I just had a heart attack because they unplugged and I didn't notice and I genuinely thought these fuckers died on me and I started crying. I've had these headphones since 5pm and they have already become the most important thing in my life.
Okay so I live in a very technically advanced family, the newest computers, phones, headphones... But I'm very 2007 with my technology style (if I could bring my iPod to school to listen to music without being bullied I would). For the first time in 4 years I've had plug in headphones rather than air pods or Google buds and omg they are just so much better! Never going back! Bring back headphones Jack!!

Talking Turkeys | First Impressions | Book Cover Design
Okay, so bear with me a little, it’s been over 10 years since I analysed a piece of literature in High School. But I think to truly get a good gage of what direction to take this cover, I need to firstly understand the message and themes of the book and what Zephaniah wanted to portray to the reader.
First port of call, find out as much as I can about this book and about its author. I was initially drawn to this choice as I had recently listened to the author Benjamin Zephaniah, when he made a guest appearance on Adam Buxton’s podcast, and his history is quite fascinating. Poet, novelist and playwright, Zephaniah looks to engage his audience and let them know that poetry can be fun and playful. I find out this is called, ‘dub poetry’ as they are meant to be performed over reggae music. His playful tone is juxtaposed by his serious subject matters, looking to educate children about the realities of the world, from racism, animal cruelty, consumerism and social issues.
First published in 1995, Talking Turkeys is a poetry book aimed primarily at children of the age 8-12. The name itself suggests personification of animals, as it is physically ‘talking’. It also alludes to ‘talking frankly’ as he opens up about serious matters of importance, but uses funny and comical situations, animals, images and words to juxtapose this. The title also uses alliteration with its two ‘T’s.
The title of the book is the name of one of the poems within, so I guess we start there...on page 90! Language plays a large part in Zephaniah’s poems and particularly within Talking Turkeys. He doesn’t use ‘proper’ english and instead leans heavily on slang.
“...Be nice to yu turkey dis christmas, Invite dem indoors fe sum greens, let dem eat cake an let dem partake In a plate of organic grown beans...”
In this line alone we can see his views on veganism and animal cruelty. He again tries to humanise the animal by asking the reader to invite them to join them at the table as a guest instead of as part of the meal. He also makes a nod to Marie Antoinette’s famous line of “let them eat cake”
The poem feels like it should be read aloud, it has a beat and rhythm to it. I believe this is his intention and you can watch/listen to him read it/rap to it on stage using this ‘dub poetry’ style. A style he uses to show poetry doesn’t need to boring or follow any particular rules.
youtube
In another poem within the book titled, “Royal Tea” Zephaniah pokes fun at the absurdity of a visit to Buckingham Palace to see the Royal family, their traditions and exuberant lifestyle. I think the fact he famously rejected an OBE speaks volumes on his views of being anti-empire.
“...He showed me a picture three hundred years old Kept in a frame of valuable gold I told him I had one just like it indoors And that I may sell it to help a good cause...”
I can only see 2 cover versions for Talking Turkeys. The first on its initial publish date on 1995 which features Zephaniah himself hugging a turkey ‘friend’ and to me, this has a very 90s kids tv show feel...if you know what I mean (I get those Angelina Anaconda vibes with the collage look). I think he is also surrounded by dancing peas? At least some form of a personified vegetable. Overall I find this cover quite mucky looking, its difficult for me to clearly see the image at first glance.
The new Penguin, or rather Puffin release from 2015 which is a more illustrative design featuring a hip, cool turkey dressed in street wear (probably alluding to the street politics that Zephaniah is influenced by and also the audience he wishes to attract as well as the slang language within) and surrounded by wording from the Talking Turkeys poem. The author’s name is much more prominent on the 2015 cover and the font use looks like a free hand lettering. But again, the collage element takes a nod from the original design with the pasted in clothing and accessories on the turkey.
Overall from the book, I can gather some initial ideas about themes for a potential new cover design. I like to think the first thought and most obvious choice is the image of a turkey on the cover. But as our brief denotes a heavy typographical use, I would now like to look at this in a children’s book context, as most children’s books heavily lean towards imagery use. But I feel Zephaniah’s work is really about the messages within, not on the correct use of language or words. That idea of breaking rules, questioning tradition, going against the flow, thinking for yourself and not following the crowd. How can I translate this into a typographical outcome?

3 Principles of Economics that Tether with my Daily Life during COVID-19
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6e638945869fffec2c356bf249fd6c99/8d49f1819e49b570-72/s540x810/27746a7a08c1c935cf5a065a4cc651c168e8d40d.jpg)
Name: Yusef Mohammed Angar
ID #: 17458780
A concept map (a text-heavy one!) that is meant to be informative while introducing essential economic principles in relation to my quotidian life. NOTE: These are merely examples of transactions that I have encountered in recent memory, and there are certainly a plethora of other instances that correlate to the 3 economic principles of People facing trade-offs, Trade can make everyone better off, and The cost of something is what you give up to get it. Because there are legibility issues, I will transcribe whatever text is included on each of these individual pages.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e159d48aeeef2ec3c50ff8df1c96964e/8d49f1819e49b570-eb/s540x810/bbf5716ba9f5d7f34503f56c4788383c1589e8e5.jpg)
While there are impertinent concepts mentioned near the title, including Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), Supply/Demand and Equilibrium, and productivity’s relation to standard of living, it is intended to function as a Segway toward Economics. However, Consumer and Producer Surplus play minor roles in what will be discussed shortly. The hills are representative of Standard Deviation curves, and the “Toll” sign implicitly mentions the opportunity cost of following the “Principle 2 : The Cost of something is what you give up to get it″ route relative to the other route that is primarily about “Principles 1 : People face trade-offs and 5 : Trade can make everyone better.” The individual at the bottom (an animated version of myself) states that “Man, now I want to barter the item that I originally strived to purchase!” This is indicative of the business cycle, and its never-ending existence within the realm of economics; the arrows in between the routes illustrate this trend. In other words, I won’t be satisfied in the long-run, as the likelihood of using whatever I purchase might eventually fade, and would therefore want to trade with somebody else.

Transcription: (Top Left): “START: Once the eve of the pandemic ensued, I was contemplating on how to reorient my free time; thus, I decided to pull off a beneficial transaction among myself and my sister. The Nintendo Switch, a revolutionary handheld/hybrid console that has been engineered and endearingly crafted by Nintendo’s illustrious team, appealed to my desperate disposition...
Image description: “STOP” sign includes a Nintendo logo on top of it, which also accompanies a Nintendo Switch to the right of it. There are two flags, each attached to the left and right of the STOP sign, and they both indicate that the date is “March 2020.”
(Top center/Blue Stripes): “It was then that I tempted my sister into a deal regarding her console; however, due to the Switch’s market price being sold at $300 (with used variants selling at slightly lower prices), I certainly casted doubts on resonating alongside conventional wisdom. What I did, however, required an iota of guile...”
Image Description: Green arrow pointing along a pathway that mentions how “THE ROAD STARTS HERE!”, and a sign that states how there is “ONE WAY ONLY! DECIDE!” This therefore demonstrates a sentiment that I must be assured of; that I did want to purchase the Switch, and it was a definitive decision that I made over the course of a few months. Some supplemental additions include Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Pokémon insignias across the road, and then an arrow pointing directly to the next section.
(Center/Brown): “PLAN: Because my willingness to pay was ~ $110 (for a 2-year old Switch), it did not appear to be probable. There is a caveat; because employment opportunities were scant in the economic workspace, making money by means of toil was narrowed down to a shadow of its past self....”
Image Description: This sector was intentionally set within an area of construction, which reciprocates with building my way toward a successful barter with my sister. A blue arrow then points directly into the blue section, which is what will be transcribed in the bottom left. A sign above the blue portion of text echoes apportionment from self-elation, and how the “SPEED LIMIT = 15 mph. DON’T GET TOO EXCITED!” If I were to exceed this imaginary speed limit, then my assurance of safety would be tarnished, much like how the deal would get steamrolled!
(Bottom Left/Blue): “My sister was not too dilatory per se, but mused on having to deposit her Switch in return for an opportunity that was of a paucity. Because she originally received it as a gift, there was no “cost of production” to consider.”
(Bottom right/Pink): “Per contra, there was a trade-off, one of the Ten Principles of Economics; because of the miniscule time she invested into her Switch, she eventually accepted $100! A casualty of this deal was a consumer surplus of $10 for me (alongside the Switch of course) and my sister receiving $100.”
Image Description: On the middle of the road, there is a “SIDE NOTE” that conspicuously conveys the following: “A positive externality for Nintendo, the pandemic caused a surge in sales experienced since March 2020.” Even though Nintendo’s flagship console was successful prior, it convincingly prolonged its success, and therefore led to stores having low stocks available. There is also font directly above the Pink section, which iterates as follows: “FROM then ON, I was able to utilize my... (traverses toward the right) FREE TIME fruitfully.” The ellipsis mirrors the conservative approach that is tacitly required during this trade-off, and how my composure has to prevail over internal apprehension (that is, whether or not the deal would triumph).
(Purple section): (font near “CONCLUSION” sign) “Because the Switch’s stock would continuously plummet, my incentive on purchasing a Switch from my sister became grander. (Speech bubble above CONCLUSION): “This mutually forged bridge between me and my sister’s economic wavelength permitted this trade to transpire, and thus left everyone better off.”
Image Description: There is an “OPPORTUNITY COST: REDUCED TOLL + TIME” sign to issue how there was time used in reading this section, alongside a more diminutive toll relative to the “TOLL” sign on the first/front page. There is also a blue-striped arrow attached to the pole of this sign, which essays to make clear that there is a “LONG WAY AHEAD! JUST 10 MONTHS LATER...” This is mentioning the date set for the following example concerning opportunity cost, and how that event occurred in January of 2021. Within the vicinity of the arrow, a “CONCLUSION” sign is slotted, which mimics the “everyone better off” conjecture (both me and my sister smiling, hence Principle 5′s significance in this interchange of commodities and money).

(Top left/Orange Stripes): “JANUARY 2021: As my assortment of Switch titles implacably amplified, I faced a difficult transaction that I was willing to take. Should I get Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, or CELESTE!?!?”
Image Description: The arrows moving counterclockwise (the small black arrows moving in the orange-striped locus) function as an extrapolation of the business cycle, which was already mentioned beforehand. The animated version of myself surfaces an imperative query regarding this juxtaposition, and rose the “COSTS & BENEFITS” paradigm into full prominence.
(COMPARISON): “Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove: PROS: Contains a multitude of titles that grace the timeless tropes of Shovel Knight, which includes:
1) Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope *The only multiplayer game in this bundle*
2) Plague of Shadows
3) Showdown
4) Specter of Torment
5) King of Cards
CONS: COSTS $40, which fails to match my willingness to pay of ~$20 (that might be setting a relatively quixotic bar when it comes to spending, but the Nintendo eShop intermittently includes surprising deals!).
“CELESTE: PROS: A platforming title that integrates storytelling alongside interstellar game mechanics and charming visuals --> received a 92/100 on Metacritic, and is only $20!
CONS: Unfamiliarity with developers’ previous works and only supports Single-Player Mode.
(RED-STRIPED SPEECH BUBBLE next to Shovel Knight’s enumeration): :HAS RECEIVED A 91/100 on Metacritic, hence classifying its “universal acclaim” tag.
(Bottom Left/Purple Section): “VERDICT: While both titles certainly garner captivating qualities, the opportunity cost definitely binds my decision even more! Whichever game I choose, it will likely itch my excitement and would startle it with authentic thrills; however, my cross-examination led to an intermediary decision that exploits both sets of pros simultaneously. It turns out that Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope is sold separately (move toward bottom right) and costs $15. The opportunity cost of not getting Celeste... (move to the right of the street, but below Shovel Knight’s list) and the other games bundled with Treasure Trove is still intact, but my salience instantly shifted toward Shovel of Hope.”
Image Description: Toward the bottom left and above the “VERDICT/purple section”, the “FINAL DECISION ERODED opportunity cost from my perspective” was engraved on the street heading toward the other page. The severity of one’s opportunity cost is highly dependent on one’s salience, and because I donned a negligent disposition on Celeste and the other titles listed in Treasure Trove (for now at least), my opportunity cost did not prove to be too costly. Additionally, a byproduct of this road map on purchasing Shovel of Hope meant that I wielded a consumer surplus of $5.
Image Description: The red-striped bubble next to the Shovel Knight title meanders within the circumference of ulterior considerations, and how “I initially thought that Yacht Club Games, the developer of this title, attempted on tying Shovel of Hope with the other games.” This postulation was effectively debunked once I realized that 1) Yacht Club Games is an Indie developer, meaning their stronghold in the video game industry is miniscule; this therefore means that oligopolistic/monopolistic practices are truly improbable. As was previously stated, this was an ulterior thought, and was an economic observation that I deciphered.
Stylistic Choice: Why did I construct a concept map that anyone can get easily lost in once they indulge themselves into reading it? This is due to the parochial vision that one asserts when committing economically-oriented decisions, and how there are implicit corollaries to account for when taking such risks. It is easy to get lost in excitement and foreseeing a favorable resultant, yet it is tumultuous to maintain a realistic perception of what might transpire. My sister could have easily rejected my offer if the climate was wholly distinctive, as she would have recouped $100 following the acceptance toward job opportunities. Had I not been explorative enough, I may have been compelled into shelling out a whopping $40 compared to $15, and would likely cogitate on purchasing Celeste instead. Economics suffers from the scourge of inconsistencies, and applying such parables into the experiences I mentioned assisted in the construction of a bridge between Economics and everyday life.

Sherlolly Appreciation Week 2017 - Day Six
A/N: Somehow, and I have absolutely no idea how, I am on track to pull off seven short fics in seven days for my FOURTH Appreciation Week in a row! So yay me. Dialogue in the first scene is borrowed from “The Six Thatchers” because borrowing stuff from other people is apparently a thing I do this week. Unbeta’d, as per. Will go up on FF.net and Ao3 later tonight or early tomorrow morning.
Sherlolly Appreciation Week 2017 – Day Six (Canon Compliant – Season 4)
Hi
“Father, we ask you to send your blessings on this water.” Vicar Thomlin drew the sign of the cross in the baptismal font. “And sanctify it for our use this day, in Christ’s name.”
He turned to Mary, John, and their tiny baby. “Now, what name have you given your daughter?”
John and Mary share a look, then Mary proudly told the Vicar, “Rosamund Mary.”
As if he were surprised, Sherlock lifted his gaze from his phone for a moment. “Rosamund?”
“Means ‘rose of the world’,” Molly whispered. She smiled. “Rosie for short.”
Sherlock nearly rolled his eyes before returning his attention to his phone.
“Didn’t you get John’s text?” she asked, wondering if there was some chance John had accidentally forgotten to inform Sherlock of the latest (and final, thank goodness) name choice.
“No, I delete his texts.” His thumbs continued to fly across the mobile screen. “I delete any text that begins, ‘Hi’.”
இڿڰۣ-ڰۣ—
Molly was bored. The morgue was quiet, nothing waiting to be dealt with in the lab, not even a pouty Sherlock hoping to weedle access to body part out of her.
She drummed her fingers atop her desk and wrinkled her nose, pulling open the top desk drawer in the hopes for a bit of inspiration. Her eyes fell upon her mobile and Molly snatched it up.
Her thoughts drifted back to the day of Rosie’s Christening. Sherlock had said that he deleted John’s texts, that he deleted any text that started with hi out of hand.
Was he fibbing, she wondered. Molly tried to remember how many, if any, texts she’d sent him over the years that might have begun with the friendly greeting. Surely there had to be some. Of course, most of their text conversations were about his work, and she tried to strive for a professional tone in those.
The three dreadfully long hours left on her shift made the decision for her, really. Molly pulled up his contact information and sent a text.
Hi. Bored silly. I’ve found kidney in the back of the freezer this afternoon. I was going to dispose of it, but I thought you might like to observe the effects of freezer burn.
An hour later Sherlock and John walked into the morgue.
“Oh, did you get my text?”
Sherlock leaned back against one of the examine tables, and casually crossed his ankles. “Hmm? No, was it important? Gavin-“
“Greg,” John corrected without a hint of heat in his voice. Clearly it was something he was used to doing at this point.
“-should be here within the hour. He’s got what could be a seven, possibly an eight; and he’s promised to make sure the body gets sent here.”
That should leave her plenty of time to get ready, and still have time to kill.
As if he’d read her mind, Sherlock grinned at her and slapped his hands together. “So, what do you have to keep me out of trouble in the meantime?”
இڿڰۣ-ڰۣ—
Two days later she sent another text.
Hi. Read about your case in the paper. Your seven turned out to be a nine, then? Nurse Meghan in OB says you are ‘extremely lickable’, in case you’re interested.
That should earn her a ‘Don’t make jokes, Molly’ or a ‘Why would I be interested, you know I’m married to my work’ if Sherlock actually read it.
She went to bed without receiving a reply.
இڿڰۣ-ڰۣ—
It became a habit over the next few months. Whenever she was bored or distracted—or even just wanting to talk to someone—she would send him a text. Each one started with ‘Hi.’
Hi. Mary said you took her on a case and left John with Rosie. That sounds fun. If you ever need a pathologist running around with you, I’ll volunteer!
Hi. Pasta and pork in the canteen again. Reminded me of the night you asked me to bring out the two murder victims so you could look at their feet. I’ve thought about getting a tattoo. Cherries, maybe. Haven’t figured out where, though.
Hi. Rough day. Back to back to back autopsies. Nothing you would be interested in. Gonna veg out in front of the telly with some ice cream. Maybe take a bath.
Hi. I know you don’t read these, but sometimes I like to pretend you do, and that you smile just a bit when you see that someone is thinking about you. Not for a case, just because. I hope you have a good night, Sherlock.
Hi. I miss sex. Meena says I should just go out to a bar and find a guy, but that just seems so cold. What if he’s absolute rubbish in bed? It would be very disappointing to go to all that trouble only to find out he doesn’t even know where the clitoris is.
Hi. Met a guy (not at a bar), offered to make him dinner on our third date. Toby threw up in his shoes. Turns out Toby is a great judge of character. He’s always liked you, hasn’t he?
Hi. You wore that purple shirt into the lab again. Do you purposely buy your clothes a size too small? You do know the buttons aren’t supposed to strain quite that much, right? Not that I’m complaining. As a matter of fact, give me the name of your tailor and I will personally give that man a huge tip.
Hi. Mary is a horrible horrible awesome friend. She got me very very tipsy. She bet me I wouldn’t tell you that I would like you to bend me your chair and make me scream. By shagging me. In case there was any confusion. Consider this me telling you. Ha, I win the bet! Bite me, Mary.
Hi. I apologize for everything I wrote last night. I was drunk, which is a horrible defence, but it’s all I have. Thank God, you don’t read these. I could barely look at you today without wanting to die from embarrassment. And the hangover. Mostly embarrassment.
Hi. I heard about your case. I know everyone else has already told you that it’s not your fault, you can’t save them all. You’re probably sick of hearing it. But it’s true. Remember how many people you’ve helped, Sherlock. How many lives you’ve made better. The world needs you. I need you.
Hi. You’re right, Steve was a jerk. How did you even know, you met him for maybe five minutes? Maybe I should take your advice and just stop dating all together. That’s a depressing thought.
He never responded.
இڿڰۣ-ڰۣ—
Molly leaned back in her office chair nearly three months after she’d started using the texts to Sherlock as her personal diary. Yet again, there was another long and boring afternoon stretching out before her. And then she had errands to run after that, which she was definitely not looking forward to. She pulled out her mobile and sent off a quick text.
Hi, Sherlock. Dreading going shopping, but a girl needs new knickers from time to time. I’m thinking something lacy. Thoughts? I wonder what your favourite colour is?
Ten minutes later, the morgue phone trilled with an incoming call from dispatch, letting her know there was a high priority body coming in, and DI Lestrade would be following close behind.
Molly was ready and already leaning over the body, taking photos of a strange discoloration on the victim’s cuff, when Greg, John, and Sherlock arrived.
“Hey, Molly,” Greg offered in greeting as he came to stand at the foot of the exam table.
John offered his own hello. Molly answered them both in a slightly distracted manner as she discovered a shard of plastic embedded deep enough into the shirt material that it had punctured the skin below.
“Sherlock, look at this.”
He bent down until he was eye level with the body’s wrist, and pulled out his magnifying glass. “Mmm. Could be something, could be nothing.” He straightened and looked down at her, one brow arched inquisitively. “Thoughts, Molly?” He dragged the last two words out in a way that seemed to attach quite a bit of significance to them.
Her mouth went dry and her stomach clenched. He couldn’t have. He didn’t read her texts, not those texts. “I-I wouldn’t hazard a guess yet, I’ve only just begun.”
“Right.” Greg looked back and forth between them. “Sherlock, you’ve got any theories to share with the class?”
Just like that, Sherlock was all business, and Molly realized she must have imagined the whole thing.
Eventually he had run out of observations, Greg had run out of questions, and John had run out of patience. “I hate to interrupt the party, but I need collect Rosie from the creche. Mrs Hudson is willing to watch Rosie for a few hours, but she doesn’t have a car seat for pick up.”
“Drop you off at your place and you can meet up with us at Baker Street?” Greg offered as they headed toward the door.
“Oh, Molly?” Sherlock called her name.
“Yes?” She looked up from the corpse on her table, her mind already focused on the samples Sherlock and Greg wanted her to collect.
He shrugged into his coat and moved to follow the other two men. “It’s Red.”
“Pardon?”
“Cherry red. You wanted to know my favourite colour.” Then he winked and disappeared through the morgue door before she could think of anything coherent to say.

This is a very helpful reference book I couldn't tell you how many times I have had to look up a term I didn't know and it wasn't in Webster's dictionary. Anyone in the mediacl field-Respiratory therapists, Physical Therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, Radiology technicians will find this book to be very valuable. It is written as clearly and simply as possible. Of course, everyone's favorite part is all the color photos and diagrams. It was worth every penny. This book would be great for any allied health students or graduates. It makes reading those difficult textbooks mcuh easier. Go to Amazon
Not as useful as a hard copy book. I work in the medical field and wanted quick reference for medical terms (preferably with illustrations) for my new Kindle Paperwhite and/or my Galaxy Tab. The idea was to be able to quickly look up anything from vasculature to bone structure to pathology in one easy reference. The way this book is indexed it is too slow and difficult to look things up. It is actually faster for me to walk down the hall to the reference library, find the appropriate book, photocopy a page, and return, than it is to go to the alphabetical index on the kindle and page through until you find the term. The search function is slower yet and gives either nothing found or 40 pages of excerpts where the term is used but without a definition. It frequently gave "no results" for simple terms like "diabetes", "sinus tarsi", and "siphon". Go to Amazon
... textbook purchase for my program and it is completely useless to me This was a required textbook purchase for my program and it is completely useless to me. It is far easier, faster and more efficient to google search a topic. I purchased the kindle version so I could quickly search- but it regularly "can't find" the word that I am looking for- although if I manually flip through the book, I can find the topic. I know for a fact that basic medical terminology is in the book, so it's very frustrating to have "0 results" for "cardiac" or "burn". When results DO turn up, they are usually in the form of a paragraph, where the topic is mid-line- even if there is an entire entry for the topic, it will not return as the top result. For example, searching "burn" (if it can find it), will return pages of material that references burns, but will not return the dictionary entry that discusses the definition, classifications etc. Save your money and find a good free online medical dictionary instead! Go to Amazon
Finally! I absolutely love this book. I can now read doctors' reports with total understanding. It is so far ahead of what you get in a regular dictionary. I think every home should have it! Go to Amazon
Needed both Mosby's and Dorlands I got Mosby's first as it is larger font and easier reading--it is my first "go to" dictionary as it usually has the words, ESPECIALLY when it's 2 words vs. 1. HOWEVER, it doesn't have everything, then I need to turn to Dorlands (or if I need a more full explanation). What I don't like about Dorlands is you look up a word, and it refers you to another word, and/or it doesn't have 2 word phrases like Mosby's. Between the 2 of them however, I've been able to find everything I need, but don't think there is any one dictionary that would do it. I do like the Tabors, but didn't like the small form factor..too thick and hard to keep pages open. If you travel a lot and need to take something with you that would be great, but for home use, a larger book that stays open is better for me. I like Mosby's the best if/when it has the words but don't think any one dictionary has it all.... Go to Amazon
Worth the price! I love this dictionary..When i started nursing school, people told me that I probably would not need it because everything is online now. However, I still got this dictionary and it has not let me down. I use it very often for Pharmacology and Pathophysiology..alot of medical terminology that may not have accurate meanings online can be found with authentic definitions in this dictionary. There are 100s and 100s of pictures..I would recommend ONLY this medical dictionary to anyone looking for one..There was only ONE time where the dictionary did not have a word I was looking for, but other than it was good. Go to Amazon
I got this for med school and it's very helpful ... I got this for med school and it's very helpful. Some terminology has changed, but there are newer versions of this book that are up to date. It's very helpful to have this, but it's a bit large and bulky so it's more of a desk reference item as opposed to a pocket help guide. Go to Amazon
THOROUGH AND COMPLETE: BOOK DESIGN FACILITATES QUICK ACCESS TO QUESTIONS. I purchased the paper-back version and was very disappointed because the printing lines go right into the binding and it was difficult to use. I am not a professional, but have been having serious problems and needed quick access to definitions. I found it to be the best dictionary I've seen...so REORDERED IT IN THE HARDCOVER EDITION and LOVE IT! The many colored illustrations are helpful too and the various appendixes in the back provide a lot of additional information and illustrations. The alphabetical index tabs make it even easier to find the subject your are looking for. I thought so highly of the volume that I also ordered one for my son, an OB/GYNE and one for a friend, a new Registered Nurse. Thank you, AMAZON, for providing such a great selection of books for people who do not have access to book stores where they can have a full selection of books, or even see one to purchase it.. YOU ARE A REMARKABLE "STORE!" Go to Amazon
