my disdain for it even stronger.
Which controversial ship is the best
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Explanations under the cut!
Galadriel/Halbrand (Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power) 60 reblogs - 5614 words total.
I didn't read it but it's something about homophobia and racism and misogyny if you like or dislike the ship, i'm not sure which one.
Katara/Aang (Avatar The Last Airbender) 58 comments - 65 reblogs - 796 words.
The arguing actually happened on the Katara/Zuko poll, but it was about this ship. Mostly Zutara shippers complaining about Kataang shippers but i saw maybe 2 kataang shippers in the comments. I repeat: Kataang is on here because it was incredibly controversial on my blog
Laios/Toshiro (Dungeon Meshi) A few comments and reblogs, 228 words out of what I can count + someones 644 word post that was linked to me.
The reason for this is because I jokingly used the tag "shuro has the worst case of allistic disease i've ever seen", because the way he exploded at Laios reminded me of the experiences i've had with allistic people who secretly hate me but never told me. This means I hate asian people and think only white men can be autistic.
Shiro/Keith (Voltron: Legendary Defender) 43 comments
This ship is pseudo-incest and a man grooming a teenager because they met when Keith was an unspecified younger age and Shiro was an unspecified older age. I'm gonna pass away
Zim/Dib (Invader Zim) A few comments and an ask but it stopped quickly
I haven't watched Invader Zim, but I allowed it on the premise that Zim is seen as a child (because I don't like adult/child ships obv). But Zim's age is a big debate.
Yugi Mutou/Yami Yugi (Yu-Gi-Oh) Many reblogs saying the same thing about me
I haven't watched the anime. I saw the same guy twice with the same name and tagged it as "selfcest" incase someone had the tag filtered. This singular tag caused multiple comments and reblogs telling me that it's not selfcest and that it's offensive to DID systems to call it selfcest. I almost snapped here, honestly.
Time to vote! Explode my notes if you want, there's multiple good choices to pick from.

many thoughts head full. time for Byrne as Aura’s mentor thoughts dump
the Blackquills move in across the street when Kay’s a couple years old and despite being like three years apart in age she and Simon become friends in the way you do when you’re the only similar-age kids on the block. And one time when Byrne’s over to pick Kay up he runs into the elusive older Blackquill child as she’s in the garage working on something for her robotics club. It’s been a while since he last built much himself (especially since Kay was born), but he still remembers enough to give a few pointers, and while Aura’s initially skeptical she eventually starts growing tremendously over someone taking her seriously and actually being able to teach her. When she gets a little older she picks up babysitting Kay because they get along well and she’s used to watching Simon, she might as well make some money too. Plus she gets to use Byrne’s stuff for tinkering as long as she keeps Kay out of it and doesn’t set stuff on fire etc (not that he doesn’t let her anyway, but it’s a nice excuse)
Kay has the kind of baby lesbian crush on Aura that happens on older girls where you think it’s just that you think they’re really cool. Kay uses this against Simon when they’re older because he always reacts to her mentioning it and she thinks it’s hilarious.
this is a rich dumping grounds for Byrne headcanons too because I feel like he sees a lot of himself at that age in Aura when she’s late teens/college years (although he was more trouble, being that I think he was actively a hacker for shits when he was getting his engineering degree as well as highly rebellious). Aura shaves her head and her mother’s venting about it to Byrne and he’s like well I did the same thing when I was a teenager (and when she says it’s different for a girl he has to hold his tongue from saying he was too at the time). But he worries about making sure she’s headed down the right path because he could have gotten into a whole lot of legal trouble if he’d gotten caught, and potentially gotten into actual nasty crime stuff if things had gone differently.
And.....Aura and Calisto are the same age. The potential for that massively flavoring how he interacts with both of them. It only softens him and Badd up towards Calisto even more when she first tells them her story. (and in an “it’s funny because it’s mean” kind of parallel that I have no idea how it would even happen, I’ve had the thought that damn can’t believe both the Blackquill siblings caught feelings for the spy who murdered their mentor)
post-aai, Kay’s trying to do some updates or just figure out more features on Little Thief but really has no idea what she’s doing, and it’s not as though that kind of tech is common. So she finds herself at the Comos Space Center facing Aura and cautiously asking if she remembers her (meanwhile Aura looking at this kid who she’s slowly recognizing and both being happy to see her and being forced to re-confront the grief of having her mentor taken from her). But then eventually it’s Aura teaching Kay how to work on this little bit of tech stuff and full circle stuff aaaaaaa
and then there’s so much you could do with this in the context of aa5. Kay reacting to Simon’s situation as former friends. her and/or Badd trying to reason with Aura at the end about not going through with her plan and she throws out something about sometimes you have to go outside the legal system when it fails you that’s hauntingly familiar to how Byrne would talk about the yatagarasu stuff (ok wait I checked and in reminiscence vk says that “[faraday] once tried to explain to [vk] a way of punishing "those who cannot be brought to court".“ And you can’t tell me Aura wouldn’t twist that to be talking about how much she thinks Athena is the real guilty one here, fuck me that’s so good). Also I know this one is going even more into personal preference/headcanon stuff but I’m also fascinated by the concept that you could draw a lot of parallels between Badd and Aura, they’re just in slightly different circumstances of knowing things post byrne/metis’s murder, I feel like I could write a whole essay on that. (and only tangentially related but it’s a damn shame the real bobby fulbright is too young to have been a detective when Kay was a kid because could you imagine how much potential that would have in an aa5 au where Kay’s there? (because I headcanon that Kay spent a lot of time being watched by the detectives at the precinct).)

  I HAVE AN IDEA OF AN UNDERTALE FIC SO STAY WITH ME;
so it’s basically human!cast and i wanted to play around with everyone so here we gooo
they retain the forms of humans going out and doing day to day activities since prejudice against monsters is still so relevant. the way they do so is through glamour technology created by dr. gaster & alphys.
sans & papyrus serif
- although there isn’t a set ethnicity for any of the monsters, i do imagine them being poc. personally, both brothers for me are tan / brown skinned with light eyes and white hair. sans is about 5’2 whilst papyrus is about 6’1, 6’3 with his boots on.
- sans is a senior in high school whilst papyrus is a freshman. the two are both top students but sans tends to ditch class because he can’t be bother to go. the only class he willingly goes to is his father’s, mr. gaster’s AP physics.
- since he got to the surface, sans does weed every so often when he gets stressed out. papyrus knows this and tries to stop him but he still does it behind it back since it helps him relax.
- papyrus is apart of the culinary arts club at the highschool despite his failures of spaghetti. he still is determined to learn and has the extensive knowledge of pasta varieties. he also enjoys going to DND sessions in the RPG club.
- although sans was forced into robotics by his father, he genuinely enjoys being in jazz band! he plays the trombone and tried to pick up the tuba but it was too big for him.
undyne ryba
- ryba is the czech word for fish! quite fitting considering undyne is a...y’know fish :-)
- undyne still has her red hair ofc! her eyes are now blue but protrude out like a fish. she’s quite pale in appearance but is quite freckly all over. there are also dry patches of skin where her scales use to be! she stands around 5’9
- undyne is a junior but is the captain of the girl’s softball team. she’s their top player because of all her training from the royal guard and seems to play at every game. she has definitely fought someone after a game when her coach wasn’t there.
- the concept of having heterosexuality being the norm doesn’t really exist in the underground ( because love is love and monsters know that ) so she was confused when people had to ask if she was into girls because she thought everyone just liked who they liked.
alphys lagarto
- in brazilian portuguese, lagarto translates to lizard. again, because you know...alphys is like a lizard :,)
- alphys is quite short and stocky in appearance, being tan skinned as wel. she has long curly blonde hair but it’s always seen tied up into a bun or messily put together with a headband. i do imagine her having buck teeth though, personally i find it fits with the ‘geeky’ kinda look she has. she probably only wears sweaters and jeans, plus a TON of anime shirts in the girliest color. she’s about 5’3-5’4
- she’s a junior & one of the top students in her grade! she’s sorta known as a teacher’s pet since alphys seems to suck up to all her teachers by being a pushover. she’s in AP science with sans and always clings on to him.
- she’s a member of the anime club and an avid on goer of the robotic club, although she doesn’t talk in either and prefers just to watch from a corner. whenever the topic of magical girl series comes up, she will RANT about toyko mew mew until someone brings up something new. she’s also really into musicals but specifically hamilton, be more chill, and dear evan hansen.
mettaton and blooky revenant
- napstablook shortened his ‘human’ name to np, requested solely by mettaton. personally, he thinks it has a nice ring to it and he could use it for his new tracks. he still prefers if people call him blook or blooky.
- the word revenant can be described as, ‘anyone who comes back after being gone for a long while’.
- mettaton is tall and thin in appearance, looking quite androgynous in looks. personally i see him having a fluffy mullet. he’s pale in appearance but his dark eyes and hair stand out from the rest of his look. he’s in theatre and fashion club and is quite popular for not only being a great performer but his growing social media platforms where he does makeup tutorials and outfits of the day.
- blooky is only average height and dresses kinda like a skater boy. like mettaton, he’s very pale but differs with his platinum blonde hair and pale blue eyes. he’s popular on soundcloud for making lo-fi hip-hop beats and often accompanies mettaton during rehearsals, sitting in the back whilst he’s programming. he also skates in his free-time.
frisk, chara, and asriel dreemur
- as for frisk, chara, and asriel...i imagine that chara and asriel are older than their sibling by a year. frisk has just started middle middle school and the two are basically frisk’s body guards.
- although chara often has tendencies to be off0putting to other students, their adopted mother, toriel does work at the school as a monster history teacher. when they get detention, it’s always in her class.
- asriel is a nerdy kid and is part of the drawing club! most of his notebooks are filled with his oc, the god of hyperdeath.
- whilst frisk strictly goes by them/them pronouns, chara goes they/she but both of them are afab non-binary in my AU. although frisk is younger than their siblings, they are quite popular with their older classmen and seem to have friends in the dandiest of places.
i hope yall enjoy this idea! let me know if i should continue.

naturally was going "hmm what kind of fins (fish) would young taylor in the bathtub wish for. how would we know what they think would be the best fish tail to have" & then was just thinking of Younger Taylor Hcs just in general. got any you'd wanna share, or like, any faves from what's been provided either as unofficial ideas or via those glimpses of info in the show's text. Fave can be in a "truly enjoy this" way & or simply more of a "truly Thinking About This An Extra Lot" sense lol. They
Boy Do I… first, a listing of everything we Know from canon about their childhood / early life / family:
taylor grew up in “a place like” connerty’s small apartment where “the heat pipes bang practically all night” in the winter [2x11]
taylor’s mom would deem the apartment they rented for her & douglas too expensive, and if she & douglas were shopping for furniture, they’d argue about how much things cost [4x07]
taylor never thought they’d be thinking about living a life where they book private jets [2x09]
the masons’ home is hundreds of miles from any body of water (as shown here) and douglas had to fly to nyc to see taylor [4x03]
douglas figures taylor’s mom won’t miss him getting in her way back home [4x03]
taylor has a sister; when she gets married, in michigan, taylor is part of the wedding party [2x09]
at a young age, taylor was always measuring information around them, and sweet / affectionate, especially toward douglas [4x03]
taylor’s favorite cereal as a kid was frosted flakes [4x09]
taylor was never really douglas’s “little girl” like he claims [4x03]
the first time douglas brought taylor to his lab, it meant a lot to them, and the next day they gave him designs to remake it [4x06]
douglas taught taylor: “don’t just have an idea, build the model that proves it” [4x07]
according to douglas, taylor gets the “unyielding compulsion to get it right” from him, and their relationship was best when they “kept things mathematical” [4x03]
douglas wishes he could have built real wealth / success and given it all to taylor [4x03]
wendy mentions to taylor that douglas has “exploited your need for his approval,” and taylor agrees that douglas only cares about his own advancement rather than being a father first [4x07]
douglas dislikes the military / the government [4x06]
taylor is surprised by douglas quoting a pop song [4x07]
when taylor was younger, the bathtub was the only place they could go to be alone and think, and they’d press their legs against the sides hard enough to make them go numb [3x11]
taylor started playing online poker at age 12 under the screen name ZackCody892 and played up to 16 tables at a time (and for thousands of hours) [2x03]
douglas was fired from his job at an aerospace firm when taylor was in 7th grade. this firing damaged their relationship with him and “affected the home life.” for years, taylor thought douglas had been fired so that the firm could steal his invention, and only found out the truth from his personnel file [2x11, 4x05, 4x06]
taylor has had 927 hours of therapy prior to their session with dr. gus, and that number hasn’t changed at their first session with wendy [2x03, 2x08]
douglas, in bringing taylor food and coffee, claims they rarely take the time to look after themself [4x04]
taylor used to lie to themself and others but is now past that, and knows “how hard it is to have things inside you that you can’t communicate” and “what it’s like to face public scrutiny over who you are” [2x08, 3x02, 4x04]
when taylor reminds douglas about their pronouns, he says “this talk again?”, implying it’s a discussion they’ve had before [4x03]
taylor once got into a bar fight with a high school classmate (it’s unclear whether they were still in high school at the time) after seeing y tu mamá también in a theater [5x07]
taylor was active in occupy wall street in college [2x10]
taylor played poker in college against classmates, grad students, & professors, but their opponents kicked them out for winning too much; additionally, the competitive aspect made them sick (described as “malaise” or “vertigo-like symptoms”) [2x03, 4x12]
taylor planned to go to chicago for grad school and study with eugene fama [2x02]
mafee picked taylor as his intern because they were the only applicant who wasn’t boring / didn’t care about the same bullshit that everyone from wharton or harvard did [5x04]
douglas initiated the visit to taylor, claiming it was because he’d missed them, after not being ready to see them even though taylor’s mother wanted to visit countless times [4x03, 4x07]
taylor is trying to be “everything to their father” in funding his company, and neither of them will be able to come back from taylor being forced to betray him [4x06, 4x07]
wow that’s a long list. and now, my own thoughts and extrapolations:
taylor grew up somewhere in the west / midwest with their parents and sister, who’s a few years older than them, in a house small enough that they had to share a bedroom with her. hence, needing to hide out in the bathtub to get any space & time alone.
from very early on, taylor was douglas’s favorite child and he was their favorite parent — douglas saw taylor’s intelligence & insight (and saw himself in them) and chose to put time & effort into teaching / guiding / molding them, hoping they’d one day follow in his footsteps / support his ambitions, and taylor liked that attention & recognition. (douglas’s attitude toward taylor’s sister is essentially “well she’s here too i guess.”)
douglas taught taylor enough about aerospace engineering & mathematics for them to understand the value of his lattice fin concept, and to generally have a better grasp of engineering concepts than your average (even very well-read) business major / financier. (remember how rebecca knew a robot’s “proprietary” power source was a combustion engine because her father was a mechanic? same deal here. see also: the “smash electronics apart to find the microchips inside and figure out who makes them” strategy; taylor comparing losing grigor’s money to building a turbo engine and having the nitrous tank blow up in their face.) this manifested in both directly teaching them in his lab and in playing games like the silverware-stacking game we see in 4x03, or like douglas throwing out math problems for taylor to solve on the spot, or the two of them solving math problems together.
douglas also imparted his taste in music (which does not include anything new / popular) to taylor, though their taste as an adult (or even as, like, a teenager) isn’t identical to his. this is how they discovered rush in the first place and why they have such strong opinions about The Best Rush Albums. (if douglas had such a ranking, it’d be closer to axe’s than to taylor’s.)
listening to rush helped make taylor a libertarian 😔 that’s just life when you’re a neil peart stan, which of course they are. they admire his lyrics + his drumming talent + his absolute poker face in performances.
douglas also taught taylor to play blackjack, which inspired them to go and learn poker on their own and start playing online. they tried to keep it a secret, but it's hard to be secretive about spending hours a day playing online poker on the family computer. (this is 2006 or so, after all.)
taylor figured out that they were Not A Girl (or at least had thoughts of “hm i don’t enjoy being addressed / perceived as A Girl”) fairly young but didn’t acquire a concrete vocabulary for / specific understanding of that for some time. (if douglas is calling they/them pronouns “that woke stuff” in 2019, he sure wasn’t saying anything clear or favorable about trans people in 2009 or 1999. ditto for online poker sites.)
douglas’s firing exacerbated every negative aspect of the mason family dynamic. he doubled down on pushing taylor toward his field, urging them to succeed where he’d failed, and warning them against letting anyone Steal Their Value. money got tighter, taylor’s parents argued more, and any activities taylor was in (like, say, swimming at the ymca) that required payment got cut; they may have figured out how to make money (illegally!) from online poker at this point. the combined stress of financial instability, being torn between pursuing their own ambitions and fulfilling douglas’s expectations for them, and increasing Gendered Expectations in general — plus the whole “playing online poker for hours a day” thing — probably put taylor in therapy within a few months, if they weren’t in therapy already. (how did their parents pay for it? i don’t know either.)
stealing this from that interview asia & brian & david did in 2017: if taylor had not already taught themself to think and speak directly & incisively and look people in the eye when they talk, et cetera, it started here, whether in therapy or on their own time.
taylor went to college in new york city. douglas did not want them to do this, for a number of reasons, and would have preferred they stick closer to home (and study something other than finance), but doing so would have made them miserable.
by the time they finished high school (circa 2012), taylor had properly heard of trans people and figured that they were somehow One Of Them, but not until college did they hear of people being nonbinary and go “ohhhh yeah that’s me.” (they’d also gotten a Short Haircut in high school, but didn’t go full buzzcut until college. unsurprisingly, they got some shit in high school for being Visibly gnc.)
for some period of time while figuring out their gender situation, taylor went by the name neil as a nod to neil peart. (it’s fun to imagine that they still have a faceless twitter / tumblr account where they go by neil. doubles as a way to prevent anyone connecting it to their real life.)
taylor came out to their family while in college. their mom and sister had fairly similar reactions of “well i don’t Get this exactly, but i love you and want to support you and i’m sure you know what you're talking about better than i do and you did clearly hate it every time i urged you to conform to Standards Of Womanhood so sure i can call you Them and my [child / sibling] :)” given some time to think about it. douglas… well. if he’s starting from a place of “i don’t get this,” he’ll end up at “so it must be wrong and stupid, because i’m always right,” especially if This = his favorite child being different in some significant way from who / what he thought they were. obviously he doesn’t react well or supportively, and the strain in his relationship with taylor tips over into full-blown estrangement. bad times for everyone.
if taylor’s bar fight happened when they were old enough to legally enter a bar, it happened after coming out to their family (also after the live poker fiasco), and before making plans for grad school / internships. most likely it was on a summer break they were spending back in their hometown. (another fun thought: taylor seeing the video of axe punching a guy, just weeks after they punched a guy, and going “well maybe i should work for him.”)
if douglas was at taylor’s sister’s wedding (and maybe he wasn’t!), it was awkward for everyone when he and taylor crossed paths again. barest of pleasantries, passive-aggressive comments, et cetera. naturally, it took a few more years — and douglas realizing that taylor, now being fairly wealthy and successful, could probably fund his dream project if they didn’t hate him — for him to decide to visit them.

Aight so It's... not news to literally anyone that I like Ink sans a lot as a concept, and his birthday is today, so I figured what better way to celebrate his birthday than to make a brand new AU (or at least post the info for it)! Or I guess three since I'm working on Swap and Fell variants for it as well.
One of my main questions about the Underground was "how do they handle seismic activity" which was how this AU started forming. It's probably not at all scientifically accurate in the least, but oh well. I call it Rifttale. Cause the earthquakes cause literal rifts in the mountain lmao. I'll put the rest under a read more since this'll get long.
The idea of Rifttale is that Mt Ebott is located on a fault line, and all the hollowing out the monsters had to do made the mountain extremely unstable, and that problem only increased the more the underground's population grew. It's pretty dangerous underground in Rifttale what with the constant threat of cave in due to poor structural integrity and the fact that they don't really have much to work with to make their homes and businesses quake resistant. A fair portion of houses get rubble rained down on them and something always needs fixing.
All four sections of the underground remain, but the layout and placement are different. (And probably larger scale) For example, Snowdin is located near the top of the mountain since snow from the peak falls in through the cracks left in the roof of the cavern, and Hotland is at the very bottom of the mountain, where lava has surged up from the seismic activity. Both Waterfall and New Home are around the mid section, but are separated by a thick wall of rubble that followed a quake that happened maybe days before Frisk fell.
Sans
The man of many jobs adds two more responsibilities to the list rather begrudgingly in this AU. As one of the only Monsters capable of gravity manipulation and teleportation in Snowdin, he and his brother are tasked with being emergency responders in case of an earthquake as well as assisting with any initial construction steps in order to make bridges across newly formed gaps. Sans often gets called to other regions for his services too, but he really doesn't appreciate it.
Frankly he's convinced the mountain's going to crush them before they get the final soul they need, which is part of why he agrees to keep Frisk safe so easily. He doubts anything will change about their predicament with or without them. A No-Mercy route in Rifttale would see him saying things like "Couldn't have waited for the mountain to get us?" Or "I think I would have preferred a cave-in."
Something Rift!Sans doesn't really tell people is that he's blind in his right eye. When he and Papyrus were little, he shielded Papyrus from falling rocks during a quake, and one of them got him good just above his right eye. Most of the injury healed but it left a nasty crack in his socket which prevented him from actually being able to see. He can light the socket, and does so strangers don't needlessly worry about him, but it can't light up all the way like his left does.
Papyrus
Ah yes the sunshine boy. Personality wise he's not that different in this AU. He still wants to be in the guard and he's still confident and friendly, but sometimes he gets a little subdued and worried about Sans since Rift!Sans is much more obvious about his emotional/mental struggles. Another notable part is that he's being kept out of the guard mostly because he's more useful in the emergency unit. He's strong and capable enough to be a guard, but he's too soft, so they gave him a job that was helpful while playing to his strengths.... though like a silly he doesn't see the admirers he has and still hopes to become a guardsman one day.
Frisk & Chara
These two are interesting in this AU. Chara was around 13-14 when they died and spent years underground with the Dreemurrs before their death. They have a strong distaste for their own kind for several reasons, among which being the way they were treated (that led them to run away in the first place) and the fact that they forced such nice creatures into what is essentially a death trap.
They're a bit of a gremlin, but they're certainly not all bad like they consider themself to be.
Frisk on the other hand is a quiet child of roughly nine years. Adventurous and curious, but also blind. They hadn't seen the hole when they were exploring and ended up falling down. They rely on Chara to lead them around the more treacherous parts of the underground since they can't see it. (Chara is able to touch Frisk and tends to tug them by the wrist when guiding them.) Chara starts off really unhappy about guiding them, and depending on the route will even refuse to do so, not that it matters in a No-Mercy route. That's because in the No-Mercy route the Player is more of an active component. Frisk physically can't fight back on their own, and Chara would never help them do so. Essentially the Player is just an entity used by us creators to manipulate Frisk into a No-Mercy route since it wouldn't happen otherwise.
Asriel & Flowey
Personality wise the two really aren't all that different. Asriel is the slightest bit more skittish thanks to his timid nature and the uncertainty that comes with the constant tremors, and Flowey is the slightest bit more bearable. He still doesn't have much in the way of emotions, but it's pretty obvious their situation is bleak without him making it worse (As such, while he has tried No-Mercy in the past, most of his runs were seeing what effects smaller changes had. The volatile environment made it interesting regardless).
Though he's notably far more annoyed about losing his save and reload powers in Rifttale because he'd been in the middle of trying something when Frisk fell.
On the more technical side, Flowey doesn't tend to get around much when there aren't bridges over the chasms. While he can cross them himself, its a pain if they're too awfully wide. This means that the severe quakes tended to impede him a lot.
Toriel & Asgore
As a result of the meddling Flowey was doing, Toriel reclaimed her place as Queen and has been talking things over with her husband about everything that happened. Stuck in the ruins she hadn't gotten the news that Asgore amended his statement later on to say that they would only take the souls of humans that fell if they were hostile or after they died of natural causes. None of the children who fell were killed by monsters. (Many died in partial cave-ins or from falling into lava or the like, though so a quick death from a monster likely would have been preferable.)
Toriel still thinks that going out and just collecting the remaining souls they need would be faster, but Asgore argued a few points on that such as doing so likely angering the humans and giving them a further negative bias as well as the fact that whoever went to get the souls may well die like their children did.
They're still working things out but it's better than how it was before.
Toriel still spends a lot of her time in the ruins, but now its more out of a sense of duty since most of the children fell into the ruins first. She actually guides Frisk up until they meet Sans where she passes escorting them to him since he is more capable of ensuring their safety, and she needs to hurry ahead to make preparations for their stay and inform Asgore.
Alphys
Predictably not much different personality wise. She's actually one of the safer monsters since she never leaves her lab and it's reinforced to withstand rockfalls to some degree, not to mention the basement level with the true lab in it (though its hot as heck down there cause of the magma nearby.) Her primary goal is more geared toward keeping the underground as stable as possible so that they can hopefully last until they get the last soul. That's not to say the amalgamates don't exist, they do, but she's at least been looking busy as sort of an excuse why she hasn't answered back any of the letters. No time for mail when she's trying to save people, after all.
Undyne
Captain of the Royal guard, still. The guard does still exist, it's just less numerous and has more focus on recruiting strong members. After all they exist in case a hostile human arrives instead. So naturally Undyne is even more of a badass than normal, and she's ready in the event of a No-Mercy run. Even in a pacifist playthrough she's a bit wary of Frisk, notably not wanting to leave Alphys alone with them in case they were hiding their true intentions. This means she's the one who ends up escorting the human through the first little bit of Hotland after Waterfall, whereupon Mettaton would take over.
Mettaton
Considering a Human-killing robot was no longer needed, he was created with maneuverability in mind. The idea was that he could help others when needed, much like the emergency rescue portion of the guard, but Mettaton much preferred to focus on his career of course. He’s part of the reason Sans keeps being called to help out in other regions which gets him a healthy amount of resentment from the older skeleton.
Gaster
No major story involvement, but he does have plot importance. Gaster was the Skelebro’s father, and while he made them artificially, he did care about them a lot. Not much about him still remains and very few remember any details about him since he was quite a reclusive skeleton. He was close friends with the Riverperson however, so that’s who ended up essentially raising the two skeletons after Gaster fell into the Core. They provided for them despite being gone a lot.
Misc. Details
Children that stayed for an extended period were often called the “New Hope” a term coined when Chara first became a part of the Dreemurr family
Not all children opted to stay with the royal family, hence their belongings being stored in different regions
There were hostile humans that fell as well, but most met their fate in the lava and their souls were burnt up before they could be retrieved.
Frisk had fairly negligent parents. They weren’t outright abusive, but they really didn’t pay much attention to them.
Portions of the Waterfall part of the Underground have large nets bridging the gaps to catch the garbage that falls down that way nothing gets wasted falling into the chasms.
The Delta Rune on Sans’s coat is a reflective sticker. They told him he needed to wear something reflective for visibility’s sake and because he wasn’t willing to mess up his jacket, nor go without it, he cheated the system.
Papyrus wears a battle body just like normal, but he hot-glued some of the reflective material from human clothing that ended up falling down onto it so that he could both look cool and follow rules
Despite being a very neat and cleanly skeleton, Papyrus often ends up dirty as a consequence of his job. Because of that he takes care to meticulously clean both himself and the house before they go to bed.

(patriotic music plays) In 1777, Lafayette was commissioned by General Washington to lead his troops in the American Revolution which led them to victory! This alliance between the French and Americans was what brought the holiday, The French-American Friendship Week🇫🇷🇺🇸. (record scratch) Okay, so it’s not a legit holiday cuz it was strictly made up for plot purposes on the show, but the events did happen as Americans and French are allies. History repeats itself so let’s see if our French heroes can ally with the American heroes in this very first Miraculous World trilogy of traveling:
Miraculous World
•New York – United HeroeZ-We start with a big damn intro that Thomas was probably inspired by other movie productions such as the “20th Century Fox” with its spotlights, “Universal” with its globe and even “Disney” with its Enchanted Castle. They even had an orchestra with the “Miraculous Ladybug” theme song playing (they went all out!). With the millions this show made it’s no surprise am I right or am I right!? Huh? Huh? Huh? HUH!? There’s a lot that went on in this special, and I know you’re all informed by it, even with the side stories, but I’m not gonna type all that went on and just put in the Pros and Cons so it can be faster. Let’s go:
Pros:
•The Space Powerups-Meet Cosmobug and Astrocat! Finally! We got to see their space forms and they looked pretty alright. Except they never really went to space and I would’ve preferred they did while battling some alien akuma, but it was still nice to see it. I liked Ladybugs space look best.
•The Native American Miracle Box-The final treat of the special and we see another miracle box and it’s guardian! Our first look is the Eagle miraculous which is a talon necklace that has an eagle like Kwami named Liiri who grants the user the power of liberation (which can be used for both good and evil). This was given to Sparrow who got promoted from sidekick to an independent hero! Congrats Sparrow! Fellow miraculers, I give you, Eagle! (trumpets sound). There was no eagle in the Native American zodiac, but I guess it’s part of the five pack and not the main duo like the Chinese Miracle box with its zodiac. There’s always the basic 12 zodiacs, the five elements and the two most important good/bad luck miraculouses. The guardian for the Native American miracle box was a chief like man who was stern, protective, and serious, but with a sense of understanding as he allowed Sparrow to keep their miraculous and start a new generation of supers with the rest thanks to Uncanny Valley.
•New York Heroes/Villains-Get this folks, Majestia, that superwoman Alya is a huge fan of, is real! Yeah! And Knightowl, Principal Damocles hero, is real too! Yeah! There’s barely any fiction in the Miraculous Universe and all we see, is real! These supers are amazing! There’s other heroes too, such as Snowflake, a snow elemental hero, Hurricane, a weather hero, Doorman, a portal traveler, Victory, a patriotic hero and Hot Dog Dan!? (record scratch). He’s uh, uhhhhhhh, a temporary power bestower through magic hot dogs?.............riiiiiiiiiight (clears throat). They’re enemies are a pirate themed technopath named Techno-Pirate (we already have Captain Hardrock for that, but I guess this is their American equivalent of it, so okay. (mutters under breath disappointedly) Wanted something more unique, but okay). Unlike the French heroes, the United Heroez don’t fall under the cliche of secret alter egos bulls*** and everyone in New York knows who they are (even the villain). I guess it’s cuz they’re mostly composed of courageous and righteous adults whereas Team Miraculous, are a bunch of insecure and awkward teenagers. Whomp! Whomp! Whomp! Not giving teens a bad name! The sidekicks of Majestia and Knightowl are Uncanny Valley, a robot girl, and Sparrow, a gadget wielding/combatant masked hooded youth, respectively. They’re the only ones who have to hide their identities (minus Knightowl for spoilers below) cuz they’re just children, but still badass cuz Aeon (aka Uncanny) figured out who Ladybug and Cat Noir were and reunited them to help save New York and Sparrow earned their wings to fly solo as a real hero.
Cons:
•Mr.Pigeon-(face palms) Hawk Moth, do you seriously want your wife back? Or are you just f**king stupid!? 51 TIMES!? (groans loudly and exasperated) You ARE mad and desperate! I understand it’s a kids show and some would find it funny that he keeps showing up, but older kids (and adults), would not! It’s no wonder we’ll be getting a new Hawk Moth in the future. One that actually creates formidable villains and not constantly recycles their old ones!
•Unnecessary Drama-So the plot said Marinette “convinces” Gabe (he had villainous intentions) to let Adrien go to New York, but Ladybug told Cat Noir to stay in Paris to watch out for any akumatizations while she’s “away”......well, we know that’s gonna be an issue, but there was no need. Adrien thought he had a plan to solve this by using his Akuma Alert app to check up on any danger in Paris and fly back quickly as Astrocat to signal Ladybug with this tiny black cat alarm she left him to come and help. Really? That’s the drama Hawkdaddy put in to spice up the special? Why couldn’t Ladybug just download the same app and use the Horse miraculous, which grants the power of teleportation, and fix the possible emergency herself!? If anything, she didn’t need to tell Cat to do jacks***! I understand the Akuma Alert back in “Riposte” cuz that happened during the show where the Parisians were getting accustomed to these attacks, but now, after what’s been a year already (in-universe), you’d think Marinette/Ladybug would be prepared to have that app like Adrien/Cat Noir, but no! She didn’t! Instead, we get this ridiculous, utterly ridiculous little black cat gadget that’s used for a dumb joke! Did Astruc not remember what he did on the show in the past seasons? Look back on your work, honey! IT’S CALLED RESEARCH! Ugh!
•New York stereotype-Like I mentioned up there with the United Heroez, Hot Dog Dan iiiiiiiiiiiiis not the most useful of supers cuz he sounds too stereotyped what with the setting being in New York where you can find a hot dog vendor (there’s even a hero named Captain Redlight who controls the traffic signal lights!) and he uses his powers for fun. That’s not all! Alya romanticized the theme of New York for Marinette and most of the time, we don’t picture that when we think of The Big Apple. When most Americans think of New York, they think crime, honking traffic jams, (911), big corporate businesses and the whole, “Hey! I’m walking here!”. Guess since this is a kids show, they didn’t wanna plant that idea in their young developing minds and just put in the “fun” aspects of New York! I get it. Don’t poison their heads.
That was our first Miraculous World special people. It was “interesting” and I’m sure you’ll agree with it too. I’m gonna elaborate more on the pros and cons of this and then mention the side stories in it. Now that we’ve seen the Native American miracle box, I think we’ll be seeing the American one next. Possibly in the Brazil special. Wonder how they’ll work with that since we have people and an object for our signs. Hmmmmm. I was real glad to see Sparrow cuz we all thought they’d be a scrapped character from the Quantic Universe, but no! They exist! (this was so much better then Felixs introduction). Mercury was even there too! Wow! We got to see the concept art come to life with members of the Quantic Kids! (wonder if Kid Mime might show up later?). Perhaps the whole United Heroez team is what inspires future Ladybug to create her own future Miraculous Justice League from “Timetagger”! What really surprised me was the LGBT Representation! The reveal that Knightowl was a woman along with Sparrow being a girl and that she (Knightowl) and Majestia are life partners with Aeon and Jess (Sparrow) being their children! For the longest time, we the fans thought Knightowl and Sparrow were male when in fact, they’re female! Nice twist there Astruc! The Knightowl and Sparrow are actually legacy heroes where the sidekick would take over for Knightowl and find a new Sparrow all with regardless of their race/gender/sexual orientation. I like that. What I didn’t like was the whole Mr.Pigeon running gag (it’s actually becoming a literal gag! >:P) there’s gonna be a moment where he’ll get called out on it, wait for that! However, it transitioned from overused creators favorite to super anarchy and nuclear war! What a dramatic climatic change! Like I mentioned, Ladybug didn’t really need to involve Cat in the whole emergency situation, but just to emphasize the trust issues between them and input drama into the special (ignoring the plot holes), Astruc gave us a near death scene with poor Uncanny Valley and thank God she was a robot or Cat would’ve gotten a can of whompa** from Majestia. Knightowl wanted to confiscate the dynamic duos miraculouses, but I don’t think they had any jurisdiction to do so. They’re an American super and they’re Parisian supers. However, since this does take place after Season 3, and Ladybug is now the guardian, it’s her choice whether they should or not and her idea was just for the two to run. This also brought the headscratcher of fans on how Ladybugs powers work? She said her “Miraculous Ladybug” power only works on a specific villain and not all villains (like the sentimonster that was shown during Techlonizers attack). Does her power not bring back the dead (that aren’t robots?), can it only fix a cataclysm power from Cat Noir? (shrugs). Unlike “Syren”, Cat quits for real this time! (for about 5mins) It hurt Marinette/Ladybug thinking she was all alone now. A Yang without her Yin. Not a good sign. What Marinette/Ladybug needs to understand is that Cat has a double life too, she shouldn’t assume it would be a breeze for him to watch Paris by himself and that he might have friends and family he can’t explain why he can’t do this and that and make up insane excuses like she does all the time. This wouldn’t be “Miraculous Ladybug” if we didn’t have shippers trying to make Adrienette happen, Alya tries to get Marinette to confess and Nino tries to get Adrien to open up. They get double ship help from Aeon and Jess, but even with the Americans allied with the French on this, Hawk Moth still co*kblocked it. Course with all the major plots involved, they added in several sub plots just to expand the special and fill the gaps such as Ms.Bustier revealed to be pregnant (who’s the daddy?), Ms.Mendeleiev trying to win over the class, Adriens Bodyguards fear of heights and Sabrinas love interest. The special foreshadowed that Marinette/Ladybugs conflict for Season 4 will be learning to move on (same w/ Adrien/Cat Noir) now that it’s strongly implied that Adrigami and Lukanette are canon. See ya all in 2021!

What do the JL think of Bette? Specifically Barry, Hal, Clark, Arthur, Ollie, and Diana
I very much love that you included two of my favourite characters here.
Barry:
Bette spent many of her formative years in Gotham, so you can bet your ass that this girl is ACAB
Now, I don’t know if you’ve been called a bastard by a thirteen-year-old in a red dress, but Barry Allen has
Life-altering experience
He spends an hour asking Bruce what he did wrong, why does Bat-Girl hate him? He hasn’t even spoken to her yet what could he have done
And Bruce just... the fun explanation that she hates all cops. Instantly. Oh you’re a CSI that must be fun, it doesn’t matter, it’s already on sight for you
Like, okay, in Gotham? Pretty much every cop is dirty. Gordon, Montoya & Bullock are the only ones that Bette knows aren’t & she still doesn’t really trust them
So she’s not gonna be particularly nice to Barry Allen & Bruce literally has to tell her to behave
(Kathy is very amused by it all)
There’s a moment where Barry thinks she just hates speedsters, but then she & Wally seem to be getting on great. Like, Kid Flash is awesome, cool fast guy. Flash is a cop & therefore she cannot trust him
Bat-Girl: I can respect you as a hero but I do not like you as a person
So, yeah, Barry’s, uh, iffy on her. He’s sure she’s a great hero & she seems nice to the others, but he’d really rather not work with her, even when she’s Flamebird/Hawkfire. Especially when she’s Flamebird/Hawkfire, then she’s got tasers & flamethrowers
Hal:
Very different from how she interacts with Barry
Mainly because she first meets Hal after Kathy’s died & she goes to Coast City as part of her whole ‘run away from her emotions’ thing
She’s always loved the beach & Coast is supposed to be so nice. Plus, they’ve got Green Lantern; they’re not gonna need her to suit up, are they?
And then there’s an incident with Manhunters & like, Hal’s got this handled, no doubt about it, but also, Bette is impulsive & has a massive hero complex & yes she does suit up & help out. She does it because it’s right, because she’s angry, just because
But Hal kinda freaks out? Because she’s a kid and yeah, that might fly in Gotham where Batman can keep an eye on her, but oh god, what if he was fighting Sinestro? That’s low key terrifying to him, he doesn’t wanna put a kid in danger
He’s still good with kids. Like, that’s canon, he’s just good with them. So he & Bette do get along & after he gets over the initial ‘please do not fight mass murdering robots you need adult supervision & idk if I qualify for that’, they do actually spend time together!
Mainly because Hal isn’t too comfortable letting a teenage vigilante who just experienced a massive lost be alone & honestly? He’s right. Like, Kathy has just died & Bette threw herself into an extremely dangerous fight... red flags all around, my dudes
So they do work together while she’s in Coast. She only stays a few weeks before she moves on, but she does kinda like Green Lantern?
And the feeling’s mutual. They don’t really keep in contact but Hal keeps an eye on the news to make sure she’s okay & not, uh, dead
They don’t actually meet face to face until a dumb Justice League party years later & then they discover that Bruce finds Hal annoying... he finds the concept of Bette & Hal even being acquaintances annoying... he’s given them the ultimate weapon. Bruce Wayne goes grey earlier and it’s because Hal & Bette spend an entire night pretending that they went on a massive space adventure, full of danger & peril, solely to drive up his blood pressure
Hal doesn’t look into her identity all that much, but thinks she’s fun. Anyone who annoys Bruce for fun is cool in his book
(And I know this is supposed to focus on his feelings about her but consider: Bette meets the Green Lantern of Coast City & he lets her stay in his shitty rundown apartment. Everything that can go wrong for him seems to, but he’s still there, making jokes and saving people and doing the right thing. His willpower keeps him going, even on the darkest of nights and maybe, just maybe, Bette’s stubbornness picked up a little bit of inspiration for somebody along the way)
(And maybe, maybe, she joins the fight against Parallax and realizes just how far her heroes can fall)
Clark:
Um, well, I absolutely headcanon that Clark gave Bette the name Flamebird. Like, told her the story, made a series of not-so-subtle mentions that she should take up the name...
So, yes, Clark knows Bette
She’s Bruce’s cousin, after all, and he’s his best friend. Of course, their paths would cross, especially with how often Clark seemed to work with Batman & Robin when they first started out
He’s worked with her a lot when she’s Bat-Girl & every single time, Bette is starstruck because oh my god, that’s Superman, she’s talking to Superman, she’s working with Superman
He tells her the legend of Nightwing & Flamebird when she’s a kid & she loves the concept of Flamebird. She’s only twelve at the time, but something about it clicks with her
And when she gives up on being Bat-Girl, but is still determined to be a hero, he suggests Flamebird
(Bette absolutely tears up at this)
They don’t really work together when she gets older, except on big, world ending disasters that require the entire Justice League’s attention, but he still sends her one of Ma Kent’s apple pies for the holidays
Clark’s just the cool uncle from when was younger
She stills freaks out a little every time he talks to her, though
She’s never gonna get over knowing Superman
Arthur:
It took me a while to think about this but, yes, Arthur likes Bette
Mainly because Bette is a friend of La’gaan’s. That’s pretty much how he knows her
He doesn’t even know she’s a part of the Batfamily for years, because she’s always seen with the Titans
So, like, he doesn’t really know her that much, but she’s a good friend to one of his sidekicks & La’gaan’s already made passing mentions to crashing at her & Gar’s place, so. Yeah. She got Aquaman’s seal of approval
Though Arthur is always gonna be entertained by how much teasing Flamebird is allowed to get away with. Most of the League may not be aware of her Special Cousin Privilages, he isn’t either, but it’s absolutely hilarious to see her tear into Batman at random
11/10, good friend to La’gaan, very entertaining. Would be better if she could keep a goldfish alive
Ollie:
Okay, so, Ollie is, like, shown to be nicer to the younger heroes, Kyle excluded because he’s dating his son, so she’s gonna be nice to her. Or, at least, Ollie nice. Hm.
He thinks she’s way too small when she first starts out because even when she’s eleven, Bette still looks like she’s nine, but she’s got two heroes looking out for her & with a kid sidekick of his own, he’s not in a place to judge
Aside from one poor team-up between Green Arrow & Speedy and Batwoman & Bat-Girl, where Ollie & Kathy absolutely butted heads, oh my god, they’d hate each other, he didn’t see much of her. He works in Star, she works in Gotham, when are their paths gonna cross
While she works less with most Leaguers the older she gets, she actually ends up working more with Ollie when she’s older
Mainly ‘cause she’s friends with Roy & Cass may be friends with Connor, but that doesn’t mean she can drive so sometimes she’ll get Bette to bring her to Star
Which is honestly what Ollie knows her most as: Batgirl’s older sister who’ll lend a hand whenever she’s in Star
She’s good with kids, efficient & a little showy, but he really can’t judge that last part. Got Roy & Dinah’s stamp of approval, though, & that goes a long way with him
They never, like, exclusively work together, but she’s good to call on in an emergency
He did do a double take when she called Deathstroke ‘uncle’ though because... well, look, at Flamebird. Now look at Deathstroke. Do you see his confusion? It only grows when Slade lets out the most exasperated sigh, mutters something about how he wishes he could kill her without Addie getting mad, and then Bette sticks her tongue out to him & makes some joke about the shitshow he married into
Well. At least his family will never involve Deathstroke
Diana:
Diana gave Bette the shovel talk
This is when DonnaBette is happening & close to figuring out each other’s identities & probably the biggest hint for Bette is Wonder Woman flying down to tell her that if she breaks Wonder Girl’s heart, she’ll have her to answer to
So. Diana’s first impression of Bette is Flamebird having an anerysm on a rooftop in Gotham because she just realized she’s dating Wonder Girl
The absolute dumbassary of DonnaBette, unparalled
Diana likes Bette, thinks she’s probably a great person, but it is her legal job as Donna’s big sister to make it clear that if anything happens to her baby sister, it means war
They end up meeting later, after Donna & Bette have had their mutual break-up, when Diana is working with Kate & Bette is still unable to form a full sentence. Wonder Woman oh my god, oh my god, her brain doesn’t work that’s actual literal Wonder Woman oh my go-
Bruce did later let it slip that after the Maxwell Lord incident, Bette was 100% on Wonder Woman’s side, which she honestly didn’t expect, but eh. Bette’s not as big on the whole no killing as her cousin
Diana mainly knows Bette in the capacity of her being Donna’s girlfriend
Definitely prefers her to some of Donna’s other partners ie Terry because I don’t csre what anyone says, that relationship was trash & I will not pretend that miss Diana Prince was okay with her nineteen-year-old sister dating a divorcee in his thirties that was also her professor

Ok since @halenhusky309 and I were talking about it, my pros and cons of TFONE.
Pros:
As I’ve said before, this is the ONLY time so far that a story finally made the Aligned backstory of Optimus and Megatron being former friends work. Their friendship is believable you can tell they care for each other, but they also needle each other as some do. Compare that to stuff like Prime and Cyberverse, where it’s very unbelievable these two used to get along. If anything Optimus feels more concerned about it in Prime than Megatron does, and the only time Megatron does show some concern it’s only so he can benefit from it.
The system on Cybertron being whittled down to an easy to understand Cogs vs Cogless system. Older stuff like IDW over complicated the caste system with stuff like Functionism and Empurata, making it hard to understand and it becomes too meta. So simplifying it to robots who can and can’t Transform makes it much easier to follow, and makes more sense for a society of shape changing robots.
The Autobots and Decepticons having a better origin story. The Aligned stuff that IDW, WFC and Cyberverse copied all made the claim the Decepticons arose from an oppressed lower caste, and imply the Autobots rose from those benefiting the system, and as such the concept of Heroic Autobots vs Evil Decepticons doesn’t make sense anymore if the roles are reversed. TFONE instead casts the miners as future Autobots, while the corrupt High Guard and entitled punks benefiting from the system like Darkwing and Airachnid become Decepticons. In particular, the High Guard being made up of typical Decepticons and led by Starscream helps with this, and despite having served the Primes, Starscream isn’t much better than Sentinel, craving power, not taking crap from anyone, and scoffing at the idea of truly united Cybertron. This is the Starscream we needed like Skybound, not the domestic abuse Starscream of EarthSpark or the clumsily repenting IDW Starscream.
The artwork is gorgeous, and the animation is really well done.
Orion Pax and D-16’s personalities. As much as some people don’t like the absence of the gladiatorial stuff, I kinda prefer it not being here. I like the idea that originally Megatron preferred being a cog in the machine that benefitted Cybertron and its people. He took great pride in his work, and idolized the Primes, Megatronus and Sentinel in particular. His downfall and distrust of authority outside his own makes more sense here, the sense of betrayal is believable as he genuinely believed in the system with his self loathing for believing in it and his frustrations at the truth fueling his downfall. Orion meanwhile is a bit more rebellious, eager to bend the rules and find ways to prove to other Transformers that he and the miners are more than just Energon diggers. There is a mild bit of selfishness here, but Orion is still looking at the interests of his fellow miners and all Transformers as he wants to find the Matrix to benefit everyone, and he rescues Jazz when Elita was content to abandon him to his fate for protocol’s sake. Older material tended to have this in reverse, with Optimus as the reserved bookish one, while Megatron was the impulsive, break the rules one. TFONE’s reversal actually makes this concept work so much better, and better complements Optimus and Megatron’s more traditional roles.
A lot of the older Prime drama is absolved, instead putting Sentinel as the sole reason the Primes fell.
Cons. -cracks neck-
A lot of this is more nitpicky but it still sticks out.
The world building doesn’t make sense.
Why did the Quintessons attack Cybertron originally? Their motives vary in past series but G1 specifically sees them want to reclaim Cybertron from their rebellious creations. It seems they specifically want Energon here, but it’s never explained why. Do they have their own problems on Quintessa or is Cybertron just simply one of the planets they have claim on in their own empire. Did Quintus Prime create them here too? They seem to have no interest in him or the others beyond Energon.
Why are the Transformers living underground in the first place? The film never gives us a reason, and while it’s implied the Quintessons are the reason, it’s not really a good explanation. It’s not clear if they regularly prowl Cybertron’s surface; it feels like that’s the intent, but it also seems like the Quints just periodically appear and give Sentinel a reminder they’re coming. Did Sentinel convince the others the Quintessons made the surface uninhabitable? It feels like a huge leap in logic to move the entire populace underground just to mine Energon deposits only.
We see the High Guard living on the surface, so do other Transformers take their chances up there too? Is everyone else on Cybertron underground? Sentinel typically just addresses Iacon specifically, but do other cities exist? Tarn, Darkmount, Kaon, Vos, Simfur, Cybertropolis, Tyger Pax and other places are never mentioned, but if they exist, do they have Cogless Miners too? Do other sub leaders exist in these other cities that Sentinel works with?
Where do Beast Mode Transformers fit into this? We see the deerbots on the surface, but it’s not clear if they can Transform or are considered sentient. Early concepts show RiD15 Aerobolt and a dinosaur-dragon Transformer assisting Orion and friends, but it’s not super clear if they were sentient either or had humanoid Robot Modes or their own Vehicle Modes like RiD15. Alpha Trion is the only one to Transform into a Beast on screen, though Airachnid was intended to originally have a spider mode, which explains her toy. Alpha Trion becoming an Aslan like space lion fits his role in the story but it does ask the question if other Primes, besides Onyx, had Beast Modes too. Was Solus a space ankylosaur? IDW went hard in the idea Beast Types are the lowest of the low on Cybertron, but media outside of that dances around it. It might help if we saw guys like Nightstrike, Swoop, Divebomb, and Cheetor in the Iacon race or see guys like Grimlock and Headstrong as beasts of burden. It’s what makes Soundwave unusual here as he curiously lacks Ravage and Laserbeak, especially Laserbeak since he’s a flyer like the rest of the High Guard. Was this before he got his animal buddies, or did he not think to use them?
Elita and Bumblebee are the worst things about the film. While Elita living up to her name makes sense, she’s too much of an entitled modern girl boss to be fully likable. Her telling Orion she’s better than him in everything when he’s at his lowest is the worst thing she’s done. In fairness, she does lighten up and seems to genuinely become friends with Orion and Bee, it didn’t feel earned or organic, and nor do I see these two becoming believably romantically inclined. Bee being partly insane from isolation and the reoccurring Badassatron gag feels more like an insult to the character. It’s like they combined TFA Bee and Cyberverse Bee’s worst character traits and cranked them up. I’m more surprised Shockwave didn’t just shoot him, since Starscream wanted to kill Bee, Orion, Elita and D-16 anyway. They forced Bee to be the comic relief way too hard that it makes him repulsive, and his hyperactive behavior here coupled with his 40 something voice don’t fit, he really needed to be voiced by a younger actor like Tom Holland or Finn Wolfhard to make sense of it.
Going back to Soundwave, as much as I do enjoy Airachnid as Sentinel’s intelligence and surveillance assistant, shouldn’t Soundwave have been in that role? IDW initially showed Soundwave as RatBat’s assistant on prewar Cybertron when the bat bot was a senator, so would’ve assumed they would’ve gone for a similar role here too. It’s not a deal breaker, I’m just surprised they didn’t do that.
The Matrix of Leadership is tied to the flow of Energon on Cybertron in this universe. Past media typically tied this to the Allspark, with its launch dooming the planet to bring energy starved. In this version of events, the Matrix instead just evaporates in front of those it/Primus deems unworthy. So… what happens to Cybertron when the Transformers inevitably go to Earth? Does the Matrix make exceptions if Zeta Prime had to leave Cybertron for a political matter? Will the Matrix just vanish again if Megatron or Starscream attempt to take it from Optimus? Megatron knows that will happen, so would he even bother trying to steal the Matrix? Are there other means to control Energon on Cybertron that were not privy to yet, let alone that Sentinel wasn’t privy to? I feel like the Matrix being connected this directly to Cybertron causes an unintentional problem once the characters have to go to Earth. Like they have to come up with a new idea that forces them off Cybertron if we’re not doing the Allspark anymore, and the Matrix here clearly doesn’t operate on the same logic.
Why does organic life appear to exist on Cybertron? Is it partly techno-organic from the start or is this some form of terraforming by the Quintessons. Cyberverse and IDW have depicted Cybertron as having forests and wildlife, making Cybertron feel more like a robot Earth which is annoying. It kinda made more sense in Beast Machines and Galaxy Force where incorporating organics was part of Cybertron’s evolution.
Does Unicron exist here? The cave where the Primes’ corpses lie is dubbed the Mouth of Unicron in ancillary media. This is a reference to the Primes’ original role to fight Unicron, but TFONE seems to simplify this into them fighting the Quintessons. Given Hasbro and Paramount’s interest in Unicron overriding common sense, if a sequel DOES get made, I fear they might try to shoe horn in the Monster Planet, derailing once more a good opportunity they have to follow up on the Quints and Megatron.
The heavy reuse of Miner models makes it a bit confusing on which characters are where. Like I think Arcee was both in the audience big the Iacon Race, but also still in the Miners’ bunker… with others that made up the stadium crowd. The confusion of the robot racer that’s clearly Mirage but is considered Chromia doesn’t help, considering a Miner more closely resembles the G1 Chromia…. But we ALSO have a Miner that is very clearly G1 Mirage. Like I do understand asset recycling but this is not a particularly good look either. Also a Dr. Ratchet is referenced, but one of the Miners is clearly meant to BE Ratchet. Frankly this could’ve been easily fixed if the pager asked for First Aid or Fixit instead. Red Alert would make sense too, but one of the Miners is clearly G1 Red Alert, so more confusion. Ugh. -rubs temples-
Part of me thinks the Quintessons should’ve been the villains here with the Decepticons forming in a sequel. Streamlining it to have Sentinel Prime being a selfish little greed bag is more fitting, but I’m left feeling confused about the Quintessons, and why they’re here. It feels like we should’ve had something where they’re more obviously in power, and Megatron gets to shoot one in the face.

1, 8, 12 and 52 for the writing thingy!!!
Look at me finally answering these after like a whole month lol
Thanks for the ask!
1. Tell us about your WIP!
Which one lol, I’ve got many of them. Too many. Really. That, coupled with the fact that I am a slow writer because I keep getting distracted and procrastinating (like with answering these asks,,,,) means that pretty much everyone on this site will die of old age before I finish like any of them :’D
Anyway, I guess I’ll give brief summaries of all of the… main ones. This is gonna be a long one, fellas! I guess in the order I came up with them? Or the order I’m pretty sure I came up with them in.
TT: My original story I’ve been low-key working on and reworking since… 2012…? It’s a fantasy story, and it is… way too long probably. Also needs a lot of work. Worldbuilding and character building and plot building… At the moment, I guess I could summarise it as, our world gets wrecked for some reason, and the main characters, these two girls, who got saved into another, fantasy world with like… a bunch of other survivors, leave the Earth-refugee camp and get tangled with like, politics? Of that world? Well, politics and then eventually like, a war type thing… I didn’t say it was good, and I did also say it needs a whole lotta work. I’m pretty happy with some names younger me came up with though! Also it has dragons, so. Yup.
Fantasy fanfic: I am very good with names, as you’ll come to notice. Anyway this is a.. Hetalia fantasy fic..? I came up with in, like, 2014. I’m not actively working on this one at the moment, but I would like to maybe write it one day, and my most beloved OC originated in this story, you may have seen me mention her in my tags? I haven’t managed to come up with a name for her, but I call her the Asshole Goddess, because she’s a goddess, and also an ass. So.
Anyway this one’s pretty cliche, and it’s like, an absurdly large cast of Hetalia characters ending up in a fantasy world, where a bunch of other characters, who’d gone missing earlier, have apparently been taken to? Then it’s a journey to find and get them back, friendships are formed and magical things are encountered, but uh oh! They’re mortal here and can die! And many do. You may note I was 14 when I came up with it, so. Well. It is quite edgy. Had some good concepts though!
Kingdom AU: Great with names, as I said. This one is also a Hetalia fic, because that is the fandom I’ve been stuck in forever, though mostly just because I’ve so many fics for it. This is the odd one out in my fics though! This is like, a royalty AU of an rp AU me and my friend made by accident one time? The RP, not this AU, this is all my invention. It’s really just for me and my friend, since it’s based on that strange RP and the main thing in it is like and OC x canon character ship? That’s also why it’s the weird one, I don’t usually have much romance in my fics because I’m not big on ships and just prefer gen stuff, but this one is like primarily romance? Lots of pining. And it’s very soft. And I love this AU with all my heart. It’s also got a whole lotta angst!
Basic plot is the more or less classic, kinda cliche, peasant girl goes to get a job in the royal palace to help her poor family and meets the crown prince, and they become friends, and slowly fall in love.. Except, well, this is weird also in that the end point isn’t them getting married or confessing their love or anything, that’s like...Maybe the midpoint? There’s also politics, kinda worldbuilding? It’s set in like a 1700s type setting, I think, And while it’s not really a fantasy world since no magic, it’s not like, a real world setting. Anyway, yeah, this is near and dear to my heart.
The Home Front Fic: This! This is the one I’ve been trying to work on lately! It’s about life on the Finnish home front during WWII, and yes this is uh, also a Hetalia fic. Sorry. Though to be fair with this one and the previous one everyone’s probably gonna be so OOC and the setting is so different they might as well just be original works lol. Anyway, it’s a human AU, and also had a lot of OCs for that reason because it’d be tough to make a story of this scope with like. Three characters.
Basically! Tino is a 8, soon to be 9-year-old boy living in the Finnish countryside in 1942. His dad’s gone off to war, as well as the farmhand they had at the farm, and his mom and grandma can’t take care of the whole farm by themselves. So when they hear a nearby factory and some other farms in the area are getting extra work force in the form of Soviet prisoners of war, they decide to ask for one, too. They get a worker, his name’s Ivan. It takes some time, since they’re technically enemies, right, but eventually Tino befriends him and slowly he kind of becomes a part of the family… But you know what happened when the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviet Union ended in September 1944? :) Well, I’ll just say that Stalin did say “There are no Soviet prisoners of war, only traitors.”
This one also has angst. But it also has found family! I like it a whole lot, I wish I’d written it already, but I have been having such a hard time starting it. :(
That BNHA Fic: I can call it that because I’ve only got one so far! So this is a My Hero Academia fic, and hmm. I haven’t talked about it too much, but I do like it, even though my focus has been pulled back to the Home Front Fic again. I do wanna write this one!
So this is like a future fic? It’s canon divergent because some stuff happening in the manga rn is not gonna work with the plot, I guess it’ll diverge at least from like… all the New Year’s chapters? I don’t remember what the number is.
Anyway, the main character is Eri, who’s been going to like this boarding school meant for kids with volatile quirks. She wanted to go there herself when some years ago her quirk had gone bonkers, she thinks? Something like that, she doesn’t remember that well anymore, but anyway, she’s going to apply to UA! Just the Gen-Ed, her quirk isn’t any good against robots. She’d love to be a hero, though, she knows so many heroes and she just wants to help people, but her quirk is no good. :( Anyway she’s back in Musutafu for the summer break in her last year of middle school, and she meets Mirio and Aizawa at the train station, and they go around the town meeting everyone! In the entrance exams she meets Kouta, who for some reason doesn’t want to be a hero though he’s got a really good quirk for it, and he’s proud of his parents who were famous heroes! They both get into UA, and she manages to convince him to try to get into the hero course through the Sports Festival, and he does! She doesn’t get that far in the festival though, because even though she’s practiced using her quirk, she’s scared to use it on people when in battle and stuff. Anyway, she’s very upset about it, and when she tells Mirio about how she wants to help people, but can’t, because her quirk sucks, he gets this look on his face and later tells her that he knows someone who could help. They go to meet this scarecrow lookin’ dude, and oh wait, is that All Might?? Why’s he refusing to help her out from Mirio’s request?? And later, what’s this One For All Mirio’s talking about?? And whose kind arms does she keep dreaming of in her sleep???
So yeah. That’s the BNHA fic. One more WIP to go!
Space Fic: Back to Hetalia, and this is technically an older fic but I decided to someday actually write it just recently. So it’s my Historical Human AU No. 3. It’s based on a space facts video fact, where it said that in 1963 Kennedy had proposed the USSR and US go to the Moon together, and Khrushchev had been meaning to agree, but then Kennedy died and the plan was abandoned. This story idea was like, but what if they’d gone through with it? And then, because why not, what if they’d included other countries as well? And this WIP was born. It’d be like, the main characters would be representatives of their home countries, sent to take part in the program and they’d all be candidates for going to the Moon, but there’d be only 3 spots on the rocket so like, they’d kind of have to compete for the spots? And the ones that wouldn’t pass would take part in the mission on Earth. So then there'd compete, there’d be personal drama, their personal relationships would be affected by the relationships between their home countries, but overtime friendships would be forged, and they’d all just become… one big ole found family. A space family. A big ole found space family. And the Overview Effect would also play a part. This is kind of on the back burner, this’ll need lots of research and the Home front fic also needs a lot of it, so I’ll try to.. write that first, I guess? We’ll see.
So that’s all my WIPs. There are other fic ideas that I haven’t put much thought into yet so they’re not on the list, but yeah!
8. Do you have any writing buddies or critique partners?
I don’t have any one person who I’ve talked to about all of my stories, but I have discussed my stories with a few people! Both online and irl. I’m also on a couple discord servers that are for writing or where people talk about writing, even though for the most part I’m too shy to talk much on any of them ;u; But the people who’ve been awesome enough to listen to me ramble about my stories have helped me a lot!
12. Which story of yours do you like best? Why?
Aaaa, don’t make me choose between my children! ;__; I love them all,,,
Well, I am very fond of TT, since it’s my own original story and I’ve worked on it the longest… Then again, the Kingdom AU has a lovely aesthetic and those two pining idiots in it… But also, that BNHA fic has some really nice plot and character moments? But also I’ve spent so long researching for the Home front fic and it’s got my boys in it! And the atmosphere in it is so nice, and it has found family,,, But then also… Space??? And even the fantasy fanfic has the Asshole Goddess in it?? And a nice storyline with Liech?? See I can’t choose ;_;
To be fair, the story my dumb brain takes interest in changes every now and then, for example lately I’ve been mostly thinking about TT, the Kingdom AU and the Home front fic, so I guess those would be my favorites at the moment? But a couple weeks ago I was really into the Space Fic, and at the start of the year it was the BNHA fic. So it depends! But I do love them all.
52. Who do you write for?
Well, primarily probably for myself. I do often find myself in a situation where I’m looking for fics or books to read but none of them really click, and then I realize I’m looking for my own story. Which I haven’t written. So that’s definitely a big one! Then, to some extent, I also write for the people I’ve rambled about my fics to, so they might maybe someday get to experience the whole thing through something other than just my ramblings :’D But mostly for myself, I think.
Thanks for the ask again and sorry for taking so long!

Shows
3Below: Tales of Arcadia. Steve Palchuck is the single most developed character in the show hands down OKAY WITH THAT OUT OF MY SYSTEM. This is a great next arc from Trollhunters with some awesome callbacks. I feel like both Trollhunters and 3Below start off with extra cheese and camp, and it’s hard to connect to some of the characters at first. However, the longer you sit it out, the more invested you get, the higher the stakes rise, and the more adorable the cheese gets. This was a great watch, and I can’t wait for the third and final arc. Also, ya put a horror film maker in charge of a kids show, ya gonna get some horror tropes. Mostly centered on the robots. I’m also most of the way convinced that Del Toro watched Invader Zim at some point. Them house robots, I tell ya… they act awfully familiar…
VeggieTales: The Best Christmas Gift. Okay guys, full disclosure, I grew up a VeggieTales kid. I can do the Bellybutton Rap in my sleep, and if you drop the right word (hairbrush, cheeseburger, gated community) I’ll have specific songs stuck in my head for days. I stopped watching the show at a certain point around my late teens, not because I’d outgrown them, but because it felt like they were pushing shows out as fast as possible, and the quality of everything from writing to animation was careening downhill. I skipped over their whole “Veggie Tales in the House” phase, warned off by one of my sister’s that it was a cringe fest. However, they seem to have creative control back, and I was told to give this one a try. Call me McFly, because I travelled back in time. Some things have changed, but not as much as you’d think. They definitely take more after the muppets, now, having upgraded from the kitchen counter to a full on theater. When they did a broadway-style presentation of the theme song, I choked up on my nostalgia. The episode was loads of fun if viewed with a healthy dose of humor as intended, and was capped off by clips from some of the older shows and two fanmade remixes of classic silly songs. Acted out live. It was fan-tastic. Veggie Tales is back in the house, for the better. Long live the nostalgia of this very, very silly concept.
Movies
Sonic. So, I have no background in Sonic. I came mostly because of the design uproar-turned-applause and Jim Carrey. And I was not disappointed. In fact, I was surprised how much heart the movie showed. It wasn’t the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen, but it was very enjoyable. And Jim Carrey chewed up every scene, which itself was a whole other world of enjoyable for me. Good to see him in front of the camera again.
Books
Psychopath Free by Jackson MacKenzie. I really appreciated the style this book was written in, especially when listening to the audio. It’s written like someone (with a very calm, soothing voice) is talking to you out from the pages, a one-sided conversation acknowledging that you are there. A letter. I disagree with a few of his ideas, but he has thought about this a lot and has good things to say. However, one of my favorite parts was from a segment where he asks whether it matters whether the person who was in your life was a psychopath, sociopath, narcissist, or garden-variety jerk. If the wake they left in your life was destructive, what does the label matter? Which… helps me let go, a little. I took some of his more black-and-white statements with a grain of salt when they didn’t match up completely with my experiences, especially as this book seems more geared toward people in romantic relationship, but I could still draw many useful nuggets from it. It was not a complete match, but it shores up my understanding of things better, and I may delve into further books about what he calls “cluster B personality disorders.” He repeats himself a lot in the book, but overall it was a good and useful read.
The Reason for God by Timothy Keller. Man it would be nice if my retention skills were worth anything. I appreciate his reasonableness (no pun intended) and his admonition not to talk down to people who believe other things, but treat them with respect and consideration. He lays out responses to several of the major objections to Christianity, most of which are well thought out (though I prefer CS Lewis’ book-length response to the topic of God and suffering). I especially appreciated Keller’s take on the sins of the church and objections about a God of judgment–neither were what I expected for sure. Though he does address some of the conflict around science vs. religion, this is not a book to pick up if you’re looking for scientific info specifically (there are other books that revolve around that topic, this is more of an overview). He points out flaws in argumentation and assumptions, directs your attention to some solid names, and tries to broaden everyone’s understanding of the situation as a whole. I could go on about the various topics he covers, but I’ll try to wrap up. In the end, I deeply appreciate his non-condescending tone (guy seems to actually respect people who don’t share his view, who’d’a’thunk I’m not salty about Paul Copan) and his well reasoned thoughts. He was able to explain to me doctrines that I was familiar with all my life, but never really understood until now. I hesitate to put it on level with Mere Christianity, but it certainly belongs on the same shelf.

Fantastic 4 2099 #1 Thoughts
Tumblr media
Again, I ask, who is this for???????????????????
Let’s put aside for a moment how the cover poorly reflects upon the story, both in terms of what the story will be about and even how most of the characters in question look.
The premise of this book is that HERBIE on the orders of his mother is seeking out his ‘family’, which we’re supposed to interpret as meaning the F4 obviously. But the actual protagonist of this title is in fact a new version o Venture.
Venture was arguably the very first super villain of the 2099 line. A cyborg cowboy bounty hunter sent by Alchemax to track down Miguel O’Hara not long after he first got his powers.
The new rebooted Venture is a decidedly nicer cyborg cowgirl (cowwoman? Cowwoman?) bounty hunter who is helping HERBIE find his ‘family’ after HERBIE promised her something ‘better than money’ back in 2099 Alpha.
What that was we don’t know, if it was anything at all. It seems like Venture sort of took this weird outdated little robot on faith when it said it had something better than money. Which at best leans against the impression she’s clearly intended to give off in this issue and 2099 Alpha, and at worst makes her look like an idiot.
I will talk briefly regarding the mere fact Venture got a reboot like this.
It’s a double edged sword.
On the one hand nostalgic fans like me are unlikely to take to this character because we prefer and are more invested in the original Venture, who is also one of the more stand out 2099 villains in general. On the other hand if you HAVE to reboot this line then at least it is something decidedly different. Venture has a different personality, a different gender even a different (albeit more stereotypical) speech pattern.
The wider problem isn’t so much with Venture as a character (though a bounty hunter out of a futuristic Western in a Disney product shortly after the Mandalorian TV show debuts, what a coincidence) but rather her placement in the story.
Why on Earth would you launch a comic book about a futuristic version of the Fantastic 4 and make the main character anyone who isn’t the F4!
It’s like if the original F4 were introduced through following our protagonist Willie Lumpkin!
The personalities of the F4 themselves are fairly bland though I will say this.
Karla Pacheco does a great job applying the ‘methodology’ behind the 2099 reimaginings of the other Marvel characters to the F4.
This is in fact (to my knowledge) the very first time there has ever been a true blue (no pun intended) 2099 spin on Marvel’s first family. Though there was a Fantastic 4 2099 back in the 1990s it merely starred that universe’s versions of the original team.
Whilst I do believe Peter David could’ve come up with something better, Pacheco here essentially swaps and remixes traits from the original F4 in a way which on paper could’ve made for a compelling team.
Instead of 3 men and an Invisible Girl, we’ve got 3 women and an Invisible Boy, who’s abilities are mostly used for thievery and smaller scale stuff like that. It fits well in the barbaric environment of the Thorites encampment.
Instead of a hotheaded youth as the Human Torch, we have an adult woman...now let’s get a little controversial. If I’m not mistaken the woman in question was Hispanic/Latin American (I don’t know the difference sorry, not American) so that probably does play into a negative stereotype. But she’s also a mechanic (like Johnny used to be), and also kind of the rouch street level brawler type (like Ben tends to be) and also the person in a romantic relationship (like Reed/Sue). What spices this up too is that she’s not in a relationship with anyone actually on the team. I guess that makes her a little like Ben, with her wife the equivalent of Alicia Masters. But I still think it’s more of a remix of Reed and Sue because no one else on the team is romantically involved with anyone else.
Instead of an inventor who happens to also be able to stretch, we’ve got an inventor who uses her inventions to mimic stretchy powers among other things. It’s essentially taking Reed’s real strength as a character, his brain, and making it directly the result of his super powers themselves. A consolidation if you will.
Finally instead of a monsters looking craggy rock creature who’s feared by some people and regards themselves as ugly, we have a beautiful diamond creature who’s regarded as a freak due to her parentage, not what she looks like exactly. She’s even referred to as a golem, which is clearly the inspiration for the Thing too. She’s also the youngster (which makes her like Johnny but I’d also argue like Franklin or Valeria too) and she has a direct blood relationship with one of the four (like Sue and Johnny) but a parent/child relationship not a older sibling/younger sibling dynamic.
Also most of the characters are poc and/or queer and/or children of same sex relationships, or at least relationships different to a cis man and a cis woman hooking up.
Neither I, nor do I think the author, are trying to float some kind of weird ass message about heterosexual relationships or white people becoming a thing of the past (though there are weirdos who do claim such things). But if stats are to be believed such people and such relationships are undeniably going to become more common in the future. Thus the traditional nuclear family, whilst unlikely to ever truly disappear, is nevertheless not going to become the default state of family units.
But the concept was let down by the execution.
First of all we see the F4 briefly in action (with Venture, again our protagonist) nowhere in sight) at the very start of the comic. Then we begin the laborious task of going to each member to establish them as people and finally get right back to the action scene at the start of the story.
Sometimes this structure works, but not when we’re literally following a whole other character, and not when we’re gradually unveiling each character’s abilities and looks, it just turns the comic into a chore.
It is particularly a chore considering that Pacheco seemed to overuse characters saying ‘Ha’.
But possibly the absolute worst thing about this story was the ending.
So as it turns out HERBIE has a few screws loose and this whole time he hasn’t actually been searching for his family, but rather trying to recreate it by recreating the F4.
He’s been exposing random people to cosmic rays of his own design and whenever it invariably doesn’t work, changing the rays and trying again. Sometimes the rays just murder and mutate his targets, sometimes they do manage to get together but then something goes wrong and they die.
This is what happened to 3/4 of our new F4 2099, when they get close enough they contort and die in horrible ways.
HERBIE is then so angry about failing once again he unleashes his weapons on Venture and Invisible Boy.
Basically HERBIE is a FUCKING  PSYCHOPATH!
Which isn’t an unamusing premise, nor even an unamusing twist in concept.
But again in execution (no pun intended) it’s awful because not only did we soldier our way through this chore of a comic book that wasn’t even following the F4 themselves, but when we FINALLY unite the team and FINALLY deliver an F4 for the 2099 universe...we immediately kill them...and even the character we were following just in case you might’ve liked her even a little.
So the whole comic is fucking pointless.
Exempting Conan 2099, this was the ONE title that might’ve really appealed to older 2099 fans as there was an untapped niche in the pre-existing iterations of the 2099 universe for the F4 to fill. It was one of the few instances in which this event wouldn’t have to compete too much (if at all) with the older iteration of the 2099 universe and where something new and different didn’t have to come at the expense of something old and beloved.
But instead we got $5 worth of our time wasted.
And that applies to hypothetical NEW fans too. This is an issue #1 so if anyone had been inclined to check out this title or if this was introducing them to the 2099 line as a whole they got royally screwed because there is literally no story left to go after this.
So I ask again of this whole event.
Who.
Is.
This.
For?
Don’t read this trash.

Desperately racing against time in unknown parts of the Allspark Studio is Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime!  Will he serve as a role model for his fellow Autobots on your shelves, or will he spend his days looking for that Cyber key you lost back in 2005?  Tune in after the break to find out!
I did not know how much I would come to love the Armada/Energon/Cybetron trilogy figures until well long after the series was done.  During the time those figures were on shelves we got a mix of a little of everything.  AEC gave us Micromaster/Targetmaster styled Mini-Cons, G1 inspired/re-envisioned legacy characters, Beasts, and brand-new characters, some of whom would become legacy characters in their own right.  I really did not appreciate all that we were given during that period, and it was in that trilogy that we first received Cybertron Optimus Prime/Galaxy Convoy.  That mold was an amalgamation of Transformers concepts, taking Prime back to a fire truck alt. mode, adding in a “trailer” pieces that could detach from the main vehicle, and also included the AEC gimmick of the Cyber Key.  It was big, versatile, poseable, and impressive, and not a figure I would have pegged for a remake.  Then came WFC Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime.
  Vehicle Mode
Just like the vehicle mode for Ultra Magnus, Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime’s vehicle mode is a composition of puzzle parts made from his robot mode armor.  While both armor/trailer sets share a few parts, they come together in different ways, and the parts are not compatible with each other.   Though you can take the complete armor set from Prime and Magnus and swap them in robot mode, you cannot do the same in vehicle mode.  While this figure does a good job approximating the original Cybertron Optimus’ vehicle mode, there are additional differences apart from the size differential.  The blasters on the roof of the vehicle have swapped sides, though they do maintain their correct orientation in robot mode.  The tubes that formed the sides of the bumper in the 2005 figure have moved to the front of the number on this update.  The blasters which sat further inside the original Cybertron Prime can be connected to the sides in a close approximation of their previous ubication.  Additionally, there are minor color differences due to plastic and paint and overall mold layout.
This mold uses the C.O.M.B.A.T. System attributes that allow weapons and effects from the Siege line to be used in various spots along the vehicle mode.  This may be one area where the new figure does outshine the original, as creative fans can show him super powered up with weapons, or under attack from enemy fire.  It’s a cool gimmick, since it tends to not interfere with articulation, something fans complained about during the days of the AEC trilogy.
Overall, I really like this updated vehicle mode, even if it is smaller than the original.  I feel like I can get this one out and fidget with it and leave my original Cybetron Prime on the top shelf, safely guarding his fellow Autobots.  The modular components and the new C.O.M.B.A.T. System gimmickry make the vehicle mode on par with the original, in my opinion.  Different, but similarly great.
  Inner Robot Mode
The “unarmored” Optimus Prime is a cool cross between G1 and Cybetron Prime.  He shares numerous parts with Siege Ultra Magnus’ inner robot mode, and thus is able to fully swap armors with his mold brother in powered up mode.  Significant differences in molded parts are the cab and lower vehicle mode kibble, as well one side of the pelvis cover.  Due to the base mold, this Prime is a bit stockier than his original Siege body.  This nicely accommodates the widened chest on this mold, which is formed by the cab of the truck mode.
This mode balances well for posing and looks great in action shots.  If not for the cost, I think I would like to have an extra of him and Magnus to display as the inner robots.  Maybe I will luck out and score an extra loose on eBay in a couple of years.
  Galaxy Upgrade Mode
Fully powered up, this mode is where the figure takes on a whole new personality.  The “trailer” end of the vehicle mode breaks down into upgrade armor parts to form a reasonable facsimile of Cybertron Optimus Prime/Galaxy Convoy.  Additional parts in the form of shoulder pads that resemble the tops of the cab and vehicle mode front wheels and grill that attach to the side of the arms complete the look.
While this mode as stated is very similar to the original Leader Class figure, it’s not nearly as close as the relationship between Energon Leader Class Megatron and the smaller “downsized” Superlink version.  Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime.  Beyond the Siege style sculpt, the biggest differences lie in the legs, which are thicker and shorter due to the armor design of the base mold, the weapons, which are much more simplified, the forearms, which really don’t look like the original figure at all, and the head, which works better on this toy due to the lack of a faceplate feature and a ball joint that actually works (take note Hasbro design team…THIS is how you make a ball-jointed head for a Transformer).
Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime has impressive poseability, as long as you don’t mind the need for him to hold the blasters from his backpack, which look a little strange just hanging to the side.  If you include them in his poses, he will look powerful and “cartoon accurate”.  If you want them out of the way and do not mind the hollow spaces under the barrels, you can rotate them behind the backpack.  This frees up his arms and honestly looks pretty cool, since now he effectively has a “jet fighter” looking mode.  I think I prefer this look for the Siege figure, since it allows me to take full advantage of his poseability and gives him a different look from the figure he is meant to homage.  Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime has articulation in all the necessary points, including some nice extras, such as rotating wrists, jointed ankles, and a rotating waist.  The added support of the stabilizers on the back of his feet to keep him from falling backward is seriously appreciated.
Cycling back to the nice range of movement in the head’s ball joint is important at this moment.  This is a serious point of articulation that Hasbro’s current design team does not implement with consistency.  Frequently there are ball jointed heads, but they have little to no range that could not be achieved with a mushroom/t-joint, making the inclusion of a ball joint a mystery.  I realize I harp on this a lot, but I do so in the hopes that somehow someone on the current design team or the future design team reads this and realizes that head/neck articulation in the mainline or fan-oriented line is important.  Again, big thanks to the designer that got it right on Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime.
  Overall Thoughts
Compared with the original figure, Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime has some nice updates/upgrades, but the original figure gets the better of him in terms of size and active action features, netting him a 7/10.  In terms of balance, poseability, and compatibly with Siege figures, I would score him closer to a 9/10.  Therefore, I give Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime an amalgamated score of 8 Cyber Keys out of 10!
Honestly, the smaller size, new proportions, and better poseability in the head give this mold some serious advantages over the original…but not enough for me to ever consider it a full-on replacement for Cybertron Prime, who has neat action features and a shelf presence that Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime cannot replace. I am fortunate to have enough space for both versions on my shelf, so Cybertron Prime will lord over my collection on the top shelf while Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime pulls active duty with his fellow Autobots on my current CW/TR/PotP/PW shelf.
Should you not like smaller “Leader Class” figures, or if the hollow spaces I see many fans complaining about also bother you, I would skip this figure, especially if you own the original mold.  If you are a fan of remakes of older figures, don’t want to spend money buying the older mold or cannot find one, love the play value of the C.O.M.B.A.T. System (how could you not) or simply do not have the shelf space to display many of the larger leader class figures of the past, this figure is for you!
Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime has been popping up all over the country, though as of this post I still hear reports of people being told he cannot be sold due to the street date.  Do not worry.  That street date will eventually pass, and he will eventually make it to online retailers.  Once that happens, I recommend him, and think you should buy him too!
Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime Gallery and Review! Desperately racing against time in unknown parts of the Allspark Studio is Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime!  Will he serve as a role model for his fellow Autobots on your shelves, or will he spend his days looking for that Cyber key you lost back in 2005?
