I think I'm at the point where I like some of the designs in VoM, but there's a weird discrepancy between the in-game models and artwork to me.

I actually like the dragon girl now that I see her fully! Her art? Not so much. But her in-game model is so cute. They sealed it with the eyes. Shame they gave her an orientalist costume though. I know it's a popular look in CN and JPN games, but dang do I wish they'd leave it behind. (And it makes less sense here since it contrasts culturally with her base costume and the other job class.)

I still like the protagonist's artwork more than his in-game model by far. Something about the nose or something in the face is too baby-ish or soft?

#at the end of the day #i just don't like haccan's art for mana #like as an art style #and his designs aren't very good to me in general #they're not the worst generally speaking #but they're just more of that over-designed anime nonsense in mana #even tho i'm not the biggest fan of kameoka i do think his designs hit good!#and ikeda nao is still unparalleled to me #and between ishii and the best ever mr nobuteru yuuki their designs? stunning #i think each of them also has art styles i prefer #ishii's chibis are adorbs but the others all manage more mature looking characters usually #or something more distinct to their art #but haccan... i don't like his more stylized art or his 'semi-realistic' art #it's a shame
