Ahh, I hope you don't mind that I answer this one publicly. First of all, aww, that is very sweet, thank you 🥺💖 I'm not gonna lie, I still struggle quite a bit with breathing and concentration, but I'm getting there! (That I'm exhausted all the time is a given, but it's always been like thay.) I'm currently working out to get my lungs back to where they should be, but I'm also currently teaching and studying and working and moving and traveling for work and- *deflates*
I miss drawing a lot and I feel really restless since I stopped. Hopefully I'll come back to it by next month - once S3 is here I'm definitely back in my clown makeup 🙈🤡
#covid really got to me#but moving is also really exhausting#and I'm teaching some uh.. I guess college classes (?) soon that I have yet to prepare for#and a paper to write#I should also hop over to the netherlands by the start of next month for a congress - I did send an abstract in for that one#and another one in six weeks#have I mentioned aaaaaa yet#also moving really sucks the life out of me#very exhausting and much to carry and build and so many ikea trips#but I still have a head like a sieve sadly so it's all a bit unorganized - which is normally not how I handle things#and I'm really :( about not drawing - it always makes me antsy because I feel the longer I stop the harder it is to start again#and I don't want to loose all my drive and just. stop one day#that has happened before and lasted for years ._______.

anyone interested in talking about the iconic 2000's middle-grade-bordering-on-ya book series gallagher girls??
#okay incoming rant about this series#i read the first book when i was 10 or 11 and i was absolutely obssessed with it. i read it so many times i had the entire story memorized#the issue was that i could not find the rest of the series anywhere. it was either sold out or out of stock#and then i found out that only the first 3 books had been translated into my first language so at that point i kinda gave up on them#anyway#flashforward to a couple of weeks ago#i was re organizing my bookshelf and on the back i found LYKY (is this how y'all are abreviating it??)#and remembred how much i loved it#and since i'm now fluent in english and was stuck at home recovering from a surgery i decided to download the entire series and read it#to find out what the fuck happened afterwards#long story short i read all six books in 4 or 5 days#and i haven't stopped thinking about them since#it's actually so funny how little information we have in the first book#i went all of these years thinking it was mostly a silly series about a boarding school for spies when actually SO MUCH happens afterwards#i can't believe i went all of these years unaware of zach goode's existence#truly character of all time#but also i can't stop thinking about how interesting it would have been if zach had come to hate the circle and his mom during the series#rather than before#make it a true enemies to lovers#and have us witness that portion of his character developement in real time instead of being told about it#like him slowly realizing through cammie and his time at gallagher that maybe what they were doing is wrong#i think it would have been very interesting to read#although let's be real it took me until halfway through book four to trust him and he was fully one of the good guys so..#but yeah i have a lot more to say but these tags are long enough#gallagher girls#okay i just want to add another funny anecdote about my experience with this series#my copy of LYKY has an age warning in the back recomending that readers should be above 13 yo to read it#and i distinctly remember finishing it and thinking the warning was kind of dumb bcs besides a few mentions of death and other heavier topi#nothing really happened#and now i realize it was a warning for the rest of the series not just the first book because jesus fucking chirst everything after

can someone tell me why im being abnormal about a character i've barely touched the content of. like yay yippie i watched like 20 hours of you. there's fucking 80 years of content get me OUT OF HERE?

oh my god okay I’ve been working since 7:30am but MN, SD, and JW are all submitted for internal review!!! NF is ready to submit as soon as he gets home from school and does a final readthrough!!!! DN has decided to waive review lol godspeed to that poor kid but it means less work for me today yippee!!!! and I also had time to give the baby a bath which is his new favorite activity (furiously focused water-kicking time!!!!). I think now I will take a break from student work and take all the residents of this household out for a brisk walk.
#I’m on a roll today so I might try to knock out EP’s five short essays too#maybe if the baby consents to nap once more (he’s been very obliging today)#I also just found out that one of my tutoring clients from another company wants to schedule 2x/wk sessions with me#for the foreseeable future#which is almost all the tutoring I’d need to do during the admissions offseason to make up my budget shortfall#tonight after the baby goes to bed I am going to sit down and calculate exactly how much $ I need to take six more weeks of leave#and then I will draft an email to let work know#thank you everyone for encouraging me to do it#even though I have to work a bit to make the unpaid leave work out#I still think it’s worth it to have the extra flexibility!!!#like I get to work in bursts while baby naps#and then hang out with him when he’s awake#and there’s no commute and no fixed hours

#just fired off another application which makes 3 today which is either ‘on track’ or setting myself up for failure depending on which google#search result from ‘how many job applications per week’ you choose to believe#i hate when they ask for an address because i don’t knowwwww what to put#i could lie and say my old one but i don’t want to be accused of ~presenting false information~#i could say my dad’s address but then they’d toss my application immediately due to it being on the wrong side of the country#so i’ve just been putting my airbnb which TECHNICALLY isn’t a lie but it’s not the whole truth and nothing but the truth either#i’m hoping in the year 2024 these places are not gonna be sending snail mail with my name on it to my airbnb host after i’m gone#if i get hired somewhere i’ll try to get a PO box. but i’m not spending $100 for six months for the smallest one#until i Know it’d be worth it.

sometimes i rewatch just the moment of Loki stumbling and tripping all over himself when he tries to approach Don!Mobius father of two at his home just to relive the moment of my jaw slowly dropping to the floor as it unfolded on my screen. truly there have been few moments that took me out with complete startled befuddlement so entirely as that. NOT because it wasn't perfectly in character I just hadn't in a million years expected a Disney/Marvel joint would let us SEE it.

There are some moments in life that really will last forever and what a pleasure it is to say the God of Mischief being canonically down for a single dad from Cleveland is now one of those, lmao. Honestly even to this day it's hard to wrap my mind around Loki's fit check, like there's poor Don literally just off work struggling with some trash and a chaotic household while an actual god lurks around wishing for a mirror in case he's not personally up to standard 😅
And like you said it's all COMPLETELY in character!!! Loki's never had to approach Mobius *needing* to impress before (because Mobius could never not be impressed with him) and because of it everything kind of hits in that moment how desperately he actually does want Mobius/Don to know how much he means and the difference he's made and if the only way that could be communicated is through some of the most obvious flirting any of us have ever witnessed then so be it. Still can't believe a full season of a Disney/Marvel show from start to finish gave the stuff dreams are made of, it's definitely a fluke but I'm running with it and never looking back lol.
