“demonized her by putting her in a relationship” and “being harassed for existing” yall are one to talk every kataang post i see on EVERY platform y’all are lurking saying “kataang sucks” and telling ppl to kll themselves over the ship. also demonizing her is ironic bc if she ended up with zuko it would’ve just ruined everything she went through and worked for so stay mad fucking freak 💀💀
1. Get the quote right, I said “disservices her by putting her in that relationship.” which is very different from whatever you said.
2. I can’t argue against anecdotal evidence or your experience but I can say in my experience, I’ve always seen people shit on zutara unprovoked and try to justify it with their performative activism or try to act as if it’s okay to make assumptions about someone’s character because of an unproblematic fictional ship. Also I don’t cross tag so if anything is ironic, it’s that you’re lurking in our tags when you just criticized zutara shippers for doing so.
3. Once again I said disservice not demonize, massively different. But for arguments sake tell me what did she gain from being in a relationship with Aang? Did that relationship not ruin everything she worked for? Because the Katara in ATLA was passionate and never stood on the sidelines when she saw injustice. But the Katara we see in the comics and LoK is passive and constantly sidelined to being the Avatar’s wife or mother of the Avatar’s children. Not her own person. She doesn’t even have a statue when everyone else in the gaang does. In season 1 Katara literally protests for the right to learn how to fight and in LoK we see none of the passion. What is exactly so fulfilling about her relationship with Aang? Was it him being an attentive father to their children? Oh, no that wasn’t it. So tell me, would being with Zuko really ruin everything she’s worked for, because it seems like being with Aang already ruins that quite successfully. Katara basically becomes an accessory to Aang which, yes, I would say disservices her! Especially when we’re shown that she is capable of having relationships with people based on mutual respect, compassion, and mutual emotional support. Relationships where they are equals and one is not an accessory to the other. Relationships where they respect each other boundaries and don’t act entitled to another’s affection.
But you know what’s even crazier is that at the end of the day none of that even matters because that is just what I prefer and you don’t have to agree! My problem lies within the fact that I constantly see anti zk’s assert that zutara is an inherently problematic ship or that people who enjoy the ship are problematic or are just hysterical women. Those assumptions are problematic and unfounded and if anything perpetuate misogynistic stereotypes about women being not knowing which man is actually good for them. It also requires an incredible amount of cognitive dissonance to arrive at those conclusions because the people who argue that Zutara shippers only like Zutara because they want a bad boy will talk about how Zuko has a great redemption arc in the same breath. We truly cannot have watched the same show, watched Zuko say “Hello, Zuko here” if they think the appeal of Zutara is that Zuko is a “bad boy.” However, even if it was, that still wouldn’t justify the constant negative assumptions made about the people who enjoy the ship, or the way those generalizations about zutara shippers are used as a way to delegitimize zutara (ad hominem fallacy). I fucking hate kataang and I am open and honest about that, but I don’t go around saying the actual people who ship kataang are problematic or are all secretly incels because that is a ridiculous and unfounded generalization. I hate kataang so I will critique kataang, not try to discredit its shippers in an attempt to make the ship seem less legitimate. I cannot say I’ve seen anti zks and the general fan base behave similarly.
I can’t speak for the anti kataangers in kataang tags because fun fact i have it blocked because i don’t like it! But I will say, although i do not condone going into other ships tags to instigate, there a massive difference between shitting on a ship versus shitting on the people who enjoy a ship. And mind you, I noticed the pattern of people shitting on zutara fans long before i even became a zutara fan. This is a trend amongst this general fan base that flares up anytime new atla content is released and I was venting about it on my page as someone who is tired of it. It is my god given right to vent about a fictional couple I don’t like on my page and to vent about the fandom discourse trends I notice. If you notice different ones and want to vent about make your own goddamn post, don’t act like a coward and send anon hate just because you disagree with me. I have my opinion and you’re entitled to yours. You have your own experiences with this fan base and I have mine. If your upset, vent about it on your own goddamn page instead of accosting me with your dumbassery.

Dont put words in my mouth. Im guessing youre very young to be so negatively obsessed with a cartoon. I just think it's a bit pathetic and gross to taunt people who do like the show with a petty username and baseless arguments about why the show "sucks". You tag the owl house and expect to get a majority of support? I highly doubt it. Youre a contrarian just for the sake of it and you enjoy shitting on the people that find solace in the show. You're the westboro baptist church of this fandom and its pretty sad
protip Owl House fans; don't equate queer people who have criticisms for your show with a literal hate group that dehumanizes them. like what the actual fuck you guys. do better.

Amber and orchard for the fall asks!
amber - share an unpopular opinion that you may have.
Hahaha this is like cracking open pandora’s box. I feel like I have too many.
I think my primary one though is I absolutely despise capitalism’s affect on witchcraft. I DO NOT think it’s made it more accessible for people, I feel like the only very minor positive thing is that you can now tell people you are a witch and into tarot cards and they won’t find you as weird anymore. Otherwise people don’t realize how capitalism is a force that actually strips culture of it’s meaning in order to sell it for profit and it’s affects on this practice has left a lot of damage not just to some aspects that are sacred but towards the earth since it’s a practice that works really closely with nature.
(added a read more to spare you poor scrolling souls from my rant lol)
Anyway what crapitalism does is it takes a culture and turns it into an easily consumable concept- almost like a brand, so that as long as you slap something ‘witchy’ seeming together then it qualifies as that brand. It boils everything down to an aesthetic. And no one has to actually believe in it anymore, or practice it or make any effort towards learning it or incorporating it into their lives. As long as they buy into the brand or embody the aesthetic then they count. Sometimes you can try to express that some traditions and materials and such do have meaning (I mean of course they do no one just sat around and made this shit up) people kind of have this nihilistic view that’s fed from this weird modern capitalist society that like: nothing truly has meaning anymore. But it’s like they are feeding this consumerist culture by repeating this mindset and gaslighting others when they appropriate magical practices or other cultures that are still very much alive and still tended to (often by indigenous people still being prosecuted) that are focused on working with the earth.
Then you see this ripple effect on places like instagram or the big mainstream like magazines and shit and do not get me wrong cause there are a lot of cool and creative people that practice this that are on there but there is so much cashing into this field now and oversaturation that comes with seedy and shady background stories that show creators being completely disingenuous because they really just want to make money. And then going back to my point that this practice works closely with nature, capitalism exploited the fact that we like working with certain herbs, woods, crystals etc and is overharvesting and mining and tainting the very tools that we want to work with, with greed, pollution, child slavery etc. And it’s irritating cause you can make your own tools and don’t have to import anything and you can tell everyone how bad some industries are but they don’t listen cause they are buying into capitalism’s lie that they can sell you anything at a price, even if it’s sacred. Then if you try to defend your point they tell you that this is the only way it can be accessible to everyone, but it’s NOT accessible to everyone, it strips it away from people that could be working with these tools for generations and protecting the climates that these guides and resources for the tools grow in. It also disempowers people in their craft to begin with because witchcraft is about finding that connection to your own power and magic and the bridge with the universe’s power and magic and when you venture down into this practice you will find tools and guides local to you and find ways to make your own magical tools but capitalism disempowers us by telling us that we are not legit until we can put a price tag on it. So people don’t believe in their ability to find the sacred in themselves or nature, they just keep consuming whatever herb bundle or tool capitalism spits at them because it’s the only way to feel legit in this culture.
And then since it’s seen more of a title or aesthetic and less of a way of life or set of ethics or practice, you have people interested in this spiritual or witchy community that don’t do any work or want to work on themselves that bring their shadow baggage into it. So you get racism seeping into it, homophobia, I also am so fucking confused how TRANSPHOBIA has made its way into here like transfolx are magical by just existing they are walking manifestations and works of alchemy like wtf; and like if you guys were friends with any queer people and hung out with them, they get the idea of magic, ritual and manifestation so well cause so much of their daily life already embodies some of that. But that’s a whole other topic. I vibed well with my queer friends on this and they were the only ones I could talk to about it before witchcraft became mainstream.
Then in general it’s seen as like radical if you tell people that are supposedly practicing witches that our energies should be focusing on restoring balance and we should put our energy towards healing nature or towards human rights (since humans are apart of nature) you will literally have witches being like: don’t tell me what to do!!! Like!! Gurl wtf lmaoo I don’t know how people claim to be empaths or into this but they don’t see that maybe if there was a so called “Great Awakening” to “Empower Ourselves” that’s probably what the fucking point was? Not to say that you need to spend every waking moment protesting (another contribution of capitalism- showing some kind of documented proof on social media that you stand for something instead of little daily actions embedded into your everyday life) but you can find ways to change your daily patterns to make space for the societal change that’s coming to bring in a more compassionate world and better community. But since we are so indoctrinated in this consumerist culture, so many people don’t know how to incorporate their values into their everyday lives anymore. It’s all about quantity and showing off on social media. And that negatively impacts witchcraft cause witchcraft is a daily practice you do little things for everyday that just gets embedded into your everyday life, but people get confused and think to be legit it’s something you gotta buy into or show off as proof with stylistic rituals and of course for many people that’s exhausting or financially inaccessible.
And for the sake of clarity cause the internet hates using critical thinking sometimes, of COURSE you can have a fun and flashy craft I’m not saying you can’t, but there is a massive imbalance here I am pointing out with how people are developing insecurities because they cannot attain this aesthetic overnight without dropping a shit ton of money. Yes witchcraft is very aesthetic-heavy but that’s because it’s a really creative practice that people pour their creativity and energy into and capitalism saw a way to put a price tag on it and now it’s confusing everyone else that’s mistaking this as something else to consume in exchange for money.
And then I hate that I feel often I cannot talk about this cause instead of people using their critical thinking braincells and realizing how bad capitalism is, they somehow turn this conversation into thinking that I just don’t like when a culture becomes mainstream cause not everyone should enjoy a culture or whatever and it’s like fucking hell of course I would LOVE more witches and to have more people into celebrating nature or finding their own magic and connecting to the universe and whatever, but capitalism isn’t helping at all. It’s separating us from it’s connection and the meaning behind it’s practice. (Also one day I dream of living in a witchy town or community so yeah, the more the merrier, but right now with capitalism, this method is not the way to get into this practice lol).
You really see the negative effects of capitalism marketing witchcraft because people now treat it as like this commodity they can jump into without finding a way to genuinely connect with it cause it’s all just a gimmick until the next zeitgeist. This either manifests in two ways where they think they can just buy a book or read some posts and not do any work on themselves or thinking on stuff like cultural appropriation so when they start experimenting they might bring harm to themselves by evoking spirits that do not want to work with them, or taking in some sacred herb or substance that can fuck them up leaving deep psychological damage or death- or they can harm others in a myriad of ways.
Then the other way it manifests are people feeling like witchcraft is suddenly inaccessible because you need money to practice it because capitalism put that veil over their eyes. It’s now another thing gatekept by money. So they try to reclaim it by being like: it’s just a title you can slap on yourself; but they give capitalism more power because that’s what capitalism was doing all along by stripping the meaning. Stripping it down to a concept that only matters as a label that evokes a brand or idea but not an actual practice. In a way it’s very counter culture to not buy into the aesthetic or put in effort anymore. Even if you want to put in effort you feel like you are not good enough cause you will never fit capitalism’s standards of quantity and money to spend to showcase it on the internet to feel legit. So people develop this no-effort approach to it. And ONCE AGAIN for clarity for the internet’s lack of critical thinking and jumping to conclusions I am NOT referring to anything like spoony witchcraft or energy based witchcraft (I am an energy witch primarily thank you very much) I am talking about people calling themselves witches but then when you want to sit down and chat about the craft they have a blank stare cause they were never serious and sometimes judge you for how much you cared about it cause they don’t really believe in it anyway. Not even cause it’s woowoo it’s cause capitalism doesn’t make you believe any anything anymore. The only thing it wants you to believe in is money and what you can consume with it.
And then when people online try to talk about this and point out it’s a practice these guys get angry with you like you are gatekeeping but it’s like BITCH it’s a FREE FUCKING PRACTICE like GO TALK TO A TREE go COLLECT A ROCK YOU FOUND IN THE CLEAR STREAM OF A BABBLING BROOK and maybe you’d CALM THE FUCK DOWN. Capitalism making it seem like you gotta buy all this shit to be seen as legit is not what this practice is about and it makes me upset how there is like this massive group of people that want to access this culture but are so lethargic about actually doing anything because they are disenchanted and it’s really because they are mentally bogged down by capitalism’s grip on it making them feel like they aren’t shit cause they can’t afford all that bullshit that ain’t gonna help them anyway so they just call themselves witches to get them 2 drops of serotonin and feel included but never really go anywhere beyond that cause capitalism strips the fucking joy and meaning out of everything. The only reason why this bothers me is cause I could be staying in my lane drinking my herbs and shit and chilling but then people either judge me for the effort I put into my practice’s aesthetics thinking I am shallow and buying into this or they think I am being reckless and dangerous believing in something not real by practicing a craft that tbh has a lot of dangerous aspects to it so it’s not rated E for everyone. Like you can fit it to what you want it to be since it’s your journey but it’s always been a bit edgy in some ways and it’s annoying when you get people judging you now for your lifestyle or they wonder why you are so invested cause they don’t get it.
Anyway that was a rant but you asked for it lol.
orchard - share one thing that you’d like to happen this autumn.
Get some more weed
Thanks for the asks lol. Kept the last one short haha but it’s true I have been trying to manifest for a while after my quarantine rations went out. Here are the autumnal asks if anyone else wants to ask or reblog them!

just so we’re clear, by no means do i think that it’s not okay to write about serious topics. i do that a lot, i mean, my most popular fic is literally based around an incredibly serious subject. it’s not automatically forbidden to write about things like abuse, etc; it’s all in the portrayal.
questions to ask yourself(though this is by no means a perfect list):
are you going into too much detail? if you’re describing things in a manner that could be called voyeuristic, i would suggest toning it down. i say ‘suggest’. it’s not actually a suggestion. tone it down.
are you romanticizing it? some might (and do) say that in cases of abuse, it ‘makes sense’ to romanticize it, particularly because of the ‘honeymoon phase’ in which the abuser often apologizes, shows affection, promises to change and never do it again, etc(which is bullshit). but, i mean, come on. it’s not hard to still portray it as a terrible thing, especially if you’re actually showing the mindset of the victim. abuse really fucks with your head, and it’s not exactly difficult to show that. (if you do find it difficult, consider writing about something else. i don’t have a lot of patience for people who cut corners.)
have you done your research? you should ALWAYS do your research if you’re going to be writing about serious topics. as i said in the last bullet point, i don’t have a lot of patience for people who cut corners; there’s very few legitimate reasons why you can’t research something to make sure you’re portraying it accurately. (if for some reason you actually can’t, then again: consider writing about something else.)
are you fetishizing it? things like abuse aren’t ‘hot’ or ‘sexy’. it’s not even subjective, they just aren’t. take it from an abuse survivor, it fucking sucks (to put it very mildly) and it causes lasting trauma. there is nothing fun about it. just... don’t fetishize it. please. for everyone’s sake.
are you doing your best to write it respectfully, and are you open to criticism if you slip up? this is very important. media portrayals(yes, including things like fanfiction) can, in fact, have a serious effect on people. media can teach people about things they may not have understood. sometimes it can even help people to realize what’s happening or has happened to them and others is wrong. but if it’s portrayed badly, it can really hurt people who are already vulnerable. if you’re trying your hardest to be respectful of the topic and people who have experienced it, good! you’re doing the right thing and i respect you for it. we don’t have enough people who really put the effort into it. but you also shouldn’t assume that you’re automatically going to get it right just because you’re trying your best. if you get honest and genuine criticism on how you’re portraying something, take a step back and rethink your approach.
now some might (and do) try to brush off some of the above negative behaviors with ‘i’m coping’! and you know what? if that’s the case for you, i do urge you to take a step back and ask yourself if this is actually helping you; and if you absolutely must cope with events that way, then i urge you to keep it private and not put it out for public viewing. as i said before, media can have a very real and serious effect on others, to the point that it can be either extremely helpful or extremely harmful. i’d like to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume that more often than not they aren’t trying to hurt others, but publicly presenting certain kinds of fiction can hurt people even if it’s properly tagged and warned for. and if it’s not properly tagged and warned for, then the chances of it hurting people are much, much higher. but again, i will assume that most people aren’t trying to hurt others. (if you are trying to hurt others, then that’s a whole other problem, and also, i hate you.)
i am open to genuine criticism on this post, but if you’re planning on hopping into the comments to tell me that actually, there’s nothing wrong whatsoever with romanticizing abuse or other awful things... just don’t. thanks.

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated? YES / NO
Were they relevant to the main story? YES / NO
Were they relevant to the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO
How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. ( more like mixed but eh )
How strictly do you follow canon? — I may not roleplay him as much as I like, but I do try to stick to as canon as possible. However, Mizuiro is a very side character, with very little screen time, so much of it is also left to my own interpretation of his whole character. We’re at least lucky Kubo included a chapter about him, Keigo, Chad, and Ichigo when they first became friends, and the little snippet of his personal life in that chapter. So that’s at least something to give more depth into him rather just one of Ichigo’s school pals.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals. — Look I’m not gonna try to oversell my boy. But understand that he is absolutely precious and must be protected at all cost. In what is known, he’s had a rough childhood and be hooking up with older ladies like a gigolo, and that’s at least been since he was in middle school. He’s also a tactical person, very smart even if isn’t academically but street-wise, and so fucking brave. He was literally the calmest of the group when Aizen came to the real Karakura Town. The guy literally threw a fucking bottle at one of the biggest baddies in the Bleach universe and deadpans at the results-- like bitch what? And let’s not even mention how he chucked a homemade bomb at him too. Like, I wouldn’t be shocked if Aizen saw Mizuiro again and got petty af at this lowly human that gave zero shits in that little scuff. My boy was probably scared af, but took charge like it was no one’s business in order to save his friends.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?). — He’s such a side character. Him and Keigo are introduced at the beginning of the series, and then left to have nothing to do with the main story. Sure there were some scenes in which they interacted with Kisuke or Shunsui, or that little fight between them and Aizen. But there wasn’t anything major. Nor did Mizuiro get his own moments, like Keigo did with his sister and Ikkaku. The most he got was one single chapter that took a single glimpse into his home life. And it’s really sad and tragic, even if most of it was implied.
What inspired you to rp your muse? — Well... I have thing for unpopular side characters. Mizuiro happened to be one of them, especially since the scene between him and Aizen. He appears as such an interesting character, yet is left on the sidelines so much. There’s so much unknowns with him, things left to be implied and speculated outside of Ichigo’s and the other main character’s pov. Like when did he start seeing ghost? Why were he, Keigo, and Tatsuki in Kisuke’s basement when Ichigo and the gang left for Soul Society the first time? When did Kisuke even approach them? What exactly prompted Shunsui to approach them, offering them a ticket to the Soul Society if things went south in the war? There’s a lot more that runs through my head with Mizuiro, and this includes Keigo and sometimes Tatsuki, since they’re together so much. I want know, understand him, get an idea of what’s been going on while Ichigo and the gang are playing hero in the Soul Society.
What keeps your inspiration going? — Honestly... I’m not entirely sure. I don’t play him often, and part of that is the lack of Keigo and Tatsuki. But I love him too much to abandon him again. His character is so underrated, and I just wanna do him justice. Bring a light to an untold story.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice? YES / NO. ( at least I hope)
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO. ( i want to, but i never know how )
Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO. ( again i want to, but... )
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO.
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO. ( maybe if i gave him more spotlight )
Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO. ( i’m always concerned about my descriptions and grammar )
Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO.
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal? — Constructive criticism, of course. Sometimes I may get defensive, but that’s just a human instinct. I do take it to heart, making note of it for later.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character? — Yes! Always! Even if it means making me think on the spot or just actually putting into thought on the subject. Development is always great in a character, because it brings more depth into them, and I’m always into that!
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why? — It would depend. I would love to discuss it. However, if it’s something that completely diverts him from canon, goes against the universe, etc. then I’m not so sure I’m interested. And with my shinigami au, I’m much more hesitant. But I am open to their take of the au, such as his possible rank and division from where I have him at now.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? — I mean... There’ll always be different opinions about a character. And again, it would depend on what it is they disagree with. I’m a hesitant person on this, as I try to keep my muses as canon as possible. And while Mizuiro doesn’t get a lot of backstory or scenes, there are some canon things I prefer to keep in my portrayal and I will defend it no matter what.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? — Honestly I don’t understand why they would. He’s never really been shown with a negative lens in the series, except when dealing with his home life in one chapter. But, if someone really does hate Mizuiro, then that’s on them. I won’t waste the energy to change their mind, nor be stressed about. I’ll still be confused, but that’s about it.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? — Please! Do this!! You’d think since I’m a native English speaker, I’d know how to properly write in my own damn language. But truth is, I’m really bad at it! Most my writing I feel turns more poetic because of this-- or some details are often missed because I didn’t write it properly.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun? — I try to be, and for the most part am. I’m one of those writers willing to dive into more sensitive topics, if for the sake of character development and exploration. Not to mention, I have a very thick line drawn between the writer/mun and their characters/muses. At least in the case of myself. Also, good reminder that I’m extremely shy, so more than likely I’m being anxious about whether I should pm you or if sending this or that ask from one of my muses is okay or not, even if you say otherwise.
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

Meesa been a dipshit, Perry the Platypus!
(I was gonna just edit my sidebar for this information but there’s some sort of HTML error with hyperlinks that I can’t seem to fix because I don’t remember how to Tumblr, so here’s a post instead)
I am just back real quick to clear a few things up. One thing I’m not clearing up is my reputation, which is very deservedly not so great
Here’s the deal. This blog is a museum of cringe and rather than deleting it, I'm going to leave it here as an example of what not to do/how not to act/etc. A lot of times I was really positive, and it was genuine! That’s fine. But... A lot of times I was really negative, and it was also genuine. That’s not fine. Negativity is always a two-way street, no matter who ‘starts it’. Point is, it’s really important to control how much of yourself and your views you show to a group of people or a community, and I failed to do that. It’s really important to separate how people see you from who you are, and I also failed to do that. It’s really important to be able to comprehend criticism of behavior just as well as you can comprehend criticism of media, and I failed to do that. It’s really important to remember that negativity rots your brain and your soul no matter what’s ‘right or wrong’ about whatever situation is negative, and I failed to remember that!
(’keep reading’ link on account of a sensitive topic mentioned, see tags for warnings)
So, I spent all of these years refusing to tell anyone in the community that I’m a CSA and sexual assault survivor and that this is what the sexual shit was about. (There are a lot of reasons, but I think the main one was that I didn’t want to deal with the excessive sympathy from some people contrasted with excessive hatred from other people. I just wanted to be a run-of-the-mill NSFW writer, not someone capital-W-capital-C Writing to Cope... which is the truth.) Well, ‘about’ meaning I started down that path to cope and it grew from there. Obviously I was not writing jokey NSFW tales for coping, those came later after I’d successfully gotten a handle on how to feel ‘normal’ (meaning comfortable, I guess) about sex.
I sometimes wonder if I should have been open with people about this from the start, but I’ve also heard the opinion that survivors don’t ever owe anyone that detail (the victim status) -- and while I’ve long felt ‘on the fence’ between those two options -- especially after I had other victims get mad at me over the fact that I hide it -- I’m leaning more toward the latter opinion now. IMO it doesn’t need to be anyone’s business if someone has been raped, regardless of what media the person creates. This is just my opinion of course.
Back in September I briefly revealed my victim status but received immediate hateful backlash for it and deleted the posts. In hindsight I don’t think this was a true reflection of how people see survivors in cases like mine, even on Tumblr; rather, it was a fluke chunk of people who were probably the same person, or fewer than they seemed. I still believe that the majority of people are understanding toward survivors, even those who ‘don’t fit the social narrative’ or however people want to phrase it. If anyone wants to, for the sake of... anything I guess, the edited/redacted posts are still in the September text post archive; only the direct disclosure ones were deleted.
I’ve decided to permanently come clean about my victim status because I am tired of feeling like I am lying by omission, and the majority of my bridges are either burned or nonfunctioning now anyway. So there’s that fact, maybe it will make my tonally and topically awkward presence in this community make more sense, if not then aight
Back on track: Overall, make sure you don't give energy back at -- or otherwise contribute to -- drama in Internet communities, because it can mess up one’s life big time. I learned the hard way, so please don't learn it yourself the hard way; instead use people like me as an example and avoid making these mistakes. All of my worst mistakes are right here on this blog and public, and I did it to myself by both taking others’ bait for negativity and contributing my own original negativity; what’s in common between those types is that I could have stopped both of the patterns by doing nothing. I hope something constructive can come for somebody else from my leaving this blog as-is; look through it, see how I overshared about my life and feelings, see how I’d fluctuate between ‘totally fine for months’ and ‘snaps all of a sudden’, see how I gave the SCP community too much of myself and thus became someone who takes everything too personally for his own good... and keep in mind how that all came across despite the fact that I had good intentions. Intentions don’t mean shit, sadly, if behavior doesn’t reflect it. Making enemies easily is a curse, but it’s a curse the affected person can remove if they make the effort. I should’ve made the effort.
If anybody wants to chat or wants additional context or whatevs, my Discord is Cyantreuse#6266. (Obligatory warning that I don’t always reply quickly because I’m running errands/working.)
I won’t rule out using this blog again one day, but at this time I don’t want to have a platform readily available where I can spew whatever I want at a couple thousand people at any given time, because that’s the circumstance I put myself in for years and it made me act a dipshit on too many occasions. While I think I’ve learned how I fucked up, I don’t yet trust myself enough to have the resource available beyond making this one post about the relevant issues at hand. Right now I use Reddit; I am fond of it because the comment voting thing is an ever-present reminder that there are repercussions for what people say -- conversation format is important, and I do sometimes wonder how I’d have turned out if I’d learned how to Internet in threaded conversations instead of in reblog chains.
Please do reach out on Discord if you wish, though know I’m only giving that because I am about to log right back out after I hit post and not look at my blog again for however long it takes me to feel like a stable person -- just don’t want to permanently ghost everybody either.

Hi Arya stan from before here. I don’t hate Sansa I actually really like her character and started following her tag on tumblr and guess what it’s super annoying most of the time to try and appreciate her when there’s 1000+ blogs who can’t just like her without hating Arya and Dany. Season 7 had shit writing for all of the characters so I get being angry at Arya for the things she did then because some of it was dumb I get it. I just find it really annoying that Sansa stans have spent the 1/2
Have spent the last week or so trashing Arya and Dany because of a 10 second clip that nothing happened in. Why do you guys want her to come for Dany and Arya? Why do you want to watch a show where they make women fight because it’s fucking gross? I see no one comparing the male characters and preparing them to go against each other. I don’t think Sansa is an idiot. Dany is an important ally against the white walkers and I hope they come to appreciate each other and work together. I hope she 2/3
I hope she protects Arya and they actually get along like her parents would’ve wanted them to. The last thing I want to see is a season of Sansa passive aggressively berating everyone in the room just for the sake of her being a “bad ass” it’s stupid and doesn’t make any sense. Go watch the video where the writers discuss season 7 and you’ll see that Sansa was still being manipulated by Petyr and did want to take power from Jon. Arya had a right not to trust her in the beginning. 3/3
________
What’s so wrong about me having an opinion and expressing it? I can’t stand S7 Arya and Daenerys in the show, and I have every right to express why. If you don’t like that I do that, just block me or mute the anti arya stark and anti daenerys targaryen tags so none of that pops up in your efforts in finding someone who appreciates all three characters. I’m sure there are people who love Sansa that think really fondly of Arya and Daenerys. I’ve seen some of these people, and I even follow some of them. There’s two Daenerys stans on twitter that I absolutely love, and their analysis on her character (especially the book version of her) is outstanding. There’s a lot of Sansa stans as well who I see really appreciate the sisterhood between her and Arya, who have both of them as their favorite characters. All props to them. However, that’s not me. I don’t like these two characters (among many others) right now and I’m not going to pretend to like them, or filter my opinions because of some stranger on tumblr. If I like them later on, then that’s good, but we’ll get there when we get there. I’m here because I want to discuss the series in a candid manner, and how am I supposed to do that when whenever I talk about my negative feelings on a character, someone always complains on my blog about it. If you don’t want to see that negativity, block the tag, or me. Yes, I fully agree that Season 7 has been really bad for most characters. Not all though. Cersei stood out to me as being magnificent in the past season. She clearly surpassed her father in any way you could think of. Jaime I still really enjoy and find quite compelling. Even though I wasn’t satisfied with some elements in her story (aka. everything that has to do with Arya), I really enjoyed Sansa and her story-line last season as well. Plus, there was Theon, who’s character arc is turning out quite different from what I originally imagined. So there’s that. I didn’t like what was going on with pretty much everyone else, and I’ll elaborate on that if I wish to.
The thing is that Sansa stans have said nothing about Arya in relation to the new content that has been put out. Arya stans just want to insert themselves in an argument that they play absolutely no part in. This has nothing to do with Arya. Yes, I did make a post elaborating on my frustration of how much of an absolute monster she was (don’t kill the messager, maisie williams said that first) last season and how the show is literally going to ignore it, but when it comes to the actual trailer and any of my post about it, Arya wasn’t even really on my mind. Nor was she on any of my mutuals mind either. That being said, let’s talk about Daenerys for a moment. I criticize Daenerys because she’s a tyrant, because she’s an imperialist, because she has committed literal atrocities, because she has been neglectful of the former slaves in Essos, because she is pretty much slated to commit atrocities in Westoros as well. She is a threat that needs to be dealt with, in the same way that Cersei and the White Walkers are, and I don’t even know how Daenerys stans manage to still ignore it when all of Emilia Clarke’s interviews about this new season alludes to the fact that Daenerys is going to snap soon. Plus, for starters, when has Daenerys been a good ally to the North? She has been more of an inconvenience in the fight against the white walkers than everyone else combined. She gave them a literal dragon that destroyed the wall. Because of her actions and general incompetence, thousands of people are going to die. That’s not forgetting that without Daenerys in the equation, all the seven kingdoms could have worked together to deal with the threat, but now Cersei is going to stab everyone in the back. So like…Daenerys really needs to clean up her mess. Also, the idea that having two female characters be against each other is ‘‘fucking gross’‘ is just weird. Y’all didn’t say the same thing when Daenerys and Cersei were fighting for the throne. Y’all didn’t say the same thing with Lysa was trying to murder Sansa. Y’all didn’t say the same thing when any of the male characters have expressed distaste with each other. There was a literal war of FIVE kings, but it’s so terrible to suggest that two women who would have very valid reasons to not like each other, don’t like each other. The trailer hints at that, all the casual fans are talking about it and articles that were written months beforehand even suggested this being an actual thing. This is not something that Sansa stans have created out of thin air. It’s a legitimate plot point in the story, that you will just have to learn to accept one moment or the other because it’s going to be an actual thing. And did you just say that you don’t see people pining the male characters against each other? Cleganebowl? Did you forget about that? People have been hyping it up for years now. Daenerys has been a liability thus far, and has done absolutely nothing to earn the trust of anybody in the seven kingdoms, so I really don’t see what Sansa has to like or respect about her, especially considering that she risked her life in order to take her ancestral home back and have it be independent again.
Honestly, Sansa and Arya are probably going to get along just fine next season. I don’t mind that, because that’s what I wanted in the first place last season, but that didn’t happen. Now, the writers made me intensely dislike a character that I really enjoyed, and that makes me extremely sad when looking at how much they could have done with their relationship and Arya as a character. I don’t really care that much about Arya in the books, but there’s a lot more to her character, and I understand why people love her that much. I don’t share the feeling, but I understand. Arya in the show is an empty vacuum of murder and sexism, and I’m not going to pretend that I like it. I also don’t want Sansa to be passive aggressive towards everyone. I hope Jaime pledges his allegiance to her, I hope we get more moments between her and Brienne, I hope they have more conversations between Jon and Sansa, hope we get more of her with Bran as well. I hope that we get to see her dynamic with all kinds of characters. Just because I pointed out that she clearly doesn’t like Daenerys doesn’t mean I want her to dislike everyone. Also, just because I want the show to recognize that Arya has lost herself, doesn’t mean that I want Sansa to hate her. I want the problem to be addressed in the narrative, and fixed later on. Also, Sansa wasn’t really manipulated by Littlefinger. He was incapable of making her do one thing. He told her to keep Brienne close yet Sansa sent her away. He tried to increase the divide between her and Arya, and she spotted his slipup and went to Bran to verify all the information with him. On the other hand, Arya was running around spying everyone at Winterfell like a little rat, and tormenting Sansa for being feminine every step of the way. The only one he did manage to manipulate was Arya. Plus, Sansa was literally offered to take Jon’s spot (and if she did it, I would have cheered) but she refused the damn thing. Like, we seen the scene. Also, the fact that Sansa wanted power, but still pushed herself to the side to let Jon have and keep it just goes to show how much of a great and caring person she is. Sansa was an absolute queen this season and had not committed one wrong act and that’s the facts. So nope, Arya did not have any right to torment her, or to make her fear for her life seeing as Sansa did nothing wrong. I even made a post a while back elaborating on that, so if you want to read it, you can.

Hi! I was wondering if you suggest reading ‘A Breach Of Trust’? I’ve seen both positive and negative reviews of it and idk if I should continue with reading it (I’ve already read a few chapters). It seems like an interesting plot but from what I’ve read and the conversation around it I’m worried it might just be a fic that has angst just for the sake of angst.
Real short answer: YES! Always give the fanfiction a chance before you make any assumptions. That’s always been my big rule. Don’t let anyone else tell you how to feel about anything if you have not even read it.
Longer answer: Okay, I’m notorious for long-winded answers, so here we go.
I actually learned about Mob Psycho 100 FROM fanart made for A Breach of Trust. It was made by sanddraws–an artist I would die for, bye–and it was their big ol comic for the 9th chapter. I was super curious about it, but also super confused because Mob had long hair so I thought he was a girl and I thought it’d become some weird romance, so I figured, “eh, I don’t dig it, I’ve seen this a thousand times” I watched MP100 afterward, then liked the series so much that I began to seek out fanfiction. I saw ABoT, saw the tags, and was like, “oh that looks like shit, looks like every other fanfiction out there,” and then I moved on. Then I started to look up just regular fan art and I saw fanart for ABoT AGAIN and I was like, “Okay. What the fuck is up with this fanfiction?” It looked like shit to me. The tags were “kidnapping” and the moment I saw that, I was like, this is gonna be the same shit like everything else. Exactly your worry–angst for the sake of being angst.
But I was like, what the hell, people keep screaming about this, fine, I’ll read it. I clicked on it. I opened it.
I stayed up until 2 am reading it.
I can’t speak for everyone else, but just… think of every fanfiction you’ve read. All of the drudge. All of the bullshit. People getting hit by angst for no reason and you immediately exiting out of the story going, “Okay, fuck that, that just pisses me off.” Like, you know how no one acts like normal human beings? How they just STAY in the angsty situation and you’re basically pulling your skin off your face?
This is everything NOT like that. The characters actually feel real. The side characters are comprehensive, small, but so important. You know side characters that you could just not give a shit about? These are not them. Like wow, I actually like the side characters a lot.
The twists. Holy shit the twists. The writer knows how to use prose, they know how to bring something back from old chapters into new and you’re like, ‘OH SHIT, THAT HAPPENED LAST CHAPTER, THAT’S SO FUCKING COOL,” and then you’re left on the edge of your seat.
I’ll admit, it starts really slow. But it gets more and more intense and so… just so cool, man.
Okay, in terms of the actual angst, it’s really not that bad. Like, have you ever seen slightly more fucked up anime shows were a kid’s hand gets… I don’t know, stabbed, and like, ooh, maybe a crow dies? Like, that’s it. As someone who has been exposed to so much more in canon anime (and even fanfiction for other anime), ABoT’s angst seems… super tame to me. And it’s quick, you’re given A LOT of breathing room in between. The writer knows how to balance the angst with the humor, so I liked it a lot. I… question how many critics have actually read the fanfiction because they claim that the angst lasts for the entire fanfiction, which it doesn’t even last for a third of it, and the rest of it is just feel-good, “let’s put Mob together” and let him drink milk and be happy.
It’s really nice, man. I actually genuinely like it. It has it’s flaws, sure, and if you want to see my opinion, I left a big ass review on the very last chapter. My name’s DashOfPeppers on there, and I’m a bowl of ramen. I wrote an essay for a response.
Anyways… sorry this is so long. But yes! I genuinely liked it. You might like it too, or you might hate it. But please read it just a little more if you want to get a good opinion of it. It gets really neat by like the 4th or 5th chapter! And let me know how you felt about it afterwards! I’d love to hear!
#spiteful answers#ahaha never ask me to review anything ever#i give essay-long answers#my professors: where's your essay?#me: i don't have your fallacy essay but look at this fanfiction essay instead#please let me know how it turned out!#abot#mp100

https://caddeter.tumblr.com/post/182525513250/imagine-being-so-fucking-stupid-that-you-decide-to
Well now, let’s give this a REAL stress test huh?
Yeah, no shit they blocked you, all you’ve done is proven that you have an I.Q. score that needs to be represented by a letter to explain how stupid you act. Remember when you said this:
“ cept 90% of it isn’t criticism, criticism would actually be helpful, no its at the very best nitpicking to the extreme and then crucifying the show and creators who put a ton of work into making a great show over some inane bs.”
1. Considering that Volume 6 seems to have been made in response to most of the criticisms the RWDE tag has given, I’m guessing those criticisms were actually pretty darn easy to find and were actually quite helpful.
2. So it’s wrong for us to ‘crucifying the show and creators,’ but it’s okay for you to crucify us?
3. “put a ton of work into making a great show.” Dumbass, you don’t fight opinions with opinions, and great shows don’t tend to have:
Uninteresting characters
Underutilized plot threads and potential
Blatant plot holes and contradictions.
Every cliche in the book with no self awareness.
Years and years of queer-baiting.
Unsympathetic characters.
No clear reason for… Anything.
A plot that relies on its characters all being too incompetent to do their jobs, or even exist for that matter, in order to flow correctly.
Constant ass pulls.
Deus Ex Machinas
Over reliance on cliffhangers in order to keep its audience invested.
Villain Sues.
Mary Sues.
Marty Stues.
Blatant rip offs of everything more popular than itself. Not even references, just blatant rip offs.
Poor communication between the writers, animators, and soundtrack artists to the point where you wonder if they entered the same room at any point during production.
Writers who flat out admit they have terrible memory.
A good case for sexism.
Failure to deliver on almost everything they promised their audience
And no comprehension of how writing works at all.
Ad Hominin as an argument thus disregard.
Sorry but don’t you know? Everyone in the RWDE tag says they don’t listen to them so an improvement CAN’T be made in response to RWDE. Or, are you just just lying?
Considering you LOVE to bring up the dead and try to harass anyone into silence while saying people who haven’t done anything nearly as bad hould eb crucified:
Yes. By YOUR standards.
And finally:
Opinion
Opinion
Opinion
Opinion
Opinion
Opinion
Opinion
Opinion
Only once so STILL an opinion
Opinion
Opinion
Same thing as before
Same thing as before
Opinion
Proof
Proof
Opinion
Opinion
And Opinion
So out of 19 arguments you used opinions for 17 of them. Funny then huh? Almost like your standards are arbitrary and contradictory.
If RWBY had a ton of work put into it, we wouldn’t have a series of exposition dumps that contradict the episodes, we’d have a much clearer idea of when team RRNJ started their journey to Mistral and when it ended in relation to everything else, we’d have actual distinctions between Semblances, Dust, and magic, we wouldn’t have been making the complaint that Ruby felt like a non-entity in a show indirectly named after her for over five fucking years. Volume 5 spent over half it’s run time focusing on the main characters sitting around a house and talking, for fuck sake!
Cadder-
They have made distinctions between all three
You’ve been provided with proof to the contrary for years but ignored it.
And you like Red vs. Blue which did precisely for FIVE SEASONS.
You only made one fucking one point out of 23 so far. Pretty damn telling eh?
Oh and if making a complaint makes it valid, doesn’t that mean that OP’s compliant is automatically valid as well? Doesn’t that mean the THOUSANDS of complaints I have made are all automatically valid? And if not thus we must have a set standard: RWDE fails by any standard that is set. So, are you wrong...or are you wrong?
But even if you want to ignore all that, that’s why the RWDE tag exists! It exists so that you can blacklist the RWDE tag and more easily ignore it. What you’re doing is the equivalent of diving into a pool of piranhas and then complaining that you got bit.
And yet here you stand, eating food you hate for no reason and complaining about it. Maybe you should listen to yourself.
Here’s a thought: Maybe the people in the RWDE tag who stick with RWBY actually want to see a good version of it, and you don’t get that by flat out ignoring the bad. I mean, it’s not like they constantly say that or anything.
And it’s not like the creators are constantly say they work hard or that others constantly say they make great show. So, Cadder, what sets you above them? You know, aside from your narcissism?
Says the guy who can’t handle the idea that maybe people don’t like a show he does, and needs to go out of his way to insult them for no other reason. The RWDE tag was made so that people like you could avoid the crowd that didn’t like RWBY, but since you can’t handle that idea, fine: This is going in the main tag.
Says the guy who couldn’t take his own bullshit for a single second before screaming ad yelling like a petulant child.
And gee Cadder, didn’t you JUST say that RWDE sticks around because they DO like RWBY? Huh, was that a Freudian Slip I read?
And finally: Rooster Teeth makes plenty of other content and there are SO many others. RWBY was made for it’s audience and you could avoid it yourself.
But since you can’t handle that idea, fine. I’ll continue to attack you then.
No, you’re an idiot for ignoring what they’ve said, why RWDE was created, and for not following your own advice.
Gee, and yet you ignore what the creators have said, ignore why RWBY was created and ignore your own advice. But hey, takes one to know one right.
The RWDE tag complained about how nobody seemed to care that Oscar was being taken over by Ozpin, not even Oscar himself, and it cast Ozpin into a very negative light by making him akin to a parasite from a sci fi horror movie. Volume 6 showed that, yeah, the characters in-universe see that as fucked up, and they rightfully call Oz out on it.
Nope. Ozpin being in Oscar was barely brought up and in fact ignored.
So 0-1.
The RWDE tag complained that Jaune took away Ruby’s chance to talk about her struggles in Volume 4 and her big fight with Cinder in Volume 5, once again stealing the focus from her. One of the first things they did in Volume 6 was remove Jaune from the plot for a few episodes, and even when he came back, they focused more on Ruby.
Nope. Ruby talked about her struggles with Oscar in Volume 5 and you screamed at the creators for it while Ruby never re fought Cinder.
Her focus was said everywhere ELSE but RWDE so 0-2.
The RWDE tag complained that Ruby never took the chance in Volume 5 to ask Ozpin about her silver-eyes, instead seeking to learn hand-to-hand combat that was only important because they changed Mercury’s fighting style. Volume 6 introduced a new character who had silver eyes in the past and had her teach Ruby how to use her silver eyes.
Except that’s based on the idea of Ruby not taking control, not her Silver Eyes. Still doesn’t apply to what RWDE has said so 0-3.
The RWDE tag complained that, despite setting up and foreshadowing a big confrontation between Ruby and Cinder, Volume 5 did not have Cinder take the chance to attack or even indirectly hurt Ruby. Volume 6 almost immediately brought Cinder back, and rekindled her hatred on Ruby.
Except that that Cinder never lost it AND since Jaune did nothing else in the Volume, ignoring you was GOOD writing. So 0-4.
The RWDE tag complained that Ozpin was completely incompetent for volumes upon volumes by keeping his allies in the dark, making him a very untrustworthy individual. Volume 6 has him face some consequences for those actions.
Nope. Ozpin was never treated as incompetent nor showed he was gonna change. Other people said he should face consequence but by your own admission: you never did. So 0-5.
Let’s make that 1-28 to gather all the arguments into one spot.
I could go on.
Please do. I wanna see how far you’ll dig that hole before you realize it’s your grave.
There plan has been to wing it. They’ve already gone on record and said that Ruby’s development and focus was one of the things they wanted to fix with Volume 6.
Let’s add: ‘I don’t know how writing works’ to the list of reasons why you’ll never be listened for.
Because planning something it doesn’t mean every single detail is planned out. Every single writer knows this.
I said they made Volume 6 in response to the criticisms, I didn’t say they did it well. It can easily be argued they didn’t understand where the criticism was coming from, which given some things Miles has said about RWBY’s critics in the past, isn’t that wild of an assumption to make. Also, general consensus seems to be ‘it’s better than last Volume.’ And while that isn’t saying much, it still means its an improvement.
Not according to RWDE *cough* Damage Control *cough* The fight between Sokumotanaka and SSSN *cough*
Do you see the quotation marks, or are you just trying to put words in my mouth? Of course it’s wrong to attack the creators of a bad show, but the RWDE tag doesn’t do that! Attacking the creators of the show would be launching death threats their way. Attacking the creators of the show would be harassing them online through their social media accounts. Attacking the creators of the show is not making jokes at their expense. Nobody complains when we make jokes about Micheal Bay, nobody complains when we make jokes about M. Night Shamalan, nobody complains when we make jokes about Reki Kawahara; so why do you complain when we make jokes about Miles Luna?
You know-
Because when this exact same shit happens elsewhere, you call it attacking. When it happens with SU, you scream your heads off at SU crits despite them using ALL your arguments. So we’re just following your standards.’
Oh and no on digs up Micheal Bay’s dead friend to attack him with the corpse. That’s pretty fucked up. You wanna know who agrees with me? Your little inspiration, Doug Walker. When his character The Nostalgia Critic did that, he was treated as someone who made a serious fuck up ad felt remorse. You don’t act like or feel like that. So nice try.
The toxic part of the FNDM are the ones who barge into the RWDE tag and assert their views. The toxic part of the FNDM are the ones insult and belittle the critics of the show just because they found a flaw in their precious little cartoon. The toxic part of the FNDM are the people like you. The RWDE tag was created so that you could ignore us and we could ignore you, it’s the equivalence of a sign that reads ‘Do not enter! Radiation!’ When you ignore that sign, it’s your own damn fault.
And RWBY is the equivalent of ‘Don’t eat! Fish!’ When you eat fish and bitch about it, it’s your own damn fault.
Also: mind showing me where those people use your dead friends against you? ... No? Then you hold that title.
Oh, I do, you don’t. Criticism is when you voice your misgivings about a show, backing it up with examples, explanations, and facts, in the hopes that the people who make the show will see those criticisms and try to improve.
Except that if anyone treats a show you like in the same manner, suddenly it’s not criticism anymore and you default to MY definition. Sorry Cadder, can’t have both.
1. If you think the RWDE tag is terrible, than stop reading it.
2. Would you rather we complain about a show we don’t watch?
3. I did stop watching it, after Volume 3.
4. That doesn’t change the fact that the characters would still be uninteresting.
1. ‘Because we just want the RWDE tag to be good!’
2. You don’t watch it
3. So you have no idea what you’re saying. What a that about examples ad facts again?
4. Says the man who doesn’t watch the show.
Hey, remember back in Volume 3 when Penny mentioned to Ruby how she had a plan to stay with her at Beacon? No? Well, neither do the writers.
What about Yang’s PTSD arc, which they seemed to blaze through, and only ever give a passing mentioned to ‘Yeah, she still has PTSD?’
What about Weiss’s romance with Neptune, which came out of nowhere and promptly went back to it?
What about actually having Ozpin be a shady, morally grey individual casting which side of his conflict with Salem could be considered a ‘good’ guy, instead of just having him get sick and then pinning all the blame for everything that happened on Salem?
Or hell, what about any of the racism against Faunus, which only seems to exist at the most minor of levels most of the time?
1. Hmm, almost like it was a Red Herring. What was that about ‘not understanding writing’?
2. Showed, didn’t tell it. Just like RWDE always says.
3. You mean the character who only barely appeared in this previous Volume? Hm...
4. Hey didn’t you say you stopped watching the show? Well I guess that makes sense as Ozpin was never treated like that.
5. How would you know? You stopped watching the show. As it shows since Meagrie, Illa, Adam’s brand, the Fanaus being locked in cages in Ozpin’s flashback ect.
The Grimm are supposedly attracted to negative emotions, and this is even how they were able to determine where the White Fang were hiding outside the kingdom of Vale in Volume 2. Yet despite that, the White Fang weren’t being overrun with Grimm down in the tunnels.
What’s more, during the same volume, in the same location, the negative emotions brought on in Yang, Blake, and Weiss when Oobleck questioned their motives to becoming Huntresses didn’t attract any Grimm to the campsite. The Grimm were only every drawn to negative emotions when the plot called for it.
Even still, this raises the question of why the Grimm are attracted to negative emotions and why they only target humanity and its creations when they were created by the God of Darkness to be the general embodiment of death, meaning that they would go after everything that’s living.
The rules of Aura also tend to fluctuate in how it works and how powerful it is. In Volume 1, Pyrrha asked Jaune why he didn’t activate his Aura to protect himself during initiation, then in World of Remnant, it was stated that Aura passively protects its wielder, meaning Jaune shouldn’t have needed to activate it.
What about all the leaps in logic required for Cinder’s plan from Volume 1 to Volume 3 to work? Her plan required matches in the Vytal Tournament to end specific ways despite how even they looked, and the fact that JNPR vs. BRNZ only ended with team JNPR winning because BRNZ didn’t recognize an opportunity to attack. It required the Fall Maiden to not run away despite having every opportunity to and instead continue to fight Cinder. It also only failed because Salem never bothered to tell Cinder about her one weakness as a Fall Maiden so that Cinder could be defeated by Ruby’s Silver Eyes.
There’s also everything brought up here.
1. Proof they had negative emotions CONSTANTLY?
2. Except they’re all shown clearing out the Grimm around them so...
3. But Cadder! They do! After all, RWDE loves to cite how they ‘go after’ animals.
4. Hm, would have known that it works like a trained reflex if you watched the show.
5. Well, it’s not like Cinder jut needed a bad match up or is shown hacking the syste-Oh wait,,,,
Gee, three mystery people or one demigod? I would the demigod would think to win.
Hm, almost like CInder’s arrogance was a character flaw eh?
6. ‘Yes let me cite this source to a Tumblr blog, they totally wouldn’t lie right?’
To be fair, one could argue that Miles already knows how to fill these plot holes and just plans on doing it later. I’d counter that he has already stated that he has terrible memory and out of all of these questions, the only one that’s been answered is the Maiden’s connection with the Relics.
And I’d counter that you still blame Miles for Jaune even as Kerry has stated otherwise so you have a proven bias against him.
Hence the second half of that sentence: With no self awareness. It’s often stated that RWBY just uses those cliches as a jumping ground to later subvert them. It doesn’t. If anything, the longer RWBY’s gone on, it only becomes more cliche. And yeah, cliches aren’t a bad thing, when utilized correctly. But right now, we have a light vs. dark McGuffing hunt where our main character has this super awesome superpower that can defeat the bad guys fueled by love and friendship when our characters hardly interact with each other or build up their friendships. And this is done without an ounce of self-awareness or anything to make the premise more compelling.
Oh so? ... Oh wait, it;s just an opinion. And what was it you said? ‘Can’t fight an opinion with an opinion’? Funny how you forget..
If you view making a show like baking a cake, then most of these cliches are the sugar; and it doesn’t matter how much sugar you pour in, if you forget the baking soda, your cake isn’t going to rise.
And if you view RWDE as a bunch of flat earthers: Continuously saying something doesn’t make it true.
Xiaolin Showdown, another series that could be considered a McGuffing hunt, has more intrecate characters and multiple factions warring it out for the Shen-Gong-Wu, and more intricately crafted stories. It’s not just ‘Go to place, find thing.’ There are also often hurdles the characters need to face, be them external conflicts with the bad guys and the unique games they have to play for the Shen-Gong-Wu, or internal conflicts, such as spats with other characters or emotional conflicts.
Gotcha.
Oh that show where the usually useless sidekick character meant for comic relief ends up being the only person able to save the day in an episode only for this instance to never come up again? or what about the generically evil witch? Or the bumbling bad guy whose actually a huge threat in a future timeline? Or the Big Bad beings sealed away instead of being destroyed because plot? Or what about the leader being someone who has been at this for years and yet is treated just the same as the newcomers because ‘different viewpoints’? Or what about the elements being Fire,Water, Wind and Earth with Fire being high energy, Water being sagely, Wind being a hotshit and Earth being serious and bulky?
Funny how you forget all THOSE cliches.
Sorry Cadder, should probably choose something else. Xiaolin Showdown was one of my favorite shows growing up and I remember a lot of it clearly. And you’re not smart enough to be able to defend it like I can.
Well, I’m not seeing a counter argument, and the cases for queer-baiting are pretty self evident, just look at all the times they’ve made jokes about White Rose or Bumblebee in the show. It took them five years of empty promises and excuses to actually give us some LGBT representation, and it was the Psycho-Lesbian trope.
And Xiaolin Showdown made jokes about cliches-Welp, better go shit on that then Cadder. Now now, no one’s gonna get better if you don’t ignore how jokes poke fun at things.
Gee, not really an empty promise if it comes true eh? And oh my, the lesbian is a psycho but the straight guy whose an actual psycho you defend is A-Ok? Hm, sounds like someone’s biased...
Well, let’s see:
Jaune Arc: Cheats his way into Beacon and doesn’t do any of the work in order to actually become the hero he claims he wanted to be. When offered help, he gets mad and explodes at the person who offered it. Continuously tried to convince Weiss to go out with him and refused to take ‘no’ for an answer. When confronting Neptune, he treated her more as a prize to be won than an actual person. Was the only one to mourn Pyrrha’s death in Volume 4 and, because he couldn’t keep his emotions in check, got into a fight with Cinder in Volume 5, stealing Ruby’s big conflict with her and inadvertently getting Weiss impaled. Now, that all wouldn’t be too bad on its own, but he never faces any repercussions for it. Far from it, most of the time, he got rewarded in some way.
Ozpin manipulated our main characters into doing his bidding, brushed off Ironwood’s ideas and suggestions and continued to rely on his students who were still in training to get the job done. This never worked, yet he is continually presented as a wise mentor who knows what’s best. He also shows no concern for the 14-year-old boy he is slowly overtaking and assimilating. He lies to his allies, kept secrets from them, and from volumes 1 to 3, it felt like he was making a bad situation worse. He also needed to use an ultimatum in order to convince Pyrrha to become the Fall Maiden, giving her no other alternative than ‘Everyone dies.’
Qrow is a perverted alcoholic with no self control who destroys military property and humiliates Winter for no other reason than ‘why not’ and gets away with it. He shows no sympathy for Yang in Volume 3 after the Vytal Tournament incident, even calling her crazy when she explains what happened, and uses team RRNG as bait for Tyrian.
Weiss was a racist prick who never apologized for any of the things she said in Volume 1.
Sun stalked Blake all the way to Beacon and Managery, and seemingly can’t get away from his teammates fast enough.
Yang destroyed Junior’s bar in the yellow trailer because he didn’t give her the information he didn’t have and assaulted several men who were just trying to do their jobs, and even encouraged Jaune’s pursuit of Weiss.
Gee-
Not only is most of this lies (Jaune is treated as in the wrong most of the time, Ruby mourned Pyrrha in Volume 4, Jaune treating Weiss as a prize is your opinion as many others (especially women) disagree, Jaune was treated as in the wrong for exploding at Pyrrha and had to apologize, Ruby did a bunch of things in Vlolume 5 while Jaune did nothing.
Ozpin brushed him off because Ironwood DIRECTLY CAUSED the Fall Of Beacon due to his fuck ups, he’s succeeded far more times than fails, he has no choice where he reincarnates, He’s never shown DIRECTLY lying, he keeps giving Pyrrha outs, he was treated as in the wrong for keeping secrets, that’s an opinion and he had no otehr choice,
Qrow’ shown to be pervy in a joke (remember something similar happening in Xiaolin Showdown. Hmmm), he’s treated as in the wrong for that, he directly contradicts that and tries helping Yang and he didn’t know about Tyrian.
And yet you ignore her character development (despite someone in Xiaolin Showdown being responsible for resurrecting THE BAD GUY)
Not stalking
Yeah, criminals doing criminal shit! Oh and proof? No, RWBY chibi doesn’t count.)
But wouldn’t one say that these intentional flaws are there to make the characters INTERESTING? SO which is it? Interesting character or Sympathetic? Can’t choose both you showed they’re mutually exclusive in your eyes.
That’s… That’s not how stories work. For instance:
Instead of going to combat schools like Signal, like our main character Ruby did, Jaune instead cheated his way into Beacon to become the heroes his family was while putting in none of the work for it. He was also never told anything about the world around him, like Aura, Semblance, ect, when those things are incredibly common and there’s no reason to assume the rest of the world wouldn’t know about them. It’s not like Huntsmen and Huntresses are a secret.
Ozpin is implied to have accepted Ruby into Beacon because of her silver eyes, yet never thinks to train her with the damn things!
Despite wanting nothing to do with the feud between Ozpin and Salem, Raven steals the Spring Maiden’s powers and was fully intending to take the Relic of Knowledge until Yang pointed out how stupid that was.
Ironwood made a robot that is capable of generating Aura, yet instead of telling the populous or even Ozpin about this, he instead keeps it under wraps as he entered her into the Vytal Tournament, which one could argue was to test Penny’s abilities, but with the way it was presented, it felt more like he was trying to cheat.
And then there are all the humans working with Salem, despite seemingly getting nothing out of it. It’s even worse for Hazel, who’s sister was probably killed by a Grimm, yet he’s now working with the Grimm’s ruler.
So Cadder- How do you rewire the electrical system for a house? How do you repair a TV? How do you replace plumbing? Hm, you don’t know? Gee, it’s almost li8ke you have to *gasp* go to school for this!
And yet he says it’s because of her skill with the scythe. Hm, you reject both show AND tell....
Gee, not like that’s a character flaw stated to be in Raven-OH WAIT.
Gee, not like Ironwood is paranoid or somethi-OH WAIT,
Hmmm, not like *gasp* that could be elaborated on in the future! Or that hazel is DIRECTLY STATED to be a grieving mess who is shown to not be logical.
And even then, we don’t judge things based on what they could be. We don’t judge things based on what they claim to be. We don’t judge things based on what they’re going to be. We judge things based on what they are right now. Yeah, the reasons for this stuff could be explained later, it could also not be explained later.
So I’m just gonna go ahead and judge you based on your first word in each sentence.
Cinder Fall’s plan required absolutely no student from Haven to realize that they were never at that school. Nobody realizes that the girl who supposedly left with the injured student was still in the audience. Amber never thought to run away from her fight with Cinder, despite having clear chances to do so. Emerald used her illusion powers to steal mere trinkets and food, when it had the potential to turn her into one of the greatest thieves Remnant has ever known. It also required for Ozpin, who know she would be attacking, to not do anything about it like Ironwood suggested. I have an entire fanfiction pointing out how, if Beacon was a little smarter, Cinder would have failed a dozen times over, and very few of my scenarios have been dis-proven by recent information.
Proof that anyone WOULD ask about them?
Proof that Emerald didn’t hide herself?
Stated character flaw for Amber.
Emerald’s not amoral, she did what she had to for survival.
Not like Ironwood’s paranoid.
And you’re a proven liar, so why should we care?
The Maiden’s who didn’t exist until after Volume 2, Ruby’s silver eyes which were only brought up once, the relics that were never foreshadowed, most of Cinders plans, Raven being the Spring Maiden, shall I continue? I might as well not, the entire tag is filled with this stuff.
Not an asspull, that’s a deus ex machina, Ozpin’s vault, numerous Tumblr posts disagree since you think they’re valid. And please do, I love making you look like a corrupt fuckwad.
Ruby’s silver eyes at the end of Volume 3, the ships to Mistral at the end of Volume 4, the train that Oscar was able to take at the end of Volume 4, one could argue Penny at the end of Volume 1.
Everyone else said it first, basic logic says there should be patrols, INTERkingdom travel is locked down and Penny was foreshadowed.
No, most shows have each episode end with a sense of finality and complete the story each episode is telling. Avatar: The Last Airbender is known for its tight continuity, and I can only think of one cliffhanger from that series. RWBY, meanwhile, never feels like it’s finishing a single story for each season, and it feels more like the only way the writers will expect the FNDM to continue watching is if they never finish the story as opposed to actual investment.
Yeah...except Avatar tried pulling ‘the hero is totes dead ya guys!’ so it should be consider worse in your regard.
Cinder Fall from Volumes 1 to 3, see four paragraphs above.
You mean the woman whose been repeatedly insulted and shamed?
Pyrrha Nikos, arguable Ruby Rose, Cinder Fall again.
Dead, bullshit, shamed.
Jaune Arc, Qrow Branwen, Ozpin, Sun, through affiliation with Cinder - Mercury.
Characetr with the least respect
Open drunk
Purposefully flawed leader
Called out on his shit
Being Sub-servant.
Here’s a rather big one. What about the comparisons that can be drawn between the Grimm and the Titans from Attack on Titan? What about the school of adventure trope that has been done to death by the likes of Harry Potter and Soul Eater? How’s about the fact that you can draw more parallels between RWBY Volume 4 and Final Fantasy Advent Child than you could on a graph in an average math class? What about how the Maidens are pretty much the Avatar but quadrupled? Or how’s about the fact that Ozpin is a poor-man’s Dumbledore?
What about the Titans and teh demons from Berserk?
What about the hundreds of other works BEFORE Soul Eater and Harry Potter?
Proof and no, YHH’s doesn’t count.
Cept they don’t need training, their powers aren’t used by otehr characters and a fuckton of powers are like this
Except Dumbledore was never directly called out on his shit nor revived from the dead.
Gee, didn’t cliches meant rip off.
https://youtu.be/RccCIHwM5ow?t=1196
There’s also the fact that in Volume 4, puddles of mud were supposed to be regular puddles.
How’s about the entire BMBLB incident, where Miles had no knowledge of the existence of the song, and Jeff Williams claimed his songs had no meaning?
This stuff isn’t a secret, people have talked about this stuff extensively. How the fuck do I know more about the production of RWBY than a supposed fan?
Slicksickman who has an open grudge against Miles: disregarded
Proof.
They’ve always done that.
Except none of this fits your argument so....
There’s called plot holes, this is how you get them.
AKA ‘google my proof’
How’s about the fact that Yang runs into a situation to save Blake for Adam, and her reward is a chopped off arm, post-traumatic stress, and mockery from her father, where as Jaune rushes into a situation because he can’t keep his hate boner for Cinder in check, and Weiss gets impaled for it, only for him to unlock his semblance, heal her, and no one gives him any crap for what he just did? There’s a double whammy here, Weiss gets injured for something Jaune did, and Jaune doesn’t face consequences despite doing pretty much the same thing as Yang.
Except that Weiss being impaled IS Jaune’s punishment.
Taiyang made on joke (but yang openly insulting him? A-okay!)
Or hows about the above moment for Jaune, but when Salem goes through a series of responses so akin to the five stages of grieve I’d be more surprised if it was unintentional than if it was, and the narrator and by extension the writers try to paint her as a complete monster with absolutely no one blaming the gods?
Because Jaune didn’t try tricking immortal beings and he admitted to his flaws ad was treated as in the wrong?
Dumbass, the RWDE tag has more citations for this stuff than a Wikipedia article!
And your citations so far have been INVALID.
More like Conservation.
An action packed series that rarely had any action and for a whole volume had most of the main cast talking in circles as well as sitting in circles.
LGBT representation as promised by Monty Oum, only for it to take five years before we had so much as one confirmed homosexual.
A show that focuses on four girls that kick ass until Jaune walked on screen.
A monster hunter series where the monster hunting aspect hasn’t been relevant since Volume 1.
The show began with talking and was mostly talking.
Never said when.
Jaune’s relevance is TIED to one of the females
And I thought it was about four girls kicking ass.
I could say the entirety of the RWDE tag or just point to most of the points I’ve ready made, so I will!
*points to my blog*
Try again...
Well, as you loved to say: Citation Needed. Yeah, we make jokes at Miles’s expense, but then again, so did Nostalgia Critic about Micheal Bay and M. Night Shamalan, and Linkara about Frank Miller, Scott Ciencin, and Rob Liefeld. People rarely, if ever, get on their cases for it. Once again, there’s a difference between attacking a writer and making jokes about them.
Remember what i referenced before?
Nostalgia Critic using the dead:https://youtu.be/0EVOxDVSAfE?t=1949
You on using the dead: FUCK YOU, I KNEW MONTY BETTER THAN YOU YOU FUCKWADS! DO AS I SAY BECAUSE I KNEW MONTY FOR FIVE SECONDS!
The Nostalgia Critic earned my respect that day.
You and RWDE have earned my eternal ire.
Hey, I think I found a picture of you online:
Sorry everyone, Cadder accidentally posted a selfie.
1. All evidence to the contrary.
2. ‘Couldn’t’ You couldn’t give a shit if we liked the show or not. If you could give a shit about if we liked the show, that means you do care. I’m starting to notice a pattern, the people who love RWBY seemed to have failed their English classes.
1. You reject evidence so...
2. Says Mr. “ Managery “
1. Criticism is almost always a good thing, and seeing as to how Miles has at least attempted to improve his writing and address our criticisms, and that general condenses is that this Volume was better than the last, I think we very much are helping.
2. Why don’t you eat some film and put your talents as a projector to good use?
1. Except by your own statements, he didn’t.
And 2. Why don’t you use your talents as a sentient barrel of toxic waste to go pollute some wildlife. Only thing you’d ever be good at.

I was wondering if any [past or present] Jonerys, Pro-Daenerys fans like myself feel this way.....?
Firstly Id say please be nice i just enjoy analyzing the shit out of fandoms I like, (im a history/polysci major ((with an emphasis on Peace Justice and & Conflict Studies)) all i do is analyze and try to be diplomatic lmao) but considering all they petty drama between both ships as well as pro/anti Daenerys stans ON BOTH SIDES I’m going to be “That Person” and at least ask for people to be respectful/civil, I want to hear from everyone and their metas/what they think which is why i tagged like, all the tags, no matter if you love her/the ship or cant stand it, as long as everyone can keep civil So firstly I’ve loved Dany both books and show from the beginning. She’s gorgeous, wants to be the best person she can be, and her hair/fashion style game is always ON POINT. That being said, somewhere around season 5 i think i’ve found my opinion on her cooling a little bit, ep after ep, till now. Like I still like her bc she was my first character love on the show but I’ve def soured in my opinion on her. Maybe it’s because I love learning about the subject that im more baised (im hoping thats the case) but she just seemed to have no interest in actual governance, just the reputation (esp of being the ‘rebel queen’)/the awe/the power/the thrill of the adoration that went along with it to the point where I feel like though she still wants to be a ‘good queen’ or at least wants to be seen that way, she doesnt want to do much work for the title. Like yeah she freed all the slaves and that was a def progressive and awesome move on her part (major props! slavery is sin and im glad someone recognized that who had the power to do something about it) but she didnt handle that aftermath or ensuing problems well at all nor really mulled heavily on the subject to find the best solution. She just got fustrated with pretty basic/common (albeit complex in themselves) issues of standard governance and kind of went agh! fuck this! (obv not actual quotes but that was the vibe I got). And then ESPECIALLY after season 7 her character has kind of nagged at me in the back of brain which i hate but its inherent like its just a feeling i cant help it?? I just dont know why to be honest that Im feeling so negative towards this character i used to love. The whole ‘ bEnD thE knEe ‘ thing w/ Jon and yet pinning it on Jon’s pride not equally on his and her own was more than a little hypocritical, when hon they can discuss it later like at that point they have two common enemies the WW and Cersei they both want to do away with, and then again with the Bend the Knee or Die bit w/ the Lannister soldiers. In fact the whole sequence before that point felt kind of villinous I dearsay, I mean deliberately burning the harvest that most of westeros needs for the winter or even strategically not willing to try, and well, nOOt intentionally burn the food considering its winter, the harvest is over (so likely not much is gonna grow in the time being) when she has a G I A N T ass army of her own to think of feeding???? Like i get it is war shit happens soldiers die but the F O O D ? Was that an impuslive in the moment mistake or did she just not give a fuck? And back to the aftermath scene/Bend the Knee 2.0, her speech was again quite hypocritical...and burning dickon?????? not willing to keep prisoners???? either bend or die??? I actually am glad she did away with Papa Tarly bc he was an awful human, but dickon????? a young idealistic man about to loose his father??? the heir to a major ally/house???? And honestly that bend or die strategy is soooooo dumb bc now she cant trust any of them like theyre only bending the knee out of self preservation homie, no one wants to die. they bend the knee to survive and now they all of the sudden think youre their queen? Nah fam, prisoners were better, all you got are spies in your camps or people willing to backstab you at the smallest promise of coin. And i dont want that for my girl
IDK the whole “im gonna BREAK THE WHEEL,,,,,,,,yet im stating my claim mainly on my housename (aka the predominant force of said wheel for a literal dynasty) and the fact that i can scare people who otherwise are unconvinced bc lets be real westeros has had a bad run of rulers a lot of which were Targs in the past couple decades, into submission bc ill burn you otherwise???” doesnt sit well with me nor does it feel like the character ive been rooting for the past five-ish seasons. She just doesnt seem to put into effort on understanding Westeros, why things go wrong, being self-critical or sharing the blame, thinking on what a “good” ruler would do.... anyone else feeling this way and if so do you think this is just shitty writing? D&D butchering her character? or a new arc for her? perhaps the way shes always been? She just seems like a tantruming child bratty and entitled idk (a beautiful child but still) As for jonerys...... im not gonna go into it much but how are other shippers happy????????? I honestly dont understand. I was SO looking forward to this season/this ship. like so much! But it felt so forced? And i know a lot of people claim its cause its rushed but tbh we’ve had a lot of romances in a similar time frame that felt like A C T U A L romances.....even Talisa/Robb who the Northerners will prob compare any of this too were so much better. THIS WAS MY EPIC SHIP DUDE. I feel the dany side of things (took a while but theres def heart eyes) and yet Jon???? He felt hollow. Still does even after sex. Im so disapointed but more than that I cant see the romance or the chemistry. He looks constipated. Hes never smiled like with his teeth around her the way hes done w others he cares deepily about (ygritte, toramund, sansa, even fkin gendry in the first scene they had together). He never reveals anything about himself. And between the “my queen” ep (and remember he was look warm when discussing her to toramund throughout it) and the previous the only thing that changed was that he saw the actual difference dragons made against WW. You could argue she saved them all too but that doesnt make you fall in love w someone out of the blue and also people have saved his ass before and??? Sansa w the vale anyone??? (Not an argument for jonsa js its happened) (though ill admit ive transitioned to loathing jonerys and loving jonsa more as a potential couple in the space of seven eps where if you asked me I wouldve been like PSH u cray. I never thought it would happen in a mill years but D&D ruined my ship and here i am! Shipping aside tho since its best too look at these things as neutral as possible). Anyways the sigh of his after she left and when he pretended to be asleep.... idk. The only scene that felt genuine and where Jon smiled and it didnt look like a full on grimace and they actually kinda joked around was really nice and at the pit at the finale and if they do a LOT more of basic romance stuff like that I could ship it again but. It was followed by boatsex and boy. I was hoping boatsex might rekindle my like for the two together. I could see the chemistry the passion. I was hoping the passion would overwhelm me and make up for the rest. But instead......like there was no foreplay, it lasted 2 seconds, and it was overplayed by brans voice and a reminder of future conflict or at the very least major angst b/w the two. i didnt see the parallel between regear and lyanna playing alongside their scene as anything romantic or that it should be taken as such. and the look they shared.... I was hoping jon would bring it bc Dany’s look in her eyes is like soooo smitten and adorable and say what you will I still have a space in my heart for her and still dont want her to suffer, but again Jon looks like oh shit/constipated. And not in a good oh shit way either. There is a bunch more too but Imma stop there bc Im just tired at this point. So many things were just....off this season. And it cant all be blamed on the “rushed” time frame. I’ve read the undercover lover theory and hon it makes the most sense (not perfect sense but still, more than what we’ve been poorly spoon fed) but im not willing to believe it just yet. Still, maybe D&D are just butchering a lot of things like making the romance believable and stuff for the sake of time that could be true i guess. But they like to go AHA GOT U so Idk I dont find a lot of meta in the jonerys tag bc honestly (((((i think its bc the tag and ship are more popular and theirs more people both good and bad)))) it doesnt seem like snowballing theories is something all fans take really well in the tag at all. But whatever. I really want to know, is there any meta or theories im missing to either validate the icky feeling Im haveing about D or her “romance” or on the flipside anything that might make me change my mind about it? Theories, meta people! I just want to reiderate im not trying to hate on anyone or any point of view and I will flag any comment anti one ship or person or another if its plain hateful or rude. I just want to understand it and see what Im missing, esp because of how much I was looking forward to her arc and jonerys’ dynamic and how much the words “falling short” dont seem to cover it. And to see if im not the only one to either have critique on the ship or her character [or even actually change ships] Also i apologize for how much ive said “IDK” i just..... I DONT KNOW
#this was way longer and is so rantish but#i might delete this later#depending on if i get hate for 'daring' to be critical#for now tho help a girl out? tel me your opinion? thx#jonsa#anti-jonsa#anti-jonerys#daenerys targaryen#anti-daenerys#plz be nice to eachother or just dont interact at all i just like knowing every side of things#and i feel like theres a side im missing or something im missing#i have a lot of feelings

Time Heist - Doctor Who blog
(SPOILER WARNING: The following is an in-depth critical analysis. If you haven’t seen this episode yet, you may want to before reading this review)
Oh God, Stephen Thompson is writing this. No. Worse. Stephen Thompson and Steven Moffat are writing this! Heaven preserve us!
Well everyone can relax. Time Heist isn’t as bad as The Curse Of The Black Spot or Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS. In fact Time Heist is actually surprisingly good. Well... it’s good up to a point, but we’ll come to that.
It’s a great premise. The Doctor and Clara are joined by augmented human Psi and shapeshifter Saibra to rob the bank of Karabraxos. The most secure bank in the galaxy. It’s a brilliant opening with some proper sci-fi in it. (I particularly like the little detail of using your breath to open code locked doors). And then there’s of course the Teller. LOVE it! It’s a great design for one thing and its powers are incredibly scary. It can sense your guilt and turn your brain into soup. Very creepy, although sadly undermined by the image of those people with their heads flattened. Ms Delphox puts them on display as a warning, but all it did was just make me snigger. Come on, you have to admit they do look just a little bit silly.
I also really like Ms Delphox, played by Keeley Hawes. While she does unfortunately get saddled with Moffat’s dominatrix dialogue and persona just like all of Moffat’s other female characters do, Hawes does such a good job in the role and really makes the part her own. She has such an authoritative presence on screen and is clearly having a lot of fun in the role. I particularly like how Delphox isn’t just evil for the sake of being evil. Due to the bank’s ultra strict security system and protocols, if Delphox fails to catch the robbers, she will be incinerated by her boss. It’s something different, which is nice.
Time Heist has a really good pace, Everything zips along very nicely and I was glued to the screen for the most part. I also really liked the characterisation. Top of the class is of course Peter Capaldi. He’s absolutely brilliant in this episode, capturing the Doctor at his very essence. Despite the fact Psi and Saibra know absolutely nothing about him and have no reason to trust him or take orders from him, the Doctor is able to take charge using the sheer force of his intellect and personality. Peter Capaldi is the Doctor. I also loved the scene where he rebukes Psi for accusing him of being cold and emotionless about Saibra’s ‘death.’ The Doctor has always been one to prioritise the job at hand over mourning the loss of someone, but this Doctor really doesn’t wish to be bogged down in sentimentality. Nine and Ten often express their grief with a brief sorry before moving on, whereas Twelve seems to prefer to keep it all to himself and just get on with things. He may seem uncaring, but his face when he’s walking away from Psi speaks volumes. He does care very deeply. He just doesn’t want to express it. The other characters are good as well. Out of the two I think I like Psi more. Johnathan Bailey does a really good job in the role and I like his motive for breaking into the bank. Wanting to reclaim the lost memories of his friends and family. And the scene where he sacrifices himself to save Clara was very effective. Saibra was good too and Pippa Bennett-Warner gives a good performance, but her motivation is a bit weak. Okay, I get the whole thing about shapeshifting every time she touches someone, but what’s the deal with this line:
“How could you trust someone who looked back at you out of your own eyes?”
Wha... What does that mean exactly? It sounds like typical pretentious Moffat bullshit to me.
Also Clara is pointless. Seriously, why is she even here? What role does she play? The Doctor is clearly the leader (and secretly the Architect). Psi is the hacker. Saibra is the shapeshifter. What’s Clara’s role? She’s not even the Doctor’s moral compass like in Into The Dalek. She’s basically just tagging along for the ride. If there was ever an episode that perfectly demonstrated how utterly useless and one dimensional Clara really is, it’s this one.
Yeah, I suppose I can’t put this off any longer. While there are large portions of Time Heist I did enjoy, a lot of the episode is sadly hampered by Moffat and Thompson’s usual sloppiness. Since we’ve just been talking about the characters, let’s talk about the ‘exit strategy.’ Presumably a way for the characters to painlessly kill themselves should the Teller discover them. A very dark idea, but also a completely ineffectual one thanks to its execution. If you’ve seen any sci-fi ever, you’ll know what a teleport looks like, and the fact that the effect we see when Saibra and Psi use the shredders look suspiciously like teleports does negatively impact the tragedy of their ‘death’ scenes because, in the back of your head, you’re wondering where they’ve gone off too and when they’ll be coming back. But even if you didn’t pick up on that, it still doesn’t work because their surprise return effectively undermines their sad and touching deaths in order for Moffat to pull a ‘gotcha’ moment.
Then there’s the Architect. Who here honestly thought he wasn’t the Doctor? It’s such a painfully obvious twist. He’s a time traveller, like the Doctor. He has access to memory worms, like the Doctor. They even chuck in a massive clunker of a clue by having the Doctor outright state he hates the Architect. Since when has the Doctor ever said that about anyone? He can’t even admit he hates the Daleks for fuck sake. The only possible person he could be referring to is himself, at which point you soon realise that this episode isn’t about a bank heist at all. It’s yet another episode that’s all about the Doctor, this time about his self loathing and manipulative tendencies. And it actually reduces the stories of Psi, Saibra and the Teller because you realise that the only purpose they serve is to shine a light on the Doctor. Loneliness bad, companionship good. This is the fifth story in a row that has focused exclusively on the Doctor. Anymore and the show is seriously at risk of disappearing up its own vortex. Why can’t the episode have just been about the Doctor breaking into a bank and saving Mr and Mrs Teller? I like that idea. It’s something different and it’s a very Doctorly motivation for breaking into a bank. Why does everything have to be so inwardly focused nowadays? I don’t mind the odd episode that explores the Doctor’s character (provided it’s done well), but this is taking the piss.
And then there’s all the plot contrivances. For the most secure bank in the galaxy, its security is unbelievably shit. Putting aside the almost comically oversized vents that anyone can comfortably crawl through, how come the guards seem to be searching for the intruders everywhere but near the fucking Vault where the valuables are kept? You’d think Delphox would post a couple at the door or something just in case. And what about the scene where the Doctor and Clara are captured? Before Delphox set the Teller on a random person that was just guilty for a crime he was about to commit. But with the Doctor and Clara, Delphox decides to take the Teller away for a little nap and let the guards deal with them instead. Why? But what really spoils Time Heist completely are the two gaping plot holes at the centre of the narrative.
The first is the solar storm. This is the only time the bank is vulnerable, but it’s also the only time the TARDIS can’t land. Well... why don’t you just land the TARDIS at a time when there isn’t a solar storm? The Doctor said it himself at the beginning. Robbing a bank is easy if you’ve got a TARDIS. In fact I’m assuming that was how he planted all the briefcases. If he could do that, why not just materialise the TARDIS right inside the Private Vault, grab Mr and Mrs Teller and go? You wouldn’t even need to bother with the memory worms. The second plot hole is Madame Karabraxos (also played by Keeley Hawes). So what sets all of this in motion is a dying Karabraxos from the future phoning the Doctor and begging him to save the Tellers. The entire plot hinges on the Doctor giving her his phone number and then just hoping she’ll miraculously grow a conscience and realise what a horrible, selfish bitch she was when she has no reason to. (yes i know there’s the whole self loathing thing with the clones, but that’s really not good enough. It also doesn’t make any sense. if you hate yourself so much, why would you create clones of yourself in the first place?) It’s also completely reliant on Karabraxos not losing the phone number, except why in God’s name would she keep it? At this moment in time, she has no reason to take the Doctor seriously yet and clearly has no interest in redemption just yet, so why hang on to the phone number? It’s absolute nonsense.
Like I said, there are a few things about Time Heist I liked and I did enjoy it to a point, but what ultimately holds it back from greatness is Thompson’s usual ineptness when it comes to basic storytelling as well as Moffat once again putting more effort into trying to outsmart the audience and prove how clever he is rather than writing something that’s actually satisfying and worthwhile. Overall, good idea, but sloppy execution.

Randomly saw your post about Elongated man. Just a comment, no hate of your opinion as you're very much entitled to it, but do you think maybe they bring in an unlikable sexist character like this not for you to immediately like, but as a statement for growth? We've already seen in his short appearance in the show a capacity for change. There's a lot of idiots like that in the world, but they don't have to stay idiots and that's what the character can show us. (I hope) Give him time.
Nah, I don’t think so, we’re supposed to see his msogynistic comments and straight up harassment as funny, because our heroes are not calling him on that or acting like his behavior is a big deal (it is a big deal) so we’re not supposed to think it’s that bad. It makes our heroes complicit in misogyny because the show doesn’t think misogyny is that bad - they are not criticizing Ralph’s behavior or taking it seriously, obviously, in a show where in the same episode we had a Hugh Hefner stand in and they thought it was so fucking funny, a show that so often pulls the “adorkable misogynist” trope, a show where women are usually sidelined and defined by their relationships withmen, etc… The Flash is a sexist show, so no, I don’t think they are making any kind of important point with this toxic character.
The guy has already crossed a line, and the characters have not called him out on that, rather they acted like his disgusting behavior is a minor annoyance that just makes them roll their eyes, instead of telling him he’s not allowed to spew that garbage or treat women like that. It’s for comedic effect. Barry talked to him seriously about how he should prioritize victims over catching culprits and that was the arc of the episode, but he didn’t comment on his misogyny so we’remeant to believe Barry is okay with having that kind of behavior in Team Flash. Ok.
And even if they had brought him on for growth it’s gross, white male characters on fiction can be as disgusting as they want and then get a million chances to “grow”, that’s how the kyriarchy perpetuates itself. Say no to that crap.
We don’t have to learn to give shitty white dudes a second or third chances. The whole history of fictions has conditioned so that we do exactly that. We have to unlearn that behavior. We have to learn to prioritize the victims of shitty white dudes over their “right” to grow at the expense of others, and at the expense of spreading toxic ideas.
There’s a million stories about white male assholes changing for good (while everybody around them either have to bear with the hurt for the sake of their growth or actively have to do emotional labor for them), do we need another one? No, we don’t. Those stories only teach us to give a pass to abhorrent behavior and to minimize the pain of the victims so that some white dude can “grow”. Nah, we shouldn’t give him time, we’ve already seen this shit in every other show and it’s brainwashing us. We need to stop acting like this is not harmful just because the show wants to pass it as “humor”, it’s harmful and toxic and in light of the discoveries of what kind of environment the DCTV verse operates in it’s truly disturbing. It’s disturbing how fandom doesn’t consider it serious.
Which, it’s the other point. In a fandom wthat often villanizes people of color and/or women when they have done absolutely nothing wrong I’m not about to give a shit about the millionth “this gross white dude is actually a hero” arc especially when the character already has a bunch of people willing to track down every negative comment made about him and tell people they are not allowed to discuss the shows’s misogyny in the main tags.
Like, idk anon, I hope you have sent messages to every person who puts posts about how Iris West should die in the main tags, and you haven’t just come to defend a misogynistic white dude in other people’s inboxes. Because if not, the fact that fandom can go to bat so hard for a sexist white male we’ve known for two episodes but no one gives a shit about the calls to kill off the black female lead of the show… well, that’s the worst part of it all.

Hey drama queen, I posted that because I saw your post trashing on people fic just because of the tag. To be honest, I only want to take criticism from a reader who actually read my fic, not from someone who only read the title and then assume that the fic is trash. I tagged it as r*pe because of a scene where a female oc forced herself on Shun, it was still r*pe because it was against his will, and Hajime didn't involve in it. So is that abusive to you? What I just want to say is read the fic before jumping to conclusions.

^^^^ i think this was a submission? Idk but it was anonymous
Anyways heres my response
.
Hahah hey guys I dont like it when ppl dont appreciate me making the characters you love go through traumatic events and if they express they hate it when i force their characters to be r*ped for the sake of my fic i make passive aggressive posts and then send you anon messages bc im, obviously, in the right.
Dude write what you want but you are literally insane since u legit said writing is boring without forcing a character to be r*ped. As someone who has been r*ped an uncountable number of times-- fuck you. Someones life story can be 1000000% wonderful without having it happen to them. Idc WHAT context you put it in! You're garbage! Its one thing I DONT have to read the fic to know youre just shitty. Being r*ped isnt something that is necessary for character development in a character where it never canonically happened, nor is it necessary for the development of a future relationship. In fact its more likely to ruin the characters future relationships.
Just shut the fuck up i blocked you on like 2 accounts after you followed me just to vague me. You obviously just wanna start drama and youre looking for some spice in your life but im not here to provide it. Go hide in your little r*pe romanticism hidey hole and stay away from me.
.
Call me whatever names you want, this is the reaction from someone who had ACTUALLY gone through it. Its not all sparkles and rainbows and you can come out of having it happen to you just fine. No. Thats not how it works. And I didnt write any type of constructive criticism for anyones r*pe fics bc hey guess what? I didnt read them! Bc i dont need to be reminded of what happened to me when i was 8 / 12 / 15. Neither do a TON of other readers. We dont gotta read to know we wont like it. And we are fully allowed to express displeasure in the majority of our fav ships fics having r*pe in it. And p.s. my notes about abusive wasnt because of your fic im guessing, THERES LITERALLY TONS OF HAJISHUN FICS THAT HAVE BOTH R*PE AND ABUSE. MULTIPLES. NOT JUST YOURS. I NEVER EVEN PAID ATTENTION TO YOU SPECIFICALLY. In fact I'd say idk you but i recognize your name but ive never done anything more than glaze over the tags of your fics and scroll away. I had nothing against u bc ik ur allowed to write w.e u want. I just knew id never read any of your fics. But now youre out here making passive aggressive posts and making it obvious you wanted me to see them, and sending me dumb anon shit littered with stupid insults. When you didnt even understand the point of my post. And youre baselessly thinking im "attacking" you or someshit. No i expressed a negative emotion about a broad range of fics which have triggering subjects that have been posted over time ever since I joined the fandom, and its only increased lately.
But no. I wont read ANYTHING with r*pe or abuse, ever, bc it will inherently be triggering and most likely garbage to me. If you cant create conflict without traumatizing characters you just arent someone whose work id ever want to read. Post whatever but people are allowed to not like it. I never sent you or anyone else hate for it, but if i make a post on my own blog explaining my dislike / hatred for r*pe fics you have ABSOLUTELY NO reason to go out of your way to make passive aggressive posts directed specifically at me that you want me to see and send dumb anon shit. Im allowed to have negative opinions and it wasnt even directed at your bullshit specifically so fuck off.
#fucking disgusting#just fuck off#i literally can not explain in words how#utterly repulsive this is#submission#ask#asks#anon

I know I’ve said this before, but everyone gives white people too much credit
“White people invented the modern world” actually we just buried all the historical POC who invented the modern world and decided to just teach our kids about the white people but ok (not to mention, even if there are “statistically more white people [namely white men] who made significant contributions to history” that’s because 1. you’re not including the pre-industrial age people, because white people didnt exist for a really long fucking time, and 2. of?? course most of your inventors are going to be white men?? when you dont let girls go to school?? and you’re forcing people of any other race to work low-end jobs, either for nothing in return or just for the right to stay in the country??)
Having said that
“White people are intentionally sabotaging opportunities for POC and intentionally put poor minorities at risk” like I can’t speak for the government because honestly fuck the government, but most of us? We’re just really fucking dumb. Like I realize my experience isn’t going to be universal, and I’ll never deny the existence of white people who are proud to wear the label “white supremacist”, but most of us just...dont understand racism. Surely, because we’ve never been discriminated against based on our skin color, nobody else is discriminated against because of their skin color. Surely, even though i grew up in a middle-class neighborhood mostly surrounded by other white people, the only thing barring minority races in poor areas from making a living for themselves is their motivation. It’s not like the schools are trash in those areas, thus keeping the children from going anywhere in life. It’s just a matter of them having to work harder! That sounds intentionally malicious, but it’s legitimately how white conservatives think, a la my conservative father’s own thoughts.
And when it comes to white liberals, it gets even worse. Because a liberal is supposed to be adamantly anti-racism, but - with the exception of the fact that they’ve possibly heard more opinions from POC in the past - they’re just as clueless as any other white person. There’s no such thing as “not being like other whites”, but white liberals dont seem to get that a lot of the time. They think that because they dont see color, or because they’ve got black friends, or because they just don’t want to be racist, they aren’t able to do racist things.
Which brings me to my next point. Racism is often subconcious. Actions have racist consequences when you don’t intend them to. If a POC comes up to you and says “hey, you’re being racist” they’re saying (or should be saying*) that your actions are racist, not your thoughts. Because they dont know what’s going on inside your head. (* = I dont know what’s going on in a person’s head when they call you out for being racist. They may very well be accusing you of thinking racist things. But my point is that we should be saying that the actions are racist, because we can’t read each others’ minds and your intentions are irrelevant on a systemic level if you still perpetuate racism. Also “should” is a bad word because I dont want to police what other people say, but...actually no buts about it. I dont know how to word myself better, sorry)
Like, this was inspired by some thoughts I’ve had tumbling around my head for a while, but it was namely prompted by my confusion over some things I was reading in the S*U crit tag (asterisk to keep this from popping up in the tag, hopefully anyways). I dont find it my place to reply to the posts directly because I’d be speaking over POC and that’s not what I want to do at all, but i see a lot of people like...kinda imply the writers themselves are behind the racist implications in SU? Which...you can’t really accuse someone of being racist when you’ve never heard them talk about racial issues. I know SU tries to show representation of racial minorities and there’s a lot of debate whether they’re good at that or not (which btw im not going to address in this post; for the sake of this post just assume i agree with all the implications that have been pointed out, because honestly i dont know if i do or not but its not really my place to say “no thats not racist” anyways) but...a television show is created by dozens of people, critiqued by executives. Saying “Bismu*th and Sugi*lite prove that the crewn*iverse hates black people” just...seems odd to me. Maybe someone or multiple people working on the show are racists, I dont know, I haven’t met them. But the implication that every single person on the show is a racist, especially when its much more likely that they’re just misguided allies whose representation had negative consequences, just seems...not right. It simplifies the issue. When you say “this person did something that’s racist against black people, so they hate black people” you’re giving white people reason to believe that they could never be racist. If you equate perpetuating racism with intentionally perpetuating racism, you make it seem like most white people could never be racist, because a lot of white people don’t intentionally perpetuate racism. So then white people dont learn from their racist mistakes, because they must not be racist if they dont mean to be, right? (Btw im not saying all S*U crit people think the crewn*iverse is full of racists, but ive seen some posts imply that and im not sure if its just bad wording or an actual statement on their character...?)
Also if it sounds like im nitpicking, speaking on an issue i have no authority over, policing peoples’ words, or anything else, I’M REALLY SORRY. I want to be very clear that I am a dumb white as well. I’m exactly the kind of person I’m talking about in this writing, so if something seems wrong or racist or too simple about this post, please let me know. I’m kinda just philosophizing over here, but even more than that, I’m kinda...saying this for myself. To remind myself that if I do something, and someone shouts “THAT’S RACIST!!” I shouldn’t just dismiss it. Because as someone planning to be a television writer, especially one writing for children, I dont want to accidentally perpetuate racism, homophobia, or anything else. I know I’ll never get it perfect, I know there’ll always be something problematic about what I write, but I never want to forget the fact that people should be allowed to criticize and I should do my best to listen. My best won’t be perfect, but damn it, I can try, and I can keep myself from getting offended when people call me out when I fail.
#stormy speaks#racism#political bs#representation matters#tagging as that because of the last paragraph and also if i ever go through that tag in the future i might need to see this#anyways i censored all the words related to S*U because the last time i wrote the words crewn*iverse uncensored the vore acc found me#and i dont want this accidentally getting into the tags in general#im still getting likes from the time the vore account found me btw asdf why
