how can anyone support Posie Parker/Kellie-Jay Keen? She claims to be standing for women and giving women a voice but she's said that any woman who disagrees with her rabid transphobia will be 'annihilated' (and won't let women who oppose her speak at Let Women Speak rallies), is openly homophobic (and doesn't think gay couples should have kids), takes money from far right groups eg CPAC, and has spoken MULTIPLE TIMES about why birth control and abortion should be restricted further. Like if you seriously think she's even vaguely close to being some defender of women you need your head screwed on straight.
#not censoring her name in the hope that someone actually wants to tell me why they still think she's a feminist#bc she isn't#at all#she's just a plainly terrible person#and even without that she's not some brave charming leader she's got the charisma of a damp sock#like... what do you lot see in her#other than the nazi stuff#like i get it. radfems are lacking for women#because all the TERFs are old men#but like... seriously

&&. —(jasper o’hara)? yes, (he) does look a lot like (ben barnes), but (he) is/are just a (thirty-five) year old (dragon) and last i heard, they were (a supernatural gang leader) . around east end, people say (he) is known to be quite (-reckless), but can also be (+brave). maybe that’s why (jasper)’s theme song is (seven nation army - white stripes)?
give this a like and i’ll slip into your DMs to plot!
[ tw: casual murder, death, violence ]
BACKGROUND
The O’Hara’s are an ancient line of dragons that take pride in their lineage. In East End, they’re a mob. Think The Westies but for DRAGONS - called, you guessed it, “The Dragons.” The bar - O’Hara’s - has been around for as long as anyone can remember.
Their main enemy? Hunters. They fucking HATE ‘em. It’s a tale old as time and the bad blood runs deep. Jasper grew up with the fierce belief that Hunters (and most humans too) were only good for one thing - dead meat.
Jasper is the oldest son of Melchior O’Hara, the man that sat the help of the The Dragons and worked at one of East End’s biggest financiers. His mother passed during childbirth and left Jasper and his twin James (Jasper, two minutes older) alone with their father. Jasper was doted upon and loved unconditionally. He was not spoiled, but he had learned to expect a certain comfort in life.
At age 13, Jasper and James were shipped off to England - Melchior told them it was so that he could go to boarding school to finish his education. For good of the The Dragons.
Jasper hated this. His teen years were filled with maximum rage and maximum angst. He wanted to stay in East End with the Dragons - why the fuck was he in England?
Jasper attended Eton, despite his rambunctious protests (which included running away quite a few times.) He barely passed through most of school, spending more time in the principal’s office than class.
In college, he discovered he had quite a head for business—at least the negotiation side of things. His natural charm and intellect impressed most of his professors—even if his testing results lacked a reflection of this.
Earning his masters felt—for a fleeting moment—like he’d done something right. Jasper returned, his father drew him aside, congratulated him and welcomed him to the Dragons.
It was literally the moment that he’d been waiting his whole life for. Jasper stepped into his father’s shadow with the intention of taking over the Dragons and all their illicit dealings
For a while, life was GOOD. He knew where his loyalties lay, he’d made some good cash, he’d taken out a few hunters. He’d even fallen for a cute secretary at his father’s firm too.
She was really cute.
Like, really cute.
They got married. Life? BLISS.
So of course, it wasn’t meant to be.
Life took a tragic turn one night. That cute secretary? Undercover hunter. Jasper? Saw red.
He struck before she could hurt him and his gang. He went to his brother, asked James to help him get rid of the body. He never told his father.
For three years, Jasper didn’t think twice about it. It was the way of the world. Dragons killed hunters. End of story.
Life went on. More fights at the Den, more money being raked in, a new love of his life (this one, to stay.) Jasper found himself engaged once more to one Selena Leon.
Hunter grudges, evidently, die hard. The family of his first wife retaliated and, though it took them three years, it was a hit and a run. All Jasper remembers is the gunfire, catching some of the crossfire… his father, catching a bullet meant for him. Then, waking up in a hospital bed. His dad, dead. The killers clear. Jasper blamed himself.
He stayed for the funeral. The day after, he left a note for the rest of his family and The Dragons: “Gone, but not far. Please don’t look for me. Will check in soon.”
He took his money and a single bag and fled on the first international flight - no plan, no hesitance. He traveled two years, wandering from country to country, living in hotel rooms, making friends everywhere he went. His shadow of their guilt followed him. Whenever people began to ask questions, he ran.
Eventually, his demons caught up with him. Two years later, his fiancee, Selena Leon, found him drinking his way through some bar in Paris. She’d been running The Dragons along with his brother for the last two years and she was there to drag him back. ‘They listen to you.’ She told him.
Jasper returned to East End.
Jasper’s been back for two months and he finds old muscle memory kicking in. He himself rather attuned to the cruel nature necessary for such a vocation and is finding that when he can push away the guilt of his father’s death - he fucking loves this life.
ABOUT (TL;DR)
Comes from a mob family of Dragons, grew up in it. His father practically ran it and he was next in line to do so.
Young. New dragon. New gang leader. Was BORN to do this shit and, after the initial hesitance of his youth, fills the shoes with ease.
Went to school in England, came back essentially to run The Dragons. Earned a bit of a rep for himself - a little too wild, a little to reckless.
Came back, started to learn the way of The Dragons (haha).
Fell in love, got married.... and then learned she was a hunter. KILLED HER.
Her family hunted him and for three years, he got away with it. But, tragedy struck and his father wound up dying taking a bullet that was meant for him. Jasper packed his shit up and left the country without really telling anyone out of pure guilt.
Two years later, Jasper was dragged back by his current fiancee, former high school sweetheart - Selena Leon.
He is back to being the leader of the Dragons and THRIVING - when he isn’t consumed by guilt over his father’s death.
He runs the Dragons and The Den. You can learn more about the O’Hara bar, the smuggling industry of East End and the fighting pit here.
PERSONALITY / OTHER
Jasper is WRACKED with guilt over his father’s death and is hoping most people have forgotten about it.

The 100 Characters Hogwarts Sorting Series
The Philosopher’s Stone “You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart.”
The Goblet of Fire “Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor... ...By Gryffindor, the bravest were Prized far beyond the rest.”
The Order of the Phoenix “For were there such friends anywhere As Slytherin and Gryffindor?... ... Said Gryffindor, “We’ll teach all those With brave deeds to their name... ...While the bravest and the boldest Went to daring Gryffindor.”
In Harry Potter, Gryffindor just seems to hold all of our “good guy” characters, but I am taking a more ‘trait based’ approach to Gryffindor here. Gryffindors are brash, bold, daring, brave, and wild characters. They don’t follow the rules, not because they have some sort of disdain for them, or because they necessarily think their way is better, but because rules get in the way of sheer, unadulterated bravery. Not always the kindest, or the most caring, Gryffindors care about being the hero, more than anything else. They like the glory that comes with it. The powers of Gryffindor can be used for good or for evil, and the Lions in this show are truly varied in that regard. In Gryffindor we find:
Zeke Shaw
An all out adrenaline junkie, who joined up into the airforce for the thrill of it. He stands up to bullies, no matter what ‘side’ those bullies are on, and he’s got a knack for flinging himself into dangerous situations when his moral compass calls for it. He likes the thrill of it, and he gets into danger just for fun. Motorcycles too fast on the highway, jet planes, and spaceships. He didn’t join up for the cause, he joined up for the fun of it. He is smart as hell, but what he values most in himself is his own bravery. Lion heart for sure.
Jasper Jordan
We got a taste of Jaspers Lionhearted ways during season 1, and by a taste I mean we saw it big time. He wanted nothing more than to BE the hero. He lept into the water to save Octavia. He swung across the river to impress the girl. He followed Clarke and Bellamy to the meet up on the bridge, and even though he panicked, he revelled in the glory and popularity. He wanted to be like Bellamy, the big hero, the one everyone loved and adored. And as much as I think Jasper was terrified, all the time, he wanted to be brave. He organised his friends in the Mountain to save everyone. He was untying his own hands to slit Cage Wallace’s throat in season 2 before Clarke pulled the level. And when he became self destructive, that bravery turned dark. He threw himself into danger, just to feel something. He put himself in harms way because it was the only thing that made him feel alive. And in the end, he was still brave. He was just tired, and his depression and PTSD took over, but he was able to bravely stand with his friends and say that enough was enough, for them. It was horrible and sad, and I wish he had been able to get better, but he was brave, all the way to the end, and that was who Jasper was. The Brave boy who wanted to be a hero.
Harper McIntyre
Gosh, if there was every a character who deserved the moniker of Brave, its Harper. Thrown to earth as a teenager, she found her place in a group of insane criminal kids, and fought her way to being the first female guard we saw. She stood up for what she thought was right, what she believed in, even when it went against what her friends and loved ones believed (“it takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies... but a great deal more, to stand up to your friends”), and she picked herself back up after every horrible thing she experienced, pulling herself back up long enough to find peace in space with her new family. What a brave, beautiful soul.
Octavia Blake
Octavia has always been all brawn, and that is such a strong Gryffindor trait. Octavia flings herself headfirst into a situation without really sitting back and thinking things through, and uses her bravery and her just sheer force of will to get her way. In season 1 we saw it a lot with the way she was with Lincoln, and from what we learned about her childhood. Bravery was the thing that kept her going under the floor, and it’s what she used in season 1 to find her place, and it never stopped. She wants to be a warrior, not because she believed in any cause, but because she felt like fighting and winning gave her purpose. She fought for skaikru not because she truly felt they deserved a place, but because they needed a champion and she could be that. She became an assassin because the only way she could cope with her loss was through violence and anger. Even how she led in the bunker was SO Gryffindor. She would listen to her advisors, but it was never about what the smartest choice was. By the end it was about her power. That lust for hero status, for legend and fame, is very Lion of her.
Madi kom Louadaklironkru
The littlest Lion. I think i knew she was a little gryffindor when she said Octavia was her favourite in the stories. She was fuelled by stories of warriors and fighting, on legendary heroes. She didn’t love sneaky Murphy or brilliant Raven or kind and loyal Bellamy, she loved the pure brawn and fight of Octavia. Madi’s bravery came through on her own throughout the season as well. She made rash, arguably stupid choices when it came to saving the people she loved (telling O she was a real nightblood to protect Clarke anyone?), but she also had no problem calling Clarke out when she felt like they needed to be the heroes. Taking the flame, her biggest fear, to save her mom? Brave as brave can be. Leading an army into battle to save the world? The bravest little lion of them all.
Marcus Kane
Marcus started out as the quintessential rule following hard-ass character in season 1, but he evolved into someone so much more over time. Marcus is one of the Gryffindor characters who is not ruled by the want for legend, but is still ruled by brashness and bravery. He’s a smart guy, for sure, and he’s true to his beliefs, but he functions best when he’s leading the charge. He stands up to tyrants (re: pike, alie, octavia) with no concern for his own life, because he believes in doing whats right. He also puts himself into positions of power, because his charm and charisma gets him there. There is a reason he functioned so well as the ambassador for Skaikru, even though he wasn’t their leader. He had the ability to smile and charm his way to diplomacy when more intellectually brained characters like Jaha couldn’t, and he was able to do it with a true sincerity, where characters like Clarke and Abby would have had too much of their own agenda to succeed.
Finn Collins
Finn was all about the glory of it all. He would fling himself into danger to prove himself to the girl, at any turn. But Finn’s bravery was dark, in the most gryffindor way. He was brave because of what it gave him. Recognition. Respect. The awe of the crowd. Finn was never a character that really seemed to care about anyone other than Clarke and Raven, but he planned peace talks and massacred villages because of the women in his life. His bravery knew no moral place, it was all for his own self interest.
Illian kom Trishanakru
Illian was difficult to sort because sometimes it was hard to see who he really was, but I think his bravery was a big part of him. He ran straight into the enemy camp to blow up the ark, with no care for what it could be used for, because his own anger pushed him there. He wasn’t particularly smart or sneaky about it either. He saw Octavia, and decided she was his in, and he did it. He showed up for his conclave because his people needed a champion, and fought because he had too. Duty and honor drove him, but so did vengeance.
Ontari kom Azgeda
Ontari is all fight. I see a lot of people sort her into slytherin, but she is nowhere near cunning enough. If she had been more Slytherin, she wouldn’t have needed Murphy to help her with her long con as Fake Commander, but she would never have succeeded without him. Her middle of the night conclave/massacre wasn’t strategy or sneakiness, it was just sheer brawn. She saw the chance and went for it. She lusted for power. She used her strength and her violence to take it. She took out the eyes of an advisor instead of trying to woo him. She cut off the heads of the noviciates instead of just winning on her own, which she easily could have. She took the chip from ALIE, even though Murphy told her not too, because she thought it would give her true power. Ontari was all about glory. She wanted to be the Commander because she wanted to win.
Roma
Sadly we didn’t see a lot of Roma, but girl was brave. She never hesitated when the group needed to send out a rescue party. She grabbed a weapon and ran off to help. She did it because the group needed her, and she was there.
Paxton McCreary
McCreary is such a Gryffindor. He isn’t that smart, or that conniving, but he made his way to leadership by sheer force and pressure. He succeeded by taking what other, more tactical leaders left behind when he took power from them with brute force. He blew up the world, because if he couldn’t lead it, then no one could have it. All bravado, all the time.
Cage Wallace
Cage Wallace wanted to be the man who brought his people back to the ground, and he was willing to do whatever it took to get there. He utilised his fathers foundation, Dr. Tsing’s mind, and his own charm to get himself into power, and once he was there, he would stop at nothing to get his way. I feel like he could also be a Slytherin, but I dont think he himself was actually the mastermind behind the planning. He saw what Dr. Tsing could do, and what it could get them, and he convinced the people he needed to put himself into power so he could use her to get it. I think he was much more nerve and gusto than anything else.
Maya Vie
My sweet, brave girl. Maya was a character that came off as tymid and fearful sometimes, but that was such a complete misdirect. She was a force of nature. She fought back against the world she had grown up in because, even if it meant her own death, she knew the right thing to do, and she was going to do it. She helped Jasper, she helped Bellamy, and in the end, when she was being hunted by her own people, after her father was killed and her world was destroyed, she was still ready to stand up and die for her cause. Bravery ran through her veins, and her strength was inspiring.
Of course these are my personal opinions, and how I see these characters. Enjoy!

Next Rainfall (3/4)
@miraculousfluffmonth , Day 26: Please?
Chapters: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
AO3 / fanfiction
***
3. Patience
It took a week. A week in which he also realized she hadn’t given him a second clue. A week in which his curiosity twisted his stomach every time Adrien saw Marinette at school. He observed her closely looking for some hints as to who her crush might be. He registered her interactions with every boy and girl she happened to talk to in his presence. Nothing. He got exactly zero traces. Either she must have been really good at hiding her feelings, or he wasn’t lucky enough to witness her interactions with her crush.
After that week he quietly accepted his defeat and came next rainfall Chat Noir was out again, leaping over the rooftops and looking for the familiar combo of pink boots, black umbrella and dark pigtails.
‘Well, well, well,’ Marinette drawled as she saw him dropping in front of her, and carefully avoiding the puddles. ‘Isn’t that my favorite feline hero!’ she greeted and he couldn’t help sticking his chest out a bit, proud that she considered him a favorite of hers.
‘Evening, Princess,’ he shot her a two finger salute. ‘I believe you owe me two clues tonight,’ he all but purred leaning in to wiggle his brows at her.
‘Two clues? Oh, no, Chat. The deal was one clue at a time,’ she chided, shaking her head. ‘You have to be patient.’
‘Oh, I am extremely patient, believe me,’ he shot back. ‘But last time you didn’t give me a clue after I found you. That’s cheating.’
‘Moi? Cheating?’ she gasped in mock hurt. ‘Most certainly not!’
‘In that case, two clues, please?’ he stuck out two clawed fingers in a V gesture.
‘Hmmm, any suggestions for today?’ Marinette knitted her brows, as she considered her answer. ‘Last time you were very helpful.’
Chat thought about his little investigation. It would allow him to narrow down his research at school, if he knew some more substantial details. ‘Is your crush a boy or a girl?’ he asked, trying to override his embarrassment with feline bravado.
‘You just got yourself some points for not giving into stereotypes, well done,’ she winked. ‘And my crush is a boy.’
‘Yes!’ he exclaimed earning a quizzical frown from the girl. He was just happy he could eliminate some potential candidates, but on second thought, he probably shouldn’t let her know that he was working on figuring out her secret also outside of his mask. ‘I m-mean… thank you.’
‘There’s nothing to thank me for,’ she shrugged. ‘Or were you afraid my crush might be Ladybug?’
Chat snorted, but deep down he actually felt relieved. Marinette would be very tough competition if she happened to set her eyes on his spotted partner. ‘Yeah, I was afraid that might be the case.’
This came out wrong again. For the second time Marinette eyed him suspiciously, but she quickly shook it off. ‘And the second clue?’ she prompted.
There were many things he wanted to know, but once again he decided to make his investigation easier and check if his strategy of watching her as a civilian wasn’t a waste of time. But he didn’t want to alert her as to the extent of his nosiness, so instead of asking if they were in the same school or even class, he went with a more vague, ‘Do you see him often?’
The girl considered his question, while delicate blush brushed her cheeks. ‘I’d say that yes,’ she replied with a timid smile. ‘I see him practically every day.’
‘Hmmmm,’ he hummed.
‘Hmmmm?’ she parroted. ‘Are you trying to figure out who he is now?’ she asked, amused.
‘Who, me?’ He rubbed his neck. ‘Pfffft, I’m just a curious cat, is all.’
‘A curious cat indeed,’ she replied. ‘You know what they say about curiosity and cats?’
‘Are you saying that your crush is dangerous?’ He crossed his arms in front of his chest. ‘Because I seriously doubt he could threaten me.’
‘And why would you want to compete with him?’ she mimicked his stance.
‘Who says anything about competing?’
‘Well, you just preemptively stated you’re better than him,’ Marinette pointed out.
‘I most certainly did not!’ Chat spluttered. ‘The saying goes that curiosity killed the cat. I can’t see any danger though. The only thing that might kill me here is a cold I might catch while looking for you in this weather. And my comment simply referred to that.’
Marinette looked as if she was holding back a laugh. ‘Maybe you should start taking an umbrella with you then?’ she asked.
‘Can’t parkour with an umbrella, Princess,’ he countered. ‘Anyway, this cat needs to run. Thank you for the clues,’ he bowed.
‘See you next rainfall,’ she giggled.
Those two clues got Adrien only so far. He could exclude the girls, but there were plenty of boys Marinette saw every day. How to make sure he wouldn’t miss the right one? After some consideration, he decided to spend more time in Marinette’s company. It didn’t took much to convince Nino to join the girls for breaks and lunch. The boy was even relieved he didn’t need to choose between his bud and his girlfriend. And that left Adrien with a perfect and inconspicuous opportunity to spy investigate observe.
Marinette interacted with plenty of boys, smiling warmingly at every person who approached her, offering advice, encouragement or praise. It was a pleasure to witness her in action, sending everyone on their way in a better mood. No wonder people were drawn to her. She had both charisma and charm, necessary in a leader, but matched with her kind heart, they made her shine like a star.
Still, she treated everyone the same. No playing favorites, no suspicious behavior. He must have been missing something.
‘Tell me something more about your crush,’ Chat asked next time he found her in the rain.
‘He’s sensitive,’ Marinette replied.
Nathaniel? Nathaniel was sensitive. He was the artistic type, and Marinette was always supportive of him. But it was known that Nath used to have a crush on her, so if she reciprocated his feelings why weren’t they a couple? No. It couldn’t have been Nathaniel.
‘Is your crush good at sports?’
‘Yes, most definitely.’
So Kim? But Kim was dating Ondine and Marinette definitely rooted for them. And before that, when the jock was interested in Chloe, their pigtailed classmate supported him. It couldn’t have been Kim.
‘He’s smart.’
Max? Max was the smartest of them all, and he shared gaming interest with Marinette. She was always friendly towards him, and even risked a detention when he had brought Markov to school for the first time. But she never actively sought his company. Max spent more time with Kim and Alix. Nah. It couldn’t have been him.
‘He’s kind.’
Nino. Nino was a very kind person. They knew each other for ages and he also used to have a crush on Marinette. But just one look at the girl as she watched Alya and Nino together dispelled his suspicions. There was so much happiness in Marinette’s eyes at the sight of that couple, without a hint of jealousy, that it left no doubts. It couldn’t have been Nino.
‘He has a talent for music.’
Maybe Ivan? But from what Adrien had heard Marinette was trying to help Ivan confess to Mylene even before Ladybug’s assistance. Nah, not Ivan then.
Luka? Marinette always enjoyed his company. He was a fan of Jagged, just like her. And as Adrien had spotted, he was definitely impressed with Marinette. She didn’t act different around him, but she was pleased with his compliments. Hmmm, maybe this was the right track.
‘How does he look?’ Chat finally gathered the courage to ask for a more substantial clue.
Marinette frowned, and he instantly felt guilty. He knew her better than to think she was after looks. Besides, she never mentioned physical appearance, only personality traits. That was more important.
‘He is handsome,’ she said reluctantly, ‘but that’s the only detail about his looks I’m willing to share. For all I know you could be stalking me outside of the suit, and apparently I’m quite obvious around him, so knowing how he looks you’d guess right away.’
Only later at home did Adrien realize she unconsciously had given him two clues that night. As to the handsome part - as far as Adrien was concerned beauty was a very relative and personal thing. Every guy he had so far considered was handsome. That could have been basically anyone. But she admitted that she had been acting different around her crush. How could that be, if Adrien hadn’t noticed? There was one possibility he hitherto hadn’t thought about - Marinette might have been seeing her mysterious boy outside of school. At the bakery, or even before her rainy walks. Maybe that was the reason she was so happy while getting wet? Somehow instead of feeling excited at this new conclusion Adrien felt a heavy weight setting in the pit of his stomach. Why was this making him so nervous?
‘Does your crush know about your feelings?’ Chat figured this would be the least invasive way of checking, if she had been seeing the boy before her walks.
Yet instead of confirming, Marinette dropped her gaze to her pink boots and shook her head sadly. ‘I’m too shy to talk to him about this,’ she confessed. ‘So no, he doesn’t know.’
Shy? He always thought Marinette was a very brave girl, and the few times he had witnessed her facing a difficult or dangerous situation, she always kept her cool. It was hard to imagine her not having the courage to do anything. But maybe her crush’s presence made her tongue-tied, like he sometimes felt as Adrien when encountering Ladybug?
Still, he felt a bit sorry for her. Somewhere out there was that oblivious boy, who got the heart of a wonderful girl, and instead of making her happy, he hadn’t noticed what was right in front of him. What a fool, Adrien thought. How that boy could not see someone as amazing as Marinette?
He decided he needed to find that idiot and knock some sense into him. Marinette deserved to be treated like a Princess. She deserved to be adored, loved and cherished. So he, or rather Chat, would not rest until she got who she wanted.
