i really like gulool ja ja and his role in the grand narrative and im not trying to slander my bestie like that but i think its not too far-fetched to assume he mightve been an absent parent. if cahciua can leave her kid at home to do adventuring, it doesnt feel like too big of a stretch to assume that gulool ja ja also had to prioritize running tulliyollal over taking close care of his kids. wuk lamat and koana might've been fine and understood that he couldnt always be present (and more willing to accept this, as koana often talks about being grateful to be adopted at all and wuk lamat had namikka for a mother figure) but zoraal ja's behavior just makes a lot more sense if i can imagine it being a product of feeling neglected in the way erenville did, especially since their insecurities both manifest as if they need to accomplish something to be worthy of their home and family. gulool ja ja and cahciua both obviously love and adore their children, but sometimes it just isnt enough if you arent there.
