Secret Lore Drop: Genetics

Most of you guys noticed already, but in the past few days I mentioned having a secret lore of sorts that was connected to High Tide’s genes, some of my mutuals getting early access on this beforehand.

Hopefully this post answers some questions like: why does HT have retractable teeth? Why does he physically roar? Why does he have claws? Why he acts normal around other beastformers? And last, but certainly not least... If his father/sire was a space sailor, who was his mother/carrier?

Be in mind that... this is a bit self-indulgent and entirely made up sooo djfksjfsk I'm posting this because I got the brainrot while still being hesitant so pls don’t hate too hard on this <3

High Tide’s father used to travel across other planets as well, to either gather resources requested by others or to simply explore on his own, and it was in one of his little expeditions that he met HT’s mother and fell in love with her, of course, keeping their relationship a secret when coming back to Cybertron.

To cut to the big reveal already.... His mother was a predacon, an ancient dragon-like predatory race once living in Cybertron, that resided in Eukaris in order to keep herself, as well as the other predacons that lived there, alive before they were wiped out of their existence due to the Great Cataclysm.

Since the Predacons were the predatory ancestors from Cybertronians, it was quite of obvious why they had to keep their relationship a secret: she was, quite literally, a living fossil and had a high risk of being taken away to be studied by others. Despite that, they were a very happy couple, being even happier when High Tide was born.

Though he looked more like his father, he had the genes from his mother; being presented in form of claws, fangs/retractable teeth, his... optics sometimes imitating one of a dragon (but that’s on very rare occasions) and his ability to growl and roar. And since his father worked hard for both of them, HT spent more time at home with his mom, thus respecting any other predacon/beastformer due to being born from one.

He was also generally taller than the other younglings and that’s thanks to his mother’s genes. Although his father was also tall, predacons in nature are absolutely huge with his mother being taller than his father due to that. He had growth spurts through his life as an adult too, being 23ft tall in the arenas and eventually growing to 26ft during war.

He was supposed to reach around 30ft before old age hit him and he was also supposed to grow wings, but they weren’t able to properly start developing due to his back getting constantly hurt during the arenas and... due to an accident in the middle of war, he had permanent damage which caused him to stop growing all together.

I discovered I have the creativity to work outside of the confines of the canon and write for NPCs (hellooooo Viper!) and post-game stuff (Midwinter in Waterdeep). I'm very proud of myself for taking the leap into this new creative outlet.

with three days left till house of the dragon season two (!!), i would love some asoiaf/house of the dragon/game of thrones plots on discord because i know the brainrot is gonna be strong

i am very flexible when it comes to whether the plots are centered on canon muses, original muses or a mix of both and i'm very happy to go along with the flow and conform to my writing partner's preferences.

i use this blog solely for plotting which is why it’s blank but i have over a decade of experience in the rpc! as a 25+ writer (she/her), i only interact with writers over the age of 19 so please be respectful of that limitation. in terms of requirements, i'm a big quality over quantity person so i'm always happy to modify my reply length based on my writing partner's preference but literacy is very important to me as i lose muse quickly if i feel like i'm not getting enough to work with for my replies. i spend most of my time on discord but if you like this post or message me, i can give you my handle <3

Extremely late Kirby Anime series 22nd anniversary

I know this is very late post but luckily I’m able to draw this as 22nd Anniversary of KRBAY anime series. As someone who is American that used to watch 4kids

Well, gotta to share my story of how I got into Kirby well it’s all started back in early 2000s I don’t know what year was it but I can only say I only remember back in 2008 where me and my siblings as an only girl of my siblings that watches anime and we were staying at my dad place where at afternoon where I tried to find SpongeBob on TV til I accidentally found Kirby but anime on the screen I only remember knuckle Joe episode where he came in cappy town and it was so nostalgic where I grew up with my older brothers who got into like Dragon Ball, Yu Gi Oh, Avatar The Last Airbender and such when 4kids was gone I was sad when I was around age of 5? til around 2013 where I saw escargoon picture on screen thought it was a snail anime show but race cars with salesman guy but didn’t know it was same universe as Kirby. This show got me more into GSA Brainrot, it made me so happy that I made friends in Kirby I want to thank you enough for being my friend and support me, reading KRBAY comic, seeing people fanart and such also rewatched anime brings back memories like nostalgic cuz I’m more of the early 2000s late 90s era like Y2K old school person as Kirby fan but it may not be perfect and glad to made a family out of them ^w^

I thank KRBAY for giving me inspiration for my upcoming comic ideas, inspired me to do art, creating my childhood that will last forever and made fan-arts out of memes and head-cannon

I wanna to add GSA knights to the 22nd anniversary of KRBAY so they don’t feel lefted out and added some iconic characters btw king dedede blocked escargoon out and very much in the rush to draw the anniversary. :3

Sometimes you gotta flip through urls until you find one that works best for you. I've seen people change time and time again, so long as you're happy with what you end up on! You're never stuck with one [thing], which is something I learned earlier this year. I was so terrified to step away from the "lordoftherazzles" and "razzy" stuff, but I've been a lot happier since!! So it's definitely not weird to find your place, even through a url change :)

Ahh!! I think BG3 is on my list of games to get (very soon if I can), and Astarion already has me in a chokehold lmao, so I can't wait to give it a try. I definitely recommend the Dragon Age games, as they're of a similar vein in my opinion!! Fantasy games for the absolute win, honestly. I'm glad my brainrot could inspire some fun haha.

Never apologize for some mush, it honestly makes my heart swell, and I'm just flattered and honored to be thought of from time to time 😭 thank you for being so kind! It's so strange (positive) how the world works and how one little interaction can lead to friendships and whatnot! I think about these things quite a bit, reflection and all that. I love creating bonds, it's the best part of any fandom space I've ever been in, and I look forward to some more!

Thank you so much!! That's such a lovely thing to hear! We're really pleased with how much people are enjoying this brainrot of ours, and exploring a post-Dance world in the bookverse gives us a ton of freedom to play around with what-ifs and be self-indulgent to an extent without having to change the canon events of the Dance much, although we do embellish and take some liberties.

(answers to your question below the cut!)

As for headcanons, we have talked about their childhoods a lot (at some point we might post some small one-shots from the past, pre-war)! Our Aegon is an adhd king. In the modern world, his teachers would have been telling him he's smart but needs to apply himself. He didn't have to study hard, but would show up to lessons with the answers, which was very annoying to his siblings. He's good at languages (you'll see a bit in this upcoming chapter, Baela teasing him a bit for speaking a less colloquial Valyrian than she speaks), music, and poetry. He was a "difficult" kid, always up to mischief, especially sneaking into the kitchens to steal sweets, and became an avowed hedonist in his teenage years. He had an alcohol problem at a young age, spent a lot of time with whoring and with various lovers, and you'll see in upcoming chapters some of the backstory behind his self destructive behavior. Some of it you can probably guess at. Helaena was his bff when they were little kids, but the marriage was damaging to that relationship.

Baela's childhood was influenced heavily by Grandma Rhaenys, who had high standards for her. Book!Baela, unlike show!Baela, was betrothed to Jace as a baby, before her mother and uncle Laenor died, with the expectation that she'd be queen one day, and grandma had the task of preparing her. Baela had a strong bond with her father, who is the one who taught her all of the Valyrian rituals and traditions you see in OFCIR, and taught her how to handle her dragon, even the basics of battle, which is how she managed to survive the battle with Sunfyre. Those are things she held dear as a young woman, and she takes a lot of pride in being a repository of knowledge about Valyrian culture. Baela gets a bit of "not like other girls" treatment in canon and fanon, but we treat Baela's post-Dance rebelliousness as a kind of trauma response (canon Baela really gets the shaft post-Dance). Our Baela gets to be more involved and active, so we see more of her "raised for queenship" side come out, her manners, he political instinct (although she has to remember to hold her tongue), even her skills with embroidery, all things she was taught by grandma. So if our Baela isn't running wild in the streets, it's because she has more of a purpose than canon Baela did. You might also have noticed, our Baela loves the sea. As a child she loved swimming in the ocean with Rhaena, playing on the beach, catching crabs, running along the docks and playing on grandpa's boat. The ocean is her happy place (and as someone who also grew up on the coast-- same!). @aifsaath what else?

in an effort to not succumb to a potential panic attack, i will instead focus on some fandom nonsense! i've had a little influx of new follows, almost exclusively people i've seen in the ffxiv tags and watched from afar for awhile now, so maybe i should do a little intro post.

i'm feral kwe (kwe means woman in anishinaabemowin) but you may feel free to call me just b. just a tired, queer, indigenous lady who is an eldritch being in tumblr years (my original blog started in 2008 or 09) and gets a little too lost in the blorbo sauce. the fandom i'm currently most active in is ffxiv, but i dabble in good omens, mass effect, a couple of the gay vampire shows, and have been in and out of marvel fandom. i'm a dragon age old, my first online fandom and the one i went the most hard in up until now, so consider that a blanket warning for the upcoming months, since i'm not sure yet where i'll fall into it again. for the foreseeable future, i'm quite happy in my ffxiv brainrot, and will happily go on and on and on (and on and on) about my wol, kit hareington given even a breath of permission to do so.

Kind of wild to me, but the VAST majority of those words happened more than five years ago.

3. what fandoms do you write for?

Mostly The Sandman right now, although I'm still a Hannibal person and I think I feel some BG3 coming on eventually. I've meandered my way through various video game fandoms over the years and am likely to return to Pillars of Eternity. Rather less likely for the Bioware stuff, but maybe the upcoming DA game will, in a stunning subversion of my expectations, make me care about Dragon Age again.

I really enjoy the Yuletide fic exchange, so I write for whatever small fandom I get assigned that year (so far I've done Wayward Children, Left Hand of Darkness, and Goncharov), and I'm hoping to get more into exchanges.

A majority of the time, yes. Especially if I get a meaty one to actually talk about!

....yeah, not really any competition there, it's I Recall, which I wrote for a Pillars of Eternity minibang about my Watcher, Acantha's past-life doomed romance with Iovara.

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I'm not sure how to answer this one! I'm kinda all over the map in terms of the tone of the fics I write, and I don't know how to really differentiate between different happy endings.

But let's shout out You Sang Me of Some Distant Past (Dragon Age, F!Hawke/Morrigan, which canoe I will paddle until the end times) - this was my first ever big bang entry, and I'm still happy with it a decade later.

8. do you get hate on fics?

I think the closest thing to hate I've ever gotten was someone saying my Labyrinth fic had Sarah using too many big words in her head.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

My AO3's linked all over this post, you can just go look.

But uh, lot of D/s, lot of knifeplay, I think are the two big themes.

10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?

I have written one (1) crossover! There's Someone Scratching Softly is a Hannibal/Wayward Children crossover where Jack Wolcott is in therapy with Hannibal. It's the leviathan shadow of a much larger AU Hannibal fic I've done a lot of brainstorming on, and I posted it on a whim one day (I hadn't originally intended to, when I wrote it) and was very pleased with that decision, because a few fans who know both canons came out of the woodwork to gush at me about it.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

No idea, but probably not; I don't write enough plotty epics to make it likely.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I'm aware of. (A couple of delightful people have podficced some of my short Hannibal fics, though! I was very excited.)

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope. Wouldn't completely rule it out as a possibility, but not something I've done date.

14. what's your all time favourite ship?

I don't really do all-time favorites? I do whatever I've got the most brainrot about currently. I don't have a good way of ranking favorite ships relative to one another!

15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Relentless Splinters I Recall is the parent fic, sort of, to I Recall, which I mentioned above. It was a very ambitious idea and I love what's there, but I will be very surprised and impressed with myself if I manage to pick that thread back up at some point. I don't think I'm really cut out to do game novelization fic.

16. what are your writing strengths?

Economy's probably the biggest one; I know very well that I can get a lot done in a relatively small number of words. I also really enjoy writing dialogue and like to think I'm good at it.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

I'm not the kind of person who can spawn wild AUs or plotlines easily, and I often wish that I was. (I don't think I'm bad at plot, but if I'm writing something plotty there is a lot of very deliberate brainstorming and probably workshopping with a friend or two, and it takes a ton of effort.)

Also just, you know, getting words on the page. (It's hard! It's hard! It's really really haaaaard! ~*)

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I think anything from a curse word to a short phrase can have a place, but usually find it obnoxious when writers put in whole exchanges in (usually google translated) Other Language.

There was a post going around at some point discussing how bi/multilingual people do and don't mix languages that was very good and valid.

20. favorite fic you've written?

Oof, that's hard. Something, something, can't pick a favorite child.

However, with the caveat that I have a lot of favorites for a lot of reasons, the Goncharov fic I wrote for Yuletide 2023 still pleases me to an outsize degree. Sometimes I think I'm funny.

The thing you people need to understand is that this literalist mindset you insist on projecting backwards onto history is itself a distinctly modern concept that would be alien to pre-modern societies. Religion was metaphor and symbolism because EVERYTHING was metaphor and symbolism. Everything they thought, said or did was entrenched in layers of symbolism and metaphor because it had to be. They didn't have any of the means of proof that we take for granted today. No photographs, no sound recordings, no videos, no DNA tests. Everything was abstract, and the hard line between fact and fiction we perceive today simply wasn't a concept. A story could be fantasy and history at the same time. Geoffrey of Monmouth just made up a guy called Brutus of Troy as the ancestor of the Britons in his Historia Regum Britanniae. He just wrote that in there. He didn't have to falsify archaeological evidence for a Bronze Age Hittite settlement in Britain, and no one expected him to. They all just went along with it and accepted Brutus of Troy as their ancestor because it was a good story, and they based their entire cultural identity on stories. So yes, the crusades were fought over literature (among other things). Their worlds were small, and they had to fill in the gaps with imagination.

The poorest person with internet access has an unfathomably bigger world than even the wealthiest and most educated Israelite priest or medieval king. You could spend your entire life in one small town on a remote island in the Pacific and know exactly what the pyramids of Giza look like. A medieval king of Iceland or Norway would merely read about the pyramids of Giza in the same book that says there are elephant-eating dragons in India, and they'd both be equally real to him.
