i should get carving tools. i miss carving.
#the bin#i never was very good at it but i havent done it since i was like 12. i lived it because i could just go get wood from outside to use#i lived right in the middle of the woods with so many branches and fallen trees and stuff so there was so much to cheese from#there was also a bunch of long grassy straw like stuff growing in the yard so i used to carve brooms and stuff#it makes me sad i dont have any of them anymore. i like carving because you are taking away not adding or shapibg something new#i find clay hard to work with because i have to shape something moldable. its so hard for me to get details without squishing the other side#i mostly use polymer clay and i know other kinds are much better for it. but theyre more expensive. needlecrafts mean shaping something with#what youre using so its also a pain. carving you start with a solid object and chip away at it until you are happy. much easier for me#and easy to f9rgive myself for being bad at it. itd probably be good for me anyways becaus eitd giev me reason to be outdoors#you CAN carve indoors but it leaves so much wood chips and stuff and thats annoying to clean up and can leave so much splitery stuff#its much easier to just do it outside. and because its just wood chips from branches its not a problem to leave them around#esp bc its wood that i get from that very yard. theres some small woods nead where i live now too so getting wood will still be easy#theres not nearly as many nice straight branches and theres different kinds of trees for a lot of them but theyre still nice#i miss getting buckeye wood for free supwr easy too. its relaly nice for carving. its soft and i like the fuzzy look you can get real easy
