Hiya!! 👋🏼😄 How's it going? Your fashion taste for Zuko in a Modern AU seems to be artsy, or maybe "formal" is the word. That shirt he wore when he gave Sokka romantic song advice looked Versace🧐. Anyway, I was wondering how you came up with it, he always struck me more as the type that didn´t care much about fashion, so I'm curious about other´s opinions and heacanons about it. And do you have any other fashion headcanons for the rest of the GAang? Also, their music tastes. How did you come up with them? Especially Katara's! 😍
Hello! As it happens, I have a lot of Thoughts and Feelings™ about this, so I'm leaving these over here, and the rest of my ramblings down below the cut!

Let us begin with the Gaang, shall we?
SUKI always struck me as that Pretty Girl from the Gym. She is so incredibly fit it isn't even funny. She could kick anyone's ass, and we'd all thank her. She has this casual gym style that somehow always looks glorious on her, as it should! Comfy yet fashionable clothes for a nice workout or a day in town.
Her music tastes are basically any and all power songs from the eighties and nineties. (Eye of the Tiger, anyone?) She also enjoys metal via Toph, and bands like BSB, NSYNC, or Boyz II Men with Katara. My girl has a very eclectic Playlist and we all love her for it.
SOKKA is That Guy™. Loose T-shirts and shorts everywhere he goes, no matter the weather. He's stupidly into fashion but it doesn't show! At all! And everyone teases him about it. His closet is about 90% Cactus Juice merchandise, hence the "it's the quenchiest!" shirt.
His fashion and music tastes are pretty much the same. He loves poetry but isn't really into lyrics. He'll misinterpret just about anything you place in front of him. His Playlist is mostly vibes and tiktok songs he kind of enjoys. He isn't really into music...at least not as much as his sister.
AANG owns exactly one hoodie, one pair of shorts, and one beanie (THE beanie). Oh, and the crocs—don't forget the crocs. Somehow, he's always wearing the exact same outfit. Every. Single. Day. Ancient Gaang lore suggests that the day Aang goes out without his beanie, it's the end of the world.
His Playlist is the poppiest, most bizarre thing ever. Every single song is Happy by Pharrell Williams levels of happy. Yet sometimes, among the bouncy dance-to songs, you'll find the strangest of things... (He does know what Good Day by Twenty One Pilots is about. That's the reason he likes it so much, actually. And it's so weird.)
KATARA is all about sundresses and loose pants. The epitome of comfortable loveliness. Light fabrics in blue shades, careful embroidery, delicate shoes, and little to no accessories—hers is a simple, yet quite adorable, style. She just needs to add more colors to her usual palette...
She is, first and foremost, a Florence + The Machine girl. It's the Dark Goddess of the Sea vibes, to be honest. Florence Welch is her idol and yes, she will fight you about lyrics interpretation, and win. It may not seem like it, but her music tastes are also very varied.
She draws a little from each member of the Gaang, so you'll hear her humming along to Gorillaz (where did you even find out about them, Aang?), The Weeknd (I...don't think this song means what you think it means, Sokka...), and Hozier (Zuko why did you dedicate Talk to me, Zuko WHAT DID YOU MEAN BY THAT).
TOPH...ah, lovely girl. I'll summarise everything about Toph’s fashion sense in two words: comfort and rebellion. Stuffy dresses forced on her by billionaire parents? No thank you! Give her tank tops with loose shirts and short pants. Bandaids shared with Aang, bracelets from Katara, and even piercings she got in tandem with Sokka. Shoes? What even is that?
Something I love about this fandom is our collective agreement that Toph is into the dirtiest, heaviest, most ear-splitting and soul-crushing death metal of all times. Her Playlist is full of the most obscure names to ever exist, and she can and will blast through your walls with the sheer volume of her speaker.
Zuko. ZUKO.
Even in a modern AU my boy must suffer. That being said, I envision Tales from the Couch as—well, exactly what it is: an ATLA modern AU. While there is not a war to fight, and a lot of plot lines are discarded or expanded upon, much about the core story remains the same.
This is my way of saying that Zuko still goes trough his redemption arc, and it reflects on his fashion choices.
The way you described it works perfectly because of one single reason: in this AU, Zuko is an artist. He had to suppress his love for writing and drawing because of his background and the expectations Ozai had for him (taking over the family company), and a very large part of his redemption arc directly affects his relationship with art.
In the Couch equivalent of S1, Zuko has fallen out of Ozai's graces, and is desperate to protect his place in the company and the Kasai household. He's pretending to be someone he isn't and trying to live up to his Father's image of a perfect heir while still being somewhat cut-off financially, and it shows.
He's all about imposing long coats and a semi-formal style, imitating what he knows Azula and Father would respect. He's striking and sharp and dark. But no matter how he dresses or carries himself (that air of cold superiority and arrogance)—it won't help him when he needs it the most.
In S2, Zuko has hit his lowest point. He's officially disinherited and tossed away by his father, and would be out in the streets if it wasn't for Uncle Iroh. He goes from sharp, high-tailored outfits to old second-hand clothes that hang loosely on his frame. He starts smoking and cuts his hair off, forgoing the undercut for the first time in years.
But then...Father accepts him back. When Zuko returns home, it's with respect to his name and a very high position in his father's company. He's finally the perfect Kasai heir, dressed in overly expensive suits and finery, even at home... But Father forbids him from wearing Lu Ten's earring, and Zuko can no longer recognize himself without the familiar glint of gold dancing on his peripheral vision.
When Zuko leaves the Kasai name behind him and goes back to living with Uncle Iroh...he's finally at peace with who he is, and what he wants in this life. The sharp edges aren't gone (they'll always be a part of him, after all), but now they're dulled by looser clothes and softer hairstyles.
He's an artist, and for once in his life, he is determined to pursue his own ambitions. Zuko's outfits may not be designer-made anymore, but he takes what he has and makes himself look like he wants to look, like the person he wants to be.
He doesn't read fashion magazines or keeps up to the latest trends like Azula does. He's just...Zuko. And his newfound confidence makes everything he wears look like it belongs on him.
As for music...well, Ursa raised a literature boy.
He loves lyric-heavy music and natural voices, be they soothing or powerful. Dissecting song meanings and possible interpretations with Katara is one of his favorite parts of the day. They're both very passionate and strong-minded individuals, so it stands to reason that their debates can get quite...heated.
Zuko's Playlist is both incredibly eclectic and somehow very...him. There's a common thread that binds together every song and artist he likes, and he's hilariously unaware of this. To take a look into his Playlist is a higher honor reserved only for those closest to him.
In the wide spectrum of things, it is no wonder that Zuko is, first and foremost, a Hozier man. But though Andrew is his God in all aspects of this life, there's someone else that has had a huge impact on him...
Two someones, actually.
Zuko refuses to tell anyone how he got into Twenty One Pilots, but it's kind of a moot point when the beginning of his obsession is nothing compared to everything that came after. They have just about the right amount of everything that makes Zuko...well, Zuko. The poetic lyrics, the soothing or raging music, the heavy, intensely resonant themes...
Up there, in the second artwork, I placed an album cover behind each period of Zuko's life. The election of these records is intentional, as I feel like their general themes work incredibly well with Zuko's arc and growth.
Blurryface in S1. For the demons within us. For giving a name to our fears and shame.
Trench in S2. For escaping the confined walls of a depression city, and fighting to understand the depths of the map of your mind.
Scaled and Icy in the first half of S3. For returning to places you had left behind. For convincing yourself and everyone around you that you're fine, that you're perfect, even though everything is crumbling inside...
Clancy in S3. For recognizing that you can backslide, that you can have fears and shame and pain—but you're shaping yourself with each step you take. For knowing that seeking help from others is okay. Nobody learns to walk on their own.
(And, in the end, you'll always be better than the person you were yesterday. If only because you're still here. You're still alive. You're still yourself.)
.
Overall, I rambled a bit too much, don't you think?
If you made it all the way down here—thank you so much for reaching out and being interested in this crazy AU! I hope you enjoy these ideas and tell me some of your own ❤️

During the pandemic the songwriter and producer James Vincent McMorrow would rise early, go for a run and write songs for Louis Tomlinson, of One Direction.
“I actually made half of a record for him,” he says. Tomlinson’s team “had a lot of songs but maybe not a lot that he was as into as he wanted to be. I think they were maybe looking for a weirdo. So they reached out to me. I love him. He’s a fascinating human being. I absolutely loved making that album,” adds McMorrow, who is about to start a tour of Ireland.
When it comes to potential collaborators with a boy band megastar, McMorrow’s name is not the first that springs to mind. He’s an indie songwriter whose open-veined, falsetto-driven pop has been compared to that of folkies such as Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens. But Tomlinson was a fan of the Dubliner’s beautifully wrought music. He wasn’t alone: Drake famously sampled McMorrow on his 2016 track Hype.
One of the tracks they wrote together, The Greatest, would serve as the opener to Tomlinson’s second LP, Faith in the Future. As is often the way with the music industry, the rest are in a vault somewhere. Still, for McMorrow the opportunity to work with a pop star was about more than simply putting his craft in front of a wider audience. The call from Tomlinson’s team had come at a low point for the Irishman, who had become mired in confusion and doubt after signing to a major label for the first time in his career.
Executives at Columbia Records had recognised potential in McMorrow as an artist who bridged the divide between folk and pop. The fruits of that get-together would see daylight in September 2021 as the excellent Grapefruit Season LP, on which McMorrow teamed up with Paul Epworth, who has also produced Adele and Florence Welch.
The album was a beautifully gauzy rumination on the birth of his daughter and the muggy roller coaster of first-time parenthood. It went top 10 in Ireland and breached the top 100 in the UK. Yet the experience of working within the major-label system was strange for McMorrow, who at that point had been performing and recording for more than a decade. He didn’t hate it. But he knew he didn’t ever want to do it again.
“It was a weird time. I stopped touring in 2017. My daughter was born in 2018. I signed with Columbia Records at the same time and made a record that ... There were moments within it I was proud of. But fundamentally, I think if I was being very honest, I would say that I definitely got lost in the weeds of what the music industry wanted for me rather than what I wanted for myself.”
[…]
McMorrow grew up in Malahide, the well-to-do town in north Co Dublin; as a secondary-school student he suffered debilitating shyness. In 2021 he revealed that he had struggled with an eating disorder at school, ending up in hospital (“Anorexia that progressed into bulimia”). He was naturally retiring, not the sort to crave the spotlight. But he was drawn to music. “It was definitely a difficult journey,” he says. He wasn’t alone in that. “The musicians that tend to cut through and make it ... A lot of my friends, musicians that are successful, they’re not desperate for the stage.”
The Tomlinson collaboration was part of his strange relationship with the mainstream music industry. It went back to McMorrow’s third LP, Rising Water, from 2016. A move away from his earlier folk-pop, the project had featured engineering from Ben Ash, aka Two Inch Punch, a producer who had worked with chart artists such as Jessie Ware, Sia and Wiz Khalifa.
That was followed by the Drake sample in 2016 and by McMorrow writing the song Gone, which was at one point set to be recorded by a huge pop star whom he’d rather not identify.
“Gone is the red herring of red herrings in my entire career. I wrote that song for other people. I didn’t write it for myself. The whole reason I signed to Columbia Records and I had all these deals was because of Gone. I was very happy tipping away in my weird little world. And then I wrote that song, and a lot of bigger artists came in to try to take it,” he says.
“I won’t name names. There were recordings of it done. It got very close to being a single for someone else. I would go in these meetings with all these labels, and I would play it for them – just to play. Not with any sense of ‘This is my song.’ And they were, like, ‘You’re out of your mind if you don’t take this song. This is the song that will make you the thing that is the thing.’ And I was, like, ‘You’re wrong.’ For a year I basically was, like, ‘I disagree.’ And if you go in a room with enough people enough times and they tell you that you’re crazy ... I loved the song, but I did not love it for me. I never felt I fit. There was a little part of me that wanted to believe.”
As he had predicted, Gone wasn’t a hit. He received a lot of other strange advice, including that he cash in on the mercifully short-lived craze for NFTs by putting out an LP as a watermarked internet file. All of that was swirling in his brain when Tomlinson got in touch. To be able to step outside his own career was exactly what McMorrow needed.
“With Louis it was like boot camp. I had a very limited time with him. I had to wake up every morning, go for a run, write a song in my head, go to the studio. We made songs all day long. It lit a fire in my head again. I loved the process. I like sitting and talking to someone like Louis, who’s had this unbelievably fascinating lifestyle – so much tragedy in his life,” he says. Tomlinson’s mother and sister died within three years of each other, and his 1D bandmate Liam Payne died in October. “So many things have happened to him. I chatted to him and then write constantly. That was a lovely process.”
Because life is strange and full of contrasts McMorrow ended up working with Tomlinson around the same time that he was producing the Dublin postpunk “folk-metal” band The Scratch, on their LP Mind Yourself. “Totally different animals,” he says. “The Scratch album was an intense period in the studio of that real old-school nature of making music. A lot of fights. A lot of pushing back against ideas. A lot of different opinions. And you have to respect everybody’s opinions and find the route through.”
During his brief time on a major label, McMorrow was reminded of the music industry’s weakness for short-term thinking. In 2019, the business was obsessed with streaming numbers and hot-wiring the Spotify algorithm so that your music posted the highest possible number of plays.
“Everyone was driven by stats. ‘This song has 200 million streams.’ ‘That song has 400 million streams.’ I went into my meetings with Columbia Records ... the day I had my first big marketing meeting was the day my catalogue passed a billion streams, which, for someone like me, who started where I started, was a day where I should be popping champagne corks. Instead they immediately started talking about how they have artists that have one song that has two billion streams. So by their rule of thumb I was half as successful as one song by one artist on their label.”
Five years later he believes things have changed. He points to Lankum, a group who will never set Spotify alight yet who have carved a career by doing their own thing and not chasing the short-term goal of a place on the playlist. They are an example to other musicians, McMorrow says.
“I was in Brooklyn, doing two nights, a week and a half ago. In the venue across the road from where we were, pretty much, Lankum were doing two nights and had [the Dublin folk artist] John Francis Flynn opening for them. Those are two artists that, if you were to look at their stats, you wouldn’t be, like, ‘These are world-beating musicians.’ You start aggregating to this stat-based norm and you miss bands like Lankum, bands like The Mary Wallopers, people like John Francis Flynn.”
McMorrow is looking forward to his forthcoming Irish tour, which he sees as another leg of his journey to be his best possible self.
“The last two, three years have been a process of building it back to a version of me that actually made me happy rather than making me cry at night-time – a version that was making music because I liked it. Within this industry there’s so much outside noise. It’s quite overwhelming. I was overwhelmed. It’s been nice to reset the clock.”
In November 2022, McMorrow posted this now deleted Instagram post:

Text: late 2021 I got a phone call asking me if I wanted to come to London to meet @louist91 and possibly write some songs. A few years ago he released a statement talking about changing his path musically, instead of the immediate search for hits, he’d start with music he genuinely loved and see where it got him. Seems like a simple and obvious thing to say, but considering the amount of people just chasing hits with little regard for vision or artistry, a statement like that struck me when I read it. So I was excited to meet him and see what he was about. First day we met we all wrote Common People, second day we wrote Lucky Again. In December of last year we went back in again, finished those ones, wrote and produced 3 others that are also on this album. It was the studio line-up of dreams, @mrfredball @jmoon1066, @riley_mac. Shouts to Louis for letting us do our thing, letting a dork like me come write some weird lyrics and weird melodies, trust us to shape the vision that he had. These last few years were dark at times, but it was moments like that where I remembered why I’m obsessed w music and why it’s all I’ve ever understood. incredibly proud of the work, Holding on to Heartache is genuinely one of my most favourite songs I’ve ever been a part of.
Also I was reading something about the album and it mentioned something about the gospel choir on the bridge of that song… nah man thats’s just 200 stacked of me singing super super high in the studio out back of Fred’s house😂]

the 2025 met gala exhibition will be on "the carrier bag theory of fiction", to discuss the intersections of humanity, handbags, and history. Quanah Runninghorse will be invited to give one of the opening speeches at the gala; she will be dressed in a beautiful sculptural gown of jet black beads shaped as a gigantic anaconda which is constricting her body from neck to ankle; she holds its articulating jaws open at her side, where strings of crimson swarovski crystals glisten and dangle from its maw as she strangles it back. her talk on the history of indigenous people in the fashion politics of Paris will be mysteriously borderline inaudible in nearly all recordings due to her microphone being turned off 17 seconds into the speech. she is applauded politely off the stage. other noteworthy celebrities are Kim Kardashian wearing an insensitive bespoke headdress and carrying a clutch made of two halves of a pearl oyster which when asked she will claim is abalone. lady gaga wears a dress entirely made of upcycled Goop tote bags designed by McQueen. florence welch will make headlines for her Mexican catechism dress soaked and crusted in river water and a long train covered in mud, a vision of hypocritical ideas of Christian grace and acceptance and God's love contrasting with conservative ideas of Illegal Aliens. To be more specific the headlines she makes when Vogue covers this she will be accused of not doing her homework or following the theme. Drake will attend in a black tailored suit with a white shirt and black bowtie, and Megan Thee Stallion and Kendrick Lamar will steal the show by shooting him to extremely painful death with the handguns designed for Romeo + Juliet (1996). Apollo, dressed as Meryl Streep reprising her role in The Devil Wears Prada, will purse his lips disapprovingly until Anna Wintour reveals that dinner will be a hundred pure white heifers slaughtered in her name to appease him. 25 years from now this sacrifice will be studied as the reason why the pandemic finally actually ended, despite the fact that that year's met gala theme will be about how all of us who are still alive have Long COVID.

SWIFTIE SLEEPOVER SATURDAY
DAY 12, April 26th, 2025
Welcome, welcome to the twelfth weekend of Swiftie Sleepover Saturday!
Hello all! My name is Jen, and I've been a Swiftie since 2008. I wanted to organize a fun, weekly sleepover event where we can have fun discussions, analyze lyrics, post beautiful edits, take polls, and connect with each other in so many other ways through our love of Taylor and her works of art! Each week will have a new theme or discussion prompt, please post all contributions with:
#Swiftie Sleepover Saturday
We all know all too well (hehe) that Taylor is an incredible artist standing on her own, from her gorgeous lyrics to the instrumentals she creates and weaves with her words to tell a story. However, sometimes we find ourselves at our absolute best when someone is standing there with us, each person finding a beautiful way to bring out the best in the other. Taylor's collaborations are their own individual works of art and they are very special. From her soft, soothing vocals with Ed Sheeran in Run to the beating drums and pounding heart that comes with Florida!!! and Florence Welch, Taylor has always found a way to truly shine and help others shine with her collabs. This week, we are celebrating these collaborations, any and all of them!
Discussion Prompts (Optional!):
Tell me your top 5 Taylor collabs! What makes them stand out?
Is there an artist that Taylor hasn't worked with yet that you'd like to see her work with?
What are some of your favorite lyrics from Taylor's collabs?
Does Taylor have a solo song that you think would work as a collaboration? What song, and with what artist?
You can feel free to make edits, gifs, playlists related to the prompt, polls about Taylor's collabs, poetry/fanfiction, or make your own post with the discussion prompts! Whatever works best for you! Anything is welcome as long as it is kind and you show respect for others and their opinions. This event goes until the next Swiftie Sleepover Saturday next weekend! Please reblog to spread the fun!

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐃'𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐗 ( rockin'roll ! )

"and if you don't love me now, you won't ever love me again."

★ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐃'𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐗 / the 70's rock band that took teyvat by storm
ISSUE 01. Everyone knows who The Sunbird's Six were. Their songs revited through the nations: tender and ethereal with each poignant verse. Yet, the group of six showed they could sing verses of ardour while thirsting with unrequited rage that tore souls apart in one sitting. Their debut and only album ‘Vermilion’ was hypnotic and utterly divine. It was a mosaic of winsome pieces that were put together to make one gut-wrenching album that you ultimately ugly cry to.
SO WHO WAS THE SUNBIRD'S SIX? Comprised of four founding members from Mondstadt, one from Snezhnaya, and the other from Fontaine, we get a cast of Teyvat's most talented musicians. Specifically, Diluc Ragnvindr as lead guitarist, songwriter and vocalist and ( Name ) St. Laurent as lead vocalist and songwriter. The duo bewitched the throng and perhaps themselves with both their flaming allure and vocals. Youth of the 70's wanted to become ( Name ) with all her charm and freedom while some fans died to get a strand of Diluc's hair alone. The other members include Jean Gunnhildr on keys, Rosaria on drums, Kaeya Alberich as bass guitarist, and 'Childe' as rhythm guitarist.
ISSUE 02. Yet, as The Sunbirds Six became a renowned household and rock name, their disbandment remains unknown- until now.

★ 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐃𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐗
Kaeya Alberich ( bass guitarist ) : Ha! We were good... too good.
Rosaria ( drummer ) : Back then- things were simpler. You wanted to play? Grab an instrument and fucking play. That was our original motto... until things started getting messy. And by messy I mean Diluc and Childe. Maybe even ( Name ) too. *Sighs* Actually, all of us. But, you can't write an album like 'Vermilion' without going through all that shit.
Jean Gunnhildr ( pianist ) : When the four of us first came together, we were decent. We all loved playing- some more than others- but we were okay! *Smiles slightly* But, if you're going to go beyond the walls of the Ravginder basement- we needed more.
Childe ( rhythm guitarist ) : Do I sit here? *Laughs* Oh okay. When I was invited to join the band- I said, "Okay, my partner will join too." and of course, there was zero objection cause you don't find a musician like ( Name ) anywhere... a small part of me selfishly wishes that she [ ( Name ) ] said no when I asked. *Laughs* But who am I kidding? I'd go through all that again and again... even if it meant dealing with Diluc-
Diluc Ragnvindr ( lead guitarist ) We only needed another vocalist, a female one. So, we found one.
Kaeya : I was the one who told him we needed a female vocalist and I found her and Childe.
Rosaria : Rockin' roll is not serious till you really add whatever emotions ( Name ) had in the mix- and that's exactly what she did.
( Name ) St. Laurent : *Smiles sweetly* It was ugly, so ugly. However, bygones be bygones. It was only rockin' roll.
Diluc : It was not just rockin' roll.

★ ARTISTS AND OTHERS. Diluc Ragnvindr, 'Childe' or Ajax, Jean Gunnhildr, Rosaria, Kaeya Alberich, Zhongli, Lisa, Neuvillette, Albedo Kreideprinz, Xinyan, Pantalone, Rosalyne Lohefalter and more.
UPDATES AND POSTSCRIPT. Updates at least once a week (subjective to change). Female pronouns and vocal references.
SIDE COMMENTS. I love rock so let’s combine both. (If you genuinely understand the song reference in the beginning you are my friend now). Inspired by Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Florence Welch, the ambient sounds of the 90’s (Mazzy star and Mojave 3), Daisy Jones & the Six and of course the 70’s. Warnings will be in each chapter.
WHAT DO THEY SOUND LIKE? Here is a playlist of the previous artists and more to give you a feel!

I Saw recently a post of my dear mutual @porkchop200324 about the Stevie Lindsay issue confusion...and while I dont know much about that, I feel like everyone ever always gets Daisy = Stevie wrong, Daisy isn't abusive (ever), she's just very mean and just a problematic yunkie mess, later on she got better.
The only thing people compare always is the Silver Springs video that Taylor Jenkins Reid said inspired her to make an almost literal Fleetwood Mac fanfic of sorts that she mixed with many real stories about plenty bands, and got her story (Good for her and for us too!!!)
To me, she turned Daisy into...Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine) but pre rehab.
Heart me out, i'm not (that) crazy!!!
Daisy Jones Its more similar to what I know /Heard about real life story of Florence Welch :
Rich girl with mental issues ✓
Abusive posh ex boyfriend ✓
Band member with a girlfriend (not wife but...) that (rumored aka totally but non officially confirmed) got an affair with ✓
A man with whom she had AN on and off affair since she was 18 or even younger? ... For 20 years! (That IS rumored to have inspired directly What kind of Man song!!!) ✓
June song feels about something Daisy would write for Billy after Chicago's shitshow, and Its close to Florence story with another man she left on Chicago (to get clean).
Redhead with clear Big pretty eyes ✓
Mesmerizing to watch...
And... after the show It became more painfully obvious, Riley Keough looked like the Hollywood biopic version of Florence aka similar but prettier actor/actress than the real person they play tbh....
Florence / Margaret (in the show ) have the same number of letters too. TJR pretended not to merge Florence in Fleetwood Mac and named her Daisy, to be less obvious, but like, even in the show they noticed It and named her Margaret XD.
Thats my two cents about It. Sorry for the long rant XD.

i see so many posts on social media about how taylor swift or florence welch must be d20 fans bc of their respective "Cassandra" songs and i don't know if people are kidding or not but if not, just so you know, the name comes from greek mythology ! look it up it's an interesting story and ally added depth to in-game cassandra by naming her that way

Bc you keep mentioning it adjacent to Cr, whats Wicdiv?
i suppose i should explain it because i keep mentioning it lol. the wicked + the divine is a comic series written in the 2010s by kieron gillan & jamie mckelvie. it follows a girl named laura who is a fangirl of the pantheon, reincarnated dieties of gods as part of an ancient cycle. the gods get all the fame & fortune they want with the caveat they die in 2 years, and in this generation theyve decided to present as music stars (with very obvious real life allusions - baal is modeled after kanye west, morrigan after florence welch, etc). laura gets entangled directly with her idols after one of the gods is accused of murder and laura is absolutely sure shes innocent. and it gets. so much more insane from there.
i reference it with cr a lot because the entire cast has stated theyre fans of it (namely marisha always wears a shirt for it, and tals review is on the back of one of the volumes), and you can taste its themes in cr once you've finished it. it's constantly asking what really makes an idol worthy of being idolized, the difference between a god vs a mortal especially in the age of peak parasociality, and if what humanity does can be so beautiful it can function as divine creation. and it's no wonder to me any creator would connect to that. theres little connections as small as mollymauks whole Deal ending up being the wicdiv mantra "you will be loved, you will be hated. in two years, you will be dead", and as big as the finale of the comic series (no spoilers). i believe it is also the inspiration for works close to cr such as stray gods (stray gods & wicdiv are debateably even MORE alike)
aside from connecting the two, i think wicdiv is really good, and in my top comic recommandations for others. it is deeply 2014 culturally but what it discusses still holds up today more than ever. if you do want to read it i suppose i should give you a heads up it has basically every trigger i assume a contemporary hbo drama would - it literally opens with an orgy of sorts, it discusses domestic violence & abortion, there is of course brutal violence because they have divine power, etc. if you can handle those i recommend it.

Nobody be rude in the comments about being a bigger or more knowledgeable fan than anyone else, please! I've followed the group since the Lungs days, and feel like the origin story of the name used to be very often repeated by others who did. I haven't seen it as much as time has gone on, so I'm curious how well known it is now.

Glee cast sings Joanne by Lady Gaga

Diamond Heart sung by Rachel Berry in season 4
-this song would happen in the time where she started working on that restaurant, the song refers to a hardworking person who may have flaws and may be wrong sometimes but despise all, she stills has a diamond heart, the reason I chose Rachel and not someone else is because the diamond heart refers to Gaga’s arrangement ring, which was a diamond in the shape of a heart, and by this time Rachel was the only one dealing with a premature wedding
A-YO sung by Brittany Pierce in season 4
-this song is all about haters and being sexy and confident in yourself, I guess she could’ve sung this around the time she had her breakdown or somewhere similar, I also think her voice would fit quite well, and the song is very energetic so it could definitely bring some choreo
Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin'?) sung by Finn Hudson
-okay so a little background on this entire album, Joanne is Gaga’s middle name but also her aunt’s name, an aunt that died before she was born, but her death left a hole in her family and she missed her aunt as well despite not knowing her at all, this is Finn’s relationship with his dad, he never met him but he missed him, it’s a part of him that is missing and not even Burt or Will can fully complete it, it’s a part of him that will never be found again, but maybe this could for Finn could mean a goodbye and an I love you, also I cried writing this because I love this song so much
John Wayne sung by Santana Lopez
-while the songs intent doesn’t fit any character on the show, I think we can use some analogy, John Wayne refers to this stunning cowboy guy who’s from the country side and isn’t awful like the city boys, what if the city boys just refer to men in general while John Wayne is an analogy to women, or Brittany in particular, her true love
Dancin’ in Circles sung by April Rhodes
-I actually decided to edit this one, it makes more sense to be an April song, plus her voice would really fit the country more, no Quick duet for you fans here, sorry bout that, by the way in case you’re first seeing this after the edit, the song is about female masturbation, April Rhodes right?
Perfect Illusion sung by Mercedes Jones in “Asian F”
-she would sing this after being kicked out of the glee club, singing about how despite being friends for years their friendship was nothing more than a perfect illusion, girl would let all her rage come out with this song, this could’ve been vocally one of Mercedes best songs if I’m being honest
Million Reasons sung by Finn and Rachel
-this would take place between season 3 and 4, Rachel would be feeling insecure about not having Finn in her life, while Finn would be dying inside, wanting to go back to her but knowing it’s for the best if he’s away, they would both sing this together about how they have million reasons to stay distant for the better of each other but only one good reason would be enough for them to get back together
Sinner’s Prayer sung by Quinn Fabray
-this song is an apology from Quinn to any men she loved, saying how she don’t want to break anyone’s heart but ended up doing it, sinning every time it happens again, I also chose her for the religious theme of the song, having faith, sin, forgiveness and some other topics
Come to Mama sung by Mercedes and Unique
-these two deserved a song together, what better song to sing them this one? Y’know, the song about loving a person so strongly that it overcomes the hard parts and eventually build a future, they would be singing this to their token dyslexic white boys, and as puppies they would be barking for their girls
Hey Girl feat. Florence Welch sung by Rachel and Santana
-yeah, this song should be sung by women, it’s all about girlhood and being emphatic towards women and it’s definitely a song pezberry should sing during their New York period of living, it’s all about supporting each other, just like how Santana was there for the pregnancy scare (Sam and Ryder will have to tribute their ladies with another song)
Angel Down sung by Artie, Blaine, Mercedes, Rachel and Sam in “Bash”
-this song was inspired by the murder of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old black kid who was shot by his neighbor, unfortunately his murderer was found not guilty. After knowing the context I got back to Bash, the episode where Kurt was attacked by homophobes, this song would be sung mainly by Blaine and Sam, on how their angel was shot down, I’m not exactly sure if in the episode the guys who attacked Kurt were arrested or something, I like to think yes, it’s best to be positive in an ocean of negativity, also this song has a work tape version which is essentially the same song with more raw vocals and less electronic sounds, maybe they could’ve sung this version. Rest in peace Trayvon Martin
Grigio Girls sung by Mercedes, Quinn, Rachel, Santana and Tina with Brittany, Lauren and Sugar
-this song talks about Gaga’s childhood friend who had cancer, and when she wasn’t around Gaga and her other girlfriends would cry together, this song would be just a sweet song of the girls standing out for each other (in the universe where Lauren stayed after season 2) Mercedes, Quinn, Rachel, Santana and Tina would all have at least a solo verse while the other three would be doing back-up vocals, if I’m being honest, this would be better than I Kissed a Girl. Rest in peace Sonja Durham
Just Another Day sung by Rachel Berry
-this song is very straight forward, it would be about Rachel singing about her love for New York, even if the city is a mess and very loud and irritating, she’s happy, she’s very happy in her favorite town, everyday is just another happy day for Ms Berry in NYC
Angel Down - Work Tape sung by Blaine Anderson in “Bash”
-okay so, this album has alternate versions for Angel Down and Million Reasons, they’re sung acoustic and have a different range but the lyrics are the same, because of that I’m keeping (some) of the original singers. The work tape of this song would be sung by Blaine alone in the episode, and the normal would be sung by everyone but only in the studio version, aka by buying the EP
Million Reasons - Work Tape sung by Finn Hudson in “Sweet Dreams”
-I think this version should be sung at the end of season 4, Rachel has (slightly) move on from Finn, she dated someone, is at NYADA and will audition for her dream role. While Finn still hasn’t moved on, he’s at university but still thinks about Rachel, as help, Puck would play his guitar for Finn to put his feelings out
That’s it, really short album this time, next one is a soundtrack, A Star is Born, I’m very excited, probably will come out soon since my classes ended officially today :)
