If all your activism involves using new language to justify inaction, then it’s not really activism is it?

okay wrt that other ask asking abt bottom pete
i also find it interesting that despite a lot of people suddenly preferring bottom pete, there's still a lot of recent bottom patrick fics coming out.... but ig not everyone reads or writes fic so idk. actually thinking abt it, im not even sure why it's become so popular?? /gen
another iteration that comes to mind is petekey, like especially on tiktok 😭
and also i want to ask abt the tags bc what is your interpretation of patrick as a bottom then...
ok thats all thank u for letting me ramble and like i read your blog like the morning paper everyday 💜
aw anon you're so sweet thank you 🥺❤️ thank you for the ask and it means a lot that you like MY ramblings lol
so in terms of the preferred dynamics of the pairing changing, i think this shift probably happened sometime in the last five years; imo it was sort of a slow crawl and then the emergence of smfs sped things up because fob gained a lot of new fans and also attracted old fans who were still around but maybe not creating anything during the gap between mania and smfs, whether it was art or fic. primarily i think it has to do with the fandom's general perception of pete and patrick having changed since the 2013-2019 era
the fact that they've grown and changed as people over the last decade (and when speaking about fob in its entirety, the last two decades) has in part something to do with this; fandoms are inherently predisposed to tropes, imo, which can often lead to characters (this term i think is appropriate since we are talking about fiction written about real people and to a lesser degree the people as they actually exist themselves) being shoehorned into fitting the confines of a specific archetype based on surface level aspects of their personality or physical attributes. patrick and pete for a significant amount of the band's history were perceived as sort of a wallflower and bad boy combo; this wasn't entirely incorrect, and imo most fic authors wrote them with a degree of nuance rather than purely relying on archetype, but you could usually find some form of that interpretation of their characters in most fic or fandom discussion relating to their personalities and relationship with each other. because of this and the fact that it was common in the 2000s/2010s to work within a context of assigning arbitrary personality traits to sex positions, such as 'bottoms are shy/tops are outgoing' (and with bottom always referring to sub bottom and top always referring to dom top), this lead to total bottom patrick cultural victory etc (obviously i agree with the outcome here but i don't completely agree with the journey it took to get there lol)
in part patrick and pete both had a hand in this perception of themselves; patrick mostly during the 2010s and pete mostly during the 2000s. like i said i think these are both actual aspects of their personalities rather than what some people claim, especially in regards to patrick (that the sweater paws era was all an act), but the choice to exacerbate this image of themselves was definitely for PR purposes. imo they both still kind of do this but in different ways; the intent is the same but the form is different. i don't mean to be cynical and i do think they are happy and settled and that their expressions of self are mostly genuine but they are still celebrities and i think they're both relieved to be considered by a majority of fans, who are largely unwilling to talk about their (p2's) flaws, as 'soft' and non-threatening
ig the dark haired top/light haired bottom thing could have also played a part in the popularity of bottom patrick but i don't really think that's the case here because of. the inherent way that they are lol. i feel like some people would argue that the popularity of patrick as specifically a sub bottom during 2013-2019 can in part be attributed to his whiteness and the conflation of whiteness with femininity and bottoming as an inherently feminine and therefore submissive act, which i think probably has merit enough to be acknowledged in any discussion of an interracial ship especially irt to m/m and f/f, but i don't think it's particularly relevant to peterick because i do not buy that patrick has an especially domineering presence that is being subverted in order to incorrectly portray him as submissive, which is something that does happen in a number of ships where one character is white and the other character is black or brown. i think there ARE domineering parts of patrick's personality, and that he craves control, especially wrt his art and his creative process, but we also know that he often gives in to pete's suggestions and that pete's instincts are usually correct whereas patrick's are usually wrong. this doesn't scream hypercompetent in control dom top to me and it doesn't scream service top either
anyway. i think patrick's change in fashion and aesthetics played a not insignificant part in this shift in dynamics; pete's self expression has always been relatively androgynous, but that isn't inherently connected to his gender or his personality. i don't think he's ever done or said anything to imply that he's anything other than a cis man who sometimes likes to wear skirts. which, i mean, there's a not insignificant discussion to be had about his relationship with gender as a biracial black man but this answer is already too long and i don't want to get into that now lol. so patrick grows a beard, pete bleaches his hair and grows it out, oh they're masc and femme now, patrick is a bear (despite being straight?), masc = top and femme = bottom, etc. some people will argue that this has always been the case (patrick being masc and pete being femme) but i'm going to be honest, i think pete and patrick both leaned toward androgyny in self expression until around futct and even then i don't consider patrick's street wear as being super butch or whatever
people also like to discuss patrick's weight as a factor in the perception of him as either a top or a bottom but i've seen too many claims that there's an epidemic of fat men being portrayed as sub bottoms simply because they're fat and i have literally no idea where this came from and i really don't want to lend any legitimacy to that argument because i think it's ridiculous so i'm not going to get into it. but just know i think it's silly and cope
so i think partially the change in dynamics has come from the manner in which they present themselves within the public sphere; patrick reads now as more masculine and outgoing and pete reads as more shy and feminine
i do think that the interpretation of them as characters by people who prefer bottom pete and write fic is more nuanced than people who don't write fic and are just kind of going with the flow (same with people who were around in 2013-2019 when bottom patrick was more popular); i still don't agree with the majority of their analysis but considering they're creating actual art there's generally more critical thought involved than just following a fandom trend imo
fob is also not really a fic based fandom, honestly; fanart tends to get more interaction and fandoms that skew younger don't seem to write fic as much. this is kind of a sidebar but i am actually genuinely worried about the use of chatgpt and what it means for the writing and critical reasoning skills of young people in the west (i don't know if this is as big of a problem in nonwestern countries) and imo the manner in which it's wormed its way into all aspects of academic and creative life, whether professional or amateur, is frightening. but anyway i think a lot of the authors who write or prefer bottom patrick have been around a lot longer (just, like, in life, but also in the fandom lol) and since the younger fans aren't really interested in writing fic, it makes sense that there's still an even split on ao3 despite bottom pete seeming to be more popular with the greater fandom
anyway like i said in that other ask i do think there are situations in which pete would bottom; like, he is not topping andy hurley, lol, and probably not travie, but i just don't see him bottoming as realistic, long term, or as a constant, in his relationship with patrick. the time at which pete came into patrick's life means he was both an authority figure and peer to him; he guided patrick professionally and, at times, personally. pete viewed him as his responsibility, and he was protective of patrick in a way that he wasn't with joe (i've spoken about this before, and while i do think that maybe this has to do with pete maturing somewhat from twenty to twenty-two/twenty-three, there is a world of difference between what pete allowed his friends to do to joe and the way pete spoke of patrick with reverence and protected him, to the point that patrick's release the bats skit was him drinking garlic butter). and while i don't know if i would say the same currently lol i think pete was once a highly competent and successful businessman; he deeply understood the culture of the 2000s/early 2010s and for all the stress and heartache it brought him, i think there were aspects of fame and that feeling of being on top of the world that he very much enjoyed. i think he likes control, but in contrast to patrick, he's far more competent and adept at gaining and keeping himself in a position that affords him that control
has their relationship evolved to the point that they're on more equal footing? yeah i think so, but i also think that your dynamic when you meet someone is going to remain, in part, a constant, even as your relationship evolves and changes. so there's that, for me, that push-and-pull power dynamic where pete is almost always the one who comes out on top (lol), and while i understand the appeal in subverting this wrt peterick, in an abstract sense, i just don't see the evidence in their relationship that that would realistically happen or that pete would want it to happen
moving on to patrick, the reason i said his stroke game is mid is because obviously he does top he's straight but i don't think he's particularly good at it; he fumbles through a lot of life (that doesn't involve his art) and i think this translates to his sexual expression. more realistically, i could see him as a dom bottom because of how bossy he is; this i think would be something pete would enjoy because he does desire submission somewhat but it doesn't involve penetration, which i believe he considers a degrading act, at least to some degree. tbh i don't really think pete's dick game is bomb or whatever lol but i think he's better than patrick. and i know this is a matter of contention because of the specific way in which patrick's misogyny manifests and how defensive he was about not being gay, but i think he's too autistic to really give a shit about bottoming; maybe he could even be convinced to take the strap because he would just get to lie there and not do anything like the way elisa cooks all his food for him. i think this could actually also be argued with pete potentially but it would be more difficult to bring him around to it lol
i have more to say but i think i should cut myself off now 😭 i do want to say though re the thing about petekey; i was actually just telling a friend how petekey is similar to bottom pete because they're both so popular and yet the amount of fanworks doesn't seem to match their supposed popularity

Well shit this ace attorney au case whatever thing has a rough outline.
Frick.
Well I’ll get down what I got now before I forget when I get back into the persona zone:tm:
This is beyond just like playing with giving Bobby a niece this turned into a future fic sort of situation so uh yeah imma ramble
There will be spoilers for AA5 below soooo
So this would be another time skip game which takes place roughly 8 years post duel destinies (spirit of justice is acknowledged I just haven’t played/watched the game in a while so all that matters is Apollo is off doing his own cool spinoff game adventures)
Our protagonists are Athena Cykes who’s mentoring the newest attorney to join the wright anything agency!… currently unnamed guy who I’ve been calling Pathos because I kinda want that to be his last name.
I’ll list down themes and the general vibe I want this ‘game’ to have since uh at most it might be a future fic.
‘Gameplay’
For all intense and purposes this is the closest we’re getting to Athena cyckes ace attorney, depending on how the writing goes it might actually just be my pitch for the game but some ocs are here because I’m normal about them. The pov would swap between Athena who’s come into her own as a lawyer (it’s been 8 years) and is mostly trying to do her best to mentor the young attorney who sought her out specifically because of her psychology specialty.
And then there’s Pathos, who since Apollo isn’t here is the new punching bag straight man! I’m still developing him but he’s a more serious/level headed attorney, who’s biggest flaw is he can’t be as unbiased as he wants to. Like it or not he’s swayed by his own emotions more than he wants. Pathos’s ability is that he can read peoples expressions and tell if they’re hiding how they truly feel/if their expressed emotions don’t line up with their words/can pick up if someone is trying to smother theirs emotions. Idk the specifics might change but my idea is it’s like an investigation version of apollos lie detection and Athena’s mood matrix, but instead the contradiction you point out is if their emotional response doesn’t line up with their words.
Pathos grew up in a situation where learning to read if someone was about to snap was how he survived, he learned this skill as a means of survival, it’s not something he was born with.
Aaand that ties into the overall theme.
Emotions.
How they’re expressed, how they’re smothered, and how they drive someone.
Listen if the main mentor is Athena there’s gonna be a lot of emotion talk, I’m thinking her mood matrix is primarily for the court room while Pathos’ thing is for investigations primarily, but they can cross over.
Uh anyways what’s the big case:tm: for this ‘game.’
That fucking spy orginization duel destinies can’t just drop that and NOT ELABORATE so I will and am. The past case is that a few years ago a deal was made with the phantom that got interpol names and locations of the phantom’s handler and others who worked for the unnamed spy orginization. A raid was done and many criminals and spy agents (assets??) arrested, however not all were captured and importantly in this story, the phantoms main handler (and trainer??) wasn’t caught. And the background story is that Simon is working with Interpol to track down those stragglers.
Notably, Poppy Fulbright (who’s a detective now that’s she’s grown) has also been helping but she’s uh… kinda been doing her own investigation. She wants Justice for her uncle and isn’t afraid to get involved in stuff she shouldn’t to that end. Sure hope that doesn’t get her in trouble haha!
Uh anyways other notable things I’m turning over in my head-
The main prosecutor is Eustace Winner/Sebastian Debest. Because I love him and I’m biased. I think at this point he’s come into his own as a prosecutor but he very much isn’t the best around. He still gets hung up on his words or how to say what he means, but he searches for the truth and always aims to do his best on every case he works. I just think the prosecution team being goofballs who genuinely want to find the truth would be a fun contrast (plus with Pathos being more serious the side characters get to be more goofy as a treat)
The assistant to pathos is a school friend who I think is studying to be a judge? Idk she’s planning to go into law at least, she’s also only a little younger than pathos (lawyer oc is 20 while assistant is like 19) I’m still figuring out her personality dynamic but leaning towards she’s the middle ground between the serious Pathos and energetic and bubbly Athena.
I love the judge but I don’t think he can survive another time skip, he can retire, therefore Juniper Woods is the new judge in this essay I will- (I’m not against judge Courtney who I’m forgetting the new offical localized name of being the judge either but listen listen lesbians. Gay people if you will. Plus it’d be funny for pathos to witnes his mentor and the judge lady flirting outside of court he’s just ????? It’s great)
Pheonix is around but at this point is very much letting Athena handle things, wt most he gets a few camios, this is Athena’s ‘game’ he’s off with his husband edgeworth or something. Trucy is also around and I think is doing well. If she doesn’t show up say she’s on tour for a magic show or something and pheonix is so proud.
Apollo is mentioned only at the start and it’s a framing device for the introduction as Athena is writing him to tell him about the newest rookie she’s going to be mentoring. Again, he can be off doing his own spin-off adventures.
Honestly it’s a running gag that pathos keeps getting thrown off by how many people poppy has claimed in her weird found family thing, she calls his mentor auntie, prosecutor winner uncle (playing with the idea Eustace and Bobby are half siblings for my au stuff so bringing that in here), the scary samurai lawyer uncle, some dead detective is her uncle, and it keeps getting weirder and pathos just is so lost. (And a little jealous she’s got such a connected support network)
Also. The fate of the Phantom is kept vague until it’s revealed for certain towards the end of case 4 leading into 5. Because it was a bit of a touchy case internationally a lot of things were kept tight lipped about the phantom and wether they were executed or not. Officially, the phantom was executed for their crimes after giving all the information they could.
Unofficially, they cut a deal to work with Interpol to take down the spy organization they came from, and any future ones (though they are essentially working off their sentence)
Honestly idk if the phantom would have a ‘true face’ at this point or has claimed one that looks suspiciously like Bobby Fulbrights idk this would tie into some investigation game thing with Simon and also au stuff and I have not thought about that too much just yet. This is all vaugly thought out and subject to change.
If it wasn’t clear the lead detective is Poppy Fulbright. Though Emma could show up for forensics idk I’d need to double check what she’s up to post spirit of justice
There’s either a new youngest Payne brother or the first case prosecutor is the son/nephew of one of the Payne brothers. I’m undecided if it’s funnier if there’s just more brothers that keep spawning and becoming prosecutors or if this has become a family occupation the next generation of Payne’s are continuing. Dealers choice.
Uh… ok final note
I’m still really vague on the cases of this game but I want an underlining theme to be emotions being surpreased/hidden causing harm.
Like a disgruntled wife finally snapping, or secrets being held for the sake of feelings causing a bigger blowout than if things were communicated, someone hiding their true feelings under a mask of indifference that sort of thing.
Ties into the theme and means I can justify mood matrix scenes because fuck you I love that gimic a lot and I’d this is ‘Athena’s game’ the fic then I get to shove in all the court therapy!!!! Nobody can stop me!!!!
Uh anyways yeah that’s what I got so far, any comments or questions are appreciated.
Like I said I won’t be working on this seriously for a while I got other writing projects I wanna finish/plan out before sitting down to work on a fic that has at least 5 to 6 mysteries in it when I’ve only written like TWO at this point.
So yeah ramble over hope you enjoyed ^_^

i dont think i can do “artist spaces” anymore because i’m really stupid. - ramble post with no point or central focus aside from making myself feel less weird
like…. i’m stupid. and i like it! But every artist i meet is like some kind of super genius and irs kind of nuts, everyone’s got such vision and intelligence and honed skill and all these interesting things about their lives and practice away from the arts and i’m some kind of inert orb who doesn't have much soul in her work aside from "isnt this cool like a animes" or "this is how im feeling". at least when it comes to Drawinf a Pitures.
i can deal with spaces where everyone’s just hanging out and Some People Happen to be Artists but spaces primarily composed of people steeped in the arts actually remind me that i'm a socially inept cavewoman who barely knows how to use the microwave. sufficiently talented artists ('sufficient' referring to people who have labelled themself an artist and have been online for more than 2 years) who i end up talking to online are 80% of the time some kind of Art Student Med Student Math Prodigy or Mentally Ill Genius Socially Inept Outsider Artist with insane Honed Unique Skill and when you apply that 80% to a whole lump of people in a GC or a Discord Server where the other 20% don't really talk there it gets real mentally exhausting as someone generally quite unimpressive and classically unskilled.
i dunno. I just kind of find it interesting that people with such talent, skill, wit, and (as ive repeated endlessly) intelligence are always drawn to the arts. a lot of my friends ive made who are very smart people ive learned 3 years into the friendship they used to do painting studies and are some kind of closet picasso while ive been showing them my meager collection of shale and sediment. is the pursuit of the artistic a mark of something deeper? what must one’s character lack to not seek creative self expression? what separates a creator from a consumer, and the blind from the perceptive? is creating art for the simple purpose of “cool and fun” shallow? does that answer change with ones talent? what is shallow art? is there truly such a thing?
cough
anyway. i’m just kind of a dumb baby, and it makes me sad that i never really feel like i can talk about art with most people because i don’t know anything. i’m not looking for construction or anything, i just want to be able to say “isn’t making something fun” without being reminded of my own inadequacies. i feel like art shouldn’t have to be this “smart” thing, and it isn’t, but art itself draws in the smart, and so like in many other spaces i feel a bit outcasted. obviously the solution here is to talk to MINORS from TIKTOK (gets cancelled)
but i really dunno. i feel stupid a lot these days and i feel like there aren’t any spaces that fit me, even when on paper these should be the spaces i should be in. even off the paper, anywhere i go i can’t help but feel like a bit of a bump on a log. like an erroneously flipped bit. i’m the stray ray from the sun beamed into the nintendo 64. that’s how i feel among other people, no matter who i’m with. it’s strange, because i really do like myself. i’ve passed a lot of the self deprecation and self doubt that used to chain me, and is it strange to say i believed casting those aside would help me find a bit more belonging among other people?
it hasn’t! life’s the same! maybe worse? i’m not self actualized or anything, but i think i’ve really grown as a person, so it’s sort of sucky that i fit better in place as a problem child. well i suppose as the Old Ones spoke, every group needs The Rick Friend. meeting people is hard. wanting to stay among people i’ve met is even harder. i like to blame a lot of it on the Modern Internet and the sheer amount of how many people have invaded my once cozy corners. with The Net these days being less of a space for Niche Freaks and instead being Grandma And Your Little Cousin Just Saw You Post Your Wiener On Instagram i’d think it’s only natural i’m running into less likeminded people. but i dunno. i feel like some of it’s my fault. i’m a weird little giblet of a girl, aren’t i? and man do i EVER hate people. I’m a big hater.
everybody i meet these days just makes me drool because everyone’s some kind of Valorant Edater or Reddit Object Show Minor or The Hypersexual or Someone I’m Too Intimidated By or Someone Who Does Not Want To Be Talking To Me. where’s Literally Anything Else. Everyone i meet these days fits into those categories. Give me anything else. What is wrong with my Spaces
i really don’t know how people make friends online these days. i’m always posting these days about Haha I Need Friends and Haha I Need A Wife that falls endlessly into the empty infinite void (much like now) for a reason. no matter where i seem to go, i walk dragging my feet, half-lidded and unengaged with a soft scowl on my face. i’ll figure it out, right? i’ll certainly make new friends, right? because i have to, right?

If Ramlethal was emotionless in XRD then how come she knows how to throw her hands up as a surrender? Because in the first image she somewhat resembles a surrender but it clearly shows that she doesn't want her eyes changed but what is she really thinking in that moment?(hope you can caption this as if what Ramlethal would say)
Second image: isn't she supposed to be fine with death? because she doesn't really care if she dies but when it comes to a nuclear explosion she somewhat doesn't want to die? And she's showing the same throwing her hands up as a surrender
Did she learn it from the humans, her mother or Elphelt?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First: It's not that she was emotionless... it's that she didn't have an awareness of her ability to emote (nor was she ready to accept that side of herself at first).
Second: Most reactions Ramlethal has are much more expressive in Revelator than they were in Xrd Sign if you were to compare.
The latter explosion is during her encounter with Dizzy which doesn't happen until Rev2. (Meaning she's emotionally matured some during that time).
I have to frequently remind people that both Xrd games have COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORIES:
Xrd: Sign has its own self-contained story mode (the Arcade Episodes take place before the main story). In Xrd Sign, Ramlethal was still learning about her human-like heritage.
Xrd: Revelator (and Rev2), the Arcade Episodes take place a " few weeks after" Xrd Sign and also during the main story simultaneously, After Story Episodes take place AFTER Revelator's main story.
In Revelator, Ramlethal had just learned that her sister Elphelt was taken by Ariels and was determined to rescue her, she also learned a great deal about being human from Sin and Sol as well.
As for Strive, Ramlethal is beginning to understand the true nature of her strength as a Gear, but she has also grown in fortitude in learning how to be more human, and the unique value that brings with everyone new she meets and comes across.
Compared to and in contrast to the original Valentine, Valentine still had emotions, but she did not understand them... she understood them even less that Ramlethal and Elphelt did, but it's primarily explained that Ramlethal never truly understood her Mother's motives for giving her emotions alongside her sister Elphelt.
It is later explained that Ariels wanted to create her own "version" of Humanity and that her children were a "legacy" of that ideal, though her first child was a failure to some extent.
Because of their connections with Justice, both sisters were treated differently.
Ramlethal couldn't reach the ideal form that Ariels was seeking from Justice, so she was used as a disposable decoy, though that was not her original purpose, Ariels felt it better to treat her that way than to simply treat her as "yet another imitation human" (as she considered all of current humanity to be fake).
Elphelt was even closer to the ideal of Justice, but she was even more rebellious than Ramlethal because she was given even more freedom to tap in to her emotions, which became something of a cursed burden to her.
Had their roles reversed, Ramlethal would've likely been more than willing to sacrifice her soul to Ariels' ideal in place of Elphelt... and Elphelt would be even "more ignorant" of the truth than her inquisitive sister.
But, it is thanks to the burdens carried by Sin Kiske and Bedman that the both of them were spared that fate... not to mention Sol's determination to free them from the past he was burdened with.

Week 6 - A #CancelCulture Crisis (TW - Sexual assault and abuse)
Tumblr media
Nowadays whenever someone does or says something wrong, be it defending a convicted criminal or something much more trivial, the first instinct a lot of people on the internet have is to “cancel them” In recent years the term “Cancel Culture” grown ever more prominent, with nearly everyone who uses the internet regularly being familiar with this term. But what is “Cancel Culture”, and is it actually useful?
The basic dictionary definition of “Cancel Culture” is defined as “the practice or tendency of engaging in mass canceling as a way of expressing disapproval and exerting social pressure” (Merriam-Webster, n.d.) In simpler terms, cancel culture is a collective boycott done by the masses or common-folk like you and I directed towards something or someone after a perceived wrongdoing. It’s also a phenomenon that happens primarily on its birthplace, the internet, and is usually used to shed light on something horrible that has happened for the purpose of seeking justice for the victims or prevention from it happening again.
Social media has also been pivotal in cancel culture’s rise. When we think about some of the prominent “cancellations” that pushed cancel culture into the forefront of everyone’s minds and vocabulary, disgraced celebrities like R. Kelly, Louis C. K. and Kevin Spacey usually come to mind given their various sexual assault and abuse crimes were heavily talked about when cancel culture was becoming prominent. (Lo-Booth, 2024) Hashtags like #MuteRKelly were plastered across social media, an incident which can be considered a success for cancel culture and what it stands for.
Born in 2017 and popularized in 2018, #MuteRKelly was a campaign launched by two grassroots activists seeking to put him behind bars for his numerous crimes. And these crimes weren’t new either. For years rumors of his abhorrent conduct towards young black and brown children and especially young women were circulating with numerous attempts being made to draw attention to them but to no avail. However, in the eve of a concert R. Kelly was set to have in Atlanta, the hashtag was launched and quickly morphed into an international campaign to bring R. Kelly to justice. (Barnes, 2021) And it worked! In June of 2022 R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison for his crime of using his celebrity status to sexually abuse children and women. (Savage, 2023)
Now while that’s all well and good, there have been times cancel culture has backfired spectacularly. Remember earlier when I mentioned Louis C.K.? In 2017 he was hit with allegations from five different women who accused the comedian of masturbating in their presence as well as committing other sexually inappropriate acts towards them. While he previously denied the allegations ultimately C.K. admitted to his wrongdoings and spent the next five years laying low in the media’s eye whilst still selling out dozens of comedy shows. And then he won a Grammy. (Jones, 2022)
In 2022 C.K. took home the Grammy for “best comedy album” from the 64th Grammy awards beating out five other nominees. Naturally the internet was in uproar, but this isn’t the first time cancel culture has resulted in a temporary solution to a much bigger problem. Musicians like Micheal Jackson and yep, even R. Kelly, saw their music streams increasing despite decades of cancellations for their misdeeds. (ProCon, 2020)
So is cancel culture worth it? Well, yes. But also no…You see it depends on the context of the cancellation. When cancel culture is applied to a serious crime, like say sexual assault, then it’s absolutely worth it and even necessary. Yes streams for R, Kelly’s music did increase but he’s also in jail now and that’s partly thanks to cancel culture. However, the line gets blurred when the crime isn’t as clear cut as that.
In a world where social media condenses complicated social issues into minute-long exposes, something as complicated as human nature gets turned into a black or white issue where if you aren’t on the side of the cancellation it automatically makes you a bad person. In turn what this does is it discourages discussions, when in actuality a nuanced discussion is sometimes all that’s necessary. (Dudenhoefer, 2020)
At the end of the day, maybe that’s what we should all practice going forward. Encouraging discussions and actually listening to what’s being said in those conversations.

Balanced Blade
Swordmaster Mastery WC: 855
True masters of the sword had always come from Sacae.
Bern was home to many a soldier and mercenary, and many of them were accomplished fighters. But there was a difference in intent between Bernese warriors and Sacaen.
Bern was a harsh place built on strength and endurance, a land of conquer or be crushed under the boot of someone else. They were flanked by Lycia and Sacae, their backs to the cold sea; they had no easy outlet should war come to them, nor did they have such ready allies as other countries might be able to broker. Their defense was reliant on being the strongest military force around, challenged only by Etruria on their own.
Bern’s warriors were brutal and efficient. Combat was a way of life, not an artform. Might made right, and so long as you won, that was the end of it. An axe was brutal, a spear was efficient…but the sword – there was a flow, an art, a dance to picking up a blade.
Lloyd had grown up surrounded by skilled fighters. His father and mother had always been prime examples, though his mother had let her sword lay at rest by the time he entered the picture. But there had been others as well, men and women that his father had worked with for many years. His father had tried to teach him the axe, the bow – he wasn’t incapable of picking them up, but they didn’t hold his interest quite as much as the sword did. One of his happiest days as a boy had been when his father had given him a training sword, simple and carved of sturdy wood but beautiful in his eyes.
He learned the basics from several in his father’s group, Brendan putting him through his paces when he had the time. When Linus was old enough, they went at each other like young animals play-fighting to hone their skills. He excelled in what they had to teach him, and it became clear that as he got older, progressed more, he was moving beyond what they could impart. He did not simply want to wield a sword as a tool to kill, he wanted to move with it as if it were another part of his body.
Sacae was just to the north of Bern, wide plains of green and bright open skies. Masters of mounted archery and flawless swordsmanship. They had no cramped and cluttered cities, their many tribes remaining primarily nomadic where other countries had largely settled in place. Outside of trade through Bulgar, Sacae seemed so far removed from the likes of Bern and Lycia, let alone Etruria or Ilia. Their warriors were not motivated by coin or expansion, and it showed in how and why they fought.
Their mounted combat was legendary, standing out amongst wyvern and pegasi riders as well as similarly horse mounted armies. But it was their swordsmen and women, not quite as widespread as their troopers, that Lloyd wished to pursue.
A Bernese warrior could wield a sword, but a Sacaen warrior could be called nothing short of a swordmaster.
Tracking them down was difficult enough, but getting them to teach him their ways was another challenge altogether. It had taken him months to even get the first to see what his current skills were, and it had taken double that time to be considered a worthy enough opponent to face off with them and actually learn their techniques.
But Lloyd wanted it, wanted it more than anything else – though it sat somewhat guilty in his gut to say so.
His father took his skills with a blade proudly, believing that he was striving so hard in order to join Brendan in his endeavors. And that was partly his motivation, but it was the lesser of two halves. Lloyd didn’t have the heart to correct his father’s prideful expression or remarks.
It was a selfish pursuit, a passion. Even as a boy just learning, he had fallen in love with the give and take of swordplay. The flair, the careful but swift movements. It wasn’t just slashing, stabbing, blunt brute force to win. Every action had to have a purpose, had to be smooth, thought out. You weren’t just fighting to win or survive, you were falling into a seamless place that connected the body, mind and spirit all at once.
To him, it was the peak.
It took time to merge the two styles, the power of Bern and the mastery of Sacae. It was the longest time he’d ever spent away from home, from his family, but the results were worth it. It was unique, it was his; it was the purest form of the two halves of his heart.
He would not be the brute force of Bern, nor could he ever claim to be a full master like those of Sacae. But he would earn a title of his own, one that was synonymous with justice in his homeland and spoken of in hushed whispers by those that feared his blade.
White Wolf of the Black Fang.

Random Colour Symbolism in the Human AU
So, people’s hair is incredibly important for storytelling purposes. It tells a lot about the character, from their personal style to their personality. It also can be used to show change like leaving the past behind (think of all the dramatic hair cutting scenes) or becoming who the character actually is (the reveal of their hair actually being curly or dying their hair). All in all, it’s huge in character design.
As is the way characters dress and hold themselves.You can tell a lot by how a character is dressed from their profession to their hobbies to their favourite colours. If they’re wearing an heirloom, it’s implied that family is something that’s important to them, like wearing a suit implies they are business oriented. That’s why animators and illustrators spends so much time focusing on the little details of what the characters wear.
And colour theory is also important. Colours have different meanings and associations in different cultures and areas of the world. They are commonly used to showcase traits for characters long before said traits actually appear.
Why do I mention this? Because a while ago while I was working on character profiles for the human au, I decided to combine these for Johnny. Working in the self expression aspects as well as colour theory (and referencing silverback gorillas for an easter egg), this is what I came up with for the evolution of Johnny’s hair and style between movies. I hope you enjoy!!
***Heads Up: I do have a more severe costume change mentioned as I found his and Meena’s lackluster in the wake of all their growth.***
----------------------------------------
Johnny’s story arc primarily is one of identity and acceptance. In the first movie we see him at first as a mini version of his dad. He’s dressed in his dad’s hand-me-downs and it’s clear he’s trying to mimic the man and make him proud by focusing on their similarities.  He’s clearly trying to come across as intimidating and grown up which really doesn’t work. However, this makes him seem just small and lost and he looks like a little kid trying to play dress up.
Over the course of the movie however, we start to see slight changes in his appearance. During rehearsals and practicing, Johnny’s hair starts to look a little bit more silver (like his dad’s) but only for a few seconds. His posture also improves and he starts to come across as more self assured. He starts to actually look closer to his age. This only relapses when Johnny nearly steals the prize money, again appearing as a smaller version of his dad. When he stops however, the lighting on-screen has his hair come across as silver, when he decides to win the money properly.
During the final performance scene, Johnny’s hair can only be read as silver because of the lighting, with the actual black color only appearing briefly. This is indicative of him becoming his own person and starting to make a path of his own, with or without his father. When we see the two reunite, Johnny’s hair looks almost as silver as his dad’s for a few seconds at the end when his dad leaves, marking him as his own person and his father’s equal not his shadow as well as this being the start of something new for both of them.
In the second movie, Johnny’s casual appearance has drastically changed from the first. His hair is longer than his dad’s and is styled in a way that is clearly his own preference as we see none of his family members with a similar one. It is also silver tipped, just like his dad’s, again marking them as equals. Johnny’s clothing also seems much more fitted and like his own, and despite wearing the same jacket as in the first movie (this time showing his connection to his family instead of mimicking), his clothing is more stylized and has more accessories. It’s clear that Johnny is no longer focusing on being a version of his father and instead on being his own person. He seems much more confident as well, using his appearance to showcase his identity. He looks older. This shows how much he’s changed since we last saw him.
 However, when he’s with Klaus, his hair appears darker and he once again is read by the audience as small. It isn’t until he gets his confidence back that his posture straightens again and his hair seems as silver as it was in the beginning. But, it does go back to essentially all black when Johnny is getting attacked during the performance, showcasing the fear and self-doubt he was feeling at the time. When Johnny starts to fight back again and gain traction in the fight, his hair starts being read as more and more silver until at the end it appears to fully be so. This would mark once again Johnny’s victory in the situation as well as him doing so as himself, not as who someone else wanted him to be, therefore bringing the identity aspect back into the picture.
In all instances when Johnny’s hair can be read as silver, I would hav it so that it does look like a trick of the light, but the symbolism remains. Silverback gorillas are the leaders of their groups. They are in charge. And while the silver colour was a nod towards that base species, it also symbolises maturity, healing, and enlightenment, all things that do appear in Johnny’s story. He matures in both movies from a scared kid to someone who is confident in himself and who he is. He heals his relationship with his father as well, and his relationship with his family is clearly important to him. As for enlightenment, I would argue that his story does touch on that in a broad sense as he is enlightened in the second movie to continue to be himself no matter how many people try to stop him.

The Evolution of Men’s Underwear: Comfort, Style, and Functionality
Tumblr media
Men's underwear has evolved dramatically over the years, adapting to changing trends in fashion, functionality, and cultural expectations. What was once purely utilitarian has grown into a billion-dollar industry, offering a wide variety of styles, materials, and features. From boxers to briefs, and from cotton to high-tech fabrics, men’s underwear now serves not only as a daily essential but also as a symbol of comfort and personal expression.
This article will explore the rich history of  Men's Underwear, the various types available today, and the factors you should consider when choosing the perfect pair. Whether you’re seeking comfort, style, or a blend of both, understanding the nuances of men's underwear can make all the difference in your day-to-day life.
A Brief History of Men’s Underwear
The history of men’s underwear goes back centuries, beginning with simple loincloths worn by early civilizations such as the Egyptians and Romans. These basic garments were designed primarily for modesty and protection. The Middle Ages saw the introduction of longer undergarments called "braies," which were worn beneath tunics and other clothing.
Fast forward to the 20th century, and men's underwear began to evolve into more recognizable forms. The invention of elastic in the 1920s allowed for tighter-fitting underwear, and by the 1930s, the classic brief had been introduced. This marked a significant shift in men’s underwear design, focusing not only on function but also on providing support and comfort. The post-World War II era saw an explosion of new fabrics, styles, and innovations, turning men’s underwear into an essential part of daily attire, with an emphasis on comfort, durability, and aesthetics.
Types of Men’s Underwear
Today, men have an abundance of choices when it comes to  Men's Underwear. Each type of underwear offers unique benefits, depending on an individual’s preferences and needs. Let’s explore the most popular styles of men's underwear:
1. Boxers
Boxers are loose-fitting, providing a relaxed and airy feel. They offer minimal support but maximum breathability, making them a popular choice for men who prefer a more casual and comfortable fit. Boxers are often made from cotton or lightweight fabrics and can be found in a wide variety of patterns and colors.
One of the key benefits of boxers is their versatility. They can double as sleepwear or lounge shorts, making them a multi-purpose option. However, they may not be ideal for active wear or sports, as they lack the snug support that other types of underwear provide.
2. Briefs
Briefs are one of the most traditional styles of men’s underwear, offering full support and a snug fit around the waist and groin. They cover the essential areas but leave the legs exposed, providing a more streamlined appearance. Briefs are ideal for men who want a minimalist design that offers comfort and support without excess fabric.
This style is popular among athletes and men who lead an active lifestyle, as briefs offer a secure fit and keep everything in place during physical activities. They come in a variety of rises, from low to high waistbands, giving men options depending on their comfort preferences.
3. Boxer Briefs
As the name suggests, boxer briefs combine the best features of boxers and briefs. They provide the coverage and support of briefs with the longer leg of boxers, offering a comfortable yet snug fit. Boxer briefs are considered one of the most versatile styles of men’s underwear, suitable for both everyday wear and more active lifestyles.
Boxer briefs are often made from moisture-wicking materials, which makes them a great choice for men who engage in sports or live in warmer climates. This hybrid style has grown in popularity over the years due to its balanced approach to comfort and support.
4. Trunks
Trunks are a modern twist on the boxer brief, with a shorter leg length and a tighter fit. They are often chosen by men who want the support of briefs but prefer a more contemporary look. Trunks are sleek, form-fitting, and can be worn comfortably under slim-fit jeans or tailored trousers without bunching or riding up.
Trunks are often made from a blend of fabrics, including cotton, spandex, and microfiber, providing both comfort and flexibility. This style is ideal for men who prioritize fashion and functionality in their underwear choices.
5. Thongs
While thongs are more commonly associated with women’s lingerie, men’s thongs have gained popularity in recent years. Designed to minimize visible lines under clothing, thongs offer minimal coverage in the back while providing support in the front. They are often worn by men seeking a barely-there feel or those looking to avoid panty lines under tight-fitting clothes.
Thongs may not be for everyone, but they serve a specific purpose for men who value discretion and a sleek silhouette under their clothing.
Materials: From Cotton to High-Tech Fabrics
The material of men’s underwear plays a crucial role in comfort and durability. While cotton remains the most popular choice due to its softness, breathability, and affordability, there are a variety of other materials that offer unique benefits.
1. Cotton
Cotton is a natural fiber that is soft, breathable, and highly absorbent. It is perfect for everyday wear, as it provides comfort without causing irritation. However, cotton may not be ideal for athletic activities or hot weather, as it can retain moisture, leading to discomfort.
2. Microfiber
Microfiber is a synthetic material that is known for its moisture-wicking properties. It is commonly used in performance underwear, as it helps keep the body cool and dry during physical activities. Microfiber is lightweight and flexible, making it an excellent choice for active men or those living in warmer climates.
3. Modal
Modal is a semi-synthetic fabric made from beech tree pulp. It is incredibly soft and smooth, providing a luxurious feel against the skin. Modal underwear is often more expensive than cotton, but it offers superior comfort and durability. It also has moisture-wicking properties, making it a great option for men who value comfort and performance.
4. Bamboo
Bamboo fabric has gained popularity in recent years due to its eco-friendly nature. It is soft, breathable, and naturally antibacterial, making it a great choice for men with sensitive skin. Bamboo underwear is also highly moisture-absorbent and resistant to odors, making it ideal for everyday wear.
5. Spandex
Spandex is often blended with other fabrics like cotton or microfiber to provide stretch and flexibility. Underwear that contains spandex offers a snug fit that moves with the body, making it ideal for active men or those who prefer a more form-fitting style.
Choosing the Right Pair: Key Considerations
When choosing men’s underwear, several factors come into play. Comfort, fit, material, and the activity for which the underwear will be worn are all crucial considerations. Here are some tips to help you make the right choice:
1. Fit
The fit of your underwear is perhaps the most important factor to consider. Underwear that is too tight can cause discomfort and restrict movement, while underwear that is too loose may bunch up and create awkward lines under clothing. It’s important to find the right balance that offers support without feeling restrictive.
2. Material
Choosing the right material can make a significant difference in how comfortable you feel throughout the day. For everyday wear, cotton or bamboo may be the best choices, while performance fabrics like microfiber or modal are better suited for active men or those who live in hot climates.
3. Style
Different styles of underwear suit different body types and clothing choices. For example, briefs or trunks may be ideal for men who wear slim-fit clothing, while boxers provide a more relaxed fit for casual wear.
4. Activity
If you lead an active lifestyle, choosing underwear with moisture-wicking properties and added support is crucial. For everyday use, comfort and breathability should be prioritized. Understanding how your underwear will be used can help you select the best pair for your needs.
Conclusion
Men’s underwear has come a long way from the simple loincloths of ancient times. Today, men have a wide variety of styles, fabrics, and fits to choose from, each offering different benefits depending on personal preferences and lifestyle. Whether you prefer the relaxed fit of boxers or the supportive snugness of briefs, the right pair of underwear can significantly impact your comfort and confidence.
As trends in men’s fashion continue to evolve, so too will men’s underwear. With advancements in fabric technology and a growing focus on comfort and sustainability, the future of men’s underwear looks brighter and more innovative than ever.

With the rise of the DIY culture, many people are rediscovering the joys of making things with their hands. How to Choose the Right Sewing Machine During a Sale
While akcija šivalnih strojev offers exciting discounts, it's important to be well-informed before making a purchase. Here are some factors to consider when selecting a sewing machine during a sale:
Skill Level: Beginners should opt for a basic model that is user-friendly and not too complicated. Look for machines with simple stitch settings and clear instructions. On the other hand, if you are more experienced, you may want to look for a machine with advanced features like multiple stitch patterns, automatic buttonholes, or even computerized options.
Purpose: What will you be using the sewing machine for? If you plan to work primarily with lightweight fabrics or do simple home repairs, a basic machine will suffice. However, if you're interested in sewing heavy fabrics like denim or leather, you'll need a machine with stronger motor power and additional stitch settings.

Additional Features: Some sewing machines come with additional features like automatic threading, needle up/down position, or a free arm for sewing sleeves and cuffs. The world of sex dolls has grown significantly over the past few decades, evolving from basic designs to highly realistic, customizable companions. Once considered taboo, sex dolls have become widely accepted and more popular as people seek new ways to explore intimacy, companionship, and personal pleasure. This article delves into the detailed aspects of sex dolls, examining their benefits, types, and important factors to consider when purchasing one. By the end of this guide, you will have a comprehensive understanding of what sex dolls offer and how they can enhance different aspects of your personal life.
What Are Sex Dolls?
Sex dolls are life-sized or smaller-sized figures designed to resemble the human body, intended primarily for sexual stimulation and companionship. These dolls are usually made from materials such as silicone or thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), which closely mimic human skin, providing a realistic tactile experience. While sex dolls initially started as simple inflatable figures, advancements in technology and materials have allowed manufacturers to create highly detailed and life-like designs. Some models even incorporate artificial intelligence (AI), adding a level of interaction that was once thought impossible.
Today's sex dolls come with detailed facial features, moveable joints, and soft, skin-like textures. They can be customized in almost every way, from hair color and body type to specific anatomical features, allowing users to personalize their dolls according to their preferences. Some higher-end models also have robotic capabilities, enabling them to mimic human movements and expressions.
Benefits of Sex Dolls
The appeal of Sexdolls.one extends beyond mere physical pleasure. They offer a variety of benefits, catering to different needs and preferences. One of the primary benefits is companionship. Many people turn to sex dolls when they feel lonely or when traditional relationships are difficult to maintain. These dolls can provide a sense of emotional comfort, offering companionship in a non-judgmental environment.
Another key advantage is the opportunity to explore sexual desires without fear of judgment or rejection. Sex dolls allow individuals to explore their fantasies, experiment with different scenarios, and gain sexual confidence at their own pace. This can be especially helpful for those who may feel anxious about real-world intimacy or have experienced challenges in their sexual lives.
Sex dolls are also used for therapeutic purposes. In some cases, individuals with sexual dysfunction, anxiety, or social disorders find that interacting with a doll can help them regain confidence and reduce feelings of inadequacy. The non-threatening and predictable nature of sex dolls makes them an excellent tool for these therapeutic needs.
Lastly, the customization options available with sex dolls offer a tailored experience. Users can choose every aspect of their doll's appearance and functionality, ensuring that their needs and desires are fully met. From specific body features to realistic skin tones and hair, the personalization available enhances the overall experience for users.
Types of Sex Dolls
Sex dolls come in various types, each designed to offer a unique experience. Understanding the different types can help you make a more informed decision based on your personal preferences and needs.
Full-Size Sex DollsFull-size sex dolls are the most popular and realistic option. They are typically life-sized, with detailed features and a wide range of customization options. Full-size dolls are designed to look and feel as close to a real human body as possible, with moveable joints, realistic skin textures, and life-like anatomical details. These dolls offer the most immersive experience for users who are looking for a complete companion.
Torso DollsTorso dolls are more compact and less expensive than full-size dolls. They include only the upper or lower part of the body and are designed for users seeking a simpler or more convenient option. While torso dolls lack the full-body experience, they are easier to store and maintain, making them a practical choice for those with limited space or budget constraints.
AI-Powered and Robotic DollsIn recent years, manufacturers have developed sex dolls with artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic functions. These advanced models can respond to touch, move their limbs, and even engage in simple conversation. AI-powered dolls enhance the interactive experience, offering users the feeling of interacting with a more "alive" companion. Robotic movements further add to the realism, making these dolls a high-tech option for those seeking the most immersive and futuristic experience.
Mini Sex DollsMini dolls are smaller than full-size dolls but still offer a realistic experience. They are designed for users who prefer a more compact, portable option without sacrificing the quality and realism of a larger doll. Mini dolls are easy to store and transport, making them an attractive option for individuals with limited living space or those who want a more discreet option.
Factors to Consider Before Buying a Sex Doll
Purchasing a sex doll is a significant investment, both financially and personally. Before making a purchase, several factors should be considered to ensure you choose the right doll for your needs.
MaterialThe material of a sex doll is one of the most important factors to consider. Silicone and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) are the two most common materials used in sex dolls. Silicone is known for its durability and realistic feel but is more expensive. TPE, on the other hand, is softer and more affordable but requires more careful maintenance. Understanding the pros and cons of each material will help you choose the one that best suits your lifestyle and preferences.
Size and StorageThe size of the sex doll is another critical consideration. Full-size dolls require ample space for storage, and they can be heavy and difficult to move. Smaller or torso dolls are more convenient for those with limited space or who prefer a lighter option. Additionally, it's essential to have a discreet storage solution, especially if you live with others.
Cleaning and MaintenanceProper cleaning and maintenance are essential to ensure the longevity and hygiene of your sex doll. Dolls made from silicone or TPE must be cleaned regularly to prevent bacteria buildup and maintain the material’s quality. Some dolls come with removable parts for easier cleaning, while others may require special care products. Before purchasing a doll, make sure you understand the maintenance requirements to avoid any potential issues.
Customization OptionsSex dolls can be customized in almost every way, from body type and facial features to skin tone and hair color. Some dolls even come with additional features like heating systems or voice modules. When choosing a doll, consider what level of customization is important to you. If you're looking for a highly personalized experience, investing in a customizable doll will enhance your overall satisfaction.
BudgetSex dolls can range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand, depending on the features and materials. Full-size, highly customizable dolls with AI capabilities are generally more expensive, while smaller, simpler models are more budget-friendly. It's essential to set a budget before shopping and consider the long-term costs, including cleaning products, storage solutions, and potential repairs.
The Evolution of Sex Dolls: Past, Present, and Future
The evolution of sex dolls has been dramatic, especially over the past two decades. What began as simple, inflatable toys has now turned into an industry offering sophisticated, high-quality products designed to meet a range of needs and desires. In the future, advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, and material science are expected to make sex dolls even more realistic and interactive.
The growing acceptance of sex dolls as a form of companionship, therapy, and personal pleasure suggests that they will continue to evolve in both functionality and social perception. AI-powered dolls with the ability to learn from their users, mimic emotions, and offer more natural responses are likely to shape the next wave of innovation in this space.
Conclusion
Sex dolls have evolved far beyond their early iterations, now offering users a highly customizable and realistic experience. Whether you're looking for companionship, exploring new sexual desires, or seeking therapeutic benefits, sex dolls provide a safe and private way to enhance your personal life. Understanding the different types of dolls, their benefits, and what factors to consider before purchasing will ensure you make the right choice for your needs. As technology continues to advance, the future of sex dolls promises even more exciting developments and possibilities.

What Is the Unique Quality of a Used Book?
For the sake of argument, let's compare books to cars. It is true that they are not very similar in terms of functionality, aesthetics, or physical characteristics. Nonetheless, there are certain parallels between brand-new and pre-owned models.
First of all, the instant you drive off the forecourt or turn the first page, you very much depreciate it. Once you take possession of it, you use it right away. Yes, you get to appreciate the thrill of being the first to arrive and the immaculate paint job and cover, but the scent—oh the stench! Well, enough of that.
The printed term stays the same even if automotive specifications can vary greatly from model to model and year to year. Whether you purchase an Oliver Twist book that is ten years old or one day old doesn't really matter because the plot remains the same. Although reference books may undergo updates and special editions are sometimes published to fan the flames a bit, the essence of the information is largely unchangeable. Naturally, you then have to choose between the speedier, ergonomically flawless, modern Aston Martin DB5 and its more traditional design. The DB5 has been tested in wind tunnels. A first edition bound in leather will always have its niche market, but the newest reprint has its own appeal as well. There is only a thing called right and wrong.
They are inexpensive.
Primarily, the primary reason for most people's decision to purchase a used book is that it is significantly less expensive than purchasing a brand-new copy from their neighbourhood bookstore. When you can get it for 100, why spend 500 on it?
They aid in preserving the environment.
What is the purpose of purchasing a book just to discard it after a few days, months, or years? The book's natural life is not over, even though you might have grown weary of it. You may sell it for a few pence, give it to a charity, or give it to a friend.
They could be your sole option.
Novelty books end after a while. The book becomes a limited resource when a publisher decides to discontinue publication. Therefore, finding a fresh copy of an old or rather obscure title can be more difficult than you had anticipated. In moments such as these, you ought to express your gratitude to those who preserved their books and reissued them into used book sales.
Preowned becomes advantageous when buying new is just no longer a possibility.

Understanding designs
To start on a specific design, I need to know how exactly I want to design it. Any company or brand has a symbol. symbols impact the customers on how they will view the brand. Your symbol is a crucial component of your business, so you want to make sure it's done correctly. Your symbol will appear on all of your branding materials. It will glare back at them from your business cards, packaging, and website. A well-crafted, expertly designed symbol not only effectively conveys your values. Additionally, it will help you stand out from the competitors and provide a positive first impression. One of the key components of your group's involvement may be banners. They spread the word about your group's message to those not present at the gathering. It might be a way to bring your group together as well. They truly have the potential to be the focal point of your group's activity, but they must look nice!
Purpose
Banners can be straightforward and efficient in conveying a message, or they can be creative and expressive. A banner's construction and design are determined by its intended use. A banner could be thrown away after just one use. It could also be designed to be used at several outdoor gatherings. It might also be an interior banner. With the use of an identity banner, you can inform people—including the media—that this is your event and that you are there to support the cause. It can be used to mobilize your group, make you easier to find in a big crowd or announce your destination to the throng. These banners are frequently the most successful.
Symbols
You may say that symbols and their symbolic interpretations are the source of all communication through letters and pictures. Symbols allow us to collect, combine, and interpret messages. The emotional and cultural connections we have to a specific symbol strengthen this interpretation. The automatic synthesis of our thoughts that takes place inside of us when we view a sign is something we truly have no control over. Because we received this skill from our prehistoric ancestors, it is much more significant. The usage of symbols has grown significantly in this age of invention and commercialization. This is seen in the rise of brand identity and how it affects customers. A brand symbol has a stronger correlation with human perception. It happens when a customer links specific feelings and concepts to the brand's components. Thus, each component of the brand's identity comes together to create a symbol. When we encounter a piece of branding, symbols are primarily intangible elements that help us understand a concept. such as iconography, a distinctive typographic style, colors, catchy taglines, and even the product packaging, which includes logos.

UK Grad Visa Scheme Isn't Troublesome, Finds Report Amid Immigration Concerns
Tumblr media
UK Grad Visa Scheme Isn't Troublesome, Finds Report Amid Immigration Concerns Following concerns about potential misuse for immigration purposes, a new report recommends maintaining the graduate visa route, highlighting its importance for British universities. The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) investigated the scheme after Home Secretary James Cleverly requested an expedited review in March. The committee examined if the visa was being exploited and if it primarily attracted students seeking immigration rather than education. A graduate visa allows international students to remain in the UK for up to three years after completing a university program. Dependents like partners and children can also apply. Last week, former immigration minister Robert Jenrick called for the graduate visa's abolition, arguing it facilitated "entry for individuals to work in the gig economy and for very low wages." Universities and industry leaders expressed anxieties that the 2021-introduced route might be scrapped or restricted based on a negative report. This fear, in turn, led to a significant decline in applications from international students. However, the committee, comprising five university professors and a Home Office representative, discovered "no widespread evidence of abuse" of the graduate visa program. "The limited conditions associated with the route lead to comparatively low abuse risks," the report stated. The review also revealed that the visa scheme is aiding universities in expanding course offerings while compensating for financial shortfalls from domestic students and research endeavors. Additionally, it "supports the government's international education strategy." The report indicated that in 2023, 114,000 graduate route visas were issued to applicants, with an additional 30,000 for dependents. It further noted that students from India, Nigeria, China, and Pakistan constituted 70% of all graduate visa holders, with India exceeding 40%. Professor Brian Bell, the MAC chair and a prominent labor economist leading economics at King's College London, commented, "Our review recommends maintaining the graduate route in its current form. It does not undermine the integrity and quality of the UK's higher education system." "The graduate route is a crucial aspect of our offer to international students considering studying in the UK," Professor Bell continued. "The fees they pay contribute to universities recouping losses incurred from teaching British students and conducting research. Without these students, many universities would be forced to shrink, leading to a decline in research output. This underscores the intricate relationship between immigration and higher education policies." The report discovered that a majority of graduate visa holders had completed postgraduate programs, with the most significant growth stemming from postgraduate courses offered by non-Russell Group universities, accounting for 66% of all graduate visas. Since 2021, the proportion of primary applicants exceeding 25 years old has grown by 15 percentage points, reaching 54% in 2023. The report also revealed that while graduate visa holders initially tend to occupy lower-paying positions, their job prospects and salaries improve over time. Notably, nearly half of the initial cohort transitioned to skilled worker visas, primarily securing skilled roles. Read the full article

7 Common Delusions About Pornography
Tumblr media
In today's digital age, pornography is a topic that often goes undiscussed in Christian circles, yet it remains a significant issue impacting individuals and communities, both in and out of the Christian faith. This blog post aims to dispel seven common delusions about pornography, guided by the truths found in God's Word. Common Delusion #1: "Pornography is Harmless Entertainment" Contrary to the belief that pornography is a victimless and harmless form of entertainment, it profoundly affects the consumer’s mind, relationships, and spiritual health. The Bible warns against lustful desires in Matthew 5:28, “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Viewing pornography distorts God's design for sexuality and intimacy, leading to harmful consequences. Common Delusion #2: "It Does Not Affect My Real-Life Relationships" Many believe that their consumption of pornography does not impact their real-life relationships. However, it creates unrealistic expectations and can lead to dissatisfaction and disconnection from one's partner. Ephesians 5:3 says, “But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.” This scripture emphasizes the importance of purity in thoughts and actions, which is fundamental in honoring and nurturing real-life relationships. Common Delusion #3: "It's a Private Matter and Doesn’t Hurt Anyone" The idea that pornography is a private matter overlooks its broader impact. 1 Corinthians 6:18 advises, “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.” This sin has ripple effects on one’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and it can contribute to the exploitation and harm of others. Common Delusion #4: "I Can Stop Anytime I Want" The addictive nature of pornography is often underestimated. It can create dependency, making it challenging to stop without help. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, it states, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” Recognizing the need for divine assistance and community support is crucial in overcoming this struggle. Common Delusion #5: "It's Just a Man's Issue" While it's often perceived as a problem primarily for men, pornography affects individuals of all genders. Galatians 3:28 reminds us, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” This issue requires awareness and attention across all demographics. Common Delusion #6: "It Aligns with Modern Sexual Freedom" Some argue that pornography is an expression of sexual freedom, but this perspective clashes with Christian teachings on sexuality. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 instructs, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you knows how to control his own body in holiness and honor.” True freedom is found in living according to God’s design and purposes for our lives, including our sexuality. Common Delusion #7: "It Has No Spiritual Consequences" Finally, the belief that pornography consumption has no spiritual consequences is a grave misunderstanding. James 1:14-15 explains, “But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.” Engaging in pornography is a spiritual battle, and it can hinder one's relationship with God. Addressing these delusions about pornography from a Christian perspective helps in recognizing its harmful effects and the need for a Christ-centered approach to sexuality. As Christians, we are called to seek purity, accountability, and to rely on God’s strength in overcoming such challenges. Remember, redemption and healing are always possible through Christ. Let us encourage one another towards a path of righteousness and true freedom in Him. If you are dealing with pornography or any other sexual issue, I strongly encourage you to read this book by Ted Shimer, called The Freedom Fight. It is a Christian-based recovery program for those who struggle with sexual immorality of all kinds. Read the full article

Debito Fluff Alphabet - [W]ild Card
Tumblr media
Fandom: La storia della Arcana Famiglia.
Category: F/M.
Relationship: Debito x Female Reader.
Type: Fluff Alphabet.
W) Wild Card: Pick a random fluff headcanon.
~~~~~~~~~~
There are certain things in life that matter a lot to Debito, things that he cherishes every day, things he cannot live without, things that have become so essential to him, it seems they were invented specifically for him: and alcohol is one of these things. It's absolutely no secret to anyone that he loves alcohol, of all kinds, and highly enjoys drinking on a daily basis. Now, this doesn't make him an alcoholic nonetheless, primarily because he never drinks for the sole purpose of getting drunk, but simply because he genuinely has a taste for it, appreciating it on a flavor aspect. And, frankly, he's able to hold his liquor quite well, which rarely leads him to become drunk, anyway; speaking from personal experience, you know it takes many rounds for him to grow intoxicated, which is a side of him you have only very rarely seen. Although he enjoys alcohol as an entire concept, his favorite kind is wine, specifically red wine, and that's also not a fact unknown to others; especially not you. Drinking is not an issue for you, given you're of age to consume alcohol, and it has never been something you've disliked or found unpleasant. However, before you started dating Debito, you had never really had a particular taste for alcohol of any kind, and you would drink only on few occasions, under certain circumstances, and around certain people: but since you've become his partner, you've grown quite knowledgeable on everything alcohol-related, especially when it regards wine. Every so often, it happens that he will make you try certain bottles, making you more acquainted with the various tastes and flavors that exist. It is more than safe to assume that your consumption of alcohol and alcoholic beverages has gone up since your relationship with him started, but even nowadays, you never drink to excess, and you're quite delighted to see Debito introduce you to something he loves, sharing his knowledge with you.
Mini Scene
"Will that be all for you, Miss?"
"Yes, thank you. Oh, but before you go, could I please have the wine list, if you have it on you?"
"Of course. Here you go."
With a kind smile, the waiter leaned in front of me and handed me the menu of all the wines the restaurant had to offer, and I grabbed it with a smile of my own.
"Thank you." I told him with a slight bow of the head before he left our table.
I was just about to open the wine list and take a look at which bottle I would taste-test, when I noticed Luca and Pace were staring at me with expressions of surprise, their eyes fixed on the menu in my hands.
"... What's up with you two?" I asked them with a scoff.
"I've never seen you ask for the wine list before." Pace said with his head slightly tilted.
"When have you started taking an interest in alcohol?" Luca asked with legitimate curiosity.
"When I started dating him." I answered with a gesture of the head at Debito while I chuckled.
Sitting right next to me, Debito smiled at all of us, a smile that exuded pride.
"Bambina's a bit of an expert on wines, now." He declared as he passed an arm around my shoulders, pulling me closer to him.
"To be honest, this is the first time I'm ordering a bottle on my own." I told Luca and Pace. "Up until now, it's always been Debito who'd buy one for the two of us, mainly for him but also for me to try some of it."
"So, what makes today a different occasion?" Luca asked us.
"Well, last time we ate out together, I realized the reason why Bambina never bought wine herself is that she knew I'd pay for it if she used the excuse of tasting it from my glass." Debito said with a playful smile as he started to pinch my sides. "Isn't that right, amore mio?"
Shameful, I opened the wine list fully and placed it in front of me, bringing it up to my face to hide my blush; fighting through Debito's hands tickling my waist, I cleared my throat with an embarrassed smile.
"So, hum... what bottle would you guys like to try out?"
