WANTED: Young woman willing to work as narrator-protagonist in YA first-person story. Preferred qualifications:

Likes her own appearance and is pleased but not surprised when others find it likable

Actively enjoys being around other people

Is confident in her own principles and decisions; doesn't waffle

Reacts to men as human beings first, and as People She Might Be Attracted To as a distant second

(And by this I mean "I have read too many books recently that tick two AT MOST of these boxes and I might have to create a character filling these criteria myself, out of spite")

#there is nothing wrong with grumpy undersocialized and/or introverted narrators i've just hung out with too many lately :P #and gosh DANG it can i get a female narrator who likes herself and sticks to her guns at the same time? maybe??#...i have also read a couple mediocre hoopla books lately which aren't BAD but. aren't very good. yes i get it that's your love interest #he's getting in the way of the story #move him aside i want to hear about your assessment of the situation as NOT clouded by your crush
