Landduo convo I found interesting today
Foolish: I can read you like a book from front to cover and back again.
Pili: Woah woah how long have you guys known each other then?
Foolish: Golly what?
Bad: It's been a long time. Foolish: Too long.
Bad: Too long
Pili: That's probably why
Bad: Too longs don't make a right
(…)
Pili: Is it really that bad that I'm killing someone that come back to life? If he allows me to? Because I don't think your morals are the same as his morals & my morals, and the same with standards too, it's different. You wouldn't understand it.
(…)
Foolish: Actually Pili, there's another problem I've come to realize. I think right now you're too buddied up with this guy right here.
Pili: Well, technically I do spend a lot of time with Bad because I spend a lot of time with Pangi, but that's another conversation.
Foolish: Oh, so you wish Bad wasn't there. It's more of just like-
Pili: I mean, I…sometimes want to be alone with Pangi
Ros: Bad, that's so sad. I'm so sorry to hear this.
Bad: Wait what? That's crazy. I thought I had at least 1 friend in this realm.
Ros: Don't worry, we're friends, Bad.
Foolish: Maybe if you just didn't accidentally kill half of them, you'll have some more.
Bad: Maybe I just haven't killed enough.
Foolish: No. What?
Bad: Huh?
(…)
Bad: Foolish, what was that you were saying, you hated the most about your kingdom the other day?
Foolish: What?
Bad: The other day you were saying how some of your kingdom members were getting on your nerves?
Foolish: Oh, is this is really what you're gonna do?
Ros: Huh? Really? Is this true?
Foolish: No! This is like one of his favorite tricks in the book is like to pull a random stunt like, oh, remember that time the other day you were talking about like you didn't like Ros or something like that is what he does. Cuz he has nothing of substance.
Pili: He just like, you just know him so well, Foolish. I think out of everyone in the realm, you know him the best.
Foolish: Yeah, sadly. Bad: That's true
Bad: Ros, you were saying something the other day to Pili. Your feelings got hurt.
Pili: Do you remember what that was? When you asked me out on a date?
(…)
Bad: So, that's how little Ros thinks of Pili that you just want to say the whole conversation yesterday didn't happen. Ok, I didn't know you felt about Pili that way, that you hated him that much.
Ros: Woah. No no no. No no no.
(…)
Ros: No, it's fine, you know? If you join the Kingdom, I'll be very disappointed, but it's ok. I'll see you later.
(…)
Foolish: Friendship really blossomed in this kitchen table.
Bad: I feel like we're making a lot of progress here. That was a great episode.
(…)
Bad: I think you should kill Ros.
Foolish: Bad! Look what you did. Look what you did.
Bad: What?!
Foolish: Look what you did. Don't act like you're not smiling ear to ear, ok? You did that one little comment and you're like, oh, remember that one time? (…) This is you, pal.
Bad: I just want to see them work out their differences.
Foolish: No, the only thing you wanted was to see differences blossom. That's all you do. That's all you do, ok! You're just a little virus! You're a little virus that follows me from server to server to server!
Bad: What?! That's crazy!
Pili: Are you like a stalker, BadBoyHalo?
Foolish: Lowkey.
Bad: This guy's the stalker. Everywhere I look, he's right behind me. (…) I always feel like no matter where I look, like I look over here and I can still see those green beady eyes looking at me. I can still feel it everywhere. I don't know why.
Pili: Guys, I'm gonna go apologize to Ros cause I actually am not a bad person.
Bad: Apologize with violence.
Foolish: Can you not, for once.

Summary: Gavin and Nines are on security duty when an unexpected cyber attack results in the android's synthetic skin being compromised. Despite his worries, Gavin reassures him that their bond runs deeper than the pieces they are made of.
Word Count: 4.7K
Gavin and Nines had been assigned to security duty at the opening ceremony for a new Jericho Community Centre. It was due to be a pretty contained event, nothing overly flashy or publicised. Normally, it wouldn't demand any police involvement, but there had been whispers the Anti Android Alliance planned to attend—staging some sort of protest.
This turned out to be true, although not in the way that could've been anticipated. It seemed a particularly enlightened Dipshit In Charge had decided the usual M.O. of bats and bricks wouldn't cut it. Instead, they were going to make some waves with a street-deployed cyber attack. Send their 'message', whatever deranged bullshit that might be, by taking out some local figureheads with a home-brewed virus.
Fuck knows how they'd manage to string together the spaghetti code with their three collective brain cells—or how they'd loaded up said clusterfuck onto the batons concealed in their pockets. Nevertheless, about five minutes into the presentation, they started swinging. Weapons bared and flung into the faces of nearby pedestrians as they tried to make their way to the stage.
Shit hit the fan, but fortunately, not for their targets.
It turned out the engineering at Fuckhead H.Q. was just as shitty as the planning, as the would-be attempt at corporal justice folded like a house of cards. Most of the batons didn't work, and with the ones that did, the virus wasn't able to execute the way they'd wanted.
The intent had been to infiltrate the android's core systems through mass corruption of their internal networks. Ultimately, overloading the CPU and causing permanent shutdown, but without plugging the device directly into an access port—which they clearly had no idea how to do, and their targets weren't about to help with—its reach was incredibly limited.
Basically, it couldn't do shit. Stalling at the first line of defence: the chassis. Digital garbage hurled at a plastic wall.
Nines had been hit by one of the bastards—stuck in the side of the neck as he wrangled them away from a Jericho representative. Handling of the situation became a lot less gentle after that, with the man catapulted onto the floor, squealing like a pig as the android pinned his flailing limbs. Gavin had moved to assist, feeding the guy a couple of teeth for his trouble.
Total accident, of course. The man just happened to move his face as he was getting the cuffs on, and it just happened to slam into the detective's fist.
He didn't get much of the chiding he'd usually expect for this, as the virus had started to do its thing. Working across his partner's body, flickering in patches like a broken LCD. The corruption branched down his throat before retreating beneath his collar in search of available access.
Much like with the other android's affected, it failed. Nines was fine, mostly: the only exception being that the malware had managed to fuck up one of his less important functions. His synthetic skin.
At least, that's what the Cyberlife Tech on the phone suggested was happening when they decided to call. The glitches spread, with the majority hidden beneath clothes—but Nines could undoubtedly feel the effects of corruption taking hold. While he wasn't sure if this was something they really needed to worry about, the concept alone left a bad taste in Gavin's mouth.
They were forced to leave reinforcements to book the fucker responsible, as well as the rest of his brain-dead friends. A shame, as the detective would have loved to acquaint him with the book about to be thrown his way. Maybe give him a black eye to go with the dental bill.
As they made their way home, the vibrancy of glitches had started to decrease, fading into a translucent creep that filmed across the skin. Whatever receptors were present to lend cloaking abilities were beginning to short-circuit, creating an expanding kaleidoscope of freckles and plastic.
Gavin used full siren privileges to run every red light they encountered, determined to weave through the traffic as quickly as possible. He had never seen the android so panicked—frenzied—like the car would be at risk of imploding if it didn't imminently materialise outside their home.
With his understanding of Michigan Traffic Laws becoming increasingly lax, Nines continued to rip into the rep held at knifepoint in his temporal channel. He hadn't bothered to lock communication to his internal server and instead was speaking out loud—in a tone that a more diplomatic man might describe as 'a bit confrontational.'
In reality, he had gone all seven shades of middle-aged-mom-with-an-expired-coupon. Demanding the guy listen to every minute detail of his grievance and inform him how quickly it could be resolved.
Gavin would have found this hilarious had the intensity not been a little terrifying. Instead, it inspired him to punch the gas harder, resulting in a chorus of beeps as he pulled a particularly dangerous manoeuvre around a sharp bend.
It didn't seem to matter what the squeaky-voiced foetus on the line said; each suggestion was ruled unacceptable. Commencing a perpetual cycle of 'that isn't fast enough' and 'speak with your supervisor' and 'this is an emergency, William; it should be prioritised accordingly.' The rep responded to each chastisement with small, deflated whimpers, like a punctured balloon expelling air.
The virus, now engaged fully, worked in stages to target each section of artificial skin. Limbs faded out in sporadic blotches as glossy pinpricks expanded their way into dense bands of white. They tunnelled through rapidly shrinking pockets of flesh, with Nines looking like a six-foot lava lamp by the time they finally reached the apartment.
Admittedly, it was a strange image—with this something the android seemed astutely aware of. He had charged for the bathroom and locked himself in within seconds of entering their home, informing Gavin with no uncertainty he would not be coming out until help arrived.
This was all well and good at first, but after three hours—and five espressos—nature was calling. Not softly, either, having been forced to wait for a good fucking while.
The pressure grew, and rather than risk a hole being punched through the wall of his bladder, Gavin concluded he couldn't hold it. Rapping his knuckle on the wood, he pressed his face against it, making a pointed appeal to his partner.
"Nines, I need a piss. Let me in for a sec."
The request went ignored, bouncing uselessly off the door and crumpling at his feet. Frustrated, he knocked again, using his available grip to jiggle insistently on the handle.
"Come on, I'm desperate. Open the fucking door."
"The Cyberlife technician will be here soon," an even tone greeted him, undercutting the demand. "I am confident you can wait a few more minutes."
"It's been more than a few, jackass."
"The operative advised that their arrival would fall between 2 and 7. As we are nearing 6:45, we can anticipate—"
Gavin disrupted the explanation with a prolonged groan of protest. His head lulled back as he grappled with a growing temptation to slingshot it through the panel. "Those windows mean jack shit. You'll be lucky if the bastard shows up before June. Hell, you'll be lucky if he shows up at all."
There was a weighty pause as though Nines was attempting to formulate some form of mind-shattering retort. Words of assurance so profound they would effectively conclude the debate—as well as any and all that followed.
Despite having a world of knowledge quite literally wired to his brain, the android gave him nothing. Treading over the same tired deflection with a small, dejected huff. "Just wait. It won't take long."
"If you don't let me in, I'm gonna go in the litter box—or the kitchen sink."
The latter threat inspired a visceral reaction. Gavin swore he could see the red casting from his partner's temple, seeping through the cracks under the door. "You wouldn't dare."
"Try me. It's full of dishes. You want that on your conscience?"
As though taking a moment to grapple with the grim proposal, Gavin was made to wait in anticipation of his partner's reply. A lull that seemed to stretch endlessly, as he tried not to focus on the uncomfortable pressure in his groin. Crossing his legs, he tapped his foot impatiently—a motion that would have likely attracted the attention of a marauding cat were she not out harassing strays.
There were muffled sounds behind the door, like rustling fabric, followed by the telltale scrape of something heavy being moved. It seemed like Nines had gone to the effort of barricading himself inside, just in case Gavin managed to break through the flimsy hold of the lock.
"Turn around and keep your eyes forward. I will only leave this room on the condition you do not look."
"Yeah, sure, whatever," the man grunted, eyes rolling at the theatrics. "I swear I won't look. Scouts honour."
Another rustle followed—and a click—as an internal mechanism was turned and released. The door creaked forward, with casts of fluorescents from beyond the passage starting to leak into the hallway. True to his word, Gavin turned around. Gaze fixed on a nearby wall—as though the flecked chips of paint were the most engaging things he had ever seen.
The panel swung open completely, anchored on creaking hinges, and steady steps crossed the threshold. They did not progress much further, as Nines failed to meet the steady foundation of the carpet, instead greeted with a cat toy being compressed beneath his weight.
The worn squeaker of the felt mouse strained to its absolute limit, wheezing in a prolonged cry, until it slipped out from beneath his toes and careened across the room.
Shit.
Nines opposed the trajectory, fumbling back and colliding firmly with the weathered plaster behind him. Dangerously close to where they kept their beast of burden's scratching post.
Shit.
Gavin wasn't sure if the glitching had affected his partner's durability, but he didn't want to find out. Certainly not by being forced to remove him from a surprisingly solid pillar of plywood.
Nines already had one near miss today. The last thing he needed was for the engineer's visit to end up a real emergency.
Don't turn, don't—
His head whipped around despite all resistance. It had been out of instinct, really, with no malicious intent intended. An innate compulsion to assist, justifying that he would've been more of an asshole if he'd wilfully allowed his boyfriend to skewer himself.
It only occurred just how badly he had fucked up when he saw him.
The partners froze, eyes locked, and the room around them seemed to vanish. The structural integrity of limbs and furniture was immediately forgotten as Gavin's heart plummeted into his ass.
Nines looked horrified. His LED flashed like a warning beacon, crimson pulses growing in frequency the more his eyes widened. He stayed that way for a period. Paralysed. Like a startled deer out on a highway, about to be struck by an oncoming vehicle.
It was nothing like him at all, and Gavin found it deeply unnerving. He then proceeded to make it worse, executing all the same grace of a violent roadside collision. Allowing the first slack-jawed musing that popped into his skull to tumble tactlessly from his lips:
"Oh shit."
The red illuminating Nines' face took on a different meaning in the wake of the outburst. He had broken free of his prey-like stupor and emerged angry—furious. Taking laboured strides toward the bathroom, levelling his partner with an increasingly scornful glare.
"I told you not to look."
Gavin winced at the accusation dripping from the words, as they were dragged through the snarled curl of the android's mouth. Damage control was needed, but he was unable to engage the appropriate mental factions.
Instead, he attempted to downplay his previous stunned reaction—gesturing his boyfriend up and down with feigned indifference:
"This is why you've been holding the shitter hostage?" He noted how his arm cast shadows against the sheened wall of plastic, masking his intrigue with a scoff. "Really, that's it?"
Nines jerked back, expression pinched as though he had been struck in the face. "What do you mean, 'that's it'? Gavin, look at me."
"So you're a bit pale. Grey round the gills. You should've seen me this one time at Summer camp." Gavin chuckled preemptively, arms folded across his chest as he attempted to recall the memory. "Man, I'd eaten like seventeen s'mores, and I swear they'd laced the marshmallows with laxatives because, after that, I couldn't…"
He trailed off as the pronounced scowl etched deeper into his partner's face. Informing it wasn't the time for jokes—and that the legendary saga of Preteen Gavin and the Exploding Bowels would have to wait for another day.
"... Seriously, what did you think I was gonna do?" he challenged, abandoning the playful lilt in favour of something serious. "Freak out and run for the hills because you look like a robot? Because newsflash, genius, I kind of got that. Your skin turns into a goddamn Rorschach every time we do it. Not to mention the static orgasms—"
Nines raised a hand to stop him, clearly not appreciating the growing vividness of the account. "There was a time when this would have been an issue. Please don't insult me by denying that."
His voice was stern—gravelly with a mixture of frustration and hurt—as his expression hardened further. A feat the detective had thought impossible.
He bore into him with sharply trained eyes, still the same vibrant grey they'd always been—despite everything else that had changed.
Remorse struck hard, twisting his gut and nearly knocking him back. Nines was right: not long ago, this would have been a big deal.
The consequence of a roadblock which spanned the numerous tangled alleys of his mind. Something established by years of resentment, growing uncontrollably over time. Soon, it had become impossible to bypass, not that he'd made much effort to try. Facing the beast, he just knew it was insurmountable.
That was until Nines arrived, rolling up to the rickety wagon he'd parked against the barrier and all but ripping him out. Tugged from his seat by the goddamn ears as he kicked and howled in protest.
"Plastic fucker—"
Of course, it wasn't all that dramatic. It didn't happen immediately, and definitely not in a single pull.
The occurrence had been slow and gradual, with Gavin only starting to scream when he realised what was happening. Because the closer they got—moved from aggrieved associates to unexpected friends—the more he had to challenge everything he understood about being alive. A painful, arduous process that forced him to confront wrongs he didn't even know he'd committed.
The conclusion should have brought relief, but instead, it was hollow. Something was still missing—and it sure as hell shouldn't have been. His entire worldview had been uprooted, enriched, and expanded by Nines' perspective.
What more could he possibly want?
Then came that one night spent together on surveillance. They'd been scoping out some low-life dealer: a notorious scumbag who had been running operations out of the back room of an underground nightclub. It was a particularly seedy establishment, turning out to be more 'brothel' than 'party spot.'
They had been forced to adjust their approach, cosying up to one another in an effort to assimilate with the handsy patrons. Not that Gavin was complaining—which, in itself, brought to light something extremely damning. The emergence of a serious problem, one that threatened to blow up his fragile state of composure with a fucking grenade.
A particularly enlightening moment occurred—where Nines had him pinned to a wall, held firm by his wrists—when he realised it was too late. The problem was there. Had been for a while. Shaped into the contours of a chiselled jawline and a cool, bright stare he wanted to drown in.
"Keep still, detective. Eyes on me. I believe I have a visual."
The request had been low, practically purred against his ear. It had sent his heart rate skyrocketing, blood rushing in frantic pumps through the lingering echoes of words still dancing in the canal.
Oh fuck.
After that, he couldn't keep convincing himself that he was content with friendship. He wanted more, wanted this, without having to pretend. Desperation drove him to the insane stunt he pulled seconds later. If it failed, he could always claim it was part of their 'performance.'
An excuse that wasn't needed.
Their lips had met, and after a fleeting blip of hesitation, Nines reciprocated. Practically melting into him, abandoning his wrists in order to capture the sides of his face. Like he was holding something valuable— worthy of care and reverence.
They'd lost their visual on the target, as well as any hope of catching up to their boss, but the impromptu trip to a motel had been worth the berating they received from Captain Fowler.
It couldn't be overstated just how grateful Gavin was that Nines had chosen to give him a chance. To show acceptance despite everything he had put him through.
Because even if he was better, nothing could change the foundational truths of the man he was. The innumerable faults that would continue to persist despite all best efforts. Recklessness, arrogance, and spite. Baggage that came wheeled on a dolly cart, stacked to the ceiling.
None of it mattered.
The android took it all—willingly—and without any ultimatum. From the start, the only expectation had been that Gavin would do right by both of them by not fighting the way Nines made him feel.
And nothing had ever made him feel this way. The kind of unconditional devotion and adoration that seemed unique to them, as well as the simple comfort of being together.
He owed Nines everything. The least he could do was offer some modicum of the same security. Especially now, when he seemed so vulnerable.
"You know your skin deactivates every time you go into sleep mode, right?"
The effort backfired horribly.
If Nines hadn't already seemed willing to take up permanent residence in the bathroom, this declaration came close to cinching it. His eyes widened to near-comedic proportions, looking like they might careen from their sockets. "Excuse me?"
Gavin, realising that this had decidedly not been the approach to take, acted quickly to rectify the mistake. "I'm kidding; I just thought it might make you feel better."
The android was seldom listening, making clear that the damage was done as he sidled closer to the bathroom. The exposed soles of his feet pressed against the linoleum, and Gavin's body howled, desperate for its overdue reunion with his porcelain throne.
"This is—just—I mean, you look—"
"I am well aware of what I look like," Nines interjected. His already tense posture had grown increasingly stiff, as though his back was being supported by a cast iron rod, "and just how far this version of me must detract from your preferences."
The words struck hard—much more so than the previous blow. Any ensuing attempts at fumbled retorts were abandoned as he blinked, stunned into silence.
"The issue will be resolved, and once it has, you needn't concern yourself with my default appearance."
Wait. Hold up.
"Now, if you excuse me, I will wait in the bedroom."
Awareness unfolded, leaving him floored—thoroughly astonished at how Nines, the paragon of informed deduction, could have been so cataclysmically wrong when it sought to matter most. To be able to speak so matter-of-factly, with such a candid degree of confidence, about something that couldn't be further from the truth.
His legs moved before his brain could catch up, placing him decisively into the path between his partner and their bedroom.
"Don't you dare go storming off like you're some goddamn teenager," he hissed, in full awareness that his standing there wasn't actually stopping anyone. Nines could quite easily pick him up and fling him across the room like a frisbee, although he trusted him not to.
"What else would you propose I do? Allow you to defecate in our kitchen because I refused to accommodate?"
"You aren't even giving me time to think." The injustice of the situation was becoming more pronounced, flaring hot in Gavin's ribs. "You're just assuming the worst of me, acting like I'm gonna be a total dick about this."
This proved enough to pierce through his partner's haze of contention. The sharpness in his eyes faded, giving way to a flicker of regret. His softened gaze then fell to the side, heavy with shame. "...That was not my intent. I'm sorry."
"It's fine."
Clearly, it wasn't. The tension between them persisted despite the conclusion to their argument. It was suffocating, and Gavin couldn't help but notice how, despite making no further attempts to physically flee, his partner was still trying to hide. Sinking into himself, hands wrapped in a tense bind across his chest.
"...Nines." The name was gentle, settled on a pensive purse at the end of his lips. "Let me see you. Please."
The android didn't respond immediately, hesitation evident in every microscopic shift of his frame. Eventually, his arms slackened and fell back, revealing the expanse of exposed white torso. While still unsure of the idea, demonstrated in his continued refusal to look up, it was clear Nines was extending some form of invitation—one that Gavin accepted.
He traced his fingers carefully up the stretch of the android's chest. It was not made of a singular uniform piece as he had previously assumed, but rather, a complex network of small, interwoven panels. Segmented into varied shades of white and grey, connected by subtle welds.
As he delicately tested the marks with the heel of his palm, he noted how remarkably smooth they felt, blending seamlessly with the rest of the body.
Not everything beneath the chassis was covered, with pockets of plastic so thin they were practically translucent. It revealed a dense network of wires—vibrant blues shifting through the synthetic circulatory system, pumped in steady flows of biofluid.
The liquid originated from the centre of his ribs, beneath a protrusion in the sternum. Something that pressed to the surface—formed in a subtle ring. It pulsed gently, and the longer he looked, the more he was able to detect rhythmic glows of light.
Gavin whistled low, noting how the pace of the component increased when he placed a hand across it. Blue bled through his fingers, illuminating the veins and tendons beneath his skin. It seemed so calm and balanced compared to the uneven tempo of his own raging pulse.
"I didn't think you'd be able to see so much…" he mused, voice low with admiration. "It's fucking incredible. You know that, right?"
"I am a machine," Nines said bitterly—the word of contention spat with disdain, like a curse. "A collection of polymers and circuitry, designed and constructed together to perform a practical function. There is nothing remarkable about it."
"What you just described is a dishwasher. This is not a dishwasher; this is—" He scoffed in self-deprecation, realising just how unequipped he was to describe the gravity of what he was seeing. In the absence of any poise or delicacy, the man opted for honesty. "You're like some crazy modern artwork, a goddamn masterpiece."
"Stop lying to me."
"I'm not. You'd be able to tell if I was, right?"
Nines had nothing to say to that. His mouth jutted open, a tumultuous train of thought evident in the shifting glow of his LED before it wordlessly snapped shut.
"Look, even if you weren't objectively the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life, it still wouldn't matter."
The android still refused to look at him, posture locked painfully tight, but as Gavin traced a delicate finger around his regulator access panel, there was a hint of a shudder. Bristling through his shoulders, as the tension held there started to wane.
"I know you don't wanna hear this—because it doesn't fit into your tortured soul narrative—and honestly, there's no way to say without it sounding like something out of a shitty romcom—"
He was stalling for time and not effectively. This sort of sentiment wasn't his strong suit. It didn't come naturally, which Nines was aware of. Still, if there was ever a time to be nauseatingly, cavity-inducingly sweet, this was it:
"Truth is, I love you, and that's got absolutely jack shit to do with what you look like. It's because of what's on the inside, or whatever."
"You love me for my thirium pump regulator?"
The finger stalled in motion.
Gavin looked up to discover Nines was facing him, a mischievous grin tugging his lips. He glowered despondently and made a hasty attempt to retract his arm. "Shut up, you know what I meant."
The limb didn't get far, as Nines captured it by the wrist, keeping it anchored to his chest. "I did," he assured, caressing the skin, marking trails of bone and ligament with the end of his thumb.
Until the languid motions slowed as synthetic muscles seized. An aftershock of the previous state of anxiety. It was such a minor slip in control that anyone else would have unlikely noticed. Gavin knew better—keenly able to detect the change.
"This really doesn't bother you?", the android asked, accentuating the question with increased pressure against his carpus.
"Does it bother you that I have a mole on my chest the size of a quarter? Or that you can do a dot-to-dot with my stab wounds?"
"Of course not. Why would that matter?"
"Exactly." The man huffed, punctuating the point with an affectionate prod to the android's temple. "Come on, you're the one with the supercomputer brain; just think about it for a second."
Whatever equanimity his partner was still clinging to unravelled in an instant. He looked genuinely overwhelmed, struck by a tidal wave of emotion which he could barely seek to contain. The breaks showed fast, leaking through in small hitches of crackling breath.
"Gavin, I—" He stopped as though desperately seeking to regain some degree of composure. "You have no idea how much this means to me."
"Don't be a moron." He ushered him forward, capturing the hand still wrapped around his wrist. "Come here."
The android did not resist the embrace, sinking into it, as he enclosed the man with powerful limbs. Cradling the back of his head, digits toying with tousled brown strands.
"Sap," Gavin teased, although he revelled in their proximity just as much. Indulging greedily as he peppered kisses across a tempting expanse of shoulder. "You don't need to hide yourself from me. Ever. I'm here for you—and nothing else."
The charged sounds grew louder, like the rumble of a car engine, sending vibrations through Nines' throat. This was before he cupped his partner's chin and allowed the sound to escape through tightly pressed lips.
He moved with the sort of fervent passion that might suggest he was scared Gavin would disappear—but really, spoke more to the gratitude of knowing he wouldn't. It was only as he had fully breached the cavern of his mouth, and their hips were beginning to rock in sequence that the android finally pulled away.
Gavin was left mesmerised—and a little dazed—by the unexpected boldness. It didn't matter how often Nines did this or what other shows of licentious spontaneity happened to follow; he couldn't foresee a time when it wouldn't knock him off his feet.
How was he supposed to ground himself when he was perpetually flung into Cloud Nine, reminded of just how lucky he was?
"...Besides." He chuckled richly, the sound rolling into the part of tenuously divided lips. "Bald really isn't a bad look on you. It's kind of hot."
The man could practically hear the tight flourish of his partner's eyes before he graciously conceded to the attempt at flirting. "Oh, really? Is that so?"
With a hum of affirmation, Gavin leaned down, forming a seal on the junction between the android's shoulder and neck. "You ever wanna…you know…with the dome out. I'm game."
"Perhaps another time." Nines then returned a hand to the back of his scalp. Burrowing into the hair before resting a cheek softly against his temple. "Right now, I would like it if we could stay like this."
Gavin dutifully complied, removing his lips in favour of nestling against the collarbone. He savoured the gentle rush of warmth that radiated beneath the chassis. It felt like home, and his eyes slid closed, entirely at peace.
"Yeah, that sounds good to me."

Doe Eyes - CH5 - Gone
Chapter List
Tumblr media
        Brandy had a really bad coughing fit below you on her cot, and when you peaked your aching, feverish head over the side, you saw that she was coughing up blood.
        "Shit, Brandy!" You gasped, hopping down and comforting your friend. You didn't know what to do about it. Dr. S was busy with someone else, someone who was doing much worse than either of you, so all you could do was rub her back and hold her. "You better not fuckin' die on me, girl." You whispered.
        "You're not getting rid of me that easily." She retorted.
        More and more sick prison dwellers filed into D Block. You called out for Dr. S  a few times. Eventually he made it over to you, but he wasn't looking so good himself.
        "We don't have any medicine to treat your symptoms." He rasped, holding his side as he leaned against the bars. "Daryl is leading a group on a run. There's a veterinary clinic nearby, they will have medication."
        "Okay." You nodded. "I hope they hurry."
----
        Tyreese stayed to take watch over all the sick ones, especially after what happened to his girl. With Sasha in D Block, he had to make sure the killer didn't come back for anyone.
        Brandy had only gotten worse. Her bed was stained with the blood she had coughed up. You took careful breaths, trying to avoid the coughing fits. You told yourself over and over that it was mind over matter.
        When Hershel came in with his elderberry remedies you were relieved. He was right, it helped. The wonders of natural medicine, you supposed. Even Brandy in her poor state seemed a little better after he gave her some. Her coughing seemed to ease up, and personally your fever and aches seemed to cool down a bit.
        It was days before they made it back with the medicine, and days after that before the virus had cleared out. Brandy was still weak but her symptoms had dissipated. You were taking her for a walk around the courtyard when everyone was finally let out of quarantine. There was a lot of work to be done, burying all of the ones who succumbed to the virus.
        After your walk you took Brandy to lay her down and rest. Since you were feeling fine, you went to help bury bodies and tend the garden.
        "How ya feelin'?" A husky voice asked from behind you. You turned away from the grave you were digging to see Daryl there, wiping his hands with a red cloth.
        "Uh, fine. Brandy's still, you know, not so great, but.. We're fine." You nodded.
        "I'm, uh, goin' out to hunt." He said.
        "Oh." You nodded. "Cool."
        "Yeah. I'm, uh, glad you 'n' your friend are alright." He said, before he spun around and left. You shook your head and went back to work. You were too tired to try and understand whatever that was. You'd be sure to tell Brandy about it when you went back to your cell later, though. She was an expert in all things male, so she'd surely know.
----
        "Which one is Daryl again? The cute scruffy one?" Brandy asked.
        "Crossbow guy." You told her, unwilling to admit that he was indeed attractive.
        "Oh, yeah. Cute scruffy one." She nodded. "And that's all he said?"
        "Yup." You shrugged. It was late afternoon now. The two of you were just eating some greens from the garden and hydrating yourselves. You were exhausted from gravedigging all day and she was just groggy.
        "He's definitely sweet on one of us." She declared.
        "What?" You scoffed. "'Cause he  asked if we were okay?"
        "Mhm. Scruffy types don't do that unless they're after something." She said, matter of fact.
        "Whatever." You laughed, shaking your head.
        "Well, if you didn't think it was possible, why'd you ask?" She raised her eyebrows at you and wiggled them.
        "Shut up." You smirked.
        "Uh-huh. He's sweet on one of us. I just hope it's me." She admitted. You laughed at her.
        "I'm sure it is." You told her. "You're like a redneck supermodel."
        "I am not a redneck!" She gawked.
        "Yeah, you're just the farmer's daughter, right?" You teased.
        "Okay, you know what? I think I'd like to go take a shower now." She said, getting up off the bottom bunk where you both sat.
        "Yeah, just run away!" You called after her, stifling a laugh.
        You jumped when the prison shook, debris falling from the ceiling shook. Dust and debris rained down. You took momentary shelter under the top bunk before you jumped up, grabbing your gun and your crowbar as you did. When you made it outside, Daryl pulled you behind a wall. You looked at him with confusion before you peeked around the corner.
        "A fucking tank?!" You breathed. It was sitting outside the gates, at the tip of a V formation of cars. As Rick went down to talk to them, you recognized the black eyepatch in the distance. "Shit!" You hissed. "I gotta go get Brandy."
        "Tell everyone to get ready to get on the bus." Daryl told you. You nodded before you sprinted back inside. You ran through the cellblocks shouting.
        "Everyone pack what you can and get ready to get on the bus!" You repeated. You ignored the questions as you ran for the showers. You ran right into a wet haired Brandy. "Brandy. C'mon. We gotta go." You panted.
        "What? Why?" She shook her head. "What the hell was that? An earthquake?"
        "No! There's a fucking tank outside! The Governor! Stop wasting time!" You were growing impatient as you began to tug her by the arm. She followed, stumbling on her feet. You two made it back to the cell and began throwing everything you could in your backpacks before you ran outside. Rick and the Governor were still talking, but now you realized he had Hershel at his knees, a sword to his neck. Come to think of it, it was a katana, and Michonne was on her knees right next to him.
        You and Brandy froze and watched. It seemed deathly silent. Then, in the blink of an eye, the Governor raised Michonne's katana and sliced into Hershel's neck. Time froze. Your heart dropped. Screams erupted, right before the gunfire. The battle had begun. You whipped your head around until your eyes found a rifle and you picked it up and started shooting aimlessly. Anything to help, you guessed.
        But when the tank and the cars pushed through the fence you knew it was over. The gunfire alone would draw in a horde, and you were all simply out numbered and outgunned.
        "Brandy, we have to get to the bus now!" You urged her. When you shook her and she didn't budge, you realized her face had grown a little pale.
        "Oh no." Your eyes widened as you looked down. Her hands rested over her stomach, blood seeping through the fabric and coating her fingers. "No!" You cried out. "No no no no!"
        Brandy dropped down to her knees, blood leaking out of her mouth as she cowered over in pain. She didn't say a word, but she didn't have to. Her eyes were full of fear and defeat. She knew, and so did you. It was over.
        You held her close and sobbed as her breaths became more labored and her gurgling grew louder, If the bleeding didn't kill her, she'd surely drown in her own blood.
        "Brandy I'm so sorry." You cried. "I should have told you to wait inside -- I -- I -- Brandy?" You pulled away and looked at her face. She was silent, she was motionless, she was gone. "No!" You shrieked, over and over.
        "C'mon!" Daryl called out, yanking you up by your arm. "She's gone! We gotta go!" He told you, shaking you by the shoulders to bring you back to reality. Beth ran up.
        "I was tryin' to find the kids to get 'em on the bus." She said.
        "C'mon, both of you, we gotta go."
        And that's how it was. For hours, days, weeks. Just the three of you, wandering place to place, hunting, scavenging, surviving in uncomfortable silence.

- ANNOUCEMENT -
Tumblr media
----------
Hello everyone!! How are you doing?
This is not a bad news annoucement, just an informative one, 'cause I have to apologize (again) for my long absence in september... it wasn't intended but it was what it was...
As I told you in my "coming soon post" from september, in that month there was going to be less content than usual, but things got really complicated at home and I couldn't post more than 1 posepack even tho i already had the packs ready to be released.
The thing is, right now I have 4 kittens at home, one of them is the mom and we decided to sterilized her a couple of weeks ago and it went pretty good but then her wound opened and she had some bad complications... It's my first time having kittens at home and it was my first time treating a sterilization but she is better now, tho she is still recovering... but I had to take a lot of care of her and beside that, one of the other kittens got sick with a flu and then, after he got better with the flu, that same kitten and another one got sick with diarrea, one of them more that the other, and i have been taking care of them as well... giving them the treatments, keeping them hydrated and clean and all that. So yeah, thats the main reason i haven't had the time to be around here. They have been taking a looooot of my time and i wasn't able to even sit in my desk. Fortunatelly, they are doing better now... But beside all that, these last few days i have been sick too at a point where i couldn't even get up from my bed.... so, a LOT reasons i haven't been around...
Today I'm still sick but I'm feeling a little bit better, so I have been finally able to report and make this annoucement for you all.
I guess I'll be totally fine by tomorrow 'cause it seems like a 5 days virus (my mom had it last week) And I'm happy for that 'cause i HATE with all my soul being sick haha...
---
This month is simblreen, as you know. And as I told you before, I'll be joining this year again with a few (A loooot) fantasy/halloweenesque posepacks, so don't worry, this month I'll compensate my absence from last month. I have looot of ideas to share with you all and it is my fave time of year to make poses...
But first of all, this week I'll be releasing all 4 posepacks i couldn't post last month due to all that happened. Then I'll be posting the usual "coming soon" post and after that I'll be publishing a few packs here on patreon as my usual posts apart from the gifts that will be part of simblreen on the corresponding dates on tumblr.
In another hand, for those who are waiting a commission posepack, I'll be working on them on the next days, so wait for them in a few days as well... I trully apologize for the delay... but my forced absence was not something i planned...
---
And now, without much more to say, I'll leave you for today. See you tomorrow with a brand new posepack.
DAG, DAG!!!

When did midwestern au Clarke realise she’s in love with Lexa?
When she had the flu 🥺
It'd been coming on for awhile - the realization, not the virus.
For months it'd been like 'Ah man. Ah jeez... I think I might be actually really legit falling for this sexy little weirdo. What the hell is in the water in this town?'
Because, ya know, she'd really been getting to see Lexa as person beyond just the woman who liked to flirt and take her out for the evening. She got to see the way Lexa reached out and had a hand in how her community thrived. She saw that Lexa did things like check in on elderly neighbors who had no one else to look after them, and how she helped do little fundraiser events that went to the little town school for things like new books and free lunches. She saw that when first big snowfall happened, Lexa was right out there with her shovel, directing all the boys with their pickup plows to clear the streets while she wrangled up a few others to hell her clear out the sidewalks and driveways. (Seeing those rosy red cheeks and that stupid beanie hat. Feeling the chill of Lexa's frosty-tipped nose when she kissed her after she was done digging Clarke's car out. All of thag certainly didn't help her cause for keeping this whole thing relatively casual either.)
She was just Lexa. And after awhile Clarke realized that being Lexa meant being so many different things to so many people. She was peacekeeper among rivals and heavy-fisted diplomat among hot heads, teacher and advisor to the younger ones looking toward a future outside of the town limits. She was friend and confidant to the lonely, and caregiver to the all but forgotten. She was all that on top of being a goofy ass drunk who liked to get handsy while dancing to the sappiest gd country songs Clarke's ever heard in her life. And somehow none of that really seemed at odds with the fact that she liked to stay up late in the quiet after sex just to talk and listen and share ideas with Clarke about books and art and philosophy.
Falling in love with Lexa wasn't a revelation or any one singular aha moment. It was a million moments that stacked together. It was a process of falling for all the different pieces of her.
So to be honest Clarke was already pretty damn far gone on this girl by the time she got walloped with one of the worst flus she'd had in her entire adult life. But then Lexa showed up on her doorstep a little past noon, face tight with worry and hands filled with supplies.
And for as much as Clarke hates to be coddled- doubly so when she's sick - it's an entirely losing battle trying to assure Lexa's that she's fine when she's pale enough to give Casper a run for his money and so congested that just the trip from the couch to the door has left her winded. Besides, she's got a Tupperware container of homemade soup in one hand, and a full case of pedialyte that Clarke knows she must've driven at least 35 minutes just to get in the other.
So she lets her girlfriend do all her girlfriend-things without much of an argument. But it... it really does change everything, without actually changing anything. There's nothing earth shattering about Lexa bringing over the sweater Clarke always likes to steal from her whenever she spends the night. There's nothing particularly exceptional about her girlfriend adjusting the thermostat to the perfect temp and gathering up every blanket and pillow she owns and creating a nest next her little fan so Clarke can adjust at any moment if she feels too hot or too cold.
But there is something about the little pinch between Lexa's brows while she stubbornly checks Clarke's temperature every now and then. And there's the something about how, despite Clarke's dry and chapped lips and the probable dried snot under nose, Lexa still giving her little kisses. There is definitely something about remembering on day three that Lexa was supposed to have been out of town that entire weekend. Finding out that she had left work a day early with a note for no one to bother her, and then canceled her plans to go ice fishing with her friends just to stay laid up with Clarke instead.
"They'll be fine without me," was all she said when Clarke emerged from her disease ridden haze long enough to ask what happened to her trip. "I wanted to be here if you needed me... I like taking care of you, Clarke."
She'd said it so casually. Like it really was just that simple. As though it was no big deal that she'd blown off people she'd known her entire life just to be a certified Kleenex wrangler and back rubbing aficionado whenever Clarke got wracked with a particularly nasty cough.
That was kind of it. After that Clarke stopped thinking about them in terms of 'for now's and maybes and what-ifs down the line, and actually started thinking about what kind of life they were going to build together. Cuz if that girl could kiss her and still look at her like she was the sun, moon, and stars all while having dried up snot on her nose? It was lost cause. Clarke was done for. She was keepin her.

ES Journeys Main Cast: Sunshine the Eevee
Hey, hey everyone! I'm back once again to talk about another character of the ES Journeys main cast. This post will be about Sunshine.
Remember that the main thing you should know about my version of the cast is that they are supposed to be as closely accurate to how they were in the comic in terms of personality and backstory as possible while also changing things to improve them by adding, removing, or expanding things about them.
Now without further ado, here's Journeys Sunshine.
(Note: Not everything is fully fleshed out. These are just the main ideas I have and am currently trying to flesh out)
Sunshine This Eevee is known for a few things like constantly saying "aye" which EV said was based on Happy of Fairy Tail, being the adopted daughter of Speed, calling Lazuli and Silvia "mommy", wanting to evolve into a Sylveon, and being shipped with Axel.
Sunshine I honestly didn't care for a lot since she wasn't that interesting. Yeah she had a thing with a Victini named Chill but that barely was brought up and the story of how they met is in a journal. There's also that thing with Alan and being the cause of the virus and wish to happen but I honestly don't give a crap because it's the virus and timeline junk. She goes to school in the after story journal and stuff but that's in a journal. Her and Speed have a bond but I don't see it or feel it since I see Sunshine hangout with Lazuli and Silvia more in the comic. Overall I just felt like she wasn't that interesting since she was just the adorable Eevee character who calls Lazuli and Silvia "mommy" for shipping purposes. It also doesn't help she was shafted to the side like the other half of the cast who aren't Speed, Flare, Lazuli, or Silvia. I have stuff for Sunshine for ES Journeys.
Personality Sunshine is a young Eevee who loves to play and have fun with other Pokemon but is shy when meeting new Pokemon. Due to being really young she can be quite naive and doesn't know a lot about the things and the world around her which the members of the Eeveelution Squad would often have to explain to her.
Sunshine is a comforting Pokemon who makes others smile even when they're feeling down. She cares deeply about her friends and family and does her best to support them up which she does several times with the Eeveelutions Squad and Axel. She values the bonds she makes with friends and family.
Sunshine looks up to the members of the Eeveelution Squad which is both a good thing and a bad thing. She thought the members of the team were so amazing as brave and strong Pokemon and believed in them with winning their battles. She's said multiple times that she wanted to be like them which they were flattered. Sunshine's behavior is sometimes influenced by them so times when she is brave is because of them but times when she is reckless or does something foolish is also because of them.
When it comes to battling, Sunshine thought it was amazing watching the members of the Eeveelution Squad battling but when they get hurt or are getting beaten up badly she gets worried and starts crying. As she grew up she stopped crying as she believed in them and knew they would get through in the end with their battles. As for actual battling for herself she's fine with it though at first she was hesitant until after watching Speed battle a bunch of times during the team's Kanto journey..
Moves, Ability, and Battle Style Sunshine in this AU is much stronger than her comic self due to watching and receiving training from everyone of the Eeveelution Squad. Her battle style is mostly basic but at times Sunshine uses the same battle styles and techniques the Eeveelution Squad use for their battles.
Sunshine is not a normal Eevee as she is capable of using moves from each of her evolution forms without evolving into them. She can do this because Sunshine's genes are more unstable than a normal Eevee's. In order to make Sunshine not OP with her being able to use moves from her evolution forms, I had Sunshine be restricted to learning the Eevee Partner Moves from Let's Go Eevee. Sunshine learns each Partner Move by bonding with a member of the Eeveelution Squad based on their type (Ex: Bonding with Speed has Sunshine learn Buzzy Buzz) and then names the move. The Partner Moves symbolize her bond with each member of the team.
Sunshine has a wide array of moves of many Types. Her movelist and when they're learned: -Tackle (TB) -Swift (TB) -Buzzy Buzz (TB) -Bouncy Bubble (OI) -Sizzly Slide (OI) -Glitzy Glow (GS) -Sappy Seed (DP) -Freezy Frost (DP) -Baddy Bad (DP) -Helping Hand (BW) -Sparkly Swirl (XY) -Baby-Doll Eyes (XY) -Double Kick (SM) -Quick Attack (SM) -Last Resort (SM) -Extreme Evoboost (SM; Z-Move) -Max Strike (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Geyser (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Flare (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Mindstorm (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Darkness (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Overgrowth (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Hailstorm (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Starfall (SWSH; Dynamax)
Sunshine's ability is Adaptability. This ability increases the power of her moves that are the same type as her which is Normal-Type.
Sunshine's Backstory In 2011 on May 30th, Sunshine's egg was found in a rundown house outside of Sunny Town. The egg was found by Speed the Jolteon, Crystal the Vaporeon, and Solarflare the Flareon who were out on a walk until Crystal decided to check out the house with Speed and Flare following her. When Speed touches the egg it hatched and Sunshine was born. She assumed Speed was her dad and called him that since he was the first thing she saw but he tells her he's not. The three siblings took Sunshine back with them to Sunny Town and when they brought her to the orphanage the mother had her stay in their room since she was fond of them more, specifically Speed.
During Sunshine's early days in the orphanage she was very shy when it came to interacting with the other kids living there. She mostly hung out with Speed, Crystal, and Flare but she eventually interacts and plays with the other kids after being reassured by the siblings and the mother of the orphanage. Sunshine would call Speed "daddy", Crystal "auntie", and Flare "uncle" for some time but because Speed and Crystal didn't like what she was calling them for their own reasons they had her call them "big brother" and "big sister". Despite calling them something else now, Sunshine would still call Speed "daddy" occasionally and he responds by telling her that she can call him that when they're alone.
In 2014, Sunshine overheard Speed, Crystal, and Flare talking about traveling Kanto and asked them about it. When they told her that they'll be leaving orphanage and won't come back for a long time, Sunshine asked if she can come with them. Speed was quick to deny her from tagging along but after some convincing from Crystal he allowed her to come along.
On April 1, 2014, Sunshine tagged along with Speed, Crystal, and Flare as they begin their journey as a competitive battling team.
Sunshine's Journey From The Beginning-Battle Frontier, Sunshine is your typical adorable character who has cute moments and stuff. Since she's so young she gets to learn things about the world as she travels with the Eeveelution Squad across the regions. She doesn't get much development but she does bond with each member of the Eeveelution Squad which results in her learning each Partner Move
In XY, Sunshine stays mostly the same as the previous series but she eventually looks after a Zygarde Cell (She has the role of Bonnie from the XY anime)
In Sun & Moon, Sunshine attends the Pokemon School with Axel. She has a group of friends she made in the school. Sunshine goes through a trial in Alola where she helps each Eeveelution (Not the Eeveelutions from the Eeveelution Squad) that would lead to her getting the Eevium Z-Crystal. At some point, Sunshine will start thinking about her parents and will get the chance to meet them thanks to Tapu Fini. Sunshine will fall in love with the Alola region along with its traditions and Pokemon in it.
In Sword & Shield, Sunshine and Axel are left behind in Kanto to attend school in Vermilion City while the Eeveelution Squad go to Galar to compete in the Galar League. Sunshine has another group of friends in this school which are the Pokemon from the after story journal. While in school, Sunshine deals with being popular for being the Eevee who was with the Eeveelution Squad and also other school issues.
In Master Journeys, Sunshine along with Axel are either in school still or joining the Eeveelution Squad on their adventures across the world. Sunshine questions what she wants to be in the future in terms of her evolution. She becomes friends with Koharu (The girl with Ash and Goh in Pokemon Journeys) and the two help each other with what they want to be in the future with Sunshine helping her decide her future career and Koharu helping her decide what she wants to evolve into.
That is all for Journeys Sunshine for now. What do you think of her? Leave your thoughts for me to read. Next post will be about Journeys Pearl which will happen later, maybe. Until then, bye!

A Remi x Levi Non-Canon Fic
Snz Fic
⚠️Content Warning⚠️
Contagion risk, Sneeze Fet & Smut
Tumblr media
Author’s Notes: Geezie is always throwing really good prompt ideas at me and despite my responsibility to 5000 other drafts I have in the making, I take them. Cause I love her. This prompt was written by @coldshare with a smutty twist 😈 Enjoy! @aller-geez did the cover art and owns Remi and Meeko!
Description:
Tumblr media
Levi and Remi walked into the atrium of the mall, standing calmly next to the running fountain. Remi, anxiously searching around for their sisters that were supposed to be with them here shortly. Levi on the other hand cursing himself inwardly as he was realizing, something was quite wrong. His nose was unusually prickly, itchy. His head felt hot, and his body felt cold. Remi glanced over at Levi, noticing he wasn't acting quite like his usual self. The cat was quiet, a bit reserved, and kept rubbing his sleeve against his nose, it was starting to get noticeably red. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, placing a hand on his forehead to check his temperature.
Levi pulled away from his touch swiftly, if there was one person he didn't need knowing he was sick, it was definitely Remi. "I'm fine," he muttered clearing his throat suddenly to flash the wolf a convincing grin amongst his flushed face, though he knew that wasn't entirely true. He could feel the effects of his heat starting to take hold, and he didn't want to ruin this lovely outing they had planned with their sisters.
But Remi wasn't convinced. "You don't look fine," he replied, concern etched on his face. "Maybe we should find somewhere to sit down? Do you need some water maybe?"
Levi nodded reluctantly, not wanting to cause a scene in the middle of the mall. Together, they made their way to a nearby bench, and Levi collapsed onto it, his body feeling weaker by the second.
Remi knelt down beside him, placing a hand on his arm. "What's wrong?" He asked, his voice gentle and soothing.
Levi considered just flat out telling him, but he couldn't because as soon as he went to open his mouth, Meeko and Connie walked up with cheerful faces and brightly lit up eyes.
"Rem! Lee!" the ginger haired girl bounced up to them wrapping her arms around the back of Remi's waist, squeezing him softly. "Im sooo excited we get to spend the day together!" pulling away now and looking over in Levi's direction, noticing him at a much lower decibel than she was used to.
"Hey is everything okay?" she asked gently, her eyes now filled with cautious concern as she looked him over. Levi tried to force a smile but it came out weak and unconvincing. "I'm just feeling a little under the weather," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Meeko's expression softened with empathy. "Oh no, Lee, you should have told us. We could have rescheduled our outing for another day."
Remi chimed in, "Yeah, we could have gone to the movies instead. It's not worth it for you to push through your sickness and ruin the day for yourself."
Levi shook his head. He didn't want to disappoint his sisters or ruin their plans. "It's fine, really. I'll be okay."
But as soon as Levi tried to stand up, his legs wobbled and he felt lightheaded. He clutched onto the bench for support.
Meeko and Connie immediately rushed to his side, helping him sit back down. "We need to get you some help," Meeko insisted. Levi's own sister looking at him with studious look, she'd never gotten to see her brother sick before. She couldn't definitively be sure it was a virus or if he just maybe ate something bad.
Levi shook his head, gathering himself and taking a deep breath, despite the burning ache in his body, and the growing itch in his throat, he was not going to cancel. He would be damned. He stood up now, much more confident, and with a better resolve this time. "Seriously guys, I'm fine...let's just get to browsing! There's lots of shops I want to hit up,"
The sisters looked at each other, before turning to Remi for confirmation. He smiled and gave a small nod. "I think it's alright, as long as Levi is sure he can make it." With that, the four of them decided to put the whole incident aside and continue on with their plans.
The group made their way through the mall, peeking into various shops they passed by and admiring all sorts of items. Meeko was already picking out clothes she wanted while Connie was looking around for any good deals. As they walked along, Levi tried to keep up with everyone else despite his body feeling heavier than usual. He kept suppressing the urge to sneeze every now and then but he did his best not to show it on his face. They had just stepped into a high-end jewelry store when Levi felt his heat coming on full force. His body was now burning up, and he couldn't stop his nose from twitching. He knew he couldn't keep up the facade much longer. He stumbled slightly, grabbing onto Remi's arm for support.
"Something's wrong," he muttered, his voice strained.
Meeko and Connie turned around, noticing Levi's condition had worsened. The leopard stepped into the space with his boyfriend and leaned his weakened face against the wolf's bicep. "H-h...HiH..." he hicked and stuttered, he could feel it building deep inside his nostrils, the forcible tickle that had been taunting him for the last several minutes, it was coming. Remi immediately knew what was happening. He had heard and seen this before and had prepared himself to handle the situation if it ever arose in such a setting. He wrapped an arm around Levi's waist, pulling him close. "It's okay," he whispered into his ear. "Just let it out."
Levi's body shook as he let out a loud sneeze, "Hh'Etshu!" followed by another "eh-TSHU!" and another "Eh'ehTSHU!". Each one echoed through the store, drawing attention from the other shoppers. Meeko and Connie rushed over to them, trying to help in any way they could. Remi trying to hide the evident blush across his face, arousal imminent towards his sickly mate. Feeling his partner blow into the side of his arm, feeling the leopard's sickly nose rub against his t-shirt fabric, it was so much in such little time, something so innocent to others, but so naughty to him. It took the wolf all his strength to keep it together as a small bead of sweat dripped down the side of his temple.
As Levi's sneezing fit finally came to an end, he looked up at Remi with a sheepish expression. "Sobby," he snuffled, pulling back to rub his sleeve across his slightly dripping nose.
Remi just smiled at him, rubbing his back soothingly. "Don't be sorry...you sure you don't want to go home and lay down?" He asked hopeful the man would say yes but the leopard simply shook his head.
"No, serioudly, I'b okay," his heated face looking up at the wolf with such sincerity it almost broke his heart to even try to argue with him. He knew how much time with their sisters meant to him, so he wouldn't push it. No matter how desperately he wanted to get his cat back home and under some real care.
With that, the group quickly exited the store, walking back through the mall as Meeko chatted on and on about the different things she'd seen around them mall. It was almost enough of a distraction, as Levi found himself still suffering with residual tickles. God he just wanted this to end, his nose dripping more as the build increased, the cat desperately rubbing at his nose. Remi sliding his gaze through the side to capture the struggling man, cheeks raising in heat as he witnessed his adorable mate suffer.
Levi's face contorted as he tried to hold back another making its way through his sinuses. But it was no use. His body shook as he let out another soft, wet sneeze. "T'cHiEw!!" he blew, his nose now fully congested and leaking. He sniffled, wiping at his nose with the back of his hand, but it only made it worse. He could feel his nose getting itchier by the second.
Remi's eyes were fixed on Levi's every move, watching him struggle. A part of him was worried about his partner's health, but another part of him couldn't help but feel a twinge of arousal at the sight of his leopard sneezing and sniffling while they walked together so casually in public like this. He tried to push those thoughts aside, focusing on helping Levi instead.
His fingers squeezed around the leopard’s hand reassuring him that he was still right there for him, and that they could go home at any moment he wanted. Levi responded with a softer squeeze, the wolf knowing that this was nothing more than another. 'Im fine' response.
"Bless you!" Meeko looked over at Levi suddenly, with a tender smile. "You sure are having a rough one today, Lee," feeling terrible for her brother in law.
Levi's face turned even redder at his sister's comment. He knew they were all worried about him, but he didn't want to ruin their day any further. "I'll be okay," he assured her, trying to sound convincing.
But he couldn't shake off the feeling of discomfort in his body. His head was pounding, his throat was sore, and his nose was running like a faucet. He sneezed again, to the side this time, "Eh'ehTSHU!!", another one followed by a wet sniffle. It was getting harder and harder to ignore the fact that he was sick.
"Okay, let's at least get the kid some tissues, he's really going off over here," Remi chuckled sheepishly, still fighting off the terribly insistent urge to drag his partner into a nearby bathroom stall and fuck the virus out of his mate's fragile body. No, he had to be sane, stable, selfless. The group stopped at a nearby kiosk, looking over the different items before the wolf scouted a travel size pack of tissues. Levi gratefully took the tissues, immediately blowing his nose into them while Remi took the time to pay. He could feel his whole body trembling with the effort of holding back the sneezes that kept bubbling up within him. His nose was running uncontrollably now, and he blew it again and again, the wet sound echoing in the quiet space.
Remi leaned in close, his lips brushing against Levi's ear. "Do you want to go home now, love?" he asked, his voice low and gentle.
Levi shook his head, not wanting to disappoint the rest of the group. But as soon as they started walking again, he felt another sneeze coming on. This one was more powerful than the others. He could feel it building up deep inside him, growing stronger and more insistent with each passing moment.
He tried to hold it back, but it was no use. He sneezed, his whole body shaking with the force of it. "Ehh'TSHU!" soaking through the tiny tissue, forcing him to pull out yet another to dab and wipe his poor sopping nose.
His eyes watered, and he could feel his face getting hotter as he sneezed again and again, each one harder and more wet than the last. "Hhh'TCHU! Eh'TSHU! H'TSHU!"
Remi's grip on his waist returned and tightened, holding him up as his body shook with every sneeze. Meeko and Connie looked at him with concern, but he could see the amusement in their eyes too. It was embarrassing, but he couldn't help it.
Finally, the sneezing fit came to an end. Levi was panting, his nose completely stuffed up and dripping. "S-so S-sobby guyd.." he whimpered weakly, pulling tissue after tissue out of the pack to try and keep up with the spraying, wet messes his body made.
Despite their concerns and their apprehension to even be around the fitting leopard, they continued to walk through the mall. Levi soaking each tissue through the pack as they continued to wonder. Eventually he found himself on his last, sighing with disappointment that he had already gone through so many. All he had left was what he started with, his rough sleeve or his already germed up hand. None the less, he hated having a wet face and he couldn't walk around looking like an unkempt toddler.
Meeko went back to gabbing on about different topics, trying to keep the momentum alive. "You know, Annie's cinnamon pretzel is actually the best one they have, it's the perfect combination of sweet and salty!" giggling as she wondered aimlessly along side her family.
"I don't know, I'd rather get pizza than a pretzel, no matter the ratio..." the wolf grumbled loosely, still fighting his own demons beside his sickly boyfriend. As Levi was struggling with a much more painful tickle that he had previously, Meeko spotted a rather large photo booth. She grabbed both Connie and Remi by the wrist. "Oh my gosh you guys! We HAVE to go take a photo!" looking back at the group who could only return Meeko's excitement with apprehensive groans and side eyes.
"Oh you insecure lot, you! Stop that! Photos are good memories," The ginger girl giggled dragging her family over, Remi having a tight grip still on his sickly cat. As they approached the large machine, the cat felt his nerves rising to the surface. Oh no. They weren't really going to make him take a photo looking like this, right?!
Levi tried to back out, but Meeko was having none of it. She shoved him into the booth, already selecting the background and props. "Come on, sneezy boy, we need a good family photo!" she teased, holding up a pair of kitten ears for him to wear.
Levi groaned, feeling ridiculous. He was sick, his nose was running as well as terribly red, and he looked like a mess. He didn't want to take a photo like this. The four of them cramped up inside this thing, Levi mushed up in between Remi and Connie, Meeko on the other side of Connie. Before he could protest any further, he watched as the timer on the screen started, it was too late. The best he could do now was try his absolute best to hold in the earth shattering sneeze that was desperate to burst out of him. His small frame trembled, as he stared blankly ahead, almost in a trance as he tried his ever best to keep it in. "H-h.." he started, after the first flash of their photos, oh god...
During the timing of the second Levi took his opportunity to quickly rub his nose in circles, a small light clicking sound echoing the space. Remi's breath hitched and he did his best to pose with a stoic smile, lifeless eyes. Being in such a small space with his little ticking time bomb was almost proving too much to handle. 'Think of sad things....think of gross things....anything....just don't draw any attention to it..' his mind racing to keep his lust at bay.
The leopard quickly pulled his arm down, but the stinging flash of the second photo was proving only to make things ten times worse. Between photos he continued to rub and wipe his consistently wet nostrils, only breaking away long enough to be caught in a hazy gaze by the time the pictures were taken. Four had gone, by and the increase of pressure inside his sinuses only grew exponentially. It was coming out whether he liked it or not. However, he just prayed he could get through this last photo. As the count down started, Levi's breath hitched in his throat, 'Oh please no...' he panicked inwardly.
The symptoms continued, 2...Levi's eyes squinted and his eyebrows raised, 3...his nostrils flared and the leopard started to turn his head to the side. It was no use. The cat pushed forward, his small hands unable to cover his face in time as his nose exploded, a loud, wet, SPLOT sound echoing in the space as he sniffled and shuddered in his seat. FLASH. "Hah- hah- hhAHH - hhd-HAHH'TSCCHhiIIEWW!! HDDT'KTTSCHIiew! hehh... hehh - hEHh - HIIIH'TTTSCHHIIIEEEW!" small particles of sickly salivia floated in the space around them while the pictures slowly developed for printing.
The photo was taken and Levi was left mortified as he rubbed pathetically at his nose. Remi was left wide eyed and with a racing heart rate, his gaze now stuck on the leopard as his cheeks heated up. "J-Jesus..." he whispered in to the awkward silence. Connie and Meeko couldn't help but let out small bursts of nervous laughter.
"Whoa!" the ginger haired girl exclaimed with a breathless chuckle. "I wonder if we caught that on the photo…” pulling the roll out now to hold it back and take a good long look.
"Oh, wow...babe...it's like a live action, slow reenactment," the wolf teased, trying to mask his desire to snatch the photo roll up and run at lightening speed to have some alone time with it. He cleared his throat, as the girls let out a chorus of giggle fits. Levi could feel his own face turning red, partly from embarrassment and partly from the aftermath of the sneezing fit. He knew he looked like a mess, with his nose still dripping and his eyes watery, and he couldn't help but be self-conscious about it. He lifted the edge of his already wet sleeve back to his nose, trying to wipe himself clean, but it was a hopeless task.
As they stepped out of the photo booth, Levi tried to avoid looking at the photos. He didn't want to see himself in that state, and he didn't want anyone else to either. But as Meeko handed him the printout, he had no choice but to glance at it.
The first photo was fine, just the four of them posing with silly props. But the second one...Levi cringed as he saw himself with his hand over his nose, clearly hadn't timed that out too perfectly. And then there was the third one, where he looked absolutely spaced out, slack jawed and hopeless. However the fourth one....oh god the fourth one was his worst nightmare. His face was in full sneeze, you could see particles flying towards the camera, and the genuine reactions of all attending parties was enough to send him to the grave. Remi looked pale, like he had seen a ghost, bright emeralds widened in shock, the only sign of life and color being the bright vermillion blush splashed across his cheeks. Meeko looked surprised, her gaze not at the camera but at her brother in law losing it and slightly horrified, While Connie was totally oblivious and holding up a casual peace sign.
Levi's heart sank as he realized how terrible he looked in the photo. He crumpled it up and handed it back to Meeko. "I don't want this," he muttered, feeling a lump form in his throat. He was already self-conscious about his appearance, and now he had to deal with this embarrassing photo.
Remi noticed Levi's discomfort and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Hey...I think you look absolutely adorable in those photos.." trying to bring some sort of reassurance and confidence back to his sickly boyfriend.
Levi looked up at Remi, surprised by his words. "Really?" he asked, his voice small and uncertain.
Remi nodded, a gentle smile on his lips. "Really," he said, his hand still resting on Levi's shoulder. "You always look adorable to me, no matter what."
Levi felt his heart swell with warmth at Remi's words. He looked at the crumpled photo in Meeko's hand and then back at Remi. "Okay," he said, nodding. "I'll keep it then."
Meeko grinned. "I knew you'd come around," she said, handing the photo back to Levi. "It's a good memory, even if it's a little embarrassing."
Levi nodded, doing his best to straight it back out before tucking the photo into his pocket. As they walked out towards the exit, still giggling and teasing each other, Levi felt grateful for the support of his family and the love of his boyfriend. Even on days when he really should have just stayed home.

Later That Night
Levi was snuggled up in the bed he shared with his lover Remi, finally fighting off the terrible virus he had for surely come down with. He breathed softly through his open mouth, nose too stuffed up to consider breathing through it. Remi, sitting in the chair across from him, found himself finally alone. His mate had only been asleep for roughly 10 minutes, but it was a sure sign he would more than likely stay asleep, which was good, the wolf needed 'me time'. What better way to accomplish that with a new addition of content in his possession. He pulled out the photo roll from earlier that day, his thumb dancing across the stills of his suffering mate. "So beautiful..." he whispered to himself, flashing those emerald eyes up at the sleeping cat to make sure he wouldn't stir.
He continued to hold the photo at a decent level, really scanning and studying the finer details of his mate's previous fits. Gazing upon that little red tipped nose, those glassy cerulean eyes, adorned with silly but very sexy cat ears…it was feeling too much. That familiar heat from previously, returned back into the pit of his stomach. This time, with a plan in place to take care of it. His thumb slowly slid to the hem of his sweatpants, just barely teasing them downward before they snapped back up into place. He stared at the photo for a moment more, before bringing his hand down to his crotch, touching himself through the fabric. His brain had been in overdrive for quite a while now, his thoughts only on his lover and how his body could be used to please him. It was now the perfect time to do something about it.
Levi was a deep sleeper, which was a good thing, since he didn't stir as Remi cautiously pulled down his sweatpants, exposing his engorged member to the cool air. The wolf's hand quickly found its way to the tip of his dick, then began to slowly work it down from the base, keeping his eyes locked on the pictures and his mind on his goal. In small steps, he found a gentle pattern that suited him, he was just starting to hit his stride, when Levi's nose gave a small sneeze. “T-shu!”
Remi paused, suddenly a little alarmed. "Shh shh sh..." he gasped into the open air while slowly pumping his needy shaft to relish in the surprise treat he was just blessed with, allowing it to fuel him.
The cat let out a slight grunt as he shifted in the bed, his nose still clogged up.
"Shh babe, you'll wake up..." Remi whispered, still working away with his own hand. He was getting close now, mere seconds away from a nice, mind numbing orgasm. He could feel the warmth of it building, but just as he was about to let it out, his mate let out another sneeze, followed by a soft groan.
"Hts'chiew! Whu?" Levi mumbled, his eyelids fluttering gently.
Remi froze, not wanting to alert him, but....shit, that really added some ambience to the situation. He sucked in a sharp gasp, pausing as his cock throbbed for the continued pleasure. Remi wasn't a huge fan of edging, but he also didn't want to explain himself to the leopard should those ceruleans peek back open. His gaze returning to his favorite shot on the whole roll, Levi blowing his face wide open. He grunted through a clenched jaw, his hand moving slowly again, not certain Levi was asleep again, or if he wasnt silently watching him, almost praying for the latter.
The cat was definitely in a deep sleep now, and Remi knew he had a chance to finally climax as he added a few new things into his delicate ritual, sucking in a soft gasp as he heard his mate let out another yawn.
Levi shifted in the bed, his nose still slightly clogged up. "Hmm...?" he murmured, his eyes fluttering open. "Rem?" he asked, hands searching around for comfort, realizing he wasn't in bed with the wolf, but by himself.
"Hm?!" Remi gasped into the air, his left hand firmly wrapped around his pulsing shaft, his right gripped tightly to the photographic roll, his fingers still twitching from the sudden break as they held tightly to it.
"Remi?" Levi repeated, sitting up in the bed. "What are you doing?" rubbing his tired blue eyes, trying his best to adjust to the darkness surrounding them.
Remi glanced down, realizing he was now fully exposed, but still unable to move. "Wh-what are you doing?" he asked trying to redirect the conversation, in hopes that Levi's sight hadn't adjusted enough to see him here with his hand on his cock.
Levi looked around the room, his vision still adjusting to the darkness but finally narrowing in on his mate across the room. "I...I was asleep, and then I woke up and you...you were masturbating?" the leopard's voice was soft, barely above a whisper.
Remi let out a soft sigh, realizing he wasn't going to be able to get out of this, no matter how hard he tried. "I-I...I was just..."
Levi swallowed, though still trembling and suffering with a terrible virus, his body flushed with a sudden jolt of arousal. His wolf was pleasing himself? Right across from him?
"Babe..." Remi started as the leopard's eyes shot up now adjusting fully, waiting for him to continue trying not to make it to obvious that he was definitely ogling over Remi's thick hardened shaft. "You are so gorgeous..." the raven haired man spoke softly, working away at his cock once more catching the other's gaze, his eyes not leaving his mate. "I mean...that picture.." his voice was raspy and breathy, unable to finish the thought.
The leopard's heart fluttered in his chest, his nipples instantly hardened under his pajama top. The picture. The one in his hand. He'd been hating it all day and now Remi was saying...oh god. "Remi.." He gasped out, a nervous shiver suddenly going down his spine. Remi...was hard...because of him? Because he looked at him in that picture?
"God I love hearing you say my name..." he let out a rough exhale of air as his body began to relax again, his emerald greens gazing over Levi's soft features in the moonlight. The cat felt compelled to join... he wanted to help still, despite how terrible he felt. Never breaking their gaze, Levi slowly slid himself out of the bed and carried his body over to the man, immediately falling to his knees in front of him. "B-Baby?" the wolf questioned curiously as his hand never ceased to rub at his aching length.
Levi shuddered in anticipation, his glassy blue eyes still watching the hand on his mate's swollen, throbbing erection. "Neither of us are feeling well...and neither of us can move much...so this is something we'll both enjoy."
Remi gulped hard and he was almost certain he stopped breathing completely. "F-Fuck...you're so good to me.." he whispered with a shaky breath, his picture grasping hand suddenly falling to the side.
The leopard leaned forward, his face now less than an inch away from Remi's twitching cock. "Shh...just relax..." he whispered, his gentle, warm breath brushing Remi's sensitive flesh in a way that made the wolf shiver deeply.
Levi felt like an animal with a taste of blood in his mouth now, he couldn't stop himself as he slowly leaned forward, his eyes locked on that twitching tip begging for his attention. He inched his tongue out, slipping it between his lips. Doing his best to ignore the sudden sting behind his nose. He wouldn't allow his cold to ruin pleasing his partner, that's for sure.
Remi stared with lidded eyes, unable to believe what was happening now. His mate. On his knees. Right in front of him. His tongue licking over his cock. He was utterly speechless as he watched Levi's mouth take in his throbbing, aching dick. He couldn't help himself, his hands flew to the top of the leopard's head, running through his soft hair, fingers twining in it as he let out soft whimpering sounds, his hips thrusting forward gently.
It was a slow process, Levi's tongue lapping at Remi's cock with a gentle rhythm, his saliva dripping as he licked the length of it, unable to take it all in. The wolf gripped Levi's hair tightly, letting out small moans of pleasure.
Levi parted his lips and took the taut head of his lover into his mouth, his tongue rubbing against it as he sucked on the engorged flesh, his eyes staring up at his lover's face twisted in pleasure. It was almost enough of a distraction, but soon the leopard found himself quickly pulling his mouth off Remi's cock, with the forceful urge taking over his entire face, he sneezed. Hard. "H'ehTSHU!!"
Remi's eyes shot wide as he felt a hot spray of droplets explode against his cock, he could feel the heat of it in his mouth, a few of the droplets reaching his chest and he couldn't help but to let out a lustful groan, pulling Levi closer by his hair, his mate’s sore leaking nose rubbing against his twitching length. "You...have no idea...how hot that was.." he said through gritted teeth, his own hand now reaching down to grasp his swelling shaft and slapping it aggressively over Levi's flushed cheeks with an echoing smacking sound.
Levi looked up at Remi with a gentle moan as he melted into the wolf’s actions, his watering eyes now slid up to make contact. "I...I'm sorry..." he sniffled softly, wiping his nose with his sleeve as he looked embarrassed.
"Don't be," the wolf whispered hotly into the air, dragging the leopard's mouth back over to his cock.
Levi couldn't help but blush in pleasure, his wolf being so forceful, and coming undone at the seams over his silly little cold, it was enough to get the little leopard hungry for more. Before he could think, he'd taken Remi's cock back into his mouth, his tongue twirling around the sensitive head slowly, moving the loose skin up and down as he sucked and licked.
Remi let loose a shaky gasp, his bent legs starting to tremble. "Oh fuck...baby...god that mouth..." he said with a raspy voice, thrusting his hips forward sporadically. "I-I-I'm so close.." he whispered, his body tensing as he came closer to climax.
The leopard pulled off Remi's cock again, his tongue twirling around it as he flattened it against Remi's shaft, using his saliva to help him move faster, the tip of his tongue rubbing against the sensitive ridge under the head, whimpering each time he hit the bundle of nerves.
"Oh fuck...yeah.." Remi moaned out, gasping as he used his free hand to stroke Levi's cheek softly. His body was shaking with a need that was begging to be fulfilled. "L-Levi...I-I'm close..." he said, his body trembling with desire as he felt the pressure building up in his balls. The tip of his erection pulsing and throbbing as his need to cum increased.
Levi's ears twitched when he heard the familiar sounds of his lover's lustful noises. He whimpered in response, his tongue moving faster against the head of Remi's cock, his eyes widening in sudden realization, a sneeze coming on. He was determined to hold it in, just long enough....maybe?
"Huh?!" Remi let out a sudden cry of surprise as he felt Levi pull from his cock, continuing to use his hand to pump and stroke the swollen length. However, he wasn't going to be able to hold back the inevitable as the leopard's face twisted and scrunched, he held in a deep breath, but it was no use. His eyes pooling over and his nostrils bringing that damn sting forward to the surface, he blew across Remi's cock once more but at this same moment, the wolf could tell his mate was going to do this. In that time of the cat struggling to keep it all at bay, it was only bringing him closer to the edge.
At the same moment Levi let out a loud, room echoing sneeze "EH-TSHU!" Spraying a mess of saliva across the wolf's groin, Remi too, let loose and a ribbon of cum splashed it's way across the little cat's stuffy and reddened features.
"SHIT..." he said with a forceful gasp, his whole body lurched forward as his orgasm hit him like a freight train, his vision black with little stars. Levi left stunned by the sudden mess that decorated his face sitting back, frozen in place. “Sorry…” Remi cleared his throat nervously, grabbing a tshirt off the ground and immediately helping Levi clean his dirty face.
“D-did you like that?” The smaller bit his lower lip, still gazing up at his boyfriend with those innocent blue orbs.
“Absolutely, fuck…probably the best blowjob ever,” he chuckled breathlessly before trying to peel himself up off the chair. “You go back to bed okay? I’ll join you in a second, I just gotta clean up,” he said sweetly, extending a hand out to help his mate get back on his feet. Taking the helping hand, the leopard yawned loudly, the feeling of exhaustion washing over him once more.
“Okay don’t be too long though…” he said, hesitant to let go of the wolf’s hand.
“Promise,” nodding his head in a matter-of-factly type of way, he kissed the sickly man on his head and quickly made his way to the restroom, making quick work of the clean up so he could return to his incapacitated, but still very naughty kitten.
The end.

Snippet Sunday
It's been a looong time, but chapter 11 of Love and Rage is very close to being done! I took some liberties with the standard Crimson Fleet questline here, but the main outcomes are still the same.
*******Some spoilers below for the "Absolute Power" quest of the Crimson Fleet questline below!*****
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's the snippet:
It was easy enough to sneak through the facility, but finding the blueprints? Not easy. It seemed every computer she tried to hack led into a dead end, not enough access privileges.
After what seemed like ages, she finally reached the power core room and accessed the terminal that held the conduction grid data. But there's a hitch: the data is encrypted. The only person who has access to this data, as it turns out, is Breyson Bayu, the not-so-well-liked younger brother of Benjamin Bayu.
Toxic sighed and checked the map of the facility, and found that Breyson’s office was actually quite close. Sneaking around in some vents, she entered the office easily, only to find Breyson waiting behind his desk, hands up.
Surprised, Toxic approached him, one hand behind her back ready to grab the dagger she had stopped to her leg, hidden by her dress.
Breyson also gave her a quizzical look, but didn't put his hands down. “Easy,” he started as Toxic came closer, “I'm not your enemy, despite what it might look like from your end.”
Toxic stopped, but her hand remained behind her back ready to grab her dagger. “Is that so?”
Breyson shifted in his chair. “Yeah, can I put my hands down now?”
Toxic nodded and Breyson lowered his hands, but kept them on the desk in full view. His eyes met hers. “You're not exactly what I was expecting, but you've sure caused a stir.”
Toxic laughed. “So you know what I'm after, then?”
He nodded. “I'm assuming you're after the conduction grid tech? I'll give it to you freely.”
Toxic tilted her head to the side. “So willingly? But why?”
“My brother was always the one that got everything handed to him. He was always the best, you know? And I was the fuck up.”
“So giving me the tech is a way to get back at your brother, then?”
Breyson sighed. “I don't want to die. Not for him. Take it and bring it to the Fleet. I'll even put in my password.” He reached over to type on the keyboard. “There.”
Toxic walked over to the terminal and pulled out a slate to download the information on the conduction grid. Then she hesitated for a moment, but decided to run Estelle’s virus. After all, she was Toxic’s ticket out of Neon and back to Delgado, so not following her wishes wasn't really an option.
Satisfied, Toxic turned to leave. In the end, it all seemed a bit too easy. But now it was time to meet Estelle and get off this soaked planet.
She headed to the Astral Lounge, the music thumping as she made her way to the back where the elevator to the VIP rooms were located. She slipped into the room Estelle had said she would meet her at, but something felt off.
Before Toxic could process the feeling, a dark figure emerged from the corner of the room. Benjamin Bayu.
Toxic’s breath hitched in her throat but she knew better than to speak. The message about meeting at the lounge was a trap, something obvious that she should have realized. She mentally scolded herself as Benjamin closed the space between them.
“The only thing I'm interested in is who is responsible for the virus” he said plainly.
Toxic took a step back, considering her options. Taking the fall for Estelle crossed her mind. That way, Estelle would be safe and able to get back to Bessel III to meet with Delgado, even if Toxic wasn't with her. But blaming Estelle would surely mean that they'd go after her and Toxic’s only chance to get off Neon would be compromised.
She drew in a breath. “It was me,” she said.
Bayu snorted as if he didn't believe her, but accepted the answer nonetheless. “Fine. Here's what is going to happen. You have an hour to get out of Neon. There is a body with very convincing evidence implicating you with murder. If you stay, security will kill you rather than arrest you.”
He looked down at his watch. “Better get moving, Fleet scum.”
I had a wild week with medical stuff, and I would love for NOTHING ELSE TO HAPPEN.
(more under cut so I don't clog your dash)
I started off Monday thinking I had an infection in my ear helix piercing (burning sharp pain that spread to my temple and base of my neck). I went to urgent care on Tuesday morning and even though there was no discharge or visible infection I was prescribed an antibiotic ointment and pill.
About an hour or so after I took the pill I noticed something weird with my mouth when I would eat and drink (especially from a straw). my mouth and lips would shift hard to the right like I was pursing my lips? completely involuntary. I don't think too much of it at first and call out of work and pretty much just sleep until I have to go to work again Wednesday night.
I notice that the pain coming from my ear is better but half of my face is numb and droopy, including my lips and tongue. My anxiety goes through the roof at this point because. uh. droopy face is BAD. although I feel fine everywhere else and I'm not slurring words or anything.
I go to urgent care again thinking I'm having a bad reaction to the antibiotics. the doctor is totally flabbergasted and has no idea what's wrong with me. She isn't sure if it's the medicine or something else so she sends me to the emergency room. (HELLO ANXIETY)
I don't have any friends close by and my girlfriend can't drive so I call my boss. she immediately comes to get me. the droopiness is getting worse and I finally see a doctor a few hours later. he almost instantly diagnoses me with Bell's Palsy and assures me it's not a stroke.
if you don't know what Bell's Palsy is, it's a dormant virus that can activate at anytime and it causes the facial nerve on one side to swell which causes numbness and droopiness. it's actually pretty harmless and goes away on it's own in less than 6 months. so. thank god for that.
the biggest trouble with it is I can't fully blink my left eye so it's just permanently kind of weepy and I need to use a lot of eyedrops. I ordered an eyepatch to use while I'm at work because the blurriness is very distracting.
I can kind of move the left side of my face but not without a lot of effort, the muscles are just very weak but not totally useless. it's really only noticeable when I talk and smile.
Anyway uhhh I'm glad my piercing isn't infected and it wasn't anything too serious. although this will affect me for quite a while. Just wanted to vent about my horrible roller-coaster of a week!!!!!
Truthfully, if Namjoon's curiosity hadn't gotten the best of him… Hoseok would've already put the poor young man out of his misery and been done with it.
However, Namjoon had stepped in.
"Hoseok-ah… let's just see what happens.  We have a containment area … just in case.   Let's just see where this goes.  If it's true and this woman shows… I mean, if she's right… then who knows what this could mean?"
And while it ground against every nerve and instinct Hoseok had…. he had always been a sucker for that wonder in Namjoon's eyes.
Joon was the leader, technically, but Hoseok was the disciplinarian and everyone knew it.
Joon was the face and the voice and Hoseok was the follow through.
Which usually made it all the more jarring because Hoseok was so naturally charismatic.
He was a natural at letting you see what he wanted you to see right up until the very end.
Chameleon, actor… whatever you wanted to call it.
But he had one huge weakness… and that was Namjoon and that childlike wonder he got in his eyes when he wanted to learn something.
If Hoseok was Superman, Namjoon was his kryptonite.
That being said… he didn't like this… at all.
It was far too risky.
Felix, the young man, had been bitten twice and while Taehyung insisted he watched this 'mystery woman' pull the virus cells out of him… he had his doubts.
At Taehyung's insistence, he had been given the medicine found in the backpack in thirty minutes intervals.
Now the question of a blood transfusion hung in the air.
Hoseok wasn't having it.
"Absolutely not." he had snapped.
"But hyung… she said…." Taehyung pleaded. "He lost so much blood.  He's got to."
"We don't even know this kid!" Hoseok shouted.
It had caused an unholy fight amongst himself, Taehyung, Namjoon and Jin.
It was the kid that spoke up.
"I understand your doubts.  I get it.   You can't trust anyone anymore."  Felix said.   "Don't worry about it.  Noona said she's coming.  And maybe I can build my blood back up."
"And that's another thing." Hoseok barked.  "Yet another stranger that we don't know.  She conveniently splits and you come in here with an infected person. Taehyung, what is wrong with you?!"
"If she hadn't then there is a really good possibility that I wouldn't even be here!" Taehyung snapped.
"You would be fine if you'd stayed the fuck inside like you're supposed to!" Hoseok roared.
"I can't live in a box for the rest of my life!  If wanting to feel the sunshine on my face every once in a while is a sin then Satan himself can claim me.   At least Hell would be a change of scenery!" Taehyung screamed.
The both of them were staring at the other with hard eyes and heaving chests.
Seokjin was the first to collect Hoseok, pulling him away to cool down while Namjoon went to soothe Taehyung.
Seokjin would bring Hoseok back down to reality and Namjoon, though impossibly curious of the possibilities, would help bring some clarity to Taehyung.
"I couldn't just…" Taehyung whispered. "Hyung doesn't understand…"
Namjoon sighed, placing his hand on Taehyung's shoulder, "He does, Tae.  He's just scared is all.  You know him.  He's just trying to keep everyone safe.  There are others here we have to think about."
"But… what if… what if it's a cure?"
"It is."
The pair of them looked to the young man currently laying on the bed in the isolation room.
Felix sat up a bit more.
He looked a bit worse for wear but there was no doubt that he hadn't been overtaken by the virus.
"A cure?" Namjoon asked.
Felix nodded, "Noona won't talk about it but I know it's true.  My hyung, Minho, he was bitten and she did with him what she did with me today.  But I think it took a lot longer."
"This is fascinating but I don't know that it's classified as a cure.  It's more like catching a cut before infection can set it."  Namjoon reasoned. "Still, I had no idea that it was even something that could be done… but it's not exactly a cure."
"It is though." Felix said.  "I wasn't finished talking."
Redness creeped up Namjoon's neck, "Sorry."
"It's ok." Felix said.  "Another member of our group, Hyunjin, he got separated from us for a while.   We feared the worse and had those fears confirmed one day while we were out scavenging.  He'd completely turned. But he's family and no matter what we've been told… none of us could just put him down like that."
Taehyung's chest tightened with this knowledge and his mind wandered to a certain someone currently locked away in another isolation chamber.
Felix continued, "We managed to get him back and we put a muzzle on him so he couldn't bite.   Noona knew she could pull the virus cells out because she'd done it with Minho.  But it was different.  Minho had a fresh bite and Hyunjin had clearly been turned for a while. She had to figure out a way to get the cells out and good blood back in."
"I don't understand." Namjoon said.
"I think I do." Taehyung said before looking at Namjoon. "That's what she was talking about.   A blood transfusion."
Felix nodded, "She pumped cells out of Hyunjin until he was barely there at all.   They're not dead, you see.  But their bodies are locked in a different state.  And depending how strong they are mentally…. they could still be aware.   Noona pulled cells out of Hyunjin until he looked like a raisin and then we all took turns giving him blood transfusions.   She'd extract and inject until no virus was left and all that remained was blood."
"Oh my god." Namjoon whispered.  "This it is."
"It doesn't always work though." Felix said.
"What do you mean?" Taehyung said, the flicker of hope in his chest almost dying as quickly as it had grown.
"It all depends on the person." Felix said, struggling a little to sit up.  "She's tried before on others.   Hyunjin says he felt like he still had his mind but no control of his body.  Like he was being controlled and it was a fight every day.  He said it was like a devil was on his shoulder whispering to him to give in and making him do things he didn't want to.  He said knowing that we were alive and fighting for him gave him hope and something to hold on.  He says that when Noona started the treatment it was awful and extremely painful…but it gave him the strength he needed not to give in."
Taehyung gasped, tears springing to his eyes, as he thought of the wide dark eyes and full lips, the sweet smile and warm hugs.
The person who he loved with all his heart…. locked away in his own mind.
"The others.." Felix started.  "Noona thinks it's because she's not good enough but Hyunjin says he thinks it's because they had already given up hope or perhaps there were prior injuries that were too great.  A girl, Sulli, she came completely back to herself but then she died on the table.   Another, Hara… she was restored but unfortunately she took her life that night.   Changbin-hyung says that she confided in him that she'd lost everyone… and didn't want to continue without them.  She did it before we could even try to stop her. But there was one other.  Her name is Jisoo.  She was bitten and restored.  We saw her not long ago.  She said that she had reunited with her friends, Rose, Lisa and Jennie."
Taehyung sniffled, "Why did you say you couldn't go back earlier? In the street.  You said you'd been bitten.  If you knew this was possible then why did you say that?"
A dark look crossed the young man's freckled features, "I didn't exactly have control.  I never realized what Hyunjin mean when he said it was like your body was being controlled.  I felt like it was drifting in and out and my mind was hazy.  I spoke but I didn't have control at times.  At others I did.  That's why when I had the chance, I told Noona I wanted to go with you. I just wanted to make it home.  If we made it home, I knew she could save me.  Because I know it's possible and that she won't give up… and that is all the strength I need to fight it before it overtakes me."
He was quiet for a moment and tears filled his eyes.
"But it's been hours… and she still hasn't come.  I - I'm scared that they might've…" he broke off into a sob, his emotions getting the better of him.
"We'll find the woman."
The three of them jumped at the voice at the door.
Hoseok, had been lingering, silently and discreetly listening to the story.
"Hyung!" Taehyung gasped.
Hoseok walked to both Namjoon and Taehyung, placing a hand on the younger's shoulder.
"Taehyungie… I'll find her.  If she can do it… we will try everything we can to bring Jiminie back."
Terrapin Soup Part 7
A few days had gone by as usual since Usagi's visit with Leos family, most of the questions about them had subsided. On occasion something would come up like Mikey asking for his favorite color, or April asking what Leo likes most about him and teasing him about kiss. Or even the few times Splinter would ask if he'd seen the Lou Jitsu movies yet and which ones he think Leo should show him first.
All of which was well meaning but it did get a little annoying after the tenth; "Are you sure he hasn't even seen Lou Jitsu in the Battle Nexus?"
Leo sat in his bedroom scrolling on his phone when he found some Hidden City news sites finally, after hiding himself in his roof where he was finally able to get a bit of peace from his loving family. He'd been careful not to trip anything on Donnie's stupid parental controls he had on everyone phone to avoid them getting virus's or hacked by anyone. But this forum was pretty up to date and seemed to be fine, there were even a few links to some yokai app site where you could get channels to tune into.. Neat. Maybe he'd see something about Usagi and his teacher cleaning up the city.. If he asked Draxum would he know anything about that? Would he know what they were actually doing? What if it was human's.. Draxum didn't hate them as much now but would he go that far as to eat them if he had the option? Maybe he would be the person to talk to about his feelings.. Draxum's the one who made them after all, he'd probably have some kind of fix for whatever was wrong with him.. But... If he wasn't how he is would Usagi still like him? Don't be stupid of course he would! Even if they had different diets he still knew about Usagi's habits and didn't care. Maybe that would be something to ask next time he stayed the night and took Usagi stargazing again..
"Hey Leo-"
Instinctively Leo shoved his phone under his pillow and sat at attention hearing a voice come into his room. Not that he had anything to hide but his thoughts had been trailing off and his phone felt like proof of him thinking unsavory things. Oh, but it was just Raph. He stood up pretending like he was working out as the massive figure came into view, "Oh hey man what's up?"
"..I'm.. I'm gonna ignore whatever it is you're trying to hide"
"Hide? Me?? Never, I mean- I.. I'm offended you'd even think I'd- ... Yeah okay whatever, what did you want?"
"Raph wanted to ask you something, relationship related."
"Aww you having girl troubles big bro~ Came to the expert did you?"
"Uh- No."
"Boy troubles then? Which I mean I know more about I think April would know more about girl stuff-"
"I mean about your relationship."
"...Uhhhmm mine? Okay? Like.. Like what? Cause I mean you guys have been kinda all over us lately and not that I don't love the attention don't get me wrong but like- It's a bit much even for you guys" Raph looked like he was trying to find the right words, clearly he wasn't going anywhere till he got it out of his system, and Leo wasn't gonna kick him out of his room if it was so important he came all the way here to ask his question in privacy. He patted the spot beside him inviting Raph to sit down as he did. "Make it quick, I was thinking about.. Going out, later." Raph nodded and sat on the edge of the bed, crushing the mattress and causing the bed to creek and shift making Leo slide towards him, he never minded though, not like Raph could help it. "Well.. I... Its been on my mind a lot and I feel bad so I thought maybe I should tell you."
"This.. Raph don't mess with me, what's up?"
"I have a bad feeling about Usagi. I-I can't really explain why, and I know it's stupid and you can be mad but I just.. I just get this weird vibe from him and-"
"Imma stop you right there."
"But-"
"Raph seriously. I'm not mad. I get it, like full and total honesty I really understand what you mean." He craned his head to give him a sympathetic smile and pat his shell, "I won't tell you that you're crazy or whatever, but I need you to take that feeling.."
"Yeah..?"
"And kill it."
"..What-"
"Take whatever you have against him and kill it, for me okay? You can feel however you want on your own time, and weather you like him or not isn't going to change anything. I know he's.. Done things. And y'know what, who hasn't. Y'know how many times Donnie's experimented on us or how many times we've beat those foot faces within an inch of their life? Or like Hueso was a literal pirate, a wanted man and we love that guy! I mean dad was in a murder area for who knows how long and we still near worship Lou Jitsu! Usagi's told me a bunch of the dirty laundry he has and if you get that feeling about him then you should be getting that same weird feeling about me. I don't blame you for getting weird vibes, but I'm gonna tell you right now that he's not a threat."
"Leo just.. All I'm saying is be careful okay? He seems awesome, and I'm glad he makes you so happy, really I am. I just.. It feels like he's hiding something bad, not everyone is who they say they are.." Leo sighed a little laying back on the bed with his legs hanging off, "Yeah well.. No one is who they say they are.."
"But I'm who I say I am?"
"Oh please, who are you right now then?"
"Well.. Raph?"
"Fake. Raph's voice is higher."
"Excuse me??"
"Fake! Fake fake fake!" Leo rolled from side to side almost like a child throwing a fit, but this was clearly in a more dramatic and mocking way, no real anger or upset behind it. "It's just Raph's body, you're.." He tilted his head a little to read the expression on his face, "You're Brick." He said little his head fall back to the bed. His tone more confident after seeing the face. "I am not! The body was named Raph so I'm Raph by default-"
"Faaaake"
"Why are you being so difficult!?"
"Well I named you Brick actually so I dunno if you've ever heard me call you that, from that time you ran into the wall face first to prove a point."
"And I was right!"
"But Raph doesn't remember that."
"No I remember-"
"Cause you're Brick."
"Well how do I not be Brick so you'll take this seriously! I'm trying to talk to you-"
"I unno- But I am taking this seriously though! And I proved my point! You don't even know who you are half the time and that's on accident! No one is who they act like, we all change for other people and act different when we're around others. Who you are when you're alone.. No one shows that to everyone right at the start."
"Well.. Well who are you then huh??"
"I'm... I.. I don't know yet. Even if I did I don't think I'd be able to tell anyone really, you guys might be my brothers but I don't think even you would understand. I will one day I think, but who knows."
"Oh.. Hm... So- Wait a second- Hold on, back to me being Brick-"
-_-_-_-
It took a while for Leo to talk his way out of his conversation with his brother in red, not fully understanding what he was getting himself into till there were a million questions he found himself unable to answer. Once he managed to slip away he headed into the labyrinth of sewer tunnels just outside of Donnie's security, there he was able to look though his phone without any fear of cameras or audio playing where his genius brother could find it.  He turned on the app for one of the few local news stations in the Hidden city, starting to scroll though different stories that'd been put out this past week. Most of it was fairly normal stuff, well.. Normal for the city's standards at least, things like;
'Flying Pet Saves Child Stuck In A Tree'
'Couple Gives Birth To Yokai With Five Eyes, Couldn't Be Happier'
'New Dog Park Being Built, Dogs Are Not Allowed In The Dog Park. Yokai Are Not Allowed In The Dog Park'
'New Tradition Sweeping City Of Placing Feathers On Doorsteps Preventing People From Leaving Via Front Door, Hilarious Pictures Of People Exiting Though Windows Here'
'Battle Nexus Obituaries, Updated Daily!'
That last once made Leo shudder as he quickly scrolled passed it and finally found something that caught his eye. 'Yokai Gang Disappeared Mysteriously. West End No Longer Under Their Control And Want To Thank The Masked Heroes Responsible' Leo smiled a little having a feeling he knew who the article would be mentioning. But.. Despite the threat of the gang being gone they didn't seem to be painting the aforementioned heroes in a positive light like the title made it seem.. "-may suggest that a rival gang or someone with intentions to oversee control of the previous gangs faction only dethroned the Cobalt Hues gang to take control into their own hands. Residents who decided to stay were advised to remain on high alert for any new activity and report any suspicious sightings to the HCPD immediately."
Well that didn't sound great.. But it made sense to still be on alert in case something went wrong, better to be prepared then just let your guard down to have it happen again. But at least he was able to see some of what Usagi was up to now! He took a screenshot of the headline to ask him about it later and headed back towards the lair, right as he got better reception his phone lit up with a notification. Oh? Had his phone not be getting other messages while he wasn't in rage of the wifi? There was a few from Usagi now that they'd exchanged numbers, and some from his brothers too, shit.. It must be important if everyone was trying to find him..
Sagi<3: Hey are you free tonight?
Sagi<3: Leo?
Sagi<3: I really need your help with something if you can.
Sagi<3: Hey you know a bunch about medical stuff right? You told me you do most of the first aid for your brothers still I think.
Sagi<3: Call me when you see this okay?
Raps: Leo ur bfs texting me, where'd you go? Raps: I swear if ur goofin off and makin him worry were gonna fight
Angelo: Leeeeooooooooooooooo Angelo: Dude Raph said you vanished, he's gonna have the lair on lockdown if you don't answer soon Angelo: I have plans to tag a new wall tomorrow so if he grounds us I'm using ur swords to get there >:P
D0NN13: I'm changing your name to Dum-Dum. Oh and get another hose key if ur top-side I need another one for.. Things.
Leo sighed as he pulled a curtain back walking into the the blinding lights of the atrium unlike the dark sewer tunnels he'd been in earlier, he was only gone for like.. Half an hour maybe? What was so important that- Oh. Usagi was standing in the center of the room, Mikey clinging to him as usual while the others seemed to be talking with him. Usagi gave the brothers a sympathetic smile, one of his hands gently patting Mikey's head as he listened. Leo smiled a little seeing how gentle he was with Mikey, even though he had all the reasons to push him off or not even bother with affection towards him, it was sweet.. "Usagi?" He stepped in further, watching as all eyes turned to him. "Where have you been!?" Raph asked, stepping past the group ready to lecture his brother into the far future about leaving without telling anyone where he was going. "Ah- Sorry, I got a little.. Lost... And lost signal, but I'm here now. What's up?" He leaned over peeking past Raph to give Usagi a little wave, "Sorry I didn't see anyone's texts till now- Is something wrong..?"  Usagi's silence wasn't reassuring.. "Sagi..?" He sidestepped past Raph who didn't even try to stop him thankfully, "C'mon what's goin on? How'd you even get here?" From the looks of it no one else had been told anything either, he wasn't sure if that was good or bad. "I managed. Since you'd showed me the way once before, I.. Apologize for the intrusion." "No no- I'm not- I was just wondering because I know how far it is. It must really be important huh? Seriously though, is something wrong?"
"It's.. My sensei-" He finally said after a moment. "I didn't want to say anything without you here." Usagi gently nudged Mikey telling him he needed to move, and thankfully he listened this time and stepped back. "He was hurt on a mission and won't let me help. He's always been stubborn and self-reliant to a fault but I'm not sure what else to do, he hasn't taught me much first aid so I don't know where to begin. And.. I'd be eternally grateful if you'd help me with the next mission." Raph perked up hearing mention of a mission, "Just say the word Usagi and the Mad Dogs will be there to help-" "No." Usagi raised his hand to cut him off, "I'm already disgracing Hyo's rule of asking for help at all, let alone from a ninja.. He'd have my head if I managed to involve the rest of you as well. Please.." "Oh. Well I guess that makes sense-" Leo grabbed his sword, a light blue trail of sparks already flying from the metal. "So we need to get him and patch him up first? We should bring him here, the med bay has more then enough to spare. I know the most about first aid here anyway so.." He looked back to Raph, "Is it okay if we do that, you guys can watch over him and I'll bring back some pizza as thanks." Raph hesitated, but nodded, "We made a vow to help anyone in need of it, if you think this is what we should do I won't argue." Leo nodded and looked back to Usagi, "Think he'll listen to me? Or should we get some kinda trank darts from Donnie's lab to make things go smoothly?" He said joking mostly of course, and gently nudged Usagi when he saw the yokai giving his joke actual consideration, "Oh c'mon, no one's more stubborn then me Sagi~ I'll get him back here no problem. Which, I should ask first.. How bad is it? Like.. Anything broken or still oozing?" Usagi smiled a little and nodded, "Right, I trust you." He thought for a moment, "It's.. I don't think anything's broken, and I managed to get most of the bleeding to slow down, it shouldn't be fatal at least."
Leo nodded and firmly gripped the hilt of his odachi, waving it away from the others as a bright blue portal opened up, "Alright, Mikey, go tell dad what's going on so he doesn't freak out and get everyone pizza order, Raph, you can text April and have her come over and help me once we get him in. Donnie get's to turn on all the weird stuff he built in the med bay since Raph will pass out if he sees blood or anything like it. Everyone got it?" The all nodded and headed off the separate ways save for Usagi who stood close to Leo. "What can I do..?" "You're gonna help me drag him back, I don't think he likes me vary much so having you there might help things be less.. Tense."
Once on the other side of the portal, which Leo surprisingly managed to create in the genkan of their house. It just hit Leo now, but Usagi had his ears down, it was probably the first time he'd seen them not tied back.. Even when they would go out together he hadn't looked this casual. Maybe he didn't have time while worrying about his teacher? He'd mention it later once all this was settled, this wouldn't be the best time to try and flirt.. Usagi stepped inside glancing around before heading up the stairs, "This way. He must've gone to his room." Leo followed in silence, taking a mental note of the tiny red pools trailing up the steps. That.. Isn't a great sign... "Sensei-" Usagi called softly, stopped at one of the doors at the end of the hallway, "I'm coming in." He pushed the door inward, finding him sitting on the floor beside his bed, he didn't look too bad but not with the light Leo noticed more of his features. He wasn't a lion like he thought before, there were dark spots trailing all over, he was a leopard. Interesting.. "Sensei! You should've stayed put like I said! You got blood all over the floor and I'm gonna end up being the one to scrub it out.." "..Iss fine. Leave me be, imjus need ta sleep it off." "Sensei please even you must see how childish this behavior is.." Leo rolled his eyes, gently patted Usagi's shoulder, "Let me." He knelt down in front of him and gently lifted his head, Leo's hand firmly under his chin to hold it up, "Name?"
"Hyō. Tomogui Hyō."
"Age?" "Fuck off-"
"That's fair.. Alright where does it hurt?" "I don't feel pain." "So everywhere got it. We're gonna take you to a more comfortable spot, can you stand?" "..Howdya think m got up 'ere?" "..Also fair. C'mon then-" "M not goin nowhere. Jus lemme.. Rest." "Yeah see, normally I would, but my cute boyfriend over there said he's worried about you, and if you're important to him then it's kinda my job to make sure you don't bleed out. Unless you'd rather me pull out the stitching kit here without any pain meds? I'm sure under this low light and unsterilized room I'll be much better at patching you up.. Oh and how easily do you get infected? And how attached are you to your limbs? Cause I mean I'm just spitballin here but you don't look too good and honestly the odachi makes for a pretty poor bone saw- But hey! I'm open to trying new things!" The was a long moment of silence before Hyo shifted, forcing himself to stand despite how off balance he was. "I hate turtles.." He muttered as Leo smiled and motioned for Usagi to put an arm around Hyo to help keep him steady while he reopened the portal. Thankfully aside from a few deep cuts and probably some bruised ribs he seemed okay, sure there were smaller cuts and it was hard to tell just how bruised he was under that fur, but he'd live.
"Why didn't you take him to some like, yokai hospital?" Leo asked, one arm under Hyo's other side as Usagi held up the other, walking him to the med bay. "He refused.. And I couldn't drag him that far. I was starting to consider getting some kind of taxi till I remembered you had the ability to portal. And he doesn't like those places, so having him in your care seemed like the better option." "Gotcha.. Well I'm glad you trust me that much, I'll do what I can. I'm sure he'll be fine though, it doesn't look that bad." They got to the med bay laying him down one of the already made bed, Donnie was still there using some kind of sterilizing light to make sure everything was still clean. "Please tell me you didn't make a mess getting him here." Leo rolled his eyes, "That's the least of you problems Dee, do you have your scanner, we'll need it." Donne nodded handing him a device shaped like a phone, "He's not in our database, clearly, so it'll take a little longer to show everything. It's fresh out of beta so be patient with it. Raph said April's on her way, it'll be a few minutes though." "That's fine, we should probably get his soaked clothes off any way so she probably wouldn't want to be here for that. I just need some extra hands to hold him till the meds kick in mostly, and someone to help clean up after." He held the scanner and let it do it's work as Usagi watched closely, wondering if this tech was only available to them or if most people had things like this.. He waited till Donnie left the room to gently tap Leo's shoulder, "Is there anything I can do?" Leo thought for a moment, "You can get some water if you want? And one of the rags over there, it'd be a pain if the blood dried and matted his fur. I don't think he'd be too happy if he woke up half shaved.." They both laughed a little trying to picture it.
-_-_-_-
Another half hour later April came into the room, "Raph said we had a medical emergency what happened-!" She froze in the doorway seeing Usagi dump a large bowl full of dark red water into the sink, and Leo standing over a body that looked like no one she'd seen before. "Oh jeeze okay- Leo you have ten seconds to explain who this is and why you're making your boyfriend play nurse for you-" "Ah April! I'm glad you're here! Also, have a little faith in me I know what I'm doing. This is Usagi's teacher, the one who raised him. He got hurt and I'm patching him up. Sagi offered to help so I gave him some busy work. But I need you to help wrap his arounds up after I finish with the stiches- Please."  April sighed and nodded, setting her bag down and rolling up her sleeves to go help. "So what even happened?" "Sensei takes some of the most dangerous missions to protect the Hidden City. He puts the safety of those above himself, and as usual he refused help and was out numbered. Allowing the orchestrator of the attack to get away." "..Okay so he was ambushed or something? That's no good. What's gonna happen now then?" "We're going after him" Leo pulled the last stitch through tying it tightly, "Make sure he doesn't get up either, if those stitches rip I'm gonna make sure he's awake when I put 'em back in. He should be sleep long enough to sort things out, but can you watch him while we're out? You and Donnie can take turns if we take too long. But Raph hates it in here and so does Mikey." "They're not going with you?" "Well.. It's a long story but yeah, text me if anything happens and we'll come right back okay?" "You're lucky I love you Leo. Fine, I'll do the wraps and I guess now's a good time to get my homework finished.. Better bring me back something cool okay?" Leo nodded and after washing his hands opened another portal for him and Usagi, "Thanks, you're the best! I'll find something super cool for you before we get back I swear-" And with that he and Usagi stepped back, Hyo had been set up with a pretty heavy dose of anesthetic so Leo really hoped April wouldn't have to deal with him till he was back home.. But that was a problem for future him to worry about. Right now he and Usagi needed to find the culprit and bring them to justice.
And that started, at the West End.
"Memory Lane"
-
Same universe as Stitched Hearts, Vodka Soaked Memory, Even When I Doubt You & The Canine.
-
Leon S. Kennedy x F!Reader
-
Important: Kitty is technically my OC however it is written as if you are her so it's still an x reader, her appearance isn't described, Kitty is bisexual and that is sometimes mentioned when I write her.
-
Warnings: Angst, Almost fluff but not really, Blood/Injury Mention
-
You had convinced Leon to let you talk with Canine again, this time you were a lot calmer and so far everything was going well.
Aside from the fact he kept dodging your questions still.
"Your goggles are new. You used to only wear the face mask."
He remarked why staring up at you, visibly tension rose after that comment. Letting out a dry laugh you stepped forward. That was it.
"So, you want to take a trip down memory lane?"
That comment actually seemed to crack him a bit, his breathing faltering for a moment and his body tensed.
-
"I'm gonna step out to grab some coffee. Are you absolutely sure you can be alone with him?"
"I'll be fine, Leon. Thank you."
You smiled and gave his arm a reassuring pat which earned a chuckle from the blonde, he shook his head at you slightly.
He was worried but also trusted you and glanced towards Canine, the look in his eyes a silent warning.
He then slipped out the door leaving you to yourself with the man you used to know so well.
-
There wasn't much distance between you and Canine, there was no need for there to be.
"How about we talk about the fact you fucking handed over that virus to those assholes."
Your tone was nothing short of venomous.
"The fact you blatantly betrayed me and everyone else. The fact that I ran in there to save you, horrified when I saw you beaten and bloody... Only discover that whole time..."
You had to stop yourself before you blew up, threatening to rip at the seams.
You were shocked by the expression on the man's face, that smile was gone almost as if it was a mask... His deep green eyes broken and expression littered with regret.
The weight of it all crushing him as well.
"I never meant for any of that to happen... They..."
Walls were closing in. Hard to breathe.
"They what?"
You were confused and anger still burnt your insides, snapping at him slightly making him tense again.
"They were going to kill you... I couldn't just... I couldn't let them... I had to give it to them... After I realized what I had done I... I cost so many lives and I just... I was selfish I couldn't..."
His words were jumbled and breathing ragged, he had fought back the pain of his own choices for so long, not entirely selfish but desperate. Running from the problem leaving you with the idea he had always been using you.
"I hated myself so much that I needed you to hate me too..."
The admission stung both of you deep, before the logical part of your brain kicked in you hugged him tight, basking in his warmth and letting his face bury into your shoulder.
Even while sitting down he was really tall.
The familiarity of two heart broken people just trying their best coming to the surface. His own anger at himself ended up hurting you more than if he had simply told the truth at the start.
So long living with misconceptions.
Living with him pretending to be someone else just because he couldn't stand himself.
Upon the realization of the extent of damage he did to you the truth had spilled... A chance at starting over, maybe?
"Did... I miss something?"
Nothing short of awkward Leon had returned with two coffees, seeing you hugging Canine was definitely not expected.
Leon's stance and tone reflected that slow pause of pure confusion, that little dumbfounded face he made that never failed to amuse you even in situations like this.
"Yeah. A bit."
-
{More Canine because yes. I had trouble with this one cause I struggled with making it make sense and not feel forced. It still feels forced but I'm tired of staring at it so it y'all's problem now. lmao}
Alright I just watched your Online Horror Attempt, now I am no expert of analog horror, however after watching a bunch (thanks to your AU) I think I'm well verse to the formula so here are thoughts.
Alright now my first critique is the voice. Now I understand that you can't hire voice actors but I had a hard time distinguishing of "who's who" in this video but over i think had.
The Black ooze Virus, now I will admit the images that were described were scary and kinda over the top, like the little girl just exploding and guy barfing until he deflated. Like is describing that kinda imagery really neccassary, it kinda feels like edge. I don't like the fact that the people infected were just bleeding black ooze and then instantly just fine when they got to the hospital so they just left like no check up or nothing,. Like if I had black ooze coming out of my nose, to only feel better as soon as I got there I am still staying at the hospital and getting x-ray there is something in my body.
So we learn later that the black ooze is alive and monsters are coming out and it looks like there is a different enemy type so that's interesting. The first monster that was described was interesting to me cause it just a bunch a hands and arms I think it was best out of the three that were described cause it wasn't even doing anything violent just wandering around like it was baby or something. The tall smiling monster made my eyes roll cause no offense, but the whole smiling monster has been done to death on analog horror genre. Now the bug monsters were also interesting, but what made me confuse was the fact that they dragged an entire family out of their home just to eat them. Like why didn't it just eat them when they were home? What was the purpose of dragging them out?
Now onto the Twist. I will admit I should've seen that coming however my problem that it was out of nowhere, like yeah some black ooze fell on him so there was that hint but I think there should have been more clues that the person talking to the US military wasn't human. Also that was kinda dumb of the imposter to just announce that he is a monster. Like yes it is terrifying that the imposter knows that there are humans alive to eat, but the dumbass doesn't even know where the human is. I feel like there was more lines of "Please tell me where you are I need to get safety." Or "Please tell me where you are, I ran out of food, and I'm getting hungry." But that's just me
Now overall I give this a 6/10, it wasn't perfect but it also was not the worse. It has potential. Just wish there was visuals though.
Okay a lot to unpack here but that's the burden of being a creator so let's get too it.
Your critique on my voice - Yeah honestly fair I hated that part too, I was trying to use filters to make myself sound like different people but I am limited on options with the app I'm using and in order to get more I have to pay for a monthly subscription and fuck that. I mean sure it would make things easier but right now I'm trying to save money on essentials so that's an unfortunate no. As such, nothing much I can about it for now, but I'll try to think of something in the meantime.
Your critique on the Black Ooze - ... Yeah I know, I kinda wanted to be scary but honestly looking back I feel like I was dangerously close to being another UrbanSpooks which really hurts but the truth often does. You were SORTA right about the hospital thing too. I mean I tried to make it that the doctors reviewed EVERYTHING and found nothing wrong. But looking back I really could have made that part clearer with better detail, but I didn't. I'll be sure to keep this in mind when working on future videos.
Your critique on the monsters - I don't agree with the smiling monster part because the sole purpose of that was that to add variation to the monsters to add elements of the unknown and unpredictable. BUT if I did fail at that too then I apologize and will try to do better form here on out. Though you are right about the cockroaches there really was no reason for them to drag people out. I just added that because I wanted more description of horror. But again, you were right, I went overboard on that part.
Your critique on the twist - Hm... I'm honestly not sure if I agree because the fact that there weren't enough clues of it going there was the point. It was supposed to come out of nowhere, also the reason it didn't ask questions about where the military was is that the Black Ooze is all consuming and supposed to spread EVERYWHERE it only slowed down because it thought there was nothing left but now that it does it doesn't matter which direction it goes because eventually everything will be eaten. But to be fair that will be explained in later episodes so yeah really not your fault you didn't know that, so your critique is technically valid.
Thank you for your review! Seriously critiques help more than you know! I really appreciate your notes and wish more people would do what you just did. Also, this technically isn't an analog horror, but I don't have a reason to hate anyone for calling it that so it's whatever, I guess.
有点忐忑
I have lost my sense of smell. I've been gradually losing it since yesterday, but today, it's not functioning. This is weird since I've long past my fever and am virtually no different from normal, but fine. It will return. The ability to smell, I mean. I'll be able to smell chamomiles again soon.
But there's something else I'm worried about given the history of us I'd inherited from my predecessors. And just now, it flared.
It's the OCD. It's trying to capitalize on this loss, however temporary, and telling me that it will never come back"What if it doesn't come back? What if it's not temporary? What if you can't smell shits forever? What if this nothingness is permanent forever? What if—"
How shall I describe those few seconds? My heart racing to the max. Hands going cold. Anxiety and fear, yes, but mostly that primal urge to scream. "Help me! Help! Let me smell something, please! Let me smell something, please, let me smell something! I want to smell something! I want to smell something! I need to smell something!"
I felt like I was heading toward a breakdown,
And then They kept saying I shouldn't try and look for something to smell because I'll keep trying and then there will still be no smell, and I'll feel like I don't have a nose, and if I'm not smelling anything how can I tell if I'm breathing, and—
Luckily Fionn scrambled to get me to smell my shampoo, and I could smell a whiff of its scent, mild as it was. I could also smell my deodorant. A whiff. Very mild. But I can. That pacified me for a bit, for now.
But what if I can't the next time? Should I smell them every hour to see if I can smell at least something? We have been there before. Establishing a ritual, pacifying ourselves, telling us it's the one thing that keeps Them out. Fostering some sort of reliance. But we didn't actually really got better because of it because we were just shoring up little arbitrary things to make us feel safe.
I don't want what happened to me when we were 13 to happen again. I cannot tackle this new source of anxiety in a way that causes That to happen, because I don't want to be brought to another exorcist or go through another exorcism again. The Lyndises at that time got out of half a year's worth of serious episodes and those exorcisms with insane creativity and a sort of fantasy-reality dissociate-associate and honestly, it was a hilarious and sorta darkly comedic story that some of my predecessor Lyndises used for her stand-up and story-telling time, but we also remembered how paralyzingly terrifying every moment of it was, too, in that state. It wasn't half a year-long of psychological torment for nothing. The boarding school didn't start spreading rumors about us being half-possessed at all times, discussing us in message boards, making up stories about the sort of spirit that possessed me, for nothing. We didn't start talking to mirrors for nothing. We didn't start talking to dolls for nothing. All that because our OCD flared up and was uncontrolled and nobody in that stupid school, despite being supposedly elite and having an office for counselors, knew it was a mental disorder.
All they worried about was whether I was suicidal. We weren't; we just wanted out of the school because it was full of "hepatitis B blood virus" in my OCD mind, and because it was so lonely and isolating and invisible there. Because we were being treated like a ghost, but we were still tangible enough to possibly be contaminated by "viruses", and so They kept telling us we could be if we weren't vigilant. Outside, people were telling us that we were just doing stupid shit because we were a delicate flower with zero grit who couldn't even weather through a boarding school, no matter how many times she told 'em she wanted to be transferred to a normal public school. In the end, we had to play into the possession narrative—including not hiding our tendency to hear voices, and even letting Someone take over the driver seat partially—just to finally be listened to by a crowd of terrified adults. They rather listen to the "ghost" who possessed me. Because when I was a human, I was simply my Dad's experiment to create the perfect child.
We nursed ourselves back to health through weird regimes we cobbled out of daydreams and fantasies and those audio hallucinations and by luck and some miscellaneous untaught ingenuity, without support from the internet or other people online (we didn't even know it was called OCD; we just knew we were not actually possessed), and the help of a new environment where we could start over again. But that was yet another half a year of recovery.
I don't want that. My predecessors didn't go through all of these just so I, the one who succeeded them, repeat their methods and honest mistakes. I have to be careful about this loss-of-sense-of-smile issue. And this time, there's a high chance that we can. I am much more mindful of my state of mind and emotional state, and I am better at facing and responding to Them. I have knowledge! I'm armed with knowledge all of us had been gathering thus far, in a volume far greater than 13-year-old Lyndis(es) had. My metacognitive voices are wiser. Faster. Clearer at rebuttals. And so is Fionn, who learned his own things while I learned mine. And the 8-foot Tall Woman isn't even as antagonistic to me as she used to be.
This is different from then. This doesn't need to be a replay of what happened in 2008. It's not impossible for me to make sure our brain doesn't accidentally succumb to the lure of my OCD and rewrite its own neural circuit into a deeper and deeper spiral. Be vigilant, but not toward the object of anxieties, but to the anxieties themselves. My sense of smell will return; I know that much as a fact of science. But the anxieties themselves—They—will try to convince me otherwise. They will try to make me edge to another breakdown.
If I succumb too much I rewrite my circuit and make it even easier to succumb the next time. It's all circuitry at the end of the day; it's a rumination, a self-reinforcing process. Oh, like the Kaisen in Jujutsu Kaisen! Hahahaha!
..... You of the future who inherited me: this is as much for me as it is for you.
Kayla (16)
My Dad passed away 5 months ago in April just 9 days before my 16 birthday. [...] A man finally entered the room holding a clipboard of documents. I prayed in my mind that everything would be fine and my dad would be awake in the room waiting for us. But, when the doctor told us he hated to be the bearer of bad news, I just sat there as he told us that my dad had passed away. I don’t remember much except the moments where I was brought to the room he was kept in. I hated how there were wires connected to him and a tube going down his throat. I couldn’t bare to look and he felt cold, unlike the warm feeling my dad usually had. Maybe a week after his death we finally found out my dad had a heart disease and died because of a blockage in his main artery causing him to have a heart attack. After my dads death, I found it hard to go to school yet I still managed. But I feel that a lot of people don’t understand what I’m going through and expect that now I shouldn’t be upset anymore which isn’t true. I know it’s hard and I still struggle today, but no one is alone and you shouldn’t feel ashamed to talk about how you feel or the loved one you have lost.
Michaela (24)
My family which consisted at the time of my parents, me, and my two younger brothers, were driving back home after church. My oldest brother needed to go to the library to work on some of his homework, and the rest of us went home. My mom had been sick with a virus for a few months at that point but she seemed to only be getting worse as time went on. [...] Then the death sentence came: Time of Death: 22:13." Coping for the next year or so was next to impossible and I hit rock bottom about 7 months afterwards, and took me another year to fully get out of that hole I was in. The pain of losing Mom is still there 5 years later and it is still just as intense as it was then, but I've gotten used to constantly bearing that pain 24/7/365.
Madison (13)
On July 28th, 2018 I lost my mom. The sherriff of my county came and knocked on my door while I was playing with my friend in the playroom. I thought my grandma had hit another telephone pole so I shrugged it off. When my grandma came to pick up all of my older and younger siblings except me and my older sister, I realized something was off. Me, dad, and my big sister headed to the hospital and he explained what had happened. I didn't shed a tear. My dad had said: “Hey Maddy I know you really love your mom so you have to come with us so she can see somebody. The Deputy hit her car.” I said “Okay Dad. I hope she's okay.” We drove an hour and a half to get to the hospital. We had gotten into the hospital at noon. I ran in and said my mommy was there. The nurse waited for my big sister and dad. My dad said the name and we were sent to a quiet room. The head doctor came in and said " I'm so sorry, she didn't make it." I was bawling but asked if I could see her. I got to give her a big hug and a kiss on the forehead. After that I haven't been quite the same. She was the biggest influence in my life. She was gorgeous and I'll admit, she wasn't perfect, but she was my mommy. In December My Uncle died, and My papaw died in March. I really wasn't ready for that. I don’t think I will ever be the same. In early July, my friend Danielle died in a car accident too. I will never think of anything like I did before. I will also never stop thinking about them. Grief is something you never fully go through, and that's okay. I loved them all, and the closure of knowing they loved me too, is what keeps me sane.
