(to be totally fair this is an excerpt of a Tweet from 2020 so I have to assume she may have reversed her position after actually reading the book. I also think dogpiling on the Internet is not nice and stuff etc. etc. but she did post this with her full name and picture of herself attached... no idea why... you do that shit on Tumblr).

#what's funny about online discourse which fixates on the moral specificities of the romance #is that when I read wuthering heights the most interesting thing to me was the layered narrative #within narrative within narrative #and cathy/heathcliff functioning as like a local type of mythological construction #until they are released from the story and both rewarded #incest figures in so much folklore/myth (and victorian literature in general) that it makes sense... if you read widely of course #and for it being taught in school I could see that being very good to look at how multiple perspectives interact... source evaluation...
