I was thinking about Eddie and his will and it makes me wonder, do you think Buck has a will? If so when do you think he actually made one and what do you think he has in it?

It’s interesting to think about like if he had one during season 1 or not and what he would even put in it. Or who he had as an emergency contact back then before Maddie came. Who do you think he had as his emergency contact when he was wandering? Do you think he had a will then?

Do you think there’s a specific point that made him make a will? I’m thinking he has one now especially after Eddie told him about being Chris’ legal guardian and Jee-yun but it just makes me think when he actually made one.

What are your thoughts???

Well, it's a plot point in lone star, but I think it applies anyway, it is a dangerous job, and even if he didn't have all that much to put in said will when he joined the lafd, he would be encouraged to write one, and I think he would still have something, at least thinking of getting the jeep back to Maddie or something, and to have an advanced directive that didn't put him at the mercy of his parents if something happened. I think he probably updated it, still think the primary receiver would be Maddie tho, I mean, it's cute to think of him leaving stuff for Chris, but it's unclear on what he has to leave to begin with, like, the loft is a lease, so it would be his savings? And I honestly see him finding out Maddie is pregnant and changing his will to make it go to Jee's college fund or something like that. And there's the way when Maddie escaped Doug, she ran to him with nothing but 2 suitcases and I think part of him would want to make sure she would have something if he's not there anymore. And honestly, I think the Buck who joined the force didn't think anyone cared about him enough to bother, so I think he would have a will that's written in crazy detail to make sure no one would have to do anything about his death.

As for emergency contact, since Bobby shows up at the hospital after the tracheotomy and after he gets cut while on the blood tines, the safest assumption is that it was Bobby when he joined the 118, probably defaulted to his parents before that, and now it's some combination of Maddie and Bobby.

But the nature of the job requires a will, it's not something he can delay all that much, even more considering the fact he almost died a lot in those first 2 (?) years, if he didn't have a will by the time of the truck explosion, he definitely made one after. But the question of what is he leaving to who depends on what he has to leave to begin with. It's not like Buck ever talks about money. But it's like, maybe a list of sentimental stuff he wants to make sure goes to the right person and everything else goes to Maddie/Jee.
