Is it possible for you to make a harem/poly main 6 that got infected with the Virus and they are all yandere for the Darling now? As in a general concept of how it happened and how it's going basically if you can, thank you!

This deals with a lot of characters so it will be a general overview. Sorry it isn't long... I struggle with multiple characters.

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Possessive behavior, Yandere virus, Feral/Animalistic behavior, Overprotective behavior, Mind break, Dark themes, Forced relationship(s) implied.

This concept is essentially a recap/aftermath concept.

By this time the Mane Six are infected, Rarity eventually succumbing just like the rest of them.

So now you have six overprotective/possessive ponies surrounding you wherever you go.

I imagine they originally fight with one another, assuming one is going to hurt you.

We've seen something similar in the Rainbow and Pinkie concepts.

Although... eventually they realize they all like you just as much.

They vaguely know it's due to the virus but they can barely focus on anything else right now.

The virus drives them all closer to you... so to soothe all their desperation, they agree to share.

We see this in the Cadance concept which was meant as a loose continuation.

They're like a pack, six infected ponies all animalistic in nature.

They aren't like themselves anymore.

They've neglected themselves... They're nearly feral...

By the conclusion of this curse, Ponyville is a messy wasteland.

Twilight is barely even able to comprehend what she's done... She wanted you all to herself...

This isn't your fault...

This is hers.

However... Even with her personal feelings and the virus flooding her system... She doesn't mind sharing.

If Twilight were to share her beloved with anypony, it would be the Mane Six.

They... sorta have their same hobbies.

Twilight speaks to you of spells she's reading, you silently hope she's looking for a cure but you doubt it.

Fluttershy takes you on walks through the woods, although the animals keep running from the both of you....

Applejack and Pinkie Pie both try to make you food to care for you.

Rainbow Dash acts as a bodyguard, racing around to make sure no pony gets any ideas.

All while Rarity makes you little outfits like usual.

They all love you, they all play their part...

But you don't see them as your friends anymore.

By the end of this journey you're exhausted, you've given up.

You've accepted the fact you're a Harbinger of obsession and disease.

You want to resent Twilight... But you can't hate all of them.

Twilight may have caused it... Yet you made it worse.

Perhaps this is what you deserve.

To be surrounded by destruction and the obsessive desires of your friends.

You don’t consider them friends... Or anything more.

You want this all to end but wherever you go... The curse follows.

You feel tethered to Ponyville.

After all... If you don't stay here, you'll only cause more trouble.

You tolerate it... Even though you hate it...

You want other ponies safe... So you listen and stay away from other ponies.

You stay with the Mane Six...

They'll take care of you... They care.

You're given love, affection, all of it... even if it's artificially sweet.

You accept your fate... which is why fear pools in your stomach when you see a certain pink alicorn enter Ponyville.

For the sake of not only you... But the rest of Equestria... You do not need to be saved.

I’ve had this series idea in my head for a while now! I have a lot to say about it, but I’ll focus on characters here, since I’ve changed quite a bit in the plot department compared to the original show.

Twilight Sparkle

Wants to become an alicorn more than anything

Will do anything the Princess says for a chance at becoming one

Given immortality as a reward for her loyalty

Very important in Canterlot because of her connection to the Princess

The Princess is the only authority she respects 

Doesn’t want to be in Ponyville

Very similar to other abridged series versions

Spike the dragon

Twilight and Spike are friends and enjoy each others company

Spike keeps Twilight somewhat grounded

I have a lot of ideas for these characters! I even have ideas for character progression, where the annoyance the characters feel for each other turns to friendship.

The name I have currently for this project is: The Alicorns Abridged Series or AAS Since so much of the plot is around becoming an alicorn or about the alicorns. But I might change the name in the future we'll see

Princess celestia and princess twilight sparkle size comparison:

This ask actually inspired me to make a height chart of all the occurring characters in the Blueberry storyline thus far (minus Celestia).

I also will be leaving information about each character down below for anyone to check out!

Princess Celestia - I do not plan to have Celestia appear in the blog for several reasons. Firstly, the Blueberry story is set 70+ years in the future after FIM. Therefore both Celestia and Luna are retired and not really in the picture anymore. Secondly, I really only included her in the post because it was in the ask and thirdly, I figured it would be good to put her in there for a true size comparison of all the characters.

Princess Twilight Sparkle - Princess Twilight has grown into her role as the Princess of Friendship. She lives in Canterlot but she still frequently visits Ponyville to see the monument of her and her friends. A couple years after Twilight moved to Canterlot, the Tree of Harmony (along with the Elements of Harmony) disappeared. Her quest since has been to find out what happened to them and where they will reappear next.

Treasured Hope - Treasured Hope is a long-time resident of Canterlot, having grown up there herself. She always had a talent for finding the good in other ponies and helping them out when they were in a tough spot. That is how she gained her cutie mark, at age 9 no less! When she noticed the population of orphans rising, she decided to open an orphanage, which has been very successful. Treasured Hope does everything in her power to bring out the best in the fillies and colts in her care with her nurturing nature, patience and gentle voice.

Blackberry - Blackberry has been at the orphanage since she was two years old, she doesn't really remember her parents. Growing up in a safe and secure environment thanks to Treasured Hope, she quickly grew comfortable. Maybe a little too comfortable. Blackberry is a drama queen, she always wants to be the centre of attention and she had been until Blueberry arrived. Blackberry doesn't actually hate blank flanks, it actually has nothing to do with blank flanks, Blackberry has simply always been envious of Blueberry. It doesn't mean how she treats other ponies is right, and she knows it. She's just not quite sure how to be nice and get her way at the same time. She just turned 10 and is still trying to figure out how to be comfortable in her own skin.

Blueberry - The baby herself! Blueberry was dropped in a blueberry bush just beside the orphanage only days after being born. She's always been smaller than the other fillies and colts, but it doesn't bother her one bit. Blueberry doesn't have her cutie mark yet either, but she's content with that, she knows she'll get her mark when it's time. She loves nature, spending most of her time outside; going for walks, feeding birds, playing with local pets. She also loves to draw, whenever Treasured Hope has spare paper, Blueberry snatches it to doodle. Many of Blueberry's drawings line the halls of the orphanage. Blueberry also enjoys reading, she visits the Canterlot library often to take out and return books, always having something to say to the librarian with a smile. She is currently 6 years old and living her childhood to the fullest, but she may be destined for more than that of a city pony.

Ask anyone in town, and they’ll all agree that Applejack is the beating heart and soul of Ponyville. Even though she’s not the leader by any official means (that honor belongs to the mayor), Applejack does so much work organizing and bringing people together, heading work projects and planning town events, that she might well be the most important pony in Ponyville anyways. On top of all the work she does for her community, she’s also the head of Apple Orchard Farms, a family farm that grows and exports earth-element alchemy components. What Applejack values most in this world is community, hard work, and collectivism- there’s almost nothing she hates more than scabs. Applejack shoulders so much responsibility that she’s practically made of solid stone, and in fact, her appellation “The Stalwart Pony” gives her the power to harden her body into solid material to make herself indestructible!

But despite how tough she seems on the outside, being the big sister for everyone and taking on so much work wears on Applejack. She never lets herself rest where there’s problems she could fix or work she could do, and she’s addicted to being productive. When she’s worn down to the bone being reliable for everyone else, the one she always relies on is her best friend Pinkie Pie, who lives most of the time in the loft of her barn. When Applejack is driving herself mad trying to get everything done all at once, it’s usually Pinkie pie who reels her back and reminds her to take some time for herself.

Father Knows Best

This is an episode I never rewatched until now. Execution-wise, it's a middle of the road episode. Not great. Not terrible.

It's the story of dragon named Sludge who crash lands in Ponyville, gets nurse back to health by Twilight and her friends, grows accustomed to the comforts of castle life, and lies to Spike, pretending to be his father so he doesn't have to leave.

Smolder sets Spike straight. And we get to see some fantastic bonding here. It's rare that she and Spike got to interact, but whenever they did, it was always pure gold.

"Father Knows Best" gives Spike the opportunity to articulate a lesson that a lot of us need to hear: that family is those who love us. That Twilight has been his real family all along. That Spike has no reason to feel ashamed of who he is, and how he came to be that way.

However, Sludge is just so darn sleazy, that even though you're supposed to hate him, it's still difficult to watch. Spike, after all he's done, is still a kid. Spike is noble and kind and hopeful and pure of heart and emotionally fragile.

And Sludge just takes all of Spike's hopes and dreams and twists them and crushes them, and uses him.

It's painful to watch. Too painful.

Poor Spike.

Sorting My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

We've had a few weeks of sickness and have binge-watched MLP, as one does when one has an ill 6yo.

Twilight Sparkle: Double Bird

Her primary is very clear in the episode about Pinkie Pie's weird twitching (which, I will point out, is never addressed in any other episode). Twilight refuses to believe in something so illogical until she has no choice. As for her secondary, she lives in a library and her job is to research.

Rarity: Snake Badger

I love Rarity. She's a Snake primary IMO. She's ambitious and sometimes selfish. She wants to go to the Gala to find romance. Rarity is willing to sacrifice her wants for her special people, like her sister and Fluttershy. She's a Badger secondary. There are several episodes where she has a meltdown because she can't get something to be perfect and/or overworks herself. The sleepover episode is a great example of her need for things to be done right. She gets in a fight with Applejack about how to sleep correctly.

Fluttershy: Double Badger

Fluttershy is the epitome of Double Badgers. Animals are included in her definition of people and her job is basically to take care of all the wildlife. She can understand them and wants to go to the Gala to meet even more animals. She's terrible at boundaries and being assertive to the point where there's an episode in which she takes a class on becoming less of a pushover.

Rainbow Dash: Double Lion

She's a gloryhound Lion whose cause is being the best flyer and joining the Wonderbolts. She's loud, blunt, and never gives up. She loves pranks and acts of daring. Pretty straightforward.

Applejack: Badger Lion

Applejack's secondary was pretty straightforward. She's the element of honesty. She hates asking for help and would rather harvest the entire farm herself than admit it was too much for her. She is honest to a fault. Her primary was a bit trickier, but there's such an emphasis on her family as a whole and on helping the community of Ponyville.

Pinkie Pie: Double Badger

Pinkie was really hard for me to sort. Honestly, I can't stand her as a character. Ultimately, I think @wisteria-lodge has it right and she's a Double Badger. She is always hosting parties. She connects people with others in the community. When Gilda is being awful, Pinkie goes to Twilight for help and her solution is ultimately to throw a party to try and bring Gilda into the community. Her motive is that she wants everyone to be happy and have fun together. She is absolutely crushed when she thinks her friends have turned against her and builds a really creepy fake group of friends out of inanimate objects to cope.

Saiya (MLP: NextGen)

Another MLP: NextGen OC I decided to make ^^. This one is different, but this gal doesn’t have a good nature. Her name is Saiya. Here is more about her.

Nicknames: Sai, Miss Jealous, Little Miss Spoiled, NitTwit, A Pony Full of Jealousy and Spoilness

Species: Pony

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Alignment: Bad

Appearance: a purple pony with dark blue short hair and tail, a cutie mark of a purple poison lily

Personality: snotty, rude, rotten, sour, jealous, bitter, spoiled, cold, evil, brutal, stubborn,

Friends: Marietta, Cecelia and Aella

Enemies: ShadowSilver, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, PinkiePie, Rarity, Spike, Princess Celestia, Luna, Scootaloo, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and other ponies (except her friends)

Likes: bullying ShadowSilver, trying to gain her strengths in order to become princess to beat ShadowSilver at her own game, her friends, lilies, nighttime and the moon.

Dislikes: ShadowSilver (and her nature due as she grew jealous over it), Celestia, Luna, Twilight Sparkle and her friends, being underestimated, failing and getting annoyed with ShadowSilver a lot, which she did not like the most.

Saiya was born in the Heavens of a Kingdom of the Moon, when all of the sudden, her family were killed during the war, and Saiya fell from the skies (before ShadowSilver did) to Ponyville. Her family's death had turned her heart into a cold and cruel. She one day will become the future Princess of Equestria and wanted to be blessed, but unfortunately, due to her cruelty and cold nature, Celestia refused to accept Saiya to be the Princess' pupil. Horrified after Twilight Sparkle became Princess of Equestria, Saiya has changed into a different person as jealous, cruel and evil. Now since ShadowSilver came down to Equestria and became her sister Celestia's next pupil and soon to be the next Princess of Equestria. Saiya has a deep hate on ShadowSilver because everyone in Ponyville actually chose her to be the next princess of Equestria.

Saiya became ShadowSilver's bully as she began picking on her and making fun of her, taunting her constantly. She will do anything to take ShadowSilver out of the studying in order to become Celestia's pupil and the next princess of Equestria and to keep her out, sometimes with the help of her brutal friends (names in bio which will be drawn soon), who bullies ShadowSilver along side with Saiya. Siaya constantly thinks ShadowSilver is being a show off for being Celestia’s pupil and often spreads rumors to her friends about all that, which aren’t true at all. It putted ShadowSilver draining and feeling down, but girlie Shads had her friends that they have her back, which makes Saiya put more in a rage that she actually wants to do everything she can to take those goals away from ShadowSilver of becoming princess of Equestria.

I know this drawing is probably not as good (I still can’t draw ponies aggghhhh), but I did my best ^^; I’ve drawn this at school, and was going to have this displayed later, but I decided to do it now ^^;

I tried looking for a name for this character, and I was struggling since there are other OC names from other MLP fans. Saiya wasn’t a good choice for me, but oh well :p

I am against bullyism, but there might be a story soon of ShadowSilver as I come up with something for her in the MLP fandom ^^. It’ll be soon for the sweet ShadowSilver ^^

Derpy's Story 🍪

Hi everypony! My name is Derpy Hooves, and I am a grey pegasus with yellow mane and tail, and yellow eyes. I live in Ponyville all by my own because I don't know where my parents had to go. I learned to try and take care of myself, but it gets really hard sometimes and I give up when it's too hard. But everypony is nice to me and laughs when they see me fly and run into stuff. I don't fly so good, but I'm better than I was when I was a filly. Everypony smiles when they see me, and they talk real slow and nice at me. It's good to have friends!

My cutie mark is bubbles. I think it got there the last time I saw mommy. Mommy was teaching me to blow bubbles, and they were so pretty and flew high into the sky, just like a pegasus does. They pop and then I make more with the stick by putting it in the bubbly juice. But when the bubbly juice was all gone, I look around for Mommy, but she's gone. I didn't notice my cutie mark yet because I started crying and yelling for mommy, but she never came back. I never saw daddy again neither.

I walked and walked and walked until I came to Ponyville! There was lots of ponies, and even more pegasuses! I tried to fly to show them I was a pegasus too, but I don't fly so good, so I ran into a wall and I got an ouchy on my nose. They took me to the doctor to get all better, but then I had no home to go to, so they took me to another doctor to let me live with other ponies. He said they were special like me, but no pony there was like me at all. They didn't have a bubbles cutie mark. Some ponies had no cutie mark.

A long time later, I had grown up and they helped me find somewhere to live. I live in a little house far away from the other houses. I has to walk awhile to get to Ponyville. It makes me sad, but then I get happy when I remember that I can see a little bit of Ponyville from my window! But I spend a lot of time there cause I'm happy there. I know some ponies by name too!

I specially know Pinkie Pie, but Pinkie Pie knows everypony, so she knows me too. She's my friend now, but she says we're sisters, so she's my sister now. We play with Apple Bloom, and sometimes we like to make cupcakes and muffins. I specially love muffins. Pinkie Pie is teaching me to make muffins the best way, and it's so much fun! One of us takes out a little piece of paper from a jar that has a number of a pony in Ponyville, and then Pinkie Pie goes to get them and bring her to Sugarcube Corner. We play in the basement that Mr. and Mrs. Cake don't know about. But I don't tell cause I'm not a tattle tail. And if I told, I wouldn't be able to be with Pinkie and Apple Bloom anymore.

A couple days ago, Pinkie Pie said she hates my tiny house and says, "Come live with me, Derpy!"

So I go to live with Pinkie Pie. Sisters live together, right? Apple Bloom lives with Applejack, so I live with Pinkie Pie. I love her room because it reminds me of yummy cakes and candy. Pinkie Pie built another bed that stands on her bed!

But she says, "Derpy, you can sleep on the bottom bunk cause I don't want you to fall on accident."

I told her I could do it, and she let me, but then I fell and hurt my leg, so now I sleep on the bottom.

I'm so excited for today! We're going to make muffins and cupcakes, so I have a pony and Pinkie has a pony. Apple Bloom is at school, so it's just me and Pinkie Pie. She won't tell me who my pony is, but I can't wait to meet her! I hope she has a pretty cutie mark, cause I'm making a scarf out of the cutie marks I cut off of my ponies' flanks. And I'm gonna show Pinkie Pie how good I gotten at playing with them! And then I'll make the muffin mix all by myself and Pinkie will help me put them in the oven cause it's too hot.

Apple Bloom told us to leave her some, so I'm going to give her the biggest muffin I make, and Pinkie Pie is going to give her the cutie mark from her pony. Apple Bloom still doesn't have her own cutie mark, but I know she'll get it. She and Pinkie are so very nice to me, and they don't even talk slow to me. They make sure no pony calls me stupid or nothing cause I'm not stupid, I just don't understand so good.

When a pony calls me stupid, it makes me really wanna make muffins....

one of your best friends is the noble unicorn SUNBEAM. she’s so graceful and majestic, and everyone loves her. you try to match her elegance and beauty, but you aren’t nearly that cool.

To start, Jekyll + Hyde are alicorns. He accidentally scienced a bit too strongly and suddenly woke up as now technically the prince of (rogue) science lol. I'm not sure what Jekyll was originally as they're all really good options for him,, OUGH If not alicorn then kirin. Part kirin? Poor man is going to feel he has even more reason to suppress his emotions

Rachel is a pegasus! Or, if we want to expand a bit, a Griffin perhaps? ;0

Jasper is an earth pony :]

Lanyon is a pegasus. But the other options are also v good for him

Frankenstein,, ough,, idk, earth pony speaks to me right now. Unicorn is also good

I like to imagine the lodgers are all sorts of different creatures, kinda like the friendship school. Hehe, Griffin being a griffin, ough or a changling

This one is also more silly and character interaction focused because I can't imagine mlp to be condemning the use of mad science, since that's basically magic. They do still have a problem with the whole stitching together corpses thing though. And splitting your soul in half

Jeks has done something with it before I believe, but I really like the idea of Jekyll and Twilight being related. Cousins? Distant cousins? Niece and uncle? Idk, but they're related somehow :] They both went to Celestia's magic school in Canterlot, probably not at the same time though, since I imagine Henry is much older.

Hyde likes to run around being a menace, and if alicorn, might have genuinely fooled a few into believing The Spirit of London Canterlot at Night is some aspect of nightmare moon lol

Jasper came from Ponyville to Canterlot and is actually a were timber wolf! He still worked on the farm. Though I'm not sure if the Apple farm or an unrelated one. If related to the Apple family. Then Japser leaving after getting his Not apple themed cutie mark definitely gave Apple Bloom some extra fears in that one episode where she thought not having an apple cutie mark would get her kicked off the farm (Jasper didn't actually get kicked off the farm)

Lanyon's family would definitely be the type of ponies that go the the grand galloping gala everytime it started up again. The night the main 6 "ruined" the gala was definitely in the top best days of his life. Of the main 6 I think Lanyon would hang out with,, hmm, Twilight? The others might be too energetic for him. But Twilight reminds him of Jekyll. She also isn't too proper and fancy. I think Lanyon would also like Rarity, but at first he immediately hated her. There'd be an episode where they're forced to work together and he realizes that she isn't all that bad

Okay okay, I had this in my notes for a while waiting for MLP to be open for requests again so: concept of Twilight with a Draconequus Darling? I can't remember if there was a specific line of thought when I wrote this down tho, maybe the Darling is just as chaotic as Discord

Short Concept/Reaction

Pairing: Romantic/Platonic

There has been only one of your kind known in Equestria.

You, on the other hand, have not been caught.

Mostly because you prefer to stay in another dimension.

Your behavior could be like other Draconequus, chaotic creatures hellbent on mischief.

That or you could be one of the kinder ones of your culture.

You'd most likely be chaotic, such a craving for chaos set in full swing by the time you decide to investigate Ponyville.

You've heard of Discord in Ponyville, curiosity got the best of you to check it out.

This is when Twilight meets you.

She herself was not expecting more of Discord's kind.

In fact, she feels she dreads it once she sees you pull the same things Discord did.

Chaotic pranks, pestering ponies, altering the fabric of reality....

By this point, Discord is reformed, so Twilight tries to get him to help reign you in.

It takes a long while, but encouragement by your own kind calms your desires.

This whole "friendship" thing must be pretty powerful if it caused Discord to reform.

Fluttershy most likely can't handle two Draconequus, which means Twilight is stuck with you.

This begins your little companionship that soon grows into you being all Twilight can think about.

Twilight has her castle at this point, which leaves space for you.

Spike certainly hates the idea of you moving in.

Twilight is determined to change you, however.

It takes time but the young princess introduces you to Ponyville culture.

You even consider reading books with her.

Twilight slowly grows attached to you, taming your chaotic personality.

Similar to Fluttershy and Discord, you two are really close.

Twilight never thought she'd become so attached to you, her affections on the edge between best friends and something more....

The castle is sometimes even decorated by you, by Twilight's suggestions to prevent anything... too chaotic.

Twilight goes from stressed about your presence to calmed and happy.

The other Mane Six are surprised just how close you are.

Discord is even impressed the princess likes you so much.

You didn't torment her too much, did you?

Twilight would treat you similarly to her basic yandere behavior.

She does research on your culture and tries to understand her feelings towards you.

You are special to her, she wants to know why.

If you're as affectionate as Discord, Twilight would be weak in the knees.

You're clingy... and she likes it.

Spike would be the first to notice Twilight's behavior towards you.

The research, the affection, the obsessive behavior.

She isn't right in the head.

You may also encourage it accidentally, finding her behavior either cute or interesting.

You have no idea about her worsening mental health.

Seeing the alicorn so clingy... you thought that was just a pony thing.

You're not usually around them this often-

You leaving Ponyville now is out of the question for her

Twilight would panic if she simply saw you not in the castle.

She may treat you more like a beast she's taming due to her feelings.

She wants to keep you behaved and at her side.

Even if using magic and manipulation to do it is wrong....

Due to your powers, you could leave.

Yet Twilight's mental health will deteriorate and she may not act rationally.

She may just track you down with a spell or Discord.

Now that you've entered her life, reformed due to her help... she doesn't want you to leave.

Not after everything you've both been through.

Overall, Twilight would probably fall for you while reforming you.

Then she'd do everything she can to keep you happy in Ponyville, beside her.

Even if it meant figuring out how to seal you in stone like Discord.

"With me, you'll never want to leave Ponyville! ... or me-"

Least favorite episode of the show?

ooooh,,, that's a hard pick

i found a lot of spike episodes lacking, like a lot of people did, since his character isn't awesome. i loved him at the beginning of the show, but the writers played into the "forgotten spike" bit in a way that makes him more embarrassing than the intended underdog. another character that had a lot of potential! (too bad i dont currently have any plans for spike. maybe he's a thestral? maybe hes still a dragon and i suck it up and figure out how mythical beasts would work? idk)

i really didn't like school episodes, as mentioned. not because they're BAD or anything, i just had less of a connection to the school six than i did the mane six

i can point out quite a few episodes i didnt really enjoy and why-

Season 1: The Ticket Master

as a first impression, it wasn't great. i understand the message the writers were trying to share, but a lot of actions taken by the characters felt off. yes, everyone can be selfish at times, but not everyone would resort to coercion

Season 1: Over a Barrel

The Apploosans never had any claim over the land. The fact that they're even settled there and generally undisturbed is generous. The lesson of "sharing" has been done before and in much less racist ways...

Season 2: (i have no complaints)

Season 3: Spike At Your Service

this is not because it's a spike episode! its because of twilight. the whole "being rude to spike" thing was a little funny at first, and made some sort of sense because twilight didnt know how to treat friends yet (not an excuse but a reason). i get she can be absorbed in her work. but this episode felt like the biggest takeoff of "useless and forgotten spike" and i dislike that characterization of him. i much preferred it, in later episodes, where he was almost treated like a third sibling. because he WAS a third sibling. and hes a baby dragon; cut him some slack

Season 4: Equestria Games

okok i know another spike episode. im just super sensitive to second-hand embarrassment and it's not enjoyable! i have to skip past the part where spike "sings" the cloudsdale anthem because it hurts so bad. otherwise good and relatable episode! acting on your instincts can feel like nothing since it was "effortless" even though you save a lot of lives! good for spike. he deserves it.

Season 5: Castle Sweet Castle

i hhhate the crystal castle i hate it i hate it

well i dont hate it. but i hate why its there. i like the table for lore reasons but the rest of the castle feels far too grandiose for twilight's reserved nature. the golden oak library was great! i loved that! and i would love it if the show gave twilight a massive library, but... crystal? right outside of ponyville? and OUTSIDE? wasnt the point of the library being near the center of town so it forced twilight to immerse herself in ponyville culture?

i hate capitalism and their love of easily manufactured cheap colorful plastic toys

Season 6: The Cart Before the Ponies

this one feels pretty ooc as well. i can see all of these events happening, but in more minor ways and subtle influences than completely taking over. i know the show needs to be blatant about their writing sometimes, which is totally fine, but it unfortunately sacrifices the writing of the featured characters.

Season 7: (i have no complaints)

Season 8: Horse Play

more second-hand embarrassment i can't stand. otherwise a pretty great episode! i love celestia episodes a lot because her character is pretty decently executed! im still not happy about them not addressing the whole alicorn thing, but as a ruler shes trying her best and thats what really counts. i also love seeing how hers and twilight's relationship developed.

Season 8: Non-Compete Clause

main example of appledash fighting and putting students in danger. this episode just rubs me the wrong way in a manner i can't find the words to describe

Season 8: Yakity Sax

i'm all for letting others enjoy what they enjoy! and i love that pinkie is given hobbies outside of baking and party planning and babysitting! but boundaries DO come first. the only issue i have with her playing is that it becomes visually physically painful due to the volume. sounding bad can be fixed and ignored, but volume is definitely something that needs to be discussed.

this is ALSO what feels like a tipping point for pinkie as well (at least in my memory) from a well-rounded fun character to the "loud funny comedic relief" with little dimension left

Season 9: She's All Yak

this one also makes me feel weird and rubs me the wrong way! the message is there and is executed fine but "teaching yona to be more pony-like" felt really really weird

i've talked more than enough about how i feel about the end of the series! it's... eeehhhh... lots of things i would change. and i am changing. i have a blog about this.

here’s the mane 6 all together. i went through a couple edits of them until i was happy with them and i think i’m finally set on them now!

fun facts below the cut

when they move in together, fluttershy stocks up on lint rollers. not for fur or dust that you’d expect to see due to her veterinary practice, but because pinkie tends to leave a trail of glitter and confetti. this is especially noticable when she’s bouncing around.

pinkie is an earth pony born with latent chaos magic. this is really rare and exhibited itself in strange ways when she was a foal. as a grown mare, she can control it better, even if it still catches people off guard on occasion.

fluttershy is a flutter pony purely because i heard jenny nicholson talk about it once and i got it stuck in my head. she’s very tall however, super willowy compared to earth ponies (as are most flutter ponies).

fluttershy is taller than both rarity and starlight glimmer, but it’s hard to tell as she keeps her head down and this makes her appear slightly smaller.

fluttershy runs the ponyville vet clinic and is an animal whisperer. she also patches up her more rambunctious friends from time to time.

fluttershy is the begrudging midwife to her friends because some of them are ridiculous and don’t go to the doctor when they should. she is very tired and deserves every cup of coffee she makes them buy her after the fact.

the flutter pony gene is more dominant than most other species genes, so if any non flutter pony and a flutter pony have a foal, it usually ends up being a flutter pony. the only exception are kirin.

rainbow dash is a trans mare

rainbow is the second shortest of the mane 6, barely taller than pinkie. don’t mention it or she’ll destroy your knee caps.

rainbow can also pack away calories like nopony else. do not challenge her to an eating contest or you’ll end up sick and regretting it.

apple jack is average earth pony height which means she’s dwarfed by her flutter and unicorn friends. twilight is on the smaller side of unicorns (as sunset shimmer).

aj is a disaster lesbian. she’s tripped into mud quite a few times around pretty mares. no, she does not want to talk about it.

aj is also well known in ponyville and beyond for being one of the best no holds barred wrestlers around. before she became a mom, she also did some mud wrestling. once she had her foals, she put that behind her if only because it took time away from farm work she didn’t have; she’s still jacked, however.

twilight sparkle is a hornless unicorn, a very rare birth defect. she had to deal with a lot of bullying growing up because of how mules and donkies tend to be the butt of the joke to the average pony. she also had to deal with her tail being stepped on a lot, so as an adult she keeps it tucked to her side.

despite her lack of horn, twilight still has magic abilities. they can be very wild and hard to control due to not having a horn conduit. she spends most of her young life learning how to handle this and becomes one of the most learned unicorns of her time.

twilight is asexual/demiromantic.

rarity is 1/4th mule and gets her long ears from her dad’s side of the family. this has been a topic of rumor amongst the other fashion moguls and like of manehatten. some have even gone so far as to say her horn is fake and other ridiculous claims. rarity would originally just scoff and act as if she couldn’t possibly be related to a mule, but eventually learns her lesson friendship story style after hearing similar rumors about twilight.

the two go on to help stop uhh fuckin discrimination against mules and donkies i guess?? holy shit i didn’t mean to make it a racial allegory but here i am fuck dude, anyway

on a different note, twilight is in a polyam relationship with rainbow dash and tempest shadow. she loves both her girls very much.

rarity is a disaster bi, but in a different way than apple jack. rarity is accidentally an embarrassing asshole to cute ponies and this is what lead to a lot of fights between rarity and other members of the mane 6. the only one who almost never took it to heart was pinkie because she could tell just how embarrassed rarity felt and that she wasn’t doing rude things intentionally. pinkie and eventually fluttershy help rarity stop being such a dunce around cute ponies.

rarity eventually stops dying her grey hair away. she does it out of anxiety, but eventually aj and her friends help her relax a little and understand that going grey isn’t going to mean she isn’t beautiful.

lyra and bonbon are happily married.

angel has a love/hate relationship with pinkie. she’s so nice and knows how to brush angel just right, but the mare is taking cuddle time with fluttershy away >:(

starlight glimmer is the only voice i have a headcanon for and it’s heather mcnamara from the off broadway production of heathers. (example)

sunset shimmer is the shortest unicorn i’ve designed so far. she’s shorter than pinkie pie and is an absolute bitch. (i love her.) she is also married to starlight glimmer; they are the bitchy moms at PTA meetings who will destroy you <3

derpy hooves is named ditzy doo in my au. she’s a postpony and scrunchie collector.

dr hooves is named tick turner and he makes and repairs watches and clocks.

bulk biceps is a personal trainer. he breaks his coffee mugs a lot.

ditzy, tick, and bulk biceps are all dating each other in a polyam relationship. for their anniversary, ditzy and tick bought bulk some super nice metal cast mugs; bulk ended up crying a little because he’s a big emotional baby. they love him.

I'll write up what I have so far if you wanna take and run with it, but they're really loose ideas (Sunset's story would come further down the line, so it's lower priority for me to figure out). Here are my current story notes:

Sunset is a morally grey character who has to make peace with her past transgressions and regain her motivation to live a good life. She feels most alive when fighting or in mortal danger. She's jaded, tired, and quick to anger.

(In order to set her apart from Starlight (Stella), I'm changing her character to no longer be a villain. Perhaps we meet her on the road to self-improvement and redemption.)

Sunset used to be Celestia's personal student and was set to become the first human (outside of Celestia's family) to join the court of witches (hence why she has a Canterlot name). But Sunset's impatience and selfishness caused her name to be disgraced and cast out by Celestia, banished from Canterlot and set to wander the American West alone. Thea (Twilight) became the first human instead, taking her place (sunset comes before twilight, after all).

(Maybe she tried forbidden magic and summoned/unleashed a dark force (Sombra?) and must now find and slay it to repent [I think that's the plot to Earthsea...]. Could set up future stories.)

(Has she learned her lesson after years of wandering the desert or does she seek revenge against Celestia? Who does she hate more, Celestia or herself?)

Sunset is a folk legend: the Flame of the West. Whether good or bad, she's sure to bring trouble if she darkens your doorstep. While she tries to do good by the people, she'll prioritize her best interests and is unafraid of killing. She's taken lives before. Some say she's a hero, others call her a bandit and a thief (April-Jacqueline is especially untrusting).

She's very introverted and a bit socially awkward, preferring the company of her horse Shimmer over any human. Because she still considers Canterlot her home, she feels unwelcome and uncomfortable on Earth. If you invite her out to drink with friends, she'll sit in a corner brooding, trying to bury herself in her hat and poncho, before stepping outside to smoke alone.

Her magic is fire. Unlike other witches, she is unable to perform magic that is untethered to fire. She is an extension of Celestia's rage, her "solar flare." During moments of high stress, excitement, or anger, Sunset will ignite and emit smoke. She carries a revolver, a rifle, and a flaming rapier sword.

(Her horse shares these flame attributes. Sparks will fly from its hooves when it gallops).

Premise(?): Sunset arrives in Ponyville to ask for Thea's help to (find and slay the evil she created [makes more sense but boring]) (to unknowingly aid in her revenge against Celestia [more dramatic, betrayal, more proactive in Sunset's redemption]).

Sunset accidentally falls in love with Thea (she's the one person she can't bring herself to get angry at) (if revenge plot, feels more and more conflict and self-loathing in lying to the only person she's learned to care about. It's about the angst). Sunset finds salvation through love.

Story must end with the two parting ways. Thea must stay and Sunset must go. But their love will endure.

She's GOTTA ride off into the sunset.

The Glass Ponies: Ch. 1 - Arriving At Ponyville

"So.. why are you going to Ponyville again?"

"To help with preparations for the Summer Sun Celebrations."

"Why is Spike going to Ponyville?"

"To send and receive letters, particularly to Princess Celestia, Shining, and mom and dad."

"...why am I going to Ponyville?"

"Because," The mare turned to him, her periwinkle eyes already looking exhausted behind her large glasses. "You're the only pony I can tolerate, wouldn't mind living with, and knows how to cook all at the same time." A blank stare met her, and she rolled her eyes, nudging under her companion's chin with a fond, "Moral and emotional support, Henry. You're here for moral and emotional support."

Henry felt his large ear twitch, huffing, though clearly amused by the purple, magenta-patterned unicorn traveling with him. He turned his attention to the other purple occupant in the carriage, watching the baby dragon pounce on a tuft of cloud that had fallen into their pegsus-drawn ride. He felt a smile grace his lips, unaware of how his cousin watched him with slight relief. Admittedly, she also brought him along out of concern. The stallion hadn't smiled in a while, and she was hoping a change of scenery might help.

"Here we are, Ponyville," One of the pegusi said, and Henry helped Spike climb up on to the mare's back. "Enjoy your stay, Twilight Sparkle." Twilight nodded at the stallion, oblivious to how his face fell at the lack of verbal response. Henry shot the other a look, stepping closer to his cousin. Twilight glanced over, then groaned, muttering under her breath, "Creepy older pony giving me looks?" Henry nodded, earning another groan as they walked. "Ugh! Why are stallions like that?"

"Hey, don't ask me, I wasn't raised as one, remember?" Henry said cheekily, lifting his head so she couldn't nip his ear. While being.. what he was.. wasn't easy, the added height was appreciated when bantering with his cousin/adopted sister.

"Oh, I hate you and your long neck," Twilight pouted, Spike chewing on her orange and yellow mane. The baby had been a surprising addition to the family, but they'd done their best to raise him, with Henry and Twilight studying as much as they could about dragons to keep Spike happy and healthy. He'd even begun to spit enough fire to send letters about a month before they set off.

Speaking of letters, he burped one up, then held it out to Twilight. She took it with her magic, reading it over, and her face soured more.

"Is that the list of ponies we need to talk to?" Henry asked, choosing to ignore the 'make some friends' written at the bottom. Twilight nodded, then opened her mouth to say something, only to fall silent, eyes widening. Henry paused, then turned to see what she was staring at. A smirk found it's way to his face, and he leant in and whispered teasingly, "You know, if you're gonna stare, you should go say hi~" Immediately the insides of her ears flushed pink, and she stamped her hoof in indignation, stammering.

"I-I wasn't–!! I can't just–!!" Henry stared down at her smugly, both oblivious to the excited hoofbeats heading towards them.

"Ohmygoodnesshelloareyounew!?" They both jumped, looking down. Twilight's ears burnt hotter as her cousin shot her a smug look. The mare before them was short, barely reaching Twilight's chest. She was an earth pony, one with golden fur like a perfect pie crust, reddish-pink curls pulled into a large puffball on her head. Her smile squished her chubby cheeks, the rest of her just as round and soft. Her little ears were sticking up with excitement, tail wiggling, as she chattered, "I've never seen you before!! Your mane is really pretty!! I like your glasses!! Your cutie mark is shaped like a book, do you like to read!?"

"Y-Yeah, I do!" Twilight smiled down at the mare, long tail curling, the orange hair at the end of it, dragging on the ground with the happy swishes. "Um.. yours is a slice of pie and a balloon. That's.. that's really cute! Do you.. do you uh.. um.. bake..?" The mare giggled, tapping her brown hooves as she nodded.

"You're not the best at conversation, huh?" Twilight felt her ears droop, but before Henry's protective brother mode could activate, the pudgy horse continued, "That's okay, I'm not either, I talk waaayyy too fast!! Ooh, but I'm sure you would talk faster about a subject you like!! Wanna come to Sugarcube Corner and talk more?? I'd stay here, but I have to help Apple Jack with all the dessert orders for the celebration!"

"Oh! Uh.. Pinkie Pie!!" Twilight jumped as Spike pointed at the mare, having forgotten he was on her back. Pinkie Pie beamed at him, nodding, before tilting her head like a confused puppy.

"How'd ya know my name?"

"We're here to check up on the preparations for the celebration," Henry said, accidentally startling the mare. She pretended to squint as she looked up at him, calling out, "Hello up there!! How'd I not notice you? You're so tall!!"

"So, uh, Apple Jack is at.. Sugarcube Corner, was it? I'd love to.. uh.. um.. sample some of the desserts! If.. that's okay," Henry smiled as he watched her, proud of how far his sister had come from how shy and withdrawn she used to be.

"Yep! Follow me!" The mare began to bounce off. Twilight paused, turning to her cousin, who shook his head with a smile.

"I'll go see the others while you check over the food and party preparations," He said, moving to lift Spike with his tail and place him on his back. Unicorns were known for their long, prehensile tails, with tufts of manes at the end, and they were especially useful for scooping up ans entertaining baby dragons. Spike clung to Henry's shirt and vest, patting at the fabric with his padded paws, before trying to bat at the tuft at the end of the stallion's tail. Twilight smiled at the sight, then sighed, "Okay.. you'll be careful, right? You'll take breaks to stop and rest?"

Henry rolled his eyes, but nodded all the same. He kept his hooves hidden in boots that went up his long legs, yet it seemed to cause pain for him, at least in his front hooves, especially his left one. That, plus the tight wrappings around his middle, left him not the best equipped for physical endeavours. Still, he hadn't seen Twilight this flustered in a while, and he wanted her to have time to befriend the mare.

"I'll be careful," He promised as Twilight gave him a gentle hug. Twilight sighed, "Sorry for fussing, it's just.. with your hoof problems and the pains in your torso.. I can't help but worry." Henry cringed; he felt a bit bad about lying to her and his adoptive family about the real reason so much of him stayed hidden, but he'd felt like he had no choice. His parents had made up the medical excuses when he was young, and after losing them, he didn't want his 'oddities' scaring off his only remaining family, so he'd kept himself hidden as his parents had always instructed.

"Henry?" He blinked, pulled from his thoughts, and gave his sister a brief nuzzle to soothe her worried look. He heard Pinkie call out to her, and gave her a nudge in the earth pony's direction. With a final glance and smile, she hurried to catch up with the other, leaving Henry with Spike.

"Alright, Spike," He began, turning to affectionately nose at the dragonling on his back. "Let's go find the others on that list. What were their names again? Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity, right?"
