I could be wrong, but I was fairly certain it was implied that a lot of Almedha’s… craziness, to put it simply, was due to the loss of her powers? Given the other Laguz we see in Tellius who went through the same thing is, well, Lehran, I always got the impression that a Laguz losing their powers is very bad for their mental state.

I hope that's not the case! Or if it is, that it's just from the shock of losing their ability and not like, that having a branded baby causes madness.

That would give them too much ammo to continue being awful to branded even after all the lies are revealed :(
