Year of the Drabble - Redux
Gonna do it again, yep yep.
All fandoms, all ships welcome. Prompts this year come in the flavors of word, image, movie, phrase, and genre. Nothing is in quotes this year, meaning that it's all meant to be inspiration. Nothing of the prompt *must* be in your drabble, but you are welcome to incorporate it if you like. And to simplify things just a tad, this year there are only 4 options for your drabble length. Choose from 100, 150, 200, or 350 words. Tag us when you post!
Are you ready? Here we go!

Is This Thing On?
Ack! How did it get to be 2025 already?
However it happened, it IS 2025. How did you do on your 'year of the drabble' challenge in 2024?
I ... did mostly okay. Had a couple spots during the year when things got hectic and I did not find the time or brain power to write a drabble. I managed to get caught back up riiiiiight up until the end of the year when things fell apart again.
Also, as you may have noticed, right around the beginning of summer, I got rather ... inconsistent ... about reblogging drabbles in a monthly roundup. Sorry about that. They weren't always tagged on tumblr or added to the ao3 collection, so sometimes it was difficult to track down which (if any) new drabbles were related to the challenge and prompts. Sometimes they were, though, and I still didn't manage to track them down to link up into a post.
I will be posting another year of prompts, but I won't be promising the monthly roundups - which I hate because while I created this challenge in part to encourage myself to develop daily/weekly writing habits, it was also to find community where we could work in parallel and hold each other accountable for a small weekly goal. The thing is, I just don't have time to do both the writing and the admin required to find the other drabbles and post them.
If someone out there would like to assist, I'd be glad of the help.
If not, well, there's still a list of prompts for us to play with, and a goal to reach for. A drabble a week. Let's go. Time to bring out the 2025 prompt list. Keep your eyes peeled.

December!!!
We've reached December and are approaching the end of the 'Year of the Drabble' ... unless it's something folks would like to see continue. We've got a few more weeks in the year to finish things out (and a bonus extra 53rd drabble because the year started on a Monday ...) but drop a note in the replies on this post if you'd like to see more prompts next year, so we have time to build it and get it posted in time to kick off 2025.
Oh, and those last few prompts for 2024? Here they are:
Dec 2 - Image:
Dec 9 - Phrase: Gone but not forgotten Dec 16 - Song: School Days by Chuck Berry Dec 23 - Trope: Desert island Dec 30 - Word: “jet lag”

Here we go, the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Apparently it's this trope prompt: Forced proximity.
