songs i was not prepared to hear played by various corps at the DCI competition today, in no particular order:
Welcome to the Black Parade (my brother and i both had a visceral reaction)
Everything in its Right Place by Radiohead (for personal reasons. i cannot escape this song)
Hymn of Axciom (also for personal reasons. very creepy lyrics in that one but it fit with the show so very well)
Take Me to Church (and it was beautiful. my soul left my body)
Wellerman (as in. the sea shanty. and it slapped)
Idk what the song was but troopers had a harmonica (and also the coolest props their show was amazing)
Tank! (as heard in cowboy bebop, a show me and my father love very much)
in conclusion: i love marching band. DCI is so cool. all of these songs absolutely slapped in each performance

On A Good Note
Jesse/Fem!Reader
Fictober 2024 Day 25 of 31
Words: 1,293
Summary: Jesse's crush on one of the singers at 79's isn't hard to miss, and it just so happens that she likes him too.
Clone Troopers Masterlist
Tumblr media
A chorus of groans echoed through the room moments after Jesse suggested that they go to 79’s that night. They all knew why he wanted to go, and it had nothing to do with the drinks.
“You do know your girlfriend won’t be there, right?” Fives asked, laying back on his bunk. “It’s karaoke night, she’s probably off.”
Jesse already did a terrible job at hiding the wicked crush he had on one of the bar’s rotating musical acts, but this time he didn’t even catch himself before speaking. “What? No, she’ll be there, it’s Zhellday.”
Kix smiled at his brother’s pining. They had been introduced to you on multiple occasions and you always made a point to say hello whenever you saw them, so it made sense why his batchmate was so smitten. Jesse was definitely not the only clone in the GAR with a case of lovesickness though, but Kix never elected to point that fact out when the opportunity presented itself (and it had, on multiple occasions).
Echo looked up from the datapad he had previously been working on. “Why would they pay her to be there when the entertainment of the evening is going to be made up of whatever di’kuts are drunk enough to take the stage?”
“It won’t be the whole night though,” Jesse pointed out. “They usually turn off the karaoke machine a couple hours in.”
“Yeah, once the staff can’t handle any more,” Hardcase said. “We all have the same voice, how is it possible that some of us can be so bad at singing, while others sound perfect?”
A collective shudder went through the group as they remembered the last time they went to karaoke night at 79’s, where a group of shinies failed so spectacularly at carrying a tune that people were actually getting up and leaving. And since all this had come after an angel voiced medic belted out a catchy song with his name in the title, it was a little more embarrassing for those troopers than it might have been if they followed another act.
Jesse stood there as he stared at his brothers. In his heart he knew that he was right, and that you would indeed be there this evening, whether you were performing or not. “Want to make a bet of it?” he asked. “Ten credits says she’s there.”
Fives shrugged. “I’ll take that bet,” he said. “It’s not like we had any other ideas of where to go tonight.”
***
Much to Jesse’s dismay, it seemed like his brothers were right. By the time they had arrived at 79’s the karaoke machine was already out, and some members of the Wolfpack were currently on the stage, showing off their (surprisingly good) rendition of the galaxy’s current top hit. Jesse scanned the crowd of people, and though not everyone here was a clone, he didn’t find what he was looking for. He would never admit it, but not seeing you put a damper on the night he wasn’t sure he could remove, and it wasn’t even about the fact that he was now ten credits poorer.
Sitting in the 501st’s empty booth and nursing a drink that had surely been watered down, Jesse was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn’t really notice anyone sit down next to him, not until you said his name.
What happened next was not his finest moment, as he almost dropped his drink and then forgot how to talk. “You’re here,” he finally managed to stutter out, a look of surprise surely on his face. In the face of danger he was able to make quick decisions and react accordingly in record time, but apparently all that went out the window when it came to you.
You smiled, and Jesse immediately tried to commit that image to memory. “I am,” you said. “You sound shocked.”
“We had guessed you wouldn’t be here,” was his quick response. “You know, because it’s karaoke night.” If he was trying in any way to sound cool, this was not helping.
“You were kind of right,” you said. “I’m not here in an official sense, but I happen to like it here, so I stopped by to see some karaoke in action.”
“Really?” Jesse gesturing up to the stage, where a 327th trooper’s voice was cracking with every other lyric. “Do you regret it yet?”
The laugh that came from you was heavenly, Jesse decided in that moment. And it would have been the best thing he’d ever experienced, had he not seen your smile grow at the same time. “I think my ears will sooner or later,” you said. “But you’ve been pretty good company so far.”
“You’re welcome to stay here as long as you want,” he said. “Most of my brothers won’t come back or sit down until they want to leave.”
Much to his surprise (and delight), you stayed. Past conversations with you had always been easy, despite how the butterflies he felt every time you looked his way. But this time it was only him you were speaking to, rather than sharing some pleasantries with the entire company as you passed by their table between your sets. Now, he had you all to himself, even if it would be for the briefest of moments.
Jesse could see fatigue on your face as your head began to droop, and when the first yawn exited your mouth, he was already moving to get out of the booth. “Let me walk you home.”
You shook your head, stifling another yawn at the same time. “No, you don’t have to.”
“Please,” he said. “I want to make sure you get there safe.”
You didn’t argue any more, and Jesse sent a quick communication to his brothers that he was leaving early and would see them the next day. He didn’t mention the reason that he had left, but he figured that the whole battalion already knew who he had spent most of his time tonight with, so it didn’t really matter. They would tease him tomorrow about it anyway, no matter what happened.
Your apartment was close by, and the two of you walked side by side through the chilly night air. Jesse was growing tired too, and by the time you were pulling a key from your pocket and unlocking your door, he certainly was feeling the urge to yawn.
“Thank you,” you said sincerely, turning around as the door creaked open. “Seriously.”
“Don’t worry about it,” he said. Maker, he was so close to you right now, it was more intoxicating than the liquor he had already consumed. He really wanted to kiss you, and the weirdly awkward moment where the two of you stared at each other was doing nothing to counteract that desire.
As you leaned in, he mirrored your movements, and when your lips grazed his cheek, it felt like he was dreaming. “Wait,” he breathed, right as you were about to pull away. “May I?”
He would have elaborated, but it was clear you were thinking the same thing. He didn’t even move to close the gap between you before your lips were on his, and Jesse’s brain stopped working at that moment. His hands instinctively moved to your hips as he poured every bit of emotion into the kiss.
He was just glad that this hadn’t happened in the bar, because the teasing from his brothers would have been absolutely relentless. At least now, he could try to keep this new development to himself (even though the dopey smile he couldn’t wipe off his face would most definitely give him away).
Whatever his brothers would say was absolutely worth the embarrassment though, that he knew for sure.
- the end -

✨Space lesbians✨
Tumblr media
Amnesia AU link here.
Please ignore the bad hand, I hate drawing hands.
This is Chora(oc) and Yaosney(ES-02, not her canon name, I made it up). They are girlfriends and seeing each other for the first time in person since Yaosney was offered a position within the Empire.
The scars on their arms are from work related injuries, they are both bounty hunters and injury comes with the territory. Yaosney's scar on her face is from currently undecided trauma but she's had it for a long time. She generally covers it when on duty or out and about, she doesn't like getting asked about it.
Yaosney was offered/sorta volunteered when she saw the paycheck, a position as a soldier in the Empire, one of the first non clone troopers.
She was a better and more versatile fighter than the rest of the options and was picked for the Elite Squad led under a clone commander.
She's got the most experience of that entire squad, even Crosshair, cause she is about ~30(like Chora) and been doing the bounty hunter thing fir well over a decade, Crosshair is 12 and while he's been training for soldier stuff his whole life, he's got a lot less field experience. She doesn't mention it unless it is nessicary for a situation.
She's also the oldest of the squad, the rest are mid to late twenties. She isn't like the group mom or anything, she's like the group tired of your bs thirty year old.
She doesn't actually believe in the Empire beyond it being a good way to get a constant flow of money relatively easily for someone with her skills. She'll fake loyalty but she isn't actually a believer, she's just using it for her own means.
She's really doing it to build connections and get some money built up in case of an emergency, specifically for Chora cause non human med care is harder and more expensive, not made easier by the Empire which she gets pissed about. Bounty hunting is a gig to gig sort of job, so the Empire was the opportunity for something a bit more stable, even if it didn't always pay as much as some hunts did but it is a constant thing.
Chora didn't try to join because she really doesn't do good in that military setting and needs a degree of autonomy in her work, also she's smart enough to pick up on the fact that the Empire is a human centered government, like the Republic, and she knows she wouldn't have been allowed in based on her species. She's fine with that though.
Yaosney and Chora definitely get up to a lot of stuff and makes lots of comments about doing the stuff, just cause they both enjoy making everyone else feel very awkward, Chora was raised on Massanii, she's a bit of a shit and an asshole by nature. They've been dating since before the clone wars.
This was fun to draw, I wanna draw them again soon but I am bad at side profiles so I can't do any of that sort of stuff with them, I could draw them on a hunt together and I probably will cause that's a good idea I just thought of, but I've got some other things on my plate I wanna do.
I'm thinking of redrawing some old bad batch art of Omega and Merrin and fixing it, it was before the show came out and I didn't have a very good idea of what Omega looked like. I also forgot Merrin would also be like 12 and not 17 like she is in the game😅. That'll be fun!
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you!

"Until then"
Reader(fem) x Carlos Oliveira
Tumblr media
Written by cannibal_witchh
Contains: fluff, and very little horror
Notes: I wanted to do something wholesome compared to my Alcina fanfic, you are a trooper if you read it! I enjoy masochism and sub/dom culture so there was a decent amount in that. For this fanfiction, I wanted to change it up and focus on life with Carlos. There will be a collection of random stories and scenarios with him that don't necessarily tie together. I love his character a lot and immediately simped for him so I felt like writing some wholesome stuff about him. A few pieces of course could get naughty ;-)
This is incredibly short, and there isn't a purpose to the story. The general gist is the reader having a nightmare and Carlos comforting her.🖤 Much fluff.
*
Rain strung down from dark grey puffs that stretched and scattered across velvet blue skies. Thunder roared loudly behind furious clouds, and lightning greeted it with loud shrieks.
You quickly sat up, panting wildly, eyes wide, and heart racing. "Baby," a comforting voice said as a big warm arm wrapped under your's and around your waist. Carlos. "Please, baby, lay down with me.", his gentle voice, tired and exhausted, muffled from his face half way buried in the pillow. He gentlely squeezed his arm around you nudging you to him until you fell on your back. It was warm, the mattress gave your tense muscles relief, the comforter smelled of soft lavenders and mints, and a handsome Carlos lay beside you. His curly messy hair scattered along the pillow case, his thick eyelashes hiding sleepy brown eyes, his lips slightly parted from his in and out rest. You felt comfort knowing he was here, he had been here for a very long time, since the event at Racoon City. He helped you escape while he stayed back in all the turmoil. Never did it occur to you, you'd see him in another city again. After all, you didn't say much to him, he did all the talking, all you simply said was constant variations of thank yous and apologies. The words you left him with as he helped you depart the city engulfed in flames was a simple, "Until then." Many months passed, you never forgot the kindness he showed you, it saved your life, and you knew very well you wouldn't have lived if jt hadn't been for him rescuing you.
*
The day it all happened, you were working at the museum, barely getting by with the minimal pay they supplied you with. You lived very average, and within a blink of an eye, just like wildfire, the city was in flames and people evolved into walking corpses. It changed so drastically, the terror that consumed you, it was haunting. You managed to barricade yourself in your supervisor's office for several hours all alone. Hugging your knees under the desk, shivering from the welcomed fear that settled under your skin. The moment you entered that office and locked yourself in, it took three hours for the screams and growls to silence. It was a painful long three hours. Your legs stained in blood, not even certain who or what it belonged to. Not certain if it belonged to a colleague or a customer. After the fourth hour, you heard the door handle rattle, and immediately jumped in horror. " Is someone in here?", a gentle voice asked. " If someone is in there, I work for Umbrella. We are searching the city for survivors to assist in evacuation. If there is someone in there please don't hesitate to let us help you in retreating to safety." the voice continued. That moment was an absolute gamble, you could've been shot by someone, or eaten by the undead. You decided to open the door, barely peaking through the cracks seeing the condition the museum was in. There was a figure that stood infront of the door, but behind him was a collapsed museum, dead bodies laying everywhere, bullets scattered along ruined rugs, and windows busted out. The man that stood before you was dressed in tactical apparel, and held a lowered rifle in his hands. He didn't exactly fit the mercenary military look, his dark hair was incredibly shaggy, and he had facial hair, although, he looked young. He looked as if he was of a South American descent, his skin tan and his eyes dark. " It's ok, my name is Carlos, I work with Umbrella. Please, let me help you. No more lives need to end at the cost of this pandemic." He had a light accent and his voice seemed sincere. He seemed genuinely concerned with helping you and didn't seem to display any selfish intents. What made it easier to adleast discard a little caution was he wasn't being incredibly pushy. " Whats your name?", he said backing away from the door offering some space to you. You opened the door slowly, examining with your eyes your surroundings. He seemed to be alone, and surprisingly, it looked as if he cleared the area of the undead. You came out of the room, legs trembling, eyes fixed on Carlos, and your arms hugging yourself. " My name is Y/N. " you reached your hand out still afraid but adleast offering a since of humanity. Whatever existed that remained. Carlos made a small grin, it was charming, and he reached a big hand out to shake your hand firmly. " Pleasure, miss."
*
Thunder struck loudly in the distance startling you and interrupting your reminiscing . Carlos gave a warm squeeze around your waist, making soft muffled sounds into the pillow, he finally turned his face away from it, and partially opened his tired eyes. " Baby, its just a small storm. Whats got you so worked up?", he asked as he pulled you closer to him and buried his nose into your neck. You felt his delicate breath brushing against your skin and his soft lips pressing against your back. " You already know, Carlos. Its still hard for me to get over it.", you hinted to him the cause of your distress and he immediately knew it was the trauma of Racoon City. "Baby, I am not gonna rest anymore until you sleep. You need rest, I need my little museum guide perked up and looking fine as ever in her tiny tight skirt.", he teased attempting to lighten the mood. His lips pressing again against your back, his eyelashes batting on your skin, and tickling you. " Ugh, Carlos. Go to sleep.", you demanded rolling your eyes and pulling away trying to surpress you liked his idea. You let out a half way annoyed sigh as you felt his arm wrap around your waist again. He was incredibly clingy and cuddly. " Baby girl, shhh.", he chuckled, rising up, and sitting beside you. His shaggy hair falling into his eyes but still his long eyelashes peeked through all that hair. You obliged at his request, feeling him drape both his arms around you, and pulling your head under his chin. He rested his nose on the top of your head, smelling your hair, and letting out a pleased sigh. " You smell wonderful, darling.", you felt him smile as you traced your finger tips along his arms. His warmth gave you peace, despite the constant thundering, his arms felt safe to you.
Eventually, him holding you and humming a soft melody gifted you with sleepy eyes. It took fourty minutes but Carlos managed to relieve your anxiety and the two of you fell back to sleep as the storm persisted on.

Murphy day Pt. 2
Masterlist - Part 1 - Part 3 - Part 4
Pairing: Bad Batch x Reader
Words: 3161 words
Warnings: Curses.
A/N:  Yes, I put some ARK:Survival evolved creatures in this, so I do not own their concept. They are just so cute! Also I’m not as good at worldbuilding as @shadow-hyder .
Fors is an Original planet. I do not give permission to people to use it for their own fics, the planet, the animals, the Nightmares, the lore or anything related to Fors. Thank you.
Tumblr media
"So you guys are Commandos?" You asked as Hunter moved aside the colorful plant blocking your way, his steps following yours closely.
For the last 10 minutes, you've managed to make good progress in your quest to reach the clones' ship. So deep into the jungle, the prank traps were nonexistent, making it easier for the group to venture without a hitch although it also meant that you were out of the village's defence system.
Wrecker had been chattering with you for the most part, explaining that they weren't regular clones when you pointed out that referring to them as 'clones' was basically going against the definition of the word as they all looked completely different from one another.
Unbeknownst to you, a certain bad batcher started to think that you may not be as annoying as he initially thought, your comment about the fact that their mutations made them the best version of their kind was running through his mind.
The jungle is in constant evolution! Only the bests survive and to do that, they need to mutate! It's the same with you guys. Your mutations make you even more adapted to survive and do your job. That's impressive.
"We are!" You could tell Wrecker was immensely proud of being an elite special team, his enthusiasm made his voice even louder.
You'd hoped that Wrecker's voice mixed with Tech's repulsive odor would keep the nasty fangs away. Unfortunately, bad luck decided to show its face again.
A branch snapped behind you catching your attention, prompting you to stop dead in your tracks and turn around at the same moment Hunter did. He didn't even have to lift his hand, his troop immediately turned like one man while lifting their blasters towards the moving and cracking flora, their feet firmly planted on the ground, ready to engage whatever there was lurking around.
The animal was clearly making its way into your direction, its form moved the plants around to form a clear path towards your group.
The utter silence was nerve wracking. The birds had stopped chirping a while back, when Wrecker had exploded in laughter at one of your joke, the jerboas were definitely keeping themselves at bay along with every non-lethal creature around.
Crouching very slowly, you reached for your knife, the warm wood connecting with your fingertips relaxed your stress just a little.
A sigh of relief left your lips when a familiar bleating sound reached your ears. Releasing your knife, you pushed past the rest of the group to search the tall grass for the small herbivore.
"It's fine." You breathed, your eyes falling on the excited baby, its cute face almost making you aww.  "'s just a Shinehorn." You crouched to carefully take the small light-brown goat in your arms, its tail wagging quickly in excitement.
The troopers dropped their weapons, all their helmets now focussed on the wiggling animal in your arms. Slowly, you put it back down before giving him more pets under its chin.
The Shinehorn was still very young, the top of his head reaching just below your knees and his tiny green horns flashing lowly in his excitement. You traced the two green lines marking its back with your fingers, the squeaks you received in response making you giggle.
"What's a Shinehorn?" Tech asked, crouching next to you to be closer and scan the baby with his helmet.
"They are small herbivorous animal. Their horns can glow in the dark! Very useful when we have to do night hunts or anything in the dark." You grabbed some berries from a bush nearby, feeding them to him. "They're also very docile."
With a last pet between its green horns, you got up and let your place to Wrecker who clearly wanted to gush over the newfound ball of cuteness.
Out of the corner of your eyes, you noticed Crosshair, his hand still firmly wrapped around his rifle like the little goat would pound on him or something.
“Oh! I just thought about that, I know you’re probably very experienced with your blasters seeing as you're all the cream of the clones, but could you not have them in your hands?” You lifted your hands in the air in surrender at Crosshair’s constipated expression. “Just sayin’! Been there, done that, ya know!”
"You accidently shot someone?" Hunter turned his attention from the intriguing creature to you.
"Not me. But before the laws strictly prohibed people to go out on Murphy day, it was common occurrence."
All you received was a grunt of aknowledgement, before Hunter called his team back and started walking again.
To your amusement, the little Shinehorn followed your steps, happily jumping around but never getting in anyones' way. From time to time, you'd grab nearby berries from tall trees to feed him in hope that he'd take a permanent liking to you so you could maybe take him with you on your way back home.
For the seventh time that morning, Tech tripped on his feet, muttering words in a foreign language that you were sure were curses. It was almost normal now. The small clone would fall on the ground, curse, get up and continue for the cycle to restart a couple of minutes later. You didn't think any of it, having stopped turning around in concern at the 4th time. He had his armor to protect him after all.
Although, this time you should have turned around. You would have seen that in his fall, Tech tripped Wrecker who was now losing his balance.
A clash of armor hitting armor mixed with the very sudden movement right beside you made you yelp in surprise. Hunter grunted, out of breath and confused, under Wrecker's imposing form.
Chuckles flew off your mouth, too quickly for you to keep them in, as the bigger clone moved off its C.O.
"Maybe we could take a break." You proposed, hand digging into your pocket to retrieve your tap.
"Wouldn't hurt."
At Hunter's approval you swiftly grabbed your knife, found the nearest bigger tree and tapped it to access the sugary water within the core of the tree. As the water started to drop down the tap, you moved yourself in front of the flow and opened your mouth to drink, calming down your thirsty driven mind.
Once you were satisfied, you moved aside to let the others access the water.
"Help yourselves." You motioned toward the dripping tap before sitting next to Crosshair who was picking fruits in a small tree, his helmet on the jungle floor.
Wrecker was the first to taste the water, his face enlightening the whole jungle with his delighted smile.
"It's sweet!" He stated to your amusement. He seemed more and more like a child.
"Yeah. All the drinkable water here is sweet. If it doesn't have a taste, you should spit it out, 'cause it means that it's full of bacterias."
You stretched your legs to be more comfortable, your hands behind you supporting your body. You petted absentmindedly the young Shinehorn, enjoying the humid wind caressing your face.
Everyone had their chance to drink, the last one being Crosshair who removed the tap from the tree before throwing the object back at you at your demand.
The goat approached Crosshair's pile of fruit, clearly interested into eating them, when he was gently denied access by a hand.
"Not for you Shiny." The sniper muttered, protecting his precious.
Nice name.
"Pass me some, Crosshair?" Tech asked his brother from his spot before you, helmet now at his side.
Without a word, you saw a fruit being thrown into Tech's hands. The precision of the shot was flawless and it would have impressed you to no end if your eyes hadn't caught the color of the fruit that Tech was bringing to his mouth.
"Don't eat that!" You yelled, pushing you forward to slap the pink fruit out of the clone's hand. "Those are the bad ones." You said, ignoring his yelp of pain at your slap.
"But they smell sweet like the water in the tree."
"Yeah because the tree wants you to eat them instead of the good stuff. It's a defence system." You picked the fruit and threw it away.
"The ones that smell not so good," You said, picking up a grey similar fruit. "are the good ones. Taste sweet and won't make you puke your guts for hours. There ya go." You passed the fruit to Tech whose gaze was fixed onto something behind you.
You turned, confused about Tech's worried expression. Realisation hit you like a train, Crosshair didn't have to tell you that he fucked up, his white face along with the almost completely eaten pink fruit in his hand were telling you enough.
"Kriff. Are you feeling nauseous yet?" You genuinely asked, no sarcasm or malice in your voice. You knew what pain he'd be in, having learned your lesson the hard way, just like him.
You'd passed a whole day puking like there was no end, bruising your abdominal muscles in the constant effort they had to muster so you could evacuate the content of your stomach, hurting from the biliary acid burning your throat, fighting against the fatigue, dehydration and starvation.
"Yes." You heard his breathing accelerating and knew what was coming.
A shiver ran up your spine when he quickly turned around to empty his stomach on the jungle floor. You wanted to help him but knew he'd probably take it badly, so you let his brothers do their thing while you walked a bit away, searching for a specific plant.
At the moment, you quickly forgot that at the beginning of the trip he had told you to shut up, that he had it coming. You were too empathetic for your good. Once again.
"I'll be back." You told Hunter before venturing away with Shiny.
"Please be close, please be close, please-" Searching around, you moved the grass around, peaking at the flowers for yellow petals with purple edges. Shiny whined at your side, nudging you a bit to get your attention, but you chose to ignore the needy baby to continue your flower hunt.
A bit farther away, yellow petals caught your attention, your legs moving forward to get to them in seconds. With a victory hum, you crouched to pull the base of the flower, exposing its tortuous roots.
You got up at the same time a low growl reached your ears, freezing you on the spot. Eyes scanned your right frantically for the source of the sound, a pair of sparkling dark hues staring back at you with hunger. Your blood ran cold into your veins, the imposing Dire bear was a good feet taller than you, surely reaching Wrecker's height.
You clutched the root into your left hand, your right hitching to grab your knife at your ankle. In a very slow movement, you lifted your foot to allow your hand to grab the wooden handle. You almost succeeded when Hunter chose this moment to come looking for you, yelling your name into the trees.
The Dire bear got scared and ran for you in a roar and you knew you were dead. You couldn't possibly outrun it and had no way to fight it. But you had to try, right? Run, I mean.
So you ran, the most primal part of your brain taking control and ordered your legs to move as fast as possible towards the armed clones.
You hadn't ventured too far and Hunter had followed your trail, so your wide terrified eyes met his, the Dire bear almost on you to bite on your neck. In last resort, you put all your faith in the sergeant's quick thinking, diving to the ground, screaming at him to shoot.
You crashed unceremoniously on your chest, missing the sound of blasters opening fire. An incredibly heavy weight fell on you, pressing your whole body into the dirt, trapping your joined hands under your abdomen. The shock emptied your lungs of air, your mouth and nose were full of furr and dirt, making you panic.
You desperately tried to push the weight away, take a deep breath of air and scream, but you couldn't do anything. You were trapped. You'd asphyxiate and die. All this because you couldn't control your stupid curiosity. Curiosity killed the tooka.
You felt tears form in your eyes at the thought, for you were not ready to die. There was so much you still wanted to do.
Suddenly, the weight disappeared from your back and you were harshly pulled away and rolled onto your back. Your crying wide eyes met the sergeant's, your lungs taking in the biggest inhalations they ever let in, before a wobbly smile stretched your lips.
"F-found t-the cu-re." You managed to get out in broken words. Your hands opened slowly, showing the brown roots hidden between your fingers.
Hunter sighed, relieved that you were alright despite crossing path with death. You were lucky he decided to follow the Shinehorn when it started acting up.
"Are you okay Y/N?" Wrecker's head appeared beside Hunter's, searching your body for wounds. "You're crying."
Arms slipped under your back and knees, lifting you without a problem. Your hands immediately closed around the root, gripping them tightly like they were life itself.
" 'm not dead so I'm good." Your head fell onto Hunter's shoulder, you found comfort into the hard uncomfortable piece of armor. You were alive to feel it. "Thank you."
He looked at you for a couple of seconds and you tried to control the heat assaulting your cheeks by taking deep breaths in. You definitely weren't admiring his tattoo from up close.
"Didn't do it for you. I had to save the plant." He answered, sarcasm lacing his words.
You chuckled, closing your eyes for a second. You felt all your energy leaving your body, the adrenalin that powered you moments ago dissipated and let exhaustion consume you.
"Is she alright?" Tech asked, as another retching sound echoed around.
"You tell me. Scan her."
It took a couple of seconds, but you managed to open your eyes to see Tech with his helmet on, the thin screen that was previously up was now right before his eyes. He had a tool in hand, blue rays emanating from its extremity to scan your body.
"No broken bones or internal injury. She's fine." He lifted the screen back up to get a better view of your state.
"Can you stand?" Hunter asked.
"Almost sure I can."
So Hunter lowered your feet to the ground, his hand lifting near your shoulder in case you fell. Your legs were still a bit wobbly, but you stood up, trying to ground yourself at the best of your ability.
You opened your numb fingers, giving the root to Tech who looked at it with a frown on his face.
"Break a small piece, remove the skin and give it to Crosshair. It'll help with the nausea and muscle pain." You told him, proud that your voice didn't break.
"A piece like this?" He broke a piece and showed it to you, not wanting to give too much. They had learned that they should ask you first before eating something.
"Yeah. Keep the rest for later."
Nodding, Tech took the vibroknife in Hunter's hand to peel the root, placed the rest of it in his bag, before walking to his grey-haired brother. He tripped once, but managed to stay on his feet.
You sit on the ground to relieve your legs for a bit, at least until Crosshair was able to walk without puking every 30 seconds. You were sure he'd be as wobbly on his feet as you for a totally different reason. Definitely not ideal for a field trip in the wild jungle.
It took a good 10 minutes for Crosshair's stomach to settle, his retching stopped, letting him to deal with a slight nausea. With your tap, Hunter managed to get water to Crosshair and yourself before everyone packed up and prepared to go again. Shiny had returned after some time, the poor baby stopped running around and stayed closer to the group.
"We're almost there." Tech announced at some point and you were grateful. Your legs were ready to abandon you for a while now, although you pushed through to not burden anyone with your adrenalin-less exhaustion.
"The ship is just after these trees."
One feet before the other. You repeated to yourself. At this point, all of your concentration was on your feet, you let the environment to Hunter and his apparently enhanced senses. Right, left, right, lef-
You bumped into Crosshair who had gained energy during the walk while you had the opposed effect. You waited for the harsh comment to come, but it never did.
"Where's the ship Tech?" Wrecker asked, confused.
"That's not possible! This isn't the same place! The coordinates are wrong!" He started to panic.
You dropped on your knees beside Crosshair, the open clearing without a ship was the last tol.
"Describe it to me. " You muttered.
"What?" The sniper asked, his glare finding your exhausted face.
"Describe it to me. The place where you left your ship." You concentrated yourself on your breathing, noticing how you started to inhale too quickly.
"There was a field of glowing purple flowers and a stream with a big rock on one side. There was a gigantic tree too. Way bigger than the rest." He remembered.
You sighed, tried to get back up with your shaky hands only to be helped by the sniper who pulled you by the pit of your arm. You smiled at him in thanks.
"That's the Waytree." You pointed on your left. "20 minutes of walk in this direction."
"But that's such a great gap between my coordinates and-" Tech stopped as soon as he met your tired eyes, reading perfectly what you were telling yourself. "It's today."
"Exactly." You huffed, forcing your legs to start walking again.
Hunter watched you intensely but you pushed forward, forcing your body to obey you and not fail. All it took was one word from Hunter and a movement of his head toward you.
"Wrecker."
Suddenly, you found yourself bridal style in his arms and were carried for the rest of the trip despite you affirming that you were fine and that you were perfectly able to walk by yourself.
From your position, you had a perfect view of the sky, worrying you to no end.
"No pressure but I'm sure it'll soon start to ra-" A drop of water hit Wrecker's helmet right before your eyes. "Awesome." You sighed.

🍒 Okay tub time with Kix? 😗👌🏻 Exquisite. So good. Where do i find such a caring man ugh and a clean bathtub chores suck
New Cherry Thot of the Week… This one’s hella self-indulgent but don’t worry bestie, i’m dragging you along for the ride too… Picture it: The Marauder, 19 BBY (did i spend 3 minutes looking that up for this dumb joke? yeah…) Somehow, you and I have joined up with the Bad Batch on some kind of mission. Details don’t matter because the important thing is we’re sharing a tiny spaceship with 5 hunks. 🥰 But obvs we have our favorites… I’m going with Wrecker for you (i know you love Hunter too, but just hear me out, this thot has a purpose) and Crosshair for me.
But here’s the thing. We somehow figure out they like us back (maybe Tech spills the beans), AND they have a bet going… Who can win us over first? Because these 2 are always competing over something with each other right?
And like hot damn, but also ohh there’s so much we can do with this info 😈 We both start teasing our respective guys, leading them on a little, not giving in to their flirting or anything so they can’t say they’ve won the bet for a while. They get more frustrated. More… pent up… And… well… so do we…
Uh oh. Maybe we can’t play this much longer. Maybe one day it’s too much, and one of us races to our crush prepared to just kiss them silly, only to find they had the same idea. And then afterward we try to find the other, and discover they couldn’t hold out with their guy either 🙈 And maybe it’s awkward, maybe Wrecker and Crosshair argue over who actually won forever, but it was kinda weirdly fun anyway. We’re happy, and happy for each other. /EndofSappyStory 🍒
cherry. my love. my life.
this might be the best thing that you have ever gifted me holy fuck the way i BLUSHED while reading this??? whooooooo jesus i love this so much!!! 😭 okay lots to unpack here:
1. excellent golden girls reference again. made me giggle and i appreciate the research tech would be proud of u hehe
2. you and i being bffs in this thot made me so happy aw
3. EXCELLENT CHARACTER CHOICE FOR US OMFG i couldn't stop thinking about the "don't worry wrecker you'll top him next time" "no he wOnT" while reading bc omfg those lines applied to this kind of bet????? AAAAHHHHH IM HAVING A CRISIS
i'm gonna write this in sections, actual encounters with the boys happen in sections 3 and 4 with our sexy murder toothpick man being up first! also this is gonna be pre-omega but post-echo joining the batch
self indulgent filth and fluff in the form of some reader insert thots below ;)
18+ as always kiddies. i really hope you enjoy! this was so fun to write
section 1: the bet
so i imagine this happening right after you guys joined the squad
and it certainly didn't take long for crosshair and wrecker to realize their feelings for you two beautiful women, although one was more brazen about his feelings than the other
one day when hunter had sent you and your friend into a market to pick up a short list of supplies, they got to talking
crosshair made an offhand remark about his girls’ ass which made wrecker fidget, he never was very composed when it came to pretty girls and this caused all the other members of the batch share knowing looks and smirks
“wrecker if you’re trying to be discreet about your feelings for ___ you’re going to have to do stop fidgeting.” tech noted, rolling his eyes when wrecker started stuttering out excuses but he was cut off by echo
“give ‘im a break. at least he isn't as vulgar as crosshair”
“you’re just jealous she doesn't flirt with you, mir'osik” (i had to search up insults in mando’a and this one means shit for brains and when i tell you i died laughing okay anyways sorry)
this made echo roll his eyes, deciding it wasn't worth it to fight over whatever stupid insult the sniper threw at him
wanting to stir the pot juuust a bit, hunter proposed a challenge for his vod. he should be the good influence on his brothers, but he couldn't help but want to see where these crushes would take them
he could hear the girls’ heartbeats intensify around their respective crushes anyways, so he had a pretty good feeling that they felt the same about his batch mates
“don’t know about the rest of you, but i want to see who can win his girl over first” this was met with a smirk from crosshair, a blush from wrecker, and side glances shared between echo and tech
“easy.” crosshair drawled, he knew he had this in the bag
he may be quieter than the others but boy was he was observant, taking note of the way her words had a hard time flowing out of her pretty mouth when he was in close proximity of his girl
wrecker on the other hand didn’t want to make her uncomfortable, in his eyes she was just so sweet. innocent, really. she wouldn’t want the same treatment he knew crosshair had in mind for his girl
the peering eyes of his squad made the large man cave with a sigh, “fine.”
section 2: the slip up
weeks had gone by since the boys established their little competition and you, your friend, and tech were working on some small repairs around the ship
you and your friend had noticed some increased...flirting from your respective guys
crosshair paid more compliments and lingering touches that seemed genuine
and wrecker flirted the best way he knew how; lifting too heavy objects and reaching for items in the tall cargo holds, handing them down with a gentle smile
tech, being the most blunt member of the squad, commented on the whispers you exchanged, dropping a surprising truth on both of your ears:
“well of course they are trying to flatter you. how else do you settle a bet to win each of you over the fastest?”
tech watched the two women freeze before him, sharing shocked looks before turning their attention to him, realization hit his gut like a crate of durasteel, and he swallowed under your stern gazes
“what do you mean, goggles?”
“they...like us?”
tech’s cheeks burned red hot, was his brow beginning to sweat? maker, it felt like it
this was the one time he didn’t feel like explaining himself, instead choosing to coyly excuse himself from the two pairs of watchful eyes
he left you and your friend to stare at each other before both rolling your eyes, “well now we know who spills secrets the easiest” your friend chuckled, shaking her head
after a few moments of silence you both spoke up, deciding there wasn’t that much harm in playing along with the two members of the batch. you were fond of them, after all
you both continued chuckling about the situation, mostly out of disbelief that the flirting and teasing wasn’t just a hopeful facade your minds made up
once the repairs were completed, you both retired to opposite ends of the ship, minds full of deliberation of how you would handle this new information
section 3: the gunport
you were sat in the gunport, musing the situation you found yourself in, hands picking at your fingernails in an effort to curb your nerves
on one hand you didn’t want to ruin the bond you had with the marksman
what if he was just flirting out of pure boredom? there isn’t much to do in a confined ship like this anyways, he might as well pass the time flirting with a woman in his general vicinity
but it just had to mean something
no way the whispered compliments - most of them accompanied with a wink, no less - meant absolutely nothing to him
you decided that you had enough, this was going to eat you alive if you didn't get to the bottom of what was going on in that head of his
with a huff, you stood straight and turned around to exit the space
but you were met with a silver haired man climbing up the ladder
you both froze, both internally freaking out at the basically forced confrontation
oh gods what is he doing up here? did he read my mind??
...shit what do i do i forgot everything i was going to say to her
you nervously chuckled, figuring that you were going to go talk to him anyways so might as well get this over with
“crosshair... um i need to ask you something”
“no, i need to tell you something cyar’ika. i’m tired of sitting here and watching you walk around all day, not being able to show you how i feel.”
now that left you speechless, mouth slightly hanging open in shock to which he deeply chuckled at, “hope this isn't the first time i leave you speechless.”
there it was, that smug attitude that made you roll your eyes but also ignited a heat in your lower abdomen
with a smirk, you decided to play it back to him. two can play at this game, lanky
“well it’d be pretty rude to not demonstrate what you had in mind, trooper”
this was the green light crosshair needed, quickly heaving himself up the last few rungs of the ladder, his hands immediately finding your waist and snatching you close, pressing a firm kiss to your lips
your hands flung up to catch the sides of his sharp cheeks, humming at the feel of his scruff under your palms as you coyly push your tongue through his lips, hoping he’ll welcome your tongue into his mouth
he does, and you are exploring each other in the most delicious way, causing soft moans and sighs to leave both of you
while you were entranced by crosshair’s mouth on yours, you didn't realize he was pushing you back onto the chair of the gunport until you were sat down and he was kneeling in between your legs, his nimble fingers clutching your thighs and hips
in a matter of minutes crosshair had managed to get your bottoms completely off, your slick panties hooked on one ankle, and your thighs over his shoulders
for a man who could run his mouth, he sure proved it
expert fingers entered your weeping cunt while his tongue prodded your bundle of nerves with sharp, quick strokes
he’s beaming at the way you’re trying to support yourself on shaky arms and trapping his head to your cunt with the backs of your calves, the sight of your head thrown back and the whimpers coming out of your mouth making him harder than he had been in a looong time
his fingers and mouth brought to your orgasm quick and hard, nearly screaming his name as your toes curled in bliss
he took his time in working you through it, making sure he could draw it out. he could get used to this.
when you can finally open your eyes and look him in the eye, you’re kissing him again, enjoying the moan he lets out at the feel of your tongue tasting yourself on him
you decide it’s his turn, and you’re pushing him into your previous spot, smiling at the way his eyes slightly widen at the way you took charge
crosshair wants to say some sexy remark, something that he knows will get you to sheepishly smile and look away but he can’t, not with the sight of you sinking down to your knees and slowly pulling down his blacks, keeping eye contact and granting him a playful glint in your eye
you can't help but want to tease him just a bit, running your tongue over the bulge in his blacks
he tries his hardest to not be loud but maker, is he loud when you finally take him into your mouth and down your throat
you’ve quickly found that he enjoys eye contact while in this vulnerable state, nearly shaking when he sees your eyes brimming with tears trying not to choke on his length
one hand sneaking down to alternate cupping his balls is what pulls him over the edge, crying out with your name living on his tongue
you swallow his release, again utilizing eye contact to your benefit and drawing out another prolonged moan from him
it makes you smile in pride, loving how this hard, unyielding man turned into such a mess while you had your way with him
crosshair pats his lap and expectantly looks at you, waiting for you to perch up onto his lap, straddling him
despite being a skinnier guy, crosshair wraps you up in the warmest, most secure-feeling snuggle you have honestly ever experienced
after sharing such an intimate moment with you, he began whispering sweet nothings into your ear, about how gorgeous he thinks you are, how much he cares for you
it’s honestly kind of shocking but welcome nonetheless, cross can be kind when he wants to and you are very glad that this was the outcome of your dancing around each other for months
section 4: the interruption
you retreated back to your room, honestly just wanting to sleep and get your mind off the day
it was becoming harder and harder to not just pounce on wrecker, but you didn't want to just give it up so quickly
and to be honest, you had a bad feeling that tech was full of it
you struggled with self esteem issues for as long as you could remember, so it was difficult to believe the 'genious’ of the batch when he said that wrecker had feelings for you
despite your trepidations, your mind couldn't stop thinking about him, his broad shoulders, toned arms, huge thighs...
your hand slithered down your torso, slipping underneath the waist band of your bottoms and slowly circling your clit as images of wrecker effortlessly lifting anything that crossed his path filled your mind, honestly wishing it was you he was lifting
perhaps lifting you to brush your pussy on his nose, his tongue exploring your womanhood enough to make you shout his name
but apparently that last part was not all in your head
although you didn't shout it, wrecker definitely heard the way you whispered out his name in a moan in the dark room
he really hadn’t meant to barge in, but after a few knocks with no answer  he began to worry
he came by to tell you how he felt with absolutely no expectation of sleeping with you. truthfully, he gave up on trying to get into your pants, he was willing to lose the bet with crosshair, he knew he wasn’t as smooth as his brother anyways
while he obviously would never be opposed to making love with you, he figured that you deserved to be courted beforehand, and he thought there was no way you’d want to share your body in such an intimate way with somebody like him
but the sight he was greeted with was enough to prove himself wrong
you, spread out on your bed with your hand moving diligently under your thin lounge shorts and you moaning his name made him subconsciously let out a loud gasp
that you absolutely heard, eyes snapping open and hand coming to an abrupt halt, ripping out from under your bottoms
“wr-wrecker! what are you doing here?!”
“i- uhhh- i didn’t see anything! erm, i'm sorry, mesh’la”
by now you had your blankets covering you, despite being fully clothed, and were looking at him with mortified eyes
wrecker still stood in the doorway, unsure if he should let this opportunity pass him by
if you had told him to leave he would, he’d do anything you said, but the fact that you made no move to force him into leaving made him linger
“i'm...sorry if im overstepping mesh’la but i just- i can't stop thinking about you. and well,” he gestured to your form, still cradling the blankets to your heaving chest, “i think you think about me too”
of course you couldn't deny it, he had just seen you pleasuring yourself and moaning his name, what the hell kind of excuse could you come up with? none, that's what
his sheepishness made your heart soar, realizing he probably was just as nervous as you
deciding to cut him some slack, you slowly rose up, blanket falling to the ground as you sauntered over to his frozen frame
whispering, “you're right. do- do you want to stay?”
you had the poor man at a loss for words, eagerly nodding at your proposition and allowing you to take his hand and lead him to your bed, pushing him down so you could straddle his lap
his large cock bulging through the thin fabric of his blacks and pushing against your already hot cunt made you cry out
pure adrenaline coursed through both of you, hushed moans leaving your mouths as you steadily ground down onto him, his hand tangled in your hair and the other kneading your breast
your lips broke away from his mouth and you smirked at the look on his face, absolutely fucking giddy that this was finally happening, he had been dreaming about this moment since he first saw you
the sounds he made while you sucked on the sensitive skin of his neck encouraged you to slip a small hand down the front of his blacks and pull his thick cock out, heat flooding your body at the hiss he let out when you started slowly jacking him off
your legs were in the perfect position for him to push your shorts down and over your ass, fingers picking up where you left off and circling your clit, working you open to take one of his massive fingers
the more you squeezed his throbbing shaft, the louder wrecker became
and not wanting anybody to hear you two fooling around, you glued your mouth to his, tongues mingling in heat
the excitement of the entire situation made it not last very long overall, but you both had intense orgasms regardless
wrecker curled his - now two - fingers inside you just right, and your continued squeezes and strokes of his cock made him finish, his cum coating your palm
both of you were shaking, muffled groans and gasps filled the room until you were coming down from your simultaneous orgasms
after coming back down to the moment, wrecker chuckled and flopped down on his back, bringing you with him to crash onto his chest
you both giggled like a couple of smitten teenagers who were experiencing their first love, relishing in the butterflies in your stomachs, we just did that
“been waiting a long time to do that, doll” wrecker’s big hands rubbed up and down your curves, closing his eyes and smiling at your laugh, “i know”
his head shot up at that, “you know?” the way his eyebrows furrowed up made your chest tighten with admiration, smiling cheekily down at him, “of course i do. tech told us gals.” you leaned down to place a peck on his chin, “you think you won the bet?”
“dunno. but I feel like i just won the entire galaxy.”
it honestly didn't make much sense in your post-orgasm daze, but the endearing tone made you smile and kiss him once again
section 5: the hallway
after your respective encounters with your boys, you ran to your friend, bumping into her in the hallway, the tight space echoing your giggles and shrieks of excitement throughout the entire ship
you both were so flustered and giddy that you were talking over each other, just needing to tell her about what just happened
“i just sucked-”
“you will not believe-”
you both stopped and laughed even harder, holding onto each other for support, then your friend took a deep breath and smiled, “you first.”
the sounds emitted from you two not only made your boys smile and their chests swell with pride but also coerced some chuckles from the other members of the batch
they all knew how long these...events were in the making and how eager cross and wrecker were becoming
and in all honesty they were glad their brothers had found happiness in two girls like yourselves
nice, funny, and obviously in love with their brothers
they really could’t have asked for better women to take care of their family

hi! i’ve recently decided to rewatch all the star wars movies and take notes on them and then,,, share them with you. so if you’re even mildly interested in my star wars opinions, here you go :)
i’ll divide it into a couple categories so,,,
well start with rogue one!!
shit that made me giggle
"oh look, here’s lyra back from the dead. it’s a miracle."
everything K2 says and does. i love him and he’s perfect.
i love the continuous attempts by K2 to appear imperial and how he fails every time. not a single storm trooper or officer ever believes him when he starts running his mouth.
so sorry but bohdi getting his cable caught and trying to shake it loose is such an adorably human moment. makes me giggle every time.
i honestly thought this section would be longer, this movie made me laugh a bunch.
stuff i don’t like or doesn’t make sense
why does jyn start believing in the rebellion? there’s no indication that she cared before they found her. there’s no real turning point that we can see. she just,,, suddenly is really into this shit. which is strange because the only reason she ever joined was because she was given a non-choice (either help or get put back in prison). i guess i can kinda see how her father dying could have changed her, but we see none of that on the ship after his death. we just get to the rebel council and all of a sudden she’s the poster girl for rebellion.
saw seems really stable at the beginning of the film, so why did he go seemingly crazy and paranoid? it’s probably explained in the novelization but that’s no excuse to just have a character go crazy with really no explanation or backstory.
that being said, a lot of the character development is pretty lacking. i don’t think i’d care about these characters nearly as much if i wasn’t already a star wars fan.
video game cut scene style general tarkin
bor gullet is supposed to make you lose your mind but bohdi was pretty much fine after like,,, a day
how does the death star,,,, move?? like i know it can but has that ever been explained? is it like little thrusters? like the ones you can see in real life to stabilize things in space? there’s nothing i can visually see. i’m not mad about it i just wanna know.
why does saw insist on staying behind? why doesn’t he come and help?? it would have been so easy to just leave but he insists on staying behind and just watching as death inches closer. i think it doesn’t make sense because we know *so little* about his character. give me more on him, make me understand.
since james earl jones is getting older, vader sounds older. was there??? nothing the audio or editing department could have done about that??? not super mad about this one just because darth vader is really cool and i’ll never really complain too much about darth vader screen time.
when the fuck did jyn become a motivational speaker??
my one gripe about pretty much every star wars movie is the sheer number of times people climb through huge shafts and jump around and shit and they’re always *fine*. no way they wouldn’t fall to their deaths in any normal situations.
can someone?? check the science of the hammerhead corvette?? because there’s no gravity or weight in space right?? theoretically all you gotta do is give that star destroyer a bump and it’s spinning out, right?? i know absolutely nothing about space physics but i gotta be right. maybe i’m wrong. i dunno. i’m dumb as rocks. hear that baby girl?? it’s the spare change rattling around in my skull. i got pennies where my brain is.
absolutely no fucking shot cassian survived a blaster hit AND that fall AND climbed out. my belief simply cannot be suspended that much.
DUDE I FORGOT THAT THE DEATH STAR CAN TRAVEL THROUGH HYPERSPACE HOW DOES WORK SOMEONE TELL ME!!!!!
why doesn’t vader just,,, force grab the plans. i know he sees them. why not just force stop the guy running away with them??
final note now that the movie is over. yes, it’s got a lot of issues. the plot is ehhh at times. the trailers don’t match up with the movie shots AT ALL (i wanna know what happened behind the scenes with that). the character development is lacking in many major ways (that has not stopped me from loving these characters though, but that’s the autism talking). but like i’ll say in the "stuff i liked" section, this is such a damn cool movie. i was once talking about it with an older friend of mine and he said seeing rogue one in theaters felt like watching the original trilogy in theaters back in the 70s and 80s and honestly that’s such a compliment. i love this movie, i really do.
just cool shit,,, you know the vibe
DEATH TROOPERS
krennic is probably one of my favorite imperial officers. for some reason he just really sells it for me, the evil and manipulation that borderlines in try hard. and (i mention it more later because you see it more in the "choke on your aspirations" scene) beyond that just the fact that he’s?? a guy. just a dude. at any given moment he could be described as just hanging out. but he’s trying so hard (for whatever reason, we don’t know his evil motivations) to be this big bad evil dude. and it’s just interesting to see someone *trying* to be imperial and *trying* to be evil, as opposed to a tarkin-type character who’s just naturally an asshole.
i love the rogue one main theme. don’t even talk to me. it’s so cool.
it’s cool to see more about the birth of the death star, seeing other people learn about it. sort of realizing the fear and terror that everyone must have been experiencing. especially after being a star wars fan for so long and being like, yeah it’s the death star it’s just a staple of this universe. it reminds me that "oh god this was a planet killer and this was the first time something like that had ever even been heard of".
there’s gorgeous visuals in this movie.
i like the "i’m wanted in 12 systems" guy cameo (did you know his name is cornelius? i googled it)
when the storm trooper asks for papers?? like fuck yeah show me what life is like under imperial rule. give me that shit.
chirrut is so badass i’ll never get over it
"i’m one with the force and the force is with me" i’m eating that shit UP! salivating over the meal in front of me. i really want more exploration of the guardians and jedi worship in general. like gimme that weird funky space religion.
seeing an at-st just walk around a town. i dunno i like that shit.
K2 saying sorry for hitting cassian. i’m so soft on this robot.
"clear of hostiles,,,, ONE HOSTILE"
jyn stepping in front of K2 to protect him after she (not ten minutes ago) made the comment “i’m just afraid they’ll miss you and hit me”. jyn,,, your soft side is showing,,,,
i like the cool machine blaster that baze has. it’s awesome seeing different blaster styles when originally the only variation we really saw was chewie’s cross bow style blaster.
i really wanna see more of baze and cirruit. i wanna know what happened that made baze stop believing. i wanna know how they met. i wanna see them evolve and grow together.
i like that jyn argues that 16 is too young to be a solider (she’s 21 in the movie). i like that she’s mad that she’s young and has been put in a position to protect herself and then later save the galaxy. (for context: luke and leia were 19 in a new hope. anakin is 19 in attack of the clones, ~22 when he became darth vader, and rey is 19 in force awakens. stop putting the fate of the galaxy in the hands of people who are *barely* adults)
the testing of the death star is awesome. love seeing wicked cool space weapons. when it blocks out the sun? ominous as hell fuck yeah.
it’s interesting that baze says cassian doesn’t look like a killer, that "he has the face of a friend", when one of the first things we saw him do was kill a man. i think about that a lot. does that say more about baze’s ability to read people or does it say more about who cassian is deep down, beyond what he’s done to serve the rebellion?
cassian’s relationship with death and killing is very interesting. you could argue that cassian is just as brainwashed and deep in the rebellion as anyone imperial. i really hope it’s something that gets explored in his stand alone show. he mentions he’s lost everything and has been a rebel since he was 6. gimme cassian andor backstory.
"careful not to choke on your aspirations director" is probably some of the most dramatic-anakin-skywalker shit i’ve ever seen vader do
i like seeing rebel infighting. so often it seems there’s always general consensus about what the rebellion wants, but it’s good to see that they don’t always agree on how to rebel.
i love the consistent "found family" rebel alliance shit in these movies. it makes my dick so hard.
ARTOO AND THREEPIO CAMEO FUCK ME UP THOSE ARE MY BOYS
okay i totally get that the empire is evil, i really do, but rogue one (and lots of moments in the sequels) really reminds me how fucking cool some of their shit is. like death troopers? imperial droids like K2? the base on scarif? vader’s castle on mustafar and his bacta tank?? fuck me UP.
i loved hearing the troopers doing their dumb small talk about the T-15s on the beach.
i think ben mendelssohn is perfect for the role of krennic, no notes there. he’s just like?? a guy and he’s doing everything he can to fit into this evil role and he just wants to be like this big bad imperial boy on campus. i don’t know. i don’t have the words right now to express how fuckin awesome he is. i’ll write an essay about it later.
THE AT-AT COMING OUT OF THE MIST?? CHRIST ON A BIKE. LAY ME TO REST. LOVE IT.
fucking love me some female fighter pilots. the women of star wars are so badass. doing justice to my return of the jedi ladies.
i think a whole lot about jyn giving K2 a blaster. the way he takes it and looks at it and holds it so gently. i think that’s the first time a human has trusted him with a blaster since his reprogramming. he seems so appreciative of that trust.
i love seeing the faces of baze and the other rebels when a few of the x-wings show up and take down an at-at. i’m so very soft for the relationship between these rebels. not to be cliche, but the *hope* that they have. it’s so moving. this movie is just so full of that quintessential rebel feeling.
hey so i’m super emotional about the death of K2 okay? because in the novelizations you learn that in the last second k2 had before a full shut down, he ran a simulation where cassian lived and even though he knew it was impossible, it made him happy. FURTHERMORE K2 is very well known and his name is often listed along side jyn’s in terms of talking about the history of the rebellion.
chirrut and baze’s deaths are so important to me. we know they’re best friends, and even though we don’t know how long they’ve been together, they love each other so deeply. chirrut being the path for baze to return to the force? touching. i so wish these dumb force husbands could have had more screen time. baze calling chirrut back?? chirrut telling him to find him in the force?? baze looking to see the man he loves one more time before he dies??reminds me of the silken quote about dying in your best friends arms because it’s all you know. anywho,,, if star wars canon has any mercy then these two lovers are force ghosts together rn. don’t care how you feel or whether you "ship" them or not. love comes in so many forms and they encompass all that love.
terribly sorry but i think about those two star destroyers colliding with the rogue one main theme playing over it every day. it’s,,,,, so,,,, ( ´`)
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again BEN MENDELSSOHN??? UH YEAH
krennic watching his weapon (his beautiful, successful weapon) power up and kill him,,, the poetic justice of it all,,,,
any time anyone says "may the force be with you" i dunno maybe it’s my religious trauma but i’m head over heels for that good shit
the star destroyer coming out of hyper space as the rebels are escaping and some of the ships hit the destroyer?? one of my favorite things in the new star wars movies is directors and writers saying "oh this can totally happen" and they DO IT
jyn mentioning earlier in the film that she isn’t used to people sticking around when shit hits the fan and then dying in the arms of cassian?? because he stayed?? and for the first time she has someone??
in that same vein: cassian also says earlier in the film that he lost everything too. his connection with jyn is also important to him, just as important as it is to jyn. they need each other. i can’t remember who on this hellsite said it, but someone mentioned that they hope the stand alone cassian stuff coming out doesn’t make him this swindling playboy who fucks around a bunch. i think having him as more of like?? a mandolorian type character would be really cool. like he’s a rebel assassin: make him one. make him independent and badass and cool and DONT give him a bunch of romantic or sexual interests because then that downplays the clear love he had developing for jyn. again LOVE COMES IN FORMS BEYOND BASIC SHIPS. and there’s a lot of love in star wars.
i’ve said it a million times but vader is so cool and over and over again this movie reminded me that he’s actually so scary. i saw star wars for the first time when i was 6 and i can’t remember my initial reaction to him, but i’ve definitely (like with the death star) been desensitized to the fact that if i was in star wars, darth vader would scare the shit out of me. he’s *scary* and that’s cool. i liked seeing vader effortlessly go fucking mad on these rebels. then you understand why they were so scared in that first scene of a new hope.
no i absolutely will not get over the vader scene. i won’t. his saber turning on. his force abilities. his effortless lightsaber work. the choral music over the scene with the hectic orchestra. don’t touch me i’m emotional.
i loved seeing leia. it touches me so deeply every time.
fuck i love this movie despite all its faults.
if you’ve made it this far, thank you!! i hope you enjoyed. please remember that this is totally a safe space for all star wars opinions and you can feel free to disagree with me! i’d love to hear what some of you thought :))

Ferocious I Darth Maul x Reader
Chapter 6: The Interrogation
last chapter
all chapters
ao3
words: ~1800
_____
He hears the prisoner before he sees her. The woman who was so inconspicuous in the throne room is now cursing him, the troopers, and the entire Republic out at the top of her longs, her voice echoing through the corridor. At least he highly suspects it is her voice; it is undistorted and clear, much lighter than the voice he remembers.
“... And your brothers and every single person who has taken part in this, no mercy, no survivors, and if you think you can-”
The angry ranting stops at once when Obi-Wan steps into the woman’s view.
For a moment, his breath is taken away. This face… It is like he is back on Naboo, carrying the lifeless body of Master Qui-Gon. The memory hits him hard and unexpectedly, causing him to falter in his step for the fraction of a second before he regains his composure.
“You,” the woman looks daggers at him through the force field that separates her from the outside, suddenly not looking like the woman he remembers at all but much more like how one would expect Spectress to look like under that signature mask, except for much more… human. And vulnerable.
He does not like the swell of pity he senses rising in himself when he catches a glimpse of her bloodshot eyes and the bruising on her cheek - after all, she stood by and watched as Satine was killed, slaughtered by Maul, and even appealed for his own execution.
But Revenge is not the Jedi Way… And neither is resentment, no matter the deed.
“General,” The guards salute him. “We have confiscated her belongings and searched them for any tracking devices.”
“And you are certain that she is unarmed?”
“We’ve run several scans, sir.”
“Good.”
He assesses the situation briefly, taking in her hands that are cuffed to the table.
“Open the cell, I wish to speak to her.”
She has stopped speaking, only glowering at him when he enters the claustrophobic space.
“You got a lot of nerve-”
“Please,” he interrupts, sitting down. “Do not make this any harder than it needs to be.”
“I am- It was you who kidnapped me!” Her features are contorted in rage and with it, her light accent shines through otherwise flawless Basic.
“Kidnapped?” Obi-Wan questions. “You have multiple open arrest warrants and were complicit in the violent takeover of Mandalorian rule-”
“That took place in a neutral system and is thus not under Republic jurisdiction if I have to remind you. Besides, it was Pre Vizsla who pushed your duchess off her throne,” Her voice takes on another, more malicious undertone while she widens her eyes mockingly sweet, “Obi.”
The old nickname stings more than he would like to admit, especially coming from someone who was there when it happened, but he forces himself to remain objective... and fair.
“We have a few questions for you. If you cooperate and answer them truthfully, we will be able to lower your sentence considerably.”
Considering she is responsible for the assassinations of multiple senators, her prison sentence is still going to be at least two digits, but there could be worse things. Aside from that, Obi-Wan has seen how quickly one could escape from prison. Somebody like Spectress, who is already known for being one of the... craftier faces of the underground could probably-
“Lower my sentence?” She sounds almost offended. “After you unlawfully took me from my planet? I don’t think so.”
His heart sinks when it becomes painfully obvious that she will do anything but cooperate, even though he expected that going into it.
The prisoner leans forward on her elbows, a dangerous glint in her eyes. “You will regret this, Kenobi:”
“Look, as much as you may dislike this, we have the upper hand here. We can start simple. Your name?”
“None of your concern.”
“Since you have committed crimes against the Republic, it is, actually.”
She rolls her eyes shifting away from him again, unresponsive.
“Perhaps something else, then. What do you know of the creation of the clone army?”
“The clones?” The mercenary furrows her brows. “What would I know of them? And why would you care, isn’t it you they work for?”
He chooses to ignore her last question, instead pushing further.
“We know you were acquainted with Jango Fett, and that you’ve been to the facilities on Kamino.”
She only quirks an eyebrow, in turn ignoring him.
“Pardon my choice of words, the clones don’t work for you, I forgot. They don’t get paid, do they?”
“What was your relationship with Fett?”
“Again, none of your concern. Hey, you!” The woman looks over his shoulder at one of the two guards standing by the cell. “Do you get paid for this? And did you choose to risk your life for people who don’t even care about you?”
Obi-Wan glances at the trooper, Flamer if he recalls correctly, who remains unmoving, though his back straightens almost unnoticeably.
“Again, it is my concern. Were you related?” She scoffs in response. “Were you a client? Partners? Lovers?”
The last word makes her grimace in distaste.
“We were friends, Kenobi, a concept I’m sure must be quite foreign to the likes of you.”
“Friends?” He raises an eyebrow. At last, something to go off of. “Do you know who hired Fett as a genetic donor?”
Her eye twitches.
“I find it quite presumptuous of you to be asking me all these things… After all, it was one of your Jedi knights who decapitated him. Perhaps if you had been more considerate then, you’d now be able to ask him yourself.”
For a moment, heavy silence hangs in the room like a cloud of smoke. “But you can’t,” she concludes. “Because you murdered him.”
Oh, her tone is so bitter, Obi-Wan knows his death struck her hard, even though it had been years back.
“I do not believe he was solely a friend of yours,” He comments. “I think he was more than that, or you would not be so caught up on his passing.”
“His violent murder? You are correct, it was quite memorable, not only to me but also to his son,” she spits. “I believe you’ve met him, haven’t you? How does it feel knowing one of you slaughtered his father before his own two eyes? How can the Jedi be so morally condescending after all the families they have ripped apart?”
“Your family amongst them?”
“Numerous families, Kenobi. And yes, most recently, you have torn me from whatever I had on Mandalore.”
“Did you consider Jango Fett family?” He presses on further.
“Does it matter? Certainly not to you, right?”
“We are trying to get to the bottom of a case here,” he explains calmly. “And any information you have may prove to be useful.”
“Why would I help you?” She snorts. “To get one life sentence instead of two? A cell with a window? An autograph from the famed Jedi general himself?”
Obi-Wan has a strong urge to bury his face in his hands in frustration. Instead, he puts on the kindest smile he can muster at this moment.
“Because I believe that you, contrary to popular opinion, do have morals. We are looking into something that goes deeper than a simple feud you have with our order, even deeper than the hatred Maul harbors for it… and me.” He closes his eyes for a second to reflect.
“I am asking you, in all seriousness, if you can give us anything that could possibly point us in the right direction.”
The woman looks at him differently now. The constant scowl is gone from her features, replaced by a slight frown.
“You speak of the Sith.”
“What do you know of them?”
She glares at him. “More than you.”
“Then I take it you know who the master is?”
Something flashes across her face, brief enough to miss it if he blinked. Silence ensues as she seems to ponder, intense eyes focused on something invisible in the air
He holds his breath, feeling the revelation so close.
“I…” she finally begins hesitantly, “He is-” She gulps and goosebumps rise on Obi-Wan’s spine when he sees her fingertips tremble against the metal table, wondering who could have the ability to instill this much fear in a person.
Her mouth opens to continue, but no words come out. She blinks in confusion, trying again and looking down to the side when the words refuse to leave her mouth.
“He is… he controls…” The words come out in a strained voice, but before she reveals concrete information, she starts choking as if something is closing around her windpipe.
True, sincere panic fills her eyes when her hands struggle against their restraints as she attempts to claw at the invisible force around her throat. Intuitively, Obi-Wan reaches out, despite there being no physical enemy. His hand drops when she flinches away from him, too, but in that moment the invisible attack ceases and she gasps for air, slumping forward, facing the sterile floor.
Neither party speaks for a minute.
“I can’t help you,” the woman eventually states, voice hoarse. “Just know you face an evil of a scale that you can’t… comprehend yet.”
The atmosphere has gone through such a complete change that Obi-Wan feels it is unwise to continue the interrogation much longer.
“Thank you for your cooperation.”
“I am not cooperating,” she hisses, right back to being the renowned mercenary. “I just know we have a common enemy. Which does not” Her glare tells him she knows he was about to make a hopeful comment about working together, “make us allies. I still despise you and everything you stand for.”
“Well, it was lovely talking to you. We will resume tomorrow.” He pushes the metal chair back, moving to stand up.
“Wait.”
The urgency in her voice makes him freeze for a moment.
“Something else you would like to tell me?”
“Give it back.”
“Give what back?”
“My stuff, Kenobi. You have taken several of my possessions, some of which were,” she curls her lip, “of value to me.” “What exactly are you talking about? Perhaps if you show more willingness to work with us in the future, something could be arranged.”
“For one, I want my anonymity back, but you destroyed that option when you took away my mask while I was unconscious.”
The last words are delivered with force, her gaze downright deadly.
“But that’s not all. You took something else, something of… sentimental value.”
She glances at her hands.
“When I was kidnapped by your rebel friends, I was wearing a ring on my right hand and somebody took it. All I want is to have it back, is that too much to ask for?”
A ring? He didn’t expect a request so… mundane.
He gives her one last look before turning and leaving the cell.
“We will talk tomorrow.”
“Can’t wait.”

Chapter #34: Bad (Blood) Batch
Crosshair got to meet Bo-Katan and now it's Korkie's turn to meet the Bad Batch. Also, IDK on how to strikethrough a title text. Sorry.
---------------
The next planet looked dense and populated. It wasn't dense like Corusant, but it was populated enough that they know there were bounties abound. The wait time for a hangar wasn't as bad as the last one. It gave enough time for Korkie to work his Force visions and they had an adequate hangar to stay at.
When Korkie got up from the visions, Crosshair and Fennec were checking their weapons. Crosshair saw the rifle might need a new scope and knew they do not have another scope around.
"There's a huge bounty here," Korkie said as they kept checking. "It's locally known and the prizes they say are big."
"How big are we talking?" Fennec asked. She checked enough that her rifle was ready to end a small battalion.
"Big enough to buy an entire army."
"We don't need an army," Crosshair said. "But I would like a few upgrades."
"We should have taken some of the rifles from the basement," Korkie lamented.
"No. I'm not making your former aunt go insane and try to annihilate us because we took some of your ancestors' weapons."
"Well, they were still his," Fennec pointed out. "I mean, he had the rights to take them before Bo-Katan kicked him out."
Crosshair rolled his eyes as he went to open the ship's entrance. He would have liked some of the blasters Korkie showed him during their practice, but he felt the eyes of a thousand Kryzes judging him for possibly firing their blasters wrong. He looked at the picture of Korkie's late grandfather during the practice and thought Adonai Kryze's spirit was shaking his head thinking that his only grandchild would marry what might be an adequate sniper on his deceased mind.
Korkie went to his side and walked out the hangar with him. Fennec was still behind them. She was starting to prefer being behind of her two teachers because in her point of view, they always start the best drama and she had backstage passes for life. Korkie was pointing out the best cantinas and bar to find other bounties if there were too many bounty hunters going after the same bounty. Crosshair was not budging on bailing about the best prize.
"Then that one," Korkie said.
He pointed at the most rundown cantina they had ever seen. And they've been on Tatooine. The cantina at Mos Eisley was still presentable compared to this. There were no windows, the doors were broken, and there were a ton of drunkards hovering.
Crosshair said nothing as they entered the cantina. Suddenly, it was all eyes on them. Fennec smirked at the sight because they were dressed like everyone else. Well, Korkie had brought his family sword, but it was not enough to set off a bar fight. Maybe it was Crosshair? He was wearing his armor to cantina, but he did add Kryze blue to it when Korkie was asleep to look more like a Mandalorian and not a clone trooper.
Korkie was the one who found the manager of the cantina. He asked about the bounty and got a shrug. Korkie backed off and Crosshair got to the manager's neck. The poor manager was scared to see Korkie whisper something in Crosshair's ear.
"Okay!" he screamed.
He took out a fob and threw it to them. Korkie caught it and \waved it to Fennec who laughed at the antics. She knew they weren't really saying anything threatening to the manager. She was beginning to pick up some Mando'a and she knew Korkie was actually talking about making a good dinner for them.
Crosshair dropped the manager as his fiancee and apprentice walked away with the fob. The rest of the cantina got out of their way. They saw the 360 Korkie did and were not wanting to fight someone who might just smile at their deaths.
"So," Korkie said as they walked around the city. "What do we want for dinner?
"Korkie," Fennec sighed. "Please stop being a mother porg. You make the best dinners."
"No," Crosshair countered. "Please act like a mother porg. You need practice when we might have Sarad."
Korkie scoffed. Ever since the two talked about having a daughter, Crosshair agreed that Sarad was a beautiful name for a young girl. He also wanted their future daughter to be a sniper like him because it might be safer for her to not be connected with the Force. Korkie was sadden by his opinion, but he did agree. Even if Sarad wasn't a Force Seer like Korkie, the Empire was never going to let another Force user live. He rather have a normal child than put one in danger because of who they were to the Force.
"Please stop talking about your future child," Fennec said. "You're not even married yet!"
"Well, Fennec," Korkie said. "It's better to talk about a family now because then we don't have to worry about whether or not your having a niece."
Fennec gave up. She was young herself, but why do Mandalorian have to talk about marriage and family when they're so young? Was it because of the constant state of fighting for their lives, or was it because they're open about having a huge family.
The three were walking about when they stall another set of food stall. Fennec's stomach betrayed her and growled. Korkie and Crosshair looked at her like they were becoming her new set of parents.
"I may be a bit hungry," Fennec admitted. "But we should have food at the ship."
"It's an hour away," Korkie said. "Come on Fennec. Let's have some snacks."
Korkie led Fennec over to the stalls. Fennec was not a picky person, but the options were so numerous and she didn't want to buy too much food. Yet, they smelt so good. Korkie told her they had enough money to provide her a small feast. So Fennec started picking all the ones that smelled divine.
Crosshair smiled as they picked snacks by the smell. It reminded him how Hunter always knew what they should get from the stalls during their missions. Wrecker was never picky himself, but he also didn't want to break the budget. Tech was always to busy reading up on the snacks. So it was between Hunter and Crosshair to give them the cheapest and best snacks. When Echo entered the Bad Batch, it became a three person duty to provide the snacks.
Crosshair was beginning to beg whatever god or deity that controlled life that he'd be with his brothers once again. He knew he ran away from them because he was mad at Hunter, but Crosshair wasn't fair to the rest of his brothers. He was always Tech's older vod even if he never said it out loud. Wrecker and him did butt heads, but they always had each other's backs. Even Echo grew on him. Which was a surprise because he thought he'd always hate regs, but there were some who actually made him feel normal.
Crosshair walked to them, but stopped. He looked beyond Fennec and Korkie's eye spots and saw Echo. Crosshair wanted to punch a deity now because it felt way to coincidental to just see one of the Bad Batch here when he wished for it. The Echo lookalike looked at his direction and gasped. Then he left.
Crosshair ran after him and left Korkie and Fennec bewildered by the action. Korkie had the fob and he was sure they weren't near a target. Fennec grabbed Korkie and the two ran after Crosshair.
"Echo!" Crosshair cried.
Yet, no one looked up. The place was too busy, and with too many people. Korkie got to his side and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"What was that?" Korkie gasped.
"I thought I saw Echo," Crosshair said.
"Well, if they're here, then we'll find them."
"If they're here, then we could look at the hangars near by."
"You know there's a ton go hangar here, right?" Fennec asked.
"I'm not running again from them. I need to apologize."
Fennec looked at Korkie and smiled to the former duke's confusion. He was a good influence to Crosshair because to Fennec, he got to know the huge difference between their families. Korkie was born to a family who hated Jedis and want nothing with members who would be Jedis. Crosshair had his brother who never cared about his defects and saw him as their brother.
And Crosshair wants his brothers back.
"Then, let's walk," Korkie said.
They left the place and walked to the nearest hangar. It didn't take long for them to see a hangar station. Suddenly, a bunch of people got in front of them. The leader was laughing at the three.
"I heard you have the last fob," the leader said.
"We do," Crosshair answered. "But you're not taking it."
"I will."
"And why?" Fennec asked. "I've known a ton of mercenaries, but you're not even important for me to remember."
The leader lost it and attacked them. Korkie took out his sword as Fennec and Crosshair opened fire at the gang. There must have been almost thirty people. Many of them didn't look like they belong to just one group, they were just attacking Korkie, Crosshair and Fennec for the fob. They must have come late because they didn't see them at the rundown cantina.
Korkie was slashing down and slitting throats left and right to protect the fob. Fennec shot down any that came behind Korkie as Crosshair aimed at the leader who was fleeing the scene. They were backed to a corner and the gang was still coming at them.
Then, all kriffing hell broke lose. Wrecker jumped from above them and a vibro-knife from Hunter was launched at a face. Crosshair laughed at the sight of his brothers. He wasn't going insane, a deity really did listen to his wish. Tech and Echo were in front of the gang and launched a flash grenade went off. The Bad Batch, Korkie, and Fennec closed their eyes.
"Get them out of here, Crosshair," Hunter ordered. "We'll cover for you."
"Sorry, but no," Crosshair said. "Korkie's clingy."
"And what about Fennec?" Wrecker asked.
"I have a rifle if you forgot," Fennec said.
Hunter groaned as they attacked the gang. By the time the last man ran away they were done. Hunter looked at Crosshair and took out his hand.
"I know how much you hate hugging," Hunter said. "So this is my best 'I'm sorry for making you run away' shake."
Crosshair smiled and surprised Hunter. He did hug his older vod to the shock of the entire Bad Batch and his companions.
"And I apologize for being the worst brother you have," Crosshair said as he let go. "I know I had all the right to leave, but it still wasn't right to leave my other brothers."
"Who are you?" Wrecker asked. "Where's the real Crosshair?"
"I can scan!" Tech said.
"Please don't scan and I have a reason for changing," Crosshair said.
He presented Fennec and Korkie.
"Duke Korkie?" Echo said.
"You know me?" Korkie asked.
"Well, I used to work with Commander Cody. He met Duchess Satine before. I'm sorry for your lost."
"It's fine. Also, I'm not a duke anymore."
The Bad Batch looked at Crosshair who smirked.
"Any chance you have some food?" Crosshair asked. "Korkie can cook. Real good."
"No?" Hunter said. "You know what we always had to eat."
"Then dinner's on me."
The Bad Batch didn't understand what was going on, but they followed the trio. Then they got the memo once Crosshair took Korkie's hand when they got to the hangar.
"Um, Fennec," Tech whispered. "I know we're not close, but are those two?"
"Yes," Fennec answered.
Wrecker dropped his mouth as Crosshair opened the door and let Korkie kiss him on the cheek. The former duke went to work as the Bad Batch waited outside with Fennec bringing in seats. Well, Korkie's storage boxes, but it's what they had.
"When?" Wrecker asked. "And how?"
"Did you ever heard about a Mandalorian bounty?" Crosshair asked.
"No," Echo said. "You did not."
"Oh I did."
"You fell for a bounty?" Hunter screamed.
"And royalty at best?" Tech asked.
"He was very persuasive," Crosshair laughed. "He became the best thing in my life after everything that happened between us."
"So why is he not royalty anymore?" Echo asked. "I mean, Duchess Satine may have died, but Korkie is her heir."
"Well, he got kicked out of House Kryze."
"HOW?" They all screamed.
"Well I'm marrying him," Korkie replied.
He had dinner ready. A huge pot of soup and some meat. He placed them in the center of the Bad Batch and Fennec gave them a dish plate.
"You've got to kidding us," Wrecker said. "HIM? CROSSHAIR?"
"Yes, brother-in-law," Korkie smiled. "Though, it's more like he's marrying me. My side of the family is drama upon drama."
"And ours is not?" Hunter asked.
"Well, you've only worked with the Jedi. I'm the secret son of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Duchess Satine Kryze."
Korkie has never been asked so many questions in rapid fire response before. But, he's not mad. They were his future-in-laws.

Storm of the Republic
Chapter 8
AO3 Link | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
——————————————————————————————
Summary:  When Tup murdered General Tiplar during a battle, Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex dispatched Ahsoka, Fives, and Yara to solve the mystery that was plaguing the Clone Army. Meanwhile, Senator Padme Amidala contacted Commander Fox, Commander Tori, Riyo Chuchi, and Dipper to help her continue investigating the death of Palpatine, suspecting that Dooku was behind the evil plot. But when Dooku send an ISB agent to stop them, the team had to race against time to search for the truth, which could alter the course of the galaxy.
————————————————————————————
Clad in a strawberry pink dress, Tori tightened her brown combat boots as she tied her white ribbon above her curly locks. With permission from Riyo, she applied a darker pink blush to her cheeks and glossy lipsticks, highlighting her beauty.
Throughout her entire career as a clone commander, she never got to dress up nicely, and this mission allowed her to feel what it was like wearing civilian clothes. The strawberry dress originally belonged to Riyo, but thanks to her sewing skills, it fit perfectly well for her height.
She twirled in front of her mirror and played with her hair, smiling at her outfit. I am keeping this outfit after this mission.
“Mama, you look pretty,” Frieda praised her, sitting on the dresser. Tori could only smile as she grabbed a hair ribbon and tied her hair into a small ponytail.
“You’re a pretty girl too,” she complimented her, as she dusted off her matching dress. “Do you want a kiss on the cheeks?”
The little girl shook her head. “No, thank you, mama.”
“Alright then,” Tori respected her boundaries, as she put on a white shoe for her child. “Now come on, Uncle Fox, Uncle Dipper, and Aunt Riyo are waiting for us.”
“Yes, mama,” she said, as Tori walked out of Riyo’s quarters and headed towards another ship, where she found the others in the cockpit, with Commander Fox in the pilot’s seat, dressed in a tuxedo.
“Took you long enough,” he scolded her. “We’ve been waiting for you for almost 20 minutes.”
“Oh, yeah?” Tori rolled her eyes, holding her child in her lap. “Well, try dressing up for two. You know it’s difficult being a mother these days, especially when you’re fighting in the frontline.”
“That’s not an excuse. Every minute we waste, Senator Amidala is closer to danger. Now come on, we should leave right now.”
“Sir, yes, sir,” Dipper said, his eyes glued to his datapad. “By the way, where’s Riyo? It’s been a while since we’ve waited for her.”
“I’m here,” Riyo walked into the cockpit, dressed in her salmon pink beret and blouse. “Sorry I’m late. I had to deal with my period.”
“No worries, dear,” Fox’s lips curled upwards, passing her a heating pad. “Period can be painful and exhausting for women. I hope you pack your menstrual cup though.”
Tori squinted her eyes at her brother with exasperation. A few minutes ago, she was chastised for being late. But when his partner was late, he showed his concern to her. What a sly fox.
“So, shall we get going?”
“Of course, senator,” the Marshal Commander winked, as the ship took off from the Raxus base, heading into space. Frieda felt her ears pop when she was above ground, but then cooed when she saw the enormous amounts of stars surrounding her.
Even though she had followed Tori into battles many times, the little girl never got bored with the colourful galaxy she saw with her eyes. Everything fascinated her, even when it was the same object. “Mama, stars,” she pointed with her fingers.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Tori responded positively, holding her hands. “How many stars can you count right now?”
As the child counted, Fox placed his hands on the gear and was about to jump into hyperspace, but observing Frieda’s curiosity made him delay his actions. He was once like her as well, except he counted raindrops instead of stars.
It was always raining on Kamino, so he never had the same privilege to enjoy the wonders in the sky. But it was fun though. Fox enjoyed watching the raindrops on the window racing against each other, wondering which one would win. Come on, Lenny, you can do it. You can win this race this time.
He wished he could experience something like that again, where everything was simple and less terrifying. “So, how many stars did you count, Frieda?”
“There are 150 stars in the galaxy,” she answered, much to his amazement.
“150 stars? That’s a lot of stars you counted, kiddo.”
“150 is a big number,” Riyo chimed in. “I only reached that amount when I was 8 years old. You’re such a clever girl.”
“What can I say?” Tori shrugged, proud of her daughter’s accomplishments. “Frieda is a smart kid.”
Pulling the gears, their ship jumped into hyperspace, prompting him to turn around and face his crew members. “Alright team, we’re on our way to Coruscant and I’m only going to explain this plan once, so pay close attention.”
Dipper bobbed his head as he put away his datapad, his gaze focused towards his superiors.
“So, when we arrive at Coruscant, we will stand by for inspection by the patrols, along with our chain codes. So make sure we all relax and act naturally, like what normal people do.”
“That’s not so hard for me,” Riyo stated. “I can act as natural as possible.”
“I know you can do it, Riyo, but I’m not sure about those two,” Fox gestured to Tori and Dipper on their outfits. “I mean, you both stick out like a sore thumb.”
“Choerry said that ripped jeans and neon green hair are a trend,” Dipper defended his style choice. “Plus, I look handsome as hell.”
“I like your hair,” Riyo praised him. “I thought you looked like a rockstar.”
“See, she agrees with me. You’re just jealous that you can’t pull off this style.”
Fox shook his head. “We’re going on a stealth mission to help Senator Amidala, and you both look like you’re going to a Moachella instead.”
“That’s the whole point, Foxy,” Tori raised her eyebrows. “We’re dressed like average citizens of Coruscant. But you look overdressed. I mean, who wears a tuxedo on a normal day?”
“First, it’s Fox,” he corrected her. “And second, every secret agent in movies wears a tuxedo, and it makes me look smart too.”
“But you’ll get caught easily,” Dipper gave him a reminder, which irritated him. “I mean, isn’t a tuxedo inconvenient, especially since you’re running and all?”
As much as Fox hates to admit, the ARC Trooper made a good point. But it was too late for him to change clothes, as he’s already in hyperspace. Besides, Riyo was the one who suggested that he wear a tux. She told him it highlights his good looks.
“Whatever, do you remember to bring our chain codes, Dipper?”
“Yes, sir,” he said, as he took out five chain codes from his backpack and passed it around to the others. “These are from General Brinks. She was the one who taught me how to make a fake one.”
“These chain codes looked genuine,” he praised his efforts. “The Empire will easily be fooled. Well done, vod.”
As Tori received two chain codes for her and Frieda, she read the names on the card. Rina and Lara Young, well, that’s a pleasant way to remember Lira and Eva Bella Young. They would have loved to go on a stealth mission as well.
“So what are these for again?” she scratched the side of her head.
Fox turned to her with a scorned look on his face. He couldn’t believe that Tori wasn’t listening. “In case you forgot, the Imperial used these as IDs. Not having one is illegal and could face two years in prison.”
“That’s harsh,” Riyo gasped at what she heard. “But it’s also an efficient way to keep track of their citizens.”
“And outlaws too,” Dipper growled, remembering the plot to one of his favourite novels, where Big Brother was watching everyone’s moves, even if they’re innocent.
“Anyway, so what happens once the Imperials allow us to enter the planet?” Tori asked another question.
“Once we got in, we parked our ship at Level 1312,” Fox continued, explaining his plans. “From there, we’ll have to take a taxi to Senator Amidala’s place.”
“Wait, why can’t we land near her penthouse?” Riyo wondered, seeing that was rather difficult.
“That will make us more suspicious, and that’s the last thing we want.”
“Okay, so what do we do once we make it to the senator?” Dipper raised his hands.
“We’ll help her with the investigation of the Chancellor’s death, and then we get her out of here,” Fox finished his briefing. “Now, do we have questions about this mission?”
Tori, Dipper, and Riyo exchanged a glance of confidence within themselves, determined that their mission will be successful. Things will go just as planned, the Pantoran was sure of herself.
“No questions, Uncle,” Frieda spoke, shaking her head. Her response brightened the cockpit as Fox chuckled and ruffled her hair, when the panels were beeping rapidly, signalling to them they had arrived at Coruscant.

Fox/Reader
The reader caught a deadly disease and can’t seem to get better. Fox stays with them until the end.
(Reader doesn’t have a specific gender.)
The idea came from @/YourMindSpace on Wattpad. They also wrote the first few paragraphs and I only adjusted them to fit my style of writing. Credits goes out to them.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You had no concept of how long you were already lying in the medbay, when Kix came in once again. He pushed a hypo into the crook of your neck, slowly injecting whatever it was into your muscle.
„Let's hope it works this time,“ he squeezed your hands reassuringly, though the only answer he got was a ragged breath and a pained look. Your head hadn't stopped hurting ever since you fell in and up until now, nothing had helped. At least, you thought, it wasn't contagious.
„Sleep well,“ you tried to tighten your grip on his hand, unwilling to be left alone again, but your fingers didn't even react. Kix pulled his hand fully away, leaving you behind on the small bed, with your thoughts racing in your head. You sucked in a large breath, closing your eyes in an attempt to sleep through this hell.
It didn't take long for you to pass out. It never did. But that only made waking up more and more painful. Every day you hoped this had just been a big, stupid dream, but it never was. But at least you had more motoric abilities in the morning. Sometimes you were even able to fully sit up.
Today, you woke up with the feeling of someone holding your hand. You slowly turned your head over, expecting Kix. A smile formed on your chapped lips when you noticed the familiar pattern of Fox's armor instead of the 501st medic. He looked worried. Admittedly, you had also started to get worried, when Kix first told you that you had to be confined to the medbay. Then again, you were over than by now.
„Hey... I'm not dying,“ but your throat sure felt like it. At least you could talk. It hurt. More so than breathing.
„It won't be long until you do,“ you didn't bother laughing. It would only result in more pain. Instead, you lifted his hand up to press a kiss to the painted red gauntlet.
„I know,“ you were resigned to the fact. All too aware that nothing was really helping. The medicine only worked for a few moments after you woke up and the rest of the day you spent in a constant pain since Kix weren't allowed the resources to keep you on constant pain medication. It left you more or less conscious for all the poking and prodding the special team were doing. Not to find a cure.
No.
To study. It was that, that made you the most angry. Being helpless against their ministrations while Kix was slowly giving up on finding something that would truly help.
„I don't want to lose you,“ the admission was quiet. Something you hadn't expected him to say. He wasn't big on feelings. It had taken ages for him to admit that he was interested in you and then another eternity for him to say „I love you.“ You weren't angry about it. It was just who he was.
But still. His sudden honesty about his feelings surprised you.
„I don't want to die,“ you replied, tightening your grip on his hand. He returned the squeeze. It was a sweet, short lie, made to make him feel better. You would give everything to have the pain end. To get out of this hellish cycle of pain.
But you didn't want to leave him.
„I love you. More than you know,“ he rested his head against the hard mattress. Your eyes widened when you noticed the way his shoulders were shaking.
„I can't lose you too,“ it took more energy than you hand to turn around enough to envelope him in something that could be called a hug. A sad, half-hearted excuse for one, but you couldn't manage more. The position made it even harder to breath, but you couldn't bear pulling away when Fox wrapped his arms around your mid. It was the most contact you had with anyone for ages.
He didn't have much time to come, after all. With Palpatine in his neck and the whole Coruscant Guard to run, free time was rare. Even more so than for troopers like Kix or Jesse.
„I know. I'm sorry,“ your voice sounded strained and it only took a moment for him to surge back, worry apparent on his feature.
„I'm sorry, I shouldn't have...“ you rolled back onto your back, breathing in and out as calmly as you could, your eyes closed.
„It's fine,“ you replied. However much it hurt, you would take this over all the other days here any time.
But it couldn't last.
Fox left half an hour later, saying that he had to get back to work. He pressed a kiss onto your cheek, tracing your too-prominent cheekbones with his thumb, before leaving. You were alone once more. Awake and starting to hurt. Unable to distract yourself with anything despite counting the screws on the ceiling.
-
-
Your days didn't vary much. The only apparent difference was the way you kept getting thinner, no matter how much you ate. Your ribs were showing and after a while of keeping up your regular eating schedule, it was apparent that this was another side-effect of the disease.
You slept even more, sometimes through the entire day. There was nothing much for you to do and there was nothing anyone else would be able to do for you. The only moments of joy were when Fox came to visit and sat by your bed, simply holding your hand when you were sleeping or calmly telling you stories about his brothers stunts. They would have made you laugh, but it was hard enough to manage a smile.
Still, he kept coming. Sitting with you, talking with you, stroking the back of your hand.
It were the small things that kept you alive. Kept you sane enough to not just give up, but in the end, not even that was enough.
-
-
The disease took you early in the morning. Fox had come by and was quietly talking to you, when your heart stopped for the first time.
Kix and his team managed to reanimate you. You were barely coherent anymore when you woke up once more. Disoriented, with your head thrumming with a dull pain in the back of it. The growth in your lungs felt as if it was trying to break out, crawling up your trachea and keeping you from replying to either Kix or Fox when they desperately tried to get a reaction.
You hadn't expected it to hurt so much. When you thought about your death, you thought it would be quiet. Passing away in your sleep, but Fox was almost crushing your hand while Kix continued his checkup on you. Your eyes switched between the two of them, until they settled on Fox.
„I love you,“ you tried to say, „I don't want to die.“
The only thing that came out was a whimper as tears were streaming down your face.
It hurt. So much.
„Please,“ he begged. And whatever it was, you wanted to do it. You wanted to stay with him. Until it was all over, when you were old and forgot the names of most of your friends, but not his because he was there. Because he was with you. Because he...
Because he was holding onto your hand, begging for you to not die, while you were desperately clinging onto your last breath.
„The medicine doesn't work. There's nothing I can do,“ Fox let out a choked sob at Kix' words. You felt your throat constrict even more. Your were gasping, trying to get at least some air, but nothing seemed to work.
„Please, you can't... ...love you,“ you didn't hear everything Fox was saying. There was a ringing in your ears that wouldn't go away. It didn't hurt. Even though everything else hurt. It just cut off Fox's words. The last thing you were holding onto and it took that away.
It took that away and you...
You were gone.

You got a ship to nearer the old Jedi Temple, you parked it a bit far from it, but still near enough so you could get there walking. That region wasn’t as crowded as the one you previously were. You could feel the Force in that area, so strong there, you wondered how much stronger it was inside the Temple.
The ancient temple in Dantooine didn’t call you like this one did. That temple was so old and forgotten that maybe even the Force forgot about that place, even though you knew it was still holy. But this temple was different, maybe because it was there where the jedis died. Just like happened to your temple from the New Jedi Order. You also knew it was rebuild, it wasn’t the original one, although the presence was still there.
The five big towers on top of the construction were in front of you. In your mind, you pictured the sentinels in those towers, protecting the Order. In another moment, you could see the empire troopers protecting the place. Now, it was completely forgotten. Not even Snoke or Kylo Ren cared to check the place, it was useless, no Jedis were alive, no one knew how to open the holocroms, no one would understand or use the informations. The Dark Side sympathizers got all of their interest in there during the early Empire years.
You thought you had to fight or sneak out your way into the temple, but you didn’t have to, that was a forgotten place and you could tell that by entering the front door.
A big large hall was ahead of you, statues of Jedi heroes, masters. The place smelled death. The ruin of something once so powerful and now not even the ghosts were there to talk. Oh the battles in there, what those rebuild walls must’ve seen. What might have been the wind wending into holed hallways never before penetrated sounded like the funeral keening of spirits waiting to be avenged. What might have been the resonance of the footfalls of stormtroopers sounded like the beat of distant war drums. What might have been smoke from the fires that should have gone out years ago seemed more like wraiths writhing in torment.
You were walking further in the place, going upstairs, looking for something that maybe would be interesting.
You entered a large room, multiple seats were disposed in circle in the room, you found yourself in the middle of it, watching the viewport. There must’ve been the place where the masters discussed important things about the order and there you were right in the middle of that, a nobody who was just lucky enough to survive another Jedi massacrer. You exited the room and the crying of children echoed into your ears, the sound of lightsabers, now mixed with laughs. It reminded you of your own temple, the children laughing and training, the crying and death at the end.
The ruin of a fallen order was there and nobody to see it, no one cared enough even to remember it. A tear was about to fall from your eye but you cleaned it before it could roll over your cheek, you wouldn’t be crying over it, but you couldn’t stop thinking about what could’ve happened if the New Jedi Order wasn’t destroyed. Would you have died already during a mission? Would you have become a jedi already? Would you be a master someday? Would you have a padawan? All those questions about a life you never got the chance to have making you want to cry while you gave up on looking for something interesting. It was just not worth it.
Broken statues, ripped carpets, broken droids and training balls covered the whole place, just giving it a more abandoned look. You found your way back, you would have memory enough to show Kylo Ren if needed.
You felt a shiver down your spine, a weird feeling. The Force was calling you. You reached the lower floor and it was empty, but there was where the Force wanted you to be. Your heart was heavy, your hands sweaty and your stomach felt like having butterflies in, you didn’t have your saber with you, and you wanted it so badly at that moment. You got the blaster that was hang on your waist and pointed to the nowhere - you felt danger.
Suddenly the blaster was rip out of your hand and flew across the room until his hand covered with a leather glove. Kylo Ren was in front of you, holding the blaster that he just got out of your hand by using the Force. You actually was surprised, you didn’t really imagine he would show up or that he would know where you were. That was very naive of you, of course he would know where you were, he maybe knew everything you did, he probably knew about Poe, about you being an old padawan, a spy and everything else, but instead of panic or fear, in that moment you felt relief. You felt relief it was him right in front of you, and not really an enemy you’d have to fight with - he was an enemy, but you couldn’t really explain the peace that invaded you when you saw his face staring at you, even though he had a serious dangerous look on his eyes.
“Hi” you said, calmly and he remained silent. In your head it crossed a thousand of possibilities of what he would say to you next.
“Do you know which place is this?” He asked with a firm voice tone.
“Would here by any chance be a bar?” you jokily answered and by his face, you could tell he wasn’t in a mood for jokes.
“I know this is the main Jedi Temple.”
“It was the main Jedi Temple” he restated “and what are you doing here?”
“I was curious” that wasn’t a lie. You knew Kylo had thousands of thoughts in his head and you wished you could see them all – everything that you wanted was him to say something.
“Why?” he asked looking around
“I wanted to learn something about them. By myself.” By his eyes, you knew that he learned that you were more audacious than he thought, that you weren’t that naïve.
“They are dead. There is nothing to learn.”
“There is always something to learn” you gave him a small smile.
“You accepted to be my apprentice, why are you trying to learn by yourself?”
“Well, would you tell me everything about the jedis? What if I wanted to become one?” you still had a small smile on his face.
“The jedis are dead.” That ached a little bit of your heart, because you knew that for sure.
“You keep saying that, but what if I had found something here that could teach me or change my mind? You can’t be the only one to teach me things.”
“You are more ambitious than I thought.”
“Well maybe you underestimated me.” You said with a bit of proud.
“Old things must be left in the past. New things must rise. The jedis, the siths, they all were defeated, we must learn with their mistakes and be better.” He looked at you for the first time in a while.
“Why do you hate the jedis so much?”
“You know why. I showed it to you.” You blushed at this – so that was why you had that dream, Kylo Ren himself wanted you to see his memories, he wanted you to understand him.
“I understand why you hate Luke Skywalker, but why destroy all those lives?”
“There would always be the concern of someone turning to the Dark Side, what if they did? One must do whatever they please, why choose a path?”
“You mean like yourself? Obeying Luke, then Snoke, and now you are on your own.”
“I am the Supreme Leader. I have my own path.”
“Yes, I guess your method works, but at what cost? Do you even have feelings?” he remained silent, you stared at him, hoping he would say something back. “At those memories I had empathy for Ben Solo – that was your name, I guess – he felt the same as I did, but in such different circumstances. What now? All those feelings are gone?”
“Why did you want to come here… to betray me coming to the Jedi Temple?”
“Woah, hold it there. First, I didn’t betray you or whatever” you firmly stated “what? Looking for knowledge is some short of crime now? I am not going against you or anything.” You sighed “you are so paranoid, honestly. You think someone is going to betray you, to overthrow you, so you want everyone to be terrified by you, but actually you are trying to hide your weakness: your feelings. Yeah, you do have feelings, Kylo Ren.”
“Second” you started again “I came here because this place called me, I don’t know, I just felt it.” At a moment you admired yourself at how a good liar you were. “Do you want to punish me? Fine. Choke me again, throw me back to the prison, kill me or whatever, but I have done nothing wrong. And by doing any of that, you are losing an ally, an important one, because as far as I can tell… you don’t exactly know many Force-sensitive people.”
“You said you wanted people to choose their own path, I am trying to choose mine, but apparently you are doing the same as they used to do. I can be loyal to you, you just gotta let me be me. And teach me somethings, afterwards I know nothing.” Kylo had a blank expression, his eyes craving into yours, you kept staring him. You started to notice his face, his smooth lines that gave him a tough look, his nose, the scar, his dark eyes. His lips. You remembered Poe kissing you, it was your first kiss – know you knew how it was like to be kissed and you couldn’t avoid wondering how would be to kiss another lips. His lips.
“Fine” he declared at the end. Your mind wandered far away, from what the conversation was before, and your eyes from his lips immediately focused on something else.
“What?” you asked blinking, trying to bring your mind back to the moment.
“I trust you.” He said. You didn’t know it, but he wasn’t telling the truth, he wasn’t trusting you for real, yet.
“You mean… we’re friends?” you said confused, with some short of silly smirk on your lips.
“No. I mean you’re my apprentice and I trust you.” You smiled at him, believing in his words. You took a step closer.
“Give me your hand” you said, standing your hand for him. He oddly looked at it, wondering what you were pretending. “Let’s leave here together, if you trust me. Hold my hand.” You explained. His large hand touched your, you felt the leather of the glove he was wearing, it was cold but you could also feel the warmth of his hand covered by it, you squeezed his hand and looked at him, his eyes were different now, they weren’t that scary anymore.
“I have another question though” you stared at his eyes while holding his hand, the question had just popped into your mind as you recalled his memories – and yours. He remained in silence waiting for your question. “How was it like? In Luke’s Temple, I mean. You showed me your memories and I could feel how you felt but how it was for you so you could feel like that?” ‘Because for me it was like home’ you finished the question in your mind.
His hand left yours and he took a step back, you weren’t sure if he was going to answer you.
“You know what? Nevermind, don’t answer it. Let’s go” you said again starting to walk towards the exit.
“I liked it at first” he started and you looked at him like a child would look at their parent telling a fascinating story about their own past. “But all they did was look at themselves and think that they were the only ones able to control the Force.”
“Maybe they thought you didn’t want to be with them” you said also remembering your days.
“And I didn’t. My parents just didn’t want to have the trouble to deal their Force-sensitive son and educate him, so they thought that throwing him in Skywalker’s hands would solve things. I didn’t want to be there.”
“You said you wanted at first.”
“It was all new and exciting. I liked the idea of having other people around that were like me, I was just a child afterwards. I was silly and naïve and I trusted Skywalker.”
“Didn’t you stop liking them because Snoke got in your head?”
“Snoke was right all along, he was just stating the truth.”
“I don’t remember my parents” you randomly said “I guess that maybe I am lucky. You can’t really miss something you never had, right? Or at least you don’t remember you had… What I mean is that you remember your parents and they weren’t the best for you at just sending you to Luke. But they weren’t that bad, were they?”
“Have you never wanted to meet your parents?” he didn’t answer your question.
“A few times yes. I had a friend who took care of me when I was lonely the most, she showed me a good path and made me feel right about the place I was.”
“Well and where is she now?” he mocked the way you were talking about her.
“She…” you took a deep breath “is dead.” And in your head the scene of Hylia being killed by the man in front of you was on repeat. You felt a tear in your eye and you turned around to hide your face from Kylo, you cleaned the single tear and cleared your throat looking back at him. “She died protecting me.”
“Is that why you were living all alone in Dantooine? Feeling the pain over her death?”
“Yeah, that too.” you could tell he was waiting for an explanation for your life in Dantooine – for a moment you wished you could tell him the truth. “I was hiding, I was afraid of who killed her to come after me. But I guess I was stupid all this time, they never remembered who I was. And why would they? I am a nobody.”
“You were a nobody.”
“What am I now?”
“You’re my apprentice now. And you are getting a position inside the First Order.”
“Oh, that’s new, can I get a paycheck too?” you jokily smiled.
“Is protection enough?”
“I guess.”
“You don’t have to hide anymore, (Y/N).”
“Neither do you.” You stared at his eyes.
“I don’t hide.” He firmly answered you
“Don’t you?” because you knew he was hiding his feelings. **

The Accidental Crush of Sansa Stark and the recurring annoyance that followed- Chapter 2 pt.1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Sansa? If you could date any boy counselors here, who would you date?" Shireen, an adorable little camper asked as she walked all of them to canoeing. Sansa paused. Was her developing attraction that obvious? One of the golden staff rules was that there were to be no summer romances or if there was one, to be discreet to the point leadership didn't have any suspicions.
"She'd date Harry of course! Have you seen the way he looks at her?!" Beth giggled. "They would be like Ariel and...Philip!"
"Philip is Aurora's prince, Beth. Ariel's prince is Eric remember?" Alys shook her head at Beth. "I think Sansa would be happiest with Sam!"
"Sam likes Gilly, he blushes every time he's around her," Osha spoke up and the girls around her nodded in agreement.
"Sansa should go out with Dickon, he's so handsome!" Minisa sighed dreamily while Lyanna rolled her eyes.
"Can't you all see Sansa likes...." Lyanna began before Sansa interrupted her. "Girls, I appreciate you all comparing me to a Disney princess and wishing for my happiness. But I assure you, I don't feel that way toward anyone here."
Most of the girls seemed convinced by her little white lie and forgot about their question within seconds. All except for Lyanna. Lyanna stood behind while the other girls went down to the canoeing river. She tilted her head at Sansa in curiosity and Sansa took a deep breath.
"What is it Lyanna?"
"I saw you look at Jon at the pool yesterday."
"Lyanna, I had sunglasses on. I was looking at everyone in the pool." Sansa scoffed, hoping the defiant little camper would drop it. But Lyanna raised her chin with a sly smile on her face.
"Maybe that's true. But I saw you look at him a couple of times today at breakfast and you didn't have sunglasses then. You get a big smile on your face when he's around like the Disney princesses do."
Perhaps I should tone it down a bit.
Sansa took a moment to collect herself and sighed. "Lyanna, Jon is my coworker and friend. I smile when I see all my coworkers..."
"It's different with Jon. That's the way my mom looked at my dad before he died." Lyanna sadly smiled and quickly ran off to join her fellow campers, while Sansa stood in silence.
——————————-
"Girls, can I ask you something?" Sansa asked as she turned up the volume to skype her friends during break time. Margaery was in the process of making an anniversary gift for Theon, Dany was painting her nails so they could be ready for her date night with Daario, Missandei was painting a portrait for Grey, and Brienne was ordering a knife for Jaime's birthday.
"Sure, Sansa!" They all sang in unison.
"Am I being too obvious if one of my campers can tell who I am attracted to?" Sansa spoke quickly, hoping they missed it. But judging by how they were all looking at each other as if they were in the Brady Bunch credits, they did.
"OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Missandei shouted.
"I bet it's Harry! Margaery surmised.
"I think it's Dickon. Did you see the pics Sansa posted that tagged him in? They'd be absolutely perfect together!" Dany sighed happily.
"Well, are you going to tell us who it is?" Brienne rose an eyebrow.
"It's the guy I told you all about that pissed me off a few weeks ago. We've patched things up and he's really...cool." Sansa blushed and saw their collective smiles.
"You never told us Mr. Broody's name, what is it?" Margaery inquired.
"His name is Jon, Jon Snow," Sansa responded, and immediately Dany spat out her drink. "Jon Snow?! You like him?!"
"Yeah. Do you know him Dany?" Sansa asked, confused out of her mind.
"He's my nephew," Dany responded and Margaery's eyes widened. "Dany, how on earth do you have a nephew the same age as you?"
"Remember my older brother Rhaegar? Jon is his whoops kid after he had an affair while Elia was in a coma." Dany shrugged.
"Oh yeah! But you've never mentioned him before, why is that?" Missandei asked in curiosity.
"I didn't know he existed until he came to live with Rhaegar and Elia four years ago. He's hasn't been around much because he was either going to school or working at camp." Dany answered and Brienne leaned forward. "Dany, what were you going to add about Jon earlier when Sansa mentioned that she liked him?"
"He's a great guy...but Sansa, he has a girlfriend. Her name is Lysa Tully. He's been dating her for years. I am truly sorry, Sansa." Dany's face was full of sadness.
"Dany, don't be sorry! I'm glad you told me before I made a fool of myself. Now I can be more cognizant of my actions." Sansa put her hands in a heart shape and Dany laughed as she responded with heart hands back.
"But damn, I wish it were different. It would be so cool to have you as my sis...niece in law. Seven hells, that's so weird...."Dany began before all the girls cackled in unison.
Before long, Margaery narrowed her eyes. That typically meant she was vying for information. "Dany, give us the deets on Lysa."
"My brother and Elia think she's a character," Dany grimaced.
"That sounds like how my grandmother would describe Mr. Baelish and Mr.Varys," Margaery hummed.
"Rhaenys tolerates her and Aegon can't stand to be in the same room as her. My experience made me want to slap her, honestly."
"What happened?" Brienne inquired and Dany sighed. "She made Daario feel uncomfortable because he's not from "here," whatever "here" is supposed to mean."
"Oh. She's one of those types of people... ew does that mean Jon is as well???" Missandei rose an eyebrow.
"No, not by a long shot. Jon is super passionate about social issues and has always been involved in some way or another. He and Lysa got into an argument after she made Daario feel uncomfortable. She ended up apologizing, though I didn't think it was truly genuine. I think it was only to show Jon that she was "improving." Dany shrugged, while Brienne, Margaery, and Missandei collectively sighed. Sansa bit the inside of her cheek.
Of course, he has a girlfriend. He's good looking and has a kind soul. Who was I kidding? Well, maybe I can try to be his friend at least. Yes. That's what I'll do and my feelings will go away. They have before and they will now.
After making her decision, Sansa spoke up.
"Well ladies, enough about me and my sad crush life. Tell me about all your individual plans with your guys!!!!!!"
———————————-
"Sansa, you should go! I'm sure it'll be loads of fun!" Her co-counselor Mya exclaimed.
The leadership team decided last minute to have counselor late-night swim and Sansa internally debated if she really wanted to go.
If I am trying to friendzone my crush, shouldn't I try to limit the times I see him wet and shirtless?
"I'm really tired, Mya. I just want to take a hot shower, it's been a really long day."
It wasn't necessarily a bad excuse. It had been a long day. It hadn't even been five minutes after Sansa ended her skype call with her friends when she heard Dickon radio for her help. Two of the girls got into a fight during canoeing and poor Beth cried the entire time after she fell backward in the river. The next skill area didn't fare well either after Minisa got bit by a brown recluse and had to go to the hospital. Then later in the day, the porch swing broke off at the merchandise store and Lyanna sprained her ankle. Sansa had gotten well acquainted with nurse Thoros. Because she worked so well with the little ones, she typically made calls throughout the week but never this many in one week.
"That's true but Sansa, you've been such a trooper today. You deserve a break." Mya reasoned.
"You were there too, Mya. I wouldn't have survived today without you, honestly. In fact, why don't you go tonight and I'll go tomorrow?" Sansa responded.
"Are you sure, Sansa?"
"Absolutely."
"Aww thanks, Sansa." Mya smiled and hugged Sansa tight for a few seconds before going to her room in the cabin to get a bathing suit.
"Oh by the way Mya, I'd wear the blue one. Harry blushes a little when you wear it." Sansa looked at her nails while Mya's mouth slightly dropped.
"How did you know?! I thought I was hiding it well."
"You are! I'm the only one who can really tell because I'm a big sucker for enemies to lovers so I can tell by the little things."
"...Harry blushed a little when I wore it last?"
"Yeah and I'm pretty sure he was going to say something before one of his campers jumped in the pool with his stuffed kittens." Sansa and Mya began chuckling as they remembered the sweet little boy who wanted to prove cats weren't afraid of water.
"Well thank you for the heads up, Sansa." Mya began to leave before leaning back in the doorway. "Should I wear my braids up or down?"
"Do whatever makes you feel confident."
"I'm going to wear them down. Harry Hardyng, here I come." Mya sang as she left the cabin into the hall to go change.
"Sansa?" a soft whisper woke her up and she could see Mya's outline by the bed. Sansa rose up on her elbow and she could tell Mya wanted to talk out in the hall. She followed her out quietly and then sat against the wall.
"Mya, how was it?" Sansa rose an eyebrow and a deep blush appeared on Mya's brown skin.
"It was wonderful. We... we kissed under the water. It was magical." Mya sighed happily and Sansa's heart leaped with joy.
"Did anyone see you two?"
"Surprisingly and thankfully, no. Everyone was distracted by Sam and Gilly. He finally asked her out!"
"Sounds like a good night for everyone it seems." Sansa smiled and closed her eyes for just a moment before Mya spoke up.
"Do you like anyone Sansa?" Sansa opened her eyes to see Mya have an eyebrow raised.
"Erm... not really." Sansa lied and Mya scoffed as she began redoing her braids.
"Are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure I saw you staring at your former pool duty partner a bit the other day. Is that why you switched?"
"For one, for some reason, I thought Jon was going tonight before I remembered he and Harry are co's this week. Two, it doesn't matter how I feel."
"Why doesn't it matter, Sansa?"
"Because he has a girlfriend." Sansa's voice cracked a little and Mya's face filled with sorrow.
"I'm sorry I brought it up, Sansa."
"It's okay."
"What's your game plan?"
"My game plan? I want to become his friend and try to friendzone him."
"Friendzone your crush, hmm. I've never heard of that before. How are you going to do it?"
"Ask him about his girlfriend, what he likes, try to steer from anything super personal, keep a healthy distance, and....I'll talk about guys I find attractive."
"Besides Jon, who else would you want to go on a date with at camp?"
"Not really." Sansa shrugged.
"Any guys back home?"
"Um sort of I guess? If you count teammates/friends Robb brings home during breaks. His is name is Pyp. He's really cool and kind." Sansa smiled.
"Ooh tell me more!" Mya rested her face on her hands as the girls did during storytime before bed.
"He's majoring in Civil Engineering. He plays left wing on the hockey team at White Harbor, he's pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if he was drafted in the WHL. He's pretty funny and a movie buff."
"Why didn't you go on a date with him then?"
"I was scared after everything that went down with Waymar, that I was a little hesitant to date."
"What did happen with Waymar?" Mya questioned.
"I made a fool out myself for him. I wore different clothes, dyed my hair black, and I even started going by my middle name to seem "cooler" to him. I..." Sansa shuddered. "I gave him special favors in the hopes, he just so he'd finally see me. One day, he texted me to meet up with him at his house and I went over thinking that he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend. I got there and the door was wide open. I thought it was a bit strange and I went in, worried if Waymar was okay when I heard noises coming from his bedroom. I opened the door and caught him having sex with my former best friend Myranda. I closed the door and ran down the stairs. Waymar and Myranda came down right before I left. Waymar forgot he texted me and tried to apologize while Myranda just smirked at me. I asked her 'How could you?' and she said 'You're the biggest fool to ever think you had a shot with Waymar and I only became friends with you to get to him along with your money. Who would anyone ever want to date someone like you? You're a stupid and ugly little girl. Oh, you're crying now. How sad? No one's ever had the guts to tell you that? You're sasquatch with no curves or boobs."
Sansa looked down at the crown, while hot tears streamed down her face. Mya gathered her in her arms as Sansa sobbed.
"You know what Myranda said about you isn't true right? You're beautiful on the inside and out. Hell, I wish I was as tall and skinny as you." Mya whispered while Sansa shook her head.
"Mya, you're beautiful."
"So are you! Being tall sounds great, I don't like always having to crane my neck to look at Harry when we're bantering. The pool is probably one of the few kisses where he won't have to practically bend down to kiss me. Don't get me started on being curvy and having to find jeans that don't feel like they're not suffocating my thighs and butt while having a huge awkward gap in the back." Mya ranted. "Don't be hard on yourself, Sansa. You're amazing, you need to believe that. The girls love you, I love you, your other friends and family love you, and everyone at camp does. You need to love yourself."
"Thank you, Mya. You're right, I do need to work on loving myself." Sansa smiled.
"That's the spirit!" Mya high fived her and then they heard the door open from Mya's room to see Beth's face full of tears.
"What's wrong Beth? Did you have a nightmare?" Mya asked, her voice full of concern.
"No, I..." Beth's lip wobbled. "Miss Mya, I woke up and I realized I don't have any more underwear for the rest of the week."
"How many did you bring Beth?" Sansa asked as Beth sat down in between her and Mya.
"My brother packed me six."
Only six for Sunday through Friday? I'd pack at least twelve or fourteen... Wait! It's only Tuesday?!
"But it's only Tuesday Beth, how did you go through six?" Mya's eyes widened.
"I... I peed myself a bit on Sunday when I was waiting for the bathroom after I took my shower, so I had to change. Monday, I got my unicorn undies wet from the shower after I dropped them. I asked Lyanna to get some out of my bag. Today, after I fell in the water I got scared I was going to get leeches so I changed into my last pair. I just keep getting bad luck!" Beth started to tear up and an idea popped up in Sansa's mind.
"Beth, are all your dirty clothes in a bag?" Sansa asked.
Beth nodded and Sansa sighed in relief.
"Okay, I'm going to wash all of your dirty clothes in the washer and you'll have your five pairs clean again."
"Won't people judge me for re-wearing the same undies again?"
"No, it's none of their business and besides sometimes I wear the same undies when I don't take a shower for a day if I didn't sweat." Sansa shrugged.
"Same." Mya agreed and Beth looked at the both of them in amazement.
"Thank you so much, Miss Sansa and Miss Mya!" Beth hugged them both and went back into Mya's room.
"What. A. Night," Mya exclaimed and Sansa couldn't help but agree.
"Drinking coffee right before lunch?" Jon asked as Sansa filled her coffee mug.
"Yep. I'm exhausted, I had to wash one of my girls' clothes because she didn't pack enough underwear. She was upset and it broke my heart. Yesterday just wasn't her day."
"Beth right? She's a sweetheart." Jon smiled before he took a sip of his tea.
"She definitely is." Sansa nodded in agreement.
"Is she your favorite this week?"
"We as counselors aren't supposed to have favorites." Sansa attempted to be stern as Jon rose an eyebrow and narrowed his eyes. Sansa began laughing so hard that her nose snorted and coffee spilled down her nose.
She grabbed a napkin and dabbed at her nose, refusing to make eye contact with him.
Seven hells, why must I embarrass myself in front of hot guys??? Why can't my laugh be sweet and adorable???
"I like your laugh, it's cute. You should do it more often." Jon's deep voice broke into her reverie and she lifted her eyes to see a small grin on his face.
"You should make more dramatic faces and jokes then," Sansa smiled back and Jon laughed a little.
"Noted." Jon nodded and then his eyebrows knitted together. "I just realized you didn't go to last night's late-night."
"Nope, besides doing Beth's laundry, I took a hot shower and talked to Mya out in the hall for a bit."
"Oh, Mya? Harry had heart eyes when he came back to the cabin last night. About damn time something happened."
"Mr. Jon? Did you just curse on campgrounds?" Sansa dramatically exclaimed and Jon chuckled as he shook his head.
"I sure did, Miss Sansa. Am I going to lose points now?"

Book 1: Chapter 14
“Greetings, I am the fortune teller!”
Ari jumps at the sudden, loud voice that accosts him as he takes a first timid step into the Gulp tavern. He’s so distracted by the strange high-pitched sound that at first, he doesn’t quite register what’s being said. If you took a rat and told it to do chores for the next four hours, the sound of its whining and complaining would probably come close to sounding like this voice.
“Huh?”
“There’s a reason I can’t reveal my name. But ‘Love Fortune Teller Number 1’ Is what most people call me.”
Ari’s eyes finally land on the speaker. An extremely short - woman? He thinks it’s a woman anyway - wearing a muted purple dress with black and yellow stripes along the hem. The weirdest element though is a curious sack-like mask with jagged eye and mouth holes that covers the woman’s face.
“Love Fortune Teller Number 1 seems a little … different.”
“My boy, just one look at the crystal and I’ll identify exactly who loves you the most!” At this moment, she reaches into a pocket and slips out a huge crystal ball, seemingly filled with smoke.
“Am I in the right place?”
He looks around to be sure. It’s not a place he visits much, but Ari’s been in enough times to fetch his father to know what it should look like. Even midday, the place is fairly low-lit. Moody oil lamps cast a warm orange glow that goes perfectly with amber colored beverages in clear glasses. Immediately before the door there’s the bar. A grouchy looking woman, the bartender, stands behind it, eying Ari and ‘Love Fortune Teller Number 1’ with skepticism. This is the right place.
“Oh, are you not interested?” Love Fortune Teller Number 1 asks, wiggling stubby fingers over the crystal ball. “What a sad thing - a young man not invested in his love life.”
“Um, no, that’s not …”
“Great! Here we go!”
Love Fortune Teller Number 1 intensifies her finger wiggles, passing her crazed digits over the crystal’s surface.
“Hey! Hey! Hey!” she starts in a strikingly un-majestic way, “Show me, my crystal ball! Show me the one with whom this boy’s life is entwined … hmmm … yes, yes! Ah, it’s coming to me through the fogs of the beyond. Yes, yes.”
“Uh … ma’am, I really have to go-”
“Whoa!”
“What?”
“A childhood friend! Let’s see. Begins with a J. Jodie … Janice …”
“Julia?”
“That’s the one! Yes, her love for you … it shines through the fog … though it sometimes gets obscured by the confusions, the frantic ups and downs of adolescence.”
“I see.”
“Despair not, boy! Do not give up hope!”
“Oi! Love Fortune Teller Number 1! Leave the kid alone,” the bartender suddenly yells.
“Despair not,” continues Love Fortune Teller Number 1, as if nothing just happened, “people inevitably change … as does the love between them.”
Ari stands there for a moment, the words weighing heavy on him with their surprising insight.
“Go home, lady! You’re drunk!”
The fortune teller finally whips towards the bar, and nearly tips over like an unbalanced top.
“I am not drunk! I’ve only had a few! I’m saving love lives here!”
The bartender says nothing, but emphatically points towards the door.
“Fine. Young man, come see me should you ever need some clarity on matters of the heart. I’ll be at the Parm Inn … probably sleeping.”
With that, the little masked fortune teller drops the crystal ball back into her pocket and makes her way tipsily out the door.
“Sheesh!” exclaims the bartender, “she’s been doing that all day. I know we’ve been closed for a long while, but people need to pace themselves. It’s the middle of the day!”
Ari just nods, mildly distracted by the fact that this makes two people now who’ve told him that his childhood friend, Julia, has been harboring a major crush for him.
“Anyway, what can I do for you, hun? Your dad hasn’t been in if that’s why you’re here.”
“No. Uh … actually, I was wondering if anyone … I mean, have you heard anything about a …” Ari feels obligated to lower his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “… a map of evil kings?”
The bartender stares at him for a minute, but then turns and nods her head towards the other side of the bar. “That one’s been going on and on about it since we reopened.”
Ari follows her gesture and finds …
“Is that the ringmaster?”
Further into the bar, the oil lamps give way to sunlight leaking in through two small arched windows set high in the wall. Most of the tables sit empty, waiting for the late evening when drinking heavily is a bit more socially acceptable. However, at one table tucked away in the corner, there sits the rotund figure of the circus ringmaster. His mustache, his wide empty eyes, and his tall top hat are unmistakable. The bartender nods, but then sighs with disdain.
“Once he starts to drink, he really gets drunk. Don’t know what to do with him.”
The rotund man shifts to readjust his seating and then dramatically tilts his head back to put away another drink. The sound of a deep, guttural burp crosses the bar. Ari grimaces.
“Thanks, ma’am.”
Forcing the disgust from his expression, Ari makes his way to the far off table. When he finds his place just behind the ringmaster’s shoulder, the smell of sweat, peanuts, and stale popcorn hits him one hundred fold and he has to painfully stifle a gagging cough.
“Stupid troopers,” mumbles the ringmaster to himself, “ugh, leaving without me …”
Another burp punctuates his lament.
“So this is the lowlife who’s spreading that swill!”
Suddenly, Stan pops up out of the floor.
“Hey you! I hear you’ve been spreading tall tales that there’s more than one Evil King!”
The ringmaster jumps and spins round in his seat.
“What?! … o-oh … you’re that kid … the one I saw the other night, with the shadow.”
“Yeah,” Ari confirms.
“Now that I got a good look,” he says, getting up from his chair and stumbling closer to Ari, “you’ve got an interesting shadow with ya there.”
“Interesting?! Agghh, fine! Whatever! Just know this, fat man - if you speak of this ‘Map o’ Evil Kings’ rubbish again, I may just shut that mouth of yours permanently!”
“Oh?” replies the ringmaster with a hiccup, “you want it? Sure thing.”
He reaches into his waistcoat and retrieves a tattered, crease patterned sheet of parchment the color of over steeped tea. Ari takes it gingerly.
“Lately, they’ve been saying a fearful Evil King’s shown up in Madril. I swear, it’s true. Ha ha ha, it’s funny really. So, what are you going to do about it, Shadow Evil King?”
The words make time stand still. Ari stares at the ringmaster, re-evaluating the man behind the polka-dotted waistcoat and the peanut smell. Even the village elder thought Stan was just some weird magic trick, but the ringmaster … he knows?
“Shadow Evil King?” repeats Ari dumbfounded.
“Curses,” spits Stan, “you’re more than just some drunk mortal, aren’t you? who are you?!”
“Ugh, I think I’m gonna barf …”
Ari scrambles back a step.
“Heh heh, too much fun last night.”
“Answer me!”  barks King Stan.
But the ringmaster pays him no mind and falls back into his chair.
“Barkeep, give me 10 minutes and then bring over another bottle, would ya?”
“Not today, ringmaster! I’m cutting you off. You’ve got 5 seconds to get out of my bar and back over to the Parm Inn.”
Feeling that his interrogation of the ringmaster has decidedly come to an end, Ari moves back towards the tavern entrance before he can get caught in the bartender’s last nerve.
“Hey boy, wait! Why don’t we take a look at that map.”
“Oh, right.”
Ari almost forgot about the limp piece of paper still clutched in his fingers. He looks around, notices the bartender irritably making her way over to the unbudged ringmaster, and decides to slip over to the opposite end of the tavern. He turns up the flame in one of the oil lamps and holds the map up to catch the orange light.
The map has been folded and unfolded in a variety of different ways, each leaving a sharp hill or valley in its memory. All the world is there, rising and falling with the abundance of crinkles and creases. Ari’s eyes immediately fall on his home country, a shape like a dribbled glob of gravy. Around its edges are nameless squiggles and lines representing only God knows what. But to the north in the gravy glob country, there is Tenel, shown by a tiny little dot.
“Eh? What’s this? 1 … 2 … There are more Evil Kings than myself?”
Scanning his eyes over the expanse, Ari notices the other, more unusual map markings. Little black crowns are stamped all across the world. One blocks the dot labeled Madrid to Tenel’s southeast and another covers Rishero, a place further south that Ari’s never heard of before. But not just towns, they cover all over, haphazardly, without rhyme or reason.
Ari can’t help but notice that no such black crown appears in Tenel.
“On top of that, where’s my crown?! I’m not even on this stupid map! James! James! Where are you?!”
In the next moment, a glowing white portal blossoms up from the floor, spitting wind and mist into Ari’s face. James slowly emerges from the mist, but backwards, facing away from his master.
“Like the setting sun … the glistening moon …”
The evil butler spins around, seeming startled by the change in scenery. He quickly recovers and genuflects.
“Oh, Master! How might I serve?”
“James!” Stan barks, flailing about in classic Stan fashion, “straiten this out, will you? Am I not the one and only Evil King? The successor of the great Evil King Gohma? Who are these other Evil Kings?!”
“Hmmmmmm,” muses James as he gazes upon the map, “well, Master, I will tell you. These others are impostors. Encroachers. Evil Kings only in name.”
“Fake Evil Kings?” asks Ari.
“Precisely. While you were inside the bottle, my Master, they must have stolen your powers, and then went about claiming to be Evil Kings. That must be it!”
“You got all that just by looking at the map?”
James shrugs. “How else could such a thing be? There is only one Evil King and that is my Master.”
“Hmmmmm, I see. I knew something was wrong. These Tenel villagers called me - me - my dark majesty, a … ‘nice guy!’”
“Well, you did get that one lady’s hat out of the tree …”
“Shuddup! Naturally, if my power were at its peak, they would have wept and groveled before me. Yes! That must be it! So it was all the doing of these usurpers! These self-proclaimed Evil Kings were stealing my power!”
“How did they-”
“There is just one thing to do! Slave, you know what that is, don’t you?!”
“Uh …”
“Master!” James exclaims excitedly, “Of course! Of course!”
“Indeed! We’re going to take out all of those phony Evil Kings and get back all of my dark powers!”
“Oh … uh …”
“Then, the whole world will tremble and kneel before me as they rightfully should! Slave, let’s do this! An expedition of conquest!”
“But, um, K-King Stan … uh … Julia … girl …”
“You have nerve, slave! I may not have my full power, but you disobey me and a three hour tickling torture will be waiting for you!”
“Tickling?”
“Master,” James intervenes, “if I may, the teenage girl, Julia, has a bit of a crush on your slave.”
Ari stares at James. Even the evil butler knows?!
“For a kid as uncool as you,” James continues, “this could be your last chance for romance. That’s what you’re thinking, isn’t it?”
“… well, I wouldn’t have put it quite like that …”
“Touching …” Stan says flatly, “But you’re my slave. You are stuck with me! Ha ha ha! Enough of this romantic rot! We must pack for the journey! To your house! Come on, Slave!”
“But …”
“Oh, that ‘Map o’ Evil Kings.’ How infuriating! Don’t lose that, Slave. It should keep us on the trail of those upstart impostors!”
Before Ari can cough up any more half-formed protests, Stan slips back down into the floor and James bows himself back into the whirling portal. He is left alone with the crushing defeat of having lost love before it could even begin. Feelings of uncoolness settle over him.

CIRCLE OF IRON
Tumblr media
PART 2 of 6: ANGER
Rey expected he would lock her up, as soon as they got to his ship.
But he didn’t.
Rey didn’t really understand her situation until she went with Kylo Ren to his private quarters, and saw maintenance droids finishing up the task of cleaning up a small room.
Bed, desk, circular window, window seat, bookshelves bolted to the wall, small closet with drawers.
This was her room.
“You may encode the door with your fingerprint. Then I will not be able to open it. Do you have any other clothes? Any belongings?”
“Just what I have with me.”
“Have you ever had a medical evaluation?”
“No.”
“Well, that can wait until tomorrow.”
He showed her where the bathroom was, and the common room, and his small private kitchen.
“You can eat whatever you want from the refrigeration unit. But you must be careful not to eat or drink anything that doesn’t come from here, or that I have not prepared. I have enemies. Now that I am your teacher? You have the same enemies. You can trust the water fountains. Nothing else. Don’t use the stove. I don’t like anyone cooking in my kitchen. Tomorrow you’ll have a medical evaluation. Would you rather have a droid or a person?”
Rey shrugged.
“You’ll also be measured for clothes.”
“For that, I want a droid. I don’t want any strange men seeing me naked.”
“Then I will assign my personal doctor to you, also. You can trust Talia, absolutely. I do. Go in your room, and I’m locking you in until I have seen my doctor. I don’t think I can trust you, yet.”
***
Rey had only meant to lie down on the bed.
But she was so exhausted that she fell asleep, immediately.
Kylo Ren’s voice awakened her.
“The door is unlocked. You can enable it to lock only for you, now. Come out, if you're hungry.”
Rey was hungry.
And she was stuck, here, on a Star Destroyer, with Kylo Ren.
She had made a deal, and she was bound by it.
In blood.
Rey suddenly began to wonder what the hell she was doing, at all.
If she'd had a home to go to, she thought, she would probably have found a way to escape, went back to it, and forgot the whole thing.
But she didn’t have a home.
Why is this monster in human form still being kind to me after I cut his face open? Is he the Great Beast and the Handsome Prince, at the same time?
Rey coded the door for her thumbprint and DNA, and then she walked out.
There was a long fiber bandage going from almost his forehead, down to his neck, and disappearing into the A-line black undershirt.
“I don’t understand you.” Rey said, bluntly.
Kylo Ren said nothing, he only busied himself in the kitchenette as she sat at the metal table.
“What do you want from me?”
“They’ve been at your mind, already. Telling you about their war. Their religion. Their path for you. Rey, you’re our only hope. I used to be their only hope. Now I’m Snoke’s only hope. Or so it seems to him. I don’t want anything from you. You have nothing. You are alone. I want to teach you how to use the Force, but more importantly? How to escape being used by people like my mother. And Snoke. Because they would use your loneliness and your poverty to manipulate you. I can see they already have. I would know. I let both sides use me and manipulate me.”
He turned away from the counter.
“I know you think these people are your friends. They’re not. I would know. This is my family. The people who raised me. My father, he doesn’t care about destiny, or the Force, but he didn’t care enough about me to save me from the rest of them. If they used me for their own purposes, what about you? With no home, no family, nothing but a spear and the clothes on your back?”
He turned back to the counter.
“You’ll have three meals a day, every day, a room of your own, clothes for every day, and you can take a shower every day. You’re not a First Order conscript, but I can get you on the payroll, as support staff. Let me be your teacher. Try not to think of yourself as a bird in a gilded cage. At the end of the year, if you want to go, I’ll give you a sack of Imperial Gold Coins, and a one-man ship, and you can take whatever possessions you want from your room, and go. Hopefully, even if you don’t want to join me? You won’t want to join them, either. The Old Man could use a good scavenger, in his business. Keep that in mind.”
“Why should you care about me?”
“I could talk to you about the way the Force has brought us together. That you feel it, too. I could tell you about the immediate attraction we had to each other. And that you feel it, too. But I have more dire reasons. I know you’re in danger of suffering a terrible fate. My fate. I used to be you, Rey. The Little Prince. The Only Hope. I knew when I was 14 or 15 that I wasn’t cut out to be a Jedi. But it was what my mother wanted. And my Uncle. And my grandfather, Anakin Skywalker, who people said I looked more like, every day. So, I kept trying to live up to their expectations. He was a Jedi. I was determined that I would be, too. You know how I found out that he was Darth Vader? The same way the Galaxy did. I was 17. It was a terrible betrayal, but it explained many things. Why my mother didn’t want a boy around who resembled Anakin Skywalker, physically, and in temperment. Why my Uncle looked on some of my achievements with fear. That’s when I found grandfather's TIE Fighter. And I began my own rebellion. I restored that TIE Fighter, and immediately flew to Tattoine, and shipped out on a freighter with a Mandalorian smuggler. Under an assumed name. The Old Man found me, and I was 18 before my Mother talked him into sending me back to the Temple. That was the first of many times that I ran away, in the next five years. I just wish someone had been there to tell me that what Master Snoke had on offer was just as false. I’d still be a free man. Now? I’m just another slave to the First Order. Only a little better off than the Troopers in my command crew. The sons of bitches took me from my family, and tortured and brainwashed me, and lied to me, too. Now I’m trapped, again, doing the Imperial Dirty Work. That is, until I develop the skill and the strength to get out. You don’t have to share my fate, Rey. And if I’m right, about my feeling…my feeling about our bond? We may be able to help each other escape the hideous trap of spending a lifetime as a slave to a destiny you didn’t ask for. And never quite understood.”
That was an honest answer.
Unsettlingly so.
I used to be you. The Jedi used and betrayed me. I found the Sith no better. They will do the same to you, if I don’t stop them.
Even if it wasn’t true, it was what Kylo Ren believed.
But there was some truth in it.
Rey knew from the sudden coldness in her soul that there was.
There has to be a reason that Han Solo and General Organa-Solo live apart. That he turned his back on the Republic, and has nothing to do with the Resistance. There has to be a reason that Luke Skywalker abandoned the world and disappeared. There has to be a reason that Ben Solo became Kylo Ren.
All of his bitter words are not just bitterness.
Some are the truth.
I have to try and separate the truth from his loneliness and bitterness and pain.
But those are part of the truth, too.
And then Kylo Ren put a plate in front of Rey.
Rey could feel her eyes growing wide.
It wasn’t as if she had never eaten a sandwich; well, not often.
But the two slabs of black bread had to be an inch thick, and in between them was a large chunk of nerf cheese, and slab upon slab of sliced nerf beef, etirely slathered in Rodian mayonnaise.
Not to mention there was an apple and a pear sitting on the plate.
Both.
Rey sat, looking in awe at the plate of food and then Kylo Ren sat a giant glass of blue milk in front of her.
He had a pitcher of it, two giant sandwiches, two pears and two apples.
“Look at all this food! How much food do you have?”
“More than even I could eat, in the next six months. Blame Chewbacca. He did most of the real work, raising me. I eat like a Wookiee. How the hell do you think I got to be this big?”
“Well, do I have to save some of this for tomorrow?”
“No. I have enough of my food stored on this ship to last a year. And if I eat it all before that? I can afford to buy more.”
“I can eat it all, right now?”
“All of it. You’ve been hungry all your life, Rey. Starving. That’s over, now. You'll be able to change your clothes every day. And eat all you want, at all three meals. Eat until you can’t move, if it makes you happy. And you can take a shower, every day. Or a bath. As long as you’re here, with me? You can have whatever you need. Just ask for it. Extra meals. Different clothes.  Extra blankets. Five pillows. Money. Books. A blaster. Anything.”
“Are you allowed to drink?” Rey asked.
“Of course. I’m a bad guy. I can drink, and smoke, and sleep with girls, even.”
Kylo Ren stood up.
He went back to the counter, and returned with a mug of Arkanian ale.
And a pitcher, for himself.
“Thank you. But I am entirely uninterested in what you do and don’t do with women.” Rey said.
Frostily.
“Which brings me to Wednesday. You'll have to stay in your room on Wednesday nights. I have a guest, on Wednesday nights.”
“What if I have to use the toilet?”
“Go out your door into the main hallway, and use the Women’s Officer's Refresher. She’s suspicious and possessive.”
“Fine. That’s just fine.”
Rey thought she heard Kylo Ren laugh into his pitcher as he drank.
***
The next day, a droid measured Rey for new clothes, in her room.
The doctor, a Twi-Lek female, also visited her, in her room.
She got an evaluation, and at the end, explained to the doctor that she had an unregistered contraceptive implant, and that there was something wrong with it.
“The order for treatment includes a new implant.”
Rey was glad when all that was over.
Not so glad that the doctor immediately shared all her findings with Kylo Ren.
“Your apprentice is in generally good health. She is somewhat malnourished. I would like to see her gain 25 pounds in the next two to three months. If you keep her to the Kashyyyki diet you eat, that will be fine, along with vitamin supplements. Also, there was a problem with a faulty implant of unknown origin. If you are on intimate terms with your apprentice, I must ask you to forego any intimacy for the next two weeks.”
“We are not on intimate terms!” Rey shouted.
“Is Miss Rey in pain? Will she need to rest?”
“No, there’s no need for bed rest. Will that be all, Lord Ren?”
“Yes. Oh, and doctor? My apprentice and I are not on intimate terms. You may go, now.”
The doctor departed.
“Before you accuse me, all the female officers and stormtroopers of the First Order who are unmarried and serve with men on spacecraft are required to have an implant.”
Rey had been about to accuse him.
“You’re a strange man, Kylo Ren.” She finally said.
***
Han looked incredibly pleased with himself.
“So, Ben is pissed off at Old Man Snoke. For lying to him, and brainwashing him and all that shit. He wants to kill the twisted old freak. Eventually. And he explained his ideas, about the Force to me. I didn’t get it, but Rey said Ben was a Grey Jedi. They kinda, you know, went for each other. And Ben wants to take care of Rey. Teach her about that Grey Jedi shit. Give her a home, and three squaresa day, and in a year? I’ll give her a job as my scavenger. Meanwhile, I will keep working on the kid, you know, when we do business. So, things will turn out fine.”
Han lay back in the pillows on Leia's camp bed, and closed his eyes.
Having taken care of business, with his wife, and negotiated a deal with his son, Han was just about asleep when Leia slapped him across the face.
“Hey?”
“You stupid son of a bitch! How is your own son smarter than you? And you just gave Rey to him? To save your miserable old ass!”
“Look, Your Generalship, you've only seen the kid about six times in the last ten years! I had him on my ship, and he was doing pretty good and you made me take him back to that Jedi school! The last time, he begged me to let him stay! You know how much sleep I lose, thinking about that? In the four or five years I've been doing business with Ben, I see him once a month, and until Starkiller Base? Never without that mask. He doesn’t even call me Dad. He calls me Solo. Like my name has nothing to do with him. And I live with that. Just so I can have a place in his life!”
“Does the money help? What about the spoils of sixty years of Galactic War?”
“So I like the money? I’m not in this for the money. Or the war. Or the Galaxy. I’d like to get my son back. Alive. And I think Rey’s better off with me, or with Ben than she is getting involved in all this shit. We tried this before, remember? It didn’t work.”
Han rolled over to the wall.
Then he rolled back.
“Why the hell are we sleeping on this cot in this tent when the Falcon's here?”
“I haven’t slept in a real bed for months.” Leia replied.
“Well, put your clothes on. Let’s go.”
“We’re not done talking.”
“I’m done talking. Look, you worry about the Galaxy. I’ll worry about the kid.”
“What if he kills Snoke and doesn’t come back?”
“Then Rey will be there. To convince him. Or to stun him in his sleep. Or put something on his food.”
“You really think that’s what’s going to happen?”
“Don’t you?” Han asked.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if it already has. Ok. Let’s go home to the Falcon.”
***
Rey spent the next week getting used to her new surroundings.
After that, Kylo Ren presented her with a schedule.
She would wake at 7, and they would have breakfast.
At nine, two hours of lightsaber training.
At eleven, one hour of combat training.
At noon, lunch.
At two, two hours of guided meditation.
At four, assigned reading and/or discussion.
Dinner at six, and then she was free until the next morning.
“If I am not present, I expect you to spend the whole day meditating and reading. But I will leave your meals in the refrigeration unit.”
Rey knew she should not use training as an excuse to attack Kylo Ren.
He had showed her nothing but kindness.
But she did it, anyway.
He made her angrier with his infinite patience with her infinite anger.
Worst of all?
Rey was actually feeling better, physically, and learning much about the Force and her abilities.
He never mentioned her taking a side, light or dark.
His training was focused on her discovery of both, within her, and to come to a balance between them.
Her anger that he gave her so little to hate came to a head during a hand to hand combat session.
No matter how hard she fought him, she couldn’t so much as get one punch in.
And that was what made her decide to punch her teacher in the balls.
As hard as she could.
He grabbed her wrist, stopping her just before her fist connected.
“No. Bad Rebel Girl. You have to kiss me, first.”
“My intent wasn’t romantic! Let me go!”
He let her hand go.
“I will be going on a combat mission, tomorrow. So you can have the satisfaction of knowing that I will get hurt.”
