Hi, I was wondering if you could do Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji (separately) X Reader, and it's of them already in a relationship, and kind of based on the trend on TikTok, Reader calls them "Buddy" to see their reaction?
hi!! sorry this took so long, i just returned from a trip and didn’t have much time to write at all last week. thanks for the request, this was so fun to write! this was my first time writing short drabbles like this, but i hope i captured the boys’ reactions well :)

Sanji
The lid to the peanut butter jar was exceptionally tight that morning.
You glanced at Sanji, who was trying and failing to prevent his lips from turning up into a mischievous smirk. You rolled your eyes as a small huff escaped your mouth.
Did he seriously think you wouldn’t catch on to his little schemes? You had long been aware that he’d sometimes purposefully tighten the lids to all of the jars in the kitchen just so you would ask him for help.
After struggling for a good few seconds, you finally relented and passed the jar to him, “Open this for me, please?”
Sanji beamed at you, “Why, of course, dearest! With pleasure.”
He popped the lid open with ease and handed the jar back to you.
You took it gratefully but couldn’t resist the temptation of getting back at him in some way. So, as you walked away, you patted his shoulder and said lightly, “Thanks, buddy!”
You instantly regretted it when you saw Sanji’s crestfallen expression, “...Buddy?”
He looked like he was close to tears as he searched your face, “A-are you mad at me? Is this about the jars? I promise I won't do it aga–”
His small voice broke you and you immediately rushed back to him, “Oh sweetheart, no, I’m just joking!”
You planted a kiss on his cheek, “I’m sorry, honey.” You moved your lips to his other cheek, “Baby.” To his forehead, “Darling.”
He let out a relieved sigh at the return of your usual repertoire of nicknames, before squishing your cheeks in between his hands, “Don’t ever call me buddy again. Please.”
You chuckled, “Yes, my love.”
He nodded, satisfied at your answer, before leaning in and melding his lips to yours in the sweetest kiss.

Zoro
“Hey, can you pass me the towel?”
You were sitting on the bench of the crow’s nest, quietly reading your book as Zoro spent hours after hours working out. This was the first instance that he had spoken to you in all that time, which was no surprise, really. You knew that he took his workout very seriously.
But, you couldn’t deny that it still annoyed you to no end that he had not glanced even once in your direction this whole time, despite this being one of the rare moments that the two of you could spend alone onboard this rowdy ship.
“Sure.” You reached for the towel beside you and tossed it in his direction, “Here you go, buddy!”
“Thank–” Zoro started to reply before he registered your words. He looked at you, his face contorted in what you could only describe as disgust, “Ha?!”
You smirked at how readily he took your bait, watching him closely as he wiped off his sweat and stalked toward you. He placed his hands on the bench on either side of you, caging you in as he bent forward to bring his face close to yours, “What did you just call me?”
“What, you don't like my new nickname for you, buddy?” You taunted, fully realizing that this would piss him off even further.
“Oh, am I your buddy, now?” He pressed his body even closer to yours, an intense look in his eyes as he said, “Well, would a buddy do this, then?”
Your heart danced in victory when his lips finally captured yours in a hungry kiss, and you wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him down onto the bench.
Maybe you should rile him up more often.

Luffy
Luffy was sitting at his usual spot at the figurehead when you approached him.
The conversation you had with Nami earlier still plagued your mind. She had told you that men hated to be called “buddy” by their significant other, but you were pretty sure that Luffy wouldn’t mind at all. He had liked all of the nicknames you gave him so far, no matter how ridiculous they were. She laughed and disagreed, telling you that Luffy was a man after all, and there was no way he would not be affected in some way.
So, that’s how you ended up climbing the stairs to the figurehead, on your way to test Nami’s theory.
“Hey, buddy!” You called out to Luffy.
His head tilted in confusion as he turned to face you, before replying uncertainly, “Hey to you too… buddy.”
Well, how the table had turned. You didn’t expect him to call you "buddy” back. And you didn’t like it. At all.
“Ugh.” You groaned as you sat down beside him, “Forget that. Please don’t call me buddy.”
He pouted, “Hey, you said it first!”
You chuckled and caressed his cheek, your thumb lightly grazing over his scar, “My bad, turned out I don’t like it when you called me that.”
“Well, I don’t like it either.” He shrugged as he admitted, “It made me feel like I was just your friend. And I’m not… right?”
So Nami was right. It did affect him.
“You’re right, I’m sorry." You smiled, somehow filled with a strange satisfaction, as you pulled him in for a quick kiss, "You're definitely more than just my buddy, Lu.”
You kept his face close to yours as you said, “I promise I won’t call you buddy ever again if you promise not to call me buddy too.”
Luffy laughed before closing the gap between you again, “Deal!”

̗̗̀̀➛ Corner booth
warnings: tooth-rotting fluff
wc: 400~
SYNOPSIS: really smart cute nerdy boy asks you out?
an: just started watching criminal minds, why not write for spencer.
The cozy café was filled with the comforting scents of cinnamon and coffee, a welcome warmth against the crisp air outside. You slid into the corner booth across from Spencer, watching him as he fidgeted with a sugar packet. His fingers trembled just slightly as he ripped it open and poured it into his tea, the motion a little more careful than usual.
“You know, there’s a 70% chance that people who meet in coffee shops consider it their most romantic memory,” he said, stirring his tea without looking up. “I, um… thought that was interesting.”
You tilted your head, grinning. “Spence, are you trying to tell me this is romantic?”
His cheeks flushed, and he stammered out a laugh, finally meeting your eyes. “What? No! I mean—maybe? I don’t know. It could be… if you wanted it to be?” His voice trailed off as he pressed his lips together, clearly regretting how that came out.
You couldn’t help but reach over, resting your hand on top of his. His eyes dropped to the table as if the contact was too much to process, but he didn’t pull away.
“Relax, genius,” you said softly, your thumb brushing the back of his hand. “It’s definitely romantic.”
The blush spread up his neck, and his lips parted like he was about to respond, but the words got stuck. He took a deep breath, his fingers twitching under yours before he turned his hand palm-up, gently lacing his fingers with yours.
“I really like spending time with you,” he finally said, his voice quieter now. “More than anyone else. And I was wondering if maybe… we could do this more often? Not just coffee, but other things too?”
Your heart ached at the vulnerability in his tone. He looked so unsure, like he was bracing himself for rejection.
“Spence,” you said, leaning closer. “Are you asking me out?”
His hair fell into his face as he ducked his head, a small, embarrassed smile tugging at his lips. “Yeah. I guess I am.”
“Well, it’s a yes,” you said, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. “So you can stop looking so nervous. Unless…” You paused, a playful smile tugging at your lips. “You like me holding your hand.”
His smile grew, and he glanced up at you, golden-brown eyes soft and full of something unspoken. “Maybe I do,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

It's just a papercut... (Drabble)
Summary: Mission one-on-one with Bucky? It's been done before. So why is this one different? Why is he acting weird and not letting me storm off in a rage at his cold shoulder? Also, was the one bed necessary?
Pairing: Grumpy Bucky x Avenger Reader (Enemies to lovers)
Word Count: 7000+ (It's a long one...)
A/N: I've been spending a lot of my time on Character ChatGPT AI, and a secret agent conversation made me say, " Yeah, I need to put this into a Bucky fanfic." So here we are🥰 Did it turn a lot more emotional than I planned? Yes. Do I regret it? No. Enjoy, my loves!!
_____
“Jesus! The goal is to survive the mission, and from the likes of it, bullets aren’t even going to be the thing that finishes the job!” I shout over the whipping wind as Bucky maneuvers through cars in the foreign country while outrunning the guards we just escaped from on a motorcycle he stole in front of a shop.
“Shut it!” he shouts back, taking another sharp turn that has me clutching on as if one wrong blow of the wind will have me ending this chase with a case of road rash on my entire body. “I’m losing them.”
“And likely me with them,” I grumble, and he shoots me a quick look in the rearview mirror, showing that he heard my remark and didn’t care for it.
I look behind us and see one of the jackasses we were running from has joined us in motorcycle theft, and I curse under my breath as I come up with a plan.
“Goon, five o’clock!” I announce as I dig into my boot for a small handgun I keep hidden.
Bucky looks around and clocks him. His teeth grit together as he kicks the speed up, weaves through a few cars, and turns down a new street, but the man following seems to be just as skilled in bike chases.
“Still on you!” I shout and let out an annoyed groan, realizing that at some point in our mission, I’d lost my backup weapon.
“I see that!” Bucky groans, and as we pass a fruit stand on the street, he knocks it over with his metal hand, causing a traffic stop and the motorcyclist to have to drive over apples and pears, making him to lose his balance some.
However, it wasn’t effective enough. “I got it,” I sigh as Bucky takes another sharp turn, and I clutch onto him. “Do me a favor and try and stay straight for 5 seconds!” I complain, and he complies, although begrudgingly.
I point my fist towards the bike, and as the man makes mean eyes at me, I wiggle my fingers at him with a grin before shooting a taser shock out of the widow bite Nat gifted me.
They shoot across and cause his entire bike to seize at the overload of electricity. He flies off the bike as it stutters and gives Bucky and me a clean escape down an alley.
A few alleys later and a quiet spot away from the chaos that had just ensued, Bucky and I hop off the bike and hide it behind a dumpster. I catch my breath as I throw my backpack over my shoulder and watch as he covers the bike more with the lid of the trash before grabbing his own pack.
“We need to lay low for the night,” I note, adjusting my backpack and looking into the dead-end alley.
He sighed, taking in the area, and I could see the pistons firing in his head. “There’s a hotel not far from here that’ll work. Not shitty, but also not anything fancy.” He immediately starts stalking away, not waiting for me to follow.
I huff in annoyance as he leaves me, and I fasten my backpack, buckling it across my chest before jogging to catch up with his long strides.
We don’t say much as we get to the hotel. Both of our minds coming down from the adrenaline and running through the last pieces of the mission.
While in the lobby of the hotel, I get a call and move to take it, seeing it’s Steve checking in, and I leave Bucky to handle the check-in process.
“Got it. We’ll head to the airport in the morning,” I nod and turn around to see Bucky confirming something with the clerk, and I turn back to the phone.
When he finishes checking in (fake IDs with real payment thanks to Stark’s ways), he turns and waves his hand toward the elevator in a quick action.
“Yeah. We’re fine,” I note, feeling a stitch in my side but not wanting to check just how bad the damage is until I’m behind a closed door. “He’s being a dick as per usual,” I chuckle lightly as I start my walk to the elevators. “No, Steve. I don’t need you to call him and reprimand him. You know-... Seriously, Steve. Leave it… I said it as a joke more than anything-” He cuts me off again, ready to always put Bucky in his place with the cold shoulder he seems to love to give to only me.
When I make it to the elevator, where Bucky is holding the door impatiently for me, I quickly say, “Losing you! Getting in an elevator so I can’t-” There’s a protest on the other end. “What was that? It’s cutting out.” I say in stuttered beats to play it off before hanging up. “Steve says hi,” I say to Bucky as I lock my phone and shove it in my back pocket.
“Sure,” he says back, and I’m not sure if it’s unconvinced or unbothered… or both. Either way, his face is still stoic.
“You really need to lighten up,” I sigh in a deep breath, annoyed that he never relents his tough guy act around me.
“Don’t feel like.”
“Do you ever?”
The elevator is silent. The only sound is the mechanics of the metal box moving up. It eventually dings, and as I go to step forward, I grimace slightly so as I step wrong, causing pain to go up my side, but I quickly brush it off.
“What was that?” Bucky says behind me as he steps off the elevator last.
“What was what?” I ask, looking carefully at the room numbers and acting ignorant.
“That look. You flinched.”
“Yeah, no,” I shake my head. “Your eyesight must be getting worse with age.”
“My eyesight is fine,” he grumbles, pulling my arm back as I pass the room, realizing he never told me the number. “We’re here,” he turns to the door and presses the key card to it. The color changes from red to green, giving us access.
“I call the shower first,” I shout, shoving him out of the way and unbuckling my backpack as I rush into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me and locking it.
All I hear is an exasperated sigh on the other side and a shuffle of footsteps as he shuts the door, locks up, and moves into the room.
I let out a sigh of exhaustion and relief to be done for the day and turned the water on to warm up. If there is one thing I’ve learned about going on missions with Bucky, it’s that the man’s superhearing is just an excuse for him to be nosy. He listens to almost EVERYTHING.
So, with the water running and him hopefully distracted by the hotel views, I undress and focus on the shower. As soon as I took my shirt off, I was shown exactly what I worried was the problem.
Down my side is a semi-jagged cut going up my rib cage. Close to four inches long, if not less, but angry and red. I hiss and quickly bite my lip so as not to make another sound. It’s not bleeding anymore, which tells me it’s not deep, so with the proper cleaning and care, it’ll be fine in a few days. I use my time in the shower to clean it and wash the rest of the day away with it.
When I come out, I rummage through my bag for a first aid kit. I usually pack a travel-size one given the job, but I can’t find it in my pack. I change into a pair of clean shorts and a tank top I packed (light and takes up minimal space) before checking in the mirror to make sure my cut wasn’t prominent through the light-colored tank. When I feel comfortable enough that Bucky won’t ask questions, I straighten and fight the soreness that’s taking over my body now that I’m not going 100mph.
I walk out, and when I see that Bucky is lying back, arms over his eyes on a king-size bed, I immediately take in the fact that it’s the only bed in the room.
“Um,” I start, hands out as I assess the space. “What’s this?” I ask.
“A bed,” Bucky answers simply and sits up tiredly as he looks at me, leaning back on his forearms. “You ran straight into the bathroom before I could tell you, or you saw for yourself.”
I cross my arms and flinch again when I graze my cut, but I roll my shoulders as if the full-body soreness was the only issue.
“Well, did we not have another option or-”
“What was that?” he cuts me off.
“What was what?” I look right at him and furrow my eyebrows.
“You made that face again.”
I roll my eyes. “I’m sore,” I shrug, scoffing and even I know I’m a horrible actress right now, so I don’t make eye contact.
“That’s not a sore grimace. That’s something else,” he sits up straight now and tilts his head down, assessing me.
“Stop that.” My arms tightening around me under his gaze only makes a smirk appear. “Stop. It’s weird.”
“No, what’s weird is why you’re being so weird,” he remarks with a face.
“Good one,” I sass, turning and going to his backpack now.
“Hey, what are you doing?” He stands quickly from the bed and looks at me over my shoulder as I unzip his bag.
“I think I put something of mine in here. I can’t find it in my bag,” I note, dunking my hand into his things. He steps up, pulling my shoulders to get away.
“Stop going through my stuff. You’re worse than Sam,” he notes, tugging me away, although gentler than how he is typically.
“I just need-” I feel the small plastic box I’m looking for and tug it out, quickly holding it behind my back. “Nevermind. I found it.”
“What are you talking about-”
“Nothing! Just give me one minute. I need to brush my teeth,” I jab a thumb behind my shoulder as I walk backward to the bathroom, his steps matching mine. “I’ll be out in five minutes,” I note quickly as I turn on my heel and run back into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me and locking it again.
Instead of seeing the door handle budge like I expected, he bangs a fist on the wooden barrier.
“Y/N, open the damn door! What the hell did you take out of my bag?”
“My toothbrush!” I lie. “I must have gotten our bags mixed up when I packed them.
“How could you do that? Yours is brown, and mine’s black,” he notes.
“A very dark brown,” I note, lifting my tank top and sitting on the bathroom counter to get a better look in the mirror of my cut. “Just give me a second-”
“You’re being weirder than normal,” he groans in frustration on the other side.
“Yeah, well, get used to it,” I hiss as I put the sanitizer spray on it and bite my knuckle to suppress the pained groan I want to let out. “Jesus,” I mumble under my breath, but the next thing I know, the door is swinging open, and Bucky’s staring at its handle in confusion before back at me. “Hey!” I look at the door and back at him. “They’re going to charge us for that.”
His eyes immediately go from annoyed and over it to concerned and confused.
“What the hell is that?” He points at my stomach, where I’m frozen on top of the counter, shirt lifted, showing my entire torso and cut on full display.
“A paper cut,” I say after a moment of trying to come up with an excuse. Why a paper, out of all things, left my brain, I don’t know. But it did, and here we are.
His concerned face drops some, and he deadpans from my injury to me before marching to me and turning me at my shoulders to face him and get a better view.
“When did this happen?”
“Wild guess, but likely when the guards we fought to get out pulled a knife on me and played dirty,” I sigh, realizing I wasn’t talking myself out of this one anytime soon. “But that could be a stretch,” I add.
He again looks up at me from my injury with an incredulous and agitated look.
“Let me see,” he sighs, bending down to get a better look and looking at the injury from a head-on angle.
“It’s just a scratch, Barnes. I’ll be good as new after a little disinfectant and ointment. Nothing a bandaid can’t fix,” I brush off, turning on the counter to grab the kit.
He stops me in my turn by placing a hand on my knee and turning me back around to where my legs hang off the counter. I’m sitting with him in between my legs.
“They used a serrated knife,” he notes, taking the first aid kit out of my hand and opening it, instantly getting to work as if I wasn’t doing it myself two seconds ago.
“Um, excuse me, but I can-”
“I know the things you can do, Y/N. You don’t have to tell me,” he says sternly, grabbing gauze and another bottle of something I didn’t know the contents of and tipping it onto the gauze before bending down again. This time, his eyes found mine as he looked up at me from his now crouched position. “This is going to sting. That sanitizer you were using before is shit. This one actually does the job,” he notes, and I’m a little stunned by the turn of events. “Ready?”
Never in my life did I think Bucky Barnes would be this gentle and considerate with me, but I’m not going to stop a good thing from happening.
“I don’t think it can hurt more than the knife itself,” I smirk and nod when he gives me a look. “Yeah, yeah. Do your thing, Doc.” I gesture to him, looking up at the ceiling as I prepare for the sting.
I don’t feel it instantly, and just as I’m about to ask him what he’s doing, the cool liquid hits my cut, and I hiss, grabbing his wrist in a tight hold out of instinct as I hold him back. “Jesus H. Christ,” I grit through my teeth. “What the hell kind of acid did you just put in-?”
“It’s Banner-strength disinfectant,” he cuts me off, gently dabbing the cut even as I hold his wrist. His touch is soft, but the sting is anything but. “You grabbed my first aid kit. I had him make it since you tend to get hurt easily, and we’re not in the cleanest country.” He’s fully concentrated on my cut.
“What?” I asked, surprised, grabbing the kit's container and seeing that it indeed was not mine. I brush over the fact he had Bruce make it and packed it specifically for me as I look over at my bag, still slumped against the wall from my rush to take a shower, and realize I must have accidentally unpacked my own.
“Relax. Tensing doesn’t help,” he adds, bringing his free hand to my thigh and giving a light squeeze to distract me. I hiss again as he pads over an agitated area. His face drops some, and he gives me a look. “Y/N, why didn’t you tell me about this as soon as you knew? This was not far from being infected in a way that could have been a lot worse than just an irritating sting.”
“When was I supposed to tell you?” I sass, throwing my head back on the mirror as I focus on anything but the pain in my side. “As soon as we got off the bike, we headed here. You didn’t say a word to me, and I was in my own head. Honestly, I didn’t even realize it was there until we were checking in and I was on the phone with Steve. Adrenaline must have kept me from realizing it.”
He mumbles something under his breath, and I hear the word, reckless in the middle of it.
“Watch yourself,” I warn, kicking my leg a touch, skimming his rib cage. “There can easily be two injured people in this room.”
“No need for both of us to get stupid injuries,” he grumbles.
I scoff and shove his hand away from me, jumping off the counter as he stands and glares at me.
“Sorry for getting stabbed,” I sneer up at him, stepping into his space. “I’ll make sure to ask the bad guys next time to keep the knives at home. Oh! Or better yet,” I exaggerate. “I’ll tell them my partner said I’m not allowed to get into fights with men triple my size, so if they can just play gentle so I don’t end up with any battle scars, that would be greatly appreciated.” I smile wide and fake before dropping it and brushing by him to the bedroom.
I catch the tail end of his eyes rolling before I hear him stomping behind me.
“I need to finish patching you up. If it’s not done properly, you can get sick.” He comes up behind me, but I stop abruptly, and he runs into my back before holding my shoulders to steady himself. I turn to him, not breaking the space.
“I know how injuries work, Barnes. This isn’t my first time in the field, although I’m sure you believe otherwise,” I scoff in anger. “Just,” I put my hands up, stepping away in frustration and groaning. “I’m going to get some air,” I try and push past him to leave, but his hand wraps around my arm and holds me shoulder to shoulder by his side before I can get my feet past him.
“No. You’re going to let me finish patching you up. Now…” he stares at me with his Sergeant's eyes. “Sit. Down.” I struggle to fight my stubborn retort, but he sees it brewing and raises an eyebrow in challenge.
I groan in protest loudly and pull my arm out of my grip before moving to the edge of the bed and sulkingly wait for him to finish his job- that I didn’t ask him to do, by the way!
“Good girl,” he mutters with a smartass smirk, and I take a breath in to yell something at him, but he goes back to the bathroom to grab the kit we left behind.
“Cyborg headed-ass, caveman, son of a bit-” I mumble, and he comes back in, shooting me a look that says, ‘really?’. “Oh, sorry, did you hear that?” I say with fake regret.
He rolls his eyes and crouches again by my knees to get a better angle at the cut, and I lean back, my hands flat against the comforter as he works quietly, and I stare up at the ceiling, trying to ignore the warmth of his hands on my stomach when he’s been nothing but cold to me.
As he’s patting the tape over the piece of gauze he fashioned over my cut, I look at him calculatingly. He notices my gaze on him and awkwardly starts putting his things up, sneaking glances at my stare here and there.
“What?” he finally asks. “Stop staring at me.”
Instead of an answer, I just stare harder and raise an eyebrow, tilting my head to the side as I analyze him deeper.
“Cut it out,” he growls, standing and moving to put the kit on the counter. “You’re creeping me out.”
I let out a single laugh and shook my head before lowering my tank top and looking out the window. “You’re so fucking confusing,” I state, standing as I straighten my clothes.
“I’m confusing?” he asked rhetorically. “You’re fucking confusing.”
“Come up with your own lines,” I throw an exasperated hand out, waving him off. “I’m getting air.”
I don’t know what provokes him, but he steps in front of me, his towering figure shadowing over me.
“No,” he says, looking at me sternly.
“I don’t remember asking,” I sidestep him and move to the door. I manage to open it maybe a foot before it’s slammed in my face, and I feel Bucky’s chest pressed to my back. I look up, and his hand is splayed flat on the door.
“I said no,” he says lowly. His voice is just over my shoulder, and I hold back the shiver that threatens to take over my body.
“And I said, fuck off,” I say just as lowly, looking up at him, tilting my head back. “Move.”
“We need to talk.”
“And I need to put a good three blocks of this city between us so I don’t add another person to the stabbed today club. I’d rather stay on Steve’s good side.” I jut my arm back to elbow him in the ribs, but he dodges it with a smirk.
“Real mature,” he sasses, and I can see a touch of playfulness in his features, and that makes me even more furious.
“You’re one to fucking talk!” I turn and shove him in the chest, and he relents, putting his hands up in the air as I shove repeatedly in vexation. Each shove and each curse I send his way has him taking one slight step back with a grin. “Stop smiling!” I grunt as I push him harder, and he laughs. He fucking laughs!
My eye twitches, and my hits become more forceful. Nothing close to what I’m capable of, but I’m not looking for a full-on brawl. I just want to smack him enough to wipe that stupid smirk off his face.
“Y/N,” he says calmly in between hits to his rock-solid chest. A chest, I’m sure, will give me bruises if I keep this up.
“No! You don’t get to talk!” I point at him after shoving him one more time and successfully making him falter a few steps back at the power behind it. “I’m walking out of this room to get some air, and you’re going to stay right fucking there. Right there!” I point to the floor under his feet. “And not keep me from leaving this God damn suffocating room. Got it?”
I know my eyes are wild, and I know the emotions I’m feeling are written clear as day on my face because his sly smirk falters, and he takes a deep breath in, hands still up in surrender.
“I’m sorry,” he mutters out as his gaze falls to his feet.
“What?” I ask, shocked and slightly out of breath from exerting myself.
“I’m sorry,” he says a touch more clearly as he clears his throat and looks up, hands coming down and eyes avoiding mine.
I blink a few times and throw my hands up. “I can’t do this.” I let out a breath and turned back to the door.
“Y/N, please don’t,” he says, and I stop. I surprise myself, but I stop, turning back to him slowly.
“Why?” There’s a long pause that follows my question, and I wonder whether Bucky even knows why he’s asking this. “Genuinely Bucky... Why are you so insistent on me staying in this room right now?
He runs a nervous hand over his beard and shifts his weight to one foot as he throws one hand up in a single wave.
“I don’t need you getting hurt again,” he states, still avoiding eye contact.
My eyebrows narrow in confusion, and I cross my arms, popping my hip to the side as I stare at him. “We’re in a hotel. Not a battlefield.”
“It’s better we stay in here than wander around. The guys who were after us are likely still hunting us, and it’s best we don’t show our faces in public spaces,” he notes.
Ok, that’s a logical reason, but something tells me this is a more emotional reason on his end. He’s not sharing everything, though…
“Ok…” I drag out and look at the balcony. “Then I’ll go out there.”
I walk promptly to the balcony, surprisingly not being stopped by him as I brush past him and jiggle the door handle, finding it stuck. “Fucking hell,” I grumble under my breath as I pull the handle and push it up and down to try and get it to work.
A hand comes behind me and takes the door handle for me. I stare at it, not turning to acknowledge how Bucky expertly pushes it just right for it to open.
“I had the same issue,” he says, pulling his hand back and nodding his head to the bathroom. “I’m going to take a shower.” He steps back, quiet and sinking back into his usual stand-offish behavior, but now with more nerves and awkwardness.
I give a grunt in acknowledgment and shut the balcony door behind me before sitting in a shitty lawn chair. I don’t turn to see if he’s still standing there watching me, but instead, I focus on the city view in front of me. It’s not a well-off country, so the views aren’t more than rundown buildings and vendors in the street shouting for people to buy their things over their neighbors, but it’s fresh air away from the man that makes my blood boil.
__________
Fifteen minutes later, I feel a little calmer. Although still annoyed, I’m more confused than anything. Why the hell was he acting so strange, and why do I feel like some kind of serious conversation was going to-
“Y/N?” I hear the door open with a creak and turn to see Bucky with wet hair, a change of clothes, and soft eyes focusing on the door that’s obviously broken. “God, this place has gone down in quality,” he notes, leaving the door cracked as he comes onto the balcony with me.
“Been here before?” I ask, turning back to the view ahead.
“Once like 8 years ago,” he nods and moves to stand by the railing, his arms crossed over the edge of it, and his gaze now focused on the same place mine is. “Must have gotten new management.”
It’s silent for almost five minutes after that. No words, no looks, no sounds. Just silence outside of the city noise. I debate, standing and going back into the room if he’s going to continue to go radio silent and not explain his strange behavior earlier, but just before I stand, he speaks up.
“I don’t know why,” he says, and a crease forms between my eyebrows. He continues to stare off into the city. I wait a few moments, and he continues. “I don’t know why you stress me out more than the others.”
Great. So that’s how this is going to go.
I stand and silently move to go back into the room, but his hand clasps around my wrist.
“Please, just let me find the words,” he asks, and I can hear the plea in his voice.
I look back and up at him and his eyes are in the puppy dog form I’ve seen only a select few times. Ones that have never been directed at me but have held no truer emotion than requisition.
“Ok…” I drag out, moving back to the lawn chair and sitting quietly as he drops my wrist almost hesitantly and leans against the railing, fidgeting with his hands. I’ve never seen him like this, so I give him the space.
He takes a deep breath through his nose and closes his eyes before just unloading everything.
“I don’t like seeing you get hurt,” he starts. “I mean, I don’t like seeing any of my friends get hurt. It’s no decent person’s interest to watch friends and family get harmed, but it’s like a nagging in my head. No,” he shakes his head, trying to find the right words. “It’s like having pins and needles surrounding your lungs, and every time you try and take a breath to come down from the terror- the pain of seeing them hurt- the needles poke and stab. Making it nearly impossible to take a deep breath and ground yourself. And that’s only a part of the pain that comes with it.”
I stare up at him. My eyes are likely wide as I take in what he’s saying. He glances at me once before looking back at his hands.
“I know I’m an asshole to you. I know that,” he says, cringing as if the truth behind it hurts him. “I don’t know why. At least, I say that to make myself not think about it longer than I can probably handle, but I’ve talked to my therapist about it, and she says it's a protective technique my brain finds more plausible than just dealing with the confusing feelings I have towards you.”
My eyes shift back and forth as if trying to understand the words.
“Feelings towards me?” I repeat. “Like annoyance?”
“No,” he sighs, and then he chuckles a soft laugh under his breath. “Well, yes. Sometimes you can be annoying, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find it endearing most of the time.”
My eyebrows raise at that. Where the hell is all this coming from?
I shake my head in disbelief and lean back in my chair. “Barnes, you’re giving me a bit of whiplash, and I’m not sure-”
“I like you.”
My mouth is still open from where my sentence was going, and I blink once. Then twice. Then, a third time, as I tried to understand if I just heard him right. Because if he meant it as a friend, I’m shocked. But if he meant it otherwise… I’m hallucinating.
His eyes find mine, and this time, he doesn’t look away. He keeps eye contact, and I can feel him trying to read me.
“I-Is there more to that sentence?” I ask, my brain trying to make sense of the situation and short-circuiting ultimately.
“Yes, but from the looks of it, you’re still trying to translate those three words.”
“Good observation,” I nod, pursing my lips and sinking into my chair.
“I’ve been known to make them,” he smiles a tight-lipped smile. I’m actually grateful for his quip at this moment.
“Bucky, you have to understand that those words don’t make sense with how you treat me-”
“I know, and I’m sorry,” he pushes off the railing and steps forward just in front of my chair. “God, I’m so sorry. I don’t even know why it’s taken me this long to apologize for the way I’ve acted this long, but for some reason… When we were fighting today, I saw a man get the jump on you. I was seconds from leaving my own fight and coming straight to you to handle it for you, but you quickly turned the situation around. It wasn’t the first time I’d seen you in that scenario, yet something about it…” He pauses, looking up at the sky, throwing a hand through his hair. “It freaked me out. It freaked me out far more than it has in the past.”
He looks at me in a sincere way and moves to sit in the busted up, rusted, and metal patio chair that looks like it very well could have been here when he came 8 years ago. It creaks as he turns it in and angles his body toward mine. His elbows rest on his knees, and he looks down at his hands again. And as he talks, I realize he’s breaking it down not just for me but for himself—these emotions and sudden changes.
“Maybe it’s because I knew if I didn’t get to you, you were on your own. We didn’t have a backup. I couldn’t call Steve or Nat, or Wanda to come in and help where I couldn’t. And then the actualization that if I couldn’t get to you, if no one was there to back you up, there was a chance I’d end up regretting everything all because I can’t seem to come to terms with my feelings.” His eyes find mine again. “And then that cut,” his eyes drag from mine down my torso to where my knife wound lays under my tank top. “It was like a final piece to knock some sense into my head.”
He looks at me, and I can’t explain it, but I want to hold him when he looks at me like that.
“Seeing you hurt reminded me… You’re human. You aren’t invincible even if you can take on three men triple your size attacking you at once. It’s a skill I’m glad and impressed that you have, but it doesn’t guarantee someone won’t get the jump on you again, and I’m not sure I can handle that.”
I stay in silence for a moment, taking in the information and processing it all. I must have been quiet for a while because a soft “Y/N?” makes me look up from where I’ve been staring blankly at the balcony.
“You ok?” he asks gently, carefully.
I nod and run a hand up and down my arm from a slight breeze blowing with the sun setting in the distance.
“Trying to…” I started, but I didn’t know what words were meant to follow. “I’m a little shocked,” I say, eventually looking at him.
“I can’t say I blame you. It’s a 180 from our normal conversations,” he takes a deep breath and smiles softly at him. “Do you need a minute?”
I shake my head. “No…” Then I scrunch my nose. “Well, maybe.”
“That’s ok,” he nods, sitting back in his chair, and it weakly groans in protest. He takes in the fact my legs are up to my chest now, and I’ve wrapped my arms around myself. “We should go inside. It’ll get cold soon.” He stands and motions for me to head in first, then offers a hand to help me stand up.
I look at it before taking it, standing, and walking in with my arms still around my middle. As soon as we’re in, I turn and catch us both off guard by being chest-to-chest with him after he shuts the balcony door. I don’t move, though, and neither does he.
“Since honesty seems to be the focus of the night,” I look up at him. “I’ve always admired you…” His face softens at that. “But I’d be lying to both of us if I said how you treated me didn’t affect that original feeling.” He nods in understanding and slightly cringes to himself.
“I wouldn’t hold it against you.”
“Why did you- Why did you not like me at first?”
He shrugs a touch, but there’s no uncertainty behind it. “I saw you as young and naive. I saw you as someone who seemed to make almost anyone love you, and all you had to do was exist around them. I think a broken part of me was envious and confused by that trait, and I used it as a reason to be hateful to you instead of taking advantage of the kindness you freely give and allowing myself the gift of that. I didn’t think I deserved that.” He sighs, his hands going into the pockets of his shorts. “I convinced myself that your kindness was nativity when I’ve learned quite quickly that you’re anything but naive.”
I sigh, nodding my head as I turn and move to sit on the edge of the bed. “You wouldn’t be the first person to misinterpret my kindness. It’s why I tend to fall into becoming a stubborn ass when people don’t appreciate that kindness. Hence why I haven’t been the perfect person in this relationship myself,” I motion between us. “I should have recognized where you could have been coming from and continued to kill you with pleasantries, but you didn’t seem to respond well to it.”
“It wasn’t your job to recognize that or fix it. It was mine to stop being a stubborn ass myself and talk to you rather than make assumptions,” he shifts on his feet. “I thought I was self-preserving when I was actually self-sabotaging. Something I’m still working on recognizing.”
“It’s a process,” I sigh, knowing the steps well enough myself. I consider the conversation and take a deep breath, relaxing in my spot as I come to my conclusion. “Bucky?” He looks at me, hopeful and attentive. “I forgive you.”
I watch as his body stiffens at the declaration before slowly relaxing.
“I don’t expect you to just be fine with everything I’ve done the last-”
“Many years?” I chuckle, lighting the mood. “Yeah, but why would I want to waste any more time when I get it? I get your reasoning, and I can’t say I blame you.”
“But you should blame me,” he moves to sit on the comforter next to me, our knees brushing.
I shrug, turning to face him better. “But I don’t.” He starts to talk, and I cover his mouth with my hand. His icy blue eyes looked down at the motion before back at me. “I swear to God, Barnes. You take two steps forward, and it’s like you feel guilty for making progress and regress.” He flinches slightly at my words, and I feel I struck a nerve. “Sorry, I shouldn’t-” I take my hand back.
“No, you’re right. It’s something I’m still working on. I mean, small things are easy to accept and move on, but this,” he gestures to me. “A part of me doesn’t believe I deserve your forgiveness after the caseload of shit I’ve given you, but-”
“But it’s my forgiveness to give, so I’ll decide if I want to give it…” I look at him as if waiting for him to connect the dots. He smiles and nods as he looks down at his hands. “You catching on?”
“I’m catching on,” he looks up at him again. “Thank you.”
“You're welcome.”
We look at each other for a little while, and the atmosphere is new. It’s not tense. It’s not awkward. It’s not uncomfortable. It’s like we’ve come to a point we’ve been actively avoiding for years, and it turned out to be a really nice point.
“So…” he starts, and I decide to break the seriousness of it all.
“Why is there only one bed, Bucky?” I ask with a smirk, turning and patting the comforter we’re sitting on.
He looks at it with me and smiles with a laugh. “It wasn’t intentional, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“Feels a touch intentional. Not letting me leave the room or demanding I stay close kinda plays into the fact you’d be forced into sharing a bed with me. Another way to secure me close by,” I tease.
“Or…” he drags out, and his hand comes up, pushing a wayward hair behind my ear and casually taking his hand back. “The receptionist told me they didn’t have any two-bedroom rooms available right now because there is a festival in town this weekend, and they’re booked up.”
“Seems legit, but not sure if I believe you,” I grin a touch bashful and look around at the room as if I’m surveying it and not slightly melting at his touch.
“Believe me or not,” he shrugs, standing and stretching. “Either way, we’re sharing a bed tonight, sweetheart.” He winks. He fucking winks at me and moves to the other side of the bed, getting his side ready for sleep.
This new side of him is not one I was ready for, but seeing it makes me think about what I haven’t gotten to experience sooner. So I say that.
“I knew you were a lady's man back in the day, but I never thought I’d see the flirt you were rumored to be,” I turn in my spot on the bed and look at him from the end of the bed.
“I don’t flirt with everyone,” he says, throwing the blanket back and adjusting the pillows.
“Well, yeah, obviously, but-”
“Just people I’m attracted to,” he says, cutting me off with a telling grin. “And women I’d like to flirt back.”
My mouth drops, and I let out a laugh. A genuine laugh.
“Was that a move? Did you just make a move on me?” I smile like a teenager at him, partially in disbelief and partially in interest.
“Did it work?” he chuckles, sitting on the edge and scooting into the bed but not fully getting in it.
I shake my head with a smile and laugh again. “Honestly, I have to say yes.”
His smile widens at my confession, and he leans back on the headboard, two pillows propped behind him.
“So you’re saying I have a chance if I keep it up?”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, cowboy. It’s not going to take just a flashy wink and a flirty comment to get my attention fully. I like to be sought after.”
“Good to know.”
“Is it?” I ask incredulously with a smirk as I move to my side of the bed and throw the covers back enough to sneak under them.
“Can’t give away all my plans,” he shakes his head, and I turn off my bedside lamp.
“Wouldn’t want you to. I like being surprised,” I lay down and nuzzled into my pillow before turning on my side and looking up at him. “Must say, your surprise tonight was a pretty good start.”
“You think?”
“I think,” I nod and debate on my next idea, but I decide what the hell? Who’s it hurting? “Feel free to say no, but if we are sharing the same bed, I tend to be a cuddler unconsciously, so if we-”
“Yes,” he says simply a large grin he doesn’t seem to care to hide marks his handsome features. “Yes, please.” He nods, moving under the blanket.
“That answer was a little too fast to believe that this hotel didn’t have other beds.”
“I don’t know what you mean,” he shimmies under the blanket, and I feel his leg brush mine.
“Listen, normally I wouldn’t, but I learn I sleep best when I’m with another person, so-”
“You don’t have to give me a reason, doll. I’m happy to lend the support.” His arms are quickly wrapped around my middle and I’m turned to where my back is pressed against his front and I’m not going to lie… It’s a perfect fit. “Night, Y/N.”
“Night, Bucky.” I smile putting my hands on his around my middle and laying back into him.
This was a good start to something possibly more…
Ending A/N: I wouldn't be opposed to doing one more scene for this little drabble, but let me know if that's something you guys would be interested in :)

Say goodbye - L. Heeseung
Pairing: heeseung X fem reader
Warnings: mature content.
Genre: 18+, ex’s.
Word count: 3k+
-
Ten at night, you found yourself standing outside your ex’s apartment, an apartment you used to frequent on days off or when he planned dates for the two of you at his place, that used to be your second home, but you messed all of that up when you broke up with him seven months ago.
Thinking back now, you realize just how much of a mistake you made, but you were not in a good head space at the time. That being said, it still wasn’t a valid reason for you to dump him. He was the only person who kept all your little pieces together. Even when you were in tough times, he was able to make everything better. Heeseung was the most devoted boyfriend to you. He was your rock. He was literally your everything.
But at some point, you decided to hide your worries from him and keep them to yourself. You knew he’d always be there for you to help you through everything, but you didn’t want to burden him all the time with your issues.
Clearly, you weren’t thinking straight.
As time went on, it only got tougher on you, and hiding things just became the norm. There was a lot going on, and at that time, it was all just too much for you to handle, and you didn’t want to waste his time while you were still figuring things out.
He deserved someone who knew what they wanted and how to communicate what they wanted, not someone who easily changed with the wind and carried too much baggage. So you decided to call it quits with him so that he could find someone who was good for him because you were far from that.
But after these long seven months, you were regretting your decision to leave him. Hell, you didn’t even want to do it in the first place, but you thought it’d be best for you and him.
And that’s all you ever wanted, was the best for him.
He was clearly hurt and shocked when you told him those heartbreaking words, and the look of sadness and confusion on his face made your heart break into pieces.
And it broke into even tinier pieces when he tried everything to get you to change your mind.
“We can spend some time apart, but I’ll always be here for you.”
“I can give you some space.”
“Maybe a little break is all we need.”
He really didn’t want to lose you, but you had other plans, ones you thought would make his life and yours easier. If anything, it only made it worse. It took you too long to realize it months had already passed, and for all you know, he could have someone new by now.
You’d text him weekly, and he’d never respond. You’re surprised he hadn’t blocked you yet, but a tiny little piece of you was grateful that he didn’t cause just seeing that he left your messages on seen was enough for you to hold out an ounce of hope.
You saw him three times since the breakup to pick up all your things. You quietly entered his apartment, never sharing information about how you were feeling, nor did he, but he didn’t have to cause you could clearly see the animosity he held for you.
But who are you kidding? You broke up with him with no explanation other than you needing to sort things out. You’d be upset if someone left you like that, too. You realize how much of a shitty thing that was to do, and you’re so sorry for it.
All that being said you hoped he wouldn’t be too upset when he saw you standing outside his door this late at night.
You inhaled a deep breath and knocked on his door. Not even a minute later, you heard the latch click, and the door creaked open soon later, revealing your ex, the most handsome, sweet man you’ve ever seen in your entire life.
His eyes widened for a moment, surprised to see you there, but the shock quickly died down. The look of annoyance taking over his features was quite evident. “What are you doing here?” He asked, folding his arms over his chest and trying his best not to roll his eyes at that half-assed smile you gave him.

i was thinking of the ending where the reader moves on!! i was interested in what luna would think happened bc i thought she would see that lewis is still clearly in love with her mom but her mom obviously moved onto to fernando.
but i am biased to the ending where reader forgives lewis (bc lewis is my main man <3 hehe) so i really appreciate that perspective!! i do feel like even tho reader has forgiven and moved on by the time luna’s a teen, lewis would low key still carry that guilt. he seems emotionally driven for sure (to me) and he was dreading the day luna found out bc she eventually would, in the age of social media
i would love your thoughts on lewis’ perspective as well (either when it happened or when luna asks him about it) bc as someone who went thru something similar (we were never dating but it still hurt lmao) i still cannot wrap my head around the betrayal even tho it was years ago at this point. so seeing lewis still be in love w reader and truly regret his actions heals a part of me even tho this is fiction hahahahaha.
love your writing btw ❤️❤️❤️
ohhhh thank you so much! I also went through something similar (i guess that's why say something feels so raw to read and all over the place with emotions)
so you wanted to know how lewis would carry that guilt after losing the woman of his life? (evil laugh) it sparked me to write a bit, so here it goes: (keep in mind the post wreck my plans headcanons)
((also, written in the format you = reader))
Growing up, Luna had slowly become aware of her father's feelings for her mom. She knew the story, they had fallen out of love, divorced when you were pregnant with Luna. But as she became a pre-teen, and a teen, she started to really pay attention to the way Lewis looked at you. During her school games, Luna was a midfielder in football, she'd notice how Lewis' gaze would linger on you, the longing almost unbearable for a couple of seconds before he was able to scold his expression and look away. When Fernando arrived, wrangling Luna's younger siblings, Lewis would go back to his normal, polite self. When he'd drop Luna off at your house, Luna would notice the way Lewis stared from his car, looking at you and Fernando playing with the children in the backyard, using water balloons under the heat of the summer, how you'd embrace Luna and immediately let her join in the game. Luna started to grow aware of this, and by the age 15, she'd be completely sure that her dad still had feelings for you, and she would know that you had no feelings for him. Because the way Lewis looked at you was the way you looked at Fernando.
Luna decided to dig up, one night. She had a limited and monitored access to the internet ever since she was little, and with the years, she just wasn’t big on internet and social media, rather spending time with her siblings, her friends and family or her many hobbies. But with google, it didn’t take long for her to find a specific video. It was at a press conference, back when her dad was a racing driver, someone asked him what his thoughts were on his ex-wife, Luna’s mom, dating Fernando, a fellow racing driver.
Luna stared at her dad in the video, the dim in his eyes when he said his marriage had ended for unrelated reasons and that he was the only one to blame, since his loyalty as a husband had faltered and he was the one to fail the vows he had made to you. Luna closed her laptop with a slam. She wasn’t dumb. She was fifteen and loved English classes. She knew what he meant with loyalty faltering.
She got upset, she had never thought cheating was the reason for the divorce, not when you and Lewis had told her that they fell out of love. She grew moody for a couple of days, short tempered and rude, you and Fernando had thought it was only teenager moodiness, so you let Luna be. When she confronted you, two days later, she spilled the truth of what she had found out, Fernando, sensing the moment, took Vicenzo and Benny to his family’s place for the weekend, knowing you and Luna had a big conversation coming.
You explained to Luna what had happened, why you were the one to divorce Lewis. But you were kind, always reminding her that her dad had always been a good father, always taking care of Luna and how you and Lewis loved her no matter what. After that talk, Luna got calmer, but she asked you to not go to her father the following week as they had agreed on. Lewis was distraught when you called him to inform that Luna wasn’t going to his house that week and she didn’t wanna go camping as planned anymore. When you told him over the phone that Luna had found out… you could hear him crying.
After giving Luna a week to give her space, Lewis went to your house to find her. They decided to finally go on that camping trip under the condition that he’d answer all of Luna’s questions about what had happened.
She was silent for most of the trip. Once they arrived at the cabin, they sat in the backyard, Lewis lit up a bonfire and Luna and him sat around it, burning marshmallows in the fire.
“Do you regret it?” Luna asked, breaking the silence. Lewis exhaled for a second.
“Every waking moment,” His voice faltered.
“Why, then?” She muttered, looking straight into the fire.
“I don’t know. Back then I had been upset, having had a couple of bad seasons in Formula 1, feeling useless, feeling like I wasn’t able to do the one thing I knew how. I had a couple of drinks, and someone from my past showed up… And I made a mistake that cost me my happiness, my future and the love of my life. Looking back now, all of those were silly reasons for doing what I did. They weighed nothing compared to your mom and our marriage…” His voice was wet with tears and Luna didn’t have the heart to look at his face yet, “Your mom, she even tried to fix things for a few weeks after I confessed. But I could see… I could see the love she had for me dying more and more every single time. When we signed the divorce, she was already pregnant with you. We decided to become friends to co-parent for you.”
After some silence, Luna looked at Lewis, the tears in his face.
“Will you forgive me?”
“Of course,” She reached out, wiping his cheeks of tears. He closed his eyes, a weight leaving his shoulders at the acceptance and she hugged him. Lewis couldn’t help but see you in Luna, in her caring embrace and her forgiveness.
After a few quiet moments, Luna pulled back.
“How… How was life when you two were married? You know, before all this?” Luna asked, “Mom never talks about it.”
“Why do you wanna know, baby? It’ll only hurt you…”
“Because I have no idea how it was.”
So he told Luna about random things of those few years you were married. He told her how you’d draw and leave charcoal stains everywhere, and how upset he’d be, Luna would tell him you rarely ever use charcoal nowadays, but every few weeks Fernando buys you new colors of paint and asks you to paint him something. Luna told Lewis how all of Fernando’s offices are full of colorful paints you made him.
Everything Lewis told her, Luna would counter with how things were nowadays. And each time it hurt his heart a little. Fernando didn’t make you travel around the world anymore, Fernando helped you take care of the garden, supporting you most recent hobbies, Fernando who gifted you with a little rescue kitten, a scruffy little thing you had always wanted but didn’t get because the kids were too small back in the day.
Lewis started to see how he had failed you many times even when you were married, even before the cheating. How he had been unsupportive of your hobbies, of your career, of your wishes.
He knew he’d spend the rest of his life wishing he could come back to that one fateful night and never get in a hotel room with that woman. He’d know what to do now. He’d know how to go home straight to you, how to cherish you, how to support you.
But it was too late, and you had found someone who did all that without the need to make a mistake to value you for who you are.
note: damn, this really ran away from my hands too phew

You’re so good with these… whole band and crew first kiss?
Thank you!💗 I love doing them so keep throwing them at me haha
First kiss with each boy under the cut🫶🏻
Noah
I feel like Noah would invite you over to his place for dinner on a friday night. You'd eat together and drink some wine, then sit on his couch and talk. You'd offer him your help with the mess in kitchen. Noah would play some music while you start cleaning the dishes. After you put everything in the dishwasher, you lean back on the kitchen counter and watch Noah move closer to you, he'd gently pin you to the table with his hands on both your sides and then lowered his head to yours. He'd slowly rub his nose against yours, then he'd move his lips closer to yours in the slowest pace you could imagine, until he finally kissed you. First he'd give you some small kisses to see if you're okay, then he'd deepen the kiss and you'd wish he never pulls away.
Folio
My baby Folio, I feel like he'd wait for the right moment, but it would be too long for your liking. You'd try give him hints, look at his lips when he's talking or gently put your hand on his arm. But not a single hint is taken. So one day when you're hanging out and he's looking really good, his hair brushed back, his face freshly shaven, black tight t-shirt and his bike pants on, you can't help it and when you get a chance you gently grab his cheek and pull him in for a kiss. He'd be surprised for like a second and then kiss you right back, grabing you by your neck and regreting he didn't kiss you sooner.
Matt
Oh Matty boy would be so mesmerized by you, he'd want to kiss you ten seconds after meeting you. You'd take his breath away with your inteligence and beauty. He'd make sure that he has something to talk to you about before anyone else from the group can. So you two talk the whole night, jumping from topic to another one. Some small touches would be exchanged too, Matt's hand on your knee, your hand on his hand. He'd offer to walk you home from their place, hyping himself up the whole walk to your house. So when you say 'that's my door' he's stressed af and he speaks before he thinks 'can I kiss you?' and you say yes. He walks you back until your back touches the front door. His lips feel just right on yours, and I'll let you decide of you'd invite him inside or not, hehe.
Nick
Sweet sweet boy Nicky. After talking for some time he'd invite you to a BO local show, introduce you to the rest of the crew, show you around the backstage and spend time with you before it's time to go on stage. He'd be a happy bean that you get along with his friends and that he can take the next step with you. So when you two are alone in the bathroom to fix his hair before the show starts, he can't take his eyes off you. 'Can I maybe get a good luck kiss?' he'd ask and you'd gladly give him good luck kisses. When you pull away he puts your hair behind you ear and can't stop the smile forming on his face, that stays there until the show's over and he can kiss you again.
Jolly
So for Jolly I thought of something different, but I hope you like it. Jolly met you when he was visiting Sweden. You're a friend of a friend, someone that shouldn't have catch his eyes like you did. You got introduced at this little get together of a group of friends. You kept stealing glances the whole night, had some small talk and exchanged numbers, because Jolly wanted to see you again before he left. He'd take you out for a few times and it doesn't happen until the day before he has to leave. You're sitting at a bench in a park, listening to Jolly talking about the band and what's next for them. He says they're going on a european tour next month and that you could come with them for a few cities, because he really wants to see you again. When you agree he can't help it, he leans a bit towards you and waits for your reaction. And when you just smile and lean your head to meet his lips halfway he doesn't waste any more time and puts his mouth on yours.

Sirius Black x Reader
This came to me in a dream and I had to write it down! I've never posted any of my own works anywhere, but figured it's a short little one-shot that I may as well put out there even if no one ever reads it! If I feel inspired I might turn this into a proper fic, but idk yet.
Pairing: Sirius Black x Female!Reader (No use of Y/N)
A/N: set at Hogwarts, fake dating trope
Warnings: Swearing, Sirius isn't gay (even though Wolfstar is obviously canon lol)
Word count: 1401
*****
Barely catching her breath enough to mutter the password, the Gryffindor girl rushed into the common room, all windswept hair, flushed cheeks and wide eyes. She spotted the Marauders all lounging by the fire (except Peter - he was always off snogging Dorcus in a closet these days) and made a beeline straight for them. Remus was squashed awkwardly in an armchair, a book open against his long legs where they were draped over one arm and his back resting against the other. James was sitting up on one end of the adjacent couch, his transfiguration homework in his lap, with Sirius sprawled at the other end, legs stretched out in front of him, head tipped back and eyes closed, listening to the music emanating from the record player nearby.
She felt a twinge of regret when the cosy atmosphere broke as she stormed over, her gaze flicking over each of them before settling on Sirius, who had cracked an eye open to look at her, now standing on the carpet in front of the fire.
“Black, I need you to be my boyfriend.”
James and Remus both snapped their heads up at that, and Sirius’ eyebrows rose. “Excuse me?”
“Lucas Davis just asked me out again!” The three boys in front of her seemed to let out a simultaneous groan. They were almost as sick as she was of Davis, the irritating Gryffindor two years above them who had been hellbent on wooing her for almost four months now. Unlike James, who had been smitten with Lily since they were eleven and asked her out at least once a week, Davis was aggressive - cornering her in half-empty hallways only to speak over her, invading her personal space whenever he got the chance, and making creepy sexual innuendos anytime a teacher was out of ear-shot. At this point it didn’t even seem to be about her. He just liked the chase and enjoyed making girls squirm. Even girls who hated his guts.
“Just tell him to piss off”, James suggested with a shrug
“Oh jeez, thanks James! Why didn’t I think of that?” She rolled her eyes, “I’ve told him to piss off a hundred times, in a hundred different ways! But he’s relentless- convinced I’m playing ‘hard to get’ or some bullshit like that. The only thing I think would actually get the misogynistic bastard to leave me alone is if he thinks I’m already seeing someone. So,” she said, turning again to Sirius, “can you just pretend to be my boyfriend, Black?”
“Why me? Ask Remus - you two already spend all your time together, surely dating isn’t that much of a stretch!” She shook her head impatiently, “He’s gayer than Bowie and everyone knows it!”. The boy in question huffed a laugh, “Cheers, love.” She ignored him.
“Get James to do it then!” Sirius exclaimed, and the messy-haired boy next to him opened his mouth, sitting up straighter. He probably would do it, she thought, because he would do just about anything for his friends. The noble idiot. “Oh please, you think anyone would believe that this lovesick fool has moved on from Lily?” She retorted, making a vague gesture towards James, who just grinned ruefully and relaxed back into his seat, nodding his head in agreement.
“And you think anyone would believe we are a couple?” She paused for a second, unsure of how to answer. Although she and Sirius had always been… sort of… friends, it was largely only because of her friendship with the other Marauders - mainly studying with Remus and playing quidditch with James. While they inevitably spent a lot of time together due to their mutual friends, it was true that they were at each other’s throats more often than not, she supposed. Remus was complaining just last week about their constant bickering and their incessant need to outcompete each other in every little thing.
She was saved from answering by James. “Actually, a Ravenclaw in our charms class - you know, Macmillan? - asked me if you two were dating a couple of weeks ago.”
They both turned to look at him, shocked, and he just shrugged, “he said he wanted to ask you to Hogsmeade but wanted to make sure nothing was going on between you and Sirius”. Before she could unscramble her thoughts enough to answer, Remus piped up from his armchair. “A girl in the year below asked me something similar recently. Thought she might have a shot with Sirius, but wasn’t sure. She said something about you two having ‘chemistry’ at that party after the last quidditch match.” She fought the blush that spread across her cheeks at the memory. They’d thrashed Slytherin last month and she’d gotten pretty drunk at the party in Gryffindor tower afterwards. She always got a bit flirty when she drank, and Sirius was a shameless flirt even when he was stone cold sober. They’d traded a few harmless remarks early in the night, and later, though she couldn’t really remember how it happened, she ended up dancing to some ABBA songs with her back pressed against Sirius' chest, his arms around her waist and his hot breath on her neck. It hadn’t led anywhere - in fact she had been pretending it never happened - but she still felt a burning pit in her stomach whenever she thought about the way he had felt pressed against her, or the way he had grinned and licked his lips when she turned around and they danced chest to chest.
She shook herself slightly and forced herself to look at Sirius, who was frowning at Remus. “Plus,” she said bitingly, “you’ve established a pretty solid reputation for fucking anything that moves”. Sirius scowled at her before roughly shoving himself up from the couch and strolling past her to the record player that was now sitting idle, the last track having finished. She watched his tense shoulders as he carefully selected a new record and switched them over. She softened her tone, “I’m sure Davis will move on and start pestering some other poor girl before long. I just need you to play the overprotective boyfriend role until he backs off.” She shared a glance with Remus and James when he still didn’t respond. “Please,” she finally relented. When Black still didn’t answer, now decidedly fiddling with the tuning knobs on the record player, she sighed. She’d have to find another way to deter Davis and it’d have to be soon - she didn’t know how many more times she could hear his sleazy “hiya sweetheart”, before she’d resort to hexing him. And that would probably just make him re-double his efforts.
She barely noted the sound of the gryffindor portrait opening to let someone into the common room, but then- “There ya are sweetheart! Bin lookin’ all over for ya!” She gritted her teeth, turning around to see Lucas Davis stalking towards her, that stupid fucking smirk on his face. “Can’t think why, given that you saw me an hour ago and I told you to ‘leave me the fuck alone’”, she snapped. She could see both Remus and James tense in her peripherals, probably preparing to tell Davis to ‘fuck off’ themselves, but Sirius remained silent behind her. Davis either didn’t notice the two boys glaring at him, or didn’t care, and he only smiled wider, “aw come on princess, don’ be like that!” He whined, “I think you just need-”
But she never found out what he thought she needed, as Sirius suddenly stepped up to her side, casually slung an arm around her shoulder and drawled, “You heard my girl, fuck off and leave her alone.” Davis visibly recoiled, and she might have laughed at his shocked expression had she not been entirely preoccupied by Sirius' comforting warmth as he leant against her. “Your girl?” He sputtered.
“My girl.” Sirius repeated, and she could hear the mocking smile in his voice, “Girlfriend, paramour, lover, whatever. The point is: fuck. off.” Even Remus seemed to be hiding a grin as Davis stood there, dumbstruck, his eyes darting between her and Sirius as though stupefied. She relaxed into Sirius embrace and intertwined her fingers with his where they hung over her shoulder. “Bye Davis”, she crooned, with a smug smile. He seemed to struggle for another moment before turning on his heel and striding out the door without another word.

tease tidbit (turned tadton... lol) tuesday
thank you so so sooo much @theotherbuckley & @bangpop91 for the tag <3
take me back - Tommy amnesia fic (from ch 2)
Tommy nods, finally understanding what happened. Except–
Except… he doesn’t actually understand at all.
Tommy thinks about his gift to Buck– the Lakers tickets. Amazing tickets to an amazing game– a game that Tommy knows Buck doesn’t even care about. Tickets he hadn’t even bought. Tickets he had won and decided to use as a ploy for a deeper purpose.
Tommy thinks about Buck telling him that he had made the joke ‘he could even take Eddie instead… and die’. Such a silly, teetering into being a selfish request, in hindsight. But then he thinks about the reason he didn’t just want to be the one with Buck– with Evan… it was still Evan then– at the game, he had to be; and it actually had nothing to do with basketball at all.
After Billy Boils eulogy they went back to Tommy’s house to spend the rest of their day off tangled up in each other… in every way imaginable. At some point they migrated to the couch, Tommy fully prepared to watch hours of documentaries– paused periodically so Evan could load on even more information than was already being given. “No you pick,” Evan had said, then went on to insist Tommy pick out the cheesiest, sappiest, most rom-comiest (“That one hundred percent is a real word, Thomas… thank you very much.”) flicks for them to watch together as payment for Tommy not even thinking twice about going along to Billy’s makeshift funeral.
It was during one such movie that a couple were at a football game– it was on the tail end of a big fight, near break up, and she was only there because he said his friend couldn’t make it and he didn’t want the extra ticket to go to waste. The girl clearly only agreed to go because she seriously cares for the guy, but the “date” felt tone deaf… He was having the time of his life, and she was just there. Tommy spent the majority of the scene with his face scrunched up in disgust. It all came to a head when she got a drink and nachos spilled on her by some fans jumping up to cheer. She was humiliated and started to leave but the guy begged her to stay for half time. “You won’t regret it, I promise,” he said.
In true romcom fashion… he was not wrong. To the girl’s – and Tommy and Evan’s as well– surprise during the half-time game the guy had set it up to go out on the field and propose to her. By the end of the scene Tommy had teared up, which he had expected to do– it was Evan sniffling next to him that surprised him.
“I mean, come on, think about it Tommy…” he cried. “The whole movie the guy went above and beyond for her, but he was afraid of commitment so everything he did always seemed to fall short. But she loves him so she sticks around… and he finally realized she was it for him when he almost lost her… so he decides to step out of his comfort zone and tell her in what had to have been the most terrifying way because, he's in front of all theses people... what if she says no, you know?” he rambled on and on, wiping tears away as they steadily fell… and Tommy could hardly focus on what he was saying because all he could think about was how much it reminded him of them.
Tommy sits in the awkward silence across from Ev- Buck– it’s Buck now, he guesses… and thinks of what he was planning on doing at that Laker’s game. He had been falling in love for those past six months– reckless and impulsive as it may have been of him to do, he couldn’t help it. He had to tell him– he was going to tell him… He had called in and ordered a personalized spot on the Kiss Cam, he had a whole speech ready (written out and everything)… he was even planning on ditching the rest of the game after to take Evan home and show him just how in love he was.
Tommy wonders if that fire Evan– or Buck… no back to Evan– had ignited in him still burned a year later. Before his amnesia, did he still love Evan like his life depended on it? Was he still the person he thought about before he went to bed, and when he first woke up… Was he still very much the center of Tommy’s entire world?
He wonders if he ever tried to move on.
Mostly he wonders what could have changed his mind so drastically from their anniversary date to the day they broke up, because the Tommy that Tommy is in his mind at the moment… would not have ended things just because Evan— Buck— whatever he is to be called now— asked him to move in.
Tommy’s heart aches to say this out loud, instead of sitting quietly and letting it go unknown. A part of him wants to spill that whatever he was thinking back then he isn’t thinking now and if he could go back and do it all again they would be spending a different kind of anniversary— a year of living together (preferably in Tommy’s house and not squeezed into that tiny loft… but hell, just to be together… he might have made the sacrifice).
But a year has passed. Buck– His Evan has moved on. Tommy has no right to say anything now… so he doesn’t.
“I- I should go,” Buck says, more tears slipping down his cheeks. Tommy wants to stop him, to say he doesn’t want to part ways on painful terms… again. He doesn’t speak… he doesn’t move.
Evan stands up and sulks out of the kitchen, and Tommy’s skin is crawling with the want to chase after him. Get up, get up, get up!! His heart is starting to pound so loud he almost doesn’t hear when Evan opens the door. He’s almost out of time…

collecting tears - sunghoon
jar of tears that were shed for sunghoon
park sunghoon x reader "y/n"
genre: angst, right boy wrong time, failed relationship, rejection, ex-boyfriend
warning: profanity, depression, anxiety and insecurity, alcohol, overall 18+ - italics are flashback
summary: sunghoon loved you. he did, but the voices in your head kept telling you that you weren't good enough for him. after a public display of affection, the weight of the gaze of your loved ones, and the voices in your head, you're now forced to replay the moments of leaving sunghoon alone; on one knee and a velvet box in his hands.
I know I said I’d wish you well But I did not mean with someone else I don't wanna ask too much But don't fall in love without me Been through hell Waiting if the time could tell I don't wanna press my luck But don't fall in love without me pia mia - wish you well word count: 1843
“Y/N?” a voice calls out to you and you're pulled out of your thoughts. It was Yeji, Sunghoon’s little sister. She had grown so much since the last time you saw her and she was only getting more beautiful. You gave her a warm hug and asked her how she’s been. The two of you catching up in the ladies bathroom of the reception venue. You haven't seen Sunghoon’s sister in a long time and to be frank, you hadn’t seen Sunghoon for a while either.
You were in the bathroom trying to recollect yourself after seeing Sunghoon and his now wife take the stage for their first dance as a married couple. You thought that you had long gotten over Sunghoon and that you would be able to attend his wedding with only love and support for him but as soon as you stepped out of your car and onto the cobblestone pathway that led to the ceremony, you were only filled with regret.
Regretful that you weren’t the one walking down the aisle and staring lovingly into Sunghoon’s eyes. Regretful that you weren’t the one Sunghoon was slipping a beautioful diamond ring onto and softly reading his vows to. Regretful that you weren’t the one on the receiving end of his kiss as the officiant announces the marriage. Regretful that you weren’t the one dancing with him as loved ones admired. Regretful that you walked away from him.
Sunghoon had planned a whole day for the two of you. He had been planning for the last three months, consulting with your best friends and sisters to come up with the best plan to propose to you. He even got the blessing of your parents, taking the two of them to dinner with just him and although your dad was hesitant to let his little girl go, he willingly gave Sunghoon his blessing to wed you.
Everything was planned out and all Sunghoon had to do now was ask you the question. But not before the two of you finish all of his events planned for the day. Sunghoon watched as you put your earrings on and sprayed your perfume as your last step of getting ready. He admired your beauty and couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with you, as husband and wife.
He spins you around in a whim of the moment, landing on his chest as you look up at him with wide eyes, a toothy smile on Sunghoon’s face. “Yes?” you ask and Sunghoon just continues to smile at you, excitement boiling inside of him as he runs over the events for the day once more. “Nothing, just thinking about how lucky I am to have you.” Sunghoon says before placing a tender kiss onto your forehead. “Come on, our reservation is soon.” he says, grabbing your hand and gently walking outside to his car.
You mull over on his words. Luck. Was that all this was? Was he just lucky to have stumbled upon you and now he just happened to think he had to be with you? Lucky that he found you but… did he want to find you? Your doubts were now starting to seep into your mind and the insecurity you fought so hard against was starting to win. You didn’t realize you were dwelling on these negative thoughts for so long because you had arrived at the first spot Sunghoon had planned and hadn’t even noticed until he was opening your door for you. Trying your best to brush away your insecurities, you put on a smile and took Sunghoon’s hand in yours as you approached the beautiful restaurant.
A fancy steakhouse that prepared a variety of different meats and dishes prepared tableside. He spent all dinner making sure you were having fun and although you would say yes, your mind was starting to unravel. Like you were starting to fall apart the longer you were out with Sunghoon. You couldn’t get those thoughts out of your head no matter how many times Sunghoon would tell you that you were beautiful and that he loved you and that you were the one for him.
The next step on his plan after dinner was to go on a walk by the river. The river wasn’t too far from the restaurant and Sunghoon planned it that way, so you two could walk hand in hand to the next location on his plan.
He slightly swung your arms as your hand was in his, enjoying the cool breeze of Spring. There were groups of kids running around with kites, parents lounging on the grass as they watched their children, and several dogs running around. Sunghoon couldn’t wait for the day he could be one of those families, a family with you where he can admire the life he has because it was a life with you. The velvet box in his back pocket burning a hole into the fabric the longer the walk went on.
The walk was short and soon enough you’re approaching a clearing near the river, the sun was beginning to set and the flickering lights from candles were coming into your line of sight. Various candles, rose petals, and photos of you and Sunghoon adorned a small lookout that stood just above the river; giving whoever stood there the perfect view of the sunset and river altogether.
You were looking out into the view, wonderinf what all of this was for when suddenly, Sunghoon was on one knee and some of your loved ones had appeared behind him. All of them with smiles on their faces and phones pointed towards the both of you.
“Y/N. You’re the best thing to happen to me. There have been a lot of times where I questioned what I was doing with my life. Whether I should continue ice skating, whether I want to become an architect, what I should have for breakfast. But in every instance, you were there to reassure me that you would be there with me through everything. Never have I ever questioned my love for you and I hope you know that you were the reason I think love exists.
I’ve never felt this way for anyone before and I’m glad I learned to love through you because I don’t want to experience love with anyone else.
You’re the most beautiful girl I know and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you.
Y/N… will you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?” Sunghoon says, pulling out the velvet box and popping it open, a beautiful diamond ring glistens in the sunset and a smile on Sunghoon’s face paired with his glossy eyes make your chest rise and fall even faster.
You glance around to your loved ones, your dad smiling at you as he consoles your mom while she cries, your sisters crying and smiling as they record the loving moment, and your best friends trying their best to keep it together.
When you look back down at Sunghoon you soon realize that you hadn’t answered his question because the smile on his face has started falling into a confused frown. You blink a few times while looking into Sunghoon’s eyes and you don’t even realize you were crying until a tear falls down your cheek.
“I- I’m sorry, I can’t do this.” you say, shaking your head and running away from Sunghoon. Stunned and shocked as he blinks away the tears welling in his eyes, too embarrassed to even stand up and face your loved ones.
The silence in that moment was so loud and Sunghoon could’ve sworn that amidst the silence, he could hear his own heart shatter inside of him.
“Are you okay?” Yeji asks as she watches a tear slide down the side of your cheek. You quickly wipe it away having not realized you were crying as you recalled the traumatic events of Sunghoon’s failed proposal. You reassure Yeji that you’re fine and that you’ll see her outside. She soon leaves you alone, noticing that you probably needed some time alone.
After a few minutes of composing yourself, you touch up your makeup and head back outside to the venue. The reception was just as lively, if not more, than when you had excused yourself to the bathroom. You were scanning the dancefloor, trying to find your old friends to hang out with when a voice from behind you gets your attention.
“Having fun?” Sunghoon asks and you’re startled by his presnce. If you were being honest you had been ignoring him all night and would hope that you could go the whole night without having to interact with him.
“Y- yeah. Beautiful wedding, congratulations to the both of you!” you say, trying your best to sound genuine. Sunghoon smiles at you, a type of smile you hadn’t seen in a long time. You really wished that you were the one being celebrated alongside Sunghoon but your insecurities and anxiety prevented you from receiving all the love that Sunghoon was ready to give you.
“Sometimes I wish things were different…” Sunghoon says quietly and you have to close your eyes to prevent yourself from acting in a way that would only hurt the both of you, you especially.
“Sunghoon, don’t… We’re literally at your wedding.” you say, eyeing the room but due to the dark atmosphere from the lowlights and strobe party lights, no one could actually see the two of you right now. “Yeah but I wish it was-” Sunghoon begins to say but you cut him off by walking away but he grabs your hand in his. A small gesture but to the both of you it was more than that.
“You’re literally married, Hoon…” you say, the nickname mindlessly rolling off your tongue. “This isn’t right and you know that.” you say and Sunghoon sighs in defeat, staring down at his feet. Although he was now married and had a new woman in his life, you were the one who held his heart.
You walked away from Sunghoon that night just like you did the day he proposed to you. Wishing that although he was now married and how much you wanted to believe that you truly wished him well, you wished that he just wasn’t with someone else.
That he’d fall in love but secretly wishing he would fall in love with you once again and even though he tried to prove to you that he still does love you and that he was willing to drop everything at his own wedding reception to have you back, you chose to walk away once again.
Sunghoon watched you walk away a second time. “Take me back to the night we met…” he says, hoping that his empty words would somehow miraculously grant him his wish so that he could start all over and show you the love you deserve and reassure you so that you wouldn’t walk away from him.

november 19 vs lightning, 3-2 OT loss
sidney's milestone yips return 🙄
this series is now on ao3! i'll be adding games in chunks from now on :)
Sanja never believes Zhenya when Zhenya says he doesn’t really get angry with Sid.
Oh, they bicker, of course—you can’t spend practically 24 hours a day with someone for nine months out of the year without small irritations flaring up. One of them will be overtired and crabby, or they’ll disagree about where to go for dinner near the end of a long roadie…stuff like that.
But major arguments, flaring tempers and angry, icy silences? They don’t do that. It’s something Zhenya’s always been smug about.
There is, of course, an exception.
Having a front-row seat to Sid’s career has been a privilege and an honor. Zhenya doesn’t regret a single decision that’s kept him at Sid’s side since 2006; even taking their relationship out of it, because it’s not like they’d break up just because they temporarily lived apart, getting to watch someone live up to the type of potential Sid has and work his way into the record books is not something Zhenya would give up willingly.
The time those records take, though.
Sid overthinks every aspect of his play when he’s getting close to some sort of milestone. He handles the puck like he’s never seen one before, passing when he should shoot and hesitating when he should pass until the lane disappears. He retreats into his routine with a rigidity that he’s mostly shed as he’s gotten older, and he gets snappy with anyone who dares to so much as hint around the concept of a milestone.
It was funny at first. And then Sid entered top-ten categories, leapfrogging over the types of players that most guys won’t come near to matching ever, and the milestones started coming faster and faster, and Sid took longer and longer to actually achieve them.
The goalless drought before 500 had been comical, and ultimately happened in the type of storybook ‘how is this real’ fashion that only Sidney Crosby is capable of and made the wait worth it. Six hundred, though?
“Next time,” Zhenya fumes, slamming the pantry shut perhaps a bit harder than he means to, “you shoot on power play, like, not pass right back to me, I’m get yelled at during break!” He brandishes the bag of trail mix at Sid before ripping it open and cramming a handful into his mouth, chewing with his mouth open just because he knows it pisses Sid off.
“Oh, fuck you,” Sid scoffs, glaring at him so hard that if Zhenya were even slightly less ticked would have him cowering and apologizing. “You passed up plenty of your own fucking chances, eh, how about you get a goal one of these games!”
Zhenya throws his hands up, scattering trail mix across the kitchen island. “I’m not hold whole team up while I pick around on ice, forget how to play hockey, like, need extra-special time for score big goal!” he practically shouts. “Everyone tries to help, like, gets you puck, sets you up, and you’re not shoot. Have to score and move on so we’re play games for real, Sidney, not think about stupid records!”
“You think I want this?” Sid hisses, sweeping some of the spilled M&Ms into his hand and throwing them into the sink so hard a few of them bounce right back out. “All I want—all I’ve ever asked for, every single time this happens, is for people to play.like.normal! I can’t focus when everyone’s watching me, I can’t see the net, I can’t get my grip right…” He tugs at his hair, a nervous habit that Zhenya used to warn would make him go bald until Zhenya’s own hairline started to recede and Sid’s stayed stubbornly put.
Zhenya opens his mouth to snap back, but Sid’s face is twisted in genuine upset, so he takes a deep breath and forces himself to calm down.
Sid needs to get out of his head. Sid needs a distraction. Zhenya’s always been good at that.
“You’re think grip is bad?” he asks, smiling beatifically at Sid when Sid looks at him suspiciously at his abrupt change in tone. “Seems fine this morning, like, tight but not too tight, you know? You’re want to go upstairs and check, practice some more? I’m tell you if it’s good.”
Sid’s expression flickers from suspicion to confusion to disgust to…intrigued. Zhenya mentally high-fives himself. Time to seal the deal.
“And then maybe,” Zhenya purrs, circling the island and crowding close to Sid, “you’re help me get it in goal, like, I need practice too, you know?”
Sid smacks at his arm, but he’s laughing as he abandons his attempt to clean up and drags Zhenya upstairs.
They forget to set an alarm and get yelled at when they skid in late to video review the next morning. Sid’s smiling again, though, and Zhenya would bag-skate himself for a full 60 minutes to make that happen.

Relationship Snapshot: Miphlink
(I wanted to get into the characters and how their relationship would work, so that’s this lol)
Mipha
Dedicated, compassionate, kind, nurturing, gentle, graceful, an excellent fighter and healer - these are all ways people would describe the Princess of the Zora. Ever the perfect and noble young woman, Mipha is quiet and elegant. She puts on an excellent facade for the people, as their princess, and knows to do her duty. In reality, Mipha does truly love to help others and finds joy in it, but she also desperately suppresses her own wants and desires in the name of both duty and trying to satisfy that need to help others. As she is the golden child, she also rarely—if ever—gets criticism, and therefore is not used to taking any at all. She’ll overthink any critique, stressing and resenting it. She’ll push herself beyond her breaking point for others, defining herself and her worth in her ability to help. She doesn’t have as much confidence in her own abilities as others seem to, and she resigns herself to knowing that she’s the weakest link in the chain of warriors around her. While she’ll do everything in her power to improve herself so that she can better help others, Mipha is also pessimistic in her own outcomes in life. She doesn’t really expect to be happy, doesn’t expect to survive a fight with Ganon, doesn’t expect to live a life that feels truly her own. She’s a servant of her people and that honestly seems like enough for her. She’s very shy about expressing her own needs and desires, rarely talking about what she wants. She’s emotionally overwhelmed easily, and despite pushing for intimacy with others in order to help them, she’s hardly ever intimate about herself and her own needs. Mipha will be everyone’s best friend and know all their hurts and loves but hardly anyone will know anything about her. She was far more adventurous as a child, though a worrier for others and much preferred tending to friends than seeking excitement. Still has a small spark of adventure in her, loves to explore and see new things, but spends most of her time attending to others so she just represses any desire for it. When she does finally get to be in an intimate relationship, she goes above and beyond in trying to show her love and feel loved in return initially, insecure on the matter. This can make her burn herself out or annoy whoever the other party is by overstepping. Overall, Mipha is very kindhearted and gentle, pushes herself to be the best she can be in her gifts and abilities, constantly involved in the lives of her subjects and tries to be a role model for those around her, and she wants to help everyone to the point of completely disregarding herself.
Link
As a child prodigy, Link is used to having a lot of expectations on his shoulders. He was raised to put duty first, and he takes his duty very seriously as a result, constantly pushing himself to improve and be the best knight he can be. Link has confidence in his abilities and plenty of courage, but reckless abandon are also often reasons he simply throws himself into battle with little strategy involved. He has a lot of anxiety about the pressure he’s under and desperately seeks security, even if it’s just form himself, or from praying to Hylia as often as possible. Got pushed out of the nest a little too soon due to his abilities, and tends to feel very alone and scared as a result, trying to steady himself in a chaotic world that keeps pushing him around. Very aware of how perceived he is and not sure how to handle it, but doesn’t want to mess it up. Adventurous and curious, Link will explore everything and break every bone in his body doing it and not regret it one bit. And he’ll do it without a single plan in his head. He’s not incapable of strategy, of course, but he hardly uses it. However, his strong sense of duty and recognition that the world is watching him and has expectations often keeps this wilder side of him in line. He has a kind heart under the stoic exterior, which can be confusing to those around him as he comes across as ambivalent but actually cares very deeply. Loves being around children as there is little pressure, they’re brutally honest about their opinions, and their innocence is endearing, and he loves to protect them. Finds peace in nature, and may go out to be alone to center himself, but honestly prefers the company of a few close friends/family over being alone in the wilds all the time. Quite independent, almost fiercely so - he follows orders and all that, but left to his own devices he would rather just do what he wants. He’s used to taking care of himself from a fairly young age, and while sometimes guidance in how to do things is greatly appreciated and gives him a break, sometimes he’ll balk at it and want to go his own way. With all the pressure he’s gotten throughout his life, Link places even more pressure on himself. He has to get it right every time. He has to win every time. If anything goes wrong it’s his fault, no matter what. He has to protect everyone. Between this internalized stress and his silence, Link hardly knows how to connect with others and rarely, if ever, is the first to reach out. This can definitely make him seem aloof when he truly does care, he just doesn’t know how to show it. Link is a doer far more than a talker, and will show he cares through actions, especially through cooking.
Miphlink
Mipha and Link complement each other well. Mipha’s kindness, gentleness, and nurturing nature soothe Link’s anxieties. Link’s confidence and strength and steadfastness give Mipha stability in a world where everyone else relies on her. Both love each other quietly - Mipha’s shyness is a hurdle she works to get over as their relationship develops into something romantic, and Link of course has no idea how to communicate his feelings. When they were children they were good friends, exploring together and teaching each other, whether it was Link showing Mipha how to fight or Mipha showing Link how to fish and swim. As young aduts, as they grow comfortable with each other once more after years apart and baggage and worries have piled up, they regain some of that spark for adventure, especially Link, who feels safe around Mipha, and he pushes her to be open about what she wants and needs and enjoys, forcing her out of her perfect facade and making her have fun with him.

idk kinda need to see rafe jealous of sofia with another guy before this show ends, it'll be so satisfying to see especially with the current circumstances, like rafe one of the first times comes back to kildare and sees sofia he sees another guy flirting with sofia and rafe is seething about it maybe even causes a scene then queue an angsty scene with sofia getting mad at him because he broke up with her via a phone call and did not let her explain, but i know it'll never happen😭
knowing the pates they'll make rafe spend most of his time in lisbon and then like an episode back in kildare and then suddenly rofia get together after rafe realises he made a mistake bc their ass at writing😒
like i know they said their story will continue and i believe they will too but i want there to be good writing this time around, a rofia and sofia backstory!!!! they could insert them both so easily, like moments in s5 where any of these where she's thinking of rafe, something reminds her of him or doing the typical scrolling through picture scenes that elite tv ships do when the other misses the other and after any of these there's a slow fade to a flashback of their first meeting, it also makes no sense for them to put these lines here and there plus the showing sofia's family and then proceed to not explain them further or have an episode dedicated to her, they can easily do either but they aren't bc of time constraints and they deem the pogues storyline more favourable, idk maybe cut out those useless topper scenes for sofia the character people actually care about!!!!
I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH!! THANK YOUUU!!
Like yes, Sofia trying to move on and forget about him and Rafe seeing this and getting super jealous and mad, which only makes her angrier, because how dare he get mad when he was the one who ended their engagement so quickly? No because I need this scene for my sanity. Cue angsty argument which ends with Sofia being like
“Why do you care huh? You broke up with me and kicked me out of your house?”
“Because I love you!” (*impassioned declaration of love from rafe!*)
“Then why did you throw it all away?” (*her veneer of anger breaks and she shows him how much he really hurt herrrr!!*)
Someone write this or I will (after I get through my requests🙏😞bear with me)
Yessss totally!! I need to see how she reacted to his cruel break up and how she moved on/dealt with it. I neeeeed Sofia scenes outside of rafe, and I also need rafe to yearn for her in Lisbon!! Like yes, the elite looking through the camera roll and reminiscing!! Like Rafe wistfully looking at Sofia’s picture whilst he’s away from her and he suddenly regrets everythinggg!!!
No literally, why dedicate an episode to her family life and situation– they need to bank on it and show her family again, make them important to Rafe’s story in some way!!
Hahahaha the topper hate is so funny😭I love Austin thoooo, but I agree, replace his character’s screentime with someone else I BEGGG

Jegulus date - word count: 4k
Why did I agree to this again? Regulus questions himself as he follows James down the stairs leading from his apartment.
He’s spending the day with James Potter. The man he’s hated since for as long as he can remember.
After they make it downstairs, they wait while James calls them a ride. Regulus is tempted to ask where they’re going, but he sort of likes the idea of it being a surprise. Normally he hates surprises, but today is not a normal day. Regulus isn’t sure if he likes that or not.
The silence while they wait isn’t as unpleasant as Regulus expects it to be. He’s never been one to try and fill the silence, but he thought James would at least try to make small talk. The man normally never shuts up. However, he seems to be lost in thought at the moment. He’s staring into the distance with a faraway look. Regulus continues to stare at James, taking him in fully without the stress of having him look back. There are no words that need to be said at the moment.
Instead, a comfortable quiet fills the space between them. Regulus likes that he now knows that James has the ability to shut up on occasion. It’s easier to not be annoyed by him that way.
Their taxi arrives a little later, and it seems to snap James out of his thoughts. He turns to Regulus.
“Ready?” He asks, a gleeful look on his face.
Regulus gives a nod and starts forward. They take a taxi because he isn’t a fan of subways. They’re way too crowded, and if there’s ever an available seat, it’s covered in too many unidentifiable liquids.
Trying not to think about what sort of liquids the taxi seats have seen, he gets in and scoots over to leave some space. James sits a respectful distance away, which slightly offends Regulus. What’s so wrong with him that James wants to sit so far away? Not that Regulus wants him any closer. It’s just the semantics that upset him.
The car ride is silent on Regulus’ part. He looks out the window and certainly does not pout while James strikes up a conversation with the driver. Because of course he does. It turns out that they have quite a lot in common. They go to the same gym, enjoy the same movies, and like the same music. Regulus is then stuck listening to Kendrick Lamar's new album for the rest of the short ride. He debates opening the car door and jumping out onto the bustling street.
When they arrive at their destination, Regulus is actually a little impressed. They’re at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Regulus has never been despite living in the city for a while now. He loves museums and art, but he usually tells himself he’s too busy to indulge himself like that.
He regrets not spending more time doing the things he loves. There are so many opportunities he’s missed that if he tried to count them, the day would be long over.
They both exit the taxi, and James refuses to let Regulus pay. James thanks the driver, who is now a new friend of his apparently, and then holds out his arms as if presenting a prize to Regulus on a game show.
“Ta-da!”
“It’s a museum,” Regulus states. He tries his best to sound unimpressed despite the excitement coursing through him.
“Yes, the best one in Boston! C’mon, it’s gonna be fun.” James skips ahead, genuinely skips, and Regulus wonders if he'll get arrested for assault if he hits James.
James comes back over and sees the unamused look on Regulus’ face. He smiles and ushers to the entrance. Regulus shakes his head but begins walking. James slows to match his pace, and Regulus purposefully ignores the fluttering feeling he gets.
They pay and enter the museum, going first to the large garden called the Courtyard. Regulus lets out a gasp when he sees it.
It’s one of the most beautiful gardens Regulus has ever seen. It’s overflowing with flowers and beautiful architecture. This is the kind of place he could sit for hours and forget the world.
“I love it,” he says aloud. He hadn’t meant to, but when James turns to him he keeps speaking despite himself. “I could stay forever and not worry about a thing.”
James nods along, looking out at the beautiful scenery. “I’d stay here forever with you if you’d let me,” he says, and surely Regulus misheard him. A moment later, James laughs awkwardly, and Regulus supposes he must have been making a joke.
James and his stupid jokes.
Regulus huffs before making his way to the closest room in the museum. It’s called the Macknight Room, and it’s full of wonderful artwork for Regulus to gawk at. He notices James enter behind him, but pays him no mind.
He looks at a lovely watercolor painting of the Grand Canyon. It astonishes him that there are such beautiful places in the world. It saddens him to think that he may never get to see them. Maybe he should be more like James and take time to enjoy things. However, the thought of being anything like James makes him feel a bit sick, so he decides to put a pin in the idea.
Eventually, he and James end up side by side again. James asks him a question about an object on the table in front of them, and Regulus decides to forgive him for his joke. He’s not got much time for grudge-holding today. He answers James’ question, then another, and another, not getting annoyed in the slightest. They begin to make their way through the museum, and it’s surprisingly Regulus who does most of the talking.
They see works by Rembrandt, Degas, and even Michaelangelo. Regulus finds himself enjoying the experience way too much. He keeps telling himself to calm down, it’s just a painting, or a sculpture, or a vase. He starts going on tangents to James about the artwork, and James seems content just to listen to him. Regulus is surprised he hasn’t asked him to shut up yet. He can get kind of annoying about art, as his friends have told him many times.
He interrupts himself in the middle of telling James about a painting by Rubens. “Sorry, I’m ranting again. You can tell me to stop talking, I know it’s probably annoying.”
James firmly shakes his head, surprising Regulus again. “You’re not annoying, Regulus. You’re just passionate. I like hearing you talk about art. Your face lights up when you do.”
Regulus can’t do anything about the blush that appears at that. He turns away quickly and avoids James for a little while.
They eventually make their way through almost the entire museum. The last room they visit is the Spanish Cloister. Regulus thinks this is one of his favorites. It has beautiful works by Sargent, Seville, and many talented others.
Regulus' favorite is one by John S. Sargent called El Jaleo. It depicts a performer dancing in a tavern with musicians playing for her in the background. Regulus likes it because he feels like he can relate to the woman dancing. She’s trapped in the painting, putting on a show for everyone for eternity. Regulus feels like his whole life has been one big performance. Performing for his parents, for strangers, for himself.
The painting is a myriad of colors and objects. There’s so much going on that it’s hard to figure out where to look. Regulus is drawn to the woman, however, and he wishes that she could curtsy so the show can be over.
James comes to stand next to him. “Do you like this one?”
It’s hard to find the words to describe how the painting makes him feel. He can only think of two words to say, but he knows they’re not enough.
“It’s beautiful,” Regulus whispers.
“Yes, it is,” James says back.
Regulus turns and is surprised to find James looking at him instead of the painting, another stupid smile on his face. He must have turned his head a split second before Regulus did. That’s the only explanation.
James is opening his mouth to speak, and Regulus waits with bated breath. He doesn’t know what he wants James to say, but he knows that he wants it to be something monumental.
“I’m glad you asked me to spend the day with you,” James says, and Regulus wants to take back his wish. James is so earnest too; Regulus knows he means what he says. He wants to tell James what he’s thinking, but that would involve being open with his feelings.
Regulus is a coward. He doesn’t respond. He turns away.
It’s silent, and then:
“Are you hungry?” James asks him for the second time that day. Before Regulus can answer, his stomach betrays him by growling. They both laugh. Regulus is learning that laughter can be nice sometimes.
“C’mon, I know a great place not too far from here.” He follows James out of the room, pausing to look at El Jaleo one last time.
The performer, stuck forever in a dance. He’s worried he can understand her a little too well.
He blinks away tears he didn’t realize had formed in his eyes and catches up to James. Look at him, getting emotional over a painting. It would make Sirius laugh.
Regulus hates to admit that he misses that laugh.
Once they’ve left the museum, they grab another taxi. This time, the ride isn’t silent and they keep a nice conversation going. They talk about their favorite things from the museum, and Regulus corrects James when he gets things wrong and laughs at James’ funny descriptions of the art. The ride seems to be over too quickly.
They both exit the taxi, James once again paying despite Regulus’ protests. He wants to tell James that he has the entire Black family inheritance burning a hole in his pocket, but he would probably just be laughed at.
They’ve been dropped off in front of a row of shops. James steps toward the one closest to them. Regulus pauses to take a look at it. The sign above the entrance reads Punjab Palace in bright red letters. James has brought him to an Indian food place. Regulus likes Indian food well enough; some of the dishes are too spicy for him as he grew up in a household where salt and pepper were oftentimes the only seasonings used. His spice tolerance is terrible, to say the least.
James turns to him, an anxious look on his face. “Are you okay with Indian food? If not, we can go somewhere else-”
“James, I’m good,” Regulus interrupts. He’s learning that James cares what people think entirely too much. “I’ve had it before, I like it. Calm down.” His words genuinely seem to calm James, and he smiles before walking to the entrance. Regulus follows him inside.
Once they're seated, he anxiously takes out his phone but doesn’t do anything more besides go to his home screen. He doesn’t know what to do with himself. He hates small talk but feels it’s what is expected when two people eat together. He waits for James to initiate the conversation.
“My parents used to bring me here when I was younger,” James says in a fond voice. Regulus is glad he’s with someone unafraid to speak. Regulus often feels like he’d rather die than say anything.
He nods along instead of speaking. He’s of the opinion that sometimes things people say don’t require a response from the listener, especially if there are no words that are meaningful enough. He supposes he could say “Oh, that’s cool” or “Nice”, but those aren’t big enough to say how he really feels. He wishes he had the words to say that he thinks that it’s amazing that James’ parents took him to such a cool place growing up, and it’s great that his parents are so nice and loving, and that he’s sad that he didn’t have any of that growing up but he’s happy for James at the same time. But he doesn't know how to say any of that. So he just nods instead.
James doesn’t seem to mind his nonverbal responses and continues to talk. “My mom likes things that remind her of home. Food, music, dancing. I used to love dancing with her when I was a kid.” Hearing James talk so fondly of his mother makes Regulus think of his own. She never danced with him or Sirius and was never kind. Regulus knows that she’s the main reason his brother ran away from home. He’s glad that Sirius was able to find a mother who is nice, even if it meant he was left alone with one who wasn’t.
“She sounds lovely,” Regulus says. She sounds like everything a mother should be. Everything Regulus isn’t.
“She is. She’s the best.” He then says something Regulus isn’t expecting. “You should meet her someday. I think you guys would get along.”
Regulus is surprised that James thinks he should meet his mother. He doesn’t think James likes him all that much. So to suggest that he meet Euphemia Potter is a little strange. And how does James know they’d get along anyway? He barely knows anything about Regulus.
Before Regulus can respond, a waiter arrives to greet them. When the waiter asks what they’d like to drink, James orders something called a mango lassi while Regulus plays it safe and gets a Diet Coke. James also asks for some saag tikki and garlic naan, and the waiter hurries off to put in their order.
“I’m excited for you to try some of this food. Growing up, this was my equivalent to McDonald’s.” Regulus sort of understands the reference; he was never allowed fast food growing up. He supposes his version of McDonald’s would be when he and Sirius would stay with their Uncle Alphard when they were young. He would make them delicious foods their parents wouldn’t let them have otherwise.
It’s then that the waiter comes back with their drinks and appetizers. Regulus mentally applauds the fast service. The waiter asks if they're ready to order, and Regulus panics and picks his menu up. James thankfully orders first, giving Regulus time to scan. When the waiter turns to him, he orders chicken tikka masala because it’s the only dish he recognizes. He’s had it before and liked it, so it’s the safest option.
The waiter leaves again, and a silence ensues. Regulus sips his coke while James has some of his mango drink. James lets out a sound that’s entirely too close to a moan for Regulus’ liking. He shoots James an offended look.
“Sorry,” James says, not looking sorry at all. Honestly, doesn’t he know better than to make noises like that? Someone could get the wrong idea. “I just haven’t had one of these in forever and I forgot how good it is.”
Regulus rolls his eyes. “That doesn’t give you an excuse to moan like you’re in a cheap porno,” he says, then immediately regrets it when he sees a glint in James’ eye.
“I bet you’d love-” James is interrupted by Regulus throwing a piece of naan at his face. This effectively shuts him up.
“Do not finish that sentence.” James looks at Regulus with a shocked expression. He clearly didn’t expect to have a piece of bread thrown at him.
“I can’t believe you just threw naan at me.” James sounds offended, but Regulus can tell he’s only joking from the look on his face. He proceeds to pick up the naan that had fallen onto the table after it smacked his forehead and eat it.
“I would have thrown my knife at you, but I’m a gentleman.” James lets out a loud laugh at that.
“Regulus Black, you are full of surprises.” Regulus doesn’t believe that. He’s very predictable. He always has a snide comment or sarcastic remark, and his smiles are almost never present. He can always be counted on to bring reality to someone’s wild dreams and keep them from making rash decisions. So yes, he’s predictable, but he likes that James doesn’t see him that way. He likes that he sees him as a mystery to solve, something that has hidden answers. He then wonders why he likes that it’s James who sees him that way before clearing that thought away. That was dangerous territory.
James takes another sip of his drink, this time behaving himself for Regulus’ benefit. “This was my favorite drink as a kid.” He pushes the glass toward Regulus. “Here, try it.” He takes a cautious sip and is surprised to find that it tastes good. It’s not like anything he’s had before, but he likes it nonetheless.
“I like it,” Regulus tells James as he slides the drink back. This makes James happy. He’s too easy to please.
They make small talk while they wait, but it’s not as painful as Regulus expects it to be. James is a pro at keeping the conversation flowing, and Regulus realizes that he’s actually enjoying himself. He never expected that to happen with James in close vicinity, let alone him being the one to make Regulus happy. Today has to be the strangest day ever.
The waiter brings out their food while they’re in the middle of a debate over whether cereal is a soup. It was starting to get a little heated, so the food came out at a great time.
James starts in on his chicken curry and Regulus can smell the spices from it across the table. He takes a small bite of his own food, and his eyes widen. It’s amazing. He starts eating and doesn’t stop until the whole plate is empty.
He looks up to see that James devoured his food as well. They both seem to be amused at their eagerness. The food was just too delicious to do anything other than savor it.
The waiter comes to clear the empty plates, taking the credit card James hands over.
“I could have paid,” Regulus says, but James waves him off.
“I suggested we come here and you trusted me. It’s on me today.” Regulus nods in thanks. The waiter comes back with their receipt, but neither one stands to go.
“Do you-”
“Are we-”
They both pause when they begin speaking at the same time.
“You first,” James laughs.
“I was just going to ask if you still wanted to spend the day together. Don’t feel obligated to say yes.”
“I was just about to ask the same thing,” James says with a grin. “I’m having fun, so why stop here?” Regulus' stomach does something funny that he ignores.
“Yeah. Why stop here?” Regulus repeats. They stare at each other then. It feels important, and monumental. Then James looks away, and the moment ends.
“Time for dessert,” He announces.
“James, I’m so full. I don’t think I can manage dessert.” Regulus feels ready to burst. He hasn’t had a good meal in forever.
James stands from his chair. “The place I have in mind is about thirty minutes away, so I’m sure you’ll be fine.”
“Thirty minutes?” Regulus says as he stands. He embarrassingly stumbles a bit. James reaches out a hand to help, but Regulus just glares at it until he retracts it. “Where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise.” Hasn't this whole day been one big surprise?
Another taxi. Another drive. Regulus is noticing a pattern to the day. James leads and he follows. He just hopes he’s not led in the wrong direction.
They pass a sign on the way that states they’ve left the city. Regulus looks at their surroundings and realizes where they’re going.
“Why are we going to Cambridge?” He questions James.
James only shrugs nonchalantly. “You asked me to show you my favorite places.”
“Yeah, in Boston,” Regulus deadpans. He’s not sure he wants to go cross-country with James. They’d argue over the music playing in the car and inevitable crash or something.
James refuses to give him any more answers. Regulus is stubborn and tries his best though. He’s realizing James may be almost as stubborn as he is, which is going to be a problem if they continue arguing.
Regulus amuses himself by looking out the window. He’s always loved car rides. It’s nice to look at the scenery as they pass by. It makes him think about how big the world is and how small he is in comparison. Most would find that thought scary, but Regulus finds comfort in it. It reminds him that everything he does is insignificant and won’t matter one day, so he has all the freedom in the world.
They eventually make it further into Cambridge, and the taxi stops. They have arrived outside of an ice cream shop. Regulus loves ice cream, but there’s no way James knew that. It’s just a happy coincidence.
“Ice cream is my favorite,” Regulus admits to James as they hop in line to wait.
“Yeah, you mentioned it before, so I thought I’d show you my favorite ice cream shop.”
Regulus is confused. “When did I tell you I like ice cream?”
James laughs. “You didn’t tell me. I overheard you say it to Remus a few months back.” With that, he turns to look at the flavors on display.
Regulus doesn’t know what to think. It’s thoughtful that James remembered something he said from months ago. Too thoughtful for two people who are supposed to hate each other. Regulus wants to know what else James knows about him. He also wants to learn more about James.
He’s terrible at this whole hatred thing.
When it’s their turn, James orders a double dip of a strange flavor called Passion Fruit Caramel. When Regulus makes a face, James laughs and explains that he’s on a mission to try all the different flavors the shop offers, and that this is the only one they’re offering today that he’s yet to try.
He thinks that it’s a very James thing to do.
Regulus once again plays it safe and orders a single dip of Burnt Caramel. He wasn’t allowed to have very many sweets when growing up, so now as an adult, he attempts to make up for his loss by eating sweet things whenever he can.
Regulus manages to pay for his ice cream even though James insists, and they take their cups outside. There are benches lined along the sidewalk and they have a seat. Regulus notices that James sits a little closer than he did in the taxi from earlier.
James has some of his, making sure to let Regulus and all the passerby know how good it is by the sounds he makes. They are thankfully more PG this time.
Regulus excitedly takes a bite of his and has to force himself not to spit it back out. It’s bitter and not at all how he expects it to taste. He swallows quickly and wishes he had something to get the taste out of his mouth. He sticks his tongue out like a toddler without thinking about it, wanting anything to make the flavor go away.
“Everything okay?” It seems James has noticed his distress. Great.
“No,” Regulus answers petulantly. “It’s bitter and doesn’t taste good.” He gets up to throw the ice cream away in the nearest trash can. He comes back to where James is sitting, mood effectively ruined because of some stupid dessert.
James looks sympathetic. “Have some of mine.” He holds his cup out but Regulus hesitates. “Tastes good, promise.” James sounds so genuine that Regulus really has no choice. He once again attempts to be brave and tries a small bite. James isn’t lying; it tastes delicious. It’s slightly tart from the passion fruit but the sweet caramel balances it well. It’s also super creamy and one of the best things Regulus has ever tasted. He takes another, bigger bite and has to hold back a delighted groan.
The small kindness goes a long way. Regulus is still trying to decipher the mystery that is James Potter. The man is choosing to spend time with him even though he’s been cruel to him, and now he’s sharing his very tasty ice cream when he’s not obligated to. Regulus tries to think of words big enough to encompass his gratitude but falls short. He can really only think of two words to say, and he hopes they’re enough.
“Thank you,” Regulus whispers. It’s probably the nicest thing he’s ever said to James. It makes the man smile, and Regulus decides he may have to make a habit of being nicer to James. Where before he found the smiles quite annoying, looking at it now, it was actually really pleasant to look at. James' smile lights up his whole face. It’s as if there’s this constant joy inside him that’s ready to burst at any moment. Now that joy is directed at Regulus, just because of two small words he said.
And then Regulus does something very unexpected.

Hiii!! Can you do a riki fic where the members give him and reader the “talk”, bc they are both young. But they never did anything so they are very embarrassed. And after a few days they do it?
tysmm
Spoiler: you WILL shed a tear in the end
The talk
Requested?: yes
Warnings: a bit suggestive I think? And fluff at the end, if I missed smth tell meeee
You were sitting on the couch with Riki, already regretting whatever stupid decision led to this. Your knees kept brushing, and you swore your face was on fire. Across from you stood all the Enhypen members, looking way too serious for comfort
“You two are spending a lot of time together lately,” Sunghoon started, sounding like some overprotective dad
“And that’s great,” Heeseung added, his fake serious face making it worse, “but we think it’s time for...a conversation..”
You blinked “What conversation?”
“About sex,” Jay said, straight to the point like he was ripping off a Band-Aid
Riki groaned, slouching deeper into the couch, wishing it could swalow him whole, you could feel you whole body stiffen “Guys, seriously?!” you managed to say, your voice almost cracking
“Oh, seriously,” Sunoo said with that smug smile of his “You two need to know the basics. It’s for your own good.”
“Basics?” Riki repeated, sitting up a little “We’re not even—”
Jake cut him off, walking in with a banana and a box of condoms like he was about to teach health class “Okay, so here’s how you—”
“Nononono.. NUH UH” Riki bolted upright, waving his hands “We’re not doing this!”
“Sit down, Nishimura.. or I'll call your mom.” Jungwon said, trying to stay composed but clearly fighting back a laugh
The next half hour felt like the longest of your life. The boys went all out, explaining way too much, asking questions you refused to answer, and somehow turning the whole thing into the most embarrassing lecture ever. At one point, Jake broke the banana, and Sunghoon almost choked trying not to laugh
By the time it was over, you and Riki were sitting in stunned silence, your faces so red you thought they’d stay that way forever. As everyone got up to leave, Sunoo leaned down, whispered, “Be safe, kids,” and gave you the cheekiest fucking wink before skipping off
★–——★———A Few Days Later———★——–★
The awkwardness didn’t go away for days. Anytime you and Riki were alone, you'd avoid eye contact like you were in middle school or something. But then one night, you were hanging out in his room, lying on the floor while he sat on the bed. The silence felt heavy, and you couldn’t stop thinking about The Talk
“You good?” Riki asked, glancing down at you
“Yeah,” you mumbled, fiddling with your phone “Just...ugh. You know..”
“The thing?” he said, making a face “It’s hard not to..”
You looked up at him, rolling onto your side “Do you think they really think we’d...I don’t know...”
He shrugged, scratching the back of his neck “They’re just dramatic. Honestly, though, we don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to. Like, I don’t care about that stuff right now. I just...like being with you.”
That made your heart flutter. You sat up, leaning against the bed “What if... I want more?”
He froze for a second, his eyes locking with yours “More?”
You nodded, feeling bold even though your heart was racing “Yeah...like, us.”
Riki leaned down, his lips brushing yours softly at first, and then—well, things just happened. It wasn’t like some perfect movie scene or anything, but it was you, and it felt right. You figured it out together, laughing through the awkward parts and holding onto each other through the rest.
And honestly? You wouldn’t have it any other way..

You and she and several others are correct. Everyone needs to take a breath and relax.
Q. So you just have zero expectations for the mid season finale?
A. No, I have what I would call realistic expectations for the mid season finale given where we are storyline wise. And where we are is at the very beginning of storylines. Especially for Eddie. The reality is we are only 8 episodes in, and 3 of those episodes were used for the opening disaster which means no real storyline movement. The storyline episodes we did receive were basically used to clean up either what Tim meant to do or regretted doing last season. Getting Bobby back as captain. Breaking up Buck and Tommy and getting Maya back to Hen and Karen. I also think episode 9 was clearly supposed to be the original mid season finale episode, which is why they filmed it before wrapping for the year. So episode 8 was supposed to be a kind of penultimate episode, meaning basically a set up episode. So it's probably not going to feel like a traditional finale episode. But lots of shows on ABC will now have that problem because ABC decided to wrap up for the year 2 weeks earlier than people were expecting. Most shows expected the Thanksgiving break and then to have one more episode before wrapping for the year so lots of their shows will likely have disjointed mid season finales. This is not going to be a strictly 911 problem. Another issue, which I completely understand and agree with, is there has been entirely too much Athena focus. She was basically 85 percent of the first 3 episodes and was more than half of last week's episode and that theme sounds like it's continuing with the mid season finale. So 5 out of 8 episodes have basically been Athena centric and that is too much too close together. Especially considering how much screentime she ate up at the end of last season as well. People are Athena'd out. Angela Bassett is a total badass so I understand them wanting to utilize her but it's too much and at this point it's irritating most people because it's coming at the expense of the entire fire fam and no one wants to sacrifice their screentime for cop Athena screentime. I do think people would be slightly less annoyed if we had a bit more focus on the 118 characters as opposed to so much Athena.
The other big problem is Brad. I genuinely don't want to see him again after this coming episode. Callum seems absolutely lovely and the initial use of him prior to Bobby returning to the 118 was fun to watch, but in typical Tim fashion, it's been dragged out too long and now it's just in the way. So that's even more screentime being used on someone the audience genuinely doesn't care about. But the moment people started loving and interacting with Callum it was inevitable that Tim would change course and drag his arc out longer. Between Athena and Brad there just hasn't been enough time to give to Eddie, Hen and Chimney. Buck has had decent focus, but again that's because they initially intended to break him and Tommy up last season so they had to spend time fixing that at the beginning of this season. This is where we are storyline wise. So people going into this episode pissed off that Eddie isn't going to say he's gay, which I don't think he'll say even when they get to the sexuality arc, makes no sense to me. We are at the very beginning of Eddie's storyline. A realistic expectation for his character in the mid season finale is deciding to go get Christopher or having a nice video chat with Christopher that indicates positive movement on that part of the story. That's it. That's where we are for Eddie right now. A realistic expectation for Buck is him deciding to go out and enjoy his new found freedom in his newly expanded pond. That's it. Anything else we might get from them in the mid season finale would just be a nice surprise. And we might get something but I'm not expecting anything from a Buddie standpoint. Their storyline is going to be in 8b and I think it will be early. And once it starts I expect it to move fairly consistently because I do still think episode 12, the 118th overall, is still the plan for their first kiss. The first part of this season did not go how anyone predicted so I understand the frustration but everything indicates Buddie is a when at this point not an if. They're going to tell the story on their timeline not ours.
Thank you Nonny. 😋
Yeah, I'm just going into this one not expecting anything big for episode 8. The only thing I'm desperately hoping for is some Eddie and Chris interaction. I really think that the Brad & Eddie conversation Callum talked about will be about Chris. Nothing else would make sense at this point in Eddie's story. I'm also still hoping that we'll see Eddie leave to Texas at the end of the episode to go get Chris.🤞
After 8x06 I am now completely sure that Buddie is coming. I said that before. For me that episode showed me all I needed to see in order to fully believe. But I admit that we all miscalculated the timeline Tim would go for. He is obviously using 8a to close all the storylines he began in season 7. 8b will be treated as its own mini-season.
The only storyline that will still be unsolved will be Eddie's and I think Ali is right to think that his story (and the eventual Buddie story) will come to the forefront in 8b.
That's about all I wanted to add here. 😋

how I would fix veilguard
general note: I enjoyed Dragon Age: The Veilguard and it is very easy, post game release, for me (a person who doesn't work for Bioware and isn't the game's developers) to sit back in my armchair and go "This is what they should have done instead." That said, this is the internet, and I have opinions, so let's roll.
also, spoilers, obviously.
First, I would have made two games out of the material in Veilguard, not one.
Game one (which we will still call The Veilguard) takes place in Northern Thedas. The beginning of the game is the same: you interrupt Solas's ritual, and Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain escape. However, rather than taking over Thedas together, the two decide to divide and conquer: Ghilan'nain takes over the North, and Elgar'nan takes over the South.
Most of the game stays the same. You still play as Rook; however, the game starts with Varric recruiting you, so you get a chance to spend time with Varric before, you know, Solas. You still recruit your seven friends. For pacing purposes, romance and friendship scenes occur faster. This is because we're going to end the game sooner.
We're going to shave off all of Act 3.
Why would we do this? Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan are both stand-out villains who deserve their own time in the spotlight. As it is now, we hardly spend any time with Elgar'nan other than the constant looming threat of him, and Ghilan'nain mostly comes off as his lackey as opposed to a full-fledged "mother of monsters" she deserves to be. By splitting them into two games, each gets to shine as a villain, and Rook doesn't seem like such a overpowered protagonist who is able to kill (potentially) three elven gods.
So, where does Veilguard end? Last mission of The Veilguard should be "Isle of the Gods" and it should end exactly as that mission ends: Ghilan'nain's death, the realization of where Varric has been all along, and Solas trapping Rook in the Fade. Rook is trapped in the prison of regrets, realizes they are trapped, and then bam, end credits.
but wait, doesn't Veilguard suck now then? Most people agree acts 2 and 3 are the best part! And they are! But I think with tighter pacing, the whole game is improved. Remember, we are moving companion's Act 3 moments up to the end of Act 2 as well. We won't spend quite as long wondering when Lucanis will ever talk to us if we have his romance happen sooner, and that becomes true of all the companions.
So does the "Hero of the Veilguard" thing matter? It does, but not until the next game! Hold your horses!
--
So, now we make Game 5: Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. At the end of the last game, Solas established himself as a villain (by putting Rook in prison) so now it's time to really mess with that.
For starters: Game 5 cannot happen unless world state is included, and I'm talking about most of the Keep. Game 5 takes place in Southern Thedas, with the focus being on Fereldan, Orlais, and the Free Marches.
You play as the Inquisitor once more. You get to decide what happened between you and your LI in character creation: are you married now? Did you break up post-game? The game starts with you saying goodbye to your LI (if you still have one) then getting on a ship. No need for dialogue from LI, so no excuses about hunting down voice actors. The game starts with you getting a spirit hand, so that you can once again be the hero of the land. The ship is your Lighthouse, your base of operations that is always moving.
Your companions are:
dwarven grey warden woman (warrior)
human or elven orleasian bard man (rogue)
qunari runaway saarebas woman (mage)
spirit of wisdom (mage) *this is Solas in disguise, spying on you.
human avaar man (warrior)
human woman who definitely killed her husband (warrior)
dwarven artificer who is making bombs and got exiled to the surface (woman, rogue)
elf man who used to work for Solas but deflected (mage)
DLC character: my son Kieran, who is customizable, and also a blood mage
All of them are romancable if your Inky is single except for maybe Kieran.
Don't worry, though: you get frequent letters from your previous LI's giving you life updates (except for Solas but like. you know)
The core gameplay loop is sailing the Waking Sea to defend people from darkspawn and try to find more info on Elgar'nan, who is definitely causing trouble.
Places you visit:
Highever (Fereldan): I have legit always wanted to go there. Saving my origin character's hometown that is currently being ravaged by darkspawn? Fuck yeah
obviously, the slaughter of Denerim (Fereldan). Bonus points if we save the life of King Alistair/Queen Anora
Ostwick (Free Marches)
Val Royeaux (Orlais)
Cumberland (Orlais)
Maybe also Orzamar?
Jader
Final battle at Halamshiral because we love a callback.
Essentially, all the stuff we hear about in Inky's letters about the south, we now get to experience in the game.
Elgar'nan has done something fucky with time magic and now Halamshiral is half modern Orlais, half ancient elven empire. He's trying to bring the veil down, and Solas is unsure if he wants to stop him, or wait until he brings the Veil down to stop him.
Inky requests Rook from the Fade. Rook tells Inky about Solas's betrayal. Double-team Act 3 time, where people may still die depending on faction strengths in Veilguard, and who/what Inky has managed to save in Dreadwolf.
Assume you manage to stop Elgar'nan, and then the question becomes:
Do you, the Inquisitor, stop Solas? Save him from himself? Or die trying?
