Why I'm Voting Inno Mikoto even tho He Definitely Did It

or should I say DID i-*🏏smacked*

TL;DR like many I do not believe a word John says, but I also don't think he has the entire truth. Meanwhile Mikoto's amnesia is near undoubtable. With two unreliable narrators and solid evidence of self-defense, I think we need more before declaring him guilty.

I'm here to be Mikoto's lawyer cuz John ily but you suck at it 😭

Now onto why I'm voting Inno:

Mikoto isn't lying when he says he doesn't remember murdering those people, at least not entirely. The memory is in his subconscious, but he can't even remember the faces of his victims because they were both so out of it.

I believe what we see in MeMe is safe to assume to be his first. The first mannequin smashed onscreen is this one:

That looks like a damn FNAF jumpscare lmao this tells me that his baseball hobby probably saved him from getting jumped at that train station, but it came at a heavy price.

That's where John comes in. To handle the feelings that undoubtedly came with taking a life and having to hide the evidence.

Generally in DID alter's memories fall into one of 3 categories (my observations of myself and other systems):

That event happened. These are all the details. I feel nothing about it.

That event happened and I remember everything I felt like it was seconds ago, but I couldn't tell you specifics

That event happened??

The latter two can safely be assigned to John and Bokukoto. The first one is what we're missing.

I saw someone point out how the train could symbolize that he can never go back (credit urself in the tags if u see this it was a good one) to before he killed.

That brings me to our final scene.

Remember how John split to handle the feelings of that stressor? The feeling of unsafety, pure adrenaline, and righteous anger at the attacker is a horrific thing, but once you experience it you change. In order for an alter to handle the reality of something, it must be accepted somehow. John's way of accepting it is not remembering their faces, only his expressions and actions. That's probably why he's so aggressive; constant fight-or-flight mode.

Mikoto (Bokukoto), like with whatever happened to him in early childhood to cause DID, is unable to accept these realities because doing so would shatter his world (it turns out constant fight-or-flight isn't great for your social life).

So about John's statement that he didn't know any of the victims even though he totally did, at least a little;

John is reading the room and there it is: unsafety, pure adrenaline, and righteous anger at the attacker. That's all he needs to feel to know that it's time to protect Mikoto.

That's not the face and mannerisms of a man who bashes skulls in for kicks. This shit was personal.

I can't tell if it's one or two victims in the second clip here, but I strongly believe they had something to do with his work. His subconscious is really harping on how much his boss got on him and how stressed it made him. Something happened that pushed them over the edge. You don't call your mom after you kill for fun (or maybe you do idk). You call your mom when you know you're fucked.

John initiated the second killing but I don't think he was the only one making a conscious decision. That said, I don't have enough details to condemn Mikoto to another unforgiven verdict.

So, where will we find that info? Well remember RGB Mikoto/Trikoto theory (kudos to whoever coined those too)? Well when I broke down the compartmentalization earlier I hinted that there's a strong chance that SOMEONE remembers every detail, but feels nothing and lays dormant.

Good old green Mikoto, the only one we haven't seen speak yet the one who's given us the most detail so far (via MeMe).

Even if not and Bokukoto remembers more than he's letting on/gets in contact with John, the crime itself isn't unforgivable beyond a shadow of a doubt yet even with multiple victims. His reasons are still cloudy.

CHOI SOOBIN

he looks shareef as hell— isn't. doesn't really do much to get in trouble, just steals his brother's car and takes it out for a drive at 3 am. texts you really late at night asking if you want to drive around. when you refuse and absolutely “BREAK HIS HEART” (he'll be fine), he takes yeonjun with him. and because you weren't there to smack the back of his head, he doesn't see the big ass depression in the road and gets stuck. calls you AGAIN, crying at 3:30 am, freaking out and going “THIS IS ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!!!” you can hear yeonjun trying to calm him down in the back but both of them are scared they'll get caught by the police and then will be detained overnight. soobin's very dramatic.

is really annoying sometimes. bold asf tho, definitely looks your dad in the eyes and shakes his hand whenever he's around. your dad would say “stay away from soobin I don't like him,” and then proceed to immediately befriend him when they realize they watch the same drama serial that's trending.

big foodie too, calls you and tells you he's bringing home crates of mangos with his friends and gives you an extra one whenever summer hits. his friend would ask him, “dude, where do we keep these crates?” and soobin, who's never been to your house EVER, goes, “tsk— follow me.” and walks into your house unannounced and unaware. wears a white kurta with gold accents because white represents, “purity, y/n. I'm a pure boy.” drops stew on his clothes moments after.

CHOI BEOMGYU

the real “stay away from him” wala boy. he's the talk of the town. no one knows how he manages to do it.

acing school, really fucking street smart, barely home most of the time. probably listens to a lot of punjabi. probably also curses in purely just punjabi. he's the kid that would probably post stories of driving in the rain or something 😭

all the girls in the shaadi hall have eyes on him. really good with kids too, but super fucking annoying, so you'd probably see a kid every few hours running up to their mama and crying, “BHAI HIT ME!!!!!”

acts really chichora because he thinks it's funny. would steal flowers from the bouquets in shaadi halls for all the younger kids in his fam, but save you the best one. gives you his aalu when you eat biryani together. super sentimental too, would randomly break into a poetry during a random conversation that has nothing to do with poetry.

cracks a lot of dirty jokes too, again, because he thinks it's funny. eyes you shockingly when you eat the paani puri with one whole bite after he struggles to. asks how you're better with your mouth than him, and gets a smack right on his nose. on a related note, starts a “paani puri or gol gappe?” debate with you, and picks the side you're against solely because you're against it. can't have you winning, now can he?

loves it when it rains. calls it relatable. you'd probably get a call when the sky starts getting darker and asks if he can dance in the rain with you. wears his best black kurta (he has 5) whenever you two hang out. looks very attentively into your hands when you get mehendi done, and ask if you had his name written somewhere in the designs. gets disappointed when you don't.

probably the most religious out of the 5. the annoying type in group hang outs that threatens he'll snitch, but never does. a cute geek. probably studies computer sciences.

ironically also a gym rat. gym buddies with beomgyu. has abs but you can't see it until beomgyu dumps a bucket of water on him from the balcony and drenches him completely. and you're like, “oh.” gets shy when beomgyu forces him to wear a compression shirt for the gram 🔥💪 is the Athlete Of The Year 3 years in a row. sports captain, too.

always visiting the principal's office, but not because he's in trouble. knows the principal &staff really fucking well because he's an athlete. fist bumps the principal in the halls, gets shot weird looks before the principal eventually returns his fist bump.

the kid who probably has a lot of writing on his t-shirt on the last day of school. areas of his face smeared with ink from a pen soobin accidentally broke. all 5 take a picture with the principal on the last day of school. forces the photographer to take an extra silly one of just the principal and him. refuses to give his sports captain sash back.

plays basketball because “the body needs varzish.” forces you to play with him after he misses many hoops on purpose. goes easy on you until you piss him off for “being bad.”

your parents absolutely love him and start internally crying when they realize he may be in the friendzone. brings fruits for your mom and a pirated video game for your brother everytime he visits. loves to tease you for losing in a video game you've never played before.

accidentally walks on you when you're adjusting your clothes. screams so loud mama thinks he slipped in the bathroom. apologizes a lot even though he saw like nothing. tries to make it up to you while you're making chai— ends up distracting you so bad it spills over the pot. absolutely dizzy and doesn't know what to do.

to make it up to you (and maybe to spend some extra time with just you), takes you to those local malls where it reeks of chalia and fresh cloth, and there's a million tailors stitching clothes. would probably get scammed so fucking fast before you start yelling that they're going way off price. confused asf, realizes maybe he should just let you do the talking, while he carries all the stuff the two of you buy for the wedding coming up.

probably hears a lot of, “wow, he's so pretty,” from a million aunties whispering to each other there. gets shy super fast.

begs you to buy something that he wants to pay for because he feels so guilty for the chai and walking in on you, even though you're absolutely refusing. sneaks away while you're arguing with a tailor, buys a pair of gold baliyaan for you.

I’m so fed up of being alone. I’m fed up of being the ugly friend. I’m fed up of being the weird friend. I’m fed up of feeling like an outcast with my own friends. I’m fed up of feeling so lonely.

I feel so alone constantly, I feel like I have no one to fall back on that I can truly trust, I have friends but none of them feel my closest bestest friends yk, I do have a best friend but even tho I trust her a lot I still don’t trust her with my full heart cause of stuff she’s done in the past. I have maybe 2 people I would class as “close” friends, I mean one is my best friend who I’ll call E and my other friend is someone I met through red dead but I don’t know a lot about him he’s a very private person. I have other friends but we’re not super close or not as close as me and E. And don’t get me wrong I love my other friends it just feels different if that makes sense. I have lost so many friends in the past 4-5 months due to so many different issues like them leaving school or us just falling out, I can probably count on MAYBE (very big maybe cause honestly I don’t know) both my hands how many good friends I currently have in and out of school and even then I don’t know if they would class me as a good friend or not

Even tho I have friends I still feel so lonely in this world, even with friends and family surrounding me that love me i still feel alone and it’s so strange cause you would think that having people surrounding me that love me would make me feel less alone but apparently not. HOLY SHIT MY SCREENTIME RECORD IS ABOUT TO SKYROCKET

i’m doing both of them for every question cus i LOVE sple/ndor <3

🤒 slen/der doesn’t get sick often, i’d say maybe once every few years. the max he gets sick is maybe once a year, that’s if his luck runs out with immunity. sple/ndor is the same but the minimum is maybe once every two years. slender catches flus more often than colds and splendor actually catches colds on TOP of stomach bugs, more often than not. which if you know what a cold or allergies on top of a stomach flu is like, it fucking SUCKS.

😩slender tends to sneeze only once, maybe twice. it doesn’t depend on the cause usually, his body just decides for itself. splendor tho sneezes in small fits of 2-4, if it’s over 4, he’s probably come into contact with an allergen he’s sensitive to, such as incense for example, one of his weaknesses. fits aren’t common for slender at all and if he has one it’s a cause for extreme concern (and a need for earplugs), splendor again it depends on if he’s allergic to something in the air or not.

🌸slender isn’t allergic to any plants or pollen at all, splendor is weird with it, it’s only certain plants. strongest one being hibiscus flowers, and another being pine trees since if i’m not mistaken they attract pollen easily. with the hibiscus flowers it’s both the pollen and the smell of them that gets him. hibiscus flowers and pine trees set him off into those fits of more than 4, usually 5-6.

🕯slender CAN be set off by dust but it would have to be a dusty ass room that hasn’t been cleaned in 50 years, otherwise it won’t be enough. pretty much any strong synthetic perfumes like ones from bath and body works, victoria’s secret, even axe body spray or old spice, literally ANY body fragrances can set off splendor. especially if it’s a huge amount. sally may get a hold of jane or nina’s perfumes and might want to spray them around the house, and splendor will just lose it. nothing outta the ordinary.

😭y’all obviously know what i’mma say for this one lmao. slender is pretty quiet about it, doesn’t try to HIDE the fact he’s sick (as it’s very noticeable when he is) but he insists he can work through it. splendor, not being much of a whiner or complainer, doesn’t downplay it at all and will admit it if he can’t do certain things because he’s not feeling well. he won’t make his illness everybody else’s problem though, not even slender’s.

🍵YESSS THEY ARE TEA WHORES. slender prefers irish black tea with lemon and honey, as both help sore throats and phlegm which is what he struggles with a lot when he’s such. splendor is on the sweeter side, liking more floral or fruity teas such as raspberry tea or rose tea, def with a LOT of honey, since slender doesn’t like him having a bunch of sugar when he’s sick since he gets those stomach bugs. splendor would accept water and so would slender if they had no tea left, they won’t like it, but they have to deal with it.

🎤slenders voice changed a bit when he’s sick, it develops a decent amount of rasp and if he is having a bad cold you can hear a deep congestion when he talks. splendors voice gets a lot more congested than raspy, but he’s also a very quiet sick guy when he’s like that. doesn’t like to talk as he’s afraid of hearing his voice, so really we wouldn’t know too much.

😔slenders a weird one. he can either sleep in an extra 5 hours, or he can’t sleep at all. both are concerning factors. he doesn’t become irritable or aggressive with anybody at all as he’s naturally a very patient guy, but he also is still a talkative guy. probably won’t talk first but he’ll talk if you have a question. splendor again doesn’t talk much and would also kinda withdrawal from people without even wanting to, but his brain just needs space and quiet alone to itself when he’s sick. he won’t be a super horrible crybaby but poor guy breaks into sobs when he has to throw up or if he sneezes a little too much and he can’t breathe or gets a migraine from the pressure on his sinuses. he’s a very emotional guy.

📝UHHH UHHH OK imagine like splendor gets super sneezy and he’s just firing rapid fits after another, so so exhausted and so congested but also confused because he’s not anywhere around an allergen, to his knowledge, til slender immediately puts away a cologne he was trying on and tries to get splendor to settle down, feeling super bad for forgetting to close the bathroom door before trying out the spray. takes splendor a good mother 5-6 minutes for the sneezes to stop, by now the hanky he was covering with is VERY much used up, but they just have this back and forth “i am SO sorry oh my god-“ “nonono i’m sorry i tried to just suck it up-“ “that’s not good i’m sorry i really should have waited til you left” “nooo now i fEEL BAD-“ “SERIOUSLY IT WAS MY FAULT-“

That seems like a really particular ability, what if she never found out about it? Was she TOLD what her ability was or did she have to figure it out? If so, what if she’d never cooked that specific thing and just… never found out? That would suck

From what I’ve seen tho, he’s a stinky rat man that secretly lives in the walls, with a Tragic BackstoryTM and - occasionally - glowing green eyes. People don’t like him for some reason but he just seems really sweet and shy? Idk

I’m guessing the glowing green eyes have something to do with his ability?

Hello.

I have a current hyper fixation on Encanto and have been reflagging solely Encanto-based posts, instead of my usual Star Wars content. @skyguy2-electric-boogaloo, my kind friend, has noticed this anomaly (as well as my obsession with this movie) and since they haven't seen it yet (WHAT A SHAAAAME BABY WHAT A SHAME) they asked me to react to Encanto characters.
