I love kenstewy I do but I still think about when with my mom I saw the first episodes of Succession and Stewy was introduced and they were in the bathroom and Stewy did a line of coke after asking Kendall if he wanted some but Kendall said he was sober and my mom didn't even look at me and said "Friends don't do coke next to recovered addict" and then stayed silent for the rest of the scene. And I still think about it. What does this say about Stewy.
#maybe this is more about my mom than stewy#but yes I can't wrap my head around this#I mean it may have to do with my mom that she is a doctor#first autopsy she ever did when she was young was a couple of guys#in their 20s they died because of heroin I think#she has seen stuff#and also I am obsessed with trainspotting you know#so why. why did he do that line of coke next to kendall#'he wasn't thinking he is just as much of an addict' not that we have seen though not that we have been told#there's something so casually cruel#'he didn't think' there's cruelty there in not thinking about sniffing coke next to your best friend who just recovered#I am haunted I am#stewy you've been ready to lay your life's at kendall's feet#that line. why did you do that line#kendall roy#stewy hosseini#kenstewy#brainworm#succession#tw drugs#tw addiction#tw death

Are you good? I’ve seen so many gif sets from Trainspotting recently on your blog and though I like the movie too, I’m concerned 😭🥹
Hey, I mean, in general the answer to that is no, definitely not okay haha. Not in general or lately actually, but it's nothing to worry about; I rewatched Trainspotting the other day because it's an important film to me, but also just been watching a lot of stuff with @rysko lately. I thought when I got back to Canada I'd be writing a ton but I've been taking a mini Tumblr vacation -- playing games, watching stuff, riding out my new Ewan McGregor obsession (which explains half of my film picks), admittedly trying to avoid the stress of sorting out medical treatment even though I know that's what I should be doing.
It's sweet of you to check in! I honestly feel bad because I know I have a fair few people waiting on requests or more writing for me and in all honestly I'm suffering from a disinterest in most everything and a lack of motivation. Kind of usual for me but it's been hitting hard the past month or two. The things I am interested in doing I can't do because of my health issues and that's also been getting me quite down.
I don't really know how to close this... thank you for checking in. <3 I hope I'm not worrying people by GIF spamming lol.

Closeted Bisexual
I found this in my saved posts, I couldn't find the author but if you're reading! Thank you for all the inspiration!
_______
Hello there! My name is Kristy. And this short work is about my life as a closeted bisexual.
It’s 2023, so many of you might wonder why I hide my feelings. Well, let me answer that. I am the oldest of five children and the daughter of a strict religious family. Now do you know? I think by using the words strict and religious; I might have given it away. But not only am I bisexual, but I also do not want to follow in their religious ways.
Now some of you might be wondering, move out then. Live your own life. Well, that would be a bit tricky since I’m 16 and have no job, car, or any place to crash for a while. My plan right now is to wait till I’m 18, and then go and move in with a relative.
Ever since I was little, I’ve always been fond of a close relative of mine. He’s gay and lives a very happy life with his partner. He visits every once in a while, and I look up to him so much. But my parents always told me that his life was bad. That loving the same gender is a sin. But every time I saw my relative with his partner, and I saw how happy they made each other, that made me wonder… Why is it so bad when they look so happy?
So, when I got older, my parents explained to me in detail, what being gay means and how it is disobeying the Bible. They didn’t bluntly tell me, but they did insinuate that if the relative didn’t change his ways, that he’d go to Hell. I remember countless nights, where I’d stay up and think, and then eventually cry myself to sleep, scared to death of the relative going to Hell. I didn’t want that, so for like a year, I was all religious, taking the Bible seriously, telling the relative stuff about the Bible, and trying to subtly change him. I was always talking religiously.
When I was about 12, I hit a huge emotional roadblock. The next two years were not good, I was depressed. I always have been since I can remember, I have just never been an upbeat and happy person. But I’m never always depressed. But for some reason, I was just so very depressed. I was also dealing with multiple mental health issues. When I was 13, I tried to kill myself on many occasions, some I was close, and some I never had the guts to go forward. I was put in a hospital once, and bullied there, which really wasn’t helping my mindset at the time. I’ve dealt with self-harm, and the scars I have from it will forever remind me of that time. So yes, I was a very messed up teenager.
After a while, I got better. Not totally better, not even now, but I got a bit better. During my late 13’s and early 14’s, I begin to branch out and explore what the world had to offer. I found out there was so much better music than the Christian artists I listened to. There were amazing movies and tv shows, way better than Veggies Tales or some Christian hallmark movie. There was a whole world out there, ready for me to see.
So, I got into Marvel, which was on Disney+, and streamed all 19 movies. Over and over again. Until I could start memorizing lines. I had a huge obsession with watching Jurassic Park and World, again, I could memorize lines. I became a nerd, really, a proud nerd, but a nerd nonetheless. Then I was banned from watching Marvel or Jurassic Park, I was “idolizing” it, according to my parents. When new movies came out for Marvel though, they didn’t have to know I secretly watched it on a made-up profile and then deleted it afterward.
Then, when I was 14, I loved Star Wars. More specifically the prequels. And I loved/love Obi-Wan and Ewan McGregor. I watched a lot of his movies, The Island, Our Kind of Traitor, Big Fish, Trainspotting 1 and 2, Incendiary, Son of a Gun, Raymond and Ray, Christopher Robin, Young Adam, The Ghostwriter, Doctor Sleep, and that’s just to name a few. He’s an amazing actor. Then I watched one of his best movies in my opinion, Moulin Rouge. I still can’t get the songs out of my head today. I listen to the soundtrack all the time. But that movie, is when I realized I was different than my family.
In Moulin Rouge, Ewan plays a character named Christian who falls in love with a woman named Satine. Satine is played by Nicole Kidman. And when I saw her beautiful auburn hair, her beautiful complexion, and when I heard her amazing voice. And when I thought she was so hot, that she was pretty. That was when I realized I was attracted to her character, I began to understand I was different. And maybe… It wasn’t so bad.
I have been a closeted bisexual for two years. I just recently told that relative, and it felt so good to be able to get that off my chest. I was so scared, though, Rationally, you’d think he’d be fine with learning I’m bisexual because he’s gay. But irrational me thought maybe he only thought you can be attracted to only one sex. Maybe being attracted to both is just weird. But one day, when we were alone, we were just talking, and then I blurted it out. And that was one of the best days of my life. He accepted me for me, he didn’t see anything wrong with me. He understood me. And that was all I wanted. After two years, I told my role model and the person I looked up to, and he accepted me. And the feeling that I experienced was one of the best.
Lately, I’ve gotten more bold with showing my pride, I wear a pink, purple, and blue bracelet, representing the bisexual flag. I wear a rainbow pin on my jacket, representing LGBTQ+. (My parent’s just thought it’s a special pendant I got from a friend, but my relative’s partner actually gave it to me, I was little, but I recently found the pin stored away somewhere and it was perfect) Instead of saying one day when I’m married to my husband, I say spouse.
When I was speaking to my relative about this though, he asked me a very important question. When will I tell my family?
I will tell them when I am 18, and when I have a place to live. Because honestly, I’m worried they’d kick me out. My parents are always saying, if you’re not going to abide by our rules, then you can move out when you’re 18. I think being bisexual in a strictly Christian home is breaking a lot of rules. Plus, sometimes they talk about the “man” I’ll one day marry. A Christian man who is like my parents, strictly religious. And they’ll talk about me, a Christian wife, who is below her husband, because that’s what the Bible says, and a wife who is to have children and raise them in the same environment I grew up with.
The thing is, while I’m also bisexual, I’m also asexual. I’m not interested in sex and never will be. I just want to settle down with my future partner, and cuddle. Or kiss. Sex doesn’t define a relationship, love does. And sex is not the only way to show you love someone. Another thing is, my parents know I’m asexual, but they still talk about it. They tell me I’ll grow out of it, and that in the Bible, it is said that the woman shall become one with a man, and bear him children.
And that’s hard to hear. One, because I don’t want that, but apparently, my feelings on sex don’t matter, it’s my duty to my “husband.” I thought this whole women-serving men thing ended a while ago but I guess not. And second, them telling me I’ll grow out of it, that’s the last thing I ever want to hear. It’s not a stage, and more people need to realize that. It’s their sexuality, and it needs to be brought to awareness. The thing is, through the years, PRIDE is bringing all of this to awareness and I am proud to support it and be a part of it.
I’m proud to be bisexual. I’m not scared of it. Not anymore. And one day, when I do decide to tell my parents, I’ll still be proud to be bisexual.
My dream is to one day be in a relationship with an amazing partner, maybe we adopt children, or we don’t. I just want to be happy with who I am and not hide myself.
But, happiness has a price, because when I decide to embrace myself, I’ll lose everyone but my relative and his partner. I’ll lose my family and my friends. All my friends are devout Christians, I already know their feelings on this, it’s not good. My siblings are so, so loyal to my parents. They’re so engrained in their teachings. I think maybe one or two would still speak to me but that’s it. My parents are strictly religious, so I know that would be goodbye. I know that if I ever married a woman, my dad would not walk me down the aisle. And that really breaks my heart.
I love my family so much. More than they will ever know. Even though they don’t like people who are like me, I love them. Their my family, they raised me, and they took care of me. And to think one day, that that might be all gone. That I’ll probably be the family outcast and disappointment, truly makes me sad.
But I have to think about myself. And I know that I am totally attracted to women. And one day, I might end up being with one. And right now, as I write this, I hope that anyone out there who has the same struggles as me can at least have one person to talk to. Even if it’s just one, it makes all the difference. I know it did for me. I hope that I can be happy one day and fully embrace my sexuality. And I hope anyone who is like me does too.
And I wish the people reading this all the best in life. I hope you find your true self and embrace it. Without caring about what people will think about you. Because that just makes you end up in a sad place. I hope with reading this, you understood too just be yourself. Because that’s the best you.

Hi Ash!! Sorry studying sucks i hope u kick ass on finals anyway top 3 Ewan McGregor movies that aren't velvet goldmine go
haiiii asha ty i am hoping for the best. okay MOVIES (and i am not judging these objectively i am going with personal vibes rn):
1. moulin rouge! - it's campy! it's sickeningly sweet and romantic! it has ewan singing, what more do you want! el tango de roxanne one of the most movie scenes of all time. also this movie is the type of tragedy where the characters know the ending is coming but it's their attempts to run away from it that push them even closer what a masterpiece
2. i love you philip morris - im fucking obsessed with this one. be gay do crimes: the film (based on a true story). southern belle + blond ewan mcgregor who falls in love with jim carrey while they're both in jail and the latter attempts to break them both out. it's happy and kind of dumb but wonderful and both ewan and jim commit to their roles so hard. mwah
3. shallow grave - polycules can be so toxic and murderous <3 ive explained this one to you already but it's just fun to watch them go insane. also ewan's most subtextually bisexual role. plus one of his roommates is christopher eccleston
honourable mentions go to beginners and down with love. also yeah trainspotting IS good

God it’s rlly been a long time and istg I didn’t forget about you!! Last week I almost spent the whole weekend in my bed. My head hurt and I was like a dragon that couldn’t stop breathing 🔥. I thought I got Covid at first but the result turned out negative (thank god) so I back to work normally this week.(my colleagues say I’m tough and I be like:😎)
Harry’s house IS my favorite album (well I prefer to put it this way: my favorite Harry’s album is Harry’s next album🤣). I’m also obsessed with songs from hs1&2. 🍉🍬, the 🐟 song, golden, sott, 🥝…these songs rlly saved my life! God I wish I can meet more people who can go to Harry’s show with me. My friends are more like K-pop fans(but they listen to Harry as well, just don’t stan him like I do). It must be so much fun to see him across cities! Meeting friends, hitchhiked with strangers sounds so cooool! It’s not silly at all!! You makes me rlly want to meet you and go a show or two with you. 🥺
Christmas🎄 is near and I’ve been planning to buy some stuff with my friends. Except for the holiday items, I also intend to put a new 🛋️ in my bedroom. My bedroom isn’t a big one so the sofa has to be small. It’s always exciting to get a new furniture in your house.🥳Well you know what, picking a sofa is not that hard, but picking a sofa blanket makes me shilly-shally. Do you have any suggestions and what’s your plan for the upcoming holiday?
About hobbies, despite I’m deadly busy, I still managed to find some time watching movies. I watched Trainspotting the third time yesterday. Idk why I find it so relatable and I even recite the lines. Btw are you going to see the new avatar movie 🍿 ?
To know more about you, and if you don’t mind, I would like to ask two more questions.
What’s your favorite movie(s)?
Has anything interesting happened to you recently?
Hope you have a lovely dayyyy! <333
M
m, the merry and bright! 🫂🤍
there’s no need to apologise for messaging me late, m’kay!? real life commitments always take priority, especially during the holiday season! it’s taken me an equally long (if not longer) time to reply to you, so we’re more than even 😌🫶
i’m hoping that by the time you receive this, you’re feeling far happier and healthier than you did! have your symptoms cleared up, my love!? i do hope you’re spending christmas well. sending so many tissues and a warm hug. ❤️🩹
a new sofa sounds like a lovely idea! the weather here has been particularly frosty, so cuddling under a blanket on a new couch on christmas day sounds heavenly! 🛋🤍 did you end up picking out a blanket!? i am a bit of a blanket fiend (as i am typing this, i am snuggled under four and a duvet, hot water bottle tucked against my tummy dhfgf). my personal favourite is my harry inspired one with ‘we’ll be alright’ printed on it. a loved one got me it for christmas a couple of years ago & it’s ever so cosy!!!
now to answer your wonderful questions 😌
1. i struggle to concentrate throughout full films unless i’m at the cinema (which i frequent a lot dhfgf), so my criteria for favourites is usually ‘did i watch it the full way through without pausing!?’ – my ultimate favourite is brokeback mountain, which i have watched more times than i care to admit! such a sniffle starter … i got a piece of art commissioned for my bedroom wall & even that makes me sniffle each morning dhdgf! some other favourites include beautiful boy, spirited away, isle of dogs… and monsters university 🥲. i also watched bones and all at the cinema recently and it’s not left my mind in weeks fhfhfg. i have not watched any of the avatar movies, believe it or not! have you? if so, would you recommend them?
2. hm!!! it’s always hard to remember interesting things that have happened when you’re trying to. all of my stories have disappeared, whisked away in the wind dgfgfg🧍my birthday was last week & i turned 23, so that was fun! i went for a walk around the christmas markets and an art exhibition. 🌬❄️ what interesting things have you been up to!?
thank you for your lovely questions and for being patient with me! i hope you have a wonderful christmas, my love! looking forward to getting to know you more by the next one (… and for talking about those future concerts together)! 🫂🤍
seasonal squeezes,
bug 🐛🤍
#merry christmas and a happy new year!#(and sorry if this is a bit messy. it’s 11pm here and i’m so very snoozy 😴)#festive friend 🌨🤍

Ewan McGregor: My Serotonin Booster
[P.S: Upon the time of writing, I have yet to watch most of his films including The Island, Beginners, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Trainspotting along with some of his series/documentaries including Fargo, Long Way Round and Long Way Up]
I have known many celebrities who has given me happiness these past few years, but it was during quarantine when I needed someone the most. Don’t get me wrong though, many of the people whom I discovered during the start of quarantine still provides me happiness until now, the only difference being that there is a specific someone who really provides me the dose of serotonin that I really hunt and yearn for, that specific someone being Scottish actor Ewan McGregor.
Before I get to the cheesy part (I guess), let me narrate the timeline on how I found my happiness in him.
I first saw him as the debonair bronze candelabra Lumiere who sang the iconic song “Be Our Guest” in 2017’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. I instantly found Lumiere charming and cute in that film and him being head over heels in love for Plumette (played by the gorgeous Gugu Mbatha-Raw) is so cute and adorable, not gonna lie. Also, a moving candelabra singing and dancing in the middle of your dinner table is such a cute visualization, don’t you think?
A year later, Ewan then brought me back to childhood nostalgia through the lens of Christopher Robin, where he played the titular character. Seeing that film for the first time and watching him interact with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and the other characters in the Hundred-Acre Wood has awakened the child in me. I honestly melt everytime I hear Pooh’s voice (voiced by Jim Cummings) since that voice was what made Pooh one of the cutest bears in the world of cartoons. Also if you observe in the film, there was a scene where he (Christopher) twirled his umbrella like a lightsaber when trying to "kill" a “Heffalump”. That scene kinda made me giggle and also made me think if it was just Ewan’s muscle memory or not.
Fast forward 3 years later to the current year of 2021, I have made a galactic discovery through Star Wars (yes, I know, I’m so late to the rave but hey, better late than never, right?) and through this galactic discovery, I met the sassiest, kindest, strongest and iconic Jedi warrior Obi-Wan Kenobi. I honestly applaud both Ewan and Sir Alec Guinness for their portrayals of the live-action versions of Obi-Wan as well as James Arnold Taylor and Stephen Stanton who voiced Obi-Wan in the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels.
Now, believe me when I say that I fell in love with the animated Obi-Wan first because of The Clone Wars. Falling in love with the animated version then made me fall for the live-action version which Ewan portrayed flawlessly. It was really obvious in Ewan’s performance as Obi-Wan how much he paid homage to the Obi-Wan of Sir Alec Guinness and I really admired that. Plus, the iconic (and meme-worthy) lines are utterly unforgettable and it made me so happy to hear that he’s coming back as Obi-Wan in his own series on 2022. It was honestly through the character of Obi-Wan where I really started to love Ewan and because of this, I started to dig and binge some of his past and recent work.
Now armed with the yearning to look for and watch more of his movies, I scoured the internet and I found Birds of Prey among the list of his movies. First of all, I was utterly surprised when I found out he was involved in an all-female movie, but I was even more surprised when I found out that he was playing Roman Sionis, a.k.a Black Mask, who is the main villain in the movie. Truth be told, I have a history of loving villainous characters and he was no different. I honestly found him convincing as a villain, egotistical at best and was kind of saddened when he *spoiler alert* died at the end. I was hoping he would come back in a somewhat miraculous way, but I could accept if that’s how his story ends.
After watching Birds of Prey and witnessing him play a villain, I delved into the world of fashion design through the lens of Halston which is a Netflix series about Roy Halston, a famous fashion designer back in the 70s. Ewan played Halston flawlessly, and while some scenes made me cover my eyes because of explicit content, I still enjoyed the show overall not only because of Ewan but because I got to understand what Halston was really like behind the curtain, if you’d like.
Now, I am not the biggest horror movie fan but I faced my fear when I met Doctor Sleep himself, Danny Torrance. Considering that this is the sequel to “The Shining” which is deemed the scariest horror film ever made, I braced myself for it to be horrifying and I would be jumping out of my skin while watching it, and I did in several scenes. I applaud Ewan for playing the grown-up version of Danny and making me understand his story through this film.
After that horror experience, I decided to watch something that speaks to my heart and that is a movie with music, and Moulin Rouge was the perfect one. Now, this movie is highly recommended for every Ewan McGregor fan, because he showcases both his acting chops and his powerful vocals in this movie. I instantly fell in love with the penniless writer Christian, his sweet smile, kind spirit and utter obsession with the idea of love. Also, those songs he sang with Satine (played by the angelic soul that is Nicole Kidman) are automatic auditions to my playlist. Also, that drama at the end when Satine died and Christian was grieving, it made me tear up indeed.
After drama comes more drama, I went into a real-life story and that is The Impossible where he played Henry who is the husband to Maria (played by Naomi Watts) and father to 3 kids, one of them being my favorite Spiderman Tom Holland. Believe me when I say that the movie pulled at my heartstrings, especially after the tsunami hit and the family got separated as well as the scene where Henry (Ewan) was at this one camp and he was speaking on the phone while crying. I really felt the “dad” emotions there, knowing that he is a dad in real-life. This movie, even though you are a fan of Ewan and Tom, is not for the faint of heart.
The latest addition to my list is the knight-in-shining armor that is Elmont from Jack the Giant Slayer. He is a feisty one, let me tell you that. He does not give up easily and boy, does he look hot with that crossbow. Anyways, him as Elmont was a fantastic casting, showcasing the selfless persona of a knight who was willing to protect his kingdom above all else. The mini swordfights in between serve as bonuses.
Please do know that I will be watching more of his work as the days progress, but while writing this, this is all that I have seen.
Finally, I’m done with that lengthy timeline narration and now, onto the chessy-ish part, because it depends on perception if you are willing to think of my love for him as obsession or just dedication.
For the most part, I can’t really describe how happy he makes me. It’s as simple as me hearing him talk in interviews with that lovely Scottish accent of his, hearing him sing covers of songs and seeing his pictures on Pinterest (I have about a hundred of him on a board on the app, along with a few Star Wars characters) and the internet in general or it’s as bizarre as me smiling when I see a photo of him with a silver hoop piercing on his left ear or as scenic (I don’t even know if that’s the right word) as when I see a clip/GIF of him running his hand through his hair. I don’t really know and therefore can’t describe what is this feeling I feel when I see him.
Recently, I’ve been binge-watching his interviews on Graham Norton, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and other outlets and I can’t help but smile amidst him repeating stories and saying the same spiels and all, there’s just something about his presence that makes me feel happy. I’ve also been listening to his covers of songs and him playing the guitar and I melt. I mean, even with his mundane fashion sense, his charisma just stands out for me. Also, his point of views on career and why he chooses the projects that he does is inspirational. I just love, adore and admire him, amidst all the controversy (which I’m not gonna go deep into because that’s all in the past) that happened.
At the end of the day, all I can takeaway from all of these, is that Ewan really makes me happy. With his expressive blue eyes, charming smile, melodic voice, and sweet personality, he can easily lift up my spirits as high as the galaxies can reach. If only I could tell him all of these, but I would just faint and stutter if I were to see him face-to-face. But seriously, given the chance to speak with him, I would tell him how much he means to me and how much brighter the world is because of him.
I’ll just end this lengthy narration with a line from “Your Song”, which is originally sang by Elton John and Ewan sang it beautifully in Moulin Rouge and is now one of my favorite songs.
“How wonderful life is, now you’re in the world”

Who am I?
9th December 2020
Background
My name is Nathan James Gordon Livingston i was born on October 3rd 1995 in Rutherglen and was brought up in the Schemes in the East End of Glasgow i lived in Castlemilk and West Whitlawburn up to the age of six.
I moved to the Village of Carmyle when i was six and i have lived there ever since.
Carmyle is a place that i have always been very fond of from a young age my earliest memories took place there and it was where my mum and her four younger sisters grew up.
I come from a large Catholic family I have my mum and stepdad, my younger sister, my grandparents, five aunties, two older cousins and four younger ones. I am the only one in the family who was brought up as Non Denominational and i consider myself as a very God fearing individual.
I was diagnosed with Autism at the age of five.
I went to Bannerman High School which is in the Baillestion area of Glasgow i was a pupil there between 2007 and 2013.
During my time at secondary school i acheved high grades in Woodwork and Art and Design, i really enjoyed woodwork and metalwork so i did a taster course in Construction crafts at City of Glasgow College during my third and fourth year and i had plans to leave school and do an apprentiship for City Building.
On the other hand i loved painting and drawing in Art and Design i felt it was very enjoyable and relaxing subject in school.

Many of you will know that i have a very broad taste in music i am very much a fan of british music from the 80s and 90s, I like a lot of british rock bands such as Simple Minds, New Order and The Smiths to name but a few.
A lot of these bands emerged working class areas within cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, London and Glasgow between in the 1970s starting off in the punk rock scene and as we moved into the 80s and 90s they developed into more modern rock/elctronic type bands and other sucessful bands such as Oasis and The Verve came onto the scene. 91. You accidentally eat some radioactive vegetables. They were good, and what’s even cooler is that they endow you with the super-power of your choice! What is that power?
Telekinesis. That way, shit will still get done when I’m having a lazy day.

panetone, moodboard, space, storms, marble :D xx
Thanks for asking
pantone: describe a person close to your life in detail.Let me describe to you my best friend @analphobia, or Jason as he’s known literally everywhere else. He’s perpetually dressed in black, sometimes XL sized t-shirts for bands he doesn’t even like just so he doesn’t grow out of them and have to go shopping again. He smokes hand-rolled cigarettes outside charity shops while I browse through the stacks of records. He sends stream-of-consciousness drunk messages about cheesy pop music and aesthetics and gender politics and then doesn’t understand what they mean when I ask the next day. He doesn’t eat meat just to spite his mother. He works in a job he loves in his little town and I can’t work out what he does but I’m happy for him. He’s on his second attempt at earning a degree and still gets stressed out about last minute essays.
moodboard: do you feel you had a happy childhood? For sure, I can’t really think of anything bad happening. We went on holidays and I had my hobbies and my friends and it was all pretty good.
space: do you have a desk/workspace and how is it organised/not organised? Not at home but I do have my own desk at work which I attempt to keep organised but that goes downhill throughout the day. I have my computer in the middle (the best computer on the pod because it’s a real desktop and not a slim terminal with a widescreen monitor and a softphone with a headset that I can play music through) then on the left side there’s a file tidy sort of thing that I keep important paperwork and spare stationery in, at the front I have a printout of The Kiss by Gustav Klimt that peeks out through the space. I also have an in tray on the left side for people to drop in forms that I put into emails. To the right I keep my pen pot which is full of highlighters, glitter gel pens, biros and black whiteboard pens, and I also have a pack of rainbow whiteboard markers and a set of rainbow fineliners which sit there too. Usually there’s also whiteboards lying around with motivational phrases that my neighbouring colleague comes up with or Drake quotes and there’s usually toys that we’ve collected sitting there too. On the walls I have work related posters (a guide on how to do one of the new skills I’ve been trusted with, useful phone numbers and graphs) and a postcard from Paris that my cousin sent.
storms: you on only listen to one song for the rest of your life, or only see one person for the rest of your life. which and why? This is very hard! On the one hand I am so passionate about music and I love so much of it that I can’t even begin to choose one song to listen to for the rest of my life. On the other hand I could choose to only Jason for the rest of my life but then I’d miss my family and my work colleagues and the boy I like and that would be shitty too.
marble: what is the most important thing to you in your life right now?In terms of obsessions and passions my number one thing at the moment is Trainspotting; I’ve been heavily into it for the last three months and I’m still in that honeymoon phase where I have to know everything about it. In terms of ‘real’ things, probably just going to work and seeing the couple of people in the office who I love the most, when the three of us get together for a little chat we usually end up crying with laughter and I love that.

Danny Boyle talks 'Trainspotting' and why 'T2'
It doesn't seem like it's been twenty years since "Trainspotting" took over popular culture and music back in the 90's, but you can see it has in the more mature faces of director Danny Boyle and the cast. Boyle shocked audiences, and his career took off from there landing him from one interesting film project to another. Some worked, some didn't, but you knew this one director who didn't want to be shoved into the Hollywood genre box. Now the sequel to the 1996 cult classic has arrived, but director Boyle admits it wasn't without a few obstacles, like any good film, including quite a bit of time passing and how fans would react. Plus, there was that 16-year estrangement he had with Ewan McGregor. This rift came about when Boyle chose Leonardo DiCaprio over McGregor for his thriller "The Beach" back in 2000. The two had been working together steadily since the 1994 indie hit "Shallow Grave," and went into 1997's "A Life Less Ordinary." The two never spoke about it and twenty years has made them realize the value of the time they lost. "Trainspotting" took audiences deep inside the alluring, unsettling world of young, Scottish, Iggy Pop-loving heroin junkies and director Danny Boyle is feeling reflective. Since his massively successful second feature film, Boyle has won an Oscar, directed the Opening Ceremony of the London Summer Olympics and made a point not to repeat himself. But "Trainspotting" was different. It not only launched his career, but boosted that of his actors - Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle. And after two decades, author Irvine Welsh, screenwriter John Hodge and Boyle knew they had something tangible to work with: Mortality. Boyle talks about how he got the original cast back together and how "T2" is even more personal than the first. It's been twenty years since Trainspotting so why do a sequel now? "Trainspotting" was a big hit, but there was no talk about making a sequel then. I don't know if the business was a bit more naive, because now if you have a hit, everyone would be going, "Can you do another one, maybe set it in Amsterdam?" Irvine wrote a book seven years later after the film. We did look at that, and we did try to adapt that. We didn't do very well with it. And then 20 years later loomed on the horizon as a possible last opportunity for an anniversary and we got together, and something more personal emerged. Were you and the cast nervous about how fans would react after twenty years? Everybody was the same. Everybody had that moment of thinking, 'Is this a good idea? We could get absolutely killed here! We could be literally roadkill! Cinematic roadkill!'" It’s dangerous to reuse that, but it’s also an incredible power that you have, if you can approach it again, because you’re literally making a personal film for people. You’re not just making a spectacle that they can watch. You’re making something they feel involved in. What happened to make it more personal? It's a much more personal film than the first film, because it's about aging and men aging. In your 20s, you don't care about consequences. It's reckless. They get to their mid-40s and they have to atone for what they've done and realize that time doesn't care about them. Did the characters change much from when we last saw them? We see that Sick Boy (Johnny Miller) still has the same bleached hair. That was me. Jonny wanted to have a shaved head. I said, "I literally can't make the movie unless Sick Boy has the same hair." It's a distillation of why men are so bad at aging. They will do anything. Women get such flak about age and time, but women age much more sensibly than men. They understand. Men just ignore it. "I am 25. I am still attractive!" Just how hard was it to get the original actors back on board? No, I knew when we got the script. I sent it straight to them, and I knew they'd do it. I said, "Look, we're going to do it like we do the first film. You'll all be paid the same. I don't want any agents or managers involved in any discussions. You come back and you make this because the original did so much for all of us individually and we owe it to the town, Edinburgh, where the stories originate, and you will not get a better script than this anyway in your other careers." And they all agreed. I knew they would. Sometimes you have to go back home to learn new things about yourself. Did this happen for you too? I have a philosophy of trying to do something different every time, which is stubbornly awkward and deliberate. I'm not sure how natural it is but that's what I do. I try to do something different, a different tone, a wildly different subject matter. But this you have something that you have to refer to. And it cross breeds with this other obsession I have, and I think that the tendency to try to do something different is a product of this, which is: I think your first film is your best film always. And I look at other directors and think they'll never be that good again. You don't know all the skills. It's such a cunning, technical medium, film, and once you access those skills you become a technician. And when you don't have them you're just a wanderer. And it can go badly wrong, but if you're lucky and it works, it's magical. While Trainspotting was more about looking ahead and the enthusiasm of youth, T2 seems to be more about looking back and that frustration of middle-age. Men are very, very guilty of that. We always do it. We’re so much worse at aging than women! Women get such a hard time about aging but actually, women are very sensible about aging. That biological clock, they absolutely measure out time. Men are like, ‘No, I feel 32!’ It’s a terrible inability to take on board the line of time. Time hasn't changed much for many of the characters, but Renton (Ewan McGregor) looks to have aged the best of the gang. The point about Renton, and we were aware of this, of the four he’s aged the best. But internally, it’s a different matter At one point, Sick Boy accuses Renton of being “a tourist in his own youth” – and T2 flirts with nostalgia for the past that has become increasingly widespread in the era of YouTube where it’s all too easy to remind ourselves of things from our childhood. That’s when nostalgia becomes really terrible when you wallow in sentiment. It has a negative energy, I think, whereas a film needs a positive energy, always needs that momentum pushing it forward. After 16 years of silence, Ewan McGregor and yourself seem to have patched things up. Knowing about the rift, T2 almost feels like an homage to what happened with its themes of opportunity and betrayal. All sorts of things had gone on. You think, ‘That’s not the film, it’s our relationship! There's the scene in T2 where Renton sees Sick Boy who beats the crap out of him with a pool cue. That’s what Ewan and I should’ve done,” he chuckles. “Got it over with and had a big hug afterwards. It was real as well. He was very hurt. I was very sorry, and we weren’t saying those things directly to each other – we should’ve done – and then he was very gracious. So, the big question, of course. Why "T2"? When we started, everybody said, "It's going to be called 'Trainspotting 2.'" And I was like, "No, this is its own film. I don't want you just deciding it's a sequel. We're going to not even have 'Trainspotting' in the title." You could see them going, "What the ... how are we going to market that?" The original title was a terrible title. It was called "The Least Unfamiliar." You want the film to have its own identity, so if you want to move away totally from the first film, you can. You don't want to be chained to the first film, even though you are. You know you're going to have to give in eventually, and we did give in at some point. I said, "Well, if you ask these characters what they would call their sequel, they would call it 'T2' because their favorite sequel is 'Terminator 2' and they are the type of people who would love to both honor James Cameron and piss him off at the same time. So we called it "T2." And they added "Trainspotting," of course, because, they could.

@funeral-wave tagged me to put my music on shuffle and share the first 10 songs that come up. Can’t guarantee any of this won’t be rubbish.
1. New Order - Face Up - definitely not rubbish; used to be my ringtone for a good few years. I love Low-Life.
2. Stevie Nicks - Stand Back - didn’t even hear this version until fairly late, having only heard the Linus Loves version. It’s a classic synthpop song though IMO.
3. Pixies - Dig for Fire - reminds me of being back in halls in 2006. I remember getting lost in the Meston Building with this in my head. Kind of wish I took Chemistry back in the day. But never mind that.
4. Radiohead - Bullet Proof (I Wish I Was) - kind of reminds me of being a depressed 19-year-old. I still empathise with the song, and it’s one of my favourite ‘90s alt rock songs. Shuffle is being good to me so far.
5. Blondie - Call Me - always loved Blondie - my parents used to play the best of Blondie when we were going in the car to a nearby town, for the garden centre, so they remind me of that. Also, they used to play Blondie a lot on French radio stations when I was there in ‘08 - ‘09. I know I go on about it a lot, but I’ve not done anything as exciting since so it’s inevitable.
6. Prefab Sprout - King of Rock and Roll - I’m turning into Radio 2 a bit here. It’s a solid ‘80s pop song about a washed-up pop star who thinks himself to be like Elvis, but isn’t really. I like it. Maybe not cool, but neither am I.
7. Blondie - Heart of Glass - see above, but what a song!
8. The Cure - Fire in Cairo - kind of reminds me of reading L’étranger in 6th year, when I was first getting into The Cure. Killing an Arab kind of tied into it in a way. That album always feels like it’s part of a past that I was never part of, but still feel connected to somehow. Sounds like rubbish, but there you go.
9. Macintosh Plus - ECCO etc. - GPM seems to know I like this album. I just feel really relaxed and nostalgic when I hear it. I don’t care if it’s meant as a joke; I just like the way it sounds. It’s like another past that I wasn’t really part of but still observed. Hard to explain. But it’s good.
10. New Order - Temptation - I love this. I put it on the mixtape I gave my ex 5 years ago, and it’s just close to my heart in general. I first heard it when I watched Trainspotting when I was 18, when I was a bit obsessed with Joy Division and New Order, and I’ve not stopped liking it. I don’t own it on vinyl yet but I will soon.
Thanks for tagging me!
