Two Steps Forward
Oh this chapter. This one right here had me evil laughing at my computer. What a time.
I dunno why I love writing the interrogation scenes out. Maybe because I like reminding the reader Joker is retelling the story of us and that everything is the past tense? This is him confessing, coming clean about his Light and that does something to me.
You spoiled him rotten on life and he couldn't, in fact he didn't want to go back to the way things were before he met you.Unfortunately that wasn't meant to be. He was Gotham City's most wanted and you were a mere (semi-famous) citizen.
OOOOH! I can’t wait to reveal why Joker turned himself in!!!
"I told you, Bats. I would never hurt her. I... heh, well I made a promise noT to."
Could this be a clue? 👀😏
“Depending on the time... she could be in one place or another, so I can't answer unless ya tell meee."
“Are you implying she's in multiple places? I won't fall for that again." A brief memory of having to choose between two people came and went.
Tumblr media
RACHEL!!! I’m sorry I had to use the movie reference!
Joker just wanted you safe. You meant more to him than you'd ever know. He never felt this way for someone before so pure possessive instincts forced him to put your safety above his own in any situation.
Joker, the man you are. I won’t let anyone talk trash about you!
Tumblr media
The way you acknowledged his character flaws, (you knew in the end Joker wouldn't change) but you treated him like a normal human being, and it meant everything to him. Joker felt like he changed as a person while remaining true to himself and he would cherish that feeling forever. It was hard to describe the way you loved Joker and he felt like a fool for throwing that bond away, but he had to. It was all to keep you safe.
👀 hehe…
“Not at first. I was many things to her but never the bad guy. I tried so hard to make her hate me but she's.. something else. She would cry and get mad— but she always forgave me afterwards. Nothing I did scared her away. Say Bats! Would you believe me if I told you My Light and I started out as..."
THAT FLIPPING TRANSITION WAS SMOOTH CHAOS!
Joker merely smiled wide. God, you so desperately wanted to brush his teeth. But that was another fight to get into later. He would probably threaten you again but you didn't care. You hoped they weren't permanently stained.
Confirmed: they are not.
Tumblr media
Your bathroom was straight out of a magazine. Joker whistled lowly. "How much are your uh, royalty checks? I should change professions."
I’m so glad I created this apartment in the sims 👏🏾👏🏾
“Don't you wanna stay? I might.. slip and hit my head on your opulence." He grumbled, looking around the fancy room. You never knew when Joker was living up to his name or just being honest. His sardonic humor was difficult to pinpoint. "I hope the towel rack takes you out on the way down. I'll be outside."
Writing their banter is so fluid. They just click. ALTHOUGH I would love and stay J.. 👀 if you want me to hold it for you just lemme know 😭
“So.. this is where your ideas are stored. My, my Y/n.. you have quite the uh, imaginative brain." Oh god what did he read? You forgot to hide your notebook earlier! You felt like a teenager catching your mother reading your first WIP for the first time.
We’ve all been there.
Utter embarrassment flushed the tip of your ears scarlet red. The situation became worse when you jumped up and down trying to snatch your journal away from Joker. If you weren't so hellbent on retrieving your notebook, you would've noticed the height difference between you and him.
Size kink activated. No I’m not sorry.
Were you just imagining it? Perhaps, but when you walked towards Joker with arms open wide, he didn't take your pre-offered shoulder to lean on. Instead he didn't move at all, causing you to awkwardly hug him. Only then did he wrap his arms around you and bend down to whisper in your ear. "I happen to like the err story idea on page nineteen. Mind sharing your thought process on how that came to be, hmm?" He pulled you closer, urging you to rest your head on his chest.
Tumblr media
Joker, Gotham City's most wanted criminal, was holding you in your bathroom and subtly sniffing your hair. It smelled divine to him and he subconsciously squeezed you tighter because of it. You smelled like rosemary, lavender, peppermint, and some kind of fruit he couldn't quite name. The combination was intoxicating and before he knew it, his hand was snaking up your back and into your hair.
I think you dropped this J
Tumblr media
“Stupid jerk reading my stuff, being so freakishly tall, and ugh!" You yanked the last article of clothing out the dryer and into a basket before slamming the door.
Fun fact: this is actual dialogue I said as I was writing this rough draft. The more you know how Chaos brain works, the better. 🤣🤣🤣😣
The quicker he was healed, the faster he could be out of your life, so why did he find himself getting used to staying here? More importantly, why did he want to see you happy again?
Yeah? Why are you getting attacked Joker?
“Do I looK like someone who watches tv?" Joker grimaced. Your left eye twitched but you didn't argue with him.
Do I look like a guy with a cable plan? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes.
You yawned. "Real Housewives of Gotham City." Joker resisted the urge to smother you with a pillow. He did however smack your hand away from his plate. He tried to ignore your puppy dog eyes but caved in. The plate had two servings of food, he just wanted to mess with you.
HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THEM?! Look at my babies! Two steps forward!
The plate of food was long gone and he didn't realize he had sat up halfway into the season in suspense. Joker underestimated just how fascinating a group of housewives could be until today.
Every guy talks bad about reality tv but slick be invested in it!!
You heard him sigh on his end. You still failed to use his first name. "I must confess Y/n, I grew tired of waiting for you to call and asked Barbara for your number. I hope that wasn't too intrusive of me."
Oh Bruce. The lowkey creep you are. Stop acting like Batman. Still love you tho 👀
You whirled around in shock only to find Joker, arms crossed on the couch, looking every bit the murderer he was. His narrowed eyes sent a clear message. He was no joke to be taken lightly.
Hands down, I adore a jealous Joker. He does it so well ugh.
“Oh my dear Y/n... it's you who doesn't know a thing about Gotham's wannabe savior. What has he done for Gotham other than sign a check?"
Ooooooh get em Joker! Bruce is just a pocketbook!!!
“Do you like living, Y/n?" Joker asked. You scoffed. "What kind of dumb question is that?"
Now, I had an anon ask me what I was thinking about with this. We had a dm discussion about it and Joker is trying to pick apart Y/n here. He wants to find her flaws so he can break her. He wasn’t asking if she’s suicidal.
Just what was it about you that made him act so unlike himself? You had a way of confusing Joker.
Our man is going through it you hear me?
But first these ridiculous emotions you stirred up within him had to be eradicated. He would not be distracted by romance and lose sight of his goal. That was his plan– yet you made him toss logic out the window.
Tumblr media
“Quit acting like somebody's daddy. The city is on a curfew so no one will be out anyways. The most dangerous criminal is currently sleeping on my couch, scolding me like a strict parent."
Girl you wish J was yo daddy 🤭🤭🤭 IN TIME HE WILL BE! 😏
“Where else am I supposed to sleep bunny? With you?" You saw his grin backlit by the bright tv light, making you roll your eyes. You really hoped that nickname didn't stick.
It does.
Tumblr media
Your back hit the bed followed by the heavy weight of Joker landing on top of you. For someone so tall and lanky, his full body weight knocked the air out your lungs.
I created this scene simply because I’m petty. Pinned to the bed under Joker? Yes please.
‘Be a good girl..' It was official, you were a goner.
Tumblr media
He forgot what he had asked you. He forgot his own name really. The only thought on his mind was what your lips would feel like. He wanted to find out. He would find out.
Haha remember when I teased yall for the longest? I said slow burn.

What is your yandere's reaction if their darling suddenly asks, "You'd rather have me dead than let me go, right?"
Warnings: mentions of isolation, captivity, death, threats,
Tumblr media
Silas:
He would be appalled to hear that. That's not at all what he's doing ― or trying to convey. All he wants is you to be with him, and to not do stupid things that could cause pain for the both of you. He would try to take you in his arms, try to cach your attention.
"No, what? What are you saying? Never in a million years would I want you dead! But I can't let you go, I can't be without you. You're mine and you're stuck with me. That's that. No one is leaving and no one is dying. Say such nonsense again and I will show you that being dead is far worse than being stuck with me."
Tumblr media
Dr Kry:
He stares at you, absolutely shocked to hear you say that. How could you ever think that he wants you harm? He doesn't want to hurt you ... it is just necessary, But he doesn't expect you to understand that. Your poor, pure brain is foggy with medicine, you're not in your best state. Dr Kry would try to comfort you to the best of his ability, knowing that there is no reason to try to hide it anymore.
"Darling, you are my most beloved patient ... do you think I want to hurt you? I am doing this to keep you safe. If I didn't, who knows what would happen to you? You could run around and hurt yourself. The world is menacing and would destroy you. You are so perfect, so pure. I don't want you dead. Never."
Tumblr media
King Edmund:
He would give you a long look, hesitating on what to say. He doesn't want you to leave him, wouldn't be able to live without you. But would he rather have you dead? Yes, he would rather have you dead than sharing you with anyone. You are for his eyes only, created for him by a higher power that saw what he needed.
"You're damn right in that. You think anyone else is worthy of having you? I don't share anything else in my life, do I? No, exactly. But you don't have to worry about dying, my jewel. It's not like I'm going to let you leave?"
Tumblr media
Jerry:
Jerry would weigh the outcomes. You dead ... or you gone? The only light in her life being put out without a chance to ever return ... or alive? It's a clear question ... and a clear answer, but she won't let you know that.
"Have you gone mad? I'm not even going to answer such a stupid fucking question. I'll teach you what happens when asking such stupid ass questions."
Tumblr media
Hedwig:
The question would break her. She doesn't want to keep you locked in her room and it certainly doesn't help her case that you like to sit in the window and gaze longingly out towards the garden. She wants things to go back to how they used to be. But to do that, she would have to let you go. Would she rather have you dead? No, of course not. Not in a million years. She wouldn't be able to ansswer the question, only replay it in her head until she couldn't take it anymore. She would press her hands to her ears and crouch down, shaking her head.
"Stop, stop, stop, stop .... please, stop. Stop saying that! I don't want that! None of it! Stop! Oh, my God, stop, please ..."

CURLY
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
He seems to always knows when you're upset or in pain.
I mean, he's the captain. How could he NOT notice his beloved partner limping around.
"Did something happen? Are you alright? Have you gone to Anya yet?" - Basically, interrogating you
Made you sit down, crouching in front of you. He imminently finds that injury.
"Oh, hun, what did you do now?"
After he heard you had fallen down the steps whilst wandering, he sighed.
He simply picked you up, if you're hurt, you're not going to hurt yourself more trying to walk around.
He took you to Anya, i mean, he's strict on the roles so it's obvious he's going to have the nurse help!
He stood by you the entire time though, his knuckles nervously pressed against his lips as if you shattered a bone.
Even after bandaged up, he's pampering you and BEGGING you not to get hurt like this anymore.
"Cmon darling, I can understand the minor ones but this? You have to be more careful..."
Keeps you beside him the rest of the day, if you even move an inch he's pulling you closer with a bit of a fear you'll get worse.
JIMMY ┈┈・୨ ✦ ୧・┈┈
Didn't notice at first, he doesn't really notice when you're hurt unless you're complaining, and even then, he doesn't do much.
The second you yelped when you stood up he seemed a bit more concerned then usual.
"What? What is it?" - He tried to sound annoyed, but there was a strong sound of worry in his voice
He forces you sit down, his grip a bit too tight.
Instantly inspecting every part of your body until he found the wound on your leg.
"How the fuck do you manage to do this?" He said, a bit pissed you managed to hurt yourself this bad.
He thought it was stupid when you told him you fell down the steps, wanting to smack the shit out of you for being this stupid.
After a sigh and a mental break from how clumsy you manage to be, he stole some items from the medical room (he refuses to let anyone else touch you)
Obviously patched you up, poorly, the attempt is what matters right.
"You're lucky I kinda care about you, don't pull this shit again."
DAISUKE · · ──꒰ঌ·✦·໒꒱ ── · ·
Hes slow, lets face it. He won't notice until he SEES how bad you're limping or you openly complain about the wound
"HUHH?? ARE YOU OKAY??? PLEASE DONT DIE ON ME!!"
Takes you straight to Anya, doesn't even let you explain yourself. Looking as if he's almost in tears begging Anya to save your life.
After he finds out it's just a injury on your leg he's a bit more relieved
Still though, he's clinging onto you for life and pampering you
"Oh god, please don't EVER be that clusmy again bro..."
ANYA •☽──✧˖°˖☆˖°˖✧──☾•
She's a nurse, cmon? The second anyone has a bit of a grunt or a limp she knows something is up
"Is something wrong, dear? Did you hurt yourself again?"
She sits you down first, asking where it hurts and feeling the injury
After you explained to her you simply fell down the steps, she couldn't help but chuckle softly at your clumsiness
"Oh dear, how silly of you"
Patched you up after that, even kissing the bandages to "ensure they heal faster"
Wanted you to stay beside her in the medical room the rest of the day, claimed it was so she could make sure you didn't hurt yourself more, it was. But she also need the reassurance you werent going to kill yourself just walking down some steps.
SWANSEA ⊹˚₊‧──────‧₊˚⊹
he's got two kids, noticed the second you limped a bit into the utility room.
Was a bit ticked off you had managed to hurt yourself so badly that you were limping.
Sat you down on a stool, his arms crossed as he acted like you had just snuck out.
"What happened? Did someone hurt you? Did you hurt yourself? Do I need to get anya?"
even after you tried to convince him (he wasn't convinced) it was nothing he still questioned you
Eventually you told him, there was no getting out of it.
"Jesus, kid, you're gonna get yourself killed at this rate."
Patched you up himself, didn't think it was worth bothering anya again
Extremely gentle, though he did flick the back of your head for being so dumb

GAH THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORTTTT !!! I finished this up in class so hopefully I didn't make too many mistakes <33

⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⊰⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅∙∘☽༓☾∘∙•⋅⋅⋅•⋅⋅⊰⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅
"I promise that one day I will marry you."
Never once in your life have you forgotten the promise that your uncle Aegon had given you six years ago on the shores of Driftmark. Yes, he was drunk, and yes, he knew that your families would never let a union between the two of you come to be, but a boy could dream. At least that was how he had justified the vow later on when you had to separate the following morning.
You have always wished that your beloved uncle would fulfill his very promise one day, but unfortunately the chance got slimmer and slimmer the more years passed and the more protective your mother has gotten over you, because as Rhaenyra's first and only daughter nothing was easy.
You were born with brown curls and hazel eyes like your brothers, making the sin your mother had committed all the more obvious to anyone else, a walking reminder of her carelessness. However you were born much smaller in comparison to your brothers and even as you grew you remained petite and delicately looking, which caused Rhaenyra to fuss over you like a mother hen constantly, as if she feared you to be a porcelain doll that could shatter into a million pieces with just a touch. She certainly treated you this way.
Aegon however has always seen the watchful eyes and silent warning glances of his half-sister to be more of a challenge than an actual prohibition.
The prince had always been enamored with you, his little niece, but he has always bottled up all his hidden feelings for you within himself so it was only natural that one time where he had swallowed down cup after cup of dornish wine and you sat by him and held his hand after he had been scolded by his grandsire, the words spilled out of his mouth like a river.
He had barely been able to remember it the next morning, but as he saw the flush on your cheeks when he stood before you to say his goodbyes, he knew that you knew. It was either a curse or a blessing, but even as he had watched you leave with your mother, brothers, and a few of the servants, he had known that he would see you again one day and if he did, he would take you as his wife.
You were not sure what you had imagined when you and your family returned to King’s Landing after so many years to assure yourselves that Lucery's claim to the island of Driftmark was defined and would not be contested, but no matter how easy this task seemed to be on the first look, you quickly learned that this was not the case. Vaemond Velaryon and your great-aunt Rhaenys had also come.
However, their presence brought you less out of the concept than to see Aemond beating Ser Criston during sparring on the courtyard as if the man was nothing but a normal knight and not a loyal and trusted member of the King’s Guard. His cold look, when he had seen you and your brothers, made a shiver run down your back and a spark of fear set its roots within yourself, even if you had nothing to do with the tragic loss of his eye.
On that dark night you were with Aegon when it had happened. The older prince had drunken too many cups of wine and stumbled down the stairs that led down to the beach and hit his head. You had sat with him afterwards and watched over him, while he had clung to you as if you were the very last thing that kept him rooted to this world and that kept him from loosing himself to the darkness within his heart.
And then he had given you that promise. That one terrible promise that has been on your mind every single day, which had taken a special place in the depths of your heart. He had promised to marry you and you knew that he would do it, if you would get permission, which you doubted, however, because your mother wanted nothing to do with her half-siblings whatsoever.
You were reminded of said promise when you faced him again in the throne room after six long years; He and his family dressed in Hightower green and gold and you with yours in Targaryen red and black. The difference could not be greater and the tension that lay in the hall could be felt by everyone.
You tried to stick to your mother's words, you really did, but over and over again your warm gaze found his and every time you caught him staring right back at you, an unknown glimmer in his amethyst colored eyes, which you neither could nor wanted to explain.
However, things escalated quickly and your mother quickly pulled you out of the throne room by the arm, leaving the headless body of Vaemond Velaryon behind on the cold stone floor, for which your stepfather was responsible, the word 'bastards' echoing in your ears. It was not easy to be confronted with the truth after all these years, which your mother tried to hide so convulsively, although it was obviously in everyone's eyes and the entire realm knew the truth of your parentage.
Your shocked eyes found those from Aegon before you vanished behind the doors and you immediately knew that this was not the last time you would see him that evening- and you were right.
Your maids, who were also some of your closest friends at the same time, were currently dressing you for dinner when it suddenly knocked on the heavy wooden doors to your chambers, which still looked exactly the same before you had been forced to leave back then. Without having allowed him to come inside, Aegon stepped into the privacy of your old chambers, which were illuminated with flickering candles, whereupon the servants stopped tugging uncomfortably on your hair and stepped away from you, bowing their heads as was custom.
"You may leave us," you told the other women, whereupon they all looked at you with a questioning frown.
"But princess-" "Please, I can do it."
Neither you nor the maids knew really whether you meant your hair or the prince who stared at you without having lost a word so far, which was extremely untypical for your uncle. However, the cup of wine in his right hand was familiar and you immediately became painfully aware of how much you had missed him.
The moment the doors fell shut again and you both were alone in the room and actually stood in front of each other for the first time again in six years, a bright grin broke out on his face and he slowly took a few steps to get closer to you. "Welcome home, little butterfly."
You didn't know exactly what it was; the nickname, his voice, which had matured, or the fact that you finally looked at him again after such a long time, but you couldn't help but close the distance between you two and jump right into his arms.
Aegon was surprised for a brief moment, but he immediately returned your gesture and wrapped his arms around you as well and pressed your slender body tightly against his, burying his nose into your long brown curls, which were half put together into a braid, which was not finished, because you had sent your handmaidens out of the room as soon as you had laid your eyes on him.
He could hear how a quiet, content sigh escaped your lips, whereupon he felt himself relax in your embrace and he felt his grip around his golden cup of wine loosen slightly as if you were the sole cure for the addiction he had developed. After all these years and although you both have grown and changed, you still fit perfectly against him like the last piece of a puzzle that had finally found its rightful place.
"You cut your hair," you noticed with an audible smile in your gentle voice and you immediately snuggled closer to him as if the sole thought of being parted from him for a second time was unthinkable for you.
"And you have grown- if only a little."
You hit him playfully against his shoulder and leaned back a little so that you could look him into his lilac eyes, which you noticed no longer held the same glint as they had back then. In addition, deep dark circles under his eyes adorned his handsome face and he had become even paler, which was why you feared that you needed to worry about his health. He also looked very much tired. However, these little details did not change the fact that the man in front of you was as beautiful as he had been back then if not more.
"Still feisty, I see, butterfly."
"You did not forget it," you noticed with an almost melancholic smile on your rosy lips. Ever since you were children and a small white butterfly had landed on your head in the Godswood, which would happen two or three times more over time, he called you by the name of the animal, since you were probably just as fragile and delicate, you mused. At the beginning you did not really enjoy it, but over time you wanted to hear him say it over and over again- now too.
"Of course not. I would never forget you, my darling."
"Stop it." You looked down onto the ground so that he would not see the obvious blush on your cheeks, but he did regardless. As for you, he paid attention to everything, every little detail.
"I did not forget my promise to you either." The prince said and stroked with one hand over the length of your arm, which was covered by a silken red sleeve. Actually, you did not want to wear a red dress to dinner, as it would only illustrate the fronts between the two sides of your families, but your mother insisted on it. You personally have always preferred lighter colors.
"Really? You appeared to be very much... drunk when you gave it to me, Aegon." You carefully replied while you hesitantly grabbed his hand, the contact igniting a feeling of warmth in you, which you had been longing for as well.
"I was drunk, that much is true. However, I always am and I remember very well that I said that I would marry you."
"This was so long ago-" you said with a quick shake of the head, because you knew that time did not change anything about what he felt for you and what you felt for him. A marriage between the two of you would never be agreed to, even if you could not imagine marrying someone other than him. The hatred between the two sides of your family was just too big and your love would not mend the crack again.
"No, I am serious. Be my wife, please. There is no day that I did not think of you and wanted you to be by my side." He reached for your hands and held them firmly in his own as if that alone could convince you to marry him without further ado and preferably that evening right after having had dinner. He would not allow you to get betrothed, because then he would lose the opportunity to have the only person who has ever taken care of him and who has actually listened to what he had to say. If you were not there, he was miserable- the last few years have been proof of it.
On the other hand, you were completely perplexed and overwhelmed with the situation. You wanted him. He was the only one who had never treated you like a fragile doll or a mindless duckling, but just like a girl like any other and you liked that. You did not want to be considered weak by everyone- of all the dragons you rode Silverwing, by the gods, you were not weak. It was bad enough that you were a dragon rider and your mother did not allow you to ride as much as you would have liked.
Unfortunately, the truth was that Rhaenyra and Alicent would never agree to a union between him and you. They would rather die or burn in the seven hells and you wanted to save yourself the pain that would follow if you asked and the two older women would vehemently forbid it even if nothing spoke against it and it would actually serve to strengthen House Targaryen for future generations. Unfortunately, it was more likely that at some point he would marry one of the daughters of Lord Baratheon or his own sister Helaena and that you would have to marry Lord Cregan Stark eventually.
"You don't know me anymore. If you excuse me, my prince, I have to continue preparing myself for dinner now.”
With a jerk you pulled your hands out of his and sat down at your dressing table, trying to ignore him and push him away from you, because you would not be able to allow your feelings for him to bloom now and in the end you would have to spend your life with another. You would not be able to bear it. The prince looked at you with an expression of utter disbelief on his features, until then a flicker of anger crossed his gaze and he stormed out of your chambers without hesitation, the door falling shut so loudly that it made you flinch.
You just wanted to protect him as well as yourself.
Later at dinner you watched Aegon drowning himself in alcohol and staring at his plate without touching the food at all. Aemond, who sat on the other side of the table, stared at your siblings and you at all times, not letting you out of his sight, until it suddenly escalated and a single toast made everyone become aware of how fragile the bond that held your family together actually was.
Shortly afterwards, your mother informed you that you would return to dragonstone the very next morning and you felt right in your decision to have pushed away the man for whom you had deeper feelings for. It was better for both of you. At least that was what you kept telling yourself.
You told that to yourself when you came back to your rooms and found them empty and dark, you told yourself when you sat alone in front of the fireplace and loosened your braids, when you undressed, put on a light nightgown, and you kept repeating it to yourself when you climbed in bed at last and slowly began to fall into a peaceful sleep. You would not be able to bear the pain that would follow if you allowed yourself to actually be with him.
Aegon still felt the taste of dornish wine on his tongue and its effects clouding his senses when he stood in the middle of the night in the darkness of your bedchambers and stared down at your sleeping form in your bed, the moonlight that fell through the windows illuminating your soft features like you were the very image of the Maiden. He was slightly shaky on his feet and he was well aware that he should not be here, but he just could not control himself. Your rejection before dinner and the way you refused to speak a single word to him while you had sat beside each other had robbed him of his last bit of sanity and he just had to know what you felt.
He had a simple plan; slipping inside your rooms unnoticed, tainting your honor and showing his mother the proof of it in the morning, because then she would have to agree to a union just like his half-sister, since you would ruined for any other man. His plan had been so simple, he would just have to tear the blanket right of you, push your nightgown up to your hips and take his pleasure, but when he approached the edge of your bed and saw how peaceful you looked like sleeping, he could not bring himself to do it.
The prince felt a lump forming in his throat, his heart becoming heavy and he could not help but kneel on the floor next to the bed, while he buried his face next to yours in the pillow in the hope that you would not notice the tears of shame burning in his eyes. You should just sleep on and never find out that he was even here. He was a monster for even thinking of ruining you.
He sobbed into your plush pillows, his hands fisting the silken bed sheets tightly when he suddenly felt something stirring beside him on the mattress, but he did not raise his head just yet. He did not want to look you in the eye after what he had originally come for.
"Uncle? What happened?"
Your gentle voice was like a balm for his soul, but he still continued to quietly sob into your pillows. You did not even ask why he was here, but what had happened. Even now you took care of him, although you had wanted to distance yourself from him a few hours ago for a reason that he simply could and would not understand.
"What have I done? Why are you pushing me away from you? What has changed?”
You quickly rubbed the remnants of sleep out of your eyes and you began to caress his back with your small hands, which made a shiver run down his spine and the tears on his wet cheeks slowly started to dry because no new ones fell, at least not right now. Like always, your touch calmed him.
"Why are you here?" You asked him instead of giving him an answer to his previous questions, because you could not tell him the truth. To see how the man you loved cried on the edge of your bed because of something that you had done when you had actually just wished to protect him from that very pain was making your heart shatter into a thousand pieces. You did not want to feel this pain nor did you want him to experience it. What have you done?
"Don't go," he murmured and finally raised his head slightly again to look at you with his reddened, swollen eyes, even if the room was dark and both of you could barely make each other out in the dark.
"Don't leave me a second time, please. Not again... don’t do this to me."
You sighed and sat up in bed, because this was exactly what you had not wanted to happen. His sensitivity was no secret to you and you knew how much you meant to him and how much he meant to you. Your mother had decided that you would return to dragonstone and you could not argue against her decision after what had happened today at dinner. Your house was more fragile than ever and if the others were to find out what you felt for each other, it would be the stone that would set a giant chaos into motion. It would be the end of Haus Targaryen as you knew it.
"Go away, Aegon," you murmured and sat down in such a way that your knees were pressed against your chest and your arms were wrapped around your legs as if you wanted to give yourself a hug to comfort yourself.
“No, please ... darling, don’t," whimpered the older prince and climbed next to you on the soft mattress, desperately searching for your gaze and your closeness. He wanted to pull you into him, love you and never let you go again even for a small second, because you were the only thing in this world that gave him something akin to a glimmer of hope, a light in the deepest darkness of his broken soul.
"Butterfly…"
"Don't call me that!" You suddenly spat at him loudly, which immediately made him wince and made hot tears burn in his eyes once more, threatening to spill over his pale cheeks.
You have never been angry with him before. Never.
"I love you! Don't you see that? I love you so much, but I cannot live with the pain of loving a man that I cannot call my own.”
That was it. The words and the truth were out and he had heard them. His suffering broke your heart, but he deserved to hear these three words from you at least once. You loved him, you truly did, but a miracle would need to happen so that you would be able to live out your love. It was not his fault, nor was it yours, as it was the hatred that has been burning between your mothers for years- a hatred that would probably never vanish.
Aegon was speechless. For a moment he just shook his head in disbelief, which made his white curls fall over his forehead, but it did not prevent him from looking into your beautiful face and seeing in the desperate look in your dark eyes that you were serious. "But I already am yours, am I not?"
"Aegon..." Your shoulders sagged even further down and you pushed your legs even further against your upper body, the sight of it making him miserable, because he did not want to imagine what would have happened had he actually went through with his plan and he would have taken you without your consent and made you his without warning. You would probably have shouted and fought back and he could never have forgiven himself for it and you would never have forgiven him either. No, he was glad that he had not done it.
He carefully approached your trembling shape on the bed and he tenderly wrapped his arms around you and pressed you against him as firmly as he could. Now you started to sob into his shoulder bitterly and he started to slowly rock you back and forth, while he buried his nose into your brown hair like he had done earlier, because your scent always seemed to calm him down, but your hair was also a sign for everyone else that you should not exist and that you, being a bastard, would be monstrous by nature, but he could not care about that in the slightest. You were beautiful on the inside and outside and one day he would prove it to you- perhaps even tonight.
"Marry me?" Back then it was a promise, now it was a serious question and he meant it with every fiber of his body. You were meant to be his wife, even if your love would be a scandal in the eyes of the gods, but he has never been a religious man anyways.
"I can't, uncle, I can't."
Aegon started to place soft and slow kisses on the top of your head. He began his exploration on your hair, then wandered down to your forehead, brushing his lips over your eyebrows, over your cheeks, which were wet from the tears that you shed for him until he reached your own lips, which looked so soft and inviting that he could hardly hold back.
"Marry me." He whispered against your lips and he looked for your gaze to see what was going through your head. Your eyes had always been the mirror to your soul.
His voice, his pleading tone, his warm breath that stroked your face, and the sudden closeness to him was just too much for you.
You do not dare to say it, but a simple, barely noticeable nod on your part was enough and the prince kissed you as if his life depends on it, his hands wandering over every centimeter of your body while he gently pushed you to lay on your back and he hovered over you, not separating his mouth from you for even a split second.
The rest of the night you both drowned in a sea of desire and pleasure, years of wanting and yearning coming to its climax. At some point, his hands had sneaked under the fabric of your nightgown, undressed you, while you had returned the favor at the same time, whereupon he had not lost any time to show you what it would mean to be his wife and you enjoyed every single second of it.
Neither Aegon nor you really listened to the argument that followed the next morning after your maid had told Rhaenyra who she had found laying next to you in your bed and what had to have happened at night based on the red stain on your sheets. Insults got thrown around, voices became louder, but you merely snuggled closer to your lover, who protectively wrapped an arm around your waist and leaned his head to yours while a feeling of happiness flooded him.
You were his now and neither his mother nor yours could ever take you away from him ever again. It was too late for that now.
Love was often said to be the death of duty and Aegon Targaryen would not give a single shit about duty for the rest of his life if it meant he got to forever hold you in his arms like this and love you like you deserved.

op how could you leave out the fact that they are the gold standard of found family tropes?
They all start out as loners who never work with anyone, and a guy who had attempted to catch all of them at one point of time in episode one and they never stop bickering and getting on each others' nerves but they also would fight and kill and die for each other.
Just this totally dysfunctional disaster of a group of the most skilled people that found each other and love each other and have shown time and time again that they'd burn the world down for their stitched together little family and I'm not crying YOUR crying 😭😭😭
god every time i watch leverage i'm just reminded that like. they didn't HAVE to put in the amount of effort that they did! they didn't NEED to keep nate's storylines about his addiction and his son and his father consistent. they didn't NEED to stretch out the parker/hardison slowburn so elegantly. they didn't NEED to give tara goddamn cole a character arc despite her being in the show for like half a season!
but they did!! they did all of these things!!! and they also dedicated entire episodes to team-building (the rashomon job), they also kept sterling consistent, they also made the goddamn RUNDOWN JOB like. this show did not have to be as good as it is!! but it really is just SO GOOD

Hi, could you write something about Aegon burned and having difficulty walking and his wife taking care of him and him being ashamed and at the same time needy and only wanting her? sorry, English is not my first language
Oh god anon you really know how to tug on the heart strings. And now unfortunately all of you will have to learn about my love for angsty shit, so buckle up lads.
My first thought is how Aegon's trust in anyone must be completely shattered? His own brother burnt him and tried to kill him. When he wakes up and the maesters are leaning over him he immediately panics and tries to get away. They say they're trying to help him and try to give him medication but he freaks out every time because how is he supposed to trust anyone ever again?
Of course the moment he wakes up someone runs to tell you, so you get to the room pretty quickly. You see Aegon weakly trying to push them maesters away, begging them not to hurt him.
You tell everyone to stand back and then you walk over to Aegon, taking his hand and pressing a soft kiss to the top of it. Aegon relaxes the moment he sees you. He trusts you, you're the one person he knows would never hurt him.
For the first few days the maesters have to explain to you how to treat aegon's wounds because he wouldn't let anyone else come near him. You do it without complaint of course, and you try to spend as much time as you can with him. You lay next to him in bed and read to him and let him hold your hand and he's just so so thankful.
I think that the shame and avoidance will come once he starts improving actually? Once he needs less milk of the poppy and he can remove his bandages and he has to start walking again. The first time he sees his face in the mirror he cries. He just stands there and silently cries because he thinks he looks like a monster. He has no idea how you managed to stay by his side when he looked like this.
He starts to feign sleep every time you come to check on him, not moving until he's certain you've left the room. He doesn't want you to see his face free of bandages, doesn't want to make you have to look at him and keep up a conversation and care for him.
He lets the maesters tend to him then, and maybe even asks the servants to try and keep you busy and prevent you from seeing him as much as possible. You notice this of course, but you also know that he's in a really fragile state and you don't want to push him out of his comfort zones.
Things really start to get bad when it's time for Aegon to walk and try going up stairs and try climbing into a proper bath. All of that is so so painful and he struggles so much. The servants and maesters try to help him, but he flinches and begs them not to touch him every time.
He's already in so much pain and he doesn't know who he can trust and the maester's touch is always so cold and harsh and it hurts even worse. The maesters don't know what to do because he very clearly needs help and also needs to practice walking again but he won't let anyone touch him.
Deep down, he desperately wants you. He wants to lean against your arm and feel your hand on his waste. He knows he could lean on you and you would help him and he'd even get a kiss when he did well.
But he can't ask you, can't even ask you to see him because he's so scared that once you see how scarred his face is, you will refuse to see him anymore.
While your marriage to Aegon was originally an arranged marriage, you two fell in love quite quickly and Aegon very quickly become dependant on you. So much so that Aegon is widely considered to be the king who loved their queen the most out of all the previous rulers.
So now, to not have your support and to not see you and to be in so much pain? He's struggling so so much.
Maybe one of the maesters eventually have to tell you? They can see that Aegon is not making progress and they fear he may hurt himself if he continues to try and walk on his own or dress on his own or even just bathe on his own.
Your heart breaks when the maester tells you, and you immediately go up to Aegon's chambers. You were originally going to wait until he called you, but after hearing that you know that you have to go to him now.
You find him standing next to his bed, trying to muster up the energy to walk to his cupboard and change clothes. When he sees you, he turns his face away from you, telling you to go away because he looks like a monster.
You just walk right over to him, gently lifting his head and pressing a soft kiss to his unblemished cheek. You tell him that you love him, and that you're his wife. He needs to let someone help him, and you promise him that you have absolutely zero intention of leaving or betraying him, he is your husband, you only want to help.
He kinda just... falls into you? Like he just stops trying to hold his weight and you have to catch him. You slowly lower him down onto the bed and go fetch his clean clothes from the cupboard. You undress and dress him, pressing soft kisses to unburnt skin and telling him how proud you are of him and how strong he is.
From that day onwards, you don't leave Aegon's side while he recovers. You help him as much as you can, going on slow walks around the castle together and keeping his burns clean.
No one else can touch him, in fact no one else can even get close to him. If you vouch for someone and tell Aegon that he needs to trust this person and let them touch him, then Aegon will let them as long as you stay close.

"I won't let anyone hurt you, you're safe with me" I imagine this as Sebastian saying it to Reader. But the thought of the reader saying it to Sebastian after he wakes from a night terror (in this scenario, they have escaped Urbanshade) is very sweet to me
True to their word, they got you out.
You and Sebastian were finally free from Urbanshade's horrors.
Innovation Inc. managed to extract enough data from all the loose assets you've given to him to formulate an escape plan.
Thank god you have connections to the labs, otherwise you would have been just as doomed as any other EXR-P.
But you were more relieved that Sebastian didn't have to stay trapped in that place anymore. He didn't have to move from place to place and fight to survive constantly.
Even better?
There was actually a way for him to become human again.
Urbanshade deemed him too far gone in his mutation to reverse the countless painful surgical processes they put him through....but they were nothing but liars who didn't see the point of investing in the resources needed.
They could have done it all along.
Innovation, on the other hand, got every bit of data on the experiments that they needed, going right to work on him as soon as you both arrived to the labs.
Obviously, he resisted at first...as all the trauma he experienced from before didn't go away instantly.
He was afraid of another surgery, being touched and injected with foreign substances and restrained. Not to mention the heavily potent anesthesia he needed since he's developed such a strong immunity to it.
But you convinced him that if he hoped to become human--he needed this.
It took a week or two, with him being in and out of the operating room and you trying to pass the time by chatting with your colleagues about exposing Urbanshade's secrets to the world..but eventually they did it.
They gave him legs again. HIs ear fins were now back to being human ears--and anything else that made him look like an anglerfish was removed and replaced with stitched flesh. His third arm was amputated but preserved for future study.
Somehow, they even got his size to shrink. No longer was he a gigantic beast, but instead an actual human-sized person who got to sleep on the bed beside you.
The only things left of his previous self were some of his sharp teeth (which he didn't mind keeping) and his skin still bearing a somewhat light blue tint to it, although it was not as pale.
It was incredible.
He cried the first time he saw himself.
He felt..human, again. And you were happy for him.
Although...
While he was getting better physically, no amount of surgeries would be able to get rid of the emotional pain Urbanshade and the criminal justice system had put him through.
From getting an unjust sentence for something he didn't even do to screaming in horror at his monstrous reflection for the first time...all of those events still like to replay in his mind.
Not to mention he conditioned himself into never letting his guard down for any reason.
He'd wake up if he heard somebody so much as cough in the next room or squeak their shoes a little too loudly.
While the hardest part was over, it was still going to be a long and agonizing recovery process for him.
Tonight, however, Sebastian was sound asleep, whereas you were sitting at the nearby desk, pencil scratching at the notebook in your hand. You were just trying to brainstorm ways to get Painter and Eyefestation out and away from the Blacksite.
Of course those two were nothing short of a nuisance during your many runs to escape with the Crystal...but Sebastian considered them friends, as they were the only ones who could communicate with him and never tried eating him. So you did feel a little bad for leaving them behind.
You were sure Eyefestation was put out of her misery, knowing that she couldn't swim very far up due to the pressure changes in the ocean--plus she wasn't willing to let go of her vendetta against humans.
Innovation could very easily turn her into a normal shark again who could still speak telepathically...but they couldn't cure her hatred.
For all you know, she could want to kill Sebastian now simply because he was (mostly) back to being human.
Painter, on the other hand, could have escaped with you if you had more time. He deserved a better life besides wasting away mining robux and being tethered to the IDS. He always talked about Sebastian's promise to get him out, too, so you wondered if he felt betrayed and lied to...
Until you recently learned that Innovation figured out a way to communicate with him and help throw more dirt on Urbanshade via an encrypted channel. So there was a chance his AI could be transferred over to this facility if his physical body was destroyed.
That gave you hope to see him again.
But until then, they told you to look after Sebastian, and that was fine by you. He was all you cared about right now.
"GAH!"
Snapping your head over, you could see the man jolt upright all of the sudden, eyes wide as he clutched at his chest, breathing hard. You noticed the sweat dampening the front of his shirt, and closed your book. "Seb?"
"Shit. I was...am I...a-am I still...?" He mumbled to himself, bringing a trembling hand to his forehead, before he squeezed his eyes shut. "Please don't be there..please, please, please, god.."
To his relief, he felt nothing but the tiny bumps that formed a stitch beneath his black bangs. But even so, his fingers kept grazing over his skin and ears, wanting to be certain those things weren't there anymore.
"It's okay. You're still at Innovation. My buddies got rid of them."
Feeling the mattress dip, Sebastian looked to see you sitting on the bed, too. You looked concerned, but not overly worried--as this has become a rather normal occurrence ever since he finished those rounds of surgeries.
"I know that, but..I've had them for a long time." He lightly scoffed, trying to calm himself down, but you could tell he was still shaking and very overwhelmed by his nightmare, tears stinging his eyes. "I..I-I can't just...forget about it like it never happened, you know. Like those bastards didn't.....gh.."
He got choked up, and you opened your arms to him, waiting to see if he was willing to accept your offer. Being a giant anglerfish, he never wanted anybody to touch him, and you understood perfectly why.
So for him to curl up into your embrace was a bit of a surprise, but you held him closely; not too tightly so he was uncomfortable, of course. "I won't let anyone hurt you. You're safe with me." You consoled, feeling him rest his head on your shoulder, sniffling quietly.
A few tears dampened your sleeve, but you didn't mind them.
It made you realize that he probably took his humanity for granted--now there was no longer a huge size difference between you two.
Ever since escaping the blacksite, he's become a bit more attached to you, wanting to constantly be near you. Even back then, he's been friendlier to you than most expendables.
He'd never outright say your presence comforts him. But you could tell through the small gestures and "exceptions" he makes for you that you're the only good thing to enter his life at Urbanshade.
"You're okay, Seb. We're both okay now."
"Y-Yeah, I know..I know.." He muttered, slowly trying to wriggle out of the hug, to which you let him go and allowed him to sit up. "Sorry you gotta put up with me being like this. Thought I would've been over it by now.."
Despite his words, he was still physically shaken up, the nightmares not so easily leaving his mind.
"There's no rush to "get over" any of this." You frowned a little, putting your hand on top of his as a comforting gesture. "I sure as hell haven't. Every time I think I can get some sleep, I find myself getting chased by those stupid mutant fish over and over again.."
Sebastian just scoffed. "You think being chased by one is bad? Try becoming one and having to live through-"
But he stopped himself after seeing the look on your face, as well as you removing your hand and getting up. "Sorry. I'll..get you some water-"
"No. Don't leave. Please."
You blinked in surprise as he grabbed at the hem of your shirt with lightning speed, although when he realized you were staring...he quickly let go and coughed awkwardly into his fist.
"I know I'm not the only one who went through some messed up shit. I don't know how you dealt with it."
"What?"
"..dying over and over again. I would've gone fucking insane if I had to live through that."
"Well, I almost did...but it was worth it. Because we're both free now." You offered him a reassuring smile. "And technically Painter, too. We'll have to talk to him sometime."
"Yeah? Think he'd wanna chat with me after I basically lied to him?" He muttered, sounding uncertain. "I promised him that we would get out. And he could paint all the landscapes he wanted to."
"My colleagues are still figuring out how to unhook him from the IDS without further corrupting him, but they're making good progress. He'll be on his own little computer in here in no time."
"That's good. I just hope he can forgive me. I really only asked him to stall.."
"I'm sure he'd understand, Seb." With a sigh, you picked up your book. "He knows we're safe and he's giving Innovation whatever they need. So I wouldn't worry."
Sebastian simply nodded, looking to his hands--specifically to the ring imprint that was still on one of his fingers, frowning a little as he stared at it.
Even though his humanity was restored, he had already been declared dead a long time. Everyone he knew and loved was convinced that he was a guilty man who deserved execution. It didn't matter if they caught the actual criminal or not.
He just couldn't return to normal life after all he's been through. After all he's seen.
No.
But he could start over with you.
It was funny to think that you were once an expendable prisoner he glossed over, assuming you just wanted to buy his wares and march onwards to your next death--to which he'd laugh in your face and show you the document you already had memorized.
Now, you were the only person he could trust. The only person he was willing to be vulnerable around.
Because you helped free him.
You were the reason he was able to become human again.

Pillow talk between Aegon II and his wife
Tumblr media
(drabble)
words: 877
warning: explicit language, fluff
You were lying top off Aegon. His arms were around you. His eyes were closed, but you were sure he wasn't asleep- he was playing with your hair.
Your head rested on his chest, and your hand gently caressed the side of his body.
It must have been past midnight already.
The only light in the room came from candles that were almost out. Even the moonlight didn't shine in through the open windows.
You felt happy to have him. You kissed his chest, and Aegon began to run his other hand along your arm.
You'd had a long evening. Aegon's hard kisses had softened- he didn't want to hurt you.
You tried to think of something else as your mind drifted again to the way he had kissed you and held you all night long.
You wanted more, you always did when it came to Aegon, but you weren't sure your body could take another round.
"Aegon?" you said calmly.
Aegon didn't open his eyes, but he murmured.
You focused on the first thing that would take your mind off Aegon's body and... his cock.
"Do you think fishes drink water?"
Aegon's hands stopped moving over your body. "Fishes?"
Your question was clear. "Yes?" You said.
"Isn't it... meal?"
You lifted your head from his chest and looked directly at his face. He had opened his eyes. Aegon was looking at you with an expression that said he wanted more, too.
"Aegon, they are animals."
Aegon raised his eyebrows in surprise.
It was hard to believe he was a prince who had been taught lessons for as long as he could remember.
"Animals? Then I think they drink?"
You threw your hair back. "Water?"
"No, my love, wine."
You patted his chest and laughed.
He watched your laugh with a crooked grin.
Since you married, it was always difficult for him to wait for night during the day. He would want to go to his room and feel every inch of your body again. He would want to hold your chin and tell you to open your eyes while you closed them in pleasure. He would want to feel his body tremble every time you moaned his name.
He never wanted the nights to become days. You were the only thing that made his life better.
"What?" you said with tired eyes and a smile as you watched him looking at your face.
Aegon's smile grew. "Nothing."
He loved you.
He was afraid to love you. It scared him to put you at the center of his life.
But he loved you deeply.
He didn't want someone to fix him. And you didn't want to fix him. He would never be an ideal prince like Aemond, but neither of you cared.
You two were the most compatible couple of the seven kingdoms.
He was thankful that he had a life to share with you.
He even thought of going to the Sept with his mother.
While his mother thanked the gods for their health, he would kneel beside her and thank the gods that you had accepted him into your heart. And... that he could fuck you every night.
He kissed your cheek firmly. "Let's sleep. I'm worried that if you don't get enough sleep, you won't be able to speak properly tomorrow."
You muttered something under your breath and buried your nose in his neck.
"And make sure you rest. I don't want Daeron to make fun of us again if you can't walk tomorrow." He said, unable to stop laughing.
You blushed and lightly pinched his arm. "Like it's my fault."
Aegon placed a kiss on your shoulder. "Of course, it's your fault! I could have kept my hands off you if you weren't so delicious."
You lifted your head from his neck.
When Aegon saw your flushed face and strand of hair sticking to your forehead from sweat, he stroked your cheek.
Contrary to what you expected, he didn't say anything to embarrass you again.
“I've never loved anyone as much as I love you.”
a/n: I love him so much you don't understand

Blind Love
Clarisse La Rue x Fem!Reader (happy Ending)
When you return from a mission, hurt and partially blind, Clarisse finds herself growing close to you. But the day you can finally see again she grows nervous that you won't recognize her voice.
Requests are still open
Warnings: Blood, aggression
Tumblr media
The first time everyone saw you again, you were bleeding from the eyes, crying hysterically while blindly walking through the camp woods with your friends on your shoulders.
You were a quiet and sweet girl, always with your two other friends, but even though you only had been at camp for a few weeks, you were sent on a quest.
You didn't have time to remember people, to memorize their faces, you hoped to do that when you returned but unfortunately, you were attacked moments before entering the campgrounds for your return.
Chiron ran to you, or at least that's who you thought it was, you couldn't see and all you could do was keep limping with your friend on your back.
There were three of you, but Milo sacrificed himself to give you guys a chance. So you ran with Lila who hit her head, on your shoulders, until something sliced your eyes. You stumbled, screaming in pain and gripping at your eyes as you felt the blood travel down your face.
Whatever did it to you, didn't want to kill you fell on the ground for Lila, throwing her over your shoulders once more and continuing to try and go in the direction of the camp.
You walked to the healing infirmary with two people guiding you and eventually sat down on a bed while many voices yelled in the background.
You felt hopeless. You were hopeless, especially when they called out that Lila was dead.
They covered your eyes with bandages, and you couldn't help but dampen them with blood and tears.
Someone squeezed your shoulder and you only straightened your back and stayed still. “They will heal with the medicine we will provide, but you need to keep them covered … if they get infected then it's over.” A boy with a gentle voice told you.
Holding your hand to help you get off the bed.
They wanted to set you in your bed and allow you to finally relax but you refused. You wanted to sit in the chair on the porch of your cabin, if you couldn't see nature you wanted to at least feel it.
And that's what you did, almost every day. You couldn't do anything else, you wouldn't talk to anyone, too devastated about what happened to your friends to try and make more. Without sight, you couldn't train, walk around, or explore.
So you sat and simply breathed.
But it wasn't till one day when a camper named Clarisse made the wrong choice at the wrong time.
She didn’t know you, not many did, you were quiet before and now you were like a ghost. And talking to you did not sound appealing to her.
So when she was walking past a camper that unfortunately left your cabin she decided to trip them because her siblings next to her dared her to.
But then she heard a deep voice call her, Chiron.
“Clarisse, we talked about this.”
Clarisse let out a sigh and turned around to look at him as her siblings ran off, “About what?”
“About your abuse towards other campers, just because your father is the god of war doesn't mean you have to always prove to him you can be aggressive.”
You didn't know this girl, but you thanked her for saving you from Chiron. Chiron had been visiting you daily to try and convince you to do things, but you always whispered a no.
“You need to be friendlier … help others.” He spoke once more, an idea brewing in his head “Which is why I want you to help Y/n … bring her to the lake”
You let out a sigh, your eyebrows furrowing together in annoyance, now you couldn't say no to him.
Clarisse looked at him annoyed, her arms crossing and she rolled her eyes. Chiron waved her to follow him and she did, approaching you as you sat there.
“y/n, you need to get up. You like sitting in the ocean and it's time to move.” Chiron spoke, he didn't want you to think you had a choice.
“I can't see, why would I want to go to the lake if I can't even see it.” You mumbled looking in the direction you thought he was in. “You still have a few other senses you can use to enjoy yourself there.”
You sighed once more and turned your head away from him “Again. I can't see … how you plan on getting me there.”
Chiron let out a chuckle ‘Well this is where Clarisse will come in clutch.” Clarisse looked at Chiron with anger, she did not want to help you, she had better things to do than this.
Chiron grabbed your arm and helped you walk to Clarisse and gave her your arm.
When he went to leave he placed his hand down on her shoulder “You can't hurt the blind … it's unfair.”
While he walked away he chuckled “Maybe you'll learn a thing or two about being kind, Y/n is a good one.”
Clarisse looked at you, her tongue poking the side of her cheek in annoyance. When she thought you’d say something to her, you didn’t.
“Are we going to move?” you finally spoke up, your arm frozen in her grasp. “Oh…” Clarisse mumbled as she led you down the steps and the dirt paths.
She didn’t mind the silence, she found herself enjoying the company without feeling the need to always be talking.
Every once in a while, she found herself looking at you, how you still moved your head around as if you were looking for things to see, but instead it was only the sounds. She took notice how every once in a while you'd stumble and your grip would tighten on her arm. She noticed all these things and enjoyed them.
When you finally arrived at the Lake, Clarisse picked a good spot and sat you down and then sat right next to you.
She never really liked the water, always finding it aggressive, and not in a delightful way, and she hated how the sand always got caught in her hair. But she took notice of how your shoulders softened at the familiar sounds that you had kept yourself from for weeks, and she found herself smiling.
“You like the water?” Clarisse asked softly, finding herself caring if you were ready to talk yet or not. “Yes … I grew up by the ocean, it makes me think of better times.” You mumbled, your fingers digging into the sand.
You hate the sand, but you still find yourself touching it trying to remember those times you played with it when you were younger.
Clarisse looked away from you and back at the lake, she wanted to hate Chiron for making her do this, but she couldn’t.
After a few moments, Clarisse looked back at you and memorized your face, she wondered what your eye color was and if they matched your personality. “Do you want to … touch the water?” Clarisse thought for a moment, looking around at things to do.
You had been sitting there for a while, soaking in the sun, she wasn't sure if you were bored. You nodded your head and stuck your arm out for her to grab, and she quickly took your hand, pulling you off the ground and slowly walking you toward the water.
The waves were small, making a limited amount of noise, but the scent still wavered in the air. You walked closer to the water, Clarisse held a loose grip on your hand not wanting to hurt you, and then you finally touched the water.
It was refreshing, almost felt like a new start to you, as if you were finally willing to try and live your life instead of sitting around all the time.
You inhaled softly as you stood there, and Clarisse did the same, finally looking away from you and out at the water. Watching the campers row small boats and splash each other with the water. For once she didn't feel the anger she constantly felt, a part of her wanted to thank Chiron, but instead, she silently thanked you.
After an hour you finally voiced that you were done, so Clarisse started to lead you back to your cabin. But instead of the usual route, she took a longer path, wanting you to spend some more time walking instead of going back to your cabin where you would sit back down.
You knew what she was doing, you had noticed the difference in paths and how long they took. A part of you wanted to ask why but you kept quiet.
Eventually, you got back to your cabin and she helped you to the door, you carefully opened it and felt around, following the string some of your younger siblings had set up for you to follow.
Clarisse watched as you went inside, she knew you couldn’t see her standing there, so she took her time leaving.
Every day she would go back to your cabin, saying it was Chiron who was making her help you but in reality, she just wanted you.
You started to open up to her, showing the lively personality that you had lost during the attack, and Clarisse loved it.
Things were perfect for both of you until it was the day to get your bandages off along with the stitches for good. While on your usual walk, you told Clarisse and for a moment you heard silence.
“Aren't you excited for me?” You asked softly squeezing her arm gently and you heard Clarisse hum softly “Yeah –”
“Will you be there for me?” you asked once more and you heard a soft hum from Clarisse again. You didn't think anything of it, but deep down Clarisse was upset. What if you saw her for who she is, an ugly person inside and out?
Later that day you went to the infirmary, sitting down on the bed with your foot gently shaking at how excited you are. Will walked over to you and started to unwarp your face and you heard the door open, figuring it was Clarisse you asked someone “Is Clarisse here?”
Will looked behind him and saw her, but before he opened his mouth Clarisse shook her head at him, staying near the door she waited. She didn't know why she didn't want to stay with you, she was always curious what your eye color was, but she still had that unfamiliar feeling of embarrassment.
“No … she uhm isn't,” Will answered you, and he noticed how your shoulders visibly fell in disappointment. A feeling that maybe Clarisse didn’t like you flooded your mind but you quickly tried to brush it off.
Will finally had the bandages off and started to unstitch your eyes, right before he finished Clarisse had left, not wanting you to see her.
You quickly opened your eyes, looking around, everything was so bright. You smiled and thanked Will, walking towards a mirror and pausing in fright right in front of it.
There were scars left behind, you were disappointed, you felt ugly and all you wanted to do was talk to Clarisse, but you had no idea what she looked like.
“They'll disappear eventually don't worry Y/n” Will comforted you and you only nodded and smiled. When you walked around Camp you asked some campers where Clarisse was but they all either said they didn't know, or it was best if you didn't know.
After an hour of searching you went back to your cabin defeated, it was nearly noon and campers were leaving to go get dinner, but you weren't feeling hungry.
As you grabbed onto the railing, a habit of yours two hands covered your eyes which made you let out a yell.
“Sorry!” the voice responded, and you immediately knew who it was. You turned around and saw her in all her glory, Clarisse.
She was pretty … really pretty. You furrowed your brows together, forgetting why you were upset for a moment until you remembered.
“I don't want to talk to you,” you spoke before turning around and walking up the stairs. Clarisse was quick to follow “Wait!” she grabbed your shoulder and turned you towards her, her hand running down to hold on to your arm.
She stared into your eyes for a few moments, memorizing the colors and the way your pupils changed sizes when you looked at her.
“Stop looking at them,” she looked puzzled for a second “At what?”
“My scars,” you answered as you turned to look away, a part of you didn't want her to see you looking like this, “Why? They look badass” she mumbled, bringing her hands to gently touch them, which for a moment startled you until her fingertips started to feel nice against your skin.
“You weren't there,” you mumbled quietly looking back at her, “I was … just didn't want you to see me.” she spoke softly back, her eyes still memorized by you, “But Will said-”
“I told him to lie,” she responded quickly, her hand finally dropping, leaving your skin feeling colder than before. “Why?”
“I just … was feeling insecure, wanted to look my best for you.” She spoke with a smile, and you took the time to lock away the memory of what her first smile looked like. “And why would you want that?” you asked even softer, allowing Clarisse’s hands to travel down your arms towards your hands.
“Are you blind?” she asked in a bit of an aggressive voice, which startled you for a moment, but you did tell her you wanted to see all of her one day. “I like you.” She admitted shamefully, her hands trying to reach for your hips.
While she waited for a response, she prayed to any god or goddess to help her, she wanted this to work out.
“Do you think I would have stayed around to listen to you tell me about cartons if I didn’t like you.” She spoke up once more which made you smile, and Clarisse took notice of how your eyes and nose scrunched together when you smiled at her.
She liked it.
You both moved closer, not realizing it at first “I like how you aren't disappointed in how I am … or what my hands have done in the past.” she mumbled before she quickly kissed you. Her hands tighten around your waist.
Through each kiss she mumbled another thing she liked about you, trying to convince you more that she liked you.
“You're the person I want to crawl home for.” She admitted as she pulled away from your lips, her hands still in the loopholes of your shorts.
You smiled and brought your hand up to touch her face, and you took notice of how she flushed a darker red at the touch of you. “I like you too Clarisse,” you smiled as you kept your eyes connected to hers.
For a moment you forgot about everything until you heard a voice in the background, it was Chiron clearing his throat, “You ladies best get to dinner.” He let out a soft chuckle as he walked away.

The Fate of the Furious
ALIVE: Deckard Shaw x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: She thought Deckard Shaw died - yet luckily he didn't. After joining the crew on the rooftop, he had some explaining to do.
Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I may have made while I wrote this short story.
A quiet thank you for my friend who watched these movies with me during a movie night. I love you <3
Warnings: swearing, mentioned violence and death
•••
"Oh, this will be good." Roman said to Tej as he poked - or rather punched - his arm. Both of them looked at the scenario in front of them, suddenly forgetting about their bickering over Ramsey.
Perhaps if things went differently, they'd stop arguing to quietly laugh at Shaw carrying a baby - only silently, because they perefer living over dying. Shaw with a baby was something they couldn't imagine at all, yet the thing Roman pointed out wasn't the baby. No, it was Shaw himself, who clearly overestimated his self-worth if he showed up there after the stunt he pulled.
And just in time, the girl whose feelings were very obviously hurt because of the said stunt noticed Shaw's arrival - and she looked like she's seen a ghost.
"No way, man. I really don't want to see this." Tej answered unsurely, leaning back in his seat.
"You won't want to miss it either. She'll kick his ass, that's for sure." In no other scenario would Roman dare to say that - the guy might have super hearing or something.
And just like that, the show started.
"You dick!" the shouting was so loud everyone's gaze was on her, but then - after understanding the situation - they decided to look away, not wanting to become a target of her wrath. "You absolute fucking asshole!"
"Come on, sweetheart, don't curse in front of the-"
"Don't you act like you suddenly give a shit about someone!"
"Oh, he fucked up!" Roman laughed in his seat.
"He fucked up big time." Tej agreed, and it was very rare that they did.
"No way I'd be him right now..."
Her expression was a mixture of anger and hurt, and she very clearly didn't want anyone else there to intervene - no man would dare to either way and they wouldn't succeed in doing so without getting a punch to the face.
But Letty, understanding her feelings because she was the only one she had talked to about them, did her best to diffuse the situation - in front of the child at least.
"I'll take him, don't you worry." she took the infant seat from Shaw, who had the expression of betrayal on his face.
"Thanks for your help, now why don't you go and talk this out?" if Dom's voice was anything to go by, he secretly very much enjoyed seeing Shaw's face as his son, the safety blanket he could hide behind was taken from him.
"Yeah, why don't we go and talk this out, Shaw?"
Ramsey gasped behind them and Dom patted Shaw on the back, sending him the luck he'll need. Roman poked Tej on the arm again, Hobbs chuckled from not so far away.
Deckard Shaw must have fucked up big time - he himself knew that too. It's been months since she called him Shaw. He was never Shaw, only Deckard or maybe if he was lucky enough, Deck. But he was never ever Shaw.
"All right, let's talk this out, sweetheart."
She hugged herself with her arms, not giving him the opportunity to hold onto her hand. Deckard didn't try to do so though, he understood where the line was and he didn't want to overstep it.
They walked to the other side of the roof, away from their gazes and voices, and only then did her eyes start to water.
Deckard wasn't good at apologies, but even he knew that's the time for one. She's hurt and rightfully so, but he didn't mean to hurt her at all. God, he'd go to Hell and back for her and he knew she'd do the same - they knew more than a few things about the other and they liked the other even if they don't like many people.
But now she's sad and hurt - and angry, because of Deckard and he didn't know what he should do to make it better.
"Sweetheart, I-"
"No, don't you fucking sweetheart me." Sweetheart was the petname Deckard saved for her and didn't use it on anybody else. "I thought you died, do you know how that feels? I thought you fucking died!" she grabbed onto the railing to try and regain her strength. "Do you know that I cried for you? I fucking cried for you. I almost went after Dom by myself to hurt him like he hurt me and Dom is my friend!"
He put his hand on her shoulder and she let him, but she didn't look at him at all.
"And then you just call me to tell me everything is okay, I- I don't know what hurt more: that you didn't tell me or that you don't trust me enough to tell me stuff like that."
"I trust you. I trust you and I don't trust anybody else." Deckard touched both of her shoulders to turn her towards him.
He expected her to be angry or sad, he even expected a punch to the face, like when she playfully hit him after a way too bad one liner on a mission. But she didn't do any of that.
No, she was crying. And if Deckard was bad at apologies, then he was even worse at comforting crying women - especially someone he genuinely cares about.
"Why didn't you tell me not to worry?" her voice was high pitched, the kind Deckard hadn't heard before. She never cried. He hadn't seen her cry.
He made her cry.
"Because I needed her to believe it."
It was a poor excuse. He knew it - she knew it.
Yet it was still better than not saying anything or him just saying a 'fuck you'.
"So you're okay? Not even a small cut?" she asked looking at his face, trying to find some scars.
"You know me, sweetheart." he smiled and she was the only one who has ever seen him smile. "And I know you too, so if you'll punch me please tell me so I can get ready."
She chuckled. "Because?"
"Because your punches are really fucking strong."
That was the kind of compliment Deckard Shaw gave her, the kind only she recieved and no one else. And she smiled at that too, even if her eyes were still teary and the pain and fear didn't fully go away.
"I don't want to punch you."
"Really?" he had a suspicion that she really wanted to.
"Really. I just got you back and you want me to hurt you straight away?"
"I'd let you and I'd deserve it too."
He really meant that, she thought as she examined his face, trying to find some dishonesty. She couldn't find any - but to her surprise, his eyes were soft. There was some softness in there, the kind no one's ever seen, because they didn't deserve to see it.
"No, just..." she wiped away the tears and pushed his hands off her shoulders as she leaned against the railing. "I just want you to promise me that you'll tell me- the next time, because in a job like ours there will be a next time for sure."
"Yeah, I promise."
She smiled softly, her wrath slowly disappearing and tiredness took its place. She looked tired.
"You know, we never really talk about it, but just so you know, you mean a lot to me." she said quietly, as if she's confessing something she's not ready for yet. "And I mean it. I really do. No joke or anything."
"I know." he really knew, and he also knew that not many people would do that for him. "And I'd kill for you."
"I know, you already did." she chuckled. "And not even once."
"They deserved it."
"In your eyes everyone deserves to die who looks at us the wrong way." she said remembering all the times Deckard decided to pull out a gun to shoot someone who was unfriendly. "Actually, I'm surprised Hobbs is still with us."
"I promised to fight him one day."
"Yeah, I'm not surprised about that at all." she looked at the others who sat around the table talking. "You'd win."
"I know I would."
"But he'd kick your ass too. He asked me if I want him to do that after the stunt you pulled. I said I'd think about it."
"And what do you think?"
"You'd deserve it, but I'm leaning towards a no."
Deckard laughed and so did she. It was good to laugh with him again.
They stayed quiet after that. She didn't know what else to say or rather how she should talk about the things she should definitely talk about. She thought of the last few hours and days, how Letty was there for her after Deck's fake death - and what they talked about. How she regretted not telling him the things she wanted to.
"I didn't mean it like that." she spoke up after a while. "When I said you mean a lot to me." she had his full attention, she knew it and felt it in his gaze. "I meant that I think about you as more than a friend."
She continued to look at her friends again, watched as they laughed and talked. Dom had his son in his arms and Roman and Tej were arguing again. She focused on every small detail instead of looking Deck in the eyes.
"I know what you meant sweetheart. That's what I meant when I said I'd kill for you." she had to look at him when his hand was on hers. "I just can't let them see me as a softie, can I?"
He was teasing her and he was grinning, and in that moment for her he was the most lovable, playful asshole in the whole world.
"You dick!" she shouted with a laugh as she hit his arm and she felt the others' eyes on herself. "You come back from the dead and you act like this? I should let Hobbs kick your ass. Being soft with me is the least you can do to apologize."
"I knew you wanted to hit me."
She hit him on the arm again - this time the both of them were grinning like idiots and she wouldn't have it any other way.
"Of course I do. This is the worst love confession I've ever seen."
"But you wouldn't have me any other way."
"That's right, I wouldn't. I'd be way too bored without you in my life."
This time he caught her arm before it could land and his hold on her wrist was gentle. That hand could kill and punch - and he looked damn good when he did that -, but it would never ever hurt her. Not intentionally.
They both leaned in to kiss the other - and they most likely argued about who had the balls to initiate the first kiss later. It was a great kiss, a damn good one. The one what's full of passion and emotion, the one that made her stomach tighten.
"I love you, you idiot, but if you act like you're dead in front of me ever again I--" he kissed her again to shut her up.
"I love you too."
"So much for not being a softie." she giggled as she hugged him, hiding her face from everyone - because she was grinning like an idiot in love.
"You won't let this one go, will you?"
"Not at all." she answered. "By the way, just so you know, Dom wasn't the only one who called your mother."
"You did not call my mother."
"I didn't want to punch you, but she'll definitely scold you for me."
She smirked as she saw his expression. "You're one evil woman."
"But you wouldn't have me any other way." she quoted.
On the other side of the roof the table was set a long time ago and everyone was waiting for the two of them to join in so they can start to eat. Although watching the drama before eating wasn't too bad either.
"You know, as much as I dislike him, I'm happy she's happy." Ramsey said after the pair kissed.
"I was right man, I really didn't want to see that." it was Tej's turn to poke Roman, who only stared at Deckard and her in disbelief.
"I expected more drama." Rome said with clear disappointment in his voice. "And why is she in love with the guy? What does he have that I don't?"
"Why don't you go ahead and tell that to him yourself. I'm sure he'd happily answer you with a punch." Tej teased him with a grin. "Go ahead boss, ask him."
"I hate you all..."

Professional Attitude
Finding a female reader who's on break at her job crying her eyes out and then all of a sudden an alarm on her phone goes off and she immediately stops crying and then introduces herself and asks them how she can help them like nothing's wrong.
Requested Characters: Odin, Thor and Susanoo.
Notes: Please take this as an apology.🙏
Tumblr media
Odin
Not gonna lie, this man is impressed at your ability to control your emotions, especially at work. (Congratulations you made Odin proud.👏)
But seriously though, he is worried to a certain degree. Yes, even he can display emotions.
He might not show it, due to his stone face and reputation, but he thinks you should take a break.
He's even more surprised that you went all this time with a job. You're literally with a Chief God. Why are you working?
He's going to take your phone, decline it, and take you back to his palace.
Your days of working and taking calls are over, now that you're with him.
Just sit back and relax, and try to ignore his nosy birds.
"Rest. You need not to go back. As long as I am with you, you'll be fine."
Thor
He doesn't see the problem at first. I like to think that he was raised into not showing his emotions, since it will be seen as a weakness.
However, overtime he does realize such thinking should be abandoned at certain times.
He believes that you should take a break and should not overwork yourself. Even warriors like him relax when needed.
He waits for you to take the call before comforting you, and assigning the work to someone else.
He may not be good at comforting you, but it's better than doing nothing when je knows you are hurt.
He holds you as you cry and complain about your struggles. He's impressed how you kept it up for so long.
He plans to gave a "talk" with your employer, but doesn't tell you. What he's focused on right now is comforting you.
"Tell me everything. I'll listen to whatever you have to say."
Susanoo
He's ready to clash blades with whoever you are on the phone with. Pray you're fast enough to dodge his blade before he cuts your phone in half.
You have to get off the phone to calm him down, because no one is allowed to make his beloved stressed.
He sits you down to explain to him all the things you have been going through and even lectures you on why you didn't tell him.
You try to reason with him, but he refuses to listen! (He's more stubborn than other beings.)
He believes that even though you should work, you shouldn't push yourself too hard to the point you repress your emotions.
You're going to be watched like an eagle by him, in case you ever go back to work, or try to escape his line of sight.
From now on, you're no longer going to work even if you try to convince him. They won't do anything to you, for he is known as the Godslayer.
"Just remember that I'm here for you, don't let anyone treat you like some kind of slave ever again."

We met again
Tumblr media
synopsis: as centuries went by, you grew to care for each other, not caring however to label your relationship anything except for 'companions'. Your paths didn't always converge, yet no matter what somehow you always end up together.
pairing: Dainsleif x fem!reader
tw: somewhat hurt/comfort, situationship/companionship, reader is a survival from Khaenri'ah and with a curse like Dain, initially was written during the Chasm release, so some things can be a little wrong lore-wise
word count: 4.5k+ words
author’s note: it was supposed to be the first part of the ex-lady-in-waiting AU for Dainsleif, which I planned all the way back in 2022 when the Chasm was released, but never actually finished the draft until now. I won't promise anything more of it (even though there were ideas), since my interest in the man is almost non-existent now, but it was fun to finilly let this one out.
Tumblr media
Dainsleif coughed again, hand flying to press to his chest. Damn, that energy outburst did have a toll on him, a pretty bad one. He barely managed to hop around the stone fragments floating around the ruins, making his way out of them. It was hard to walk, legs slowly dragging him away from the upside down structures.
If he was to throw away all that bravado and reserved appearance he had put up to reassure the twin and Paimon, he was not okay at all. It was difficult to focus, vision blurry at times, breaths took some effort to push in and out of his aching chest and the burning sensation remained, if not intensified. His body screamed to stay near that fountain, to get that very much needed rest and relief from the curse, but he couldn't allow himself to, at least not for long. He needed to push forward, even with the smallest amount of energy remaining. At least to leave the Chasm - those dark splotches of something were not doing anything good to his already exhausted organism.
As he was about to leave the cave - above which the ruins were placed - to roam the endless routes of Chasm until he found the exit, he spotted a very much familiar figure just at the beginning of one of those routes. Even with his eyes veiled in haze he could never mistake you with anyone else.
You, who always managed to find him, no matter where he was or how much time passed between your meetings. It was truly a miracle, or it might've been fate, as you two shared the homeland and were among the ones with consciousness still.
Back then, when Khaenri'ah was existent, before the calamity occurred, he hardly encountered you. Maybe a handful of times, when you escorted the princess to watch the Royal Guards train - she found it fascinating but wasn't allowed to visit much. You were one of her ladies-in-waiting, but since there was always a group of young women you easily mixed with them, and the Captain didn't really pay attention to the bunch of giggling and fanning girls. Maybe it even annoyed him, just a little bit, having to clear his throat to call his own subordinates for discipline.
When the wrath of the Gods was cast upon his homeland, Dainsleif gave orders to protect the people as he himself rushed back to the Royal Palace. He didn't want to remember what happened there, he really would rather forget about it, but the curse of immortality that was cast upon him would never let him. That pain that he had been suffering with for five hundred years had never dulled, staying fresh and aching like a freshly torn wound.
It was not so long after he parted his ways with the first twin when he met you again. He couldn't tell the exact time of your first proper interaction, but it didn't really matter. When he bumped into you though, you both were in an equal state of shock. Right away it was impossible to say that something was wrong with you two, with a ridiculous amount of clothing you both wore, but the feeling of similarity striked.
You sensed each other's curses, a shiver running down your spine and the twitch of his lips being the only things giving it out.
That first meeting was a bit awkward, he was not gonna lie. It was clear that there were too many questions each wanted to ask, but the lack of prior closeness to each other made it difficult. Eventually you settled on sharing your last memories of Khaenri'ah to figure some things out and on an understanding that now there were two people alike: cursed and homeless, as the doom had been brought both on you and your nation.
At first Dainsleif was very against the idea of you following him around: he was extremely aware of his mission and the last thing he wanted… well, at that time he wasn't sure if it was 'you getting in the way' or 'you getting hurt'. You were no fighter and from what he managed to figure out, in your wanderings you didn't try to learn how to defend yourself. Though, as time passed, he was surprised by how well-versed you were in other areas, such as cooking, treating wounds, earning money and many others he never paid attention to, too focused on pursuing his goal of stopping the Abyss Order.
But during your first meeting he couldn't help but think - and eventually tell outloud - how fragile you looked to him. You were simply a lady-in-waiting, you obviously hadn't been taught the things he had, and it was an issue. He had no idea how you managed to survive for so unbelievably long, but here you were, and it would've been better if you simply continued so, not mingling with his affairs.
Right then he learned that you could be quite persistent. It didn't show only in the way you called him out back then, but also in the inevitability of reunions, no matter how many times he tried to avoid you.
In the end, he gave up, didn't matter it took years to. After all, you had eternity to…live, or rather till the moment your souls are completely eroded.
He took it upon himself to teach you first defending and later on fighting, when you traveled together before your paths would part yet again.
You couldn't follow him to the portals (not like he'd ever let you, it was hard to admit, but you two developed a sense of more than an initial tolerating each other), so sometimes he had to leave you. Neither of you dwelled on it much, even if it could take a lot of time to meet again. The shortest was a couple of weeks, the longest once stretched to over a decade.
You didn't lose time meanwhile. That biggest break, for example, you had used to settle in Liyue to gain money and do some savings for the future - it was much nicer to book rooms in a guest house to spend the night than staying out in the wild. While neither of you minded the latter, the first still was better. You were very lucky that the currency and prices didn't change much over time, so now you had quite the savings still, occasionally taking commissions here and there.
As centuries went by, you grew to care for each other, not caring though to label your relationship anything except for 'companions'. You'd scold him, he'd huff in response. You'd patch him up and try to force him to rest, he'd shrug your attempts off the majority of times and carry on. You'd make a snarky remark about something, he'd let you hear a rare chuckle. You'd come and find him again and he'd go alongside you once more.
Just like now. Without muttering a word, you simply made your way to him, wrapping one arm around his waist and throwing the other over your shoulder - a motion you practiced to perfection and could do in your sleep. Dainsleif was silent too - he was too tired to try and explain anything. In fact he was at that point of exhaustion where he sent the chivalry out of the window and let his body weight gradually lean on you.
"Hold on for a little more, Dain, I'll get you out of here," was the only thing you said and he could simply nod, closing his eyes and entrusting you fully to lead the way.
Luckily, there were no obstacles, you managed to avoid them all. The only thing indicating something was wrong with the path was your arm squeezing tighter around his middle and the feeling of being lifted in the air and brought back to the ground when you took leaps. A couple of times he heard you mumble something under your breath about spotting Black Serpent Knights in the background, but that was all.
The sudden sunlight irritated him, closed eyes squeezed tighter, and he almost cursed. Hours underground made him sensitive to the bright shine cast from above and he wanted to crawl back to the darkness again. Not to mention his mind still chanted the mantra of returning to that miraculous fountain, where he could receive a sliver of peace.
But your body, pressed to his side, made its job to ground him and push some more to continue. Once out of the Chasm completely, you finally opened your mouth again, to let the words of encouragement wash over him. By your brief explanation he grasped that you had set up a camp not so far away from where you currently were and that you were taking him there to check on him and spend a night. Then there was something about him getting better, so you two could depart to a fitter place to stay, with actual rooms and beds. At the words of not letting him go this time his mind finally slipped into slumber.
The next couple of days were hard. Dainsleif was in and out of consciousness, however you never failed to be close whenever he was back in. Sometimes he spotted you sleeping, back just a little bit slouched and chin resting on your chest. He could see it rising and falling with some difficulty as well - it made him think if what had happened in the Chasm managed to reach you out there too and whether you were alright. At those times he let his gaze travel all over your face, noting the crease between your brows, the tight line of your lips, stray hair framing your face.
The Twilight Sword couldn't deny it - you were a beautiful woman. Even centuries of wandering didn't make you lose your grace and stature of a fair lady, suitable and trained to be near the heiress to the throne as a personal companion. It was almost saddening you didn't wear dresses and skirts anymore - for obvious reasons of course. Your body was fully clothed just like his, safe for your hands and face.
To think that a lovely creature like you fell victim to a cruel fate and the will of gods… How miserable.
You once told him that you stopped dwelling on what you'd become - the common people of your homeland were suffering much worse, completely losing their minds and reducing to creatures scared of their own reflection. He couldn't disagree with you, but he couldn't agree either - probably having a mind that could still erode was more horrific.
You had left that conversation at that, however. Now, still in a tent, you were holding a completely different argument.
"Dainsleif, if you are feeling better, we must use that renewed energy to go somewhere peaceful so we could rest properly, not to run off straight to the claws of the Abyss!"
"We will not, I will," oh how many times he saw you roll your eyes, rubbing your temples, it felt almost intimately familiar at this point.
"Listen, Captain, if you want to die then go ahead, but you are going to die if you go! A couple of weeks wouldn't do any harm. What can a bunch of losers do right after one of their grandest plans went south again.
'Captain' huh, you usually used that one when you were particularly annoyed with him. Next was the 'Twilight Sword', which indicated you pretty much wanted to spit venom at him. What a relief it didn't happen often, hearing you say his name was much more comforting.
"They can do everything," he argued, sitting on the ground in front of you and inspecting his cloak. "Their numbers are unknown. They should always be under the watch."
You sighed, readjusting your pose with a knee bent, elbow pressing to it and a fist supporting your cheek. Your star-like irises stared right at him and he knew you were quite disgruntled by his stubbornness.
"You are a soldier right? Even soldiers have their vacation leaves, why don't you consider this as one?"
Oh, that's another thing that became common, that very proving point of yours. He kept silent, having no desire to repeat the words he was always telling you and had said to the Traveler right before they parted. The notion 'vacation' didn't exist in his vocabulary.
You sighed again at the lack of response, redirecting your gaze outside. As he figured out, you had found an abandoned warehouse just where a current from the waterfall not so far from Liyue Harbour divided in two and traveled to the pools of the Lingju Pass and the Qingxu Pool. Just in case you had cleared the area and set the tent inside said building for better protection. The man had to admit, from the first few travels you shared your skills in everything regarding survival had gotten much better. He noted how it made him feel almost proud.
"Speaking of soldiers…" your voice caught his attention again, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Did you see the Black Serpent Knights down there? Or what's left of them, I mean. I spotted them a couple of times and thought that they would attack us, however they simply stared and let us go."
Were you trying to distract him from leaving or were you truly curious? In any case you deserved the synopsis of the events having occurred three days ago.
So he told you. About how he had exited the portal, how he had realized it was a whole network, how he had met Traveler and Paimon, how they had joined their forces and continued exploring the strange cave where you found him. He gave a detailed description of the upside down ruins and the Abyss plan but a brief summary of the effects the Abyss device had triggered and the toll it had on his body and everyone else Khaenri'ah related down there.
"Oh, so that was why I suddenly felt so ghastly," ah, it was as he feared, you suffered it too, yet it seemed not to the same extent as those who were very close to the source.
"Don't tell me that was the reason you decided to check the Chasm."
"Yes, that was exactly the reason. Eight against two chances that if something abnormal happens, you are going to be there. See, I guessed again. And now I know that you are pretty battered for sure. You are not going to stand me up this time, we are going on a vacation."
He knew you meant it differently, but somehow your phrasing made him feel a little bit bashful. Maybe that little quiver of his heart was enough for you to persuade him to finally discuss the possibility of him willingly following you wherever your choice of spending that vacation was.
"I promise you, you'll love it," you were laying out the map with a happy smile on your face - the annoyance was replaced with excitement and the ex-knight couldn't believe him agreeing would make someone feel so giddy. It was kind of cute.
"So… where is that place?" he bent over the map when you motioned him to. His brows furrowed when he followed the direction of your forefinger.
"I apologize, but this is out of the question. It's almost on the other side of Liyue! How much time we'll waste on-"
"About 6-8 days," you interrupt him, "depending on how fast we move. No worries though, I've already done it and found two nice routes where we don't have to climb the mountains!"
He narrowed his eyes and glanced at you.
"You thought everything through, didn't you?"
"I sure did!" Damned Celestia above did you look proud, eyes shining and lips stretched in a victorious grin. "Not to mention I did some research, met with the Community Leader and got her permission to stay over whenever we'd like to. So," you tapped your finger on the location, "we are going and you have no way to get out of it. And if I spot an Abyss portal, conveniently appearing just for you to jump in, I swear, I'll tie you up with your own cape and drag away like a sack."
Oh yeah, you were persistent indeed. Sometimes Dainsleif thought that maybe helping you to train to the state of physical power you now possessed was a mistake. But at the same time it really amused the blond - the way you could handle him and boss him around at times was definitely much better than having to look after an obedient and weak court girl.
This time, he thought, maybe he must give in. After all, you'd been putting up with him for so long without much complaint (save for times when you argued about his health or small meaningless quarrels about this and that), giving you a green light was the least he could do. Besides, you put effort into your deed, made sure that you and him could take a break to restore your energy and spend time together…
Ah, the last thought was probably undue, especially in the context Dainsleif imagined. Heaving a sigh, he took a moment to clear his mind, weigh all prons and cons, and finally give you his verdict.
"Alright… we will go to the Qingce Village for that 'vacation' thing."
"Finally."
Tumblr media
The only word Dainsleif could describe the scenery before his eyes was peaceful.
Squirrels chasing each other in the grass, boars rubbing their sides against the trunks of the trees, paying little attention to you two, finches jumping across the roads and redbill pelicans watching over the fishermen to find a perfect moment to strike and steal fish. A soft tune played on the flute had been accompanying you ever since you had set foot in the village, and the man couldn’t help but watch you somewhat fondly when you started walking two steps ahead of him to have room for an impromptu little dance.
Aside from the evident content etched in your features, he noted the grace of your steps, the echoes of the long-forgotten movements incorporated in your dance. It almost felt that, should you put on a dress and take his hand, you’d be back in the ballrooms of the royal palace, twirling to the music of the orchestra. But he didn’t dare to reach his hand - dancing was never his strongest suit.
Not like either of you really danced much at the events back then.
Eventually, passing the fields and many cute-looking houses, you led him up the road, ending at the big pavilion. There, in the middle of the vast space, an old-looking woman stood. Her wrinkled face brightened upon spotting your two approaching figures.
“Ah, young miss, you are back.”
“Good afternoon, Granny Ruoxin!” You beam with a smile - another useful skill Dainsleif had lost along the way of his travels. “May you and your village stay prosperous.”
“Thank you, dear. I’m happy to see you again - the villagers still remember you fondly for all the good deeds you did when we were in need of help,” she slowly walked closer to you and gently patted your hand, to which you nodded, while your companion could only stare at you. Just how long ago did you start planning your stay here if you had already gotten in favor of this village’s people?
Then the old woman directed her attention at him. For a second Dainsleif tensed up, awareness striking him - his uniform was…old-fashioned if not weird. But then he immediately remembered how you forced him to change into a more suitable clothes you’d gotten him beforehand, dressed his arm in bandage just to be safe and covered the mask on his face with the grown blonde hair. A sigh of relief quietly rustled between his lips.
“And that’s, I assume, the man you were talking about when we were discussing your possible vacation here? You have quite a husband, my dear.”
Here it goes again, and no matter how often it happened the Twilight Sword was never mentally prepared. On the surface though he was as stoic as ever - if people assumed you were a couple, you simply went with that assumption. Long ago you came to have a mutual understanding and thus agreement that it’d help to save mora (getting one room instead of two, discounts for couples, etc). Besides citizens, but mostly elderly villagers would fawn over you two, loving the presence of two cute and polite young(-looking) visitors, who wouldn’t be against helping around in exchange for a place to stay or something else.
It appeared this time it was going to be the case as well.
“Ah, yes, let me introduce you two. This,” you gestured at the woman, “is Granny Ruoxin, she is the Community Leader of the Qingce Village. And this is,” you stepped closer to wrap your arm around the man’s, and he had to summon his willpower not to shiver from the intimate contact,” as you’ve guessed correctly, my lovely husband, Daniel.”
“I see, I see,” she nodded with a soft smile, which made her wrinkles even more pronounced, “It is nice to finally meet you, Daniel.”
As you carefully nudged his side with an elbow and gave a “be polite” kind of look, Dainsleif did his best to muster a small courteous smile - more a quirk of the lips.
“The feeling is mutual, lady.”
The following evening was spent settling in the house of the miller of the village - a sweet middle-aged woman who was informed beforehand and gladly offered you quite the spacious room she held specifically for guests. Being left to your own devices, you and Dainsleif put your things away in a wardrobe first, and then, checking the closed window and door, you pushed the man to sit onto the bed to check on the state of his wounds. At this point, he didn’t even try to protest - silently letting you lift his shirt, even using his own hand to hold the hem to his throat while you were treating the almost healed patches of damaged tissue. When, after finishing up, you offered him to catch some sleep while you’d be out assessing the changes that might’ve occurred since your last visit, to which he shook his head strongly. If you were out of the house - so would he. You understood where it came from - left alone on unfamiliar territory with people who could ask quite many questions nearby - you’d too rather be close to a person who knew how to deal with all that. It’s just, that in that situation you were that very person.
And so you left on your journey to explore. You had had time to tell him a little about the village during your trip, so Dainsleif wasn’t completely clueless - yet seeing everything with his own eyes was still the best way to gather information about the place and its inhabitants. He soon came to realize that the place seemed to be a retirement spot for the elderly, who were enjoying the slow running of their lives, tending to the terraced fields, which he couldn’t recall seeing anywhere before, and watching over their grandchildren, whom - according to your explanation - parents sent off on a small vacation away from the city.
He mostly kept quiet if someone stopped you in your tracks and engaged in a small conversation, only occasionally nodding or giving one word answers. You almost found it charming how he unintentionally took a step closer to you when it happened and gave you a wary glance, clearly not sure what to do with himself. You had no idea what he was like back in Khaenri’ah, but even then you doubted he had been a social butterfly, and was even less so now.
“Ascetic,” you smirked, when the elderly couple who’d stopped you to offer a snack resumed their walk up into the village. The way he rolled his one visible eye and huffed didn’t escape you and only lifted your mood more. Dainsleif could argue that he was a reserved man all he wanted, it didn’t change the fact that over time he grew prone to your teasing remarks and tended to give you reactions a ‘reserved man’ would hardly give.
It was nice.
After a couple of hours loitering around not the biggest village in the world, you climbed a small, more or less secluded mountain and, perfectly hidden from the village people beneath, settled down on the grass-filled patch to marvel at the stunning view ahead of you. It would be some time before the sun began to settle, so you had an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and hills, blooming flower fields, simply dressed people moving around, followed by dogs or lazily chewing domestic animals. A gentle breeze was rustling the grass blades below and even more so where you two sat, adding to the serene atmosphere. Caressing your faces it was playing with the man’s blonde hair - dirty at the moment, and you made a mental note of making him wash head to toe now that you had a place to stay for a while.
Sensing your gaze, Dainsleif turned to look at you, putting an arm behind to support his body. That made you aware that you were staring at him, and by the small smirk tugging at his lips, you were hit with realization - probably just a tiny bit your stare was longing.
Damn the happiness of seeing the idiot alive after a whole year of no news from each other.
“So…” you cleared your throat, forcing yourself not to look away, “your thoughts on the place?”
Before giving you a proper answer, Dainsleif hummed, breaking eye contact to look around once more (you immediately forced the air stuck in your chest out). After a couple more seconds, the sapphire eyes returned to you.
“Still think this ‘vacation’ is pointless.”
At that you sighed, not entirely surprised, yet still feeling slightly dejected. It was wishful thinking to assume that a stubborn man like your companion would find the idea pleasing - but he wasn’t running away yet and that was something worth a small internal celebration. Which you might have already had a couple of times. In your head.
Suddenly something bumped your knee, and a glance to the side left you with widened eyes - Dainsleif had shifted from his previous spot closer to you, now with two hands firmly planted behind him to lean on and your knees touching. His gaze was directed right ahead.
“But the place is…agreeable. Especially since I am here with you.”
And just like that the scenery got so much brighter as his words were washing over your very being. He appreciated your company, and, looking back at how guarded he used to be with you, the notion warmed your heart, sending pleasant tingles through your body.
“Yeah…” you nodded, - more to yourself than to him, - and a grin returned to your face as you mirrored the way he was sitting to turn your face to the kind rays of the sun. “I like it here with you too.”
You did not see that, but Dainsleif broke into a small smile - the first in a long time.

summary: What happens when someone saves you from almost dying?
Tumblr media
"Told you to not wave that gun around" Kyujin said cleaning the blood off your hand
"I didn't know it had ammunition" You said "God it hurt like hell i swear i thought i would die"
Kyujin raised an eyebrow, her expression cold as she wiped the blood with a cloth. "You should've known better. Guns aren't toys." Her voice was low, laced with a hint of annoyance, but there was something else there, something that betrayed her worry.
You winced, your hand still clutching your side, the pain sharp and biting. "I didn’t even mean to pull the trigger. It was just… a reflex. And I didn’t think it was loaded. Who keeps a gun loaded like that?"
"People who know what they're doing, and you're not part of that group." Kyujin said sharply.
"Look i'm sorry" You said
"Yeah your ass should be sorry" Kyujin said as she finished cleaning your hand, her eyes still cold but lingering with a trace of concern. "You’re lucky it wasn’t worse. That shot could’ve hit anything—your heart, your lungs."
"I get it" You said
"You don't. And won't until you kill someone or yourself." Kyujin said
You flinched at the harshness in Kyujin's voice. It hit harder than the pain in your side. You knew Kyujin was right, but the weight of her words felt suffocating.
“I wasn’t trying to hurt anyone,” You whispered, your voice shaky. You let your head fall back against the wall, staring up at the ceiling as if the answer would reveal itself there.
Kyujin exhaled slowly, her breath heavy with frustration. She sat down beside you, looking at the wound. "You're lucky. It’s not deep, but you need to get that patched up before it gets worse."
"I'll be fine," You muttered, not wanting to admit that you were scared, not just from the pain, but from the reality of what you did
"Stop lying." Kyujin said
Kyujin reached into her bag and pulled out a first aid kit. Her movements were deliberate, efficient, almost too calm given the situation. "Take your shirt off," she commanded, her voice leaving no room for argument.
You hesitated, your cheeks flushing with a mix of embarrassment and vulnerability. "Do you really have to-"
"Now, Y/n," Kyujin cut you off, her eyes sharp. "Or do you want to risk an infection on top of everything else?"
Grumbling under your breath, you complied, wincing as you pulled your shirt over your head. The sight of the wound made your stomach turn. It wasn’t as bad as you thought, but the dried blood and the raw edges of the graze were enough to make you realize how close you came to a real disaster.
Kyujin didn’t say anything as she got to work. The silence between you both was heavy, filled with the unspoken tension of the moment. The sting of the antiseptic made you flinch, but you bit your lip to keep from crying out. You didn’t want to give Kyujin the satisfaction of knowing how much it hurt.
"This is weird" You said
"Don't act like i haven't seen you naked before" Kyujin said
Your cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red. "That’s not the point. This is… different."
Kyujin rolled her eyes, her focus unwavering as she cleaned the wound. "Different how? Because you’re feeling guilty this time?"
You groaned, your head falling back again. "Do you always have to be so blunt?"
"Do you always have to be so reckless?" Kyujin shot back
"Do you have to be so rude?" You shot back
Kyujin paused, her hands hovering over the bandage she was about to apply. She looked up, meeting your eyes with a mix of exasperation and concern. "You think I’m rude? Fine. But next time if you shoot yourself accidentally I'm not helping you."
"Whatever" You mumbled
"Don't 'whatever' me. I'm younger but I act like an adult not you." Kyujin said
You let out a frustrated sigh, but there was a part of you that knew Kyujin had a point. Your reckless nature had always gotten you into trouble, and yet Kyujin was always there to pick up the pieces. That thought made you feel guilty all over again.
"I don’t need you to act like my mom," You muttered, trying to deflect the vulnerability you were feeling.
Kyujin didn’t react immediately. She simply finished securing the bandage, her fingers lingering a moment longer than necessary, almost as if she was checking to make sure you were okay. "I’m not acting like your mom. I’m trying to keep you alive. Don’t confuse the two."
"You do act like a mom though" You said
Kyujin’s expression softened for a moment, though it quickly shifted back to her usual tough demeanor. "Maybe I do. Someone has to look out for you when you keep making stupid decisions." You didn’t respond right away, the silence hanging heavy between you both again. You couldn’t help but feel a surge of gratitude mixed with embarrassment. Kyujin had always been the one to steady you when you spiraled, and you hated feeling so dependent. It made you feel weak.
"I’m sorry," You said quietly, your voice barely above a whisper. "I didn’t mean to put you in this position."
Kyujin looked up, her gaze piercing. "You say that, but you keep doing the same shit over and over. When are you going to learn?"
You took a deep breath, your fingers playing nervously with the edge of the blanket you were sitting on. "I don’t know. Maybe when I don’t have you to help me anymore."
Kyujin’s eyes softened, but only just a little bit. "You’re not getting rid of me that easy." She stood up, packing the first aid kit away with swift movements. "But I’m not going to be here to patch you up every time you screw up."
"I get it," You said, your tone quieter now. You looked at the bandage on your side, feeling a mix of frustration and gratitude. You weren't sure if you were more frustrated with yourself or the way Kyujin always seemed to know exactly what to say to make you realize how reckless you had been.
Kyujin paused, then looked back at you. "Next time, I’m locking up all the guns. You’re not touching anything without me, understand?"
You let out a soft laugh, though it lacked humor. "Yeah, I understand." You looked up at Kyujin, feeling the weight of your unspoken bond between them. "Thanks, Kyujin."
Kyujin’s eyes softened for a moment, her usual sharp edge replaced by something warmer. "Just don’t make me regret it," she said, before turning and heading toward the door.
"I won’t," You said quietly, watching her leave. You leaned back, closing your eyes, the pain in your side still present but somehow less consuming. It was strange, how Kyujin always knew how to make you feel better, even when you didn’t want to admit it. You sat there for a moment longer, the silence of the room settling around you. Your hand instinctively went to the bandage, checking to make sure it was secure. It was a small comfort, but it was the only one you had right now. You could still feel the weight of the gun in your hand, the shock of the trigger pulling itself, and the pain that followed. The reality of it all seemed surreal, like it had happened to someone else
Just then Kyujin walked back into the room Kyujin stood in the doorway for a moment, watching you with a look that was unreadable. She had gone to grab something from her bag, but now, seeing you sitting there, she paused.
"I thought you might need this," Kyujin said, breaking the silence as she walked over with a glass of water and a small pill bottle.
You looked up at her, her expression softening. "You don’t have to keep taking care of me, you know," you said, a hint of guilt creeping into your voice.
Kyujin ignored the comment, setting the glass down in front of you. "You’re not getting rid of me, Y/n. Just take the damn water."
You sighed, but took the glass and drank from it, feeling the cool liquid soothe your dry throat. You swallowed the last of it and glanced back at Kyujin. "I’m really sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
Kyujin didn't say anything for a moment, her eyes narrowing as if she was thinking about what to say next. Finally, she sat down next to you, her voice quieter this time. "I know you didn’t. But you always do this. You rush into things without thinking."
"I’m impulsive," You admitted, looking down at your hands. "I know. I just… I don’t always think things through. And sometimes it feels like it’s the only way to feel in control. But then I screw up, and you're the one who has to fix it."
Kyujin’s gaze softened slightly, though there was still a faint edge to her voice. "It’s not just about fixing things, Y/n. It’s about you putting yourself, and others, at risk. You're better than this. You don’t need to keep trying to prove something by getting hurt."
Your breath caught in your throat, and you looked away, your gaze distant. "I’m trying. I just don’t know how to stop. Sometimes it feels like I can't control it… like it’s too much, and I do something reckless just to… escape, or feel something different."
Kyujin studied you for a moment, then reached out, placing a hand on your shoulder. "You don’t have to keep running, Y/n. You’ve got people who care about you, whether you realize it or not. And I'm not going anywhere."
Your eyes stung, your chest tightening with emotion you hadn’t expected. You swallowed hard, nodding. "I know… it’s just hard sometimes."
"I get that," Kyujin said quietly, her voice softening. "But you don’t have to do it alone."
You didn’t answer right away, but after a moment, you allowed yourself to lean into Kyujin’s side, the warmth of her presence calming the storm inside you. It wasn’t a perfect fix, and you knew there was a lot to work through, but for the first time in a long time, you felt a small sense of relief. Maybe, just maybe, you didn’t have to fight everything by yourself.
Kyujin’s arm wrapped around you, a silent gesture of support that spoke volumes. The weight of the world didn’t seem as heavy when someone else was there to share it, and for a moment, you allowed yourself to let go of the constant pressure she always felt to be strong, to have everything under control.
Just as Kyujin wrapped both of your arms around your waist you winced. "Oh sorry" Kyujin said
"Sorry for ruining the romantic moment" You teased
"Dont." Kyujin said with a smirk "Romantic moment? What did you mean by that?" Kyujin asked
You raised an eyebrow, your lips curling into a playful grin. "Well, you know… with the whole 'I’m here for you' thing, and the arm around my waist, it kind of felt like a scene from one of those melodramatic romance movies."
"We are not having those lovers in danger moments." Kyujin said
"Unfortunate" You said with a smirk
"What do you mean?" Kyujin asked
You smirked, your eyes twinkling with mischief. "I mean, I think we could pull it off. You know, the whole ‘tragic hero’ thing? You, the brooding protector, and me, the reckless one who needs saving. It’s practically a perfect plot."
Kyujin rolled her eyes, though the small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth betrayed her amusement. "You’re delusional. I’m not playing your damsel-in-distress fantasy."
"Who said anything about a damsel?" You teased, nudging her lightly with your elbow. "Besides, I think we could be the type of couple that survives a crazy situation together, you know? Like those action movie pairs."
Kyujin raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. "Y/n, we’re not going there. I’m not saving your ass every time you make a mistake.
"We would also be the couple that steals a kiss or two during a mission" You said
Kyujin froze for a moment, her expression unreadable as she processed your words. Then, with a deep sigh, she leaned back, crossing her arms with an exaggerated look of annoyance. "You really do have a thing for drama, huh?"
You shrugged, your grin widening. "Maybe I just like the idea of us being the center of a story. A really epic, action-packed story."
Kyujin shook her head, though there was a spark of amusement in her eyes. "You're ridiculous, you know that?"
"Hey, it’s not my fault that you’re too good at playing the part of the brooding protector," You teased, leaning back against the wall with a smirk. "All you need now is a leather jacket and a mysterious past."
"I think you need to relax a little." Kyujin said
"Can't when it's you." You said
"I'm not playing into your romantic delusions" Kyujin said
"Not a delusion but a reality." You said
"You're…something for sure." Kyujin said
You let out a soft chuckle, your heart lightening as both of you exchanged playful banter. There was something comforting about the back-and-forth, the way you both could slip into moments of normalcy despite everything that had just happened. It was almost like a reminder that life wasn’t just about the chaos and mistakes—it was about these little exchanges, the ones that made everything feel a little more bearable.
"I think you're just secretly enjoying it," You said with a mischievous grin, nudging Kyujin once more. "You can't fool me, I know you secretly love the drama."
Kyujin scoffed, though the faint blush on her cheeks betrayed her. "I’m seriously starting to question my life choices right now."
"Why?" You asked, your voice dripping with playful innocence. "Because you're stuck with me? Because I make your life interesting?"
Kyujin rolled her eyes but didn’t pull away. "I think you’d be a lot easier to handle if you weren’t always trying to drag me into your ridiculous scenarios."
"Hey, at least I keep things fun," You retorted, flashing her a bright grin. "Wouldn’t you be bored without me?"
There was a brief moment of silence as Kyujin studied you, a soft smile tugging at her lips. "Maybe," she admitted, before looking away, as if trying to hide the vulnerability that flickered across her face. "You can be exhausting though."
You leaned in closer "But you love me."
"I swear, you're going to be the death of me." Kyujin said taking a step away
"I think that happened a while ago." You said taking a step closer to her
"If you're referencing you shooting yourself? Yeah." Kyujin said taking a step away
"Maybe, but also something else." You said taking a step closer to her once again
"Which is?" Kyujin asked taking a step away once again
You grinned, a teasing spark in your eyes as you closed the distance between them. "The fact that you can't seem to stay away from me, even when I make your life a living nightmare."
Kyujin scoffed, though there was no real heat behind it. "You're delusional if you think I'm sticking around because of you."
Your grin widened as you took another step forward, now standing just a few inches from Kyujin. "Come on, admit it. You like the chaos. It keeps you on your toes."
Kyujin met your gaze for a moment, her expression shifting as she thought about it. Her usual sarcasm was gone, replaced by something more genuine, even if she didn’t want to fully acknowledge it. "I don’t know if ‘like’ is the word I'd use," she said, voice softening slightly. "But maybe I’m not as immune to it as I thought."
You raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by the crack in Kyujin's armor. "So, you're telling me… you’re not secretly enjoying our little dance of tension?"
Kyujin’s face flushed slightly, but she quickly masked it with a roll of her eyes "I didn't say that." You leaned in closer, your playful grin not fading as you studied Kyujin's expression. "Oh? So you are enjoying it, just a little bit, huh?"
Kyujin crossed her arms tightly, clearly trying to keep her composure, but the flush on her cheeks was undeniable. "You’re unbelievable," she muttered, though there was a hint of warmth in her voice that she couldn't quite hide.
You chuckled, taking another step forward until there was barely any space between you both. "Admit it. You’re secretly entertained by me."
Kyujin let out a deep sigh, her gaze dropping for a moment, and then she looked up, her eyes softening slightly. "You… make things interesting, Y/n. But don't think for a second that I enjoy all of it."
"All of what?" You asked, your voice quieter now, the teasing tone replaced by something more sincere.
Kyujin hesitated, her eyes flickering briefly before she spoke. "All the mess… the chaos you bring. But… yeah, I guess… I guess I can’t help but stick around."
Your heart skipped a beat at the admission. You could feel the weight of the words, and for the first time, you allowed yourself to take them in fully, not just as a joke or playful teasing, but as something real.
“You really do care, huh?” You asked softly, your voice quieter now, almost vulnerable.
Kyujin didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she looked at you for a long moment, her expression a mix of frustration and tenderness. Finally, she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "You’re an idiot, but I care about you. More than I probably should."
Your heart softened, a gentle warmth spreading through her chest. For a moment, it felt like the walls between you two had crumbled, and all the teasing and banter melted away, leaving something much deeper, something more vulnerable and real.
"Yeah but i'm your idiot." You said
Kyujin’s eyes softened, and she let out a quiet laugh, her usual sarcasm slipping away as she looked at you "You're my cute silly idiot"
"Cute? Aww!" You said
Kyujin rolled her eyes, though the smile tugging at her lips betrayed her amusement. "Don't get too carried away," she teased, her voice light but still carrying that soft warmth. "You know I'm only saying it because it's true."
You grinned, your playful demeanor never fully fading. "I’m still your idiot though, right? The one you can't seem to shake off."
Kyujin shook her head, though her eyes were soft. "Unfortunately, yes. You’re stuck with me."
Your grin softened into something more sincere, your eyes meeting Kyujin’s. "I’m okay with that. As long as you don’t mind me being a little… extra sometimes."
Kyujin raised an eyebrow, a small chuckle escaping her. "Extra? You mean all the time."
You nodded, your expression teasing again. "Well, you love it, don’t you?"
Kyujin gave you a mock glare, but the playfulness in her voice didn’t hide the affection. "I might, but don’t get too cocky about it."
Your heart fluttered at the tenderness in Kyujin’s tone, the unspoken connection between you both thickening with every word. "You know, for someone who pretends to hate me, you’re really bad at hiding it."
Kyujin rolled her eyes again, but this time, there was no denying the soft smile on her face. "I don’t hate you. I’m just… trying to keep you in check. You’re a handful."
"Only for you," You replied, your voice low but teasing.
Kyujin sighed dramatically, though her smile never faded. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
"I would still kiss you by the way" You said
"Try me." Kyujin said Your grin only widened at the challenge, your heart racing slightly at the playful dare in Kyujin's voice. You leaned in just a little closer, your breath brushing against Kyujin’s cheek, the tension between them palpable. For a moment, the world outside of your little bubble seemed to disappear, leaving only the space between the both of you.
Kyujin didn’t pull away, but her expression was a mix of amusement and something deeper, something more vulnerable. Her lips quivered into a smirk, clearly still testing the boundaries, but there was something unspoken in the way she didn’t move.
Your eyes flickered to Kyujin’s lips for a brief second, then back to her eyes. “Are you sure about that?” you asked, your voice almost a whisper now, the teasing tone replaced by a softer, more serious edge.
Kyujin’s gaze softened, and she let out a quiet sigh. “I don’t know,” she said, her voice quieter, almost hesitant. “But I think you should, uh, just go ahead and try. If you’re brave enough.”
The challenge was clear, but the undercurrent of something else, the vulnerability, the trust, was equally clear in her eyes. It was a moment that hung in the air, suspended between them, heavy with possibility.
Your heart thudded in your chest, but instead of retreating, you took a deep breath and closed the remaining distance between you two, your hand gently cupping Kyujin’s cheek. The kiss was slow at first, tentative, like you were both testing the waters. It wasn’t a movie moment, it wasn’t dramatic, no stolen kisses during a high-speed chase or danger-filled mission, but it felt real. It was raw and honest, something that neither of you two had fully expected, but both seemed to need.
When you finally pulled away, the silence between the two of you felt different, more peaceful, as if something had shifted. Your gaze softened, her fingers still resting gently against Kyujin’s skin. “You know we can't do this…" Kyujin said
"Worth a try." You said
Kyujin's eyes flickered, uncertainty dancing in them as she looked at you, her breath still unsteady from the kiss. "Yeah," she murmured, almost to herself, "Worth a try."
You smiled, but it was softer now, quieter, as if the teasing mask had finally slipped away. "I don’t know what it is between us," you admitted, your voice quieter, tinged with a raw honesty that was rare for you. "But whatever it is… it’s different."
Kyujin nodded slowly, her gaze not leaving your face. "Yeah, it’s… complicated."
"Complicated is an understatement," You said with a soft chuckle, though your voice held a hint of frustration, as if you were trying to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions inside you. "But I think… maybe it’s worth figuring out. If you’re willing to."
Kyujin’s gaze softened, the edges of her usual guarded nature slipping away. "I don’t know what I’m doing half the time, Y/n," she confessed, her voice a little more vulnerable than usual. "But I know I don’t want to walk away from this… whatever this is."
Your heart skipped a beat at her words, and for the first time in a long time, you felt like maybe she wasn’t the only one who was scared of the unknown. "Neither do I," you whispered back, your voice barely audible.
For a moment, neither of you said anything, just letting the quiet settle around the two of you. It wasn’t perfect, and it wasn’t easy, but in that silence, you both understood something unspoken.
Kyujin finally broke the quiet, her voice soft but steady. "We’re both messes, you know that?"
You grinned, your eyes twinkling with that familiar mischief. "Yeah, but we’re each other’s mess."
Kyujin rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the small smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "I don’t know if that’s comforting or terrifying."
You leaned in again, this time a little more confidently, your fingers gently brushing Kyujin’s. "Maybe both."
Kyujin’s smile deepened, and she let out a soft laugh, her hand brushing against yours in return. "Yeah, I think you’re right."
You both stood there for a moment, caught in the quiet space you had carved out for yourselves, knowing that things wouldn’t be easy and that your path ahead was far from clear. But for the first time, neither of you felt like you had to figure it all out alone. And for the first time, that mess didn’t seem so bad.

This Is Gonna Get Worse Before It Gets Better
Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Sorry if this chapter seems kinda rushed, I wrote it at 2 A.M. LOL Anyways, I hope you enjoy! I'll try to update again soon.
Tumblr media
"There were three of them? And what exactly did they look like?"
"Well, uh... I didn't really get a look at their faces. They were all hidden."
God, how you wanted this to be over already. The stress from last night's events was becoming almost unbearable, and having to retell the whole story at your local police station definitely didn't help.
"Covered? So you didn't see them at all?"
You sighed and shook your head. "No. The one who tackled me... He had on a white mask. The lips and eye sockets were painted black. Kinda looked like some creepy porcelain doll."
"And the others?"
"One of them had on these giant goggles with orange lenses. And his mouth was covered by some kind of mask thingy. And the last one... I only saw him for a split second before they all left. But he had on a black ski mask with a red frown on the face of it."
The officer in front of you jotted down all of your words onto the small notepad in his hands. "Your case is certainly strange. And you can't think of anyone you know who could have reasons to pursue you?"
"No. Not at all. According to the white-masked freak, I wasn't even their original target."
This caught the man's attention. He looked up from his notepad and made eye contact with you, a quizzical expression on his face. "Is that so? Then what made them attack you?"
"I guess they thought I was someone else. White-masked freak said that I've 'seen too much.' That's when he attacked me."
He turned his attention back to his notepad, jotting down a few last words as you spoke. He slipped the notepad into his pocket before clearing his throat. "Thank you for your time, Miss (L/N). We'll contact you upon any updates. If you see any of these men again, you know who to call."
You hurriedly made your way out of the police station. The memories of your attackers replayed through your head almost constantly. The lack of sleep was starting to catch up to you, but you were too afraid to let your guard down long enough to rest. Who were they? If you weren't their 'target,' then who was? What was their motive? Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of your ringtone and a soft buzzing coming from your pocket. You reached into your pocket to retrieve your phone to see that you were being called by... Kimberly's mother? You accepted the call and lifted your phone to your ear.
"Hello? Mrs. Allman?"
"(Y/N)! It's been a while, dear. How are things holding up?"
Something was off about the way she spoke. She sounded slightly panicked and her words were shaky. Maybe now wasn't the time to talk about how things had 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 been holding up.
"Oh, um, things have been going decent. Is everything okay?"
"I was actually wondering if you've heard from Kim lately."
"Kim? She left for home yesterday morning... right?"
"Well, yes but..." She paused from a moment and took a deep breath. "She never showed up. She should have been here a long time ago. She won't answer my calls and texts, and I'm just worried sick, (Y/N). So, I'm guessing you know nothing concerning her whereabouts?" Her voice began to crack as if she was on the verge of crying.
You were speechless for the next few seconds, worry making it's way into your body like some deadly disease. Was Kimberly really missing? You didn't even think to call or text to check on her while she was on her way. What kind of friend were you? What if she was in trouble? What if she was hurt? "No, I'm... I'm so sorry, Mrs. Allman. I don't know anything. I'll try my best to get in contact with her."
Hanging up the phone, you began to breathe heavily. Where could she have gone? Was it too soon to report her as a missing person. No, surely Mrs. Allman would take care of that. You stared at the screen of your phones and dialed Kimberly's number with shaky hands only for it to only go straight to her voicemail. You then shot her a few texts, praying to get at least some sort of response. You buried your phone back into your pocket before making your way to your car. As if you weren't already stressed enough, now your best friend was missing. You gripped the steering wheel as tightly as you could, holding back a sob. Twisting the keys in the ignition, you suddenly froze in place as you felt something cold and metallic pressed against the side of your face.
"Drive."
You didn't even have to look to see who was holding a gun to your head. You saw the familiar yellow from the corner of your eye and tried as hard as you could to keep yourself from hyperventilating. Your thoughts were jumbled and you couldn't get your body to move at all. The metal was pressed further into your face as he repeated himself.
"Can you not hear me? I said drive."
You hesitantly pressed your foot against the gas pedal and made your out of the police station's parking lot. It was hard to focus on traffic in your current situation. Your mind was becoming more and more foggy by the second.
"Go home. The others are waiting for you. We have some talking to do."
What. Those fuckers were 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 for you? Your nerves were already a wreck. The LAST thing you needed was to be face to face with the men who had tried to kill you just last night. You survived them once just out of pure luck. Surely you could pull it off again, right? You didn't say another word and obeyed his demand. It wasn't a long drive back home, but being held at gunpoint the entire time made it feel like hours. He didn't yield his weapon until the car was in park. You reached to open the door, but his voice stopped you.
"Wait."
He scanned the area and you assumed he was looking for other people. It made sense considering it was the middle of the day. What kind of serial killer would be careless enough to let themself be seen in broad daylight? He gave you a nod, signaling that the coast was clear and exited the vehicle. You followed after him and led him up the stairs to your apartment. You were barely able to make it up the staircase due to how shaky your legs were. Your trembling hands fumbled with your keyring, searching for the door key.
"It's already unlocked. Go in."
How do these psychos keep unlocking your door? You twisted the doorknob and made your way inside, the hooded man just inches behind you. Sitting on your couch were the other two men that you feared with everything in you. The goggled man, or "Rogers," as you had heard his comrade call him, was the first to speak.
"H-hey, princess! I told you I'd buh-be seeing you again s-s-soon! Don't mind M-Masky, he's still pissy about being drenched in m-milk!" As he spoke, his head twitched to the side a few times, his neck making a stomach-churning 'crack' sound.
The other man, "Masky," wouldn't even look in your direction. Wow, he really is pissy. The hooded man made his way over to the couch, taking a seat between the other two.
"Sit down. We have questions for you, and it would be in your best interest to comply."
His threatening tone only intensified the feeling of dread in your stomach. It almost made you sick. You hesitated, but decided to listen, clinging onto the hope that maybe, just 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦, you could get out of this alive. You sat down on the recliner across from the couch. You wanted to keep as much distance from them as you could. You stared at the ground, fidgeting with your hands. Your mind was spinning in circles and it took everything in you to not just bolt out the door and never look back.
"First of all..." The man in the yellow hoodie began to speak and unfolded a small piece of paper. "Do you know who this is?"
You extended your arm to grab the paper from him and stared at it. Staring back at you were those familiar hazel eyes you had grown to love so much.
"Kim... She's my best friend, of course I know her." You were tempted to lie, but your life depended on giving these guys the information they wanted. And they made sure you knew that. The man in the white mask was the next to speak, his voice cold and stern.
"Where is she?"
"I don't know. Honestly, I don't." Your voice began to tremble.
"Bullshit!" He stood up from his seat and towered over you.
"I'm serious! I DON'T KNOW! She was supposed to be staying with her parents for the weekend, but she never showed up. She won't answer my calls or texts. I have no clue where she is."
Rogers let out that same eerie giggle that's been haunting you since your first encounter with him.
"Sounds like she's trying to h-hide from us!"
Your mind was racing with questions. Why were they asking you about Kimberly? What did they want with her? Was 𝘴𝘩𝘦 the target they had mistaken you for? You were pulled out of your thoughts as the hooded man began to speak again.
"You live with her, correct? When was the last time you saw her?"
"I live with her, yes. I haven't seen her since yesterday morning. That's when she left."
Masky sat back down, seeming to have calmed down a little. "She knows we're onto her. There's no other reason she'd just disappear like that."
His words confirmed your suspicions. Kimberly was definitely the person they intended to kill that night. But why? Why HER of all people? Your fear was soon replaced with anger. You shook your head and stood up from your seat.
"Kim? You're targeting Kimberly Allman of all people? WHY?! She's never been anything but good to everyone around her! What reason would ANYONE possibly have for wanting her dead! You're all fucking sick!"
Masky stood up once again, his face just inches from yours. "Watch your fucking mouth, whore! WE'RE the ones who get to ask questions, not you!"
"Are you serious?! First you break into my apartment and try to fucking KILL me, now you're telling I don't get to ask questions when I find out that YOU WANT MY BEST FRIEND DEAD?! You're all idiots if you think I'm gonna let you get anywhere near her!"
Your screaming match was interrupted by the hooded man. "Calm down. Both of you. (Y/N), there are things you don't know about Kimberly. I can go ahead and tell you that she is definitely 𝘯𝘰𝘵 your friend."
How did he know your name? Scratch that, you probably won't like the answer to that.
"What? What are you talking about? Of course she's my friend!"
"She r-really is clueless. It's kinda c-cute!"
You really couldn't handle all of this right now. You were so worn out both physically and mentally. Your head was starting to hurt from both the stress and the never-ending questions that plagued your mind.
"I don't understand... What the hell are you talking about?"
Masky scoffed. "Are you slow? Kimberly is planning to kill you. Has been for a while now."
It took you a moment to process the words that came out of his mouth. "No. You're lying. You're a fucking liar! YOU'RE ALL LIARS! She wouldn't... no, she would never. Kim would never even dream of hurting anyone, let alone her best friend."
"She's a great pretender, I'll give her that. But you're being naive. She's trying to get as close to you as possible to make getting rid of you easier."
"I think sh-she's in denial! It's okay p-princess, as long as you're useful to us, w-we wont luh-let her get to ya!"
You were still hesitant and debated if you should even believe what the men were telling you. "I just don't get it. Why? Why would she want to hurt me?"
"We c-can't tell ya that much. But as of right n-n-now, she's still our main target."
You finally snapped, no longer able to hold yourself together anymore. You buried your face in your hands and began to sob. You tried to speak, but nothing came out but pathetic cries.
The hooded man stood up suddenly. "Masky. Let's go. I think that's all we're gonna be able to get out of her for the time being. Rogers, keep an eye on her for tonight. Give her some space for a while. She's got a lot of processing to do."
With that, he took his leave, Masky following behind him. You were left alone with Rogers, but you weren't able to focus on his presence due to the intense mental strain you were currently experiencing. You hoped with everything in you that he wouldn't actually be there for the rest of the night. But you weren't that lucky today.

"You said you're a big brother. You'd take care of your little brother? You'd do anything for him?" "Yeah, I would." -1x18

"Don't get mad at me, don't you do that. I had to. I had to look out for you. That's my job." "You save my life over and over. I mean, you sacrifice everything for me, don't you think I'd do the same for you? You're my big brother. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you." - 2x22

Better than anyone else in the entire world... I wish you'd drop the show and be my brother again... just cause." -3x07

"I just know we're all we've got. More than that. We keep each other human." "Thank you, really... I won't let you down." -5x03
"In between jobs, Sam and Dean would sometimes get a day – sometimes a week, if they were lucky... Sam used to insist on honest work, but now he hustles pool, like his brother. They could go anywhere and do anything... when it was clear, they'd park her in the middle of nowhere, sit on the hood, and watch the stars for hours without saying a word. It never occurred to them that...maybe they never really had a roof and four walls…but they were never, in fact, homeless." -5x22
"Sam, it's okay. I'm here... I'm not gonna leave you. I'm not gonna leave you." "It's okay, Dean. It's gonna be okay. I've got him." -5x22
"Look at me. Come on. You don’t know what’s real?... Let me see your hand... This is real...I was with you when you cut it, I sewed it up. Hey, I am your flesh-and-blood brother, okay? I’m the only one who can legitimately kick your ass in real-time. You got away. We got you out, Sammy... Believe me, okay? You gotta believe me. You gotta make it stone number one and build on it." -7.02
"You can barely do it with me. I mean, you think I screw up everything I try. You think I need a chaperone, remember?"
"Come on, man. That's not what I meant."
"No, it's exactly what you meant. You want to know what I confessed in there? What my greatest sin was? It was how many times I let you down. I can't do that again. What happens when you've decided I can't be trusted again?...who are you gonna turn to next time instead of me? Another angel? Another vampire? Do you have any idea what it feels like to watch your brother just.."
"Hold on, hold on! You seriously think that? Because none of it -- none of it -- is true. Listen, man, I know we've had our disagreements, okay? Hell, I know I've said some junk that set you back on your heels. But, Sammy…come on. I killed Benny to save you. I'm willing to let this bastard and all the sons of bitches that killed mom walk because of you. Don't you dare think that there is anything, past or present, that I would put in front of you! It has never been like that, ever! I need you to see that. I'm begging you." -8x23

Forever fall accident
Nora: *looking at the sap from the tree slowly filling her jar* Soon, soon you will be mine~
Ren: *sigh* Nora, the sap is not for you. It's for the professors. Please don't drink another jar... Again.
Nora: *cheekily* I can't promise~
Pyrrha: *looking around* Did anyone see Jaune?
Nora: *looking up to Pyrrha* Maybe the call of nature got the best of him?
Ren: *sigh even louder* Nora, i don't think Jaune would just leave without saying a word just to go to the bathroom.
Pyrrha: He probably was lost in his own head. He does that a lot, we should try finding him.
______________
Jaune: *looking at team CRDL* Now that i helped you with getting more sap, do you need anything else?
Cardin: *smiling* Jauney boy, you've been such a good help today. So much so that me and my team decided to finally move on from you.
Jaune: ... What do you mean?
Cardin: *taking one of the jar* See, whatever we do to you, you seem to not mind. And frankly, it's booooriiiiing. So, instead of trying to get a reaction from you, we thought "what if we tried on someone else?"
Jaune: ...
Cardin: Now, we both know how much of a pushover you are, soooo *put the jar back in Jaune's hand* We want YOU to throw that bottle at Pyrrha.
Jaune: ... Excuse me?
Sky: *with a box in his hands* We got a rapier wasp nest, and they love sap!
Cardin: *spitting on the ground* She keeps beating us up because we are a bit rowdy with you. And we want to teach her a lesson. And you *poke Jaune chest* will help us.
Jaune: ... *Sigh* Cardin, i give you 10 seconds after I finish speaking to reconsider your actions.
Cardin: *laugh* You think you can threaten me? We all saw how bad you were during practice.
The jar breaks in Jaune's hand
Jaune: *coldly staring at cardin* The only reason i don't do well in class is because if i actually tried, i might kill people. Now, i will ask you again to rethink your decision, Cardin.
Cardin: *a bit less sure* You might be good at bluffing, but i still know that you wouldn't be able to fight the 4 of us by yourself! I- *get punch in the guts. Then, while trying to catch his breath, Jaune caught him by the throat* Ack!
Dove, Sky and Russel: *ready their weapons*
Jaune: 10 seconds. *Sigh* i let you walk all over me, pushed me and sent me into dangerous situations but i didn't care because you weren't trying to hurt anyone that was important, just me. *Bringing Cardin to eye level, not even flinching when Cardin desperately tried to punch him to get released* But you had to try going for the ones that matter. Now this is your last warning Cardin; Forget your plan, and i won't break your neck like a twig. *Jaune's grip tightens even more, breaking Cardin aura*
Sky: *screaming* URSA! WE GOT URSA!
Jaune: *finally look around him, seeing the Ursa's encircling the group* Hm... *Release Cardin* Get out. All of you.
Dove: H-how!? There's no exit!
Jaune: *smiling* You make yourself a path. *Goes in front of one of the Ursa* Like this! *Use his spear to behead the ursa in one swing*
Sky and Russel: *help Cardin getting back up*
Dove: *looking at Jaune smiling after killing the grimm* You freak...
Jaune: *turning to Dove* Yes, i am.
___________
Pyrrha: Jaune! Where are you!
Nora: Fearless leader, we got sap for your dessert! We know you love making them!
Ren: ... Nora, i highly doubt he will-
Jaune: *coming out from the trees* More sap? Nice, my jars are broken!
Pyrrha: Jaune! *Goes to him* Thanks the gods you are okay and- *look at the broken lance* What happened!?
Jaune: Oh, you know, a little grimm ambush. *Smile* Nothing to worry about.
Ren: We were supposed to tell Glynda for any sighting of grimm.
Jaune: Don't worry, their's none left. *Turning to Nora* And you won't need to break Cardin's legs, i don't think he will try anything else against us.
Nora: Ohoh!~ You kicked his ass?
Jaune: *scratching the back of his head* Not necessarily. But i don't think he will want to try anything else.
________
Team RWBY is walking back to the bullhead
Yang: ... He was laughing.
Blake: ... Yeah.
Weiss: he dismembered those grimm like if they were made out of paper.
Ruby: *sigh* and the way he talked to Cardin...
Blake: Can't say he hadn't it coming.
Yang: ...
Ruby: *looking at Yang* Hey, i know what it looks like, but i'm sure we can talk with him about it, right?
Yang: *sigh* Yeah... Probably.
