alessia had been on england camp since monday and it was now wednesday, you had accompanied her for the short camp.
but since arriving alessia hadn't had the most smooth couple of days like she usually would and that was because she wasn't able to take her eyes off you for more than a few seconds in fear that you would be up to something you shouldn't be.
on top of that she had noticed that a couple of things weren't here that she needed. like her training socks, which she had to go and ask the kit man for some spares putting it down to her forgetting them when being asked why she didn't have them. brushing it off she forgot about it quite quickly, you taking her focus as you were in your little trouble maker mood at the moment.
as the other day alessia had turned her back for one moment and you had vic pelova looking down into a full water bottle telling the dutch that she was looking at something inside the bottle before you squeezed the bottle into her face. ice cold water dripping down the poor dutches face.
today was travel day, the girls were playing back at wembley and had the day to recover after having a light training session early this morning.
everyone was eating breakfast, you had ate yours probably too fast for your mums liking but nevertheless she couldn’t be mad because at least you had eaten. knowing that you couldn’t play until you had eaten majority of your food.
alessia was sat talking with a few of the girls her gaze looking over to you every so often to check you weren't doing something you shouldn't of been doing — instead seeing you just colouring in content while also watching the cartoon that was playing on your ipad.
"so how is the little munchkin?" mary asked as alessia had turned her attention back to the table after checking on you for the fiftieth time in the past three minutes. alessia eyes going wide, pulling a face that said it all.
"that doesn't sound good" georgia pointed out as alessia hummed.
"she's starting to get a little naughty, like the other day i walked into her bedroom and she had drawn all over her walls and then proceeded to say it wasn't her even though she had the pen in her hand." alessia explained the girls trying to stifle their laughter as the blonde spoke.
"did it come off the walls at least?" beth asked as the blonde shook her head, proceeding to explain how her brother was thankfully going to repaint the walls for her.
"didn't she bite someone at nursery as well? tooney was on about that the other day, weren't she" millie commented looking towards mary for back up, the goal keeper nodding. the blonde groaning as she thought back to the day.
"wait you never told us girls this story"
"yeah i wanna hear it!"
"so i went and picked her up as usual after training, and then the teacher pulled me and began to tell me how she had bitten a little boy but when i asked her why she did it she said that the boy bit her first but the teacher never mentioned that part so i don't know what to think!" alessia explained the girls humming along to show that they were listening.
“are we sure she isn’t the devil in disguise?”
"well if he bit her first then her biting him is totally valid" georgia said shrugging mary agreeing mumbling something about it was good she was sticking up for herself — the other two however not as convinced, "yeah but if you give her that excuse, she'll go around biting everyone" beth said as the other two both hummed.
“that’s is true, she did make him a card to say sorry though so-“ alessia shrugged a chuckle coming from her as the others awed at the thought of you sitting and spending your own time to make a card to apologise.
“was the card made before or after you banned her from using pens?” millie asked but before alessia has a chance to reply you were heard yelling to get your mums attention.
"mummy! mummy!" you called over, alessia still talking with the girls, "look mummy!" you appeared a bright smile on your face as you held onto your top holding out a sticker.
“wow! what did you get that for?” your mum asked as she looked to you holding her hand out for you to high five. “i helped one of the coaches-“ you began but as you carried on your explanation, alessia’s eyes went wide your arms were covered in big bright red drawing and doodles you had done all up your arms
"oh my god" your mum whispered to herself, her hand stroking up your arm to find out if the pen was dry or not. "lovie, why have you done that for?" your mum sighed thinking about how on earth she was going to get the pen off.
you shrugged in response to your mums question, a smile on your face clearly happy about the colour of your arms, glancing over to the girls sat around the table who were trying to keep their smiles and laughter in.
"what have you drawn on your arms with?" your mum asked as your ran back over to your little table to grab the pen. alessia's head falling straight into her hands as a loud groan came from her.
"at least she knows what colour north london is!" leah joked trying to bring light to the situation, her and few others the only ones laughing as alessia brought her head back up shooting a dirty look to the captain.
"not the time leah." alessia mumbled through gritted teeth as she saw you running back over. pen in hand.
"this one mummy!" you held out a red sharpie towards the blonde. of course it couldn't have just been a simple crayola pen, it just had to be a permanent marker that you had somehow found.
mentally alessia was screaming, physically she was trying her best not to scream and stay as calm as possible.
"where did you find that lovie" alessia calmly asked as you explained how you got the pen, that you had found it in the pen pot which you weren't exactly lying you did find it in the pen pot but it wasn't your pen pot.
it was the pot that all the adults used but you didn't think they would mind if you borrowed it. alessia could feel her patience running thinner and thinner as the seconds went by.
since the drawing on walls situation at home incident alessia had made sure to hid each and every single pen possible, instead only allowing you to colour with pencils and even still that was under supervision. this was adding to the reasons of why it would be a while until you were able to retain your pen licence back.
"less have you seen my boot-" ella began holding one boot in her hand as she stopped at the sight of you, "woah that's a nasty sunburn tiny!" the manchurian gasped ruffling your hair as few laughs heard from her teammates as she turned to them not knowing what part of the joke she was missing.
"mate, how's she gonna get a tan never mind sunburn when it's seven degrees outside!" beth deadpanned as ella nodded along realising how silly her comment was.
"silly auntie ella, it's pen!" you giggled as ella's eyes went wide. the pieces fixing together but confusion hitting her as she knew about your redecoration of your room and the fact that alessia has hidden every pen in sight. "i thought you had banned her from using pens?"
"i have!"
“the devil in disguise strikes again!”
after many layers of baby oil and tissues most of the pen had came off your arms much to your protests that your mummy was getting rid of your artwork.
you had managed to make it down to the lobby where the team was beginning to gather for the bus arriving, people swarming around with big camera asking some of the girls questions.
you were sat with your mummy, you sat with a small coffee table in front of you. a picture game you had been playing with spread across the table.
"lovie? what's in the backpack?" you mum asked as you struggled to get it on your back, it looking very full. alessia trying to remember if it looked like that when you both arrived on camp.
“just my things” you huffed, the backpack dropping off your shoulder and onto the floor. “what things?” your mum pushed wondering what on earth you could have in your back to make it so heavy considering she had all your clothes, and your ipad in her bag.
“do you want me to carry it for you?” your mum asked as you shook your head mumbling a no as you lifted the bag up with great difficulty onto the seat. “well how about i help you put it on, yeah?” she smiled as you nodded a little admitting defeat.
you picking your backpack back up and passing it to your mummy who was sat down on the chairs in the hotel lobby. you stood in between her legs waiting for her to help you put it on, slotting one arm through the strap and then the other.
you mummy keeping you still for a moment as she pulled the zip a little, showing a glimpse of what was inside. a confused look taking over the blondes face as the sight of things which definitely were not yours.
opening the bag up a little, alessia discovered where her lost training socks along with her headphones she had thought she had forgotten as well as ella’s lost boot, millie’s t’s shin pads, chloe’s water bottle and beth’s slider.
the blonde laughing to herself as she took each item out placing it on her lap, you turning about once you thought you mum had finished putting it the bag on your back. “mummy it feels light- hey there mine!” you frown turning around and seeing the things that were in your bag on her lap.
“lovie, these are the girls’ things” your mum explained, you backpack falling to the ground as your pout got bigger, “but i found them?” you said hopefully that you would be able to keep them.
“i know, but these still belong to the girls and they might be sad if they don’t have them anymore and we don’t want to upset anyone do we?” your mummy smiled softly, as you looked over to some of the girls who were starting to gather in the lobby before it was time to get on the bus, looking back at your mum you shook your head.
“good, now can i give these back to their rightful owners?” your mum laughed slightly as you pout loosened and you nodded. you mum kissing you on the forehead as she sat you on the chair she was on, picking up the items in her hand as you grabbed your ipad to watch. your mummy telling you she would be a few seconds.
the blonde walking over to the little huddle near the coffee machine where beth, ella and millie were. “are you now the lost property box like?” ella joked watching as alessia walked closer to them, millie and beth laughing as alessia sarcastically laughed along.
“one purple boot, two shin pads and a slider!” the blonde smiled as she handed each of them their stuff back. “where did you find these?” beth asked as she looked at her slider.
“lovie, ‘found’ them and she’d put them in her backpack” alessia explained as the three awed as a few giggles followed.
“the devil strikes again!”

what do you, as an Israeli, think of Standing Together? asking entirely in good faith because I see things supporting them a lot, but it's always from American Jews and (no offense to us), I don't totally trust that we're informed enough to know what we're talking about and what their perspective and usefulness truly is in the way that someone who actually lives there would. so many orgs are untrustworthy or covertly antisemitic and it made me curious for your perspective. thank you for everything. <3
Hi Nonnie!
Sorry it took me a moment to reply, but I hope my answer can still help you!
As an idea, Standing Together is a movement that I should have been all for. They are pro-coexistence, and so am I. There's no doubt in my mind that Jews aren't going anywhere, and neither are Arabs, and we are all better off working together for a good future for all. Supposedly, that's ST's message, so they absolutely should be an organization that I would be all for.
BUT from everything I've experienced, the narrative that they adopted is way more one-sided than their official stance, they're closer to being anti-Israel than balanced, which makes them problematic for me. Especially when you look at the individual actions and statements of many of this movement's leaders, it's evident that coexistence to them comes at the expense of historical facts, as well as certain Jewish rights. Obviously, the leaders' personal positions influence the movement's stance and actions.
For example, in this interview from Nov 2023, a Jewish leader of the movement falsely calls Israel's 2014 operation in Gaza against Hamas, "a war against Gaza and its people" (brief summary: Hamas kidnapped and murdered three Jewish teenagers in Judea and Samaria, Israel launched Operation Brother's Keeper during which it arrested some of Hamas' terrorists in that area looking for intel on where those 3 kids were and what happened to them, Hamas fired rockets from Gaza at Israel to get its terrorists released and used terror tunnels, including ones that crossed the border from Gaza into Israel, to kill and kidnap our people. That's what Israel ended up fighting against in Operation Protective Edge), while an Arab leader of ST defines their way as one which rejects "maintaining violent military control over millions of people," but says nothing against the terrorism that's used against millions of Israelis and Jews.
In terms of the recent war, since Oct 7 they have come out calling for a ceasefire now very early on in the war (I can't remember when they started it, but I know by Dec 7, 2023 they'd already put out a vid calling to stop the war, when really the ground operation only started about a month earlier, before it could possibly achieve anything), meaning this call was undermining Israel's right (and duty!) to defend its citizens, and asking us to surrender our goals of returning all the hostages and destroying Hamas' rule (only the latter can prevent Hamas from fulfilling its promise to carry out more massacres of the type that started this war, and has claimed so many lives on both sides). Another thing you can see in that vid is ST participating in spreading the false narrative that Israel is intentionally starving the Gazans (you can see the same thing in this poster, which says in Hebrew, "Thou shalt not starve." It's a poster for humanitarian aid they were supposedly bringing into Gaza, as if the IDF would ever let anyone bring anything they want unchecked into a war zone, or as if the amount of aid a few Israeli cars could bring is more than the hundreds of trucks Israel has been allowing in, checked. ST's just posturing and spreading an anti-Israel libel). Helping to spread a libel against one side is NOT being pro-coexistence. Imagine if they were spreading a libel that all Gazans are Hamas terrorists, and took part in the massacre! I think it's clear that, even if it's not simple to tell them apart, there are people in Gaza who are complicit, and people who are uninvolved and innocent. So if ST were spreading such a libel against Gazans, I'd oppose them. I am not going to do less when ST is spreading a libel against my own people.
I hope one day they correct course, but I can't currently support them. Give me REAL solidarity between Jews and Arabs, which sees and recognizes the humanity of both, not a repeat of the de-humanization of Jews, and a surrender of Jewish rights to an anti-Jewish narrative. That's not real peace, it's not real coexistence, it's a return to the way that we Jews have had to live for centuries in exile: always dependent on the good will (or lack of it) of the majority under whose will we lived, forced to bend ourselves, our rights, our dignity, too often even our very lives, to our subjugators, in the hope (and without any guarantees) that they will show us some kindness.
Many of the movement's leaders have not only expressed themselves in a way that reflects an acceptance of the anti-Israeli narrative, and took one-sided positions I can't agree with, they also acted in ways that have left me feeling quite unsafe.
For example, one of ST's founders, Yeela Raanan, joined and supported the violent Palestinian riots on Israel's border with Gaza, organized by Hamas, meant to breach the border fence, which started in 2018. Today we know these riots were a part of Hamas' preparations for the Oct 7, 2023 massacre, as they were getting the IDF used to them coming closer and closer to the fence. TBH, those of us listening to the statements of Hamas' leaders, we didn't need to wait for the border to be breached in order to know that it would be a bloodbath if they succeed. Sinwar's promise that they will reap out the hearts of Israelis with spoons from our chests was enough. Also, the repeated use during these riots of flags and kites with swastikas was pretty telling. So yeah, I can't trust anyone who supported that.
The movement is also financially supported in part by funds, such as the New Israel Fund, which finances a lot of good causes, but also many anti-Israel ones, and the German fund Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, which supports the antisemitic BDS movement (it's antisemitic first of all because one of its stated goals is to put an end to Israel as a Jewish state, another reason is their use of antisemitic tropes in characterizing the Jewish state).
The ironic thing is that, despite how imbalanced against Israel ST is, it was still the so-called pro-Palestinians who actually started a campaign to boycott the organization. Not because of anything specific ST said or did. It was simply for being an Israeli organization, showing the diversity of Israeli society, which is apparently bad 'coz it "normalizes" Israel's existence. That shows you the anti-Israel nature of this opposition, that no amount of willingness to cooperate with the de-humanization of Jews and erasure of our rights will ever be enough for people whose real motivation is antisemitism, that wishes to see an end to the Jewish state.
I hope this helps, Nonnie! Once more, my apologies for how long it's taken me to reply. Be well!

“Here are your winners and the new WWE undisputed tag team champions! Jimmy and Jey, THE USOS!” Dominique spoke into the mic, with a smile on her face. The smile quickly dropped from her face as Jon stormed over to her and pulled her with him, out of the time keeper's area and into the crowd towards the backstage area.
“Jon.. What are you doing?” She asked as she stumbled after him, trying to keep up with his long strides. She was confused, because he was definitely going off script. He was supposed to be out there attacking Randy and Riddle with his brother and cousin.
Jon didn't respond, his jaw clenched as he continued to pull her along. “Hey, what the fuck!” She yelled at him when he pushed her into The Bloodline’s empty locker room, causing her to stumble in her heels. “What is your problem!?"
“You fucking Randy?! Huh! Is that why you won’t forgive me!” Dominique snorted and crossed her arms over her chest.
“And what if I am? You were definitely gonna fuck that girl last night , oh and don’t get me started on the fact that you spent the night with Trinity.”
“Don’t fuckin’ play with me Dominque.” He gruffed out as he stalked towards her, backing her into the wall.
“Ain't nobody playin’ with you. If you can do it, so can I.” She shrugged, not backing down as she stared into his eyes. Jon closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew she was testing his patience and it was working. Jon opened his eyes, his jaw clenched as he struggled to keep his composure.
“Imma ask you one last time.” He muttered as he opened his eyes to look at her. “Are you fuckin’ Orton?"
Dominique rolled her eyes. “No, I'm not like you Jon, I would never cheat on the person I love.” Jon's expression darkened at Dominique's response. The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Jon sucked his teeth just as Joe and Josh walked through the doors. Jon ignored them though, keeping his glare on Dominique. “Stop with that bullshit Dominique. I aint cheat on you and I never will.”
“What bullshit Jonathan?!” She yelled.  “I have caught you up in TWO bitches faces and you got the nerve to be acting like this because what? Randy was comforting me!”
“He don’t need to comfort you Dom! Thats my fuckin’ job!” Josh decided to step in between them.
“Aye, y’all chill out.” He said placing his hand on Jon’s chest, pushing him back from Dominique.
“I’m chill.” Dominique said, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “It’s him, he needs to chill.”  Joe snorted, then held his hands up defensively as she turned her glare to him.
“Y’all are perfect for eachother,” He muttered as he walked into the bathroom to take a shower.
“We been together for four fucking years and I’ve never even thought about another woman. I fuck up one time and you won’t let it go. I’m sorry Dominique” He stressed, trying to grab her hands but she swatted him away. Josh shook his head at them and walked out the room to call his wife, he was happy as hell he wasn’t Jon right now.
“Jonathan, it’s not just one tiny little fuck up. You let that woman into your  space. You let her think that she actually had a chance with you.”  Dominique tried to stop her tears from falling, but she was hurt and angry and looking at his face wasn’t making her feel any better. “And then, you spent the night with your ex? You didn’t come to me, you didn’t try to talk to me, you went to her and I'm supposed to just forgive you?”
Jon stood there frozen as he watched the tears fall down her face, his heart heavy with the weight of Dominique’s pain that he caused. This was the second time in the four years they had been together that he had made her cry; the first being when he proposed in Paris.
“If I can take it all back I would Dominique.” Dominique sniffled and wiped her tears away.
“I don’t wanna talk about this anymore.” She muttered as Joe walked out the bathroom. “We have a flight to catch, are y’all ready?” Without waiting for a response she walked out of the locker room and towards the writers room to grab her bags.
Jon watched her walk away as a feeling of hopelessness washed over him. Their relationship was hanging on by a thread and he feared that with every passing moment, that thread was growing thinner and thinner. But he also knew that he couldn't force Dominique to forgive him, couldn't demand her love in return for his apologies.
“Sis, you okay?” Josh asked her as she walked past him.
“No,” She shrugged, sending him a soft smile. “But I will be.”
“I know Jon’s my twin, but I'm here for you, aight?” She nodded.
“Thank you Josh.”
Back in the locker room Jon groaned and plopped down on the steel chair. “You know I don’t like to get in y’all relationship business.” Joe started, walking closer to his cousin. “But Dominique is the one for you. I mean after you broke up with Trinity and brought Dom around, everyone and I mean everyone was skeptical about y’all relationship. But shit the whole family loves her now. Y’all gotta fix this,”
"I know, Joe," Jonathan admitted, his voice heavy with regret. "I messed up, big time. I don't know how to fix things with her."
Joe placed a reassuring hand on Jonathan's shoulder, offering him a sympathetic smile. "You just gotta show her, man.”

“Hey” Ishana said as Dom walked in. “You look rough.” Dominique rolled her eyes.
“I feel rough.” She muttered, walking over and grabbing her luggage.
“Jon again huh?” Dom nodded and let out a sigh. “So y’all still beefing?”
“Yes, he seems to think that he can just say sorry and everything will go back to normal.”
“Have you expressed how you feel though? About the whole situation, why you don’t wanna get married?” Dominique sighed and rolled her eyes.
“Ishana, I don't wanna talk about my problems with Jon right now.”
Ishana ignored her, “Communication is key, Dom. he’s taking accountability and you need to too.” Dom scoffed but Ishana held her hand up to silence her. “Okay I get it the girl kissed him and yes, he went to Trinity this morning  but to be honest you were looking for a way out of the engagement anyway.”  Dominique's eyes widened. Ishana's words hung in the air, heavy with truth and accusation. Dominique felt a mix of shock and anger rising within her, her mind racing to process what she had just heard.
“You’re joking right? Now is not the time to be funny.” Dominique said glaring at Ishana. “No, I wasn’t tryna find a way out of my engagement. I wanted to get married to Jon, just not right away.”
Ishana rolled her eyes.
“Bullshit. Ever since yall got engaged you’ve been picking fights with him and as your best friend it’s time I spoke up and told you about yourself. Yes he fucked up by letting that girl into his personal space but he’s been trying to talk to you, trying to apologize to you but you blocked him, how can he make things right if you’re closing off all communication with him?"
“You’re supposed to be on my side!”
Ishana shook her head, not believing how stubborn her best friend was being. “There is no sides, Dom. I want you and Jon to be happy. And in order for that to happen, you need to grow up. Not all marriages end in divorce.” Ishana said, grabbing her pocket book and walking out the room. Dominique stared at the closed door in shock. What the fuck was that?!

Their Daughter Part 6
Tenison was high in the dining room of Grimmuald Place as the Black brothers stared one another down. Regulus knew that part of Sirius's anger was because he thought he had lost his child to his brother, much like when they were young, and their parents favored Regulus over him. But this was Sirius's own fault; Ali had tried even after she had been hurt that Sirius went to Harry first. Sirius could not get over the fact that Ali was close with the Malfoys and had taken to projecting his anger to the only person who would love him more than anything if he tried.
Sirius wouldn't admit it out loud, but he was jealous of Regulus. He always had been, but coming back from the hell he had been trapped in to find that his own daughter had chosen his brother over him hurt more than any torture he had ever faced. Regulus had always been the perfect child who everyone adored. He had gotten fewer beatings as a child than Sirius, had gotten better grades in school, and now was considered a dad to Ali. It was only natural for Sirius to go back to what he did during his school years and focus his attention on the people who showed him attention. Harry was his godchild, but Harry also had no one else, meaning Sirius didn't have to worry about being replaced. Sirius also felt awful for the events that transpired the night of James and Lily's deaths and was trying to make up for it.
"If you just gave her a chance, you may find she is much more like you than you think." Regulus sat at the table again, watching his older brother run his hands through his hair. "She is so headstrong and stubborn that I know it revivals yours. And I cannot express enough how she just wants to be good enough for you to love, much like how you tried for years with Mother."
Sirius sighed in defeat, regrettting the painful things he had put his daughter through. "I do love her. I just…."
"Are shit at showing it. I saw the look in your eyes when Ali called me dad; I know that hurt you. But instead of talking about it, you just lash out at her or me or Remus, making it seem like you really don't care at all. I never tried to fill that role in her life. I was and will always be Uncle Reg, and that is fine. Do I see her as my child and love her like my own? Yes, absolutely. I will do anything for her, and if that fills that role as a father, I will. But I don't want to take that from you. You had so much stolen from you in your life, Sirius: your childhood, your parents, your best friend, 12 years of your life. The last thing I want to do is take more away, but I cannot and will not put you above her. She deserves so much in this world, and you should help her get it. We both should. But the question remains: will you put aside your 'every Slytherin is a Death Eater' mindset to do so? Because people have changed and we are close to the Malfoys, Notts, Parkinson's, and the Zabini's. They are not the same people anymore. Things have changed in the war; sides have changed. But you haven't. Ali is loyal to a fault and is a great judge of character; she won't betray the Order, nor will the others. Just give people a chance, Sirius."
"I did give people a chance, and it…..it got my best friend and his wife killed. We trusted Peter. I trusted Peter enough to have James make him the secret Keeper. It got them killed, and he was our friend. How am I supposed to trust that Lucius Malfoy has the Order's best interest at heart when my own friend of 9 years didn't?" Sirius started pacing before his brother. His head is cloudy in memories, tears blurring his eyes as his best friend's dead body flashed in front of him. "I know that I'm shit at showing Ali I love her, and part of it is because I'm scared to get close only to lose her again to someone like Lucius Malfoy. I owe it to James to look after Harry, but that doesn't mean I don't love him like my own because I do. But I love Ali just as much, and I know she has you, Remus, and even Snivillious to love her. And I want to try to improve things with her; I just don't know how. How do I fix what I've done, Regulus?"
Regulus caught the double meaning to his brother's question, "You can't. Sirius, you can't fix what happened to James and Lily. You can't fix how you've treated Ali so far."
Sirius felt his heart crack at his brother's words. He had hoped to get Ali back, but it seemed he had gone too far. He started for the stairs when Regulus continued.
"But that doesn't mean you can't fix it from now on. You can't change the past and bring James back, but you can make them proud by loving and protecting Ali and Harry. I mean, yeah, they don't get along now, but I think part of that is because he has seen and heard how you and James treated outsiders. I know they used to play together as babies, not that they would remember it, but Remus told me. Tell how close they were till everything happened, and bring them back together. Stop being afraid of losing Ali to someone when all everyone wants to do is love her and keep her safe. And maybe you don't trust Lucius or the others right now, but I trust them more than Dumbledore most of the time. And you should talk to Moody about the help Lucius has given the Order even if he refuses to say he has aligned himself with us." Regulus held his brother's shoulder, "Give them a chance. Don't let the other kids make remarks about Ali and her friends. Talk to her. I wouldn't start trying to act like her father, but maybe a friend? Or a really distant uncle. You'll figure it out, Sirius; you're smarter than you give yourself credit for."
Sirius followed his brother up the stairs, going to bed with hope, lighting a flame in his heart for the first time in years.
Days following the talk between Regulus and Sirius, Ali noticed that the golden trio had become slightly nicer to her. She does not make as many comments about her or her friends. She had no idea what was happening but wasn't going to complain. Regulus had come to her that morning telling her that he thought it a better idea if Blaise came to their house instead of her going over there. He believed it would show that the Slytherins were not as bad as all the others thought.
At first, Ali was hesitant about the idea. Still, after being reassured that Remus would be home as well as Regulus, Ali agreed. The thought of Blaise being at her house surrounded by her tormentors made her sick to her stomach. She wanted nothing more than to run away for a few days, but that ship had sailed, and it was only hours before Blaise arrived when Regulus called for 'those who live in this house meeting.' By the time Ali had gotten dressed and cleaned her room, everyone was already in the kitchen since it seemed to be the usual gathering place for the group. She straightened her sweater and did a quick glance down to make sure her outfit was still okay. It was slightly chilly in the house, so she had gone with a Bulgarian Quidditch sweater that was mainly red with black details and a pair of cropped black leggings with matching fuzzy socks. She and Blaise had already decided to stay for most of the day and then go and get dinner somewhere in Diagon Ally so she could change later. Remus and Regulus walked at the same time as Sirius and Harry.
"I'm assuming everyone is confused about why this meeting was called," Remus started. "There seems to be an assumption that Slyertians and those associated with them are all Death Eaters or traitors."
Scowls had overtaken most of the younger one's faces in the room, as well as Sirius's. Ali looked at her uncle, trying to figure out where this was going. She knew the reason was to inform everyone that Blaise would be here for a few days, but there was something else going on; she could feel it.
"After speaking with Dumbledore and getting his permission, not that I technically need the permission as it is my house, but nevertheless. A few individuals will be coming to stay here for the upcoming days, and there will be a couple of visitors as well." Regulus's eye caught Ali's, and gave her a wink just as the sound of footsteps entered the foyer. Ali was too short to see over everyone's heads to see who was there, but from the looks on a couple faces, including the elder Weasley, it was someone they were not fond of.
A flash of white hair caught Ali's eye as the group entered the kitchen. Her mouth dropped in shock as she took in her uncle Severus, leading the Malfoys, Blaise, and Theo towards Regulus and Remus. Cissa shot her a wink while Draco eyed Harry and Sirius up and down; Blaise kept his eyes locked on Ali, and Theo thoroughly enjoyed the shocked looks from the Weasleys.
"Sorry, we're late. Draco took too long in the mirror this morning," Severus said. Draco glared at his Godfather before continuing on with his glare at Potter.
"Well, allow me to introduce everyone. This is Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy, which I'm sure almost all of you know. This is Blaise, Theodore, and Draco. Narcissa and Lucius will be in and out for the next bit trying to get caught up on Order business while the latter three will be staying here for a bit." Remus shook Lucius's hand before joining Dora beside Ali, who was bouncing on her toes, overly excited at the fact that it was going to be back to normal in the next couple of days.
"You can't be serious. They are staying here?" Sirius exclaimed, running his hand down his face before glaring at Lucius. "I still remember what you did, Malfoy."
"I don't often agree with Sirius, but Dumbledore said this was alright?" Arthur asked. Ali knew that the Malfoys hadn't been the kindest to the Weasleys in the past, and she felt sorry for them in that aspect, but Lucius was not the same man as he was during her first year. And Narcissa wouldn't hurt a flea.
Remus stepped forward again, "He did. Narcissa and Lucius will be helping with some scooting missions that are coming up since they know that area of town better and are considering joining the Order. The three brats are mainly for Ali, though."
"Did you miss us short stack?" Theo opened his arms for Ali, who jumped straight into them. Theo gave her a twirl before pulling on her braid. She barely had time to catch her breath before Draco had her spinning again and tickling her sides, making her squeal.
"Of course I missed you! What kind of question is that?!" Ali giggled before hugging Blaise despite her uncle Remus glaring at them. Blaise took her hand and gave it a squeeze when they parted before facing the other children in the room. Theo and Draco took the opposite sides of Ali, showing a united front against the ones who had been horrible towards her.
Ali was ecstatic that they were going to be in the house more. Maybe her summer wouldn't end so badly. Sirius was shocked that Dumbledore had cleared this and even more shocked that Lucius would help the Order. He did not trust him and would go on those missions even if he had to go as Padfoot. This was outrageous and downright stupid, allowing death eaters to snoop freely in the Order business. Looking at his daughter, he could see how happy she was to be surrounded by her friends, but he also knew that he would have to keep a closer eye on her than he already was. He had asked the trio to play nice so he had more people watching her. He did trust that she was a Death Eater, and now he was surrounded by them.
"Al, Kreatcher sat up extra beds in your room for the boys. Pansy should be joining later, but she had something come up with her grandfather. Her mother said she would owl when she was on her way." Regulus leveled each of the boys with a look. "You lot know the rules. I don't care if you have fun but clean up after yourselves, and don't be too loud when it gets late. Curfew is at 10pm and no later. If you are leaving the house, go in pairs at least and let one of the adults you know be aware of where you're going. You lot know the food is fair game, and Kretcher has already been instructed to grocery shop more often. The house is also fair game, but be respectful, please."
"Don't worry, Uncle Reg. I'll keep them in line," Draco smirked at the other three before Severus whacked him upside the head.
Ali turned and looked at the younger swarm of redheads and others in the room. She cleared her throat to get the attention on her, which made her take an unconscious step back toward Blaise and Draco. "Everyone, this is Theo, Blaise and Draco. I'm sure most of you know this, but just in case. You are welcome to join our fun, but we get if you don't want to." Ali pulled the boys out of the room after greeting her aunt and uncle. They sat on the living room floor with wizards, chess, and a few other games while a movie played in the background. Kreacher brought out snack trays for them, and the laughter was music to Regulus's ears after all the quiet he'd heard from Ali this summer.
Ali could feel the stares from those around them, most directed at Draco and her. She could see the disbelief every time Draco laughed or made a joke. This was the side of Draco that was rarely seen by others. An hour had passed before a chess match went on between Draco and Ali. Blaise sat to one side of Ali, and Theo was in the middle of her and Draco, watching the death match continue.
"What dare shall I have you do this time, Als" Draco taunted her while he moved his piece. It was an ongoing rule that when she and Draco played wizarding chess, the loser had to do a dare of the winner's choice. It was always a toss-up in who won, as both were incredibly good at the game.
"Don't think too hard; I wouldn't want to overwork that one brain cell of yours." Ali stuck her tongue out at Draco when she stole his knight.
Draco was about to reply when a shadow came over the top of the board. Looking up, there was the eldest two Weasley children and Fleur. Ali could see the hearts in Theo's eyes before she kicked him in the shin. "She's engaged, you idiot."
Bill and Charlie chuckled, "We saw you guys playing games and were curious if we could join you? I have my board and thought we could do a little tournament."
Charlie held up his chess board. The teens all nodded, and with a snap of his fingers, Charlie's board was all set up. Bill took one side of the board before looking at Theo. "You up for a challenge?"
Theo crawled to the opposite side of the small table. Bill made the first move, and the game commenced. Charlie and Fleur took seats around the rest of them and started trash-talking with them, too. Charlie was on Ali's side, whereas Fleur took Dracos. Regulus, Molly, and Narcissa looked around the corner and had smiles spread across their faces at the sight they saw. It wasn't the younger kids trying to get along with the others, but the eldest and Molly knew that her children all looked up to their brothers, so maybe there was hope in this crazy plan after all.

sirius black x slytherin!potter!reader
w/c: 2.9k
summary: sirius is so enamored with you, his best friend's sister, that he's too distracted to play properly. when a poor play by sirius renders you severely injured, he and james must handle the aftermath.
Tumblr media
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Tensions were high between you and James the day of the first Gryffindor-Slytherin match of the year. Walking into the Great Hall together, you jumped up to tousle James’ untamable hair, earning a mocking laugh from him as you came up short, just managing to grasp the tangles at the back of his neck. You groaned.
“This is bullshit! My birth was a rip-off! You got every damn tall gene and I came second and you saved me none, you… you-” You were cut off by a pair of strong arms across your waist, lifting you in the air as you shrieked. Sirius grinned mischievously at you as you realized what he was doing. Practically tackling James, you jumped onto his back and clung your arm around his neck as you were finally able to dig your fist into James’ head as he let out a strangled yelp.
“Get off me, you pest! You should’ve never been born in the first place,” James shook you off as the three of you burst into laughter, Sirius shoving his friend forward as the two approached the Gryffindor table and you departed to the Slytherins.
“Your sister is… really something.” Sirius glanced over his shoulder at you, who was slapping your knee with mirth as you caught your breath at something Regulus had said. His stomach panged with jealousy— no, pre-game nerves—as he watched his younger brother swing an arm around your shoulders.
“She means well. Being friends with Regulus, I mean. I know you guys aren’t on the best terms, but I think they’re good for each other. Keeps the two of ‘em from hanging out with that crowd.” He juts his chin towards Severus, Avery, Bellatrix, and Mulciber.
“You’re right, it’s just… don’t you wish she was a Gryffindor sometimes? She’s fun and nice, and she gets along with the lot of us so well, and…” and pretty too, he thought guiltily.
“Don’t tell me you’re going soft on her, Padfoot. You know her, she’s an absolute menace.” James elbowed his friend good-naturedly. “Now eat. She’s also a mean seeker, and I am not about to get beat by my younger sister in the first quidditch match of the year.”
Remus caught Sirius’ eye, eyebrow raised subtly. Curse Moony and his stupid perception.
Sirius was caught up in his thoughts the rest of the morning, even as he was putting on his quidditch gear. Godric, what is wrong with you? Have you truly gone mental? She’s your best mate’s younger sister. Younger, too! Too young for you, and too good for you, and she’s James’ sister! James Potter, your friend who would kill you if he found out about your feelings. Which don’t exist, of course. No, you don’t have any feelings for her. It’s brotherly affection. It’s-
“PADFOOT!” James’ face was right in front of his. “You’ve been off your game all day, mate. We’re starting in 5, you gotta get your shit together. And I know you have a tendency to go easy on my sister—which I normally would appreciate, by the way—but this is war! On the pitch, she’s not my baby sister, she’s the enemy. Act like it!” James clapped as he led the team into the stadium, cheers exploding from each of the houses, minus Slytherin. Opposite the Gryffindors approached the Slytherins, led by their keeper and Captain, Emma Vanity, whom you had gushed about on multiple occasions. You wiggled your eyebrows at your brother, meeting Sirus’ eye with a poorly suppressed smile. Sirius pursed his lips to hide his own.
The older Potter and Vanity shook hands, his face immediately hardening as the young Madame Hooch called, “mount your brooms, please. Now, on your marks…” Hooch’s silver whistle cut through the stadium as the teams shot upwards. Davey Gudgeon’s dramatic throat-clearing as he amplified his voice filled the air.
“AND THEY’RE OFF! LOOKS LIKE MALFOY IS QUICK TO GRAB THE QUAFFLE WITH POTTER ON HIS TAIL; OHH, BLACK IS QUICK WITH THE BLUDGER AND POTTER HAS POSESSION OF THE QUAFFLE!” From your peripheral, you saw Mulciber lean forward on his broom to catch up to your brother, with Malfoy closing in on the other side.
“AND POTTER DODGES A BODY BLOW WITH A SLICK DIVE, LIVING UP TO HIS REPUTATION AND THAT BLOODY PRIZE I HAVE TO SCRUB DURING DETEN-”
“STAY FOCUSED, DUGEON.”
“Right, my bad Professor… THERE GOES THE LITTLE POTTER AFTER HER BROTHER, YOU KNOW THE TWO OF THEM ARE QUITE ATTRACTIVE, I’VE ALWAYS WONDERED IF THEY HAVE VEELA BLOOD-” With a huff, Gudgeon’s commentary was cut short with an impatient elbow from McGongall.
Your smile only grew at the Slytherins cheered your name; you relished the stinging wind against your cheeks. You swore you caught a glimmer of gold underneath James as he escaped Mulciber and Malfoy, but it was nowhere to be seen now. Returning to a circling position above the rest of the players, you made eye contact with the Gryffindor seeker, Patricia Rakepick, a seventh year who couldn’t help her soft spot towards you, despite the complaints of the older Potter. You grinned at each other, until Rakepick broke eye contact and whizzed right past you.
“RAKEPICK, LOOKING LOVELY AS EVER, HAS SPOTTED SOMETHING! POTTER IS JUST BEHIND- OW, LOOKS LIKE A NASTY HIT FROM MR. SIRIUS BLACK HAS INCAPACITATED WILKES. NEVER FEAR, ROSIER IN POSESSION OF THE QUAFFLE… MACDONALD’S BLUDGER MISSES… AND HE SCORES! 10-0!” The Slytherin stand roared, a sea of green and silver erupting from their seats.
While Wilkes pumped his fist and blew exaggerated kisses to the Slytherins, you took an opportunity to find Rakepick. There she was, with the snitch just a few meters away!
“IMPRESSIVE SLOTH GRIP ROLL FROM RAKEPICK TO DODGE MEADOWES’ BLUDGER… LOOKS LIKE THE SNITCH HAS GOTTEN AWAY.” Sirius took a second to glance up at you, as if to assure you hadn’t been caught up in the bludgeoning. Of course, you were fine. You were a perfectly capable quidditch player; why wouldn’t you be fine?
“POTTER STEALS THE QUAFFLE FROM WILKES, WHO’S BACK IN THE GAME… NICE TWIRL FROM POTTER AS HE MISSES LESTRANGE’S BLUDGER… MALFOY COMES IN AND SLYTHERIN IS IN POSSESSION OF THE QUAFFLE AGAIN!”
“Sirius Black, what in Godric’s fucking hell are you doing? You’re supposed to be bludgening Malfoy and his lot! Get your head in the game!” Sirius woke from his trance as fuming James flies past him, chasing after Lucius.
“MCKINNON INCOMING… SHE’S GOT THE QUAFFLE AND SHOOTS… AW, A GOOD SAVE FROM VANITY AND MALFOY’S GOT THE QUAFFLE AGAIN!”
The glint appeared right in front of your eyes. As Malfoy sped towards the Gryffindor goalposts, the snitch followed. Your blood raced with adrenaline as you wove between your older brother and the other chasers, hot on Lucius’ tail. Lucius was fast, but the snitch was faster.
“LOOKS LIKE THE YOUNGER POTTER HAS SPOTTED SOMETHING; COULD IT BE THE SNITCH? LOOK AT THAT- GOING HANDS FREE AS SHE FLIES OVER MALFOY’S HEAD… RAKEPICK COMING IN FROM THE LEFT…”
Amidst the chaos, the snitch had begun a rapid descent. You and Patricia Rakepick dove after it, but your smaller frame pushed completely against the handle of your broomstick gave you just that extra push of speed. Your fingers were mere centimeters from the snitch as Sirius raised his bat, knowing James would murder him if he let Gryffindor lose with 0 points just because of his reluctance to attack James’ little sister—perhaps even worse than what he’d do if he found out Sirius liked… no, Sirius didn’t… he was just…
In his internal fight, he hit the bludger with a resounding crack as it began spinning and gaining momentum as it whizzed towards you. It was too late for you to react before you were violently knocked off your broomstick, one arm reaching desperately for the handle. There was screaming from the stands as you fell through the air clutching your hands to your chest, but you couldn’t hear anything with your heart thundering in your ears. The players froze as James let go of the quaffle to race after his sister, your eyes closed as you cursed Hogwarts for not letting students apparate and cursed yourself for not being able to apparate anyways. Sirius, momentarily frozen, heard Remus and Peter’s voices shouting for him to do something, anything. His stomach twisted as he followed James down, hoping that at least one of them would be able to reach you in time.
He was wrong. You hit the ground with a dull thud and a whimper, followed by a crunch that made both James and Sirius wince. How many meters was that? Sirius didn’t want to know. Madame Pomfrey was quick to rush to your side while Madame Hooch motioned the players to come down for a time out.
“Give me space! Out of the way, boys, I need to see her.” Pomfrey fought her way past the panicking Sirius and James, who turned as they heard Remus and Peter’s footsteps approaching with Lily in tow; Regulus coming from the Slytherin stands. Sirius glanced at his younger brother, who pressed his lips together in a forced smile. Sirius was about to open his mouth and say something when Vanity stormed over, face flushed, Marlene and Dorcas following behind.
“Sirius. Fucking. Black.” She emphasized each word with a shove to his chest, standing a couple of inches above Sirius. “What was that? What were you thinking? You nearly killed her! Wait, did you kill her? Is she dead? Holy shit, you’re fucked up, you know that? What the fuck is wrong with you?” She was crouched next to you only moments later, gently brushing your hair out of your face with calloused fingers. Pomfrey swore under her breath, tapping her wand against your chest rhythmically, her fingers pressed against your neck checking for a pulse.
“Good news everyone! She’s not dead.” Pomfrey announced to the small group which had gathered around. “But the bad news is she’s severely fractured multiple ribs, appears to have major head trauma, which would make sense because she fell off her broom for the sake of this stupid, dangerous, purposeless game,” she said, pinching the bridge of her nose, “a broken arm, and a bruised tailbone.” Pomfrey stood up and gestured to allow the students to check in on you as she and McGonagall spoke in harsh whispers.
“Shit. Shit, shit shit. Fuck.” James was the first to jostle through, collapsing to his knees in front of you. McGonagall didn’t even look his way as he spewed profanities. Sirius couldn’t move. It was his fault. He got distracted. James told him to get his shit together, not kill his little sister! And, like the screw-up he was, he did exactly the latter.
Your eyelids fluttered as you saw James’ terrified face above yours. With a weak groan, you opened your hand, the snitch in your scraped palm. “We win,” you chuckled hoarsely, wincing as pain tore through your chest.
“You’re such an idiot. You’re incorrigible, you know that? Can’t ever stay out of trouble,” tears slipped down James’ face, leaving tear marks as they washed away the grime on his cheeks.
“Is she okay?” Lily whispered in James’ ear, who was too caught up in his worries to even think about how close the love of his life was to his face. James could only sniffle. Dorcas rubbed Marlene’s arm while Peter patted Sirius on the back and Remus rubbed his shoulder, sensing his distress. Sirius could only watch as Regulus took your hand, fingers passing over the small scuff next to your eye with Sirius’ eyes fixed on his brother’s movements with a clenched jaw.
“Listen, you’re gonna be okay. I’ll take you up to the infirmary and stay with you until you feel better,” Regulus smiles reassuringly. “C’mon, up you go.” Pomfrey levitated you onto a stretcher and headed for the castle, Regulus by your side. McGonagall shooed Remus and Peter away, insisting they weren’t needed here and instructed the two captains to deal with their respective teams. But Sirius couldn’t move; it was as if he was tethered to the ground in chains of guilt and jealousy watching your figure disappear.
“You good, mate?” James threw his arm around Sirius’ shoulders as Peter and Remus walked away with concerned glances thrown over their shoulders.
“Prongs, I nearly killed your sister! Why the fuck are you asking me if I’m okay?” Sirius hissed as he pushed James away, storming towards the locker rooms.
“Hey, don’t ignore me!” Sirius ignored him. “I said, don’t ignore me!” James slammed his hand against a locker as he blocked Sirius’ path, hoping to force a word out of his friend, but Sirius only looked at the ground.
“It’s not your fault, Pads. She’s the toughest quidditch player I know. More so than you and I, even,” he forced out a laugh. When Sirius continued to refuse to make eye contact, James grabbed him the shoulders and shook him roughly.
“Hey, I hate to resort to this, but this isn’t bloody about you and your guilt. First of all, it’s not your fault. You did exactly what you were supposed to, and an accident happened, and she’s gonna get Pomfrey treatment, which means she’ll be on bed rest until she’s completely good. That woman’s ego could not handle having a patient leave without full recovery, you know that. She’s in good hands.” Sirius’ red-rimmed eyes flickered between James, looking for any trace of blame. There was none.
“Second, moping around and drowning in your emo feelings will do nobody any good, except maybe Slughorn, who’ll get a real kick out of your silence in Potions. Go shower or something, you smell like Snivellus; meet me in the infirmary when you’re done, okay?”
Sirius watched James disappear into the distance, just as he watched the water disappear into the drain, and just as he felt any chance of being your friend disappear into thin air. All he ever wanted to do was keep you safe, and make you smile that radiant smile of yours, and if he was lucky, bring out that infectious laugh that turned him stupid every time he heard it. Now, he was lugging equipment up to the infirmary with damp hair and puffy eyes, not ready whatsoever to face you.
“Padfoot, you’re here! She’s still asleep.” James motioned for the sullen boy to join him and Regulus at your bed. Regulus was once again, by your face, threading his fingers through a strand of your windblown hair. There it was, that feeling in his gut. It was probably hunger; he hadn’t eaten a proper breakfast and then he’d played quidditch.
Sirius sat across from Regulus, who looked up from beneath hooded eyes with a silent glare which Sirius read to mean, “don’t you dare come near her. You don’t deserve her. She’s mine.”
“Alright Mr. Potter, you smell awful, and Mr. Black, you’ve been here for too long. The both of you—out!” Pomfrey ushered the two boys out, much to their protests, and turned to Sirius with something that looked like pity in her eyes. “As for you… you get eight minutes.”
Sirius watched as you slept, brows furrowed. He reached to brush away the dirt on your forehead, but his hand froze just as his fingers came close enough to feel the warmth of your skin. He stiffened, wondering if he even had the right to be sitting next to you when he was the reason you were here in the first place.
“Please… please, you have to be okay. You have to. I don’t know what I’d do…” Sirius murmured, finally finding the courage to swipe his fingers across your skin. “You know, James says he doesn’t blame me for this. Is it selfish to wish I wasn’t here right now? You- even when you sleep, you’re so-” he couldn’t bring himself to say it out loud; it felt dirty, like a betrayal to his brother. You’re so beautiful. You’re so reassuring. You’re so strong.
“I haven’t even gotten the chance to tell you how I feel. I don’t know how I feel, actually.” Sirius laughed mirthlessly. “But I feel like I should. I should know how I feel, I mean. I should know how I feel about you because you- you’re always so confident and I can’t be that for you; I can’t even get my shit together.” He sighed, pulling his hand away from where he had been rubbing gentle circles against your temple, wondering if you’d hate him. The worst part was, that he knew you wouldn’t.
Sirius sat by your bed for a while, head between his hands as he replayed the fall— the way your eyes closed as if you had resigned yourself to the inevitable impact, the way he foolishly thought he could save you, and the way he didn’t. He jumped at Madame Pomfrey’s chill hand, freshly sanitized. You don’t belong here, all sterile and bland. You’re nothing like that. You’re the light. You’re my brilliant, Gryffindor red and I’m not even brave enough to tell you how I feel. Or to fucking admit how I feel to myself.
Sirius could hear Pomfrey’s foot tapping in concern as he left the infirmary, picking up his quidditch equipment from the floor and wishing he had never stepped foot in the stadium at all.

(Series)Meeting The Parents
Tumblr media
Summary:you met joes parents for the first time and they absolutely adore you
———————————
Y/n pov
It’s game day here at OSU and I’m so excited! Joe is finally playing! I also get to meet Robin and Jimmy, joes parents. I’m honestly quite nervous but I know they are loving people and amazing parents!
I’m wearing black jean shorts that aren’t to short and an OSU cropped long sleeve shirt with converse. My hair is down and curled at the ends and I put the front pieces up into clips. As I was walking into the stadium I see Robin and Jimmy. They quickly noticed me and walked over with some cousins and joes brothers.

“Oh wow! Thats amazing!”-daniel
“Thank you! It’s a lot of fun!”-you
After talking with joes brothers for a bit the game finally started. All of us were cheering and stressing. As fourth quarter hit and the clock was 0:20 we knew we were going to win, and we did! I was so proud of Joe!
After the game ended we all walked down into the family area where the families wait for the players to come out. After a couple minute wait Joe finally came out. I let joes family greet him and congratulate him before I ran up to hug him.

“Awww y/n! I was so lovely meeting you and I hope to see you soon!”-robin
I hugged her and gave Joe one last hug and kiss then took off.

“Omg Joey I love her!”-robin
“Same!”- Daniel and Jimmy
“Good, because she’s the one.”-joe
Robin looked up at him
“Really! Omg Joe! Do you love her?”-robin
“Haha, yeah! I really do love her, mom! She helped me get rid of all my anxiety during the game. She said something to me this morning when I was getting nervous and I kept repeating in my head what she said during the game and it helped me so much. She makes me happy, like really happy! She just gets me and understands me.”-joe
“Awww! I’m so happy for you! I can see the way she looks at you and the way you look at her! That’s true love,Joey!”-robin

March Reading and Reviews by Maia Kobabe
I post my reviews throughout the month on Storygraph and Goodreads, and do roundups here and on patreon. Reviews below the cut.
Delicious in Dungeon vol 4 by Ryoko Kui
I'm reading these books so fast I can barely remember which parts of the plot happened in which volume but know that I am still having a great time!
Delicious in Dungeon vol 5 by Ryoko Kui
Oh, this story has taken a darker turn, and also just introduced a whole bunch more characters. Will I be able to keep track of them all? I hope so!
Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb, read by Anne Flosnik
Unfortunately, this is definitely the weakest Robin Hobb book I've read so far. I was expecting to like it less than the glorious, 5-star previous trilogy, but I actually think I'm going to skip the rest of the Rain Wild Chronicles and read summaries online to get to the next Fitz books. This book follows five main POV characters. This works fairly well for the first half, when the characters are all in different physical locations. However once all of the characters meet up, we start getting the same scene from multiple different POVs, which feels extremely repetitive. Also, almost EVERY SCENE includes a flashback, often a lengthy flashback, sometimes to something that happened only the previous day and could have been told as present-moment action. This writing choice baffled me. It's something I can't remember struggling with in any of Hobb's previous books, but by the end it was driving me up a wall. The book also moved very slowly; the stakes feel lower, and the character far less emotionally true than in the two Fitz trilogies. Disappointing, but I will keep moving forward towards the next part of the series I want to read.
Delicious in Dungeon vol 6 by Ryoko Kui
Damn, a lot of characters get murdered in this volume! Good thing almost everyone who dies in the dungeon can be revived. Also, very excited to finally meet the cat ninja I've been seeing fan art of since before I even started the series :3
Delicious in Dungeon vol 7 by Ryoko Kui
I am still completely caught up in this series. I love the glimpse of Senshi's past revealed in this volume, and the lore of the dungeon that is still being revealed. There was a line in here about how the dungeon leaves you alone if you don't ask much of it, but that if you have strong desires it throws even more obstacles into your way. Our heroes have such big goals right now, but they're marching ahead regardless!
School Trip by Jerry Craft
A satisfying new installment in the New Kid series from funny, talented, charming Jerry Craft! I appreciated how this volume started to complicate some of the students who had been left a bit one-dimensional in previous books. Several people stood up to and called out a bully; new friendships were built; and Jordan Banks left Paris even more inspired than ever to follow his dreams of becoming an artist. This series has a lot of jokes, but also a lot of heart!
A Frog in Fall (and Later On) by Linnea Sterte
Minor frog is less than a year old, and is dismayed when winter begins to steal all of the light and warmth from his world. Instead of bunking down safely with his mentor to wait for spring, he sets out on a journey with two vagabond toads passing by on a quest to make it all the way to the tropics. They tramp through the Japanese countryside, encountering tree spirits, new friends, dangers, and views the likes of which minor frog had never even imagined. This is a gorgeous book; every page worth pouring over, an economy of line and detail building a beautiful and mysterious world of talking animals and miniature packaged foods. Made me want to draw.
Dark Rise by CS Pacat read by Christian Coulson
In 1820s London, orphaned Will tries to earn enough as a dockworker to survive- and evade the killers pursuing him. Violet dresses in her half-brother's clothes and sneaks onto a ship in the Thames to watch a man be branded with his master's mark. Katherine excitedly anticipates her engagement to one of London's richest and most mysterious lords; his gallantry nearly makes up for the fact that he's twice her age. And in the bowels of one of that lord's ships, James tortures a man for information. All of these characters are 16 or 17 years old, but all of them are tangled in an ancient conflict between the Light and the Dark which stretches back into an age of magic before history. This is CS Pacat's YA fantasy debut, and it contains a lot of tropes very familiar to both YA and high fantasy- there are shades of both Tolkien and Rowling in this. Its fast-paced and action-packed, but especially in the first third of the story, the characters all felt fairly thin. None of them have quirks, hobbies, career hopes, relationships outside of immediate family, school, or work; or much more than a brief sketch of past. It took until the mid-way point for what I consider Pacat's major strengths as a writer to emerge: intense, homoerotic interpersonal sparring between characters operating under major power imbalances. Every scene in which the seductive, manipulative, powerful evil gay faced off against the good boy chosen one crackled with energy. Unfortunately, there were only four of these scenes in the whole book. It ends on a cliff-hanger, because of course it does, with a tempting set up for book two; but that doesn't entirely excuse the fact that the first 50% felt like set up. I will definitely keep reading, but long-time Pacat fans should take note that this is toned down version of what I expected based on Captive Prince.
Feeding Ghosts by Tessa Hulls (re-read before event)
What an accomplishment! I savored every page of Feeding Ghosts, absolutely floored by the labor and courage that went into the writing of this book. The inking is gorgeous, the history is clear, digestible, and devastating. This book threads the line between honesty and compassion in a way that I appreciate so much in any memoir, but especially one dealing with family. Hulls lays out the story of three generations of women starting with her grandmother, Sun Yi, a Shanghai journalist who faced intense persecution during the rise of Communism in China, who penned a popular and scandalous memoir and then suffered a mental breakdown. This left her only daughter, Rose, a student at an elite boarding school with no parental figures and no other family to lean on. Eventually Rose earned a scholarship to an American university and in the end moved her mother into her California home. Sun Yi haunted that home during the author's own childhood. The unexamined trauma and codependency of Sun Yi and Rose drove the author to the extreme edges of the Earth, seeking freedom from their ghosts. But in the end, she stopped running from her family history and turned, instead, to face it. Shelve this book with Maus, Fun Home, Persepolis and The Best We Could Do. Re-read it for a second time and got even more out of it on a second pass.
Delicious in Dungeon vol 8 by Ryoko Kui
Laios and company realize that their encounter with changling mushroom rings had more consequences than they'd realized- its the body swap episode! This visual humor is contrasted against increasing dangers from both above and below, as nastier monsters and political machinations begin to close in on our heroic adventuring party. I'm now over halfway through this series and almost feel like I should start reading it more slowly to savor it, but I'll probably just keep devouring it instead.
Lunar New Year Love Story by Gene Luen Yang and Leuyen Pham
High school senior Val grew up knowing her family was unlucky in love; for generations, relationships in her family have ended in heartbreak. Her childhood love of Valentines Day ends with a shocking family revelation and what feels like the beginning of a curse. Then her Vietnamese grandmother sweeps her off to a Lunar New Year celebration in downtown Oakland and a pair of cute lion dancer boys catch her eye. Could one of them break the spell on her heart? This story offers a classic and satisfying rom-com, with Val torn between an outgoing, rich, but flaky boy and a broody, shy, loyal one. The story takes several kdrama style twists and includes ghosts, saints, red envelopes, confessions, fights, reunions, tears, and kisses. For a comic, its wordy; the pages are dense with small panels and thick with dialogue, but also illustrated with such warm, humor, and realism. I really liked that the story included as much of Val's relationship with her family and best friend as romance. And the lion dancing scenes practically leap off the page with color and energy!
Witch Hat Atelier vol 10 by Kamome Shirahama
This series remains as visually stunning as ever but I'm struggling with how every single book expands the cast. There are so many characters now that I don't care about that much, and have trouble remembering from volume to volume. I wish the story line would stick more closely to Coco, her classmates, and their main mentors!
Delicious in Dungeon vol 9 by Ryoko Kui
Oh the stories are all converging! The savior at the bottom of the dungeon is probably a demon! Ituzumi saves the day! I am still having a great time reading this series.
A Dowry of Blood by ST Gibson read by Abby Craden
A short, very queer, very poly retelling of Dracula focusing on his coven of enthralled lovers. I liked the way the book breezed through history, as the dysfunctional little family moved from one major European city to the next, with snatched moments of glittering joy interwoven with violence and plague. The story is fairly simple, and has a happier ending than I expected, or honestly think the characters deserved.
City of Dragons by Robin Hobb
I DNFed the previous book in this series and just read a summary online before skipping ahead to this one. I think that was a very good choice for me. This third one was more engaging and a bit more action packed, with some cool discoveries about the city of Kelsingra and the nature of Elderlings. But the Rain Wild Chronicles as a whole do not stand up to the quality of the Farseer books. There are so many POV characters that a few of them get only two or three scenes in this whole book. I don't feel that I deeply know any of these characters; while at the same time watching Hobb pair them off at an extraordinary rate- in the last book five sets of characters got together and in this book an additional two couples are developing feelings for each other. Between this and a kidnapping, a birth, a murder, and a lot of blackmail, this series feels like a soap opera.
Delicious in Dungeon vol 10 by Ryoko Kui
Almost two TPKs in this volume, yikes!
Delicious in Dungeon vol 11 by Ryoko Kui
You know shit's getting serious when the character who has been the series main villain up until now is partially devoured by a different, worse villain. Exciting changes coming to this dungeon under it's new lord and master!
Squad by Maggie Tokuda-Hall and Lisa Sterle
When Becca gets invited to sit with the popular girl clique at her new high school, she's thrilled. But the friendship turns bloody and complicated when she learns that her new friends are actually werewolves who need to kill and feed on a human once a month. If she joins them, Becca will gain superhuman strength and a pack; she'll never have to fear a male predator again, because she will be a predator herself. I loved the queer rep and the twist on werewolf lore; I wish it had been a little longer and more developed. Give me multi-page transformations sequences!
Delicious in Dungeon vol 12 by Ryoko Kui
I love seeing all these plot lines come together! Building towards a wild climax.
Delicious in Dungeon vol 13 by Ryoko Kui
I went out and *bought* vol 13 of this series because my library didn't have it yet, that's how hooked I am. And now I have to wait until JULY for the final volume! (But also, thank goodness I didn't get into this series any sooner or I'd have a much longer wait).

Break (Bernard the Elf x Reader)
Tumblr media
Request: Ok I've been brainstorming an idea for Bernard and ok here's what I got ok Reader is Santa's introverted kid and them and Bernard are in an established relationship and he's like the reader's emotional support so they follow him everywhere like an introvert dragged to a party but they would totally back off if he told them to
A/N: @fo-babes I believe this was your request ;) just in time for the holiday season and some new Bernard content next week. Part 1 of your birthday one shots. No matter how retired I am on this blog, I'll always room to post for you. This blog brought us together and I don't know what I'd do without you in my life, you've kept me sane this year when nothing else would. Here's to another 19 years of life for you, hopefully that I'll be able to tag along for! I wouldn't rather be anywhere else. Also, yes you did make me that gif I used of Bernard. Thanks!
“Make sure the painting gets done before Santa gets back or he’s going to freak out. Nice work though!”
Bernard stood up straight from where he’d been bent over, assessing one of the many jobs that needed to be done in the workshop. Christmas was still, thankfully, a ways off. Just over 100 days to be exact, they had time to perfect every little thing before it came. He was in good spirits today. There was a lot of time to get things ready and Santa was out, visiting the Millers, leaving him to run the workshop on his own.
He loved having Santa around, but sometimes it was nice to have him gone so he could keep all the elves on task.
Another reason for his good mood was the lack of Curtis, the keeper of the handbook. Normally he was attached at Bernard’s hip, talking his ear off and giving him a splintering headache. Today, however, it seemed he decided his talents would be better used elsewhere. Bernard was grateful for that, he began to continue on his way.
In Curtis’ place, was you. Santa’s eldest child, you’d made the move to the Pole with him when he came to stay here full time. Your relationship with the Millers from what he understood was rocky, you rarely left the Pole with your dad to visit. The only way you would come was if Charlie, your little brother, specifically requested your presence.
He wished he understood why. Laura and Neil had been a little too much when he’d encountered them, but they were generally harmless. In his opinion, at least. Santa enjoyed spending time with the family so that had to account for something.
He wouldn’t pressure you to tell him, though. Some things were just better left unsaid.
When Santa was gone, you always hung around him, even if you hated being around the workshop. The alternatives were hanging out with the other elves or sitting at home with Carol, who you were still getting used to and neither were super appealing to you.
Bernard had noticed when you first arrived here that people (or elves) were not your thing. In the beginning, being around anyone but Santa and Charlie would immediately cause you to shut down. He had been determined to win over both the Calvin kids, and his persistence was eventually rewarded tenfold. The two of you ended up becoming close friends, then later a couple. Everyone was really surprised you warmed up to him, none moreso than your father.
He felt extremely blessed to be in the fortunate few who got to see the real you.
You huffed behind him as he walked to the next table. The long hours in the workshop were starting to get to you, he knew. But there was no way you were going to leave, unless he told you to and he wasn’t about to force you out of the comfort that being near him brought.
He did feel a little guilty though, this was probably very exhausting to endure and he wasn’t about to be finished any time soon.
He smiled apologetically back at you as he bent down to oversee the teddy bear fluffing.
While he offered his advice, your gaze wandered around you to the bustling around you to get work done. The amount of elves here made your head spin, back in the regular world being in a place like this would be something you avoided, of course, you had to date a guy… an elf… who worked in one of the busiest places in the world.
“... we can go somewhere quieter.”
You came back to your senses when you realized Bernard was talking to you, his hand gently went up to rest on your forehead. You leaned into the touch, bringing yourself back to reality as his concerned eyes searched your face.
“I’m fine, you have work to do. You can’t leave the workshop,” you swallowed the lump in your throat. Soon dad would be back and then you could spend more time with Carol without feeling awkward. You could make it until then, but Bernard didn’t seem convinced.
He set what he’d picked up from the work table in his other hand back down, patted the elf seated there on the back and turned back to you. Taking your hand, he pulled you along with him to the front doors of the workshop.
“Bernard, what are you doing- you have work and dad-”
Stepping out into the cool air where there were less loud noises and bustling immediately calmed you inside. You still felt tired from the long exposure but at least your senses weren’t being constantly inundated with new stimuli.
He pointed to the edge of the little North Pole village. “Do you remember when we grabbed cocoa and snuck out here while Santa was busy being distracted by a mess Curtis made? And you still wouldn’t talk to me so I did most of the talking?”
You did remember that day. Back in those days, Bernard often looked for moments to steal away with you. He had been so determined to spend time with you, it didn’t seem to bother him in the slightest that you weren’t too keen on making friends. It had been a huge shock for you, so used to the people back in Lakeside. Back there, if you weren’t super extroverted and talkative you just kind of fell to the wayside.
You had never told him but you’d been super bummed that day, it was one of those rare days where you wondered if moving to the North Pole was a good idea. You missed your brother and weirdly, your mother and Neil. It had been a shock to find yourself missing them, considering you’d always been closer to your dad. During the divorce, you’d taken his side which had stung your mother. The relationship ever since had been rocky, but you knew she still wanted the best for you.
Sneaking out for cocoa with someone had been exactly what you had needed that day.
“Yeah. And dad found us hours later. He dragged you back to work, I’ve never seen him so annoyed with you,” you laughed as the two of you began a leisurely stroll.
His cheeks turned slightly red, as he looked away. “Not one of my brighter moments, I’ll admit. I’ve never had a Santa lecture me like that in the thousands of years I’ve been working here.”
There was comfortable silence between the two of you for a few moments after that as you thought about what he’d said and wondered why he’d brought it up.
“The next time we talked, you spoke to me for the first time outside of forced, curt introductions. I was ecstatic, I think getting in trouble really broke the ice.”
“I felt bad for getting you in trouble. After all, you only suggested leaving because you noticed I was getting uncomfortable in the workshop. And dad shouting orders wasn’t really helping. I felt like I owed you something,” you kicked the snow, smiling, “you just did it again. Risked your spot, even though dad’s not here, to comfort me.”
He looked at you. “It was worth it then and it’s worth it now. You’re worth it, I mean.”
You nudged him with your shoulder, not knowing what to say. After all, everyone here knows Bernard is proud of his position as Santa’s Head Elf. To hear him say he’d risk it any time for you, is a little surprising.
The shock must’ve been apparent on your face because he suddenly stopped walking. At his side, you stopped yourself from walking forward abruptly not expecting the sudden stop. The stop made you lose your balance and he reached out to steady you, realizing that he should’ve warned you vocally before randomly deciding to stop.
“Are you surprised?”
“To hear you’d prioritize anything over work? Surprised is an understatement. I know I can be a little much, especially when dad’s not around-”
Bernard nudged you with his shoulder. “You’re not a little much. You just need time and patience, the best things in life do.”
Your face heated up at his words, it was hard sometimes to be the way you were. To struggle with speaking to people, to fight the urge to isolate yourself from everyone. You had always assumed that was a burden to everyone around you, even the ones who managed to crack your hard shell.
To hear Bernard speak as if it was just perfectly normal…
“We should go get cocoa! On me!” You broke the weird mood that had temporarily settled over the two of you and before he could say anything, began to pull him along in the direction of the nearest spot for cocoa.
He let you drag him.
Sure, there were a lot of things about you that other people might find annoying but seeing you in moments like this made it all the worthwhile. He rushed to keep up with your pace, wrapping his arm around your shoulders as he caught up with you, no longer needing to be dragged.
You smiled and he felt his heart skip a beat.
He needed to take breaks more often.

Aegon Targaryen x Sister Targaryen Oc
A/N: Second part of My Brother's Keeper. Again ,not my best work but I hope you all gonna like it nonetheless.
English is not my native language. Sorry for any mistakes.
Part 1
Tumblr media
Rhaenerys stared at Dragonstone, which became clearer and bigger with each beat of her dragon's wings.
Behind her was Rhaenys on Meleys back, and Sunfyre, faithfully following her rider, who still held his sister's hand like a last resort.
Aegon didn't say a word to her, burying his head in the hollow of her neck, fighting his own battle in his mind, and the woman in front of him wasn't planning to interrupt him.
As she descended to land, she felt her heart beatiting harder, leaping up to her throat. She couldn't have foreseen what would happen when they arrived at the castle, she was not able to. All she could do was pray that her earlier words would prove true.
She walked through the darkened corridors, steered her steps towards the main hall. The guards did not question her presence or inquire about the reason for her arrival, allowing her to move freely towards the desired goal, which was her older sister.
When the white-haired woman saw her, she smiled, but the corners of her mouth quickly fell, seeing her serious expression and Aegon with Rhaenys behind her back.
-Sister, you came back quickly - the woman noticed - Has something happened that you decided to change your plans?
Rhaenerys walked slowly towards her.
-I would prefer you to sit down - she said in a remarkably calm voice, as if nothing had happened before the morning.
-I am not made of glass - she announced, grabbing the hands of the white-haired princess standing in front of her - So tell me what's going on and why our younger brother came to visit me.
-Our father ... he's dead - she said softly, and seeing the realizations in Rhaenyra's eyes, she squeezed her hands tighter -Alicent wants to put Aegon on the throne, but you are the rightful ruler and you will sit on the iron throne. They already know we ran away, but they don't know where, although I suppose the first place they will check will be Dragonstone- she confessed, glancing at her uncle.
-I'll call the council - Daemon announced, not hiding anger mixed with regret.
-Why ... why did you take Aegon with you?- the princess asked, frowning slightly.
Her sister looked back. The white-haired man was still standing in the same place, stiffened, watching.
-Leave us - the young woman unexpectedly informed - Lead the prince to my chamber - she added, glancing at the standing guards.
With the two sisters alone, their eyes held wordless conversation most of the time, neither was sure how to start or what to say.
-I avoided bloodshed - Rhaenerys confessed -The only thing that could tear down the house of the dragon is itself. I don't want to let our family prove that this claim is true, Rhaenyra- she added.
-That is why there is a man here with you, whose is search by half of the kingdom- the woman remarked surprisingly coldly.
-What do you think I was supposed to do? - white-haired Targaryen asked - I couldn't leave him, I gave us extra time and delivered news to you about the betrayal. And you're only interested in why Aegon is here.
-You put our life in danger, I know that our brother is close to you, but do you really think that tearing him out of greedy hands of greens is a good idea? I do not want to start my reign in the ashes of other people death bodies- said the princess, leaning on the stone table.
-Do you hear yourself future queen? - asked the young woman, not hiding the irritation that grew in her - Or you so blinded by the jealousy and bitterness towards your siblings, who from birth were treated better by the people than us?
Rhaenerys, no longer wanting to participate in a conversation that was getting nowhere, departed from her older siblings. Disappearing behind the door, leaving them alone with their own mind.
She felt tired and could no longer listen to the stubborn beliefs of the people around her.
Tumblr media
Aegon, hearing the sound of the entrance opening, turned his head towards it. His sister walked over to him without a word, hiding her head in the hollow of his neck, as he did many times when he needed to feel safe.
The prince embraced the violet-eyed immediately, trying to protect her from the outside world as she did with him mant times. He wanted to be the one who cares for her for once, not the other way around.
-I just wanted to keep our family together - she whispered unexpectedly against his skin, clenching her hands against the fabric of his clothes.
His eyes softened.
-You are not able to save everyone- fair-haired man noticed, taking her cheek uncertainly- We are cursed.
-I don't want to save everyone, just those who got caught up in something they never wanted to get involved in - Rhaenerys said, looking into her brother's eyes.
He studied her beautiful face for a moment, then with the other hand he brushed a strand of her hair back, tucking it behind her ear.
-This world doesn't deserve you- Viserys' eldest son said- I don't deserve you. I never did.
-You deserve me, Ageon - the young woman whispered -You deserve the best because life has never done you any good- she remarked, joining their foreheads together and closing her eyes -We have both been abandoned by the gods, so we must stick together. We are made of fire and we will burn together.
-Forever - her brother promised, kissing her soft lips desperately.
The man found the ties of her black dress, slowly tugging on them, exposing Rhaenerys's white back. She let him move however he wished, feeling the familiar sense of warmth appearing only in the embrace of a lover.
On that day, their bodies fused into one.
With every movement, kiss or brush of their hands, you could had feel desperation pouring out from both sides. Nothing could've tear them apart, they had been together too long to be able to refrain from exploring their bodies after years of separation.
The silver-haired girl held Targaryen close, fearing that he would vanish like an illusion, not realizing that he felt the same.
They were like two dragons dancing among themselves.
Their flame only intensified as the two smoldering ends found each other fully, creating a fire that consumed them in its depths.
Only the sound of a knock on the door pulled them away from their eager lips and addictive touches.
-The Queen needs you - said Daemon, when she stood at the door to her chambers -She will not make the final decision without the Hand and her brother.

So... definitely spoilers under this cut cuz holy shit the episode went all ways fucked today! But...
First things first, loved the ruthlessness of the Spider Queen and the gods kinda opening a channel of communication as to why they are insisting so much about champions and the urgency (especially the Matron and SQ)
That was a whole lot of physical, mental and emotional damage thrown all the fuck around so I go character by character
Morrighan, known the Crown Keepers for the shortest time and yet, the way she goes to preserve Opal's memories and her hesitation to leave but still knowing that she needs to go and giving Opal a promise to save her memories
Fy'ra accepting the Wildmother's call, jumping in on the Spider meeting because she cannot lose another sister, no matter what and just also watches as Dorian, Dariax and Morrighan leave, probably not knowing what motivated them to.
Cyrus was just in the sidelines. He didn't have to die 😭😭😭😭
Opal. Poor Opal. She didn't really know what was really at stake and now she has a corrupted memory or two, lost her Original name, her childhood and TED! And important info about her mother too, all due to the lack of communication between the SQ and her regarding the stakes.
And my god, Dorian and Dariax! I don't even know who to start with because they both took damage in a different yet equal level here?
I mean, I guess I will start with Dorian cuz... well, he lost his fucking brother and the way he couldn't even approach him one last time due to Opal's suggestion to find Orym? Not even allowed to process what happened, grieve and one of the last fucking things he did was not to talk to Cyrus but hit him in an attempt to save him and hear his screams and howls of pain? Wondering how much you ever knew your brother and now the responsibility that was upon his shoulders fall onto you? The Spider Queen taunting at your helplessness and just the cold ass way of just turning her own against her in some sort of a revenge? (a badass move by the way, "Kill your Mother") Going on a revenge spree. being lost and without purpose only to reunite with Bells Hells, another group of fucked up people after you leave Dariax. WHO SPECIFICALLY WAS FOLLOWING YOU??? BECAUSE HE WAS ALSO LOST ON HIS OWN??
And Dariax man. He was just asked by Opal to find Orym and so he goes, not understanding why they weren't going with him, not really understanding what happened to Cyrus initially and later on it just... hits him when the compulsion wears off and the betrayal he doesn't focus on because he follows Dorian and is worried about Dorian only for Dorian to leave him with his fucking lute in a, technically, unknown area? Now that's like two betrayals to process unless Dorian makes a fucking attempt to meet back up with Dariax again real soon cuz I swear to god you are just putting the sweetest person who just wants to support everyone down the deep end real quick cuz his sole purpose was to support Opal and she doesn't want him and now he follows Dorian and he also leaves him and I DON'T WANT THIS MUCH EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE ON DARIAX! I LOVED THE HIMBO THAT HE IS! OBSERVER LEAD HIM BACK TO DORIAN AND MAKE HIM WHACK HIM OVER HIS HEAD WITH THE LUTE! KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO THE GENASI FOR ME! I want Dariax to meet Orym and the Hells and the meeting should be in the most unbelievable way and- (starts an idea for a fic)
(I mean, narratively I get it, Matt can't DM and play a PC character but really, leaving him cold shouldered like that? Come on man! I understand the motivation characterwise too but really??)
And don't get me started with the reunion. I am glad Dorian asked Keyleth for some support, man I really do. But the way the reunion was going on, I think they are really skipping over some of the serious stuff in an attempt to catch up (which, realistically is going to be a mess because it is a lot to catch up tbh) but the way some of the stuff which could've been talked a little bit more about but bottled up is like... a lot. And I want those conversations so bad. I want Dorian to sit down and tell Orym and Fearne about what exactly went down. I want the Hells to properly talk about Thull. I want them to lay everything out in the open. The Deals. The risks.
I said it once and I say it again. I want the fucking Bells Hells to play a game of What the Fuck is Up with That under a Zone of Truth and talk about every single fucking thing for a really long time and I need proper conversations. I really do. And I want them to stop avoiding stuff.
And my man Dorian. Get Dariax back. You can't give me a joking "bonus action, Double Ds kiss" and immediately abandon him in Zephrah. You cannot do it to my poor heart. Not after all the elder sibling feels I am going through. I am sorry but you cannot.
I am going to miss the Crown Keepers a lot man. I am going to miss them a lot. They were my intro to CR and it is so fucking emotional to see them disband like this in a heartbreaking manner.
Thank you @quidde for this lovely story you gave us with all the silliness and all the heartbreak 🥺🥺🥺
I think I am going to catch some sleep rn even tho it is the afternoon. After a conversation with my teacher which I totally forgot about shit.

The Dragon Dance
Summary: What if Rhaenyra had another child? What if Rhaenyra had a daughter with white hair and purple eyes? What if she was betrothed to Aemond as an alliance with Greens?
You are the daughter of Rhaenyra Targaryen, unlike your brothers you have white hair and purple eyes. You are the twin sister of Jacaerys. You were close with Aemond when you were kids, you two attached to the hip. Ten years later after your family left to Dragonstone, your family reunites with the Greens. You see a familiar face, Aemond Targaryen. Even though it's been years since you last saw him, let's just say you are not the same little girl you were once before.
Warnings: The reader and Jacaerys are aged up, they would be eighteen. Uncle/niece insect. 18+ smut(eventually). Language. Mentions of assault(mainly from Aegon). Violence. And possible other warnings that I can’t think of. There is a happy ending.
Part 09
Masterlist
______________________________________
The Dragon Dance Part 10:
You and Aemond start to walk around the gardens, linking arms together. When you used to live in King’s Landing, the gardens were always your favorite place. It was beautiful and peaceful, you always loved being surrounded by nature. It brought peace of mind, and helped clear your mind(besides sword fighting).
“I’m sorry my beloved. After all the events that have happened, we haven’t got some time alone.” Aemond apologized in Old Valyrian.
“You don’t need to apologize my love. It was hard for the both of us to be alone together.” You reassured him.
“Is there any way I can make it up to you?” He asked, turning to you.
You giggled a little, giving him a smile. “Being here with me is enough for me, my Prince.”
Aemond gave his signature smirk. He can’t help but to feel proud when you call him “my prince”. Something about it just gives him some type of pride in his heart. “I love it when you call me that. My Prince, it feels like you are mine.”
You stopped and looked at Aemond confused. “I am yours, Aemond. I’ve always been yours.”
Aemond put both of his hands on both of your cheeks, pulling closer to you. “I will give you the prettiest jewels and jewelry in all of the Seven Kingdoms, for you to be by my side.”
You smile at him, holding yours hands with his. “I don’t need all of that. All I need is you.”
“How did I get so lucky to have you as my betrothed?” Aemond asked, kissing your forehead. Dropping his hands, and intertwining your fingers with his.
“I should be asking that. Considering I’m a-.” You didn’t finish your sentence, looking down at the ground. You know what you are, yes the gods may have blessed you with white hair and purple eyes. It was also cursed as well, you hear all the rumors and gossip. Over the years you learned to let it go. Now that you are betrothed to Aemond, you are afraid of what people would say about him once you two are married.
“Do not think of yourself so little my Spitfire. You are a Targaryn and the keeper to my heart.” Aemond trying to reassure you, letting go of your hands and putting his arms around your waist.
“Who knew Aemond Targaryn would be a romantic.” You teased, having your hands on his chest.
“Only for you my love. I’m serious though, what brought this up?” He asked.
You paused for a moment, biting your lower lip and debating if you should tell Aemond your inner thoughts. You didn’t want to burden him with your insecurities, but you also can’t lie to him as well.
“Please tell me Fireflower. I want to ease your thoughts.” Aemond switched back to Old Valyrian.
“I’m scared, Aemond.” You answered honestly.
Aemond quirked his eyebrow. “Scared of what my love?”
“I’m scared of what others would say about you once you marry me.” You admitted to him.
“Y/N.”
“I’m not calling off the betrothed. I want to marry you. I’m just scared that once you are married to me, you’ll be married to a bastard.” You continued.
Aemond pulls you into a tight hug, holding you close to him. He put one hand around your waist and the other on your head. “I don’t give a damn about what others would say about me.”
“But Aemond-”
“No buts my love. I want you, no one else. I already told you that I have loved you before I knew what love was.” Aemond pulled away a little so he could face you, holding your chin with his fingers. “I don’t think you are a bastard, I think you are Targaryen.”
You quirk your eyebrow a bit, “You think my brothers are bastards.”
Aemond gives a look, he's not going to hear the end of this from you. “I let a grudge darken my heart, my love. I’m going to keep hearing this aren’t I?”
You giggled and nodded your head yes. “Yes.”
Aemond sighs dramatically. “I’m trying to comfort you woman, not have you tease me endlessly.”
You laughed a little more, showing more of your smile. “It’s working my Prince, I promise.”
Aemond smiled a bit. At least he was able to make you smile. Ever since he was a young boy, he always found a way to make you smile. He was addicted to it, he couldn’t help it. He would pick your favorite flowers from the gardens, get your favorite snack, read to you, teach you the Valyrian language, and so on so further; just so he can see you smile. It was one of the many things why Aemond fell for you. To him, your smile can light up the darkest room.
“There’s that smile I love so much.” Aemond complimented. You give him a look and playfully smack his chest, but still laughing.
“I really want to kiss you my beloved.” He added, still holding your chin.
“What’s stopping you?" You asked.
He leaned closer to you, putting his lips against yours. The kiss felt soft and sweet, and Aemond wanted more. He licked the bottom of your lips, asking for an entrance and you gladly gave it to him. Both of your tongues danced with each other, it wasn’t rough or sloppy. It was light and fluttery. Aemond always wanted to know how you taste, you taste so sweet to him; he can’t get enough of it.  You couldn’t get enough of Aemond either. You wanted all of him, and you know he wants you. With one of his arms around your waist, he pulls you closer without breaking the kiss, while the other hand lightly grabs the back of your head. While you had both of your arms around his neck, wanting him closer to you.
The both of you pulled apart for air, Aemond puts his forehead against yours. “God, I wanted to do that for so long.”
You giggle a bit. “Well nothing is stopping you now. You have me Aemond, I’m all yours. You can kiss me all you want.”
“I’m about to do it again.” Aemond smirked, leaning closer to kiss you again.
“Prince Aemond! Are you here?!? Your mother and the queen said you would be here in the gar-. Did I interrupt something?” You and Aemond hear Ser Criston.
Both of you pull away from each other, and Aemond grunts in annoyance. “What do you want, Ser Cristion?” Aemond asked, annoyed with the knight.
“You were late for training, and I thought I should come get you. Now I realized that was a mistake.” Ser Criston.
Aemond sighed in annoyance. “I’ll be right there. Give us some privacy will you?”
“Of course Prince Aemond.” Ser Criston bowed and started to leave the gardens.
The two of you were alone again. “Well my love, it seems I have to go. I’m sorry that this was cut short.” Aemond apologized, pulling away from you even though he doesn’t want to.
You give him a reassuring smile. “That’s alright my Prince. I’m just glad we were able to spend some time together.”
Aemond smiled back, not wanting to leave you. “I shall take my leave my dear. I’ll see you tonight at dinner.” Aemond said his goodbye with a quick peck on the lips, and started to make his way out from the gardens. You watched him walk away, and smiled. You made your way out of the gardens to meet up with Helaena, Baela and Rhaena. It’s been a while since it’s been just you three girls, and you needed some girl time. You make your way to Helaena’s chambers with a smile on your face.

Ayda: you're Cheese of Cannoncourt, correct?
Cheese: yeah, yeah, er wow, uh yea, I'm Cheese. I'm Cheese.
Ayda: my apologies for my lateness. In addition to being the mistress of the Compass Points Library, I also am in a committed relationship with a rockstar who lives in Solace. So I have to split time between those two locations.
Cheese: yeah, oh yea, I know. I keep up with all the papers, and all those -- that's amazing, yeah
Ayda: I am Ayda Aguefort, mistress of the Compass Points. It's been brought to my attention that you are a young wizard, is this correct?
Cheese: uh, yes
Ayda: may I observe your trapper keeper?
Cheese: uh, ooh, yeah. [As Carlos]: he pulls out the trapper keeper and hands it to her. Starts kind of making excuses for it. [As Cheese]: oh, a lot of these, a lot, a lot of the pages are torn. It's a lot, a lot of stuff that I'm scribbling in the notes I had to like, I don't know the real languages or exactly how this stuff works exactly. A lot of that I put, I put together. it's not, it's not --
Ayda: your voice keeps stuttering over and over again, are you nervous right now?
Cheese: -- -- -- I'm always, I'm always nervous, yes
Ayda: why?
Cheese: um. -- --. [Sighs heavily]. I don't know.
Ayda: I'm going to be frank with you. I command the ind and stars. I am a powerful wizard. Last year I stormed the nine Hells to save my paramour. And I also get nervous a lot. It's okay to be nervous, but I hope you are not nervous around me. I heard of your story and that you are off on an adventure to save your brother. This is a noble calling. I hope you do well. Am I conveying to you affection correctly? You're getting that I'm being affectionate, yes?
Cheese: -- -- I don't have a lot of experience, but I guess so, yes. I mean, on paper it sounds 100%.
Ayda: you don't have a lot of experience with affection? I understand that. Leviathan can be an unkind place to grow up. Do you have any family left here in the city?
Cheese: -- -- y- no, not in the city.
Ayda: [narrowing her eyes] very well. [As Brennan]: she casts a spell. Some act of divination, and she says: [as Ayda]: I've asked the winds and the mist of all the 17 seas to come together and agree with you that you have no family here in the city. Any who live in this city that operate under the mistaken assumption that they are your family will find locating you, troubling you, or harassing you, or ever being unkind to you again to be an impossibility. For you and your brother.
Cheese: Thank you
Ayda: here is a very large book of spells. It's a present. I hope you enjoy it. Don't tell me if you don't, it will hurt my feelings.
Cheese: oh! Thank you!! This is, oh, it even has that new spell smell. Thank you! So much!
Ayda: your adventure awaits. The Crows Keep will be open to you whenever you are ready. I'm out of things to say. Do you have any things to say, or are we done talking?
Cheese: -- -- we're done talking. We're done talking, yes.
Ayda: okay. I consider you a friend. I hope you do the same to me. You can think about it, you don't have to answer now. Goodbye, Cheese.

I immediately thought of a part 2.
Liu Kang: Kuai Liang! It is good to see you reconcile with your brother. His return to the light has brought me much joy.
Kuai Liang: *eyes darting between Kiu Kang and just behind the Keeper of Time where Bi-Han, Sareena and Tomas were standing, frozen in panic. Their clean up of Johnny still only halfway done* You honor me, Lord Liu Kang.
Liu Kang: I come seeking Johnny Cage. He had business with your reunited clan.
Kuai Liang: *screaming internally* Johnny? Yes, he…um, uh, he…left quite the mess-*makes eye contact with Tomas who is furiously mopping up the biggest blood stain* HE! He is quite the mess to deal with…? *cringes as Bi-Han shoots him the most “Shut the fuck up” glare ever*
Liu Kang: *chuckling slightly* He has much to learn. But all of us must continue to learn, myself included.
A portal opens behind Liu Kang, in the middle of clean up operation. Geras steps out. He looks around in confusion and then surprise before being jumped by Sareena, Bi-Han and Tomas.
Kuai-Liang: *eyes firmly on Liu Kang but watching the epic showdown in his periphery vision* Wise words.
Geras manages to throw off both Bi-Han and Tomas but a portal to the Netherrealm opens on the floor behind his heels. The time guardian barely registers the opening before Sareena elbow drops him in the face and the both plummet into the dark world below.
Bi-Han and Tomas stare at the floor where the portal once lay. Bi-Han grabs Tomas by the collar and starts dragging him off. He turns to Kuai Liang and gestures furiously. Kuai Liang understands this to mean he needs to get rid of Liu Kang.
Kuai-Liang: We should go for a walk.
Liu Kang: I would love to clear my head-
Kuai Liang: We go now. *grabs Liu Kang by shoulder and teleports*
Getting a little long, so I’ll do a part 3.
Part 1 below.

pairing: aemond targaryen x niece!reader summary: three weeks after your wedding to aemond, you were starting to feel the weight of the situation. warnings: slighty yan!aemond, one mention of the r word, canon typical violence? playlist: i made an aemond playlist on spotify!! if you wanna check it out <;3 a/n: okay so lowkey this is a part 2 to about you but you don't have to read that one to understand it. um also i am in a different country to my mother right now as well and i miss her very much so that's why that theme is so strong in this fic aha i'm gonna cry in the bathroom peace out homies!
“Shh, sweetheart. It’s okay, it’s okay.” Aemond soothed you, rubbing your back as you cried into his chest. You had been in Kings Landing now as his lady wife for three weeks, your mother was of course back on Dragonstone and you missed her very much, so much that the pain felt like claws that grasped your heart.
Aemond would not allow to you return home to see your mother, despite your pleas. I can’t let you leave. We’re at war, my love. You wanted to scream and scream, you didn’t care, you didn’t care. All you wanted was your mother. Of course, Aemond had seen that your dragon was caged in the dragon pit, the keepers under strict guidelines to not let you see your beloved dragon. The strict guidelines in question being, a blade to their throat at the hand of your husband.
You didn’t cry every night over missing your mother, though the pain did not subside. Somedays it felt like a numbness, others it felt like the tears would never stop. She was only an ocean way but it felt like planets.
“My love, look at me.” Aemond lifted your head up from his chest. “I know you miss her, I know.”
“I’m sorry, my husband.” You mumbled through the tears. He pulled your hair from your face to behind your ears.
“I wish things could be different, if your mother had only bent the knee-“ Aemond cut himself off after seeing the intense glare in your eyes. You and he had had this fight many times, he knew it was not worth getting into again especially now.
You shoved down the urge to yell that your mother was the rightful heir to the iron throne to plead with Aemond, “Please, my love. If-If your brother ever captures Rhaenrya please, please counsel his mercy. Promise me.”
Aemond’s heart broke at the sight of your eyes, so desperate to save your traitor mother’s life. “If the situation arrives, I will counsel mercy.” He promised. He hadn’t made up his mind yet if it was a lie or not. Aemond hated his sister but his love for you was proving to grow stronger by the day. He was not sure if he could ever handle the hatred you would have for him if he didn’t do everything he could to stop the execution of your beloved mother.
You rewarded him by snuggling back in his chest, kissing up his neck. Aemond’s breath shallowed. His desire for you was never a hundred percent gone, it was a small fire that only needed a small flint to became a raging storm again.
“Beautiful wife, if you do not wish to be with me tonight in that way, I would advise you stop.” He managed to get out, right before an innovatory groan found his way out of his throat when you walked your hand down his bare torso.
“I wish to be with you in every way tonight, husband.” You whispered in his ear. If Aemond wasn’t gone before, he was now.
—
You knew Aemond to never be so at peace then after sex, your hand down in his hair, placing soft kisses on his chest. “I love you, my prince.”
Aemond sighed, “Do you mean it, my beautiful? In truth..?”
You looked him in his eye, “You were so kind to me on our wedding night, and you take care of me, you are such a loving husband to me. How could I not love you?”
“I have loved you for so many years, I would do anything for you.”
“Anything?”
“Sweetheart, please. Anything but that.”
“You didn’t know what I was going to say.”
“What were you going to say then?”
“I want to see Maris, please. It’s not fair to keep a woman from her dragon.” You twirled his hair in your fingers.
Aemond relished in the feeling of your hands in his hair, “We can go flying together.”
You wanted him to let you see Maris on your own so you could fly away to your mother on Dragonstone but alas, you knew better - your husband was no fool. “Thank you, my love. That would be amazing.”
Aemond smiled, holding your hand in his, bringing it to his lips to kiss. “We can go in the morrow, my beautiful. I’ll look forward to riding side by side with you.” You did not miss the clear warning in his tone.
“May I ask you a question, lord husband?” You didn’t look him in the eye, moving your head back to his chest.
He resumed rubbing your back soothing, “Anything, my lady wife.”
“You are so adamant on me staying in Kings Landing… Is it because your new king brother sees me as a political hostage against Rhaenrya or… because you do not wish for me to leave you?” It was a loaded question but it had been plaguing your mind ever since the wedding.
Aemond took a few moments before answering you, trying to gather his thoughts. “Aegon has made it clear to me that having you in the Red Keep is an advantage for us but I swear to you, my love, I will not let him harm you. I would kill him myself if he ever laid a hand on you.” He lifted your head up, so you could see the look in his eye when he spoke these words to you. “I hope this erases any doubts you might have, my beautiful?”
You didn’t say anything, so he went on - “I know that I do not deserve a beautiful women like yourself but I am too selfish to care.” He leaned into your ear to whisper, “Even if your mother wasn’t a traitor to the realm and we weren’t at war, I would never let you leave Kings Landing without me.”
He leaned back so he was facing you, “Are we clear about this now?”
“Yes, my love.” You said to him, running your thumb down his scar. Aemond would always take off his eye patch with you now.
“I want to see all your, husband. Please.” You said under him, the first night of your marriage to him.
“Princess please, it will only frighten you and sully the mood.”
“Aemond, I believe you to be the most handsome man in all of Westros. I will always believe this to be true, with or without the cover.”
He nodded but still flinched slightly when you removed it. He looked away from you, couldn’t fathom the look on your face when you see the monster he truly is.
“You are so beautiful, my husband.”
When he finally looked into your eyes, he found only love and adoration. Something he had been looking for all of his life but not sure he would ever find. But now you were here, in front of him real as his heartbeat. Now that he knew what that feeling felt like, Aemond was sure he wouldn’t stand a day without it. He knew he was never going to let you go.
“Go to sleep, beautiful. You need your rest.” Aemond told you, kissing your forehead.
“Will you hold me still?”
“Always, my wife.”
—
Prone to it herself, the dowager Queen Alicent noticed her daughter in law picking at her nails, her eyes cast down to the floor. It was a family dinner, to commentate another Green Victory which of course meant, a loss for the blacks. She sympathised with her of course but Alicent wished she would do a better job at acting like she was happy at her husband’s victory.
Aegon was being obnoxious, drinking and shouting about how he was going to feed his whore half sister to his dragon. You stood up at that, the screech of your chair sliding across the floor making everyone turn to you.
“If its is alright with his grace, I would like to retire for the evening. I’m feeling quite tired.” You said, trying to keep your voice neutral as possible.
“Yes of course, dear. Get some rest.” Alicent quickly said, before her son could answer.
“It is not alright with his grace. This is a celebratory dinner, so stay and celebrate.” Aegon pressed, glaring you down as you were stopped in your tracks.
Aemond sensing the rising tension, quickly stood up and was at his wife’s side. “Brother, let it go. My wife and I-“
“Your wife has traitor blood, your wife is a fucking bastard.”
“Watch your tongue!” Aemond shouted.
“Please, I just want to head to bed.” You spoke softly, reaching for Aemond’s hand. He quickly held it in his and squeezed it.
“Look me in the eye and tell me that your mother is a traitor to the crown and that I am the rightful king and then fine, you and your husband can leave the celebration.” Aegon smirked.
You felt a tear wet your cheek. You wanted nothing more than then ground to swallow you hole, everyone was looking at you, expecting you to do what the king said.
“Mother, I do not want to leave you.” You were seeing her off at the Dragonpit. Rhaenrya was to leave straight after your wedding, despite her father’s pleas to stay.
“My beautiful daughter, we will be together soon but as a new wife, your duty is to stay with your husband.” She told you. You hugged her tightly, not wanting to let go. Eventually you broke away, she cupped your face in her hand one more time before climbing on her dragon. “I love you, [name.]”
You felt your heart beating in your chest as everyone awaited you say your mother was a traitor. Your breath was shallow and you palms were sweating up, you couldn’t find enough breath to fill your lungs.
You couldn’t speak, so you ran. You ran out of the hall, “Seize her!” Aegon yelled to the guards posted at the doors.
Before those guards could lay a finger on you, Aemond had cut their throats. Everyone gasped. You thought your husband would let you go but he instead took hold of you in his own arms. “Tell the king what he wants to hear or you won’t see out of our chambers for weeks.” He told you in your ear. His grip was going to leave bruises and in the knife in his hand was only a press away from drawing blood.
You whipped your head to look him in the eye, to make sure he was serious. Aemond didn’t want to hurt you but if he let you disobey the king’s order in front of his entire family, what does that say about him as a husband?
Aemond raised his eyebrow in question, daring you to defy him but you couldn’t. You faced the room, swallowed every once of pride you had, “Rhaenrya is a traitor to the crown and his grace, Aegon is the rightful heir.” The words felt like a acid flowing out of your mouth, the satisfied look on Aegon’s face made you want to throw up your dinner.
“Very well, you may leave.” Aegon dismissed you.
You shook your hand out of Aemond’s grip, walking out of the hall as if it was burning. Oh how you would love to let Maris burn Aegon straight to hell. You had never hated yourself more than you had in this moment, how could you call yourself a Varleryon, how could you say you had the blood of the dragon when you could not even stick up for your own family?
Aemond was quickly on your tail, “[Name] Slow down.” You didn’t slow down, “My love, please wait.” You did not wait, “Stop, I”m serious.” You did not stop. You diid not stop until you reached the door to the courtyard that would lead you to the Dragonpit.
The door was jammed, the seconds it took you to get it open gave Aemond all the time he needed to reach you. “[Name] I know what you’re doing, you can’t go there.”
“Husband, I just want to see Maris. I miss him.” You pleaded, “I would appreciate the company of my beloved dragon after the humiliation I just suffered.”
“That humiliation wouldn’t have occurred if you could just keep your feelings to yourself, wife.” Aemond spat.
You felt the rage bubble up inside you, “I would love to see you sit there and stay still whilst my step-father talks of having his men rape and murder your mother.”
Aemond’s jaw clenched and he took few deep breaths.  He managed his temper and instead took your hands in his, “My brother was out of line, sure but it is up to us to not add to his fire but to smother it.”
You did not care for talks of Aegon, “Are you going to let me see Maris?”
“We’ll go for a ride together. It is a beautiful night for it.” You nodded, time alone with Maris is what you craved but you would settle for anything.
The walk down to the Dragonpit was filled with an uneasy silence, you felt the nerves building up in your stomach until you finally said something. “Aemond, I’m sorry.” You didn’t really think you had anything to apologise for but anything was better than silence.
Apparently your faux apology worked on Aemond, “Oh my love. I know. I know that this is so difficult for you. I am sorry too, everything I do, everything I did is to protect you. You would rather my hands on your throat than some guards, yes?”
Ideally, your throat would be left alone but you knew what to say to make him happy, “Thank you for always protecting me, my love. It is… comforting to know you always have my best interest at heart.”
He entangled your hands in his, “You are the most important thing to me. I won’t let anyone take you from me.” Even you. He pulled you in for a kiss outside the dragon pit.
When you saw Maris in her cage you ran to her, “Oh my sweet thing.” You ran your hand down her back, he visibly relaxed at your touch. “Let’s get you out of these chains, hmm my Maris?”
Vhagar was obviously too big for the dragon pit, so Aemond only watched you climb onto Maris back. “I will go mount Vhagar on the beach, meet me there.” He said to you, you gave him a thumbs up as Maris readied himself to take flight.
Of course the thoughts crossed your mind, you had maybe five minutes unsupervised from your husband. If you took flight over Flea Bottom, you would get a somewhat of a head start before Aemond realised you had taken off.
“I love you, my sweet daughter. I will miss you in the halls of Dragonstone more than anything.”
“And when I take Dragonstone from my whore sister, I will feed her to my dragon and make her idiot sons watch.”
“You though you could leave? I was kind to you, I showed you my love and let you ride your dragon and what do you do? Try and leave me? How did you think you could get away with this?”
Your fear of what would you knew Aemond would say when he found out you tried to escape Kings Landing is what kept you from doing it. Coward, I’m a fucking coward.
You met Aemond in the sky, his eye patch was off and he looked so stunning in the moonlight. You could see in his face he thought the same of you as well.
Toon soon, you were reading Maris to slow down and return to Kings Landing. You landed where Aemond was already waiting for you on the beach. He ran over too you and Maris, helping you down. You wanted to resist the help, you knew how to get off your dragon but you bit your tongue. He was only trying to be a good husband and to be a good wife, you had to let him.
You were breathless when you landed off Maris and he instantly took flight again. You watched as he flew away, disappearing into the night sky. “He doesn’t want to go back to the dragon pit.” You realised.
Aemond’s hand found the small of your back and pulled you closer into him. “Maris loves you sweetheart. He’s just leaving the city, not you.”
At least one of us will get to go home. You thought. Yes, you felt sadness that Maris was gone but it brought you comfort knowing that he won’t be trapped in those chains.
“Are you ready to go back darling?” Aemond asked you.
“Yeah, let’s go back to our to our chambers.” You walked back to the Red Keep hand in the hand with your husband.

The Switch
Miles Fairchild x fem!reader
Chapter one: Listening In
I jolted awake out of my bed after a nightmare. Ever since I got to the Fairchild estate I've been having small nightmares that grow each night. But tonight I reached the end of this reoccurring nightmare. I can't really explain what it means. I see myself running through the dark wood with something chasing me. I don't know what it is. I can't see it, but I can feel it. Breathing on my neck and whispering incoherent things. Every night for a month it has been me running in the woods to the estate, but every night I would wake before I reached it.
I decided to get ready for a day of work. The sun was blocked by clouds and something felt really off. The house had always had something creepy about it but today I had a feeling of being watched. I decided I would try and ignore it because it makes me sick to my stomach.
I dressed myself in a dark green sweater, a pair of jeans, and a pair of black sneakers. I left my hair down today because it was sort of chilly in the house. I wash my face and brush my teeth and while doing that I noticed the mirror was very foggy. I tried to wipe it with my sleeve but the condensation did not go away. Again I tried to ignore it because I did not want to get scared over nothing.
If I did not mention it before, I am a teacher to a 7 year old girl named Flora. I'm not sure why I took the job to teach her. I'm only 15, but was recommended by my teacher. I have to work twice as hard but don't have to physically be in school, which seems like a win-win to me. Flora is a very sweet and smart girl. She always uses her manners and doesn't question things. Ms. Grose, the house keeper on the other hand is snarky. She often makes comments about my teaching and appearance. Today she didn't make a comment to me while teaching, or in general. I hadn't finished my work and chores until 9pm and was dreading sleeping because I knew I would have the same nightmare, as I had every night.
At 10pm I got in bed and started reading a book. After a while I got distracted because there were heavy footsteps dragging around my floor. Assuming it was Ms. Grose, I tried my best to not go out and say anything for she is only an old lady. But after a half hour or so I started to get frustrated. "Stupid old hag and stupid old creepy house. Stupid nightmares, stupid woods. Stupid teachers for sending me to this shit hole. The only person I have is Flora, at least she's kind to me unlike that old lady." I whispered frustrated, now pacing around my room to tire me out. I look at the floor and see there is a shadow coming outside my door. Figuring it was Ms. Grose hoping to express her opinion about today I walked over to the door and opened it.
But it was definitely NOT Ms. Grose. Instead it was a boy, my age I assume with short black curly hair, pale skin, kind of lanky, and had a face that could kill you with eye contact.
"You know, this place isn't that bad, it just takes a little time to get used to it." He speaks. "W-who are you?" I jumped. "I'm Miles, I live here." He exclaims. "I'm sorry I don't know who you are." I say blandly. "I'm Flora's older brother, funny that you haven't heard of me." He says rather surprised. Then it hits me. Flora does sometimes talk about a boy that is off traveling around and comes home every three months for a little while. "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm y/n, Flora's teacher." I say, reaching out my hand to shake his. He scoffs, "Aren't you a little young to be a teacher? You look my age." He spats. I try to think of something to say that won't come out as offensive but I can't. "You should get to bed, it's late and you have work tomorrow morning. Night." He says and walks away from my door. I quietly shut my door and got back into bed. "Who the hell does this guy think he is. I hope he leaves again soon." I say to myself as I finally fall asleep.

Harry must be Dorothy, because AFRICA is his TOTO
So, it's running on Radar Online and OK Mag now that separation is happening. How true is it?
I have no idea. Neither can my source give me anything other than the following:
Charles is still funding Harry at the expense of saving face. He wants H away from Meghan, and there is talks in upper ladder rungs that there is a potential deal where MM stays in Hollywood.
They do not want H back, at all. Charles wants to control H's trapper keeper, and he wants that ginger mutt muzzled, so chances are the ideal sweetheart deal will be what we've seen being floated.
Meghan gets a sum, but not so substantial as many think. That comes with the proper agreements so that she behaves. My source told me a Fergie deal would likely never happen...
Charles cares about number uno, and my source is right in the point MM would never agree to behind-palace doors again. She wants to be seen.
If the rumors are true from what I am hearing and what I am seeing, coupled with what I was told...
Harry will go to Africa to live out his Commonwealth days as quietly as possible. Meghan will remain in the US to pursue being a star under terms and conditions.
Oh, and those rumors of Haz calling Wills... don't buy it. Haz may be speaking with the people that answer the calls, but he's not getting through to his brother.
The DM reported that Wills will be charging Charles rent whenever he comes to visit one of the Duchy of Cornwall cottages he bought that stayed with the Duchy... Charles isn't too happy. If Wills can charge the king rent, you bet he can ignore his petulent brother.
Also, rumors are that the super-injunction on the children is as permanent as permanent could be. No budging on that. No leaks from that end. Nobody wants that out, and I will save what "it" is out for sake of getting too personal.
Let's just say all of this is adding up to a stressful start to a hard reign, and Charles cares more about his reign than his red-head. He will support them because he cannot have the monarch's second son being labeled a grifter dying for freebies. How does that make them all look?
Harry won't be missing any rains in Africa. Meghan won't be going to film with him, either. Netflix didn't axe them like Spotify, as Harry has a documentary to do for them in Africa.
If there is a deal on the table, and this is ever going to happen, it is only because Charles is doing it to nip everything in the bud to save his own precious reputation.
And rumors are, Charles will do that at any expense. Even if letters patents are involved for certain situations that may or may not be related to anything to do, OR NOT do, with H&M.
Africa bound... Harry Alone in the Bush. Meghan may even get to be the next Bachelorette!
How exciting.
Again... ALL OF THIS IS SPECULATION AND HERESAY, as I am a gossip, and I don't know what I am talking about. Take it with a grain of royal salt. I am but a lowly rodent who has a knack for smelling out the cheese... and the rats.
P.S. I love every single one of you, and I appreciate your time!
P.P.S. I also appreciate my source, and I am committed to full anonymity. I've been specifically vague, hoping you could draw the lines, in order to protect their identity.
