I genuinely can't think of a television show that so badly fails to wrap up or justify almost all of its major plot and character threads in the way Arcane did. That's special.
#imagine establishing a conflict between an underclass and a rich oppressive class.#and setting up a character from the undercity as a figurehead for their struggle.#and then when it comes time to unite the two.#a random guy gives a speech about it#and even though nothing has materially changed between the upper city (had the undercity under martial law for years. recently threw#a bunch of dissenters in prison. none of this has been remedied or addressed)#but it's fine because a guy- not the figurehead that was set up for the city to look up to! just a guy- says it's time to fight together#so they do#so unearned?#just like cait's face turn was unearned.#why did she do that? oh because it was time for her to do that.#and also two of the three black characters were stuck in an astral prism for most of the season? 😭#and the third one was evil??#why introduce THAT many plot threads in a 9 episode season.#bad television.#arcane spoilers#it's alive!
