my jean & neil qpr agenda (part 1?)

after Neil orders the hit and Greyson becomes another Former Raven statistic for the media to go wild with, Jean ends up texting Neil. It's definitely not a thank you, but both of them know it kinda is (prob something like "you're an insufferable disease" lol)

They don't have contact for a while, but one day Neil reaches out by sending Jean the most atrocious multilingual French meme with "Kevin doesn't appreciate me or my humor, this is a hate crime"

It's sporadic from there, and maybe at one point they meet up while Neil and Andrew are on their summer road trip. Neil and Andrew end up in Colorado, and Jeremy, Cat, and Laila practically drag Jean there to see them (he'll deny that he had a good time, but he really did)

Andrew and Jean have a bizarre and interesting dynamic where they don't speak to each other often, but they eventually grow a mutual respect and shoot each other Looks about their "I'm Fine" partners. They don't mind just sitting in the same room and sharing space while they do their separate things.

When Jean and Jeremy start their pottery class, Jean takes to it like a fish to water.

He ends up majoring in Ceramics & Multimedia Art. Something about using his hands to create, rather than destroy.

He makes Neil a little exy racket charm for his keychain.

At one point, Jeremy makes a gc with Jean, Neil, Kevin, and Andrew on impulse. Jean "hates" it but doesn't leave the group chat. Andrew only stays in it because he can mute it, and it's useful for when they plan to meet up sometimes. It also makes Neil happy and it's not something he really minds

Jean also takes LOTS of pictures. With his phone, his friends' phones, a polaroid camera he gets as a gift from Cat, anything he can get his hands on. He hangs them up on his half of the room with Jeremy.

Eventually Jeremy and Jean do get separate rooms. They usually still sleep in the same room, but it's an important milestone for Jean and his recovery. Being able to have his own space, and know he's allowed to control who comes in it.

He decorates that room so much it's chaotic and beautiful and there's probably little pencil doodles on the wall next to his bed from when he can't sleep. He tends to draw daffodils :]

It becomes a bit of a tradition to meet Neil and Andrew every summer.

When they go pro, Jean and Neil end up on teams only a few hours' drive from each other. Neil and Andrew start on the same team, but the whole Minyard-Josten Rivalry is still a Thing because they're always shooting heated Russian at each other while "glaring" and no one else seems to realize it's their equivalent of flirting.

Jean thinks it's hilarious. He harasses Neil about it constantly.

Him and Kevin eventually mend their friendship, and they care about each other a lot.

Neil probably made the three of them matching "I survived Castle Evermore" shirts just to be a menace, and then Jean and Kevin have to make him swear that he'll never wear it in public.

Neil has a habit of just. Showing up at Jean's house and crashing sometimes.

Jeremy at one point jokes that he'll have to fight Neil for Jean's time in the future, but he's not really worried. They're happier when they spend time together. Jeremy and Andrew are chill with it.

When they meet up for the first time after a game between their pro teams, none of their teammates have any clue what's going on. Jean and Neil insult each other ferociously, but also can't seem to resist hip-checks and shoulder bumps and almost affectionate shoves.

Neil constantly sidles up to Jean and pretends like he doesn't know what he's doing. Jean usually responds by absently grabbing his hand so he knows where he is.

They are literally a cat and dog. Neil will deny that he's being caring or affectionate towards Jean all day long while actively attempting to be in Jean's space, and Jean practically perks up when Neil enters a room.

When their teams play against each other, they talk in French sometimes. Their checks are always a bit brutal (they know very well how far the other can be pushed before they break) but they help each other up at the end of quarters.

Jean is constantly antagonizing Neil by smiling and complimenting his striker skills while blocking him, and Neil is constantly taunting him with words that are plenty sharp, but never actually aimed for vital spots

Jean gets a service dog and Jeremy decides to name her Mr. Barkbark Flufferpants, following Andrew & Neil's naming scheme for their cats. They usually just call her "Mr."

When they make Court, the two of them practically live in each other's pockets.

Jeremy and Andrew watch both exasperatedly and amusedly (though Andrew just calls it annoyance when asked) as the two of them dance around their Big Queer Platonic Feelings

When they finally manage to actually communicate about it, it goes something like "Idk what's happening, I'm kinda obsessed with you but it is Not Romantic and I don't know what to do with that." And then "Oh thank hell, me too, I thought I was even weirder than I already am. Wanna go harrass the fbi together?" "No."

They become even more attached at the hip after that, can practically finish each other's sentences. It's like they freaking mind melded tbh.

At first Kevin gets worried that they're slipping into old habits from the Nest, especially Jean, but when he brings it up to Andrew and Jeremy, Andrew just goes "No, they're idiots." and Jeremy nods and says "I think they're in a honeymoon phase. If we see them slipping, we'll pull them out."

Kevin decides to wait and watch, and thankfully their relationship ends up being as healthy as Neil and Jean can be. There might be a little codependence going on, but they have other people and other grounding forces to help intervene if it seems to be unbalancing.

They both put each other on their emergency contacts list.

It's a common sight to find the two of them twisted into impossible positions together just doing their own things, Jean drawing, Neil watching reruns of Exy matches, whatever.

Their dynamic just becomes Jean, who genuinely grows up to be a pretty chill dude, and Neil, who's an absolute gremlin. Except they kinda absorb each other's personalities, so they're both little shits together. They fit.

There is definitely all sorts of weird conversations that they have at 2AM in little sleepovers they do together (sometimes with Kevin, Jeremy, or Andrew) because they never got that as kids.

I bet Neil mercilessly teases Jean for being allosexual, especially when he gets flustered (all in good fun, of course)

Jean just snarks back with a "shut up, I literally saw you look at Andrew like a besotted elderly man with his partner of fifty years like five minutes ago." Neil sticks out his tongue at him.

Jean actually can sometimes read the ways that Neil and Andrew show affection for each other because of how much time he spends around them, which leads to him occasionally getting confused when other people don't automatically Get It

Neil takes a while to warm up to Jeremy because he seems Too Nice, but once he does he helps Jeremy plan to absolutely torment Jean with silly little romantic gestures that make him flush all the way down to his neck

At one point Neil tries to get Jean to explain what it feels like to be sexually attracted to someone without knowing them really closely, and it leads to a really surprisingly deep conversation about attraction before it turns into neil making dick jokes.

Cat and Laila still keep in close contact with Jean, as well as Renee. They make sure to meet up as often as they can. Cat and Jean always go for a bike ride together and they all cook dinner as a group.

They're both cuddle monsters when in the right mood. They also have the convenient ability to fall asleep Anywhere when they feel safe. So finding them curled up together in weird places at home is pretty commonplace.

They're forever partners, not in the way that the world and the Nest tried to make them be, but in a way that they created themselves.

It doesn't have to be romantic to be special, and if anyone ever suggested that they should be in a romantic relationship, they would both look at that person with absolute judgement and disgust. This person interrupted their conversation. They were talking shit about someone. Neil is lounging in Jean's lap. Andrew is saying he hates them both, and Jeremy is cackling at it all while taking a low-res picture for Cat and Laila.

Scar pov

Scar and Cub had just arrived at the lecture hall. They sat in the front since they already knew the professor. As Scar set down his things, a commotion at the entrance caught his attention. A group of young guys were messing about, laughter spilling through the doorway.

Cub let out an amused snort beside him.

Scar followed his gaze just in time to see a blond guy—grinning like he was up to no good—suddenly stop in front of a taller, dark-haired friend. He squinted up at him, then rocked onto his tiptoes as if trying to measure himself against him. The dark-haired one—who scar recognised from the other day —blinked in exasperation before loudly groaning, “TANGO, STOP IT!”

The blond, apparently Tango, dropped back onto his heels with a satisfied grin. As they entered Scar accidentally locked eyes with the dark haired man. He looked more put together than the other day. Scar grinned and waved at him. The other man froze for a second before awkwardly shuffling away with his friends. Scar looked after the guy confused, before he shook it of. Perhaps he didn't recognise him.

Mumbo pov

Mumbo sat down with his group of friends. Skizz ruffled his hair walking past him dragging him out of his spiraling thoughts about how he just embarrassed himself again in front of the handsome man.

"Dude you alright?" Skizz asked, plopping down in a seat.

"I think I just embarrassed myself in front of a cute guy again." Mumbo answered Tango groaned next to him Skizz couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

"Mate, how did you even do that? we've been with you the whole time?" Zed asked looking up from the row bellow him. Mumbo let out a whine sound, thinking of the previous moment.

"He waved at me, I froze and didn't wave back" Mumbo said shivering at the thought of the awkward moment

"Mumbo, you poor man. We love you but you really are a wet cat" Gem said with a laugh, surprising Mumbo as he didn't know she was even there.

"She has a point" Etho added on, and the other guys added various agreement sounds.

"But I'm sure the guy didn't even think about it. Like maybe he thinks you didn't see him" Impulse reassured Mumbo, and it did help.

"You right... I'm just being silly" Mumbo agreed, feeling the embarrassment lift lightly. The conversation quickly moved on Mumbo however couldn't stop from stealing glances down at the handsome man.

Scar was confused again. This guy, cute as he was, was staring him down. He felt his eyes almost burning a hole into the back of his head. Was he mad at him for crashing into him the other day? He wasn't sure, Scar took out his phone and messaged Cub

Lucy Summers had exactly one day off, and she’d chosen salsa dancing. God help her. The community center reeked of sweat and Febreze, but she was smiling halfway through a clumsy turn with her best friend Tessa when the girl’s body locked up.

Eyes rolled, joints stiffened; Tessa dropped like a marionette with cut strings.

—“Tess...?!”

Lucy was at her side before anyone else moved. She cradled Tessa’s head, gently rolled her to one side, and raised her voice; calm, firm, the way a nurse does when panic has no use.

—She’s having a seizure, someone call 911. Clear the space. I’ve got her airway.

It lasted twenty-five seconds, Lucy counted. By the time the paramedics arrived, Lucy had assessed vitals, checked her tongue, and kept her from aspirating. And when they offered to take over? She climbed into the ambulance behind them without a second thought.

The Pitt was closest and she wasn’t letting Tessa out of her sight. The ER was buzzing, but Lucy walked in like she belonged.

—Seizure with no prior history, post ictal confusion. I need a head CT and neuro workup now.

She pushed the stretcher herself. Frank Langdon stepped into her path like a brick wall.

—Excuse me. Who the hell are you, and why are you dragging a patient into my ER like you’re running the place?

Lucy didn’t blink.

—She’s my friend, I’m a nurse from Saint Matthew’s and I was with her when she collapsed.

Langdon’s lip curled.

—A nurse, right. So let me guess: you watched Grey’s Anatomy, rode an ambulance for five minutes, and now you think you’re a trauma lead?

Her jaw clenched.

—I'm a certified trauma nurse with seven years in high-acuity care. I stabilized her, kept her airway open, and brought her here because it was the closest facility.

Langdon scoffed.

—You’re a guest in my ER, sweetheart. And acting like a know-it-all tourist in scrubs is how people get hurt. You don’t make decisions here and you sure as hell don’t throw around orders like you’re one of us.

Lucy’s voice sharpened.

—I didn’t throw orders; I followed protocol while you were too busy chest-thumping to check her GCS.

Langdon stepped in close.

—And if she crashes? That’s on you. If you think hiding behind a badge from another hospital protects you from malpractice...

—Frank, what the hell are you doing?

Michael “Robby” Robinavitch’s voice sliced through the tension like a scalpel. He appeared behind them, blue scrubs, sleeves rolled and gaze locked on Langdon like he was assessing a tumor.

Langdon turned.

—She’s interfering; marches in here playing trauma queen like she owns the place.

Roby’s voice went glacial.

—She’s a trauma nurse who recognized a seizure, protected the airway, assessed vitals, and brought a post-ictal patient to safety. If you think that’s interfering, maybe you’ve forgotten what this job is.

Langdon muttered something under his breath and walked away. Robby turned to Lucy, voice instantly soft.

—You okay?

She nodded, a little shaken now that the adrenaline was cracking.

—I didn’t mean to overstep. I just did what she needed.

Robby touched her arm gently.

—You didn’t overstep, you stepped up. Come with me.

The breakroom was dim and quiet, lights low, fridge humming in the corner. Lucy sat, still in her sports bra and hoodie, heart finally starting to come down. Robby paced for a second and sat across from her, elbows on knees and concern in every line of his body.

—I should’ve shut him down earlier, maybe the second I heard your voice.

—You did right when it mattered.

She swallowed.

—I’m used to proving myself every room and in every shift. The scrubs don’t always fit, and the guys don’t always listen. And then I walk into his ER and suddenly I’m some reckless civilian?

Roby slid forward and took her hands.

—You were the calmest person in the room. You were right, you saved your friend and you shut Langdon down without raising your voice.

He leaned in, forehead brushing hers.

—That was the hottest fucking thing I’ve ever seen.

She gave a shaky laugh.

—Seriously?

—Lucy, you were fierce and brilliant. I nearly kissed you right there on the trauma floor.

Her breath caught.

—What stopped you?

Roby’s smile turned dangerous.

—Not a damn thing now.

They didn’t make it two steps out of the lounge. Roby pinned her against the wall, one hand on her hip and the other sliding under her jaw. His kiss was all teeth and need; hot, claiming and grateful.

She gasped when he deepened it.

—Someone could walk in.

—Then they’ll know exactly who you belong to.

His mouth moved down her throat, hands exploring every curve, reverent and starving.

—You don’t know what it does to me, seeing you take command like that. You are everything, Lucy. Everything.

She arched into him, hand tugging his hoodie open.

—Then prove it.

Roby groaned and kissed her harder, no hesitations now; hands on her thighs, tongue in her mouth. Every pressed-together inch a promise:

You are not too much.

You are not invisible.

You are mine, and I am so damn proud of you.

Her moan broke the quiet, his lips brushed her ear.

—You’re coming home with me after shift and I’m going to take my time showing you just how right you were.

She nodded, dazed.

—Yes, please.

He kissed her again, slower now. They didn’t notice the nurse who stepped in, then backed out with wide eyes. Robby didn’t care, not even a little.

ok ok ok this is insane but bear with me !! do you remember the landoscar x driver!reader drabble/ficlet I did for your birthday? of course you do but do you remember me yapping in the gc about that soulmate enemies to lovers with max???

well here's a concept for you: friends to lovers landoscar with enemies to lovers oscar x driver!reader and friends to lovers lando x driver! reader (that was a lot to type out holy shit) maybe with the soulmate element thrown in too because I can never do anything simple

i think the obvious thing is to do that in reverse but i really quite like it this way. ugh ok so lando who you've been friends with through karting. and then you get into F1 at around the same time as him. and you end up leaning on each other through your rookie years and become super close. would be fun if she had a short stint in mclaren with him too and people obvs loved their dynamic together🥺 and i think reader very much feels like its her and lando against the world people who say they're untalented if u know what i'm saying there.

and then 2023 hits and a certain someone joins mclaren. and idk maybe slightly AU driver!reader is in a midfield team that year (aston martin? ...unfortunately i think a landoscar specific driver!reader is forming here. why do i do this.) and maybe feels a little threatened by oscar. maybe she was trying to get that seat. and then lando and osc start to get closer and closer and reader feels like she's not landos like only Main Friend anymore. and okay maybe a bit of jealousy thrown in there too but she's not about to admit that.

and she develops a bit of a track rivalry with oscar. doesn't like to give anything up to him. would rather see them crash and burn before she lets him overtake. (carcar?😅) and maybe she's not so overt about it off track, but probably isn't super friendly to him maybe tries to exclude him😭 and oscar is oscar and just brushes it off. and thinks okay if she doesn't like me so what, it doesn't change anything. even though lando is probably whingey about it and tells osc and reader to be nicer to each other. i think that continues for the 2023 season.

maybe 2024 she gets a better seat. merc? ferrari even? which eliminates her jealousy around oscar having a better car than her (which idk was mclaren doing better than aston martin in 2023? lets say they were in this world😭). which makes it easier for her to be around him and not be pissed LMAO. which opens her up to his personality and general cuteness. and he starts to grow on her and she eventually starts inviting him/including him in readerlando shenanigans. which soon turn into readerlandoscar shenanigans🥺 love oscar needling his way in there with no effort of his own, literally just his charm and patience has her swooning eventually.

i imagine lando and reader are more extroverted personalities. they're club rats, they're chaotic, they're messy and oscar balances them both out. someone to come home to, someone to coax out of their shell🥺

and re: soulmate au which i didn't touch on. i love like. a soulmate au where ur soulmate isn't necessarily romantic, like maybe the baseline in society is to assume its platonic? anyway. so she finds out so early on that her and lando are soulmates. when they're kids so it never occurs to either of them that it might be romantic (even though it eventually IS). and then the situation develops as above lol, resenting/disliking oscar and all. and in the THICK OF IT, she must find out that oscar is also her soulmate. and must hate him more because of it. ugh idk all of them being soulmates is so cute and finding out at different stages, or not telling each other, or being confused when they all have two soulmates because while it happens, it's not super common or talked about.

I have musings about how Malware's recovery goes in GC but it's got allot of complex feelings and concepts involved, and although i think the sheer dumbassery of canon would allow it on some level, I know some people might look at this and be like "bro you're literally stupid"

Ben does not forgive malware for hurting him, or doing anything he did. In fact he doesn't really like malware at all. but as an adult and fighting him in a weakened form. fighting him him felt unfulfilling and kind of pathetic.

he kinda felt like he just beat up someone who could barely defend himself because they dont like eachother. it kinda made him feel like a jerk even if he hates malware

like in AF he straight up took satisfaction in Vilgax needing to ask him for help and even got him a petty little kids meal. so ben is not above helping his enemy even if he acts petty about it

I dont think ben really hates anyone that deeply that he would look at them suffering and go "you should suffer more" thats just not who he is

GC Malware's comeback is messy, and he's not really completely the same malware that Ben took down by force before because he's weak and exhausted and angry but the anger he has is like, trying to use a pilot light to boil a pot of water

After their initial fight Ben does toss Malware in the plumbers holding cells for a while. and Malware does maybe consider trying to escape, but read above as to why he doesn't bother. he just lays in their and hopes either something happens allowing him to get out, or he passes out and doesn't have to think about it.

Ben comes back for him after the last post i made about him meeting Malware 23, and considers "What if I help him this time. Azmuth isn't going to do it, and I couldn't do anything when I was 10 or 17. But maybe I could do something for him now" and he's had a good long think about it. what could Help Malware.

he hasn't told his mom about the Feedback incident, or really brought up Malware at all, so she doesn't know shit. and what Malware lacks is people who care about him, but especially familial people who care about him.

so he's plan is to see if his parents will let him let malware crash their. the stipulation for malware being if he does ANYTHING to his parents, ANYTHING sinister, Ben will rain hell down upon him like he's never known before.

Malware considers this and maybe even asks why ben is doing this

bens response can be summarized "cause im a better person then you, and even after it all, even after you HURT ME, I'm going to help you, and you're going to feel better, and you're going to feel guilty about it even when life gets better, and that seems like a reasonable punishment"

Malware doesn't really have much of choice here btw. He is being forced into this situation weather or not he likes it. and you may go "well you cant FORCE someone to recover" and you're right

but malware isn't gonna put up much of a fight cause he knows his limits (right now)

Sandra is open to the idea of letting malware stay in their guest room for a while, Carl is dubious but agrees cause he sees his son doing something kind. Malware is disgruntled, awkward, and uncomfortable (also Ben lies through his teeth about malware being a "friend" to his parents. like actually through actual clenched teeth)

for a while Malware stays holed up in the room, mostly sleeping or considering his deflated anger.

Sandra tries (and succeeds at some point) to get him to come out and be social. Her and Carl maybe even learn a little about him too, mostly just a vague idea of him being abandoned, and not liking other people very much.

i havn't gotten much further into the details, but I think Sandra would at least be the one who, after interacting with Malware a couple times, realizes he's very depressing. And it makes her sad that he seems so allergic to connecting with people. to her, as a mother, he comes off as a kid who hasn't been shown enough love and attention, and she is actually kinda correct.

details aside i had this idea of Sandra and Carl coming back to the house after being out for a day and finding Malware collapsed (a spontaneous system shut down)

and they roll him over so he's flat on his back, and Sandra has his head in her lap petting him while Carl is on the phone with the plumbers trying to see what kind of help he should get (they're being difficult and Carl already dislikes them so hes having a bad time TM)

anyway Mal eventually starts coming to and upon opening his optic and seeing sandra, and she's like "Oh you're awake!" and realizing what's happening he immediately sits up, almost knocking sandra back, telling her not to touch him, and feeling humiliated.

He's humiliated, but he's also feeling something, anger? no something else, satisfaction? no no something ELSE

But remember that fight with Mal and Ben I mentioned? Khyber was also there but realized Mal kinda sucks and is useless now and so ditches him to save his own ass. Don't worry. THE WIND WAKER AHHHHHHHH I love this game SO much, ranked right below OOT and MM for my all time favorites.

One of my biggest critiques of the game is that I wish Aonuma was given the proper time to develop the game since you can tell that there should be more but a lot was cut out for time constraints. Still an incredible game but what I would give to have a full scale sequel or the full scope of the original game T^T!!!

I love this game so much holy shit. What a perfect sequel to the Hero of Time story, what a great continuation of Ganondorf's motive. I definitely wish there was more, esp dungeons and zora and towns, but this game was made pretty quick after MM and on the GC so I know there are limitations. Everything from Link, Tetra, the sound effects, the stylization, the Rito, the Koroks, Ganondorf, oh my god I absolutely adore it. Everything about it is so unique yet having the core Zelda elements within it. I also noticed how many future games took a lot of inspiration from this game, esp TP and TOTK. I also love how involved Tetra/Zelda is to the plot, Link could not have succeeded without her help, esp in the final battle and when saving Aryll. This game gives so much personality and background to Link and Tetra, every single cutscene is such a delight. This would be a super replayable game if my GC wasn't so wonky. Hopefully it'll come back to the switch. I love this game :')

Picked up Pikmin 4 earlier in the year and just finished it this weekend. I recently grabbed the Pikmin bundle off of the eShop since I had never played the first, and replayed Pikmin 3 in anticipation for a continued story. Held off on replaying Pikmin 2 because it sits as a genuine watermark for me from back in the GC days, and I didn't want to set up a bar for disappointment.

Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed in 4. I was really hoping that we'd get some answers on the recurring appearances of the Phantasms, or something about why every time these diminutive people visit earth, their ships blow up in the atmosphere, guaranteeing a crash and encounter with the Pikmin. Assuming engineering incompetence isn't the reason, I always held the idea that Pikmin are ultimately a least a partially parasitic species (in part inspired by the existence of Bulbmin) that requires some level of external intervention / action to survive, and are, to a certain extent, the reason Olimar and others repeatedly crash land on the planet. At the end of Pikmin 3, the credits show the Pikmin watching the sky as the Koppaites leave, only to immediately turn and head away as a falling star - likely another pilot - streaks to earth. The Pikmin understand what they're seeing to enough of a degree that they anticipate help - help that they need and ensures their advancement up the local food chain.

Anyways, narratively P4 didn't provide much in terms of answers, which is a shame. The game itself is good! I did find the boss / treasure reuse to be a little... disheartening? I'm personally not fond of "memory lanes" / "'memberberries"; the trend of rehashes of Green Hill and Chemical Plant Zone in Sonic titles have absolutely soured me on stuff like this in games. Difficulty wise, P4 felt... easy overall. However, to be fair on this aspect I did make relatively liberal use of the Rewind function in a few areas. I did really like the Dandori challenges; these were really great - I absolutely sunk quite lot of time into getting platinum scores. I would love a Challenge aspect that is the caves + treasures + their bosses, fully respawned, with or without a timer. Clearing out a floor is pretty easy and it's really unfortunate that there's no reason to go back afterwards. The final cave is easily the best in the game, and I wish there were more caves like it. The Empress Bulblax encounter in that absolutely tiny room was Good Shit(tm) and the final boss was A+.

I want to be as fair as possible, though - P4 feels easy because I started with P2, and there are aspects to P2 that are rightly improved on in P4. There's lock-on, there's charge, no instant hazard death outside of bombs and pits. These are good changes for the series overall. Also, Oatchi is great.

Also, really, really happy with Piklopedia is back! Really missed it in P3, also stoked that if you want, you can replay any boss on the spot. Outside of narrative, my only true gripe is the best upgrade for Oatchi being locked to, essentially, after the game is finished, when there is no reason or true chance to use it.

Hoping that P5 might have more on the Phantasms. In P2 the Phantasm is a very interesting gimmick that put the purple Pikmin to proper use. P3 rose a lot of questions about the Phantasms - it felt like it wasn't an "accident" or some kind of afterthought that the Gold Phantasm was the final boss. The Phantasms technically only appear as a memory lane encounter in P4. I suppose we'll see in... 10 years? In the meantime, I'll replay P2 - see how rosy those glasses really are, and maybe try a sort of "minimum Pikmin" run for P4 to spice it up for myself.

That being said, I don't know if it's about the tattoos or why he couldn't go to that specific unit. Some people said because he has a minor criminal record (that time he crashed into a taxi with his car). I really don't know and don't care to know about units or divisions or the requirements for it.

However, I don't think I need to know all that to know that enlistment it's a combination of a few things; rules, obligations, prohibitions, goals, abilities, not a romantic or sentimental decision.

Right before the live happened, I wrote that post about how they were probably advised and made decisions based on personal goals and limitations. After writing that post, they went live, and Taehyung says the exact same thing on the live: that he made his choice because he has a goal. Jungkook saying he wants to do special forces probably means that he had more choices, and for some reason he couldn't or just didn't go through with it. I will still stand by my opinion that the whole thing was not a sentimental decision and they had logical, strategic reasons for their choices.

Also, as I was watching some clips from the live I thought about how shy Jimin is. He got even more closed up and shy since the pandemic. Jungkook isn't the friendliest, most open person out there, either. The rest aren't as shy or reserved. You do with that what you will. Even that would be a decision based on, like I've said, personal limitations. Jin being in the picture for at least six months is definitely deliberate, as well. As Jimin has mentioned, he talked a lot with Jin on the phone while he was there.

Personally, I too would choose to go with a friend. Millions of people even enrol in college together because they're wary of going alone into a new, unknown environment. It makes the most sense out of the whole thing. I imagine a lot of people try it out as well, and it works for some and not for others. Namjoon will probably get an office job, and he couldn't apply for that anways. Taehyung has something else in mind, and his friend already served in that place he's going. He might even already have connections or acquaintances there.

Finally, I wanted to say that the argument that "Taehyung could've gone with him" is so dumb to me, sorry. Thousands of gay men who are in relationships enrol in the military probably every day, and not all of them choose to go together. Probably NONE of them choose to go together, actually. Do I enjoy making the videos I'm famous for? Well yes and no. I do like diving into the history of some accidents espescially those not as well known and the friendly comments I get praising me for my works (even rarely sometimes from actual victims or family members of the victims) but at the same time those videos take a lot out of me and it's very easy to get burnt out after making enough of em. The images I have to search for sometimes for many of them namely ones involving passenger trains doesn't help either. Still as long as you guys keep watching them I'll still keep making them.

To answer your 2nd question that's a huge yes as not only is my 1st name the same as that tank engine in question (please still refer to me as Thunder or Thunderbolt however, I don't like when complete strangers call me by my actual name) but Thomas and Friends was a driving force for my interest in trains. As for favorite episodes? it's hard to choose 1 as I have several favorites but one I always turn back to every so often is the Diesel and Duck Trilogy namely "A Close Shave for Duck" for that insane runaway and crash sequence. The music, narration (doesn't matter if it's GC or RS), and visuals are stellar and go hand in hand for crafting such a good episode... Just wish more light was shown on how Diesel got found out but hey beggars cant be choosers.

You sat at your campus' foyer as you waited for Aether to arrive. You watched the rain pouring down everywhere. To see the water droplets crash down everywhere seemed so fascinating to you. Even though it was late afternoon, the sky was so gloomy. It almost seemed like it was in sad mood. The opposite to what you were feeling currently.

Your heart was racing and you waited for Aether with anticipation.

You didn't know why you were so worked up. Was it because it was your first time seeing Aether after two weeks? Probably.

You genuinely enjoyed his company that day and you wanted to hangout with him more. But you didn't know what was stopping you from asking him again. Did you feel shy with him? Did he enjoy your company? You hoped he did. Otherwise your goal to be friends with him was going to be impossible to achieve.

You soon heard the sound of someone running towards you. You turned around and spotted a familiar blond holding a large umbrella.

"Sorry if you had to wait a long time for me to arrive yn, I came as quick as I could."

You glanced over his features, he looked like he was out of breath and was gasping for air.

"It's alright Aether, I didn't wait for long. And you shouldn't have ran all the way here when it's raining, what if you slipped and got hurt??? Your sister would probably be worried sick!!"

"Let's just wait here for a while until you catch your breath. After all, you only came here just because Lumine told you and I feel bad."

You felt your breath hitch and you looked at him in confusion.

"W-well i heard from lumine that no one was able to pick you up... and i thought you wouldn't have liked to stay here and wait until 6 for my sister or Hu Tao to arrive when you could be doing other things. I mean I wouldn't want to be stuck in this downpour alone as well, hahah.."

Wow, he was so thoughtful.

You gave him a small smile and replied, "Thanks Aether, I really appreciate you coming here to pick me up."

"Don't mention it! So..." He held his hand out towards you.

"Shall we get going?"

"We shall."

The walk in the rain was a quiet one, despite the rain crashing down everywhere. Both you and Aether were walking to his and Lumine's house in silence. The siblings opted to live in their own house instead of the campus dorms since their house was quite near to the college.

The both of you were sharing an umbrella together and were heading towards your destination. Though the umbrella was big enough to fit you both, you can't help but fluster over the fact that you were standing so close to him. Sure, you were literally on him when he saved you from the cyclist that day but that was different! It was in the heat of the moment. This time you were actually walking next to him and trying to not get wet in the rain.

"So... how was your day?" He asked. Probably trying to break the silence between you guys.

"Hmm... I guess it was alright. But Professor Varka was definitely picking on me today. He kept on asking me questions during lecture today and I couldn't even get out of it. And I think Ms Lisa is starting to get annoyed of me and Scara's antics lol, plus..."

While you were going on and on about your day, you didn't notice how big Aether's smile was getting as he stared at you.

[A quick note from the mun. Making an OC is a new experience to me so a lot of this I'm just starting to figure out. The outline was suggested by a friend to help better define Jigs and give me some more solid footing if I decide to share written fiction of him. This may get updated from time to time as I think to new things to it that just didn't dawn on me before.]

Growing Up

Parents moved to Ishgard, didn’t fit in with the culture of the steppe, did not want isolation of the underwater communities.  Mother liked the snow, and made some friends quickly in the Brume.  Jigs very young for this, barely remembers any of it.

Jigs took to the Ishgardian knights that guarded around the city.  A lot disliked him and chased him off, but a few developed a liking for him.  Jigs would run around with a wooden sword and shield, occasionally chase down shoplifters on the Jeweled Crozier (became friends with Elaisse due to that).

Father fought in the dragon war, and unbeknownst to Jigs at the time, took much risker missions to help ensure his family had a place and would remain above suspicion in Ishgard.  He died on one of those missions while Jigs was around 10.

Mother worked in manufacturing job in Ishgard to support war effort.  She was a social butterfly, but like his father she received a lot of scrutiny but eventually became trusted among the staff, and very skilled in her craft.  Died in a building collapse caused by a dragon attack while Jigs was in his late teens.

With both parents gone, Elaisse spoke to the knights he had befriended and together that got him passage to Ul’Dah and arranged a visit to the Gladiators guild which would provide him with the skills he’d need to be a knight.

Disposition

Personality:  Most people would consider Jigs a bit of a stoic.  He does tend to be very matter of fact with most things, but does try for the occasional joke.  He doesn’t drink, smoke, or have any addictions.  If party members ask him to go out drinking he politely declines, though he may follow them into the bar/tavern to eat.  Generally Jigs is kind of boring.

Hobbies, Likes, Dislikes, Favorites:

Likes:  Rain, Snow, trees, quiet days.

Dislikes:  fighting/arguments between friends or loved ones, the beach, Limsa Lominsa, Eulmore.

Hobbies:  Cooking, Reading (mostly fiction)

Favorites:

Weapon: Shield mostly, considers it his primary weapon.  Will use a sword more for pokes/parries than larger moves.  The shield he’ll happily crash into things with.

Food:  Pancakes

Color:  Blue

Time of Day:  Very early morning, before sunrise

Thoughts on main cities:

Ishgard:  Home.  He sees its faults, but likes it nonetheless.  He especially enjoys the nights there.

Ul’Dah:  Was a bit of a culture shock when he first arrived, but he adjusted.  Too warm for his liking, and the rampant corruption bothers him.

Gridania:  The climate is nice, as are all the trees.  The people are ok.  He’s got no strong feelings one way or the other about the city.  His FC and GC are both based there so he’s a frequent visitor.

Limsa Lominsa:  Jigs least favorite city.  He feels that allowing piracy against your foes isn’t any better ethically than against friends.  The crowds on the lower decks bother him as well as the rampant partying.  He avoids this city at all costs.

Kugane:  He never felt comfortable here, could never put his finger on why though.  Everything seemed ok on the surface but he had a hard time learning the customs.

Crystarium:  Jigs loved this city, and saw it as a home away from home.  He saw a lot of similarities with Ishgard both with the people and the situation within the city as the war footing he saw when he arrived made him feel like he was back home despite the other things going on.

Old Sharlayan:  He see’s a lot of the government as stuffy and bureaucratic and feels he’s way too old to be running around with the college kids. He likes the library though.

The Azim Steppe:  He see’s why his parents left.  These people are nuts.

Doman:  He was happy to get the city rebuilt.  He still visits occasionally.

Eulmore:  Jigs intensely dislikes this city, and while some friends have brought up that the slums versus the city is similar to the Brume/Foundation versus the Pillars, he kind of grunts and tries to avoid the argument.  He sees Eulmore as far more garish and immoral and therefore the situation is different (it’s really not though).

Bestways Burrow:  The theme can get a bit grating, but generally he likes the loporrits and was happy to help Dreamingway with their projects.  He visits occasionally but typically doesn’t stay very long.

Radz-at-Han:  It’s ok – no strong feelings either way.  The food is too spicey for him, and he has a hard time finding his way around.  On more than one occasion he has jumped from an overhang into another area.  He figured healing himself after landing was easier than trying to find his way back.

Fighting:  Jigs took to his training like water to a sponge.  If it’s a battle he’s cautious but confident.  Even if he’s dealing with something he’s never seen before, he trusts his skills enough to get him through.

Fighting Alone: Slow and cautious, he’s fine to take his time and wear something down while defending attacks and healing any damage; minimal focus on offense.

Fighting with Others:  Good to play support roles but will step up and lead if no one else does.  May occasionally prioritize protecting others over dealing damage and/or protecting himself.  Generally, thinks things through but sometimes his math is wrong.

Education:  Jigs knows how to read, write, and perform math.  He’s intelligent, but not really an expert on anything outside of being a paladin.  He’s good with processes (A -> B -> C), but stumbles with things that require being clever or creative like puzzles or riddles.

Social:  Jigs is definitely introverted left to his own devices, and has a habit of overthinking things, or reading way too much into them.

Communication:  Jigs is not a strong communicator.  He tends to rely on being clear and honest (if not a bit blunt), to get through most social situations.  He’s very polite, and doesn’t swear, and only rarely insults anyone often preferring just to stay silent.

Friendship:  Jigs is slow to consider someone a friend and doesn’t mix that term up with someone being an acquaintance.  Once he considers someone a friend he’d move the world for them.

Romance:  Jigs has no experience with romance.  The job came first, and he’s never bothered looking for a companion.
