complicated â hamzahthefantastic
3. brown eyes at the entrance
contains: goofy drunk hamzah, quick mention of sex but no actual nsfw content in this one
summary: what do you do when your ex shows up at your front doorstep?
a/n: short but i just wanted to post hi
last part: with you all night
you left hamzahâs apartment that morning feeling more confused than ever. you two ate breakfast together and then you were out the door. he hadnât even asked to hangout again or talked about breaking the whole âno contactâ thing. he simply said he enjoyed the night with you and told you to have a good day.
how could he spend such an intimate night with you and not ask to see you again?
as hard as it was, you tried to be nonchalant about the situation. you could hook up with your ex in a casual way, right?
you call mandy, practically begging her to meet you for coffee.
now you were at your local cafe, anxiously walking up to the table you spotted mandy at.
ây/n! hey!â she said excitedly. you can almost see her eyes analyzing your facial expressions as you walk up to her. âso whatâs up? you look like youâve got something to tell me.â
âoh, itâs definitely..something.â you laugh nervously, âi uh, ended up talking to hamzah last nightâŚâ
âoh thatâs great!â she interrupts, âdid you get any sort of closure?â
âyeah, about thatâŚi actually ended up going back to his place..â
she sighs at your confession.
âand we had sex but listen! i know that it was probably a bad idea but being around him again- it like made my brain go all fuzzy and all common sense went out the window.â you ramble, trying to defend yourself.
ây/n, i told you to go out on the balcony to get closure, not to hookup with him!â, she shakes her head at you. âbut i get it. you guys have history, youâre comfortable with him. itâs easy to go back in that situation.â
âexactly! it was so comfortable! it felt like how things used to be. so now, iâm all confused because i thought i had finally gotten over him. and thereâs matthewâŚâ
âthe guy you said was boring?â she questions.
âhe is a bit boring but heâs nice- stable.â
âbut what are you gonna do now? keep seeing him?â
âugh, i donât know. i guess i should end things with him- because clearly i have not moved on from hamzah yet.â
she nods slowly, deep in thought. âyou think youâll get back with hamzah again?â
âi donât know,â you let out a harsh breath. âsometimes i think that maybe if we tried again, things would be different. like weâd be able to figure it out this time.â
she smiles softly.
âbut today, he didnât ask to meet again or ask how he could contact me or anything so i donât even know if he wants to try again.â you shrug your shoulders.
âhonestly, y/n, you might want to figure that out before cutting things off with matthew.â
she was right. you didnât want to ruin a good thing simply for the possibility of getting back with your ex.
after another thirty minutes of catching up over coffee, she reminds you to keep her updated before the two of you part ways.
as you start driving home, your phone rings.
*incoming call: matthew*
âhey babe, you never texted me when you got home?â he questioned, his voice concerned.
you let out a soft sigh, âyeah, sorry- i went to sleep right when i got home.â
âyou feeling better today?â
âyeah, yeah i think i just had a migraine or something.â
âgood! i was actually wondering if you wanted to get dinner tonight?â his voice is hopeful.
he was kind and cute and he knew what he wanted. how could you say no?
âsure! were you gonna pick me up on the way or should i meet you somewhere?â you ask, a soft smile creeping on your face.
âiâll pick you up at six. oh- and wear something fancy! i wanna take you to a nice place.â
you agree and say your goodbyes. you were excited to get dressed up and be taken out. you hoped that this dinner would change things- show you how interesting and exciting matthew really is, helping you move on from the chaos of hamzah.
âŚ
the restaurant matthew had chosen was beautiful. the warm candlelight and low jazz music playing in the background creating such a romantic atmosphere.
he sat across from you, retelling a story about a hike he had went on.
you could tell he was making an effort. telling you this story with you in an attempt to share something meaningful with you. feel closer to you.
but as he kept talking, your mind kept slipping into memories with hamzah. you thought of how beautiful his face looked when illuminated by candlelight. the way his smile had always been on the edge of a smirk.
hamzah knew exactly how to pull you into each of his stories. he entertained you effortlessly. just one of his jokes could leave you clutching your stomach in laughter.
âand then i was there, completely lost.â he chuckles slightly as he ends his story.
âoh my god, that mustâve been so scary.â you reply, doing your best to give him energy.
he smiled softly as he looked into your eyes. âthatâs what iâve always loved about hiking though- you never know what adventureâs around the corner.â
âyeah.â you respond, smiling sweetly while all you can think about is how hamzah wouldâve made fun of that corny line.
âyou okay? you seem distracted.â matthew said, watching you as he took a bite of his steak.
âoh! yeah iâm fine, i just had a long day.â you explain, telling yet another lie.
âi get it.â he smiles, âno worries.â
god, did he have to be so kind and patient? itâd make you feel much less guilty if he was a complete asshole.
no, he was everything you should want. he was sweet, understanding, and so open with you.
but there was no allure. no mystery. no edge. all of the surface-level conversation you two were having was driving you absolutely insane.
âwell, i actually had something to ask you.â he broke the silence.
you look up at him, nervously waiting for him to continue.
âiâm going on a trip to seattle next week. itâs completely covered by my job and i have a plus one. i know itâs a bit last minute but i wanted to know if youâd like to join me?â
traveling together would change this âcasual dating thingâ, into something more serious. something you were definitely not ready for. not yet.
you clear your throat to speak, âcan i uh- think about it? it sounds super fun, i just have a lot of school work and stuffâŚâ
he nods. âyeah, just let me know whenever you decide.â
âthank you.â you smile.
after finishing dinner, he drives you back home. he thanks you for the night, explaining what a great time he had with you.
he walks you to the front of your apartment complex and presses a gentle peck to your lips before telling you goodnight.
as you ride the elevator up to your apartment, you decide that you have to end things with matthew. you couldnât go on that trip with him and lead him on any more than you already have. it was unfair of you to be constantly comparing him to hamzah. the truth was that there nothing wrong with him at all- you were the only person to blame in this situation.
you look up as you start walking toward your apartment to see hamzah leaned up against the wall next to your front door. his head tilted back, eyes closed- simply waiting.
âhamzah? what are you doing here?â you say, your voice coated in shock.
his eyes are low. a goofy smile plastered on his face. he was either drunk or high, or both.
âyou look pretty.â you can practically hear his smirk.
you stand directly in front of him. âare you drunk?â you ask as you cross your arms in front of your chest.
âa little bitâ, he laughs. âand maybe a little bit high but listen- i just wanted to see you.â
âoh and this couldnât wait until you were, i donât know, lessâŚdrunk?â
he shrugged, âbut you were out with ânew guyâ, whatâs his name?â
âmatthew.â you roll your eyes at him. âhowâd you know i was out with him anyway?â
âmandy mightâve mentioned that you texted her about it.â he grins, âi think watching paint dry might be more exciting than going on a date with that guy. i couldnât let you go home and just be with that kind ofâŚenergy.â
you bit your lip, trying not to laugh. âhamzah, you canât just show up at my door every time you think i should be around better âenergy.â
âoh i canâ, he shoots back at you. âitâs actually one of my best skills- showing up uninvited and reminding you of how fun i am.â
âyouâre unbelievable.â you laugh, already feeling defeated by his charm.
âand yetâ, he pauses. âhere you are, laughing. iâve still got it.â a cocky grin creeps on his face. you canât help but laugh.
âyouâre so full of yourself.â you shake you head, smiling.
âi just feel confident around you, thatâs all.â
âoh really?â you tilt your head to the side.
âcâmon, y/n. tell me the truth- was he as funny as me?â
âno.â you admit, rolling your eyes.
âas charming?â he pushes.
âalso, no.â you answer.
âthen what are we doing here?â he lifts his hands up dramatically. âwhy are you spending your night with boring olâ matthew when you couldâve had all this?â he gestures to himself, that goofy smile of his still lingering on his face.
âhamzah. you are being ridiculous.â you reiterate.
âdid you mean ridiculous-ly hot and sexy or?â he canât help but laugh at his own joke.
you shake your head and roll your eyes once again, still unable to contain the smile that seemed stuck on your face.
âyou are impossible to argue with.â you tell him.
âis that a yes to me coming in?â he asks, a hopeful look in his eyes. âplease? iâll just sleep on the couch or even, the floor. whatever you want me to do.â
âyou came here to sleep on my couch?â
âi just want to be around you.â he whined.
how could you say no to those brown puppy-dog eyes of his? and you couldnât send him home drunk- that wasnât safe. you just had to let him in.
âfine. get inside before i change my mind.â you tease as you unlock your front door.
the second you two get inside, he walks over to the couch, flopping onto it and stretching out with a smug look on his face. âsee? look how harmless i am?â
âmhm, very harmless.â you say as you grab a blanket.
you start tucking him in with the fluffy blanket until he grabs your hand, looking into your eyes. âthank you for letting me in.â
âyeah, well youâre just lucky iâm too tired to kick you out.â you joke.
âyeah, lucky.â he repeats, his voice soft as his thumb rubs your hand softly.
just from the way his gentle touch and low voice had such an effect on you, you knew you were in trouble all over again.

Car Sex (Matt)
Request: your writing makes me go wild. would you be able to write something about the reader and matt dating , so they get like zero privacy and fuck in the car the idea has been rotting my brain i fear/Matt takes you for a late-night drive and you end up fucking in the backseat/Earned It by The Weeknd plays on aux in Matt's car. Both Matt & y/n get in the mood, proceed to fuck in the car the rest of the night/Teasing Matt while heâs driving smut
Warnings: Sex, slight overstimulation, car sex, road head, fingering, cum eating, cute fluffy little moment at the end
Mattâs pov
I love living with my brothers, I really do, but I hate that they donât know what privacy is. Y/n, my girlfriend of 3 years, lives with us as well, me and her have the master bedroom, which is the biggest. As much as I love my brothers, I donât love when Nick literally steals Y/n away when weâre having movie nights or cuddling. And I most definitely fucking hate it when Chris ALWAYS ruins the mood, even if we lock the door heâll pound on it until we open it. Sometimes heâll even come into our room at night just to sleep next to me like when we were younger, thank god Y/n loves them both as much as I do, or else shit would be awkward.
Tonight I had planned for us to go see a movie at the drive-in, I even put down the seats in the back of her SUV and put blankets and squishmallows (Y/nâs favorite) as pillows back there to make it comfy. Nick and Chris had tried to invite themselves but I wasnât going to let them ruin another one of my dates just because they think of Y/n as a little sister. Y/n and I hadnât seen each other all day, we were both super busy so we were really looking forward to tonight but we definitely had an unexpected change of plans. When Y/n got back from her day with Madi she took a shower and got dressed in some comfy clothes, opting to blow dry her hair because it was cold outside.
I love seeing her like this when she only wears mascara and that damn strawberry lipgloss that I love so much along with some sweatpants and a sweatshirt. God, it was my favorite look on her, especially when the sweater sheâd wear was mine. I was wearing basically the same thing but I had a backwards fitted on as well. It was starting to get dark so we decided to leave, the universe however, clearly didnât want us to go on a fucking date because when we started driving on the freeway towards the drive-in theater, it started pouring, meaning all movies were now canceled. âFuck, man! Why canât I just take my girlfriend out on a decent date!â I yelled, hitting the steering wheel.
Y/nâs pov
I understand why Matt got mad, but honestly, there was no reason for him to be, I was already just enjoying being alone with him right now. âBabe itâs okay, we can still go up to that one private view. And we can watch something on my Macbook, itâs still in my car from yesterday. Letâs make the most of our alone timeâ I told him while rubbing his arm. Matt just nodded, clearly upset that his plan got ruined by the weather, âPlus I can finally makeout with you and not have to worry about getting interruptedâ I added, half-joking.
Matt still looked upset so I moved my hand onto his thigh, I saw Matt quickly glance at me but neither of us said anything. I kept my hand there while I changed the playlist to a more relaxed and vibey one, occasionally tightening my grip on his thigh. I noticed the way that simple action got to him as he slowly started to get hard. We were almost to the overlook so I decided to start teasing Matt a bit, we hadnât been able to have sex for a while so I moved my hand to rest over his growing hard-on. âY/nâ he said in a warning tone, âMatthewâ I tested back with a smirk.
I started rubbing Matt over his sweatpants as we started driving up the little mountain when Earned It by The Weeknd started playing. This song seems to always get us in the mood so I decided to slip my hand into Mattâs sweatpants, lightly squeezing and rubbing his cock over his boxers. The car stopped and the music ended as Matt threw it in park and took the keys out of the ignition. He grabbed my wrist, pulling it out of his pants, and clicked the thing to unbuckle both of our seatbelts before he grabbed my jaw turning me to face him.
âWhy are you always such a fucking teaseâ he asked in frustration, âBecause I miss being able to touch my boyfriend whenever I want. I miss your cock Mattyâ I whined back as a response. Matt sighed, knowing I was right and he missed that too, but still pressed a very needy kiss to my lips. âFuck I missed this side of you! Get in the back for me princess, weâre gonna take advantage of this alone timeâ he smirked as he kicked off his shoes. I did the same before hoping in the back through the center console area, Matt followed right after he took off his fitted.
âHiâ he giggled âHi Mattâ I giggled back, Matt looked at me with a smirk while biting his lip as he turned on the overhead light like they do in car videos. âStop looking at me like that, youâre making me nervousâ I blushed as he scooted closer to me, âI want you to get naked for me so I can finally feel your tight pussy around my cock againâ he whispered in my ear before helping me take my hoodie off. We both took our sweats off as well, as well as my panties, Matt had pushed me so my back was against the door behind the driverâs side, sitting to the right of me.
He gripped my jaw, pulling me closer and mumbling, âGod, I missed thisâ before smashing our lips together. Matt did this one thing that makes me literally go feral, he straddles me and essentially sits on my lap. I literally find it so fucking hot when he does that, especially when heâs the dominant one. I immediately moved one hand to start palming his hard cock, moving my kisses down his jaw to his neck where I sucked multiple hickies into the skin, probably more than I shouldâve.
âThatâs right baby, mark me up and claim me so everyone knows Iâm yoursâ Matt groaned before pulling my head up to makeout again. This time the makeout was rough and wet, full of clashing teeth and needy tongues. Moans were exchanged between each otherâs mouths until Matt pulled away, due to me starting to jerk him off over his boxers. âBabe donât d-do that, youâre gonna make me cum before I can even get inside of youâ he mumbled before moving us to lay down. âThen take your boxers off and fuck me already, I need it so bad Mattyâ I whined in frustration, making him laugh as we moved so I was laying down.
âMhm I forgot how bossy you can be, Iâve missed it but I gotta stretch you out first babeâ he said while hovering over me, slipping his right hand between our bodies. He ran his fingers through my folds, âWho got you this wet babyâ he teased cockily as he brought up his shiny wet fingers. âYou did! You did Matt, missed your cock so muchâ I whined before he shoved those two fingers into my mouth, making me taste myself. âSuckâ he demanded, causing me to moan around his fingers, âThatâs right baby, make those fingers nice and wet for me, even though you donât really need toâ he added, smirking at me.
Once Matt deemed my fingers wet enough, he stuck them both into me, groaning at how I could barely take his two fingers. After a couple of minutes of stretching me out I had to stop him, âMatt, I think Iâm stretched out enough and if you donât stop Iâm going to end up cumming on your fingers instead of your cockâ I whined. âAlrightâ is all he replied with, taking his fingers out and putting them in his mouth âMmm fuck, I love the way you tasteâ he added before pulling down his boxers.
Matt leaned down to start sucking hickies onto my boobs as he eased himself into me but I wasnât here for slow sex. I wrapped my legs around his waist and pulled him closer so his cock slammed into me âShit baby, youâre so tightâ he groaned. Matt started to slowly thrust into me, letting me get used to his size, âMatty please stop being gentle, need you to really fuck me!â I whimpered out. That was all Matt needed to hear before he ruthlessly started pounding into me. Itâs a good thing nobody really knows about this place because if anyone came up here theyâd definitely know we were having sex.
The car was shaking, windows were fogged up, and Iâm sure our lewd moaning could be heard from outside of the car. I pulled Mattâs head away from my neck, where he was leaving lots of hickies to match his neck, and placed our lips together. I started sucking on Mattâs tongue and running my tongue across the roof of his mouth, two things that drive him absolutely insane. He let out a deep, throaty groan as his left arm, my favorite because of the tattoos, came up to start toying with my nipples, pinching them and rolling them between his fingers.
âBabeâ FUCK- pl-please choke me! Iâm so close, I just need a little bit moreâ I moaned as we pulled apart, one of my hands was scratching down Mattâs back while the other was tightly gripping his hair. âYeah? Want me to choke you so you can cum for me? Gonna cum on my cock while I fill you up?â he rambled out between grunts. His left hand wrapped tightly around my throat, applying just the right amount of pressure as Mattâs thrusts got both faster and harder.
âShit! Matt, cum with me!â I moaned right before I came hard around his cock. After a few more thrusts, Matt let out an animalistic growl as he shot his load into me. I didnât even have time to calm down from cumming when Matt did something heâs never done before. He pulled out and immediately went down and started eating me out as both of our cum oozed out of me, heâs literally never eaten me out after cumming in me before. And as amazing as this felt I was already feeling overstimulated, considering I didnât get to come down from my first high.
Mattâs Pov
I missed eating Y/n out so much that when we both finally came I couldnât control myself, she hadnât even caught her breath before I went down on her. Usually, I would have never even thought about eating Y/n out after cumming in her, I always do it before we fuck, but today I was just in the moment. It honestly might sound disgusting, but my own cum tastes pretty good, and mixed with hers itâs just 10x better. âFuckâ Matt! M-Matt, stop Iâm too sen-sensitive!â Y/n moaned about me as she pulled on my hair and kept trying to wriggle away.
I was in such a daze right now that I got fed up with her continuous moving. I slapped Y/nâs thigh pretty hard, a lot harder than I intended anyway, and pulled away for a second. âY/n, stop fucking moving! Iâm finally getting to give my sexy ass girlfriend head and Iâm not stopping!â I growled out. Grabbing her thighs, I held them down as I started sucking our cum out of her pussy before I started fucking it with my tongue.
Y/n pulled my hair as I was sucking on her clit, causing me to groan against her. âMhm Matt Iâm gonna cum againâ FUCK!â she cried out as she came all over my face. I let her actually catch her breath and come down from her high this time while I put my boxers and sweats back on since we needed to go home soon. It was now about 2:45am and I was exhausted, âI love you so much Y/n, I missed doing thisâ I said right before I softly kissed her, helping her put her panties back on.
âGod, that was so hot babe! I totally wasnât expecting you to do thatâ she said, still in shock. I felt myself slowly starting to get hard again while I put my shirt back on, helping Y/n/n get dressed. I gave her another soft kiss before climbing back into the front, offering Y/n my hand so she could do the same before putting my hat back on. âAre you ready to go back home princess?â I asked softly, placing a short kiss on her lips with a smile. âMmm, I dunno. I think I need another kissâ Y/n replied softly, the only sound to be heard was the pitter-patter of the rain against the SUV.
We shared a few more soft kisses, smiling into them, but I had to pull away before we started making out again. âAll better?â I asked, getting a hum back as an answer before I started driving. âHey Matty, are you still hard?â Y/n pouted, âUhh ye-yeah, donât worry about it though. You just looked so hot and fucked out after I ate you out that I got hard again. Itâs not a problemâ I nervously replied back, not wanting her to think it wasnât good enough.
Before I knew it, Y/n had her hand in my sweats and was teasingly rubbing my cock. âBabe-â I started but Y/n cut me off, âYouâre gonna say âyou donât have to do thatâ and I know, but I want toâ she said in a dominating tone. I just stayed quiet, knowing I wouldnât win this fight. I was at a stop light when Y/n moved to lean over the center console and pulled my dick out making my breath hitch at both her cold hand and the air. I was at a loss for words as Iâve never gotten road head before and Y/n usually isnât this bold or dominating.
âY/n/n, what are you doing?â I asked in a panic as she spit on my cock, spreading it and the precum across my throbbing cock. âShut up and drive Matthewâ she said before taking my tip into her mouth. Unexpectedly, she deepthroated me causing my grip on the wheel to tighten and my breathing to pick up. Y/n started to hollow out her cheeks, creating a tight suction around my cock as she moved back up to suck on the head again. She started humming around my cock causing me to whimper as I tried to maintain focus on the road, which thankfully was empty.
âYou like that, donât you Mattyâ she asked in a seductive voice before going back to sucking me off, âY-Yeah, but itâs- fuck- itâs hard to focus on the road when youâre doing thatâ I whined back. âB-But donât stop, please donât fucking stop!â I added as I was getting closer to cumming. Thankfully we had just stopped at another red light, I pushed her head all the way down on my cock, causing her to gag and holding it there while I came down her throat. âShitâ So good for me baby! Fuck, just like that!â I groaned loudly as she swirled her tongue around the tip before pulling off with a pop.
Y/n swallowed my cum before tucking my, now soft, dick back into my pants. âThe lights green Mattyâ she laughed, pulling me out of my trance, âHuh? Oh shitâ I said when I realized the was, in fact, now green. The rest of the way home, we sat in a comfortable silence and held hands on the center console. When we pulled up into the driveway, I got out and rushed to the other side to open Y/nâs door. What I didnât expect was for her to take off my hat and grab me by the collar of my shirt before kissing me in the pouring rain.
As cheesy as it sounds, it was like a scene straight out of a movie, us standing there kissing while our hair and clothes got wet, stupidly smiling into the kiss. Unfortunately, unlike the movies, we got interrupted after like 3 or 4 minutes by none other than, you guessed it! Nicolas Sturniolo, âCan you guys stop fucking making out and come inside? Itâs late, you were supposed to be back hours ago!â both me and Y/n let out a groan before walking inside. âSorry dad, we got busyâ Y/n joked, âI am NOT your father, this isnât fucking Star Warsâ Nick replied dramatically. As expected, we found Chris in our room on his phone.
âOutâ is all I said while rolling my eyes, âAnd a hello to you too Matthewâ he replied sarcastically, finally looking up at us. âWhy are you wet?â he asked but Y/n just grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to the door. âIâm cold and want to change, get out or Iâll suck Mattâs dick again in front of youâ she said shoving him out. âAgain!?â both my brothers questioned, âYeah, again! Deadass had to fuck my girlfriend in the car on a mountain because you two fuckers donât give us any privacy!â I yelled at them slamming and locking the door. Y/n just giggled, pulling me to our closet to get changed before we laid down. Finally getting to cuddle and have the rest of the day to ourselves without any annoying distractions.

I LIKE THE WAY YOU KISS ME- M.S
FWB!Matt X FWB!POC!Reader
SUMMARY~ After a one night stand with your best friend Matthew, you both (he) decide that it would be best not to hook up for your relationships sake. But damn you made it hard in that little dress you were wearing. Litteraly âŚ
â ď¸WARNINGâ ď¸~ Back shots, degrading, slight choking, kinda asshole Matt toward the end
âDo I stress you out? Can I help you out? Does it turn you on when I turn you round?â
đ.
âitâs nothing personal, I just⌠I just donât wanna ruin our friendship and make things weirdâ
Matt explained as you two sat beside each other on the couch in your apartment. His tone was gentle as he gave his explanation, and waited for you to say something. Although you knew this had to have been coming, you were selective with who you had sex with. After the two of you hooked up you expected a romantic relationship, and in turn he reminded you that what you guys had was a friendship. A slap in the face is what that felt like.
âhello?â
Matt questioned. You had been so focused on how embarrassed you felt that you didnât even think to respond. Was the sex bad? Pfttt, no neverâŚ
âyou good kid?â
âYeah sorry. No, I get it!â
âWell yall finna see each other tonight right? Tell him what you feelinâ
Your best friend ranted as she set on the edge of your bed, looking at you through the mirror of your vanity as you got ready. You applied lip liner to your top lip before rolling your eyes.
âI ainât doing all that. I donât wan to push that on him. He has his own things going on. Plus, heâs talking to some girl in Boston. Jus wan him to be happyâ
You and your best friend Tasha exited the Uber you were taking, Tasha stumbling a bit onto the round driveway in front of this elaborate house. Jake Webber, one of your friends, invited you to his birthday party. Trashy loud cyber pop blasted as you approached the house, red solo cups and underdressed people littered the lawn as you walked through the double doors
You two walked in, and immediately you were hit with strobing lights. You looked over to Tasha, but she was already being taken by a tall man with curly hair. She winked and waved before disappearing into the crowd of people. You scoped the place out before spotting the kitchen, and soon you were slivering through a group of people to get to the kitchen. You saw a bottle of Hennessy and immediately began to pour. You took a large portion down from the solo cup you poured it into before making a sour face. âthat was⌠a lotâ
A familiar voice mumbled behind you. You turn to see Matt standing behind you with a root beer in his hands. You laughed a bit before setting the red solo cup down on the counter. Mattâs eyes began to drift down your body, then he stepped forward. Your eyes widened as he looked like he was about to kiss you, but in turn he really was pulling your dress down. It had rode up your thighs, so he reached his hand behind your thigh to pull it down a bit.
âyour ass was about to fall outta thatâ
Matt whispered into your ear, moving the hand that had pulled your dress down to your lower back. You blinked, before opening your mouth to say something before closing your mouth again. What the hell were you supposed to say? Before you could gather all of your thoughts, he pulled you closer. Thats when you felt it.
You felt his hard dick press against your thigh. Your eyes widened once again. You cleared your throat before looking at Matt. Is this man on something?!
âSo, uh howâs it going with Katrina?
You said, desperate to change the topic. You reached for the Hennessy, pouring up again and taking the solo cup into your hand. Despite your attempt to change topics, the tension was undeniable at this point. He looked at you, squinting one eye and shaking his head a bit.
âyou donât careâŚâ
âI donât careâ
You giggled as you took the Hennessy down. I mean, this isnât right. He has a girl who heâs talking to. Sheâs probably sweet. But heâs looking at you like he wants you to throw all of your morals out of the windowâŚ
ButâŚ. Who said you have morals in the first place?
â Shit! M-Ma- â
You moaned as Matt gave you the most delicious back shots. Tears were falling from your eyes onto the pillow of a vacant room Matt had taken you to. Mattâs right hand snaked up to your mouth to cover it, meanwhile his left sat religiously on your hip. â Moaning like that for everyone to hear? what a cock slutâ
âFuck off Ma-Ma-â
you choked out as his hips snapped against your ass, his balls hitting your clit deliciously. Matt grunted before a smirk appeared on his face.
â donât be mean to me baby, mâgiving you good dick right now â
he said in a faux sad tone. You screamed out when the hand that was on your face went down to your clit, rubbing in circles at an insane speed.
â you like that shit, yeah ?â
Matt chuckled before his right hand now grabbed your hair and pulled your head back for you to look at him. Your hair that was once straightened, now curly due to being sweat out, beads of sweat gathering all over your face, mascara running, lipstick smudged, and lazy eyes shown how fucked out you were. Matt said something, but you couldnât really hear it, your ears were ringing. You were just so high of the feeling of Mattâs dick stretching your tight cunt as he pounded into you from behind.
â you cock whore, taking it so good â
he said, releasing the hair he had in a tight hold. That resulted her your head dropping down, snapping you back into reality. That hand returned to your clit, running moderate circles around it. The band in your stomach familiarly began to strain and tighten.
âMatt! Mâgo-gonna cumâ
thatâs when the fingers he had on your clit began to move in faster. A you let out a loud strained moan as you creamed on his cock. A few thrusts later, he came in his condom, filling it up with his cum. After a few minutes, he slowly slipped his large cock out making you suddenly feel like your missing something. You roll over, only to see Matt tossing the condom in the trash and putting his clothes on. I mean, at least he could see if you were okay?
As soon as he was dressed, he began to walk to the door, not saying a word.
â bye?â
You spoke out, covering yourself with some of your clothes near by.
â bye. Oh hey, donâtâŚDonât bring this up, okay? Donât wan this getting back to Katrinaâ
He spoke before walking out of the room. What the fuck just happened?!

'TILL DEATH DO WE PART (KIND OF)
pairing. sasappis x ghost-bride!reader
summary. the afterlife wouldnât have been too bad if you hadnât accidentally killed yourself along with your no-good husband. now you were stuck with a bitter taste in your mouth and his voice in your ear. luckily, the band of ghosts at woodstone favored you over him.Â
warnings. dead!reader, mention of murder, toxic previous relationship, the patriarchy :(
word count. 1k || masterlist
âWatch the wine. Donât let the women near the glasses,â Matthew said, his words low and drawn out to make his point. You rolled your eyes, itching to kill him all over again.Â
It wasnât that you believed murder was a good solution to one issue. You, all of your life, had prided yourself on your good morals and ladylike ways of the time. But when your parents forced marriage upon you with a rich, horribly ill-mannered, terrible man, murder seemed like the only viable solution. Without a husband, youâd go nowhere in society, but as a newlywed window, you garner the sympathy of the town along with funds that your father would gain due to the terms and agreements of the marriage. He, while a stern man, certainly would have set you up for life with the inheritance and you could have lived the rest of your days reading in a garden happily.Â
Unfortunately, you had forgotten which glass you had poisoned and poured some into your own, thinking it was his. When everyone toasted at your wedding, you and him took your final breath and joined the odd group of the fellow deceased at Woodstone. Fate had forced you into an afterlife listening to Matthew bitch and moan at every given opportunity. If you could kill him again, you would.Â
âThey seem rather in love,â you said, hands locked together on your lap. âI doubt weâll have anyone else join us tonight.âÂ
When a wedding was thrown at the mansion, you felt bitter at the happy matrimonies. You understood that times changed and progression was a wonderful thing, but you wished for the ability to marry of your own choice back when you were alive. You would have lived longer, no doubt, and maybe even found someone who loved you beyond a business arrangement. Â
âYou know, you donât have to be here,â Trevor said to Matthew, annoyance clear in his tone.Â
Matthew shrugged and tossed you a dirty look. âI simply want to observe what I did not get, thanks to my wife.â The way he said the title made your skin crawl; he dangled it over your head, and talked about how that meant - even in the afterlife - that he owned you.Â
Sam, the lovely modern woman she was, had dispelled that notion and told you that marriage was not about ownership but partnership. Even if it wasnât legal, you had denounced your marriage to Matthew and it was known between all of the ghosts and Sam that you were not his wife in the afterlife.Â
âNot your wife,â Sasappis muttered, seated at your side with his arms crossed over his chest. He often did that, defended you. You found it sweet.Â
âLegally-â Matthew began but was swiftly cut off by Thor.Â
âNo law,â he said. âOnly ghost-rules.âÂ
Alberta hummed in agreement. âAs per ghost-rules, your sorry ass is divorced.âÂ
With a roll of his eyes, Matthew made himself comfortable in his seat, forever dressed in his tux that you hated but his mother had picked out. âGhost rules,â he scoffed. âYou all are horribly pathetic.âÂ
âAnd youâre a-âÂ
You swiftly cut off Hetty before she insulted him; not that you didnât want that, but Matthew was not the kind to ever leave an argument be, blowing it way out of sorts. You simply didnât have the energy for his nonsense anymore. It was easier to ignore him than humor him, you had found.Â
âUntil the ceremony, Iâll be in the garden. If you need me,â you looked around until your eyes fell on Matthew. âDonât.â With that, you headed toward the backyard, where Sam and Jay had started to restore a small garden.Â
The train of your dress tailed behind you and the strap on your heels forever pinched your ankle. You had gotten a say in your dress, which you were thankful for in the afterlife since you were stuck in it. At least it made you feel beautiful.Â
âWait,â Sass called from behind you, hurrying to your side.Â
You furrowed your brows. âYes?âÂ
He twisted his hands together in front of him, a coy smile on his lips. âDo you want some company?âÂ
From him, always. You hadnât known many men in your life who listened to you the way he did. His attention made you feel like a person, real and important. Unlike Matthew, Sass enjoyed listening to you, even about the most trivial of things. And you enjoyed every aspect of him.Â
âI would love some,â you said, smiling sweetly at the sparkle in his eyes. The outdoors suited him nicely, and he had a vast pool of knowledge that you were kept from as a little girl. He spoke eloquently of the swaying trees and budding flowers; you were happy to spend eternity with him, along with the other ghosts that inhabited Woodstone, aside from your ex-husband. You suppose you had gotten lucky there, that you werenât alone with him in the afterlife.Â
You looped your arm with his before you both began a quiet evening stroll, leaving behind the wedding preparation occurring inside the mansion.
âWhat he says, it doesnât get to you, right?â Sass asked, a few minutes into your stroll.
âNo, not as much as it once did.â When you were freshly dead, upset over the tragedy of your plan gone wrong, anything he said you to crash-landed, wounding your spirit form. But over time you gained friends with the ghosts and then in Sam. Now when Matthew spewed his hateful words, they rolled off of you.Â
âGood,â he said, his arm comfortably pressed against yours. âBecause heâs an idiot.âÂ
You laughed, warmly, leaning your head onto his shoulder. Something about Sass made you feel whole; whatever damage Matthew had done, Sass had filled the space with his presence that resembled a breath of fresh air after a winter trapped inside. It didnât matter what had been, only what could be in your newfound life in the afterlife.

[[and then I met you || ch. 3]]
Series: Daredevil || Pairing: Matt Murdock x Fem!Reader || Rating: Explicit
Summary:
A one-night stand years ago gave you a daughter and you are now able to put a name to her father â Matthew Murdock. Everything is about to change again as you navigate trying to integrate your life with that of the handsome and charming blind lawyerâs and Matt realizes he needs to protect his new family from not only Hell's Kitchen but from the world.
pt: 1 | 2 |
words: 9.1k
You change aspects of your outfit about seven times before you finally settle on something you deem acceptable.
You know the meeting isn't about you, but you can't help but want to dress nicely. But not too nicely that this will no longer be a casual lunch. You choose one of your nicer t-shirts with your nice jeans and try to be fancy by doing a French tuck, but kind of ruin the vibe by pairing it all with your walking sneakers. Minnie picked them out and they are obnoxiously neon orange, but they are incredibly comfortable and supportive. It's warm out, so you do something with your hair that is simple and won't get in the way.Â
You even dabble in some make-up. Nothing fancy but enough that you no longer look a little too tired.Â
Minnie, of course, is perceptive to your nerves and also wants to Dress Up. This, of course, means her Princess dress and you want her in a good mood, so you turn your daughter into a giant pink and yellow cupcake. She is absolutely thrilled to be able to wear it out so getting all packed up and ready to go goes smoothly. You debate telling her that you are going to meet someone but ultimately decide against it. She's already picked up on how nervous you are. If you tell her she will be meeting a new person, she might start getting upset and you aren't going to chance ruining her mood. So you bundle her into her stroller and start towards the diner at a quarter 'til eleven.
You want to get there early and get all settled before Matt arrives - maybe get a few doodles in on the sketchbook you've packed so Minnie is nice and distracted. It is a pretty day out and you take your time as you walk, not wanting to get all sweaty after dressing up.Â
It is a route you've taken many times before, so you let your mind wander as you stroll.Â
You had needed a full day to process that you had found Minnie's father and he wanted to be in both of your lives. It recontextualized so much. You had spent your entire evening reading 'how to co-parent' articles and making lists - you now had about three pages filled with your daughter's likes and dislikes, contact information for anyone Matt might need to reach out to, and multiple different schedules. Your plan is to make him a huge binder, filled with whatever he might need to know.Â
You don't know if you are going overboard or not but this is how you are dealing with everything.Â
You don't exactly have anyone you can reach out to to talk with. You aren't close enough with anyone who you would feel comfortable opening up to about Matt. You know you should probably find a therapist but there is no way you can afford one.
To be fair, you aren't even sure how you feel about everything. You put your emotions aside to deal with all the practical changes and to focus on your daughter's well-being. Despite all your anxieties, everything has been going as well as you think it should go. You've only had two conversations, but you are hoping the trend continues. You desperately want Minnie to smothered with people who adore her because you never had that and you pray Matt wants the same.Â
As you cross into Hell's Kitchen, your heart starts beating a little harder in your chest. You can't fight your nerves, so you try to channel them into something productive.Â
"Do you know where we're going, Mouse?" You ask as you wait at a corner.
"Chicky waffles!" is the excited response, making you chuckle.
"Exactly, we're gonna go have some chicky waffles," you say with a little smile. Chicken and waffles is a featured menu item at the diner and for some reason considered your daughter's Celebration Meal. "And if you aren't too sleepy afterwards, we can do something fun."
Minnie gives an excited wiggle in her stroller, "I wanna see the duckies!"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah!"
"Okay, we can go see the duckies after lunch." You are hoping the promise of something she wants to do will come with the desire to behave, even if she starts to get fussy. You know you can't stop a tantrum if meeting Matt does truly upset her, but you can try your best to deter them.Â
You are being overly precautious. You know you are, but you couldn't turn your mind off if you tried.Â
You've long accepted your fate and just try to navigate your anxiety the best you can.
As Minnie lists off what she's named all the ducks, you debate coming up with some talking points for her and Matt. You doubt they have similar interests, though you know that doesn't mean much - as you don't have similar interests as your daughter - but animals and food are easy discussions. You worry when it comes to art, things may get a little harder.
You have no idea how to explain blindness to Minnie. You are really hoping that Matt has that experience and can help her understand. After all, you don't actually know how much he can see. You know he needs Braille - his flirting at the holiday party all those years ago had been to ask you to read the drink menu to him - and uses a cane, but that doesn't mean he can't see shapes and such. You definitely do not want to speak for him about his abilities.
Maybe afterwards you can look up some videos to help Minnie understand better. There's a plethora of resources online, you just need to know what to look for - a jumping off point. Blind parents with Seeing children are not a new thing and you bet you can find a bunch of tactile art projects beyond folding paper that would suit Minnie's age.Â
The diner comes into view and you sigh in relief over the lack of a crowd. Maybe the Fates had smiled on you and everyone else would find somewhere else to have lunch. There is no one standing around outside, so you use the space to take Minnie out of her stroller. Instantly she tries to help you unpack, dragging her backpack out of the little storage area under the seat. You grab your purse and a collapsible booster seat, then start to fold up the stroller while she patiently waits.
She's still too small to pull open the heavy glass door of the diner, but that doesn't stop her from trying. She tugs on it twice before you are able to help her. She beams up at you and you return your little girl's smile as you enter the diner.
"Oh, well don't you look special," the waitress, Linda, says as she comes around the counter with some menus. You are convinced she must live above the diner because she is always there - but it also means Minnie is comfortable with her, so your daughter does a little twirl to show off her dress.
"We're gonna see the ducks!"Â
"I see," Linda coos, "Well in that case, you're going to need a nice lunch to fill you up. Lemme see now, it looks like your booth is all open, so why don't we get you all settled in?"
Minnie takes off across the diner to the booth while you lean the stroller in the corner where you've been told you can store it. Once that is done, you head over to the booth.Â
Linda places a menu where you will be sitting and as you slide into the seat next to Minnie, you ask for an additional menu in Braille. She looks a little surprised at the request, but doesn't question it and the menu is quickly placed across from you.
Minnie doesn't pay attention to the second menu at all, focused on pulling out her crayons and paper. She knows as long as she doesn't make a mess she's allowed to play on the table here and she doesn't waste any time getting right to it.Â
"What do you want to drink, sweet pea?" Linda asks.Â
"Lemonade, please, thank you!" Minnie answers like a little princess. Linda smiles at the response and asks the same to you, without the term of endearment.Â
"An iced tea, please," you reply. You wait until she turns to go back behind the counter to pop open the booster seat. You set it on the seat beside Minnie and she carefully climbs into it before going back to laying out her crayons.Â
"Do you want chicky waffles?" You ask Minnie. She shakes her head, ignoring you in favor of starting to scribble. You wait a few moments, giving her a chance to think and reply but that doesn't happen. You say her name, then repeat the question.
"No, I want grilled cheese," she says, looking up, "with fruit. Please. Thank you."
"With fruit?" You confirm, a little amused at the declaration. She nods and goes back to her work.Â
You refuse to check the time. You know as soon as you do you'll spiral into an anxiety attack, so instead, you drag the menu over to you and start reading it over. You don't really know what you want - your stomach is more nerves than hunger.Â
Linda drops off your drinks with a little smile, "I'll be back for your orders."
"Thank you," both you and Minnie say.Â
You fall into a silence, half looking over the menu and half watching Minnie drag her crayon over the page. She's got the yellow one in her little fist and you wonder what could be going on in that head of hers. You hope her thoughts are good ones - all about ducks and cupcakes and magical things and no worries exist.
The bell above the door to the diner chimes after about two minutes and you look up as Matt walks in. Your breath catches in your throat and your heart pounds hard.Â
There is no argument about whether or not Matt is physically attractive - he's gorgeous and could easily be a model if he wanted to be - but you can tell that Effort was put in that morning.Â
His scruff is trimmed down to a neat five o'clock shadow and his hair is a little fluffy like he's run his hand through it a few times. He's sporting a leather jacket, black tee shirt, slacks, and wing tips - he looks casual but cool. He's so incredibly handsome and for a moment you question if you're right about him being Minnie's father.
There is no way this man took you to bed. You think you're pass-ibly attractive, but he's on a whole other level of hot.Â
You are so busy ogling him it doesn't register right away you need to alert him to your whereabouts. Linda makes a bee line right for him, exchanging words you can't hear. She turns to look at you, one brow raising up in question. In response, you raise your hand in acknowledgement. She nods then leads Matt over to your booth. You finally notice he is holding a pink medium sized gift bag and you can't help but wonder what is inside.
He stops at the edge of the table, brushing his fingers over it to find the boundaries. You speak first, to let him know where you are.
"Hi."Â
It comes out far shyer than you mean and Linda gives a pointed 'are you serious' face.
It doesn't matter because he replies just as shyly, "Hi."Â
"Um, the seat to your right is empty, with a menu in the middle of the table," you direct. Minnie looks up at him and you watch her watch him fold his cane and slip into the seat. You can tell she is curious, but cautious.Â
"Can I get you anything to drink?" The elderly waitress asks and Matt asks for coffee. She then turns to go fetch that, leaving your new little family to finally meet each other.
You clear your throat and start the introductions, "Minnie, this is Matt. He is going to be our new friend. Can you say hi?"
She's quiet for a few seconds before mumbling out, "Hello."
Matt completely lights up at the greeting. His smile gets so big and boyishly happy you have to bite your lip so you don't break out into your own smile.Â
"Hi, Minnie. It'sâŚit's so nice to meet you."Â
Your daughter presses the fist clutching the crayon to her mouth as she looks Matt over. Her little eyes dart all over his features before she turns her head to look up at you. Her brow scrunches up in a way you know means she wants to ask something, so you gently prompt her.
"Do you want to ask something, Mouse?"
She gives a barely there nod.Â
"Okay. You can take your time. Is that okay, Matt?" You say, gently redirecting the conversation back to him.
"Take your time," Matt tells her, his voice so soft and sweet. Encouraging.
She squirms in her seat and you quickly offer up your hand so she can hold onto it. She grabs your hand with her non-dominant one and squeezes tightly, needing the anchor to know everything will be okay - only then does she talk, her mouth hidden behind fist and crayon.Â
"You're Mommy's friend?"Â
Matt nods, smile still on his face, "I am. Or I hope to be. I'd like to be your friend, too."
Minnie rocks side to side in her booster seat, still looking over Matt like she's trying to parse out his motive. Despite not being able to see her contemplating, Matt waits patiently until the next question comes.
"Is itâŚyour Birthday?" She asks after about ten seconds.
Matt shakes his head, his smile going from bright to a little softer, "No, it's not. This," he picks up the gift bag and places it in front of Minnie on the table, "is for you."
Her head automatically turns to look up at you with big questioning eyes, silently seeking permission. You gently squeeze her hand, "You can open it."
She pulls away from you and reaches out to pull the bag closer. It's too tall on the table for her to see into, so she very very gently, like she's scared it will break, tips it over onto its side. The packing tissue matches the bag and your little one gets distracted by that for a moment. She scrunches paper so it crinkles and folds before pulling it out and handing it off to you to hold. You assume that means she wants to keep it, as she knows wrapping paper gets thrown out. To your surprise, the tissue is thicker than what you are used to - it won't rip to shreds if you look at it too hard. That must be why she wants it - it's something to play with later.
A delighted shriek rips through the diner making you and Matt and everyone else in vicinity visibly wince.
"It's Scooby!" Minnie absolutely screams, revealing what is in the bag. It is indeed a Scooby Doo plushie - one of the good quality ones that looks extremely soft to the touch. He's seated and you can tell he has weighted paws to keep him upright and he looks more like a puppy Scooby than the one from the old show, but you know that doesn't matter.Â
Mouse loves him.Â
She practically shoves the plush in your face to show you. "Mommy, it's Scooby!"
Her excitement makes you laugh and rub at her back, "I see. Do you like him?" She nods before smashing the plush into her chest and hugging it tightly. You smile more, "What do you say to Matt?"
Matt has the biggest smile on his face and that, plus the gift, seems to soothe Minnie's anxiety. She looks right at him, matching his smile with her own beaming one, "Thank you, Mister Matt!"
"You're welcome, sweetheart."Â
You can hear the emotion in Matt's voice and it touches your heart. He looks just so happy. You get the feeling he would have been crushed if she hadn't liked the toy.
Minnie holds Scooby up and out to Matt and wiggles him back and forth, "Do you like Scooby? I love Scooby. He's my favorite - he solves mysteries! With Shaggy!"
"I haven't watched cartoons in a long time, but I remember Scooby Doo. I liked the girl with the glasses," Matt replies gently. You give a pleased hum at his response.
"Velma! That's Mommy's favorite!" Minnie exclaims, hugging her new toy again. She's so excited and wiggling with delight. You can't fight your smile as you watch her - and how could you? Matt's own smile is infectious.Â
"Oh, is she?" He asks and your little girl gives another eager nod.Â
"Uh-huh. 'Cause she's not scared of the monsters!"
That earns a little chuckle from both you and Matt, and he asks, "Are the monsters scary?"
"Yeah! But - but they are really just People," she screws up her face and emphasizes the word, pausing before starting again, "so they aren't Really scary."Â
"Ah, I see. Velma must be pretty brave to not be scared of the monsters."
"Mommy's braver," Mouse says proudly, puffing up her chest. She puts emphasis between each word, "Mommy's not scared of anything."Â
Your cheeks burn at her declaration.Â
"Is that so?" Matt asks, tilting his head a little towards you, his smile turning amused. You can tell he knows it's not true, but he won't break her illusion.
"I try to be," you say, rubbing Minnie's back again, trying to get her to calm down just a little bit. She's too happy over the new play thing to be nervous. Matt's done good - she's going to want to talk about cartoons - at least until food comes.Â
Linda has been eyeing your table and finally breaks away from the counter to come over to you, dropping off Matt's coffee then taking out her order pad.Â
"Can I get y'all started on some food?"
Minnie's attention is ripped away from Scooby and she looks up at the waitress. She squirms in her seat to sit up even taller and proclaims, "I want grilled cheese. With fruit. Please. Thank you."Â Â
She's ordered her own food from Linda before, though usually with not such confidence. You think this is part of her push to be a Big Girl. She's gotten to the age where she's started telling you she's not a baby anymore, even if you disagree, and you wonder if she's trying to impress Matt by showing that. You think it's absolutely adorable.Â
You can tell Linda does, too.
"One grilled cheese with fruit for the cupcake. How about Mom?"
You consider your options and decide quickly what you want, "Let's go with a grilled cheese with french fries."
Linda jots down the order and turns her attention to Matt, "and the sir?"
"I think I'll have to round it out and get a grilled cheese with fries."
Linda laughs to herself like she's very much enjoying the free reality show she is getting. "Three grilled cheese, two fry, and one fruit coming right up. Think about what y'all want for dessert."Â
You duck your head in embarrassment, knowing you are turning pink at the tease. You know she knows Matt is Minnie's father. She looks just like him and sitting there smiling together, there is no denying it. You don't need a DNA test.Â
One hundred percent, Matt Murdock fathered your precious little angel.
And Linda seems to think this is the Best Thing in the World. She is absolutely thrilled and you know she's going to gossip with the cooks.Â
Matt's got a blush to his cheeks as well, licking his lips shyly.
That makes you blush even more.
Minnie is totally unaware of the implications and declares she wants a sundae.
"Okay, then, I'll go get your order in so you can get that faster," Linda tells her before going to check on the next table.Â
"Cupcake?" Matt questions once she steps away, raising his brow over his glasses as he does. His smile is turning into a smirk and you think he's over being shy now. At least towards you.Â
"Minnie is sporting her Princess dress," you advise. You don't think his smile can get any bigger.
"A princess dress? Am I under dressed?"
You gently nudge your daughter, "Can you tell Matt about your dress?"
Minnie hugs Scooby to her chest before happily launching into a description of her dress, "It's pink! And yellow! And puffy! It has sparkles! And I can run in it."
"You can run in it?" He clarifies. The answer is a vigorous nod, so you jump in to help.
"The bottom is kind of like a tutu - lots of tulle. It only goes to her calves, so it won't drag on the ground. She looks like an upside down cupcake." You don't know if that helps at all, but he doesn't push for more information.Â
"It sounds like a really good Princess dress. Does that make you the Queen?" He teases. It gets a giggle from your daughter, which only makes you blush more. He directs his next inquiry to Minnie, once she's done laughing at you.
"Can you tell me what your Mommy is wearing?"
Your little one doesn't question why Matt needs things described to him and jumps right in, always so eager to please, "Mommy's wearing her fancy pants and a pretty top and she's got pretty hair. She looks pretty." Matt makes a pleased little noise over her description, encouraging her to continue on.
You resist the urge to hide your face in your hands. Your pants aren't fancy - she just rarely sees you outside leggings and sweatpants. You are going to have to take her to nicer places so she doesn't think jeans are formal wear. And pretty? Well, Mouse thinks everything is pretty.
"Do you think Mommy's pretty?" Minnie boldly asks instead of describing you more and you feel like you are going to die. You'd much rather prefer if she was being shy right now.
"I do," he says gently and of course it makes your blush even harder. This meeting should be about him meeting Minnie, but it is apparently about them ganging up on you to explode your heart out of your chest. "My eyes got hurt when I was a kid, so I can't see through them anymore. I see things through hearing and touching. I think you're Mommy has a very pretty voice. I like how she says different words. I can't see you're Mommy rubbing your back, but if I listen I can hear it. I can't see that your Mommy is wearing a pretty shirt, but now that you told me, I know. I use my hands to find out what shapes things are and where things are around me." He demonstrates by gently, and exaggeratedly, patting the table until he finds the menu. Mouse watches in fascination as he pushes it to be between them.Â
"I can't read like your Mommy can anymore with my eyes, so instead I use my fingers. Each set of bumps is a letter. It's called Braille and it's the English alphabet for people who use their fingers to read instead of their eyes."
You watch as your daughter listens to the explanation. She scrunches up her face as she processes the information, before looking down at her hands. She flexes her fingers a few times before looking back up at Matt.Â
"You got hurt?" She asks. Matt nods and gives an affirmative, pulling the menu back towards him. Part of you wonders if he's explained being Blind to a child before - his words and the concepts are simple enough for your little one to grasp. You're glad you left this to him.
"Something bad got in my eyes and made them not work anymore." You know this is something your daughter understands - she's gotten things in her eyes before that made it hard for her to see. You can see the dots connecting in Mouse's mind - she rubs a little fist into her left eye like it's irritated.
"Do you need a band-aid?" Minnie asks before dropping her arm with a little gasp, "or a kissy? Mommy gives me a kissy when I get hurt." Her concern is adorable and before Matt can answer her, she's jutting her new toy out towards him again, "Scooby can give you a kissy."
You can't see Matt's eyes behind his red glasses, but you can totally tell Minnie has already got him completely wrapped around her little fingers. You don't know if it's instinct to love her or he's just charmed by her sweetness.Â
"Thank you, sweetheart. I don't need one right now, it happened a long time ago. They've healed, they just don't work anymore. But if you could help tell me what things look like, I would very much appreciate that." His words are gentle and your daughter absolutely lights up over being asked to help. She loves to help.
"I can do that! I know what lots of things are!" She's practically bouncing in her seat, and deciding this is something you need to practice as well, tell Matt as such.Â
He tilts his head towards you, and it might be a trick of your mind, but for a moment his smile looks a bit softer before his attention is pulled back to Minnie. She's holding up Scooby again - you think she's not going to let go of the toy for the rest of the day - and once both you and Matt are focused on her, she starts describing him the best she can.Â
"He's brown and he's got a big head and he's a dog!" She turns the toy so it's back is facing Matt before telling him Scooby has black spots, "But not like Pongo. Only a little bit of spots. Pongo has.. Pongo has ten spots." She nods with authority over her assessment and you smile down at her, pride warming your heart.Â
"Thank you for telling me what he looks like," Matt says gently, making your little one just beam back at him. "You're very good at it."
You lean on your fist and watch her giggle and hide her face against Scooby. You don't want her to get too embarrassed and not want to talk, so you guide the conversation to something easy for her.Â
"Do you want to tell Matt about what we're going to do after lunch?" You ask, knowing it's a topic that excites her and she won't be shy, but it's also something he can relate to.Â
Across the table from you, Matt leans forward a little, clearly giving all his attention to Minnie, "Are you going to do something fun after lunch?"
The question gets her to look up from trying to hide away and she nods. She pushes her drawing, which has been ignored since Matt arrived, across the table towards him. You think she doesn't fully understand the concept that Matt cannot see yet, but she'll figure it out.Â
"She's sliding you her drawing," you say to try and help. You don't know if he needs more description than that - you can't remember how assistive you were during your night together. You're hoping it's another conversation you can have so you can adapt better to his life.Â
Matt feels around the table in front of him until he finds the notepad and he pulls it towards him. Minnie presses her face back into her plushie as she watches him run his fingers around the paper. You are all silent as he locates one of the circles Minnie has scribbled and begins to trace it. His lips begin to twitch at the corners and you wonder what he is thinking - what he is feeling. You hope this isn't a cruel thing - Minnie trying to show him her art.Â
You can tell he can feel the indentation of the crayon being pushed into the paper and you hope it is enough. You are definitely going to look into tactile art when you get home. You don't want to risk being this cruel and embarrassing again.Â
"We're gonna see the duckies," Minnie says after a beat and much to your surprise, she pushes herself up so she can reach across the table and places her finger on a circle Matt's not touching. "That's Quack."Â
Matt moves his finger to brush against hers, grounding where he is then begins to trace that circle, "This one is Quack?"
"Yeah! He's yellow. And this one," she pushes her finger to the third scribble, which is more square than circle, "is Moose. He's mean."Â
"He's mean?" Matt asks as he follows her finger with his own. The drawing is not very big, so he easily finds her finger again, bumping up against hers. All the yellow circles and shapes look the same to you but you know that isn't the case to your daughter and listening to her explain to Matt makes you want to pull out your camera and record the breathtaking smile he has right now.
You're sure there's plenty of time for that later. You're not going to break the moment getting out your phone.
"He bites," Minnie says wisely, like it's a warning. Matt takes it as such and nods in understanding as he follows her finger around the drawing.
"That is mean. You shouldn't bite people," Matt replies, taking in the shape of Moose. "What color is he?"
"He's yellow too," she answers, "but he's only got one feets. That's why he's mean." She carefully moves herself back so she can plop down in her seat. "Mommy saysâŚMommy says he can't runs away so he bites."
You turn your head a little so you can smile into your hand. Hearing her repeat something you have previously told her always makes your heart melt - she's learning and retaining and growing up. Soon, she won't be your little baby girl.Â
"That's right, sweetie," you praise. "He can't run away like the other ducks, so to tell people to stay away, he bites. How do you keep from being bitten?"
Minnie screws up her face in thought and you glance at Matt to gauge his reaction. He still has his hand on the drawings, though he's stopped tracing them since she sat down, and he looks so enraptured by your daughter - his daughter.Â
As if he senses you looking at him, he sends a soft smile your way. You return it, not caring that he can't see it. This happy little moment is perfect in your eyes.
"You can only pet the duckies at the zoo," Minnie says after a few moments of thinking. She looks up to you to make sure that is the correct answer and you nod, smiling down at her.
"Exactly, we can only pet the ducks at the zoo. Those ducks like to be pet. The ducks in the park don't want to be pet, so we don't touch them," you gently reinforce.Â
"That is a good way to keep everyone happy," Matt agrees, moving his hand away from the notepad so he can take a drink of his coffee.Â
Minnie quickly moves to mimic him and you watch as she carefully brings her glass of lemonade closer. Linda already provided a straw, so you don't need to worry about her trying to pick up the glass so you'll let her do this herself unless she asks for help. She has to sit up straight, but Mouse is able to wrap her lips around the straw and take a few sips.
Then of course, as soon as she's done she holds Scooby up to the straw and pushes his muzzle against it a little too hard. Your hand flies out to stabilize the glass before it can wobble too much. You don't chastise her, as she did nothing wrong, and simply hold the lemonade while she plays.
"Slurp slurp slurp," Minnie whispers to herself before 'walking' the toy back into her lap.Â
"Do you like watching the ducks?" Matt asks once she's done, bringing her focus back, and instead of nodding, your little one makes Scooby nod for her before she turns him over and starts messing with his weighted paws.
"They're funny. They have lots of fights. And put their butts up in the water." You try to not huff at her description, as she is not exactly wrong. Part of you wants to jump in and explain what she means, but you want her to bond with Matt. You don't want her to rely on you as a go-between for explaining things to one another. They need to learn each other's language.Â
"They put their butts up?" Matt asks bewildered and you don't know if it's genuine or played up for Minnie.Â
Either way, your little girl giggles, "When they go down in the water. They go butt up!" She looks up at Matt then turns her plush over so his tail is pointed towards the ceiling, "like this!"
You do decide to intervene at this point, tapping on Minnie's shoulder so she looks up to you, "Matt can't see with his eyes, remember? You need to tell him what it looks like or let him feel."
You can see the little wheels turning behind her eyes as she mentally puts the pieces together. She looks back to him then plonks Scooby face down, ass up on her notepad.Â
"Like this," she repeats before patting the sides of the plushie. She then leans back in her seat and smiles at Matt, proud of herself. You bite your lip, waiting to see what Matt does.Â
He doesn't push for or request more description, instead quickly finding the edge of the notepad, then feeling over Scooby. You're pretty sure he's putting on a show of patting over the toy by the way it's making Minnie giggle.Â
"Do you know why they put their butts up?" He asks and you wonder how much longer you will be talking of duck butts. It's cute, but you are also in public. Matt seems to not care at all so you push aside any embarrassment creeping at the edge of your psyche.Â
They both absolutely deserve this.
Your little one shakes her head with a 'not-uh' at Matt's question. You've told her why before, but you are sure she's forgotten - it is not useful information to her three year old brain.Â
"It's so they can get food underwater," he says as he flips Scooby over so he's sitting properly again. "They float on the water, but their food is underneath them." He bounces Scooby lightly, like he's floating in water. As she watches and listens, Mouse sticks her little hands into her mouth. "They have to dive down to get it, because they don't have hands to pick it up," he demonstrates by tipping the stuffed dog forward, so he's once again face down ass up. "So they end up sticking their butts out of the water. They look for food like this."
As he finishes his explanation, he pushes Scooby towards Minnie, pretending to make him snuffle and sniff for her, including making the sound himself. She hides her face behind her hands, giggling loudly, "There's no food here!"
"Oh no, there's not?" Matt asks in an overly dejected voice, tilting Scooby back up so he's sitting. He lets go of the plush and to keep up the fun atmosphere, you quickly pick it up instead.
You bounce the toy towards your daughter, teasing lightly, "is he going to have to gobble you up instead?"
"No!" She mock wails, lightly kicking her feet and still hiding her face, "I'm not food!"
"Are you sure?" Matt asks, leaning forward a little bit. "You look like food to me."
"Nom nom nom," you say in a deep voice, having Scooby's muzzle bump into her arm repeatedly. His pun doesn't dawn on you until Mouse starts squirming around and giggling.
"Noooo!"
"Well, looks like I'm here right in time," Linda declares as she very suddenly appears at the end of the table holding a tray with your orders. You flush in embarrassment, instinctively moving to sit up straight and behave and pulling Scooby into your lap. You feel like a misbehaving kid who got caught playing in class.
Matt has the most shit eating grin on his face, like he doesn't care who saw him playing with Minnie. He probably doesn't - this is his first time meeting her and it's going so well.Â
Your meals are placed in front of you, with Linda narrating to Matt where his plate is and where the food is on the plate when she sets it in front of him as she collects the menus.
"Thank you, Linda," Matt says from across the booth, managing to look and sound boyishly charming.
Again, almost instantly, Minnie copies him, giving her biggest and brightest, "Thank you, Miss Linda!"Â
"Thank you, Linda," you echo with your own little smile because you don't want to be rude and because you know she'll fucking love it.Â
"Well isn't that just the sweetest thing you've ever seen," she coos at you and you have to bite your lip so you don't laugh. You just know she is going to corner you at some point and demand answers. But that is for later, right now you are in your own bubble.
Beside you, Minnie helpfully pipes up, "Mister Matt can't see, you have to tell him what you see. Or let him feel."Â
You close your eyes tightly so you don't cringe or laugh. Your little Mouse is trying her best to do what she has been taught and you can't fault her at all. Linda gives a surprised yet amused laugh while Matt addresses your daughter. You can hear the smile in his voice.
"Thank you, Minnie, that's right. She's talking about us and I know that, so she doesn't need to explain. I appreciate your help in telling her, though." You look over to your daughter to gauge her reaction and she is still all smiles and Love.
"You're welcome!" She brightly replies then turns her attention to you and the toy in your lap, "Mommy, can I have Scooby?"
Linda gently taps the edge of the table with her knuckles as she steps away from the table, "Y'all enjoy your food and let me know if y'all need anything else." Her grin is enormous, and you'll have to give a nice tip for not completely embarrassing you.
You thank her again and once she's left, you pass Scooby back to Minnie, with a gentle reminder, "Put him to the side, so he won't get dirty." She nods in understanding, taking him and plopping him on the other side of her booster seat. Then she leans on the table and stretches her little arms until she can grab the napkin holder on the other end of the booth. Before you realize what she's doing, she yanks a handful of napkins free and falls back into her seat with an "oof".
"Are you alright?" Matt quickly asks, reaching his hand out over the table towards her like he can actually catch her from there if she falls.Â
His instinct to protect her makes your heart sing as you answer, "she's okay. Mouse, if you can't reach, you can ask for help." You still pat over her to make sure she's completely okay and it causes her to squirm in her seat.
"I can reach," is her slightly pouty reply. You don't want to get her cranky when she's been doing so well, so you let this pass and pull your hands away.
"Okay, sweetheart, just be careful, okay?"Â
Instead of answering, she ignores you and slowly she starts to unfold the napkins one by one. You have no idea what she is doing so you just watch. For a moment - then you remember Matt has no idea what is going on and you try your hand at narrating, "She grabbed napkins and now she is unfolding them."
"Why are you doing that, sweetheart?" He asks your daughter, brow knitting up and mouth turning into a frown.Â
She looks up at him as she pulls open another napkin and lays it flat on the table, saying like it's the most obvious thing, "Scooby doesn't have a lap."
"ScoobyâŚdoesn't have a lap?" Matt clarifies, clearly confused. You are as well until Minnie turns and starts draping the napkins over the plushie, covering him with them like a patchwork ghost.Â
Then you get it. "He doesn't have a lap to hold his napkin."Â
Realization dawns on Matt's face and he huffs in delight, "Of course." He makes a big show of taking the napkin around the silverware of his place set and putting it in his lap, even though your little one barely looks up at him. "We don't want to get dirty while eating."
"No crumbs," you agree, taking your napkin and putting it into your lap. You are constantly amazed by what your little girl retains - usually you have to put the napkin on her lap or remind her. Big Girl table manners is something you've only just started working on and pride swells in your chest at her actions. Even if she's just trying to impress Matt you are thrilled your lessons are working.
Once Scooby is hidden under napkins, Minnie puts one still folded napkin into her own lap. She pats it carefully so it's flat. As she does that, you check her plate to make sure everything is ready for her. Her kid's grilled cheese is already cut into four triangles, so you don't need to make anything smaller for her, and the fruit cup doesn't require any help. She's big enough to be able to stab the cut fruit with a fork and eat it on her own. You don't need to fuss with anything on her plate, so you start picking at your french fries. Matt has the same idea as you, going for his side instead of the main, but your daughter picks up the closest quarter of her sandwich and starts to nibble at it, like the Mouse she is.
A comfortable silence falls over your booth as you all start to eat.Â
You're still a little hesitant to trust everything is really going so well. You've conditioned yourself to believe that eventually everything will always fall apart - you just need to give it time. People leave and things go wrong, and you're left hurt and alone to pick up the pieces. You pray and hope and wish this curse the universe has put on you doesn't get passed down to your daughter. As long as you are breathing you won't leave her - and maybe if you believe hard enough Matt has come into Minnie's life and you are only there by extension, things won't come crashing down around her.Â
You'll fight tooth and nail for her well-being if it comes down to it, but it's something you don't want to have to do. She deserves a good, easy life.
Matt breaks you from your depressing thoughts, tilting his head and that handsome sweet smile towards Minnie, "How is your grilled cheese, Minnie?"
She looks up at him from behind her food, eyes going wide at being addressed, like she forgot Matt was even there. She sets down her half-eaten slice before answering, in a shy little mumble, "...it's yummy."Â
"Yeah?"
You duck your head with a fond smile. After the brief excitement of playing, of course she reverts back to being shy. You can sense she wants to start squirming and hiding at the direct attention, so you try to redirect the energy. It's amazing how bold you can be when trying to comfort your daughter. You can let yourself be uncomfortable until the cows come home, but you don't want her to experience that.
"Matt, can you tell Minnie a little about yourself?" You ask, maybe a little bit louder than you intended to.
He tilts his head towards you just slightly, his lips parting slightly and brow furrowing like he doesn't quite get why you asked that now. But he doesn't question you, instead leaning back into his seat to think over the question.Â
You want Minnie to know more about Matt to get more comfortable with him but you are also curious. Hearing what someone says about themselves is more telling than reading about them in online news articles.
"Let's see, I first met your Mommy a few years ago at a party. That's how we became friends. My other friends and I run a law firm where we help people when they get in trouble," He pokes at his fries while he talks and that seems to help Minnie relax more. She picks up her grilled cheese triangle and resumes eating while she listens. "I grew up here in Hell's Kitchen and want to help all my neighbors the best I can, because they are good people who don't have a lot of people to help them. I am able to help them, so my friends and I do the best we can to help them if they need it. I want to live in a happy place where people help each other."Â
You have no idea if he has experience talking to three year olds, but you think he'll have no problems with Minnie. Even if she doesn't understand exactly what he's saying, she watches him with interested eyes and you can tell she's taking in the information the best she can. Even if she's getting shy again, it's obvious Matt doesn't scare her.Â
"You help people?" your little one asks as Matt eats another fry. "Like a police man?"
He shakes his head, "No, after the police man comes. Like, if a police man thinks someone did something bad, but they didn't. They need someone to come tell the policeman they are innocent. That means they didn't do the bad thing."Â
Mouse pauses her chewing, sandwich still partly in her mouth. You haven't really discussed the topic of police with her - she's just three after all, but you know from the shows she watches the police are viewed in a good light. Personally, you've seen the bad side and know very well Matt helped clearing out the corrupt cops in Hell's Kitchen, but the concept the police might get something wrong seems to be a big one for her. Her little nose and brow scrunch up as things roll around in her head.Â
Matt seems to realize she's processing, as he continues to eat his fries and wait for the next question.Â
Finally, she puts her sandwich back down and looks up at Matt with slightly narrowed eyes.
"Are you Spidey-man?"
You try very hard to not laugh at the series of emotions that fly across Matt's face. First, he looks confused, then he makes this face like he smelled something bad, curling up his lips a little, before forcing it back into a smile with the help of a deep breath.Â
"No, sweetheart, I'm not Spider-Man, I'm a lawyer."Â
Minnie visibly deflates with a tiny 'oh', picking up a new sandwich triangle to start eating while looking like she's been told Christmas has been canceled. You suck on your bottom lip so you won't laugh. Across from you, Matt looks like he's angry at himself for not being Spider-Man and for disappointing Mouse over the fact - like how dare he not be the spunky superhero.Â
You feel the need to intervene before the mood shifts into something negative.
You pick up one of your french fries and wave it a little at Minnie to get her attention, "Matt can't be Spider-Man, Mouse. He's too tall." That gets her to look up at him again and he offers her this tiny hopeful smile. You feel like he's silently begging her to not be upset at him over something he can't control. "Remember? The balloon lady said he was as tall as her and Matt's taller than that."Â
You have no idea if she even registered how tall Matt is or if she can even mentally compare his height to the height of someone she's never seen in person, but you know pointing out how things are different in the past has worked.
She screws up her face at your words, carefully considering them, then finally nods and declares, "He's too tall to be Spidey-man." And just like that, everything is fine and she goes back to eating.Â
You grin to yourself and pop your fry into your mouth. Matt sits there, like he needs his own moment to process what happened. You are used to toddler wild mood swings and how to deal with them - you speak fluent Minnie logic. It will take him time to learn and you are sure there will be plenty of chances for it. He will be a master of it in no time if his fancy law degree is any indication.
Matt clears his throat after a long pause before picking up half of his sandwich, "Is he your favorite superhero?"
You wonder if he is really ready for this conversation. Minnie is part of the first generation to grow up with Super Heroes being a Real thing and not from war stories and comic books. You've tried to keep her away from all the news stories about all the horrible world events that keep happening, but capitalism sure loves to sell the idea and you can't fight capitalism. You're half convinced the Avengers are funded by their merchandise sales alone. Spider-Man isn't a part of all that, as far as you know, but New York loves the guy and you can get bootleg Spider merch on most street corners. Which you have, because Mouse thinks he's Cool.Â
"He saved a kitty," she says with lots of pride in her voice. "I saw on TV."Â
You remember the news segment from a few weeks prior: someone had filmed Spider-Man rescuing a cat that had gotten stuck in some construction equipment. It was heartwarming.
"He saved a kitty?" He asks, pretending to be in awe. Minnie gives a vigorous nod before shoving more of her grilled cheese into her mouth.
"She's nodding," you narrate, finally moving to eat your sandwich. "It was a daring rescue. I had to save the video on my phone so we can rewatch it. It was on top of a crane."
"Do you like Spidey-man?" Mouse asks as soon as she swallows her food. You know he can't see you, but you still look at Matt with raised eyebrows, wanting to know his answer as well. Â
"Well, based off what you said, he sounds like a good man. He wasn't around when I was growing up, so I'm partial to Captain America. I used to read his comics when I was little like you." It's a very diplomatic and lawyer-y answer and it makes you wonder if Matt even likes the topic. Hell's Kitchen did get the short end of the stick in the Battle of New York and the whole thing might be a touchy subject, especially considering his career. You know developers tried to take advantage of all the destruction and that must have caused a tonne of legal trouble.Â
Not that Minnie knows any of that, so you try to divert the conversation with the first thought that comes to mind, "what about ducks, Mr. Murdock, are you a fan of ducks?"Â
Your question throws him for a moment, but eventually he hums at the inquiry before nodding, "I do like ducks. Even ones who bite." He shoots you a little smile, something charming that makes your heart stutter. So instead of continuing to look at him, you turn to your daughter.
"Do you think we should invite Matt to visit the ducks?" You ask, wanting to make sure she is comfortable with the idea before properly asking Matt if he would like to come along. You have no idea if he has plans after this or not, but it is worth a shot.
Minnie looks from you to Matt and back again, pursing her lips in thought before lowering her voice into an unintentional stage whisper, "Mommy, he can't touch the duckies."
You try your best to not coo at her concern. You want to wrap her up in your arms and never let anything bad happen because how can your little angel be so thoughtful after only knowing him for half an hour?
"It's okay, sweetie," Matt softly says, and you turn your gaze to him. You swear you can feel the emotion coming off of him in waves - the desire to spend more time with his daughter, to learn more about her and bond. "You can help describe them to me, if you want. If you want me to come with you."Â
The last part hits home - you are very familiar with that way of speech. The want and ache to be included but knowing you'll most likely be denied the opportunity.Â
It feels like an infinity passes before she looks away from both of you and shyly admits, "I can help." She was so enthusiastic with her new toy and you do want to try to get that energy back. The park is one of the places she forgets to be a timid little mouse and you are hoping once she's not trapped in the booth, it will be easier for her to express herself.
"May I go with you to visit the ducks, Minnie?" He asks so proper and politely and it makes your stomach do funny things. You really do not understand how this wonderful man picked you of all people to sleep with.
Mouse squirms then pushes her wrist against her mouth, mumbling into it, "I wanna see the duckies. With Mister Matt. And Mommy."
You lean in and gently kiss the top of her head, rubbing at her back to silently tell her she did such a good job. "We'll all go see the duckies after we finish eating. All together."
Minnie peeks up at you, that shy sweet smile brightening to a look only reserved for Mommy, "We're gonna see the duckies. All together."
From the other side of the booth you hear Matt confirm in the softest voice, like you weren't meant to hear it.
 "All together."

Made in an Instant (3/5)
continuation of Dream's eldritch pregnancy
Apparently by sheer force of will, Dream still refuses to âlookâ pregnant in any kind of meaningful way. But looks are not everything, and the fact that Dream is not quite himselfâmore so the further along they getâis evident in how⌠chaotic the Dreaming has been.
Gravityâs all wonky. Hob will walk along a palace corridor towards Dreamâs quartersâa corridor he thought he knew plenty wellâonly to find the sky out the windows is suddenly down, and heâs walking on the ceiling. Usually, the second he notices he plummets to the floor. Or rather, to the ceiling. Or whatever.
Weatherâs weird, too. Not really in a bad way, not like when Dream is morose and it rains all the time. But thereâs been snow going sidewaysââthe baby likes winter,â Dream said at one point when Hob askedâand the waterfalls that tumble down the river running by the castle have been running up, and the temperature is fluctuating seemingly by the minute. Hobâs given up on trying to dress to the weatherâeven dream-logic canât keep up with the changes. He just suffers through it. Itâs probably bothering Dream more than it is him, anyway.
He copes with the chaos because he might as well get used to it nowâitâs not like a magical baby is going to be any less chaotic.
On this particular day, when Hob arrives in the Dreaming to see Dream, he nearly backs right back out again. Not that thatâs really how it works. But itâs high noon, the sun glaringly bright overhead, and the Dreaming is blaring with noise.
With music, specifically. The whole place is playing âBring Me to Lifeâ, of all things, very loudly, though it seems to be some kind of infant adaptation made of bells and chimes. Covering his ears, Hob tries to find a speaker system in the palace. Nothing. It seems to be ambient noise emanating from the sky and the earth and the very fucking soul of the place.
So instead he goes to track down Dream.
On his way, he passes Lucienne, whoâs valiantly trying to complete her work in the library, brow pinched, and Matthew, who alights briefly, unsteadily on his shoulder to say, âI know theyâre having mommy and me music time and itâs all sweet and cute but do you think you can get him to turn down the emo xylophone? I canât fly in this shit,â before winging away again.
Eventually Hob reaches Dreamâs quarters. He doesnât answer when Hob knocks, so Hob just goes in. He finds him sitting on the floor, back to the stone wall, eyes squeezed shut and hands clasped over his ears. Shit. Rough day, then.
Hob sits down across from him on the floor. âDream.â No response. He taps Dreamâs knee. âDream!â
Dream startles, looking up at him. Then seizes Hobâs hands and clasps them over his own ears, sighing in relief when that apparently mutes some of the sound. Hobâs not sure how that works, but then, everything works weirdly in the Dreaming.
Hob moves closer to him so he can sort of, awkwardly, fold Dream into his arms. âAre you okay, honey?â
Dream shakes his head. âLoud.â
âYeah, it really is.â
He shakes his head again. âInside.â
âWhat does that mean?â Hob asks. âAre the babyâs powers bothering you?â
Dream nods as he pushes his face into Hobâs shoulder, Hobâs hands still covering his ears. âShe is⌠growing into herself, and I am glad for it, butââ he breathes out, hard, tiredâ âbut, I have been. Busy. And. My focus slipped. And she is very excitable. It seems.â
Hob really should do better than to forget the gap between what Dream feels and what he vocalizes. Listening to him talk normally, one would think that managing the babyâs burgeoning powers required no effort at all.
âYouâve been dealing with so much, my darling, havenât you?â Hob holds him close and rocks him back and forth. âIt sounds very hard. Youâre doing so well.â
âHob Gadling, I do not need your platitudes,â Dream growls, but he wraps his arms around Hob nevertheless, fingers gripped in his jumper. Hob keeps his hands pressed over his ears.
ââCourse you donât,â he says. Then keeps up with the platitudes anyway, as they seem to be pulling Dreamâs focus from the overwhelming music. âYou donât need me to tell you how powerful you are. Or how good a job youâre doing taking care of our baby as she grows. Do you?â
Dream just sighs, but doesnât protest. Even dream kings need to be told theyâre doing a good job sometimes, Hob thinks.
The musicâs changed. Itâs metal now, though still in that bells and xylophone register. âBaby likes Metallica?â Hob asks, and Dream makes a hmph sound into his shirt. âThink we can turn it down a bit? Matthew was crashing into walls.â
âYou can turn it down,â says Dream.
Hob is about to ask, well, how? then thinks, fuck it, this is the Dreaming. He imagines a dial in front of him, and turns it.
The volume goes down.
The Dreamingâs so cool sometimes.
âThank you,â Dream says.
âWhat were you up to before all this?â Hob asks, finally loosening his grip on Dreamâs head now that the musicâs lower.
âI was building her a room in the palace. I was⌠struggling to get it right. Perhaps the details will have to come to me later.â
âYou seem pretty tired. Maybe you should just come back to it, hm?â
âPerhaps.â He finally lifts his head from Hobâs chest. âWould you like to see?â
âThe room? Definitely.â
They get up, and Dream opens a door in his chambers that definitely wasnât there before to take them through to another part of the palace.
Inside, itâs, well. Itâs chaotic.
Much like in Dreamâs throne room, the ceiling is composed of a literal night sky, deep enough to fall into. The walls bear murals of various Dreaming landscapes and the fantastical creatures that live in them, which Hob thinks Dream might have painted by hand. He also thinks they might be more like doorways than murals, at least when Dream allows them to be. Thereâs a stream running through the center of the room with actual fish in itâdefinitely a drowning hazard, but presumably Dream has some magic that would prevent thatâand in the corner is, despite Dreamâs claims that he could make one so much better, a direct replica of the crib Hob had put together in the Waking. Which is so sweet.
Itâs all very chaotic, but itâs⌠nice, too? Itâs eclectic and changeable, the way the babyâs power feels, when Hobâs felt it.
âItâs gorgeous, Dream, I think sheâll love it,â he says, and Dreamâs tiny smile is surprised, but pleased. âJust make sure she doesnât drown in the stream, yeah?â
âI will ensure it,â Dream promises. âShe will come to no harm in the Dreaming.â
âGood.â He pulls Dream close, kisses his cheek, holds him as they look at their childâs room. Their child. Theyâre really doing this? Trying again?
Well. Thereâs really no turning back now.
Dream sighs tiredly, leaning into his side.
âI wish I could help you more with this,â Hob says. âI know I canât, not with all of it, but still.â
âSuch is the way of things,â says Dream.
Hob wraps his arms around him from behind, cradles his belly in his hands. Itâs something he did, once upon a time, for Eleanor. Dream doesnât have much of a belly at allâHob doubts he ever will at this pointâbut he seems to appreciate the gesture. Itâs all about the meaning of a thing with Dream, rather than the materiality.
Indeed, Dream hums, laying his hands over Hobâs.
âI hope you arenât suffering too much,â Hob says, hooking his chin over Dreamâs shoulder.
âSuffering, no,â says Dream. âFeeling as though I have taken on a second job, so to speak, yes. But.â He looks down, smiling lightly. âIt makes me happy, to feel her. When she is not trying to play extremely loud music, that is.â
âSoon sheâll just be playing extremely loud music in my flat. How much insanity am I going to be coping with, by the way? Are we going to be taking home a fully-grown terror?â
âMmm. Rather more agency than a human baby, I expect.â He sounds like heâs enjoying the prospect of chaos at Hobâs expense. Of course.
âTerrific. Time to concept-proof the house. As a concept, youâll have to advise.â
Dream chuckles, holding onto Hobâs hands where theyâre still wrapped around his belly. Hob kisses the side of his neck.
âIs there anything I can do for you, darling? Anything that will make you feel better?â
âI will come back with you to the Waking, for a time, if you are not busy,â says Dream.
âNever busy when it comes to you,â Hob says.
Dream gives him a look over his shoulder, but doesnât protest. Hob holds onto his hands as Dream takes them to the Waking.
Itâs always really weird waking up that way. Thereâs no proper line between dreaming and waking, the dream-space of their daughterâs future bedroom just sort of cedes into Hobâs flat, and he finds himself in bed, blinking awake in the dark. Dream is lying curled in his arms, in much the same position as how they were just standing.
âFancy seeing you here,â Hob says, and Dream huffs.
âWill you indoctrinate our child with your sense of humor?â he asks.
âIâll sure try.âÂ
Dream just sighs again in response, long-suffering as always. Hob cuddles him close, and feels the way his whole body relaxes. Itâs lovely how, in all the turmoil of pregnancy, he seems to be gradually allowing himself a modicum of greater relaxation and indulgence, at least when theyâre together. Itâs still only a small percentage of what he truly should allow himself, in Hobâs opinion, but itâs progress.
âIâm glad you came back with me,â he says, petting Dreamâs hair. âTake a break for a little while.â
âFor a short time, perhaps,â Dream agrees.
âFor a longer time?â Hob says.
He really thinks Dream might benefit from taking some time off before the baby is born, too. Taking time off is anathema to Dream, and heâs not particularly fond of being told what to do, either, so Hob hasnât pushed it much. But thereâs no real reason not to. The Dreaming wonât fall apart if he takes some time for himself, just for a few months.
âI donât know,â Dream says, which is as good as a no. âPerhaps.â
And Hob gets whatâs going on in his mind. If Dream felt that resting was something he needed to do for his daughterâs sake, he would likely do it, but as it stands it feels far too self-indulgent for him. He canât stand to allow himself that.
âWhat can I do for you now, darling?â he asks. âWhat do you need?â
Quietly, Dream says, âWill you make love to me?â
âOh, love.â Hob kisses the back of his neck. âYou hardly have to ask.â
He can imagine Dreamâs tiny smile, even if he canât see it.
He traces his hand down Dreamâs chest, Dreamâs shirt disappearing into mist in the wake of his touch. Dream leans back into him, and Hob keeps touching him, lower now, brushing the hem of his pajama pants, which likewise dissolve back into dreams. He dips his fingers between Dreamâs legs, drawing another long sigh from him that merges into a low groan.
âSensitive?â Hob teases, and Dream huffs. Hob kisses under his jaw, holding him close. âItâs okay. Youâre so beautiful right now, you know that? So gorgeous.â He splays his free hand over Dreamâs belly, arm wrapped around him, as he keeps working him with the other. Dream shivers and squirms under his touch.
Hob delves his fingers into him. Dream is already wet and aching, so wanting. Hob takes himself out of his pajama pants, thrusts between Dreamâs thighs. Dream gasps as Hob nudges at his entrance, then moans as he eases in, so easy, like Dream was just waiting for it.
He gives a few slow thrusts, breathing out hard against the back of Dreamâs neck. âFeel so good, love.â
Dream grabs onto his hand, squeezing tight. âHob.â
Hob rolls his hips, fucking him long and slow, lips pressed to Dreamâs skin. He canât lie and say he isnât very into Dream like this. Thereâs nothing particularly physically different about him. But heâs so wanting. And when theyâre alone together, heâs so open about wanting, too. Hob is very much into a Dream who wants to be coddled and is willing, at least to some degree, to admit it.
He keeps rocking into him, kissing his neck. Dream pushes back against him, meeting each thrust. He feels so good, lax, and pliant, shivering when Hob rolls into him. Hob holds tight to Dreamâs hand, gasping at each peak of their rhythm.
âYouâre so gorgeous,â Hob murmurs against his skin. âIs that good for you, love?â
âYes, yes.â Dream cries out as Hob presses in deep, then shudders, clenching down around him. âHob.â
âSo good, sweetheart. Perfect. I love you.â
He keeps up his steady, measured pace, though Dreamâs body feels so good it makes him want to just chase his own release until he catches it. Make love to me, Dream had said. And Hob will. Heâll always want to hold him close, to make him feel good, to feel the way Dream relaxes when he knows heâs loved.
âPlease,â Dream begs, âplease, Hobââ and oh, Hob loves when he can unravel him enough to get that.
He kisses the affected pulse in Dreamâs throat, murmurs, âShhh, love, Iâll always give you everything you want, donât you know?â
âYes,â Dream breathes, âyes, yesââ
Then he comes, clenching tight around Hob with a gasp. His body spasming pushes Hob over the edge, too, and he holds Dream close as he spills in him, Dream letting out a low whine at the feeling.
When heâs recovered his breath, Hob carefully pulls out, and leans over Dreamâs shoulder to catch his lips in a thorough kiss. Dream twists and tangles his fingers in Hobâs hair, humming into the kiss. Â
âYou know,â Hob observes, as theyâre still tangled together, a smile tugging at his lips, âthis is kind of how we got into this situation? Still didnât talk about birth control, either.â
Dream grumbles, pulling back far enough to look at him. âI can hardly get pregnant twice at the same time.â
âDidnât think you could get pregnant once,â Hob says. âI wouldnât put anything past you, love.â
âI vow that I will not get pregnant again,â Dream concedes, with a long-suffering sigh.
âRetroactively?â
âHob.â
Hob laughs at his aggrieved tone, squeezing him tight. âEven if you did, itâs alright. Weâd make it work. I doubt dealing with two is something youâd want right now, though.â
âI certainly would not,â says Dream. âYour daughter is already very demanding.â
âSheâs my daughter when sheâs being demanding?â
âCorrect,â says Dream haughtily, and Hob kisses him again.
âThen sheâs your daughter when sheâs making things float in my living room,â he tells him.
âFloat,â Dream echoes. âPerhaps. Iâm uncertain exactly how her powers will manifest in the Waking. It is clearer to me in the Dreaming, although all dreamers have some ability to mold the dreamspace around them, part-Endless or not.â
âIâm definitely feeling so prepared for it.â
Dream quirks a smile. It seems to be at Hobâs expense. âI am sure you will manage. Youâve endured greater challenges.â
âHave I?â
Dream only continues to smirk at him, somewhat wickedly, so Hob tousles a hand in his hair and gets up. âStay there, my prince. Let me do all the work.â
âI shall,â Dream says, lying back and sprawling out in the sheets. Hob just shakes his head fondly as he turns to the bathroom.
--
After heâs cleaned them both upâDream certainly not lifting a finger for any of itâhe holds Dream against his chest, Dream with his head tucked under Hobâs chin and one leg slung over Hobâs thigh. Maybe this is one reason he refuses to have an actual pregnant belly. He wouldnât be able to lie like this comfortably if he did.
He combs his fingers through Dreamâs hair, and Dream hums in pleasure, making a low purring sound that rumbles through Hobâs chest. If only it could be like this always, Hob thinks. Or at least, until the babyâs born, and for some time after. Dream doesnât have to work himself to the bone. He can have this for longer.
âBe sure to stay for a while, yeah?â he says. âDonât go back right away. Take a nap and then Iâll make you breakfast andâ just, you know. Stay.â
Dream doesnât explicitly agree, but he tucks his nose into the hollow of Hobâs throat. At least itâs quieter here for him, Hob thinks. He needs the peace. Even if it doesnât last.
âLove you, you know,â Hob says, pressing a kiss into Dreamâs hair. âWhatever you decide.â And he holds him long into the morning.

More Than Once | Auston Matthews
summary: when Mitchâs engagement party turns a little bit hot Auston has the perfect way of keeping everything cool.
request: yes/no
warnings: mature scenes, p in v, oral (fem and m receiving), soft choking? Swearing.
word count: 2.58k
authors note: this took me four days to write but nevertheless it is here! One of my friends recently had a birthday and this is what she asked for. Iâm still very much alive but Iâm gonna go back to looking at jersey sizing cause this shit has me lost for days.
That little dress you were wearing was a sight for sore eyes.
It was a silver bodycon that had your boobs looking like they were the best thing there.
Which is why Austons eyes barely left you "Auston you remember my sister y/n?" Mitch's voice pulled the boy away from his gaze.
You were talking to Steph who smiled seeing the boys staring at you "she's all grown up." Auston pointed out as he swirled his drink in his glass.
What he didn't expect was that you two would make your way over to them grinning and all "what are you two talking about?" Steph enquired as she kissed her now fiancĂŠs lips.
The party was to celebrate their engagement "about you being all grown up." Mitch teased his sister as he ruffled his hand through your hair.
You groaned as you reached up to hit him "Mitch!" You complained as you swatted his hand away from you.
Steph enjoyed seeing how you were with your brother "why don't we go get some drinks?" She proposed as she had seen the way you looked at Auston and how he looked at you.
Thankfully Mitch didn't seem to notice that "yeah sure," he simply sent you a smile before he walked away leaving you alone with his teammate.
What he didn't know was that it was probably going to be his worst decision ever "you're looking good princess." Auston confessed as he tapped the chair next to him.
You could never say no to him, not when you were a senior in high school, not when you first met him, never.
So you listened and sent him a smile as you found yourself sat on the chair next to him "how so?" You furrowed your eyebrows as you wanted to hear him say it.
Auston let out a laugh as his arm wrapped around the back of your chair "you're all grown up now." You didn't miss the way his eyes trailed down your body letting his tongue dance over his lower lip when his eyes got to your boobs.
A smirk was present in your face "not Mitch's baby sister anymore?" You teased as that was what he used to call you before you went to college.
He nodded as the song that blared over the speakers changed into a faster paced song "I love this one!" You gasped as you chugged the rest of your drink before you got up.
As your hand reached out for his Auston couldn't help it when his eyes went wide "I don't dance princess," he shook his head as your lips formed into a pout "please," you elongated the final vowel.
When you realised that it wasn't going to work you let out a sigh "I'll just go dance with Knies." You weren't an idiot, you knew that the younger boy liked you.
The comment seemed to push the button that you wanted to as Auston got up "lead the way then princess." He grumbled as he let his hand wrap around your waist as he sent Matthew a glare.
You couldn't help it when you let out a giggle "'s too easy with you," you cooed as the boy spun you around on the dance floor.
His lips were pressed together like he was holding something back "cat got your tongue Matthews?" You tilted your up as you sent him a smirk.
Auston hated how you seemed to know just what he was thinking as your lower lip got caught between your teeth "gotta behave," his voice was almost warning you like he wanted you to stop doing all this to him.
Your smile was deadly "but where is the fun in that?" You batted your eyelashes as he threw his head back.
The hockey player let his hands rest on your hips not caring that Mitch was in earshot "making it so hard to not drag you into the bathroom right now." He grumbled as he dropped his head to your ear.
It was cruel as you wrapped your hands around his arms "how do you know that I don't want that too?" You mumbled as you kissed the lobe of his ear.
That moment made a switch change in his head "you two okay?" Mitch asked as he thought you were looking a little light.
Auston smiled, here was his chance "y/n isn't feeling well so I am gonna take her home." You furrowed your eyebrows as you tried to figure out what he was talking about.
As his hand squeezed your waist you let out a cough "sorry Mitchy," you apologised as you finally caught up.
Mitch smiled as he looked at the two of you "you're such a friend bro, thanks for looking out for her." He patted the boys shoulder as he turned to you "get some sleep?" He sighed unaware of how you were putting this act on.
You forced a smile onto your lips "I'll see you tomorrow," you gave your brother a hug before you watched him leave.
Auston placed a kiss on your forehead "your place or mine?" He asked as he looked down to see the sparkle in your eye "yours baby." You whined as you squeezed his hand.
He smiled as he ran his tongue over his teeth "lead the way baby." He mumbled as he locked his hand with yours smiling as you pushed through the crowd of people.
Auston's apartment was on the penthouse floor and with you guys being in that elevator with one of his neighbours was torture.
The way Auston smiled as he dug his fingers into your hip as he continued to mumble sweet things into your ear "don't be so cruel princess." He groaned as his hand shook trying to open the front door to his apartment as your lips never left his neck.
You smiled continuing what you were doing "c'mere," Auston squeezed your chin between his fingers as he pulled you towards him when he unlocked his door.
His hands went back to your waist as he pushed you against his door "finally have you all to myself," he murmured as his hands traveled down to cup your ass.
A groan left your lips giving him the chance to let his tongue fight with yours "you're so needy princess," Auston grinned as you frowned when he moved away "wanna fuck you properly in bed." He confessed as he ran his fingers over your lips.
Tension built in your chest as wetness pooled in your panties "Knies would have had me in his bed coming already." You still had some strange desire to push his buttons.
Austons hand wrapped around your wrist as his eyes darkened "gonna regret you ever said that." He warned as he tugged you towards his bedroom.
The zipper of your dress was quickly tugged down as you walked out of your dress "you're so pretty," Auston cooed as your body hit his bed.
He lifted your leg to his face "such a pretty girl," he added as he kissed your ankle before he undid your heel.
You sat back up as your fingers hooked into his shorts "want to make you feel so good," you whined as you were met with his bulge.
Auston groaned as he watched you kitten lick the tip of his dick "don't tease me," he locked his hand in your hair as he made it into a makeshift ponytail.
It didn't take you long to listen as you swirled his cock around your tongue "fuck baby keep doing that." You dropped to your knees as he let his head fall back.
The hockey player truly didn't think he was going to last long as he could feel your eyes on him "so good princess so good." He groaned as the sound of your mouth gurgling as his cock hit the back of your throat "shit baby," he continued totally unaware of how you were currently grinding your hips against his shoe.
There was something about his grunts that turned you on even more, and short of running your fingers over your clit repeatedly this was the next best thing. So you let the lacy fabric of your thong and the smooth leather of his shoe work together to get you close. Auston didn't notice until you let out this moan because you were just as close as he was "such a naughty girl." He tsked his tongue as his eyes shot open locking with your own.
A smirk formed on your lips as you hollowed your cheeks out "I'm not letting you get away that easily." Auston shook his head as he gripped your hair harder to help you stop "on your feet princess." As your lips broke away from his cock he couldn't help but feel his legs turn to jelly when a trail of your saliva stuck to his cock.
You used your thumb to wipe away some of the spit that had landed in your chin as you stuck it back into your mouth letting him see how you looked sucking his cock "your brother would die if he knew how naughty you were." Austons point made your cheeks turn red.
He kissed your lips as he pushed the two of you back onto his bed. You were unaware when his hand trailed between you two letting him finally feel how soaked you were "this all for me pretty girl?" Auston asked as he let his two fingers tease your hole "only for you baby." You confessed pushing your head deeper into the mattress giving him access to your neck.
Auston had you in a position that had you feeling at your most vulnerable yet you were somehow so comfortable âyou sure you want this princess?â He smiled as he placed needy kisses along your jawline.
There was that gentleman that your mother seemed to fall in love with when you were younger. It was the way Auston always came over with flowers whenever he was invited to the family house by Mitch âmore than anything.â You whimpered when his hands slid up your waist âplease Aus.â You begged as you reached up to cup his face.
The hockey player let out a chuckle âgotta go get a condom before I fuck you raw.â His breath fanned your neck when he bit your earlobe.
Your moan hit the walls as he got up watching when you pulled your bra off of your arms âsomeoneâs impatient,â Auston teased as you smiled âtired of waiting.â You confessed thighs slick with anticipation clenching together.
It didnât take him long to get back to you âyouâre so big,â you cooed as he rolled the latex material over his cock.
You lay down when he leaned forward to kiss you âmy pretty little girl,â he smirked as he let his cock tease your clit before he thrusted inside of you âgod.â You groaned as you adjusted to his size.
Nails dug into his arm when he looked down at your scrunched up face âknew you were always obsessed with me.â Austonâs witty comment would had you rolling your eyes but you were so desperate to not let him stop making you feel so good âjust there.â His hands cupped your thighs bringing your legs over his shoulders.
The new angle had your eyes falling back as you slapped your hand over your mouth âno baby,â the hockey player tsked his tongue âwant hear how good Iâm making you feel.â His head dropped to the nape of your neck causing you to gasp at how flexible he was making you.
Your body shuddered when your hands fisted the sheets âmaking me feel so fucking good.â You clenched around him as his lips moved back to yours.
The kisses were messy as his teeth clashed with yours ââm not gonna last much longer if you continue to do that.â Auston warned as you did it again making him groan âthink Knies could fuck you like this?â He asked as he propped himself with his hand softly wrapping around your neck placing this ever so light pressure on your throat âsoâŚso good,â your brain had practically turned to mush as you wrapped your hand around his arm.
Auston cooed as he licked his lips âgonna need an answer from you baby.â He softly squeezed your throat as he smirked.
Tears had formed in your eyes as you feared that he was going to leave you âplease let me come.â You begged letting your other hand slide between the two of you as you began to rub your clit.
The hockey player had to admit that he had thought about you in this position. He had seen the pictures of you in recent years whilst you were in college and you had well and truly grown into this gorgeous young woman.
Auston was just happy to see you like this in the flesh âlet it go baby.â That was all you needed to hear as your eyelids had these white specks of light dancing around them when your face looked as though you had eaten a lemon âfuckâŚshitâŚf-f-uck me wow!â You gasped as you hit your high.
What you didnât expect was that Auston was going to fuck you through it as your moans and clenching around him spurred on an orgasm of his own âthatâs it baby.â He threw his head back as his hands grip softened around your throat âso fucking good.â Auston murmured as he pulled out of you letting his lips kiss yours as your legs dropped to either side of him âso fucking good.
the next morning
Your eyes shot open as you realised that you were in a foreign bedroom "morning doll." Austons voice was guttural as he let his breath fan the shell of your ear.
It made you clench your thighs together as you were reminded of how it felt against him last night "I should get going." You were lying to yourself as you simply assumed that Auston regretted it now that he was awake.
The reasoning that ran through your head made sense to you, you were Mitch's younger sister. That was all you were ever meant to be to Auston. Being the girl in his bed was never meant to be on the cards for you.Â
But when your comment made him laugh you realised he might have thought of you differently "you sure about that princess?" He asked as he placed kisses against your neck letting them go down your arm.
You felt like the universe was looking down at you trying to tease you as it dangled pure pleasure in front of you "y-yeah I... no I'm not." You stuttered out when your head dug into the pillow at the feeling of his lips on your knee. Resting between your legs, his eyes never left you as he continued sending those strings of kisses down the inside of your thighs making sure that they were both equally loved.
Auston couldn't help but smile when your face scrunched up letting your hooded eyes flutter as you thrusted your hips towards him.
His laugh bounced off of the walls as he hooked his fingers in the waistband of your panties "let's make this morning a good one then." Auston knew you'd be back for more.
And it was only going to be a matter of time until you knew it too.

âyou wanna have sex with meâ w/ Auston and Insecure!Gf reader
ps ily
- đ§đťââď¸
Auston Matthews x insecure gf! Reader
Warnings?; SMUT, talk of insecurities, fingering, p in v, unprotected sex(wrap it up plz!), cursing, pet names, ass slapping, I canât think of any more.
Hope you enjoy and sorry for any errors!
The girl couldnât help the way she felt as she stared at herself in the mirror, it seemed like no matter what she did nothing looked good.
All she had to do was simply pick an outfit for the date that her boyfriend of a few months had planned for them but her head kept telling her that nothing looked good.
Right as she felt tears about to spill from her eyes she heard a knock sound against her apartment door and she cursed herself as she knew it was Auston arriving to pick her up.
âOne second!â She called and quickly slipped on one of his playoff hoodies that laid on a shelf in her closet.
As she pulled open door she was met with the sight of her handsome boyfriend dressed in a well tailored suit, pair of Nikes and his favorite watch sitting on his wrist.
But she watched as his eyes raked over her in concern as he noticed the defeated look on her face and the hoodie she was sporting instead of a dinner outfit.
âHey, you okay?â He questioned as he stepped into her apartment
But not wanting to admit her insecurities to a man who had dated Model after model before her, she lied through her teeth.
âYeah just having a hard time putting something togetherâ she smiled with a shrug
And even though he didnât believe her words he chose to go along with it and offer up help.
âWell youâve came to the right guy, cmonâ he replied and grabbed her hand to pull her back to the closet sheâd just came out of.
As he entered he seen a large amount of dresses, skirts, jeans, blouses and sweaters all over the floor. As a man with sisters he had a strong feeling that this pile didnât end up here because she couldnât find something but more likely because she felt nothing looked good.
However as a gentleman and after a few to many times getting screamed at when he was younger he knew better than to question it out of her and waited for her to tell him on her own time.
He instead bent down to pick up his favorite dress you owned that matched his suit very well, walked over to grab a pair of shoes to match and grabbed the âAâ necklace heâd gotten her a few weeks back before walking up to the girl that had spent the time watching him with admiration and handing everything to her.
âHere you go babyâ he smiled
âThank youâ she replied and leaned up to give him a quick peck to his cheek before pushing him into the bedroom so she could change privately.
But as she got everything on she couldnât help but judge herself in the mirror, picking and prodding at all the things she seen wrong before another knock pulled her out of her trance.
âBaby you ready? We gotta head out soonâ Auston Questioned through the door.
âYeah! Just need you to clip my necklaceâ she called and waited as she heard the door open and her boyfriend come in.
She watched in the mirror as his eyes ran over her body, stopping to stare at her breast for a moment before they stared at her long legs that he couldnât wait to have wrapped around him.
âYou look gorgeousâ he complimented as he finally took the necklace from her hand and placed it on her neck.
Her breath hitched as she felt his hands on her neck and how they rested there for a moment even after the necklace had been clasped.
âGod I canât wait to fuck youâ she heard him whisper so quietly that she was sure he didnât mean to say it.
However she was still shocked, they had been together six months and had never gotten past more than simple handjobs and fingering. Mostly due to her being scared of him seeing her naked body and her insecurities always getting into her head when she felt ready.
âYou wanna have sex with me?â She couldnât help but question
Auston was confused at her question until he realized he mustâve said his thoughts aloud and a bright blush took over his cheeks.
âI-uhâ he stuttered with an embarrassed smile before he let out a cough and began again
âYesâ he blurted before continuing, âBut your not ready and thatâs okay I donât want you to feel pressured in anywayâ
âBut..why?â She questioned and Auston became even more confused
What did she mean why? Because every time he sees her his cock gets hard, watching her make them dinner turned him on for fucks sake, she was unbelievably beautiful.
âIâŚuh I wanna have sex with you because anytime Iâm around you I get a boner like Iâm a teenage kid. Because you have the most beautiful body Iâve ever seen, these beautiful thighs that you donât show off enough, these long legs that I want wrapped around me as I fuck you, this plump ass, these beautiful girls you have up hereâ he told her as he got close and ran his hands over every spot he had brought up.
She couldnât help the way her thighs clenched at the feeling of his hands traveling along her body and the way his admittance turned her on.
âLet me show you how much I want you babyâ he mumbled into her neck as he placed kisses on her neck
âBut what about our reservations?â She questioned
âFuck dinner, Iâll take you out another nighâ
Part of her was scared but the other part was sick and tired of pushing Auston away and not getting what she deserved.
âOkay..â she spoke quietly
âOkay? Gonna let me take care of you?â
âMhmâ she whined as he started to bunch up the skirt of her dress.
He finally pulled his head out of her neck and looked down to get a view of her pretty ass covered in a Toronto Blue thong.
âYour so fucking beautifulâ he groaned as he placed a small slap to her ass.
âTake me to bed Auston, pleaseâ she pleaded as she met his eyes in the mirror.
He smirked at her before he turned her around to face him and dipped down to throw her over his shoulder.
âAuston!â She squealed but a giggle broke through as he threw her down onto her queen sized bed.
She leaned up on her elbows as he stepped back and began to remove his suit jacket along with both of their shoes.
âMay I take this off?â He asked as he ran a hand along the hem of her dress
âYesâ
He smiled at her before having her sit back up and allow him to get the dress off, as he did he came face to face with a bra that matched the thong she sported.
âYou damn teaseâ he shook his head with a smile and began to climb back over the girl.
He felt her tense up under him and listened as she released a deep breath in attempt to calm her nerves.
âYou know you can tell me to stop whenever you want right? And we donât have to do this if you donât want toâ he spoke
âI know and Iâm ready I promise, just nervousâ she sheepishly smiled at him
âOkayâ he smiled back and began to tease her body with kisses
He started by giving her a kiss on the head before he trailed them down her face, kissing her nose, cheeks, and then pecking her lips.
He spent some time on her neck and chest, kissing and sucking all over making sure to leave marks of possession all over.
Her hands shot to his hair when he reached her stomach, one of her biggest insecurities. But when Auston looked up and locked eyes with her she knew she didnât need to worry anymore especially when she started praising her.
âGod youâre truly the most beautiful thing Iâve ever laid my eyes onâ
âAustonn..â she whined at him causing him to nip her stomach in response
âLet me compliment youâ he laughed and moved further down the girls body
He left a kiss along the band of her blue thong and lead down her thighs, her breath hitched in her throat at the feeling of him being so close to her core.
âI canât wait to feel these tights wrapped around my head while Iâm buried between themâ he groaned
He smirked at the pitiful whine that escaped from the girls throat knowing she had the image pop into her own mind.
He stood back onto his feet and pulled her legs up while kissing down them, enjoying the view he had of her legs thrown over his shoulders.
âAuston as much as Iâm enjoying this I really need you to touch meâ she whined while holding his eyes
âYeah? Where do you want me to touch you baby?â
âWant you to touch my pussy Ausâ she blushed, typically not this bold
He smirked at her while he let her legs go and motioned for her to scoot up the bed and completely undressed himself.
She clenched her thighs at the sight of his tattoos, it didnât matter how many times sheâd seen them they always did something to her.
She spread her thighs wide for Auston as he began to crawl towards her on the bed. As he reached her he pulled her panties down to reveal how wet she was.
âAll that for me?â He teased
All he got in reply was a nod as the air had gotten taken from the girls lungs when he ran his fingers through her sopping folds.
âGot such a pretty pussy babyâ he smirked at the girl as he began to circle her clit
Her breath was stuck in her throat as she watched Auston finger her, while it wasnât the first time this time was much more intense and intimate and her head was spinning a mile a minute.
âAuston!â She cried as he finally slipped a finger into her warm hole
He groaned feeling her clench around a single finger and anticipation continued to build as he couldnât wait to get his cock inside her
He watched her intently as he slipped in another finger, he was having a hard time controlling himself at the sight of her head thrown back and chest heaving.
âIâm gonna Cum Ausâ she cried feeling the burning in her stomach getting stronger
âCum for me then, cum on my fingers babyâ he coached and let his own groan slip out at the loud cry she let out and how beautiful she looked going through an orgasm.
He continued moving his fingers inside her helping her through her high before she was grabbing his wrist to stop him due to the overstimulation.
He laughed lightly before he pulled his fingers out and pushed them into her mouth, making her suck them clean.
One she did as he wanted he quickly gripped her throat and pulled her in for a sloppy kiss, groaning at the taste of her juices on her tongue.
When they finally pulled away Auston quickly flipped her over into a face down position before he laid a hard slap to her ass.
âGonna fuck this pretty ass into next week babyâ he groaned as he began to run his pre-cum covered tip through her folds before slowly sliding inside her tight core.
He threw his head back at the feeling of her tightly hugging him, âgod your so tightâ he moaned
He gave her a moment to get used to his length before he started to pick up a pace. He started off slow to allow her to get used to the feeling of him but he couldnât hold himself back much longer.
âShit Austonâ she cried at the feeling of his thick cock filling her core to the brim
âNot my nameâ he warned as he laid a hard slap to her ass
âSorry Papiâ she apologized in a whine
âGood girlâ he praised the girl before he slightly shifted them and began a fast pace
She felt the air get pulled from her throat at the unexpected new pace but the way his cock was hitting her cervix didnât leave much time for much thought about it.
âPapiâ she cried into the pillow her face was pressed against
âYour body was made for me babyâ he moaned as he felt her clench him even tighter then she already was.
âIâm getting close againâ she cried as her second orgasm of the evening was already approaching quickly
âAlready? My cock fucking you that good princess ?â
âMhm, so good papiâ she mumbled, the only thoughts in her mind were the way Auston felt inside her and how close she was
Auston couldnât help but laugh at her cock drunken state, she was absolutely ruined beneath him and he was loving it.
âCan feel you clenching me tighter, cum for meâ he demanded as he quickly sped up his pace even faster.
All it took was one more harsh thrust and he was pushing her over the edge with a loud cry escaping the girl.
âAuston!â She cried feeling the knot in her stomach snap and her world go black for a short second.
âDid I just squirt?â She shyly asked
âFuck yeah you didâ Auston replied and she could hear the smirk in his voice
But it wasnât long that her boyfriend was following behind her and she felt him quickly pull out and shoot his warm cum all over her ass and back.
âHoly shitâ he groaned as he slowly got up to go grab a warm wash cloth to clean the two of you up along with a towel.
âCome on baby let me clean youâ he spoke from behind you causing you to roll over and look up at him.
There was no doubt that the makeup you had applied for dinner was now all over your face and you looked like a raccoon.
âHiâ he smiled when he finally seen your face again
âHiâ you giggled back
He quickly cleaned you up before grabbing the both of you a change of clothes and carried you out to cuddle on the couch.
A few minutes into the movie he had put on you finally spoke up about the evening and even the past few months.
âHey Aus?â
âYeah?â
âThank youâ
âFor what?â He questioned a little confused
âFor helping me these past few months, you may not have noticed but Iâve always been a little insecure and youâve helped me a bunch. Thatâs why I looked so upset when you got here tonight and why Iâve been scared to have sexâ she admitted.
âThank you for opening up to me sweetheart, Iâm glad Iâve been able to help you because youâre truly my favorite and most beautiful person on this planet and I love youâ he smiled
âI love you tooâ she beamed back and him pulled into a small kiss

Yours, mine & ours | Part 1: meeting matthew
Eddie Munson x Steve Harrington | Single Dads fic
Summary: Eddie has a 6-year-old brother in need of a new legal guardian
Warnings: set in 1993, Eddie was never a part of the upside-down shenanigans, foster care, child neglect, death of a parent, Al Munson is a monster, Wayne Munson is the loveliest man on earth
Word count: 4.7k
Masterlist
When he got the call from Child Protective Services, his first thought was: âDo they have the right Eddie Munson?â His second thought was: âof course, my dad would have another one of his offspring taken away.âÂ
âSo, will you take him? Or should we set him up with one of our emergency families until we can find a permanent foster placement for him?â The woman asked, as kindhearted as possible.Â
âUh⌠yeah? Do you have to like vet me or check out my place?â He asks, worried he wonât have enough time to make his trailer look presentable. Heâs only had it a few months now, just a few spaces down from his uncle Wayne, but that didnât stop the âEddie tornadoâ from wreaking havoc on the space in such a short time frame.Â
âA small one. Iâll bring Matthew with his things and Iâll take a look around, make sure itâs up to code,â she explains. âI know you were also taken in by a family member when you were a kid, so Iâm sure you know what itâs like. Heâs had a very rough day and I would like to have him settled with someone he can trust tonight.âÂ
âYeah, yeah I remember⌠How old is he?â He asks, unsure if sheâs said it already or not. His mind was in a bit of a fog, this was all a little surreal. He was 27, how the heck did his dad have another kid? What did he get out of jail? What did he do this time? His mind is absolutely racing.Â
â6,â she says and he can tell sheâs frowning about it. âI donât think heâs ever been to schoolâŚâ
âI missed a lot when I was with Al, too,â he shares. âIâll get him enrolled. 6 is what? Kindergarten?âÂ
âIt is, he should be able to catch up quite easily, heâs a very sweet and quiet boy. I think heâll greatly benefit from being around children his own age.âÂ
He knows thatâs true. âOkay, well, Iâll clean up a bit and get things ready here⌠when are you bringing him?âÂ
âWeâre just in Indianapolis, so Iâll be there in an hour-ish?â She says, more so asking if that works for him.Â
âSounds good.âÂ
âThank you, Eddie.âÂ
âAnytime.âÂ
He hangs up the phone on the receiver and looks around the room. Heâs fucked. Thereâs no way he can clean everything and make it look presentable in an hour.Â
But heâs damn sure going to try.Â
He throws all his clothes in the washing machine, he rushes through dishes, and he runs the recycling and a few garbage bags down to the trailer park's dumpster. He tidies his room, and sets up a few spare blankets on the couch so that the kid knows he has a spot to sleep tonight before they get him set up with more⌠and just as heâs changing his shirt to something less heavy metal, thereâs a knock on his door.Â
âComing!!â He shouts as he slips into the shirt and makes his way down the hallway. Heâs barely got his arms in the sleeves as heâs opening the door.Â
Heâs not sure what heâs expecting, but itâs still a shock to see a woman no older than himself holding a garbage bag in one hand and holding hands with a little boy in the other. Sheâs in a dress suit, hair all pulled back and a small smile on her face, âEddie Munson?âÂ
âHi,â he says, letting out a breath he didnât know he was holding. He looks down at his brother then, âYou must be Matthew?âÂ
He has the curliest hair, curlier than Eddieâs ever was at this age. He has chubby cheeks, big brown eyes and the longest lashes on earth that batt against those big cheeks each time he blinks. Heâs adorable. How the hell could someone have a child so sweet and put them in this position? Was he this cute when he was little? Was this how Wayne felt when he was on his doorstep at 12? Or was he long past that cute phase and more into the annoying tween people felt bad for, stage?Â
Matthew nods, reaching up to brush his curls out of his face, he looks so tired. His eyes are red, he doesnât smile, heâs in tattered old running shoes and pants too short for his legs and a sweater Eddieâs seen before⌠that used to be his. He left it when he was gathering things to leave for Waynes. It was too small for him then, but now itâs a bit too big for Matthew.Â
âCome in,â he steps aside and lets them in. âI uh, I cleaned as best as I could with short notice. Iâll do more tomorrow once I can borrow the vacuum from my uncle down the way, heâs at work right now. He works nights.âÂ
âThatâs okay,â she smiles, letting Matthew in first.
He takes a look around, arms crossed to protect himself. He doesnât make eye contact, he simply wanders over to the living room to take a look at the figurines Eddie has on the shelves. Wayne would call them toys, they could be if they werenât so expensive, but with their price tag, they are made to stay in their little acrylic cases and sit on his shelves collecting dust till he has the time to clean again.Â
âYou like Star Wars?â He asks, trying to make conversation but Matthew just shrugs. âIâll have to show you the movies sometime.âÂ
âOkay,â he says, quiet and meek.Â
He doesnât notice the social worker looking around. She opens the fridge, nods a bit and then closes it. She looks in the cupboards and drawers, and she notices that there are clothes in the washing machine tumbling around in soapy circles and she looks impressed. She keeps going down the hall, peaking in the bedroom, âIs it just you who lives here?âÂ
âUh, yeah, I just got the trailer a couple months ago⌠I was renting downtown for a bit but then I got the opportunity to own this place,â he explains. âIâm thinking Iâm going to get a pull-out couch for me and heâll have the room. Thatâs what my uncle did for me.âÂ
âSounds good,â she gives him a smile. âHe seems like heâs good here.â She references over to Matthew whoâs flipping through pages of a comic book, sitting criss-crossed on the floor. âHere,â she reaches into her pocket and hands Eddie a white envelope.Â
âWhat is this?âÂ
âYouâre not technically a foster parent, but because youâre under the poverty line and taking him in, I pulled some strings and youâll be receiving a $500 allowance for him each month,â she explains. âIt should help with groceries and clothes, and I can help you file for medical and dental benefits through some charities that focus on children going through tough situations.âÂ
âDamn, okay,â heâs so shocked. Where was all this when he was a kid? âWowâŚâÂ
âAnd then in the bag, there is a manilla envelope with his birth certificate and other important documents. We couldnât find any records of him getting his vaccines, so he should see a practitioner before going to school.âÂ
âOkay,â he nods along, feeling overwhelmed. âI uh, I donât even have a doctor⌠does he need a kid doctor or will any do?âÂ
âA pediatrician would be best,â she explains. âIn Indianapolis, we have a local pediatrician who does pro-bono work for children in the system. I included their number in the envelope, my cards in there, too, tell them I referred you.âÂ
âThank you. This is more than anyone did for me when they dropped me off with Wayne,â he says, trying not to tear up a bit. âIâm going to take good care of him.âÂ
âI know you will,â she gives him a real smile, she touches his arm and then makes her way to the door. âYou call if you need anything, but I think weâre all good here. Bye, Matthew!âÂ
He looks up from his book and gives her a wave, âBye.âÂ
And then sheâs gone.Â
Itâs just them now.
He has a kid.
A kid that will live with him and depend on him for⌠18-6 is 12 but heâs 27 and still dependent on Wayne to an extent, so thatâs 21 years. Heâs going to have this kid forever.Â
Eddie just watches him read for a moment, carefully keeping his distance. âAre you hungry?âÂ
He nods, âkinda.âÂ
âDo you have any favourite foods?âÂ
He shrugs, âPringles.âÂ
Eddie sighs, of course. He remembers being fed Pringles and candied nuts and beef jerky from the gas station for years. He never had a real meal between his mom's death and moving in with Wayne.
âHave you ever had Mac and cheese?âÂ
Matthew shakes his head, looking confused.Â
âWell, then I guess Iâm going to have to introduce you to my favourite meal.âÂ
He fills a pot up with water and sets it on a burner, throws in a bit of salt and turns it on high. He pulls a box down from the cupboard and walks it over to Matthew, âSee, this is Mac and cheese, itâs these little elbow-shaped noodles and a cheese powder that you mix with milk and butter and it becomes so delicious, youâre going to love it. You can try it by itself, or you can have ketchup on it like I do.âÂ
âI like ketchup,â he gives Eddie a little smile. âThe lady at the drink place gives me ketchup with my fries.âÂ
He knows he means the bar. His dad brought him there for dinner a lot too because most nights a plate of fries was free when you ordered 3 or more beers. Sometimes, heâd get a burger or even some chicken tenders if the bartender thought he was cute⌠that stopped after he turned 8. By then he was a lanky, dirty kid no one wanted to deal with.
âSo, Matt, how are you feeling?âÂ
âHew,â he says, looking displeased.Â
âWhat?âÂ
âMy name is Matthew.â
âOh, yeah, I know that. My name is Edward but people call me Eddie. Itâs called a nickname,â he explains. âI know our father wasnât big on nicknames, which is weird considering his preferred name is a nickname⌠but you donât have to only go by Matthew. People can call you Matt, or Matty.âÂ
âOh,â he settles with that. âSo my dad is your dad?âÂ
He nods, âyeah⌠I mean heâs our father. Thereâs a big difference between a father and a dad.â Matt looks confused so Eddie starts to ramble. âYou see, any man can father a kid, but not every man can be a dad. A dad is someone who takes care of you. Someone who reads you bedtime stories and tucks you in at night and kisses your forehead to see if you have a fever⌠a dad is someone who loves you and is always there for you. When I left our father, I moved in with his brother, Wayne. He did those things for me. He made me feel safe and cared for. Wayne is my dad.âÂ
âOh,â he softens, looking behind Eddie, sad. âMy mom did those things.âÂ
âMy mom did too,â he understands. âWhere is your mom?âÂ
âSheâs an angel,â Matthew sighs, missing her.Â
âSo is my mom,â Eddie presses his lips together, awkwardly, trying not to smile but wanting him to feel comfortable. âBut thatâs okay, weâve got each other now. Iâm going to make sure we get you into school, and maybe tomorrow we can go shopping?âÂ
He nods excitedly, sitting up straight, âFor what?âÂ
âWell, letâs see what you need,â Eddie says, looking for the bag of his things. He puts the box of Mac and cheese on the counter, the pot still isnât boiling, it takes forever in here. He grabs the garbage bag and unties it, turning it over and dropping everything onto the carpeted floor.Â
It smells so much like cigarettes that it honestly takes his breath away. âoh wow,â he tries not to gag. He smokes, sure, but not as much as Al, and definitely not in the fucking house.Â
The pile of things is small. He starts to sort everything, he folds 2 pairs of jeans, 6 shirts, 3 pyjama bottoms and only 1 matching long sleeve top. He has 4 pairs of underwear that look like theyâre for a toddler and no socks. There is 1 stuffed elephant and a picture of his mom in a frame⌠she looks a lot like his own mom.Â
Al Munson has a type.Â
âOkay,â he places his hands on his knees and bites his lip. âWell, looks like we need a bit of everything⌠new shoes, a good coat, some socks, a toothbrush, bathroom things? When was the last time you had a shower?âÂ
He shrugs, âI donât remember?âÂ
âOkay, do you know how to shower alone?âÂ
He nods, standing up, âI do everything by myself.âÂ
âI figured⌠um, so while I make dinner do you want to go have a shower? Iâm going to put your clothes in the wash later so you can wear one of my old shirts after?â Eddie offers, grabbing one of the other pairs of underwear out of the pile and standing up. âCome on, Iâll show you where everything is.âÂ
He shows him how the shower turns on and off, sets out some towels for him and tells him just how much shampoo he should use. He gets him a new shirt, places it on the counter with his underwear and heads to leave.Â
âThank you, Eddie,â Matthew says, giving him a little smile before he shuts the door, leaving him to do his own thing.Â
In the kitchen he can hear the pot boiling, so he pours the macaroni into the bubbling water. He sets the cheese packet to the side and heads right to the washing machine. He switches his clothes over to the dryer and loads Matt's stuff into the washer. Heâll put it on when the shower turns off so he has good water pressure to get the soap out of his hair.
Itâs remarkable how easy it is.Â
This time yesterday he was eating cold pizza and drinking a beer, thinking heâd never have the kind of life his co-workers did. Today, he has a kid. Today heâs doing laundry and making dinner and heâs going to have to tuck a kid into bed. Tomorrow heâs going to have to take him shopping. He has no idea how heâll keep doing this every day? If heâll be good at it? If heâll have the money, the strength, the energyâŚÂ
All he can do is try. Thatâs what Wayne did, and Wayne did a fantastic job. But Wayne also had help, he had friends with kids whom Eddie got most of his things from, ladies who watched him after school and neighbours who made sure he was up in time for the bus when Wayne worked late.Â
He still has 6 minutes till the macaroni is done, so he heads to the phone, dials the number to his coworker and he waits.Â
âHello?â Darylâs deep voice picks up.Â
âHey, itâs Eddie.âÂ
âWhatâs the van doing this time?â He asks, sounding annoyed.Â
âOh, nothing. No. Thatâs not why I called. I uh⌠my kid brother is going to be living with me from now on. Heâs 6â
âOh shit,â Daryl canât believe it.Â
âYeah, you and Laurene wouldnât happen to have your boyâs old clothes still, would you?â He asks, feeling bad but he has to ask.Â
âWeâve got buckets of their shit down in the crawlspace, Iâll ask Laur to go through it later. I donât think weâve got shoes, though. Our boys went through shoes like madâ I swear if they werenât outgrowing them they were blowing the souls out dragging them on the playground,â he goes off. Eddie can just imagine heâs shaking his head as he explains it all.Â
âIâve got an allowance for him from the state, so I can get him new shoes,â Eddie assures. âHe has like 4 shirts and no socks. I need to get him a coat and a backpack, and do you guys have a good doctor? He needs to get a doctor.âÂ
Daryl laughs, âI never thought youâd be coming to me for parenting advice.âÂ
âMe either, but heâs my brother. I wasnât going to let him go into the system. I was with 1 family before Wayne, it wasnât terrible but Iâve heard the horror stories. I canât let him go through that shit.âÂ
âYouâre a good man,â Daryl compliments him. âIâll see what we can find tomorrow, Iâll bring it by the trailer. You think heâs a regular-sized 6-year-old?â
He chuckles a bit, âI think? Iâm not sure really. Heâs so small. I donât think I was ever that small.âÂ
âWe were all small once,â he smiles through the phone. âHow about you come over tomorrow for lunch, he can meet our boys and weâll figure out sizing that way?âÂ
âSounds perfect,â Eddie agrees. âThanks again, Daryl. I really appreciate it.âÂ
âAny time kid, you have a good night.âÂ
âYou too.âÂ
â
Dinner goes well, they talk about his favourite colours and if he likes music. He likes blue and his dad listened to the radio a lot. He hummed some songs he liked, nothing Eddie could really recognize cause it was probably new-age country. They put their plates in the sink, Eddie shows him where the ketchup goes in the fridge and they talk about getting some groceries tomorrow. Fun food. Things for snacks and easy dinners, and Eddieâs gonna have to start packing him lunches when he goes to school.Â
Heâs going to need a backpack and a lunch bag, a pencil case and pencils and crayons and Eddieâs going to need to help with homework. He doesnât even know if the kid can read or write yetâŚÂ
Matt grabs the comic book again and sits back down on the couch, flipping back to the page he was on before, and looking at all the pictures.Â
âCan you read?â Eddie asks, coming to sit beside him.Â
He shrugs, âkinda.âÂ
âCool,â heâs honestly impressed. âHave you ever had a comic book before?âÂ
âNo⌠is that what this is?âÂ
âYeah, I have a whole bunch. This is Wolverine 27, thereâs 26 that come before it. I have most of them, you can read them all if you want?â He offers. âI also have some X-Men comics and a bunch of fantasy booksâ but they might be too advanced for you, so maybe I could read them to you?âÂ
He nods, a sweet gleam in his eyes, âCan you read me to sleep later?âÂ
âOf course, buddy,â he doesnât even have to think twice. âMaybe I could read you my favourite book?âÂ
âWhat is it?âÂ
âItâs called Lord of The Rings,â he says with a smile.Â
Maybe raising a kid could be fun.Â
After explaining the plot to him and grabbing the old, well-read, book off the shelf, he looks at Matthew and the couple sheets he has laid out for him, âWould you want to sleep in my bed or out here on the couch tonight?âÂ
âI usually sleep in Dad's room,â he explains. âI have a bed in his closet.âÂ
The fucking closet again. Sure, it gives them both privacy, but a 3x5 room is nothing. It's stuffy and gross and you still hear everything Al gets up to in the middle of the night with his stupid friends. His heart breaks for Matthew. He wished he knew he had a brother sooner, he wouldâve gotten Matthew and his mom away from Al as quick as humanly possible.Â
Now all he can do is make it up to him.Â
âWell, I was thinking you could have my room and I could get a couch that turns into a bed for me to sleep out here,â he explains his thinking. âI'm going to put all my clothes in the closet, I might get a new dresser or something for out here so you can keep all your things in your room.â
âReally? You mean it?â He lights right up. âI always wanted my own room.âÂ
Eddie smiles right back at him, âWell, now youâve got one. It might take a little while for me to move my things out here and make it feel more like your space, but youâll like it.âÂ
He nods, really happy with the thought of having his own space for the first time in his short little life. So happy, he gives Eddie a hug.Â
âOh,â heâs a bit shocked at first but then he softens, holding him back with a soft smile on his face. Eddie could really get used to this. âIâm glad youâre here, buddy.âÂ
âMe too,â he whispers against him, snuggling in, clearly tired after a long day.Â
âDo you want to go to bed?âÂ
He nods, âCan I sleep with you?âÂ
âUh⌠yeah, I just have to clean up a bit out here after I read to you but I can come back to your room?â Eddie compromises. He really wants to put his stuff in the washing machine before they go out tomorrow.Â
He holds his hand and walks him down the hall to his bedroom, flicks on the light and watches Mattâs eyes light right up, âwoah?âÂ
âYou like it?â He smirks, itâs pretty basic. White paint covered in posters and homemade flags with his band's name on them. Homemade artwork from campaigns, photos from gigs and tickets from concerts and festivals heâs been to.Â
âItâs so colourful,â he says as he lets go of Eddieâs hand and wanders over to his Iron Maiden poster. âHeâs so⌠wow?âÂ
âHis name is also Eddie⌠heâs the mascot for Iron Maiden, Iâll show you their music tomorrow in the van,â he promises. âYou sure itâs not too scary to sleep in here?âÂ
He shakes his head, âNo, itâs cool!âÂ
He canât help but smile, it must run in the family to love this shit. He suddenly canât wait to show him all the music he has, maybe teach him how to play guitar or hell, he might be into drums or bass and the boys can help him out. Having a little brother is a gift he never expected. This kid is so much like him, itâs going to be so fun.Â
He never wanted a kid of his own⌠really, he just didnât want to knock up some woman he didnât love in the name of pretending to be straight. He didnât want to change diapers and be up all night trying to soothe a crying crotch goblin. Heâd do it if he had to, but he never put himself in the position to need to. Now he has Matt, heâs at a fun age, and heâs still mouldable. He can still be made into a good person, heâs not affected too much by their father which is a blessing. He was only with him half as long as Eddie was, and he turned out semi-okay?Â
He turns the covers down, fluffs a pillow and flicks on the lamp light instead of the big light. âCome sit,â he offers, going to get his book from the shelf.Â
Matt crawls into the bed, pulls the covers up over himself and sits there with his hands in his lap, patiently waiting for his story.Â
âHas anyone read to you before?âÂ
He nods, âMy mom did. Just little books, though,â he points at the massive book Eddieâs holding. âNot like that.âÂ
âI know, but the best part about these big books is that we can read this story every night for a while. It took Wayne a whole year to read it to me at bedtime,â he explains, taking a seat in the bed beside him. âSo, it starts off kind of different⌠the narrator gives a rundown of the world first so that when you start reading, youâre not completely lost about what a hobbit is or where they live.âÂ
âOkay,â he nods along.Â
âAnd the way the characters talk might be a bit strange, and the words are a bit long and some donât exist in our world. If you need help understanding, donât be afraid to ask me what something means,â he explains. âItâs hard to understand sometimes, but Iâve read it so many times I know almost everything about it.âÂ
He nods, leaning into Eddieâs arm and looking at the pages. âAre there pictures?âÂ
He shakes his head, âNo, but I have drawn some of the scenes in my sketchbook, I can show you them later?âÂ
âOkay,â he settles against him and thatâs how Eddie knows itâs time to start.Â
âThis book is largely concerned with Hobbits, and from its pages a reader may discover much of their character and a little of their historyâŚâ
He reads in his most normal voice, heâll introduce voices for the characters later. heâs actually really excited about that. Wayne used to try and do voices for him, but he never could keep them consistent. Eddie, on the other hand, would do voices in his head when he read the book to himself.Â
âThey do not and did not understand or like machines more complicated than a forge-bellows, a water-mill, or a hand-loom, though they were skilful with tools. Even in ancient days they were, as a rule, shy of âthe Big Folkâ, as they call us,â
âWait, so Hobbits are tiny?â Matthew asks.Â
He nods, âYeah, theyâre probably about your size when theyâre my age, but they have big hairy feet.âÂ
Matthew laughs, âI think Iâm going to like this book.âÂ
Eddie smiles, âI think so, tooâÂ
â
Wayne doesnât work the same night shifts that he used to. Heâs too old for that shit. Now, he comes home around 11pm, gets to sleep all night and goes back in at 3pm. He likes it this way. Heâs always been more of a night owl, he enjoys sleeping when the sun is up more than anything, it runs in the family. It took Eddie most of his life to get onto a ânormalâ schedule for his 9-5.Â
Wayne knocks on the trailer door lightly just as Eddieâs switching the laundry over. He rushes to the door and holds his finger up to his lips as he opens it, âHey, let me come out here.âÂ
Wayneâs a little confused but he backs up and lets Eddie outside. âWhatâs goinâ on? You got someone over?âÂ
âAl had another kid after he got out, or during? Iâm not sure about the logistics, but he got arrested again and now Matthewâs going to be living with me,â he explains.Â
âThat old fucker got another woman knocked up?â Wayne canât believe it. âThe courts should castrate ya after CPS takes two kids out of yâr care.âÂ
Eddie just chuckles, âYeah, well, at least this one got away at 6.âÂ
â6?â Wayne repeats, eyes wide, âare you sure yâr up for that?âÂ
He nods, âheâs pretty calm and quiet. The social worker got us set up with an allowance so Iâll get $500 a month to take care of him and Daryl and his wife are going to hook us up with some hand-me-downs. Tomorrow Iâm getting him some new shoes and underwear and a coat. And socks. He didnât come with any socks?âÂ
âYou didnât either,â Wayne reminds him.Â
He sighs, remembering all too well just how hard it was to be with Al for so long. âYeah, well, weâre getting him everything he needs now. I need to get him set up at school, he needs a doctor, too⌠but weâll be okay.âÂ
âYou said his name is Matthew?âÂ
He nods, âhad to teach him what nicknames are too. He likes Matt so far.âÂ
âGood, good,â Wayne places his hands on his hips and shakes his head. âWow, never thought Iâd be here again.âÂ
âI told him youâre my dad,â Eddie explains. âAlâs just the man who made us, but dads take care of us.âÂ
Wayne lets out a huff and presses his lips together, his eyes well a bit, âboyâŚâÂ
âI know, I know,â Eddie laughs it off. âYouâre not good with emotions, but itâs true. And who knows, he might start calling you grandpa with this logic.âÂ
âYouâre gonna be a good dad to that kid,â Wayne compliments, meaning it with every fibre of his being.Â
Eddie just reaches out and hugs him, âYeah, well, I learned from the best.â

An Infinite Kind of Love - A 300 follower celebration fic - Matthew Tkachuk x ofc
Photo from Pinterest
Title: An Infinite Kind of Love
Author: Tory / @tkwritesÂ
Relationship: Pre-established: Matthew Tkachuk x Sophie (ofc)
Warnings: Other than mentions of a not great biological father, itâs all fluff.Â
Summary: Matthew and Sophie get married!Â
Word count: 3,800
Comments: I hit 300 followers way back on July 12 and set up this poll to determine the fic I would write in celebration. Weâd just passed the 4th of July, and I had a very specific idea for Matthew and Sophies wedding because of it.Â
This fic has actually been finished for about 3 weeks, but I was worried people would be upset if I posted it before the latest Quinn and Sarah Snapshot went up. So, here it is.Â
I hope you enjoy seeing Matthew and Sophie get married! If you did, please consider commenting, reblogging, or sending in an ask. I love hearing your thoughts about my writing!
Also we're just going to pretend the suit in this photo is navy because I couldn't find a photo of Matthew in a navy suit other than last years NHL Awards suit, which is not a suit for a wedding.
An Infinite Kind of Love
A Matthew and Sophie Fic
âCan someone get Matthew?â Sophie asked.Â
âOf course.â Taryn darted out to run across the courtyard.Â
When she got back to the suite, Matthew was running in after her.Â
Gwen was naked to the waist and yelped.Â
He slapped a hand over his eyes. âSorry! Sorry! Soph?â
She rushed to him, pulling him out onto the balcony. âIt's safe,â she said, nudging his hand down.Â
The late afternoon sun turned her into nothing more than a silhouette. He had to blink a few times before she came into focus. She'd changed from the short ivory colored dress she'd worn to brunch into a set of loose satin pajamas. Her hair was in rollers, and even with brows that looked too heavy without the rest of her makeup done, she still looked beautiful.Â
âWhat's wrong?â he asked, his hands automatically going to her arms, rubbing up and down. He didn't think it would actually happen, but thoughts of her calling off the wedding had still weaseled their way into the back of his mind when Taryn raced into the groom's room telling him Sophie wanted to see him.Â
âNothings wrong,â she said, looking into his face. Despite only wearing a t-shirt and shorts, he looked fresh faced, and handsome. He and the boys had gone to the barber shop after brunch, and they'd done his hair so his curls were perfectly set and defined. It took all her willpower to not run her fingers through them. Theyâd also given him a straight edge shave, and she could tell how soft his cheeks would be without even touching them.Â
She preferred a bit of scruff on him, but he'd insisted he'd rather be clean shaven, saying he didn't want to look like a Muppet on their wedding day.
âPlus,â he'd said with a mischievous glint in his eye, âdon't want to give you any beard burn,â before rubbing her cheek with his stubbled jaw.
Sheâd laughed and told him she didnât mind.Â
âWhat's up?â he asked now, looking relieved.Â
âI just wanted to see you,â she said, stepping into him and wrapping her arms around his chest.Â
As his arms enclosed around her, she felt his chuckle at the same time she heard it.Â
âI missed you, too,â he said. With the rollers, he couldnât tuck his face into her hair the way he liked to. He settled for resting his lips on her forehead.Â
âFor being our wedding day, we don't see very much of each other,â she said.
While theyâd had a brunch with many of their wedding guests before coming to the ceremony venue to get ready, theyâd slept apart the night before and spent much of the morning away from each other. Then, they were supposed to be apart until the first look and the ceremony. It felt incongruous. This was a celebration of their union. Shouldn't they be together? Â
âI know. It's bullshit,â he whispered.Â
âWhat aftershave did they use?â she asked. He smelled fresh like cut grass and mountain air.Â
âI'm not sure. I picked it because I thought you'd like it.â
The simpleness of the act and of his thoughtfulness made her a little weak in the knees. âIt smells really nice.â
Matthew closed his eyes, drinking in the feel of her body pressed to his, her breath on his neck and her nose in the soft spot under his jaw. Knowing that he'd picked right made pride swell in his chest.
âI'll ask them and get some,â he said.Â
Pulling back, she leaned up to kiss him.Â
It wasn't anything extravagant. It wasn't a kiss that made him break into a hot sweat or one that brought him to his knees. It was loving and soft. There was tongue, because with Sophie, there was always a little tongue.Â
They kissed a few more times before she pulled away to find a look of adoration on his handsome face as he smiled down at her.Â
Caught in the moment, they stayed that way for a few beats longer, just staring at each other until someone cleared their throat.
In the back of her mind, Sophie knew they were all in the room, but it was still a bit shocking when they looked over to find all her bridesmaids, both of their moms and the wedding photographer all gathered around the balcony door.Â
âYou guys are so cute,â Gwen gushed.Â
There wasn't much about their wedding that was traditional. Instead of the usual noon, 2 or 5 o'clock ceremonies, their ceremony was set to begin at 8:30 so it would be dark enough by the time they kissed. They served a cocktail hour with food before the ceremony, at which the bridal party, minus the bride, mingled. After the vows, they were headed to a late-night reception with food trucks, cocktails, and partying.Â
With 20 minutes to go before the ceremony, they all snuck off to a more secluded part of the garden. The groomsmen insisted they wanted to do a first look with Sophie. It turned into a whole thing: groomsmen along with Keith and her stepdad Greg. Then Matthew would come in and join them to get his own first look.
Sophie was hidden behind a trellis in another part of the garden with both of their moms and her bridesmaids.Â
Her mom grabbed her hand to stop her from nervously pulling at her dress, and Sophie felt butterflies attack her stomach.Â
Before the bridesmaids went out to join the guys, Taryn wrapped her in a tight hug. When they parted, she held Sophie at arms length to look her over. âMatthewâs gonna shit himself,â she said, tone full of a kind of teasing approval Sophie never experienced until sheâd met Matthew. Their family teased, but mostly, it was all in good fun. It was rarely the kind of needling teasing she got from her dad as a child.
Once sheâd tried it on for the first time, Sophie couldnât stop thinking about Matthew seeing her in this dress. Sheâd had it custom-made, pieces of a few dresses stolen and sewn together to make exactly what sheâd wanted. The bodice had a plunging neckline that narrowed between her breasts, so it wasnât all that scandalous and floral embroidery that cascaded down onto the A-line skirt. It was simple and understated, just left of center enough to make it unique and just off white enough to be flattering. If the color were a little darker, it might be called blush.
She knew Matthew would love it because she loved it. That was just the kind of guy he was. But Tarynâs reaction still made her insides fizz like champagne.Â
Upon a prompt from their wedding planner, Sophie walked out.Â
The groomsmen were lined up, facing away from her.
They turned around when the photographer, who was standing off to the side with full view of everyones reactions, gave the signal.
As Sophie watched, a broad grin spread over every face. Greg and Keith both started crying, which she hadnât expected. Keith pulled his glasses off so he could wipe his eyes.Â
Greg rushed forward to gather her into a hug. His chest shook with sobs as he whispered, âthank you for letting me be here.â
âYouâre the best dad, Greg. Iâm so glad youâre here.âÂ
âMatthewâs one lucky son of a bitch,â he said, wiping his eyes. âIâm so proud of you.âÂ
She hugged him again, squeezing extra tight.Â
Her brother followed. âYou're so pretty, Soph,â he said. Â
âYou look really handsome in your suit,â she said, wiping at her own tears that had finally spilled over.Â
He worked his thumbs under his suspenders and puffed out his chest.Â
Their laughter was loud and raucous as she struck a pose of her own.Â
When it was his turn, Keith gathered her into his barrel chest and lifted her off the ground in a bear hug.
She let out a surprised little squeak and giggled as her feet kicked out behind her.
âI donât know ââ Keith had to stop to wipe his eyes again after he set her back down, âI donât know what Matthew did to get on your good side, but Iâm sure glad he did.âÂ
âYou raised a good man,â she said, patting him on the chest as they parted, âthatâs what he did.âÂ
He gave her a watery smile and went back to Chantal and Taryn, slinging an arm around each of them.
âMatthewâs gonna lose his mind,â Sam whispered in her ear as they hugged.
She giggled, hoping he was right.Â
And finally (finally, finally!), Matthew was walking down the garden path next to Brady, looking as nervous and excited as she felt and so handsome in his navy blue suit. He had his Louis Vuitton belt on. Even though she thought it was a little distracting to wear to a wedding, he insisted it was his signature piece and couldnât go without it. She found an indulgent smile on her face, glad he was wearing something he loved so much. At least sheâd convinced him to wear real dress shoes and not those ridiculous mules heâd been sporting to the arena all season.Â
Sophie came into view, and all at once, Matthew felt tears sting his eyes. Heâd known he would cry. He knew there was no hope of stopping it. He loved her so much, and this whole day had him all discombobulated. This wasnât even the first time heâd cried, and he knew it wouldnât be the last.Â
After today, he would be her husband. Her husband. He would be her husband, and she would be his wife. And â
She was wearing the most beautiful dress heâd ever seen. Simple and elegant and completely Sophie. A strong pang of longing, love, and nostalgia pulled through him when he realized her lips were even painted the same pink they had been on their first date.Â
She was perfect.
âOh my god,â he said, awestruck as they joined the group.Â
She knew he would probably do that no matter what she was wearing, but it still felt good.Â
Brady stepped forward and gathered her into a hug. âYou look beautiful, Soph,â he said before going to stand with Emma, wiping a few tears from his eyes as he leaned down to whisper to her about how much this reminded him of their own wedding.Â
Finally standing in front of her, Matthew was at a loss for words. Eventually, he just said the thing that kept running through his mind. âHoly Shit.â
Everyone around them laughed.Â
Matthew continued to stare silently as everyone else headed back to start ushering the guests into the ceremony seats.Â
âI donâtâŚâ he paused, trying to articulate the words. He wasnât sure there were words for what he was feeling. âFuck.âÂ
She burst into laughter. âIs that good? Or bad?âÂ
âGood,â he said, half of his mouth tipping up in a smile. âYouâre ââ he blinked a few times, âyouâre so pretty, Sophie.â
Heat flushed into her cheeks. âThank you. I think you look really handsome.âÂ
âYou donât mind the belt?â he asked, tone and eyes teasing as he hooked his thumbs behind it.Â
âNope,â she stepped forward and threw her arms around his neck. âI love you.â
âI love you, too,â he said into her hair, getting a mouth full of hairspray. He turned to lay his cheek against it instead.Â
âI canât believe itâs finally here.âÂ
âI know,â she whispered.Â
His phone buzzed in his pocket at the same time he saw her mom walking down the path that led from the ceremony.Â
âItâs time for me to go,â he whispered.Â
Tightening her arms around him, she resisted nuzzling into his shirt, knowing sheâd get makeup all over the starched white material.Â
âIâll see you in a minute,â she said, pulling back to look into his face.Â
He dipped down to drop a quick kiss to her lips. âSee you in a minute, my betrothed.â
Heâd started calling her that after some venue asked him if he and âhis betrothedâ would be attending a catering tasting together.Â
âSoon not to be,â she said with a wink.Â
He laughed, stole another quick kiss, and hugged her mom before jogging to meet Brady, who was waiting at the end of the path.Â
Sophie asked her mom to walk her down the aisle. She thought the idea of a man giving a woman away was archaic anyway, but especially after her dad left, she vowed never to have a man walk her down the aisle at her wedding.Â
So when the music started to play for their bridal party, an instrumental version of Here Comes the Sun â requested by Matthew because he called Sophie his ray of sunshine and they were heralding her entrance â she and her mom walked to the end of the pathway that was serving as their aisle.Â
Everything looked beautiful. Matthew was standing with their officiant â someone he grew up with who was now a pastor â under a large trellis, covered in a vine of blooming jasmine. The small white flowers (another reason her dress couldnât be white) stood out against the mens dark suits and the lilac of the bridesmaids' dresses. Everything was bathed in the gentle golden glow of the candles, lanterns, and fairy lights strewn throughout the garden. It was like walking into a dream.
The song she would walk down the aisle to began, itâs jazzy, guitar playing softly from the speakers hidden around their guests.Â
The officiant instructed everyone to stand, and they did, turning to look at her, as she and her mom stopped at the end of the sidewalk.Â
While everyone looked at her, she looked at Matthew. Watching his smile and his breathless excitement as she made her way to him. He was even bouncing on the balls of his feet. Her own heart ticked in her ears, and she concentrated on the song lyrics in an effort to keep herself from running to him.Â
When we were strangers I watched you from afar When we were lovers I loved you with all my heart But now it's getting late And the moon is climbing high I wanna celebrate See it shining in your eyes Because I'm still in love with you I wanna see you dance again Because I'm still in love with you On this harvest moon
Watching Sophie walk down the aisle, her lips painted the same color pink they were on their first date, it felt a little like watching her walk through their history. He was outrageously glad to be on this side of it, having won her trust and love and finding himself in a situation where he had the chance to be with her forever.Â
Her mom hugged her and went to sit with Greg.Â
Sophie took the last three steps to stand in front of Matthew by herself. She was ready to take this last leap, eager to no longer do this life on her own.
The officiant invited everyone to sit and began talking about matrimony. She missed most of the speech, too busy thinking about the vows sheâd written and watching Matthew. The navy suit made his eyes a deeper shade of blue than usual.Â
Finally, after what felt to Matthew like forty minutes, though it couldnât have been more than five, they were invited to read the vows theyâd written.Â
âWhen we agreed to write our own vows, I made Soph promise to let me go first so I didnât have the pressure of trying to follow her.â
Sophie and the crowd laughed. Matthew noticed his mom wipe a tear from her cheek. His dad put an arm around her.Â
Taking in a deep breath, Matthew closed his eyes for a moment before looking back to the printed piece of paper Brady had handed him.Â
âSophie,â he began. His voice wobbled a little. The way she was looking at him made him feel light-headed. The culmination of the day coming together and seeing her looking so beautiful in her dress was too much. Truth be told, he was a bit shocked he was even still standing.Â
She took his free hand, and the grounding in her touch centered his breathing.
He looked at her and began again. Â
âSophie, if I tried to articulate all the ways I love you, Iâm pretty sure weâd be here for several days because I donât think I could ever find the right words.âÂ
The audience awed.Â
âSo instead of that, I wrote down some of the things I love about you, and what Iâll try to be for you, and youâll just have to put up with the words Iâve got.âÂ
She snorted, and he heard Brady laugh behind him.Â
âSo here goes. I love that you make me quiet.âÂ
Tears pressed behind her eyes. She hadnât expected him to go for the jugular right off the bat.Â
âMost people know I have a pretty hard time shutting up,â he paused, listening to his dad laugh, âbut you taught me the value in quiet moments, and I love that I fell in love with you in them. I love that I get a side of you no one else does, and I love that you trust me enough to show it to me.âÂ
A few tears leaked out and slid down her cheeks. Gwen slipped a tissue into her hand, and Sophie smiled gratefully, pressing it to her lashes to stop her mascara from running.
âI love that you love my family and that I feel like I could be with you forever, and we would never get bored. I love that weâve created our own little ecosystem and that it thrives because weâre both invested and working on it.âÂ
His mom was crying into a handkerchief. Â
âI canât promise that Iâll always be this good looking.âÂ
The suddenness of the joke made Sophie bark out a sudden laugh, much too loud over the amplification system. Her hand slapped over her mouth to quiet the sound, and he laughed indulgently, as if that was the exact reaction heâd been going for.Â
âBut what I can promise is this: that Iâll always try to protect you, except when it comes to spiders.â He paused for the laughter to die down, âThat Iâll always do my best to be present when Iâm home, and that Iâll always listen to and help you achieve your dreams. Most of all, I promise that I wonât ever stop trying to earn and deserve your trust and love.â
He folded the paper up. His mom was crying, as was Emma. He was pretty certain Taryn would be tearing up, too, but he couldnât see her with the way the bridal party was standing. He wanted to end it in some fancy way like he knew she would, but he didnât know how, other than to say, âI love you and I canât wait to start this new chapter with you.â
Sophie wiped her nose and dabbed at the tears in her eyes. âI love you, too.â
She sniffed and swallowed, trying to get her bearings.
âMatthew always tries to tell me he isnât good with words,â Sophie said, giving him a wry look as her fingers squeezed around his, âbut I think you all can be the judge of that.âÂ
He laughed.Â
She coughed gently to get some of the tears out of her voice. âWhen I started writing my vows, I couldnât think of anything but love. Iâve been trying to understand it my whole life. When I was a kid, I thought I had to parcel out my love to make sure it didnât run out, and other people had to do the same. Matthew, although you didnât teach me that thereâs an infinite amount of love in the world, you did prove that infinite love exists in a way I had never experienced before with a man.âÂ
Now he was crying.Â
âIâve always felt a little on my own,â she explained, âa little too quirky to be loved in that big infinite way.âÂ
The audience was listening, wrapt. This was exactly why he didnât want to go after her. Not only would he be a mess, there would be no way he could possibly follow her words.
âThe last thing I expected in life was for this muscle-bound, curly-haired, rough and tumble hockey player to not only understand my quirks but to embrace and encourage them.â Her voice trembled. âIâm forever grateful I can take down my walls with you, Matthew.â
He took the tissue Brady handed him, unashamed, and wiped the tears from his eyes.Â
âAnd for your patience and consistency, even when I can be skittish and uptight.â She paused, listening to her half of the audience twitter.
âI promise Iâll kill the spiders,â she said, and he laughed along with the rest of their guests. âAnd I promise to never be unreasonably jealous of your job. But most of all, I promise to always be honest and to love you in the infinite way you showed me was possible.âÂ
He wanted to kiss her. He wanted to lean in and just lay one on her. Tradition be damned. He pressed his mouth to hers, mumbling how much he loved her against her lips. When he pulled back, her eyes told him how much she loved him in return.
The officiant led them through the traditional âtil death do us partâ stuff, and they exchanged rings. It was a strange thing to feel the weight of the band on his finger, but Matthew had never been so glad to have something tying him down. It felt like he might just float away without it.Â
âYou may now kiss the bride,â the officiant said with a wide smile.Â
Matthewâs hand slipped up to cradle her jaw, and he looked into her eyes as the fingers on her left hand tapped out five beats on the back of his arm.Â
And just like they rehearsed, just like they planned, just like Ryan said it would happen, the moment their lips touched, fireworks screeched to life behind them, screaming into the sky and exploding in a fan of sparks and color and sound.Â
It was perfect.Â
It was this video, first showing their faces as they looked adoringly at each other and then cutting back to catch the fireworks igniting the moment they kissed, that Matthew shared on his Instagram.Â
Itâs been fireworks from the first kiss, and weâre still going strong.Â

Not Easily Broken Chapter 3
Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
Summary: Natasha and Reader go through a tragic divorce
Masterlist | General Masterlist
3/10
Note: Yes, it's getting finished besties.
W/c: 6k (whew!)
TW: Mention of miscarriage
Natasha wasnât your first kiss but sheâs the first kiss that mattered. You can remember that moment like it was yesterday. The first time she placed her lips on yours. Eleven years ago if you remember it correctly. You had recently been appointed the Creative Director at Stark Industries. Besides Pepper Potts, you were Tony's, right-hand man. You were the woman in charge of overseeing every single creative process dealing with the multibillion-dollar company. You spent more time traveling and in the office than you liked but it came with its perks. With a great salary and good benefits package you wouldnât complain at all even if most of your time was spent rolling your eyes at the ideas Tony would come up with.
You would see Natasha briefly during your time at the tower. She would be in the room one second and gone the next. It was only after getting to know her you realized that Natasha purposely distanced herself from everyone and everything. There were only three women in the world who could scare Tony Stark. Pepper Potts, Natasha Romanoff, and you. Youâd giggle at every snide remark Tony would make only after Natasha had left the room. You would agree with her on many of the times she put him in his place. The more you saw Natasha the more you wanted to know the woman behind the moniker Black Widow. Without knowing why you made it a mission to see more of her. So, you dropped in on Tony more. Youâd ask for Natashaâs input, always remembering to include her. She tried to hide the look of surprise when you would ask her what she thought. As if her expertise was only in the field of battle.
You made her laugh on every occasion. Your thoughts were consumed by the redheaded woman with the gorgeous smile.
As Tonyâs employee, you were invited to his parties. Boy, did he throw a lot of them. Many of them you would skip. No one would miss you there. At least not that you noticed. It wasnât until the night of Tonyâs New Yearâs Eve party that things changed for you.
You were dressed in a sparkly black number. The dress was short and backless. It hugged your curves in all of the right places and you looked damn good. You felt sexy and ready for the new year to come. There were a few men and women eyeing you all night. Some had even dared to approach you. You didnât care about their advances. None of them interested you when the one you truly wanted was in the very same room.
Natasha commanded the room with her presence. Every click of her heels and sway of her hips left all eyes on her. She charmed the room. She chatted, made jokes, and even kissed Rhodey on the cheek under the mistletoe leftover from Christmas. Natasha was breathtaking and yet you could tell she wasnât having a good time. She seemed stiff and on guard. There was a certain air about her that you werenât sure if other people picked up on. Natasha was a spy after all so she always had to be alert. You could see the way she tensed when Richard Matthews, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, placed his hand on her forearm as he flirted with her. Her eyes quickly cut to his hand before they flew back up to his face. She seemed to be analyzing his flirting but enjoying herself. She flirted back with him just as hard and for a moment you wondered if she would sleep with him that night. Natasha wasnât yours. You were barely friends and yet the thought of her and that man being together made you sick. You felt the nausea roll over you and you excused yourself to the kitchen. Only a few of the catering staff remained as they packed up for the night. A cleaning crew would come to clean in the morning.
You waited for them to exit the kitchen before clutching the counter. You leaned your weight against it taking deep breaths as you tried to reel yourself in. You were in love with Natasha. You were in love with the Black Widow. A startling truth that had sent you spiraling. Before you could think any further on what this meant the sound of her honey-smooth voice caressed every inch of your body.
âFancy seeing you here,â You could picture the smirk on her face as she spoke. You took another deep breath before turning to Natasha. She glanced behind her as the swinging door stood still again. Her eyes never left yours as her brows knit in concern. âY/n, are you okay?â
âIâm fine.â You frowned. âI just..â Natasha waited expectantly for you to say something. She waited for you to tell her what was on your mind. You could come up with a lie and say you had too much to drink but nothing came out of your mouth. Before you could stop yourself you closed the distance between the two of you to hold Natashaâs face between your hands. You searched her eyes for any resistance, you waited for her to say no, but nothing came. Her breath caught in her chest as she waited for you to kiss her.
âDo it.â She dared you. You pounced with a fierce press of your lips to her. Your senses were overwhelmed with Natasha. She smelled delicious, tasted divine, and the feel of her pressed against you was heavenly. You were pretty sure you had died and gone to heaven as you lowered your hands to wrap around her waist. You pulled Natasha closer so that you were pressed chest to chest. The stilettos she was wearing worked to her advantage as she wrapped her arms around your neck. The sounds of the party fell on deaf ears as your tongue explore her mouth. Only when a moan left her lips did you pull back. Your eyes widened and you moved with an apology at the tip of your tongue.
âDonât,â Natasha spoke softly. She tilted her head to kiss you again. âIâve been wanting to do that for so long.â She whispered.
âReally?â You asked.
âSince the day I met you.â She shrugged.
âWell, why didnât you say anything? Or do anything?â You asked incredulously.
âI dropped hints but youâre a tough nut to crack.â Natasha reminded you. Suddenly you were pulled back to all of the times Natasha dropped by your office. She was always around whenever you had a meeting with Tony. She even texted you to ask for your coffee order a few times. Now that you think about it, it didnât seem like she did any of the stuff she did for you for anyone else.
âOh.â It dawned on you. Natashaâs way of flirting was different from the Black Widowâs. Her display out there with Richard was vastly different from the way she handled you.
âYeah,â Natasha half-smiled. You could see the slight nervousness in her expression. âIâve never done this before.â She dropped her arms to her side. You immediately missed the contact. You wanted to have her close all the time if you could. âDated without the expectation of sex. Most of my relationships were curated for work. I-I donât know how to be someoneâs anything. For you, Iâm willing to try.â The vulnerability Natasha was showing at that moment made your heart soar.
âIâm willing to try too.â You told her. You reached out your hand and she took it. You pulled her back into you. You took the lead and wrapped her arms around your neck again. It was that night you knew you were a goner. The next few months you and Natasha were inseparable. You were on cloud nine when it came to Natasha.
Everything was easier with her. The two of you had your own traumas and insecurities to work through but it was easy. Loving Natasha was easy despite how much she insisted she wasnât made for it. As your love for her grew so did your desire to marry her. Two years into your relationship you tied the knot. You bought the very same home you grew your family in. Five bedrooms, three baths, a nice backyard for your future children to play in. Life with Natasha was everything you ever wanted. You welcomed Ryan into the world two years into your marriage. Then Emma. Life with Natasha was magical until it wasnât.
You donât want to dwell on the ugly too much. At least not when youâre in the arrival line of Orlando International Airport. You do focus on how the rental youâre in smells ânew car freshâ. You tap your fingers against the steering wheel hoping to stave off some of your boredom. You glance around at the moving cars weaving in and out of the line when you spot them. Your family. Theyâre a few feet away and itâs clear they donât notice you. You can see Natasha instruct the children to wait there as she reaches behind her in search of her carry-on. She pulls out her phone to check what you assume is her Imessage app. She checks the phone and tucks it back into her pocket. She thinks youâre not going to show. When itâs your turn you honk the horn and pull in front of them. You unbuckle your seatbelt and park the car all within a few seconds. You make sure itâs safe to open your door before exiting the car.
Natashaâs look of surprise is quickly masked by something else. She thought you would send a car for them instead. Thereâs a cheer from Emma as she spots you. She jumps up and down in place as she hugs her blanket to her chest.
âMommy, youâre in Florida too?â Emma asks as you plant a kiss on the top of her head. You give Ryan a kiss on his head before grabbing at their luggage.
âYes, I am.â You smile down at her.
âYou didnât give Mommy a kiss,â Emma points out as you place their things gently into the trunk of the car.
âOh, itâs okay, she doesnât need to.â Natasha dismisses but Emmaâs pout grows. You realized that you two should have talked about how you were going to handle things with the kids before now.
âBut Mommy always kisses hello?â Emma reminds you. Sheâs confused. If you both were here in the same place it must mean you were going to be together again. That meant her mommies could kiss each other again. Right?
âEmma, remember what we talked about?â Youâre not seriously going to lecture her about consent in the middle of the airport but she might need a reminder.
âItâs fine,â Natasha leans over to you, placing her hand on your forearm, as she moves to kiss your cheek. She leans back with fluttering lashes as she crosses her eyes to the kids. This was not a conversation you needed to have right now. You nod and she turns to them. âMommy is going to show us around Florida. Weâre going to be staying with her on our vacation. I wanted it to be a surprise for you.â Sheâs lying. If you know Natasha and you do, she didnât tell the kids to protect their hearts if you changed your mind. You didnât blame her.
âYeah, Iâm going to show you so many cool places,â You tell them.
âDisney World?â Ryan questions.
âWhatever you want.â You tap his nose. âNow what do you say we get this show on the road before Mommy gets a ticket?â You gesture over your shoulder to the airport police hovering a few feet away. You help Emma into her booster seat while Natasha helps Ryan into his. Soon enough youâre on the road and on your way to your hotel. The car ride is relatively silent. Ryan and Emma seem to be holding their own conversation about who theyâre going to see when they go to DisneyWorld. You glance over to Natasha to see that sheâs watching you.
âIâm really glad you came,â You inform her. âThank you for taking a chance on me. Again.â
She shrugs half-heartedly. What is she supposed to say? Everything she wants to say would probably be best told when the children are asleep. When youâre alone. You turn back to the road to drive as you both listen to the kids and their stories.
Thereâs a bit of a problem when you arrive at the hotel. The rooms you got were connected by one door. No big deal. The first room was the one youâd been sleeping in since you arrived two days ago. It was equipped with a king-sized bed, flat-screen tv, and a very impressive mini-fridge. The second bedroom had two double beds and many of the same amenities. The rooms themselves were impressive. It was the kids who made things a bit more difficult for you.
âI want my own bed.â Ryan declared as he tossed his shoes somewhere in the corner. Natasha sighed from behind him as she grabbed the offending items to place them inside the closet. Emma followed after her brother as she plopped onto the second bed.
âI want my own too.â She smiled sweetly up at you.
âUm, one of these was for your mom,â You scratch the back of your head. Natashaâs eyes fly to yours. âI just didnât want to assume that you wanted to sleep in bed with me.â You try to mumble but by the mischievous smirk on Emmaâs face, sheâs heard you. What was with her and this matchmaking thing she has going on? Ryan seems to be in on it too as he looks between the two of you.
âWe think the kids should have their own room. No mommies allowed.â Ryan shrugs as though heâs not trying to hurt your feelings.
âIâm being kicked out by my own kids.â Natasha rolls her eyes. âI am fine sleeping there. With you.â Natasha tries to appear nonchalant.
âOkay, well letâs take your bags right in here,â You grab for one of Natashaâs suitcases and she follows you into the next room. The door is still open when you hear Emmaâs little voice trail into your room.
âDo you think theyâre going to make a baby?â
âYou need a penis to do that,â Ryan tells her as if itâs obvious.
Your eyes widen and look to Natasha for answers.
âThere was a kid, Connie Clark, in Ryanâs class who apparently had âthe talkâ with her parents so naturally she came to school and told everyone.â Natasha wheeled her bag to the closet. âWhich means Ryan told Emma which also means I had to have a very awkward conversation with them about their bodies, autonomy, and the very, very basic parts of where babies come from.â Right. Another thing you missed. While you did find it a bit funny it was only a reminder that you were missing out on a lot. Natasha and you have always had those conversations with the kids together.
âSeems there still may be a few things we have to discuss.â Natasha shook her head. She looks at the bed and the side youâve taken.
âI can sleep on the pull-out couch they have,â You tell her, and she holds up a hand to stop you from speaking.
âIs sleeping with me going to upset you?â
âNo, no, I just donât want to move too fast with you and mess things up.â
âWell if all weâre doing is sleeping you canât mess things up,â Natasha assures you. She moves to pull you to sit on the bed. âI came because I wanted to. I came because I want this to work.â
âMe too,â You confess. You find yourself focusing on her lips.
âYou know I never did get a proper hello kiss,â Natasha says. She leans over to caress your cheek just as you turn to her. You donât hesitate this time. Kissing Natasha was all you ever wanted to do. Itâs the first time your lips have been on hers since the day in the kitchen. On Emmaâs birthday. It lasts longer than you anticipated as you allowed yourself to get lost in Natasha. Itâs the sneaky giggling from behind you that causes you to pull away. You canât tell which one of them has made those obscene kissing noises but youâre sure you can take a guess. âOur kids are assholes.â Natasha opens her eyes slightly. Thereâs that glint of happiness in her eyes you havenât seen in a while. Her guard is down.
âThat they are,â You bring your hand up to Natashaâs lip to wipe your gloss from a corner of her mouth. Her eyes darken in lust and for a second you wonder if youâre going to survive the night with her in the same bed. You clear your throat and look over to the open door that connects your room. âOkay, you two, letâs get you fed. Where are we going to eat today?â You stand from the bed. You leave Natasha sitting there with her thoughts as you wrangle the kids.
******************
Lunch with the family is fun. Itâs amazing how easily youâre able to slip back into your roles with them. Ryan talks to you about his new leggo set while Emma pretends sheâs a queen as she sips her lemonade. Natasha is content to watch you interact with them both. Theyâve missed you itâs clear and youâve missed them just as much. Thereâs a message on your phone that chimes and you tuck it away for later. Whoever it is can wait. You took your meetings earlier this morning with the sole purpose of spending time with your family. Nothing would ruin this for you.
******************
The next destination on your list is the Sea Life Orlando Aquarium. You want to say you bought the tickets for the kids but you can feel Natasha vibrating with excitement as she grips your hand. Sometime during your entry into the aquarium, her hand slipped into yours and she never let go. The kids walked ahead of you as you entered the first hall. Seeing the kids happy with the sea life was amazing, seeing Natasha excited was an entirely different feeling. She didnât have much of a childhood to go and do all of this. During the time you dated and throughout your marriage, there were times when youâd take her to experience things for the first time. The aquarium was her favorite. Despite how much she protested the idea of an animal she loved them. Especially sea animals.
The 360 aquarium proved to be the most fun as Natasha crouched down with the kids to point out the different types of fish. She smiled widely turning to see if you were paying attention as Ryan read from the information slate. It looks beautiful on her. Happiness. Her smile stops you in your tracks as you watch the way she interacts with them. The way she loves them. She guides them while reading about the fish whenever she gets a chance. You didnât doubt that a lot of it she already knew. As you continued through the aquarium you almost expected Natasha to take your hand again and she did. It all felt right.
******************* Itâs later that night that you feel the awkwardness of your situation. How even after nine years of marriage youâve gone through a divorce that has changed the both of you. After helping Natasha put the children to bed you both go through your night routines separately. While Natasha is in the shower you check emails and answer back any that you find pressing. You roll your eyes when you find that Tony wants to put a real shark tank in one of his hotels. Totally not your problem right now. You send him a quick text before plugging your phone up for the night. You didnât hear the shower shut off or Natasha exit the bathroom until she was sitting on the bed in a silk pajama set. Itâs a plain shirt and shorts but it does manage to turn you on with the amount of skin youâre seeing. Natasha dries her hair with a towel and itâs then you notice her arms are more defined than you last remember them.
You move to sit next to her and she stops her towel drying to look at you. You take the towel into your hands to help her. She melts into you as she allows you to take on the task.
âToday was fun,â Her voice is raspy and filled with exhaustion. The activities of today are catching up to her.
âYeah,â You say. When youâre done you toss the towel onto a nearby chair. You could deal with it later. You lower your arms to rest them at Natashaâs waist as you try to keep your composure. She smells like vanilla and coconuts. Itâs only recently that sheâs used a soap that has a scent. Being a spy she was always very diligent in not making herself noticeable in any way.
She stiffens in your arms just before she allows you to continue. With your left hand, you sweep her hair to her other shoulder to expose her neck. You press a tentative kiss against the flesh before trailing more down her shoulder. Natasha sighs as your touches become more firm. Your hands rub her sides and move down to the top of her thighs. You massage her skin as she leans further into you. Itâs not inherently sexual but you can feel yourself becoming wetter just at the feel of Natasha. You dare to run your fingers up the leg of her shorts. Natasha allows you to. Her skin is smooth and soft under your fingers. At least until you feel the raised skin a little higher on her thigh. Itâs at an awkward angle and it would be hidden behind her shorts but probably noticeable in a bikini. Itâs higher up on her thigh. You feel around it feeling her once again stiffen as you try to assess the freshness of this wound.
âIt was four months ago.â Natashaâs voice is devoid of any emotion. You furrow your brows. âI was in Madripoor with Steve and we took down a few guys interfering with S.H.I.E.L.D.âs database. Stabbed me right in the leg before he got away.â How didnât you know this? Where were the kids at the time? Did she take care of herself while tending to them? âItâs old news. Seriously.â
âIâm sorry, Natasha.â You distance yourself more for her than you. âIâm so sorry.â You say for really no reason at all. Youâre not the one that stabbed her or sent her on the mission. Natasha could take care of herself.
âMe too.â She whispers before she climbs into the bed. Your moment of intimacy is over and you know the both of you are too tired to discuss the implications of that. You hate that this even needed to be discussed. You felt like a stranger when it came to Natasha. Sheâs been through so much these past few years and you have a feeling youâre only scratching the surface. You climb onto your side of the bed, reaching for the string of the lamp to turn it off, as you think about just how much youâve missed.
******************
The next day proves to be different for all of you. Work has you swamped with meetings that run over more than usual. There are only a few more days you have left here in Florida and youâd rather be spending them with your family. Disney World was supposed to be today. You promised them. Again. Yet you have to shoot a quick text to Natasha informing her to take them on her own as you donât see yourself getting out of here any time soon. You donât want to imagine how pissed she would be and how disappointed they would be.
You notice your phone go off throughout the day but youâre too busy to get into it. You know itâs Natasha keeping you updated. Sheâs probably sent you so many pictures and videos of the kids. Hopefully, youâll be done with your last meeting in time for dinner. As a creative director, you canât leave things to the other employees. Not like this. So you hunker down and keep pushing through in hopes of getting back to the hotel with your family.
Itâs dark when you enter the hotel room. You cross the room to kick off your shoes before tiptoeing to Emma and Ryanâs bedroom. Theyâre fast asleep. Emma with her blanket tucked into her and Ryan with a new toy by his side. You kiss both of their heads before returning to your room.
You notice the balcony door is open and the cool breeze from there. Natasha is sitting in one of the chairs peering out at the pool below you. Youâre on the third floor so not too high up but itâs still an impressive view. You decide to join her.
âHey, Iâm so sorry, I didnât know that would take so long. We had to go over contracts, marketing, things with legal.â You tell her as you move to give her a kiss on her forehead. You sit down in the chair beside her. Natasha glances at you for a second before returning her gaze back to the view. Thereâs a silence that sits between the two of you before she speaks.
âDid I make a mistake coming here?â Natasha asks. She picks up her glass of red wine to sip from it.
âWhat, Nat, no.â You tell her.
âHmm,â She swallows the wine. She sets down her cup and looks over to you. âIt shouldnât hurt. I should be used to it by now. You are too busy for us. We donât fit into this new life youâve made and no matter how much youâre trying itâs just not working.â Your heart drops as you realize you really did mess up.
âIâm-â
âYouâre sorry.â Natasha finishes for you. âI know. I think we would have been fine if youâd bothered to answer any of the texts I sent you. If you bothered to reply at all. Iâm not pushy and Iâm not clingy. You know this. I couldnât help but feel I was back in that same space of being the doting and loving housewife who waits and waits and begs for their spouse to love them.â
âYou donât have to beg with me, Natasha.â You assure her. âI didnât think it would bother you for me to give this one day. I mean this is a work trip.â
âThat you invited us to.â She reminds you.
Right.
âI changed all of my schedules. The rest of the week is open to be with you guys.â You inform her. Natasha tilts her head to see if youâre telling the truth. You are.
âCan I ask you what changed?â Natasha suddenly asks. âWhat shifted for you? You had been creative director when we started dating. The past few years youâve been distant. You canât just say youâre busy. Weâve both always been busy.â
âNat,â You sigh. You really didnât want to get into this. At her look you know itâs now or never. âI donât know.â Itâs the truth. âAfter we had Emma I began to feel lost. I felt like I lost who I was and the only way to salvage that was work. I felt weighed down by something and I couldnât quite tell what it was. We had opposite schedules and it all was just so easier to be at work and know my role there.â
âYou felt like we weighed you down?â
âNat, no, thatâs not what Iâm saying.â You shake your head. âI felt the opposite. I felt happy. I felt loved but I was afraid. That eventually Iâd become the imposter that I felt since I was a little girl. Eventually, it would all blow up in my face. But itâs not so black and white. We grew apart for a bit. We distanced ourselves in more ways than one.â
âRight,â Natasha says.
âNatasha, you have to understand that while I take the blame for everything Iâve done youâre not as innocent as you think.â You want to take it back before you fully said it. It could have been worded differently. The look in her eyes tells you that much. Too late.
âWhat did I do? Please tell me.â Natasha sits up a bit straighter.
âNat, Iâm not trying to be combative.â You glance behind you to make sure the children arenât coming. âI meant that both of us have had times where we were less than nice to each other. I remember that day a few years ago you came home and started arguments for no real reason at all.â
âThere was always a reason.â Natasha frowned.
âSo tell me what!â You say a bit louder than necessary. âEverything I did to apologize and make better it never happened. As much as youâd like to think that you were being the perfect wife there are moments where I just couldnât make you happy. We didnât know how to work through our problems. That much is clear. The entire reason for the divorce was to give us both that breath of air.â
âAs if you didnât have it before,â Natasha mutters.
âFuck, Nat,â You cry out. âThis is exactly what happens. You beat around the bush. You donât say what you mean until youâre angry and ready to throw it in my face. Do you want me to say I was busy? Yes, Iâll admit that. Do you want me to say how Iâve disappointed our kids? Iâll admit that too. Do you want me to say that Iâm the sole reason our marriage went to shit? Not going to happen.â
âThatâs not what I want.â Natasha looks down at her hands.
âThen tell me, Iâm not Wanda, I donât. I canât read minds.â You wave your hand for her to look at you. âIf I did it would save me a lot of trouble let me tell you. What is it that you want from me, Nat?â
âI wanted you to be there,â Natasha shouts over you. âI wanted you to be there. Okay.â Sheâs speaking past tense.
âWhat, Nat, be there for what?â Your voice is lower and more hushed as you realize how broken she sounds. Her tears are falling quicker this time and it startles you. âNat?â
She looks down at her hands avoiding your gaze as she speaks. âDo you remember November 5th a few years ago? I kept nagging you about an appointment we had.â You shake your head in the negative. âWell, I do because I programmed it into both of our calendars.â At your look of confusion, she continues. âYou had an impromptu work trip and I figured you just forgot about the day and that I could just reschedule. But I had this bright idea and I went to the doctorâs alone.â Natasha rolls her eyes at herself. âSo I went. I wanted to know for myself. Whether I could.â Natasha isnât speaking in complete sentences which still leaves you a bit confused and youâre catching on quickly. Your eyes widen. Youâre putting two and two together. You remember it now. The trip had been a month-long and had taken up all of your energy. You remember her calling you and you being excited about finally making progress with work. It takes everything in you to recall the way she sounded. Over the phone, Natasha sounded different but you thought she was just missing you. âI wanted to surprise you.â
âNo, no, no,â You shake your head. You donât know if itâs possible but your brain is thinking before you can stop it. âPlease, Natasha.â You move from your chair to sit on your knees in front of her. Had she been pregnant? Did she miscarry? How could you not have noticed? You want to puke with the thought of Natasha clutching her stomach in pain as she lost her baby. Your baby. Alone. She can see the wheels turning in your head.
âIt never happened.â She reveals. âEven after the reversal of the tubal ligation that the Red Room gave me, it didnât happen. The doctor said that with my line of work and how much trauma Iâve taken to my abdomen even with IVF, the chances of it happening were slim to none.â She lowers her eyes to her lap. This is the most vulnerable youâve ever seen Natasha and you know itâs taking a lot out of her to tell you this. âI just⌠I wanted to give you a baby.â Natasha blinks back the tears and your heart shatters instantly. âI wanted to feel them inside of me. I wanted my belly to grow too. I wanted that for myself and I know itâs stupid that I ever thought I could.â Natashaâs bottom lip trembles and you know sheâs trying to keep herself from crying any further.
âYouâre not stupid for wanting that, Tasha.â You reach your hand up to take hers in yours.
âArenât I? I mean, before I met you, I knew it could never happen and I was fine with it.â Natasha shakes her head. âI was fine with never having that. I resented you for giving me hope. I resented you for being what I couldnât. Thatâs when the fighting continued. You didnât notice and all I wanted for you was for you to hold me and tell me things were going to be okay.â
âAnd I just worked and worked and assumed that you werenât happy because I wasnât making you happy.â You summarize. Fuck.
âPlease donât blame yourself for what I just told you.â Natasha frowns. â I didnât lie. I was still happy with you. I still wanted you. I wanted that depression to go away and I wanted to forget I ever even tried. I wanted us to push forward.â
âInstead we became something entirely different.â You say. Natasha nods in agreement. âWe were too many things at once without ever really being together at the time. We grew into something ugly and we never addressed it healthily. I became distant because I thought I couldnât make you happy and then you thought the same. I just want to make it clear youâre not less of a woman than me because of this. I wanted you and still want you despite all of it. I love you, Natasha. I love you and I always have.â
âHow do we fix this?â Natasha peers out over the balcony. âHow do we fix us without falling into the same pattern?â
âWe take it one day at a time.â You say. âWe do the work. We stay honest. And I- I take off of work for a while.â
âWhat, y/n, you donât have to do that.â Natasha looks at you again.
âNo, I think I do,â You assure her. âAt least for now. My family needs me. I want to be there for you.â
Natashaâs green eyes show just how much sheâs hurt and heartbroken all at once.
âOkay,â She says finally. You stand to lead her back to the bed. She follows and waits for you to crawl under the covers. You raise the cover for her to climb in and you take her into your arms. She turns so that sheâs the small spoon to your big one. Sheâs pressed so close to you and you never want to let her go. You can feel the sobs rack her body as she silently cries. You can feel your own tears drenching your pillow as you kiss the back of her head.
Marriage was hard. Marriage was tough. But so were you.
You and Natasha would work on things together. You would take it one day at a time just like you said.

The Art of Etiquette Part 1 | Jeon Jungkook
Summary: Your Step Father would like to introduce you into high society but you're required to take lessons to learn how to play the part and from your instructor's perspective it seems like you have a lot of catching up to do. Pairing: f!reader x Etiquette instructor Jungkook Word Count: 2.2k Warnings: Explicit Language, not really anything else at this point lol a/n: Planning on turning this into a short series so please let me know what you think <3 p.s. this is horribly edited and was written in one sitting lol
"Why do I have to suffer the consequences of the decisions you made for this family?" I say chasing after my mother as she walks down the main hallway in our new home. "Y/n becoming a debutant is not a consequence" she says, making her way into the main living room.
"To me it is" I complain, dreading this entire ordeal already. "The whole process only lasts about a year so-" "A year? You expect me to be parade around in pretty dresses and entertain people I have absolutely no interest in just because you decided to marry a rich man? Yeah, no I'm not doing it" I say, watching as she takes a seat on the couch waiting for me to tell her my grievances, knowing that I won't back down easily.Â
"It's not a huge commitment I promise. You'll have etiquette lessons twice a week, go to a fitting every once in a while and take dance lessons once a week. I'm sure you can sacrifice a few hours out of your week for this. "Your father wa-" "Step father" I cut her off, making my stance on the man known. "Your step father wants to introduce you as his daughter and the best way to do so would be having you come out at a debutant ball" she explains hoping to show me their reasoning behind it. "Oh I'm straight so don't worry I won't be needing a coming out event or anything like that" I say teasing her.Â
"Very funny" she says clearly unamused, "I would really appreciate it if you just did this for us, and if you don't want to do it for us then do it for you, for your future. Do you know how pivotal this moment could be for you? A lot of important people go to these balls so if you want to make a name for yourself in this city then that's a great place to start" she says hoping to entice me, showing how this could benefit me as well. "Just think about it, okay?" she says standing up to leave the room and placing a hand on my shoulder as a sign of reassurance, leaving me conflicted.Â
A few days later at the breakfast table I finally decide to give them my answer. "Um, dad" I say hoping to get his attention. "Yes honey?" he says putting down the newspaper that he had just been flipping through. "I think I want to go through with the whole debutant thing if you still wanted me to" I say playing with my sleeve, still unsure of the choice I've made but I guess theres no going back now. "That's great! I'll contact the agency and get all of your lessons set up straight away" he says quickly texting his assistant, asking them to get things set in motion.
"Would you prefer private lessons or would you like to take them with some of the other girls that are preparing to come out as well?" he questions, still looking down at his phone. "Oh it's okay don't worry about getting her pri-" "Private lessons would be great" I say cutting my mom off. The less interactions I can have with these spoiled rich kids, the better. I send her a tight lipped smile, telling her to back off before I change my mind and she does just that.Â
"Alright, I have Matthew working on it now so we could probably get everything set up by the time your classes end. You finish up at four right?" he asks, catching me off guard, "You know my class schedule?" I question. "Of course I do! What kind of father would I be if I didn't pay attention to my daughter's academics?" he says, giving me a warm smile before taking one last sip of his coffee, standing up to go.Â
"I've gotta head off, love you" he says giving my mother a quick peck and then coming over to me to give me a kiss on the top of my head. "Have a good day you two" he says to us as his final adieu, heading out to where his driver is waiting for him. "Thank you" my mother says, happy with the effort I'm putting into assimilating our family. "I'm doing this for you guys, but I'm also doing this for me like you had said, I guess I'll just have to suffer through it for the next year" I say, already questioning myself.Â
"I promise you won't regret it!" she reassures me, reaching out for my hand across the table and I mirror her action. 'I sure hope not' I say to myself and give her a pained smile before leaving to head off to class.Â
"You're what?" my friend Jesse say, not believing a word I just said. "I'm gonna start taking lessons to become a debutante" I say, repeating myself, hoping he'll just take in the information so we can move past it. "So you're blowing me off so you can go to Barbie school?" he says, still in disbelief. "It's not Barbie school" I say rolling my eyes at him before sitting down at the table we usually hang out at during our breaks.Â
"Aren't they going to be dressing you up and making you all girly so you can go to tea parties and balls?" he questions, sitting across from me. "Yes..." I say trailing off not being able to prove him wrong. "Barbie school" he says satisfied with himself, taking a bite out of the apple he had just bought for dramatic affect. "Whatever" I say crossing my arms across my chest. "So when do you start?" he asks, suddenly curious about the topic. "Matthew sent me a text with the address I'm supposed to go to for my first etiquette lesson so I guess I'll be headed there after class.Â
"And Matthew is...?" he questions, "My dad's assistant, I've told you this like five times already" I say rolling my eyes at him. "I'm sorry okay, there have been a lot of changes in your life and brand new characters added to the cast so it's hard to keep it all straight" he explains. "Name one other person besides Matthew that I've told you about" I say with a raised brow, curious as to who these 'new characters' might be. "Your step dad" he says proudly, not elaborating further.Â
"Anyone else?" I ask, rolling my eyes at the cop out answer he gave me and he decides to sit in silence after putting little to no thought into anyone else I might've told him about. "Do you even know his name?" I scoff, feigning irritation. "Scott? No Thomas!" he says confident in his second answer. "It's James" I say standing up and grabbing my stuff so I can walk towards my next class.Â
"I'm sorry, you know I have shit memory" he says throwing his arm around my shoulder after catching up to me, having only been a few steps behind. "I know" I shake my head laughing it off, "It's funny how clueless you are sometimes" I say, shrugging his arm off of me. "Hey!" he whines, semi offended. "It's okay though, I still love you" I say waving him off as we part in different directions and blowing a kiss at him which he bats off to the side, rejecting my love. "Later loser" he says and we head off to our respective classes.
After the lecture is finally over my professor calls me to the front. "Yes?" I question, waiting for what he has to tell me. "I read your paper last night" he starts, "I'm sorry Professor I had some other assignments due at the same time so I wasn't able to put in as much effort as I wanted to" I confess feeling guilty about putting that assignment on the back burner. "Well I was actually going to tell you that I was rather impressed with it" he says looking up at me from his seated position at his desk, fixing his glasses.Â
"Really?" I question, surprised that it was good enough for him to even single out. "I wanted to ask if you would be interested in participating in this writing contest at the end of next month" he proposes and hands me the flyer showing all of the details. "You really think my writing is good enough?" I question, not even having considered signing up for something like this. "I wouldn't be speaking to you about it if I didn't think it was" he says laughing at my reactions.Â
"This would be amazing thank you!" I say starting to skim through the details real quick. "You can take that with you if you'd like" he offers and at that I nod in thanks and say my goodbyes before walking out and heading out towards my car.Â
"Now where exactly is this place?" I ask myself aloud, pulling up the text I got and putting the address into my gps. "45 minutes?" I say in astonishment, now slightly panicked seeing that even if I leave now I'll still be 10 minutes late. "What the hell Matthew?" I curse and put my seatbelt on, speeding out of the parking lot and down the street, praying that I'll be able to somehow shave a few minutes off the eta to make it in time.
"Punctuality is one of the most important aspects of proper etiquette" I hear the man say to me with his back turned as I walk into the area of his home he has dedicated to these lessons. "I'm very sorry I did not realize how far these lessons would be in relation to my University" I apologize hating that I've already made a bad impression which has clearly started us off on the wrong foot.Â
"Proper planning is also something you must consider to be able to maintain a certain sense of decorum before arriving to your intended destination" he says still with his back to me. "I apologize again Mr. Jeon it won't happen again" I say using what I hope is the proper way he would like to be addressed. "See that it doesn't" he says finally turning around to face me. I nod my head in acknowledgement and he gives me a sour look showing he's displeased with my response.Â
"One must verbally respond to properly communicate with one another" he says, placing his hands behind his back and interlocking his fingers while walking towards me and stalking around me like a predator sizing up his prey. "Understood" I respond and once he finally comes back around facing me he looks me up and down one last time before uttering another word.Â
"For your next lesson be sure to come in a dress or skirt that sits at the knee as well as stockings and heels of some sort and a blouse of course to pair with the skirt. If one wants to act like a lady, one must dress like a lady" he says and turns away to grab something in the corner of the room. "Noted" I say under my breath already exasperated, "What was that?" he questions looking over his shoulder at me, sorting through a few books to bring over. "Understood Mr. Jeon" I say, trying to play along and follow his rules.
"Seeing as we need to start from the very beginnings of the art of etiquette I need you to read these books by this time next week" he says handing me five very large books weighing my arms down and requiring me to stumble back to regain my balance. "All of them in a week? That's almost a book a day!" I say surprised by the workload I've been given after not even starting the actual lesson yet.
"I was not aware of the fact I would be required to teach you everything from the very start so let's just say we both have a lot of work to do" he says and motions towards a place I can set my purse down along with my five new headaches for this next week.
"Take a seat here please" he now motions to a chair that he has placed in the middle of the room waiting for me to do as he says. I walk up cautiously and take a seat, sitting on it like I normally would, knowing that he's meant to critique how I sit to change it. "Sit up straight, roll your shoulders back" he says taking in my posture at all angles while I follow along with his orders. "Loosen the tension in your back and shoulders" he says placing his hands on my shoulders from behind making me tense up even more from the unexpected contact.Â
"You've done the opposite of what I've asked you to" he says and I can hear how fed up with me he continues to be. "You startled me, I didn't realize you were going to do that" I say under my breath but loud enough for him to hear. "One must never mumble or talk back to anyone no matter the circumstances. Especially aimed to or in front of an authority figure" he says and walks back around to face me again. "So you see yourself as an authority figure to me?" I question, curious to see what his answer might be.
"I see myself as someone who deserves your respect and obedience" he says and tilts my chin up with his pointer finger maintaining purposeful eye contact. "And you will treat me as such".Â

never say never.
matt sturniolo x fem reader.
warnings: smut. angst idk????
an: not proof read. more parts coming soon đđđ
"matt have you seen my car keys" she hollered at him as she scurried around the kitchen.
"where are you going?" he asked as he peaked his head aoundd the door.
"i have to go home" she tilted her head and watched as he walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist, resting his hands on the small of her back, pulling her close.
"you dont have to go home, just move in with me" he brought his face closer to hers as her hands fiddled with the buttons on his dress shirt that was now creased and exposing his chest.
"i cant matt you know this, i need my studio" she told him.
"ill build you a studio here, hell id build you a whole art gallery if it meant i got to live with you doll" he moved his face to her cheek and planted a soft kiss there.
just as she was bending down to press a display sticker to one of the signs, she felt a hard slap to her ass, spinning around she was met with violet smirking, leaned back against nathan. the two of them looked picturesque together. she wore a shimmery champagne dress while he wore a black suit.
"you look great rue" violet gushed.
"thanks vee" she wore a white dress tonight. it was a little more showy than she wouldve liked, low cut and short, but she had bought it last minute and didnt have time to change her mind. violet loved it, of course, she lived for dressing sexy.
"you did all this rory?" nate asked. gesturing to the room around them as he spoke. the place was heaving, every single piece of art in there was either already sold, or bring inquired for, thr room was decorated 'diligently' as her boss byron described. never once had that man complimented her so she was taking whatever she could get.
"yeah, worked my little ass of and byron wont let me display one piece of my art in here" she huffed out a breath rolling her eyes.
"Douch bag knows yours would sell for more than hes ever made" violet uttered.
she didnt even get the chance to reply before one of the artists was tapping on her shoulder making her spin around. "someone would like to make an offer on one of my pieces downstairs."
"oh yes of course" she turned back around. "drink, mingle, have fun. ill find you guys in a bit"
after an hour of running up and down the stairs, about half the pieces were sold and the place was completely packed. the smell of liquor wafted through the air, mixing with the loud conversations.
"hey rory" voilet called from across the crowd. she gently made her way through the sea of people muttering soft 'excuse me's to everyone. when she finally made it to violet she had a wicked smile on her face that made her suspiciously squint her eyes.
"what?" she asked apprehensively.
"nate has a friend here that he wants you to meet. voilets words were saturated with intent, but rory couldnt place it. she tugged on her arm, walking them across the room.
she could see the back of nate, standing and talking to someone. as he turned to face them she saw who she was talking to.
the man was taller than nathan, and more built. his stare was intense. shockingly blue eyes and a strong stubbled jaw. he had dark hair that fanned out around his head perfectly. he wore a flawlessly tailored suit, designer by the looks of it. she could see tattoos peaking out from under his sleeves onto his hands, gripping a hilariously small looking glass.
"sorry to pull you away from your fun, but this is my childhood best friend, matthew sturniolo" nate reached over, patting his friend on the back. "matt this is aroura jovans" he introduced her by her full name, keeping it formal for the time being.
matt stared cooly down at her, extending his hand. "nice to meet you aroura"
despite hating the sound of her full name, hearing it on matts tongue made her swoon. she had never seen a man so handsome in her entire life.
finding her head, rory reached out, placing her hand over his, the size difference was stark and it made his cock jump. "nice to meet you too Matthew" she replied looking up at him. "you can call me rory"
he had picked up on the colour of her cheeks when they touched. this bookish little sweetheart was the last thing he expected to find when nate invited him here. to say he was intrigued was an understatement.
now.
he continued his trail of kissed down her neck. her hands came up to tug on his hair, earning a hum from matt.
"stay here with me" he muttered as he sucked dark circles into her skin. she sighed and leaned her head back, giving him better access. she wanted to give in so bad, she wanted to let him have his way with her right now.
"i cant matt, i have things to do" her chest was rising and falling at a rapid pace as she desperately tried to keep it together, but matts groping hands and his mouth were proving to be a real challenge.
"let me take care of you baby" and before she could even protest. he had hiked her up onto the kitchen counter and shoved his hand into her panties, his lip between his teeth, eyes watching her face intensely. his fingers traced up her folds making him let out a low groan as he left light circles on her clit, pulling a shaky whine from rorys mouth.
"look at that honey, youre soaked" she couldnt help but whine at his words. his fingers quickened and his touch became firmer, prompting her head to lull back as she gripped one hand on his shoulder and the other smacked down onto the counter behind her. her hips started rocking in rhythm with his hand. he knew just how to work her.
"it would be so mean of me to leave you like this doll" his voice was patronizing and cocky. matt once again brought his mouth to her neck and licked a stripe up her throat, pulling a lewd moan from her.
"dont stop matt ngh- pl-" and before she could even finish her sentence, he cut her off by yanking his hand away from her and plopping his fingers into his mouth.
she stared at him wide eyed, mouth hanging open and the feeling of her approaching high fizzling out.
matt gripped her hips and pulled her off the counter, standing her back on her own, now shaky legs before reaching into his back pocket and pulling out her keys. he placed them in her hand before pressing a firm kiss to her lips.
"have a great day baby ill see you for dinner" and with that he was off, sauntering back off into his office.
matt returning to a normal life once he met aroura never seemed like anything out of the ordinary, business was well, he was going to dinner parties, he had fake manners, all prepared for a complete disregard for his past life. he wondered if the straw would ever come and he would return to his late affairs, then again he wondered if that straw had already been pulled. he knew he couldnt hide from himself much longer. his biggest enemy was the man he saw in the mirror. he was filtered with anger and disgust for himself. each day, in and out, he knew what rory didnt. surely the truth would come out, it was just a matter of when. every time his phone rang and her face came up he was sure this was it, thinking of some excuse or lie he could tell before answering and of course each time he was wrong, after a few months of him fighting with himself he gave up. realising there was no way she would ever find out. but never say never.

Double trouble.
Note: I DIDNT COME UP WITH THIS- IT WAS REQUESTED PLEASE DONT GET MAD AT ME.. đ lol literally thought of team rocket after naming this part âDouble trouble.â
PART TWO COMING SOON DONT HATE MEâ
characters: Lottie Matthews x Travis Martinez x fem!reader.
summary: threesome with lottie and Travis while everyone fell asleep in the cabin :3
warning: swearing? , smut MDI.. MINORS GET OUTâ
âjust like that baby, your nearly there.â Lottie huffs, gently thrusting two fingers inside your clit. All you could do was nod stupidly, feeling the urge to cum then and there. âfuuckk Iâm going- Iâm gonna cum..â she whines, throwing her head back against the headboard of the bed. Before everything around her started to blur.. everything feeling fizzy.. fake even.
..and just like that, Y/N woke up.
Itâs not like her to have a dream.. especially like that.
it was all just a dream, she looked under the blankets, realising there was a wet spot from under her panties. She quickly covers it and changes, getting ready for the chores to survive the wilderness, like always.
Lottie has been during the same wilderness retreat, meanwhile talking to Travis more often. Natalie has been ignoring the two of them, helping out with other stuff before her and Travis going off to try find more food, itâs been unsuccessful.
Y/N walks outside in the snow, the snow storm was lifted for the meantime. She walks to the lake, grabbing any loose sticks from the fire to try last them a night or two.
Maybe an hour passes and she manages to get going back to the cabin carrying wood in her arms enough to last around three days. Until she hears it.. it heard like someone, a loud moan coming from the direction of the plane.. Y/N climbs up the steep parts of the snow, her eyes meeting the parts of the plane. The noises get louder.
Y/N peeps her head through the plane door before quickly looking away, her cheeks flush red..
Travis was being seen fucking the shit out of Lottie fucking Matthews.
Lottie had half her clothes back on, or at least the top of it. Her hands were held behind her back while Travis was thrusting fast into her.
The noises were ungodly.. like nothing sheâs never heard before, it was only making her wet herself. Y/N quickly grabbed her backpack, putting the sticks in them before going to run back to the cabin.. until suddenly, someone grabs her by the back of the shirt, pulling her into the plane.
Y/N falls back before being greeted by a pissed off Travis and Lottie, both annoyed but still curious on why Y/N was there.
until, travis spoke. âExplain yourself.. fucking pervert.â He scowls at you, his pants were now zipped up but you could tell that he was rock hard.
Lottie finally spoke. âTravis, give her room to speak. Iâm sure she has a good explanation of watching us..â the tall brown haired girl spoke soft. Travis managed to calm down, he nods.
Lottie looks at her with soft eyes, she wasnât fully dressed. Your eyes meeting her dripping cunt before quickly snapping your gaze away from it.. cheeks still flushed. They both probably knew you were just as wet.
âI just- I was.. I didnât know- .. Iâm sorry.â Y/N mumbles, turning her head away from the two as she sits up.
âLook- I will go back to the cabin. And Iâll pretend this never happened.. okay?-â
Lottie leans forward. Her eyes furrowed at you, travis wouldnât stop glaring at you, all he saw was a perv watching them fuck.
Travis and Lottie look at each other, before nodding.
âThere could be.. another way.â Travis speaks, the tone of his voice was hard. (Like his dic lol- )
Y/N looks up at them confused for a moment, before realising the hint. Her eyes widening.
âY-you donât mean..?-â
âOh, but we do mean.. the wilderness needs to be pleased, and like people say.. the more the merrier.â Lottie interrupts Y/N talking.
it was true some people said that.. but not in that way- Y/N looks up at them nervous, before swallowing up her dignity and agreeing for what they have planned.
âfine.. for the wilderness.â she mumbles, standing up and then walking with them back into the spot Y/N caught Lottie and Travis fucking.
this was going to be one hell of a fucking ride..
