OK so like I just got an idea about Hollow Knight, been a while but hey we're here.

The Knight remembers the birthplace, right?? Like the egg contains the catalyst for remembering, and maybe parts of the memory, but an egg cannot remember, as it doesn't have a mind. But the egg, when dreamnailed, triggers that memory to come back up in the Knight.

That means that they can remember, and thus have a mind to think. If they can remember the long, dangerous climb, the glance back at them from their sibling, and the fall back down in the end, they can think.

Which means that I could further that logic to extend to the idea that they'll end up the same as the Hollow Knight, never truly hollow, and they'll become another catalyst for the Radiance's influence.

But what if they hear of another way to defeat the Radiance? One that involves intense trials their little body can barely handle for a while, but they prevail in the end. One that involves cutting the infection at the source. Godhome, and taking up the place of the Shade Lord. Sure, they lose their identity in the process, but they take on a new, more meaningful one.
