Tickletober Day 13: Win
Tumblr media
Fandom: Star Wars (Sequels)
Pairing: Rey, Finn, and Poe (platonic)
Summary: Poe didn't realize certain colonies celebrated the old Earth tradition of Halloween. And yet here he was being dragged along by the two people he considered to be his friends to see the "interesting" festivities in this small town.
Rey motioned as she rushed around the corner. "Come on!"
"You have to see this," Finn added as he pulled his friend forward.
"What are you two pulling me in to?" Poe asked.
"You'll see." Finn rushed over to where Rey was peeking out around a rock so she could see a nearby town.
When Poe looked out over the town, he saw dozens of beings dressed in garish, monster looking masks weaved through buildings. Street vendors offered up different small foods that resembled old Earth candy as small children rushed from one to the next. Alien looking fruit with faces carved into them were scattered around at different houses or strung between different buildings, giving them a very odd, spooky looking vibe.
Rey turned to her friends. "See?"
"Do you know what they're doing?" Finn asked.
"They're celebrating an old Earth tradition," Poe replied. "It's called Halloween. Didn't realize certain colonies in the outer rim still celebrated it."
"Are they celebrating something?"
"Kinda. Originally it started out as a way for people to scare off spirits when they thought the veil between our world and their's was separating. Now it's mostly just a holiday for people to dress up and eat a bunch of sugar."
Rey shifted closer. "Can we check it out?"
"Yes!" Finn turned to run.
Poe snagged his shoulder. "Wait. We can't just show up in the middle of their celebration. We'll just stick out like a sore thumb."
"You're right." Rey grinned. "We need masks."
"And costumes," Finn added.
Poe tried to stop the two from taking off, but they slipped away and down the hill. "Wait . . ."
Just as he was debating how to go about this, BB-8 rolled up by his side.
"What took you so long?"
BB-8 let out a stream of squeaks and whistles as a response.
"Yeah, yeah. Come on." Poe finally started down the hill. "Let's make sure they don't get themselves in trouble."
The two stepped out of the sandy terrain and in to the chaos of the town festivities. It sort of felt like stepping into an old Earth holo Poe used to watch. He almost forgot he was on a desert planet somewhere in the universe.
Suddenly, a figure jumped in front of him with a growl. They wore a red mask that had a huge open mouth with a few jagged yellow teeth and bulging eyes.
Poe held up his arms in a defense position until he realized who was in front of him.
Rey giggled as she peeked out from under her mask. "How do I look?"
"Disgusting."
"Perfect!" Her mask dropped back into place.
"Where'd Finn go?"
Rey pointed down further into the market. "He went that way to see the other masks."
Poe sighed. "Of course he did. You going to be alright?"
Rey nodded. "I'm going to go find a costume."
Before Poe could say anything, the Jedi disappeared back into the crowd.
BB-8 bumped into Poe's leg.
"I know. Let's go find him."
The two headed further into town, looking for any clue what the defected Stormtrooper was hiding as.
Just as they passed a nearby alleyway, Poe caught a glimpse of tan disappearing further down. Poe doubled back. "Hey Finn."
The figure continued walking down the alleyway.
So Poe started to follow it. "Finn . . . Finn!"
Yet, no matter how he yelled, the figure couldn't hear him over the crowd.
Poe continued to push his way forward as the figure kept moving forward. Finally, he disappeared down a set of stairs into a darkened area.
When the pilot went to follow, another figure stopped him. The alien creature shouted at him in a language Poe didn't understand, but his hand gestures got across that he didn't want BB-8 to follow.
"Sorry bud," the pilot told the droid. "You've got to stay here."
BB-8's head dropped to one side.
"I'll be right back. Just gotta make sure Finn doesn't get himself into any trouble."
Before the droid could respond, Poe was down the steps.
The further down he went, the louder the laughter became. Not just a joyful or crass laugh you'd hear at a bar. It was loud, maniacal laughter of what sounded like people loosing their minds.
At first, the pilot was confused at what was going on, until he entered a crowded room.
Several aliens crowded around three sets of chains where three creatures were shackled to poles. Behind them were three other alien creatures tickling them.
Poe's eyes widened at the interactions. It looked like the three were being tortured by tickling.
But why was the question.
However, the pilot didn't have long to wonder when two of the aliens sagged in their chains one right after the other.
The room erupted into chairs as the third alien was released.
His tormentor lifted the "victor's" hand. "The winner!"
After another round of cheers, several beings rushed to collect different types of credits. As they did, Poe was pushed further and further back until he bumped into a large figure.
The pilot whirled around. "Sorry---."
The larger figure grabbed Poe's wrist. "Challengers over here."
"Wait, what? I'm not---."
The larger alien shoved Poe forward. "Ladies and gentlemen! Our next three challengers are currently entering the ring!"
"I'm not a challenger." Poe tried to squirm out of the grip of the alien who caught his wrist. "I'm not a challenger!"
The pilot was completely ignored as he was wrestled into the middle shackles where they clamped into place.
Poe's nerves skyrocketed at his stretched out position. The shackles forced him to stand on his tip toes and limited how far he could squirm away.
"Bet you 15 credits he passes out," said an alien looming beside Poe.
"Hmmm, he looks sturdy enough." The second alien flew back. "I'll take that bet."
As the rest of the group formed, Poe desperately tried to pull free from his restraints.
The large alien from before stepped forward. "Our next contestants are ready for the challenge! Take a good look as you place your bets on who will last in the ring."
"I have a lot of credits resting on you." A voice hissed in Poe's ears before a tentacle appeared in his peripheral. "Better not let me down."
"No wait, you have to let me goho." The pilot already cursed the giggles bubbling up in his throat. "I'm not a contestant."
"The rules are simple. The contestant is tickled until they pass out. Last one standing wins."
"Cause that doesn't sound like torture," Poe muttered.
"Ticklers, on your marks."
Several tentacles came to rest on Poe's body. Two in his armpits, one wrapped around his hips, and one wrapped around his right leg.
Poe desperately tried to squirm away. "Wait---!"
"Get set."
"I'm not---."
"Tickle!"
Soon as the tentacles moved, the pilot desperately tried to hold in his laughter. However, he managed one grunt before the flood gates opened.
Poe threw back his head and cackled. It felt like those tentacles were squirming everywhere! They sucked, slid, and dragged over wherever they could reach.
Including Poe's hyper ticklish armpits. It felt like he was being zapped repeatedly as the two tentacles swirled and swirled and swirled.
"AH! NOHO PLEASE!" The pilot cried out. "IHI YIELD!"
"Not until you pass out." The tentacle around his middle poked along his sides. "And don't you even think of doing that."
Poe never wanted to slug someone as badly as the person behind him. If he ever got out of his chains, that alien was as good as dead.
Especially when he hit his knees.
Poe shrieked and tried to kick his leg out of the hold. The backs of his knees were another bad spot that had him in high pitched cackles in no times. A spot Rey loved to take advantage of.
"Is there a spot on you that's not ticklish?" The voice behind Poe teased.
"NO TEASIHING!"
"Not against the rules."
Poe tried to kick his leg behind him, but he couldn't make contact with the being behind me.
Instead, the tentacle around his middle started sliding down. "Getting a bit squirmy are we?"
"SHUHUHUHU---."
"Come on, use your words."
He would if he could.
"Aww, to tickly to respond?"
"SHUT UHUP!" Poe managed to spit out.
"Is that the best you can do?" The tentacle tugged on the pilot's shirt. "I've heard worse from those less ticklish than you."
Poe's eyes went wide as he felt his shirt slowly sliding up. "NO!"
Once it popped out of his pants, the tentacle slid under.
A giant squeal left Poe's mouth as the suckers on the tentacle crept along the bare skin of his torso.
"Someone got a ticklish tummy?"
The pilot snorted as he desperately tried to curl in half. The feeling of the suckers was like a bunch of tiny mouths working around his bare torso.
"Surprised you even leave the house being as ticklish as this. People may take advantage."
Poe went to retort when he felt the tip of the tentacle wiggle inside of his belly button while the suckers were still moving around.
And he lost it.
The pilot arched his back as his laughter somehow became even louder and higher pitched. The mix of armpit tickles, knee tickles, and belly button tickles were driving him insane. Yet the only hope he had to make this madness end was either pass out or win this stupid competition.
"Don't you pass out on me." The stupid tentacles kept going. "I'll make it your worst nightmare if you do."
Poe sagged in the chains. "PLEHEHEA---."
"Stay awake boy."
The alien's words seemed far away to the pilot as he became lost in a world of laughter.
"Stay awake."
Poe shook his tear stained face as the new voice entered his mind.
"Stay awake . . . Stay awake."
The pilot held on to that new voice to keep him from the brink of darkness. However, it was becoming harder and harder to do so.
Just when Poe thought he was going to tip over, he heard the call.
"Winner!"
Immediately, all the tentacles tickling him disappeared with a simultaneous series of pops.
Poe collapsed in his restraints. "Wh-whaha-?"
A hand patted his shoulder. "You won."
A moment later, the chains opened and the pilot collapsed face first onto the ground. He could hear the roar of the crowd and the stampede of feet as others went to collect their winnings.
Meanwhile, Poe tried to calm his frantic giggles and get his energy back.
A hand gently pulled his arm. "You okay?"
"Y-yeheah." Poe shakily stood his feet. "Yeheah Ihi'm gohood."
"You handled that like a champ," said the voice from his mind.
The pilot turned to look as two figures wrapped his arms around their shoulders and helped him up the stairs. "Rehey?"
The Jedi chuckled. "Missed me?"
"Wh-whehen . . . ?"
"We caught the tail end of what happened after we couldn't find you," the other voice explained. "When we figured out what was going out, we tried to find a way to get you out."
Poe blinked in the sun light. "Fihinn."
"One ahand onlyhy."
"How?"
"A lot of . . . 'Force persuasion'," Rey replied.
"That's a mild way of saying she subtly force chocked an opponent so you'd win the competition," Finn added.
The gears in Poe's head slowly turned as he processed what he had been told. "Yohou cheatehed."
"Bent the rules," Rey assured. "But yes."
"Come on BB-8," Finn called out.
Poe righted himself after tripping. "Where are wehe goihing?"
"Far away from town." Rey ushered him past the rocks. "We don't want to be around when they figure out what actually happened."
BB-8 let out a series of beeps.
"He'll be fine BB-8. He just needs to get his energy back."
"Before the General needs to see him too."
Poe's eyes widened. He did have the meeting with the General later.
"Don't think you'd worm your way out of this one." Finn hefted Poe's arm higher. "Not unless you want a trip to the Med Bay."
Poe groaned. "There's no wahay Ihi can explain thihis away."
"We have some time. You can rest a bit before the meeting," Rey assured him.
"This is the last tihime Ihi lehet you two talk me into visiting aha new tohown."
"Aw, don't be such a spoil sport," Finn teased.
"You try being tickled toho deheath and see how yohou feel."
Rey chuckled as the group made their way back to their speeder bikes. "You'll live, and I'll drive."
Poe was too tired to protest as he slumped forward onto the female Jedi's back.
"Wow, he must be exhausted if he won't argue about driving the speeder," Finn teased.
"Knock it off," Poe shot back.
"Come on Finn. We're out of here."
A moment later and the trio with BB-8 headed off.

Star Wars VIII: Echoes of Chaos Part 1
I really like the idea of Abeloth being the main villain of Star Wars Sequel Trilogy so I decided to run with the concept.
After the Title Crawl that tells us the galaxy is currently in a state of total chaos and of a sickness called ‘Force Madness’ that only effects force sensitives, we see Leia and the Resistance under bombardment by remaining First Order bombers as they try to make sure everyone gets onto the evacuations ships to the Main Cruiser. We see Poe and the other Resistance fighters doing everything in their power to prevent the First Order from gaining more ground.
Eventually, after a space fight, all the Resistance members gather together to convene for a meeting where Leia tells them that with the death of Starkiller Base, the First Order’s power has been severely weakened but they still hold many planets in the Outer Rim and have made alliances with the Hutt Clans and the Black Sun and because of this they will need reinforcements in order to liberate these planets. Poe asks how can they do that if the New Republic is basically dead to which Leia replies that while many of the New Republic’s senators and representatives were dead there were thankfully a few who were off-world at the time including a few of her allies who have convened in the old Senate Building on Coruscant to discuss their next course of action.
On the Resistance Mother Ship, Finn is hearing someone. A woman’s voice. His mother? Before he can truly think about the voice, Poe bursts into his hospital room with BB-8 and is ecstatic he’s alright and that he’s adjusting to the new robotic spine they put in. Robotic spine? Finn sees that yes he now has a robotic spine put into his back before asking Poe where Rey was.
Finally we get to Auch-To where we see Rey handing the lightsaber to Luke who gently grasps it. There’s an unreadable but sorrowful expression on his face as he stares at his father’s lightsaber before he simply shakes his head and let’s the weapon drop and walks away. Rey is confused by this and tries to follow Luke who shuts her out. Rey tries to ask Chewbacca why he’s like this but Chewbacca just shrugs. Chewbacca busts open the door to Luke’s hut where they see him on the ground holding his head with a painful expression on his face. Quickly, the Wookie goes to grab and hug him to try and provide some comfort to him. Luke, realizing who it is, happily hugs Chewbacca back and gives him his condolences about Han’s death before asking who she is. Rey responds with her name and tells him he was sent by his sister to bring him back and to begin her training in the force. Luke bluntly says that he can’t and that she’s better off breaking her connection to force in its entirety. This confuses Rey but Luke refuses to elaborate further before he leaves.
With the First Order we see Kylo Ren fighting and training against the other Knights of Ren as Snoke watches delighted by his aggression and anger. Snoke then tells him that he’s grown stronger by the hate he feels towards Rey defeating them in their last battle and that soon the time will come for the ultimate test of his abilities. Kylo Ren says nothing. Hux walks in and tells them that they have gotten intel that the Resistance is heading for Coruscant and they should cut them off before they’re able to regroup with their allies. Snoke agrees and Hux leaves to give the order. Snoke then turns to Kylo Ren and tells him that when the time comes he will be the one to end the life of his mother, General Organa. There’s some hesitance but Kylo Ren promises he will.
Speaking of General Organa, we finally see her again in her private chambers mourning the loss of her husband and cursing Anakin, her son, and herself for their failures when one of her attendants asks her to come to the bridge. They leave together where Leia is informed that there’s several incoming First Order ships heading there way along with Snoke’s flagship, Supremacy. Quickly, she starts ordering the pilots to their ships while she mans the bridge. Unfortunately, it’s not enough. The Resistance ends up losing after Leia calls everyone back to the Mother Ship. She orders Poe to take any survivors and continue to Coruscant while she sacrifices herself and the main ship. Poe begs her to reconsider but Leia won’t and instead she gives him a holodisk that is to be given to Senator Celchu of New Alderaan and no one else. He’s forced to leave her behind as he orders everyone to flee. Leia stays on the bridge awaiting the arrival of the First Order and lo and behold, it’s Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren. Leia greets her former son with Kylo Ren, hate in her eyes asking if he’s come to kill her too and he says not yet. He then orders her capture and the Knights of Ren try to grab her but she simply ignores as she heads onto the Supremacy.
Back on Auch-To, we see Rey trying to practice with the lightsaber however her technique is sloppy. Luke doing his daily routine tells her that if she continues like this, she’ll take an arm off and he should know. Rey says that she beat Kylo Ren and Luke says that she got lucky and that even in the past he was never good with a lightsaber since he preferred using the Force. Rey is confused by this for a minute and asks what Kylo Ren was like as Ben. Luke gets a sad far away look in his eyes before he simply walks away. Rey is even more confused. We cut to Luke walking into the Millennium Falcon where he summons a hologram of him, Han, Leia, and Ben but also of another woman and boy. They’re all younger and they actually look happy. We hear the distinctive beep of R2-D2, Luke turns around to see R2-D2 rolling over to him with a bunch of happy chirps and beeps and we see Luke smile at him as he bends down to give him a pat on his dome. The Skywalker tells him that’s he sorry he sent him away which R2 seems to acknowledge before he summons the hologram of his sister from all those years ago, Luke looks sad before looking away telling R2 that he can’t leave the planet no matter how much he wants to.
We regroup with the Resistance who made it to Coruscant where they are greeted by Senator Winter Celchu, a childhood friend of Leia’s and her eyes and ears after she was shamed for being the biological daughter of Darth Vader. Poe, remembering Leia’s words hands Winter the holodisk when Poe sees Finn start to become dazed as he begins to grasp his head. Poe calls out to him and Winter looks deeply concerned, like she’s seen something like this before. Finn finally snaps out of it before seeing their expressions and asks if everything is okay but they still look concern and Winter asks if Finn is force sensitive. This confuses Finn and he says no without hesitation. Winter doesn’t exactly look convinced but doesn’t elaborate any further and instead has the remaining group of Resistance members join on a transport she’s arranged to take them to the senate building.
At the Senate Building we see there’s only a handful of senators belonging to the New Republic left who are clearly shaken by the events that surrounded the destruction of the New Republic’s capital. Winter along with Poe and Finn comes to the stage and puts in the Holodisk from General Organa who tells the Senate about the situation they currently face and how they can defeat the weakened First Order. However, Finn has another attack and actually collapses this time. Senator Celchu seeing tells Poe to bring Finn to her office while a strange person watches on.
In her apartment, Finn slowly comes to and muttering about a strange woman’s voice. Poe is confused by Senator Celchu looks terrified that doesn’t go unnoticed. Wanting to seem normal, she tells Finn that she’ll go and fetch him a drink of water with Poe where we find out why Senator Celchu was so disturbed is because she believes Finn is force sensitive and is showing the early signs of Force Madness. Poe asks what Force Madness was and Senator Celchu answers that it’s a type of mental illness that seems to only affect those who are sensitive to the force and that Leia and Luke had nearly succumbed to the effects only for Leia to break off her connection with the force entirely while Luke disappeared. She also mentions that others were not so lucky and were ‘sent away’ to an institution though she doesn’t elaborate on who exactly and there seems to be more to the story. Poe promises that Finn will be fine but Senator Celchu doesn’t seem to believe him.
On Auch-To, we see Luke wake up to a redheaded woman smiling down at him and petting his hair. Luke looks shocked for a moment before saying, ‘Mara?’ The redheaded woman smiles before saying, ‘Come on, Lars is outside and we’ll be heading home soon.’ Luke seems about to go with her before stopping and screaming for her to get out of his head. The redheaded woman’s face turns into a horrifying smile full of razor-sharp teeth and attacks Luke...and he wakes up to see Rey. She’s frustrated with Luke’s refusal to teach her and tries to argue with him, and Luke simply replies that if she feels that way then she should leave and go back to Jakku. This infuriates Rey who runs to other side of the island to practice for herself and prove to Luke she’s serious when she begins to hear a voice. It’s strangely familiar. Compelled, she begins to follow the voice down into a cave where she continues to hear the voice until it leads her to a strange reflective rock that looks like a large mirror. Suddenly, she hears the voice again as two figures start to appear. Who was it? Was it her parents? Something started to come into view. Someone. Rey leans into see more clearly until she sees something that looks like a smile but before she can really decipher what it is, she’s grabbed from behind. It was Luke who drags her out of the cave.
She screams and yells at him saying that she almost saw her parents which Luke bluntly says that no she didn’t and that she was being deceived. She demands answers to which Luke after a bit of hesitation finally relents and takes Rey up to the Altar, the most ancient building on the island where she see a grand mural depicting three figure in white, gray, and black fighting off some kind of demon before a mosaic of the same three beings on the opposite wall. Luke explains that the three on the wall are called the Father, the Son, and the Daughter who represent the Balance, the Dark Side, and the Light Side respectively and were worshipped as gods by the early Jedi before their memory faded into myth and legend before being forgotten altogether. However, he explains there was one more of these god-like creature, the Mother, the Chaos of the Force, called Abeloth. Being the incarnation of Chaos, she was filled with hate and malice and nearly destroyed the universe until the Ones managed to seal her away into the core of Auch-To where she has stayed for millions of years. Rey asks him what this has to do with what she saw and he says that she is on the brink of being released. For 50 years, Abeloth’s seal has been slowly breaking allow more and more of her evil energy to be released into the galaxy until it became so terrible that it single-handedly created Force Madness, a mental illness that his own son and wife were afflicted with until they, along with most of his students, and many other force sensitives had to be institutionalized. Even he wasn’t completely unaffected and would experience terrible nightmares regarding a creature with horrifying smile so he went on a journey to find the source and hopefully a cure for the madness but he ended up finding Auch-To instead where he learned that because his father and master caused the deaths of the Ones in the past, she will not spread her influence any further if he remains to make up for their actions. Rey asks if there’s anything that can stop her and he simply says ‘The powers of a god, maybe.’
Back with the First Order, we see Leia’s cell door open to reveal Kylo Ren with a tray of food which he tries to hand to Leia who coldly rejects it. He says she needs to eat something but Leia retorts that she’s gone far longer without food. Kylo Ren tries to speak to her again when Phasma comes in to tell that Supreme Leader Snoke has summoned him to his chamber, Kylo Ren nods before giving one last look to his mother who doesn’t care to even look at him. He makes his way to Snoke’s chambers where he bows to his master who tells him that he has felt conflict inside of him. Kylo Ren says it’s nothing but Snoke tells him that it better be since he will be the one to execute General Organa in 5 days before the whole galaxy. Kylo Ren nods but looks conflicted.
On Coruscant, Winter and Poe are loudly arguing that the New Republic should make a major assault against the First Order now that they’re weakened, however, many senators are still afraid. While this happening, Finn is experiencing visions and more hallucinations of a strange woman with long white hair who keep whispering for him.

Rey Gives No F*cks About the Grandfather Paradox
Okay so since nobody’s suggested a fic under these terms, I ended up expanding on this post on discord and things snowballed. We kept to the basics of the entire plot revolving around Rey really hating her grandad and leveraging her blood relation to not be unalived about it.
With contributions by @atagotiak, @dracothulhu, @thepallaspalace, and several others. The title comes from @gelpenss.
The basic thing I absolutely need is this: Rey gets thrown back to the middle of the clone wars, and the subsequent plot leans in really heavily on her being, genetically-via-clone-dad, the daughter of the guy running the entire galaxy.
Nobody knows what to do with her.
The timing is mid-TCW for the past (because I want Ahsoka there) and vaguely between Episodes 8 and 9 because I... never watched E9 and don’t want to worry about the timeline. The only things that matter is that Luke is dead (he can die as he did in canon) and that Rey knows she’s Palp’s granddaughter (not the way she does in canon).
We'll say Luke found out from Anakin's panicked force-ghost and just went "well, fuck, okay, I should tell her this before she ends up in a situation like mine and finds out mid-battle or something."
Luke, prior to time-travel: Okay, so, now that I'm dead I know some things I didn't before. Like who your parents were. In the interest of full disclosure because I was in a very similar situation and I don't want you learning the way I did, I'm just going to come right out and say that your father was a clone was Sheev Palpatine. Rey: ... Luke: Are you okay? Rey: I don't know who that is.
(She grew up on Jakku, the history education was a little subpar.)
Setting The Scene
Imagine Rey showing up during or immediately before the clone wars. There’s this phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater who tells you that if you ran a paternity test, it would probably pop up the Chancellor. She may or may not bring up cloning. She accuses said Chancellor of being a Sith Lord.
Your other phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater, who may not be a teenager anymore but only barely, is very offended by this because Palpatine’s a Very Nice Old Grandfather Figure, but also he’s a little full of side-eye because if the blood test comes back as proof, then Palpatine had a kid and didn’t even know about them, or lied to Anakin, and that’s! Bad! Family’s important!!!
Palpatine hears about this daughter he apparently? Has? And is very confused because the timing doesn’t match up with ANYTHING he was doing, so the kid isn’t natural, and he says as much. (There is an explanation! It’s not a correct explanation, but he does come up with one.)
Finn and Poe and BB-8 all get dragged along because why not have the gang there? Nobody that’s already born, because [handwave] conservation of souls or something, IDK, point is the only person dragged along that’s even remotely close to already existing is Luke’s Force Ghost, who mostly hangs around begging Rey to be less impulsive. Finn is good because he is a nice polite boy, but for actual useful information they need Poe. The unfortunate situation is that the three do not land together. They land at the same time, in completely different corners of the galaxy. This means that nobody is there to curb Rey being her most impulsive self.
Time travel Rey knows two things. Luke’s dad ends up evil. Palpatine has always been evil.
She can solve one of these problems by killing the other, yes?
Rey: Ready to Rumble
See, the initial idea was this: Rey tried to break into the senate to kill Palpatine, got arrested, and then used the "he's biologically my father" card to get out of jail free. (Force Ghost Luke follows her like “please take five seconds to think this through.”)
But.
But.
It would be very, very, very funny if The Force just dumps her in a flash of light in the senate building and she just attacks Gramps on sight. Just a shouted "YOU!" and no-hesitation attempted murder.
Palpatine has no idea what's going on.
Rey took maybe two seconds to get identity confirmation and then started swinging.
Tumblr media
[Image Description: An individual in a green metal helmet with an eye slit, holding a pistol. In the upper left, upper right, and lower middle are the phrases “I do not know who I am...” “I don’t know why I’m here” and “All I know is that I must kill.” End description.]
Of course, she gets arrested. There are Master Jedi in the Senate. There are Clone Troopers. Palpatine isn’t the weak old man he pretends to be. Of course she’s stopped.
But she isn’t executed in time for Palpatine to stop her from ruining his entire reputation.
Immediately after Rey fails to kill her Shitty Granddad, Luke's ghost shows up and begs her to not talk about the Sith thing because it will completely undermine everything she's trying to do. Pass off the attempted murder as something else!
Rey, panicking: "that fucker left me on a desert planet for 10 years!" "You owe me 19 years of child support you son of a Hutt!"
The Jedi have to do the investigation, because the girl showed up with a laser sword, and the conversation is, uh... interesting. (“Where did you get that lightsaber?” “I got it from a mysterious old pirate lady I never met before. I don't know, I was being shown around by a smuggler and a Wookie.”)
Interviewer: Why did you try to assassinate the Chancellor? Luke: Say it wasn't assassination. Rey: It wasn't assassination. Int: You weren't trying to kill him? Luke: Assassination has to be politically motivated. Rey: This was, um... not political. Assassination is political, right? Int: You mean this was personally motivated? Rey: Yes. Int: I see. What personal motivation? Luke: Jakku! Rey: He's my grandfather. Int: ... Rey: Possibly father. Nobody was very clear on that. Int: ... Luke: Tell them to run a paternity test. Rey: Oh hey, a blood test would tell us which, right? Int: ............ Rey: I spent ten years as an orphaned scrapdealer on Jakku. He's my father. I'm kind of a little angry. Int: ........... Luke: Good job, kid. You bought yourself some time. Int: I'm going to get a medic to see about that parternity test.
Obviously, it comes back positive. Congratulations, Sheev, you’re the father.
Rey comes with a ready-made built-in excuse for hating Palpatine that nobody can question or fault her for!
Rey, pouring Truth into the Force: I didn't even know I was related to the Chancellor until a few months ago, but it's his fault I grew up the way I did, and he should take some responsibility!
The entire thing is mostly kept hush hush but someone leaks it to the press and Palpatine's ratings tank.
"Chancellor, I think we'll need to waive family visitation until she wants you a little less dead." "I would like to find out why she wants me dead, and indeed, where she came from." "...sir, for your own safety--"
Who would win? A master plan years in the making spanning decades of manipulating and work? or One (1) paternity test
"Okay, so, Rey Palpat--" "Ew, no, I don't want his name." "You--okay. Sure, we can understand that. Is there a name you would prefer to put on the paperwork?" Rey, who would have gone by Skywalker in honor of Luke but can't do that when Anakin is right there and all: "Can I think about it?"
Rey: I don't know what I want my last name to be but I know I don't want his, and most of the people I’d want a name from have famous families like you... Luke's ghost, pointing out the Literal Nobody that she cares about a lot: How about Solo? Rey: ...Solo, then.
(A few months later she runs into Poe again and he offers for Finn and Rey to both take his name because honestly they need SOMETHING but at that point she’s already decided on Smuggler Dad.)
Backtrack a bit. We’ve got a bigger cast.
They all arrive separately. Poe, for one, does better than Rey, who is aiming for a murder, but not quite as well as Finn, who is currently being adopted and hidden like a secret cat by a bunch of Alpha Clones on Kamino. He vibes with the names-or-numbers thing. He doesn’t necessarily tell them where and when he’s from, but he’s very sweet and a great liar and they adopt him wholesale anyway.
The Finn situation is just... "Buir Ti, we need you to hide this man, we've decided he's our little brother but if Nala Se finds out she'll make him leave."
Of course, this leads into Shaak Ti teaching Finn how to Jedi.
Maybe consider Finn needing to almost be tricked into learning Jedi things because he willfully forgets it could apply to him. Finn does not like to think of himself as special, which is super valid, but frustrating for Shaak Ti when it comes to, you know, getting him to acquire knowledge. Finn's training at some point is "here, levitate objects with the Force to entertain the tubies." It’s a lot easier to convince him to practice when it involves the babies.
(Everyone on Kamino looked at Finn and went “oh I love him I’m keeping him and teaching him things.”)
(He’s just very lovable.)
Poe, meanwhile, buys the trust of Anakin Skywalker via R2D2 declaring BB-8 the absolute most baby of droids. R2D2 met BB-8 three hours ago but.
"Hey Obi-Wan this is Poe I met him like five days ago but R2D2 says he checks out because his droid is a baby." "That's nice, Anakin, did you know the Chancellor has a daughter who tried to assassinate him in broad daylight yesterday? Because guess who had to stop the Chancellor from getting assassinated by his daughter in broad daylight yesterday."
A summary so far:
Finn, on Kamino: Hey, um, I don't know where this is, but it's not where I was a few minutes ago. Do you think you could get me a comm? What's your name? Poe, on [dice roll] Denon: Oh, hey, you're General Skywalker? Nice to meet you, I'm so sorry about my droid, she's a little excitable and thought your R2 unit looked like a friend of hers-- Rey, on Coruscant: DIE, GRANDFATHER
Finn: [Peacefully vibing on Kamino, unaware of the chaos and bonding with the clones] Poe: [Trying to explain how he knows someone who tried to kill the chancellor and defend Rey] Rey: [Arrested for trying to kill the chancellor]
Just... just...
Anakin: Some guy ended up lost on base yesterday with his droid, how’s your day going? Obi-Wan: I had to stop someone who claims to be the chancellors daughter from murdering the chancellor after she seemingly blinked into existence in the Senate building. Poe: 😐
(Poe: Oh, so that's where Chaos^2 went.)
Poe: In her defense, she is his... well we don't know if she's his daughter or granddaughter, but she's definitely related to him, and she definitely grew up in a shitty situation that was his fault, so...
(Poe is trying very hard to explain this and not get arrested on the military base.)
As you’ve probably guessed, what's especially funny about all of this for me is the fact that Palpatine is fully aware that this girl shouldn't exist, but can't find a single piece of evidence about where she came from. He didn't start any experiments that could result in a female child, and he didn't have sex in that period of time, so where the hell--
Rey spends so much time in jail... BUT they do eventually assign her a Jedi Master. Possibly before she actually proves her evil grandfather is in fact evil. Most votes went to either Plo Koon or Obi-Wan. Plo, because he’s dad-shaped, and Obi...
"Obi-Wan, you already raised one feral desert child with implausible amounts of power, you handle this." Rey in return is very "Sweet, you vaguely remind me of Master Luke," and nobody knows who the hell she's talking about. Obi-Wan is NOT on board with this plan, she'd really be better off with Plo or like........ Mace.
Reunion Tour
What I need out of this is the eventual Finn and Rey reunion scene that is just excited screaming while someone in the background explains to Shaak Ti that yes this is apparently Palpatine's terrifyingly force-sensitive daughter who hates him.
(Finn senses Rey’s approach and just. Gathers the everyone to wait. He’s just :D REY MY FRIEND REY GUYS MY FRIEND REY IS COMING.)
Anakin shows up with Poe--just a guy who signed on to the military, no big deal--and then Poe and Rey are EXCITED and everyone's just like "Cool, how do you know this literal terrorist child?" And Poe has to scramble and "Uhhhhhhhhhhhh she saved my droid from a scrapheap once and BB-8 is basically my child so I owe her one."
Rey knows that Anakin ends up evil so she’s maybe not actively hostile but definitely very “I’m watching you.” That said, she vibes with him on a lot of things that he maybe doesn’t actively notice.
Rey picks up a snake, snaps off the head for venom avoidance, and starts biting off chunks. Obi-Wan's reaction: [undisguised horror] Anakin and Ahsoka: Ooh, where'd you find that? (Obi-Wan: And now I’m up to three feral children.)
What Does Palpatine Even Do?
OBVIOUSLY at a certain point, Palpatine is just phoning up every ally he has to figure out who broke protocol to synthesize a daughter for him.
So of course, Palpatine blame Plagueis.
She'd have been born five or so years before Naboo, just a few years younger than Anakin. It's such an EASY theory to build a conspiracy around. It is ENTIRELY WRONG, but it’s plausible! And anyone who might have been involved to say otherwise is probably dead!
A random bio-kid shows up you can’t possibly have contributed genes to? Maybe it’s the evil bio spark that did it.
Palpatine tries to placate her with the ‘my genes were stolen for an experiment and I didn’t know’ thing. It doesn’t work because her actual main complaint is he’s evil in her future but he tries.
It'd be a struggle to even get access to her, because of the aforementioned “maybe don’t try to talk to the daughter(?) that hates you” thing, but you know who Palpatine does have access to? The Chosen One.
Rey kind of decides on her favorites early on (she gravitates to Dad Energy and Sad Old Men so Plo and Obi-Wan are on her list, and that means decent time around Anakin and Ahsoka). It's really easy to talk Anakin into helping to some degree because "he'd like to connect to a daughter he never knew" and "a child of her power on a planet like that, you'd know her struggle, my dear boy" and so on. Anakin tries to connect! He tries to play up Sheev’s kind political work and how it can’t have really been his fault! It doesn’t work. Rey does not believe a word of it. Mostly she doesn’t even seem to hear him.
Rey's just like "...oh right, you're the melted mask that Kylo Ren was always ranting about," which means absolutely NOTHING to Anakin, but he mentions it to Palps, who loses his goddamn mind trying to figure out what she's talking about, because it also means absolutely nothing to him.
Here’s the thing: Rey’s already decided that Obi-Wan is cool, because Luke said so, and Plo Koon is dad-shaped, and she also gravitates towards earnest kindness in general, like she made friends with Finn real quick, so Ahsoka? Already getting along great.
She doesn’t dislike Anakin, really, he isn’t evil yet, he’s just... meh. She’s a little suspicious and she likes him less than the others but... Anakin.
Rey, to Anakin: You are my least favorite. Anakin, to Palpatine: YOUR DAUGHTER HATES ME???
And he goes from “she’s a lil standoffish” to “she doesn’t like me” to “she hates me” as is normal for Anakin.
It’s just an escalation of this one time Palpatine wants Anakin to not have rifts and trust issues with a person, at least not until later, because he needs information.
Meanwhile, that very moment, Rey is just like "huh, nobody here is listening to me about how make a sixth-hand carburetor work, where's Luke's dad?"
Anakin is venting to Palpatine about how hard it is to talk to Rey, and she's over in the Temple just like "Hey, that guy was useful last time, I should ask him," but also she only ever thinks of him as Luke's Dad.
(At one point, Obi-Wan is having a bit of a break down, and then Anakin starts having a breakdown about that, meanwhile the clones are (badly) trying to hide Finn behind their backs, Rey is watching Ahsoka practice and being like "I want two lightsabers," and Poe is trying to keep R2 from stealing BB-8 and Force Ghost Luke is just face palming in the background.)
(Rey deserved a saber staff, maybe one that can detach and turn into a jar’kai set. Possibly a pike. Mostly I just wish she got more chances to whack things with a big stick.)

MASTERLIST
You were stood in the command center with your hands wringing together. No matter how many missions Poe went on, the waiting was always hell. How were you supposed to remain sane when the love of your life was out fighting a battle that he might not come back from. That you might never see him again. He always reassured you that he would always come back to you. That you never had anything to worry about. You tried to believe him, and for the most part you did, but that didn't prevent you from being worried when he was gone.
You listened through the coms, trying to keep track of what was happening during the battle. Leia let you stay in there because she had a soft spot for you, as well as the pilot you were worried about. You were thankful she let you listen in on every mission, it meant that you weren't alone worrying in the room you shared with Poe. The conversation over coms was rushed and loud, they were scared and that made your heart beat faster.
'I have to go through, they're gonna come after us if I don't.' You heard your fiance yell. Worry stuck in the pit of your stomach, he was going to take a risk, you could feel it.
'Poe, it's not worth it. We should get out of here while we still can'. You agreed, wanting him to get out of there as soon as possible. You prayed he would listen and just get out.
'I have to try, I can't go back knowing that they could be following us to base.'
'Poe wait-' You heard someone rush out before comotion ensued again. You could feel your heart in your throat. You could have cried. After a minute of listening to pure chaos, nobody in the control room dared to speak a word. Everyone was waiting for an indication of what to do from the squadron. You found yourself zoning out in your worry. You were only broken out of your trance when you heard your fiance's name.
'Poe is down.' You stopped breathing.
"Down? What do you mean down?" You heard Leia call over comms.
'I'm sorry commander, he got hit. His X-Wing engine got shot and he was heading to crash on the planet right below us, his coms died. There's no way to know if he made it through but I don't know many who could take that crash and live. We have to head out and hope he comes back to base but I wouldn't get my hopes up.'
"Get out of there while you still can. We will have to worry about Poe when we gather our strength." Leia responded and the squadron called their understanding before the process of bringing them home began. You hadn't moved. You weren't sure if you had breathed. Your body was fully numb. You could feel eyes on you as everyone waited for you to respond. To show some emotion of your boyfriend having just gone MIA. You couldn't feel yourself though, your fingertips were numb, and you refused to believe he was dead. He promised. He told you he would come home.
Your brain was split between trying to grieve for the loss of the love of your life and trusting that he would be back. That he had to come back because he promised he would and he never breaks a promise. You felt hands on you and you realized you had fallen to sit in your spot. Leia was above you and was ushering you to your feet. You mindlessly let her push you somewhere and you barely even looked to see where you were going.
Eventually you showed up at your apartment door. You couldn't tell whether it felt like it had been instantaneous or an eternity to get there. Leia unlocked your door and pushed you inside and to the small couch that was stood in the living room-like space. The apartments were all very small, Poe had one a little bigger because he was housing with another person and because of his rank. Still, the extra amenities included a small couch, a smaller kitchen, and a window along the bedroom wall. When Leia sat you on the couch she kneeled in front of you. Her hand went to your cheek and you looked at her for the first time since you'd heard Poe go down. She seemed to almost be in tears but your eyes were dry. You didn't feel anything.
"Y/N, what can I do?" She asked gently. "Do you need anything?" You felt yourself shake your head and open your mouth like you were going to talk but closed it again as you thought.
"He said... He said he was coming back." You stated as if it changed the situation. "He promised." You mumbled.
"I know, Y/N. I am so sorry." She tried to console and your head shook. "We don't know what happened after he went down. You heard the team. He might contact us in the next few days, he is a smart man and he knows how to get a message out. But I don't want it to hurt you more if he never does." She tries to reason and you shook your head.
"No, you don't understand. He promised, " your head was spinning, "he's coming back." You felt tears fall down your face. When had you started crying? "He promised me that he was coming back home." Your voice broke which surprised you. Before you knew it you were crying into Leia's arms and you couldn't stop yourself. That was how you stayed with her for a while after, you weren't sure how long. She shed some tears of her own but eventually you both ran dry. You lost feeling again and you couldn't tell if it was better or worse. You made a decision. You wouldn't grieve over him until you were sure he was not coming back. You wouldn't mourn until you were sure.
The alternative was not, however, to recover. Instead you just stopped doing anything at all. You stopped eating, taking care of yourself, caring. Soon, your friends came in to talk to you. Instead of it being conversation though, they just talked at you. You couldn't bring yourself to respond or really even listen. Or maybe you did but you just couldn't remember. They would periodically come through to help you into a shower in which you just let the water run over you while someone else, you thought maybe Rey but you couldn't even recall, washed your hair. You drank water when they asked and would take a bite of food if they begged but other than that you might as well have been dead to the world. You almost hadn't realized how much of a vital part to your existence Poe was. How little you could bring yourself to do without him. You had thought you were prepared to be separated, you were in the middle of a war after all. Instead it was impossible to do anything without him and you wondered how long you could keep doing it.
This went on for a week. That was how long it took for them to declare him 'killed in action'. They felt that, if he was alive, he would have found a way to contact the base with the help of BB8 and local lifeforms. That was when you allowed yourself to grieve. The numbness turned into pain and it was a million times worse. You would have given anything to go back to numb.
You finally listened to your friends when they talked to you but their consolations did nothing to put you at ease. You still struggled to do anything but you complied with their pleads. You had been convinced, 2 weeks after the KIA announcement, to go to the canteen. To see people and interact. Finn pulled you along with an attempt at a smile on his face. Your face was blank but you tried to soften your eyes. You knew he was trying to help and he was grieving the loss of his best friend as well. When you were pulled into the large cafeteria, all noise ceased. You knew that they were looking at you and you guessed that they pitied you. You had seen yourself in the mirror that morning and you would have pitied you too. You got pulled to a table and Finn went to go get you and himself food.
People periodically came by and said hello or asked how you were as you tried to eat something. You responded with one word answers usually and you hadn't met anyone's eyes. You could feel yourself getting overwhelmed and decided you would head back to your room. You quietly thanked Finn for trying and left to the hallway.
Suddenly, alarms sounded. You were startled into awareness and people began running past you.
'ALL EMERGENCY CREW TO FLIGHT DECK'
You were curious about the alarm but you weren't emergency crew and you knew they didn't need any more bodies there than would already be there. That was until you heard someone as they rushed by as they talked to the medic next to them.
"Yeah I heard it was him but he went missing weeks ago." They sounded confused and continued jogging toward the flight deck. You feet started moving before you could even process it and it was the fastest you'd moved since he had gone missing. Since he had died.
When you got to the flight deck there was already a crowd. You could see over the see a people a beat up X-Wing. You thought you might have heard a droid. You elbowed your way to the front of the crowd, not apologizing when people grumbled their frustrations at you. When you made it to the front you were stood no more than 50 feet from him. He was soot covered and beat up but he was standing as he tried to wiggle out of the grasp of the medics. BB8 beeped and turned, spotting you. He made a loud excited noise and rushed to roll over to you and Poe turned at the sound. When he met your gaze he smiled.
You felt your knees give out and tears start to fall from your eyes. Your arms crossed over your stomach and you started to curl into a ball over your knees. A sob left you and suddenly large warm hands were on your shoulders.
"Y/N? My love, are you okay?" He rushed out, checking over you for injury as the medics still grumbled about needing to see him. His hand came under your chin to move your face so he was making eye contact with you. You let out another sob before grabbing his vest and pulling him into you, he kneeled to the ground as you clung to him and cried into his chest. He moved himself so he was sitting on the ground and he pulled you into his lap. You felt his hands on your back trying to soothe you but you couldn't stop crying. "I'm back. I'm so sorry I was gone but I'm back." He mumbled out as he kissed your head a few times.
"I'm so angry at you." You whispered and he almost laughed, just happy to hear your voice. You finally pulled your head out of his chest and kissed him like your life depended on it, like it was the last time you would ever see him. You pulled away so you were looking into his eyes. "Please don't leave me," you begged almost silently. You weren't even sure if he could hear you. "Please don't leave again."
"I'm not leaving, baby, I promise." He tried to calm you. "I'm right here. I'm okay."
You nodded, trying to convince yourself that he was real and he was here. You kissed him again just to check. You pulled away again, still trying to convince yourself.
"You died." You struggled out and Poe felt tears in his eyes as well. "You were dead, you crashed and you didn't make it and then they said you were gone." You said like that was what happened.
"I didn't die, my love. I'm right here. I'm alive, I'm okay." Poe pleaded and he grabbed your hand, bringing it up to his face so you could feel him. Your hand moved along is jaw which was now covered in stubble and grime. Your head shook like you were disagreeing with him but you were simply in disbelief.
"I love you" You mumbled as your eyes traced the lines of his face and tears fell from your eyes. He let a few tears fall as well before pressing meaningful kisses to every part of your face that he could reach.
You spent the next 2 hours like that. You wouldn't leave his hold and he didn't try to move you. The medics worked around you and everyone greeted him without disturbing you. You stayed, on his lap, curled into his chest. Your breathing had slowed to a normal pace and you were holding onto his vest tightly. Eventually, he had to be debriefed. He petted your hair and cooed at you to catch your attention.
"Y/N, my love," he whispered, "we have to get up now." He felt you nod but you made no move to get up from him. He took a breath before moving you off of his lap as you whined, standing up, and then picking you up so you could wrap yourself around him. You hummed contentedly into his chest and he had a smile on his face as he walked through the base.
"I love you." You whispered again into his chest. You had been doing it periodically every so often in the last 2 hours and every time Poe would repeat it back to you, kiss your head, or say something else. This time he chose to kiss your head.
"Baby, I have to go to the debriefing now and you know you can't come with me." He tried to say gently but he knew this separation might be hard for both of you. "I'm gonna put you down." He warned before encouraging your legs to go to the floor. You listened but didn't release his neck which you were also clung to. His hands fell to your waist and you both stood for a moment with your heads in each others necks and breathing deeply. "I'm gonna hand you off to Rey, okay?" He asked as he flagged down Rey from the hallway.
"Okay." You whispered, still not releasing him.
"Hey, Rey, sorry to bother you but could you keep Y/N company for a few minutes while I talk to Leia and the squadron?"
"Oh of course!" Rey chirped and you took a deep breath before releasing Poe. You let him kiss your cheeks and your nose before he walked the other direction toward the command center. You stared at him until Rey put her hand in yours and clasped it. You turned to look at her and for the first time in weeks, she saw you smile. "I'm so happy for you, Y/N." She assured and you believed her.
"Thank you." You whispered and another tear fell from you, this time of joy and happiness. Not grief.
"What do you say to heading to your room and get cleaned up a bit, yeah?" She tried and you nodded, following where her hand lead with one last glance toward the direction that Poe went.
"-the converter didnt even work until a day ago because the main power source broke down." Poe finished explaining his time on the planet he had crashed on and the rest of the squadron nodded and asked a few more questions. Once he was done, Finn met him outside the command center.
"So-" he paused, "I'm not sure how to say this nicely but most of your stuff went into the redistribution center because you were presumed dead." He rushed out. Poe took a moment to process and nodded.
"Well that's sort of a bummer. Could I borrow some of your stuff?" Poe asked, knowing it would take at least a day for him to get reassigned sets of uniforms.
"Yeah of course, that's why I'm standing here waiting for you. You could get cleaned up in my room too if you want. I know Y/N kept a few of your jackets and shirts but most of it got taken." The boys began to walk toward Finn's living quarters and there was a moment of silence before Poe asked something he wasn't sure he wanted the answer to.
"What happened when I was gone?" His throat felt dry suddenly and his words came out hoarse. "To Y/N I mean. Was she okay?" Poe wasn't sure what answer he wanted. He knew from your recent reaction that you were devastated, as he would have been, but he also knew he had a dangerous job. He might not come back from some other mission in the future and he hoped you would survive without him.
"Do you really want to know?" Finn questioned.
Poe nodded.
"I mean, she was broken." He paused to think. "She didn't talk to anyone for a week. Wouldn't move. Wouldn't cry. Rey had to help her shower and we had to beg her to eat. We almost sent her to the med wing because we thought she was gonna pass out from dehydration, she would barely take a sip of water." Poe's heart was in his throat but he was sure there was more. "Then you were pronounced KIA."
"Oh god."
"Yeah it wasn't pretty. They pulled your stuff out of your guys' room, took your name off the ledger. Leia let her keep some stuff but it was hard to watch. She finally cried, she just wouldn't stop. She was more responsive but she wasn't even moving towards okay. You could tell she was only doing what we were asking because we were begging. That she was doing it out of guilt. Today was actually the first day that I talked her into coming out of her room. She had been to the canteen for about an hour when she felt she needed to leave and then alarms sounded that you were back." Finn finished with a glance to his friend and Poe looked like he might throw up.
"I want her to be okay if I don't make it back one day." Poe tried to explain to his friend.
"She probably would have been functioning in a few months. She wouldn't have recovered but she would function. She's a strong woman, but she also loves you a lot. I mean, how would you react if she was killed on mission?" Poe could tell it was a rhetorical question but he thought about it very carefully. You were an engineer so you weren't called out on mission often, not nearly as often as him. When you were, he was worried sick the whole time. He hadn't really thought about how him being gone affected you before. Now looking back on it he kicked himself for it.
Poe thought about what he would have done if you had died and he thought that your reaction was probably mild. That he would have been unresponsive for weeks or even become violent with anger and grief. He knew that you were the one for him, the most important thing in his life, and without you he didn't know if he would find purpose in his life anymore. He fought in the war as hard as he did for you. To make the galaxy safer for you.
When he went MIA it was because he tried to take out a couple more imperial ships than he could handle. He only did it because he knew they would have followed them back to base if they left. Back to you. So he took the risk and it backfired but he knew he would do it again to try and keep the First Order away from you.
He was knocked out of his train of thought by the arrival at Finn's quarters. Poe tried to get cleaned up and dressed quickly, getting the grime off of himself and shaving his face. He hurried back to your shared quarters and when he entered his room he was greeted with your smiling face as you laughed.
You were sat on the bed, Rey on the other end, as you were talking about something which caught you in a fit of giggles. At the sound of him stepping into the room you looked at him and got up quickly to rush up and hug him tightly.
"Missed you." You mumbled into his chest. As he held you Rey silently nodded at Poe and left the room.
"Was only gone for a minute, honey bun." He reassured and you pulled your face back.
"You know I hate that one."
"Boo bear?" he teased and you shook your head no. "Munchkin?" nope. "honey bear?" no thank you. "Baby love?" You tilted your head a bit.
"I don't loathe that one."
"Sweetheart?"
"I like that one."
"Princess?"
"That's my favorite" You giggled and kissed him quickly for a moment. He could have cried at the sight of you giggling. He had missed that, you, the sounds you made, so goddamn much. More than he would ever put into words.
"I know it is, pretty girl." He smiled before picking you up and you squealed. He walked you over to the bed before dropping you on it and laying next to you. You climbed close to him, practically laying on his chest. His arm was snug around your waist and he left no room for you to move, not that you would have anyway. "How would you feel about going to bed, princess?" He almost whispered, not wanting to disrupt the fragile quiet in the room.
"Yes please. I love you Poe." You whispered back and closed your eyes a bit, focussing on his breathing.
"I love you, Y/N" he responded.
You both got the first decent sleep you'd had in weeks that night.

Tumblr media

Series Masterlist
Plot: The Resistance has been chasing information across the galaxy to confirm the identity of the voice behind the mysterious radio broadcast. Meanwhile, Y/n has been keeping secrets from her loved ones that could have catastrophic consequences...
Warnings: language, intrusive violent thoughts, talk of the death of a parent, no beta reader because we die like men...
Word Count: 4.3k
A/N: GAH we’ve made it to TROS. I can’t believe we’re nearing the end of this series...Nope, I’m not getting emotional today lol. Thanks for patiently waiting for this chapter, I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated. Hopefully I don’t disappoint :) --------
I’d joked as a kid that I’d always wanted to float. The concept of hovering above the ground suspended in midair had tickled me, but the reality of physics had crushed that dream quickly.
So naturally, my inner child was giddy to learn it was indeed possible.
I sat crossed legged, hands resting on my knees, eyes shut, more at ease than I’d been in a long time from seven feet in the air. Meditation had always brought me a deep sense of peace, but diving deeper into a Jedi’s way of performing the act had taken the whole thing to a new level.
“Be with me…” came a voice from the body that sat adjacent to me. The corners of my mouth lifted up slightly as I listened to Rey try her hardest while still attempting to remain relaxed and open. It was a blessing and a curse to be a perfectionist and a Jedi, you were wildly driven but also would beat yourself up generously if you couldn’t get something. That was Rey to a t. Not that I wasn’t just as devout, but I’d trained myself long enough to know that you couldn’t perfect something overnight.
“They’re not with me,” she declared with a scoff, “Ugh…”
Rey effectively called an end to our session as I opened my eyes to see her gracefully flip through the air and meet the ground. Her half of the rocks we’d been keeping in the air with us fell while I eased mine down with me, landing in a crouched position. “You’re going to get it.” “I’m not so sure I agree,” she sighed. “I haven’t figured it out either if it makes you feel any better,” I offered with a shrug, brushing the dirt from my leggings.
Rey made an objective noise, “That’s not true, you can hear your grandfather.”
“Only because he reaches out to me, I’m still not able to hear or see him by my own doing. And believe me, I’m trying…”
“It comes with time and a healthy dose of patience…” said the warming presence I sensed just a few feet away from us. “I’m starting to think it isn’t possible,” Rey stated as we walked toward my mother, “To hear the voices of the Jedi who came before.”
“Nothing’s impossible,” Mom replied simply, she had drilled that phrase into our brains so many times over the past few months that I swore it was tattooed somewhere in my skull.
“Nothing’s impossible,” Rey echoed, a small smile spreading across her face at the encouragement, “I’m going to run the training course. Are you coming?” “No, I ran it earlier,” I said, elbowing her lightly in the arm, “One day I’ll beat you but today was not that day.” Rey was such a humble person, which made it all the more entertaining to watch her try not to take delight in being the best at something. She slyly grinned at me before accepting Uncle Luke’s lightsaber from Mom and heading off towards the start of the course.
Can I go with her? Unless you need me? “No, Bee,” I smiled down at the droid, left in my custody till Poe returned, “You can go with Rey.” He happily rolled his way through the jungle, in search of his friend.
“Any word from the Falcon?” I asked hopefully as Mom and I slowly strolled back towards base.
“Not yet,” she answered, trying her hardest to sound unworried, “It may be too risky to send a comm back. I wouldn’t worry yet.”
“Telling me not to worry only makes me worry more,” I returned, clenching and unclenching my fists in an attempt to relieve some of the tension in my body.
Only a handful of Resistance personnel knew the details of Finn and Poe’s mission. Those who did understood the weight and magnitude of the information they were potentially retrieving. But as with every high-risk mission, bringing back intel meant bringing themselves back, which was a big if…
“Mom, what if it really is what we think it is?” I asked, sounding more like a curious child than a concerned commander, “Worse, what if it’s who we think it is?”
“I wish I had an answer for you,” she sighed, “But the truth is that we don’t know for certain what we’re up against. We’re anticipating and planning in the dark. We can only pray that Poe and Finn return with something that could shed even a little light on the matter.”
Light versus dark, an age old battle with a new enemy for each generation to face. But the same enemy coming back twice? Nobody could have predicted it. And while it was true, we had no official confirmation that the broadcast across the galaxy had been who we believed it to be, those who had lived through the rebellion had no doubts.
“Do me a favor and let me know when they’re back if I’m not around,” I requested, breaking away from my mother who was heading back towards the command center. I needed a few minutes to myself to attend to matters I couldn’t concern her or Rey with.
“Y/n,” she called and waited for me to face her, “I know you’re scared, but don’t feel like you need to fight your battles on your own.” If only she knew the battles I was fighting and just how important it was that nobody find them out. I hated secrets, I’d spent my entire life keeping them from those who meant the most to me. But the ones I kept now were in a new category of extreme, they were the kind that when all was exposed could ruin every relationship I had.
So I simply nodded, gave a tight lipped smile and turned back on my way.
I ended up deep in the opposite side of the jungle, far away from the training course and far enough away from base that nobody would stumble upon me. I scaled one of the large trees with ease, landing on a sturdy top branch and settling onto it. Like D’Qar, I kept a secret corner of Ajan Kloss for myself for when I needed quiet or clarity. But both places where were I faced my demons, only the ones I had now couldn’t be combatted with a lightsaber. Not yet, at least…
I took a deep breath and looked out to the beautiful horizon, inwardly beating myself up for what I was about to do.
“Ren, are you there?”
Silence.
“Ren, I know you’re there somewhere,” I pushed, trying to open the connection between us once again, “You’ve got to tell me if you know anything about what’s been going on.”
Nothing.
“This isn’t a matter of First Order or Resistance, it’s not about you or I. If this is what we think it is, both of us are fucked so if you know something, I need to know it too.” We hadn’t spoken since the evening of the broadcast, I knew him better than I wished to and knew that any threat to his rule would send him frantically searching for the culprit. Since he’d gone silent on me, I’d reached out often to try and get any information out of him I could. It wasn’t so I could use it against him, it was simply to figure out what we’d be up against. He was the only person I knew close to the dark side of the force, meaning he was the closest to answers I could get. I was toeing a dangerous line and I knew it.
As always, he didn’t answer. Once I’d served my usefulness to him, he’d dropped our frequent communication without so much as a warning. I’d spent so long trying to get as far from him as possible and now that I needed something from him, he was nowhere to be found.
Thoroughly done with myself, I groaned and leaned my head against the tree. “Resistance commander trying to strike conversation with the leader of the First Order…Well done, Solo.” Then suddenly, my mind was struck with an overwhelming pain. I was having another attack.
I stood amongst the familiar flames.
Bodies were scattered around me, their screams echoing through the air.
My usual y/e/c turned yellow as I stared down at the carnage.
Ren stood near me.
Obi-Wan did not.
“Don’t be afraid,” Ren said in an eerily soft voice, “This is who you were always meant to be.” Another scream, but it wasn’t in the dream.
I clung to the tree with one arm, the other was clutching my head to try and make the pain stop. Taking frantic whimpering breaths, I tried to remind myself that it wasn’t real. It wasn’t real. It was just my nightmare, the one I’d lived through my entire life. It was nothing more.
But then, my grandfather had never not been there.
And I’d never seen myself as a Sith.
I decided that was enough for one day, I didn’t know if there was anything else on my agenda but I’d find something. Anything to keep me out of my own head, which was becoming a more dangerous place to be with every passing day…
————
It was a few hours later, while tucked away with Rey in her corner of the base, that the day took another turn. We were going through the old Jedi texts when Nimi shouted for both of us, “Falcon’s back!”
I groaned in relief, setting my book down and leaping from my seat. Rey and Bee followed close behind as we made our way through the base, but the smoke trail leading back to the ship’s landing area wasn’t a good sign.
Sure enough, the Falcon was in flames. I stopped short at the sight, my beloved ship, my home, burning up. People were flocking to it, some to watch but most to help extinguish the fire. The Falcon was a Resistance symbol and people felt protective over it, it was a legacy.
“It’s on the fire, the whole thing’s on fire! All of it is on fire!” The figure emerging from the chaos typically sparked joy in me, but at the moment of his appearance I found little comfort in his presence. Sensing my anger, Rey stepped forward while I turned my back away from the Falcon and ran my hands over my face trying to keep calm.
“Hey.” “Hey,” Poe greeted.
“There’s a spy?” she asked, I’d admit that I forgot all about the mission in the moment.
“Really could’ve used your help out there,” Poe said loudly over the noise that surrounded us.
“How’d it go?” “Really bad actually…Really bad.”
I inhaled deeply and spun on my heels, my resolve to remain calm fizzling with every word my boyfriend said. “Really? I wouldn’t have been able to tell.” Poe’s hands readjusted themselves on his hips, “Look, you don’t understand-“ “No, Poe,” I raised a finger towards him before pointing to the Falcon, “You clearly don’t understand. What was the one rule I had for taking the Falcon? Don’t do anything dangerous!” “And you don’t understand that I had no choice,” Poe raised his voice, gesturing to the Falcon, “We had First Order on our tails, I did what had to be done.” “And pray tell, what needed to be done to my ship?” I asked, flattening my palms together and pressing my lips together in a faux smile. Poe breathed in to explain before he caught sight of Bee resting in between mine and Rey’s feet. “What’d you do to the droid?”
“What’d you do to the Falcon?” Rey countered.
“The Falcon’s in a lot better shape than he is.” “I beg to differ,” I interjected, my voice raising an octave. “BB-8’s not on fire,” Rey gestured toward the still flaming ship.
“What’s left of him isn’t on fire,” Poe’s eyes widened as he looked down at his droid.
Growing tired of the exchange, Rey cut to the chase, “Tell us what happened.” “You tell me first,” Poe demanded stubbornly.
“I asked you first and you still haven’t given me an answer,” I argued, throwing my hands out to their sides in frustration.
“You know what you are?” Rey began, a sarcastic smile plastered on her face as she stared down Poe.
“What?” “You’re difficult. Really difficult, you’re a difficult man.” “You, you are…” Poe started, letting his sentence end with a growl as he stalked off to examine Bee. Rey went to greet Finn who swept her in up in a hug
I crossed my arms and rotated my posture to speak in his direction, “She’s not wrong.” “You two aren’t exactly easy to deal with all the time either,” he fought back, not even bothering to face me as he examined Bee, “Buddy, look at you. You’re a mess.”
“I’d be a whole lot easier to deal with if you would tell me what the hell happened to my ship,” I raised a finger to him as he began to inhale, “Do not say one thing about Bee, he lost one part and Rey and I were going to fix him up before you got back.” A roar from Chewbacca, hard at work trying to help fix the Falcon gave me the answer I’d been asking for. We’d officially graduated from anger to rage…
“You lightspeed skipped?!” I shouted.
“Yeah, well, it got us back here, didn’t it?” Poe countered.
“Poe, the compressor’s down,” Rey explained, her face exposing her shock.
“Oh, I know, I was there.”
“Every time…” Finn mumbled to himself as he stood to the side of us. “You can’t lightspeed skip the Falcon.”
Poe sprung to his feet, “Actually, turns out you can.” “Does that mean you should?” I scolded. Finn, ever the peacemaker, tried to calm the three of us down. “All right, guys, we just landed, okay?” “Poe, you are never allowed to fly the Falcon again,” I seethed, “Ever.” “You can’t make that call, she’s a Resistance ship,” Poe objected, coming to stand in front of me.
“She’s my ship that I allow select Resistance members to use, of which you are no longer one.” “Okay, guys,” Finn interjected as gently as he could, “Can you two deal with your issues later and actually discuss the mission?”
Looking like a child who had just had a toy taken away, Poe silently stalked away from me with no more than a steely glare. The argument was far from over on both our ends.
“What happened on the mission?” Rey asked, changing the subject for all of our sakes as we followed Poe.
“Bad news, that’s what happened,” Poe explained with his back to us.
“No spy?”
“No, spy.”
“Can we please communicate like adults for five seconds?” I asked, pressing m hands against my mouth in an attempt to not let my fury fly free. “Did we make contact with the spy or not?” Rey asked, leaving no room for interpretation.
“There’s a mole in the First Order, and they sent us a message,” Finn explained, but Bee decided to interrupt with his own retelling of how he’d gotten his injury which caused Poe to stop in his tracks.
“You dropped a tree on him?” he asked Rey.
“You blew both sub-alternators?” she retaliated.
“No, he did more than that,” I spoke up with a humorless laugh, “He may have caused permanent damage to the Falcon, you could’ve torn the whole damn thing apart.” “Well, you know what, maybe you two should’ve been out there with us!” Poe finally exclaimed, we’d gotten to the heart of the matter at last. “You know I want to be out there with you,” Rey cried, “We both do!” “Yeah, but you’re not. You’re here training, for what?” Poe continued, sighing in disappointment afterwards as he looked between us both, “You two are the best fighters we have. We need you, out there, not here.” Silence had fallen and Poe had successfully gotten in the last word, Rey couldn’t fight any more and Finn didn’t want to. I however had plenty more to say on all subjects discussed and as Poe left us, ordering someone to get R2 into reconditioning, I went after him.
“Did you think that conversation was over?”
“Hoped, yes,” he replied, not slowing down to accommodate me. “It’s like talking to a wall,” I growled, walking double time to catch up to him, “I have told you at least ten times why I’m not on missions right now and yet you still give me shit for it.” “Y/n, you know as well as I do that things are dicey right now and we need our best out on the frontlines,” he stated as we argued through the base, “You and Rey are our best and you’re here training for something and you can’t even tell me what it is.” “How am I supposed to tell you when I don’t know what it is?” I asked, waving a hand between the two of us, “I can sense things that you can’t, you have to trust that what I’m doing is best for the long term.” “Well, then maybe don’t give me so much shit next time something happens to the Falcon on my watch when you’re not there and I’m doing what’s best for the long term.” My feet stopped but Poe’s didn’t, causing me to have to speak louder. “You really don’t understand why I’m upset, do you?” He swung a foot around and pivoted, he was visibly tired but still willing to listen. If only the sight of him didn’t fill me with so much anger…This wasn’t how his returns usually went.
“That ship is the last piece of my dad that I have,” I began, willing my voice not to crack, “I don’t have his wedding ring, his jacket, I don’t even have a picture of the two of us. I have the Falcon,” I pointed back in its direction, smoke still rising high above the trees surrounding it, “That’s it. So when it comes back in pieces, you’re right, I’m going to be upset and I’m not going to apologize for it. Because I know if you still had your mother’s A-Wing and someone so much as got a scratch on it, you’d never forget it.”
Poe kept quiet, his softening eyes betraying his hardened stare. I’d won, but it certainly didn’t feel like it. “I’m gonna go try and save what’s left of my father’s ship,” I finished, breaking into a jog back towards the Falcon before Poe could see the tears in my eyes.
————
Grease stained, sweaty and reeking of oil, I finally emerged from under the Falcon with Chewie at my side. She’d be fine, but it had taken a lot of hands to get everything repaired. Poe had done more damage than I’d ever seen done to her, it truly was a miracle they’d made it back alive.
“Can you tell me something?” I asked Chewie as I rubbed furiously at a splotch of grease on my palm, “Was lightspeed skipping really the only way to get out of whatever was going on?”
Chewie groaned his response, telling me that while he didn’t like it at all, he hadn’t come up with any other ideas as to how to survive the TIE attack.
I sighed, partially from exhaustion but also from lingering frustrations, “So do you think I’m being too hard on Poe? I mean, I’m pissed that he did this to Dad’s ship but…if it was the only way to stay alive then…”
My honorary uncle agreed that Poe had probably done the right thing, but by no means was he pleased about what happened to the Falcon. Chewie was just as protective of the Solo family ship as I was.
I hummed in reply as I thought the day’s events over, wondering how much worse it was going to get at the briefing that was only moments away. The intel Poe and Finn had brought back had been being decoded all afternoon and now we were finally going to find out what had been discovered. If the rest of the day had been any indication of how the briefing was going to go, it wasn’t going to be good.
I weaved my way through the growing crowd underneath Tantive IV, scanning faces till I found my mother. When I spotted her, there was no way to get to her. I also was in no condition to stand at the front of the entire Resistance, I’d probably have black oil stains on my skin for days. I slipped in between Connix and Snap, patting the pilot on the shoulder as I took my place.
Poe stepped forward once everyone had assembled, he’d been tucked away in the command center all day during the decoding process. Just before he started speaking, his eyes sought me out for the first time since our argument. All anger had drained from his face, replaced with concern and confusion. I furrowed my brows, silently asking what was wrong from across the crowd, whatever he’d heard had been troublesome…
“We’ve decoded the intel from the First Order spy and it confirms the worst,” he paused to look down and sigh, “Somehow, Palpatine returned.” I wished I could have said I was surprised.
Mom and I caught each other’s eye, our worst suspicions having been confirmed. It was another moment where I realized fairness didn’t exist for some people, one of them being her. My mother had already fought a war against the Emperor, she’d lost her home in the crossfire, and somehow he lived to give her more sorrow. My heart ached at the hardened, yet vulnerable, look that flashed across her face.
“Wait, do we believe this?” Rose asked from her position near me.
“It cannot be, the Emperor’s dead,” Admiral Aftab exclaimed. “Dark science,” Beaumont explained, his eyes widened with shock, “Cloning. Secrets only the Sith knew.” “He’s been planning his revenge. His followers have been building something for years,” Poe continued, “The largest fleet the galaxy has ever known. He calls it the Final Order. In 16 hours, attacks on all free worlds begin. The Emperor and his fleet have been hiding in the Unknown Regions. On a world called Exegol.”
R2 started chirping frantically from behind me.
“Exegol does not appear on any star chart, but legend describes it as a hidden world of the Sith,” 3PO translated to the group.
“There were always whispers of his hunger to cheat death,” Beaumont said with a shake of his head. I hadn’t heard of cloning having been done since the formation of the clone army decades before. It all seemed like an explanation you’d find in a children’s storybook, but it was our reality.
Mom had gone to stand next to Poe, conversing on how Palpatine had been pulling the strings since the very start of our problems, as we swallowed the information amongst ourselves. I didn’t know where I fit into any of what was going on around me, all I knew was that I needed to be at the helm of the fight. The something that I’d been training for was upon us and after hearing the details, I knew it would be uglier than I’d imagined.
“If we want to stop him, we must find him,” Maz said to the group, “We must find Exegol.” “General, Commander Solo?” Rey interrupted, I hadn’t even noticed she’d slipped away and returned, now carrying a book under her arm, “Can I speak with you both?” I nodded before snaking my way through the crowd, me and Mom followed her back to her station where she laid out one of the Jedi texts for us to see. “I know how to get to Exegol,” she said confidently.
“Tell me,” Mom urged as my eyes skimmed the pages of the dusty book Rey had poured over. “Luke searched for it, for a long time. He nearly found it. There are ciphers here I can’t read but he said to get there, you need one of these,” she pointed to a small triangular object, “A Sith wayfinder. They’re compasses that lead the way to Exegol. To stop what we both know is coming…I need to finish what Luke started. Find Exegol. Find the Emperor.” “She’s right,” I endorsed my friend’s idea wholeheartedly, “If Uncle Luke made it this far, he’s already done half the work for us. Look, it says the last place he’d been when searching for one was on Pasaana. This is our shot at stopping this.” Mom regretfully shook her head and shot us down with a single syllable, “No.”
“We don’t exactly have any other options,” I said confusedly, “We’ve got a set course right in front of us, we need to chart it.” “I don’t want to go without your blessing, I can’t speak for Y/n, but I will,” Rey said with conviction in her eyes, “I will. It’s what you would do.”
I watched expectantly as we awaited Mom’s answer, knowing that we both made too much sense for her to say no again. The good news was if she did, we didn’t technically need her permission. I owned my own ship and I didn’t need to order Rey to come with, one way or another we were getting to Pasaana.
“You two can go,” Mom finally relented, “But I hope you both understand just how critical this mission is. There’s no room for error, we have a little over one day to stop the attack.” “And we will,” I quickly assured her, “There’s nobody more suited for this task than us.” “I can’t argue there,” Mom admitted with a sigh, looking up proudly at her two Padawans, “Get what you need, you’ll leave immediately.”

how I would fix star wars
inevitably, I have been thinking about How I Would Fix Star Wars, and make the parts of TRoS that displeased me into a more coherent story.
unfortunately, to do so will require the use of a time machine and veto power over the Lucasfilm Story Group. but IF I had those things here is what I would do:
I actually would not make a lot of changes to TFA. The main ones would be:
toning down Starkiller a bit as a threat, to a one-shot-per-planet deal but with a faster recharge time
slightly more stormtrooper stuff -- establish what Finn’s leaving behind and give Phasma a little depth.
if possible, put some kind of distinguishing visual marker on the trooper who marked Finn’s helmet.
a small background detail that isn't important yet: after the village massacre at the beginning, show stormtroopers collecting the bodies, trooper and villager alike. if possible, do this after every scene with a significant body count, throughout all three movies.
either give the knights of ren some actual stuff to do or cut them out entirely
show kyle chafing at snoke’s leash, maybe demanding to know more about some of snoke’s various Secret Projects, and being dismissed
give rey a little time to settle in with the Resistance before leaving to find Luke. we don't have to show it much, just make it clear that she’s making a home there and has bonded strongly with Leia
clean up some weird pacing and make the travel times/distances between planets more consistent
honestly other than that I wouldn't change much. I genuinely like TFA a lot and its strength is in how well it establishes the new characters.
for TLJ, some bigger changes but the bones of it I'd leave alone:
make it more clear why the tracking through hyperspace is a big deal and make the solution less of a fetch quest
I really like parts of the Canto Bight plot but I would probably swap it out for something with more stormtroopers in it -- let Finn interact with other troopers and remind us that there are individuals under those helmets
(a recurring joke: Finn can always tell troopers apart when they’re in uniform, and Rose can never figure out how. he thinks it’s because he was a trooper, but no, it's because he’s Force sensitive)
maybe get close to convincing some of them to desert, but either they fail last-minute or the deserters get caught and killed
Finn and Rose escape by the skin of their teeth thanks to a trooper who helps them, letting them know that even if they aren't brave enough to leave, there are plenty of troopers who aren't all-in with the First Order
again, after any major fight show the body cleanup. troopers carrying and stacking the dead in neat rows. start hinting that there is something more ominous here than fanatical tidiness
the Snoke stuff -- make it more obvious that Snoke is orchestrating stuff other than just running the First Order. maybe have Hux ask about the cargo ships they're sending to the Unknown Regions, and get shot down
make part of Kyle’s refusal to leave w Rey due to his burning need to Know All The Secrets, and conviction that as Supreme Leader he could really clean up the joint
once Snoke is dead, show Kyle getting access to his secret files/vaults; do NOT show what he finds there
I'd also want to clean up some wonky pacing and timeline/travel distance stuff, probably, but again I really like most of the movie so it’s nothing major
also keep Phasma around for the next movie! what the fuck, she rules, why would you not
okay so that brings us to TRoS, which… would need a pretty major overhaul.
First of all, we are working under the assumption that I have a time machine, so I made Carrie Fisher go to the cardiologist on the reg starting on day 1 of TFA rehearsals, and she’s fine and able to play the part as she was meant to.
with that in place, here’s how I would restructure:
we keep the Hammer Horror opening scene, but tweak the Emperor’s reveal. he’s much more corpse-y, without the tech umbilical keeping him alive -- a wraith animated by Dark power.
lots of grandiose claims about his unstoppable army and his impending dominion over the galaxy, ultimate triumph over the Light, etc
don't show the armada yet -- just kyle’s reaction, which is genuine fear.
news of the Emperor’s return isn't a broadcast, but a whisper. a transmission from a terrified First Order cargo pilot, who’s learned the truth about his one-way trip to the Unknown Regions. passed through the lower ranks by rumor and hearsay. eventually leaked to the Resistance by an unknown First Order source
I like the idea from the beginning of the movie, that Rey’s trying to speak to dead Jedi through the Force. but it’s not working, and she shares her frustration with Leia
make it clear that she and Leia have a deep, strong bond.
give Rey a Jedi artifact to hunt for. maybe there’s a place or a thing that she thinks will let her commune with fallen Jedi, and that’s what they go looking for.
that lets us keep some of the fetch quest, but the First Order’s not as actively on their tail.
they keep crossing paths anyway, and every time there are troopers doing something worse. maybe at one point they see troopers refuse to massacre civilians, and being killed themselves instead.
also they take Rose with them, because this movie needs more Rose
still have those post-battle scenes of body cleanup. now the cleanup crews are being killed once they’re done
this could be a good use for the Knights of Ren, actually. whatever is happening, they're part of it
Leia is more active throughout: she's on the move, recruiting allies for the Resistance, trying to figure out what's happening in the Unknown Regions
she has an actual scene with Lando, and he goes to Rey on her orders
tweak Poe’s backstory with Zorii. he worked with her while undercover for the Resistance, and left them in the lurch when the General needed him back.
he’d have recruited her, if there had been time, but now he's glad he didn't: most everyone Poe recruited to the Resistance died at Crait.
when Rey crosses paths with Kyle, he’s obviously rattled. he Knows Something that he won't or can't tell her and he's even more fatalistic than usual.
lean harder on the unease/whispers of dissent in the First Order as they're told to do more and more awful things. maybe a scene where someone -- not Hux -- disagrees openly, and Kyle says something that implies that he's getting orders from someone above his head.
this gives Hux a chance to snark at Kyle -- isn't he supposed to be the Supreme Leader, now? who's telling him what to do?
off Kyle’s reaction -- someone is telling him what to do, and he's terrified of them in a way he never was of Snoke.
(keep Hux-as-informant, that was done perfectly)
Rey’s artifact hunt still takes her to the Death Star wreckage, off rumors that Palpatine hoarded Jedi artifacts.
we meet Janna &co. Finn is so relieved and happy to meet other troopers who survived defecting. Janna tells him that there used to be more, that it used to be easier to get out, but more and more troopers have been killed in the attempt, without escaping.
by now it’s clear: there is Something Wrong With The First Order, beyond the obvious.
Rey fights Kyle in the Death Star ruins. Kyle tells her the Emperor wants to turn her to the Dark Side, that he can’t be refused or stopped, that even death won’t let her escape from him.
the fight plays out similarly, but Leia’s distraction doesn't kill her.
after Rey heals him, Kyle faces his fear and talks to Leia via Force bond. He tells her what the Emperor is planning, and it’s Ben Solo who leaves the ruins.
he can give Leia files or some other concrete proof via the same trick he uses with Rey in the movie, because that’s honestly very cool and it was used really well, so we’re keeping that
when Rey talks to Luke on Ach-To, he tells her that Palpatine used the Empire to sow chaos and fear, because that made the Dark Side stronger and gave him more power to tap into.
Luke says: “I think he would have been happy to burn the whole galaxy down, as long as he could rule over the ashes.”
Rey realizes she can’t hide from the Emperor, and knows he’ll never turn her to the Dark. she goes after him.
Leia sends the Resistance to back Rey up and sets out to rally the galaxy with Lando and Chewie
finally, it’s confrontation time! Rey faces Zombie Palpatine, and he reveals his plan in all its glory:
he’s built an army of the dead. ghost ships, crewed by all those bodies we've been watching the First Order collect for three movies.
some of them we recognize, if we’re paying attention: the trooper who marked Finn’s helmet, Lor San Tekka, Hux. there are long-dead clone troopers, little more than skeletons in filthy white armor. half-functional Separatist droids. Resistance fighters and First Order officers killed on Crait. countless civilians.
they’re all dead, all animated by Palaptine’s Dark Side powers, fueled by the strife and chaos he continues to sow throughout the galaxy
he doesn’t want to blow up any more planets. he wants to kill the shit out of absolutely everyone: the end of all life, and all Light. everyone in the galaxy a soldier in his undead army
he wants Rey to strike him down and become the new Sith Empress, ruling over an empire of ashes.
but we are discarding the granddaughter shit, because frankly it is not necessary and makes no sense.
he can just be like ‘ah yes, a feral desert child, powerful in the Force, with no inconvenient ties to hold her back. I've had good luck with those, mostly.’
now, a brief side trip: what is the First Order doing, in the midst of all this?
well, the rank and file are actually not super down with the ‘join the glorious army of the dead’ plan. half of them are in open revolt; some try to run, some seize control of their ships and decide to fight for the living
Phasma leads Team Living. yeah, I kept her for a reason! Gwendoline Christie is great at this!
Ben shows up as before, fights the Knights, does the cool lightsaber trick with Rey. he fights with Leia’s saber.
when Palpatine drains their life force to restore himself, though, something happens differently:
it’s actually Leia’s life force. she gives up her life for her son and for the daughter of her heart, willingly and gladly, knowing she has rallied the galaxy to their aid. she tells them, before she goes, that help is on the way
the giant fleet that arrives to fight Palpatine has First Order ships in it. finally, everyone is on the same side. Palpatine has been playing both sides against each other since Episode 1, but it won't work anymore, now that they know what he wants. the long con is over. they're united against him.
Rey beats Palpatine the same way, Ben revives her the same way, but Leia’s sacrifice means he has enough juice left to survive it.
idk about the kiss; I am Reylo-agnostic
but he’s going to try to shepherd the First Order into something that builds and protects, instead of destroying.
people like Janna and Finn, who got out, and Rose, who lived under their heel, will show him how.
Finn is Force sensitive, and so are some of the other former troopers.
some of them want to become Jedi
Finn wants to follow Leia’s path: do the training so he understands how to use the Force, but he's not meant to be a Jedi. he's going to be a leader -- not a general, hopefully, but a leader for peacetime.
so like. they won! hooray.
Rey takes the name Skywalker, still. Ben is fine with this: he’s a Solo-Organa.
there can be a touching Force ghost reconciliation, or not, whatever
so. that is how to fix star wars. you’re welcome. if anyone out there has a time machine and an in with Lucasfilm, hit me up I guess?

Tell Her - Poe Dameron x reader
...
WARNINGS: BLOOD, JEALOUSY, LANGUAGE
REQUEST: @poedamneron01 HELLOO! I was wondering if I could have a poe x reader imagine where reader has a huge crush on poe and they’ve been friends since they both joined the resistance, the reader gets jealous of poe and zurii’s interactions. THEN, fast forward to the final order battle, and reader gets injured and poe is worried and like confesses to her. I’m sorry if none of this makes sense but i’m looking forward to the imagine !!!
...
You'd always had a sliver of hope that he liked you as much as you liked him.
The years of back and forth flirty banter and jokes. The number of times the two of you shared a bed when one of you had trouble sleeping due to nightmares. Or how he made you feel safe through every step of the ongoing war. The way he trusted you when he finally opened up about his past and insecurities. The way the two of you just clicked the first time you met after joining the resistance, and only grew closer time went on. That couldn't all just mean nothing.
But that sliver of hope was quickly crushed the second you arrived on Kijimi. You knew from the way he looked at her the chance of him liking you back when from slim to none. It was obvious they had a past, and even more obvious both of them still held onto it.
You had to hide the pain and jealousy as Poe eagerly followed Zorii to the roof to keep lookout. You hated the pitiful looks Finn and Rey gave you because they knew. They knew about your silly little crush without you even having to tell them. Hell, they knew you were in love with him before you ever admitted it to yourself, and for the longest time, they always pressed the fact that Poe shared the same feelings. But now they were silent, not sure how to comfort your broken heart.
After a while, you became suspicious of how long Zorii and Poe had been gone, and why they hadn't reported anything to the rest of you. "I'm gonna go check on them," you announced aloud.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Finn asked, concerned about what you might walk in on.
"Yeah, they've been up there a while, just wanna make sure no one's coming to kill us," you tried to joke, but Finn saw straight through the poor attempt. You didn't say it with an attitude or a wink, instead, you just sounded sad and tired. Not at all like your self.
"Okay," he said softly, knowing he really couldn't stop you.
You climbed the stairs to the roof quietly, not wanting to alert anyone of your presence. You knew it was wrong to eavesdrop in their conversation, but jealousy and curiosity got the better of you.
You listened for a couple of minutes, but eventually, guilt began to set in. You shouldn't be doing this, if you really did love Poe, then you should want the best for him. It was just hard to accept that the best for him wasn't going to be you.
It was when Zorii offered Poe the chance to escape with her that you left, in all honesty, you didn't want to hear his answer. Scared he might actually take her up on the offer.
But maybe you shouldn't have left so early, maybe had you stayed just a moment longer you would've heard him decline the offer.
"I can't leave the resistance, I can't. . . I can't leave her," he confessed.
"The girl downstairs? What was her name again, Y/N?"
Poe nodded, "It's just. . .when I'm with her, it's like time slows down, ya know? Like for a second, there isn't any bad in the world, no war, no First Order, no Kylo Ren, none of it. Like it's just me and her, safe and happy. I can't lose that."
There was a sad look in Zorii's eyes, but at the same time, it seemed like she understood. Somehow she still looked happy for him.
"Well have you told her yet?" Zorii asked.
"Told her what?"
Zorii rolled her eyes at Poe's obliviousness, "Everything you just told me, dumbass." Poe shook his head, "Nah, it'd just fuck everything up, I can't mess up years of friendship over a stupid crush."
"Well I think you should tell her, life is too short and unpredictable these days to not. It sounds to me like you really love this girl, she deserves to know that."
Poe let out an anxious laugh, "What? Love? No, no I'm not in love with her, it- it's just a crush." Zorii gave him a look, one he knew meant that she didn't believe him.
"J- Just because I think she's the most beautiful girl doesn't mean I love her," Poe rambled. "I mean. . . okay, yeah- I'll admit that when she's around it does make my day better and that her laugh is one of the best sounds in the world. Oh, and that she always makes me feel safe when I'm terrified about what's gonna happen to the resistance, and that- oh fuck. . . I'm in love with her."
"So tell her you idiot," Zorii said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "You may not see it, but I only just met the chick and even I can tell you mean something to her."
"Thank you, Zorii, I really mean it."
"No problem, I'm happy to call you out on being an idiot any time."
Poe let out a soft chuckle, sending a small smile to Zorii, which she returned with a breathy laugh.
Poe had completely planned on telling you how he felt after his conversation with Zorii. However, he never got to. Everything started going downhill, and fast. Breaking into Kylo Ren's ship, Rey running off, Leia's death, the hurriedly planned mission to Exogol. Not to mention you'd barely even look at him since you left Kijimi.
Before he knew it, the entire resistance base was in chaos as everyone prepared for what they hoped would be the last battle. He wished he had more time. Time to tell you how he felt, time to cherish another moment with you, and time to create a better plan.
Poe wasn't too happy about the plan at all, well he would've been, had it not been for one small detail. You were on the ground team. You couldn't fly, but you were one hell of a combat fighter and highly skilled in weaponry. It seemed like a no brainer to have you on the ground team, but it was dangerous, and he didn't like that you'd be somewhere he couldn't keep an eye on you.
But there was nothing he could do about it now. Because now he was in an X-wing, dodging blasts and talking his team through their procedures. The ground team had been deployed onto the command ship to take out its navigation system, you and Finn leading.
The battle was brutal, there were about four times as many stormtroopers as there were resistance ground fighters. It was starting to become nearly impossible to gain any ground with the amount of shots from blasters flying through the air.
You, Finn, and Jannah crouched behind a metal structure, trying to take cover. "We need to get to that tower! Finn yelled over the commotion surrounding the three of you. You glanced at the explosives strapped to Finn's chest, an idea popping into your head.
"Give me all the explosives you have!" Finn and Jannah didn't even question you, handing over their chest straps without hesitation.
"If we blow their main control panel we can shut down their navigation tower. Can you cover me?" You explained.
"You can't go alone!" Finn argued, not liking the idea.
"I'm fast, I can make it to the tower as long as you cover me!"
"I say we do it," Jannah spoke up. You gave Jannah a small smile, happy she was on your side. Finn let out an exasperated sigh, "Fine," he grumbled, "Just please be careful."
You nodded to Finn as he hesitantly handed over his explosives belt. "Cover me on three. One. Two. Three!"
You jumped up from behind your hiding spot, swiftly maneuvering your way around the ship's deck, dodging blasters and stormtroopers left and right. Finn and Jannah managed to land a few shots, fending off more stormtroopers from you.
You were nearly to the port which housed the main control panel when a crackling in your ear drew your attention. "Finn! You gotta get that ship's navigation offline!" Poe's voice broadcast over the ear-comms.
"I know! Y/N's about to blow their main control panel!" He responded, before shooting down another trooper that was sneaking behind you. You refused to stop moving, weaving your way around the troopers and shooting the few you couldn't avoid.
"I'm sorry, she's what? Alone?" Poe didn't sound too happy. "Y/N that's too dangerous!"
You rolled eyes, "I can handle myself, I'm nearly there!"
You hated that the entire resistance was hearing your little dispute, but the comms were all connected, and Poe hadn't bothered to switch to a private channel. "Go back now! I'm not losing over this half-assed plan, there's a better way!"
"This isn't your decision Poe!" You snapped, tired of him telling you what to do. You heard him mutter a few frustrated choice words into the comms. Despite his protests, you ended up reaching the port that held the controls. Jannah and Finn surrounded you as you opened the latch and dropped all but one of the explosives into the hole.
"I'm about to detonate, go!" You yelled over the commotion to Finn and Jannah. They both looked back at you before hesitantly taking cover, they knew better than to argue.
"I'm about the blow the tower offline, now's our chance," you spoke over the comms to the resistance. You switched on the last explosive, its blinking red light letting you know it was active. You dropped it into the hole along with the other explosives and shut the port.
You scrambled to your feet and started moving as quickly as you could to get away from the explosion that was sure to come. You only made it a couple of meters before a sharp impact to the side of your head sent you to the ground. A stormtrooper towered over you, his blaster trained on you.
"Rebel scum," he scoffed, his voice modulator making him sound cold and robotic. However, before he had a chance to pull the trigger, a loud noise rattled the ground, and a blaze of orange and red erupted from the control port.
You quickly curled into a ball with your back to the explosion, trying your best to protect yourself. You felt a few sharp stings on your arms and back, and then one sharp stab in your side. A large thud next to you alerted your attention. The stormtrooper from before was now on the ground, a crimson liquid pouring out from his unprotected neck.
You quickly crawled behind another ledge to get out of the main chaos of the battle. You clutched your side, feeling a warm and sticky liquid accumulate.
"You did it! The tower is down!" Poe's voice rang out over the comms, he was ecstatic. Your plan had worked, and now there was no way for the Final Order to escape Exogol.
You'd suffered a few scratches caused by shrapnel flying past, but the piece that was lodged into your side posed quite the threat. Blood wouldn't seem to stop flowing from the wound, and your mind was getting cloudier by the second.
"I'm hit," you spoke weakly into your comm, using all your strength as you tried to pull yourself up, failing miserably. Each attempt sending a wave of pain through your torso. "Finn, I need help, I'm losing blood fast." You knew he had to be close, your best bet was Finn getting you somewhere safe. However, it wasn't Finn who responded first.
"Y/N!?" Poe's voice was frazzled and panicked. "What do you mean you're hit, what happened?"
"Shrapnel from the explosion," you explained quickly, "Finn, I can't move I need you or Jannah!" You were becoming more desperate, the light airy feeling in your head growing.
"I see you, but there's troopers everywhere! I can't get to you!" Finn also sounded panicked. He searched desperately for any possible way to get to you, but each proved more difficult than the last. "Just hang on, I'm gonna find a way!"
"Finn get her out of there!" Poe barked, not exactly helping the situation. "I'm trying!" Finn yelled back.
A numb feeling washed over you, and suddenly the unbearable pain in your side started slowly dissipating. Shock fully took over as your body tried everything it could to make this as painless as possible, almost as if it knew you weren't gonna make it out of this. And oddly enough, your fear of death began to subside.
Up above you could see ships appearing throughout the sky. It looks like the Resistance's call for help hadn't gone unheard. A small smile graced your lips as you watched more and more ships arrive. Lando's voice came over the comms, as well as a few others, but one stuck out to you. Zorii. She was alive. There was an odd sense of relief as you realized Poe would be okay, he wouldn't be alone.
You shivered as you grew colder and colder, slowly accepting you might not make it out of this battle. "I-it's okay. . . It's okay." You muttered, slightly slurring your words together.
"Why does it sound like you're giving up?" Poe said worriedly. "J-Just hold on, you'll be fine-- Finn you need to hurry!"
"I know, I'm working on it!"
"I'm sorry, Poe," you said softly, not sure of the comms would pick of your voice or not. "I'm sorry I've been so weird lately I just-"
"Stop apologizing like you're going to die, you're fine!"
For a second, you thought about telling Poe how you felt, but that second passed just as quickly as it came to mind. You couldn't do that to him, you couldn't put that kind of guilt on him. He deserved to be happy, live the rest of his days out with Zorii and his friends.
"You'll be okay," you whispered out. It was intended for Poe, yet deep down you knew it was just your way of reassuring yourself.
You let your eyes flutter shut, taking in your last few seconds of consciousness. The words you heard next were barely audible, and truth be told you weren't positive it was even real. But the second they were spoken, darkness finally consumed you.
"Please don't leave me, Y/N.”
...
Your breath hitched and caught in your throat, causing your eyes to snap open as you gasped for air. Your head came in contact with a clear barrier, a loud thud echoing in the chamber you were encapsulated in. You immediately recognized the structure, it was the same one Finn rested in as he recovered from his fight against Kylo Ren.
Your fingers found the release lever inside of the contraption, pulling it. There was a soft hiss as the transparent, glass top hinged open. The second you sat up your head began to spin, and a horrible pain radiated from your side, along with a matching headache. You hunched over, curling into yourself as you let the pain subside. 'No more sudden movements,' you thought to yourself.
You cautiously stood up, your movements as slow as molasses. You eventually found some extra clothes in a nearby cabinet and changed into a pair of white sweatpants, a thin thermal t-shirt, and white slippers. As you changed you got a glance at the large white bandage covering your side.
You felt disoriented, completely unaware of what day it was or what had even happened. In your confused state, you instinctively headed for the door. Opening the door, you stepped into an empty white hallway.
You'd been here before.
It suddenly clicked in your brain where you were, the resistance base. Though you were still confused as to how you ended up in the medical wing. Deciding the best way to get some answer was to find people, you made your way to the cantina.
It seemed as though you’d picked the perfect destination, the cantina was bustling with humans and aliens alike. Many of them had bandaged legs, broken arms, and cuts and bruised all over their bodies, yet all of them were smiling and laughing. Your eyes scanned the room, looking for someone you knew could give you answers.
Your eyes landed on a table in the center of the room. Rey, Finn, Rose, and Poe all sat together, and while most of them were smiling and talking enthusiastically, it was Poe who held a certain sadness in his features. His lips were set in a thin line, the corners of them drooping down ever so slightly, and he looked tired, exhausted even. He had a small cut on his forehead, but other than that he was generally unharmed.
Your feet started moving on your own, carrying you over to the table where your friends sat, yet none of them had noticed you in the crowded room. However, as you got closer Rey perked up from her slouched position, fully alert. Finn, Poe, and Rose all gave her weird looks. She whipped her head around to face you, causing the others to draw their attention your way as well. You watched as each of their facial expressions melted into one’s of pure shock and confusion. However, it was Poe who reacted first; standing up abruptly, his metal chair making an awful scraping noise as he did so.
His pace was slow at first, but soon enough it turned to a light jog as he closed the distance between the two of you. Your lips parted to ask him what the hell you’d missed, but before you had the chance, you were completely engulfed in his arms. One of his arms crossed you back, his hand resting just below your shoulder, and held the back of your head with his other hand. You didn’t react at first, completely caught off guard, but eventually, you snaked your arms around his waist, burying your face in his chest.
“You’re awake?” He whispered in disbelief, “How long ago did you wake up?”
You gently pulled away from the hug to talk to him properly. You shrugged, “Five-ish minutes?”
By now Finn, Rey, and Rose had made their way from their table over to you and Poe. “Do you remember what happened? The war?” Finn pressed, yet his voice was soft and comforting. You were about to ask what he was talking about but the second you opened your mouth it was like a switch flipped in your brain.
Zorii. The war. Blowing the tower. Getting hit. The pain.
You nodded your head hesitantly, “I-I think so? How long has it been since. . ?”
“Two days,” Poe said, his voice slightly pitchy with emotion.
“Y/N. . .We won!” Rey’s voice was breathy and full of hope, “Because you blew up that tower!”
“And almost died.” Poe spat out matter of factly. His tone wasn’t aggressive, but you could tell there was a hint of anger in his words. Angry at the First Order. Angry at himself for not doing more. Angry at you for being so reckless.
“I did what had to be done, they were picking us off like flies,” You explained as the memories resurfaced.
“Do you have any idea what I would’ve done had you died? Do you have any idea what that would have done to me?” Poe’s raised voice began to draw the attention of more than a few others. The added looks and attention made you feel a bit self-conscious.
“The Resistance is bigger the individual, we both agreed that its cause comes before ourselves-”
“Yeah well, not when it comes to you!”
You and Poe locked eyes in silence as his chest heaved with heavy and emotion-filled breaths. His eyes were red and had a glossy sheen over them. You searched Poe’s face for any hint as to what exactly he meant, but all you could see was anguish. “I don’t understand . . .” you whispered.
Poe took in a deep breath, “I love you,” he hesitantly mumbled out. “I don’t care if telling you makes things weird or if you don’t feel the same I just- you almost died. And all I could think about is how you’d never know how I really felt and I saw how empty my life would be if I didn’t have you in it. So yeah, when it comes to you, fuck everything else, fuck all of it. Cause it all means nothing if I don’t have you.”
You weren’t quite sure how to react. Part of you wanted to jump into his arms and never let go, but the other part of thought about Zorii and what you heard on the roof. Poe’s face started to fall as you just stared at him, completely unreadable. You noticed his shift in demeanor, and you knew you had to do something, you couldn’t let him think you didn’t feel the same.
Before you knew it, you were moving. Your hands found their way to Poe’s face, pulling him down as you stood on your toes. Your lips met his gently, which was surprising considering how long you’d been wanting to kiss the man. Poe reacted immediately, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you in closer to him.
“Maker’s sake, finally,” you heard Finn mutter under his breath, causing both you and Poe to laugh, breaking the kiss.
“I hope that means you feel the same,” Poe grinned, back to his charming and confident self. You rolled your eyes, “What, you want more proof?”
Poe shrugged, “I definitely wouldn’t mind a little more.”
“I love you, Poe Dameron,” You whispered, smiling up at him. His grin grew, “I love you too, I always have.”

Star Wars x Percy Jackson
Okay so this was a LOT harder then I thought it was going to be on the account that literally everyone in the GFFA is related to one another. So for the sake of my sanity (and yours) let’s just assume that no one is related so I can figure out what kriffing Olympian attributed to them (also we are keeping them all Greek to save me that headache)
Also to keep my sanity I split everyone up by Trilogy/TV Show so just assume each each are a new generation (with some overlapping)--
Also I’m not doing everyone because there is way too many kriffing characters so get ready for highlights and personal favorites. If you have anyone to add, comment or feel free to add! (Last “also”, promise! I stuck mostly with the big twelve to, you guessed it, preserve my sanity!)
Prequels:
Yoda is from Dionysus cabin--FIGHT ME ON THIS. I could not figure out why he talks like he does and came to the conclusion is he is definitely “drunk” on Kool-Aid. Also I like the idea of him growing vines and plants because of Dagoba. He is a camp councilor that’s been around for longer than anyone can remember by Chiron likes him well enough.
Mace is a child of Hades. ... I honestly don’t know why, but as soon as that image popped into my head I accepted it. Maybe it’s because of his stoic personality or maybe the fact he fights in a very angry style, to which I say, “skeletons ripping up from the earth”.
Qui-Gon-- for some bizarre reason the idea of Hypnos popped into my head and I now I cannot get it to leave me alone. So Qui is from Hypnos cabin. He gets a lot of sleep and even more visions of the future (such as a very powerful half-blood coming to camp and he’s now determined to find that kid)
Obi-Wan was tricky. I debated between a lot of cabins and none of them seemed to work for him. I finally settled on Hephaestus, which seems weird but let me explain. Obi-Wan feels like someone who would totally be into arts and crafts, if he could have. Hephaestus cabin usually has a good head and are quite smart
Anakin is from Zeus Cabin. Did you expect anything less? This kid is Mr. Lightning summoning, sword wielding, insane power with way too many emotions. (It was either that or Hephaestus but... “Chosen One” and all that)
Padme is 100% from Athena cabin. That’s it. Fight me.
Palpatine is a weird one because I’d usually just make him a monster or something like a Titan but... eh. I’m going Hermes because this boy knows how to lie and trick people (a lot like Luke, now that I think about it...). A friend of mine also suggested the child of Nemesis, the goddess of Revenge which could also work so pick your pick.
R2-D2 and C-3PO are satyrs. Very annoying, very loud, satyrs. 3PO goes on and on about the importance of nature and R2 follows behind him creating his own form of chaos. Most people avoid them.
Clone Wars:
Ahsoka is also from Athena cabin. I just like to picture her fighting with two knives and flipping around like a gymnast. But she’s more chill then Ares cabin--although she does love hanging out with those boys. She’s unofficially adopted by Ares cabin as a sister in arms so that’s cool.
Ares Cabin just consists of all the clones, okay? It was either that or Hermes but I just couldn’t imagine my boys without their military structure. Cody’s head of the cabin and has to try and keep all of his siblings in line-- very poorly, but he’s doing his best.
Satine is in Demeter Cabin. I wasn’t sure where else to put a pacifist but I thought it suited her well enough. Ex-girlfriend of Obi-Wan but they are on friendly terms (and there is a running bet on when they will get back together)
Rebels:
Kanan was really hard to figure out. I decided to make him Poseidon’s kid because he’s usually really chill in the show. For the most part, he’s really laid back and doesn’t use any water abilities unless he has too. Prefers to fight with a sword, but can use a crossbow surprising well. Has a street kid background so he gets along with the Hermes cabin really well and has kind of “adopted” one of the kids there (three guesses as to who)
Hera has to fly, okay? She has to be able to fly either a Pegasus or actually fly which leaves either Zeus, Apollo, or Poseidon as the main picks, which I don’t think any of those scream Hera. In fact, flip them, she’s a mortal that see’s through the Mist. She somehow got dragged into this world of monsters and demi-gods and is now chilling at the camp just for the heck of it. It may or may not have had something to do with her now-Boyfriend Kanan who may or may not have been on a quest at the time when he accidently destroyed her apartment because of a stupid hellhound.
Ezra is in Hermes cabin. This tiny little thief is wonderful and is a cute little blueberry. Kanan kind of unofficially adopted the kid so Ezra is usually drenched from swimming in the lake.
Zeb is from Athena cabin. Very skilled with a staff and very into battle meditation. Not super into the “intelligent” side of Athena, but he is in no way an idiot. Get’s into a lot of trouble with Ezra because why not?
Sabine I could totally see being the child of Apollo, but she joined Artemis Huntresses (maybe out of spite to her Dad but also because a bunch of warrior women? Heck, yeah!). Very artsy, excellent shot with a bow, and is much, much cooler then her dad.
Chopper is a very lazy, very stubborn Hellhound, fight me on this (and may have been the Hellhound Kana was fighting when he met Hera, but he’s now attached to this strange mortal woman who literally told off these two for destroying her house).
Original:
Luke was almost a child of the big three (specifically Hades for some bizarre reason--don’t ask me why, I don’t know how my brain got on that) but then I remembered that Hecate was a thing soooooo... Luke Skywalker, the son of Hecate, goddess of magic. He manipulates the mist and stuff like that. Also likes to fly Pegasi.
Leia... okay, this is going to sound really weird but I kind of see Leia as a child of Aphrodite. Not obsessed with how she looks and all that stuff, but more like Piper. Very strong willed, determined, and keeps your attention. She fights for what she believes in (loves) and can kick butt. It was either that or Athena but... eh, let’s turn that on it’s side, shall we?
Han is Hermes. What did you expect?
Chewbacca is a satyr. I don’t know if you expected any differently, but I’m picturing Coach Hedge just not... insane. Very much likes to fight monsters and is very protective of Han.
Lando is... tricky. I’m going to go with Dionysus simply because of the party factor, but don’t cross him. He can mess you up.
Sequels:
Rey is unclaimed. She chills in Hermes cabin and has no idea who her Godly parent is... which she mopes about a lot. ((I literally could not figure out who’s daughter she would be because that’s kind of the whole Trilogy. And then it hit me like an out of control Pegasus.))
Poe is from Apollo cabin and can usually be found on a Pegasus. His favorite is nicknamed BB and is white with “orange” spots. Very good at flying and shooting a bow at the same time. Yes, he’s a show off and yes, he’s very good in a fight.
Finn is in Ares cabin. But he’s more like Frank in the sense of he’s definitely nicer then most of his cabinmates. Excellent fighter but does not have that stupid Ares temper... most days (don’t cross Finn or he will mess you up)
Rose gets to be a child of Hephaestus. She’s smart and is an engineer, simple as that.
Kylo/Ben is in Aphrodite cabin simply because I want him there. He’s prissy, full of himself, and a jerk and if that isn’t Aphrodite, I don’t know what is (I’m sorry, I just hated Aphrodite in the books and Kylo was kind of a “meh” character soooooooooo...)

Finn & Poe in TROS :
I’ve already declared my love for TROS, despite it’s obvious flaws, and I’m finally done crying about it, so now I’m here to talk about my more Finn/Poe centric feels. I’m gonna talk about some of their moments that I really liked, and how I “interpreted” them, I suppose.
I’m just here to appreciate what JJ Abrams -- who would’ve made Finn and Poe canon if Disney had fucking let him -- did manage to give us.
# Them being a great fucking team on the Falcon in the very beginning of the movie. I was just excited to have Poe finally flying the Millennium Falcon, but to have Finn behind the gun, making it a direct parallel to the very first time they met and escaped in a TIE fighter... I got really emotional about that. Finn was so much more confident this time around, him and Poe having the same thought. This scene really displayed how familiar they are with each other these days, and how many missions they’ve been on together before this.
# “Bad mood?” “Him? Always.” Again, the familiarity. Poe is dealing with a lot of anger in this movie, which, in my opinion, finally leaves him mainly thanks to Finn. (More on that later.) But Finn knows how to handle Poe’s bad moods, all too used to it, and it never comes in the way of their bantering. Finn has plenty of sassy comebacks for Poe, which is a development of his character and him finding his own personality that I really like.
# When they’re being chased by Stormtroopers out in the desert, and Finn only has to call out “Poe!” for him to execute the rest of Finn’s unspoken plan. Just like they had the same thought when dealing with the TIE fighters in the opening sequence, only this time they didn’t bother telling each other “I was just thinking that”. They just did it.
# Finn wanting to hold everyone’s hand. Ever since The Force Awakens, when he keeps taking Rey’s hand, I always figured this was just who Finn was as a person. Someone with so much compassion and affection, despite years of brainwashing, which ultimately lead to him managing to break free from his conditioning and escape The First Order. My head canon has always been that Finn likes to hold hands with the people he cares about, and the way Poe asks “hands?” when Finn holds out his hand towards him, and just responds with “hands.” really speaks for how many times he’s done this before. With Poe specifically. And I fucking love that.
# Poe being curious about what Finn wanted to tell Rey, and Finn not wanting to tell him. Because, thanks to John Boyega, we know for certain that Finn meant to tell Rey that he’s Force Sensitive. Thing is: Poe isn’t the biggest fan of the Force -- didn’t see the importance of Rey staying at base and training with Leia instead of running missions with them -- and Finn knows this. Which is why he initially wants to tell no one but Rey, because he knows she’ll understand.
# Finn saying The Force is what brought him to Rey and Poe, when admitting to Jannah that he can sense it. Because she can feel it, too. That? Like I can’t even handle that.
# Finn finally trying to tell Poe that he’s affected by the Force, that he knows what Rey has to fight against, when they’re arguing on the hill. However, I can’t tell if Poe understands what Finn is trying to tell him, since the mention of Leia knowing what Rey and Finn are going through clearly upsets him.
# Poe snapping at Finn that he’s not Leia, to which Finn agrees, only for them to return to base and learn that she’s no longer with them. The look on Poe’s face when Finn, clearly upset, agrees that he isn’t Leia, is... painful to say the least. But I think this was the turning point for Poe’s anger. Leia was a great general who lead them through many battles, and Poe suddenly being faced by the fact that she’s gone, and that he’s supposed to take her place as the leader of the Resistance, accompanied with Finn’s disappointment with him from before, becomes a little too much. He’s not Leia, just like he said, but now feels like he should and maybe needs to be.
# Lando finding Poe talking to himself next to Leia’s covered body, giving him the speech about how none of them -- him, Han, Leia and Luke -- had to do it alone. They had each other, and that’s why they could do what they did. Which Poe’s immediate response to is seeking out Finn and tell him “I can’t do this alone” and appointing him to general alongside him. Putting the two of them in charge of the entire Resistance army.
# “General.” “General.”
# Them talking to their forces as a united front, discussing strategy and plans. And then, when they’re still surrounded by everyone, Poe meets Finn’s gaze and holds it, showing no sign of the stress or frustration that he’s been battling for the entire movie, as he tells him: “Then we go together.”
# Poe riding with R2D2 in his X-wing for the final battle, leading their team of pilots, while BB8 is with his second dad Finn who’s leading the ground team.
# Finn successfully blowing up the command deck of the big Imperial ship, and Poe being so damn fucking proud with the biggest smile on his face, oh my god.
# Poe being told that Finn is still on the Imperial ship that’s burning, and that all the other ships have left, and doesn’t even blink before he’s rushing back into the chaos to try and save him, despite his X-wing not being fast enough. This whole thing went by pretty fast, so it’s easy to underestimate the importance of it. But Poe turning his ship around and heading back to where enemy ships are still blowing up is kind of a big deal, especially him being the one of two generals who’d already made it out of immediate danger.
# Finn and Poe embracing on the ground after the battle, which is yet another parallel to them reuniting again in Force Awakens. The smiles on their faces, the way Poe cups the back of Finn’s head and buries his face into his neck-- I don’t even know what to say about that. Other than the fact that these two men clearly have so much love and care for one another, and now that the fighting is finally over, they’re gonna have the time to talk things out, to get to know each other outside of the frontline of a war.
# Finn holding the two people who mean the most to him in the whole universe close while tears run down his face. The two people he believes he only found thanks to The Force.

Ok that was the sequels with the Disney Canon, But MY idea of the sequels would be actually an animated series about Luke’s Jedi Order, it would be basically a Jedi School series with fun adventures and both old and new characters. I know I previously ranted about how I hate both school settings and teenage protagonists but this is different because it’s Jedi School and it’s Star Wars.
So, for this I take what I like from the old canon, other things from the new canon, and drop other things, don’t expect much coherence.
Anyways it’s set about 15 or so years after the Battle of Endor. Things have gotten much better, you know how it goes, the New Republic has grown and the Imperial Remnant are just a fringe junta of all the weirdo warlords of the EU, Han and Leia get married, Lando is chancellor, and Luke marries Mara Jade, because she’s awesome, and rebuilds the Jedi Order.
Since the old method of “kidnapping children” is out for obvious reasons, the Jedi Order functions more like a boarding school or summer camp in Yavin IV. It is much smaller than the prequels order, composed of:
Old masters and survivors to Order 66, like Luke, Mara, Ahsoka, Ezra and a couple others, they try their best but they are ultimately quirky teachers
First generation jedi that were only recently trained like Finn and Rey and still have much to learn
And a whole bunch of Padawans from all ages, species, worlds and backgrounds
The series mostly follows Luke’s son Ben, who is a Very Good Kid with a little of a complex fromhaving such a successful father (and mother) who are praised all over the Galaxy. He’s quiet, shy and isn’t very good with a lightsaber but has a deep connection to the force. He’s friends/rivals with his older cousin Aldera Organa (Han took Leia’s name) who is LOUD, sarcastic, hotheaded, and while overall a good girl WILL cut you up with a lightsaber if given the chance. They’re friends with a pilot jedi padawan from an Andes/Inca inspired world (we haven’t seen that before in Star Wars), a huge Wookiee who plays football (as in the one with foot, not the yanqui version), and a Trandoshan mechanic girl (because they are always shown as villain characters, make them heroes for once). Together, They Fight Crime and we see how they slowly grow from just kids to heroes.
Luke Skywalker meanwhile, tries to be a good teacher. He wakes up every day, drinks his blue milk, and reads pedagogy textbooks to try to become a better teacher, but is very concerned that he’s just winging it all, after all he only got two weeks top of training with Obi-Wan and Yoda included. Everybody assures him it’s okay but he doesn’t believe them. Leia represents the Jedi back at Coruscant, Han trains the New Republic special forces (including New Republic Super Agents Poe Dameron and Rose Tico), Lando is the New Republic Chancellor, R2D2 and C3PO are the official Jedi academy groundskeeper and translator, respectively, and Chewie is just vibing and enjoying his retirement.
Ok, so everything is nice so far. Another year in the Academy starts, all the character meet, Luke and Mara have a parent-teachers reunion, etc. etc. he assures everyone the school is Perfectly Safe, just look at that Togruta lady she has TWO lightsabers isn’t she awesome?
Meanwhile, somewhere in the Galaxy, Han and his Superagents are in a shooting with some aliens who come from outside the Galaxy. They escape in their ship and are headed to the Jedi Academy, Han tries to warn them but the transmission is cut.
So first lessons in the Jedi Academy, Ben is dissapointed that he isn’t as good as a Jedi as the other kids despite being the son of Luke and you know normal school dramas but with lightsabers.
THEN the aliens land. They are like... Vong But Not Really, intergalactic invaders who are able to manipulate and even disconect someone from the Force temporarily, and they are physically very strong. They are a scout team sent ahead of the main fleet to test the strongest force users of the Galaxy and they aren’t very impressed.
They kidnap the children to study them but they escape using Home Alone traps unorthodox tactics. A battle ensues, awesome things happen, Mara blows up their ship so they hide in the jungle at night. The kids are lost in the jungle though, and the Vong close up on them one by one. Just as the leader grabs Ben and does his villain speech, a green lightsaber lights up in the darkness. It's Luke. He gives the Vong leader one chance to free them. The Vong nervously refuse.
Luke Skywalker goes fucking feral on them, Darth-Vader-In-Rogue-One Style, until they finally surrender and free the kids, and then he goes back into Quirky Master mode and asks them all if they are okay. They are, just now are fucking terrified for several reasons.
Nobody is seriously hurt and all the kidnappers are captured so they see little reason to suspend the academic year. They send the Vong prisoners to Coruscant, where Leia resolves to learn more about these invaders before the come, and so the main arc of the series starts, while they fight pirates, bounty hunter, imperial warlords, dark side spirits and all that weird EU stuff, they slowly investigate who the Vong are, what they want and try to prepare for the upcoming invasion.
Other *fun* things that happen include:
Thrawn, who was conspicously absent all this time (though Ezra escaped from him at some point), comes back from the Unknown Regions with his fleet and sees the bunch of jokers leading what remains of the “Empire”. He goes all art student mode and says “hhmmrmm... an empeire need sthe figuer of an empoerer”...
And eventually manuevers over the warlords and crowns himself emperor, and the New Republic has another headache to deal with.
The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda from hit live-action series “The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda Show” appear, he finally found the Jedi after aimlessly wandering the Galaxy, and tearfully entrusts Baby Yoda to them. It’s a babysitting episode where Baby Yoda makes pure CHAOS in the Jedi Academy and eventually the Jedi give him back to Din, telling him to raise him until he’s more mature, much to his delight
Luke organizes a friendly lightsaber tournament to test everybody’s abilities. Ahsoka, Ezra and the rest, who had more lightsaber training than “Obi-Wan teaching me to avoid a floating ball and Yoda making me pile up rocks” wipe the floor with him.
In the villain romance nobody asked for, Thrawn marries admiral Daala in a marriage for convenience and the Jedi are invited to the wedding omg!!! Of course, IT’S A TRAP and the new Imperial couple tell them to serve the rightful galactic goverment, that is, them. And so they crash the wedding instead, it would be hilarious
The kids are majorly concerned about Luke talking to force ghosts and Mara ocassionally repeating orders from a dead Palpatine, and they try to make them get a fucking vacation and therapy for once.
LIFE. DAY. SPECIAL.
Some dark side cultists cloned Palpatine but because he was raised differently in another world he’s just like, an accountant, who gets kidnapped for their dark rituals, and the Jedi have to spend a whole fleet to rescue Some Guy who doesn’t even understand what’s going on.
Of course eventually the Vong invade in full force and the Galaxy is under attack again, the Thrawn Empire has to decide if to follow an old dream of a Sith madman or help the New Republic, and everybody has Choices to make and Tragedy incoming but that’s way in the future to write.
It would be so much fun to have an Jedi Academy series because I’m sure Mark Hamill would LOVE to be casted, the old EU has so much cool things (and stupid crap) to write about, and you have so many characters to make plots and subplots for and make toys and spinoffsHEY DISNEY ARE YOU LISTENING YOU CAN MAKE MONEY WITH THIS YOU BASTARDS

Loved the recent chapter of Dropkicked! I love the idea of Din being Rey's father, but the messages almost made me cry. Can't wait for more Master-Padawan bonding between the four of them, as well as more bonding between Finn and the clones.
Thank you so much! Sorry it took so long to get this chapter.
----
Finn's head was spinning with the sudden changes that he'd experienced in the past few hours. It wasn't a new feeling for him. If he was honest, his head hadn't really stopped spinning since he'd decided to save Poe all those months ago.
After that decision, that one choice which uprooted everything that Finn had ever known, everything had been constantly changing. At times, it had felt like it was impossible to pause long enough to even take a breath. Finn had been dragged through a whirlwind of chaos and fighting, moving through missions, between different bases, and around different positions in the Resistance. The only times where his mind had seemed to slow down were when he was with Poe or Rey or the general.
For most of the first few months, Finn hadn't been sure about what he wanted to do. There had been something, deep inside him that had screamed at him to run, to find a dark corner of the galaxy so far away and well-hidden that the First Order would never find him, not matter how far their influence spread and how much power they took. However, whenever he went to ask the general for transport, for help in hiding (he knew that she would give it without judgement should he ask, in fact, she was the one who offered a few days after he'd woken up in the med bay after Starkiller Base), he seemed to catch sight of Poe fixing his TIE fighter or talking quietly to BB8, or Rey determinedly walking off into the forest to yet again sit there for hours or pouring through books as she tried to understand how to fix the galaxy, and he knew that he could not abandon them.
These people were his people and they were fighting for what was right. And, yes, it was scary and it was difficult and they were losing. But, it felt good every time they helped someone, or saved a planet from the First Order's clutches. Finn had never felt like he was doing something right before. He didn't want to stop and, ultimately, every time he had faltered, that conviction had proved stronger than the fear.
But time travel? That was hard to tackle.
Finn followed General Kenobi to the luscious garden. The first thing he noticed when he entered the room was the sudden increase in temperature. This ship was fancy enough for the halls to be heated even in hyperspace. However, the humidity in room of tropical plants, which was almost like a greenhouse, took the edge of the chill that permeated hyperspace more than the heaters ever could. The second thing he noticed was the frankly ridiculous water feature that dominated the centre of the high-ceilinged room.
General Kenobi led him over to a clear section of glass right next to the fountain and sat down in a cross-legged position.
Finn scrambled to do the same, trying his best to match General Kenobi's posture.
He must have done something right because General Kenobi smiled at him, filling Finn's chest with a warmth.
"I know this must be very overwhelming for you," General Kenobi said.
Finn nodded. "That's one way to put it."
General Kenobi's smile widened a little. "Yes, that was rather an understatement, wasn't it? My apologies, I've had so much practice with phrasing things diplomatically that it has become automatic."
 "That's… useful."
General Kenobi chuckled before he looked seriously into Finn's eyes. "Regardless of the… unusual circumstances you've found yourself in, you are my padawan now, and we will be working very closely together. We will be partners, even above the battalions we will be working with and Padawan Rey and Master Windu, do you understand?"
Finn frowned, but he nodded again. "Yes. You'll be teaching me and I'll answer primarily to you."
General Kenobi nodded. "Of course, given your age and circumstances, this will be a highly unusual padawanship and, as such, we will both need to be flexible and open to our expectations for this dynamic."
Finn blinked. He hadn't expected such a frank and open discussion. Honestly, it reminded him of General Organa, when she'd sat him down and frankly asked him what he wanted.
"Uh… yeah. That would be good actually."
General Kenobi smiled gently, his posture somehow becoming even more straight even as eh inclined his head towards Finn.
"I promise to do my best to train you in the ways of the Jedi and help you gain mastery over the Force. However, I also want you to know that, should the Jedi path not be suited for you, you will always have my support going forward, even if you decide to leave the order. I have many contacts that could help you establish a life outside the Order."
Finn frowned. Over the past couple of months, he had come to accept the fact that he would eventually join the sparse ranks of the mystical Force Users. However, he hadn't been prepared for joining such an organised and established Order.
"And what does it mean to be a Jedi?" Finn asked. "Rey and I tried to figure it out, but there wasn't much… I mean most records had been destroyed and it was hard to find real solid evidence of what the Order really was like… or is like I guess."
General Kenobi put a hand on his chin, pausing in thought for a few moments before he questioned, "What do you think it means to be a Jedi?"
Finn pressed his lips together. "From what I understand of past stories and from what I think… Jedi are peacekeepers, right? They protected the galaxy as best they could and mediate government bureaucracy to try and get fair outcomes. They protect people when they can't protect themselves."
General Kenobi's shoulders lowered slightly. "That's what we try to do. It's become a lot more difficult over the last few years. We… try to do what is right. But you missed one, very important. We are beholden to the Senate. Especially after recent legislation. It has allowed us to have influence within in the galaxy to make it better, but everything comes at a price and we've been feeling it recently."
Finn leaned forward, looking deeply into General Kenobi’s eyes. “There is one thing that I am certain of and that all those in the Resistance, particularly General Leia: the Jedi were good. They helped the galaxy. Even the Clone Wars was... is the Jedi doing everything they can to protect it.”
General Kenobi glanced down, taking a slow breath before he looked up at Finn, his eyes shining.
“That means more than I can say.”
He cleared his throat. “It is not my place to tell you what being a Jedi is to you. However, you must know that if you choose to be a Jedi, you must commit to being a Jedi. It has to be your first priority and you can’t let anything else come before that.”
Finn pursed his lips. “Luke said something similar when he talked about being a Jedi. I think I understand.”
 “You do?”
Finn nodded. “Its similar in the Resistance: the cause comes first. Anything else comes second... came second. We couldn’t afford to prioritise anything over our missions or the people we were helping could get hurt... could have died.”
General Kenobi inclined his head forward, his face impassive, but Finn was very good at reading people, having spent much of his life surrounded by people in full armour, and if he had to guess, the slight loosening of the man’s shoulders belied his relief.
“Good. The Jedi do not forbid romantic relationships, just attachments that could compromise our objectivity or our ability to perform our duties, but I think that you understand that. If you do think that you’ve formed an attachment that will jeapordise you’re ability to make the right decision when it comes down to it, then it will your job to come forward with that and either work threw that attachement or step down as a Jedi before you get someone hurt. The Council has been more... lenient with this rule since the war began. It’s blurred the lines for many but it is still important.”
Finn blinked and absorbed this information for a few moments before he replied, “I agree. Poe agrees too. I... think I might love him but we both knew that there would always be something that came first, even after the war. Poe has always been to committed to saving the galaxy above all else and I... I think I like helping people. And I don’t want something to come before that, not even Poe.”
At this, General Kenobi smiled. “That is... an extremely mature response. But, just know, if you change your mind, you are free to leave the Order. You might not be a Jedi afterwards, but you will still have the support of your friends if you wish to keep in contact.”
 Finn nodded. “I understand.”
General’s Kenobi’s grin widened and he took a deep breath. “I know that this was extremely unexpected, but I have a good feeling about you and your team. I think you will find your place here and I’m looking forward to teaching you.”
Finn wanted to duck his head but managed to stop himself, even as he felt his cheeks heat up. “Thank you, General Kenobi.”
“It’s, Obi-Wan, or Master Obi-Wan if you want to, but don’t feel pressured if you are uncomfortable with that title or it causes you distress. I know the negative connotations it has in much of the galaxy.”
Finn shook his head. “No, it’s ok. I know that it’s a sign of respect. And I never - the First Order didn’t use that word. It would have been too obvious what we were then. They relied on us being too brainwashed to care.”
Gener - no, Master Obi-Wan pressed his lips together then but went on instead of diving into a discussion about Finn’s past. He didn’t think he could handle it after the emotional upheaval. The Jedi has already talked with them about the ramifications of leaving everything behind before their medical check ups and implied that there would be more of those conversations in the future.
“What would be comfortable being adrressed as? I can call you Padawan, or Finn, or even Commander Finn if you would prefer. You will be addressed as such by the troops. I’m afraid it’s rather impossible to get them to use your first names. Cody has only just started doing so, and that is only in private after we’ve already been doing hours of paperwork together.”
“Any of those are fine.” Just as long as they didn’t use his number, but they hadn’t told him his number, so he would have to worry about that. “I won’t have to call the troopers by their serial numbers will I?”
Master Obi-Wan grimaced. “Many of them have not chosen names for themselves, so you will need to address those as their designations if you want to converse with them, but a great majority have decided upon their names and prefer it if you address them by their chosen names.”
Finn nodded vigorously. “Good. That’s good. I can definitely do that.”
Master Obi-Wan’s eyes softened. “I know that the clones’ reality is not right, but we have thus far been unsuccessful in convincing the Senate that they need rights. I know this will be difficult for you. If you are having difficulties, please feel free to come to me or any Jedi Master if you do not want to talk to me about it. We can arrange a way to make you feel better, even if that is you staying in the Temple, though you will still see troopers there. We have found that we like having them there. It feels right and they help the young kings feel safe.”
Both Jedi flinched after that at the reminder of just what the troopers on the Temple had done. The event was barely under one and a half years away. The troopers there still had their chips in. They couldn’t convey their information to the Council for fear of it getting intercepted. There was no telling how safe even the most encrypted comms were and this intel was too important to risk getting out. It literally meant the life and death of every Jedi. They couldn’t even discuss it with the other Jedi on their trip yet. They needed to get a plan first.
“It’s alright,” Finn assured Master Obi-Wan. “Like I said, I know that this was the best option. Without you, the troopers would be stuck with people like Tarkin, and you would have had even less influence than you already do over the trooper’s fates.”
Master Obi-Wan swallowed and was quiet for a few moments before he looked up. “I think that’s enough heavy topics for one day, Padawan. Do you agree?”
Finn matched the other man’s smile and nodded.
Master Obi-Wan shook his shoulders out. “Now, I know that you have practiced meditation, but I would like to see your progress. It is one of the most important parts of a Jedi’s skill set. It helps us connect with the Force and promotes self reflection, which is essential to ensure that you stay in touch with your emotions and feelings.”
“And don’t fall to the Dark Side.”
“Very good,” Master Obi-Wan agreed with a nod of his head. “But also to just ensure that you are aware of your emotions and that your connection to the Force is healthy.”
 “That sounds fair.”
“I’m glad, Finn,” Master Obi-Wan said with a smirk. “Now, would like me to guide you through a meditation?”
“Yeah,” Finn answered without needing to think about it. “I would.”
 ——
Rey couldn’t stop the giddy smile from splitting across her face as she opened her eyes. That was the best meditation she’d ever had.
“That was amazing!” she said. It made up for the long conversation they’d had about the rules of the Jedi (that part really hadn’t been bad. It was nice when people were clear), trauma (which had been painful and left her feeling hollow) and about her feelings towards her family (which had almost made her cry). The conversation had been long and serious, but she thought that her master was convinced that she knew the dangers of attachment - she’d told him about Joie shelf learnt the difference between a healthy relationship and attachment the hard way after all.
Master Windu’s lips twitched and he glanced down at the comm link on his vambrace, “We have time for me to begin teaching you katas?”
Rey perked up, causing her master to chuckle. Rey’s eyes widened and Master Windu smiled at her.
 “Did I shock you, Padawan?”
Rey stammered our a denial but that only caused her master to chuckle again.
“It’s alright, Rey,” he assured her as he sobered. “I am a High General and the Master of the Order, which means I need to present a certain image to everyone. I know I come off as stern.”
Rey blinked before she nodded. “That makes sense. The Order needs a firm leader.”
Her master smiled at her. “However, you are not everyone. You are my Padawan. It is a lot of responsibility for you as we both will be held to a certain expectation when we are around other people. You will need to act respectfully and responsibly. But it also means I won’t be as... stiff around you.”
Rey absorbed that for a few moments before she answered, “I understand... Master Mace.”
Her lips twitched as her master sighed. “There was a reason I asked you to address me as either Master or Mace.”
Rey grinned and Mace raised his eyebrow at her. “Remind me not to introduce you to Depa, your sister padawan. I can already tell that I will never find peace again if I do.”
They shared a smile as warmth thrummed through their newly established bond and then Mace cleared his throat. “Why don’t we get started. The highly unique style of your saber means that you will need to learn multiple fighting styles to master the staff and dual form. However, I think I’ll start off you Shi-Cho forms for a single blade and we’ll go from there.”
Rey nodded in agreement and stood up with her master, unclipping her saber from its stop on her belt and lighting up the blue side. Her master ignited his own saber revealing a brilliant purple colour that immediately had Rey entranced as he started showing her simple stances.
The moves felt good, a little awkward at first but she quickly picked them up, and soon Mace showed her the variations for staff and Jar’Kai. By the end of the lesson, they had moved onto to a slow sort of sparring and Rey felt like she’d actually made progress for the first time since she’d started training.
“That was a good session, Padawan” her master praised her warmly at the end of it, stepping up to her shoulder. “I’ll show you to your room so you can get cleaned up before dinner and then we can complete the last step in making your padawanship official.”
 “What’s that, Master?”
 “Giving you a braid.”
 ----
How was this? What else are you looking forward to seeing? I promise we’ll get some clone action soon.

REBEL | ARMITAGE HUX x READER | PART SEVEN
Tumblr media
CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.
PART ONE | PART TWO | PART THREE | PART FOUR | PART FIVE | PART SIX Summary: Armitage Hux finds himself strangely fascinated by you, a Resistance fighter and pilot, even though he knows he shouldn’t. You know that there’s much more to him than you see on the surface. Pairing: female!Reader x Armitage Hux Fandom: Star Wars Word Count: 4560 Warnings: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER SPOILERS, death mentions.  A/N: First of all, thank you for being so patient in waiting for this one! I’ve had the absolute busiest couple of days after Christmas, especially with work and going to see TROS again on Saturday. I’m a bit uncertain about this chapter simply because I’m terrible at writing Star Wars battle scenes... but I tried my best and did a few drafts of this and now I’m just putting it up so I can move on to writing Part Eight. Anyway, thank you for all the love so far. I hope you enjoy this part – the longest so far! Read it on Ao3 here.
Armitage Hux has never particularly been a fan of hot weather.
In the hours he’s spent on Ajan Kloss, hidden away in the caves of the Klosslands and moving back and forth between your quarters and the Tantive IV – what used to be General Leia Organa’s command ship – he’s witnessed two spontaneous downfalls of rain followed by an unfair amount of sun, and the warmth that came with it was the worst of all. He really wasn’t used to it – on the Steadfast for the past few months, he’s been surrounded by a constant generated cool air. Here, there’s no such thing.
He shrugs off his coat when he sits down in your quarters, even though it’s the lightest one you could find him. He doesn’t mean to make himself too comfortable, though, so it remains on his lap. This is, after all, your place, and not his. He can’t assume. But the thinner shirt is much more comfortable in the afternoon heat of Ajan Kloss, and you don’t seem to mind as much about the formalities of uniform here, not like the First Order. He’s noticed that half of the Resistance don’t even wear their rank on their sleeves.
It’s refreshing.
With him here, now, you feel as though you’ve discovered an entirely different man. Armitage, a Resistance fighter has an entirely different manner to General Hux of the First Order. You’ve taken the time to study the differences in the silence of the afternoon while you wait for any kind of good news, though you fear it may never come.
He sits on a chair across the room from you and stares out the open curtain at the bustling Resistance base outside. The quarters that you live in are nothing special and were assembled quickly, which explains why you can hear the buzz of everyone still talking and working outside. It’s something you’ve grown to find quite reassuring, though you’re unsure what Armitage has come to think of it.
It must be a large change for him.
He still holds himself as tall and proud as he did when you saw him on the Steadfast for the first time, a member of the First Order through and through. He still has trouble allowing his emotions to pass over his face without hiding them immediately, which is something you assume he was taught. Yet sometimes you spot a vague smile on his lips or the beginning of a small twitch of laughter. Every time you notice something like that, you’re even happier that you made the choice to offer him your hand and that he made the choice to take it.
Perfectly timed, and just as you open your mouth to break the silence, a frantic knock sounds on your door. Armitage looks away from the outside, at the door and then at you.
“It’s open.”
The door clicks open and Rose stands on the other side. “Artoo, he’s found something. You need to come and see this.” Her eyes flick between you and Armitage. You notice how her eyebrows furrow briefly. And then she surprises you. “Both of you.”
Poe is standing alongside Finn, Rose, Chewie, Beaumont and Larma when you both arrive. He’s staring down at something on the screen in front of him, a small moving dot, with a grin on his face. It’s the happiest you’ve seen him look in a while. Finn wears an equally large smile on his own face as he sees you.
You lean down and look at the dot yourself. “Is that what I think it is?”
“Red Five – the infamous X-wing of Luke Skywalker.”
“Oh, it’s Rey,” you breathe, and then you laugh to yourself.
She’s transmitting the location of Exegol to you. She’s leading you right to it, and right now you’re more proud to be her friend than you ever have been.
There’s a smile on your face when you turn and look up at Armitage, and he almost wants to smile at you in return – if only because you seem so infectiously overjoyed. “This is your moment. Is there anything we should know before we follow her?”
Armitage stares at you for a moment, shock filling his system. You’re turning to him for information. You’re counting on him for the help you need. The others around you all follow your lead and direct their attention to him, and he can’t help but perk up a little at the attention. It’s been a while since he’s felt useful.
He doesn’t know just how much information he can give you. But he scours his brain for anything anyway because the feeling of being included is one he finds unfamiliar in a good way. Actually being needed fills him with hope, because after so many months of being pushed back by Allegiant General Pryde, he’d started to feel as though he wasn’t that necessary after all.
There’s a buzz in the air as the Resistance runs. Pilots sprint past you to change into their suits, fighters run to the weaponry to stock up on blasters. You notice people hugging, making their goodbyes, and you can’t quite believe that this is it. That after years of fighting, this is the moment it’s all come down to.
Poe gives you a look as he runs off to change, and just as you’re about to make your move to run back to your own quarters and change too, Armitage holds out a hand to stop you.
“Where do you need me?”
“Where do you want to be?”
He pauses. He’s never been in the center of the action. He’s never been a fighter – he’s always been the one to oversee the fighting. To watch on, to tell them what to do and where to hit the hardest. But he knows that he can’t just sit and watch on this one, no matter how dangerous. He can’t sit back, let you and the rest of the Resistance fight your own way out of this and wait for the outcome, whether good or bad.
He has to fight.
“I can’t fly, but I’m not bad with a blaster.”
It’s half a lie. He’s not very good with a blaster in combat.
You don’t see through it, though. You’re impressed, only you hadn’t expected him to offer to fight alongside you. “You heard Finn talking about the ground team he’s leading to take out the nav system? What do you say to joining that team and helping to take it down?”
“I say that sounds entirely acceptable.”
Rose runs past you, and you hold out an arm and stop her. “Hey, you going to the armoury?” She nods. “Can you take Armitage? He needs a blaster. He’s gonna join you on the ground team. Get him kitted up, I need to go change.”
“Yeah, but we need to go now.” Rose beckons him.
There’s no time to waste.
“I’ll find you before we leave!” You point at him, and then you run.
Armitage stands and waits by your X-wing – a T-70 X-wing starfighter, black in colour with flares of bright green on the nose. Rose had pointed it out to him when they’d left the armoury and he’d told her he wanted to wait for you. He’s glad he’ll hopefully be able to pick it out among the other X-wings on Exegol.
And you, you keep your word.
You’re dressed in the orange suit of the X-wing pilots when he spots you, much like the suit he’d seen Poe wearing when he’d walked past him to his own X-wing only moments earlier. It’s a different look on you compared to the muted browns and greens of your Resistance uniform, but it suits you – the look of oncoming battle. You look strong, fierce, ready for whatever awaits you on Exegol. He’s a little uneasy at the thought, but he puts his best front on for your sake.
He’s really never fought like this before.
“I got you a little something on my way here,” you say, and he notices you’re a little out of breath, likely from the chaos of getting everything in order before the attack. You hold it out towards him. “Since your First Order buddies took my last one on Pasaana, I figured we should start over, find a way to still keep in contact. And this is the only way we’re gonna be able to stay in touch when we reach Exegol.”
In your hand is a small comlink device.
He takes it out of your hand and then attaches it to his ear.
“Are you positive about flying? You are still injured.” He tries, once.
You fix him with a look. “I’ve done this before, remember? I’m fine. You are the one you need to worry about. You’ve never seen combat like this before, have you?”
And just like that, you catch him.
He clears his throat. “No, not necessarily.”
“Just… follow Finn and Rose’s lead. They’ve got your back. I know it. We all do. As long as you don’t have a momentary lapse and can’t blast the Stormtroopers… you should be fine.”
“There won’t be any problems there. I have blasted some before, you remember.”
You smile. He’d done it before, he could do it again.
Armitage stands tall, glances at your X-wing and then back at you. “You stay safe. I’ve heard and seen that it’s a dangerous business, flying a starfighter in an air fight.”
“You’ve heard right.” You pause, and then look down at the ground for a second, unsure if you should say what you’re thinking. But then you decide to bite the bullet and do it – because you know you’ll regret it if you don’t. “Listen, if I don’t come back from this– if things go wrong and I don’t make it out alive, which is a very real possibility, just stick with Poe or Finn and–“
He snaps. “Don’t say that!”
It’s the first moment in a long while where he’s truly reminded you of the General Hux you’d heard the stories of. The famed General Hux of the First Order, destroyer of planets, killer of civilisations. His eyes get darker, and even though he looks like a Resistance fighter with his brown cotton shirt and slightly messy red hair, you can still sense his upbringing behind the uniform, the remains of a lifetime on the dark side.
And all at the suggestion of your death.
Armitage realises his mistake too late. He swears under his breath and drops his eyes to the ground. He hadn’t meant to say it like that– he’d just wanted to stop you. “Forgive me.”
He peeks up at you through his eyelashes with slightly red tinted cheeks.
His eyes are no longer dark. His expression has changed from the harsh one to a softer one and you see the Armitage you know coming back. You nod slowly at him. “Forgiven.”
And then you surprise both him and yourself by throwing your arms around him and pulling him into a hug.
It’s a little lopsided. He’s taller than you. But you both make it work.
It takes a moment for Armitage to hug you back. It takes him off guard. He’s never… has he ever been hugged before? He can’t recall. But his father was never one for those sort of pleasantries, and he can’t remember a moment in his past at all where he remembers the sensation of a hug. But then he allows his arms to wrap around you and hold you back.
His first hug, and it’s you.
“I meant what I said. You be safe on that ship, Armitage. You come back.”
You pull away, but you keep him at arms length.
“I meant it too.”
Your astromech – R6-LE5 – beeps impatiently from behind you where she waits at the foot of your X-wing. Everyone else around you is getting into their fighters and getting ready for departure, and she’s urging you on. Time is running out, and goodbyes should be brief.
“I’m coming, Leefive. I’m coming.” You turn back to Armitage. “I’ll see you back in this very spot when we win.”
And with that, he watches as you climb up the ladder to your X-wing and slide inside. As you close the roof of the cockpit over your head and secure your helmet. As your droid slots herself into place behind you.
You wave at him as you start the engine.
This time, he waves back.
Your first sight of Exegol is enough to inspire nightmares.
The fleet is bigger than you ever expected it to be, and your first sight is soon enough marred by the starfighter beside you being blown to pieces. You swerve to the left, avoiding the debris as much as possible, and wince. You’d never thought this was going to be easy, but you’d had better hopes than this.
Below you, the fleet have begun to fire their cannons at you, and you fall back into the habit of flying your X-wing easily. After months of switching between it and Armitage’s TIE fighter, it feels good to be flying something that’s entirely yours again. It’s dangerous, but you’re filled with adrenaline as you dodge the blaster beams and fire back.
It’s not long after that your excitement is squandered.
“The navigation tower has been de-activated!”
“What?” Finn sounds panicked.
“The ships need that signal. It’s gotta be coming from somewhere.”
“They figured out what we’re doing. Call off the ground invasion!” Poe calls in, and you can’t help but agree with him – how can they take down the navigation tower when the First Order has done it themselves?
But Finn has other plans. The channel goes silent for a moment, and then he speaks, more confidently than ever. “Wait… the nav signal’s coming from that command ship. That’s our drop zone.”
“You wanna launch a ground invasion on a Star Destroyer?” Lieutenant Tyce says everything that you’re thinking.
“Finn, you can’t be serious!” It’s your turn to object. “You can’t do that! It’s too dangerous! We have to find another way!” You’re worried about his safety – and Rose and Armitage’s safety too. Allowing him to set foot on the destroyer that you’d helped Armitage escape from hours earlier was too risky… what if you lost and they took him back?
“I have no choice! I don’t want to, but I have no choice,” Finn yells in reply. “We can’t take out that ship’s nav system from the air. Give us cover. We gotta keep that fleet there till help arrives… we hope.”
You dodge out of the way of an oncoming blaster charge and your X-wing spins, but through the chaos you manage to hear two more words – not spoken by Finn or Poe or Rose, or even Tyce, but the voice is still familiar. It’s Armitage, and it gives you the boost you need.
“Trust him” is all he says.
Finn looks at him, eyes narrowed ever so slightly, and something passes between the two of them. It’s not admiration, not love, not friendship, but some kind of respect – they’re words Finn never thought he’d hear Armitage say. But Armitage nods at him once, and Finn nods back, and they know they’re both on the same page. This is the time to be brave.
When the landers set down on the Steadfast and the Resistance begin their invasion, blasters raised among those fighting and firing towards the Stormtroopers that have covered the top of the destroyer in an act of defiance, you try and look for Armitage among them, but it’s a failed attempt.
You’d thought he would be easy to spot, but there are too many people, too many blaster shots and you can’t get a clear look at anything on the ground, let-alone in the sky around you. Smoke and debris floats around you and dodging it as well as the attacks from the cannons is hard enough.
And you’re too pre-occupied with not being blown up yourself.
Below, on the Steadfast, Armitage fights against those he once trusted. He has to admit, it is rather thrilling to fire blaster shots at Sith Troopers and have them fall at his hands. From when he first did it hours ago with the Stormtroopers to now, he feels like he’s getting the hang of it – and he’s not sure whether to like that or not. He’s doing his part, though, and that has to be worth something.
He’s not very good with his blaster in combat, and he dodges a few blaster shots from the First Order several times. The near misses, he decides not to tell you about. He thinks he will tell you about blasting the Sith Trooper that got a little too close to comfort by Rose.
And you, flying up high in the sky above you. He thought he’d have a chance to at least pause and try and find you, to make sure you were still flying and not destroyed by the First Order, but it’s so fast paced and frantic on the ship that he barely has a chance to breathe.
His attention is forced away from worry as an explosion up above knocks the nav tower offline, and he stumbles backwards from the force of it alongside several other Resistance fighters beside him. One of them turns to him, grins and then whoops rather loudly, and he has to smile back.
They’ve done it.
Armitage holds up a hand to the comlink at his ear. “Did you see that?”
You can hear the excitement in his voice, and you wish you could see it on his face. “I saw that!”
“Nice one, Finn!” Nav signal’s down, but not for long!” Poe yells over the comms.
And then the people around Armitage are turning the other way and running back towards the landers. It’s time to leave now that they’ve done what they came for. In the distance, his eyes fall on Finn and Jannah – they’re stopping, looking at something, and then he watches as they run in the opposite direction.
Something deep within him itches to follow them. To do more than necessary. To help them in whatever they’re running away to do. But he can’t bring himself to follow the feeling. He’s a runner, not a fighter. He’d be more of a hindrance than a help. And he hopes you and the rest of the Resistance can forgive him as he turns and begins the run back to the landers, choosing safety over glory.
Any part of him that truly remained General Hux of the First Order, he leaves behind on the Steadfast as soon as his feet hit the ground of the Resistance lander.
It’s exhausting. The constant jump back and forth between feeling like you’re winning and feeling like you’re losing. And just when you think you think everything is going well, when the nav tower is knocked offline, when you start to gain the upper hand, things start to crack and crumble again.
The fighter beside you goes up in flames.
Poe warns Snap about the TIE fighters on his tail. He says he sees them. And then you watch him go down, hurtling to the surface of a destroyer… you’re yelling and you don’t even realise it – another member of the remnants of Black Squadron gone, a friend gone…
You start to wonder if you can even win this at all.
Another fighter close to you is blown up, and you swerve away from it, missing a blaster shot from an oncoming TIE fighter by inches as you do. Your comms are filled with the voices of the other pilots – they’re asking Poe what to do, and you see several other members of your team go down in flames as you hear them.
But what can you add? What can you add to make them feel better?
Nothing.
You’re floating in midair trying to catch your breath when Poe finally tries to find the words. They’re not the ones you wanted to hear. They’re not the ones you need to hear. But he says them anyway. “My friends… I’m sorry… I thought we had a shot… but there’s just too many of them.”
And then… another voice.
“But there are more of us, Poe. There are more of us.”
It’s instinct, how you spin your X-wing around and fly a little higher. You feel like the air is swept entirely from your lungs as you see hundreds of thousands of ships. They came – this time, they came for you.
The exhaust you felt from being whipped back and forward by the winning and the losing is gone entirely at the sight of the ships. Because you know you have this now. Your fleet is bigger, it’s better… and it’s filled with thousands of people from all over the universe who want to see nothing else but Palpatine and the first order taken down.
Poe is clearly invigorated by the realisation “Hit those underbelly canons, every one we knock out is a world saved!”
And you do it. You turn back and hurtle towards the closest ship, your blasters firing at the canons underneath until finally, they explode into a fiery orange burst of hope. You’re laughing as you dodge it and move onto the next one.
You’ve got this.
His lander is yet to move from the surface of the Steadfast when everything starts to fall around him, quite literally. His heart is beating fast from the adrenaline and he’s collapsed onto a crate in the corner of the ship in an attempt to catch his breath when he sees something out of the small window on the opposite side.
An A-wing, falling – free falling through the air, but it looks perfectly normal. It’s not on fire, from what he can see, it hasn’t been hit and– then there’s a flicker of something.
Armitage is on his feet in seconds, standing by the window along with several other Resistance fighters who have noticed something is wrong. It looks like… lightning. He’s never seen anything like it before.
He feels like his heart stops as he sees the familiar black and green of your X-wing following the A-wing rather rapidly towards the ground. He steps back, allows the others to crowd around the window, and tries to reach you.
“Do you copy? I repeat, do you copy? What’s going on? Are you all right?”
Armitage glances back at the window, but he can’t see your X-wing anymore. He falls back on the crate, heart racing just as fast as it was before, perhaps even faster, and holds his breath.
He’d thought things were going well.
He should have known better than to assume something good.
You definitely do not have this.
The screen of your X-wing starts to flicker. Your controls – you don’t have control anymore. You try and move your X-wing, but nothing is happening.
“Leefive, what’s happening? My systems are failing! I don’t have control!”
She beeps, but you can’t make out what she says. And nothing happens. She doesn’t reboot the systems of fix anything, and you fiddle with the controls inside your X-wing but nothing is working. Your stomach drops as your X-wing falls.
You try again. You’re falling – you’re falling and you have no control.
“Does anyone copy?” You call through the comms. “Armitage, do you copy? I’ve lost control, my systems are failing. I’m going down, I repeat, I am going down! Poe, Finn– Armitage, does anybody copy?”
The screen flickers again, and you suddenly stop falling.
Poe’s voice is in your ear like he never left it.
“This is our last chance, we’ve gotta hit those cannons now!”
You’re confused. You’re more confused than you think you ever have been in your entire life. You feel sick to your stomach from the drop, but your systems are back online as if they were never offline in the first place, and behind you, Leefive is whirring and beeping happily. You take a second to breathe deeply before you launch your final assault.
“Armitage, do you copy?” You’re saying the words before you even really meant to.
It’s instinct.
His reply comes moments later, and you breathe a sigh of relief at the sound of his voice.
“Are you all right? Are your systems working?”
“I’m okay– they’re back now. What about you and the others?”
Armitage looks around the lander. “We hadn’t left the Steadfast when whatever that was happened. It didn’t seem to affect our ship. It just affected you.” He looks out the window again, just in time to see you whizzing past towards the ship. They’ve taken off now, left the Steadfast, and he’s airborne again. “I saw you falling.”
“I know. I know. But I’m good.”
If he says anything in return, you don’t hear it. You’re firing on the cannons, and then– the command ship, the Steadfast, the place you’d been on hours earlier and the place Armitage no longer called his home, starts to fall.
Rey joins you in Luke’s old X-wing as you leave Exegol.
You can’t seem to wipe the smile off of your face as you pull your helmet from your head, giving yourself some much needed air. It’s warm in your fighter, and you wipe the sweat from your brow. You hope you never have to see Exegol again.
“We did it,” you breathe. “Leefive, we did it!”
She beeps excitedly behind you, and you grin.
“Hey Finn, Poe– congratulations, Generals.” You follow the Falcon as it speeds off ahead of you and back towards Ajan Kloss. Poe had told you briefly before you left that he’d made the decision to bring Finn on as a co-general. And now, you were certain he’d made the right decision.
Without Finn, who knows what could have happened?
You hear Poe’s laughter as his only reply.
Down on the lander, flying beneath you all, Armitage listens in with a small smile on his face. You’d won. The Resistance had won, and he was on the winning side. Long gone were the days where he wished for Kylo’s loss and nobody’s win.
The comlink in his ear fizzes.
“Hey, Armitage. You hearing this?”
“I am very much hearing this.”
“I’ll see you back on Ajan Kloss, right? The same place as before?”
Armitage nods, and then realises you can’t see him. “I’ll be waiting.”
Your face breaks out into a grin. “Not if I get there first.”
He has no chance.
The comms go out again, and he allows himself a moment to think about how it feels to hear your voice again – this time not frantic or rushed from the chaos of the fight. But just calm, relieved. There’s an edge of excitement in your voice and Armitage likes hearing it.
He had his doubts about the Resistance’s win. When you’d said you’d see him back on Ajan Kloss when they won, he’d walked away unsure if he would see you or Ajan Kloss again. But now, as the lander picks up speed and begins the journey back, he knows he will. He knows that Allegiant General Pryde is dead. He knows that the First Order is as good as. He is all that remains. And he is better than what they became.

Cold Eyes (Dark Rey x Reader) [Part 7]
Summary: You confront Rey after your intent to escape.
Words: 1,680
A/N: The exam season is over! So I'm back at my bullshit!!! Hopefully I'd have a little bit more free time to write now! Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think.
Tumblr media
“It’s a trick” Said a woman around the hologram table, receiving some agreement answer from the people in the room.
“They’re challenging us” said Brandon “They want to end with the Resistance once and for all, we can’t go”
“But if it’s not and the intention the First Order are different they’ll destroy Endor” Said a general.
“We’re talking about millions of lives in danger, Sergeant Brandon.” Calmly said Leia. “If we are given the opportunity to save them, then the Resistance will fall but doing what's right” Most of the people there nodded in response.
"But, General. What if it's really a trick?" Asked a shy woman in the back of the room.
"It's not" said Finn as he stepped into the room. "It's not the First Order, it's Y/N" there was a collective gasp as the crowd heard Finn's words.
"Elaborate" said Leia across the holo table.
"I heard her voice, she was begging me to save people but I didn't understand until I read the message"
"So she managed to find a way to contact you" Leia said impressed
"Yes" he said "I don't know how to but she did. Something big's happening tomorrow, we have to fight"
"Then there's a reason we seriously can't trust this" shouted Brando getting close to Finn. "Y/N is a traitor"
"Y/N has done nothing to betray us, she still one of us and for that we will fight" Leia raised her voice with authority "No more discussion, everybody get ready, we leave in four hours"
******
Your body crashed into the ground eliciting a wave of pain through your body as you hit the hard surface. Turning your head over your shoulder you met Rey’s furious gaze storming into the room, she hadn’t pronounce a single word since the stormtroopers pulled you out the ship but she was pissed, you could tell by the way her face muscles tensed as she stared at you.
“Get out” she murmured and the white figures behind her obeyed. The steel door closed with a loud sound. You waited on the ground for her next move, heart beating fast as you imagined what would she do to you, probably kill you, she had tried it before.
“What the hell were you thinking?” she yelled at you, anger rumbling through her voice as she looked at you. “Answer” she ordered.
“I...I was just…”
“Leaving me” she cut you off. “Just like everybody else” she growled rather hurt than angry. “What was your plan?!” she mumbled after a small pause, you didn’t answer just stared at her face that had a mix of both rage and pain on, but you couldn’t tell which feeling was stronger, but you felt how those feelings were eating her alive, consuming her as the force around her turned darker with every passing moment.
“What was your plan, Y/N?” she repeated rising you from the ground with the help of the force, she dragged you until you were a few inches away from her, your body paralyzed.
“I just wanted to go” you murmured.
“Back to the Resistance” she told you, she was in your head again. You couldn’t let her know your plans or she would change everything, so you tried your best to resist her, for the good of the Resistance.
“No, they knocked me out” you told her with as much confidence as your weak voice allowed you. “I wanted to go to the planet I was born, start over” you lied.
“I gave you the chance to do that, here with me” she said getting her face dangerously close to yours. “And instead you betrayed me” she looked directly into your eyes and you saw how her brown eyes started to fill with warm tears. You could feel her pain in her chest, that was maybe why Rey turned to the dark side, she just felt too much of everything, too much love but too much pain too.
Her face suddenly changed back to anger.
“Lies” she said “You’re lying, I feel it” she scanned your face looking for answers. “Tell me the truth” she insisted.
Gulping hard you took a decision with the adrenaline rushing through your body and the emotions taking over you. You had to break her. You knew Rey or at least you used to know her and you knew that if you wanted to hide your real intentions you would have to hurt her because only with that she would distract herself, blinded by the fury.
“You want the truth?” you told her “Yes, I wanted to leave, I wanted to fly as fast as I could to the other damn side of the galaxy, put as much distance possible between you and me” you told her looking at her right in the eyes. “You know why? Because I can’t be around a monster like you ,that thinks she can choose who lives or die, killing innocent people just because she didn’t want to remember the pain she suffered.” she let go of the force around your body allowing you, finally, to move as you kept glancing at her “But you’re wrong, Rey, it was you who betrayed me, you became what I hate the most”, a lonely tear rolling down her cheek.”is that what you wanted to hear?”
You glanced at her for a few moments as she stood quiet as if she were unable to believe your words, your plan had worked. Then she finally raised her voice again.
"You'll stay in this quarters for now on, you will do as I say," she said calm but hurt "I'm going to forgive you this time but if you ever try to escape again…"
“What? You'll torture me?” you cut her off “Kill me? Go ahead, Rey” you dared her, Rey became silent again and she just gave you a strange look, a very weird one, you couldn't tell what she wanted to say. Then she turned around to leave the small room.
A hundred questions ran inside your head as well as the adrenaline. Why was she just leaving like that? Why was she forgiving you? Had she found out about the message you sent? Had you deeply hurt her? Why was she keeping you alive anyways? She looked so sure of it that day in the woods, you thought she would try it again, more sure this time because of your actions, but still she hadn’t even try it.You needed answers and you wanted now.
“Wait is… is that all?” you blurted out “You just gonna forgive me like that?”
“Y/N, stop” she told you without even looking at you.
“No, tell me, Rey. Back in the forest, you tried to murder me, you told me you were going to but even when I arrived to your ship you didn’t” you yelled
“I rather not do this right now” her voice was already cracking and you could tell by the sound of her voice there were tears running down her face.
"i’m just trying to understand! You could have killed me before why didn’t you?” you told her making her stop right where she was, in front of the big closed door.
You heard her sigh and then she turned to face you, a determinate look in her delicate face as she walked towards you. Your heart raced mile for hour when Rey got closer to you, filled with panic and fear, she would probably kill you now but then she did something way so different from what you were expecting, Rey took your face into her hands, leaning over you she brushed her soft lips on yours. She kissed you for a moment, you felt her soft lips and the way she was feeling inside, it was a chaos in her mind that was tearing her apart. When you started to relax for her touch she pulled away, breaking the small trance she had put you in. She gave you an unsecured gaze and the she left the room without saying more, she just left leaving you standing completely confused in the middle of the room.
*****
Rey left the room as fast as she could, she was hurt, very hurt. She was trapped between mixed feelings, she was furious and yet she was in pain as the tears kept making their way down her cheeks. A pain in her heart spreading fast attracted a shadow that found its way to her mind and confused her even more, the voices called her name again and they were telling her to kill, Y/N. And at the same time there was a bright light that kept screaming not to do it, Rey felt like she was being pulled by some strong forces and she would break anytime. She had to take a moment to control herself before entering to the command room, she cleaned her face and a serious look replaced the tears from moments ago.
“General Hux” she said as soon as she entered, making the poor General shiver as he crossed his arms on his back.
“Supreme Leader” he greeted.
“How long it will take the ship to reach Endor?”
“The ship is right now in the system, Supreme Leader. It would take less that an hour for the attack”
“Make it half hour, Hux” she ordered him
“I’m afraid the engines are already at their maximum power, Supreme Leader” He told her gulping hard, he knew she wasn’t as impulsive as Kylo Ren, contrary Rey was calm, deadly calm and she was thoughtful and just for that he feared her even more, Hux had absolutely no idea of what Rey could be capable to do to him if he disappointed her.
“Fine. Take that planet down as soon as the ship arrive, General” She told him as she walked close to a window to admire tha hot red lava outside the ancient castle feeling how the anger and the betrayal on her chest guided her towards the darkness once again.

Everyone wanted to give Y/N and Kylo a quiet moment, except the intruder from before. Trying to pull something out of his coat he was quickly stopped from the director who was looming over him in his full height.
“Let’s discuss everything else in my buero, shall we Mister Solo? The leaders of your pack are already waiting on the other side of a portal.” the director showed his creepiest smile and Han saw no other way to follow for now.
Kylo watched them leave, before he gave all his attention to his mate who was cuddled up against his chest. It had worked! It really worked, she was a werewolf now, just like him. He wondered why her transformation had taken so long, but he quickly shook his head to get rid of these devastating thoughts. She was alive and that was all that matters.
“Alright, grace period over.” Poe suddenly shouted and all of the others agreed before they attacked them with a big group hug.
“Ow, fuck you gremlins get away from us!” Kylo barked and just now Y/N saw how beaten up her boyfriend was.
“What happened to you?” cupping his face he only smiled back.
“I protected you and I would do it again.” leaning his forehead against hers, he kissed her soft lips.
“How are you feeling, Moonshine. You must be exhausted...”
“Me?! You are the one still bleeding! I’m more exhausted from your reckless behaviour.” she sighed and looked at the bandages.
“This will heal in just two days, don’t worry.”
“Well whoever is feeling worse, we should still bring you somewhere safer.” Phasma told them, as much relieved as the others that they had Y/N back, but their work wasn’t done yet. The Circus had to be rebuilt as soon as possible.
“Why somewhere safer? What happened?” Y/N asked confused until they could hear something crash outside.
“What did you do?!” she immediately asked Kylo who scratched his head ashamed.
“Might have destroyed the camp...” he mumbled very quietly.
Taking a deep breath, she then shook her head with a little smile.
“My chaotic wolf...” brushing over his cheek, he leaned back into her warm touch before she kissed him.
Everyone helped them to pack the most essentials before bringing them into the meadow where everyone else from the circus was waiting. Kylo carrying Y/N in his arms while he nuzzled his face against her neck.
“Is everyone alright?” Sadie called to them and helped to bring Kylo and Y/N towards a small area where they treated a few light wounded.
“How is this possibly… ” she whispered quietly while checking Y/N before taking her in her arms.
“Kylo turned me.” she explained while hugging the older woman back.
“I’m just glad you are alright my sweetheart! You must be starving now after your transformation. And you guys too!” she pointed at Kylo and Rey who where just laying on the ground, groaning with exhaustion.
Sadie shuffled away and for now Y/N laid beside her mate cuddling with him up in a soft blanket before the kitchen woman returned and gave them a few bags of various snacks she had horted for the day after the Full Moon.
Munching on their snacks, Kylo and her were just sitting next to each other in silence while he leaned his head against hers, the little creatures on her lap calmly sleeping while the sun was slowly rising.
For the time being, since they didn’t know when they could return to the circus grounds and start rebuilding, the werewolf let Poe get Kylos car over to the safe space so that Y/N would at least be sheltered.
“You don’t have to pamper me anymore.” she chuckled while he let her down in the mountain of pillows and blankets on the backseat.
“You can’t blame me after tonight...” he sighed while Trico and Morgana flew by his head to cuddle up against Y/N, Mellow following shortly after to hide in the shadows of her hair.
“Y/N!! I’m so glad you are okay!” she suddenly heard a hissing voice scream until Kou slithered up Kylo and made his way towards her. The little snake was crying his little heart out while she held him close.
“I’m sorry for worrying you so much.” kissing his little snout, Kou sniffled slightly while curling up around her neck.
Soon Phasma cuddled up with them in the back seat while Finn and Poe took the front seat to sleep, Rey had made herself a little hiding space in the back of the open trunk.
Even though their home was destroyed, all of them were just glad that everyone was alright and survived this horrible night.
While everyone was exhausted and snoring beside her, Y/N was laying on Kylos chest with her eyes wide open.
Gently lifting herself off Kylos body, she watched his sleeping face for awhile while she gently brushed with her fingers over his wounds.
“I love you, you stubborn wolf...” she whispered against his lips before she quietly left the car and wrapped a blanket around her shoulders, her foster children quickly following her.
“Come here...Darling.” picking Trico up from the ground she loosened the Talisman around his neck and let him run for awhile while he started to grow to his original size.
“That's better right?” she whispered, not to wake everyone else and brushed over Tricos snout when he came closer, quietly purring.
“How about you my fiery sweetheart? Want to fly a round?” petting the little dragon that was curled around her leg he stayed where he was not moving a bit.
“I’m not going anywhere, I will be right here waiting for you.” she reassured her scaled child who slowly made his way to her arms so that she could hold him up before it flew up into the sky.
Watching him for a while soaring through the sky, Trico soon joined him, Mellow who disliked sunlight, quickly rushed back into the car to Kylo to vanish into his raven black hair.
Finally she was able to take a deep breath again, without pain, enjoying the chilly air on her skin and without the worry that her body would just gave out under her, she wandered around a bit, until she noticed the director walking towards them from the rubble of the circus.
Quickly making her way back to the car she gently shook Kylo who instantly wanted to sit up only to hit his head right at the roof of the car, waking everyone else up immediately.
“What is it?! Are you okay?!” he asked frantic while climbing out of the car. Pulling her in his arms, he saw why she had woken him up.
Instinctively, Kylo held her even closer when he saw that his Father was still with the Director.
Y/N quickly held out her arm to catch her dragon who roared at the unfamiliar intruder, same with Trico who stood behind them, glaring at the older werewolf.
“As you can see, Y/N is a Fairy and no ordinary human. Besides now she is even one of your own kind and she and Kylo are standing under my protection. If you have something against that, your pack has to interfere with the Ministry itself, who will be here any moment.” the Director still explained to Han, while a car was coming closer.
“Oh for fucks sake...” Kylo mumbled and immediately shuffled behind Y/N as if he wanted to hide from someone, when a few people left the car and approached them.
“Now don’t be shy and greet your Mother!” an older, beautiful woman spoke up with outstretched arms and Kylo slowly approached her before she pulled him in a hug and pressed a kiss against his cheek.
“Mum...” he mumbled embarrassed while rubbing over his cheek with his sleeve. Y/N started to chuckle when she saw this shy side of him and walked over to greet his Mother as well.
“It’s nice to meet you. I’m Y/N.”
“She is my mate.” Kylo explained to his Mother with slightly red cheeks but a very proud smile.
“You can call me Leia, my Dear, since you are now part of our family.” she smiled and patted her cheek until she shot a glare at the silver wolf.
“Han.” she only greeted him shortly before she continued to ignore him completely and turned her attention to the Director.
“How bad is the damage?” the three of them and the other people that came with Leia made their way back to the destroyed Circus.
In just a day the Circus got rebuild and everything that was destroyed would be replaced by the ministry who would let the werewolf pack pay for the costs.
“It was really nice meeting your Mother...” Y/N mumbled, with her mouth full of bloody steak and Kylo just watched her with adoration.
“Sure, Moonshine.” he grinned, brushing the mayo from her mouth after she stuffed her face with fries.
“Will I always be this hungry?” she asked and pushed her third plate away while patting her full stomach.
“Around full moon, yeah. Since you just transformed a few hours ago it’s basically the same.” he explained, taking his own last bite of steak.
“Maybe we should get you changed and cleaned up now.” he suggested when he noticed the still bloodstained clothing she was wearing.
“That counts for you too. We can take a nice bath together.” with a wide grin, she cuddled up against his side and Kylo quickly showered her face in kisses which made her even more giggle.
“Circus destroyed, got someone back from the dead and the only thing they think of doing is snogging, again.” Poe called over teasingly and Kylo just showed him the finger with a grin.
“And how are the new tents treating, y’all?” Kylo asked while they set down on the table with them.
“To be totally honest we should thank you for destroying most of this place.” Phasma laughed with a few snakes around her arms.
“The new tents they provided have freaking extention charms on them. Yours is almost finished so just wait till you get inside.” Finn grinned, visible happy about this change.
“True that, every little one of my children has there own little bed now.” the blonde woman shook her head in disbelief.
“See my Darling. Everyone is happy with the chaos you have made. So don’t feel guilty about it anymore.” squishing his cheeks together with one hand, Y/N pulled his head down to kiss his pouty lips before she gathered the empty plates to bring them to Sadie and help her with washing the dishes.
“And how is she feeling?” Poe asked while pouring Milk on his cornflakes.
“Good! Pretty good, actually. She didn’t have to transform into a wolf yet so she has more energy than me. I’m just ready to take another nap to be honest.” he sighed while resting his head onto his hand until his love came jumping back to him.
“I have the best idea for our new tent! What would you think of a big hammock for us!” jumping next to him on the bench, his eyes knowingly wandered up to her head before he started to chuckle like the others around them.
“What? What is it? Is it such a bad idea?” she asked with disappointment.
“No it’s a wonderful idea it’s just ...” taking her hand he lead them up to the fluffy ears that were poking through her hair.
“Oh! I got wolf ears?!” immediately she started petting them herself which made her even cuter than she already was.
“Well you are basically a cup right now who has to get used to its powers. It will probably happen a few more times when you get this excited, until you can control your wolfself.” he reassured her before nuzzling his nose against hers which made her smile.
“This will be so exciting...” chuckling to herself, she cuddled back up against his chest, wondering what the next few days would bring them.
-
“I got us pizza and beer!” tired and exhausted Kylo pushed away the tarp from their tent, just to find his clothes scattered around on the floor.
“Moonshine?” he asked confused but soon saw what the problem was.
Y/N was sitting inside their bed, his clothes chaotically placed in a somewhat circle around her.
“I don’t know! I just started and now I can’t stop. And just so you know I can accept zero criticism right now!” without even looking at him she pointed her finger at Kylo.
“Oh Moonshine...” he smiled and shook his head lightly.
“You're trying to build a nest.” he explained and carefully sat down next to her construction.
“A nest? For what? I’m not a goddamn bird!” she huffed while crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“No you silly, you’re building a nest for our cups. That means you’re going into heat soon.” he growled seductively with a wide grin while kissind her temple.
“Cups? Heat? Already? But I just woke up a few days ago...”
“Your body and instincts know best… just try to listen to them and I hate to say it but … if you want to know better you could ask Rey about the whole female view about it.” watching her for a moment, Kylo gently brushed over her arm. “How about we eat first and after that I help you...” pressing another kiss against her temple, she suddenly held onto him.
“We could have cups?” she asked again, her voice so hopeful, and he nodded before carefully leaning his forehead against hers. “Do you want to? Because if we let it happen, we will definitely have some.” laying his arms around her, she soon cuddled up against his chest.
“I don’t want to waste anymore of our time together … The last time we thought we had all the time in the world it was suddenly stolen from us… wait, some? How many would we have?” she asked suddenly surprised and looked back up at him.
“Werewolfs rarely have just one child in one pregnancy when it happens during their rut.” he explained.
“Lets eat before the food gets cold and I explain everything to you.” brushing over her head, she nodded while making space in her chaotic first build nest so that he could join her.
Making themselves comfortable while they munched on their pizza, Kylo explained to her what it would change for them if they really decided to give into their instincts and would have children.
“I mean we could always still wait, there is no ru-”
“I want cups.” she interrupted him and he looked down at her head that was resting on his chest.
“Remember in the hospital…?”
“How could I forget...” Kylo sighed, the thought still giving him chills.
“You were telling me not to leave you alone...” Y/N quietly whispered and he was shocked that she had even heard him in her weak state at the time.
“And I thought, that we didn’t even have the time to really plan our family. That I would leave you completely alone. And if something should ever happen again I want you to have at least a piece of me left with you...” hearing her voice break it immediately tucked at his heart strings and he wrapped his arms tight around her body.
“Oh Moonshine …”
Y/N slowly robbed her way onto Kylo and brushed her tears away before she sat up on his lap. “Would you want some right now?” brushing over his chest he started to grin slightly. “You know I never could resist you...” he growled and let his hands wander up her side.
“Besides, I actually would love the idea to have a few little ones of our own, I guess our other little monsters warmed me up to the idea.”
“Perfect!” with one motion Y/N had pulled off her shirt and attacked him with kisses.
“Wait right now?!” he shouted surprised but already chuckled against her soft lips. Both of them giggling like lovestruck teenagers.
-
Walking through the leaf covered paths between the tents, Y/N tried to pull the cardigan closer around her figure.
She was on her way to the big tent, since Kylo would finish his training at any minute. They had just arrived at this town yesterday and she was sure they would get to see the first snow of the year here.
Turning around the next corner she was suddenly attacked by three energetic bundles of joy.
“Mommy are they here already?!” one of the children called while it’s fluffy tail was wagging behind it.
“Sorry, my Darling but you still have to be patient.” Y/N told her little girl while one of the boys lifted her sweatshirt.
“Are you sure?” he asked and patted against the round baby belly.
“Yes my sweetheart, I’m pretty sure.” brushing over his head, she saw the little wolf ears poking out between his black curls.
The second boy was trying to shout out to the two babies inside of her, remembering them to wake up and come out to play.
Suddenly a loud and deep howl echoed through the area and the triplings gathered around their fathers legs to howl with him.
Lifting all three of them up with one arm, Kylo gave each of them a light headbutt.
“Didn’t I tell you little devils to go easy on your Mother?!” he asked them and they quickly started to pout.
“Oh don’t be so harsh to them… They are just excited to meet their new siblings.” Y/N cooed while pressing a loving kiss on each of their heads.
“Doesn’t mean they can run you over, my Love.” leaning down, Kylo gave her a gentle kiss on her smiling lips.
“EW!” the three rascals quickly jumped away from their fathers arm to run away.
“Hey where are you going?” he called after them with a wide grin.
“Stop teasing them so much, my Darling.” cuddling up against his side, Y/N looked after the three while they started to play catch.
“As soon as their little siblings are here they will realise how easy I was on them.” Kylo snickered and let out a barking laugh.
Shaking her head a little she suddenly grinned before taking Kylos hand to lay it on her round belly.
He could feel the usual kicks against his hand and his lips curled up in the widest smile.
Laying his arm around his beautiful mate he kissed her temple.
“Mommy!” her little girl, Trico hanging in her arms, was running back to them and quickly grabbing her mother's hand.
“Luke heard whispers in a cave nearby. Do you think it is another friend?”
“It could be, my little Sunshine. We will have to find out.” brushing through her little girls hair, Y/N walked alongside her gently smiling while Kylo followed a bit behind with a grin.
Soon they could see their two boys and the dragon stalking around the entrance of a small cave, where Y/N could hear the voice her son had noticed.
“What do you think, Darling? Do you want to help whoever it will be?” she asked her boy who nervously stared into the dark.
“Dad will help you. And you can take Morgana with you, he can light the way.” encouraging him, Kylo already lifted him up and sat him on his shoulders.
“Mommy can’t go so you have to help this time.” his father explained and the little boy hold tightly onto his father's head before he nodded.
After around half an hour while Y/N waited outside with the other two who started to play hide and seek, they soon could feel rumbling footsteps coming closer. Kylo came out of the cave, no sign of their little boy until a rubble of stone came out of the cave, a big figure made of stone standing in front of them her boy on it’s shoulders.
“Look mommy! It’s a golem!” he shouted excited and lead the creature out of the cave.
“You did great! I’m so proud of you!” Y/N called up to him, while shooting Kylo a light glare.
“What? He is fine up there.” Kylo shrugged his shoulders before soothing her with a gentle kiss on her soft lips.
Lifting her brow slightly her eyes softened, before she cuddled up against Kylos side, their children had already started to lead the golem towards the circus.
“They are wonderful siblings, even though Luke is the only one who can talk to creatures they support him.” she whispered and Kylo nodded proudly.
“Yeah, they will be wonderful when the other two will arrive.” laying his big hand against her belly, he could feel another nudge against it.
Bringing the golem back to their camp, Luke had the responsibility to translate for the director which he mastered perfectly.
With flushed cheeks he cuddled up against Kylos legs who picked all three of them up.
“We are very proud of you...” he reassured them, and all of them nuzzeld their heads against their fathers.
Cupping their faces, Y/N pressed a kiss on each of them before they started running through the paths again towards their tent.
It was a normal calm day, Y/N sat down with her girl to help her with her paintings, while Kylo tried to teach the boys how to control their wolfselfs until it was time to tug them in.
Each of them cuddled up with one of the creatures in their hammocks, while Y/N tugged them into their blankets and kissed them goodnight.
Looking at their sleepy faces while Kylo read them a good night story, Y/N wouldn’t be able to describe how thankful she was for this second chance.
Brushing through Kylos black locks, she sat down beside him and closed her eyes after resting her head on his shoulder, his deep voice echoing through the tent while she gently brushed over her round belly.

———————
“What do you mean you’re leaving?!”

“Uncle Luke says he wants me to train as a Jedi. Can you believe it?”
Ben was 14 and Y/n 11 when Luke Skywalker paid the Solos a visit to their home on Chandrila. They didn’t see their uncle often but when he came, he came with plenty of stories to tell. But this time, Luke had come to have a private discussion with Han and Leia before pulling Ben into it as well. Y/n had had her ear pressed against the door of her mother’s office trying to hear their conversation before remembering the door was soundproof. She waited anxiously in their kitchen, listening to C3-PO drone on about something she didn’t care about enough to remember. A while later Ben exited, looking simultaneously excited and sorrowful, and took her out to the backyard.
“But-but you can’t just leave! What about me and Mom and Dad and Chewie?” she cried, gesturing to their home.
“Y/n, this is something I have to do. You know how badly I want to be a Jedi and now I have the chance.” Ben responded, “And you can too.”

Y/n’s brows drew together, “What are you talking about?”
“Tell Uncle Luke that you can use the Force, he’ll want to train you too!” Ben said, hope rising in his voice.
Y/n groaned and covered her face with her hands, “Ben, what have I been telling you for years? I don’t want these powers, I didn’t ask for them and I don’t want anybody to know!”

“I don’t understand why you want to keep this hidden. If you use them right, they’re nothing to be afraid of. And if you came, we wouldn’t have to be separated.” Ben argued, gesturing between the two of them.
“Last time I used them, I slammed you into a control panel. They are most definitely something to be afraid of, and I’m not going to risk hurting anyone again.” Y/n replied, ‘I love you Ben, I don’t want you to go but I can’t follow you.”

Ben shook his head and his eyes bore into her, “You’re being selfish, you could become something great and you’re choosing to sit here and do nothing. Never mind the fact that I’m asking you to come with me and-

“BEN, DROP IT! I’M NOT GOING!” Y/n yelled, probably loud enough for their family to hear from inside.
Brother and sister glared at each other, silently facing off in a battle that nobody would win. Deep down, Ben was scared at the prospect about being without her by his side. And deep down, Y/n wanted to go with him and train. She wanted to learn about the Force and how to control her powers. She also didn’t want her and Ben to be separated, she couldn’t remember a life without her brother.
Finally, a tearful Y/n broke and closed the distance between them in a desperate hug, “Please don’t leave me.”

Ben sighed and tried to keep his tears at bay, but he couldn’t control his emotions when it came to his sister. He pulled her tight in his arms and the siblings sobbed together, dreading the near future in which their family would be split apart.
—-
Luke gave Ben one last week with his family before returning to collect him. Han still had reservations about sending their son away, but Leia was convinced that Luke could provide Ben knowledge they couldn’t. She was also sure that he could prevent and protect Ben from going down the road their own father had. Y/n was the only one who was wholly convinced it was a terrible idea, even if it was for her own selfish reasons of not wanting him to leave. But she knew Ben was strong with the Force and that he had potential to be a great Jedi, he could be what she was too scared to be.
So with tears shed, a bag packed and a promise to come back a Jedi, Ben Solo left home.
Communication wasn’t allowed so Y/n became very lonely, 3PO and Chewie couldn’t fill the hole in her life Ben had left. Till one night when she was reading in her room, she felt her brother calling out to her through the Force. He was trying to reassure her that he was okay and still with her. From there on out, though they couldn’t properly converse, they’d reach out to let each other know they were there.
Y/n grew up becoming a contradictory combination of her father and mother. She was strong-willed, independent and diplomatic like her mother, yet reckless, sarcastic and blunt like her father. She assisted Leia with political matters, accompanying her to senate hearings the older she got and enjoyed learning how the government worked. But she loved learning to fly and fire a blaster just as much when she’d return home to Han and Chewie. She’d even begun to use the Force in her everyday life, just small things like levitating a book or pen towards her. She knew Ben would call it a waste of her powers but if this was the speed of learning she was comfortable with, he’d have to get over it.
One night, when she was 20, she woke up gasping as if the air had been stolen from her lungs. For once, she hadn’t been awoken by the usual daunting dream that plagued her. There hadn’t been anything but an overwhelming feeling that something was terribly wrong, naturally she reached out to Ben to make sure he was okay.
There was no answer.
He always answered her. Day or night, he always made sure she knew he was there. She kept trying, calling his name out continuously as if trying to get his attention. Nothing. Y/n knew she was strong enough in the Force to trust her instincts, if she thought something was wrong with Ben then there probably was. That was enough for her to jump out of bed, start dressing herself and tiptoeing out of her room. Her parents wouldn’t allow her to go so she saw no point in alerting them to her departure, the same went for Chewbacca and 3PO.
She quietly exited the house unnoticed and navigated her way through the pitch black night using a flashlight. She knew what ship would get her to Ben faster, though she knew her Dad would probably disown her for flying it. Without a second thought, she pushed the button to lower the ramp to the Falcon and entered it. Y/n had flown it a few times with supervision and co-piloted for her father several times. But never on her own to an unknown location at night, but there was a first time for everything. She didn’t even know the coordinates of where Uncle Luke had set up his training academy, just that it was somewhere on Yavin 4. She settled in the captain’s chair and powered the ship up before closing her eyes, reaching out to Ben one last time. No answer.
“Alright, then I’m coming to you…” she muttered to herself as she brought the ship off the ground and into the night sky, “Please be okay, Ben…”
—————
“Where the hell are they?!” I exclaimed, Finn and my dad shaking their heads in confusion.
“I left Rey in the bar, I thought she’d go back to you guys,” Finn explained.
“Bee must’ve followed her, I can’t believe I took my eyes off of him.” I chastised myself, Poe was going to rise from the grave and kill me for losing his droid.
“Han, Y/N, follow me!” Maz ordered from a few steps above us, our party quickly turned and followed her back into the castle. She led us through the mostly emptied bar and down the dark hallway I’d seen her disappear into earlier. We headed down a large staurcase into a dimly lit, slightly ominous room with a small chest at the end of it. Maz ran ahead of us and opened it, pulling out an object,
“I kept it locked away.”
Dad looked like he’d been transported back in time, “Where did you get that?”

“I-is that...?” I stuttered as I stared at the lightsaber, shining as if it was brand new.
“Another story for another time,” Maz answered quickly before turning to Finn and placing the weapon in his hands, “Take it, find your friend!”
Clearly it would be a while till we heard her tale as the castle shook. It had just taken heavy fire, and it wasn’t hard to guess from who...
“Those beasts!” Maz exclaimed, “They’re here!”
“Shit,” I whispered, “We have to find Rey and BB-8, now!”
The five of us headed back up the staircase, me, Chewie and Dad heading up first with blasters drawn. What we emerged to see was a conplete 180 from the scene we’d left only moments ago. First Order ships were roaming the sky, shooting what remained of Maz’s once beautiful castle. Dad pulled me out from under the debris and placed himself as a human shield in front of me. He shot at incoming troopers to his right, while I took down the ones to our left.
“Come on Chewie!” Dad yelled as the three of us made our way through the rocky battlefield.
“Remember when I was a kid,” I yelled as we ran through the architectural wreckage, “And you used to tell me stories about fighting in the war?”
“Yeah?” Dad yelled back as we dodged enemy fire.

”And I said I wanted to fight the bad guys with you one day?” I continued, loud enough to still be heard over the overhead TIE.
We dove behind a large chunk of debris just as a shot was only a few feet away from taking us out of the game for good. I slammed my back against the piece of rock panting,
“Not as fun as I thought it was going to be.” I remarked, causing my father to laugh before resuming firing.
We formed a barricade of sorts, me and Dad each taking a side while Chewie stood between us so we were covered from all angles. Good news was that we all knew what we were doing so there weren’t many close calls. The three of us worked together like a well oiled machine and if we weren’t fighting for our lives, I’d start to ache for the days where we weren’t separated.
“Hey,” Dad motioned to Chewie’s bow caster, “Can I try that?”
Chewe handed it to him and Dad peeked out from behind our cover to take a shot, sending troopers flying back a couple feet.
“I like this thing.” Dad remarked, handing the weapon back to Chewie as I scanned the battlefield for Finn. I was shocked to see him taking troopers down one by one with the lightsaber. He was surprisingly good for someone who’d never picked one up. Until one came at him with an electric mace and Finn had to swing wildly to dodge him.
I took off running, ignoring my dad and Chewbacca yelling my name. I trusted them to cover me as I crossed the field to Finn. He was simply outmatched against the trooper who had just shocked him with his weapon and sent Finn flying back. From the angle I was coming at, I was going to be right behind the trooper, allowing me the element of surprise. He was raising his mace above Finn, ready to kill and not simply injure. Without thinking, I holstered my blaster and unlatched my lightsaber from the inside of my jacket before igniting it. I took hold of the Stormtrooper’s shoulder and pulled him back into the blue blade, the end sticking out of his chest. Once I was sure he was dead, I pulled the blade out and wrenched him to the side to reveal a stunned Finn staring up at me. I deactivated the saber and latched it back inside my jacket before helping my friend up,
“Don’t mention this to a soul.”
Finn nodded passively as he tried to catch his breath, we turned to see my dad and Chewbacca jogging towards us. They wore the same shocked expressions Finn did and I realized that it was highly likely my secret was out of the bag.
“You guys okay?” Dad asked, Finn and I nodded.
“What are the odds you guys didn’t see that?” I inquired, my dad opened his mouth to respond, “Y’know what, never mind...”
Before anyone could say anything else, a battalion of troopers surrounded us with blasters drawn.
“Don’t move,” one of them ordered, “TK-338, we have targets in custody!”
A few came forward and ripped our weapons out of our hands, I had to stop from launching myself at them when they took Luke’s lightsaber from Finn. Luckily, they didn’t know that mine was still safely with me. Unfortunately, I knew it was a stupid idea to try and fight my way out of this. We put our hands behind our heads and the troopers began leading us away. We still didn’t have Rey or BB-8 with us. We’d failed, no, I’d failed. Failed my mother, failed Poe, failed the Resistance, failed the galaxy...Not only that but I’d managed to drag Finn, my father and Chewie into this and was now marching them toward their death. I’d never felt so defeated in my life. The First Order would find BB-8 somehow, they’d get the map and they’d probably kill Luke. I had singlehandedly doomed the galaxy to-
“It’s not your fault, kid,” Dad mumbled to me quiet enough so the troopers wouldn’t hear.
“Yeah, it is...” I replied dejectedly.
We hadn’t gotten that far before one of the troopers announced they were getting some sort of reading. The one leading us shouted orders for the battalion to move and most of them ran ahead of us. I looked out onto the nearby lake to see off in the distance, a line of ships were skimming the water. I grinned and waited for them to get closer, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,
“It’s the Resistance.”
The X-Wing fleet extended their wings and rose to meet the TIE’s that were coming in their direction. The shooting began and I chuckled, I didn’t see one shot even graze one of our ships. The First Order was definitely screwed when it came to our pilots, they were incredible. As one of the X-Wing’s got closer, the troopers around us took aim and the ship fired single fatal shots at each of them. The four of us hurried to find our respective weapons and started taking out troopers. I opted for my blaster instead of the lightsaber, I didn’t need any of our pilots seeing that from the skies and having questions. Finn had grabbed one of the Stormtrooper’s blasters and I had to admire the irony of the moment. The very weapon he’d been taught to use against people like me was now being used to take down his former organization. It only made me have more admiration for my new friend, Poe had been right to trust him.
As we fired back at the troopers, I heard an X-Wing soar right above me. I looked up to see the ship take out two TIE’s while trailing a third, though it only lived a few seconds more. The X-Wing then blasted three troopers nearby before doing a showman style loop and taking out more TIE’s. It was strangely beautiful to watch. I breathlessly laughed, Finn cheered and yelled,

”That’s one hell of a pilot!”

I’d only ever seen that style of flying, reckless yet somehow perfectly executed, from one person...And it was an impossibility that it could be him.
The troopers were almost completely eliminated so I went to find my dad. There was one he didn’t see coming but already had their gun aimed at him, I shot my arm out and ended his pursuit. Dad whipped around and came to meet me, pulling me into his arms,

“You good?”

”Yeah,” I pulled away to examine him, “You?”

He froze suddenly, his gaze no longer on me and trained on something else. I turned to see one of the last things I’d wanted or expected to see.
My brother carrying a limp Rey onto his ship.
Time itself had stopped, my ears rang blocking out the sound of X-Wing and TIE fire. Underneath the menacing looking mask rested the person I’d once loved most in the galaxy. This was the closest I’d been to him in years and out of familial instinct, I let go of my father and took a step towards him. He had Rey, he couldn’t leave with her and I couldn’t lose her. A step was the furthest I got as my dad pulled me back and kept a firm grip,
“Y/n, no...”
I fought against him as much as I had the strength to, but knew it was a waste of energy. He wasn’t about to let me get killed for a momentary lapse in judgement, he couldn’t lose both his children. I knew I wouldn’t be able to save Rey, I’d have to wait till we got back to base and figure something out. For now, I rested against my father’s chest and let myself feel like a small child again. The two of us watched Ben disappear into his ship and it fly off, taking what little comfort we could find in one another.

“NO!! REY!!”
Finn’s voice broke me out of my stupor and I groggily turned to see him standing a couple hundred feet away from us. He spotted us and ran over, I broke from my father to meet him in the middle.
“He took her. Did you see that? He took her! She’s gone!”
“I know, I know...” I replied, gripping Finn’s arms to stabilize the both of us, “We’ll get her back, hey, look at me.”
His eyes met mine tearfully, “We’re gonna get her back.” I enforced.
Y/N! Finn!
We both turned to see BB-8 rolling towards us as fast as he could,
“Bee!”
I kneeled down to meet him, holding his round body to mine as he let out a round of happy beeps. At least we hadn’t lost everyone, and we hadn’t lost what we had of the map. Overhead, a Resistance transport was preparing to land and I knew who would be waiting on the other side of its doors. I jogged over towards its landing spot and saw my dad and Chewie waiting ahead of me. The transport doors opened and soldiers began filing out, giving me nods and acknowledgements as they went to survey the damage.
And in the middle of the landing party was my mother.
My body instantly relaxed, I’d never been so happy to see her in my life. Even though everything was falling apart and my heart was broken, my mother’s warm presence made it feel like we’d be okay. Then again, she’d just made eye contact with my father for the first time in six years. Things stood a chance at being very very not okay. I watched them from a distance, it was if they were trying to communicate six years of emotions into one long gaze. It was heartbreakingly beautiful in a way...
“Goodness! Han Solo!”
Until someone ruined it.
“It is I, C3-PO! You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm,” he droned on before turning to my mother, “Look who it is, did you see who?”
Mom raised her eyebrows at him, a small smile playing on her lips. Though I loved the droid dearly, subtlety was not his strong suit...
“Mistress Solo! Oh, how wonderful it is to see you again,” he announced as he waddled his way to me, “When you and Commander Dameron did not report back to base we feared the-“
“It’s good to see you too, 3PO.” I greeted, patting his colorful arm as I walked past him to meet my mother. I’d missed the interaction between my parents but I was renewed by the sight of Chewbacca embracing Mom. Once she caught me out the corner of her eye, she separated from him. She pulled me into her arms the same way she had when I was a child, I let myself crack and began crying into her shoulder.
“Mom...” I whimpered, she stroked my hair and kissed the side of my head.
“We saw him, Leia...” Dad said, “I saw our son.”
I pulled back to dry my wet eyes and saw my mom’s face. She didn’t look entirely shocked, but she was definitely stunned. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that she’d only missed him by maybe a minute.
Mom took hold of my arms gently, “Is BB-8 still with you?”
“Yeah,” I turned to see him sitting to the side engaged in conversation with 3PO.
She smiled softly and tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear, “Good, let’s get back to base. We’ve got work to do.”
“I’ll ride back on the Falcon, meet you there.” I answered, squeezing her hand and parting ways to join my dad. Chewie and BB-8 followed us. I whistled in Finn’s direction, who turned to face me,
“You wanna come help save the galaxy?”
—————
“You sure these are the right coordinates?”
“Considering I live there, pretty sure...”
I finished punching the numbers into the Falcon before settling into the co-pilot’s seat next to Dad. Chewie was uncharacteristically lax about giving up his position and was resting in the back. But he knew how long it had been since I’d flown with my father, he could give it up for one day.
“All good?” Dad asked.
“Ready when you are.” I replied, eyes already on the thin layer of grey, smoky clouds in front of us. I felt bad for leaving Maz but she insisted we needed to go immediately. I was sure though that our paths would cross again.
Dad lifted the ship off the ground and steered us into the sky before jumping to lightspeed. I was too deep in my mind to really notice the stars whizzing by us, a sight I usually loved. Losing Poe, losing Rey, seeing Ben, using my lightsaber again...A little too much had happened in one day for my taste. Plus, I was about to have my second awkward conversation with my father in the past hour.
“...So about the, uh, thing you saw me do...Back there...” I stretched out my sentence as I leaned back in my seat.
“Yeah, that.” he replied, focused on adjusting controls.
“Um, I need you to not tell Mom about it. She kinda doesn’t know I can do...that.”
He sighed and after punching a few buttons, rotated his seat to face me, “Why don’t you want her to know?”
“Dad, come on,” I said before scoffing, “Mom hasn’t exactly had luck with her family members and the Force.”
Dad chuckled dryly, “Kid, you couldn’t be like them if you tried.”
“And I don’t,” I responded, “But does she really need that worry? That stress? Of another one of her kids holding a double edged sword? I can’t do that to her and I’m sorry that you have to live with that knowledge now!”
I hadn’t realized how loud my voice had grown till Dad put his hands on my knees to calm me, “Honey...”
I took a deep breath and leaned forward to place my hands over his, “I don’t like having this...talent, power, whatever you want to call it. Our family knows first hand the good and bad of the Force and I don’t want to be a part of it. Any of it.”
Dad’s face flickered with flashbacks, some I wasn’t alive for and some I was all too present for. I felt awful that he knew about me and now had to carry the weight. Yes, my main reasons for keeping my secret were selfish, but that didn’t mean I didn’t also care about my parents knowing. There weren’t many things that could remain hidden from my mother, but I’d been able to keep her in the dark about this since childhood. It had to stay that way.
“Fine, I won’t tell her. I’ll pass the message onto Chewie too. But I don’t like any of this.” Dad conceded reluctantly, turning back to the control panel.
I smiled and stood up, pressing a kiss to his cheek, “Thank you. I’m gonna go check on Finn.”

”Alright, and hey,” I stopped before I’d left the cockpit and turned back to him, “I meant it. You’re not like your brother, Y/n. You could never be.”
Smiling bittersweetly, I nodded and left him to his own thoughts. I knew he’d need a few minutes to himself before he was thrown back into the role of Han Solo, Living Legend. I snorted at the thought as I headed back to the lounge and found Finn sitting on the edge of the bunk. He was so deep in thought that he hadn’t even noticed I’d entered the room, no doubt his mind focused on Rey.
I knocked on a wall as not to startle him, “Shouldn’t be too much longer till we land.”

”Good.” He replied, nodding almost mechanically towards me. I came to join him, leaving a little space between us,
“We’ll get her back.”

Finn sighed heavily and rubbed his hands together anxiously, “Even if nobody else comes with me, I’m going to get her.”
I furrowed my brows, “I’m not going to be chased by Stormtroopers, take down TIE Fighters, run from Rathtars and become fugitives with the girl only to leave her now. We,” I gestured between the two of us, “are going to get her.”
He gave a small smile, “Thank you, Y/n. You’re a good friend.”
I put an arm around his shoulders, “Glad to know we’re that.”
Finn looked like he was wrestling with whether or not to say something as he mimicked my posture, “I know, uh, I didn’t know him long but I’m sure Poe would be proud of you.”

I tried not to stiffen at his words, but it was inevitable. Poe’s death was a fresh wound that no matter how much gauze I put on it, still bled through. Now we were headed back to the one place where every inch reminded me of Poe. As his closest friend, I’d probably have to be the one who went into his room and take care of his possessions. I’d have to walk through the hanger and see the other pilots, I’d probably mistake a few for him. I’d have to lay in my bed and try not to remember his arms around me.

”Y/n, I need you up here.” Dad called out.
I squeezed Finn’s shoulder and we released each other, I jogged up to the cockpit.

”We’re about ten minutes out. If you want your secret kept, take over while I go talk to Chewie.”
“Got it,” I replied as I took his seat as he went to find the Wookie. I didn’t need to adjust any controls, just sit and dread what I was about to experience.
I’d have most of his things taken back to Kes on Yavin 4. I’d deliver them and break the news myself. The first time meeting the man and I’d be telling him his son was dead...I didn’t want to think about how difficult that day would be.
I’d keep some things for myself, I wanted a few physical reminders of his existence. I’d steal a few of his shirts and keep them in a separate drawer of my dresser so they wouldn’t lose their smell. I’d take one of his leather jackets too, though it would be rather big on me.
I’d see if BB-8 could be transferred over to me, I’d loved him long before our madcap adventure but now? I needed to make sure Poe’s droid was taken care of and I didn’t trust anybody enough with him. Hell, if needed I would pull rank and make sure he stayed with me.
I wasn’t sure whether or not I’d be able to handle it or not, but maybe I’d move into Poe’s room. His quarters weren’t too far away from mine so if Mom needed me, I was still close by. I hated the idea of some random person moving into his room, taking over the space that was rightfully Poe’s. Maybe it would hurt too much, or maybe it would help in some way.
Suddenly I wished I was on the other side of the galaxy. I’d spent all day trying to process it, but Poe’s death was about to feel real.

A/N: 😏😏😏😏 Next chapter will have plenty of fluff to make up for the past few chapters. And a whole lot of a certain X-Wing pilot. Also, in the Expanded Universe (I know it’s not canon anymore but I used it for this chapter) Luke set up his training academy on Yavin 4. Anyway, feel free to let me know what you thought or if you want to be tagged ☺️
