also also corporate: hey so we have enough people here, actually, you guys are working TOO efficiently. So some of you have to go somewhere else. Anyway suddenly the rest of you guys cant keep up anymore what's the holdup? Customers are getting mad and clearly its your fault so go fix it, also remember you arent allowed overtime
corporate: we wont pay you a cent above min wage
also corporate: why are all the good employees quitting? why are we understaffed? we gotta fix the high turnover rate that happens god knows why. everyone on the floor go and work harder to compensate while we figure out this mystery thanks
#me ranting about how walmart told me to get a new position or get fired#AFTER i did their dumb fucking training program i had to figure out how to get myself to#why? well there were too many people in my position. obviously#at the time two of my coworkers were on vacation#and the other five of us were scheduled so thinly that i#having only worked this position for maybe a few months#was often left alone to run an entire storefront checkout for 2-3 hours at a time#the store is so big that having three people in a shift is the ideal#that way a lunch is covered while still giving us enough manpower to divy up duties#or like. one person service a customer for 1 1/2 straight while the other keeps the floor running#anyway with only two people gone we werent able to do that#and there were multiple shifts where id skip a break and take a shorter lunch literally just so my my employees werent left stranded#these were days in a row#i had a BAD shutdown at least once a week from the stress#and every other day id go non-verbal from frustration and confusion. typically while dealing with a customer#so yeah. there were definitely too many people for the job
