veyle has my favorite design in engage by such a long shot that i almost have to wonder if someone else did the character design for her. or if mika was possessed
#i like mika pikazo's artstyle#but she has a tendency to overdesign things in general#okay there are SOME other competitors#rosado diamant and ivy all look fairly excellent#but veyle manages to have four different colors in her design and utilize them all excellently#without going overboard#and her little feather headpiece is just the cherry on top#at the same time her design is very in keeping with engage's philosophy in general#with the fluffy/bold/sleek trio of design elements that almost everyone has#she just executes them so much better#i don't dislike alear's design (okay maybe i dislike m!alear a little. dumbass shorts)#but i mean just look at her for 5 seconds

oliver's silly little round up of favorite and fun met gala looks bc sometimes ya just need to oooh and aaah at pretty dresses
favorite look of the night: zendaya's second look duh (black dress); the headpiece is wonderful and the bodice, shape of the dress, and different fabrics really made the black dress more special. like the makeup more here, the softer look really helped
da'vine joy - the long red hair? the denim? the contrasting blue shades? literally reminds me of fantasy heroine's dress in the big ball before they run into the forest (if you like her look, def go follow notyourmommashistory on insta!)
phoebe dynevor - loved the draping and the color and the different textures; literally looks like the 'veiled fabric' you see in old marble statues. pink undergarments is a fun change to the usual skin tone garments these naked dresses go with
alia bhatt - amazing bead work, dreamy and soft and so fun! honestly impressed that busy fabric can be sooo delicate and wispy.
gwendoline christie - the hair? the velvet? the cape? wonderfully styled; need her as fashionable villain
pamela anderson - a+ silhouette, love the chain and the feather hair. one of the few neutral colored dresses that didn't fall into the 'sad beige aesthetic' lmao
zendaya's first look - love the stripes and the grapes and the dragonflies/birds (i can't tell), minus a few points cause of the eyebrows. either needed darker brows or less artsy makeup i think
quannah chasinghorse - literally cinderella (and dare i say, better done than zendaya's past met gala look?), love that it looks like a flower, and the beadwork belt and earrings compliment the dress so well
taylor russel - kinda literal with the tree bark, but the molded top is so well done and the skirt draping is very statuesque
harris reed - literally looks like a renaissance painting? no notes, only admiration
imaan hammam - loved the simpler skirt so the studded top and big earrings could shine. gold wrist cuff bracelets were the cherry on top for a perfectly balanced look.
tyla - the sand is a little literal but super cool and love the sand on her arms
penelope cruz - vintage, lacy drama. i want to see this look in a movie (with maybe a different fabric than the white at the bustline)
venus williams - i didn't super love this look at first, but it's def grown on me. very memorizing and the hair accessories help tie everything together.
colman domingo - he knows how to rock a voluminous pant. the cream suit jacket with the cape is fun and could def hold on it's own without the pants.
wisdom kaye - love the color and the drama of the coat, the burned holes is fun and funky; don't super love the hat tho (it's giving boy george)
bad bunny - chef's kiss at the fun texture of the suit, the hat, and the red striping
honorary mentions - anok yai (loved the sparkles and colors and big ring, hated the jumpsuit and weird waistband), lewis hamilton (the flowers were great but a little boring in all black, bonus points for the metal vine tho), gigi hadid (love the bright white and black piping and obvious bustle inspo, but there's no way she could breathe in it), josh o'connor (for the suit tails only)
misc: brie larson's dress looks like the mosquito keeper-outer food cover thing lmao; michelle yeoh deserved better than crumpled up tinfoil
#ooc#met gala#one day i'll remember my personal account info#today is not the day lmao#anyway i just needed to get this out of my system ghfjdks#pls come share your favorites

The Caster Chronicles character design ranking (Luna)
(source)
Other rankings:
Ignus - Terra - Aes - Silva
Koyori Ohnuma Ruka Eremi
This doesn’t move me in one way or the other. Frills everywhere is nice and there are no elements I hate, but there’s not much else to this. The feathers on her waist would be a good detail if they were tied better to the rest of the outfit but now they feel pretty random. 5/10.
Mei Takayanagi Rafina Soa
At first I thought “boring”, but a closer inspection reveals that there is something of value here. The flower lace on her skirt and socks is pretty and looks good in the two colour design, the dress straps have an unique design and the tiny flowers add a little bit of colour without being unnecessarily distracting. Not a fan of the metal things on her back, I just keep thinking how hard and unpleasant they would be to move in, but at least they match the hairpieces. 7/10.
Runa Tsukinaga Glow Desire
I tend not to be a fan of looks that hide an eye (or both), but at least the headpiece works well with the asymmetry of the waist cloth thing and the single stocking. But there’s no getting around how bulky the headpiece and the pearls are and that just doesn’t look good for me. But at least the outfit sticks to some basic themes (silver and yellow see through fabric) and the jewels are the extra detail that prevents it from being boring. Not sure if I like the weapon though; it’s a nice idea for a broom, but it too comes across as stiff and heavy and it has too many colours. 7/10.
Suzu Tachibana Grace
A pretty basic design but I really like it. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that I like the art style and the vibrant colours? Her hair looks so bouncy and silky too, and the jewelry keeps the design from being boring (especially the beads around her legs). The dots on her shoes are pretty weird though. 7/10.
Yuzuki Otonashi Ayutaila
My favourite of all the Caster Chronicles designs. There are so many elements I like (excessive ribbons and frill! The way the edges are cut! The asymmetry! Vertical stripes!) There’s three layers of frill on her sleeves, and more on her hat, and some on her top too! The colourscheme is simple and appealing, and thanks to that the fact that there are like 5 different styles and patterns in the ribbon on her waist still works. The weapon looks both graceful and powerful. Add in the witch hat which makes the look more magical so it’s not just an anime princess, and the elegant hanging beads are the cherry on top of an already great design. I just wish the background wasn’t such a bright yellow; I think she would look so much better against a dark night sky. 10/10.
Momoka Mochizuki Twinkle Charm
Do you want to be dressed or not? It’s like she drags this huge amount of cloth around her but it doesn’t really cover anything, that’s just weird for me. And let’s just not even get started with the... swimsuit thing (though at least it fits the butterfly theme?) And the head piece is kinda dumb, it’s like she has a pancake on her head. Nice hairpins though, and the detached sleeves and top are cute (notice the hoodie). Her weapon is also funny, it makes me think that she’s like the sandman who puts people to sleep by violently pounding them with the hammer, which releases the contents of the purple bottle. Overall I would be more forgiving of the bikini top, but the non-skirt just looks stupid to me. 4/10.
Seira Mizuki Luna Esperansa
This doesn’t do much for me, the dress is just too boring and it doesn’t have any memorable details. If it was red this would be a pretty basic Little Red Riding Hood outfit. The rabbit ears also feel random and tacked on, like I know the Japanese have their moon rabbit legends but aside from the weapon the look doesn’t really come across as moon themed for to me. The weapon looks unbalanced and the head is far too big for the length of the staff, but at least the hanging stars and the night sky inside are cute. 3/10.
Sakuya Kirishima Broom Schlein
This one just doesn’t do much for me. I can’t say the design is boring, like the sleeves that look puffy and stuffed with frills are certainly unique, the staff is nice and the whole look gives me an aquatic vibe with the fish fin esque cloth and the sash that looks like it’s made of water. But in the end while there’s nothing I really dislike about this, there’s not really anything that stands out either. And why does she have a tail? 5/10.
An Minamizawa Merril Laisse
Looks like a patissiere. I like the hairstyle, the line of pearls on her gloves and the checkered pattern, but apart from them there’s really not much going on here. Like sure I like the frills but the clothes just aren’t cut in a memorable and interesting way and there aren’t enough additional details either. The weapon is also kinda weird. 4/10.
Kana Izuhara Lumielle
Vertical stripes is always a good idea and the lace on her stockings is cute. But especially compared to the other Caster Chronicles girls this one feels kind of boring to me, like this could be the princess character in your average fantasy harem. Or maybe it’s just that I don’t care for the art style? 3/10.

Chapter One - Lilium
Long ago in the times of old, in a far away world apart from the one we know today, there lived a fair princess in a rich kingdom. Though this princess had everything a young woman could desire, she was quite lonely and found she had no satisfaction from her suitors. The princess, named Lilium, was skilled in sword and hostess, with book, bell and candle, a lady of many trades at her leisure. Lilium was unselfish and kind to her father’s kindgom, and was gladly trained by all members of the village in their way of life, with the small payment of her kindness and friendship, since she was a young lass. Lilium could forge her own weapons and armor, sew her own dresses, hunt her own kills, host her own parties, cook her own food and much more. She insisted upon independence since she could walk. Advisors of the king protested the ways of this strange girl, but her parents ignored. They were proud of their Lilium.
Now nearing her 21st birthday, her parents began to insist upon her that she find a suitable man to marry.
Lilium and her mother, Queen Serenia sat in the library, a quiet place for practicing tapestry. The two had been working on this tapestry for a few years now, as it was quite large. It was to be hung in their great dining hall, above the mantle of the fireplace.
“My dearest Lilium,” remarked Queen Serenia, “Your Confirmation Festival is approaching, and you still haven’t made time to converse with any of your father’s kingdom’s brave and strong young men.” In this world, when a young man or woman reaches their 21st birthday, the three days leading up to it become a grand party for all the nobles and members of the castle, and also anyone the celebrated man or woman saw fit to invite.
“Mother,” replied Lilium, “Why must the law be so strict? You’ve bent the rules so much for me, what’s one more? There’s nobody I can really… talk to.” She hesitated. Young Lilium had been hiding a secret from her mother since she was 16. Her virginity had been given to the tavern owner’s son, Gabriel. Lilium and Gabriel frolicked in secret for a few months, but Lilium felt something was missing and decided Gabriel was not the man for her, much to Gabriel’s embarrassment. Next was a young soldier in her father’s army when she was 17, a strap of 24 named Eric. Although Eric was dashing, bold, brave, there was a part of him Lilium considered to be a, well, shortcoming…
Lilium knew what she wanted. She decided on her 18th birthday, if she were to find a mate, he had to have a phallus that could satisfy her hungry womanhood. Masturbation had satisfied her needs for a few years, but Lilium was now tired of herself, and the toys she’d forged of silver. There always seemed to be something missing!
“My daughter, you must learn to be a little accepting of your position in life at some point. I know you’re a gracious woman. You have the capacity to take care of your responsibility, and thought it may seem unfair, this is one of them, child.” Queen Serenia continued.
“Yes, mother.” Lilium replied gently. Her majesty kissed her daughter’s forehead and caressed her soft cheek.
The afternoon bell from the village was then heard, ringing loud and clear to announce the high noon hour. Lilium and her mother rose from their positions, neatly folding away the tapestry and tucking it away into a shelf. At noon, the Royal family met for tea on the tower balcony, if the weather permitted. Lilium could hear the gentle clinking of the tea set on the silver tray coming down the hallway. The servant who brought the tea, sandwiches and cakes was Meriam, an older woman who’d been loyally serving the family since before Lilium was born. Lilium, naturally adored her, as Meriam paid attention to what the little princess liked most for teatime; miniature cherry tarts with powdered sugar on top, and buttered cucumber sandwiches, no crusts. Lilium smiled to herself, fondly retracing those bittersweet memories of her childhood.
Her father, King Gregoth, was already seated on the tower balcony when Lilium and her majesty had reached the top of the stairs. He was dressed casually in a fine tunic and kilt, bearing silver-tipped fastenings, a gift from his daughter.
“My fine women, arrived at last!” He warmly greeted them, standing with outstretched hands to join with his beloved wife. Gregoth guided her to her chair, just opposite him, as Lilium took her place on the side. Meriam arrived with the tea, cakes and sandwiches all set up on the large silver plate. Meriam never spilled or dropped anything once. Gregoth thanked her softly and sent her back to her regular duties. Lilium quietly poured the tea into her father and mother’s cups, filling hers last. She couldn’t stop thinking about what to do about her precious and delicate predicament.
Gregoth and Serenia carried on about the upcoming festival while Lilium quietly sipped her creamy, honeyed Darjeeling. Her parents knew nothing of the secrets she hid within her mind… And her bedroom. Lilium felt herself get excited beneath her satin lace-up dress, and made plans to visit her spot in the woods.
This “spot” was a small, mossy clearing deep in the forest, next to a gentle waterfall covered in ivy and vine roses. How beautiful they were this time of the summer! The lush, dark crimson of the flowers and the emerald, white-lined ivy leaves enchanted her, especially when the newborn spiders would hatch and weave their little silken webs all over, the water from the falls creating dew drops on them. The drops would shine like diamonds and precious gems!
The very sight brought her to the memories of pleasure she’d give herself. Lilium tried not to blush as she recalled the Phoenix feather she’d use on her clitoris, which was quite deliciously ticklish. Such a secret was quite embarrassing to her and she kept it well concealed. Lilium loved to remove her dress and headpiece, and play with the toys she’d bring with her. The forest would echo her beautiful laughter and pleasured moans.
Little did Lilium know, today was the day her routine would change.
