Contrary to popular belief, Mobei-jun is actually a pretty chill guy. Not much of a talker but pleasant company nonetheless. It's just the second he steps a foot outside his territory he is constantly overheating to the point of nausea. He can mask the discomfort but the sensation of being boiled alive makes him a tad more stab-happy than he is by default.

can't stop thinking about sunday's sleeping arrangement on the astral express

himeko and march are out and dan hang SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR in the archival room. there's plenty of room with caelus (and that's assuming caelus and not stelle, because sunday would Never impose upon a young woman), but depending on how caelus reacted to sunday joining the express, that might be a no-go.

and listen. if anyone were to worry about sunday's sleeping arrangement, it would literally only be welt.

the entire crew let caelus/stelle sleep ON BOXES for an entire YEAR. and that's fresh in everyone's (or at least welt's) mind. welt in particular would feel guilty over the whole "sleeping on boxes for a year thing" and determined not to let it happen again. except they JUST did spring cleaning and a bunch of renovations for caelus/stelle's room and everyone's tired and doesn't feel like doing more right now.

in light of all of this and feeling stressed about all the trouble making a room for him would be, sunday of course would offer to sleep on a couch in the lounge. and welt would say, "you CANNOT do that i will not allow it" and sunday says oh, i mean of course, i was presumptuous for assuming. i can merely... sleep on the floor? if that wouldn't be too much trouble. and welt would immediately react with, oh god that's not what i meant, i don't want you to sleep on the floor it's just, couches are bad for your back and you wouldn't have any space or privacy for yourself in the lounge, there HAS to be a better option.

and they'd argue about it but at 4d chess politeness levels and both back themselves into the corners, and someone else endorses sleeping on the floor again (because dan heng does it, it's fine) so finally welt, at the end of his rope, says: "he can stay in my room."

and he and sunday then proceed with the whole politeness dance--oh i could never, oh i insist--but everyone else is totally on board. sounds like a great plan. if he's in welt's room not only do they not have to feel guilty about his sleeping arrangements, they don't have to worry about him going rogue and killing them all in their sleep. perfect solution. full, enthusiastic support. besides, welt is the one who brought him here, welt should take responsibility.

No but seriously she totally is? Subconsciously there's a space for him in her life always. I know I keep saying this, but she totally has feelings for him, buried inside her. What those feelings actually are is something she has to figure out. (She started that journey in BJBJ; she even got to face him and banish him and all. Did that manage whatever feelings she has for him though? Nope).

She's sleeping alone and yet she's leaving all that space next to her like she's sleeping with a spouse. The visual storytelling here implies she's longing for someone to take that space.

idea: mourn watch student beds are often basically just repurposed or leftover coffins and sarcophagi. (omg. younger novices sometimes sleeping communally in unoccupied catacomb niches like they're bunk beds.....) the only thing that makes emmrich's romance scene remarkable as to the usual sleeping arrangements of a watcher is that a) they're sleeping and ahem enjoying other activities on like. just the naked bedframe with no sheets or mattress or anything. rare L for emmrich's rizz going on here unless he thought the full coffin experience would add something for rook (they are dating him specifically; he might be right in his priorities here honestly) and b) it's emmrich doing it (by the time you've reached the seniority he's at most watchers have taken steps to make their quarters more comfortable and easy on the joints and back than the equivalent of the sad folding bed from your college days. i fully believe emmrich has a luxurious double bed with silk sheets somewhere further up in the necropolis but such is his commitment to sweep rook off their feet goth style and by all means it seems to be working flawlessly, I won't embarrass myself by presuming to teach a master how to practice his art, as you were professor volkarin)

While yes Manon has a gazillion issues but she is confrontational and assertive af.

Her grandmother might have fucked her up all the way to next Sunday but she also raised her to be a leader and this is what Manon is essentially is. She doesn’t hesitate, she doesn’t cower, she doesn’t walk on eggshells around others (that is only reserved for her grandmother because her entire body KNOWS to be careful around her).

She was born to be a leader and this is what her entire life consisted of: her grandmother certainly didn’t believe in starting from the bottom up. No. She literally threw her to the sharks and told her to be just like them.

Which is why Manon always had too much on her plate because she is the heir of her grandmother. It’s all she knows: she commands, and she is used to others doing exactly to her bidding, no questions asked. This is why despite everything, she has a hard time hearing ‘no’ because no one dared say that to her her entire life.

This is why Dorian found it amusing. Manon was self destructing, with how she overworks herself and doesn’t get much rest (her best was to sleep for 4 hours at night) so there were a lot of ‘no’ coming from Dorian (and Glennis who wasn’t too amused because why are you about to throw a fit just because things aren’t going your way).

Dorian is great with Manon though, between the two of them, he’s the one in control (because Manon found it so freeing to let go and just… let Dorian take care of things) and this is how he slowly introduced her to the concept of ‘no’ because she really couldn’t cope with that. She literally fought him every step of the way but Dorian is patient and quite assertive, so Manon couldn’t really get her way even though she tried different tactics. It’s because Dorian KNEW what she was doing so he just let her have her moments but ultimately he didn’t change his mind.

headcanon that scorpius was a sick child and was in and out of hospital constantly, perhaps related to astoria's blood curse but not directly. his immune system isnt very strong, and everytime he gets sick they're terrified that it's the blood curse but also whatever else it could be, because it's always so sudden and so intense and they call healers over to the house who recommend this delirious feverish 4 year old is hospitalised immediately, and you'd think it'd get easier to some extent because they'd be used to it, but everytime they feel like this is it, this is the time he'll walk in to the hospital and not walk out again
