fun facts //
○ Luxor Academy Alumni, he attended the high school from Freshmen year until graduation.
○ Zander really doesn’t trust easily, and he constantly is questioning people’s motives, he doesn’t think most people do things for him without wanting something in return.
○ That doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about people however, he does feel empathy for others and it’s very possible for him to care about someone and not trust him. (Example: he can think of you as a friend but still be wary about your motives).
○ He doesn’t really like discussing his feelings, he expresses them; he feels them, but he doesn’t want to talk about them. He has to really trust you if he’s willing to actually tell you how he’s feeling when he’s upset/hurt instead of lashing out.
○ His sisters are very important to him, he’s in constant contact with Grace (just like Balo - is) and he tries to monitor Balo when he can, intervening in ways she won’t find out about if he feels like he needs to. His parents? Not so much. As for William? It’s complicated. (Family page here for more info on the Driskells)
○ He likes his motorcycle more than you, I’m sorry but it’s true.
○ Zander’s always willing to tutor if he knows a subject and you have a way of paying him. Something needs to pay for that motorcycle.
○ Extremely into space, he loves it even more than he loves his motorcycle and coffee. He’s always dreamed of creating spaceships and satellites, and his dream job is astronautical engineering (a subfield of aerospace, which he’s majoring in)
○ A few centimeters shorter than Balo much to his chagrin.
○ He may or may not get offended every time someone reminds him he’s not actually related to Lucy.
○ Loathes the word sorry even more than he wants to fight Jack.
○ Don’t ask Zander for his opinion unless you want it unfiltered. He will tell you to your face he hates everything about you if you give the platform to, and he doesn’t care if it’s offensive. Because as he sees it, you shouldn’t have asked a question you didn’t want the answer to.
○ The #1 LEGO stan at Luxor. Who needs therapy when you have plastic bricks?
○ I’m always willing to discuss my muses, so feel free to hit me up if you have any questions at any point.
a tl;dr history //
○ The Driskells come from an extremely abusive household. Their father is an alcoholic, and their mother tends to work the hours he’s home, leaving the children to fend for themselves. In turn, Zander resents both his parents
○ Zander has always felt like it was his job to take care of his younger sister, Balo, even since they were children. If she needed anything, if their father was going after her, etc etc, he was the one to step in to do what was best for her. This is a habit he still hasn’t broken.
○ This job became easier when their older brother, William, was adopted. Even if the boy was adopted to better appearances after Balo almost caused a social service investigation.
○ Zander is very antisocial and for his first year at Luxor, he mostly only talked to the baseball team and the book club. This eased slightly after Balo also came to Luxor, although he’s still not really one for socialization.
○ When he was home during summer break after his sophomore year, his father stabbed him. This caused some serious damage to his deltoid and the long head of his left bicep that needed surgical repair. After the surgery, however, he thankfully made a full recovery.
○ Zander has been at Luxor since he started high school, other than an occasional school break and having to go home during the summer of 2019.
○ I strongly recommend skimming Zander’s timeline page before interacting with him. These are just the bare minimum basics, and there're more things your muse may know on there.
wanted connections //
○ Enemies, because Zander really needs more people who can’t stand his shit
○ People that Zander tutors
○ People from the baseball team or bookclub
○ People who hire Zander for his photography
○ Photography Friends

seria if you wanna do another one for her paris if you dont
You know, I have no memory of doing any of these for Seria specifically, nor could I find one in my archives :/. I have mentioned her in past ones, but she wasn’t the focus. I’ve definitely written her story deeper than what surface we were given, but not in this format. What the hey, let’s do both.
Seria:
Headcanon A: realistic
The disdain Seria held towards rookie Summoners pre-GQ and then some was also fueled by the fact that Bloody Rose canonically takes in rookies displaying "problematic behaviors", among others. While she didn't take as much issue with that pre-Algmos, becoming Captain post-Algmos is when she really starts to have her issues, now in charge of troublesome folks who she's obviously stronger than. It got to a point where a vast majority of Bloody Rose's subsequent recruits were "problematic rookies", her general attitude towards new Summoners driving off many who otherwise would've enlisted, especially given the recruits' age range being impressionable teenager to young adult. Thus exacerbating her view of "all rookies are good-for-nothing weaklings."
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
I’ve mentioned this once before, but I like entertaining the idea of Seria secretly (at first) getting into Pokémon GO while doing her daily workouts, just as an added bonus. Like, she hears about it through the grapevines and suddenly, bam. She’s on the app. She’s on Team Valor b/c this is Seria we’re talking about. She guards one of the Gyms set up inside the Summoners’ Hall, and the one at the Arena. She’ll vehemently deny it at first, but the more she teaches students the more willingly open she becomes about it. Younger Summoners on other teams take this as a kind of incentive to do enough to dethrone her, even though she’ll be right back on. Roy, who joined Team Instinct, has already done this several times. I would include Wallace, but he’s on Team Valor and is like the last person you face before Seria.
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
Seria’s family didn’t know about the Algmos Incident until she finally decided to come clean about it, which was quite a bit of time post-GQ. No, she didn’t drop contact with them completely after the incident, but it did noticeably decrease in volume. A mix of “not talking about anything specific” and “barely talking about anything in general”, not wanting anyone to see her as anything to pity for; less than “strong with a successful career”. They were so proud when they got the news of her passing the Demon Slayer aptitude exam, and later her promotion to Lieutenant. And yet, here she was, choosing to pick up what little was left of a squad she, in her mind, had a hand in destroying. After all, she was close with that rookie and had no qualms about him being on that fateful mission.
Her family was none the wiser, thinking that work was just suddenly keeping her busy. Oh, how emotional things got when she finally told them the truth....(In a “Why didn’t you tell us sooner?” kind of way, please.)
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
(Not unrealistic, but an alternate canon)
Seria isn't gonna willingly admit that Liam's the one who got her into Pokémon GO, and neither will he. She just noticed her favorite nephew playing it while they were out somewhere and got curiouser and curiouser. As Liam is on a different team than the one she picked, she's also secretly proud of when he takes out one of her Pokémon in a Gym.
Paris:
Headcanon A: realistic
The Lowendells, even ones that don't take up the path of the warrior, are known for their strong affinity for Thunder magic, though there are outliers here and there due to marrying those of other houses. Paris is also versed in Light and a bit of Fire from her non-Lowendell relatives.
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
While she had short hair, her bedhead would stick up in the most Shonen Anime Protagonist/Character ways. Think of just about any spiky-haired anime character. There has been a point where Paris’ bedhead has resembled them and she’s had to tame it down every morning.
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
I’m going to start swerving a little into my own verse for this:
That bit in Celgrad about how her parents disapproved of her joining Akras? Yeah, there’s more to that story. Paris was nowhere near ready mentally to become the next Imperial Guard commander in the absences of Eriole and Tesla. Hell, Eriole made and kept her third-in-command for everything but her true capabilities as a leader, and especially for her apparent naivete that he and Tesla were all too quick to point out back in Atharva once they disowned her.
Here’s the thing, though: Both sides of her family have strong ties to the Imperial Guard: father, older brother, and maternal aunt being very prominent members after Paris herself, who was appointed third-in-command to the previous commander so young. So, for Paris to suddenly up and try to “abandon tradition” instead of salvage the pieces was...inconceivable. Well, it was to some vocal members, such as her mother. Others just didn’t want to voice their opinions for one reason or another.
Then came her maternal grandmother, still a matriarch. And she supported Paris’ decision. This lead to other relatives coming forward and allowing her to distance herself and give herself some space. This gave Paris at least some ease in her decision to join Akras. Of course, she also has it in her mind that many back home are anticipating this being only a temporary stay....(Well, it turned out to be.)
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
(Not so unrealistic, but and alternate canon)
After enrolling in the Academy for some supplemental classes after joining Akras, Paris takes a bit to both address Ren as "Instructor" and then shake the habit while in Ishgria. Not that Ren minds too much, but Paris is a bit embarrassed by the awkwardness.

Pokemon FanFiction Chapter 1: Who is this Girl?
“Charizard use Flamethrower!” Alex yelled from below to his Pokemon.
He loved this, the feeling of a Pokemon battle. He could see his Pokemon high up in the air, dodging and flying around his opponents Pokemon. Soaring as it battled a large cream colored Pidgeot the large orange fiery lizard pushed itself backwards and blew fire from its mouth. The bird screeched in pain as it took the hit and started to descend from the air. “Use Hurricane!” his opponent yelled to his own Pokemon. Pidgeot opened its eye and caught itself a few inches from where it took the hit. It lifted its wings and started flapping faster, its wings started to glow brighter and brighter until pure white. From the flapping wings, powerful bursts of wind smashed into Alex’s Charizard sending it flying backwards and smashing into the nearby wall. Alex could tell that Charizard had taken a lot of damage, and the Pidgeot’s attack seemed to never end. The gusts of winds were pushing Charizard further into the white walls, he needed to act fast. Was there any move he had that was super effective against a flying type? He needed a plan or he would lose, there had to something he could…
“HELLO, I’M TRYING TO TALK TO YOU!”
Alex blinked as he remembered he wasn’t really in the battle, it was a battle simulation on his computer and he was actually in the school library. He turned to see who had poked his shoulder and yelled into his ear for his attention, rarely anyone talked to him from school. It was a girl, which confused him more. The first thing he noticed was her long red curly hair, she had it in a bun, the bun wasn’t like normal ones he could tell she had a lot of it and it seemed untamable. She was about as tan as he was, but her face was covered in small darker freckles. She wore a black tank top with a regular Pokeball in the middle with the words “PokeAcademy” underneath the Pokeball to symbolize the school they both attended. She also wore a red and black checkered flannel over top completely unbuttoned. He was confused as to why she was even wearing it if she didn’t have it buttoned all the way, I mean it was September and starting to get kind of chilly but why have it all unbuttoned? I mean didn’t she know he could see… He quickly made sure he was staring into her eyes. Her green eyes stared back into his for a moment and then looked away and he thought for a second she was blushing before her lips puckered, her eyes narrowed, glancing away from his and said to him:
“Is it okay if I sit here? All the other people are weird…”
He looked around the library and knew she was totally bluffing. The library was huge, the university was made for hundreds of students that came from all over the world, so there was no way the library would be that crammed that you had no room to be by yourself. He could see there were hundreds of other places to sit, other tables, chairs, computer areas, and he knew there were many more seats past the vast number of bookshelves and cubicles. But she was cute and she did ask him. Fine. He shrugged and motioned to the chair in front of him. She plopped down in the cushioned seat, opened her messenger bag with a black laptop that looked as heavy as a brick. He smirked at her laptop that had stickers of Ponytas and Mubrays all over it, so she was a horse girl?
She blushed and glared at him, “This is the only laptop I had at home, I’ve had it since I was little, so hush. Plus, it still works… I mean it has kinks and stuff but… hush.”
He smirked and continued to work on his holographic screen laptop that he bought a year ago. She began to boot up her laptop and fish through her backpack for a textbook. After finally grabbing her textbook she grabbed her pair of glasses that looked like something a very small child would wear and started flipping through the pages of her textbook. His smile widened, wait why was he smiling so much? He didn’t usually talk to people on campus, but more importantly he didn’t even know this girl! Yet though, her presence felt inviting and warm, he felt like he wanted to know this girl more. Usually the people on the campus annoyed him and he didn’t want to make friends. Everyone was an obstacle for him to obtain his goal, and he didn’t want friends, plus they especially didn’t want him…
“So are you going to stare at me all day, or are you going to tell me your name, small one.”
His smile faded, he blushed for not realizing he had spaced out and had been blankly staring at her. He then quickly changed his face to be glaring at her after realizing what she had just said. Small one!? He ignored the nickname,
“ummm… the name’s Alex, what’s yours?”
She smirked as she began booting up her laptop and flipping through pages of Pokémon Types, The Advantages and Disadvantages,
“Bethany.”
They talked for a while and he found out she was in the same degree and year as him. He also found that Bethany was a transfer student from the Kanto Region Academy school.
“Oh hey, I’ve been to Kanto! Well kind of… more like the Sevii Islands with my family. But that still counts, right?”
She rolled her eyes, “No.”
She then placed earbuds into her ears and began typing away after reaching the page she was looking for and began to start working on something.
Okay, back to what I was working on then, he thought to himself. He started at this school two years ago, took every class possible to get his degree finished as soon as possible and now he was almost done with this school. That meant that in two more semesters he would get to take the exam and get his trainer license and be able to become a real Pokemon Trainer. I mean, everyone can become a Pokemon Trainer, however if you go to college, get good grades, and do really well on the exams, you can have sponsors who will pay for your journey, since for some reason his parents didn’t want to support his expensive dreams. Alex used to live in Opelicud City, a place where you could see the beautiful and powerful dragon type Pokemon flying through the night sky, where the powerful gym leader, Drayden lived and battled trainers that dared to challenge him. His parents had always wanted him to follow in their footsteps and become researchers, but that was not something Alex was really interested in. True he loved to over-analyze, theorize and plan out everything when it comes to certain Pokemon and the way a battle could play out, but he didn’t want to be what his parents were.
Boring.
Plus, there wasn’t a lot of money involved into it unless you were famous like Professor Oak or Juniper. The most important reason however was that becoming a researcher took a lot of time, so you didn’t have time to battle and train and stuff. That was a passion Alex could not just pass down. Alex wanted to become a Pokemon Master. He wanted to go out and experience the world, battle really strong trainers from tons of different regions, use many different kinds of Pokemon, and become a champion in every region. He worked so hard for his degree practicing every night on the battle simulator the school provided. He started to go back to his simulation when Bethany chimed,
“You know those computer battle simulations do not help you become a better Pokemon Trainer, right?”
He tensed and looked over his laptop again, “What do you mean? Of course, they do.”
He exited from the battle he was losing, opened the chart, and flipped his screen over to her.
“The Battle Simulator teaches you the idea of the 16 different types of Pokemon, it can show their EVs, IVs, Abilities, and gives you the ability to look at certain moves and whether or not they work for each Pokemon. It’s the closest thing to teaching everyone how to properly battle against all 807 different Pokemon including the legendary Pokemon and Ultra Beasts.”
She sighed, pulled out a notebook and opened it into a bunch of her scribbled out notes, “Yes but think about it, in the real-world Pokemon know more than just four moves. Plus, type advantages and these so-called “EV and IVs” don’t always mean everything in battles, they just might give you a slight advantage. You need to look at certain ideas like terrain, the care you give the Pokemon, the experience you have as a trainer, trust the Pokemon has for you, and the fact of the matter is, moves like flamethrower don’t have 100% accuracy boy, almost all moves can miss because Pokemon don’t just stand still in battle and let themselves get hit. How many battles have you participated for real anyway?”
Wow. He never thought of that before. He blushed at the second part of her statement- dang she could really make him blush,
“Not yet… I just got my first Pokemon since the academy only allows students to have their beginning Pokemon to second semester juniors and seniors. Plus, I never really participated in the school funded battle tournaments because well, I never had anyone to really participate with…”
He had always been considered the loner since coming to this campus, and also the big nerd. Nobody really talked to him unless you count the professors who might know his parents, or some students looking for tutoring lessons on certain classes he was excelling in. Other than that, nobody asked him to participate in real battles. Probably because he was boring or too nerdy…
Her eyes bugged out, she took off her small glasses and closed her laptop loudly, making him jump because he was kind of scared for that laptop seeing how old it was,
“Hey… ummm, I know we are talking about something important and all but… could we get lunch first… I actually have no idea where the cafeteria is because today is my first day here,” she then poked his shoulder from across the table, “and I pick you to take me there.”
He sighed but smiled, who was this woman?

The Spirit of Alola - Chapter 3
A Pleasant Ride Home
My mind feels fuzzy, and I try to pull myself out of the fog with a shake of my head. We'd been bumping about in the cab for a while now, but I still couldn't pull myself out of the exhaustion-fueled haze.
I'd thought about discussing my strange over-tiredness with Kabir, but I also think I might be okay after a good long rest. Besides, knowing him, he's probably noticed. My husband may be blind, but he sees more than most.
The move to Alola was long and more complicated than any move we had made before. However, that was to be expected since we were traveling across the ocean and not just a few hours on the land.
I had spent many sleepless nights the weeks before we had even started packing to ensure all the plans for our move were set firmly into place. I wanted to be certain that the time spent after the move was more productive than our last, which had been a disaster. Kabir offered his help where he could, but his strengths lie elsewhere. Coordination and planning are areas that I am well acquainted with.
Hopefully, this will be the last move we make, I think to myself. At least, that is the plan.
We had spent a significant amount of time hunting for the perfect home, both inside and out. Of course, we needed plenty of space for the Pokemon we used for research, but we also wanted to make sure that our own Pokemon would have plenty of room to explore and stretch their legs. There was also our need for a large area for our lab, plus spare rooms for any visiting family or friends. All this made the hunt for this very particular home a difficult one.
Hop purrs contentedly on my lap as we continue down the road, her rib cage rattling with the shifting noise and her warm body soothing, having placed her front half across my legs. I look down at her soft purple fur and gently rub my hand across it, encouraging a small mewl of pleasure from the touch. The Delcatty pushes her head up a bit to inform me that she would require more pats. I oblige with a smile.
Kabir sits next to me, with Tinsel on his left. As is typical, she is sporting her ever-present red PokeAssist vest with the words "Do Not Battle" written in white on a patch of black.
The blue Sylveon had her head out the open window, excitedly watching the world pass by. One ribbon was still wrapped affectionately around my husband's wrist, even though he did not need her for guide work at the moment. Her fluffy tail was thumping gently against his leg, and he smiled at her happy noises of curiosity and awe.
My husband's short, neatly combed hair was blowing in the gentle breeze as we rolled along. Though we are only in our late 20's, his rather difficult life had left his black hair peppered with gray streaks, and his face was lined with the stress of his life, aging him by nearly ten years.
As a result, it wasn't uncommon for strangers to address him with a respect reserved for a more senior person upon first meeting. We also had reactions of shock when they would learn that I, who looks younger, is married to that very same aged-seeming man.
While Kabir is tall and somewhat gaunt from frequent hospital visits, I am short and thin. Though they aren't very noticeable when I'm at rest, the muscles under my caramel-colored skin are hardened from my many years of martial arts training.
My eyes are a light brown, and my hair is long and black, usually left down, unless I was working on something. At those times, I would pull the hair tie off my right wrist to put my hair up in a ponytail or messy bun.
Kabir was faced forward; his head angled down slightly and, his sightless eyes, ever milky white, were unmoving. Even so, I could see his mind working as he paid careful attention to the world around us. His ears would hear things I can't, and his nose would smell scents that I would never be able to pick up in such small traces.
"How's your head?" I question, knowing the flight must have made it hurt.
"It's not too bad right now." My husband answers. "How are you feeling?
"Ready to be finished with this move." I joke
" Have you heard anything from the movers yet?" Kabir asks.
"Oh my! I haven't even turned my phone on yet!" I respond. "Silly thing of me to do."
"You must really be tired." He chuckles back, knowingly.
I grab my phone out of my pocket and switch it on. Watching as it powers up, I see there are no new messages or phone calls. I let Kabir know, then notice the battery is rather low, so I put it back in my pocket and look to my window to see a forest sprawling across the land outside.
Everything is a whiz of new sights as the Tauros swiftly pull the cab along the currently empty road. The trees and grass are green with splashes of color as I see every Pokémon and plant this island seems to hold rush past.
Pikipek and Wingull soar effortlessly through the sky. They swoop down with well-timed flaps of their wings, snatching up only the ripest fruits.
Bug Pokémon like Ledyba, Caterpie, and a pink and white small mantis-like creature I don't recognize, crawl along the ground and up the trunks of trees. A black Rattata with thick whiskers stops its scurry from its hole to stare at the cab as it speeds past.
I describe the scene unfolding before me to Kabir as best I can, though I know my words would never give the vibrant world any justice.
"I can't wait to get out and experience this new world!" He exclaims excitedly. "I want to smell the fruits and grass. Feel the bark on the trees. Dig my toes into the dirt. This place sounds amazing! Even the sun on my face feels different and more inviting."
His eagerness is contagious, and I find myself wanting to get out of the cab to explore with him.
We continue on like this for a while longer, descriptions filling the air as we speed down the road.
"Oh, I can see a city!" I call out to Kabir, sticking my head out the window, the rushing wind blowing my long dark hair into my face.
"That'll be Hau'oli city!" The cabby, Berns, calls back to us. "We're near to your home. You'll only be a walk down Route One to get to town, but you will be just far enough out of town to enjoy nature to its fullest. You really picked a fantastic location."
"That's precisely what we were hoping for," Kabir answers back, excitement showing on his face.
I see the town Berns was talking about growing larger. It was bustling. People and Pokémon make their way around the streets, stopping at the various vendors or walking into the many shops and restaurants. I start describing as much of the world around me as I can as the Tauros begin to slow down as we arrive in the town.
"We're entering the town just now." I describe. "There's a small Growlithe pup sniffing around some of the fruit stands. I think it's looking for food. Oh, but a sweet-looking older gal at a produce stand has given it some fruit. There are even more Pikipek in this town as well." I add, patting my husband's leg excitedly. "They are grabbing fruits from the stands here too, but the shopkeepers don't seem to mind."
"The food grown on this island is meant for everyone," Berns calls back to us over the patter of eight hooves on pavement. "We always have such an abundance of food because of the tropical climate."
"Have you ever had a food shortage?" I ask, leaning forward to see out the front of the cab.
"Of course." The cabby replies. "Even though our home seems perfect, we do experience natural disasters, just like anywhere else in the world."
"Well, what happens to the wild Pokémon when these kinds of things happen?" Kabir questions quizzically.
"We share even then, of course. This abundant food comes from the fertile land. Both people and Pokemon alike live on this island, so we return everything we receive back to it, even if times are rough."
"This place gets more and more wonderful with every passing moment." I sigh, sitting back and looking out my own window once more.
"Yes," Kabir says, echoing my pleasure. "It'll be the perfect place to set up and study."
A large building comes into view, and I start describing this new commodity to Kabir.
"That'll be the Pokemon School," Berns says after I finish. "Children from all over Alola come here to study Pokemon."
"Really? The building looks old, though. I thought your League only started not even two years ago." I say, tilting my head to one side and thinking about the Schools from our old home of Johto.
"It did..." He sounds confused by the comment.
Kabir, catching on, explains. "Usually, Trainers challenge gym leaders to battles to earn gym badges. When they gather eight, they can enter that area's Pokemon League. The Pokémon Schools where we come from were established to help would-be Trainers bypass the long trek around the land collecting badges. If a Trainer chooses to attend the School, they can qualify that way to enter the League should they graduate."
"Oh, I see," Berns responds thoughtfully. "Well, that certainly is interesting. The School here is simply for learning about Pokémon and teaching the children other important life skills so they can pick a profession they enjoy when they get older."
I look over at the School again and see a group of children practicing with their Pokémon in the yard. "There's a Charizard, Eevee…and…oh, that must be a Tsareena." I pause as the cabby confirms my guess. "It's tall with magenta legs and body, a white midsection and face, and long green, leafy frills falling down the back of its head. What is that large blue and white Pokèmon?"
"Um," Berns pauses, glancing at the schoolyard. "Oh! That's a Primarina."
I describe this one to my husband as well.
"You know, you two should think about teaching a class or two at the School. I bet Principal Oak would be more than pleased to have a couple of overseas Professors as guests." Berns comments afterward.
"Yes!" Kabir responds eagerly, sitting up at the comment. "That sounds like a wonderful idea. It would be so much fun." He turns his eager, sightless eyes towards me and continues.
"I wonder if he would allow us to sit in on a few classes as well. I would love to see what the education system is like here." He reaches his hand out in front of him, and Tinsel flops onto his lap, shoving her blue head into his hand for a pat.
"Yes. It would be fun to teach and watch a class." I agree, reaching over to the affectionate Sylveon and giving her head a scratch as well.
"If you two catch me again, let me know how it goes. I've got a little one myself, though he's too young yet to be going to School." The cabby says. "But hey, you should come over once you have settled. I know the missus would be thrilled to have you over for dinner, and the little tyke would love to meet your Pokémon too."
"Absolutely, we will," I respond.
"It would be our pleasure," Kabir adds, smiling broadly.
We continue to travel on, with pleasant conversation interlacing with the descriptions of the sights. Berns throws his own knowledge in as well, kindly telling us names of the new Pokemon and giving us spans between certain places, like a popular restaurant, the Pokemon Center, and other useful shops from the distance of the town entrance.
When we finally come to a stop, he spends a few minutes writing down the information for us on a piece of paper and hands it over to me. "Sorry, I can't write that down in Braille for you, sir." He says, turning to my husband.
"Oh, no trouble at all. Sashi can transcribe it for me when I need it. Though I've been blind all my life, so I've grown to be pretty good at judging distances, and Tinsel here will be able to keep me on a straight path if my wife isn't around to keep me on track." Kabir responds conversationally with a slight chuckle at his own words.
Then he continues, always eager to have a chat. "In fact, Sashi and I started our careers out as Pokemon Trainers, and we've traveled all over the world, usually walking or riding our Pokemon from town to town. So I'm actually rather used to foot travel."
He starts to end his monologue when I place my hand on his arm, though, ready to get inside. I could also tell Berns' was getting antsy to leave, seeing as he was still on the clock.
"Thank you, though, very much for writing down all the information for us anyways. There's a lot to remember; moving to a new place and having the directions on paper will be very useful." He finally finishes.
"Oh, good. I'm glad to be helpful. I've written down my own number and address as well." He points to the mentioned areas on the paper for me. "If you guys have any questions or you just want to pop over for a visit, feel free. I've got to get back to the airport, though, so you guys have a good time getting settled. Don't be strangers!" He clambers back into his seat, then gives the reins a shake calling out a few words to his Tauros, and they begin to make their way back up the road.
Kabir, the Pokemon, and I all turn towards our new home.
It's wide and tall. So tall, in fact, that there are four levels to it. The main floor is flush with the ground at the front, then a second floor containing three bedrooms plus a sizable master's bedroom. Above that is the large, empty attic. Finally below all of this is the basement, which actually has a door leading to the backyard.
There's a fence around the entire property, broken in some places and completely missing in others. We'll be fixing it later, knocking down some areas and raising higher fences around the side that edges along the sea.
The property held several acres of land that stretched far back behind the house. I hadn't seen it more than what the pictures had shown me, and I was too tired yet to have any desire to go exploring. Even my ordinarily adventurous Delcatty didn't leave my side to check out the new place.
I stand and stare at our new home for a moment, but movement in the corner of my eyes catches my gaze. I look over and see a lithe feline shape. The body looks similar to that of a Persian, but instead of the golden fur, this one is grayish-black. The face is also strongly different, being rounded and puffy.
I watch as the cat Pokemon glares at us, hisses, then slips under the fence, sprinting towards the city we just left.
"Looks like we finally made it," Kabir says, reaching out and patting my arm. Tinsel's ribbon, as usual, was guiding his hand, but the movement was so natural with her help that you could nearly assume the young man was fully sighted.
"I don't know about you, but I could certainly use a nap." He continues, giving my arm an affectionate squeeze.
"Alright then, tough guy," I tease my husband, giving him a gentle punch on his arm. "Let's get inside before we fall asleep standing out here."
We head inside, drop everything on the empty living room floor. We wrap ourselves into our sleeping bags like a pair of Metapod, wriggling around on the ground until we find a comfortable position on the hardwood floors. Hop and Tinsel snuggle up between us, and we finally begin to drift off.

A (HOPEFULLY) QUICK GUIDE TO MY MUSE-
Because I have a billion hcs and this might help??
Profile:
Name: Lisia Le Roux (a hc last name, it never really gets used) Nickname/s: Lis, Lissi (by her fans and friends) Alias (when she’s incognito): Andromeda (Andy) Badeaux Age (main verse default): 20 Eye colour: Turquoise Hair colour: Turquoise Height: 5'3 Ethnicity/nationality: Hoennian (Sootopolitan)/Kalosian Current living conditions: An apartment in Lilycove City. Various Hotels as she travels. Occupation: Coordinator, Idol, Actress, Singer, Contest Judge, Event Host Disposition: bright, social, very happy and friendly and cheerful
Important Headcanons:
Natural Appearance + Incognito Adventures (link here):
- Lisia’s “canon” look is something she has to work for/put on. Her hair is naturally very wavy (see this heckin gorgeous art), so for her Idol look, she has to use various products to prepare and style it into the smooth ponytail and fringe.
- When she wants a break from her fame and fans, she will go out in casual clothes, with her hair down or loosely styled with pretty much no product, so its all wavy. No one recognises her like this. This is her, like, one way to have freedom, she does not share this secret with anyone unless she trusts them. She doesn’t like lying, but if required, she will say her name is Andy Badeaux.
- Personas. This is a very important one. Lisia is different when she is being an Idol and when she is ‘Incognito’. Her fame has a big impact on her. She is more ‘free’ to make mistakes and be more human when she is not an Idol. (link here)
Sootopolitan Bloodline (link here):
- Lisia (and Wallace, and secretly Proton) are descended of the ancient Sootopolitans. This is rare enough as it is, due to the history and mixing of bloodlines, but these three have the recessive traits of the turquoise hair and eyes which was the signature of the ancient Sootopolitans as well as their affinity and connection to Water type pokemon (link here).
- Sootopolitans like Lisia have unique aura (link here) which is very similar to that of water type pokemon and helps draw them to her and bond with them. This aura is also what allows the, now rare, occurrence of pokemon that evolve via Water Stone to evolve without said Water Stone. Lisia’s Vaporeon is evidence of that.
- Lisia has the potential to learn how to use her aura to manipulate water (link here)
- She is drawn to the water and finds it hard to be away from it, it can interfere with her concentration (link here)
NPCs:
- Chaz. A Rich Boy Coordinator that debuted the same day as Lisia. He calls himself her rival. He thinks they have a special connection, and he’s always trying to get her to spend time with him. (link here)
- Wallace. Lisia’s Uncle. Her idol. He’s the one that got her into Contests. (link here)
- Karine. Lisia’s younger sister. A Pokemon Racer in Kalos. Lowkey rude af. (she doesn’t have to be included, I’m not forcing her on Wallace rpers with them being family etc) (link here)
- Lisia’s Manager. She seems kind and caring and she’s excellent at her job. Lisia trusts her and thinks she has her best interests at heart, but the woman is subtly manipulative. (link here)
Contests and Idol stuff:
- Idol duties + more. Lisia is a very busy girl. A lot of her activities revolves around Contests but there’s also quite a bit more, which opens up opportunities for interactions! (link here)
- Contest Passes. They are what allows someone to participate in a Contest, Lisia carries a few ‘special’ passes around that she gives out during promotions. (link here)
- Entertainment Bureau + managers. There are Contest Halls in certain towns/cities. They’re where the Contests happen, there’s the huge stage areas, multiple dressing rooms, etc. They’re big places. But they’re not where all the organising and such takes place. In the big cities and a few towns, there are Entertainment Bureaus. They’re large office building complexes with multiple divisions within. Different floors have different specialties but they all work rather closely together. The business actually started when several entertainment groups joined together. They all come under the one ‘Entertainment’ umbrella but some of the bigger departments do have their own branches in certain places as well, where the demand is. (link here)
- Contests. I use a mix of game/anime as well as some of my own thoughts for how Contests for Lisia works. (link here)
- Contests are harder than you think and require a lot of skill! Seriously. (link here)
Pokemon:
- Lisia’s only canon pokemon is her Altaria, Ali. I’ve given Lisia more pokemon for her ‘on hand’ team (link here). Since she has such a huge love of them, Lisia also has a whole hoard of water pokemon and other pokemon she loves particularly. These pokemon are not kept in a PC. (link here)
Interests:
- Space/Stars. Lisia’s mother was an astronomer and so Lisia feels a big love and connection to stars and space. (link here)
- Water/swimming. Due to her Sootopolitan heritage mostly (Sootopolitans favour water type pokemon), Lisia feels a huge calmness from being in/around water. She loves swimming and she would love to meet anyone with water type pokemon, especially the water type specialists.
- Music/Dancing/Theatre/Singing. She took dance, music, and theatre classes when she was younger (link here). She’s also very good at mimicry/impressions. (link here)
End game:
I’ve seen a few rpers talk about ‘character arcs’ which is Awesome so this is my kinda version since I think its super important to have something like that in mind. So…
The Pokemon Journey™ and her view of trainers is very important to her. In the Game, after the Player defeats her in the Master Rank Contest, she says…
“I said the other day that I wondered what made you so special… I think I’ve got a better idea now what it is. See… It’s probably ‘cause you don’t do just contests, <player>… You’re out there filling your Pokédex, taking on Pokémon Gyms, and all kinds of other things! You and your Pokémon shared all those experiences… That’s why you can show off the real appeal of your Pokémon better than any one of us can! I’ve started thinking that I should do the same, Gyms and Pokédex and all.“
Even before I had read that, I had always felt like Lisia would pursue a change such as taking a break from Contests to try a journey. So, as I see it…after enough main verse interactions and development (likely with trainers), Lisia will-
- Take a break from Contests and start a Journey in another region (I’m betting Unova) - Struggle and develop, learning about herself and her pokemon. Grow to be more independent and learn to let herself be herself. And of course become a super badass battler along the way. - Make her return to Hoenn. Perhaps return to Contests since she only intended it to be a break. But I feel like they’ll be too easy for her now maybe. - Want to have more responsibility. Take over from Wallace as ‘guardian’ of the cave/sky pillar. Maybe become Gym Leader one day.
EDIT: i have now written a whole post for Lisia’s “Endgame” (link here)
THIS WAS NOT AS ‘QUICK’ AS I HOPED OOPS. SORRY.
#long post#making this my first post so i can update the linky thing#・゚✧ LISIA — ( relevant )#muse guide

Gotta Catch ‘Em All (part 1)
Pairing: Chanyeol x Reader
Genre: Fluff, College AU
Description: You play Pokemon GO in secret. Chanyeol finds out and you both bond over the game. Maybe you start to like him a little bit more than throwing balls at animated monsters.
A/N: This was a SolarxChanyeol fic that i wrote on AFF but I edited it for here in 2nd person. It’s dumb. No one plays the game anymore, but I wanted it up on this blog anyway.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
You were never one to pull unnecessary attention to yourself, nor were you the type to do things that brought on gossip from your peers. You neither blended into the background nor stood in the spotlight. You always found yourself somewhere right in the middle. And that’s where you liked it. In a place that could label you as neither popular nor the weird loner.
You had a handful of friends whom you would spend time with when you weren’t immersed in your own world (which happened fairly often despite your efforts to not space out). You would say that you and your friends were close, yes. They’re the people you’d call in a heartbeat if you had a problem, or wanted to hang out to have fun, but you were still convinced that they weren’t close enough to know of your current biggest secret and guilty pleasure.
You were a Pokémon GO nerd.
This secret wasn’t all that bad. In fact, many people on your campus played the game; however, your friends did not. You liked being around your friends, and you were aware that they wouldn’t shun you if they found out about your interest in the game, but still some part of you felt that you shouldn’t go around revealing just how involved you actually were.
You were not only a player, but an owner of around 3 Valor gyms in the area. You were undeniably one of the best players in the area, and had gone uncontested for weeks now. In fear of being picked on or teased for your interest in the game, you kept this to yourself. You only played when you are off campus, on weekends when you weren’t with your friends, or in the safety of your own neighborhood.
You were sure they wouldn’t give you too much grief for playing the game, but you didn’t want to risk it. You didn’t want them to know how good you were, and you didn’t want to be found out by others in the school who would want to battle you and learn your secrets and tricks.
It was selfish, but you’d rather avoid the unnecessary interactions if you could help it.
You enjoyed the rush that you got from keeping your hobby a secret in all honesty. No one knew of your interest in the game, and you wanted to keep it that way. It was your way of disconnecting from the world and pretending to be a child once again.
You’d always wanted to be a Pokémon trainer, and thanks to this one little app you were able to relive a childhood dream.
Your final lecture of the week ends and you’re is out of your seat and leaving the building faster that you can say Charizard. Since yesterday you’d been plagued with the thought of searching a nearby park for a water source so that you could catch a Gyrados. You’d found plenty of Magikarps but didn’t have nearly enough of the candies needed to evolve any single one of them.
At the sound of your name you stop speed walking to turn around. It’s your friends.
“Hey guys.” You say with a smile as they approach you.
“We’re going to the PC room after we meet (Y/F/N) at their building. You busy?” (Y/F/N) asks with a hopeful glint in their eye.
Although it hurts to turn down your friends, you have got to catch a Gyrados today or you might go insane. “Sorry. I have a lot of studying to catch up on today. Maybe next time.” You lie easily. You friends pouts and nod with saddened smiles.
“It’s fine. We understand. Don’t study too much okay?” You’re pulled in for a quick hug.
“Yeah, you have to use some of your time for yourself too you know?”
If only they knew how much time I do spend on myself. I should actually study for once, honestly.
“Don’t worry. I will. I’ll text you guys later. Have fun at the PC room.” You say with a wave. The three of you separate to go on your two separate paths. After checking over your shoulder a few times, you pull out your phone and open up your Pokémon GO app.
Pretending to be texting, you search for Pokémon while on your walk to the park. Move your finger as if you’re texting. Look up from your phone. Stop walking. Pretend to scroll through your phone as you throw a Poké Ball to catch a Pokémon. Start walking again.
Repeat.
By the time you reach the fountain in the center of the park, you have already caught 3 Spearows, 2 Pidgeys, 2 Weedles, 1 Caterpie, and like 12 Ratattas. You lock your phone in order to survey your surroundings, and when you see the large group of guys surrounding the fountain that you know is a PokéStop, a small smile finds its way to your face.
Someone must have a lure module on.
You’re tempted to grab your own phone and walk over to reap the benefits of the module, but you refrain from doing so. If you go over there and try to nonchalantly sit they’ll know that you’re playing the game too as soon as you take your phone out.
After a moment of thinking, you spot a tree not far from the fountain and decides to go and sit there so that you’re still close enough to be able to be affected by the module, but far enough that you won’t pull any of their attention.
You walk to the tree and rest your back against its trunk. You take in a deep breath and let it out. The air is clear and it’s the perfect weather to walk around and catch Pokémon. You pull your phone out of your pocket and plug in your headphones so that no one can hear the app’s background music.
As you suspected, the PokéStop has pink petals surrounding it meaning that a lure is in use. You take one headphone out while swiping at the icon to get free Poké Balls and an egg. You wait in silence for the Pokémon to show up.
“Why do you have so many Pidgetos?”
“Because when I first got the game I got my ass handed to me by a Pidgeto in a Valor gym.”
“So you’re forming an army of Pidgetos?”
“You don’t get it. It’s about the principle.”
A Nidoking pops up in the blue circle of the PokéStop on your phone. “Oh shit! It’s a Nidoking!” one of the boys shouts excitedly. You’re quickly able to catch it with a megaball and listen amused by the boys at the fountain.
“Fuck, what’s the combat power on this thing? I’ve wasted like 12 Poké Balls.”
“I got it! Hah, maybe it just doesn’t like you Baekhyun.”
“Maybe I just don’t like you.”
“Baekhyun don’t be mean to Tao.”
“That wasn’t even mean. It could have been worse.”
“He’s right Junmyeon. That was tame of him.”
You sit and catch a few more random Pokémon thanks to the help of the boys’ lure, and then you finally get up to find the Gyrados that you came for. You look around to make sure that no one who knows you well is around. It’s obvious that others in the area are also playing the game. Their posture and focus give it away as they walk.
You click on the icon to see what Pokémon are nearby, and a shadow that you are unfamiliar with shows on your screen. 3 footprints, and it’s not showing up in color like the others.
You don’t have this one yet.
It has to be a rare one.
You follow to where your phone tells you the rare Pokémon is with no regard to who may be watching or see you nearly jogging while frantically looking at your phone. No, you don’t care because you have got to catch this one. It looks like a Ditto, and they’re basically a fucking myth. If you can catch this one…you could delete the app and die happy (but you won’t do that because how can you be the very best without all of the Pokémon in world, really?).
The 3 footprints drop to 2 and you are already thinking of what to nickname it. It’s a purple blob so maybe “Play-doh”. Or perhaps “Silly Putty”…then again you’ve always been a fan of the name “Bob”.
“Oomph!”
“Shit!”
Your body stumbles backwards after having collided into another human being. You look up from your phone to see a male that you surprisingly know fairly well. He’s in like 2 of your classes, and is loud as hell. His name is Park Chanyeol and he’s taller than like 14 flagpoles with a voice as deep as the Marianas Trench. He looks just as surprised to have collided into you as you are him, and when you each look down you simultaneously realize why the accident happened.
You were both staring at your phones looking for the Ditto and not looking in front of yourselves like you should have been. You frown when you see the shadowed blob on his screen. You point to his phone and narrow your eyes. “Don’t you dare. This is mine. Go find something else.” You know that you don’t know him well enough to talk to him in such a way, but you will fight the guy for the Pokémon if you have to.
Height and gender be damned.
Chanyeol takes a moment to gather his thoughts after having bumped into a person he knows all too well.
The person that he has been admiring from afar since last year. And not only are you in front of him actually talking to him, but you’re playing Pokémon. If he only liked you a little bit before, he likes you like 40x more after finding out that you play the game he and his friends play.
He had only superficially liked your before really. You were pretty, and you laughed loud and with your entire soul and that sound would always make his heart pound in his chest. He didn’t know much about you besides the fact that you hung out mainly with the same 3 people, and that you were fairly well liked by those who knew of you.
But did he mention that you were really pretty?
Shaking himself out of his thoughts he points at his own phone before quickly saying, “No way. This one is fair game.”
As much as you want to protest, you know that he is right. You can’t claim it, so that just means you have to find it before him. “Fine.” You mutter. “You’re right, but I will not hesitate to fight you once we find it.”
He is slightly shocked at the fact that you’re letting him track the rare Pokémon with you, but he keeps the surprise to himself. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s not every day that you get to go Pokémon hunting with your crush after all.
You focus back on your phone trying to get closer to what you assume is a Ditto (all of those years of ‘Who’s that Pokémon?’ finally counted for something) while Chanyeol half looks at his phone and half watches the person next to him.
“I know you.” He says. You frown at the statement and say nothing. You don’t know where he’s going with this. You are neither shocked that he knows you nor would you be appalled if he didn’t. “You’re in some of my classes.” He continues.
Halfheartedly you mutter, “Am I?”
He nods knowing fully well that you’re too focused on walking to see him. “I didn’t know you played Pokémon though.”
“Not many people do.” You don’t miss the fact that he wasn’t specifically talking about GO. You wanted to protest, but what could you say? You could have denied the fact that you were an avid but closeted Pokémon fan, or you could have just told him that you were just playing the game on your phone for fun. And yet you do neither and let the boy assume whatever he wants even though you were clearly the former.
You stop in your tracks as the footprints for the Ditto vanish, and with it it’s shadow. It should be right here. You spin in a circle hoping that the connection is just slow. When your phone freezes and the familiar screen showing the servers have crashed appears, you let out a pathetic whine.
“Bob no!”
“Bob?” Chanyeol asks with a hint of a smile at the name.
“Ugh, I really wanted that one.” Ignoring his questioning tone, you don’t even attempt to ride yourself of the pout while muttering curses under your breath. This was a major loss. Your shoulders sag and you close and reopen the app knowing that the precious Ditto will be nowhere to be found.
He watches on in amusement at the genuine despair showing on your face, and he can’t help but think how cute and nerdy it is that you’re pouting like a child over a lost Pokémon.
As expected, the Pokémon is gone when you reopen your app. You sigh in defeat and turn to face the boy you had almost forgot was with you, despite his overwhelming height. “Um…I’m gonna…I’m gonna go. I have to-” you shake your phone next to your face. “You know. So um, bye.” Awkwardly you turn around and mentally smack yourself. That was the most uncool thing that you’d ever done in your life.
How can you do such a thing around such a cute guy.
This is exactly why you doesn’t date. You need social skills to actually be able to click with people, especially with boys. Unfortunately, you find that your social skills particularly like to fail you in the presence of handsome men.
“Wait! Can I come with you?!” stopping in your tracks, you turn to face the source of the voice with raised eyebrows.
Chanyeol flushes after having accidentally blurted out the question. He didn’t mean for it to come out as creepy as he felt it did. “I mean to catch Pokémon. I haven’t been playing very long and I still don’t know how it works.” He was assuming that you did, but from the amount of focus on your face from earlier he was fairly confident in his assumption.
“Yeah…sure.” You weren’t sure why you agreed. There was something thrilling about the thought of playing with someone else even though you were keeping it a secret. You had met him through this, so perhaps it was okay to let the secret slip with just him. “We can go to a PokéStop if you want and I can help you,” it’s a question posed as a statement, but Chanyeol smiles and nods before jogging back to your side.
“I’m Chanyeol.” He says.
“I know.” You answer. You mentally smack yourself again. Way to sound creepy.
Chanyeol smiles despite himself. You actually know who he is. He thanks whatever Gods there are out there to have decided he was worthy of this experience. What country did he save in his past life?
You offer your own name.
“I know.” He says. Assuming that his choice in response was meant to tease you, you scoff out a laugh. You make your way to a statue and sit on the ground in front of it. You could have gone to the fountain, but you were almost certain that those boys were still there, and if your memory served your correctly then you knew that they knew Chanyeol. Also, you were sure that the particularly loud friends of the boy beside you would go off and accidentally reveal your poorly hidden secret.
If you could even call it that anymore with the fact this guy you barely know, knows. At the base of the statue you face him. “You can’t tell anyone about this.” He waits for you to explain, because he isn’t sure what you’re trying to hide. That fact that you’re together maybe? Do you have a boyfriend? A girlfriend maybe? Are you embarrassed to be seen with him? He doesn’t consider himself a bad guy necessarily. Like everyone he has his moments. “No one knows that I play, and I want to keep it that way.”
“You play Pokémon GO in secret?”
You nod. “I just…I don’t want people to know okay.”
He pretends to zip his lips. “My mouth is closed.”
You let out a relieved breath. “Good.”
You and Chanyeol hold your phones out so that the other can see. You click on your character’s face and show him the screen that pops up. He does the same and he can see that he’s just reached level 7 while you yourself are on 24.
“Wah, you must be really good at this.”
“Um…yeah I guess. I don’t play all that often.” A lie, and he’s knows it. The game hasn’t been out that long and there’s no way you can be that good without playing often. Trying to pull the attention off of yourself you point to his screen. “You’re team Mystic?” you ask with a smirk.
“Go blue or go home.” He says with a proud smile. You scoff.
“That’s probably why you suck. It’s all about Valor dude.”
“I don’t suck!”
“You were going the wrong way when you were looking for that Ditto earlier.”
“How do you know that? Maybe you were.”
“No, I was right. You bumped into me, so you were going the wrong way.” You reply confidently. “You have to look at the box to see if it starts blinking green, and I can guarantee that yours wasn’t blinking”
He looks down at his own screen in confusion.
“Here.” You click on the Zubat that is supposedly nearby. “Now, turn slowly until you see the box blink green.” He follows your instruction and turns his body in a circle. The box blinks ever so slightly and Chanyeol lets out a shocked gasp.
“Has it always done this?” you nod. He looks at you in awe. “Teach me your ways.” he holds his hands together pleadingly. You find yourself giggling at the gesture.
You face a minor internal battle. This is supposed to be your secret thing. Your getaway. A thing you could enjoy alone. But with the smiley guy beside you, you can’t help but think that maybe it would be just a bit more fun being able to play with someone else. To share stories. Experiences. To brag.
Because as much as you want to deny it, you were dying to brag about your feats to someone.
Perhaps taking on a certain deep voiced disciple wouldn’t kill you.
You set your lips into a line as you click through your Pokémon and scan all the lame nicknames you’d given them. “Alright.” You say with finality in your voice before turning to look at the hopeful boy next to you. “I’ll take you under my wing. But as soon as someone else find out, the deal is off.” You point an accusatory finger at the taller.
He holds his hands up defensively. “I swear on my life not to tell anyone.” He makes an X over his heart. “I promise.”
You grin brightly. “Awesome, now…let’s try to figure out how to level up your weak Mystic Pokémon.” He makes a sound that clearly shows his offense, but you only laugh despite it. This is the first time you’ve felt so relaxed while playing, it was quite the breath of fresh air.
