I feel like they rushed in season 4 and will do the same in season 5. I feel like they ran out of ideas on what to do with him other than make him look "dumb" and unlovable and with Jonathan fighting monsters in the season 1. 3 to a loser stoner with no big dreams, Nancy with her career, "I want Jonathan or Steve, j or S idk", all stereotypical of who will win the girl 😒 ughhh!! and in some ways I get it, especially with everything going on, they don't have much time but they had plenty of opportunities to introduce a new love interest to Steve or teach them that long distance relationships with communication can work, it was very frustrating to see that useless love confession and why jonathan needed to lie to her about the college thing, they focused on unnecessary romance, rather than boosting their abilities as individual characters.
They really did focus on unnecessary romance and some things were definitely rushed. I get that Jonathan needed a break from everything, he has been responsible for so many things all his life so I kinda get why he needed something to cool down but I also hate how much they had taken away from him.
They could also just show Steve being single and happy though 😭

Mini theory #3: endgame for Jancy or Stancy?
I really like Steve. Yes, in S1 he was a jerk, he made homophobic comments and overall treated Jonathan pretty bad, considering what his family was going through. But since then he’s grown so much. He’s become respectful, protective of the kids, and I love his friendship with Dustin and Robin.
That being said, I think Jancy is endgame, not Stancy. It is possible that Jonathan and Nancy break up during the time skip*, yes, but then they’ll get back together. My theory is that at the end of the story they’ll go to different colleges (long distance relationship), and then they’ll do what they always wanted to do: tell the world what really happened in Hawkins. In every season their story has been about investigating and finding the truth, only this time, they won’t water it down. With those huge gates and all the horrors that will happen in S5, it’ll finally be possible to make people accept what really happened. Nancy’s story began when she decided to find out the truth about Barb. That’s the reason why she decided to become a journalist in the first place (in S4 we saw that she’s still affected by Barb’s death). And Jonathan is a photographer. They’re perfect together. Just like Will and Mike, the artist and the writer. Them writing the real story and exposing all the lies that caused so much suffering would be the perfect ending for them. I would love it.
*  One reason why Jonathan could push Nancy away at the beginning of S5: Will being in grave danger again. Maybe even “gone”, like in S1. But this time his body would be there and his mind somewhere else (here the  theory ) We know that Jonathan was so worried about Will between S1 and S2 that Nancy felt like he had disappeared. It could happen again, at least for a while.
Other reasons why I don’t think Stancy will be endgame
I could be wrong, of course, but imo, Steve’s interest for Nancy in S4 doesn’t mean that they’ll get back together. And if they do, it won’t last. 1) I don’t think Nancy wants to have six kids with Steve. Nothing wrong about wanting a big family. But most of Nancy’s story is about not wanting to make the same mistakes her mom made. And although Steve is not like Ted, he still kinda represents that life. 2) If S5 will have most of the S1 dynamics back like the Duffers said, and my theories about Will having powers and being Vecna’s target are correct, it makes sense that we see that trio again. Jonathan trying to protect/save his brother, and Nancy and Steve helping him. Only this time, I really hope Steve and Jonathan become friends.  3) Nancy and Jonathan are the Byler couple that is already canon. The parallels with Mike and Will are pretty obvious, and now both Byler and Jancy have a lie/secret problem they need to solve. This is an opportunity to see how the Byers and the Wheelers will deal with their feelings, and maybe we’ll also get some good moments between Mike and Nancy! Especially after the vision of Mike dying.
The Duffers also said that only a few characters still need developement. Jonathan is definitely one of them. He desperately needs to start living his life and thinking about his own happiness.
Jancy’s problem, and the solution
Jancy’s problem is not that he and Nancy don’t love each other enough, or that Jonathan doesn’t understand or respect Nancy, or that Nancy needs to be single to be independent (?)
It’s that Jonathan can’t really be happy until he realises that he doesn’t need to sacrifice his happiness for other people. Will and Joyce would never want that for him. I think in S5 Jonathan will realise that he can be there for his family but also live his life and pursue his dreams. That’s why I love that they introduced Argyle. Jonathan needs a friend he can talk with, and be vulnerable and messy with, like the teenager he is. If I’m right and Will is going to be in danger again or even in a coma for a while, it’ll be a nightmare for Jonathan. So it’s good that he has someone like Argyle. And it's also important that he and Joyce talk. Nancy will be there for him too, of course. But Jonathan needs to understand that he deserves happiness too. Well, Will having powers could also help a lot, of course.
Tumblr media
That’s why I doubt Jonathan will die. His story has always been about making sacrifices for his family. Him dying wouldn’t be a satisfying ending, imo. And if he died, Will would be devastated. I doubt they would make that poor boy suffer even in the end. No, the Byers brothers will both get their happy ending. With the Wheelers. : )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know there are people who complain about Jonathan in S4, and say his story was pointless, but I disagree. I’m happy that the writers really started to explore how all the responsibilities have affected him. When his abusive father left, and maybe even before, he became a father figure to Will, to protect him and help his mom. That is a lot for a teenager, and after all the crazy things that happened to them, it’s totally understandable that he doesn’t want to leave his brother and his mom! I mean, in my family I am Jonathan, so I get him, really. And monsters and alternate dimensions made everything even more complicated. How many times did Jonathan say that he should’ve been there for Will? One night he decides his family needs money and his brother gets kidnapped by a monster. One year later, he leaves the town and when he comes back he finds out that his little brother... is possessed by an evil entity. In S3, he thinks they’re finally safe, but nope. Meat monster tries to kill everyone. That boy is traumatized!
I’m not forgetting Nancy. I just think that Jonathan is the one who’s stuck. Look at Nancy in S4. A total badass. Simply amazing. Jonathan? Stoned for half the season. Yep. He is the one who needs help. But in the end, I think he will find happiness. They both deserve it. And they deserve each other.
EDIT: Your tags are spot on, @guy-of-all-time Yes, Jonathan’s intentions are always out of selfesness. He’s lying to her because he wants to prioritize what he thinks would make Nancy happy, and not, like you say, hold her back from attending her dream college. But the thing is. Nancy loves him and wants him to attend his dream college too. She doesn’t want him to sacrifice his happiness, and she doesn’t want to lose him. They can make things work. But Jonathan grew up thinking that his dreams and needs are never as important as the ones of his loved ones. And that must change. One could say that life is never fair so maybe he’ll have to prioritize himself and he and Nancy will break up so he can go to college and become a photographer. But that would be another sacrifice. Why can’t he be with the girl he loves so much and also attend college? He always had to sacrifice something. I really hope in S5 he learns that he too can have what he wants.

fucking hell
i stayed up till 4 am to watch vol 2 cuz i thought it’d be good and it was good!!
Good ol’ queer bait thats what it fucking was.
I’m sorry that the duffer brothers felt that this was good enough writing to finish something amazing, and i am willingly ready to partake in a rewrite of vol 2 because this was blasphemous. (apologies ahead of time for the sheer amount of ranting i am going to do)
okay like first?? steve??? just. no. that whole spiel about the six ‘nuggets’ (that wounded me) and him LITERALLY SAYING THAT LIKE HES STILL IN LOVE WITH NANCY AND HE WANTS HER TO HAVE S I X KIDS WITH HIM ITS LIKE HE DOESNT EVEN KNOW HER BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW SHE AINT BUILT FOR THAT. ALSO nancy was in the middle of talking about robin, a person for whom they both care about, and its like he just redirected the conversation onto him. it looked like someone tried to inject more ronance but then someone else just like sidestepped it into Steve/Nancy, which was SO bad. Steve and Nancy shouldn’t be a thing. they just cant give each other what they need. Same with Jonathan and Nancy. Honestly, I did enjoy their relationship in all the past seasons, but s4 its been so strained and weird and the fact that Jonathan didnt even come clean to her at the end about the college apps was just ridiculous, and the exact moment i knew that they weren’t going to last. even their interactions at the end seemed weird and stiff, like neither of them really wanted to be there. (I hope they dont make her get with either of them. And maybe im just a diehard Ronance shipper, but Robin and Nancy make the most sense!!!)
Second point- Robin and Vickie
10000000.999999% unneeded and unwanted and unfunctional. If youre going to give the only explicitly confirmed gay character a love interest, the worst thing you could do was use the ‘oh no my crush is straight oh wait no she dumped him and now i think she likes me’ trope. tired, overdone, nasty. not even to mention the fact that Vickie is just. a straight (haha) up clone of Robin. They are the same person. They could be revealed to be cousins in s5 and i wouldnt be surprised. It’s tasteless and pathetic to watch. And it’s even more hurtful, because so many of us fans genuinely are in love with Robin and invested with her because we can connect to her the most, and the Duffers just cop out of a genuine and amazing relationship (ronance) and just turn to the basic and unflavorful This Was Obviously Written By A Straight Person relationship of Robin and Vickie.
And Max. And, you know let’s loop in Eddie too. Since they both died. Oh wait.
I’m not even sure to tackle Max’s death. i love her SO MUCH. she’s my second favorite character (right behind Robin). if i was in that situation, i would have let her die. its just easier, and we dont even know if, once dead, she even wanted to come back. this trope of bringing someone back always has consequences, which is why im not really a fan of it in the first place. it requires delicate writing because the situation can get bad very fast. and as of vol 2, im not sure the duffers can do it. (that being said, obviously i dont know their plan for max, but plots like these are kinda hit or miss yk? its just such a big thing)
Eddie’s death was anything but compelling. Like, i knew he was dying but i was kinda…. bored? idk if thats the right word to use, but it just felt kinda off. and the fact that no one addressed it besides Dustin, like, Eddie had so many more friends. and in my mind i think the whole ‘eddie died saving a town that didnt love him’ was more of a white lie for his uncle, because eddie didnt owe Hawkins anything. i mean, it does make him a hero in the way that everyone who helped was a hero, but not everyone needs a ‘redemption’ arc to better be accepted by society. like, his whole thing was kinda that he was different and he didnt care what other people thought. and he had so much potential too!!!
this is long lmfao sorry if i jump into your asks later because i still have more grievances
st4 spoilers
no need to apologize for the long ask because everything you said is true
i know duffers will never actually let ronance happen but Why push stancy it just doesn't make sense to the plot at all please just let nancy pull her self worth away from whichever boy she chooses duffers let nancy be single challenge
and im grilling them for putting in the whole six kids thing ESPECIALLY with the word nuggets it wasn't cute it wasn't funny it made me literally gag
AND VICKIE im
i love amybeth and nothing of this is directed to her bc she was getting paid to play a role and i love her <3
BUT THE DUFFERS let vickie be a barely present and exact carbon copy of robin just to serve as her love interest. how fucking lazy is that? they see how popular robin's character is Plus she's the only confirmed queer character (since they wanna be ambiguous with will) on the show and they just throw her with an underdeveloped character for diversity points... and with the whole extremely similar personalities thing yeah vickie started to ramble but robin said like 4 words and ik thats just bad writing and they don't actually care about my girl but im choosing to interpret it as she got over vickie which Good For Her
max my poor angel they really did just use you for bait </3 and sadie doesn't even know her role in s5 yet and its breaking my heart can we have anything nice Also why go after one of the girls.... one who's been abused her whole life too like give her of all people a happy ending
eddie was such a wastef character :( he was so original and fresh and he could've helped robin break out of her shell more but the duffers had to keep up the boring old pattern and kill him and his death was Meaningless because he could've just climbed to safety but noooo we can't have nice things now can we. and the fact that no one addressed his death what the hell

There was a certain comfort about hiding something so tender from everyone else. Maybe it was the fact that it remained untouched by the menacing hands of the outside world, maybe it was the fact that it laid in the shadows, unseen by everyone else. Whatever it was, Nancy didn’t have a problem continuing this charade of hiding her relationship from her friends and family. She was perfectly content on hiding the loving touches and kisses that she and Y/N shared in the confines of their rooms.
Y/N on the other hand was growing tired of being hidden. She wanted nothing more than to hold Nancy’s hand as they walked down the street in the daylight. She wanted to kiss her in front of their friends just as Nancy had done with her boyfriend’s in the past. She wanted to have the sickeningly cute relationship you saw in the movies, but yet, she was restricted to stealing kisses when they snuck away under the pretenses of powdering their noses.
“Hey, Nance,” Y/N spoke up, her teeth picking at her bottom lip nervously. She didn’t lift her head off Nancy’s chest, remaining in her comfortable position of laying between Nancy’s thighs, their stomachs pressing together. Nancy hummed, her fingers continuing to comb through Y/N’s hair. “I’ve been thinking-”
“Uh oh, thinking almost always leads to something.” Nancy commented, trying to keep the lightness of the situation, almost as if she knew exactly what Y/N was going to try and talk about. Y/N sensed her girlfriend’s nerves rising, the panic stirring under her calm surface. She pulled herself from Nancy’s embrace, suddenly the calmness she once felt a second ago turned to undeniable tension. Sitting on her knees, she faced Nancy who sat up, pulling her knees to her chest.
“Yeah, that’s kinda the whole point,” Y/N nodded awkwardly, tangling her fingers together nervously. “Um, I was just wondering when we could maybe tell people about us,” She spoke the question that had been weighing on her mind for some time. “It doesn’t have to be everyone, it can start with Robin and Steve or something, or maybe just Robin, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re comfortable, but I just want someone else to know about us.” She rambled, worried that the thought of telling everyone they knew would freak Nancy out too much.
“I don’t know, Y/N, I kind of like this.” Nancy shrugged, wrapping her arms around herself. Y/N sighed, her shoulders slumping. She knew that Nancy had worked at breaking from the mold of the perfect daughter, trying to stop living with a safety net under her at all times, but she also knew that the safety net had only dropped so far.
“Like what, Nancy? Like only being able to hold each other within a certain four walls? Is this all our relationship will be? Hiding in our rooms, stealing kisses in empty public washrooms?” Y/N pressed, gesturing to the room they currently sat in. The walls of Nancy’s room was a sight that Y/N saw pretty much daily, but right now, she would rather be anywhere else.
“Of course not,” Nancy defended, her mouth falling open as she struggled to find a way to reply to her. “But you have to admit that there is something special about keeping this,” She gestured between herself and Y/N who remained at the foot of her bed, keeping as much distance between them as she could. “Keeping us away from them.” She pointed her finger towards her window. Y/N glanced towards it before shaking her head.
“Look Nancy, I get that you’re nervous to tell people and that’s okay, but honestly,” She took a deep breath. “You might be okay with hiding us from the world, but it makes me feel like shit. It makes me think that you don’t want people to know that you’re dating me and that hurts.” Tears stung her eyes, but she hurriedly blinked them away. She kept her eyes from meeting Nancy’s brown ones, knowing that if she looked at them, she wouldn’t be able to stop the salty tears from streaking down her cheeks.
“That’s not what I meant to do, you have to trust me, Y/N/N,” Nancy pleaded, rolling onto her knees to reach for Y/N’s hands. Y/N scrambled off the bed, standing in the middle of Nancy’s room with her hands raised in the air to avoid Nancy from teaching them. She shook her head, a lump forming in her throat. “I never meant for you to feel like that, I just think it’d be better if we keep our relationship a secret for a bit longer-”
“Yeah, a bit longer,” Y/N’s voice was weak as she tried to hold back her emotions, her bitter sarcasm straining through just enough for Nancy to recognize it. “That’s what you said two months ago! And two months before that,” She exclaimed loudly. Nancy sent a panicked look to the closed bedroom door, shushing Y/N. “Christ Nancy! We’re nearing our one year anniversary and we are still keeping us a secret,” She continued. Nancy opened her mouth to talk, but Y/N unknowingly cut her off, finally meeting Nancy’s eyes. “Why,” She spoke the word softly, so softly that it was almost unheard. “Why do you want to keep us a secret?” Hurt was evident in her voice and Nancy knew that nothing she could say would make that hurt go away right now.
“I-I,” She stammered, this time, it was her eyes that dropped from Y/N’s. “I-”
“Is it because you’re dating me, a girl,” Y/N posed the question with a strained voice. This time a tear did roll down her cheek. “Because I really don’t want to think that you would be ashamed of that, but I really cannot find another reason why you would be so adamant about keeping us a secret. And if you’re not ready to come out to people yet, that’s fine. I am completely okay with that because that’s something you have to do on your own time, but all I am asking for is for you to tell me so that we can figure out where we can go from here,” She ranted her voice wobbling. She looked up at the ceiling, trying to will the tears and lump in her throat away, but it was useless. “Because I don’t want to sit here and just be a secret forever.”
“That’s not the reason! Maybe it’s part of it, but trust me when I say that I am ready to come out to my mom and brother! Even our friends, but I don’t want to fully disclose our relationship with them.” Nancy told her, her eyes wide.
“That’s the thing, Nancy,” She sighed. “I don’t want to force you to come out to anyone if you’re not ready. If you were truly ready, you would have talked about it or at least thought about before you realized that you could lose me from this,” Y/N finally shuffled back over to the bed, sitting on the edge of it, just far enough out of Nancy’s reach to let her know she still didn’t want to be touched. “I’m not saying I want to break-up, I am saying that I want to talk about this with you, but I think we both need to take some time and think about what we want separately and then talk.”
“So you want to go on a break?” Nancy’s voice wobbled this time, her bottom lip quivering ever so slightly.
“No, just take a day or two, think about it and then we can talk and see where to go from there. We need to start communicating instead of just brushing everything under the rug,” Y/N paused, hesitantly reaching her hand out to lay in over Nancy’s, their eyes connecting. “But don’t feel like you need to come out to keep me, I don’t want to force you to come out, I just want to talk.” She reminded her.
“Talk,” Nancy nodded, swallowing thickly. “We can do that.”
“Okay,” Y/N whispered, pulling her hand off Nancy’s slowly. “I’m going to go now, call me when you want to talk?” She asked, picking her bag up off the floor. Nancy nodded, her lips pressing together in an attempt to stop the trembling. She didn’t answer, too scared that she’d break down if she opened her mouth to speak.
With a final nod and a tight smile, Y/N opened the door to Nancy’s room. It felt like even more of a weight settled down upon her now that the fate of their relationship hung in the balances of uncertainty as she closed the door behind her and quickly made her way out of the Wheeler household. “Leaving so soon, Y/N, I was just going to go up and ask if you were staying for dinner tonight.” Mrs. Wheeler perked up as the teen rushed past the entrance of the dining room. Y/N stopped, backing up to peek her head around the wall, a fake smile on her lips.
“Uh, not tonight Mrs. Wheeler, thanks for the offer though! I’m just really swamped with College Applications and stuff, the busy life of a Senior!” She lied, hoping the older woman would buy it. Mrs. Wheeler hummed, nodding as if she hadn’t bought the lie she gave her.
“You’re coming to the movie night this weekend though, right?” Mike popped up, blinking at the girl. The monthly movie night. It started with just Y/N, Steve, Robin, and the kids before it expanded to include Nancy after her break-up with Jonathan.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” She told him, earning a smile from the lanky teen. “See you, Mrs. Wheeler, thank you for having me!” She called over her shoulder, escaping the seemingly cheery house as she felt like she was suffocating. She regretted bringing the topic up. She wanted to huddle back under the shade of the shadows, the protection of blissful ignorance, but she knew that if they wanted to progress this relationship any farther, they had to talk about this sooner or later.
She held onto her tears long enough to slip into her car, but the second the door slammed, her shoulders shook as tears rolled freely down her cheeks. The fear that maybe this might be the end of her relationship weighing heavily on her mind. ____
“Nancy?” Y/N gasped in shock when she pulled her front door open to see her girlfriend standing on her porch. Nancy looked up from her feet, her eyes connecting with Y/N’s. Tension and an air of awkwardness surrounded them as they stood there staring at each other.
“Um, I know you asked me to call you, but I was out driving and I thought that there was no better time to talk than now,” Nancy explained, shuffling her feet. Y/N blinked, not having expected Nancy to be ready to talk so soon (a day) after the fight. “Could I come in?” She asked the stunned girl, pointing past her into her house.
“Yeah, yeah,” Y/N nodded, stepping aside as she ran a hand over her face. “Come in, and uh, sit down, my parents are out for the night so we can talk in the living room if you’d like.” Y/N swallowed, gesturing towards the empty living room.
“Thank you.” Nancy whispered in passing, slipping into the house and practically beelining towards the living room. Y/N softly closed the door, leaning her forehead against the wood of it before pushing off it and joining Nancy.
“Would you like a drink or something before we start talking,” She asked, rubbing the back of her neck. Nancy shook her head, settling down on the couch, placing her bag by her feet delicately. “Okay,” Y/N nodded, rubbing her nervous palms on her jeans. She sat on the opposite end of the couch stiffly, clearing her throat. “So, you’re ready to talk about us?”
“Yeah, um,” Nancy shifted, angling her body to look at Y/N better from the corner of her eyes. She kept her gaze on her interlocked fingers that were placed in her lap. “I gave it a lot of thought.” Nancy informed her. Y/N hummed, turning her head to look at Nancy, waiting for her to continue, but she didn’t.
 “And?”
“And I am ready to come out to our friends and my mom, but I just don’t know about telling them about us.” Nancy slowly let her eyes flirt up to look at Y/N, avoiding eye contact despite being glued to her face. Y/N nodded, pulling her face away from the girl, looking off towards the wall in front of her. The lump returned, blocking her airway.
“Okay, may I ask why you don’t want to tell them about us?” She wondered, trying to keep her watering eyes from developing into tears. Her heart sinking to the bottom of her feet.
“I don’t really know, it’s just that this is good - what we have is good.” Nancy tried to explain.
“Can I ask if you feel scared to tell people about us?” Y/N once again wondered, not wanting to push Nancy into doing something she didn’t want to, but also wanting to be happy in a relationship. She wanted to be with Nancy, but if Nancy wasn’t willing to consider the option of telling someone about their relationship, Y/N wasn’t sure she would be happy in the relationship.
“No, of course not,” Nancy defended honestly, slumping when she realized that she would have to expose the real reason to Y/N. “I just don’t want anything to change. I like how this is going and I don’t want to let the world at what we have, it’s too tender and too soft for the world.”
“If what we have is too soft for the world then it’s doomed because even hidden behind a curtain of secrecy, our relationship still had to stand the test of the world,” Y/N told her, still not looking towards the slack-jawed girl. “Look, Nancy, the world will get to us, maybe even more if we keep this a secret. Change is inevitable, it will get us either way.”
“I get that, but for right now, we can protect this from the world for just a bit longer!” Nancy cried, trying to prove her point. Y/N shook her head, turning her watery eyes to look at Nancy.
“Don’t you see it, Nance? This right here,” She gestured around the room and between them. “This fight, this argument that we’re having. This is the world getting at we have. And as much as I respect your desire to stay a secret, I just can’t be happy in a secret relationship that has no signs of becoming public at all.”
“So you want to break-up?” Nancy’s question was so similar to the one she asked the other day and she wished that Y/N’s answer would be the same as it was that time. Nancy let out a breath when Y/N shook her head.
“No, I don’t want to break-up, but I want to know that eventually, we will tell our friends at least because I love you and I want to hold your hand, I don’t want to pretend to be just friends in front of everyone. I love you Nancy Wheeler and I want to show you that I love you in front of our friends because it kills me to hear them asking you if you’ve met anyone and for you to tell them no.” Y/N ranted, her eyes darting away from Nancy’s once again.
Nancy sat there, her world shattering around her at the words Y/N spoke to her. “You love me?” Nancy whispered, hoping that Y/N didn’t mean those words.
“Yeah,” Y/N whispered back, her body riddled with anxiety. She could hear Nancy swallow from the deafening silence blanketing the room. Y/N’s tongue darted out to wet her lips nervously, waiting for Nancy to say something. “If you don’t want to say it back, it’s fine. Really, and it’s okay that you don’t want to tell people about us, but I just want you to tell me that there is a chance of us telling people about us before I fall any deeper.”
Nancy watched the glistening tear roll down Y/N’s cheek, a ball forming in her throat and a suffocating weight being placed on her chest. “I-I don’t know,” Nancy stuttered out, standing from the couch, her purse dangling from her fingers. “I need to go and think more, I guess I wasn’t ready for this yet, I’m sorry, Y/N,” She rushed out. Y/N stood, her heart falling from Nancy’s hands and splattering on the carpeted floor under their feet. “I’ll call you when I’ve figured it out, okay?” Nancy fled to the door, yanking it open and darting to her car before Y/N could even get to the front door herself.
“Wait, Nancy,” Y/N called, scrambling onto the porch, watching as the girl she loved slid into a Station Wagon. “Where does this leave us?” Her voice echoed into the night, but it didn’t receive an answer. ____
The weekend rolled around faster than Y/N wanted to. She had waited for so long for Nancy to come and talk to her, but her phone never rang nor did her doorbell. Y/N regretted a lot of things. The deep regret of bringing this up in the first place still grew in her stomach, the regret of saying that she loved her in the height of emotions piled on top of that to great a giant pile of regret.
Nancy on the other hand was high strung. Her mind ran a mile a minute. Her thoughts were all occupied by Y/N. The way her touch made her feel, the way her smile lit up the world, the beautiful melody that was her laugh. Before, she wasn’t sure why she wanted to keep the beautiful relationship between them a secret, but it came to her suddenly. She was scared, scared of having this relationship fail too. She had fallen out of love with Steve easily when Jonathan crept his way into her heart then she fell out of love with Jonathan due to the struggles of long-distance. When Y/N had uttered those words to her, it re-enforced that fear, but also made it clear that Nancy was once again free falling. She couldn’t escape her feelings, they were there and they needed to be tended to.  The doorbell to the Wheeler household rang through the still house, jolting Nancy out of her thoughts. It was Y/N without a doubt, the others were already piled in the basement waiting for the movie night to begin. Swallowing thickly, Nancy chewed on her bottom lip. She stood from her bed, rushing down the stairs when she heard her mom greeting Y/N with excitement. She always loved Y/N. “Y/N,” Nancy exclaimed, stopping on the turn of the stairs. Y/N snapped her head up at the call of her name as did Mrs. Wheeler. “Could I talk to you in my room for a second?” She nodded her head up the stairs, her eyes pleading.
“Yeah, of course, Nancy.” Y/N nodded, her voice full of worry and nerves. She was convinced that Nancy was going to break up with her. That this would be the end to Nancy and Y/N. Mrs. Wheeler sent her daughter a wink and a smile, causing Nancy’s cheeks to flush, but Y/N was too wrapped up in her mind to notice it.  The walk to Nancy’s room was short, but right now it felt like the length of Indiana itself. The silence between them was absolutely stifling. Nancy closed the door behind them, not missing the way Y/N moved to the other side of the room - putting as much distance between them as she could.
“Hi.” Nancy breathed, turning to face the silent girl. Y/N blinked, obviously filled with anxiety.
“You wanted to talk to me?” Y/N reminded, her hands slipping into the pockets of her denim jacket. Nancy cleared her throat, nodding. She took a few hesitant steps towards Y/N, not too many that she made her feel uncomfortable, but enough for her to get closer. From there, she was able to catch a whiff of Y/N’s calming scent from the spring breeze rolling in from the open window. Nancy took the chance to breathe it in, having missed it for the past few days.
“Yeah, I realized something while we were apart,” Nancy paused, looking down as she fiddled with her fingers. “I realized a lot actually and I’m not really sure where to start-”
“Just start where it feels natural, let your gut choose.” Y/N offered, making Nancy look up at her. The last rays of the sun shining through the window, creating a glow around her, making her look like an angel. Nancy lost her thoughts as she gazed upon her, the hues of pink and orange glowing off her skin, looking like a painting you would find in the Le Louvre.
“You mean everything to me,” She exhaled, startled that it had slipped out of her mouth. “Oh wow, okay, guess we are going with that first,” She admitted bashfully, dropping her head to face the carpet to hide the blush dusting her cheeks from Y/N. “I love you Y/N, so much and the reason I ran after you said that was because you were right, right about me being scared,” She sucked a breath in, trying to keep all the mustered up confidence that she had in her. “I was scared of those words, scared of yet another failed relationship and that’s why I was so against us telling people.”
“And what about now,” Y/N stepped one step closer, feeling hopeful. “Are you still scared?”
Nancy shook her head gently. “A little, but I’m more excited to see where this goes if you still love me.”
“Of course I still love you! It would take an awful lot for me not to love you,” Y/N smiled, taking a few more steps towards Nancy. Nancy took two steps, the two meeting in the center of the room, face to face. Their mouths were both stretched into large smiles, matching blushes painting their cheeks as they held each other. “You mean everything to me.” She whispered, leaning her face closer to Nancy’s. Nancy giggled, closing the distance between them to press their lips together.
They both welcomed the taste of each other, missing it desperately. Warmth spread through Y/N’s body, feeling like every single nerve was alive with happiness from the touching of their lips. Pulling back from the tender kiss, Nancy still held Y/N tight to her. “I want to tell them.”
“Tell them that you like girls and guys?” Y/N questioned, not knowing that Nancy had come out yet.
“I already told my family that, they are very accepting, my dad was a bit cold, but mom talked to him,” Nancy told her as if it wasn’t a big deal, but the growth of her smile told Y/N otherwise. “I want to tell them about us. I am pretty sure my mom already knows, I think she knew before I came out, but I want to tell our friends. Tonight.”
“Are you sure, I don’t want you to think that you have to do that in order for me to stay with you because I’ll stay with you regardless.” Y/N worried, not wanting to pressure Nancy into anything she didn’t want to do.
“I want to, I think it’d be a good baby step for us to slowly not be a secret anymore.” Nancy confirmed, pulling away from Y/N, but keeping one of her hands tightly in her grasp, her eyes twinkling with pure happiness.
“Only if you’re sure. You can take the reins on this one in case you change your mind, okay?” Nancy ignored this, pulling Y/N towards the door and into the hall, her fingers intertwining with Y/N’s absent-mindedly. Their hearts beat wildly in their chests as they rushed down the main stairs and dashed to the basement door. The room was already dark, the only light being from the blue screen coming from the TV, the VCR already prepped for the movie night.
“ ‘Bout time you two got down here.” Dustin grumbled from his spot on the floor next to Mike.
“Sorry, but we had to discuss something that we want to share with you guys,” Nancy could barely contain her excitement as she shared a giddy, love-struck look with Y/N. The group looked at her, Steve and Robin sitting on the couch with their feet propped up on the middle cushion. Max and Lucas sat on the floor with their backs pressed against the couch. “We’re dating, have been for almost a year.” They looked back at the group to see them all sharing looks.
“So,” Mike spoke up, as they all turned to look at the two girls again. “We already knew that. For a while now.”
“Wait, what?” Nancy sputtered, her eyes wide, her mouth falling open in shock.
“For starters, you guys are not discrete at all.” Steve broke the news, tossing a piece of popcorn into his mouth. Nancy scoffed, rolling her eyes, muttering a small ‘says you’ under her breath, earning a whine from her ex-boyfriend.
“Secondly, you should see the way you two look at each other, it was so obvious that you guys were mad for each other,” Robin shrugged. “Now hurry up and sit down so we can start this movie, I’ve been itching to see it.” Robin ordered, pointing to the armchair that was conveniently the only chair left for them.
“And we thought this would be ground-breaking news,” Y/N chuckled, shaking her head as Nancy led her across the darkroom. Plunking down in the soft chair, Nancy pulled Y/N down to sit on her lap, but Y/N shimmied so that only her legs rested over Nancy’s lap. “I love you.” She hummed, snuggling into her girlfriend.
Nancy pressed a kiss to her forehead. “I love you too, Angel.”

Stories, Tales & Facts (Part 1.) (Sriracha, Part 36.)
Series description: A problematic college student gets the worst summer job of the ‘83 - Jim Hopper, the Chief of police in your hometown will have you as his secretary since his old lady Flo has two months lasting holiday. It was agreed so Hopper could let you far away from all the trouble.
Part Summary: Hopper was about to speak up about his past - from where his trouble had started to where it ended just before few weeks. But you didn‘t know how much shit he was through.
A/N: Let‘s face it. This chapter contains huge spoilers for Hopper‘s which is completely named in novel Darkness on the Edge of Town. So it should be at least partially cannonical.

The next morning, you had woken up pretty early in the morning. At least, you fell asleep - Hopper was awake the whole time, just staring into the ceiling before he got out of the bed to eat something, make you a coffee and breakfast. Which made you smile a bit. He was still as thoughtful as he was before.
But you didn‘t even let him take a short breath before you asked the first question of the day.
“So, you said there‘s a lot.” - You mumbled and gave him a look as you sat down, gently pulling a bit away from him. - “That means you have to start from the beginning. Every tale has a beginning, the middle, and an end. Do you understand that friends don‘t lie?” - You asked Eleven‘s most favorite sentence. This sentence was bugging Jim off a lot back in the day. When you told him the sentence, you made him feel a bit better. It was a thing so known and nice.
“If you want to start from the beginnin‘ of my trouble, we will go way down back to the sixties.” -  Hopper told you honestly. At that, you chuckled.
“Jim, I already know that you were in Vietnam. That isn‘t anything new.” - You told him ironically. At that, he looked into your face.
“You know that I was there once. Wrong. I was there twice. The first time, it was in ‘62.” - Jim told you straight in your face. At that, your breath hitched in your throat. He was... Eighteen. He was fucking eighteen when he first was transported to that hell. - “And for your information, I went there voluntarily. Nobody asked me to go.”
You were looking him into the eyes. The questions in your eyes were completely vivid. Your lips were just opening and closing as you tried to tell him something back, but nothing hit your tongue.
“You don‘t understand how was it like in here back in the sixties. I didn‘t know what to do here, I was kinda... Lost. You‘re a psychologist, you should know what I was feelin‘. I wanted to feel like I‘m useful, not like I‘m just spendin‘ my life in the biggest asshole in the USA.”
“Then I went back for turnus number two in ‘68. After that, I met Diane. And believe or not, I was really happy with her. Not too long ago, in ‘71, Sara was born. And we left for New York, but you already know what I‘ve been doin‘ in there.” - He said without explaining to you any further.
Yeah, you‘ve heard that story already. How he was the big detective in Brooklyn‘s sixty-fifth district and how he went after something he called the card-murders, He almost killed a man back then. After that, Sara had died and Diane left him. Except for the Vietnam news, you hadn‘t known about any of that, you knew about everything. But the biggest shockers were just coming your way.
“I was hurt. Hurt. And then you came by and for a small while, everything seemed to be right. I felt good about myself for a time. That was when Will Byers disappeared." - Hopper took a deep breath, giving you a look. - "Promise me that no matter how crazy everythin' seems to be, you'll believe me. I won't ever make up anythin' like this. You promise?"
That was when you got quiet again, only drinking coffee while eating the mashed eggs he had prepared you. - "Friends don't lie. Tell me and we'll see how crazy this seems to be."
So Hopper did as you wished and told you about the November of '83. About Eleven, Papa, and the Lab. He didn't leave out a single detail. Jim didn't leave out any gore, he told you all about what Eleven can do, which was the first thing you weren't able to come around.
"Jim, she's a normal kid. I had raised my daughter for more than just a week. If there would be any red flags, believe me, I would notice." - You said a bit more aggressively than you anticipated. But you were sure that Jim is just fucking around with.
“You remember that one time we had a fight in the cabin and I fell flat on my ass? You thought I just lost balance.” - He told you rather seriously and you uncomfortably shifted into a different position. How would you be able to forget that argument? You were yelling, screaming, crying that night until Eleven came out of her room. - “Blood was drippin' out of her nose, which made you worried, remember?” - Jim whispered and you needed to look away for a second. You haven't noticed a single weird thing about your baby, she was just a normal, twelve-year-old girl when you met. But it all checked in, according to what Jim had told you.
After that, Jim proceeded to another part of the story - explaining why Will was getting worse and worse (that was because of a thing called the Mind Flayer), which you had noticed, what happened with the veins under Hawkins, the Demodogs, what Steve Harrington did which resulted in him and children being best friends, which you also knew. In detail, Jim described what happened underneath the Lab and that Eleven went to see Terry Ives, her biological mother. In the middle of the story, you had to take a short break to think about everything and to have another cup of coffee.
You started crying when you finally got to know what even happened to Joyce's Bob. You didn't believe a thing Jim said, it was so surreal, but you finally got an explanation. It didn't mean that the explanation would make you satisfied, but it was a piece of information with which you could fill the blanks you had in your head. He was eaten by some fucking Demogorgons, whatever that thing was. You had an idea of how did the monster look - once, you played D&D with the kids and something like that was in the game.
And when the Russians came to play, you couldn't understand anything anymore. You were just sitting there, listening to Hopper talking about Starcourt mall being invested with Russians living in an underground base. At the same time, the Mind Flayer got Billy Hargrove, that son of a snake who was Max's brother. It was literally - Mind Flayer got him. Because of the beast, the boy was dead. Jim didn't know that Billy was dead, but then you told him with a terrified expression.
When Jim finished Billy's part of the story, he proceeded to tell you what happened to him. The events happened to both you had met at one point - the moment when Eleven got out of the mall. Each one of you was there - you were hugging El in front of the mall while Jim and Joyce were trying to blow up the massive generator under Starcourt. That was the moment he had presumably died. That was something which Dr. Owens had come up with since they didn't find a single clue that Hopper had died in the generator room. For Hopper to have some time to catch some breath, Owens had decided to pronounce Hopper dead for the time they were searching for him - he found himself being in Russia, working in a gulag. He told you about how he had got out and contented Owens again, Sam helping him back into Indiana so Hopper could start a search for you once again. And because he was in such mental and physical state when he came back, he was taking Tuinal again.
You were back to the square one. Hopper was taking drugs, he was a stranger and on top of that, he was lying to you for almost three years in a row, which was quite impressive. You were slowly getting fed up and mad when you realized that three years, basically thirty-six months, every time something unnatural happened, every time some monster appeared, he figured out some lie to tell you. He was wrapping you in a silver lining after silver lining, again and again. Which had blown you away.
It was almost midday when he had finished - you were preparing some lunch so Hopper would have to eat something. You were just cooking some meat with vegetables, while Hopper let you get your mind sorted.
"I think that the drugs made something to your brain, Jim." - You snorted all of a sudden. It was one of your typical, ironical snorts. You put the potatoes into the oven, put your elbows over your chest, and looked at him. - "Because a single word of what you've said... These are all illusions and hallucinations. If you plotted all of this the six months you were God knows where it's really impressive. Hands down to you, my dude, you got me in the first half."
Jim looked at you. You weren't even crying. But... You cried when he told you what happened to Bob, you believed him, right? If you wouldn't believe him, why would you cry?
"And bringing almost everyone into that, the kids, Joyce, Steve, Bob, Powell, and Callahan... Dear Lord, you even put it onto a precise timeline. You are sitting here, in front of me, looking me dead in the eyes, telling me... All of this, expecting me to believe. Oh, God, James Hopper. You have disappointed me." - You put your palms on your hips, turning away from him with a burst of unbelieving laughter.
"You don't believe me? Fine, let's visit Mike and ask him. Ask Harrington about it. Even that Henderson boy would tell you that this is the truth. Not enough? Fine, Imma take you to the Lab. I will show you everything. Imma ask Nancy Wheeler to give me the photos of Demogorgon." - Hopper stood up in front of you, having his faces just inches from yours. His face was deadly serious and for a second, you thought about if you had poked some sensitive spot or what did you even do. You thought he went mental in the last six months.
"I hadn't told you because the government would be after you and if somethin' happened to you or her... I mean... Anythin'... How would someone like me even come across losing his loved ones? Once again?" - He took your shoulder to his palms, making you look into his eyes.
"In New York, a special agent of a secret state organization named Gallup showed me, how easy is for someone to disappear in a manner of an afternoon. And I'm sure that he would make Diane and Sara disappear the same, just as he told me he would in case I wouldn't want to cooperate with them in the Card murders case." - Hopper shook your shoulders, making you furrow a little.
James wasn't aggressive at that moment, no, he was just making you listen. And not just to register information that was coming out of his mouth. He wanted you to listen to what he was saying with the tone of his voice. It was really important for you to understand. But he was shaking your body as if you were a rag doll.
"And I know that if I would tell you a single thing of what have I told you just now, they would make you disappear, maybe they would deport you into the Russian hell I was in, they would get rid of you just like that." - One of his fingers snapped, making you even more scared than before. Your heard was pounding loud and quick, you almost didn't hear a word he had told you.
Was he serious? Was some secret state services spying on you and him, on your home, even your family perhaps? You haven't noticed a thing. Nobody ever had followed you, your phone wasn't monitored, there weren't any weird guys or women in your neighborhood. Ever. But... Jim seemed kinda serious, which made you gasp for air.
"I couldn't do that because I love you. And trust me, Tuinal didn't cause any of the things I've just told you. I'm not shittin' you, I'm not sayin' weird shit, it's just how it is." - Jim slowly let go of you, letting you step away from him as you started to panic again, covering your mouth with your palm. It wasn't the usual panic attack, this was... You were horrified.
It was hard to believe since what he had told was straightaway King-novel fanfiction shit. Hardcore eighties sci-fi and horror at its best. But... What would you do if Hopper had a chance to prove each of his points? What would you do then?
A fucking creature from which crawled another dimension was getting your girl, who had telepathic abilities by the way, and her friends in danger. And your fiancé was there both times, trying to keep your world and family safe.
"Look at this from my point of view, Jim. This is... Wild. This is more than fucking wild. Even if it would be a work of your imagination, which would be kinda incredible when I think about your imagination, it still would be wild. But you told me that there is... Proof, right? You can show me, that what you said?" - You asked again, pushing him away from the stove to continue with cooking the lunch.
"It is slightly illegal and can be called a trespassin', but I can show you everythin'." - Jim nodded and lit up a cigarette, taking one out of the pack you had there. You knew that you'd have to open up the window since both your mom and your dad were non-smokers. They wouldn't be very glad if they'd somehow find out that you or James smoked inside.
"I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and I'm willing to go there... Whenever your damn Lab even is. But if it turns out to be all just one big lie, I swear to God, Jim. You're on thin fucking ice and if that ice breaks under you..." - You rose your eyebrows, looking out of the window. Jesus, you were torn apart into two halves - one wanted to believe him, you wanted to believe Jim so, so, so fucking bad. You were still in love with him, which was undeniable.
In the end, you lived together for... About two years? You couldn't even count it since Hopper was disappearing rather frequently and was gone... For sometimes a week, something three months, sometimes half a year. It was hard to establish how much time from those three years, two and a half years specifically, you had a normal relationship. Were you even in that phase? In the phase of having a normal relationship?
The other half inside of you was fucking sure that Jim had gone insane. Because using shit from D&D, tying up all the people you knew into the story, telling you that it always happened only when you weren't around... Jesus fucking Christ. You took in another deep breath and lit up a cigarette too, trying to keep your head straight. You were shaking. Your muscles were spasming and letting go at a pace so fast that your body was burning up.
After serving Jim the lunch, you both dressed up to be at least warm and able to move in the winter outside. Jim had taken your dad's splitters along with an old flashlight and put them on the backseat while he made you sit behind the steering wheel. You were a bit nervous, which was leveling up adequately with your inability to start the car.
"God fucking damn it, this dumb old car, I swear." - You mumbled under your breath when the engine didn't want to start working. Without further ado, Jim got off the car and opened up the hood, looking inside of it. He still had the same expression had when he was trying to start your car. Your car was a moody machine, especially in winter. Hopper breathed out a bit of fog on his fingers, trying to warm them up before he started to play with the cables.
"Kick it." - He looked at you with his eyebrows risen. You did as you were told and turned the engine key, making the engine yell loudly. You would be lost in the winter when it wouldn't be for Jim. Nobody except him and your dad had the skill to start that old crap. Jim sat back to you with a shit-eating grin, making you grin as well.
You were driving while he was telling you where to take a turn and where you should drive in the woods. Not too long after that, you were parking the car near an old facility which seemed to be empty and abandoned for quite some time. The snow was reaching up to your waist and thighs, so it was quite hard to even get in front of the Lab. The glass door were shattered, from squatters or someone like that you assumed, so getting wasn't too much trouble either.
That was when you saw it - blood on the ground and walls. That made you cover up your mouth and hope that you won't throw up.
"That's where Bob had died. Owens had to leave the place so quickly they barely packed everythin'." - Jim said behind you quietly in a mourning voice. That made you stand up. There was no body, but the tracks of blood, even if someone was trying to cover them up with paint, were still visible. - "You doin' good?" - His palm gently patted and then smoothed your back, making you a bit more comfortable. Tears were coming up to your eyes again when you watched the spot.
As you told, you didn't know Bob that well - you knew that man only from Jim's and Joyce's stories and from meeting him less than five times. But the man was a genuine good person. That was why you were so fucking moved by seeing the exact spot where he... Passed away. Or where he was eaten to death. Dear God.
When you nodded, Jim took you further into the facility. The windows were shattered so the ice-cold winter evening wind was howling through there, the walls were graffitied, but to your surprise, some of the lights were still working.
Documents marked as super-secret were scattered in the ground, even if most of the text was blacked with a marker. There was a lot of equipment left behind, medical and research tools just scattered around on the ground and in the empty rooms. Jim really meant what he told you; the government basically made Owens clear the building in two days - which was why there was all the stuff still here. Owens only packed the necessities, pushed them into three loaded military trucks and left the place as if nothing ever happened there. Or that was at least what Murray was telling.
It maybe was looking scary, but it still wasn't anything unusual. It was just the vibe of the place that was off. Until you tripped over something. Before you fell into the ground, Jim caught you, but your eyes widened in realization. You tripped over a pile of bones. Something had died and rotted there.
But it was too small to be an adult human bones. First, when you squated, took a paper from the ground to cover your fingers, you thought that maybe it could be bones of a child. But when you picked one up and looked at it closely, your breath hitched once again. Back in your day on highschool, you studied medicine and anatomy a lot, since you didn't know if you want to be a normal doctor or a psychologist when you grow up. You liked to have a back up plan and medicine was quite interesting as well. So you knew how human bones should look like; you once even saw some.
But that structure, shape, the color... Nothing seemed to be even close to how should human bones look like. First, you thought that maybe, it could be some animal bones of an nimal which was dragged there or tried to escape to safety - you would be sure since veterinary medicine wasn't really you thing.
Then you noticed it. It just hit your eyes - small spikes on the bones. You knew that birds had their bone structure practically full so they could fly... But an animal with spikes on their bones? No. Any known animal had spikes on its bones as far as you were informed.
"This... Jim..." - You gasped for air and put the bone back on the pile. Slowly, the things he told you about Bob, these Demogorgons and shit... It seemed to be more and more real with each passing second.
"We ain't endin' here." - Jim told you and led even further into the facility; specifically under it. You needed to take a few staircases which were quite long, but you were at least one or two levels under the surface of land. The door was locked with a chip reader, so Hopper just broke in after a few tries.
That was where the shit got wild. Some lights were working, some were just lighting up just to go dark in the next second, flickering and making the atmosphere darker and darker.
You were in something that could be called an observation station with a few machines. There was a monitor that was showing something when it was working, a lot of buttons and a microphone. A wheelchair was thrown on the ground just few feet away from you. The place was giving you chills.
On your left, something like a decontamination chamber could be seen, the automatic door now being opened and not powered by the electric circuit.
"Where are we, James?" - You asked in a whisper, being really unnerved at that second. Jim didn't respond, the only thing he did was that he walked further in.
So you followed him.

HELLO , FRIENDS ! i’m b and this is my idiot child clara . a handful & the epitome of chaotic good , if you will . under the cut you’ll find a little more about who she is !! i’m super excited to get started , so if you wanna plot feel free to come find me at local sad girl#9956 or like and i’ll come to you  to figure out if IMs or discord works better!! –––––––
background.
clara leigh sloane was born in small town, louisiana to a family that lived and breathed sports. her grandpa coached college football in the sec for years, ending his career with a national championship team that included his son, clara’s father. that was the same year clara’s older brother was born, the spitting image of her father and the sloane family’s pride & joy. it was then that, choosing coaching over a professional career for the sake of his son. five years later, clara came along.
her parents were college sweethearts, and they really thought they wanted the same things. one kid couldn’t save their marriage... two kids didn’t do the trick either, and when clara was five, her mother packed her things and left, never to be heard from again.
they were a happy little trio, though! traveling every now and then for the sake of dad’s job as a high school football coach. he had quite a few national championship titles under his belt at the high school level, all of which clara watched from the sidelines.
she grew up very interested in everything her dad and brother were doing. curious in general, honestly, but this began her love of sports. specifically: football and hockey. football, from her father. hockey, from her brother.
she and her brother were just far enough apart in age to never have to cross each others paths too much, but everyone who knew cameron–– clara’s brother–– knew her as little sloane. she never minded it, just as she never minded drowning in one of his old hockey jerseys from the sidelines and learning to skate with him also on the ice. he was .. her favorite person, honestly. and he didn’t mind his kid sister being around either.
life was relatively smooth sailing. never rich, but never going hungry. never short on love in the sloane household, and never boring with two kids that had crazy colorful personalities. like these two were just.. . . goofballs and they played off of  each other’s energy like it was nothing. comedians of family thanksgiving. choreographed living room routine. idiots, rly
when she was about 13, her dad got into coaching at the college level, taking a small school to a national championship before being hired by the university of michigan to turn their football program around.
he was given two years, and he couldn’t manage it, despite coming close. around the same time cameron got a full ride to dillon for hockey, their father got hired as the defensive coordinator at dillon. thus, the whole family picked up and moved to texas.
when she was a senior in high school, and cameron was a junior in college, cam was involved in a car accident that left him brain dead. after days in the hospital and exhausting resources, clara and her father said their goodbyes and he was gone. u know that scene in if i stay?? where the grandpa is like it’s okay.. you can leave go if you have to?? p much . .. that. clara held his hand until she was dragged away
there’s a bit of a grey cloud that hangs over the sloane family since. his room hasn’t been touched. his car sits under a tarp in a shed behind the house. their father doesn’t talk about it, never did, so clara just kinda navigated that grief alone. she’s... fINE REALLY SHE’S perfectly fine
but incapable of leaving dillon, it seems, as she chose to go there to stay close to her dad and to be close to cameron
she’s always loved the sidelines and has a very stem-wired brain, so she’s going for athletic training to be an athletic trainer... of course akjdhfa in hopes of working for the nfl or the nhl... or maybe med school to be an actual team-hired doctor
personality.
like i said!! the epitome of chaotic good. she’s got big sunshine energy and big idiot energy. to give you some references from pop culture: sheryl yoast from remember the titans, harper from set it up, fucking ace from nancy drew, annabeth chase from percy jackson and fuckin honestly?? sophie turner just in general
very much ‘do no harm but take no shit’
a lot of her friendships are very surface level because she’s got this way about her that’s very optimistic, very fun, very sunshine and that’s kind of what people expect of her, so she doesn’t really let anyone see anything different than that. very few people get close to her, but those people?? she’d do anything for ... .. . lowkey she soft
stubborn! and! competitive! put them together and you have someone who hates not being immediately perfect at something. she gets frustrated with herself very very easily
very opinionated and does not hesitate to stand up for herself or others. this can kinda come off as a bit know it all sometimes, or like she’s incredibly sure of herself. she’s not. in fact, she’s.... not her own biggest fan. her older brother was golden, and losing him made her an only child in some sorts. that pressure to be perfect was now on her, and her strained relationship with her father certainly didn’t help that. nowadays he seems to be more interested in his work and getting to a head coaching spot at another university than anything else.
humor as a defense mechanism! sarcasm to deflect! this girl does it all!

“Wake Up.” (1)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Billy Hargrove x Reader x Steve Harrington (Platonic! The Party x Reader)
Summary: Y/n woke up in the middle of the road, having no idea where she is. Once she finds out where or more importantly when she is she just wants to go home or at least she did.
Warnings: language and alcohol
Word Count: 2009
A/n: (W/Y/A/F - Where you are from)
Series Masterlist
*Your POV*
‘Come on, 10 minutes left please get a move on.’ I think to myself as I look between my work and the clock. It’s nearly summer vacation and i just want to get this shithole of a year finally over with, then I'll have one more year left before I can start thinking about colleges. I look back at my best friend and she is also thinking the same thing I am, I start tapping my pen against my desk waiting impatiently as I glance up at the clock. ‘3...2...1’ the bell rang and everyone sprung from their seats and threw their papers in the air. Classic. My friend grabbed me by my arm and we ran outside and started cheering. We walked passed all the students, some are crying others are excited.
“You’re coming to the party tonight right?!” Chloe spoke as we left the school grounds, she loved a good party and its the first of summer vacation.
“Of course but please don’t let Ryan dj, his music is utter shite.” You groan just thinking about it and Chloe laughs.
“His music isn’t that bad, you just have different taste in music as him.” Chloe nudged you. “What are you going to wear?”
“I was thinking a black t-shirt my red and black tennis skirt you know the one that’s kinda tartan like? And my black denim jacket that is a few sizes bigger than me.” I say and Chloe nods. Chloe and I have similar taste in outfits but we plan in advance so we don’t end up wearing the same things.
I get home and greet my mother and father then head up to my room to get ready. I showered and got my clothes on and the next thing was my hair, I decided to have it down and straight and my makeup. I will never understand why putting on makeup feels more like a chore than fun activity so I only do the basics, eyebrows, eyeshadow, liner,  lashes and i’m done pretty much. I have 2 hours to kill before I have to meet Chloe so I can binge watch my favourite series until then.
*Different POV*
You felt your eyes start to get heavy and you still had an hour and a half till you had to leave and you were struggling to stay awake and by the time the next episode started you were out like a light.
You awoke feeling the cold nipping at your exposed skin and you instantly sat up realising you were outside. You look around at your surroundings and as far as you know you are outside on what looks like a back road in the pitch black it was a long ass road and had a lot of trees at each side it was kinda spooky. You started asking yourself how you got here cause you swore you went to sleep on your bed...Wait! you have a party to get to but you can’t get there when you have no fucking clue where you are.
You stood up and flattened your skirt down and hugged your denim jacket to keep yourself warm then two bright lights were on you and a car was speeding towards you. You froze in fear then the car slammed on its breaks and honked at you then someone came out the car and stomped towards you. You stared at the car in front of you then someone had came out shouting.
“What the fuck are you doing!? I could have ran you over!” they shouted, from what  you gathered it was a guy but he had long blonde hair and it was curly, he stomped towards you and his face came into focus. “Are you deaf or something!?” He yelled.
“Holy shit.”  You breathe as you at him, he was fucking gorgeous! His blue eyes were pretty to stare at and he had an amazing face.
“Holy shit indeed. What the fuck were you doing on the fucking road!” Jesus does this guy ever stop shouting.
“I would like to know that too. I was in my bed and I woke up lying on the ground.” You say looking around once again. “Can you tell me where the fuck I am.”
“What are you? Stupid? Dunk? High?” He scoffed and he was starting to piss you off.
“I’m not drunk yet, in fact I was supposed to be going to a party but I can't now can I? Now tell me where the fuck I am!” You yelled back at him and he smirked at you. HE FUCKING SMIRKED! Not going to lie it was damn sexy.
“Hawkins, Indiana.”
“Excuse me!? Is that even a real place?” You cross your arms glaring at him.
“You tell me, cause that’s where we are.” He said in a calm tone now, he pulled out a cigarette and lit it.
“That can’t be right ‘cause I wasn’t here  when I went to sleep.” The guy is looked at you like you were out of your mind “What am I supposed to do now? I’m far away from home and I don’t know anyone here.”
“Weren’t you on your way to a party?” the guy asked And you nodded. “Then get in the car.” he threw his cigarette down and headed to his car.
“Why?”
“We’re going to a party.”
“I don’t go anywhere with strangers especially when they nearly run me over.” You spat and he sighed in annoyance.
“Billy, Billy Hargrove and you were standing in the middle of the road Sweet cheeks.” Billy opens his car door. “Now get your ass in the car or I’ll leave you here.” You weighed your options, get in the car with Billy and possibly get murdered or be left on your own and...get murdered. You choose to go with billy and he smiles to himself and speeds off down the street.
You didn’t speak to each other, the only thing that broke the silence was the music and You were surprised that it wasn’t fucking rap music cause it’s shit. You quietly sang along to You shook me all night long.’ By AC/DC. You could see Billy occasionally looking over at you then you stopped singing along out of pure embarrassment.
“What party are you taking me to?” You ask finally, You guaranteed that you won’t know anyone there anyway.
“A douchebag called Steve’s party.” He huffs, you can already tell that he doesn’t like this Steve guy.
“Y/n.” You say, Billy looks at you puzzlingly. “My name is Y/n”
“Sweet cheeks suits you better.” He says with a smirk.
Billy pulled up at a house and got out the car and you followed suit and had a closer look at Billy he wore a red shirt that wasn’t buttoned up all the way, a black leather jacket and blue jeans.
“You better stick by me cause no doubt you’ll get lost in here.” Billy looked you up and down smiling to himself.
“What’s the ish?” You grumbled at him.
“What you’re wearing. You’re bound to get everyone’s attention.” He lit another cigarette. “I’ve never seen a girl wear what you are wearing.”
“Really? Everyone I know wears something similar.” And looked down at your clothes and followed Billy into the house and you looked at everyone. What the fuck are they wearing it was like you were in some 80’s movie.
You stayed behind Billy as he maneuvered through the crowd of people, you did get a few daggers from the girls and Wolf whistles from the guys and you were confused as hell even more now. Then you and Billy were stopped by a guy with a lot of freckles and a girl with red hair.
“Whatcha got here, Hargrove.” Freckles says looking you up and down and you look at him with a bored expression.
“Yeah Billy where’d you find her.” Red added.
“On the road.” Billy said and you rolled your eyes.
“Way to make me sound like a fucking prostitute, dick.” You glared at Billy.
“Is she good at giving head? Or a good lay in general.” Freckles laughs.
“You pervert and take that back or I’ll kick your ass.” You spat and you heard a bunch of ‘oohs’ fill the room.
“She’s got a foul mouth on her don’t she.” You scoffed and laughed to yourself. “What else does it do.” He looks down and you and you smirk.
“Talks shit about everyone and anyone.” You say in a bored manner.
“I like this one-” you walked away from Freckles and Red they were getting boring. “Hey I was talking to you!” Freckles shouted.
“Oh were you? Sorry you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kicked in.” You shrugged and went to find the kitchen. Billy looked at Tommy and Carol and laughed, he was starting to like you already.
You finally found the kitchen and there were a few people in here you tapped a guy on the shoulder and he also looked pretty handsome. ‘Damn if guys here look like this I don’t wanna leave.’
“Hey where can I get a drink around here?” You asked.
“Here you go.” He handed you a bottle of beer and he looked for a bottle opener.
“Don’t worry I got it.” You used the ring on your finger as a makeshift bottle opener and it popped off without any problems and he looked amazed at you.
“I haven’t seen you around, are you new?” He started to speak to you.
“Something like that. I’m Y/n.” You held out your hand and he shook it.
“Steve Harrington. How did you get here?”
“Oh this is your party, uh billy took me.” You answer and he didn’t look impressed.
“Your his latest fuck buddy aren’t you.” He wasn’t really asking a question.
“Nope I’m not anybody’s hoe in fact I just met him legit not that long ago.” You sipped your drink calmly. Then an arm draped over your shoulder.
“Fuck off Harrington, she’s mine.” Speak of the devil here he is, You shrugged him off.
“Oh am I? I didn’t realise excuse me while I got get your name tattooed on my forehead.” Looks like you were hiding behind sarcasm today.
“Y/n where are you from?” Steve narrowed his eyes at Billy then softened them as he looked at you.
“I’m from (w/y/a/f)” You sip your drink and he nods.
“What brings you to Hawkins?”
“This was an accident. I don’t have a clue as to how I got here I fell asleep in my bed and then I woke up on the road and nearly died by this lunatic.” You point to Billy behind you and he looked offended.
“Your fault for being on the road.”
“Well you shouldn’t be driving like a wanker then shouldn’t ya.” You raised your voice and soon the whole room was looking at you. “Sorry.” you went back to drinking your beer and everyone else went back to partying.
“Y/n, this is Nancy and Johnathan, guys this is Y/n.” Steve greeted you to two more people and you waved at them awkwardly.
“You really aren’t afraid to your mind are you, Y/n?” Nancy smiled at you, you kinda liked this girl she didn’t act like Red.
“You know how everyone’s got that voice that keeps them from saying things they shouldn’t? Well I don’t have one of those so whatever comes out of my mouth will surprise me as much as it’ll surprise you.” I shrug. “Was this an 80’s themed party or something ‘cause y’all dressed like it.”  all four of them looked at each other then back at you.
“Cause it is? It’s 1984.” Nancy spoke, furrowing her brows. You laughed and shook your head.
“No, it’s 2019.” and they all shook their heads and pointed to the calendar on the kitchen wall and your jaw hit the floor. “How the fuck did I get here then.?”

I had this whole weekend planned out without My boyfriend Steve finding out which was extremely difficult, I mean everyone knew I was with Steve’s but that didn’t seem enough for them to know he wanted everyone to think we were Siamese twins and even I started to believe it. Luckily I had One of Steve’s best friends distract him for this week so I could get everything done for this weekend. Of course I had to pay Dustin for distracting him even thought he would be at the party also but some how he convinced me to pay him for his big help in my devious plan.
It was Tuesday the last day of school and I couldn’t be more ecstatic about it, no more waking up early to tease my hair, no more stress studying, no more homework assignments and most importantly no more upside down. This summer is going to be great I just know it, as the final bell rang I quickly got out of my seat and I ran out the classroom pushing past the other obnoxious students I quickly walk to my locker when I opened it and put my text books in it my locker slammed shut making me let out a startled scream the sound of Steve’s chuckling rang into my ears making me roll my eyes and look at him.
“That was so totally not funny.” He smiled at me and grabbed my hand. “You’re right babe it wasn’t.. it was hilarious.” My smile had dropped and he wrapped an arm around me. “Awe come on I was just joking destiny.” I looked up at him and kissed his cheek. “I know you were Steve I just like give you a hard time.” We started walking down the halls I noticed Nancy and Jonathan near the doors but before I could say anything Steve was already talking to them. “Hey what are you guys doing this weekend?” They both snapped their heads towards us and looked at me and I shook my head without Steve noticing. Johnathan went to speak but Nancy cut him off. “Johnathan and I are going on a date this weekend.”
She looked up at Jonathan and smiled innocently at him, when I looked at Steve he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “All weekend?” It was Johnathans turn to Interrupt her “no but we are both pretty busy this weekend.” I saw Steve’s smile drop even more which made my heart ache, I know I shouldn’t feel bad because I told his friends lie to him but only because I love him and I want him to finally enjoy a birthday. I looked at him and pulled him along with me. “Come on Steve lets leave them alone.” He looked at me like he wanted to object but he followed anyways.
When we got to his BMW I kissed his lips, he immediately kissed back when I pulled away. When he looked down at me he wore a huge smile. “What was that for?” I looked up at him my cheeks turning a tint of light pink. “nothing.. while I have attention why don’t we go up to your lake house this weekend for your birthday.” He raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Ah Henderson you’re finally we are finally going to take our relationship to the next level?” I looked up at him and bit my lip. “Maybe, maybe not who knows.” He shrugged and walked over to my side of the car and opened the door. “Come on baby let me drive you home.” I nodded and walked over and got in the car.
He shut the door after I got in he walked around to the driver side and I popped the door open some for him. “By the way babe my mom wants you over for dinner tonight since I told her we were going up to the cabin this weekend.” He grabbed my hand and kissed it. “Alright how does 7 sound?” I think for a moment and nod. “It sounds perfect.” I held his hand and I looked out the window while he sang to some song on the radio. I kinda started getting nervous about dinner tonight I mean my mother had a love hate relationship with him especially since he started dating me. I mean I was her only daughter so that was a given.
As soon as he stopped in front of my house he gave me a quick kiss to my neck and I giggled. “Steve that isn’t my cheek.” He pulled away and smiled lovingly at me and grabbed my hand. “I know but I just wanted to kiss you.” I smiled and I grabbed my backpack. “well thank you if you wanted a kiss you should have ask I’ll never denie the king of Hawkins high a kiss.” I say in a honored manner as I start playfully worshipping him, he chuckled at me and shook his head a smile prominent on his face. “oh hush destiny that’s not the kind of worship I want.” He smirked and I let out a gasp. “You’re such a perv.” He laughs and I open the car door and I go to get put when he grabs my wrist.
“Wait destiny.” I turned and look at him. “Yes baby?” He smiled and leaned over. “I want another kiss before you go.” I playfully scold him. “If you want to come get me at 7 I have to go clean up and stuff or my mother won’t let me go.” He pouts and groans. “B-but destiny I want your lovin’.” I giggle at him and slap his hand playfully. “You always get my lovin’ harrington.” He smiled at me and I got out of his car and walked towards my house when I got on the porch I turned and waved at him he waved back and blew me a kiss, then he started to drive off I watch his car until he was out of sight. I laid against my door and I sighed contently. “God I loved him.” I walked in the door and I yelled out.
“Mom, Dustin I’m home.” I walked into the kitchen and saw my mother cleaning. “Hey mom Steve and I have a date at 7, but don’t worry We are still on for our cleaning party.” She turned and smiled at me. “Alright honey where are you guys going?” I looked at her and shrugged. “Don’t know Steve wants to keep it a secret so I honestly don’t know.” She smiled at me and put some started getting stuff out for dinner. “He loves you cupcake.” I smiled at some one else besides myself hearing it. “I love him to momma.” She put the cans down and sat at the kitchen table and she told me to sit down so I did. “Baby you’re at the age now where-.” I quickly cut her off. “Mom as much as I love you I don’t need the sex talk.”
She smiled at me and laughed. “No, no honey that’s not what I was going to tell you.” I nodded my head and waited for her to continue. “Love comes once a life more than once if you’re lucky, so I’ve heard from a little birdie that y’all have told each other that you love each other.” My cheeks turned red at her calling me out then it hit me. “Mom was the birdie curly haired and super nosy?” She chuckled and I made a mental note to kill him later. “Anyways honey what I’m getting at is don’t let him slip away if you love him, tell him don’t wait until it’s too late.” I nodded then I noticed the clock and it said five o’clock I stood up and smiled. “well mom I have to go get ready thank you for that, I’ll tell him I promise.”
I walked upstairs and I quickly rushed to my closet pulling out a miniskirt and some fishnets and a shirt that hung off my shoulder and I slipped on my pair of wooden heels and I tease my hair and spay a shit ton of hair spray in it. I put on a pink strawberry lip gloss and I put my earrings in and I looked at myself and fixed my leather mini skirt and I threw a leather jacket over it loving what I saw in the mirror. I grabbed a pink bow to match my shirt and I put it in my hair then walking downstairs. “Destiny Henderson go upstairs and change that skirt now.” I turned and looked at my mom. “Momma come on this skirt is rad and it’s the summer time mom the time to look lame ended as soon as school did.”
She scoffed and shook her head. “Destiny you shouldn’t change the way you dress for some guy.” I scoffed and looked at her. “I’m not changing the way I dress for Steve I just wanted to try something new, I have a job and if I want a miniskirt that’s what I’m going to get.” There was a knock at the door and she huffed and rolled her eyes. “Enjoy you’re date we will talk about this later.” I rolled my eyes and threw open my front door and Steve tensed up and I walked out and slammed the door shut making him eye me. “Hey babe are you okay?” I shook my head and I walked down my steps. “No I’m not Steve I put on a fucking miniskirt and all of a sudden I’m a slut.” I could feel his eyes on me as I walked to his BMW and got in it. “Steve lets go.” I huffed and let down the sun visor and looked at myself in the mirror adjusting my hair.
He quickly got in and looked at me. “I mean I think you look great but the skirt is kind of short.” I looked over at him dumbfounded he noticed immediately the look on my face and he sighed then crunk up the car. “Babe you know I’m not implying you’re a slut I just think if you’re mother doesn’t like what you wear you should respect her and not wear it.” I let out a sarcastic laugh. “Oh really? Okay well how about since you’re dad wants you to go to this high end college then you do it.” He stayed silent and regret immediately took over the anger inside me. “S-Steve I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that.” He stayed silent for most of the car ride when we arrived at the place we went on our first date I looked at him. He softly smiled at me and got out the car, I quickly followed him.
“Steve please say something, anything I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to say that I was just upset.” I grabbed his hand and I kissed it, the kiss lingering basically begging him to say something, anything. He looked at me and kissed the side of my lip. “Destiny I’m not upset, I was hurt but I’m okay I forgive you.” I smiled up at him and kissed his lips the. I pulled away. “Good cause I don’t want you to ever leave me.” I smiled as we entered the restaurant and sat at the table. The waitress who just so happened to be nora flowers a girl who use to be Tommy H’s girlfriend back in middle school, before he even got with carol. I smirked at her when our eyes met and they widen.
“Oh my god Henderson is that you? You look different.” Steve raised an eyebrow at me and I look at him and smile. “Babe this is nora flowers from middle school she use to date Tommy before he met carol.” As soon as I said that it clicked with him. “Didn’t she say you’d never be popular?” I nodded and I looked at the menu. “I want a cheeseburger and a chocolate shake.” Steve looked at his and smiled. “I want the same but we are gonna share a shake.” I smiled at her and handed her the menus. She walks away and puts in our order and I laughed. “Steve I wasn’t going to bring that up, why did you?” He smiled at me and grabbed my hand. “Cause you’re a total babe and you are popular and everything she said you wouldn’t be.” My cheeks heated up and I hid my face.
“I love you Steve Harrington.” His face froze and then he smiled brightly at me. “I love you more destiny Henderson.” I leaned over the table and kissed his lips. We spend most of the time talking and eating until Steve decided it would be funny to put some milkshake on my nose which made me smear it on his face and he repeated the action now it sliding down my face. He wiped his face and then he wiped mine and he gasped. “Destiny you still have some on you.” I started dabbing my face with the napkin and asked where. He smiled and leaned over the table and kissed my lips. “I think I got it.” I slapped his arm and laughed. Steve you’re such a dork.” He smiled and kissed me again, when he pulled back we were both breathless. “Yeah but I’m your dork.”
*Time skip*
The next few days had been cool just relaxing not having to worry about any upside down stuff or anything really, the weekend was finally rolling around and everything was in place. Steve was coming to my house to get me any minute, I had already asked my mother two days ago if I could go to the cabin with Steve at first she said no because she thought it was just going to be him and I but I quickly had to tell her my plan and then she finally gave in. I had a weekend bag packed and I walk downstairs with it, waiting for Steve to get here I fixed myself a glass of lemonade. I had helped my mother clean up so she wouldn’t have to because I knew she had to work this weekend.
I was taking the trash out and I saw his black BMW pull onto my street making my smile brighten and I quickly throw the bag of trash into the trash can and I ran inside and got my weekend bag and before I could get back out the door my mother pulled me into a hug and kissed my cheek. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do destiny.” I laughed and nodded my head “alright mom, I’ll see next Monday.” She raised an eyebrow. “I thought you said the weekend?” I looked at her and smiled. “Mom it’s the summer every day is the weekend.” She laughed and ruffled my hair. “Have fun destiny.” I smiled and hugged her again. “Will do mom see you next week.” She walked back into the kitchen while I walked out the front door and met Steve halfway in our drive way and I quickly jumped into his car.
He slowly backed out of my driveway and put his hand on my thigh. “I was surprised that you wanted to come up to my cabin all alone this week.” I smiled to myself and I looked at him. “Why were you so surprised?” He smiled and wiggles his eyebrows. “I think you know why hot stuff, just you and I in our bathing suits that’s begging for trouble.” I smirked then I felt his hand travel up my leg and I bit my lip. “Steve come on not right now you gotta focus on driving.” I groaned. “Come on babe you can expect me not to try something with you dressed like that.” I looked down at my summer dress that hugged my figure and I blushed. “I’m g-glad you like it.” It was turn to bite his lip and looked at me when we stopped at a stop sign. “You could wear a potato sack and I’d be ready to jump your bones destiny.”
I felt my cheeks heat up even more then he looks at me as he continues to drive his eyes on the road then me. “Destiny I wanna hear you sing.” I smile and I shake my head. “Oh no, no, no Steve I’m not singing I’m not any good.” He rolled his eyes. “Oh whatever you have the voice of an angel.” I smile and he opens the dashboard and pulls out the mix tape I made him and my eyes widen and I shake my head. “Steve I’m being serious I don’t wanna sing.” He slid through mix tape and placed his hand back on my thigh and the first song started. “Fine but I’m only singing this once and no other okay.” He nodded and waited for me to start singing. I started tapping my hand along to the beat of should’ve been me by Tiffany and I start singing along with the song.
the song was hard to get theoug because every so often he would slide his hand up and down my thigh, his fingers softly touched my panties and I grabbed his hand when it did. When the song was over He turned down the radio as Madonna came on so he could hear me better. We pulled onto the road his cabin was off of then we arrived at the only cabins around right near the lake and when he switched his car off he jumped out and ran over to my side and opened my door and picked me up bridal style causing me to let out a squeal, then he carried me inside. When he put me down he started kissing me hungrily. He slipped off my jacket along with his and I tried to get him to stop but he wouldn’t so everyone jump out. “SURPRISE SETVE!” Everyone jumped out and yelled but then they immediately got quite because he had his hand up my dress on my ass.
Steve jumped back and put his hand on his chest and I bit my bottom lip both of our faces heating up he looked at them then at me. “What the fuck are you guys doing here?” They all looked at me and I looked down embarrassed because everyone basically seen my pink underwear. He walked over to me and put his finger under my chin and made me look up at him. “Babe what’s going on?” I bit my lip and looked him in his beautiful brown doe eyes. “W-we-well it’s your birthday so I-I wanted to do something nice for you, so I invited them u-up here for tonight.” At first his face was unreadable which made my heart drop to my feet then his beautiful smile appeared on his face.
“All this for me babe?” I nodded my head and pecked his lips. “We got cake and everything.” He smiled and looked at everyone when Dustin blurted out. “Three things one it was all destinys idea, two if I ever see you touch my sisters ass again I’ll beat your ass and three, happy birthday.” He smiled and steve joined everyone and Nancy walked over to me. “So destiny have anything special planned tonight?” She smirked and nudged me. I blushed and let out a loud laugh, we all had dinner which I cooked exceptionally well and then we had cake and ice cream. Everyone sat around the couch and gave Steve his presents and he looked up at everyone and smiled. “Ah now come on guys you didn’t have to get me anything.” Dustin up before anyone could tell Steve to shut up. “ I mean I can always take my gift back.” I smiled at Dustin and Steve opened his presents one by one everyone left with Johnathan and Nancy.
I was in the kitchen Steve was outside smoking a cigarette and I went out there and joined him “hey babe.” I smiled and took the cigarette from his mouth and too a hit from it, he smiled and started kissing my neck. “Hey babe, thanks for everything it means a lot even though I don’t really like birthdays.” I smiled and moved my neck to the side. “It was my honor birthday boy.” He chuckled against my neck and picked me up and I laughed and looked up at him wrapping my arm around his neck. “Where are we going?” He looked down at me and bit my bottom lip then pulled away making a pop noise fill my ears. “It’s a dirty surprise.” I giggle and we spent the whole night celebrating his birthday.
A/N: thank you guys for reading it my fic, I hope you guys like it. I have an angst coming out soon. Just keep an eye out. ❤️ destiny

Democratic debate analysis
I’ve read the transcripts.  I read the fact-checkers’ analysis.  I have ranked them.
Due to the size of the field, I’ll be splitting my analysis into four groups.  This first one will be the Please Do Not Make Me Vote For Them group:
Ryan, Hickenlooper, Williamson, Bennet, Delaney, O’Rourke, and Biden.
Under the break, I’ll be analyzing their debate performance, how effectively they represented themselves on the issues, and how much I hate them, in reverse order of preference. Let’s begin.
20) Biden
Biden is so… so out of touch.  Even the moderators asked if he was out of touch, and when the moderators of a debate you’re participating in think you don’t know what you’re talking about?  For a career politician, that has got to hurt.  Frankly, they were right.  Biden thinks that the reason people can’t pay their student loans without sacrificing everything else they want to do with their lives is because we’re not earning more than $25k a year, that freezing payments and interest until the graduated student crosses that threshold would magically make everything ok.  If he were right, there’d be no Fight for 15.  A $15 minimum wage, assuming full time hours, is more than $30k per year.
His response to accusations of racism was to point to his “black friend,” former President Obama, which… dude.  You’ve got to know better than that by now.  Please tell me you know having been the first and only black President’s VP does not immediately absolve you of being an old white guy who worked with Southern Segregationists against integrating schools.
His entire platform seems to be “remember when I was a senator/the vice president?  Wasn’t I great, back when I had ideas and did things?” and I gotta say, No.  No, you weren’t that great, Joe.  Even his closing comments were lackluster, talking about “restoring the soul of America,” and “restoring the dignity of the middle class,” and “building national unity.”  His answers to simple questions were, frankly, terrible.
Joe, what would you do, day one, if you knew you’d only be able to accomplish one thing with your Presidency?  Thanks for asking, I’d BEAT DONALD TRUMP!  Joe.  Joe, that’s how you get to Day One.  Unless you mean “grab him by the collar, haul him out on the White House lawn, and bludgeon him with heavy objects,” you’re not answering the question.   Joe, which one country do you think we need to repair diplomatic ties with most?  NATO!  Joe.  Joe, NATO is more than one country.  I just… *sigh*
To his credit, Biden trotted out many of the same old campaign promises Democrats have been making for as long as I can remember.  Closing tax loopholes, universal pre-K and increased educational funding, let Medicare negotiate prescription drug prices.  These are tried and true campaign promises because they’re things we can all generally agree we want.  But they’re old, a lot like Biden.  They’re not the bold solutions we need.  His newer ideas all sound pretty moderate and old, too: free community college (not 4 year public university), creating a public option for healthcare so people can choose between insurance companies and Medicare, rejoining the Paris Climate Accord, and instituting national gun buybacks.  His suggestion of requiring all guns to have a biometric safety is also a vague gesture in the direction of a solution.
Biden is too old, too timid, and too arrogant to understand that he’s got nothing to offer in an election where Millenials and Gen Z are going to be the largest portion of the electorate.
19) O’Rourke
Beto, or as I like to call him, Captain Wrongerpants, got off to a roaring start by giving a non-answer in two languages.  This incredible display of pandering, and wasting precious time, made him seem pretentious and obnoxious in twice the number of languages most politicians aspire to.
Possibly more than any other candidate, O’Rourke completely failed to answer any question he was asked.  He presented a few good ideas, saying that he sees climate change as the most pressing threat to America and calling for an end to fossil fuel use.  He supports universal background checks and reinstating the assault weapons ban.  He wants comprehensive immigration reform, to reunite families separated by the Trump administration, and to increase the corporate tax rate.
Unfortunately, he wants to increase the tax rate from the new-for-2019 level of 21% to a lower-than-2018 28%.  He wants immigration reform to protect asylum seekers, but thinks other immigrants should “follow our laws” and makes no guarantee to decriminalize undocumented border crossings.  Like Biden, he supports healthcare “choice,” meaning that for-profit healthcare would continue in this country until everyone, in every city, state, county, and cave, can be convinced that insurance companies don’t care about them.
In short, O’Rourke reaches for relevance and relatability, and lands in pretension and centrism.
18) Delaney
John Delaney is the first candidate on my list to have been caught in a bald-faced lie by Politifact. Good job, John.  His lie, by the way, was about Medicare for All.  He claimed that the bill currently before Congress required that Medicare pay rates stay at the current levels, and that if every hospital in America had been paid at Medicare levels for all services, every hospital would have to close.  The truth?  The Medicare for All bill does not require that pay rates stay at current levels, and even if it did no one knows what effect that would have on the country’s hospitals.  There is no data to support his assertion, even if he was right about the terms of the legislation being considered.
Unsurprisingly, John is another healthcare “choice” advocate.  I think I’ve said enough about why this position doesn’t fly for me, so I won’t rehash it again.
In a discussion of family separation, he interjected that his grandfather was also a victim of family separation, which must make him feel so relevant.  He also referred to company owners as “job creators,” a lovely little conservative talking point, and claimed that America “saved the world,” in some vague appeal to American Exceptionalism.  He also agrees with Nancy Pelosi about not pursuing impeachment proceedings.
On the “I don’t hate him quite as much as Beto and Biden” front, he’s in favor of tax breaks for the middle class, increasing the minimum wage, funding education, family leave policies, a carbon tax (which he imagines would fund a tax dividend paid to individual citizens, rather than, I don’t know, paying for green infrastructure development?), thinks China is our biggest geopolitical threat, and is scared of nuclear weapons (a very sane, reasonable position, really).
If you want to pick a candidate based on who your moderately conservative uncle will yell about least if they win the White House, Delaney might be your guy.  If you want to pick a candidate based on issues like student loan debt and healthcare, keep looking.
17) Bennet
I had never heard of Michael Bennet before the debates.  In fact, I just Googled him to find out his first name.  After the debates, though?  You guessed it: I hate him.
His closing statement was an appeal to the American Dream.  He thinks there are too many people in America to make a single payer healthcare system work.  Asked to identify one country to prioritize diplomatic repairs with, he named two continents.  And he believes the world is looking to America for leadership.
However, he did rate higher than three whole candidates, and here’s why: He supports a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.  He wants to end gerrymandering and overturn Citizens United.  He wants to expand voting rights and electoral accessibility. He considers climate change and Russia to be the biggest threats to America, and he didn’t use any obvious racist dogwhistles.  He’s from Colorado, so he’s kinda proud of the state’s marijuana legalization and reproductive health policies, but he’s way too quick to see partnership with private businesses as the ideal path forward.
16) Williamson
Oh man.  Marianne Williamson.  I almost threw something every time she opened her mouth.  She is like a walking, talking, uninformed Tumblr guilt trip post.  At a nationally televised debate, she asked why no one was talking about… something. I didn’t write it down in my notes because I would have had to gouge out my own eyes if I had.  According to Google, she is a self-help speaker and that explains So Much.
In her closing statement, Williamson claimed that she would be the candidate to beat Trump, not because she has any plans, but because she will harness love to counter the fear that fuels Trump’s campaign.  I am not making this up and I wish I was.
She claimed that Americans have more chronic health issues than anywhere else in the world, and attributed this to all sorts of factors, starting with diet and chemical contamination and extending, I assume, to solar activity and Bigfoot.  According to Politifact, the only American demographic with a higher incidence of chronic illness than other countries is senior citizens, and I’m going to guess that has a lot more to do with our crappy healthcare system than it does a lack of detox teas.
When asked what policy she would enact if she could only get one, she said that on her first day in the White House she’d call the Prime Minister of New Zealand and tell her that New Zealand is not the best place in the world to raise a child, America is.
When asked which one country she’d make a diplomatic priority, she said “European leaders.”
By now you must be wondering how she rated higher than the bottom four, and I can sum it up in eight words: She supports reparations and the Green New Deal.
Please, please do not make me vote for Marianne Williamson.
15) Hickenlooper
John Hickenlooper is the former Governor of Colorado, and proudly takes credit for everything good that has ever happened in the state.  He is also proud of being a small business owner, a statement that makes me immediately suspicious of any politician.
To his credit, he supports “police diversity,” a charmingly non-specific term that could mean one gay Latine nonbinary single parent in an otherwise entirely white male department, or could mean he wants the demographics of the police force to match the demographics of the population being policed.  He also considers climate change a serious threat, and China.  The best thing he said all night?  He supports civilian oversight of police, a policy which has improved police relations with citizens.
Sounds pretty good, right? Wrong.
He also supports ICE “reform,” as if there is anything redeemable about that agency, and thinks that the worst thing the eventual Democratic candidate could do is allow their name to be connected to anything socialist.  He said it twice, it wasn’t an accident.
14) Ryan
That brings us to the last of the worst, Tim Ryan.  Tim here cannot stop using conservative dogwhistles, like talking about “coastal elites,” and saying that acknowledging differences between people is divisive.  He is a basic ass white boy in the worst, most boring sense.
He wants to bring about a green tech boom, supports decriminalizing border crossing, supports gun reform, and thinks China is a serious threat to America.  He also thinks that, in addition to dealing with the issues that allow school shootings to happen, we need to address the trauma kids are growing up with as a result.  Unfortunately, he thinks that school shooters are misunderstood victims of bullying.
His confrontation with Tulsi Gabbard was very instructive and possibly the most damning exchange all night.  He mis-identified the terrorists who attacked the World Trade Center as being “the Taliban” (they were Al-Qaeda) and said that our military forces have to “stay engaged” for… stability?  I guess? As a veteran, I’m with Tulsi on this one: that’s not acceptable.

Tumblr media
You just stood there, silent. It seemed so unreal, the school year was over and you were finally leaving for college. Indiana was a nice place, you liked it even though it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. Throughout the years you had made many friends…okay, maybe not that many, but enough of them nonetheless. Steve Harrington quickly coming to mind. He had been a bit of an asshole at the start, but after Nancy something had changed…he was…nicer, more caring, softer, even. After he broke up with Nancy you two had become very close. With her not being there to help him out with school work, you happily took over. You spent most of your free time together, either studying together after class or just hanging out, sometimes even Dustin would tag along. And today was it. The last day you would see him, before it all ended. You couldn’t lie to yourself, you were bitter about it. You couldn’t bring yourself to accept that you weren’t going to see him in a long time, you also couldn’t brush off the feelings you so strongly felt for him, even though you had tried very hard. It was stupid, you thought, he was obviously still hung up on Nancy, why should I even try? should I even tell him? At least going to college meant you didn’t have to try so hard to hide your feelings.  You had set up to meet outside of school at six that day, but he was late of course, so here you were staring at the entrance remembering everything from the last few years, feeling melancholic and nostalgic, not wanting to leave but also  wanting to get up and runaway as fast as you could, all at the same time. You kept thinking about Steve, about how much you liked him, maybe you should tell him how you feel. After about ten or fifteen minutes you heard a soft voice. “Hey” Steve said, almost in a whisper, “I’m sorry I’m late” you could hear the guilt in his quavering voice. “Don’t worry about it” you whispered back. He was standing so close to you, it made your hands shake. “I-I brought something for you, so you remember me” the tone in his voice changed, it sounded more confident than before but it was still a whisper. He took out something from his pocket: a pendant. It was shaped like a drop made out of shiny silver and it had a blue stone in the center, it was absolutely beautiful. “Oh, Steve, you didn’t have to” your breath hitched a little bit. “But I wanted to, so that you don’t forget about me even when you are in a fancy college surrounded by fancy people” he ended with a smirk and you laughed at the description. “Besides, it’s been in my family for a long time so I didn’t have to spend a single penny” he said jokingly with a wink. You just rolled your eyes with a smile and slapped his arm gently. You stared at each other for a moment, silence filling the air. After a minute or two he finally said “Come on, let’s go.” He stretched out his hand for you to take, which you happily did and pulled you towards his car. You both went to a lot of places, starting with the park. You later caught up with Dustin and the rest of the kiddos at the arcade and then somehow ended at a house party, but, alas, all good things must come to an end. “S-Steve…” you said with a bit of hurt, you were having so much fun and you were about to end it. “It’s time for me to go, I’m sorry…” the sparkle in his eye faded as he slowly said “Yeah…I know…” silence. “Come on, I’ll take you home.” The ride back home was cold and silent. After all this time and you had nothing to say, not a single word. After what seemed like forever you finally got to your house. You were about to open the door to step out and leave the car when he said “wait…I-uh…” you looked back at him, confused. “Let me-” he signaled to the pendant in your pocket. “I meant to do it earlier but we were so caught up in the moment that I just forgot.” You gave him a sad smile and nodded, reaching for the pendant in your pocket. After he fixed the pendant to your neck there was yet another moment of silence filled with tension and sorrow. You don’t know what took over you, maybe it was the booze from the party or maybe it was the thought of never seeing him again, but nonetheless you leaned in without thinking too much about it and kissed him gently on the lips. Steve was shocked at first but later responded the kiss, making you feel a wave of relief, after all you didn’t think he liked you back, and you were right, he didn’t like you…he- “I have to leave now” you whispered after breaking the kiss. “Yes, you do, I know” he whispered back, rubbing your cheek with one of his thumbs and wiping away the tear that had slipped from your eye. “I’ll write to you, yeah? I can’t even write a fucking essay, but I’ll write to you everyday, I promise.” You placed your forehead againts his and nodded “I’ll write to you too” you whispered, tears now running like a river on your face. You broke the contact and turned to the door with your hands shaking but you were stopped by Steve once again. He pulled on your arm. “I-I…I love you. There, I said it…oh god, I actually said it” he nervously confessed. “I love you, IloveyouIloveyouIloveyou, please don’t go, I love you so much, please” his word were rushed and desperate, almost like a mumble. You took his face now wet from tears in both of your hands, forcing him to look at you straight in the eyes. “I love you too, Steve. I’ll never leave you, even if I’m far away.”
I kinda hate it and I kinda love it hehe, sorry if it sucked. :((( always open!

Mike's Family
This is my first Sing fanfic so I hope you all enjoy it!
I want to thank all my friends on the Sing chat on Discord for inspiring and helping me make this possible! Thanks guys. You’re the best! 😀🌟
Mike’s Family
If you asked Mike nearly a year ago about his family, he’d tell you to buzz off.
His birth mother died when he was a kid and he only saw his birth dad a couple times a year since he left home 6 years ago. So family was a sore spot for him.
So what’s the difference between then and now? Well everyday he gets to wake up and be with his new family.
He has two little sisters. One sister is really shy and timid despite her large build. But is probably the greatest singer he knows! After himself of course. She also makes the best cakes and pies he knows(Her strawberry cheesecake, especially, is to die for) and always shares with everyone. He’s always careful with what he says around her as she’s so sensitive..... Usually. There have been incidents where he has lost patience with her or laughed when she made a mistake but usually makes amends before she gets too upset.
His other little sister is a bit tougher. With black boots and lots of spines, she’s the poster child of the phrase “rocker chick”…. or “Guttersnipe” as he likes to refer her to. While they often squabble and disagree on almost everything daily, he wouldn’t trade her for anything. But he’ll carry that to his grave before he admits that! He does like the rare times they team up. Like April 1st. Between her love for pranks and his love for the humiliation of others, it was a fun day. For them. Not so much everyone else. It resulted in a harsh lecture from the boss and cleaning up any messes made that day but they’ll always cherish “Prankmageddon”
He has a little brother who like him has a rocky past but unlike him, it hasn’t made him jaded to the world. The young gorilla was kinda like his sister in being innocent and sweet but more likely to speak his mind about what he believes in. In all honesty, he’s always wanted a younger brother to teach about girlfriends, card games and how to cheat without getting caught. He knows that the young gorilla isn’t usually paying attention when he is sharing advice(usually thinking about a certain female porcupine) but he pretends not to notice. He is however jealous of the leather jacket. Younger brothers aren’t supposed to be cooler than older brothers! It’s a rule!
He also has a big brother. He seems chilled and somewhat lazy…. And he sometimes is, but he always comes and gives 100% on helping out so everyone’s shows are a success. He’s a good listener and is usually the go-to guy if you need to vent about something. No matter what is said, the calm sheep never gets angry. At least not visibly. Sometimes big bro brings his N64 and they play Mario Kart or the original Smash Bros the rest of the family. They're both competitive beings so playing together gets intense really fast. The sheep is pretty cool but one thing he would change is maybe not catching him making out with the boss….. repeatedly….. At least it makes good blackmail!
His uncle is unique in every way. Flamboyant, eccentric and kinda ditzy. That would usually annoy him but he sometimes lets it slide as that’s how the pig works. The flamboyant pig brings a special energy to the Theatre which just makes everyone upbeat and work harder. Always giving out uplifting words of encouragement…… Even if you can’t always understand what he’s saying. He’s also a great costume maker. He once made Mike a gold suit and honestly, he was ready to hate it but it just looked great on him… (As it should). Nobody has ever made anything for him by hand. He now treasures the suit.
His Nonna is an odd woman. She has a glass eye which is just plain creepy honestly. She’s usually forgetful and makes mistakes but is overall a sweet old lady. She’s always telling stories about her past experiences. Some of the stories don’t make sense but he listens intently. Mike never knew his birth grandparents so this is all new to him. The elderly lizard makes great coffee when she remembers not to drink it…. or doesn’t drop her eye in it. But the best thing about her as far as Mike is concerned, is that she’s also a Sinatra fan. She’s even been to his live performances when he was alive! And has a signature from him.
Then there’s mom. She’s a kindly pig who is a motherly figure to all, which was needed all things considered. Someone to care about everyone and show unconditional love. Mike admires her non stop patience and compassion. Especially since she has 25 piglets at home so it’s really sweet she’d be a mom to people she doesn’t fully know. She’s also quite firm. She’s always making sure the youngest performers are doing their college work and that everyone gets along. She also has this scary “Mom Glare” that Mike has seen a few more times than he would have cared for when he’s gone over the top with insults or got caught in a lie. All in all, the female pig is nice yet firm when needed. And also makes a great cheesy lasagne.
Dad….. Oh dad. Despite only being 7 years older than Mike, he considers his boss a somewhat father figure. From day one he’s noticed his amazing voice and natural charm which is more than anyone else did in the last few years. He’s always cheering everyone on making sure they do their best. He’s tender with the younger ones and is ever so patient with everyone. He is sometimes embarrassing though. He’s usually caught singing and dancing along to the cheesiest pop songs in history! And just last week he tried dabbing! Everyone groaned! Honestly…. the koala is amazing. Silly, crafty, funny, loyal and full of love and pride.
Then there’s his beloved Nancy. His light. His sweetheart. The girl he hopes to one day bend down on one knee to and make him a honest mouse. What started as a fling turned into true love. She saved him from being Bear food, hid out with him in Hawaii for almost 2 months and convinced him to make things right with everyone at the theatre. He wouldn’t be here now without her and he’s eternally grateful for that. Nancy may seem dainty and vain but she’s really smart and down to earth. She’s also not afraid to keep Mike in line. Usually with a good twist of his ear if she catches him being particularly rude….. Which is often…… But she does it to make him a better mouse.
When Mike thinks about it, he thinks it’s sort of odd how his family cane together. They were initially brought together with desire for potential fame and $100,000 and nothing more (We’ll for him at least). They were strangers at first and he didn’t care for them. It was the prospect of never seeing them again by either death or being thousands of miles away that started to open his heart. He was expecting them to turn him away when he returned from Hawaii and wouldn’t blame him. It was kinda his fault that the Theatre flooded and Buster almost lost everything. Not to mention as far as everyone knew, he just disappeared half way through Meena’s song. He doesn’t show it but he’s so grateful they gave him another chance.
“Mike? Mike!”
His musings were interrupted by a sharp yell!
“Mike. Are you ready to practice for the show next week?” “Oh! Oh sure, Mr. Moon. I’m coming. I shouldn’t keep my natural talent to myself anyway.”
As he walks up to the stage he sees his family mostly ready and waiting.
“Took you long enough you Cranky Crooner. I was almost expecting a quiet day” “Up yours, Spines! You know you love me” “As if!” “Alright! Let’s not start another argument” the Koala intervenes “We have a lot to work to do so let’s get started. And please get along today” “No promises” the porcupine and mouse both said at the same time… And then both burst out laughing
That was a typical morning for Mike. Getting into a small fight with the porcupine and then the Koala or the motherly pig having to break it up. Then they work hard until lunch when someone usually brings in a treat and they usually share stories. Then more practice for shows, maybe do something for the Theatre Blog then get into another argument with the porcupine or someone else then call it a day to return to his beloved.
It’s predictable, mundane and gets into dumb fights with teens who don’t know real music!
But he wouldn’t trade it for anything!
