Jonah Clemence (VA: Hanae Natsuki): Yes, early on. I think he stopped after he married. Listened to two of his CDs, his voice is too soft for my tastes. He does good moaning and whining.

Edgar Bright (VA: Yashiro Taku): see Imagawa Yoshimoto

Zero (VA: Kumagai Kentarou): MY LOVE, MY CURRENT OBSESSION. He does desperate, drugged out, and angry-at-life so well. His moans and kisses are 💯 I prefer his boyishly youthful voice than his deeper one. When he hits that high-pitched whine *chef's kiss* He comes so prettily *dreamy sigh*

Kyle Ash (VA: Furukawa Makoto): What a man, what a voice. Personally I liked his earlier works because there were more variety in the plots and characters, but I think he works best with plotty CDs and/or emotional drama. Rouge et Noir comes to mind; REUNION for the drama. I enjoy the CDs where his voice is cooler, not too high-pitched, not too deep. He sighs when he kisses, and it sounds divine.

Ray Blackwell (VA: Shimono Hiro): He did a few early in the r18 drama cd years. I remember the one where he was a yandere butler. It was also a mobile game, but I didn't know which came first (I think the game). There was also that teacher x student cd. He also did Wasurenagusa as Todo Heisuke iirc.

Sirius Oswald (VA: Suwabe Junichi): None. This man was born with a velvet voice bUT FOR WHAT

Luka Clemence (VA: Enoki Junya): He has a recognizable voice (makes me think of aluminium idkw). He did an angsty incest one and a servant to a lady one. They're okay. His orgasms need more work, though.

Fenrir Godspeed (VA: Kakihara Tetsuya): Semi-active. My fave is the one where he's childhood friends with the MC and has a badboy/playboy rep but he's actually a virgin I think, or at least acts like a blushing maiden when he did it with the MC (who takes control of the sex). The Shinsengumi & Mimawarigumi are on thin ice cause they get made fun off enough/their force literally got dissolved 

Anyway Gintoki & Hijikata liked each other while they were teacher/student but their emotionally constipated asses only found the courage to confess after graduation/before Toshi was literally about to leave on the train for school

They stayed in touch & Toshi was like if our feelings haven’t changed by the time I become a cop do you want to try this for real?

Obviously their feelings remain the same and they entered a happy if not extremely dysfunctional relationship

Ginpachi’s gasping and crying as he’s crushed under Hijikata’s weight and dick, trying and failing to crawl away as Hijikata fucks him into the ground

Hijikata rolls them over to the side to give Ginpachi a second to breathe, lifting the poor teacher’s leg up in his arm and fucks him slowly and sensually for the last time

He then rolls Ginpachi onto his back, and sees him all messed up, wearing nothing but his lab caot which has fanned on the ground beneath him, thighs spread, legs trembling & cum leaking out while Ginpachi-sensei is whimpering 

H: I’ll miss you so much Ginpachi-sensei…

Ginpachi-sensei gets irritated and yells about him going overboard with his stupid youthfulness and how he should think more about elders who still have to work the next day

Then Ginpachi-sensei softens & sits up groaning (Hiji has to fight hard not to jump him again especially cause Ginpachi-sensei gives him warning look)

G: “Five years will pass in a flash Toushiro, even if it doesn’t feel like that at first I promise it will”

Then Ginpachi pulls him in close for a hug. “I will miss you. I’ll be the one who waits this time. I love you.”

Hijikate tears up as he hugs Ginpachi-sensei back. 

H: How is it you still make me feel like such a kid? I swear I’ll come back as a man you can be proud of.

The Roleplay ends as Hijikata whispers that he hopes he’s lived up to that promise.

Ginpachi rolls his eyes and kisses him back hard

G: You never needed to prove yourself. I’ve loved you back then and with every person you’ll become

Then Hijikata has to carry Ginpachi home and gives a lot of aftercare while Ginpachi teases him a little more aggressively than usual

Because even though it’s still Saturday he’s exhausted from the sex and cleaning up and they both have work on Monday

Yooo this was really good! Thanks for taking the time to answer dude I appreciate it! I'm just going to add my thoughts on here too so we'll be rambling together lol.

Shouyo always frustrated me a bit as a character. We first see him through Gintoki's (and Takasugi's and a little bit Katsura's) eyes as someone who is more of an ideal than a person. It's implied that he's a skilled fighter, both in the flashback and through the quality of his student's swordsmanship, but to me it always felt like Gintoki, Takasugi, and Katsura chose to follow him for his (kinda pacifist) ideology. He takes in Gintoki when others call him a demon. He teaches about honor and bushido while the school Katsura and Takasugi originally attended cared more about weath and status. Basically, "only lifting your sword to protect things that are important to you/your soul" seems to be his MO.

Later, we find out about his alternate self Utsuro, who is (aside from being existential dread personified lmao) a total badass. The dude literally cannot be killed. That's an L for him BUT it also means that Shouyou technically could do all that immortal shit too. And he doesn't? Like his school is burning to the ground, lil Gintoki is pinned to the ground by the naraku soldiers, and he just surrenders? I get being a pacifist and trying to make big changes such as Less Murder In This Lifetime, but aren't his student's his soul? Aren't those his precious people? Isn't he watching the life he tried so hard to build burn before his eyes? He just lets it happen and I never understood it.

The whole situation gains another angle if you consider Oboro though. Idk if Oboro was there to arrest Shouyou it's been a while since my last rewatch, but regardless Shouyou probably knew Oboro was with the organization. Do you think they ever threatened Oboro to keep Shouyou compliant? Maybe he just wanted to see how Oboro was doing, maybe he missed his first student.

I mean, Oboro turned him in! Like you said there was a lot that went into that choice, but he clearly wanted Shouyou to be closer to him. Shouyou must have felt like the best way to protect Gintoki, Takasugi, Katsura, and Oboro from the naraku was to remain a prisoner, and so he chose to do nothing.

But that's the tragedy of gintama. Gintoki was forced to choose between his friends and his (dad) teacher, he tried to protect them both but he lost them instead. Shouyou tried to protect all of his students by remaining a prisoner, but did he really save any of them? Gintoki, Takasugi, and Katsura all joined the war effort to save him, they even start calling Gintoki a demon again which is exactly what shouyou was trying to stop when he asked Gintoki to follow him that first day they met. As for Oboro, he's been child soldier-ing in the naraku this whole time, and after Shouyou dies, he stays with the group for Utsuro's sake.

The only one who seems to get it right is Hijikata, and that's only because of Gintoki! Initially he was going to let Kondou sacrifice himself, no matter how much he hated it he still respected Kondou as his captain/the person who saved him. But Gintoki has learned this lesson the hard way, you can't save people by sacrificing people. When you let go of your loved ones, everyone loses. If all the choices are bad, you need to make your own options.

To me, Shouyou is a tragic character. He tries so hard to be better than his past. He builds a new life for himself, only to have pieces of that life torn away one by one. Finally, in his desperation to save the last pieces of his life that remain, his students, he falls into the trap of self sacrifice and loses them all. For all that it's a tragedy, it's also very human of him, so I guess he got what he wanted in the end.

Aaaaaah it's been at least a year since I've seen the show, and I'm only caught up to the Rakuyou arc (I'm a fake fan ik) but I've seen some spoilers so ik (in broad strokes) how it ends. Gintama was the show that really got me into anime so I have Many Thoughts lol. If my rambles don't line up that's probably why 😭 anyway Shouyou was really Going Though It the whole time he existed huh

Honestly I am both honored and very very nervous that you want to hear my thoughts about oboro cause I be making that shit up but I will attempt to explain my understanding of Oboro's relationship with Utsuro and Shoyou

So let's start off this explanation :))

also there may be spelling mistakes because I can't spell for shit and never look over my work so yeah,

Shoyou and Oboro:

So to start off Shoyou is the persona of Utsuro who wants to be like humans, so he saves oboro because he wanted to stop taking lives. He really went like “hey um, ik like my assassins just killed your village and set it on fire and almost killed you, but here’s some cursed blood. Since I can’t die i’ll give you some so you can hate me forever” but that didn’t work and Oboro decided to stay by shoyou’s side because he respects him and doesn’t fear him. Since Shoyou saved his life Oboro wants to be helpful to him in anyway possible, Oboro see’s the immortal blood given to him as like an debth, loyalty or oath oboro made to himself that he will give his life to help shoyou (and utsuro) in anyway possible.

So when oboro still stays in the naraku after shoyou told him to leave oboro doesn’t care. He tells shoyou that he respects him and sees him a teacher. Oboro is what gives Shoyou that little push and nudge that he can change and be better. We see that when Shoyou thinks he can’t be a teacher because of the blood on his hands and says he wants to be like the children who are sin free. Oboro doesn’t hesitate to tell him that it is possible to become better by telling him to open a school, and to make him his first student. So when shoyou finally leaves he naraku after he decides he wants to be better so he gives himself a new name. He waits for oboro, his first student who he claims is his. Oboro is Shoyou’s pride and joy, and Shoyou is Oboro’s everything. Oboro knows that like Shoyou wants to change and realizes that if they want to escape the naraku, Oboro can sacrifice his life to stop their pursuers just so Shoyou can live a new life. So Oboro doesn’t hesitate to make that sacrifice. And when he finds out he is still alive, oboro continues to work in the shadow’s just to make sure Yoshida Shoyou stays in the light. But yeah Oboro thinks like he’s okay with not being by Shoyou’s side until he sees that Shoyou has other disciples who get to remain by his side while he is the one who is making it possible for them. So he feels jealous and turns Shoyou in and gets him arrested to take back his sensei from the others. 

Oboro swore loyalty to the man who saved him, but also wanted to stay by his side. Oboro already broke his promise to shoyou when he became an assassin so he feels not quite guilty but he feels something for betraying him.  

So when Shoyou is executed and Utsuro comes back Oboro once again pledges loyalty to the immortal not caring if it is a different persona because to Oboro they are all the same. But this time the immortal’s goal is to finally end himself, so Oboro will help him do so no matter how much pain he is from his body rotting from the inside, because compared to Utsuro’s pain, his pain means nothing. But all in all I personally think Oboro was like more dedicated to Shoyou than Utsuro

Anywayy, both Shoyou and Utsuro stan Oboro. 

To Shoyou Oboro is his pride and joy and first student.

To Utsuro we can see that he trusts Oboro more than anyone else. Oboro knows all his secrets and Utsuro knows Oboro’s weaknesses but that does not interfere with their dynamic.

Somehow, I knew I had it coming 😂But, as always, I'm going to be serious about it and I'll give it some proper thinking!

Let me start by saying that Takasugi doesn't just go shopping whenever he pleases. For starters, he is a terrorist and a wanted man, he can't just walk in Edo Mart and be like yo, what aisle for brussels sprouts? And even if he wasn't can you imagine Takasugi just strolling through the supermarket, comparing prices and reading the additives of each product? 😂 Not gonna lie, I pity the employees, he'd just give them THE STARE. What do you mean you have no yakult? 👀 Don't get me wrong, he'd be a very respectful customer, wouldn't cause any trouble. Unless he ran into Gintoki, then he might as well bury his face in the first shelf he finds. But anyways, anyways, let's not get off topic here!

Takasugi would rarely shop by himself and most of the time, Matako or someone else would personally handle his shopping list. But on the rare occasion he goes shopping, then this is what I would imagine his list to be!

considering how he likes yakult so much, I can see him getting behind yoghurt honestly. Even having a bit of a childish eating habit and picking those flavored small yoghurts that are meant for kids. I don't think he'd openly admit to it that's why it's something he'd purchase when going shopping on his own.

String Cheese

another childish habit I can see him having. string cheese is something he can eat on the run and basically, many of the foods I'm going to include are ones you can eat on the go. basically snacks that don't need to be prepared and can be consumed as they are.

Tofu

even if he might indulge himself in certain western delicacies, at his core, Takasugi is a traditional man. rather than actual cheese, he'd opt for tofu.

Eggs

eggs are just... eggs, you know? so many dishes include them, so yeah.

Tea leaves

but you know, not the cheap Lipton ones. he has high standards after all! rather than coffee, I see him more as a tea kinda guy buuuut

Coffee Beans

he would like to have some coffee around and I feel like he'd be good at brewing it himself, just like his tea. i can see him and bansai sitting together while drinking either, honestly.

Water

he is a human, humans drink water, what can I say? plus, i doubt he can find high quality water lying in space.

Fruits and Vegetables

now this is the harder for me to think, because i can't really tell what kind of fruits or veggies he'd prefer. i feel like he is into healthy food, considering how yakult is basically probiotics and if he could afford to have a proper meal, he'd go for it. i can see him being into berries (NOT STRAWBERRIES BECAUSE GIN which actually arent berries at all but eh), grapes, lychees, persimmons, dates, plums or perhaps the occasional apple too. i'm afraid i can't offer an exact explanation as to why i chose these specific ones but eh, it be like this sometimes. about veggies now, lotus roots, edamame, yams, cabbage, daikon, seaweed (not really a veggie but dk what to consider it here ;-;), mushrooms and beets. i wanna say eggplants too because they are purple and well... heh.

i guess something these things have in common are that they can be either eaten individually, or are widely used in japanese cuisine.

Nuts

YEAH YEAH, I CAN HEAR THE SNICKERS FROM HERE ABOUT THIS ONE. still, nuts are a great source of NUTrients. also for some reason, i can see Takasugi liking something that requires a bit of work? now this will sound weird af but i can totally imagine him spitting the shells (or seeds since i mentioned fruits) at gintoki or people who annoy him (throwback sakamoto spit translate scene). i dont know, maybe it's because he smokes, maybe it's because he uses his fingers a lot WHEN PLAYING THE SHAMISEN, DON'T GET ME WRONG, i can see him liking foods that need some work. that's what i meant. yeah? yeah.

Sweets?

i don't see him as a sweet kinda guy, not gonna lie. but, perhaps he would indulge in an occasional chocolate candy bar. perhaps a darker chocolate? if he got a craving, i'd still think he'd opt for more traditional stuff so, perhaps dorayaki or mochi would catch his eye, if the store had some premade ones.

Miso paste

absolute MUST for breakfast.

Rice

Gum?

this one is debatable. he is a smoker, he has shitty breath, gum is easy to pop in for some freshness i guess. if he needed to have a clean breath, this is the lazy way to do it.

Soy sauce

the answer to the eternal debate of ketchup vs mayo would be soy sauce for him. this is the way of the ancestors, somehow.

Noodles

another no brainer. if you ask me, he is more of a soba kinda guy though.

Meat/Fish

usually he doesn't buy such things himself. he isn't the one to cook his own meals so... plus, meat and fish take a long of time to prepare. i think of him more as a fish kinda guy, not sure why though. if he can get his hands on some fresh fish, he'll go for it.

OH AND, not exactly fish but, Mentaiko!

Onigiri

Takasugi is a bit of a sentimental fool, no denying here. onigiri is a food linked to his childhood and to Katsura. he would eat such things behind everyone's back and if anyone noticed and asked him if he wanted some, he'd deny it, claiming that he hated the taste of him. still, i feel like it's a food he'd buy without second thought, if he happened to find it in the store.

Jelly Beans

another troll-y food choice. they are tasty and can be eaten on the go. i can see him being very picky about the order he eats them in, going as far as to not eat a certain type of flavor at all!

Alcohol

man needs to drown his pain somehow. Sake, Umeshu, Nigori, Shochu, i can see him drinking each of them. usually with Bansai, he is his certified drinking buddy. sometimes Matako and Takechi join too but they get wasted! Matako gets all flustered, attaching herself to him "Shinsuke sam~AaaaaaAAAa", she is just a mess. Takechi's lolicon comments intensify and he might honestly try to annoy Matako who just gets defensive and cries harder while wiping her nose on Takasugi's sleeve... yeah....no, it's better if he just drinks with Bansai on second thought.

Hygiene Products

i feel like Takasugi is very hygienic when he can afford to be. he is someone who obviously puts thought in his appearance and so i can see shampoo and shower gels being up high in his list. funnily enough, i can see him as someone who could potentially get behind bath bombs! they are relaxing, have a certain aesthetic and hey, BUBBLES! but mainly, i feel like he is a soap bar kinda type. he prefers clean scents without bells and whistles. perhaps something that has a bit of a flowery scent? basically relaxing stuff. definitely an ylang ylang or sandalwood kinda guy (damn i'm reading too much into it). also toothbrush, toothpaste, the usual stuff. floss too. gotta wash the tobacco away.

oh and of course, he is clueless about detergents. he doesn't handle that at all, Matako takes care of his laundry somehow. he frowned upon her about it in the start, but she's managed to find a smell he likes so they are good.

Tobacco

wasn't sure if i should add that because not all regular stores have that but yeah, he needs it for his kiseru!

MAN, I spent so much time thinking about this. Not in a million years would I ever think that I'd be writing Takasugi Shinsuke's personal shopping list. But there is always a first, I guess! These are just my opinions/headcanons/guts, call them whatever you want, really. Some of these have a base I guess while others are just hunches.

Hope this wasn't too out of character, hey, I DID MY BEST! I loved this ask though, it was so particular and different from what I usually do or think about.

Hello!! I discovered Pieces (late to the party lol) about a month ago and CAN I JUST SAY ITS BEYOND AMAZING!! It’s the best okikagu fanfic I’ve read. I was looking at your ideas for the last chapter and saw that one of the discarded ones was Kagura getting pregnant and them getting into a fight. This may sound a bit weird lmao but I was wondering what kind of details would that have had (what would the fight had been about, how they make up, etc.)? I’m just really curious as to what you specifically had in mind or what would have happened in that prompt because the story seemed like it was going that direction, and I just love the idea of them building their own family in the end especially all they’ve went through

Well hello there!! First of all, thanks a lot for your words, it makes me extremely happy knowing there are people out there still discovering AND enjoying my fics even after all this time T^T Pieces holds a special place in my heart for what it meant to me, too, so thanks again to the moon and back<3<3 and no worries, I also like going to ask my fave writers about details of their fics so, no worries there hehe

Now, onto the actual content and Kagura getting pregnant I had two possible scenarios in mind. The first one was them having children in the near future, but after they had gotten together and properly worked through a healthy relationship, with communication, sincerity and actual plans of having children.

Option number two was, as stated in the fic, Kagura unexpectedly getting pregnant right before the movie events but then getting into a fight with Sougo (that would explain why future Okikagu don't interact at all :’) The fight would have been about nothing in particular but more about “little” things that had been accumulating until they both just exploded (their unstable “relationship”, their clashing personalities, the problems they were facing both with the Shinsengumi and the Yorozuya, ghosts from the past they hadn’t moved on from yet, the issue with Kamui, pressure and frustration with the lack of communication and the secrets, ... and then cherry on top, Kagura getting pregnant and the fear and insecurities that came with it and Sougo being the dad, since they're not even supposed to like each other). Because of this, Kagura decided to hide the secret from him and then they had the big fight that culminated everything going on and then they're fucked AND alone ha. So basically Kagura spent the first months of pregnancy hiding it from everyone until it became so obvious she couldn’t run away from it anymore. These first months were awful because she's alone (out of her own choice), she's scared because she barely knew how to take care of herself, imagine a baby, and she had to add this “problem” to everything stated before so yeah, she had a really hard time coping with everything. On top of everything, I also like the headcanon that she was coping with depression from everything previous to the movie events (which I think fits her mood and behaviours quite well during the onscreen time before Gintoki reappears) so basically she's miserable.

I’m a bit confused myself about some aspects of the ending, because I'm not sure whether to have Gintoki remain gone or to have him return (in the movie they do find the Gintoki from this timeline, but I can't remember right now if it's implied that he returns with Kagura and Shinpachi or not). Having him return would make things easier for Kagura, since her main problem would be solved (let's remember she's in the state she is because Gintoki disappeared, the Yorozuya fell apart and she was left alone). So having him back would help her along a lot. If Gintoki didn't come back, Shinpachi and the rest would have had a lot more work to do, but at least she would have known what had happened to Gin and be at peace with that.

Regardless of this, the fact remains that Sougo didn't know a thing. The time he spends alone he's lonely and sad as well, but he occupied himself with finding a job (no ideas here what he could be?) and after the movie events he had Kondou back so! that cheered him up as well. He missed Kagura terribly but he didn’t want to bother her, he's proud and, most of all, they had NOTHING to start with, so he doesn’t even know what he would say to her (hey, I'm in love with you and I have no idea what the future has in store for me but I want to be with you, no matter what) so yeah, he’s prone to thinking she hated his guts. Kagura felt the same in this sense, thought exactly like him plus she had a baby incoming! And her worst fear was being rejected, so imagine now with a child in the picture. Absolutely out of the question to tell him.

Eventually, though, things started to fall back into place because they couldn't keep their hands off each other for a reason, so they did miss each other terribly and this made them reconsider things a lot, a lot of times. They also lived in the same place so Sougo was bound to see Kagura pregnant at some point or hear about it from someone, so as soon as he knew he basically stormed her place (whenever she was at the moment) and then they had no choice but to talk about it. At this point, Kagura had had some time to recover and prepare herself for motherhood (because Sougo or not, she decided she was gonna have her child) and Sougo hadn't thought anything through but knowing she's pregnant kicks his butt and he realised (he already knew but now it's unmovable) that he had to be with her. So, after confirming that he's the father (Kagura was reluctant about telling him before but she is sure now that he at least deserves the truth and she wants him to know that if she’s pregnant, he was the only option) they needed To Talk aka fix all the issues stated above and related to them. Once that was out of the way and they knew how they feel it’s a bit awkward at first because they’re not used to it BUT they made it work and live a happy life together with their kids, working through everything together. I say a happy life because while things are rough in the movie I believe things do get better, eventually, and everyone gets used to the new future.

LOL it’s been a long time since i have written a really long complaint.

It’s always the same thing. The love incense arc was published over 3 years ago, and yet there are still ppl who got so worked up over it that they continue to try so hard to discredit the entire arc and tsukuyo’s feelings for gintoki. I recently saw a post shown to me (not a terribly new post, however), where these antis go to extreme lengths by making the absurd claim that sorachi hates tsukuyo, that he has realised how wrong he was to have written parts of her characterisation and her feelings for gintoki, and that while he realised it just a bit late, he was aware of it and just simply had to fix it! LMAO

These are the ppl who love to say, “TSUKUYO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND GINTOKI!!” but they do not hesistate to use tsukuyo’s line to describe him, “GINTOKI DOES NOT BELONG TO ANYONE!” And they use it repeatedly. “TSUKUYO SAID IT HERSELF!” 

Right. ok. First u said she doesnt understand him, then u imply she does understand him by borrowing her line. So which is it? Does she understand gintoki, or doesnt she? You cant have it both ways whenever the situation suits you. 

I’m frankly all-fcked surprised how popular the love incense arc is in fandom conversations. Everyone, everyone and the tapeworms inside their bloody intestines has earnestly flown into fits of panic to interpret it. What’s so difficult to understand about this arc? Why cant ppl just take it with a grain of salt, and also just allow the gintsuku fans to celebrate it as they wish? 

This arc was first and foremost about tsukuyo coming to terms with her feelings for gintoki, feelings that she has repeatedly denied having, for the journey of this manga. This was an arc where she taught hotaru that love itself is not stupid, nor useless, regardless of the pain endured or happiness fulfilled. 

But these people??? They go, “She realised that her love is unrequited and useless! She realised that gintoki will not belong to anyone! I’m glad she got over her crush, blah. I don’t hate Tsukuyo at all! I think she was so GREAT in yoshiwara in flames!!! But she was so terrible in Red Spider!! And all the focus on her romantic feelings are just bad for her!” 

Apparently she was terrible in the arc bc she fell in love. Not just in love, silly. She fell in love with GINTOKI. The main boy. He’s the fantasy of some 50 thousand girls who ship both BL and NL. Give me a damn pita to roll my insides with. Because love itself is such a common thing to go through for all of them, but tsukuyo isn’t allowed to experience it! 

This is exactly the misogyny ppl are displaying by mocking tsukuyo’s feelings for, bc she fell in love with a man. Antis immediately cast female characters like tsukuyo as weak, boring and inferior bc how dare tsukuyo expresses moments of vulnerability while having feelings for a man. How dare she doubts herself, when it comes to feelings she has never experienced before. How dare she learns from it and makes a choice! She shouldnt have fallen in love with gintoki. It’s just bad for her character! She ~shouldnt~ consider herself no longer a woman anyway! She shouldnt this, she shouldnt that. Fck off.

Characters aren’t weak for having feelings. It’s how they handle their feelings in the long term that decide whether they’re strong or weak. How is tsukuyo weak anyway? She doesnt fawn over him, she doesnt throw herself at him, she doesnt whine when he shows his concern for ppl other than her. She doesnt let him have a free pass whenever he does awful things. She repeatedly reminded him to stop looking down on women, she doesnt take orders from him even when she loves him. How the fck is she weak? 

“I don’t hate Tsukuyo!!!!” but then come Chapter 620, they went, “What independent woman? What strong woman? This is why i cant relate with Tsukuyo at all.” LMAO.

Ok? u said u dont relate with tsukuyo. Fine, u don’t relate. So what? Just bc u dont relate with her, doesnt mean other ppl dont. What has your being unable to relate to her got to do with the strength of her character? 

I really wonder how many ppl relate with sacchan’s stalking. Most recent examples are when the shogun assassination arc ended, and when they had a drunk party in gintoki’s room, the same ppl who said they dont relate with tsukuyo went on a rah-rah session screaming, “SACCHAN YOU ARE AWESOME AND PLS DONT CHANGE! CONTINUE TO DO WHAT U DO!” So u relate with her? You relate with what sacchan did to gintoki and still does to gintoki?? Her repeated attempts at sexual assault? Wow, her acts are so funny to you! But if it were tsukuyo, u can’t have it. That implied situation narrated by zenzou in the scandal arc didnt even happen, but u all rushed to call her a rapist. You not only called her a rapist, u /ensured/ that her fans saw that u called her a rapist. You ensured that this opinion of yours made its way into the tags of picture posts, in tumblr tags, on general threads, on twitter! Tell me why should her fans even endure this kind of shit in silence?

Yes, tsukuyo loves gintoki. She wants to do something for him. For her, it is ok to die for him. This is her choice. Alas, this was tsukuyo, and bc it is tsukuyo, antis called her dependent, selfish and weak, that she didn’t treasure her life for wanting to die. They bitched and moaned that she was so terrible, bc she gave up hinowa for gintoki. LOL. She has never given hinowa up, what the fck? She has chosen hinowa all her life. For once she chose gintoki and she is attacked for being selfish. By the way - tsukuyo chose to stay in yoshiwara. She reiterated that she is its guardian and it’s her job to protect it. It was hinowa who pushed her to go to gintoki bc she did not want tsukuyo to have any regrets.

Let’s be real. Gintoki town was in direct engagement of combat. It was natural for tsukuyo be anxious for him. Why was it wrong for her to go to him? How is that ‘unindependent’, what the fck? Upon her arrival, she single-handedly saved him from ougai’s attack. But not one person praised her for saving gintoki. They were all enraged that she went to aid him in battle. They didnt want them to meet, they didnt want them to be near each other. But instead of outright admitting their pettiness, they put on an elaborate act and called her selfish. Their reason? For leaving hinowa behind. Hahahaha

Come on. Tsukuyo is a qualified warrior. She is acknowledged as the strongest warrior in yoshiwara, who leads a force of trained combatants. Any military personnel would want her on their team. But no, u didnt want her near gintoki. You pretended as if u were so fcking enraged on hinowa’s behalf, when in fact, in all 12 months out of a year, u didnt bother to give a shit about hinowa.

Every fcking character in every fcking story ever told, every person in real life, would always want to run first thing to the person they care about, the person they love, when in trouble. Hijikata wants to die by kondou’s side. The joui boys, in their own words, look out for each other’s backs. It would suck “if i die next to idiots like you.” But we all know that’s exactly what they were willing to do. Bansai was willing to sacrifice himself for takasugi to help him leave his past behind, and he did just that. But when tsukuyo said she wanted to die next to gintoki, ten million anti-tsukuyo chickens flapped their wings and rushed themselves to the slaughterhouse. Tsukuyo isn’t allowed to do that. 

What is it about her feelings that you hate? What is it about female characters with feelings that you hate? 

Tsukuyo spent her life saving and training discarded women, gave up her own vanity to commit herself to a life of military is immediately tagged as ‘weak’. All because she fell for someone who gave her a fresh perspective of life. This reminds me of the ppl who said that, “Kouka is trash, she is weak, is garbage, she is a product of sorachi’s misogyny because she decided she wanted a family of her own and to sacrifice herself to raise them” -- the fck. Lol. So a woman is prohibited from wanting any of these things for herself in order to be seen as strong? 

You ppl can’t even go a day without looking at your phone and spewing shit on facebook or twitter or tumblr for a chance of communication, validation and kinship, and yet u bash kouka, who has stayed alone forever on a barren planet. You bash her for wanting companionship and a family. What the fck. 

I keep seeing ppl who claim they are tired of talking about tsukuyo, but they dont stop talking about her. They continue to talk about her everyfckingwhere. They continue to answer asks about her. And all your fcking posts clog up in places where her fans can see them. A shitload of these ppl want ppl to deal with their trash opinions about tsukuyo, but they wouldnt deal with other ppl’s defense of her. Basically these ppl want to have the freedom of shitting on something others love, but they cant accept it when ppl hit back.

I also think it is funny when they find it so important to propagate the beliefs that tsukuyo is the most hated character. They continuously lie about how badly her volumes and aizenkou dvds sold, going as far as to accuse her of making jump and bandai namco lose money. Listen. If u’re gonna make claims like that, at least back them up with statistical proof. 

The fact is that tsukuyo has consistently been the 2nd most popular female character in all the popularity polls since her conception. Her numbers are fcking pathetic compared to gintoki or hijikata’s. Kagura’s numbers aren’t that high either. Whose fault is this? You ppl whine about why the girls arent ranked as high, but given the chance, the first person u would vote for is gintoki, hijikata, takasugi, okita. Ppl talk big on the open internets about caring for the girls, but they turn feverish when given the chance to vote for a character of their choice. 

These ppl would readily cite the poll where tsukuyo is voted the most hated female character in gintama. They would readily cite the poll where she is the female character ppl hate being paired with gintoki. Of course they stayed silent and ignored the official jump polls in which tsukuyo placed top 10. They stayed silent and ignored her when she placed third for the jump girls valentine poll. Of course it is imperative that these ppl would cite only the polls where “hate” is the main theme. I WONDER WHY. I also wonder why so many of these ppl who claim to love girls, love to cite polls of “most hated female character” and gloat about how tsukuyo is hated. They love discussing it in convos like these. But the “most hated male character” poll is almost unheard of. 

When gintoki or hijikata were voted into the sexiest male characters polls in charapedia, animage or whatever, it is accepted amicably with much approval. NO ONE SAYS, “Pfft, his fans are female fans who fetishize them.” 

But every damn time tsukuyo was voted the sexiest female character? "Pfft, her fans as MALE otakus who fetishize her.” Lol. The desperation is blasting like a furnace. 

First of all, u claim that the majority of tsukuyo’s fanbase are male fans. MALE FANS??? Most of the encounters i’ve had with tsukuyo fans are female. 99% japanese + chinese fanartists i know who draw tsukuyo and gintsuki arts are females. In fact, ALL of the tsukuyo and gintsuki fans i know, who were driven off tumblr, were females. Fans who are so traumatised by your bullying that they no longer want to return to tumblr. I definitely am not male. So where the fck does the assumption that “most of her fans are males” come from? 

Secondly, there are girls who find tsukuyo attractive. GIRLS are capable of finding tsukuyo’s character strong and admirable. Just bc YOU DONT, doesnt mean we are “MALES who fetishize her.” 

Third. I also dont like the tone used when talking about tsukuyo fans. “They are just fetishizing her.” Like i said above, as if girl readers dont fetishize pretty boys. Let’s be real honest here. Despite the bond hijikata has with kondou, despite how much he cares for kondou, despite kondou being the ONLY person hijikata has ever shed a tear for, despite hijikata saying he wanted to DIE BY KONDOU’S SIDE MULTIPLE TIMES THROUGHOUT THE MANGA, i dont see many ppl ship hiji with kondou. It’s probably bc kondou doesnt fit the cool, stand-offish, pretty boy type. Fujoshi babies don’t like that! They only like the clean-shaven, tsundere type (hijikata) that blows hot and cold! This is an example of how fujoshi babies fetishize hijikata. Not saying i am not a fujoshi baby, i totally used to ship ginhiji myself. Come on.

Back to the popularity thing. Fans love it when their beloved character is popular. Fans get excited bc they know they aren’t alone. They will feel that comforting sense of communion with the universe. Church organ plays and the choir sings. The sun shines through departing clouds. It is truly important for a character to be popular. Popular characters will have merchandise made. Popular characters will be favoured by fans, just like gintoki and hijikata are favoured. Things suck when a character u dont like is popular. Especially a female character in love with the main male. You probably fear that the creator will also favour this character to please the fans (not u). But u fail to understand that what a creator wants to do is out of the fans' control. 

For years, tsukuyo fans put up with the irrational hate, the insults, the mockery. Her fans couldnt even cosplay her in peace. I have seen girls who love tsukuyo and cosplayed her were called fat and ugly. Terrible.

Tsukuyo only appears in the manga once a year, or once every two years, but ppl cant tolerate it. Each time she returns, they post their hate. They create hate accounts to harass her fans -- fans who didnt even realise that she had returned in the manga. I didnt even realise she came back a few times. It was her pathetic haters who alerted me to her return by bombarding twitter and tumblr tags. This is how fcking obsessed tsukuyo haters are. They watch for her return like a damn hawk. It’s like they secretly love her.

I’ve been here a long time. I have seen all sorts of funny shit. Back then, ppl were happily shipping PRETTY BOYS and picking on otae. Everything otae did was wrong. Everything she did was violent, and manipulative, and not gentle enough. And then sorachi introduced tsukuyo. They welcomed her warmly until sorachi wrote the red spider arc. All of a sudden, i watched a certain faction of fandom went from bashing otae to exalting her as the angel of light. And tsukuyo has replaced otae as the villainess. According to them, tsukuyo is not only boring, she’s also a product of sloppy writing, a product of misogyny, a product of all kinds of gross - but best of all, her pics are freely available for edits, and her posts are freely available for reblog whenever one wants to push the assumption that they are completely objective in attacking her character on all other days.

“i dont understand why otae gets so much hate” they start saying. Ok. But u were one of those who nitpicked on her. You think others dont notice, or dont remember the shit u said. But me, quite unfortunately, i’ve been here a long time. Previously whenever scenes of otae with gintoki were brought up, they were quickly shot down and dismissed. They hated on otae and called her unfit for gintoki. Hilariously, after tsukuyo’s red spider arc, after tsukuyo’s courtesan arc, suddenly, all these ppl started saying that all of otae’s scenes with gintoki “have so much sparks and chemistry.” The gintama 2013 movie? Suddenly they were all gushing over it and promoting it as half a basis for a gintoki ship with the other half being ginhij. They even claimed that the hand-holding moment (as a group) was so romantic.

I JUST! LMAO. Otae has always been great. I’m sorry that u only saw how good she is when tsukuyo became an increasing threat. I’m sorrier that u probably only praised tae as a means to bolster your sad attempts at arguing how terrible tsukuyo is by comparison. I’m just as sorry that there are ppl who still dislike otae, but my sorriness doesnt buy anyone a mcdonald’s meal.  

i want to bitch about hijikata and a certain cluster of his fans now. Whatever hiji does, no matter what terrible things he says, they always find it in them to forgive him. They dont shit on him whenever he shows up. Tsukuyo shows up after 2 years of absence? They throw a bitch fit. Hijikata doesnt show up for 3 weeks? “Where’s hijikata, where’s my shinsengumi” LMAO. They dont berate hijikata when he gets emotional over kondou. They dont criticise him when he seeks gintoki for help. They dont call him weak, unindependent, or a sloppy product of someone’s writing no matter what happens. 

And when ppl mentioned that hijikata and tsukuyo share some similarities, tsukuyo bashers get so worked up they have to refute it every chance they get. “THEY ARENT SIMILAR AT ALL, HOW ARE MAYO MAN AND TOILET BRUSH SIMILAR?! But hey tsukuyo is a wonderful person irl, it just doesnt mean she is a good character. Arent they just playing themselves for saying their goddess and a terrible man are similar?” LMAO

Cognitive dissonance is an amusing thing. 

I have always loved hijikata and i have always made sure to buy his merchandise in the past, but i am consciously giving a lot less shit about him in the past 3 years to the extent i have stopped buying his merchandise altogether.    

This is how fandoms operate: if a guy is violent, he is excused. If he is gentle, he is a cinnamoroll. If he acts idiotic around the girl he likes, it is funny, it is so sweet. If a girl is violent, ppl complain that she is ‘too violent’ and usually ‘not right’ for the main guy. If she is gentle, her characterisation is ‘inconsistent’. If she is violently badass with occasional gentle traits when it comes to ppl she cares about, including the main guy, she is ‘too weak’ or ‘loses her mind when in love’. She is no longer ‘badass’. 

I will always take tsukuyo’s side. And like i have said many times before, if the guys are entitled to their rudeness, fickleness, constant selfishness, inconsideration of other ppl’s feelings and health, then tsukuyo is allowed to be violent when she is drunk. She is allowed to decide how to run her life with anyone she chooses. She is allowed to fall in love and she is allowed to love gintoki. I have always wanted her to be happy with or without gintoki. I want her to have 6 children and be happy. I want her to move on from a fruitless love and be happy. 

Serious to fcking buddha. Even if she is a threat to whatever issues u are consciously or unconsciously having, it wouldnt hurt to shut the fck up for a year.

Digimon: Yagami Taichi. This one is easy. I don’t think any other character will ever come close to Taichi. 

Ao no Exorcist: Bon. Tbh Rin is really close to being my favorite because he is so darn likable...But Bon is a monk with mohawk and piercings! He is too damn cool. 

Yuri on Ice: Yuuri. Phichit is actually one of my favorites because he’s so cute and an absolute delight. But if Yuuri Katsuki wasn’t written the way he was, I don’t know if I would have finished that show. So he wins. KnB: Kasamatsu. Aomine is a close second. But I relate to Kasamatsu on a near personal level...so it’s hard not to pinpoint him as my favorite. 

FMA Brotherhood: Furher King Bradley and his son Selim. Probably my favorite usage of thematic and prose within a character. 

Gintama: Gintoki. Hands down. 

One Piece: I love all of the straw hats very strongly...but if I had to choose one....it’d be Tony Tony Chopper. Chopper’s character arc was the first time I actually cried over an anime character lol I don’t think I’ll ever forget that. 

Kingdom Hearts: Sora. The only reason why I keep shoveling money at Square for this series  is because of Sora. I love that boy and may he always be a shining ray of light in the darkness. 

FF15: It was Prompto at first (and I do still love him to death) But after playing the game for like a hundred hours--Ignis made the game for me. lol He’s the best.

Oh I watched jujutsu kaisen just before haikyuu and you’re right, the guys are on a whole different level. Favourite is megumi but honestly they’re all just so perfect. I haven’t read the manga so I haven’t met yuuta or toji yet but I plan on reading it at some point. I already know I’m gonna simp for them both when I get round to reading it. I just hope that when I do meet toji I don’t love him more than megumi cause that’s like the biggest betrayal ever. Oh and I adore the girls in it. you should see the state of toji’s body this man is so broad he rivals gintoki it’s actually unreal, those two got some of the best milk makers around. i’ll say it again because i will have to incessantly apologise for my feral behaviour and mouth foaming and shrieking when yuuta and toji get animated in a couple of years.. also bonus points for the scar on the corner of his mouth i think my loose feelings for takasugi are resurfacing

I honestly didn't expect they have kissed in the past. idk, guess I kinda imagined their first kiss is gonna happen in the present coz of how much Takasugi seemed to be on guard around her then-- as if he had set a line for himself that he shouldn't cross bc of his plans and how they would affect the Tsugaru sole heir? but it makes sense he let his guard down on one vulnerable drunken night,,, hajhjfhsjgjsahhhh look at me read this with a stupid grin on my face lol… the entire scene is so beautiful and serene (one rare moment of calm before the storm before shit hits the fan smh)

also why is this line so sad: "just tonight allow me to sheathe my sword" (and how do you come up with such meaningful lines????)

the drinking part with the boys was so funny! I can totally see that scene happening--nah it's just completely canon hehehe,, the fact that shoyo never met sakomoto makes me sad too :c he'd have been amused by sakomoto 100% lmao,,, and the part where Takasugi hallucinates about shoyo TT_TT </3 </3

for the present: nah, I didn't feel the way reader "changes" her mind comes off as abrupt or anything. for one, she is still in love with Takasugi and the feelings were mutual in the past (yk, the kiss cough cough) even if she was bitter before, thinking he had merely been toying with her feelings to achieve his own goals-- but to almost die saving the life of a "pawn"???? that is either utter stupidity or a sign of his true feelings hehehehe (ntm why you two bickering like kids in the cell?)

ahhh the poetic rain imagery for tears is back!! (although here it's from reader's pov but I have to say-> in canon this boy is just so poetic with his inner thoughts~ the rain monologue from the rakoyou arc is my favorite and also his last words to gintoki were also so tragically poetic ;-; had he not been a terrorist, he should have become a writer/poet imo lmao)

and you ended the chapter with a cliffhanger grrr jkjk ;~; wondering if there is a twist somewhere, like in nobume's case? it can't be, right? it is Takasugi who killed the Tsugaru clan, right? I mean, he had been the one making plans to get rid of this clan but did he change his mind at the last moment and someone else intercepted him to the deed and he managed to save only Harumi before reader's arrival? lol idk what to think….

on the whole, another excellent chapter, author-san! this has to be my favorite fics among all you have written so far *_* thank you once again for bringing this story into existence orz ^^

about the past, well you aren't wrong! Shinsuke was the more upright/uptight one for sure between the two of them, considering how 1)he knew what would happen and 2)he is still heavily depressed about the shouyou thing :( and that's why he has a hard time resisting and keeping his guard up. she is so carefree and forward about the way she feels, that he gets carried away. PLUS let's not forget, he is still a teenager at that time, it's heartbreaking if u consider how he never got to live as one :((( and she can afford to do that, but lacks the freedom to live freely, so while on polar situations, they do understand one another!

i won't go into much detail regarding how their relationship "ended" back then, since i'll explain that in future chapters :p so stay tuned ^^

about the present: I feel like this is where the whole tsundere Takasugi trope shines best LMAO. he's always been the kind of person to "reject" his emotions and act as if they don't matter, while acting solely on emotion (aka him acting as if gin and the others arent his comrades while constantly being up their asses, him starting an entire rebellion bcs of shouyou, claiming that people are his pawns despite saving sooooo many of them) and you know, this is one of his charms that goes unnoticed!

It's easy to assume that someone doesn't care enough or that are pure evil based on things they say, while neglecting their actions. In this case, she doesn't really know what to believe. Part of her blames herself bcs she thinks that she fell for his lies, but he never lied to her. Even if he acted coldly towards her in the past, he saved her and taught her things that shouyou taught him. He took care of her in his own way and even now, he didn't have it in him to harm her.

So yeah, in her mind he definitely is responsible for killing her father, and because of that she tried to see the "evil" in all of his actions, ignoring the possibility of them being real and that's exactly why he kissed her. Because he doesn't have an easy time communicating his emotions and he can only hope she sees the truth in his actions. It's hard on him to keep pushing her away and keep acting as if he is the bad guy all the time, despite being accountable for his actions .-. THEY ARE BOTH VICTIMS OKAY LMAO

Back to what you said, SHINSUKE WOULD DEFINITELY BE ONE OF THOSE SECRETLY ARTSY THEATER KIDS IN SCHOOL LMAO I mean he is very poetic like you said! I love that about him, and in general, I'm a huge fan of metaphors myself. Seeing one thing and connecting it to something else, it's just beautiful imo. As to how I come with meaningful lines, WELL they just happen :p I literally have a notebook on me 24/7 so I can always note things down as I think of them :p They always come in handy in future ffs or chapters.

And to end this loooooong ass response, about him being the actual killer or not, you'll have to wait and see :p next chapter will once again be Takasugi POV heavy since I'll finally reveal what the hell went down in the past. Just know that the scene in the first chapter where she had her nightmare, is not 100% correct. I mean, it was just a dream, things didn't necessarily happen like that :p
