I didn’t want to ask on your au blog because I didn’t want to clog it up. I am curious who are your favorites in SB?
Ouuughh you want me to pick favorites?? When all of the characters are so wonderful??? *Fine*. If I must. /lh
While I’m tempted to say Monty (both in terms of interesting character/story potential as well as my bias towards gators as a Floridian), and he is my favorite animatronic character, I have to go with Gregory.
He’s such an interesting character with so much potential and that makes him so much fun to rotate in my head like a microwave. Funnily enough, how he’s acted in Ruin hasn’t really dampened my interest in him, only changed the perspective I look at him with.
I’m also a fan of all the different theories around him, even the ones I highly doubt are accurate to canon (robo!Gregory my detested(affectionate)). What can I say, I’m a fan of hypotheticals.
#for similar reasons Cassie is rapidly climbing my fav sb character list#fnaf#five nights at freddy's#fnaf sb#fnaf security breach#fnaf ruin#fnaf ruin spoilers#(implied but still tagging it just in case)#gregory fnaf#asks#this kid is such a funky lil gremlin#and he’s mildly feral with a tendency towards destruction#how could I not love him#thanks for the ask!!!

he has the universe in his eyes
-
Bonus: my totally legit theory on why this happens
Cats are angels/spirits/deities/some sort of interstellar beings in disguise. Proof?
- Often spacing out and staring at walls; they are overcome with visions of the universe and all it contains.
- Zoomies; they're chasing the demons away.
- They sleep for two thirds of their lives; they are astral projecting to other realities while they sleep. The work of a god is never done.
- Instinctually knocking things off of things; giving you a mere taste of their power.
- Hanging out around humans; they offer us their divine protection against terrible forces known only to them.
- Ancient egyptians revered cats; possibly for this reason in addition to their other reasons.
- Sometimes even indoor cats will disappear inexplicably and show up hours later; they are time-travelling or visiting other timelines.
- Shaking a bag of treats makes them reappear; it is their tether to the present, and shaking it reminds them of where they belong.
- Cats in retirement residences have been reported spending more time with those who are close to death; they know their time is near and are leaving their imprint so that they are guaranteed safe passage to the afterlife.
- The camera eye thing; shining light directly at their eyes at certain angles allows us a glimpse at what they can see.
- They mostly fail the "mirror test" and gaguing their intelligence in general by the standards set by science; statistical testing is largely inaccurate even for people but this especially applies when you're trying to test a deity: you just shouldn't.
- They could also be disguising themselves by appearing less intelligent than they are.
- But some cats aren't nice; a supernatural entity isn't always benevolent and sometimes cats have a tendency to mildly abuse their power for their own amusement.
- Cats do things that they want to do, not necessarily what people order them to; we are foolish to even think that we could control a being of such power.
- Separate genuses of cats; varying levels of power- is a tiger more powerful in its spiritual abilities than a siamese cat? We don't know, their size could potentially mean nothing, or it could mean everything.
- It's been theorized that animals can see ghosts; this would especially be true for cats, as they see much more than we do.
- The cats we keep as pets often live in their own societies when feral; they are congregating, possibly condensing their powers.
- They have many eerily similar behavioural traits to humans; whether they want to admit it or not, we are rubbing off on them. Whether they resent this is up to the individual cat.
- Some cats will gravitate towards people who are upset and attempt to comfort them; they are actually quite empathetic animals but as powerful beings they desire peace for the humans who love and care for them in their corporeal forms.
- They need to be played with and have toys to entertain themselves or they can become destructive; they have pent-up power that needs to be released in some way, and for indoor cats who do not roam and chase prey stimulation in this form is important.
- Hunting and bringing you dead things; either a show of their power or a divine gift to you, depending on the cat. They have come to respect that disposing of said dead things is just human custom, and they know we still love them and appreciate the thought.
- Low object permanence; the physical world meshed with the spiritual would probably confuse you too, even if it was normal for you to see that way.
- Far-sightedness; a side effect of their vision of distant galaxies and other dimensions.
- Cats are responsible for the extinction of several rodents and birds in North America; it cannot be expected that all divine and supernatural beings are benevolent.
- The "cats have nine lives" myth; they actually do. If they die in their corporeal forms, they have eight more chances in this world. Nine was unfortunately the closest they could come because everything physical inevitably decays and is susceptible to damage and in the case of living organisms, illness.
I could probably explain every cat trait like this but this post is already so long so TL;DR: cats are powerful interdimensional beings who have grown attached to us for some reason. We are very lucky.
#in case anyone didn't get it#this is mostly a joke#i mean if you think long enough about it this starts to almost make sense#but i don't legitimately believe this#which is something i feel like i need to say because tumblr is the way that it is#or..#do i#dun dun dun#jazz#cats#catblr#pets#animals#cute#cat videos
