harmless matchmaking fun.
PART ONE (because this got too long)
Time to get down to some serious business.
Cupid Seyoon was on the move, ready to hand out matching candies to his fated couples. He walked around the entire Halloween party ground, pretending to be innocently admiring people's costumes while in reality, diligently observed and schemed.
If any of his ships end up sailing after tonight and people get laid, he shall consider it his contribution to humankind and expect karmic rewards.
Please ctrl + f your character's first name if you don't want to read the whole thing. If I mentioned you, it's because you liked my plot call or told me on discord/twitter that you would not mind participating. Thanks everyone, for indulging me, this was so fun to write!
***Don't see your character? Probably in the next part (s)***
The first person he pulled to his side was Taeha (@lgctaeha), just to let her know that it was time. As Cupid's assistant and fellow Legacy shipper, he intended to take her opinions into consideration (because let's be real, his alone should not be trusted). Of course, he also had a match for her. "Here," he said, passing her a strawberry candy. It was identical to the one he had handed off to Wenjun (@lgcwenjun) earlier because he thought they would make such a cute couple. "Your match is tall, gorgeous and incredibly sweet. He's one of the only two men I really trust here at Legacy." Only the best for dear Taeha. Seyoon considered this ship sunshine x sunshine, and thought about everlasting summers.
He went to Yoojoon (@lgcyoojoon) next, because his brother's wellbeing was always on his mind. He handed him a peach candy, which was the same kind he had given to Milan (@lgcmilan). "Your match is a real peach," he promised Yoojoon after explaining his little game tonight. Milan was a pretty Christian girl and probably wanted a vanilla good boy. Who would be a better fit than his step brother? Nobody. Seyoon gave this ship the name of holy union, because both of the people involved were angels, at least in his eyes.
"Kiwi for you!" He grabbed a wild Ollie (@lgcoliver) by the back of his shirt as the guy was running past and placed a bright green candy into his hand. Seyoon planned to hand the matching candy off to Jaekyung (@lgcjaekyung) because she was really fun and could probably match Ollie's energy.
Seyoon looked down at the next candy he'd pulled out of his basket. It was watermelon, which was the flavor he gave to Yujin (@yujinlgc). The idea of matching her hurt, because she was a goddess and his idol, so nobody really deserved her. A part of him wanted to take the candy back for his Yujin shrine, but the other less selfish part wanted to find her someone. While contemplating, he accidentally bumped into Akio (@lgcakio), and ended up dropping the candy into his pocket. It would be weird to reach into his fellow trainee's pocket now and get the candy back, so instead he accepted fate and gave Akio a sulky look. "You better treasure her," he told the guy. All things considered, this one was not a bad option - Akio was a good man as far as he knew, better than a lot of the others.
Minjun (@lgcmjun) was a difficult one, because Seyoon still couldn't look at him without feeling the guilt. He assigned the guy grapefruit flavored candy, because that was Asher's favorite and gave the matching one to Jisoo (@lgcjisoo). Maybe back then, he, Jisoo and Asher were never meant to be a trio. Sometimes he wished he could go back and change things. This was his attempt, he supposed.
Perhaps BK (@lgcbk) would be confused about getting paired up with Sori (@lgcsori) via the apple candy but he should trust Seyoon's judgement. Sori was a cutie, especially whenever she got a bit tipsy. There might be a party girl hiding inside and those rosy cheeks were incredibly charming, which he highly doubted any man could resist.
Who on the earth should he pair up with Yuxi (@lgcyuxi)? She was real spicy with guys, but Seyoon had seen her interacting better with the ladies. Since Yuxi was working with the cool older sister vibe, he figured he'd find her someone with a little sister look. Maybe Amelia (@lgcamelia) would be a good choice! They can enjoy their raspberry candies together.

‘After keeping all plans of their first comeback aside, Royal has finally decided to move things along. Luxe’s performances on the Samsung New Year Special brought them a lot of attention and most certainly gave them a lot of buzz. Positive or negative, every new comment under their performance videos only made them rise on the pages of famous websites and search engines. Using this to their advantage wouldn’t be too hard.
Their first comeback also means their first release as a 5-member group. Im Nayoung’s official stage name was officially confirmed to be ‘Zoe’ through an official statement by a Royal representative only a week ago. Together with the other 4 original members, the group will make their comeback with their mini-album ‘Fantasy’ on February 24th. This means there are a lot of things to get done and the girls should put their all into it.
The practice schedule will be completely focused on the final preparations for the album. Dance practice will start right away and be the biggest focus for the members. If they don’t have anything more important to do then they should probably be learning the choreography which will be thoroughly taught by Yoo Jaekyung and her fellow dancers. The songs that were given three months to learn should all be recorded on February 8th. Members will go into the studio in order of age to record their parts. When they aren’t recording, members are expected to be practicing.
As a solo schedule, Cheri will take part of the recording for ‘My Love From Another Star’ from February 2nd. She will be expected on set for 9 hours (7 to 4pm) to get her makeup and wardrobe done in the morning. Filming for her day scene will last from 10am to 3pm. After filming for the scene concludes, she will get cleaned up, return her costumes, and return to her idol schedules. The script for this scene will be mailed to her one week prior to filming. She will also get one hour of rehearsal with the lead actor before official filming starts.
To match with their concept, members will have to change their hairstyles according to the company’s orders. Those whose current hairstyle doesn’t match the one seen below will go together to the same salon on February 10th to get their hair done for their comeback.
Cheri - Long, straight, black (reference)
Yena - Long, wavy, blonde (reference)
Ella - Long, straight, black (reference)
Xayah - Long, straight, brown (reference)
Zoe - Long, wavy, black (reference)
On February 13th, a photo shoot will occur in a small set in the Gangnam district for both the photobook that’ll come along with the CD as well as the photocards. There will be two different sessions: one for the pure side of the album and another following their sexy concept. The photocards will follow the same pattern (use this photocard as an example and a darker version of it for its counterpart). When they aren’t being photographed, members are allowed to practice in a spot of the set that doesn’t get in the way of the staff or in the changing room. They won’t be explicitly told to do so and they should also avoid getting sweaty or ruining their makeup.
Finally, the music video for their title song will be filmed on February 15th and February 16th. A full film crew is provided by Royal, including camera staff, wardrobe and makeup/hair staff, lighting staff, catering crew, and a director. You may, at any time, ask for guidance from any of these members of the production. On the 15th, the first section of the where they pose in white (0:00-0:16) and dance scenes in the white outfits (as seen in 0:56 and 2:33) will be recorded. On the 16th, scenes with the light background (as seen in 0:19 and 0:28) and the brick wall (as seen in 1:42 and 3:17) will be recorded.
As the first variety appearance with the full group, Luxe will record an episode of Weekly Idol on February 18th. This will follow the events from TWICE’s part in Episode 228 which can be seen here. All mentions of debut should be changed to it being their first comeback, and any quotes and the performance of ‘Like Ooh-Ahh’ should be changed to ‘Confused’. Any other changes should be made accordingly (such as their personal introductions and showcased talents) to fit in with Luxe members. Luxe’s appearance will only be enough for half an episode, and the other half will be filmed by a different group. It should be also taken into account that the MCs will be the current ones: Lee Manseok, Shin Beomsu, and Ryu Seojun as the IC equivalents of Nam Changhie, Jo Seho, and Hwang Kwanghee. This episode will air on a Wednesday, February 27th.
On the very same day of the recording, February 18th, the first teaser will be released for their comeback on Luxe’s official social media.
As a special surprise to the fans and a tease on itself, all 5 members will come together to hold a Vlive in their dorm on February 19th. They are instructed not to spoil anything regarding their new album and help Zoe get used to how it works. Apart from that, the members are free to interact with the viewers however they’d like as long as they keep up with their image.
No matter how busy their month will be, nothing will beat February 24th. Luxe will have their debut stage on the same date as their album release on Inkigayo. They’ll get there a 6:30am as usual, but instead of staying until late for a live performance, they’ll pre-record it at 9:00am instead of having a rehearsal. The members will then prepare themselves for their showcase which will start at 6PM, the same time as the album release. Fans present will get to watch the MV for the first time in the audience, followed by a live performance of ‘Confused’. The MC this time will be the well-known Lee Jonghyuk. During the showcase, Luxe will also perform their debut song ‘I Feel Good’, ‘Luv Me’ and ‘Under The Street Lights’. The time in-between will involve the members explaining their title track and album as well as their concept, a profile introduction of each member, and then the showcase will end with a second performance of ‘Confused’.
The following is the music show promotion schedule for Luxe’s ‘Confused’ activities:
2/24, 3/03, 3/10: SBS Inkigayo
2/25, 3/04: Arirang Simply K-pop
2/26, 3/05, 3/12: MTV The Show
2/27, 3/06, 3/13: MBC Show Champion
2/28, 3/07, 3/14: Mnet M!Countdown
3/01, 3/08, 3/15: KBS Music Bank
3/02, 3/09, 3/16: MBC Music Core
On February 28th, Luxe will record their dance relay for ‘Confused’ to be uploaded on the same day during their time waiting for M!Countdown (you can use this to see how it works).
Music show promotions will last for a total of three weeks this time. Programs will begin pre-recording early in the morning and groups are expected to stay at the broadcasting station until the live broadcast takes place later in the day. Although music shows in real life follow varied recording schedules, for IC writing purposes, the schedule for every music show will follow this consistent pattern (except for February 24th):
06:20AM: at broadcasting station: basic first rehearsal on stage; no makeup, casual clothes.
06:45AM: head to salon: get makeup and hair done.
07:45AM: return to broadcasting station: eat breakfast, nap in dressing room/space.
09:00AM: dress rehearsal on stage; stage outfits, makeup on.
09:20AM: return to dressing room/space: rest, eat, nap.
11:00AM: final camera rehearsal on stage; stage outfits, makeup on.
11:15AM: greet senior artist groups at their respective dressing room/spaces, accompanied by a manager. you may not sleep during this time, up until the live broadcast.
07:00PM: live broadcast; when not performing, must stay in dressing room/space until the ending stage of the show.
08:00PM: line up in waiting room area to formally greet producers, director, and senior staff.
09:00PM: meeting time with fans who attended the recordings.
10:00PM: return to dressing rooms to clean up, change back into casual clothes.
11:00PM: arrive back at dorms.
You will gain +5 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE AS YOU WISH, +3 DEBUT POINTS and +2 ACHIEVEMENTS for completing the written requirements explained on the idol tier page. As this is a song promotion month, one of your chosen achievements must be relevant to the above schedule and all required content should be written about activities listed on the above schedule for the month of February. Posting about March activities will not account for February points (more information for their March promotions will come on their March schedule). There is a capped maximum of five solos, sets of starters and/or partnered threads you may write to collect this month’s points.
To clarify, the only form that needs to be submitted at the end of the month is a verification form for your debut points and achievements. Any SP points earned can be collected as soon as you finish the requirement for them. At the end of the month, as you did with your previous evaluation forms, you will submit the following form to the Points Verification blog:
IDOL’S NAME - ROYAL ENT - FEBRUARY SCHEDULE (for the March 6 verification form)
PROOF OF ACTIVITY: [ x ]

TOTAL POINTS EARNED: +00 SP +00 DBT

NEW DEBUT POINTS TOTAL:
**** For participating in a total of 20 music show performances during this promotion period, Luxe will earn 20 EXP for their overall group experience. Their appearance on Weekly Idol will give 1 EXP, their VLive 1 EXP, and the dance relay another 1 EXP. Cheri’s solo schedule gives 1 EXP making it a total of 24 EXP.
* Rookie and trainee characters are allowed to attend pre-recordings and fan meetings to interact with idol muses if they choose to do so. Just be realistic about the scheduling; trainees who skip too many lessons to support idol muses will be noticed by their company staff!

DISPATCH, (04/26/17): BKB Entertainment has officially released information about visual and vocalist, Jeon Jaekyung, also known as Catch-22, on PARAL/L’s official website! Catch-22 is a ‘90 liner and has been beloved by fans since his debut in 2011. Find out more about Catch-22 below!
I, Jeon Jaekyung, have read and understand the terms and conditions as my position of visual and vocalist and agree to honor the standards that are to be expected of me as an employee of BKB Entertainment.
OOC INFORMATION
Preferred name: Trice
Pronouns: she/her
Timezone: PST
Other muses: rytaejeong and ryteuntae
Skype (this is optional, but if you would like to join the RHYTHMS please leave your skype username here): wandamaximoffofficial
IC INFORMATION
Faceclaim: Park Seungjun
Name: Jeon Jaekyung
Stage name (if applicable): Catch-22, or just “Catch”
Idol concept: He has the strong, silent concept. With his towering height and more-often-than-not blank expression, it works. Off-camera, he’s far more playful and whimsical than one would expect him to be. He’s still somewhat reserved, but spends most of his time off-camera sporting large glasses and messy hair, likely cocooned in a blanket somewhere while dissecting the plot holes of the newest drama. He doesn’t mind being considered the mysterious visual since it not only gives him an excuse not to do aegyo on variety shows, but also to keep quiet and keep himself entertained just by watching his group. Some of his fans liken him to petrichor, or the scent of the earth after the rain. The company wants to market him as a steadfast sentinel for fans and a benevolent, welcoming face to see after the allegorical “rain” in fans’ souls, hence his position as the face of the group.
Birth date and age: 21 June 1990 (age 26)
Company name: BKB
Group Name (if applicable): PARAL/L
Group Position (if applicable): Visual, vocalist
Strengths: Having been trained formally as an actor, Jaekyung is often centered on music videos due not only to his acting skills, but also to his visuals. He dabbles a little bit in dance and vocals, and he isn’t terrible; he’s got enough skill to, at least, keep up with his other group members. He’s better at variety than he thinks he is, since his wicked sense of humor contains innuendoes prominent enough to make people laugh, but subtle enough to avoid scandals. When it comes to visuals, he knows how to work what he has; he uses his height and fine features to his advantage, and in photoshoots, comes off appearing to be more confident than he actually is.
Weaknesses: Unfortunately, being the jack of all trades results in being the master of none. Besides visuals, he doesn’t have very many extraordinary talents to boast for the group. He gets singing lines, but doesn’t particularly kill it like the main vocalists; his tone is brassy and straightforward, and while it’s pleasant enough, he can’t hit high notes very well. He’s always found his height awkward for the knife-style dancing PARAL/L specializes in— as well as he can hit the choreography, he has to do it after much practice since he has to spend extra hours compensating for different timing to get his 188cm frame into place on the correct beats.
Positive traits: Soft-spoken, witty, easygoing
Negative traits: Vain, guarded, unsure
PERSONAL HISTORY
Jeon Jaekyung never had plans to be an idol.
Nobody ever does, he reasons when he thinks about it, but he definitely didn’t. A Busan child born-and-raised with an eye more for comic books than whoever the hottest girl group member is, the elders in his province never expected he would even touch a microphone, much less be the face of one of BKB’s most renown boy groups.
Life’s funny, in a sense.
Jaekyung is six, and his older sister Areum is twelve, and his middle sister Yuna is eleven when they begin to save money to move to America. Their parents have gone far away from them, deciding after Jaekyung’s birth that they didn’t need three children at the age of thirty. They were left on their estranged uncle’s doorstep, and they like it that way. Their uncle ignores them, and they like it that way.
They only have each other, and they like it that way.
Their uncle is like them; abandoned by the same people, not really knowing what to do or where to go. He hardly tolerates them besides their pocket money he leaves on the table and the food he leaves in the fridge. He is never home; it is as if the Jeon siblings have a house all to themselves, because their uncle never uses it, preferring to snooze at bars instead. Still, he provides a roof over their heads, so they are okay with that.
Areum, the eldest, plays baseball, and she plays it so well and with such a passion that Jaekyung boasts his sister will be in the big leagues somewhere in America. He even learns English to prepare for it. Areum is lean, strong, and besides their uncle, they depend on her the most. Yuna, with her long, flowing hair and captivating eyes and moonlight skin, is the opposite (they clash heads sometimes, but always break it up when Jaekyung starts crying). Yuna always has boys on the doorstep, making the Jeon uncle cranky on the rare occasions he’s home and wakes up to them serenading his niece.
“Noona,” Jaekyung says one day with a superhero comic book on his lap. Yuna is out with a boy, probably flirting him into buying her and her siblings dinner for that night. Areum has taken up a job fixing their neighbor’s kitchen light and let Jaekyung tag along to hand her tools as she needs them. “Your eighteenth birthday is tomorrow,” Jaekyung continues, “Are we going to America then?”
“No,” Areum responds with a grunt, “We’re going down the street.”
Areum had decided that America was unrealistic; pulling her sixteen-year-old sister and twelve-year-old brother out of school just so she could follow her baseball dreams made no sense (especially since Yuna was so spoiled she probably wouldn’t allow it anyway). Instead, Areum buys out a building at the end of the road where their uncle’s home sits. It has two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen above a storefront. Yuna takes one bedroom, Areum takes the other, and Jaekyung takes the sofa, but it’s better than before because the Jeon siblings feel free. Their uncle becomes a neighbor; he also becomes kinder and more present without the stress of raising three children, and takes up a job under Areum for the new store: Jeon Comic Suppliers.
(It’s a little ridiculous, but it works.)
Areum’s always been personable, so her friends come to buy comics from the store. Yuna brings in the male audience when she works the counter, and their uncle does the deliveries. Jaekyung mostly does the organizing. It takes him days to finish one section of the store since he’s always sidetracked by reading about the superheroes in them; Areum doesn’t really care, as long as he does more than their sister, whose only job is to bat eyelashes at passersby through the window to make them come inside, then sit around with a hand mirror preparing for her next target. At night, Areum goes to the park across the street to play baseball with friends, Yuna catches up with her favorite dramas, and Jaekyung cooks them some dinner. It’s their routine. It remains their routine for four years.
(It’s funny how it was Areum who always said routines are made to be broken.)
The policeman walks through the door to the comic shop one day when Jaekyung is sixteen and shifts his weight nervously on the threshold, clearly trying to keep his composure. He’s a tall piece, clearly new to the force, and while Yuna eyes him then yawns kittenishly, Jaekyung purses his lips as he gives the officer a onceover. Bland, awkward, uncommanding: Jaekyung almost thinks he’s not even a real policeman. He shuffles toward Yuna and Jaekyung holds back a laugh— as if that guy was good enough for his sister. It explained his nervousness; he must have heard of the pretty Jeon sister at the store and spent weeks working up his nerve.
But Yuna’s shriek slices through the air moments after the policeman leans in to whisper in her ear, and she runs upstairs weeping, the yellow sundress that Areum bought for her trailing after her.
Areum is gone.
Jaekyung hardly catches any of it. The policeman, unsure of what to do after Yuna’s disappearance, talks to a numb Jaekyung instead. There was something about a bridge, something about a structural failure, something about Areum tumbling down into the waters below. Jaekyung doesn’t want to listen.
Yuna locks herself in her room for the next month, clearly having been under the same impression that their eldest sister was invincible. She emerges one day, emaciated and sallow.
The first thing she does is fix the light in their kitchen. It had broken only days after Areum’s death.
Yuna becomes more beautiful in her grief. She rolls up her sleeves and ties back her hair and mans the shop, her face taking on a natural, surreal sort of loveliness in the determined lines that set in her jaw. But Jaekyung becomes quiet. He grows up tall and watches Yuna, expecting her to collapse in on herself. She never does, and he never understands how she changes from a vain, spoiled girl to a decisive, capable young woman.
He is nineteen, and it is 2009, when the man enters. It is not to announce another death. It is to flirt with Yuna, but she is twenty-two and the man has to be at least forty and Jaekyung wrinkles his nose at the sight of his primness. So, unnerved at the sight of his sister getting leered at, he folds up the comic book in his lap and taps her on the shoulder, telling her that she’s needed upstairs, and looms over the man, eyeing him through his square-framed glasses. But the man is not scared. In fact, he seems a little bit stunned at the sight of Jaekyung, eyeing him up and down and forgetting all about Yuna.
He is a scout for an entertainment company, BKB, he explains. They had just debuted a girl group and wanted to make a boy group to match popularity. Jaekyung is skeptical; he’s never danced or sung a day in his life, but the scout swears up and down that BKB will train him formally, and if they reach the popularity of silverBEAT, Jaekyung will have all the money in the world to put into the shop. After Yuna’s assurances that she can hold down the fort, he hesitantly packs up and boards a train to Seoul to begin formal training.
Sure enough, it’s difficult, but not so difficult that it’s unmanageable. He’s in a pool of hundreds of male trainees vying for the same seven spots, and he hopes it was worth it; he can sing, he can dance, but can hardly do it well. The company puts him through acting classes, which he does far better at and enjoys far more, but still can’t bring themselves to waste his visuals. At last, the company decides to put him in their newest project: PARAL/L, set to debut with “Be Mine” in 2011.
To his surprise, they assign him a concept immediately: mysterious, strong, and silent. They don’t let him choose, and he’s a bit uncomfortable with it because he’s more suited to the offbeat atmosphere of his sister’s comic shop in a small corner of Busan.
They do, however, let him choose his stagename. They tell him to make it meaningful, make it unique. After scouring his resources for days upon days, he turns in his request for a name, and Jeon Jaekyung becomes PARAL/L’s Catch-22. It’s almost too fitting; Areum, his baseball-player sister who died at twenty-two gets honored in his new identity, and his new identity is a word that literally means a difficult circumstance. Fans and show hosts call him “Catch,” and he maintains his image well on-camera. He still keeps in touch with Yuna, who’s long since gotten married and begun franchising the store, and makes trips to Busan whenever he can. Rumor has it that off-camera Jaekyung is eccentric, mischievous, and wears his heart on his sleeve more than Catch-22; those rumors aren’t wrong.
But on-camera, PARAL/L goes on to become an international sensation. Jaekyung watches as BKB debuts new groups and projects and comebacks. He watches silverBEAT loses a member then gets duped into more years with the hellish company. But the ever-mysterious visual, he never betrays his distress, his worry for his sister group, or his anxiety over his junior group. Catch-22 maintains his image until he goes home and trades sleek black outfits for messy hair, odd prescription glasses, and big wool sweaters, all to become Jeon Jaekyung again.
