Hiii~ so you're one of my favourite suzumutsu writers and i REALLY love the way tou grasp the personality of these characters and so i really trust you to answer this question,,, ive been scrolling through aot these days and i found a certain fic ab a certain ship w mustuki where they basically become parents of a baby conceived AND birthed by mutsuki(w the fic being centered on mutsuki going through postpartum... to this day I honestly don't know how to feel about that fic and this heavy doubt(and discomfort) echoes in my head as mutsuki is my favorite character: all things considered, would mustuki ever to go through a pregnancy willingly? would he ever be comfortable, what exactly are his thoughts on it and basically- do you see this scenario ever happening in any way? w juuzou or any partner?
Hi!! As much as I love to ramble about Suzuya, it's so nice to talk to someone whose favorite is Mutsuki! I often describe them both as my favorites, just my 'it me' favorite and my 'love of my life favorite, myself. I'm flattered that you would want to hear my take on an aspect of him that I can tell is kind of delicate in your eyes, and I see why it would be.
Just gonna warn you right now, hopefully morbid isn't a bad thing, and I don't think it's any worse than the rest of the series, but just in case anyone doesn't want that in their lives, this answer is kinda morbid, and mentions/implies sexual assault.
Let me just say, I totally feel your doubt, as I don't see him or Suzuya as the parenting types. In Mutsuki's case specifically, you can like children, be good with them, and want to treat them kindly without wanting your own. As much as he does like them, he also likes being able to give them back to their actual parents so he can go scour all traces of their snot/spitup/mysterious child stickiness from his body before he has a mini-breakdown. The only thing I see them having any desire to parent is cats.
Anywho, to answer your actual question, I don't see him ever conceiving willingly. For one, wanting children is a pretty important prerequisite for doing so, which is why I led with that even though it's not exactly what you asked. Even if someone else with no desire for him to co-parent was both close enough to him to know he's a trans man and desperate enough to ask him of all people to be a surrogate, it would break his heart, and he would feel horrible about not being able to stomach something that means so much to a friend of his, but not enough that he would do it. Dysphoria plus a phobia of blood that (in my headcanon world) extends to other bodily fluids, bodily trauma, and a lot of medical-type stuff do not mix with any desire to go through a pregnancy, in my opinion.
That being said, maybe, if I had to rack my brain for a scenario where even some of what you describe would happen while still being (my idea of) in character, there is exactly one way that makes a reasonable amount of sense to me. I think if he conceived against his will, during his captivity on Rushima or some other awful time caused by someone he knew was a ghoul, he would swallow his many layers of discomfort to carry an extremely rare tissue donor, knowing it would be too weak to survive long after birth, to term.
I'll be the first to say the series really went from good fantasy to bad sci-fi by the end of :re and ghoul anatomy/physiology and medicine pertaining to it (ESPECIALLY repro, hooo boy did rereading the one-eyed ghoul wiki for this ask induce some off-screen facepalming) doesn't make much sense in a lot of places, but if Kaneki's whole dragon thing led to life-saving biomedical research, I would imagine something like that would be useful? I did say this was if I had to rack my brain.
I still don't see him being at all comfortable with it. Actually, I think he would discover triggers and phobias he didn't even know he had at every turn and be pretty miserable through it all. But we're talking about someone who got into Torso's taxi all those years ago because if his hunch was right, he would save one person. Any investigator with a modicum of sense would know he isn't going to stop Torso altogether by getting in that taxi all alone at his skill level-- more likely he would just be killed too; he did it for that one person. If he would give his life to help one person, I don't think it's that much of a reach that he would give even the most harrowing nine months of his life for research that could help countless people, including Shirazu Haru and (apparently) Shinohara.
In addition to that being the kind of person Mutsuki is, I can also see him faulting himself for things he would never fault anyone else for, such as killing his captor before his captor could torture him to death. If it was after Rushima, he might struggle with a lot of guilt and feel like a murderer for doing what he had to do to survive. Add terminating a pregnancy that resulted from said torture to that guilt, and he wouldn't be able to bring himself to do it, even if he knows that by no sound logic is he killing a human being. Under his circumstances, being the person he is, it would feel like he's already a murderer for saving himself from Torso and now he wants to add to the body count, and that alone is too much for him. Logic loses out and emotionally, he's torn between two options that, to him, are both unthinkable. At least something good can come of one of those unthinkable options.
You probably expect as much coming from me of all people, but I don't think he would get through it without Suzuya by his side. For one, it's not talked about much on the human side iirc, but I don't imagine that being pregnant with a hybrid doesn't endanger the parent and he would probably dismiss it as personal weakness and end up near-death at the first attempt by the tiny tissue donor to wreak havoc on the hostile environment that is his body. Suzuya, however, would reliably not let that happen. There are lots of characters in the series who have killed, but Suzuya's relationship with death is especially intimate and he's taken so many bodies apart up so close and personal, even compared to all but a handful of other characters in the series. To this day in completely unrelated situations he can feel someone might be dying in his bones and his instinct is rarely wrong.
Also just a headcanon, but I think the CCG would utilize some kind of tactical emergency medicine program, as every major operation we see is a shining example of a situation that normal EMS can't safely enter, and Mr. “Hang in there, don't die yet!” would jump SO HARD on the opportunity to have that training. It probably wasn't for the right reasons at first, but reasons don't matter so much when your wounded colleague gets to a hospital alive because of you. Or your significant other who didn't know his anemia was back with a vengeance until those symptoms he had been dismissing as mental anguish for a while gradually escalated to early signs of shock.
Apart from keeping him, you know, alive, Suzuya would be good for Mutsuki's fragile mental health during such a difficult time as well. Like I said, I think he would unearth things that he didn't even know he could have a phobia of or be dysphoric about. Even when Mutsuki is too far along for Suzuya's practical talent with a needle and thread or even his baggiest hoodie to help him hide his changing body, no one is going to stare at him long enough to form any small-minded opinion when Suzuya Juuzou is always at his side to glare back at them-- or worse. And even though the reasons are different, Suzuya knows what it's like to be made to feel like less of a man for something he never asked for, like his body isn't his, a lot of the terrible things Mutsuki is going through, and he knows how to make the turmoil a little less bad, sometimes.
Who better than the first person who really taught him to face his fears to hold his hand through every harrowing doctor's appointment and comfort him after a new discovery of the many things he could have gone his whole life not knowing he hated more than blood draws? Carrying an unwanted pregnancy that's making him suffer in every physical and mental way possible is slightly less awful with a Suzuya to hold his hair back, gently clean him up, and keep him company while he stays on the floor with his head between his knees for a while to avoid passing out when he learns that his reaction to vomit is not that different from blood. Pregnancy cravings even more terrible than rare meat --he knows what it really is he craves, but he can get temporary relief from other red meats, especially organs, and especially raw-- are slightly less revolting and terrible when he doesn't have to choke them down alone, and to Suzuya those things taste like childhood nostalgia.
Plus, even if you had no attachment or desire to raise it from the start, it is really fucking sad to watch a small, helpless living thing die in your hands and I just can't see Mutsuki shying away from that when the time comes. He probably named it just because 'the baby' felt too much like he did want what happened to him and 'the tissue donation' felt disrespectful, and he wouldn't feel right letting it spend the short time (if any time) between birth and death any other way than bundled in his arms, being treated just like a wanted baby as much as it may hurt him. Not to mention the physiological flood of oxytocin that doesn't care about any one birth parent's feelings or thought process. Having such a calm shoulder to cry on, even if that calm comes from desensitization to death, would be good for him once it's all a difficult, conflicted memory.

@mckiingbiird asked
Talk about Twain? ^^
Tumblr media
congratulations! i have SO much to say about twain! this is going to provide the longest answer possible out of any muse you could have picked just because twain has so little in canon and i’ve developed him so much. he’s my longest standing muse ever so there is too much about my portrayal to say without somewhat of an organization so i am right now without warning implementing a new feature into these ramble asks known as Sections. so now that i’m a little more coherent. sections.
just so you know by the way i really am not joking when i say this is over 10 paragraphs long. read at your own risk. however long you think this post is i can guarantee you it is longer.
this was for a meme i did but i literally can’t answer any more of these because i’m too ashamed by how little i have for every other muse in comparison to twain.
part I: timeline.
my twain was born just after the end of (or during the final days of) the war everyone’s always talking about in canon, and it genuinely didn’t have much of a direct impact on his life. he has six siblings (five older, one younger), and of those six there were three siblings he was closest with: orion, henry, and pleasant. orion and henry were the two oldest, and given that their dad was terribly abusive and their mom was, in twain’s own words, a coward, they did most of the work to provide for the family. although twain always thought orion and henry were mean, because they always played tricks on him. pleasant was twain’s confidant; she was the older sister he could go to if he needed something to cry about.
growing up, twain was always a troublemaking kid, and there were only so many schools in or around their town that he could get expelled from before there weren’t really many options left. in the summer before he was scheduled to go to his last year of middle school, this--among a variety of things such as the abuse of his father and a general feeling of wanting to run away--caused him to formulate a plan where he would run from home, which he did shortly before school started at the age of 13. i know i have the age he ran away listed as 14, but he tends to lie and say he actually ran away a year later.
he traveled for around a year on his own, meeting a lot of different people from a lot of walks of life, before meeting a man he would come to refer to as “uncle”, possibly under the instruction of that man. i should note that my personal hc for the identity of “uncle” is natsume souseki, but this doesn’t really have any bearing on much of anything and i tend to not mention it at all in threads where “uncle” comes up because it’s not the most significant thing. anyway, “uncle” taught him how to do many things to survive on his own, including shooting guns without his ability, making fires, cooking food over an open flame, etc. he was the first real father figure twain ever had, but he and twain eventually parted ways when twain had just turned 17.
twain did a bit of freelance work afterwards--initially he sang and played guitar on the streets for pocket change, but after he killed a man trying to kidnap a girl he didn’t know, something within him clicked: he knew he wouldn’t mind doing something like this for a living, after his initial bout of panic. his career as a freelance hitman was very short-lived, but it got him enough money that for the few hits he did, he was able to stay at nice hotels and do fun things. he never really used any of it, though, too used to not having any money at all and attached to the lifestyle of not having a home to come back to. the first time he ever splurged on himself wasn’t even anything fancy; it was an olive garden.
to the man who sat himself down at the table and bought one of every food item, the place was probably less than nothing. but to twain, so used to being poor and never having enough, it seemed like more than he could have ever asked for. and so, after very little negotiation, began twain’s contract with the guild. at the time, not-yet-eighteen year old twain was the youngest member of the guild’s ranks, but he was definitely not the least talented. he rose quickly through the ranks of the organization, becoming the chief gunman/sharpshooter and a fellowcraft of the guild after just over a year of being employed.
from there, things are probably predictable, given everything that twain is. he makes friends in the guild, begins spending the ludicrous amount of money he’s being paid for his services, and generally does what’s fun for him. he discovers a love for minecraft (more on that later) and rollercoasters, and goes on travels he never would have been able to without the security of the money he’s being paid. then, after a few years of relative normalcy, the guild goes to yokohama, and you know what happens from there.
post-canon is where things begin to get a little bit foggy for me. i do technically HAVE a mainverse idea for what happens to him, but the catch is that i almost never use it. for post-canon stuff, i tend to use one of any number of verses where he’s stayed or been caught up in yokohama, because it’s just a lot easier. but my actual mainverse headcanon unaffected by roleplay relationships i want to have is this: twain goes back to america. he unintentionally gathers a bunch of lost kids and, using his travel money, he provides for them while they all travel. and that’s it. maybe in the future he becomes successful from the tales in his success diary. maybe not. who knows?
part II: traits with basis in canon.
i don’t need to repeat that we see very little of twain, but i just did anyway. because we get very few glimpses of him, there’s not much we know outside of shallow character traits. because it’ll make things easier to talk about, here are the core traits i noticed in twain that i’ve had to build off of, and then different paragraphs talking about how i’ve built off of them.
we rarely see him anything but energetic, but he does have his quiet moments.
he’s very friendly, and tends to invite people out to do fun things with him.
he is very competitive, but NOT a sore loser.
he does things to impress others. notably, one of his canon likes is “praise”.
he’s very self-confident, but not to the point where he thinks it’s impossible to beat him, as demonstrated when he’s not angry about atsushi’s victory.
he’s very flippant about taking a life.
following orders is not his top priority.
we rarely see him anything but energetic, but he does have his quiet moments. a couple of my headcanons have stemmed from this--the first is the most obvious one and that is that twain has ADHD. this didn’t come directly from his energetic attitude and rather from a combination of multiple traits, but it also happened because i was projecting. the other headcanon that’s stemmed from this combination of facts is that twain is smarter and more introspective than most people give him credit for. this has backing in the scene where he shoots at atsushi from the moby dick; instead of shooting at atsushi, he diverts his aim to the oil truck in front of him.
he’s very friendly, and tends to invite people out to do fun things with him. there are a lot of things i can talk about in this regard, but i’ll start here: twain genuinely likes to meet and make friends with new people. despite his occupation, he loves hearing others’ stories and tends to ask them about them. along with this and somewhat in tandem with the introspective part of the first hc, twain also pays a lot more attention to how people act and what they like than everyone tends to think he does. this actually has basis in my dive into the real life author mark twain, as he was notably famous for being able to pick up on people’s mannerisms, accents, and ideologies well enough to flawlessly represent them on paper (he claimed he could “read human character as well as he could read the mississippi river “).
he is very competitive, but NOT a sore loser. from this trait, i’ve sort of developed the idea that it’s very rare for twain to actually get angry, and he tends not to argue with people. he’s very quick to forgive if he knows he was in the wrong and tends to say sorry first after arguments, but at the same time, if he knows he’s right and shouldn’t be the one apologizing, he’ll cling onto that until the day he dies. also, this has spawned the smaller and less significant hc that twain likes to do competitive activities like laser tag or mini golf for fun, especially since you don’t necessarily have to know the people you’re doing those things with.
he does things to impress others. notably, one of his canon likes is “praise”. there’s not really much to say here in terms of how i’ve built on this, but one notable thing is that i attribute this trait to the lack of praise he got from his parents growing up, and how lonely he felt even when he was traveling with “uncle”. he likes when people are impressed by him because he’s impressed by himself, and when he doesn’t get the reaction he expected it puts a little bit of a damper on his confidence. temporarily.
he’s very self-confident, but not to the point where he thinks it’s impossible to beat him, as demonstrated when he’s not angry about atsushi’s victory. speaking of confidence, i actually have a whole journey laid out about twain’s journey with arrogance v. confidence and the overabundance of arrogance to make up for a lack of confidence in his earlier years. when he first ran away, he had a very troubled and hateful mindset, and outwardly portrayed that he believed himself to be the best of the best while really thinking he was terrible and a burden to his family. it was only through meeting so many people and the guidance of “uncle” in his more formative years that he began to develop a genuine sense of self confidence and, by the time he hits 20, everything good he says about himself is genuinely true. this said, he is also very aware of his flaws (for example, he definitely knows he isn’t too smart or careful or focused), but he doesn’t view them as detriments to his character and instead chooses to believe that without his flaws, he wouldn’t be himself.
he’s very flippant about taking a life. this trait actually was what caused me to think about how he took his first life. i’ll walk you a little through the things he felt when he did: he was angry, at first, then terrified, then secretly glad, and then sooner rather than later he genuinely felt nothing about it. as he’d go on to carry out hits for various people and the guild, that feeling of initial panic would become smaller and smaller every time, until the lives of the people he had to kill didn’t really matter to him. that said, it’s important to me that he still values connection and friendship with other people, so he definitely does. i believe these two traits can coexist when done properly; he values the lives of people and the stories they have to tell, but all life ends someday anyway and nothing is lost by the end of that life sooner than it would have ended otherwise.
following orders is not his top priority. this is, i think, where i get the idea that twain is a free spirit. it is this that has sort of shaped twain in every way, whether it’s getting expelled from every school in his area or going overboard on a mission where his target should have been left alive. i think his top priorities are having fun and having a good story to tell later, and while letting atsushi die wouldn’t have fallen under something fun, twain’s anticipated victory definitely would have been a good story to tell others.
part III: traits with basis in how mark twain was in real life.
an unashamed love of cats. it doesn’t come up SUPER often, but i like to remind people from time to time that my twain absolutely adores any and all cats, and had plenty of them himself before the guild arc. this comes from rl mark twain being obsessed with cats to the point where he’d have up to 19 cats at once, and would straight up rent cats while he was traveling so he never had to be without cats.
traveling. speaking of traveling! this not only comes from rl twain’s travels, but also the love for adventure displayed by huck and tom in their books. bsd twain really wouldn’t be a good adaptation of the soul of mark twain without acknowledging his travels. i think there were hints to this in the show, but definitely not as much as i would have liked. my twain is a restless soul and not only likes seeing new placed, but meeting new people.
unashamed acceptance. this actually stems both from the central ideas of several of twain’s novels as well as a quote and his love of traveling. my twain used to be a terrible person; he came from a conservative family and had no internet access beyond the one TV that they had, so it’s not like he was very informed. it was traveling and meeting so many people that caused him to develop the accepting nature he has today.
utter devotion to objects of his affection. i’m assuming because everyone reading this is probably a normal person, they DON’T know the intimate details of twain’s relationship to his wife. well i personally do. while there were undoubtedly some problems between them, there is one thing i choose to input in my relationships involving twain: he genuinely bent over backwards to get her to love him. he would do literally anything for her. and that’s a huge big part of how i portray twain in all of his relationships because i input that aspect of “willing to do anything for his partner, even if it wasn’t what he might have wanted to do beforehand, just so he can be happy with them”.
profanity and sex. i don’t know how much you know about twain’s other works that aren’t his most popular, but he was known for being very prolific and obscene in certain works, to the point where he made a joke about the word ‘damn’ being in used in substitution of the word ‘very’. for his time, he was also very obscene and made a lot of references to not only sex but other things that were considered taboo subjects among the respectable like, i kid you not, farting. because of this, my twain curses a LOT. and i can’t exactly explore this much since i myself am a minor and don’t know how far i can really go, but he is very in tune with sexuality and basically this man has a lot of sex.
comedy. to put things plain and simple, RL mark twain was basically a touring standup comedian for a good portion of his life. i attribute this fact to why twain is the funniest person in the guild and always tries to keep things light and fun.
bouts of depression. i should say this now: my twain doesn’t have depression. but, since i didn’t want to ignore the fact that the real author more than likely DID, i felt i should include my twain’s suicide attempts just before and just after leaving home, when he felt he was at his lowest.
the river. the river not only serves as a motif for twain’s most famous story, but also his actual life. if you know anything about rl mark twain, you know he was a steamboat captain for a little while. my twain definitely was not (although i have thought about giving him a steamboat captain au just for fun), but nevertheless a large portion of his initial journey away from his home took place on a river, to parallel both huckleberry finn and his actual life.
thoughts on war and humanity. since i don’t write serious things with twain a lot, it’s difficult to incorporate this into most threads with him. rl mark twain was personally affected by the civil war and did all he could to avoid fighting. he never actually enjoyed conflict. my twain was NOT affected by the war, as it was just ending when he was born, however he still has a lot of thoughts on militarization that i won’t elaborate on as i’m trying my best to keep this blog free from subjects that could genuinely affect anyone’s wellbeing. as for humanity, my twain largely shares his counterpart’s view that human beings can be very greedy and selfish, but that kindness is the greatest weapon and gift one can have. his views are very complicated so it would definitely not hurt to ask him directly about them wink wink nudge nudge.
confidence and natural magnetism. i’ve already spoken about my twain in regards to confidence, but there is some of it that is based in how mark twain in real life was--and no doubt in how tom sawyer acts in every book that features him. he was once quoted as calling himself THE american. despite all this, however, i take from rl twain his natural magnetism and ability to somehow make people like speaking to him despite that he should very much come off as arrogant; with my twain, there’s really just something about him that feels as though he wants to get to know you.
curiosity about science and new technology. because of his counterpart’s interest in science and friendship with nikola tesla, my twain has a deep love for new and exciting technology, and it’s actually because of this that i have the hc that he discovered a love for video games after having enough money to actually purchase a setup to play them. he’s really interested in things like cloning and genetic altering even if he doesn’t really understand the actual science behind them and i’m very confident that if he had watched phineas and ferb his favorite character would be dr. doof.
part IV: miscellaneous.
favorite color: orange. not only is it the color of his hair, but it’s also the color of fire and a very bright and friendly color. favorite food: italian, but he’s not a picky eater and will settle for anything. he specifically enjoys good NY style pizza, but doesn’t think chicago style pizza is bad either. favorite song: american pie by don mclean. “uncle” introduced him to it. favorite movie: it honestly depends on the day. recently he’s had a strange obsession with night at the museum. favorite game: minecraft. this is the part where i explain later: it was the first game he actually played after buying himself a good enough computer to play games and he fell deeply in love with how beautiful of a game it was. he gets very emotional about the idea that for him, minecraft is a game meant to be shared with other people and for you to showcase just what you can do. he has a hardcore world that’s been up since he was 18! favorite non-alcoholic drink: lemonade. favorite alcoholic drink: whiskey. favorite season: summer, with fall as a close second. favorite holiday: halloween. he loves to dress up. this year he says he plans to dress up as the cowboy from night at the museum, but that will probably change. favorite musical: currently, newsies. but he’s also been known to like falsettos, bonnie and clyde, and 35mm. favorite place: anywhere there’s something new to see. favorite animal: coyotes! biggest fear: as strange as it may seem, he genuinely actually doesn’t have any real fears. the only thing he’s afraid of is the kool aid man because his brothers convinced him that it was filled with the blood of kids who didn’t like kool aid and he’s never been able to shake that fear from him.
MBTI type: enfp. enneagram type: 7w6. hogwarts house: gryffindor. i actually have had thoughts before about putting him in hufflepuff or slytherin, but his unashamed bravery and willingness to run headfirst into any situation with no fears as well as his BLATANT disregard for rules makes him more of a gryffindor than anything. ilvermorny house: thunderbird. it favors adventurers, and i’m sure if you’ve gotten this far you know twain loves to adventure. patronus: honestly, probably some kind of hawk or falcon. tma entity: hard to say, but i tend to have him aligned with either the eye or the vast. the eye because he likes to watch and observe and hear others’ stories, and it’s a great way to play off of twain looking through a scope to snipe people in canon. and the vast because he’s a thrill seeker and loves the feeling of falling, and also believes that in the grand scheme of things not much is very important. PJO godly parent: hermes for sure, but i have experimented with the idea of it being apollo, dionysus, or athena. hunger games district: 7. i already have this established in the hunger games au for him that i?? just kinda have for some reason. divergent faction: dauntless. i don’t even like divergent by the way, i was just kind of trying to think of other categories i would sort twain in. i think he’d definitely be divergent tho tbh.

Pre Naruto — Naruto Headcanons. Ages 9-15.
I have nothing better to do while my phone is dying.
Age 9
We're starting here since I'm working on something already. Okay so the day her whole clan was obliborated and sent straight to Jesus, Hokkaido was taken from Konoha under the Third's order. From there, she went to an orphanage in Amegakure.
The orphanage wasn't too bad, but Hokkaido couldn't help missing Konohagakure. She wanted to leave the orphange and debated running away.
However, she didn't get to run away as a couple who never had children together spotted this lonely dark haired girl and wanted to adopt her. This led to confusion. Someone genuinely wanted to adopt her, a broken child?
They did adopt her. But she was quiet, confused even.
The lady was one of the most beautiful ladies she had ever seen, complete with Auburn hair and deep green eyes and a pallor complexion. Her new mother's name was Emi Suzuki of the Hidden Rain.
The man was strong, and he looked very mean, but he wasn't. Hokkaido just didn't know that yet. He had short, messy Sandy blonde hair and cocoa colored eyes. This was Shindou Suzuki, a very strong Shinobi of the Hidden Rain.
Upon going to her new home, things were very different. This family was patient with her learning and never pushed her too much, they had accepted her as if she really were their own child. But she didn't want to call them mom or dad because she only ever had one mom and one dad.
Hokkaido was given a nice room with a twin sized bed and a desk for schoolwork, Emi enjoyed buying her stuffed animals, her favorite was her stuffed panda that somehow made her think of Shisui. She slept with it every single night.
Entering the academy, she made two friends that she held close to her heart.
Aito Fugikame, a small and dark haired girl with violet eyes who reminded her of Hinata Hyūga from Konoha, maybe that's why she enjoyed her company so much.
Eiji Yamada, a brunette make who seemed a little idiotic but super friendly and was outcasted for being such a loveable idiot. This was in ways, her Naruto of Amegakure.
She began to adjust to her new life, the pain seemingly subsiding as she always came home to a hot meal and was called Yua, (and it literally means binding love and affection) by Emi.
Things were starting to go great, and for once after the massacre, Hokkaido Uchiha was smiling as she came home. But she missed her brother, Sasuke. She wondered how he was doing in Konoha.
Age 10
Having a good birthday, she blew the candles out on her cake before hiding her face in her hands. She was crying but didn't know why. Sure, she was happy, but how long would it last without her only other blood relative?
The trio [Hokkaido, Aito and Eiji] often roamed the village together and practiced their skills together, she finally perfected her Fireball Jutsu.
That's when people began looking at her all weird, she was an outsider, and they knew just how strong the Uchiha clan was.
Aito's mother wouldn't let her visit nor talk to Hokkaido anymore. This was the downfall.
Hokkaido shut herself off, she barely exited her room unless it was to eat or go to school.
Age 11
Emi had conceived her first daughter this year and she seemed rather focused upon the new baby that was due to arrive in July. Hokkaido was conflicted on how to feel, she was once her foster parents primary focus, and it seemed they had less and less time for her now. She never brought it up. She was still grateful she was given a family.
In July, Emi gave birth to a healthy little girl named Ichika. Hokkaido wanted eagerly on the front steps of their house, but was only met with a sullen faced Shindou and a baby in his arms. Emi was no where around.
Later that evening, Shindou had explained that Emi had passed on, and that Hokkaido was now rightfully the woman of the house.
Even though Emi wasn't her biological mother, Hokkaido was broken again. She had lost two mother's in her life. This was the very first time she cried over someone who wasn't related to her in any way.
But Ichika reminded her so much of Emi. She had beautiful Auburn hair and a buttoned nose, just like Emi. And Hokkaido would constantly talk to the growing child about how amazing their mother was.
At the time, she hadn't even realized she reffered to Emi as her own mother. She just knew she missed her more than anything.
Age 12
Celebrating Ichika's first birthday wasn't how she ever imagined it to be. Emi wasn't there to see her daughter grow up, she hadn't even gotten to see Hokkaido graduate from the Academy and become a genin.
Hokkaido was put in a squad with Aito and Eiji, but things were still tense with herself and Aito. Hokkaido never knew how to process her emotions. She used to go to Itachi or Shisui for things like that. But Shisui had died a year before the massacre.
This year also happens to be the year Hokkaido got her menstrual cycle. She went into a panic, thinking she was dying and bleeding out. After all, she really didn't have a grown female figure to turn to about this.
She was embarassed to even tell Shindou, but he was very calming and understanding. He explained she was becoming a woman and even gave her the birds and bees talk. She was disgusted.
Sasuke is now ten, and she wonders how he's doing. She debated on writing him a letter, but out of nervousness, she doesn't.
Age 13
Hokkaido spent a lot of her time doing activities as she was now co sidered am elder sibling by Ichika. Ichika was walking and talking and every day passing, looked more like Emi.
Hokkaido began training for her chunin exams, which, were coming up very shortly. She spent many hours training with her squad a day and had often had to be retrieved by Shindou.
Shindou often scolded her for overworking herself as he forced her to drink plenty of water and eat her greens. He was only looking out for his eldest after all.
Upon the day of the exams, Hokkaido finds out all three of her squad had to sign up. And they had. They are now officially beginning their journey as chunin.
The first exam, she nearly crapped a brick. The written test was hard and she knew nothing. But she still tried her hardest, hearing and seeing others being disqualified for cheating. Her heart was hammering in her chest.
Afterwards, when she found out the objective was to cheat without being caught, she literally facepalms herself because she hadn't even thought of cheating. And then that damned question was asked.
Back at the exam, the proctor states that the candidates are free to choose whether or not they want to try and solve the tenth question. If they opt out, the entire team will fail. If they choose to answer the question but get it wrong, they will be barred from taking the Chūnin Exams forever.
Hokkaido's heart hit her guts. She was afraid of never becoming a chunin. But she pressed forward, only to find out the tenth question was already asked. The question was to test their determination and bravery.
Since I'm a lazy bastard and ive worked on this almost all damn day, I'm moving forward.
During the one on one fights, Hokkaido was matched against Kabuto Yakushi. [you know. Cuz this mf kept taking the exams cuz he a spying little-]
She lost.
She lost.
She didn't become a chunin on her first try, but congratulated Aito and Eiji upon becoming Chunin.
Age 14
Sasuke was finally old enough to take his own chunin exams and they were being hosted in Konohagakure! Hokkaido was estatic, she was finally going home to Konohagakure, even if it was just for the exams.
The exams started the same, and she passes. She couldn't help but keep glancing toward her brother however, a tugging on her heart. He hadn't even looked her way.
She wondered if he forgot her. He hadnt.
After the written exams, they prepared for the second part. Hokkaido was paired with two Amegakure genin.
However, a red haired sand ninja with a foul attitude caught her eye. Gaara.
Another skip, I'm half dead.
Anyway,, she became a chunin because of the circumstances and after the fight with Gaara and Naruto, Hokkaido goes home back to Amegakure.
Sasuke had changed so much, her little brother was growing up.
Age 15
Hokkaido had been caring for Ichika and tried being a great big sister to the four year old who somehow ended up looking up to her like she had to Itachi. It left her heart hurting a little.
Still, she would sometimes think back to that red haired boy.
She often ignored it because she didn't want to even tell Shindou about a possible boy she liked, let alone one that was so damn destructive.
Things were going well, and she was being sent on a mission to Konohagakure soon. This mission, however, required her to move away for six months. She would be aiding the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade.
She wondered why she was chosen for such a thing...
Okay. That's rushed but there. Heres her OG Naruto Headcanons. Shippuden comes next. Feedback is much appreciated. Nah this isn't proofread either.

BIOGRAPHY. liam’s story begins actually before liam: with his parents. once upon a time a poor tailor’s apprentice & a daughter of a wealthy government official fell in love. with the daughter’s family disapproving of the unison and threatening harm to the poor apprentice, the young but madly in love couple eloped -- and ended up in the united states of america.
there, liam was born, conceived already before the eloping under a starry sky, and getting born on an equally clear night just farther north. his childhood was uneventful, and his parents were loving. money was often an issue, but his hard-working father managed to open up his own tiny tailor shop still in liam’s early years, and his equally hard-working mother brought in additional money through taking care of other children besides her own son. so despite staying an only child, liam never was alone, and his parents instilled a sense of hard work from the very beginning in him.
going through a normal school education, it was right with eighteen that liam married his high school sweetheart, and with nineteen he became father of a young son. parallel to this he signed up to the air force: neither his parents nor he nor his wife were big fans of the military complex, but nonetheless provided the air force opportunities to further his education & a stable job he could (and had to) rely on -- so the decision was clear, and albeit unhappy, unanimously accepted.
liam was happy in the air force, and for some years everything seemed to be fine. of course it was often hard to be separated from his family, but he mostly enjoyed the flying and the adrenaline coming with the missions, until one very fateful day everything changed: having lost his way on a mission gone awry, the man stumbled upon the facility: an undercover institution of the fbi where laws got ignored & confessions were pulled out of people through other means. of course they discovered liam, but instead of taking care of someone who had seen to much they offered the talented pilot two other options: either landing in the facility by himself, or working for the fbi instead. liam took the second option.
he quickly got moved to undercover assignments, and despite the initial shock not much changed in the first years. until the dangers of every new assignment got further and further increased, and after a particular dangerous but successful mission it got decided that it was safer for his family if liam would leave. it was a harsh decision and not completely voluntarily, but the fbi promised that in exchange they always would provide for his wife & his son -- and so liam cabral, officially, died. since then he is a ghost, a phantom, taking on identity after identity and seeing the true scum and vileness humans are capable of -- not the life he ever had wished for, and not the life he had deserved. but someone has to do it.
CHARACTER. as first impression, liam comes across as a nice, thoughtful man, who prefers to speak less and to observe more. he always tries to slip through cracks and memories and never be too much of anything -- not too friendly, not too harsh, just the perfect ordinary citizen neighbours greet but forget two steps after they had passed him again. but underneath the friendly mask is a very lonely, often desperate man who doesn’t and who can’t people let close for many reasons; staying by himself between assignments and missions in one of the many safe apartments he rents, eating shitty take-out food and watching cartoons in order to forget whatever horrors he had seen. he tries to deal with the fact that he often had and has to ignore his own morals to ensure the success of his missions and his own survival, but nonetheless it weighs on his shoulders like the world on atlas.
VERSES. verse i: main. biography as stated. verse ii: police officer. liam left the air force mid-twenty and became police officer. after a particular bad case where he made lots of enemies, his wife and young son got murdered. since then he focuses solely on his job and to get as many bad guys as possible. verse iii: scifi. liam works as a bounty hunter for the space government. verse iv: star trek. liam works as counselor either on a starbase or on a starship.
