Shout-out to the Hollow Knight Dreamers for having to live through what might be the worst kind of immortality in the worst sort of situation with the worst coworkers.

Each individual Dreamer was already going to experience hell to some extent, but then the Pale King had to go and make them have to put up with EACH OTHER on top of it all. It'd honestly be better if they were straight up bonkers, but instead they're all just BARELY sane enough in diametrically different ways, for maximum opportunities to get on each other's nerves. And the plan was for them to be trapped like that FOREVER. And because they're all so loyal to their individual causes, they can't even be happy when the Knight starts hunting them down to RELEASE them. Even Monomon, who thinks the seals should eventually break and manipulates events to bring such an occurrence about, views it as the lesser of two evils and isn't particularly satisfied with the outcome.

Even when one of the Pale King's plans actually sort of works for once, he still ruins everything.
