like i get it. y'all're thinking 'murphy why do you care so much about a tumblr poll' but if you didn't play fo3 and experienced the agonising wait for fo4 to come out? i just. it is so hard to find the words for the disappointment i experienced. sarah is such an iconic part of fo3 don't even hate about it, and i love her to bits, and then the next game comes out with All New Returning Friends like maxson and maccready and shit like that and what do we get? a terminal entry where one line mentions she died off-screen. to Something.
i honestly wouldn't even wish that experience onto someone. it was DEVASTATING. im still enraged about it. so if i must do anything for my girl i must have her become The fridged character. the one the writers really, actually, genuinely couldn't figure shit out for.

@desertbled asked:
11, 12, 13, 14 ( for jamie :^) )
romance & relationship headcanons!–––ACCEPTING
11. how comfortable is your muse with their appearance and their body?
Considering the fact that Jamie puts a fair bit of effort into his appearance I'd say very! Though he does tend to be on the more modest/reserved side with showing it off, he works hard for his physique and he works hard to keep himself looking good with like his grooming and generally taking care of his own appearance.
12. does your muse get flustered easily? how would they typically react to compliments from someone they are interested in/dating?
Honestly not really? It's not to say it doesn't matter to him since that intimacy is pretty important, but it's actually pretty rare for Jamie to get flustered/tongue-tied despite the circumstances, I think that's why it's so special when it does happen because it actually takes quite a bit to get him flustered to the point of being at a loss for words. He typically tends to be pretty humble & kinda playful when it comes to be complimented by people he's interested in.
13. what traits does your muse value in a romantic partner?
I'd say the biggest trait is someone with a desire to do good / improve the world state. In fallout that's much harder to come by than I think people give it credit for, and given that Jamie's whole thing is trying to make up for deeds he isn't proud of, I'd say that's a PRETTY BIG + on his end. Generally speaking I'd also say Jamie tends to gravitate to people who can bring out a measure of goodness in him as well? He was raised to controlled and so oppressed just across the board by his dad and the cycle really continued after his dad that I'd say someone who can almost 'teach' him how to be free is I think a good partner for him.
14. what traits does your muse want to avoid when it comes to choosing a romantic partner?
I can't really pinpoint specifics mostly because he tends to be highly critical of a lot of people, but I'll use some in-game characters as an example: people who have Maxson's like delusion of grandeur drive him up the wall, and follow a cause blindly without stopping to think if it's the right thing or not. He also CANNOT stand people who are so convinced that there's no world left to save that they're indifferent/give up ( very similar to Father from the Institute ). Jamie also hates prejudices generally speaking. The closest example I can give is how Desdemona tends to be with regard to the greater Commonwealth. People who kind of look at a situation are are basically "Well I can't change it so I don't care and it's not worth it" get under his skin like nobody's business. However his BIGGEST pet peeve is someone who doesn't understand the meaning of boundaries. Trying to force him to open up. Trying force him to be something he isn't makes him so mad it's not even funny. He genuinely shuts off and disengages with people when they ignore his boundaries.

@uncxntrxllable SAID:
What inspires your writing? Are you someone who prefer a lot of paragraphs, or few? Are there any characters that make you uncomfortable? What is your favorite show, but your least favorite character in said show? Who is your favorite muse, and why? What’s the most difficult thing about being a multi muse blog?
QUESTIONS FOR AUTHORS.
So sorry these are late! But thank you very much for these ♡♡
What inspires your writing?
Whatever I'm fixating on, the music I'm listening to when I open my drafts, and (sometimes) random shit I see online.
Oh! And Philip Pullman's writing for 'His Dark Materials'. His descriptions and use of thematic repetition are just... UGH. So good. I want to get the novels, but even the show does an incredible job at conveying the overarching message of his work. I aspire to achieve Pullman's level of description.
Are you someone who prefer a lot of paragraphs, or few?
I don't really have a preference, honestly, aside from straying away from one liners. Whatever it takes to get the point across is good enough for me.
Are there any characters that make you uncomfortable?
Oh yeah, there's a good few on my roster that make me feel uncomfortable while writing (because I often revisit their media to get inspiration/their voice). A few include:
• Billy Grey
• Andrew Milton (Both bc of the character & bc of my experiences with that fandom)
• Colonel Walker
• Buck / Bambi (Depending on the plot, but his character gives me hella icks)
• Caesar
• Elder Maxson
What is your favorite show, but your least favorite character in said show?
Ooh this one made me think because I haven't been watching many shows lately, but I'll recycle an answer. His Dark Materials. Seriously a top notch show...
I fucking despise Father Gomez. He's written so well as a villain that I genuinely hate him and that is why I plan on writing him here. He's just so... The obsession he ends up having with Lyra and Will, and the way he navigates everything with the organization he's a part of?
Disgusting ♡
Who is your favorite muse, and why?
Splitting this because I feel like it's only fair—
Favorite Canon: This one was genuinely hard for me to answer because so many can claim the title for so many reasons, but if I HAD to pick (I do)... Venom Snake. I am so fucking normal about him, and that is a lie. His whole arc is just... OUGH! I could go on forever about how TPP is easily one of my faves, but instead I'll direct to this video essay by Michael Saba [Metal Gear Solid V is a Misunderstood Anti-War Masterpiece] as I think it does a good job at explaining the intense symbolism, the message, and how that all coils around Venom Snake.
Favorite OC: Vinny... My primary V. I just. I love how stubborn he is. I love how he has this drawn out arc of genuinely believing in the corporate system, watching it fuck him over, and eventually having to circle back to it (granted, through the government instead of directly through the corporation). Watching how he ebbs and flows throughout Night City and the overall world around him. Writing him seeing that he means nothing, and seeing him make something of that.
What’s the most difficult thing about being a multi muse blog?
I think the hardest part about being multi-muse is honestly dividing my motivation across muses. And I think it's less of a multi problem and more of a neurodivergence problem (for me), because when I fixate, I fixate hard.
But! I've been getting better with it the past few months by just, finding different ways to motivate my writing.

Also the same folks saying Maximus is somehow more problematic than The Ghoul because he aligns with the Brotherhood, are probably also the same people who would faun over Paladin Danse during the events of Blind Betrayal. But only because their blorbo blimbus was "betrayed" and thus made all of his internalized bigotry justified.
Like... even after Elder Maxson fucks off and leaves Danse alone — IF you succeed in the charisma check — Danse is still clinging onto his Brotherhood beliefs, despite accepting that he himself is the very thing he's been taught to hate. Which is excellent nuance, but for some reason acknowledging the same nuance in a character like Maximus — who, presumably, also is taught the same tenets, if the Brotherhood hasn't changed much between the events of the games and the show, if there is a time gap — is bad?
But acknowledging the similar, albeit very little nuance in a character like Cooper Howard is... good? Because it makes him "complex," somehow more complex than Maximus, or any of the characters in the show? Or the vast majority of them that have similar if not identical amounts of layers to their characters?
I don't know man, I'm not saying people can't just watch a show to watch a show, without necessarily having to think critically about deeper themes or subliminal messaging. But Fallout as a series has ALWAYS had socio-political messaging. Even aside from the whole "WAR BAD" message, there's also a message at face value that shows that even people who were once good — or once had good intentions — can be changed by the climate of war and famine. I.E. Cooper Howard. And Maximus. And Lucy.
Saying that Cooper somehow has better, more "fleshed out" character development alongside Lucy than any of the other characters in the Fallout show (I.E. Maximus, Norm, Hank, etc.) is not only ignorant, but it goes to show that you didn't watch the Fallout show for the art, complex themes, attention to detail, and love for the universe. You watched it because you want to fuck the Tumblr sexyman.
Which isn't bad, but call it what it is. I would be lying if I said I didn't start watching the Fallout show because of Cooper, but honestly the scene that most made me want to watch it the most was the pre-war scene at the beginning of Episode 1, where Cooper and his daughter watch a nuclear mushroom cloud rise in the distance.
And, as such, you shouldn't tell a person to simply "consume more media" to better understand a pairing, when they've not only consumed media before watching the show, but they've played several of the Fallout games already, which consist of similar themes. Instead, you should expand your horizons and play the Fallout games.
People usually go into subfandom tags because they want to enjoy content from people who like the same thing as they do, so tagging negative posts with a subfandom tag can feel like you are calling them over to tell them what they like sucks. A common thing I've seen is "[Subfandom] critical" being used so that people who just want to relax and have a good time can filter it out while people who are looking for the topic, good or bad, can still see it.
-
Personally, I like Ghoulcy better because it is a lot less "real", and I enjoy watching unstable dynamics that end in partners who see each other as equals. VaultKnight, on the other hand, involves a member of a genocidal organization lying about who he is to someone who trusts him. While not a "worse" dynamic, it hits closer to home as well as lacking various tropes I enjoy that are present in Ghoulcy.
Alright, so, I see where you're coming from in regards to being hands-off in tagging... "ship discourse," though I'm not really sure how a differring opinion qualifies as discourse. But I'll look past it. After all, I've seen people self-censor in favor of keeping their personal posts off the Tumblr algorithm, so I can respect the request.
However, in saying that "you prefer Gh*ulcy over VaultKnight because of [x] reason," is that not the same as me "having a preference towards VaultKnight over Gh*ulcy because of my own [x] reason?"
I'm not at all saying that you are wrong for your preference, I just find it a little unfair that I can't express distaste towards a ship without it being seen as hate, or me being seen as a puritan, when I could have easily said something like "OH BOOO, GH*ULCY SUCKS! EVERYONE WHO LIKES IT SUCKS!" instead of giving my honest thoughts.
Even if a lot of my thoughts were pretty ham-fisted into the post, when I look back at it. I feel like lumping responsibility onto me for people misunderstanding what I was saying is... I don't know, a bit silly. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells to have an opinion.
As for VaultKnight, though, while Max does work for a genocidal organization, at the very end of Season 1 when Thaddeus discovers he's been turned into a ghoul, Maximus doesn't immediately pull out his weapon to kill him like some other Brotherhood members might have, as per Maximus's warning for Thaddeus to "get out of there," before the Vertibird arrived.
While it is true that Maximus is a bit of a liar, and lets power get to his head in several instances throughout the course of the season, to say that he is only inspired wholly by evil, selfish means is extremely one-dimensional.
Yes, the fact that he is a Brotherhood initiate is bad, given the tenets the faction stands for, but despite this, Maximus is still capable of performing good deeds, such as curing Lucy of her radiation sickness, or sparing everyone in Vault 4 after a misunderstanding... which is a tenet to his temptation to misunderstand situations. I like characters that aren't completely 100% good OR 100% bad: Cooper also being a shining example of this.
Anyways, those are my thoughts on the matter. My opinion is that I don't like Gh*ulcy, for reasons I personally consider to be justified, as people all have personal taste. I don't care if people like it. My personal opinion isn't a "gotcha" to people who like the ship.

Fallout 4 - Companions + select NPC react to Sole asking them how they’re single!
MacCready:
"If you wanna ask me on a date just say so." [insert the goofiest grin mankind has ever seen]
Hancock:
"I just haven't found the right person to settle down with, yet..."
Cait:
"Relationships ain't really my jazz, 'less you're tryin' to imply somethin' here."
Piper:
"I ask myself that everyday, Blue."
Nick:
"I don't think many people see this old synth and picture a happy relationship, heh."
Preston:
"Well, I suppose my heart is saved for someone whenever they're ready." [avoids Sole’s eyes in case he gave his crush on them away]
Danse:
"I- uh, I- solider, is that really appropriate?" [intense blushing and denial of blushing]
Maxson:
[chokes]
Curie:
"I do not have much experience in the 'dating world' as you call it, madam/monsieur."
Deacon:
"I know right."
Desdemona:
"Dating does nothing to save the synths."
Sturges:
"Suppose I haven't really explored my options, maybe you could be of help with that?"
X6-88:
"I do not date."
Gage:
"No use bein' in a relationship with another raider. They'll slit yer throat in yer sleep, an' I won't be havin' that."
Mason:
"Can't say that I'm too easy to tame, boss. I wouldn't object if you wanted to try, though."
Mags Black:
"None of these idiots appeal to me. In all honestly, the idea of a relationship never even crossed my mind until I met you."

I have two asks if you don't mind
Romance companion react to Sole proposing to them with their dead spouse wedding ring?
How long would it take each companions before they are the ones to propose?
OOH- I’ll answer the second one first and the first one at a later date 😅
Cait:
•It’ll take a LONG time. Not because she doesn’t want to marry you, because by god, she really does. It’s just that she wants to get clean first and prove to herself (and secretly you as well) that she can stay that way. She wants to be “good” enough before she puts herself out there and pops the question. This can take anywhere between a couple months of getting clean or maybe even a year.
Curie:
•It would take a while for her to really get a grasp on life itself in her synth body..so give her some time. She wants to marry you, but she wants to have everything “down” before she does it. She’ll probably take the longest out of all the companions to propose on her own.
Danse:
•For danse it really depends. Given that Blind Betrayal doesn’t happen in the span of time it does in game..Danse would take a decent amount of time to propose. You must be of equal rank to him and no longer his charge..but once that works out, he’ll happily propose. However if Blind Betrayal happens before (and it isn’t the best idea) Danse might be more susceptible to propose sooner than not.
Deacon:
•He desperately wants to marry you after ya’ll have been together for a while, but Deacon just can’t quite get himself together to do it. Just let him have a few good talks in the mirror and eventually he’ll get the gumption to propose. Expect a year or two and he’ll break.
Gage:
•Believe it or not the only thing holding him back is fear. That’s right. He’s terrified that you’ll reject him. However that can only last so long, you have an affect on him that no one ever had before. Don’t expect anything too fancy or romantic..but he’ll pop the question once the parks are powered.
Hancock:
•He’ll marry you the fastest. Don’t argue with me.
Macready:
•He’s not fooling anyone- Mac is a hopeless romantic. After bringing Duncan into the Commonwealth, getting him established in a home and maybe we’ll acquainted with Shaun- he’ll happily pop the question.
Maxson:
•No matter how much he wants it- he can’t bring himself to propose until affairs are taken care of in the commonwealth. Once the Institue is taken care of though..you can guarantee Maxson is getting on one knee as soon as he can get things straight and organize a proper romantic setting away from the Prydwen.
Nick:
•With Nick it’s relatively simple..whenever it’s feels right. I know- overly simple, but that’s kind of how Nick thinks it should be. He trusts that he’ll know when it’s right.
Piper:
•She’ll ask when she feels 1000% secure in the relationship. It’ll most likely be within the second year if things go smooth enough and the institue is out of the picture.
Preston:
•The biggest hurdle for Preston is making it the “right” time. Not to be dramatic but he honestly could’ve married you the minute you retook the castle..but he wants it to be just “perfect”. Who knows when that’ll be.
X6-88:
•It might come as a surprise but he actually wouldn’t take all that long..once proven to himself that he is worthy of of it. Well..yknow..reasonably long time.

I don't know your OCs names but tell me about any Fallout 4 OC!! Who do they travel with (if anyone at all)? What are their highest and lowest SPECIAL stats? In their opinion, are hotdogs sandwiches or tacos?
Well i'm sorry to say that none of my ocs are fallout based, they're just free floating ocs with no story meant to be placed in anything I want. However as Fallout is a favorite of mine that doesn't mean I haven't thought about it. I'll do my confirmed ocs first and then the more 'in development' ones Fallon, I see him more as a drifter in the universe. He probably hangs around Diamond city, trying to scam people at Fallon's that he owns the place. He doesn't but it has gotten him a few sales. He goes out into the remains of the city and collects junk to sell, probably goes to Bunker Hill alot. He's a bit of a troublemaker, occasionally drifting into a raider gang for supplies or just hang out before being run out. Otherwise he's a loner. If he could travel with a companion, he'd probably get along with MacCready the best or Deacon, hell he's probably hangs out with Piper if she doesn't chastise him for occasionally hanging with a raider and if he met Cass or Veronica he'd probably be friends. His highest is probably Agility and Endurance and lowest is Strength When I originally had Dom, I figured he'd be apart of the Brotherhood in fallout 4 as a more reluctant member that disagreed with Maxson every step. The more that I think about it, Dom really isn't a fighter. He will fight, yes, but he's better with words despite his appearance. So I could see him as part of the Crimson Caravan from New Vegas perhaps helping get supplies or one of the more technical divisions. Because of this he's probably near the Strip or Freeside and probably interacts with the people around there alot, taking in suggestions and making friends with the Kings or the stores. Because of that he probably at least knows about Arcade, but outside of that he'd probably like Lily, Nick Valentine and Piper. His highest would be Charisma and Intelligence and his lowest would be Agility. In Development Ocs (this stuff is probable to change) Ok so i'm gonna name one for the sake of this the color associated with them so Green and Red Green is a very antisocial man, he's not mean but people make him nervous and he comes off as rude and offputting to most. I don't think he'd wanna get with alot of faction, maybe not cause he doesn't like them but probably cause he just... can communicate well. So he's probably part of the Minutemen. People come, ask for help, just nod your head and do the dirty work and get out. And hell people MIGHT ask for help you don't know for sure, but YOU can ask for help. Win win. Honestly he probably lives alone, in the middle of no where trying to survive until he has to go get supplies. Boone and him would have long... non existent conversations, probably like Preston if he ever got to meet him. Curie would be TOO nice to him dear god. Highest stat is Perception, lowest is Charisma Red is kinda a dick. He's egotistical, a prick at times but he's got an ok heart you just gotta find it. He's also a huge ass coward. He'd probably be a part of the NCR thinking he'd be safe in a big group and learn to fight but when it comes to real battle he's no good. Everyone would kinda hate him too so he'd never go up in rank, always doing dirty work. Maybe he'd be better was a medic. He'd probably hang out with people like Gage or Cait if given the chance but who knows how long it would take until their trying to kill each other. People like Preston, Danse, Arcade and Nick would help bring him down to earth though as to how much likes them back idk. His highest stat would be Strength and Luck, lowest would be Intelligence

"I feel safe around you" the Danse x X6 fic!
Chapter 3
New drinking game, take a shot every time I use softly/soft, gentle/gently or quietly/quiet. /j
Enjoy!
X6 was starting to get used to this life, three months and a few weeks had gone by since he left the Institute and he had a... friend, wich was a bizarre to him, but despite their differences the two got along rather well, even though X6 still got this weird warm feeling whenever he's around Danse.
Even when he's just walking beside him, the warm feeling is there... he's starting to think he might have to get that checked out.
"We're here." Danse speaks up, snapping X6 out of his thoughts.
"Shouldn't be much of a problem, just some fearl ghouls." X6 said looking at the area that was going to become a new settlement, currently being occupied by the fearls.
"Agreed." Danse said, nodding and readying his laser rifle.
~~~an hour later~~~
Danse breathed a sigh of relief
"Phew, there was more that we anticipated- but asides from that, the mission went well." He says, taking another breath before continuing-
"Good work as awlays X." Danse finishes.
"Mhm." X6 acknowledged, trying to ignore the weird fluttery feeling he always gets when he's praised by Danse.
Danse sets up the the radio tower while X6 sets up some basic defenses (some walls and guard posts)- A few hours later and their work is done, the sun is starting to go down as they leave.
As their makeing their way to Sanctuary Danse looks troubled, X6 feels...worried.
[Yeah I'm definitely defective, empathy is not something I'm supposed to have...] X6 thinks.
"You seem troubled, why?" X6 asks.
He can't believe he actually just said that.
"...Nate is going to blow up Liberty Prime and the Prwyn..." Danse says in a lowered voice.
"Oh." X6 says, a little caught of guard by Danse's honesty.
"I don't know how to feel about it..." Danse says, X6 can tell he's conflicted about this.
"Why? Didn't Elder Maxson banish you from the brotherhood and pronounce you dead?- And also haven't you've been shot on sight by the brotherhood?" X6 asks, there's actual concern in his voice.
Danse furrows his brow as he answers
"...I know the brotherhood will never let me back in, I know that... but I spent so much of my life dedicated to them and their beliefs... I still find myself working with their principles in mind." He sighs.
"I think I understand... I know Nate plans to destroy the Institute and I don't really know how to feel about it either." X6 says honestly.
"Different boats, same storm." Danse states.
X6 looks at Danse, he hadn't heard that saying before but figured what it ment. He looks back at the the road.
"Well I guess we both feel conflicted about the places we can't go back to being destroyed" X6 said sadly, there was a liquid suddenly welling up in his eyes- a sadness punching him in the gut, making him stop in his tracks.
Danse turns around to see X6 looking obviously upset, (even with his sunglasses on) and he steps closer to him.
"X?" Danse calls out, concerned.
X6 took off his sunglasses and tried to wipe the liquid coming out of his eyes... was he... crying...?
He tried to stifle a sob as he realizes that he hadn't really acknowledged his feelings since he left the Institute, all these feeling hit him in big overwhelming waves and he couldn't hold in anymore as he lets out a loud cries and falls into Danse's arms, tears streaming down his face.
He's having a hard time breathing, he finally takes a gasping breath when Danse puts his hand on X6's back.
A combination of ignoring and avoiding his emotions all his life and never being touched like this, made X6 grab onto Danse, griping his power armor as much as he could- sobbing against the middle of the torso- He starts to hyperventilate.
"Hey, hey deep breaths..." Danse soothes, putting his other hand on X6's back, being as gentle as possible.
X6 blinks hard and takes a deep shuddering breath in and out...
"That's good, keep doing that" Danse encourages softly.
X6 breaths deeply again, he keeps doing it until he finally calms down, letting go of Danse and stepping back- wiping his flushed face.
"I'm sorry..." X6 says, his voice shaking.
"Never apologize for feeling overwhelmed, or for feeling anything for that matter..." Danse says gently, he looks so concerned for X6.
X6 smiles at Danse, and quietly laughs.
"...t-thanks... please don't tell anyone about this..." X6 says, still feeling a little embarrassed.
"Of course." Danse said softly.
"Let's go home..." X6 says, starting to walk again.
~~~
X6 was never exactly happy to go back to the Institute back in his courser days, but he was happy to be home. He felt relaxed...safe even.
"Danse?" X6 said looking at Danse who had just sat beside him on the couch.
"Yes?" Danse answered curiously.
"I uh- really appreciate earlier..." X6 said, his face becoming flushed.
"Of course, I care about my friends, X..." Danse responded, smiling at X6.
Danse puts a hand on X6's shoulder, that warm feeling becoming stronger.
"Speaking of that, how are you feeling?" Danse asked concerned.
"B-better now, I'm still processing what happened..." X6 said, trying to ignore the urge to hug Danse, being touch starved was an under statement.
"That's good to hear, take your time with it- it seemed be a lot at once." Danse said gently, giving X6's shoulder a squeeze before he let go and spoke up again.
"If you want to to talk to me about it, I'll try to give the best advice and comfort I can." he said with a soft smile.
"Thank you, that's very kind" X6 said, feeling worn out from what happened today.
"I'm going to sleep..." He says, yawning.
"You've definitely earned it" Danse says, giving him a caring look.
~~~
X6 woke up with a gasp- he had dreamt that he was found and been taken back to the Institute, his breaths where rapid.
he tried to calm down- it wasn’t really working, X6 got off his bad and quietly paced around his room... he needed comfort, and with a racing heart he left room and knocked on Danse's bedroom door- he felt guilty about waking him up at 1 am... but he now knows what happens if he just stuffs his feelings down.
Danse opens the door to see X6 looking worried.
"What's wrong?" Danse asked, rubing his face.
"I'm sorry, I know it's late... I just- I had a nightmare a-and I can't calm down..." X6 stuttered, he never used to do that that.
"It's okay X, I said I'd be there for you didn't I? That includes 1 am in the morning." Danse says gently.
X6 listens to his inner wants and just hugs Danse, crying softly- he's never been shown such care in his life asides from Nate.
Danse is a little surprised by X6's hug, but he reciprocates it, gently rubing X6's back with one hand. He does this for a few moments, and then X6 pulls away, wiping his eyes.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Danse asks in a quiet voice.
X6 nods, heading inside Danse's bedroom, a oil lamp softly illuminating the room.
"You can sit on my bed if you want..." Danse offers.
X6 takes up on the offer and sits down, Danse sits besides him.
"I'm terrified that the Institute will find me" X6 says, taking deep breaths- trying to calm his shaking.
"I have the same fear actually..." Danse responded.
"Really?" X6 asks, looking at him.
"Yes..." Danse says softly.
X6 leans his head on Danse's shoulder, and when Danse's puts arm around him- he hugs Danse again.
"I don't know why I'm being so...touchy...I'm sorry..." X6 says in a quiet voice.
"It's okay X, it's okay... I really don't mind..." Danse reassures.
X6 takes some deep breaths...feeling tired... he eaily falls asleep in Danse's arms, he felt safe after all.
((There's a mod that allows the Minutemen or the Brotherhood to launch an organized attack against Nuka World. This got me thinking, I know the raiders pick off the Minutemen while taking over settlements, don't know about the castle (would be fun lording that as a raider) But if the Brotherhood retaliated or resisted, do you think the raiders would end them at the source in Boston? Send that blimp up in a blaze of glory? Thanks for hosting a wonderfully fun blog, ❤ it and you.))
((Wow, I’ve never heard of that mod! It sounds really cool, actually, and I could see The Minutemen agreeing to help The BOS (since The General of The Minutemen is the SS who is most likely in The BOS as their knight/paladin/sentinel), but I don’t really know if I see Arthur Maxson seeing The Minutemen as being strong enough to be their ally in battle, or even being comfortable with the idea of sharing the glory, but I’m not entirely sure, I could be wrong, I don’t know Maxson as well as I think I do, so this is all just speculation. I think they’d probably just attack on their own, unless of course The Minutemen had proven themselves by taking down The Institute. So, still, very very possible for them to link up. Might upset The RR, but of course this is all brainstorming and headcannons and getting off track here :P I’m going to check out that mod. It sounds epic.
From my experience in Nuka World, I’ve actually killed a few Brotherhood of Steel members at the request of The Raider Bosses. They don’t tell you who you’re attacking, you find out who they are as you’re attacking them, but I’ve attacked The Minutemen, The Brotherhood of Steel, The Gunners, and rival Raider gangs so far. This turns none of the factions hostile, for the sake of the DLC, but I believe realistically, the Raider bosses understand that these factions can retaliate against them and work together, as The Pack, The Operators, and The Disciples did against the original settlers who lived in Nuka World before the three raider gangs were organized and strong enough to take down not only all of Nuka World’s previous owners, but their hired guns, who Gage mentioned to be unruly upon arrival. They also understand these factions can work alone and try to overthrow them with their own firepower.
This being said, like my earlier post about The Institute (https://askportergage.tumblr.com/post/174958694854/i-dont-think-its-possible-but-i-think-the) goes the same way for The BOS, but for different reasons.
So, in short, so you don’t have to read all of the link, I believe Nuka World wouldn’t go after The BOS for any reason besides The BOS coming after Nuka World first.
I don’t believe that the Raider Bosses personally dislike these factions, but that they merely get in their way, and they are more of a nuisance than an actual threat. If they became more of a problem, and started to attack Nuka World, or send patrols around in Nuka World, or anything more than they have already been doing against specifically Nuka World’s raiders, Nuka World would immediately turn hostile and they’d all team up again and attack The Brotherhood if they had to. Taking down The BOS would be beneficial to them, but I think they understand the gravity of firepower the BOS have. Gage also mentions they’re basically Raiders, they take what they want. This makes me believe there’s some sort of silent respect the Raiders have for them, enough to not actually start anything too intense unless necessary.
I don’t think they’d try to blow it out of the sky without discussing the idea of using that blimp for caps somehow. All of that power armor would mean either caps for the raiders, or more armor for the raiders, although I doubt they’d use them unless a swarm of attackers started destroying NW. Also, a blimp that could travel would mean they could monitor and take from not just Boston’s settlements, aaand they could really post up anywhere and claim more settlements outside of Boston as well if they were able to figure out how to keep The Prydwen afloat, but honestly, if even Proctor Ingram has problems keeping it afloat (unless The SS chooses to help her not only find the resources for the fuel, but also make the fuel for her), The Raiders would have a difficult time, not because they’re stupid, but because Proctor Ingram has a lot more access to educating herself with the use of all the pre-war tech/documents/etc. The BOS have collected.
If they realized they couldn’t salvage The Prydwen, they wouldn’t hesitate to set it ablaze, and blow it right out of the sky, while the gangs wreak havoc in the Boston Airport and kill all of the soldiers at the bottom, and steal their power armor and abundant supply of weaponry, food, and ammo, because they’d love the thrill of being up close and personal in the attack and taking, taking, taking.
This being said, I’m not sure The BOS has enough of a reason to come after Nuka World before the storyline ending, because it seems they are more fixated with The Commonwealth’s threats that are non-human, but Elder Maxson also makes sure the SS knows that he does indeed care for the people of The Commonwealth.
I believe, if The Institute has been destroyed, and because The BOS stays in The Commonwealth (even if they didn’t take down The Institute), they would probably set their sights on taking out Nuka World sooner or later, if Nuka World has taken enough settlements the BOS could be raiding from (because Proctor Teagan will pay you to force settlements into sending supplies to The BOS, and losing these settlements to raiders would be problematic), or if Nuka World raiders have become more of an population issue for The BOS (since they’re already killing BOS members to begin with), The BOS would most likely strike first. In fact, it’d probably be a huge possibility that The BOS would retaliate, but for the sake of keeping Nuka World purely a DLC that doesn’t affect the storyline for anyone, even with The Minutemen (even if you upset Preston and finish Nuka World as an Overboss and help The Raiders take The Commonwealth, he will still let you stay as The Minutemen’s General, he is just disappointed in you and will not be your friend ever again. If you try to become The General after completing Nuka World and you chose to help The Raiders take The Commonwealth, he will not talk to you and you cannot become The General from that point on), but that’s the only way you can ruin the storyline if you decide to do an evil run as an Overboss! :) But is it possible for The BOS to get upset, and go after Nuka World? 100% possible. There are more reasons than the ones I listed, and It would be a very cool alternate ending, honestly, if those factions feuded, but I could understand why Bethesda chose not to do this.
But again, this is all my personal headcannons and my own theorizing. I may or may not be right.
Thank you for the question! I hope this ask was thorough enough and what you were looking for! :D)
Conversation
Companions plus faction leaders see get Sole get gravely injured and while trying to help them, they try to walk it off and continue the fight
Cait: One moment, both Cait and Sole were having the time of their lives, decimating supermutants. The next, Sole was screaming while a mutant dog tore up their arm. Cait bashed the dog's head in without a moment's hesitation. She was about to go back into the fight when she saw Sole trying to get up and grab their weapon. "Oh, no you don't! Sit back down Sole!" Sole said that they were perfectly capable of fighting, but Cait wasn't having it. She forced Sole to stay seated, then threatened them to stay or else. Sole begrudgingly allowed Cait to fix them up. After she was done, she pointed a finger at Sole and told them that if they worried her like that again, she'd kill them herself.
Codsworth: Codsworth honestly thought that Sole was invincible before he saw them get torn up by a feral ghoul. He told Sole that they should heal themselves while he takes care of the remaining ghouls, but Sole wasn't hearing it. They told him that they were fine and limped back into the fray. Codsworth couldn't really argue with Sole, so he made sure to take care of the toughest enemies. Ensuring that Sole would have it easier.
Curie: Curie lets out a rather loud gasp when she sees the blood blossoming on Sole's thigh while they were fighting gunners. Curie tries to treat it right away, even with Sole telling her to stop over and over again. Sole just keeps on firing their gun while Curie patches their leg up as best she can with them standing. When the last of their enemies were down, Curie properly fixes Sole's leg, not noticing their piercing stare until she glanced up. "What's the matter madam/monsieur..?" She looks quite shocked. "You got in my way during the fight!" Curie winces and tiltes her head down. "I-I'm sorry, but you seemed to b-be in pain..." She looked up. "I just wanted to help, really!" Sole put their hand on their kind hearted companion's shoulder. "I know Curie, but next time help me when everything wanting to kill us is dead."
Danse: Sole got knocked out for a few seconds when a synth hit them with a shock baton. Danse quickly destroyed it, before turning to Sole with his brow furrowed in worry. "You okay soldier?" Sole blinked out the remaining spots in their vision. "Yeah, I'm fine." They tried to stand, but ended up falling right back down. They tried twice more before Danse commanded them to stay. Sole tried to protest, but to no avail. They couldn't disobey a direct command from someone with a higher rank than them. By the time Danse returned, Sole was able to walk, but Danse still had them lean on him. After a few minutes of silence, Sole looked up at Danse and quietly asked him, "Please don't tell Elder Maxson about my screw up today." Danse kept looking forward, but there was a small smile on his face. "Of course soldier. I know you'd do the same for me."
Deacon: Sole and Deacon were doing fairly well against a group of raiders up until Sole slipped and got shot multiple times in the stomach. Deacon turned around when he heard Sole's scream. His eyes went wide, panicking for a second before pulling himself together. He shot the raiders around them before running up to inspect Sole's injuries. They tried telling him that they're fine, but coughed up blood while doing so. "Uh-huh. I've heard some pretty bad lies in my time, but I think that one just took the cake. Sorry, but you're staying where you are." All Sole could do was groan and lean their head back while Deacon finished up. He already had stimpacks ready when he came back to Sole's spot. They ended up camping there for the night, giving Sole plenty if time to think about how lucky they are to have Deacon as a companion.
Dogmeat: Sole gets grazed by a feral's bony hands while in downtown Boston. Dogmeat thinks that Sole is seriously hurt, so he goes absolutely berserk on the rest of the ferals. 'Must protect human!' Sole ends up not being able to shoot anything because Dogmeat's in the way. He gets rewarded with a brahmin steak later on for being such a good boy.
Hancock: Hancock damn near went feral when Sole got seriously hurt by a raider. He only increased the violence when he saw that Sole was trying to help him, scared that they'd get in an even worse condition. He was not going to lose the one good thing he had left on this world. When he saw Sole's dumbfounded look after he was done, he burst out laughing. "Chalk that up to 'reasons why I'm awesome." That snapped Sole out of it. "Yeah, yeah. Just fix me up already." He did it without hesitation and helped Sole to their feet. While they were walking away, Hancock ruffled Sole's hair affectionately, and told them not to worry him so much. Sole just smirked and said that they couldn't promise anything.
MacCready: While fighting a bunch of gunners, Sole was flung across the street by a man in power armour. "Holy fu-frick!" MacCready's eyes went wide when he saw his friend sprawled across the pavement. Thankfully, Mac shot the guy between the eyes before he could deliver the final blow. MacCready was relieved when he saw Sole get up, but that was quickly replaced by fear when they suddenly clenched their abdomen. "Boss! Are you okay?" Sole grimaced more than they smiled, but they assured him that they were alright. In reality, Sole just didn't want to worry him. A few broken bones is nothing. MacCready was a bit skeptical, but trusted Sole to know what they were doing. The poor guy never learned that Sole was actually very hurt.
Nick: Nick thought he was going to overheat with how hard he was working to keep Sole safe. Sole had just gotten a nasty gash from a mirelurk a few minutes prior, and Nick didn't want them to over exert themselves with more fighting. When the last mutated crab was down, Nick went to heal Sole straight away. They tried pushing him away, insisting that they were fine. Nick stared them down and said, "Sole." That one word was enough to make Sole give in. They couldn't compete with Nick's stern voice. He had a smug smile the entire time he was fixing them up.
Piper: "OH MY GOD! BLUE!" Needless to say, Piper was downright terrified. The last thing she wanted was for her best friend to die. She didn't even wipe out the rest of the enemies, she just picked up Sole and ran. She ran until she came across Diamond City. Piper took Sole to the clinic, demanding immediate medical attention. All the stress made Piper pass out on her friend's cot after the doc fixed them up. She was just glad that Sole would be alright.
Preston: There was only one stingwing left when it stung Sole. Preston made short work of it, but the poison was spreading quickly, making Preston tear up because he didn't know how to save his friend. He soon sobered, however, when he saw Sole start to walk away. "Where do you think you're going? We need to get you help!" Sole didn't even glance back, probably because they were wincing. "Eh. I'll be okay." Preston wasn't going to let them have their way. He ran up to them, and without warning, hefted Sole over his shoulder. He ran all the way to the nearest settlement, even with Sole demanding he put them down.
Strong: He let Sole get back up and continue to fight after they got hurt by some mutants. He would've thought them weak if they hadn't. Strong did go on ahead to take the brunt of the fire, so that Sole wouldn't die of course. Then who would help him find the milk of human kindness?
X6-88: X6 made a disapproving sound when he saw that Sole had been incapacitated by a stray bullet or four.vHe obliterated the remaining enemies before lifting Sole up bridal style. They asked him what in the world he was doing. One of his eyebrows lifting up in question was the only bit of emotion he showed. "I'm obviously taking you back to the institute to get treated." Sole started pushing against his chest, saying that they're not some damsel in distress. X6 sighed. "With all due respect sir/ma'am. Wouldn't it be better to get bullets dug out of you by sterile equipment?" Sole stopped and thought for a moment. "Holy crap, you're right. Well then, what are we waiting for?" X6 muttered a barely audible "We're waiting for you to accept the obvious answer," before calling in a teleport request.
Desdemona: She couldn't believe it. One of her best heavies knocked out on the ground. They fainted because they saw a molerat. Now Des has to make sure that none of the 'savage beats' could attack Sole. A few minutes after Desdemona was done, Sole woke up. Des wasted no time in chewing out Sole, putting emphasis on them needing to get over their molerat phobia.
Maxson: Maxson would be lying if he said that he wasn't scared shitless. What with Sole bleeding on the ground, and him being the only one who could fight against the rest of the gen-1 synths that infested a building near the airport. He long ago told Sole to not get up no matter what. Somehow, he destroyed all of the synths, and let the tension leave his body. Until it came back when he heard Sole's ragged breathing. He spun around and told them to hop on his back. He didn't know a thing about medicine, but people around the airport do. When he arrived, he was dead tired, but he managed a smile when the doctor that took Sole told him that that'd be alright.
Father: He was absolutely mesmerized by Sole's fighting ability. So much so, that he didn't hear Sole's warning. They had to tackle him out of the way, which made them take they blow he was about to receive. He was stunned for a moment, but when he saw that Sole was standing back up with blood running down their face he scrambled back to his feet. "Mother/Father! Let me-" Sole cut him off. "No Shuan. It's my duty as your parent to protect you. Let me." It tore him up to do so, but he obeyed. He never looked up more to his parent than at that very moment.
Note
How do companions react to being turned into a vampire/werewolf/zombie/???? Use whatever you like, go ham.
(I guess I can exclude nick..I don't think he'd be able to turn into either. Also I didn't really know what to do with the zombie thing 😭)
.:: Werewolf ::.
Cait:
•It probably sounds beyond crazy, but becoming a werewolf is the best thing to happen to Cait. Sure, it's definitely an adjustment..but she no longer craves the substances she once relied upon for stability- she no longer needs them. The beast within was at such great peace with her, it was all she needed.
•She wouldn't have much problem ripping her foes to shreds either. She feels like she is no more animistic than them..also she feels like it really evens out the playing field with those assholes that use power armour. Now she can just peel them apart in her bestial form.
Danse:
•Feels like his life is nothing but a cruel joke. What..so he's not human..but he's human enough to contract lycanthropy?? Well, now he is 0% human..can you imagine how bad this stings?
•Isolates himself out of fear of hurting the last handful of people he cares about.
•Ends up unfortunately starving himself until he becomes feral..stay away from the former Paladin when this happens. He's hungry..so very hungry.
•Better yet..please try to reach out to him before this point...
Macready:
•Mostly alright because he knows he poses no threat to his son while he figures out to gain control.
•Aside from that- Mac is over the moon with his newfound way of life. He had always been the "far away" combatant, but with his invulnerability and sheer strength- he finally can see what it's like to be the opposite.
•Honestly...it's dorky..but he loves it because he feels like he is one of those badass anti-hero types.
Gage:
•Kind of annoyed?? Yeah, that's a good word for it. He feels like having this burden makes him a number one candidate to join The Pack..god knows it was probably one of those assholes that infected him in the first place.
•Nonetheless, being able to shift into a literal beast and mow down anyone who stands in his way? Totally something he approves of..he just wishes he could sleep soundly.
Preston:
•This is by far the worst thing that could happen to him.
•Spends a good bit of his days trying to do what he can to help others, while his nights are spent as far away from the people he cares so much about. If he were to ever harm an innocent because of this disease of his..he wouldn't have the heart to continue. The guilt would be too much.
.:: Vampire ::.
Curie:
•Has the hardest time understanding what she is and what she is supposed to do about it.
•She just got used to a whole new body and way of life..and now this happens? Total bummer. Oh well, like Cole Porter says..anything goes.
•Eventually finds a way to make lemonade out of these awful lemons she has been given..once she figures out the sunlight is no longer a friend of her's.
•Now there is just the problem of finding something to eat.
Deacon:
•Has very conflicted feelings regarding his vampirism. On one hand, he has new abilities that behoove him greatly! On the other though..uh..he can't travel in the daytime. That's a big problem.
•Actually, given some thought..maybe it isn't so bad! It's not like he goes about having nice walks through the wealth anyways...
•He is remarkably okay with drinking the blood of animals..will even tell you what each animal's blood taste like in overly descriptive detail. Gross.
Hancock:
•Doesn't bother him in the slightest bit. Almost thinks it's funny. Now he's a double freak. At least it attracts the ladies even more...
Maxson:
•He nearly loses his lunch when he figures out what happened to him. He has dedicated his life to leading an organization hell bent on the extermination of anything that loses a threat to humans..and what is he?? A bigger threat than supermutants..ghouls..and even synths. He still looks "human".
•Keeps his secret to the best of his ability..however it does become most curios when the elder orders Scribe Neriah to allow him to personally examine her blood samples...
Piper:
•Has the time of her afterlife as a hot vampire chick
