What is The Difference Between Oatmeal and Oat?

In reality, one study published in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that eating a low-glycemic-index diet is linked to lower insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes risk, and coronary artery disease risk than eating a high-glycemic-index diet.

Colon cancer is dreadful and can be excruciatingly painful. Researchers from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands combined their findings to show that people who consume a high fiber diet (mainly whole grains and cereals including oats) had a lower risk of colorectal cancer. This research included nearly 2 million people and discovered that adding 10 grams of fiber to one's diet reduces one's risk of colorectal cancer by 10%!
10. Antioxidany Function is Enchanced
Oatmeal is high in avenanthramides, a form of antioxidant found only in oats. Antioxidants are necessary because they protect your cells from free radicals, which are molecules that your body produces as a result of metabolism and exposure to toxins in the environment. Since free radicals are unstable, they boost the risk of cancer and heart disease.
Avenanthramides antioxidants reduce inflammation and increase nitric oxide production, which prevents artery hardening. In reality, a study published in 2010 in the journal "Nutrition and Cancer" found that avenanthramides in oats inhibited colon cancer cell spread.
Finally, it's important to understand that oatmeal comes in a variety of flavors. Oat Bran, Rolled Oats, Steel Cut Oats, Oat Groats, and other types of oats are available. They all have different flavors, nutritional values, and cooking times, in my opinion. Steel cut oats are often recommended for health reasons because they are higher in protein, iron, and fiber, and therefore take longer to digest, allowing you to stay fuller for longer. If you're pressed for time in the morning, fast oats are a good option.
11. Good for The Skin
Oats are high in zinc, which is beneficial in the fight against pimples.
Oats aid in the absorption of excess oil on the skin and are an important component of acne treatments. They also aid in the treatment of dry and itchy skin because beta-glucans moisturize the skin.
Oats can also help to lighten the skin tone by acting as an anti-tanning agent.

47. Staying up half the night to finish a game with them.
At first, Miranda think that Shepard’s relentless insomnia is her fault. Something she overlooked. A miscalculation somewhere that has created a serotonin imbalance, or maybe something has gone wrong with his cortisol or adrenal levels.
She first notices the problem after leaving Omega. She’d emerged from her cabin for a cup of tea to find Shepard sitting at a table in the silent mess, toying with a few crackers and scrolling through a datapad.
Concerning.
Since then it’s followed a pattern. He spends some nights in Mordin’s lab. The salarian needs so little sleep he’s almost always awake, and the two seem to get on rather well. Either that or his endless prattle leaves fewer silences to fill.
Other nights he stays in his quarters. She doesn’t have cameras in there, but EDI confirms he spends hours at his desk, sleeping in his chair – if he sleeps at all – as often as he does the bed.
She asks his permission to run tests. He denies it, growing more and more defensive each time she brings it up. So she stops asking. Once she goes to Mordin for his professional opinion, to which he good-naturedly replies, “Don’t discuss patient matters without consent.”
That at least suggests Mordin has discussed it. But judging from Shepard’s continued insomnia, he does not have a solution.
“Has he always slept poorly?” she asks Moreau. If it’s a chronic issue, that is at least new information she doesn’t have. She’s gleaned much from his service record and the intel the Illusive Man had provided her with, but behavioral patterns leave a large hole.
“I’m not his nanny,” Joker had replied, annoyed. Miranda knows better than to ask Dr. Chakwas. If the salarian won’t discuss it, Shepard’s physician certainly won’t. But she also isn’t helping him sleep.  
They treat Miranda like the enemy when she just wants to help. This was so much easier when she had full control. But he is not her project anymore. He is a fully functioning, stubborn and vexing individual.
And he’s not sleeping.
She’d been so thorough. Why is this one thing so out of place?
The deck of cards appears after Horizon. Miranda strategically gets a cup of tea right around the time Shepard usually wanders into the mess, and tonight he’s right on schedule. But Vakarian and Moreau are already sitting there, playing a game of War almost like they’ve been waiting for him.
“This is a stupid game,” Garrus tells Joker. “It’s pure chance if I can’t look at my cards. There’s no strategy. It’s mindless.”
“That’s the point,” Joker replies. “Play your card, coward.”
Miranda is baffled as to why either of them are still awake. After everything they dealt with on Horizon her body feels like lead, she had been in the lift when the turian fantasized in great detail about the sleep he planned to enjoy that night.
Shepard turns the coffee pot on and leans against the counter to watch them. His eyes are bleary and there’s a tremble in his hands that suggests a dose of stims.
Wait. Is he keeping himself awake?
Garrus’s glance shifts Shepard’s way. His mandibles quiver. “This is only a two-person game, right?”
“Yeah,” Joker says.
“Perfect, Shepard, care to join us?” Garrus gestures to the open seat beside him.
Shepard sits – more like oozes – into the seat, posture slouched with weariness. He blinks, listening but unfocused, as if keeping his attention in the room or even on the Normandy is too great a task. “What do we play?”
Joker eyes Miranda warily. “If Lawson joins in, we can play Horse.”
“What?” Garrus asks.
“Never heard of it,” Shepard says.
“I’ll teach you.”
Garrus flicks a mandible. “What’s a horse?”
“Kind of like those shifty cows we saw on Ontarom,” Shepard replies. “Only less likely to steal your credits.”
“Why not poker?” Miranda asks, cautiously taking a seat. Not because she wants to play, but because the chance to observe is not something she’s willing to turn down. Poker is at least a game she knows, and poses less risk she’ll make a fool out of herself.
“No,” Joker and Garrus say in unison. Joker shoots her a dirty look. Shepard stares at the table and scratches the back of his neck. Miranda shifts in her seat. She doesn’t know why the suggestion was offensive, but doesn’t argue. She’ll investigate it later.
“Teach me Horse,” Shepard says.
It’s a stupid game with too many nonsensical rules. Even though no one but Joker understands how Jacks work in this context, Shepard quickly proves his luck isn’t just confined to the battlefield.
“There’s no way Garrus had both rights,” Joker laments when Shepard successfully “horses” and takes every trick. She is still lost as to which Jacks are lefts and which ones are rights – she swears they change – or why Garrus gets to pass Shepard cards. But Shepard has something that might pass for a smile on his face, which is at least an improvement even if it doesn’t solve the sleep problem.  
When she finally bids them goodnight it’s 03:00 and she still can’t figure out why a Jack of clubs is sometimes considered a spade.
She’s exhausted, sore, still hasn’t completely evened out her electrolyte levels after her output on Horizon, and after that unpleasant confrontation with Shepard’s former crewmate, now has to do some digging into the significance of Commander Alenko before she can finish up her mission report for the Illusive Man.    
Shepard looks exhausted too, and this time she thinks he might actually go to his quarters and finally rest. But when Joker makes the suggestion he waves them off.
“You need sleep, friend,” Garrus says. There’s a gentle thrum in his subvocals that even Miranda finds soothing.
“There are so many stars,” Shepard murmurs, digging at his neck with stiff fingers, right where the seal of his helmet would be. His nails leave red streaks against his skin.
Miranda’s heart lurches as she finally understands. His cabin. The open shutters. Alchera. Shepard had died alone in the stars, the same stars that gleam down upon him while he tries to sleep.
So many pieces she had put back together, recreated with near flawless perfection, but she’d never once given thought to perhaps the most important ones. Ones she can’t touch and can’t repair.  
But his friends have.
She’s tolerated Vakarian with a vague sense of wariness and even disdain, mistrustful of his intentions, afraid of the influence he might have. But as the turian gingerly rubs Shepard’s back with his talons and some of the tension leaves the commander’s shoulders, she realizes just how greatly she has undervalued his presence.  
Likewise, she’s made the foolish miscalculation that Joker is only here for the ship.    
The pilot’s eyes are bloodshot, he can’t stop yawning and he needs a shave as much as he needs a good night’s sleep. But instead of calling it a night, Joker picks up the deck and starts to shuffle.
“My deal.”

So I’m doing a lot of work in and on comics lately
Professional and hobby. I am just so proud of the improvement I’m seeing in my work lately. All the hard work and years spent practicing anatomy, story telling, layout, color and light theory, and contour lines/line weight, I’m finally seeing it all come together to form work that I am honestly so excited about.
While the new results will not be shown to the public until January 8th (Bowiemas), I just wanted to thank and point other people towards some of the artists who have so greatly inspired me and that I’ve used as indirect teachers in my growth.
First and foremost, I have to give my absolute thanks and admiration to the lovely @colleendoran . Her comics, especially the series A Distant Soil, have become one of the central pillars on my “Future Goals”. The storytelling and characters, the way she artfully shows such emotion and layout design is nothing short of awe inspiring. She was one of the main inspirations behind the style in this piece:

And has absolutely been one of the biggest inspirations behind the Ziggy blog. Ziggy’s Aresian surname, Seren, is named after my favorite character of hers. The Aresian avatar, Aeryis, was also a nod to a few characters of the hierarchy in A Distant Soil, namely Sere and Niniri.

Idk about you guys, but I can definitely feel Colleen’s influence on my work in this set.
Another notable inspiration would be the work of @nielgaiman . While working on the story that will be released this upcoming Bowiemas, I was devouring books such as Stardust, Sandman, Snow Glass Apples, Coraline (a favorite to re-read) and Good Omens. Niel has such a way with words and atmosphere that I would love to achieve in my own work, and hope to use his influence to hone that skill.
The work of Wendy and Richard Pini was really what got me started on wanting to do more in comics. The narrative and colors used in Elfquest has captured my attention since I was in middle school, and they never cease to amaze me with their clothing designs and plot twists. I had the absolute pleasure of getting to meet both of them this summer, and it was one of the first and only times I found myself dumbstruck by the sheer “OH MY GOD ITS THEM” of it all. They were so kind and encouraged me to keep drawing.
And naturally, my list of major influences wouldn’t be complete without David Bowie. While that’s no big shock to anyone who has followed or even just glanced at my blog and portfolio, I really can’t stress enough how much David has meant to me. After he passed, it hurt my heart too much to truly delve into his work and characters as hardcore as I had been before, and it’s only just within the last few months that I’ve been sliding back into surrounding myself with his music and influence. I truly couldn’t thank him enough for the push he’s not only given my art towards improving, but for the sheer will to fight my screwed up serotonin levels and to love myself enough to keep on pushing through the tough times.
These artists are so very important to me, and I can’t express my gratitude enough for the guidance their work has given me. While I’m not anywhere near perfect yet, it’s such a fun thing to be able to look at the journeys and works of these brilliant people and know that one day I might be that good too.

Research finds healing your gut heals depression and anxiety
When we want to express a deep, core feeling or inner knowing — which part of our body do we instinctively mention?
It’s gut-wrenching. My gut tells me. A gut feeling, gut instinct, gut reaction.
These common expressions all center around one thing — your gut.
Would it surprise you to know that according to scientists, your health and even your happiness stem from your gut, too?
Your gut (called the “microbiome”) comprises more than 70% of your immune cells. Not only this, but your microbiome has a billion plus neurotransmitters that scientists have deemed “the second brain.”
This complex nervous system in your gut communicates with your brain and controls your mood, hormones, and how well your brain works.
Your gut health connects to depression, because the organisms that live in your gut (called microbiota) directly influence anxiety and depressive-like behaviors.
Your microbiota creates chemicals and hormones that are identical to the ones your brain uses to regulate mood — dopamine, serotonin, and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
The regulation of serotonin in your body is a key factor in managing depression, anxiety, and overall mood. Not only is the gut responsible for manufacturing almost 90% of your body’s serotonin, but your microbiome and brain are also in constant communication about how it is used.
In other words, any disruption to this process (like with a gut that is out of balance) will affect how your body makes, stores, and utilizes serotonin. This in turn directly affects mood and plays a role in developing depression.
Scientists are also finding distinct patterns inside the microbiota of Alzheimer’s patients.
Why Your Gut Health is So Important
The microbiome is a delicate ecosystem made up of trillions upon trillions of microbiota (intestinal flora). You actually have more microbiota in your body than you have cells. Combined they can weigh almost four and a half pounds!
This huge variety of organisms ranges from fungi to viruses to bacteria. In ideal cases, this diverse system of microbiota lives in harmony — each playing a specific role in balancing your gut.
However, when the amount of one type of microbiota is allowed to get too high or too low, either by “overgrowth”, or by dying off, your gut is said to be out of balance.
Probiotics for Depression
You probably already know, that “probiotic” means “for life”. The dictionary definition is: a substance which stimulates the growth of microorganisms, especially those with beneficial properties (such as those of the intestinal flora).
Current research shows how rebalancing your gut with probiotics can actually reverse disorders like anxiety and depression.

4 Litres of water minimum per day is needed for our bodies to function properly.

Temperature preferably room temperature/warm water allows your body to maintain homeostasis, optimally flushing out toxins and replenishing the cells.
We drink at once continuously to:
Rehydrate: After seven or eight hours of sleep, your body becomes dehydrated. Drinking water upon waking helps increase the flow of oxygen, and aids in the production of muscle and blood cells.
Jumpstart your metabolism: Drinking water in the morning can boost your body’s metabolism by about 24%, which can aid in maintaining a healthy weight.
Flush out your toxins: When you drink water in the morning before eating, you help to purify your colon, allowing nutrients to be absorbed more easily. Your kidneys also function better when you’re getting enough fluids.
Energise your brain: When you’re dehydrated, your brain is operating on low fuel. This can cause you to feel tired, drained, may lead to headaches, and you may even experience mood fluctuations.
Prevents & cures diseases: While you sleep your body repairs itself, replenishes energy and balances hormones. The result is toxins and other waste materials being released and waiting to be flushed out.
Be mindful that drinking water is one thing, however absorption & retaining is another.
Depending on nutrition & lifestyle factors, will govern the % of the water you drink that is being absorbed.
Salt intake, sugar, stress, coffee which will excite your nerves will have a connection to absorption. Along with your sleep regularity/patterns and of course the amount of toxins that you have in your body.
When you are constipated, this will not allow you to absorb the water.
Ironically the main cause of constipation is dehydration.
Drinking water when you wake up will not only cure dehydration but it will help relieve constipation, help to keep you regular and promote a morning bowel movement.
To check levels of dehydration, firstly you can watch the dryness of the mouth, if your lips are dry then you need more water. Also your urine if not clear/odourless it means you need more water to not only hydrate your body and cells but also to help your organs detoxify the waste you are holding onto.
Fruits and Vegetables
So here we come to the key aspect of healing, removing the impurities of the mind & deep connection to your true nature, which of course will allow much space for a pure practice.
Its a huge topic, massive industry, everybody has ‘the diet’ or ’the nutritional answer’ etc, so sometimes it can be difficult knowing what information to trust & how to discern.

It can be difficult to jump transition into a raw diet, so it must be taken slowly.
My teacher described the analogy that if you put a child into a room, with all different types of food, it will go for the natural food like fruits & vegetables that you can eat straight away without cooking/processed foods etc.
My teacher has recommended to read books/works by Dr T.C Fry & Herbert M. Shelton who champion the ideas of the Natural Hygiene health system. Would be worth having a look at for further research

Our digestive systems have got so conditioned to cooked food, let along sugary, spicy & salty foods.
With each food there will be 3 elements stored in the body: gross, middle and subtle elements. The gross will become manifested in our body to excrement, the middle part is transformed into flesh, and the subtlest part goes to form the mind.
So it would be fair to say (but perhaps not verifiable other than from direct experience itself which requires discipline) that certain foods carry specific energies that will affect your body on all of these 3 levels.
Almost like a code or vibrational frequency that has been inbuilt from the cosmic intelligence contained with each matter. Reading on the Yoga Sutras & other Yogic philosophies will help cement these ideas on mind, matter & energy.

Our systems are not used to the prana that comes in from Yogasanas (Mediation, Pranayama, and all other complimentary practices). Sometimes are unable to handle the nerve energy that comes in, unless your body & mind knows how to handle this energy then there will be wastage along with misdirection of prana spent. So the importance is clearly there that we need foods that can keep the prana balanced & stabilised.
Prana = the energy that flows in the nerves. Comes out both as physical + mental energy.

The Science of Staring at the Sun - The sun is the bringer of life to all existence on this planet.
The theory is that the sun is the force of all life, and staring at it can infuse the body with large amounts of energy.

Personal Experiences
I have been drinking 4 litres of water per day now for 8 weeks, physically my skin is really clear, I have less appetite than I had previously ( I was dehydrated before). My body feels much lighter & fresher. It’s hard to describe exactly the feeling other than I feel good, fresh and that I can actually feel my body is being cleaned out from past toxins.
I have experienced a deep detox which initially started in the first 2 weeks as physical digestive detox. Some unexplainable things have been happening for example, never ending diahorrea despite fasting with the old rotten meat coming out of my intestines ( that’s what the smell was like anyway - putrid !) it’s key to note that I haven’t eaten meat for over 12 years now. All sorts of junk that has been stored in my intestines for years.

Next was the emotional detox / neurological / psychological  (it’s still in process - I must have a lot of karma to resolve) which has been continuing now for 3-4 weeks. I can say since I have never detoxed in this way before, it’s hard to understand what is going on & why; the deeper spiritual reasons behind it. I know in the long run its worth it, to purify & clear out all the impurities of the body & mind once & for all.
To be able stop & remove any future disease from manifesting surely seems like a small temporary pain/discomfort price to pay. I’ll be completely transparent in saying that it really is not easy. Thank you to my Acharya for all her support, energy & guidance.

13 Revealing Signs You Are Overtraining And What to Do About It
Overtraining is a common problem among athletes and weight lifters. Those who are affected manifest symptoms of prolonged fatigue and performance that have decreased or leveled off .
Fitness and regular exercise is a good thing…except when overtraining signs sneak in. Here are 13 silent signs you may be overtraining—and what to do about it.
Overtraining 101
Only about 1 in 5 people get the regular (recommended) amount of exercise every week (approximately 150 minutes of moderate activity each week, or 75-minutes of intense exercise)—and YOU are one of them.  
Working out is like brushing your teeth (a regular part of your routine), and unlike other people who have to force themselves to go to the gym, you genuinely enjoy fitness—at least more than the average person. 
However, as with most things in life, too much of a good thing is not always a good thing—especially when it comes to overtraining (i.e. doing TOO much in the gym).
The result? Lack of progress and fitness gains, and not feeling on top of your A-game! 
The tricky thing? You may not always be aware that the signs of overtraining are actually related to your efforts to be “more fit.”
Are you overtraining? 
13 SILENT SIGNS YOU MAY BE OVERTRAINING 
1. Shortness of Breath
Altered respiratory function is a real sign of stress. While your heart rate and blood pressure can be completely “normal,” many over-trainees describe feeling like they have a “weight” in their chest or like their ability to breathe is constricted. This is typically due to the body’s internal “stress” response systems (“fight or flight”) and as your body’s cortisol levels are thwarted, so is your ability to breath normally (sort of as if you were to run from a bear).
When short or shallow breaths are taken one after the other, it becomes almost impossible to exhale completely, resulting in a buildup of carbon dioxide. This type of shortness of breath becomes cyclical, repeating itself, and is tied in to the release of norepinephrine and epinephrine (“adrenaline”) throughout the body. Adrenaline released when the body is under stress, and stimulate many organs in the body, including the lungs. The more advanced the stress, the more pronounced this can be.
2. Headaches or Brain Fog
A feeling of a cloud “looming” over your head is a completely normal and uncomfortable complaint of individuals in an overtrained state. Similar to the “adrenaline” response that happens when you have shortness of breath, the same thing happens (for your head) as the norepinephrine and epinephrine neurotransmitters are stimulated—more than other neurotransmitters—making you feel like you have a cloudy or foggy brain. Your body is unable to fire neurotransmitters (brain messengers) quite as fast. 
3. General Feeling of Weakness
Fitness is supposed to build you up—not break you down…unless you do too much of it. Consequently, despite putting the time into the gym, you end up declining in strength or plateauing (not gaining). You may even feel lightheaded or dizzy when you stand up, or get out of bed in the morning. This is called orthostatic hypotension.
This occurs when a person’s blood pressure falls when suddenly standing up from a lying or sitting position. It is defined as a fall in systolic blood pressure (the top number on a blood pressure reading) by at least 20 mm Hg or a fall in diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number on a blood pressure reading) of at least 10 mm Hg when a person assumes a standing position.
4. Apathy and/or Anxiety
You workout because it’s what you do, but a general mood of apathy or even low mood is present. Overtraining takes a toll on your hormones and your serotonin levels—often times suppressing the chemicals that make you feel good and happy. Since 95% of your serotonin (feel good brain chemicals) are produced in the gut, AND overtraining suppresses stomach acid, it makes total sense!
Anxiety is another common mood people experience as well. Can’t shake the nerves or thoughts in your head—no matter how much deep breathing or positive self talk you do? Feeling “wound up” or “wired” can be a sign of overtraining—wreaking havoc on your “balance.”
5. Low Libido
Speaking of low hormone levels, low libido or sex drive is another norm of overtraining. As cortisol levels impact your sex hormone balance and production, lovey dovey feelings are not on your radar.  
6. Irregular/Lack of Periods OR “Horrible” PMS
Amenorrhea or “lack of period,” irregular periods and hormone imbalances go hand in hand with overtraining. The LAST thing your body wants to do when it is stressed is have a baby (i.e. menstruate), OR “chill out.” It can’t chill out (enter: crazy cravings for chocolate and abdominal cramps leaving you curled up in the fetal position). 
7. Loss of Appetite
Low stomach acid from overtraining drives appetite and hunger cues DOWN. Cortisol also does the same. The (other) LAST thing your body wants to do when it is stressed is digest. 
8. Constipation and/or Bloating
Without enough stomach acid, constipation and bloating are ALSO a given. In addition, elevated cortisol suppresses and slows the process of digestion. Since optimal digestion occurs in a “rest and digest” (parasympathetic) state, if you don’t allow proper recovery for your body, you can bet your bottom dollar that digestive difficulties are a side effect. 
9. Eye & Muscle Twitching 
Muscle twitching is a common side effect from electrolyte imbalances. For nerve impulses to fire properly, there must be an adequate amount of sodium outside your cells and an ample supply of potassium inside the cell. (Sodium and potassium work as opposites).
With overtraining, too much sodium can be lost and too much potassium is retained. Thus, nerve transmission becomes abnormal and sporadic. This can cause muscle spasms and twitches. It also can cause problems like heart palpitations.
10. “Low Blood Sugar” Symptoms or Feeling Hangry Before Meals
Blood sugar feel like it tanks within 2-3 hours of eating? Feel shaky or lightheaded if you go a little too long between meals? Need frequent snacks? Snacks and eating are NOT a bad thing, but if your energy and blood sugar levels are continually riding a roller coaster, then you will feel the symptoms. Since cortisol “craves” sugar and needs glucose to keep fueled, then shortly after meals as blood sugar goes back to normal (but cortisol or stress still remains elevated), then your body will speak (in the form of “hanger”).  
11. Low Resting Heart Rate &/or Blood Pressure
A low heart rate or blood pressure are often praised in fitness world as “gold stars” of fitness. However, too much of a good thing is not always a good thing. As overtraining persists, low blood pressure, at rest or related to posture becomes more prevalent. It’s important to note: unlike high blood pressure, low blood pressure is defined primarily by particular low blood pressure symptoms (not by a specific blood pressure number itself).
For instance, regular runners (who are NOT overtrained), can generally have low blood pressure and at the same time can be quite healthy and asymptomatic. Some individuals may have a blood pressure of 86/50 with no low blood pressure symptoms and thus do not have low blood pressure clinically. However, others may develop low blood pressure symptoms if their training is “too much” for the body to handle.  Low blood pressure symptoms may include: dizziness (especially upon standing), brain fog, shortness of breath and even fainting episodes.
12. No muscle Soreness or Stringy Muscles
Simply put: Your muscles are in a “catabolic” (break down) state, and instead of “building up,” they are breaking down—unable to “build” muscle. 
13. Catch Colds or Allergy “Attacks” Easily
80%+ of your immune system is produced in your gut. As overtraining suppresses stomach acid production and healthy digestion, it can also disturb the health and balance of your gut bacteria. Hello poor production of your immune fighting cells AND more susceptibility to colds and allergies. 
WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: OVERTRAINING RECOVERY ACTION PLAN 
Overtraining is not a cut and dry diagnosis. It typically includes a collection of signs and symptoms like those described above, in conjunction with assessing and evaluating how you’ve been spending your time in the gym and what you really have been doing.
The good news?
You CAN feel amazing, and not only get back to feeling like “yourself” again, but actually accelerate your fitness MORE when overtraining is addressed—head on. 
Here are 5 simple action steps to get started with an overtraining recovery action plan.
1. Take a Time Out
As difficult and challenging as it may be to say “stop” to your usual routine, taking ONE day (at the very least) to press the “pause” button, and consider the training you’ve been doing—and how that may be impacting your health.
In order to get off the “hamster wheel,” this first step is crucial. Even more telling? Keeping an exercise or training log for one week, then assessing the facts. When you look at the break down, what comes to mind?
Also consider the nutrition and recovery factors present (or lack thereof). If you were to coach someone else on improving their own fitness—as if they were following your current plan— do you see any gaps or missing links?
2. Gain Vision
What are your goals any how? What is your “why” (why you train in the first place?!). While you’re at it (assessing your current training), check in with yourself: What are my training goals? And how do I best get there? (You often know the answers).
3. Optimize Nutrition.
It’s been guesstimated that “workout results are 80% nutrition” While there are no black and white rules solidifying this assertion, what you do OUTSIDE the gym, greatly affects  what happens inside the gym (or trail, or road, etc.). That said, are you under-eating? If you’re not eating to support your level of training, you are only shooting yourself in the foot. A good way to assess if you’re eating enough as a baseline for your training is to take your bodyweight x 12-14, then add approximately 300-500 calories for the active lifestyle you lead.
This will give you a range of caloric intake. In addition, a balance of proteins, carbs and fats is also essential, and if you’re neglecting any one of these food groups, then your body can be eating but STILL STARVING (i.e. getting enough calories, but not enough nutrients). At each meal, aim to incorporate:
Sustainable Protein Source (chicken, fish, beef/bison, eggs)
Variety of Vegetables
Starchy Tubers (approximately 1-3/day)
Healthy Fats
Carbs and fats may very slightly in the amounts you eat (some people feel better on higher carb, whereas others feel best on higher fat), but generally speaking, a balance of all three macronutrients can boost nutrition.
Lastly, beyond calories and macros alone, take your nutrition to the next level with these nutrient-dense foods and a few key supplements (for better recovery):

Incorporate yoga into your routine 1 or 2 times per week, in lieu of ANOTHER complete training day
Get some “body work” (i.e. physical therapy/manual therapy) done
Acupuncture
Bio-feedback and mindfulness practice
Carving out MORE time for people (in place of ANOTHER training time)
Reading a good book
Tai Chi, Qui  Chong, or Martial Arts
MeditationPrayer
Meal prep and organization
Hot-Cold Therapy (“fire and ice”)
Sauna
Time spent in fresh air outdoors
