I can't wait for your write up on Spamano. Especially the more ahhh... turbulent times in their relationship. Antonio having a vicious side works well given his history but the fact that he's also so laid-back and happy must give people whiplash sometimes. Do you see him as someone who has very unpredictable moods and can turn fast whenhe's mad, or is that side of him only for certain people/times?

going for the spain ask, I'm a strong believer in him having a "darker" side to his personality, especially (like you said) if you look at his history as an empire. while I think he is a cheerful and a laid back man by nature, sometimes this part of his character can look a bit...forced? like you KNOW this guy is overdoing it. because in no way or form the nation that conquered half of the world could be this naive and happy with nearly everyone.

and for your other question, I don't think he let's this side of him slip in front of people, ESPECIALLY those he's not comfortable with. I guess he got good at restraining himself? because God knows he didn't in his times as an empire LMAO. he was scary to others, and his marriage to Austria proved that this part of him greatly affected his personal relationships. a bit like in England's case, if we want some context.

with that in mind, while I think his relationship with romano today is great and all, it didn't start in the best of terms. that is something I want to dwell deeper, because I think hetalia does nothing short of a TERRIBLE job in portraying it. but yeah, you can say that there was a big power play between them, and a side unhealthy quite-devastating obsession from Spain's part. atleast we got the spanish quarters in Naples from that time :PP

Despite me posting a lot about Hetalia, I'm also into other fandoms, but I'm guessing it's for Hetalia, even if you aren't in it. I'm less opinionated about other fandoms, at least online.

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?* I don't get USUK (America x England) and I don't get SpUK. Those are the biggest ones, probably, although there's many others I just don't really care for.

15. Unpopular opinion about the manga/show? There's these arcs called Chibitalia, as well as Boss Spain and Chibiromano, and a lot of the fandom really don't like them, because it's historically inaccurate to keep the Italy brothers young for literally two millennia, and it's also really weird when other nations around them get to grow up faster. But at the same time, I kinda think they're cute. I also have a lot of strange opinions on Assassin's Creed, such as the fact that the best game is Assassin's Creed Rogue, and you can pry that game out of my cold dead hands, assassin-turned-Templar Shay Patrick Cormac is the best protagonist that series ever had– [The Ezio stans kill me with counter-attack.]

16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change? Paradoxically enough, also the Chibi-arcs. I like them, but I would've liked something else (such as a less bonkers aging process for the Italys) a lot more. Either that or the misunderstood onii-chan Chibitalia says to his peers – it's a cultural thing in Japan that the dub for some insane reason decided to keep. In Pathologic, I would let Clara have better side quests late game. Specifically, I would let her have something that wasn't the same three quests (that's basically just one quest in different flavours) on repeat for the last half of her route. Assassin's Creed has too many, I can't even begin to touch on this.

Omg please give us more info of HRE and Italy 😙 what is their story?

(Of course dear anon! But first, I have to warn y'all: HRE's canon characterization is...a big mess. As a history nerd, I tried to find a more "accurate" way to depict him, so if it distances a bit from canon I am sorry! Also chibitalia makes no sense along with chibiromano, so we scrap them here. Long post ahead.)

Italy-HRE relationship: my take on it!🇮🇹

Before actually starting to look at their relationship, I think I have to make it clear that I envision HRE as Germania's son rather than grandson. That is because it is a general conception that both Prussia and Germany are Germania's sons, and so to make HRE his grandson (mind you, HRE is older than germany!) makes...no sense. Also, if you think HRE is Germany, this depiction might help. Moreover, this headcanon is more of an help to keep the plot linear rather than an historical fact.

Another point is his age. I really do not like chibitalia, and think that the whole thing of making Feli dress like a girl is...creepy? So again, I scrap this whole bullshit, since HRE and Italy are already several centuries old when they start having a relationship. HRE officially was created in 800 with Charlemagne, but similar to the Italy Brothers case, I depict HRE being "born" a bit before that, since he is Germania's son and was most likely alive before his dad died (poor guy). That makes him a bit younger than Feli.

So we come to the year 800! A 11 year old looking Feli is brought in the new and shining Holy Roman Empire and he...is not enthusiast about it.

HRE says in canon that he started loving Italy ever since the 900s, and I actually really like this touch. The first century is most likely feli getting used to live in such a different context, and their relationship was not good at the start. So HRE actually having a middle school kinda crush for one of his territories is actually so cute. Mind you that here they were still fairly young looking, so it was mostly puppy (for now unrequited) love between a young empire and his conquered land.

Fast forward to roughly 4 centuries! Both HRE and Feli grew up to their late teens/early adulthood, and the latter in particular started to gain more and more autonomy from his "young emperor". Venice was starting to affirm in Europe as a powerful Republic, the duchy of Tuscany flourishing with arts, Genoa becoming a maritime power... y'know, he was getting bitches around Europe.

And HRE? The crush for Italy just never left, and it only got stronger as they grew. Feli was now his sorta-equal, and he admired him so much at this point. And so I hc that roughly around the second half of the XIV century, they started "dating". (Oh and to make it clear, I don't make the whole "HRE thinks italy is a girl blah blah" because gay rights♡♡) whereas it was their first serious relationship with another nation.

I like to hc that HRE gave Feli his "Veneziano" nickname, since he used to call him "his beautiful veneziano" everytime they met. because they both struggled a lot during that time, with Feli trying to manage the rivalries between Tuscan cities and HRE managing whatever the hell was his empire (LMAOO).

now, regarding the death of HRE, the official date of dissolution of the empire was around 1806. in hetalia however, it is implied that HRE died in the Thirty Years War, and so that bring us almost two centuries before in 1648. I honestly want to keep this as the period that he died, mostly because it adds more...tragicness? to it. although I have to bang my head against a wall trying to understand who the hell replaced this guy after his death. (Prussia?? Austria??)

anyways, this guy goes to war and he NEVER returns. nation death is not common, and especially not something that happens everyday, so across Europe it was a big shock to hear when across the battlefield the corpse of the once Holy Roman Empire was retrieved. And you can also imagine the utter shock that feli upon learning about his lover's death.

It scarred him, a lot. HRE was his "first love" and he was the one that gave him the utmost respect. even months after his funeral, feli still waited for a letter from him hell, one singular word even! but of course, this was just a product of his grief stricken head. this is also why I headcanon him as being very frivolous in his sentimental life, since the only time he had love, it had been ripped away from him in the cruellest way possible.

I just want to state that In Hetalia, if Veniciano was raised a bit by Grandpa Rome then he was chibi italy at the very least by 400 AC. (Before the fall of the empire) which means he may have been little for a long time but in fact Italy is older then he appeared. I say this cause I had the sudden urge to find out if Spain really is older then Romano. If Romano is older then Veniciano, that would make him having to have existed as chibiromano around at least 200-300 AC and Spain's history page says his history dates back to the 16th century. So in fact- ROMANO IS THE FUCKING COUGAR BITCHES IF ITS PEDOPHILIA TO SHIP THIS THEN ITS ACTUALLY ROMANO WHOS LIKE 1000 YEARS OLDER THEN HIM. His country just wasn't really its own country until much later... You're welcome for the random history lesson. So if you're trying to put a sense of realism into this show, they're all related, they all came from the same place and on the same large landmass basically, and incest is likely. Getting attached to humans has been shown to only cause them pain, and if it's unavoidable to find someone you're not related to, but you crave that attachment, what are you going to do? It not like they were all raised together like one big happy family. The closest you have to that kind of siblings would perhaps be Germany and Prussia, but even they had their problems. Their fucking countries. It's a show. Just yeah. I felt the need to vent that out cause it bothered me. This is just my opinion, I don't want to start any problems I swear, I just needed to get that off my chest somewhere because it's the only about this fandom that bothers me. Also, while Italy is a Latin nation, it is not a Hispanic nation.

The song was slightly dirty with some talk about "turning on" and touching each other all over, but nonetheless, they loved this song. And it described exactly what the Spanish man wanted to do to you.

... You were just done getting ready for the day so, you decided to go to the kitchen to get something to drink. As you walked into the kitchen you could hear singing and music. Singing in Spanish. But, it was more then one voice. Being the curious person you were, you closed the door and leaned your ear against it. "Intentalo, si así lo quieres tu. Why did the same scene just repeat?

You knew the song that was being sung. It was pretty popular with the Hispanic, Latino, and Mexicans at your school. You were slightly Mexican and most of your friends were so, naturally the song made you want to sing and dance along like you and your friends would usually do when this song came on. 

I am not Mexican at all. 

I assure you, I look strongly of Italian and Irish decent.

The song was so addictive that even the Asians, Africans, and other non-Hispanic, Latin, and Mexican in your school sung and danced along too.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say that this is the author’s favorite song.

You opened the door to the kitchen and strolled in just when the female part came up. "Me gusta, me asusta sentir tu cuerpo. Ardiendo sobre mi piel, eeeeeel."

Also, I can defiantly not sing in Spanish that well. I can speak basic conversational Spanish, as I took a Spanish class, but half of the words in that sentence I don’t even know.

You sung and danced all the way to the fridge to get a bottle of water as you seen Spain, Italy, and Romano staring at you in astonishment. They couldn't believe that you knew the song, sung with such accurate Spanish, and danced with such happiness and enjoyment. (Think of how Shakira or a Latin, Hispanic, or Mexican friend or family member would dance. Keywords: Salsa, Tango, and Mariachi.)

You answered as you watched Romano eat the tomato from behind Spain. You giggled slightly when the moist tomato seeds squirted all over Romano's shirt and on the back of Spain's head. Spain noticed this so he turned around, only to make you laugh more since you could see the seeds stuck to his head. Spain then took a towel and started to clean Romano up as if he were still Chibiromano. Romano snatched the towel from Spain then started to clean himself up. "I can do it myself, dammit. I'm not a little kid anymore you tomato bastard!" He grunted at Spain. Spain only smiled back at Romano's scowl then turned back to you. 'How cute!' You thought. Before you could fangirl out though, you "Fusososososo"-ed yourself in order to calm down.

"You have tomato seeds stuck in your hair." You said as soon as you were calmed down. You got up from your stool and took one of the many kitchen towels to wipe off the tomato seeds from Spain's hair. As you were wiping you decided to take this opportunity so, with your other hand you gently touched one of Spain somewhat curly, brown locks. Spain gave a hearty chuckle. You pulled your hand back at the sound of him chuckling. Spain turned around and took the towel from you and continued to wipe his own hair as you blushed like crazy. Did he want you to die from overheating yourself? Just as Spain opened his mouth, a certain short Asian man ran in. He picked you up then threw you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"I'm sorry, but it's my turn today." He said quickly but clearly before he took you to god-knows-where.

Japan dropped you off in his room, which was very unlike how you thought it would be. There was a folded futon in the corner of the room and a small desk where a laptop stood. There was also a bookshelf filled with notebooks, manga, anime DVDs, and Doujinshi. The last thing you seen was another desk right by the closet where tons of utensils for drawing.

It sounds kind of like my room, actually. But I have a bed instead of a futon. I actually spend a lot of my free time drawing. If you guys want, I can show you some of my drawings.

'Must be for making anime, manga, and doujinshi.' You thought as you approached the "art" desk. Japan's eyes followed your movements as you approached his special desk. You reached up to pick up the current work only to place it back on the table and turn around. What had you just seen? Oh it was a hentai picture...with you and Japan in it. 

You slowly walked over to the bookshelf where you picked up a book with a pink title on the spine. It was a doujinshi. You opened up the fan-made manga then instantly closed it and put it back on the shelf.

Okay...that one was dirty and filled with naked anime pictures of you and Japan also.

Japan WAS your stalker. He WAS your number one STALKER. You could believe that maybe Korea drew hentai too but...not stalking you with voice commands on your phone. You could believe that maybe America stalked all of your accounts on every social network, writing websites, and fangirl websites on the internet and that wasn't really bed. Prussia stalker your school blogger and that wasn't even as worse as how much of a stalker Japan was!

It had a yellow sakura flower pattern and it looked as if it would stop just at your knees. It was a short kimono. You HAD heard that short kimonos were in style right now. But...did Japan want you to wear it? There was no questioning it...

Okay, I’ve always wanted to try on a Kimono. But not in this situation.

You knew he wanted you to the second he slowly took your shoulder and led you to the closet were you would change. As soon as the door shut you knew you only had two choices: Put the kimono on or stay in the closet all day. You decided to just give into Japan's wishes and put the kimono on. ... Cosplay it was. That was all you had done with your day with Japan. You had cosplayed into many things such as cat maids, dolls, sailors, and much, much more.

I like cosplay, but I think Japan is a bit more reserved than to force someone to do that. 

Japan had even put you in a pink dress as he dressed in a Switzerland-like stereotype cosplay and the two of you made a video of dancing around the room and singing "Yo-ho-ho, Tra-La-La" just like in that one episode when Japan thought Switzerland would be more like...well...that!

May I ask why?

You couldn't say that you hated your day with Japan and you couldn't say that you loved it but, one this was for sure. You had fun with the Japanese man.

I would hate all of that so much.

But I would have fun cosplaying.

As you got ready for bed you thought of who was next. Wasn't the cycle over? Nope...it couldn't be. Next would be the one and only, Spain. Oh no...the last member of The Bad Touch Trio was next. Spain may have seemed nice, caring, and everything a girl would want in a guy but...the fangirl rumor going around was that when Spain wanted something that would be easy for him to get...he made sure he got it.

Does there need to be more arm breakage? 

As you shut off your lamp on your nightstand and pulled up the covers to your bed, you thought about this. 'Do I count as something Antonio wants?' You knew that is he did want you...he could get you.
