7-12 for Space Boy and 3-6, 16, & 19 for The Silver Eye, please?
Space Boy
7. how does the story compare to your initial impressions of it? has it surprised you yet? how?
Gosh I…I feel like it just constantly tackles subjects that are so hard, like grief and even conspiracies and what-not. It’s so…real in that sense and I don’t know if I expected all of that at the beginning haha
8. what questions are or were you most excited to learn the answers to while experiencing the story for the first time?
Bro I want to know what the Artifact is, and what’s up with the Wanderer…and like HOW IS OLVER GONNA GET BACK TO EARTH CAUSE HE HAS TO OKAY?!?
9. give the most UNHELPFUL and/or SILLY summary possible.
Girl just trying to catch up to a world she’s 30 years behind on, but ends up figuring out a huge coverup while getting to know the boy everyone tells her is creepy
10. if you made an amv about this, what song would you set it to?
I had to look through my music then I remembered “Broken Boy” by Flannel Graph and I feel like it would be a good Oliver/Amy song…
11. if you were put in the main character's position, how well would that go for you on a scale of 1-5?
Oh gosh…I…I don’t know if I could handle that…either Amy *or* Oliver…0…I’m saying 0 😂
12. assuming your loved ones would be there, would you want to live in the world of the story?
Hmmm…kind of but also…I don’t like how like…prevalent VR is…so I’m torn…😂
The Silver Eye
3. quickly list 3 things you like about the story!
Mystery, beautiful art, such a complex story and world but so engaging too with all of the characters!
4. assign this story a hyper-specific genre name, e.g. "inspirational religious semi-horror sci-fi western"
Fantasy/mystery/I genuinely am blanking help me 😂
5. do you have a favorite character? who?
…Avidan…I mean, I love so many characters but Avidan just…became my favorite forever ago and it has not changed since 😂
6. do you have a LEAST favorite character? who?
Aetius, I mean he makes me laugh but he’s also legitimately insane so…
16. do you think this story has broad appeal, or is it meant for a very specific audience? if it's more "niche", what kind of person would most enjoy this story?
Hmmm…I mean, I think it has broad appeal but you have to be okay with like…a bunch of mystery and things slowly revealed, to the point that you usually have to reread the story every once in a while to remember all of the little tidbits and build up/foreshadowing
19. pitch an idea for a sequel or spinoff novel for this story!
I know Laura mentioned a whole idea about Blue and her backstory…not sure if that’s something I’m super interested in or not…we might get more of this too but having a little spin off of Bhatair and Marcus meeting and their adventures when they were younger would be fun!

ask game!
1, 28, 38?
Ooo alrighty!
1. What are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?
Oh, that’s a tough one- besides the obvious answers (my family, my friends, etc.), I’d say…
1- “Children’s” Literature
Warriors, Artemis Fowl, Redwall- these series were instrumental to my childhood, and responsible for not only hours upon hours of entertainment to me as a child (I used to carry them into restaurants and read at the table more often than not), but they’re responsible for both my initial push into creating artwork (especially digital), but my discovery of online spaces (and friends) as well!
2- The Animal Planet channel
Gosh, where can I start… when I was a child, supposedly, my parents worried about frightening ads on standard television channels around Halloween- so during the spooky season they would put on Animal Planet under the assumption that anything frightening there would be the natural world.
As a result, I was raised on all forms of wildlife and animal-related information. I’ve no doubt this is directly responsible for my encyclopedic knowledge of animal facts as a child (and now), my initial interest in being a veterinarian (which did not come to pass), and now my passion for wildlife education, conservation work, and rehabilitation! I don’t know what I’d have become without it.
3- Working at a wildlife clinic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(all animals above are non-releasable wildlife ambassadors used for education- not pets!)
Truly, I cannot describe how fulfilling and eye-opening it has been to be able to work with wildlife on an up-close level. Not only has it given me confidence in my abilities (how many average people can say they’ve tube-fed a great horned owl, or raised orphaned songbirds until release?), but I have found a career I find meaningful and important- and finally, I can chatter about animals all day to anyone who will hear, something my childhood self would have loved and dreamed of.
28. Do you collect anything?
While I have an impressive collection of Bakugan (both new and old gen), I think you in particular would appreciate my collection of Tiny Birds of Various Mediums (mostly chickens):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
38. fave song at the moment?
You’re going to get a couple (forgive me) because I cannot just pick one-
(I love this one)
That’s all from me! Thank you so much for the questions, Mouse!

I was at the Ready Player 3 live show yesterday and I can safely say it was one of the greatest things I have ever experienced. I was one of the lucky people who got to go up on stage and hug my biggest idols. I was so afraid I would faint OTL Thank you so much for coming to Sweden. I hope you enjoyed your stay, please come back at any time <3

Apen or Faramir, Endeavour "Neverland" or "Coda", Leverage "The Wedding Job" or "The Juror #6 Job", Chara's wardrobe or Melete's wardrobe, beaches or prairies, The Perilous Gard or Fire and Hemlock, St. Claire or Alvarado siblings, swords or shields, Agatha Christie or Ngaio Marsh, "Gutair" or "Gosh", leaving or coming home, LotR or SW (prequel) costume design, Avidan or Velvare, Enel or Aquil for creating a distraction, Sutcliff or McKillip, Bhatair or Berlyne in a tight spot, & Ansam or Melly.
YIKES
Okay - first a disclaimer I should have included in the tags when I reblogged that prompt post: sadly this will not be responded to in graphics (I’ve seen a lot of “this or that” graphic responses and those are great but I don’t have the guts to take that on. Though. I could try to do one random graphic response per ask/asker.... Hum...
[Prompt post]-->[Make me choose]
Back to the ask at hand: quite a lot of tough ones!!! There will be spoilers.
Apen or Faramir - sorry sports fans, Apen is really an excellent young man but there may not even be a single character who is better than Faramir in my mind.
Endeavour “Neverland” or “Coda” - “Neverland” is not one of my preferred episodes even taken alone, as the subject matter is too dark for me personally. Meanwhile “Coda” functions as “the usual, not to say obligatory,” crime show bank robbery episode. XD That’s a good thing, because I enjoy bank robbery episodes. :P Of course the ending with Joan leaving is ROUGH but she lives so it’s okay; there’s always next season!
Leverage “The Wedding Job” or “The Juror #6 Job” - These are both good, but while I really enjoyed the mafia spoofs and fake FBI act from Parker and Hardison in “The Wedding Job”, courtroom drama takes the cake for me. :)
Chara’s wardrobe or Melete’s wardrobe - probably Melete’s, because Chara defaults to a more girly, pink look. Melete also tends to be more eyecatching and interesting (if unpractical).
beaches or prairies - beaches! As long as it’s not crowded (I’d take a private prairie over a packed beach any day).
The Perilous Gard or Fire and Hemlock - Perilous Gard all the way!! Fire and Hemlock is certainly a good book (and I need to reread it for sure) but The Perilous Gard got into my heart immediately and is dear favorite. Kate and Christopher are somewhere near the top on my nebulous list of ships.
St. Claire or Alvarado siblings - !!! After a lot of consideration, I’m picking the St. Claires. I think. They need more love (not from fans - just in general).
swords or shields - my first instinct is to go with swords, but maybe that’s just because they get more screentime (or page space hah). Sting and Anduril come to mind, and of course The Sword of Martin the Warrior! However I actually am especially attached to Captain American and Wonder Woman specifically because they use shields more than swords/guns/etc. (though, of course Captain America uses his offensively quite a lot. It’s the concept, okay?! XD )
Agatha Christie or Ngaio Marsh - definitely Ngaio Marsh. She can be a bit hit-or-miss (her penchant for the theater and formula for wrapping up endings are a bit worn), but some of her books are almost comparable to Dorothy Sayers mysteries - while Agatha Christie never comes close, in my opinion. Christie always seems a bit flippant about crime, even when she’s trying to be serious. And while Christie’s settings are good, Marsh’s are sometimes magnificent. Also I think Ngaio Marsh’s secondary characters go deeper than Christie’s. Anyway. Thank you for coming to my TED talk, as they say. :”P
“Gutair” or “Gosh” - if that second one is Gudrun and Joshua, that’s a no from me. The main thing I’ve always been disappointed in Joshua over is how interested he was in Gudrun while Bhatair was still ... in the picture (I was going to say “eating” but that’s just weird and vague). And once he wasn’t, they sure got married awfully quick. :/ Plus, despite all the tragedy, “Gutair” has my support.
leaving or coming home - COMING HOME. Leaving has almost nothing to recommend it (except that it sets you up to come home at some point). I suppose if one were to leave WITH family then that would be okay. But I haven’t gotten to experience that lately.
Costume design: LotR or SW Prequels - Both have their good points, but based on sheer wearability of my favorite pieces in each, LotR wins by a long shot. Padme’s outfits are my favorite in SW, but by and large they look far from comfortable-for-everyday, let alone adventure-ready.
Avidan or Velvare - Avidan, because Velvare constantly has me wondering why I even care about him, whereas Avidan is a lonely prince doing the best he can despite being raised by that jerk. Avidan is making mistakes but I believe he’s trying to do what is best for the country, and I also believe hope he wants to do better. Velvare has yet to convince me of that, and seems driven more by his own interests, affected by whatever phase the moon is in (I mean, come on, he’s made some strange decisions). He’s shown some remorse but has yet to try to change, as far as I can see (arguably Avidan is in the same place in that regard, which is why I said “hope” hah).
Enel or Aquil for creating a distraction - !!! Another hard one, but more entertaining to consider. Seems like six of one, half a dozen of another, to me. XD Aquil seems to have a much better grasp of what he can do, curse-wise, which might come in handy. Except he frequently accidentally (? presumably) messes up on directions. Meanwhile Enel would probably go about following the plan and then end up breaking his leg or a window or accidentally tripping you. He reminds me of Sid the Sloth in Ice Age, now that I think about it. Aquil is probably the safest choice after all.
Sutcliff or McKillip - Sutcliff!!!!! McKillip’s books are good but she’s never gotten to me on an emotional level like Sutcliff. Also I can’t connect as well with her settings, they usually feel a little too castle-on-a-cloud. Enjoyable to read about, but not as livable as the landscapes in Sutcliff’s books.
Bhatair or Berlyne in a tight spot - Bhatair might be a better fighter, but I’d trust Berlyne to have my back and do what’s right, no matter what.
Ansam or Melly - Melly is sweet, and no offense meant to dog fans, but I prefer horses. Especially such a smart and loyal horse as Ansam! Too bad we haven’t seen more of him. Yet. Now, if it were Pigeondove vs. Ansam... that’s a little harder.

Since it's winter, what about an ice skating date that ends in getting hot chocolate and cuddles by a fire place for Rubberbang??
Alright, so I'm a bit rusty, but this prompt really inspired me because what's cuter than pining during winter time? o hope you like it!
"What do you say we go ice skating?"
Dan looked up from his phone to see that Ross was wearing a heavy jacket, a beanie and a pair of gloves, which were all color coordinated, and which, in the end, made him look very much like a smurf. Dan beamed up at his friend. "I like the look you got going on," he teased, "It really suits you, Papa S."
It took Ross merely a second to get the joke, which ultimately ended in a frown and a glare. Dan giggled lightly.
"Oh, come on, it'll be fun. I could finally show off my moves to someone who would actually appreciate them." As Ross said the word 'moves,' he shook his shoulders seductively, scoring him a blush from Dan.
"Ross, I've never been ice skating before, I wouldn't know where to start, and it's really cold outside-" Dan started to come up with as many excuses as possible, because he seriously did not want Ross to see how embarrassed Dan could make himself by sucking at skating. He'd fall on his ass a countless number of times, and he preferred Ross to see him in a better, more pleasant light.
Plus, it really was cold.
But before Dan could go on any longer, Ross cut him off. "Oh, it'll be loads of fun, I can even teach you how to make a figure eight. And there's nothing like beating the cold with a jacket, dude." With that, Ross promptly threw Dan's own jacket onto him, covering his face- where was he even hiding it? Dan never saw him with it a moment ago- and once Dan's face was uncovered, he was startled by the sight of Ross standing so closely to him, peering down at him with a pair of dauntless eyes and hands on his hips.
"I dare you to fight me on this, Danny. You're going ice skating with me and you're going to have tons of fun, and there's nothing you can do about it."
The long-haired man glanced back up at Ross, not only having second thoughts, but thirds, and though he felt nothing but anxiety about the whole scenario, he just couldn't say no to that face; and during the drive on the way there, when Dan was brought upon a memory of Ross which he will never forget (Ross had been singing loudly and smirking cunningly to the lyrics of a song, waving his arms in the air carelessly as Dan watched and laughed his heart out from the passenger seat), he suddenly felt as if everything was going to be okay.
<- -> <- -> <- ->
When the time finally came to stand up on stage and sing (or, in this case, stand on the ice and skate), Dan got stage fright fairly quickly and immediately wished to be in his own home.
There, Ross stood before him, almost looking gallant with his puffy coat and black ice skates, with another famous Ross smile playing at his face. "Are you ready to go?"
On the contrary, Dan was not ready to go. Not ready at all. He could barely walk with the stupid skates on, and they made him wobble clumsily. He felt reminiscent of a drunken man looking for his car.
"No, Ross-" Dan mumbled, sounding doubtful, as he turned to face Ross, "I've never done this before. I can't even stand on my own. I thought I could, it looked so easy at first glance, but I don't think I can do this."
All at once, all the anxiety weighed him down because Ross was about to see just how stupid Dan Avidan really was. Ross, the teasing and sometimes evil man he came to know and love... and Ross, the man he would sometimes think of late at night when his insomnia got the best of him, and maybe he liked reminiscing of him at four in the morning, or any time of day, really-
The fact was obvious and simple; he desperately wished that Ross would see him the way that he, himself saw him. And quite frankly, he was scared.
Ross couldn't help but feel bad; at that moment, Dan looked like a child- so small and insecure and frightened, "That's okay, buddy, I got you."
At the feeling of his own arm around Ross's shoulder, Dan smiled to himself and felt his heart beat a little faster. Before Dan knew it, he was gliding across the ice elegantly and gracefully (not counting the couple times he almost slipped, even with a human walking stick).
Back at the Grump Office, and much later in the evening, Dan was being held by Ross, once again with his arm slung over the other. The two wore the same faces; warm, happy, content. In front of the fire, they drank Dan's favorite drink (hot chocolate, of course) and talked quietly amongst themselves until day turned into night.
"It's getting late, Ross finally said. "Do you- I mean, I could stay a bit longer, if you want."
Dan stared back into the crystal eyes of blue that looked upon him with need. "Is that what you want?" Dan asked hesitantly.
Ross tried to cover up his smile with his hand, because oh my gosh, this guy, but Dan caught his wrist before he could get there. Dan was also grinning wildly with a look of mischief that made Ross giggle nervously. "What are you smiling at?" Dan inquired.
"Nothing, you idiot. Come here," Ross barely gave Dan any time to follow his instructions before pulling him closer to his side.
Ross smelled like cologne and winter. Ross felt warm and comforting. Ross felt like everything in that moment.
Tell him, Dan thought. Tell him how you feel. Just say it. I think I love you- no, that's too strong. I think I like you. I think I like you.
"I think I-"
Bam, the kiss struck him like lightning or thunder in the middle of a peaceful rainy afternoon. His lips were soft, his hands were warm, and they were everywhere- his hair, his face, his everything. What began so soft and gentle stopped too quickly for Dan, and instantly, he craved for more.
Ross cradled his face in ome hand, his other now dropped to his side. A moment of shock and need passed through both of them before Ross spoke softly, though certain and calm; "Is this okay?"
Dan swallowed- and yes, it did feel as if it were the loudest thing happening in the room, just like on TV- and answered possibly a little too quickly. "This is more than okay."
He had so much more he wanted to say. He wanted to say it's been years or you make me so happy and you make me feel so safe, and especially, I love you, but he quickly found that his brain no longer wished to serve him from the amount of shock it had endured, but it hardly mattered because Dan did the next best thing- he kissed him again. And the act itself said so much more than words ever could.
