PLEASE YOUR OCS ARE ALL SO CUTE! CAN I ASK FOR SOME SMALL DESCRIPTIONS OF ALL OF THEM?? IM SO CURIOUS-
OMG THANK YOU AND OF COURSE!!!!!! i'll write them as short as i can but that's usually not in my skillset EHEHEHE so some of these might get long-winded, bear with me. also all but 2 dont have names, thats still very much a work in progress SO FOR STARTERS my KG takes place in a simulated dome, kind of like. the hunger games 2 if that comes to mind HAHA but its mostly a campsite in a dense forest, but other shit can be added to manipulate the killing game as motives ultimate astronomer: his name is Hohodzuki Tentai, he's very sheltered because he grew up in isolation, specifically in an observatory in the middle of nowhere. he's well meaning, but he lacks proper social skills and sometimes comes off as weird to the others because he gets very curious about them and their lifestyles and sometimes asks boundary-crossing questions. he loves star maps, astrology, and mood rings; he constantly walks around putting them on the other participants ultimate pack leader: his name is Masashi Choko. everything about him points towards being a werewolf, and even though they aren't real, the cast is constantly questioning it because of choko's behavior. in reality, choko earned his title of pack leader because he has a delusion that he's on a spiritual level with the dogs he rescues and is the alpha of his pack and refers to them as his brothers. him and tentai form a close bond where choko eventually refers to tentai as having the same spiritual wavelength. overall he's super loud and friendly and generally just kind of comes off as an overexcited dog ultimate evel knievel impersonator: he's not an impersonator on purpose, he actually hates the title but anyone only ever sees him as an impersonator because he's only been able to reach evel knievel's personal bests. his only goal is to beat those records so he can be the best, but he's so invested in being better than evel knievel that he ends up dressing like him and doing the exact same stunt work so that when he bests him, he will be above him. he does not realize this is counterproductive. he's super hot headed and will bite you if you call him an impersonator ultimate prosecuting attorney: she's my antag. she's stiff and no nonsense, and she doesn't believe in supporting the weak; basically, get with it or get out of the way. she runs the trials, but since she's my antag she usually ends up pinning it on the red herrings of each case and demands someone dare to prove her wrong, constantly forcing the trials to have to be redirected to the right track. shes also extremely hard working to the point of exhaustion, as you can see by her eyebags HAHA, but its ok bc she saves time by manipulating others to help her with tampering evidence. she is heavily inspired by ace attorney, i came up with her while getting into the series :^) ultimate fisher: shes VERY loosely based on tom sawyer. shes kinda lazy and indifferent to what goes on, usually hoping someone does the work for her. she fishes for leisure rather than sport, so she prioritizes relaxation and is stubborn about it when someone criticizes her for it. she's usually off on her own napping or daydreaming ultimate puppeteer: LOUD. keeps NO secrets. the second you tell her something in private she will loudly repeat it. shes nosy and crude and uses her puppets to carry this out. she tries to be sweet and well meaning though, but she's just kind of insensitive with her comments and pokes fun at people with her puppets ultimate ice figure skater: elegant and poise, but has a secret competitive streak that brings out a playful vulgarity. he has a lighthearted rivalry with the ult. hockey player to see who's better on the ice, but a lot of his wisecracks go over poor hockey's head. they both watched each other on TV pre-KG, but theyre too embarrassed to admit watching the other's sport so they play it off in person and slowly become very.............very bromosexual
ultimate hockey player: bigggg dumb, stupid softie. his favorite things are meat, hockey, and his mom. he's not a lot of help in trials but he keeps people in good spirits and usually tries to cheer people up by asking if they want to play games or join him in hockey. the rest of the cast has decided he's impossible to hate ultimate demonologist: loves the occult and is a huge conspiracy theorist, but mostly uses his knowledge of spooky shit to scare everyone else. he gets defensive if you do the same sort of stuff to him though and is in general very difficult to get along with or take seriously. he takes the occult very seriously and has a small pet snake with him :^)
THATS ALL SO FAR, im still working on fleshing the other out but i worked on designing them today so hopefully they'll be posted soon !!

Growing Up is Hard; It’s Hard and Nobody Understands
So I noticed netflix has Neon Genesis Evangelion up last week and started watching it front to back for the first time ever(this happens to have coincided with me being in a down-mood for your edification, dear readers u_u), finished it today, REALLY liked it, and I wanted to try my hand at explaining what the hell is even going on in NGE cuz it actl seemed super-clear to me(a person who has been consuming NGE analysis and post-NGE media for literally 25 years) u_u
Surface Plot; Or NERV: What the Hell Is It?
I’ll try to make this as brief as possible: An organization of super-wealthy individuals calling itself Seele(looking this up, it means soul in german) wants to possess the power of God. The final third or so of the series is clear on this; it’s all about power. Ikari Yui, a geneticist, is recruited by this organization, and her husband Gendo(having taken her name which says a LOT given typical Japanese practice) comes with her. In seeking out this power, they discover a hollow sphere underneath Antarctica(”The White Moon”), send an expedition there under the guise of the UN, encounter an entity with this power which they label an “Angel”, and do SOMETHING which prompts it to explode the continent flooding the earth and killing half the population(that Gendo left beforehand implies this may have been intentional, or that a bad outcome to Seele’s approach was easy to predict, tho in typical Gendo fashion, his is the only ass he cared to save).
Afterwards Seele blame the scientists for this outcome and send Gendo on a salvage mission which recovers both remains of the Angel, now dubbed “Adam”, and a device they dub “the spear of Longinus”. Seele creates Gehirn to study these remains for practical use; they clone “Adam” and dub the result Evas(Eves). Having cloned them, they now need a way to use and control them as the Evas are non-responsive. They hit on the idea of injecting people into them via the Entry Plug system, presumably to act as a brain. The first person to try this, Ikari Yui, was absorbed by the Eva(Unit 01); the second(Soryu Kyoko Zeppelin; Asuka’s mother) was partially psychologically absorbed by Unit 02, psychologically and mentally injured by this, institutionalized, abandoned by her shit USian husband Langley who remarried to her LEAD DOCTOR, and eventual kills herself in a hanging which Asuka either is the first to discover or, given her memories of promising to die with her/begging her not to do it, was present for. An important thing to note about this: Shinji and Asuka’s ability to sync with their Evas comes from the fact that their mothers are PART of their Eva’s identity, and all of their classmates are potential pilot-candidates. The implication here is that Seele KNEW this happened when you put adults into an Angel, and they KEPT DOING IT ANYWAY to create more pilots, but there’s no confirmation of that in series.
After the attempt at human adult control fails, Gendo combines Yui’s DNA with Adam’s and creates Rei. At the same time he is doing this another team, under Akagi Naoko, is developing Magi, a biomechanical computer for simulating the human mind(again: certain implication to this re: Evas though the series never says anything). Naoko is romantically interested in Gendo, and they start getting together(Gendo’s too much of an asshole to be said to date, I think). After Rei, a toddler, tells her Gendo calls her an “old woman” in private, not realizing this is insulting, Naoko kills her, then kills herself out of shame over having MURDERED A CHILD, and Gehirn is folded into a new organization, NERV, which Gendo is put in charge of. Rei forms the basis of the second attempt at controlling the Evas; child-pilots.
How they use Rei for this I’m not exactly sure. It could be because Rei is cloned from Yui(she easily syncs with Unit 01 before Shinji bonds with it completely), or because she’s part Angel via her Adam element(Kaworu says Angels merge with one another easily and naturally), or it could be they did something with Rei I’s corpse and Unit 00(I dont see how as it seems to require a LIVE pilot). Regardless, she is raised to be the pilot for 00, the prototype. MUCH later, when the rest of the Angels finally decide to come looking for Adam, Shinji is called in, and after his success Asuka(who like Rei and unlike Shinji has been training to pilot her whole life) is called to Nerv headquarters(under Japan, in the “Black Moon”; a second spherical hollow where they found another Angel they call Lilith) too.
Regardless the child-pilots are only a step in Nerv and Seele’s plans, as Rei is ALSO the template for the Dummy Plug system, the final step in complete control of Eva units. To put it simply, the Dummy Plugs are Rei-clones without her personality or memories, and will just do whatever the heck they’re ordered to. At least once during the series(and I’d argue two, possibly three times) Rei dies and is replaced by one of these clones through some process, which involves what looks like a pre 00 Eva’s spine and probably a Magi-like backup, which transfers her personality and memories into the new body.
So what is Nerv? Well it’s hard to say EXACTLY because Gendo is in some sort of conflict with Seele(and I want to keep my watches of End of Evangelion out of this post; to focus entirely on JUST NGE itself) and Nerv IS Gendo, but as the series states repeatedly it’s an attempt to control the future of humanity by controlling what they call “the power of god” which, given that it’s what most distinguishes the “Angels”, is the AT, or “Absolute Terror”, Field. What is the AT Field? It’s a field that can make or unmake any kind of matter or energy from basically nothing, and it also seems to have a strong tie to what you could call the Ego; to desires and sense-of-self. An AT Field gets stronger when the person generating it is experiencing powerful emotions; Confidence, sure, but also Fear, Abandonment, the Will to Live, and Anger.
That last bit is very important. Why? Strong AT Field effects require a powerful emotional motivation in the pilot combined with high sync-rates with the Eva(basically a lobotomized Angel-clone) generating the Field. The three pilots we meet, the Strongest candidates, are all exceedingly traumatized people, and Gendo is the direct cause of the trauma of two of them. At no point in the series is Gendo ever a good father to Shinji, he is CONSTANTLY unreasonable, neglectful, and cruel to him; he’s kinder to Rei but at the same time her loneliness, the state of her “home”, and her lack of self worth shows that he rarely interacts with her outside of missions or explains what’s going on beyond bald facts; and he COMPLETELY ignores Asuka, a deeply lonely child with a history of abandonment and close brushes with death; he even delegates bumping her from the program. This point is important because it’s important to recognize that Gendo is a bad dad on PURPOSE; that he instrumentalizes his bad dadness to traumatize Shinji(and Rei and Asuka, though sadly the series doesn’t focus on them enough for us to see much) as much as he can, because he thinks that trauma, that emotional instability and anger, MAKES SHINJI A MORE USEFUL PILOT; ie lets him generate more powerful AT Fields. This is never said clearly, but it’s clearly what’s going on as forcing Unit 01(and thus Shinji) into awful, heartbreaking, life-threatening situations is vital to his plan. Gendo’s a piece of shit, and I want ppl to recognize just HOW BIG a piece of shit he is, because I feel this powerfully.
And for what? For Power. To be “God”. To get the highest numbers. To generate the MOST Invincible Invincibility Shield. For Ridiculous, Absurd, Childish reasons. For, you know, the same reasons rich and powerful people do all the fucked up shit they do in the real world where giant magic robots thankfully DONT exist.
And how do they plan to do this? Through “Human Instrumentation”, which will literally kill everyone by turning them all into goo.
Metaplot; Or “SHINJI! Don’t Get in that Robot!!”
So, maybe this is just because(as said previously) I’ve been reading NGE Analysis and consuming media which NGE heavily inspired for ~25 years, but I think it’s old hat at this point to note that Neon Genesis Evangelion is ALSO an allegory for becoming an adult, centered on Shinji. However, it’s just really SO on the nose in this, so PERFECT as such a narrative, that I want to run through it real quick. Also: A Cruel Angel’s Thesis is basically a thesis-statement for this series; please check out the lyrics.
So Shinji is living under the guardianship of a teacher(yup: this series even takes a swing at how our society uses schools to warehouse kids so their parents can waste their lives producing “Value” instead of raising them), when the shitty dad that abandoned him decides he has a use for him after all and calls him up.
On meeting with a child he has not seen SINCE HE WAS A TODDLER LITERALLY ABANDONED HIM ON THE STREET WHEN HIS MOTHER DIED he immediately ambushes him with the command that he get in a huge body(that he grow up) to do what? Whatever Gendo tells him to, but specifically: commit acts of violence for Gendo and Seele’s profit. He tells him this will protect people; meanwhile doing it destroys those peoples’ literal homes. The rest of the series is a series of monotonous, incomprehensible “Tests” judging his, and his peers, worthiness for approval and affection on the basis of how well they can use those giant bodies to do what Gendo tells them(so: capitalist work), punctuated by unpredictable, brutal, traumatizing, and physically dangerous events(so: capitalist work). Every friend, and the one lover, he meets, he is placed in unnecessary, destructive competition with and, when they are male, forced to attack and(in the case of the one lover, Kaworu) kill them; this last comment on homophobia is so stark and obvs I don’t even feel like you can CALL it subtext, even IF it plays out over mostly a single episode(honestly this plotline should have been given more time). And all the time they’re doing this, they must ALSO continue going to school and maintaining the front that they’re happy smiley Heroes, completely normal and not traumatized at all, and Nerv and the government that lets them run this city is a great and wonderful organization. Is this not what becoming an adult, over your teens and 20s, feels like?
And then there’s Seele and Nerv. Able to move state governments as they wish, Seele CAUSED Second Impact(Global Warming). By not returning Adam’s remains, they’re CAUSING the Angel attacks on Nerv meant to retrieve them(the threat of Human extinction). The Angels eventually begin trying to communicate and Nerv’s response? Destroy them before they can; blow up the Evas(and their pilots) if they succeed. And to top it all off Seele and Nerv are actually trying to CAUSE the very extinction(Third Impact) they claim to be preventing! Seele and Nerv are just SUCH good metaphors for capitalism in our modern day.
The transwoman reading of Shinji also seems pretty dang strong to me, though I’ll only deal with it shallowly. Shinji is the only “male” of all the pilots. Outside of command and security, most Nerv staff are women. Being an Eva pilot, being Nerv staff, is marked as “feminine”, and Shinji is an Eva pilot; is a Nerv staffer. The body he gets into, Unit 01, acts as a metaphor for the large, imposing, masculine body he’s expected to have as an adult “man”, yet it’s also spiritually his mom -feminine- and his ability to use it is tied DIRECTLY with his ability to “Sync” with that spirit; with his ease and comfort being feminine. Even at the level of mere aesthetics, Shinji’s plugsuit makes him appear to have breasts! Going a bit deeper, he initially relates to the women around him by relating to their gender. He’s most at ease with Rei because of the personality traits she shares with him which, we know from his gender-policing of Misato from earlier in the series, are traits he considers feminine(ie: he doesn’t feel like Misato has them, so he thinks she’s being a woman “wrong” and gets oddly offended by this in a way that really feels more about him than her). Asuka is constantly expressing her frustration with him for not “being a man”, ie, for being “feminine” in her eyes, and he isn’t really bothered by it(her calling him an idiot seems to stick much more firmly). Misato and Shinji establish a modus vevendi when she accepts him as he is, allowing him to do the household chores and to cook; he’s comfortable and happy when accepted into roles his culture considers feminine, while most of the series is him bucking AGAINST the masculinity forced on him by Nerv, his father, and others. Again: this is a very surface-level engagement with the subject, but even at that shallow level I feel like the case for reading Shinji as a transwoman is pretty solid.
Dislikes
It’s not a perfect series by any means of course.
There’s allot of dialogue that’s pure 90s nonsense, though the series mostly includes it only to shoot it down.
Like I said above, I don’t think Rei and Asuka really get the time or attention they deserve. In general the series treatment of women is ...Weird... especially around the issue of sex. It’s really strange; in many ways it’s far better than most anime(spcl from that period) on this. Women are ACTUAL PEOPLE with psychology, opinions, and pasts; they’re allowed to have emotions of their own, and struggles, and to be damn competent; they are independent and their own selves rather than accessories or “prizes” to men. But on the issue of feminine sexuality it just gets suddenly so weird in this very particular old-school misogynist way. Like: it treats women’s attraction and reactions TO relationships as something devoid of and impenetrable to reason, without belittling the emotions(the desire and hurt) behind those reactions. That’s the only way I can describe it, and it’s so strange to see something that is both so insulting and sympathetic at once. Oh, and the Akagis in particular are done super-dirty for seemingly no reason I can see, tho I can guess, and Akagi Ritsuki is CLEARLY a lesbian(possibly bi lesbian) and also Rose Lalonde(srsl; her Deal should have been an unrequited, unspoken crush on Misato. They openly dealt with queerness re: Kaworu and Shinji they could have done it here too).
The Kaworu storyline should have been a series of episodes or even developed from the start with him as another pilot(maybe replace Toji with him), though they’d have to tone down his weirdness, at least at the start. A deeper dive on Shinji’s sexuality(honestly his attraction to Kaworu is SO much more immediate and believable than anything we see with him and Asuka, which there is basically nothing of beyond the ep where they had to do choreography for a fight, and that’s not developed on) would have really been appreciated, and having Kaworu be a bigger part of the series would have facilitated that.
Also honestly the whole series feels a bit rushed? Spcl the second half. Like I said: I haven’t done any followup reading lately, but I remember there being some budget problems or something, so maybe that’s the cause. Ironically it might actl also be why it’s as GOOD as it is; having to keep it short forces you to write concise and lean, and that’s probably why its themes and message are so clear. But, I’d have liked more rambling for character development, and more time spent on seeing Rei and Asuka react to the stresses we saw Shinji face(also they never really get moments to shine like he does; another negative common to the medium and genre). Asuka in particular, as a Japanese German with a USian temperament abandoned by her parents, already an outsider in SO many ways, coming to live in an entirely different culture where she’s even MORE of an outsider; forced to live with people(Misato and Shinji) she finds it impossible to relate to or connect with; who has literally NO ONE beside a single adult guardian who totally blows her off THE WHOLE SERIES after delivering her; PLUS her awful past: there’s just SO MUCH material I’d have loved to see explored more slowly and with greater depth, detail, and sympathy even if what IS there already is pretty powerful and effecting. She’s SUCH a good Vriska(so I’d also have loved to see her break more shit too >:>)
Conclusion
So Anyway: I really liked this series. It had its problems, there are things I’d have liked to see, but it absolutely deserves the reputation it has. I might write more about this, I might do a watch through INCLUDING End of Evangelion(which actl makes much more sense having watched the series, though having done so makes Shinji’s masturbation scene comPLETELY out of left-field like where the hell did THAT come from); we’ll see.

I have another lovely commission to share with you all! An awesome person wanted a super cute bit of interaction between Springload and Quillfire, so here it is!
Quillfire tried to keep the frown on his face from appearing too off putting as he left the base behind, keeping pace with Springload but ensuring the two of them had considerable personal space at the same time. To the benefit of their mission Earth's forests offered ample cover all around, ensuring neither had anything to fear in regards to detection. Though, to the anarchist, potential discovery was the least of his concerns. His last parting with the other mech had been under less than amicable terms, so he was fully anticipating a very unpleasant mission. In fact, he wouldn't have been surprised to learn Springload was planning to ditch him at the nearest opportunity. Such a prediction seemed more likely than not considering how the amphibicon had a tendency towards the dramatic. Was he going to be accused of defying invisible spirits, or sullying important signals from some great deity before he was exposed to corrosive attacks? It all seemed equally probable...
Frowning a little harder, he watched Springload hop ahead of him and wondered if this mission would end in failure like the last. They'd been up against considerable odds, and things weren looking much better. Steeljaw had been very insistent on them teaming up, so he had a bit of hope this would go well, but-
Crossing his arms, he huffed quietly to himself as he abandoned the train of thought, plodding along behind his chosen partner all the while. Why should he be the one to mend things? More importantly, why did he want to? There were a million other activities he could be doing at the moment, all of them more conducive to speeding up a revolution than this! Just imagining all the injustice on this backwards planet made his quills twitch with unease. Oh, how he longed to tear down the tyranny that was evident around every corner-
"Can you move more swiftly?" Springload barked back at him unexpectedly, hopping along through the forest at a pace few could match with a mere walk. Admittedly though, Quillfire was lagging behind as he mused over his unhappy thoughts. The amphibicon fixed him with an impatient glare. "The sooner this mission is completed, the sooner I may return to my quest!"
Quillfire obeyed with a gulp, a reaction so out of character for himself he didn't know what to make of it. For some unfathomable reason, he wanted to make peace with this bot, and he was stuck with that. Perhaps he just didn't want to endure an entire mission tainted by awkward silences and angry glares, but what could possibly make things amicable between them? This bot wanted nothing but the treasure of a fabled city that didn't exist, how was he supposed to provide anything like that? Perhaps… just some conversation might do the trick? If only to lighten the mood...
As they came to a road that marked the next leg of their mission, he made an effort to think of something to say as the amphibicon pondered their map, as well as the instructions they'd been given.
"Steeljaw instructed us to wait here and construct an ambush site. When the human transport arrives, we are to steal their cargo…" he said, finishing the statement with a most distasteful croak. Clearly, his fellow bot was not especially interested in the mission either, and likely was imagining countless other ways his time could be better spent. Such was a common feeling at their rank, and he did truly share most of the frustration. With that as a starting point, Quillfire imagined they may have some common ground after all.
"I will keep watch on the road, so that you might strike at the most opportune time!" he declared boldly, emphasizing his faith in the others skills. It wasn't even a stretch, as he firmly believed the other was more than capable of getting this done. Looking up and down the simple paved path to ensure he had a good vantage point, he found one in the form of a sheltered outcrop. Looking to Springload for a reaction the entire time, he smirked confidently and clamored up to the flat bit of earth above the road, gesturing to the wide field of observable forest as he did so. "We will claim our quarry with a single attack, and return victorious!"
Springload merely observed him with a blink of apathetic consideration. "Yes, indeed." he said simply, hopping into position and making sure to face away from his teammate when he did so. Pulling out the holo of his supposed map, he began to study it as he always did, scanning the runes for what had to be the millionth time. A terse tone made his feelings on any future reconciliation clear. "Then I may continue my quest for Doradas, alone."
The anarchist's quills sagged at the turn of events. While he hadn't been expecting immediate friendship, he also hadn't anticipated that the other mech would be so openly hostile to any kind of amicable teamwork, and found himself quite disappointed by the lack of success. For whatever reason, he just wanted Springload to like him, and failing at that was bothering him. I'm fact, it was bad enough that some part of him just refused to accept the defeat. There had to be a way he could earn the other's camaraderie. Considering how much time they still had left before their mission began, he had a good window in which to ponder a solution.
Sitting back on the soft grass, he put a hand to his chin in intense thought. Springload himself only openly cared about one thing, and he didn't know him well enough to be aware of any other likes or interests… Casting a glance at the amphibicon, he felt his processor buzzing at the strain of thinking so hard to produce no results. He simply didn't know anything about geography, archeology, linguistics or any other topic which might help the other mech in his quest. The thought that he might not be able to do anything ate at him much more than it should have. It was enough to make him sigh sadly to himself at the hopelessness of it all.
"Do you see something?" Springload asked, mistaking his small sound for a potential signal. Embarrassed and surprised, Quillfire coughed and babbled out an excuse as fast as he could come up with one.
"Ah… no! I simply mistook a… an organic being for the target!" he explained lamely, not even believing himself. Springload arched an optic ridge, looking as incredulous as he did frustrated at the false alarm. Quillfire laughed awkwardly to clear the air, shrinking down beneath the edge of the outcrop to disappear from view. A dissatisfied croak let him know the outburst was thoroughly not appreciated.
Frowning miserably to himself, the anarchist occupied his lonesome by doodling in the dirt at his pedes, practicing his signature mark as he often did while thinking. What was he supposed to do? Apologies were not in his nature, least of all because he didn't want to give them. As a loner he just didn't have much practice saying he was sorry to anyone. Ordinarily he was busy disrupting systems of power, overthrowing tyrannical systems, or freeing trapped souls with no one else to save them… Thoughts and feelings like these were too new for him to know what to do with them.
Thinking hard, he tried to come up with something he could do to earn the favor of the other mech, but still came up short. It was frustrating enough to make him draw more aggressively, because deep down he was certain there had to be a way to succeed. Springload wasn't too different from himself, after all. A lone mech, seeking his goals, using his natural gifts and weapons to take down those who opposed him…
Just as he was about to growl to himself at his failure to be inspired, his digit bumped against something in the soft earth. Without anything better to do, he slowly went about digging the object free. A flash of a white, shiny exterior motivated him to continue. Briefly forgetting about his troubles, he dug until a dirty but visibly solid object began to reveal its shape. Round and about the size of his palm, a glossy white stone came from the dirt without too much fuss, and he smiled at the small accomplishment. It was a rather lovely treasure for such a simple planet.
Just as he began to dust some of the remaining dirt from the granite or quartz exterior, he was struck by an idea, one so foolish he had to wonder how it could work.
Still, he was a champion of crazy ideas, so he dared to consider it.
Springload was a mech who one could describe as… extravagant, both in mission and mind. He required one to go all out, as he never held back in regards to the quest that he'd dedicated his entire life to completing. Overall, he was just an unusual bot. Perhaps, if Quillfire was thinking this through properly, that meant he could be reasoned with through some unusual means?
Tilting the rounded stone in his servo, he dared to believe a simple yet unusual gift would be enough to at least get the two of them started on a path to mending their teamwork. If nothing else, he'd at least get to tell himself he tried. The hardest part would be working up the courage to begin, but hopefully after that things would be easier. He just needed to take that first step…
Peeking over the edge of the outcrop, he saw that the amphibicon was in the same place he'd last been, reading over his map and murmuring to himself. Despite having read it every day for eons, the dedicated bot didn't look the least bit uninterested in his work. If anything, he looked downright eager, as if on the verge of a breakthrough at any given time. Quillfire hoped interrupting him wouldn't cause an even greater rift to form.
Clearing his vents, he found his pump pounding with unnatural anxiety as he forced his voice box to speak up, his servos almost trembling about the stone as he took a considerable leap of faith.
"S-Springload?" he finally croaked out, nearly losing his nerve when the other mech looked up to him with painfully obvious annoyance. Gulping, he overcame his anxiety to speak up and stand tall to appear more confident than he felt.  "Can you… come up here? There is something you must see!"
Brightly colored optics widened, then fixed him with a look equal parts incredulous and irritated. "Is it important?"
"Very!" he insisted, sounding honest because he truly meant it with all of his spark. What could be more important than mending his fued with a fellow teammate?
In a single hop, Springload tucked away his map and cleared the entire road, landing just before Quillfire with a graceful thud.
"I, er…" he stammered as the silliness of what he was about to do hit him in full. Unable to remember the last time he had given or received anything, he was without a clue as to what to say, so he simply held out the stone in his cupped palms with an attempt at a smile. There was a perceptible tremble in his arms as he did so, but he remained strong. "I believe I'm supposed to give this to you!"
Springload didn't immediately react beyond a raised brow, so he stammered forth more of an explanation, spark sinking in his chest. "As a s-sign of… teamwork."
"A white stone?" the amphibicon said at last, as if awakening from a light trance. Taking the rock carefully into his large servo, all while ensuring his acidic coat didn't touch the other mech, he held the item aloft into the light. Just seeing him interested made the anarchist dare to hope things might work out, but in his wildest of dreams he'd never have anticipated what happened next. Springload lit up like a mech beholding a Prime out of the blue, his optics turning away from the stone for just a moment.
"Just the same as those that line the gates of Doradas!" he exclaimed in awe.
Quillfire didn't have any response for that, good or bad as it may have been.
"What?"
"The sacred text makes it clear!" he shouted in explanation, bringing forth his scroll of indecipherable runes as if it made everything make sense. Gesturing to the lines of what Springload saw as gibberish, he began to proclaim their meaning with enthusiasm, optics wide and wild. "You see, here?! The gates of the Holy City will be lined with pure stones to mark the way!"
"I'm…" was all he could reply with, still a million miles behind the other mech in regards to understanding. While he'd hoped at most for appreciation or a mere thanks, Springload looked about ready to burst with excitement, and for reasons he couldn't even begin to comprehend. At the very least he figured he should be happy for the turn of events when he was surprised yet again.
"But how could you know?" Springload pressed, catching him more than a little off guard. Holding up his servos in surrender, Quillfire tried to figure out what exactly he was supposed to have known, and how he might have gone about figuring it out. He'd just thought it was pretty and would make a decent gesture of peace! Fumbling for a response so as not to lose his progress, he was saved by another burst of revelation he had no part in.
"Of course, the spirits!" he exclaimed, almost dropping the rock in his excitement. Clasping his servos over the apparently precious gift, he explained his excitement more or less by simply talking aloud to himself. "They must have guided you, enabling you to find such a sacred object, so that you could gift it to me!"
Accepting he would never truly understand, Quillfire only smiled and nodded at the other's exuberance. More than happy things had turned out so well, he was content to let the other mech believe whatever he wanted, even if he didn't follow it. "Of course!"
"As to why they would do this… they must know you are key to my quest!" Springload continued, using an avid free servo to clasp the other mech's arm in a sign of commitment. More surprised than confused, the anarchist tilted his helm in shock at how fast things had changed between them. Just like that, everything that had happened was forgiven? More than forgiven, in fact, he was seen as a friend and ally? It didn't seem inaccurate to say he was also being looked at as a divine being at the moment. By the Primes, this bot was like no other!
"I was a fool! To think, I tried to push you away!" the amphibicon cried, deactivating his acid so he could better cling to the taller mech. Seeing the emotion in his eyes, Quillfire wondered if he might start weeping, and hoped it wouldn't come to such a show. Not only was he not the best at providing comfort, he didn't have any tissues… Mercifully, the big optics looking into his seemed to sparkle with jubilation rather than tears.
"Ah, it's really nothing…" Quillfire reassured, beginning to blush from the high praise. A spare servo massaged the back of his neck in an open show of bashful deflection. Such a small thing hardly felt worthy of this kind of praise, even for a mech as glory seeking as himself. Not that he was disliking this turn of events.
"It's everything!" Springload corrected, emphatic and no longer impatient. "You must have been sent into my life by the spirits themselves!"
Actively blushing at that, the anarchist looked away, rubbing harder at the back of his neck. He hadn't a clue what to do with this newfound respect and admiration. Perhaps the other bot was just having a momentary burst of affection, which would give way as soon as the next symbol or sign grabbed his attention, but at present such a turn seemed beyond doubtful. Quillfire was being regarded in a way typically saved for the most ancient and holy of altars to the Primes. In the depths of his spark, he wanted it to last.
A distant but heavy sound caught his sharp audials, just as the tremor sensitive Springload perked up in synchronized recognition. Something was rumbling its way down the primitive earth road. Recalling their mission so fast his quills flared in alarm, the anarchist stood up to his full height, catching a glimpse of a truck through the densely packed pines. Their target was approaching fast. Worse, they were in no position to intercept it as planned.
Thinking fast, Quillfire pulled one of his namesake weapons from his back, preparing to strike as the unknowing human drove their way.
"I shall block the path." he announced, redirecting their strategy from before to include himself. Business came first for them both, so each was ready in an instant. Springload crouched low on his powerful legs in anticipation of his orders, which came just as the truck began barreling down the final stretch in their direction, multiple tons on a solid course they needed to stop. "You, render it motionless once it is stopped."
An agreeable ribbit communicated hearty understanding in the final moments before their strike.
While massive by earth standards, the truck was small enough for Quillfire to plan his moves without much of a risk. Still, he was careful in his timing, as the cargo was as valuable as it was delicate. Any great crash would render it useless. Their success hinged on him being precise more than cautious, so he waited for the perfect amount of distance to be between himself and his target before he leapt down into the asphalt below.
Well practiced using his own weapons, he tossed his quill just ahead of the already braking truck, funneling their path to the point of nonexistence. With nowhere to go, the driver was forced to slam on the brakes and skid to a stop, not having the option to go around or turn back. Quillfire smirked in pride at the human's textbook reaction, and could have sworn he heard Springload give a cheer at his victory. Near victory, that was, there was still one crucial step for them to see through.
"Now!" he ordered as the multiple tire sets came to a stop just shy of him. With the speed of someone working on the same page, the amphibicon dove from his perch, shooting his tongue out like a whip. Acid and force popped the tires in rapid succession, filling the air with a series of bangs and creaks until the heavy machine collapsed onto nothing but it's hubcaps. Rubber flew in every direction and nothing even resembling tires remained to spin, leaving multiple tons collapsed on the asphalt. The truck would not be going anywhere.
"A clean victory!" Springload declared happily, still clutching his gift as he hopped back beside Quillfire. "Truly, the spirits are on our side in full. You are their greatest emissary."
Beaming at the praise, Quillfire turned when he heard the door of the vehicle opening up. Both mech's turned just as the human driver jumped from the vehicle, landing in a heap on the ground as he did so. Catching their mutual gaze, the tiny being threw up his hands in surrender, wide eyed and terrified as could be. A gigantic, metallic frog and an even bigger metal porcupine had not been mentioned when he'd taken the job.
"Look, I'm n-not paid enough for this!" he stammered, gesturing wildly to the trailer as he slowly stepped backwards on shaking legs. Giving up the goods completely for his own sake, he unknowingly earned the approval of a certain anarchist. Abandoning one's shackles for self preservation was a key tactic, and he smiled as the human gave them both full clearance, dropping his keys on the spot. "Just take the truck! A-all of it!"
"We shall, your cooperation is appreciated." Springload replied, sounding a bit haughty. In truth the human's cooperation meant little; either mech was fully capable of taking what they wanted without much effort. Happy just to see someone making the right choices, Quillfire praised and comforted the terrified earthling in what he considered to be the best way.
"Fear not, brother. You have been liberated from the bonds of oppressive labor!" he encouraged, presenting the human with a smile of reassurance. Reacting with what he presumed to be unfathomable joy, the tiny being turned about and began to sprint, disappearing into the trees with a considerable ruckus of breaking branches and fussing animals. Screams of jubilation began echoing out after he was long gone from sight.
Waving the lucky one off, Quillfire smiled at the impossible fortune this day had brought him, happy to share it with others. If humans could figure out the true way to live, perhaps there was yet hope for them. He dared to believe as much while shouting after the former truck driver. "Go forth, tiny earthling! Enjoy the freedom we have given you!"
Turning back to the work yet to be completed, he found Springload using his selectively acidic touch to melt through the lock of the truck's trailer, his gift still peeking out through his other servo's protective grip. Marveling at how the other mech seemed intent on believing his truth, Quillfire still decided to let it be. Though happy just to be friends, it was quite likely this was just how things worked for such a dramatic bot. He was surprised how he was beyond accepting of such a concept, and in fact, quite looking forward to it.
As the doors opened, the two of them found a rather manageable cluster of boxes secured tightly to avoid damaging movement. Comfortable as the load would have been for two bots, it doubtlessly was too much for one, yet Springload began freeing it from its bonds with a smile.
"Allow me to carry this burden, great one! It is the least I can offer!" he said eagerly, tucking his stone away into a subspace beside his spark. Cutting their payload free, he began to move the boxes happily outside, no doubt planning to pile them all into his altmode. While usually happy to get some time off, Quillfire didn't feel right about leaving the other mech to handle it all. Their new partnership deserved to get off to a much better start than that.
"I can help." he reassured simply, taking his fair share of the boxes to carry in his hands. Though the smaller mech needed his altmode to handle his share, he didn't allow transforming to stop his eager chatting, and continued to extoll the virtues of his new ally as a happy pickup truck.
"Such generosity!" he praised, putting along to leave the abandoned truck behind them. Though a little overwhelmed by the idea of someone seeing him as a bona fide gift from ancient deities, he allowed the other mech's chatter to fill the walk home, finding it to be far better than the awkward silence that had followed them here. Who ever would have been able to guess a mere stone could change so much?
"I shall have to insist we are partnered together for future endeavors! As two individuals chosen by the spirits, our camaraderie can bring only success!" Springload gushed, turning about happily on his bouncing tires. "Would that please you, great one? I am certain riches will come to us both!"
Though he still had his own dreams, Quillfire didn't indeed find the idea of more missions like this very agreeable, so much so that he had no problem smiling in affirment.
"Riches indeed, my new friend!"

ive wanted to do youtube, or animation, or anything to do with being an influencer, for literally 6-8 years, ive attempted to make videos during those times, or write scripts, or do anything along those lines. but every single time ive attempted, ive had the same trains of thought or the same voices in my head that essentially make me give up before i even start. i have super complex feelings about it and im in a rambling mood so i guess im just gonna vent all i can about it and get it out.
i mean, a huge reason has been because ive been going through absolute hell my entire teenage/young adulthood, just all these personal traumas/emergencies/crises that have made me need to prioritse surviving day by day, which makes taking time to create genuinely so difficult. it makes me sad because as a preteen/early teen, i of course went through a lot of trauma and family dysfunction, but i used the computer and mt creativty to escape it all. i was really actively making amv’s, stories, art, etc. i arguably had more of a following/community than i do now. and im not sure what changed. i think just the general....fact that my trauma started to get more complex and being repeatedly shown that escaping didnt truly let me escape my abuses. i think ive been rewarded for staying low, keeping quiet, staying agreeable and compliant, because anything outside of that has gotten me hurt in the past.
i feel like im constantly swimming with ideas and inspiration, and i have a lot of feelings and need to talk about things. im not self absorbed by any means, and the idea of being an “influencer” itself is not whats appealing, i just like the idea of having my ideas out there and seeking connection through that.
and a lot of the thought patterns i get when i think about creating are a combination of “whats the point?” “someone else has already done it and better” “its an oversaturated market” “what makes me more interesting than the next person?” “i cant handle having my existence on display to others for them to critique and form opinions about” etc which i know are all very self-deprecating thoughts
but they get more complex than that
i think about how much youtubers are under scrutiny, i think about how toxic internet culture has become, and not even in a just way, like i literally cant handle the idea of a small group of people stalking my internet history over the 14 years ive been online, even knowing my deadname or some shit. and ive seen how much people can hurt when they wanna hurt.
i also, in a self deprecating way, just find myself not interesting. i think a lot about how people are constantly fighting algorithms and creating an online persona to get an edge, to grow their platform. then i get into this spiral of feeling like ugh. we’re forced to make a brand out of ourselves and sell ourselves. we lose a lot of our humanity through this, because weve curated a very specific version of ourselves that is digestible and consumable. im also not a confrontational person (due to trauma) and i see a lot of the popular youtubers be people that are very outspoken, cemented in their ideas, and unfortunatly, are in dramas or even seek/perpetrate it. of course i follow a lot of people who arent like that, but they feel a lot more educated and well spoken compared to me.
again, i understand a lot of this comes from self depreaction and pesimission, but i literalyl cannot shake these thoughts every time i go to create something. “whats the point” is a very strong thought, because i feel like a nothing, someone who cant add anything substantial to pretty much any topic that has already been discussed into the ground. it feels very bleak and a big reason ive struggled to even draw or create merch the last 2 years. or bothered with my online presence as an artist. i have lots of visions and goals about where i wanna take myself, but dont have the charisma, motivation, or certainty that i want to.
and i know that being a creator isnt as vapid and vain as im making it sound, being a creator online is just that, a creator. expressing creativity, taking the ideas in your head and sharing it with others. i feel like thats, at its core, why pretty much everyone starts out doing this. but i mean, dont even get me started on the need to monetise off your creativty, thats another big chunk as to why i falter in producing “content”. im just so fatigued, because i know i cant ever been like my 13 year old self again where i just created whatever the fuck i wanted out of fun, bc i now feel like the internet has been...”infected by capitalism” for a lack of a better term, and theres a lot of pressure nowadays to sell yourself to a certain standard.
ironically, i feel like composing a proper think piece about my feelings and putting them into a video lmao.
also just practical issues like i dont have the money to invest in a camera/equipment, ive had unstable housing in the past so production has been difficult/impossible, and i havent had the computer to handle video editing up until last year. siiiigh, just so much fuckery

MSA: Take Two (part 9)
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8
Part 10: here
.
It is Vivi’s voice which eventually drags him back from the silence and inertia. Far off, barely a whisper, it lures him out of the void in gentle waves.
“Arthur? If you can hear me? It would be super amazing if you’d come out and talk. Please.”
Until now, Arthur has made a deliberate effort to disregard all of Mystery’s urgings and nagging. Nothing Mystery can say is motivating enough to break his disinterest. Stubbornly, he has ignored reality to remained cocooned in peaceful silence. He can’t ignore Vivi. Not when she sounds so hopeful.
Arthur steels himself, disentangles his being from the void space around him and follows Vivi’s voice into the light. First comes that crackling itch of static accompanied by the buzz of an energy surge, like he’s a battery charging up. Then comes the emotional sledgehammer, and he remembers exactly why he was so reluctant to manifest. The gang’s all here: regret, followed closely by that deep melancholy, sprinkled with embarrassment. What’s the last thing he remembers? He had been talking to Lewis…then…nothing. He must have evaporated right in front of everyone. That’s just perfect.  Nice to know he can’t even speak to Lewis without having the ghost version of an emotional meltdown.
There’s no time to worry about that though, because, when he finally takes a solid shape, Vivi is RIGHT THERE! She is leaning in, putting her nose inches from his face. She is WAY TO CLOSE. In a panic, he throws himself back. What he electrocutes her! He’ll accidentally hurt her. Just like he accidentally hurt Lewis.
“Whoa, hey. It’s okay,” Vivi also panics, raising her hands. Mystery is here as well, standing at the ready by Vivi’s feet. The dog’s eyes are glowing red. WARNING. DANGER! Arthur should avoid that, the erratic ghost side of his brain unhelpfully informs him while his logical side struggles to processes all the stuff suddenly around him. Arthur lurches back and smacks into something jutting out from the wall. Frantically, he scans his surroundings for an escape route. Soft pastels. Stacks of books piled haphazardly on the floor. Mounds of paper. Scribbled upon sticky notes decorating every surface. He is no longer in the van. This is Vivi’s room. He has backed up into her desk, scattering paper and knocking over a lamp.
/ Did I not say to step back. /
“Quiet you,” Vivi scolds Mystery, attention still on Arthur, “Arthur. Please. It’s okay. I’m sorry for freaking you out. I didn’t think you would come out that quickly.”
“What are you doing? This is dangerous. In case you haven’t noticed. I’m made of electricity which I can’t control,” Arthur snaps, managing to catch himself in the middle of eyeing Vivi’s partially open window. They are on the second story, but Arthur’s pretty sure he’d be able to make the jump. He doesn’t jump, squashing the urge, but it’s a near thing.
“I shouldn’t be near you guys when I’m charged up like this.” Arthur pauses, taking a second to note the district lack of Lewis in the room. It’s just Vivi and Mystery.
“You’re not dangerous. You saved Lewis, and you helped Arthur. That was a pretty intense situation, and no one was electrocuted then,” Vivi objects. She does, however, take a step back to give him more room.
“That was different.”
When he’d done all that stuff, he’d been mostly numb, barely aware of what he was. Now, the emotions are stronger, triggered by familiar surroundings. He can’t risk it.  As if to emphasise his point the light bulb above flickers and busts into a shower of sparks. Now the room is lit only by the daylight coming in through the window.
He points up at the roof and the bulb.
“See.”
“If you were fine then, then you’ll be fine now,” Vivi asserts.  She holds out a hand, “If you’re Arthur. Future, ghost, or otherwise, then I trust you.”
Mystery makes a noise of objection and receives a glare. Arthur glances between them. Mystery’s eyes are still glowing, and Arthur hopes he’ll intervene should Vivi become endangered because the temptation to take Vivi’s hand is just too strong to resist.
Torn, Arthur stares at the hand for several seconds.
Slowly, he floats forward and reaches out. Vivi’s room isn’t huge, but at that moment, the journey between them is endless. She wiggles her fingers in encouragement when he gets within touching distance. A golden spark jumps between them, but Vivi doesn’t react.
He takes her hand.
It is warm, soft, and alive. Arthur is surprised. So far, he hadn’t really tried interacting with anything, being more than content to float around. He had half expected his sense of touch to be dulled, making everything dead and cold, kind of like his mechanical arm.
Quickly, he glances up to check Vivi’s expression. A bright smile. Warm. Vivi is fine. The electricity doesn’t hurt her. She’s fine. He pulls back, unwilling to try his luck.
“I knew it,” Vivi declares.
All the uncontrollable, haphazard flickering his form has been doing, calms, stabilising. Mystery’s fur settles along his back and his eyes dim to black. The dog lets out a very human sigh.
Vivi, still smiling, turns to Mystery, remarking, “There you go. Now go keep Lewis company. He’s probably lonely out in the corridor, all by himself.”
Mystery seems thoughtful, but it’s hard to read dog expressions. /Very well, I concede to your judgement. /
Arthur rushes to disagree, “I would rather Mystery stay…you know….just in case?” He hesitates. Mystery makes him a little uneasy, but he trusts the dog to protect Vivi should anything go wrong. Vivi is more important than his comfort.
Mystery, eye searching, definitely surprised by the admission, scans Arthur. Arthur watches nervously. Mystery’s brows crease, coming to some conclusion that Arthur isn’t privy to, /I will be just beyond this door should you need my assistance. I will not go far. /
Vivi nods in agreement, opening the door for Mystery, who slips out into the hallway. Instead of shutting it again, Vivi leaves it ajar. Arthur loosens, focusing on Vivi and backing up a bit, so they’re on opposite sides of the room again.
“You don’t have to do that, you know. I already said I trust you.”
Arthur folds his arms in defiance, “I have no idea why. You know, just because I’m an Arthur doesn’t mean that I’m you’re Arthur. You shouldn’t trust strange supernatural creatures just because they look familiar.”
Vivi snorts, “I’ll have you know I’ve been researching the hell out of ghosts this last week. Mystery’s been giving me the crash course. This lightning?  Not really lightning. It’s made of plasma, controlled by a ghost’s subconscious thoughts and emotions. Logically, I’d be fine because Arthur would never hurt me.”
Wow…Where does that trust come from? Vivi trusts him more than he trusts himself. Arthur lets his posture relax ever so lightly.
“He also mentioned that, uh, new ghosts are easily overwhelmed and vulnerable to intense mood swings …” Vivi pauses, looking more annoyed now, “I don’t know what Mystery was thinking, introducing us all at once. He should have done it one at a time, you know, to reduce the stress. A calm, comfortable environment would have gone a long way as well. Don’t get me wrong, the van is great, but it’s cramped and stuffy…no offence.”
“None taken?”
“…and who wants to have a serious, life-changing, conversation in a hospital car park? No one thought that through properly.”
Vivi takes a long breath but ploughs on despite a growing restlessness.
“I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s cool if you want to take your time getting used to the whole ghost thing. I mean, I really want to know how you got here? Maybe, why you’re here? If Arthur’s in any danger at all, then I’d like to know.”
"But, you are Arthur, and you’d tell us something important like that…sooo yeah. Thanks for coming out to talk with me…I just wanted to check to see if you were okay… If you want, you can go back to hibernating.”
Vivi finishes with a loud exhale and resolute nod.
Arthur, trying to work through the rush of sentences, comments weakly, “Isn’t introducing things one at a time a strategy used to familiars dogs or something.” Yeah, he remembers Vivi’s brief stint working for the animal shelter when she was going through that stage where she had a new job every month.
Vivi grins again, losing some of her stiffness, “It was an inspiration.”
Arthur takes a moment to appreciate the flutter of amusement, which momentarily drowns out the regret and other more negative emotions. He doesn’t know why he’d thought Vivi wouldn’t care. Just because he wasn’t her Arthur.
“Arthur is not in any danger. Well, he’s not in danger of dying like I did,”  He says. There was no way Lewis would hurt his friends. Not without spending two years isolated in a cave thinking he’d been murdered. Arthur would die again before he let that happen.
A relieved exhale, “That’s good. Thank you for telling me.”
Weirdly, she’s not specifically asking about his death or the circumstances surrounding it even though she so obviously wants to. Vivi’s not exactly subtle when she’s curious. But, then, he doesn’t know how much time has passed since he last manifested, so she’s probably had time to plan this encounter. Arthur’s grateful. He didn’t think a ghost could be tense, having no muscles and all, but he definitely feels himself relax.

GOGOL I WAS HOPING YOU'D REBLOG IT: 7, 11, 1415, 20 do however many you are inspired to
in your own words: thank you for enabling. you reblogged it right before I left for Tahoe and I reblogged as soon as I came back.
Which gaming system that they have used did you like the most?
Scum and Villainy, I think, just based off the consistent quality of the resulting play, but shoutout to Futura Free for working incredibly well to produce the only actually gripping, listenable turn-based finale FATT has ever done.
Favourite divine (or Divine) character?
Hee hee hee. No uh, it’s… it’s just Liberty & Discovery, in the past three years I haven’t changed at all. Order and Detachment are runner-ups, then probably Belgard. I also have a soft spot for Anticipation, which I know is not Encouraged By The Text, but it’s hard for me not to find her a little sympathetic, and I was glad of the surprisingly gentle ending given. Twilight Mirage was such an odd season for consolatios that happen to also take the form of “eternal Sisyphean frenzy.” I mean, I guess when I put it like that it’s not THAT odd
(that said, with TM I was probably as or more interested in Polyphony and the other axioms, not least because they reminded me of of C/W-era divines than the divines did, har)
At what point did you realize you liked the show?
sdgjsldgjs I started with C/W, and honestly I dug the intro and found the tablefriends’ rapport enticing from the outset, but I didn’t get into the narrative proper until “The bells are ringing!” Just. Aria Joie, child of my heart, in the industrial robotics warehouse with the tag “perforated”
(15 answered here, appropriately enough)
Name one thing you like about each member of the cast.
I hope you wanted the essay! Actually most of these are what you said but wordier.
Ali: Ali has a knack for really memorable scenes. Part of it is that she’s willing to play emotional states as serious external events, with the power to override established motives. I think most of the cast are good at tracking characters’ private responses to a scene, and even at examining long-term effects of emotional detritus, but Ali stands out for her ability to weave reaction into action—thinking here of Hella killing Calhoun half out of shame and pity because, once he challenges her, she can’t de-escalate; also Aria at the end of her slaphappy rope asking Jacqui out; also frazzled Tender.
Andi: I like that Andi tries on a lot of different hats, and seems pretty smart and flexible about playing off other PCs/chasing new, specific dynamics; I’ve never gotten really into an Andi character’s individual storyline, but they’re always an asset to scenes.
Art: Art is probably my favorite roleplayer of the group, I know to your shock; I think he’s really funny, I think he cares deeply about character logic and morality and is an influence on the extent to which the other players successfully separate themselves from their creations, and also I think he’s really funny. In contrast to Andi, he has a valuable ability to make a story About his character, not from any lack of consideration, but because the character saw themselves as the ‘main protagonist’ this whole time, with a natural, staunch self-involvement that—brought to light at just the right moment—can set the whole plot on its ears. It reveals depth without sacrificing a pure jolt of “wtf”
Austin: What does one even say about Austin… Okay, if I’m picking one thing: just that phenomenal ability to pull out details by the fistful, points of friction and mental footholds that bring to life an intact environment. He doesn’t always have complete control of scope, but when he does, it’s amazing to watch him slide from the big picture to the immediate, intimate, honeycombed space for action—and juggle intersecting PC trajectories to boot. GOD I want to relisten to C/W.
Dre: I’ve never been able to warm up to Dre as a player, because his characters often exist in unselfconscious isolation from the rest of the cast, without having the depth to support a solo storyline. I would be interested in his attempts to feel out the selfish, amoral violence of action hero archetypes, except it seems to have no consequences beyond (once or twice) a limp telling-off.
Jack: I almost find it easier to talk about what frustrates me about Jack’s playing, not because I am often frustrated by Jack, but because they’re so relentlessly brilliant that it’s hard not to take it for granted. But like. They’re super quick and nimble, they’re equally capable of improvising snappy dialogue and descriptive intensity, and if they sometimes get decision paralysis, it’s hard to hold it against them when you know they really are generating a BUNCH of great scenarios. I mean I hold it against them anyway. Unlock the gates, Jack, I want to hear the best four minutes of the episode
Janine: Janine is another one where it’s tough to choose from an embarrassment of strengths, but I will say that more than any other player she’s good at resisting the temptation to escalate, even when the mood of the group runs high; for all that I love Ali and Jack’s “race to the bottom” approach, it’s always pleasant to cut back to Janine for quality character work that builds to something greater than the sum of its parts and doesn’t hare off after each new complication.
Keith: The exact opposite of what I said for Janine? I love that he’ll go as far as he can on a limb and then settle down to take his new home super seriously, without batting an eye, and without ever backing down on the character traits required to earn both the joke and its savage, unfunny conclusion. Fero is sand now. Keith is one of the only players who I think is at his best in Hieron, in part because the setting itself is so broken and malleable that it’s a relief just to see someone test the elastic.

Music That’s inspiring you at the moment.
There are two things to be remembered while you are listening to music: the mood of the song, and the words of the song. The mood of the song is most      important. Music can create different moods - happy, sad, etc. It can also create a lack of emotions. For instance, Aeroplan by Red Hot Chili Peppers can create any mood. So, listen to music according to your mood. The second thing is the song's lyrics. If you want to be inspired, then listen to the song which has inspiring words. If you want to be motivated then listen to songs with motivating words. How many times can I say words like inspiring and motivating?
You can make a playlist with songs that inspire you to like sad, motivational, romantic, and worship songs.
Sad inspiring songs
The saddest songs are highly subjective. This question is really about finding songs that inspire you in a sad mood, rather than songs that are actually sad. After all, what makes a song sad? A slow tempo, minor chords, and lyrics about heartbreak generally help make a song sad, but that's not a very accurate measure by which to judge. In many cases, a song may be sad to one person and inspirational to another. Many of the songs on this playlist are about people losing someone or something that is very dear to them. For others, it may be about someone who is missing an important opportunity in life. One thing to remember is that not everyone responds to music the same way. If one of these songs strikes a chord with you, it doesn't mean that it will have the same effect on everyone.
Tumblr media
Motivation
It is good to listen to music to boost your motivation. There are many kinds of motivational music. For example, you can create your sad playlist by campus head that inspires you by name of the artist and by alphabetic form.
Motivation music plays a very vital role in our life as it is used by us for various purposes. If you are working in a company then it is important for you according to your boss and also you should follow your manager. For example, if you are doing some personal work then you can use various kinds of motivational songs. Different people have different ways to do work. There are many ways to complete work. You can play music during work. It will help you during your work. You can listen to music during working time. You can also choose some songs which will help you to complete the work sometimes. I always use different kinds of motivational songs when I am doing any work. It will help me to do work.
Tumblr media
Romantic songs
I like romantic songs. Romantic songs always help in getting inspiration. I have compiled a collection of sad songs, which are really helpful to get inspiration and feel proud. Romantic songs are included in these sad songs, which are really helpful for you. Romantic songs are the best way to express your loved one and romantic songs are super hit music all over the world. So for the best romantic song you should download campus head apps from the play store. I would like to share with you some romantic songs that I love to listen to when I am empty. These songs make me so calm and make me feel hurt.
Tumblr media
Worship songs
Worship songs are usually slow, with a slower beat, and often contain a hook or chorus that is easy to sing along to. There are many songs that can be considered worship songs, the most popular of which are often called "worship choruses" or "worship anthems". Worship choruses are usually fast-paced and are for the most part simple to play. They're often played in churches or other venues. Worship songs don't always have to be specifically about, or even religious, but most are.

How do I write an autistic villain without demonizing autism by accident? ;-;
I’m not really sure why you’re messaging this to me. I’m really sorry but I’m not an expert on like.. political stuff about autism stereotyping, just because I’m autistic. And it depends on which country you live in, I know that america has a far more visible sort of cultural presence for stereotypes, due to the whole Autism $peaks controversies. I dont live in america and I’m not super smart or anything, so yeah this is a disclaimer that this is just my opinion and you should probably research answers given by other people too. And maybe ask people about the specific circumstances of what you’re writing, like the context of the setting of the story and what the villain is like, etc. I’d be happy to chat to you about that if you need help! (but again, im no expert, lol)
ANYWAY!
My opinion on the subject is that having an autistic villain is perfectly fine, as long as you’re not villainizing autism. Like...* Don’t make the autism the reason theyre a villain.* Don’t make people scared of them because of the autism, rather than because they’re a villain.* Don’t treat their autistic traits as scary or inherantly villainous.* Don’t make anyone insult them for their autism and act like its justified because they’re evil.
And similarly its bad form to do any of that stuff in regard to any sort of minority really. An example that always bugged me is how Excellus from Fire Emblem Awakening is scary and evil because he’s a murderous monster, yet everyone in the game constantly insults him for the fact he acts ambiguously gay/transgender/effeminate. Like, there’s way too many jokes about people finding him ‘disgusting’ because of some random thing he can’t change, like a sexuality, race or mental illness which plenty of non-evil people have too! It also lessens his impact as a villain because the characters barely even address the actual villainous things he does, and he doesnt seem to have any motive at all. They just ride on the whole ‘the audience will find him gross’ thing as a crutch and forgot to bother writing a good villain.
Oh, and your concerns are indeed valid, yo! Sometimes it is important to think about the context you created a character in, even if you didnt intentionally create any negative messages within your writing. It’s just that the case where a character will be seen as villainizing [minority trait] for being a villain... that’s kind of only in a very specific circumstance? its just that this specific circumstance is very very common in mass media nowadays. It’s ‘The Smurfette Principle’.If you only have one character of a minority in your cast, its easy for an uninformed audience to pick up messages that you’re saying ALL members of that minority are the same as them.If you only have one autistic character and he’s the villain, then you might accidentally be villainizing him. In a world where autistic characters being villainized for their autism is already very common, people could just assume you made them autistic for the same reason all those other writers did- because they think it’s ‘scary’. It feeds the stereotype even if you didn’t conciously intend it that way.
So a very very easy way to fix this problem is just to add multiple characters of a minority into your story, filling various roles from villain to hero to helpful npc. or anything you can think of!
Another good quick fix is to have your villain be autistic, but portray their autistic traits as sympathetic/relateable/a humanizing aspect of them. Not just portraying it as something neutral that doesnt make them scary, but going out of your way to add some scenes showing how they’re just like anybody else. Or even making it one of their redeeming traits! It doesn’t have to outright be something like ‘yo being autistic makes me inherantly good and childlike’, which is a stereotype all to itself, lol. But you could show them experiencing predjudice from another character, in a way that makes the audience sympathise. Honestly having a character attack them for being autistic instead of being a villain would be a good way to do this, as long as that character is actually shown as being wrong for what they’re doing. Or simply showing the villain having common autistic traits, facing common problems, doing common everyday things... that can be enough to portray autism positively. Have them shown doing this stuff outside of the situation of them being villainous. It makes them feel more human and less of an abstract symbol of evil. And because these small glimpses of normality are lightening the mood, they become seen as a positive aspect!
KIND OF AN OFFTOPIC TANGEANT SORRYJust my personal experience as an autistic kid experiencing this story... I personally headcanoned Cyrus from pokemon as autistic. Not because he’s ‘scary and emotionless’, but because his backstory was relateable to me as an autistic person. It’s said that his parents were emotionally abusive, and that he had nobody to turn to because everyone thought he was ‘a creepy kid’. And he was able to find solace by obsessing over repairing machines in his bedroom, and apparantly has trouble understanding people because they can’t be fixed as easily. Stuff like maths and science are kind of a stereotypical Special Interest for autistic children to be given in fiction, I guess because it makes you seem more intelligent when you obsess about that instead of video games, norse mythology, or collecting tiny novelty spoons from around the world XD (Yeah i was a weird kid.)So yeah sorry I went a little offtopic there, but the point is that it might have been by accident instead of intention but that villain has a lot of traits that read as autistic. And when i first played Diamond and Pearl I actually disliked him a lot because of that, I felt like they were villainizing someone who seemed relateable and potentially redeemable. I mean, he seemed pretty depressed too! Give that man some therapy! But when I played Platinum and got to learn his backstory I started to feel like the writers actually did want us to feel sympathetic to him, because of how all those ‘scary’ traits were presented so sympathetically. Like.. the backstory isn’t that he became evil because he was an autistic kid who did creepy things like obsess about machinery and suck at social contact. No, he became a villain because he was abused by his parents, him being ‘weird’ is just intended to make it clear here that he didnt deserve it. It makes him pitiable, it makes him relateable, it makes you feel so much more frustrated that nobody listened to him and saved him from that hell, and nobody even seems to remember him fondly, just because he was ‘weird’. And hell, even his ‘emotion is evil’ philosophy seems very relateable to me as an autistic child. It seems like he learned to seclude himself to avoid angering his parents. That’s the impression I got from his final scene in Platinum, where he finally acts angry at you for beating him, then gets angry at himself for expressing emotion and forces himself to go back to how he usually talks. I get a bit pissed off whenever I see fans of the series claim he actually IS emotionless, lol! This scene made it clear to me that this is just a guy who WISHES he was emotionless, somehow seeing it as the only way to be free of pain. Someone who struggles to deal with his own emotions, or feels like he’s disgusting when he expresses them. And this is VERY relateable specifically to an autistic kid who suffered from an abusive parent! “Quiet Hands” is a kind of common concept that autistic kids might experience, that’s the name for a popular ‘parenting technique’ that really fucks people up. Focusing on making your kid never ‘act autistic’, rather than actually helping them understand things. ‘Quiet Hands’ is specifically about slapping or smacking your kid whenever they show stimming behaviour. (Hand flapping being a common way this symptom can manifest.) We’re taught never to be too loud, and to always always have to restrain ourselves to avoid embarassing our parents. We have to try and learn how to act like ‘normal people’ and become scared of harmless parts of our own brain just because theyre ‘embarassing’, leading to even worse emotional problems as an adult. i mean seriously how is it logical to tell a kid who has troubles with social interaction that they shouldnt even practise it?? Plus its a huge mess to teach these kids to do way more emotional labour than neurotypical kids are expected to do, and then treat them like they’re below average intelligence for not being able to do twice as much as everyone else...
ANYWAY! That’s a thinG! Sorry I went rambling off there about how a particular fictional character touched my heart, lol!I just kinda wish he could be canonically autistic, or if I had similar canonically autistic characters to relate to, instead. So i think having more autistic villains can’t be bad, we’re so badly in need of more autistic characters in general! And villains have a unique perspective of being able to hit our emotions the hardest. I think its easier to cry over someone who has a sad backstory of how they became evil, compared to anything else!So yeah what I was trying to say before I went offtopic is that if the backstory is ‘became evil because autism’, then people will complain. But if the backstory is ‘became evil because someone mistreated them because autism’ then that’s a good way to make people sympathise with autism. Aaaaand I’m bad at explaining this, because autism XD Well, i mean, my personal symptoms and lack of diagnosis til I was an adult means that I’m still working on learning how to communicate correctly, I don’t mean every autistic person writes terrible tl;dr advice posts that degrade into pokemon XDOh man i feel embarassed now, you asked me such a polite question and I didnt know how to answer it very well...I just hope maybe I inspired you to go out and do more research, rather than putting you off with my nonsense!

Hi ! For the past few weeks I've been feeling seriously weak (both mentally and physically) for no reason. I'm totally exhausted, it's like my energy is being drained and/or I have trouble "creating it" and I'm starting to get migraines back. Of course I'm going to do some medical tests, but in the meantime, I'm curious if there might be a witchcraft reason (since I've been practicing more) and/or a remedy ? The entity that follows me is really weak as well, I can't communicate with them anymore
Hey! I’m sorry you’ve been in a bummy place as of late, it’s never fun to feel lost, or to have our muse and inspiration dissapear on us. Interestingly enough, though, there are metaphysical reasons for common ailments and you asking this question makes me want to write up a series on this stuff in the future so, thanks for that idea. ;D Anyways, feelings relating to feeling blah or depressed in metaphysical definition usually stems from personally feeling lost, uninspired and even angry. What in your life is causing these feelings to rise up and take over so strongly? The entity you have established communication with before may not even be the source of these feelings, they may just be experiencing it with you while you sort out the issue too. Like they are empathically connected, and so your clouded feelings at this time is only mirrored x2 by them, does that make sense? They are not the cause of the issue but, they’re also not quite strong enough to help either.
Migraines are a cause of stresses, we all know that but, in metaphysical definition, it can relate to feeling frustrated and pressured into things that make you uncomfortable. Maybe these are fears regarding relationships, the fear of being close only to get hurt in the end. To ease the tension you feel, you need to find what it is that makes you feel so uneasy and why it makes you feel that way and work on letting it go.
I also feel like maybe you have trouble sleeping? If what I feel is true, when it comes to insomnia that means you are fearing the next step. So while reading all of this, you probably even have all the answers and insight already coming to you and your main goal is to work on letting go and trusting in the natural process of things; do what makes you happy and comfortable. Don’t overthink and specifically, don’t think of the worst possible outcome. Doing you isn’t a bad thing. I know it’s hard but, try to think of the best possible outcomes instead. I feel you need to push your own happiness, really push it and work for it right now and I believe that you can do it. None of these things are easy but, help is all around you, and help is right here if you ever need it again. If you want specifics on herbs, rocks, spells etc, hit me back up and i’ll reply privately with more info regarding your situation in full but, I hope this could help provide insight in some way for now, take care and blessed be. x *** Permission to edit in after our private conversation. This info could benefit others and so, we feel it is good to share. ***
If you go into a hedge shop, often times you will see that they sell candle bundles for specific purposes. Not only are they super cheap but, they have all the intention already infused into them that it takes very little effort on our part. Perfect for when you’re lacking motivation or inspiration.
Incantations that have worked for me in the past before are:
“I call to the elements, may you hear my plea, source of universal light and energy, I invoke you now in my time of need, Spirit WILL heal me so mote it be.”
With a white purifying candle and light blue healing candle burning ”Magick mends as the candles burn, my sickness will end and good health shall return. With this intention of healing might, my pain will be gone with the speed of light. So mote it be.”
Are you familiar with knot spells? They are pretty beneficial for any area of magick, including healing. You can check that out here
You can try doing a quick meditation, it’s pretty much just a basic self-cleaning technique incorporating colour magick and chakra balance all in one. I find it’s easy to do when I’m lacking motivation or the ability to even meditate deeply in the first place. Super easy to do, positioning doesn’t matter, just make sure you are comfortable and close your eyes.Take deep breaths, I’ll usually exhale for a second or two longer than I inhale, it helps relax the body faster and is also an easier breathing technique to stick with so that you don’t lose track of what you’re doing. While your body relaxes, visualise a glowing red circle wherever the pain is most intense and allow the colour fade to orange, then to yellow, to green, blue, indigo, and then to violet. Allow each circle of light to absorb the pain and tension and then let it fade to white. Give yourself a couple minutes of quiet relaxation, if you see black, let it be black, if you see imagery, let that happen... just chill out and let the healing sink. Continue breathing deeply as you open your eyes and if the tension isn’t all gone, what is left over will be very minimal.
Obviously, certain foods and drinks can set off migraines like cheese, chocolate, pickles, avocado, alcohol and excessive intake of bread and citrus. Instead, replace these things with more nuts, fish, and green vegetables. Detox with lemon water and avoid caffeine look into Arum metallicum, you can pick it up at pretty much any drugstore or holistic/naturalist shop for under $20 CAD usually. Great for clearing your body of extra toxins and basically rewires your system and encourages the production of dopamine.
Herbs would be Passion flower, Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Lavender, Peppermint and Saffron; you can get these as teas, essential oils, candle scents or even incense. My favourite magickal herb of wonder is Elderberry, seriously it’s helpful from everything to fighting off the flu to upping your mood and even just to help you get a good night of sleep.

It is appropriate to this personality system, as Servers are often happiest working with and supporting Priests in both religious and secular contexts. In the modern world they are found wherever service and support are needed – which means everywhere. Their strongest connection is with the helping professions, particularly social work and medicine. The Role and job are not identical and other Roles also contribute greatly, but Servers are in their element and predominate in these areas. They are naturally Good Samaritans. ‘How may I help you?’ is their favourite question. Service is the positive pole of the Server Role. Servers have the best emotional intelligence and strongest interpersonal skills of all the Roles. They can handle difficult people better than anyone else and are able to alert others when they see something devious or unpleasant in a stranger. Nevertheless, they like to treat strangers as their honoured guests, at least until they show they don’t deserve this (and sometimes even then). They are extremely insightful and shrewd when assessing someone and alert to small changes in mood and behaviour that other Roles would miss. They notice when you’re tired, offer to help or bring you an aspirin and glass of water and tell you to go and lie down, without being prompted. Their motto is often ‘Life is other people.’ They are wired up to be helpful and supportive, so will volunteer for the unpopular job without being asked, offer to do overtime or cover for a sick colleague, give you a lift to the airport and feed your cat while you’re away. However, being on the inspiration axis, their motivation needs to be voluntary and come from their heart.
ELEMENT TYPE: EARTH
Earth: Earth people are grounded, practical, disciplined and focused. They like instruction, rules, and results combined with dependable routine. They are also super organized and clean. In short, earth people are such perfectionists, they are always ready to take on any job or task themselves just to ensure it’s done properly. Even then, earth people don’t feel like they—or anything they do—is ever good enough. While earth people have few friends, they are unwaveringly loyal to those they do have. Earth people are very monogamous when it comes to relationships. They refuse to engage in idle chitchat, and above all, earth people are deeply connected—as you might have guessed—to the earth
