Bakugo wasn’t exactly… unaware of the fact that he gets a little bit in his head about you. It took him months to finally get settled into a relationship mindset without losing his sense of cool (being so in love with you, that is)… but then, suddenly, you’ve been dating for a year or so and have asked him to pick up some essentials for you at the pharmacy… and it turns out, in the meantime of his early-relationship-anxious-bliss, he forgot to actually pay attention to the little things about you (he doesn’t know what deodorant you wear).

♢ in the hustle and bustle of the devildom on the weekends, you always find yourself pushing through crowds in the street markets to buy groceries for the week. after being bumped into for the umpteenth time, you decide to let your step fall behind lucifer’s, that way if you were to be separated you could still see his large head above the crowd and make your way back to him. sensing your presence move from beside him, lucifer stops walking turning to look at you. “make sure not to get lost” he puts a light hand on the small of your back to guide you in front of him as to not lose sight of you. occasionally, you’ll feel his hands on your shoulders moving you forward without letting you stray from him.
♢ you and mammon sit shoulder to shoulder staring at the black screen of his ddd. there wasn’t any reason to be nervous, but mammon was anxiously awaiting to hear from his agent if he had booked a new gig—an small role in a new d-drama. the acclamation was one thing, the money another, mammon hadn’t stopped talking abt it since his audition. finally his screen lit up: an email notification. he opened it slowly and yelled “we did it!!! we did it! oh man, you’re my good luck charm we gonna be so rich!!!!” he threw his arms around you and jumped in a circle, mammon’s happiness is your happiness as well.
♢ in front of the computer screen, one hand on the mouse other on the keyboard, levi kept giving you directions on where to go and what to do even though he said he would let you play the game yourself. “wait, wait if you turn around and walk through tht wall there’s a secret cave full of ss grade items! no, no turn around argh” he puts his hand on your shoulder and points in the opposite direction in which you were moving “literally it’s a wall covered in vines. i found it on accident my seventeenth time playing through it hahahah that was the round i completed the fastest…” his story is much harder to follow when his voice is this close to you, but you never want to miss his words.
♢ many food ingredients in the devildom remind you of things you can find back home in the human realm, so you decide to try and recreate a meal you already know. while stirring the pot, you feel someone approach you from behind “hmm? what is it that you’re making?” it’s satan it’s his head titled to the side. he had placed his hand on the counter trapping your waist between himself and the stove, his other hand placed on his hip in curiosity. his fingers tapped on the marble, his eyebrows furrowed and unfurrowed. you dipped the spoon in and brought it to his lips to taste.
♢ there were so many formal events held at diavolo’s castle you began wondering if it really was so imperative that you and everyone had to attend every single one. racing down the hallway, you hear asmo’s voice “oii your tag is sticking out. sigh, come here, come here!” you stop in your tracks, your hands shooting to the back of your formal attire. you can hear asmo chuckling. “let me see〜” one hand gracefully touches your side, the other you feel down your collar tucking your tag back into place. “this is perfect timing,” he says from behind you, “i need someone to help me zip my dress♪”
♢ without you asking, beel takes bottle from you hand and twists the lid off for you. “humans are so fragile” he mentions and hands it back to you, not tht you needed his help to open a bottle of raspberry juice. with that thought in mind, you managed to spilled some down your chin. are you a child? beel chuckles to himself, putting one hand on the top of your head, the other takes out a handkerchief and wipes it off for you. punctuating his handiwork with a head rub he adds “humans are so clumsy, too.” you drink your juice more carefully this time.
♢ a new cafe was opening downtown! the first hundred patrons would receive a mystery prize and a free parfait topping! while scrolling devilgram you saw the post and called belphie over to look. he places his head on your shoulder to look over your shoulder at your phone. “ah, im pretty sure that’s the same place i was talking to you about last week? when i said we should eat a strawberry parfait together” he lazily drapes his arm around your shoulder. though, you’re sure he did not ask you to eat desert together, maybe he had dreamt about it.

Tumblr media
Jumin
-it wasn’t unusual for Jumin to go on business trips, often going abroad to sign business deal, consult, expand the business... whatever your husband did while away.
-so you found solace in the silence of the penthouse, alone with nothing but your thoughts and the occasional chattering of Elizabeth the III.
-not to say that communication was cut off, Jumin was punctual to the T on calling you every night for a lengthy conversation about the bores of the business world and the frustrations of grocery shopping, but this time something was off. You could feel his distraction in his words, eyes hungrily searching your body as he tried to drink in your features through the screen.
-he was in mumbai this time around. or was it vienna? you’d lost track of his world tour a week ago. he’d been gone for almost a month now, and the separation had taken its toll on the both of you
-so when he announced his early return, you couldn’t help but wiggle in your seat happily at the thought of getting to be reunited with your husband.
          -             -            -
-it’d felt like forever.
-he missed your skin, the warmth you provided after a long days work, the sweetness of your smile and your lips against his. he missed running his hands through your hair and holding you safe against his chest, your fingers tracing absent-minded figures on his skin.
-he had half a mind to tell Diver Kim to run all the red lights, because the fines that waited for him were nothing compared to the importance of seeing his darling, his love, his life.
-Jumin sat back in the car, looking out of the window as buildings, people; as it all passed by in a blur. his fingers traced the leather seat next to him, pretending it was your thigh. oh what he’d have given to have you come with him, but your boss was a prick who rarely let you off of work, no matter how much Jumin had offered to bribe or threaten him.
-the past few days hadn’t even felt real without you by his side, to the point where even his negotiation skills had gone down by a few. His father had chided him, given him a lecture of his disappointment in jumin and his attachment to his wife. he was better off alone, ready and available and emotionally detached.
-perhaps he’d have agreed with Chairman Han a few years ago, but now he just needed to get back to the love of his life and lay in her arms. his love for mc, his mc, had made him stronger if anything, viewing her as an equal in all matters, and often times her viewpoint made more sense to him than those of his own employees.
-the car pulled up to a tall ominous building; ah yes, home. he barely stopped to wait for Driver Kim to stop before he flung himself out of the car, briskly making his way towards the keycard access elevators. the ride up was hell, the taunting his aching heart in their speed, or lack thereof.
     -             -             -
-you heard the turning of the key in the lock and you frantically pulled yourself together, fiddling with your hair and flattening your blouse with your hands in a vain attempt to take out any wrinkles. with a loud thump, the door swung open to reveal your husband, tie barely hanging around his opened button up, the look of pure exhaustion in his eyes.
-he strode towards you confidently, cutting off your beginnings of a sentence with a strong hug, pushing you back against the wall in a tight embrace. You immediately sunk into him, wrapping your arms around his waist, pulling him closer to you.
-jumin buried his face in the crook of your neck, sighing in relief. he caught his breath for a second before whispering out an almost teary, “I missed you.”
-you pulled back to look at his face, caressing his cheek gently with your hand. He shivered, and suddenly he felt like he had felt 4 years ago, meeting you for the first time; heart on his sleeve, completely vulnerable to you
-his senses felt heightened, and every touch sent an electric shiver down his spine to his core, revitalizing him like nothing ever had. he stared at you with that same hungry stare he had a few days ago, now with new intent. he wasn’t going to go there though, not yet.
-you smiled, placing a chaste kiss on the tip of his nose. “How was your trip my love?” you asked softly, tracing your fingers against the back of his jacket, arms still wrapped around him. jumin almost forgot how to speak, entranced in your loving embrace. you looked at him with a warm smile, registering the fact that his brain had turned into a continuous string of monotonous elevator music.
-breathing out an almost silent “yeah,” in response, he leaned in slowly, almost uncertainly to kiss you. closing the gap between you, you met his lips with your own, trying to explain your longing through actions, sliding your hands up his back, securing them on the back of his neck. with a shiver, he deepened the kiss, dipping you backwards only slightly, placing his hands on the small of your back, keeping you safe. he was here with you finally. he was going to be okay.
bonus!! ~
-this man demands cuddles for about a week afterwards, needing to know youre there with him at all times
-laying in bed together for hours on end , legs tangled in a mess as you two talk about whatever comes to mind
-its one of the few times where you see him completely vulnerable, without any stone walls separating his emotion and need
-if you’re going out together, he m u s t hold your hand, even breaking his no pda rule and kissing in public (albeit not much, after all he doesn’t want to be on the cover of the tabloids, but enough to let you know he loves you at any point of the day.)
-doesn’t initiate affection generally after his trips, him being filled with worry, “what if she doesnt like me anymore?” “what if while i was away she got used to being alone?” y’all are married ffs jumin, pull yourself together but the enthusiastic response you get whenever you so much as touch his arm is worth it
-promises to never leave you that long ever again, and if so, to fly you out to wherever he is for the weekend or your off days

Jackunzel Month Day 25: High School AU
This is definitely one of my favourites :). I also wrote a one-shot to go with it under the cut. Not sure if I’ll expand it to a full fanfiction yet.
Rapunzel had written a list of goals for the new school year:
Finish the painting in time for Jack’s birthday
Convince the librarian to order new books
Get Jack to wear shoes during winter, or at least thick socks
Try not to miss class more than once a week
The list was written on the inside of the cover of her sketchbook. It was brand new; a present from Jack. She had already covered it with stickers.
It was a sunny day, and her braid thumped against her back as she biked down the street. She passed by kids with backpacks and bright eyes and adults leaning against bus stops smoking. She passed telephone poles with posters stapled to them advertising garage sales and missing kids. She passed by dogs waiting for their owners outside grocery stores and crows fighting over a spilled packet of fries.
When she pulled into school and parked her bike she was greeted with a cheerful “Hey Punzie!” as an arm wrapped around her shoulders. She smiled and kissed Jack on the cheek.
“Hey babe.” Her gaze swept down to his feet and she gasped. “Are you wearing shoes?!”
Jack sighed and shuffled his feet, which were inside a pair of bright yellow converse shoes.
“North bought them and made me put them on. Apparently I get a prize if I can go a month wearing them.”
Judging by his grimace, it was unlikely that he would be getting that prize.
Jack was a beautiful boy with snow-white hair and an aversion to footwear. People didn’t like him. Anyone who looked at him got the sense that there was something...off about what they were seeing. He looked normal, but he looked the furthest thing from it. His skin was too pale, his hands were too cold, and there was something about his eyes.
Rapunzel quite frankly loved the heck out of him, bizarreness and all.
The fifteen minutes before the bell rang were good. They held hands as they walked to their lockers and sat in the library where no one could bother them. But after the bell rang, they had to separate for class.
“See you at lunch,” Jack said.
“Yeah.”
Rapunzel sat down in her Math class. At first, it was okay. People were too preoccupied with catching up with their friends, asking about summer activities and plans for the weekend. Rapunzel was able to focus her attention on the lesson and questions the teacher gave them.
But as the day wore on, the staring started. The whispered comments. The hands shoving her in the hallway and feet trying to trip her. She ducked her head and grit her teeth as the clock ticked closer to noon.
By lunch, Jack was missing his shoes.
“You couldn’t even last the day?” Rapunzel asked.
“No! They’re awful, okay?! I threw them onto some power lines.”
“What about your socks?”
“They’re in my locker.”
She sighed and shook her head. “Y’know, part of pretending to be human includes pretending to be normal.”
“Too boring. Unrealistic. Probably thought up by pretentious old men.”
“Did you go to both your classes?”
“Yeah, yeah. I did.”
“Good.”
Jack was a smart guy, probably the smartest in the school. But that just meant he got so bored. Everything was too slow for him, too dull, not enough fun. Everything had to be fun for him. But they were in high school, so that wasn’t something they were going to find lots of. So, he acted out a lot and got detention. He skipped class when he got bored. North and Rapunzel were trying to keep him in class and out of trouble. Of course, Rapunzel had to try to do the same herself. While Jack skipped class because he was bored, Rapunzel skipped because she was too anxious to be around lots of people. She got in trouble because she read ahead or doodled on her tests and homework.
Yeah, high school sucked.
They found a quiet corner outside to sit and eat lunch. Jack’s daily supply of marshmallows was already half-gone, a sign he had started stress-eating already.
The shining light of the day for Rapunzel came after lunch: art class. The only good thing at high school, minus Jack and the library.
She could sit quietly in the corner and paint or draw and no one would bother her. She could doodle on her homework because that was the homework. The teacher didn’t scold her when she drifted off daydreaming.
Things didn’t stay so good after art class. During English she was able to spare a few minutes to draw in her new sketchbook. After a minute she could feel someone’s eyes on her. A quick look up confirmed it wasn’t the teacher. Rapunzel dropped her gaze back to her paper. She didn’t want to know which of her classmates was judging her this time.
The thing was, Rapunzel couldn’t understand her classmates, and they couldn’t understand her. She suspected this was due to being homeschooled for most of her life (boy it had been an uphill battle to get her mom to agree to a public high school). This resulted in a certain animosity, much like Jack and his being not human.
After class, three girls cornered Rapunzel in the hall and ripped up her sketchbook.
Jack found her huddled in the library, trying to tape it back together again.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “You just bought it for me and…”
“Don’t apologize, Punzie. For fuck’s sake, it’s those girls’ fault!” He wrapped his arm around her and kissed the top of her head. “Do you want me to go track them down?”
“No, don’t. Please. I’ll just...ignore them. I’ll be fine.”
Jack sighed. “Like always, huh?”
Rapunzel checked out some books to cheer herself up while Jack finished taping up the sketchbook. He held her hand as they walked outside.
“Do you need me to walk with you?” he asked. They lived in opposite directions of the school, and Rapunzel’s mom didn’t let her go out after school or bring friends over.
“No, I’ll be okay. And my mom would be upset.”
Jack made a face but didn’t argue. He kissed her and promised to text her later before he took off running. She smiled and unlocked her bike. Her backpack was heavy with homework and the books she’d checked out.
Unfortunately for her, she found that there had been an accident, and part of the road was closed off. The detour to her house meant she arrived home almost half an hour later than she meant to. Her mother was waiting for her. Her hands clutched at her greying dark hair and she glared at Rapunzel as she approached. She was absolutely furious.
“Do you know how long I have been waiting?!” she shouted. “Where have you been?! You could have been dead for all I knew! How could you worry me like that?! Why can’t you think of anyone but yourself?!”
“I’m sorry, mother. There was—”
“No respect! You have no respect for me! You never listen to me!” Rapunzel shrank back as her mother continued to shout. She waved her arms and jabbed her finger at Rapunzel’s chest. She criticized ever agreeing to her going to a public school. She criticized Jack, calling him a bad influence. Eventually she dragged Rapunzel inside and slammed the door behind her. Rapunzel held her breath and watched as she took a deep breath and smoothed her hair. Finally, in a calmer voice she said “Rapunzel, I’m trying to raise you as best I can! But you have to make an effort as well!”
“I know. I’m sorry. It won’t happen again, I promise.”
Her mother smiled and hugged her.
“I know you won’t, dear. But, I do have to ground you for this. Just to your room, and just for tonight. So that this won’t happen again.”
Rapunzel’s heart sank; she had been looking forward to eating supper with her mom and telling her about her day. But she understood and went obediently to her room.
After her mother brought her her supper, she got a text from Jack.

one of my favorite worst things to Think About are the ways herb’s casually neglectful childhood sometimes just....surfaces in the every day world of his life now. and since his whole shtick is my childhood was perfect my father is basically god and i have absolutely no parent issues idk what ur talking abt, he winds up having to flail, having to learn on the way down, and try to keep up a cover that he knew all along. which, usually, doesn’t work, and just makes it all the more sad. here’s a few examples i’ve thought of because i don’t love myself:
someone around the station gets stuck with something metal and comments they might need a tetanus shot. herb was definitely never taken to the doctor’s for a checkup and regular vaccinations as a child, and since he works daytime hours lucille takes the kids while he’s at work, so he literally has never had a shot and he doesn’t fully understand what vaccines are, aside from cultural osmosis, so he asks in telling confusion, “what’s that supposed to mean?” @piper-aileen-lenox specifically, thnx for making me think of this and ruining my life xx
when herb and lucille moved in together (i imagine they were engaged but maybe not married just yet) lucille made it clear to her rather sexist fiance that she was expecting him to tow the line around the house just as much as her, which he agreed to, except when she asked him to do the grocery shopping thinking that was a harmless thing he could do (not like she’d trust him to actually get the dishes clean or fold her clothes so they don’t wrinkle). they almost never had food consistently in the house growing up and if they did eat full meals, they only had the food for THAT MEAL around because 1. herb sr. and ruby (herb’s parents) lived an erratic lifestyle of little to no money or a whole lot of money but only for a second because it was burning a hole in herb sr.’s pocket, and because 2. ruby quickly learned spending money on food ahead was pointless because either herb sr. hecked off somewhere w/o warning and it went bad, or his deadbeat friends hung around and ate it all, so she only bought for that day if they had the money for anything. but since no one was ever around to TEACH herb anything and he figured most things out on his own, herb doesn’t understand all this and he literally thinks you’re not supposed to by food until you run out or that you have to throw out whatever you have left at the end of the week because....... who knows ???? that’s just what he thought. it caused multiple arguments early into herb and lucille’s relationship before she figured it out and explained it to him because he didn’t know well enough to ask.
when herb and lucille’s first child, bunny, was born, he had to be shown how to hold a baby by the doctor. he had literally never held or even interacted with a baby before until that moment. he had no siblings (that he knew of), he had no friends as a child because if he wasn’t the bully he was the target and he was an ass just like dear old dad so no one liked him anyway, and he had 0 other family. lucille realized in that moment as she watched his palpable confusion when she extended their newborn child to him that he was going to have a lot of learning and growing to do. she hoped he was ready for it.
god that time there was a station fam barbecue early into herb’s wkrp career and someone, maybe mr. carlson, is like ‘WHO WANTS TO BE THE GRILL MASTER’ like its a big deal and everyone is like oh it has to be herb bc he’s the newest out of us and hes aware all the men see it as a status symbol and he CAN’T be less of a man than another man bc Ego (tm) so hes like of course im the grill master !!! and then panics for the next thirty minutes because he’s literally never even stood next to a grill let alone used one HOW DOES IT WORK the first fifteen minutes he doesnt even have the gas on rip
when herb was, like, 15, he taught himself how to drive a car because one of his “friends” (peers who was a bully that he called a friend and hung out with to stop also getting bullied but who was still bullying him anyway, herb was just brainwashed into thinking that’s what friendship is) wanted them to go out cruising and herb wanted to be a Cool Guy and not look like a chump so he lied and said he could drive. they got pulled over, because of course they did, and herb got in big trouble for you know, driving w/o a licences. the kicker though is that herb didn’t fucking know you can’t drive without a license or that licenses and road tests and drivers ed were even a THING because he literally raised himself and no one ever  t a u g h t   h i m   a n y t h i n g. anyways his dad got called home to deal with it from wherever he was away at at the time and he got in big trouble for interrupting dear old dad’s work anyways so :) what a healthy family
surprisingly, herb DID know how to cook the basics. grilled cheese, pasta, stir fries, a couple casseroles. lucille asked him about it because he was always such a Gender Roles (tm) type of man who wouldn’t even wear a brighter shade of red than like. maroon. in case it got loosely contaminated with the concept of the color pink and he’d have to change his name and move to alaska. so why was he doing a “ womans job “ (cooking) and herb just looked confused and said “what, guys don’t cook?” she told him that no, they usually didn’t and would have laughed at her if she tried to make them, and he laughed awkwardly and absently stirred the pot on the stove and shrugged in mild confusion. “that’s weird. if i didn’t cook i’d have... starved, i guess.”
the bad news is his cooking wasnt GREAT and lucille was happy to take over because again.........self taught. and he has one (1) brain cell so. not Great
LITERALLY DIDN’T KNOW ALL CLOTHES DON’T HAVE TO BE DRY CLEANED. his dad literally wore clothes that had to be dry cleaned Every Day (and we wonder why the tarlek family was short on the food budget god) (and they were ugly clothes too akdhfjfg) and ofc if ruby washed her clothes, it was while herb was at school. he dry cleaned so many clothes that do Not Make Sense to dry clean in college before he slowly figured that out.
did not know what an allowance was. bunny asked him for one and not willing to seem stupid to his swift daughter he told her to ‘ask her mother’, who thought it was hecking weird that her money obsessed husband would say that, so she asked him why and after several long minutes he just shrugged helplessly and said “what’s an allowance?”
don’t even get me started on herb and lucille planning their wedding ( ‘what kind of stuff should we put on the gift register?’ “put on the WHAT?”  ‘what are we going to put on top of the cake?’ “there’s gonna be CAKE?”  ‘i can’t wait for daddy to walk down the isle with me, it’ll mean a lot to him’ “your DAD is gonna walk you down the isle....?? but you’re marrying ME, right?”   ) also herb not knowing the wedding look of the bride is supposed to be a Secret and barging into the room w a question or smth while lucille and her bridesmaids are getting ready, and everyone is hella miffed and he’s like WHAT i’ve seen her naked before and theyre all like THATS NOT THE POINT HERB
herb did Not Know about seasonal allergies. he just........didn’t know. he just thought god hated him and every spring and fall his head sprung a leak. and the whole time he was growing up no one A. listened to him complain about them and put 2 and 2 together, nor B. just taught him about basic first aid stuff in general for that matter he doesnt know shit. anyways, then lucille was like why are you such a tough guy just stop complaining and take some medicine for your stupid allergies and he was like take some what for my what now
ANYWAYS herb’s mom left while he was v young and he doesn’t remember much about her. herb’s dad was literally   n e v e r   home. the people herb’s dad left him with would work for obscenely low amounts of pay or owed herb sr. money and largely used all the money for their own food, drugs, alcohol, or other more unsightly business, and left herb alone to fend for himself. this is the disaster human that that produced, thanks, family dynamics! don’t abandon your children, kids, thanks for coming to my ted talk

Psycho - Chapter 11+12
Chapter 11
Seohyun was finally discharged from the hospital after a week. She got a part-time job to support herself and she moved into the small rooftop apartment, which brought back all the memories with Jun-seo back. Going back to school like she normally would, dealing with all those people and all their harsh words. It almost became like a normal routine to her. Seungmin would visit her occasionally to make sure she was okay. The two of them never gave up and kept on finding Jun-seo, and they didn't want to give up.
Seungmin: Seohyun-ah, r u free right now?
Seohyun: yeah, I'm done with work
                 : why?
Seungmin: let's meet up
Seohyun: where?
Seungmin: outside the cafe, I work at
Seohyun: k, I'll be there soon
She didn't know what Seungmin wanted to tell her, but she knew that it was going to be about Jun-seo. They both tried to avoid talking about him because he knew how she was sensitive to him. But it was useless because all they had to talk about was Jun-seo. No matter how long it will take to find him, Seohyun and Seungmin both would never give up. Not on someone like him.
-Outside the Cafe-
Seohyun waited outside in the cold weather, which made her hands cold and numb almost frostbitten. She was wearing a short skirt and didn't bring a long coat with her.
"Aren't you cold?" a familiar voice asked. It was Seungmin, looking tired and worn out.
"I'm fine, but I would love it if we go somewhere warmer to talk," she chimed.
"Well then, let's go!" Seungmin said as he held her hands, making her heart flutter and making her go multiple shades of red. This was something she had never had for as long as she could remember. Ever since Jun-seo was gone, nobody had ever held her hands tight and secure, making her know that she was not alone that was dealing with the harsh world. But it wasn't only Seohyun that was feeling this way, because Seungmin too was flustered by his own actions.
After a long and silent awkward walk, they had arrived at a night market. The place was filled with the delicious scents of the aroma coming from the various street food surrounding them.
"So about Jun-seo..." Seungmin started the conversation while holding the spicy Tteok-bokki.
"Yeah?"
"I think this might have to do with his parents," Seungmin stated.
"Why?"
"He's very secretive about his parents and stuff, and that was why we're so close," Seungmin said.
"Ohh," Seohyun said with food in her mouth.
"He never had anyone to talk to and anyone to open his heart out to,"
"Hmm,"
"He's always caring about what the others think that he never had once cared about his own health," he said with a deep sigh. But what he said was true. Jun-seo had never taken proper care of himself when he wasn't feeling well.
"You're right. I should've taken better care of him," she started to blame herself.
"Stop blaming yourself. He just had his own personal issues that he never shared anyone with,"
"Hmm,"
"This might have to do something with his parents, wanting him to take over their business, or that's at least what I think," he said as he took a bite of the spicy rice cake.
"You might be right, but you never know what someone else is going on in their lives unless you were in their shoes,"
"Life is really a difficult thing to understand, isn't it?"
"Yeah, we have no right to say what we want to. It's like it's all been scripted, and we can't change it, no matter how hard we try to,"
"Maybe you could,"
"Huh?"
"Maybe you could change your story, not theirs,"
"How could I do that? How? After all those obstacles that it made me go through, after all the pain,"
"You're not the only one, no matter what goes on in our lives, even if it's the most painful time of us," he smiled, and as he continued, "like a river flowing into the deep ocean, it never stops does it? Just like that, our life goes on,"
"Hmm, you sure about that?" Seohyun asked.
"Maybe," he said with an unsure face, which made Seohyun laugh.
"I better get going. My parents invited me over for dinner,"
"Do you want me to come along?" Seungmin suggested.
"I don't really think that's going to help, but thanks for the offer,"
"Are you going to go to the dinner looking like that?" Seungmin mocked sarcastically.
"No, are you saying I have terrible taste in fashion?," Seohyun said frowning.
"No," Seungmin replied.
"It's not like you would buy me new clothes anyway," Seohyun teased, making Seungmin feel bad.
"I would if only I had more money left over to spend," Seungmin said sadly.
"It's okay. I was joking, and besides, I don't want you to spend more money on me,"
"Okay then, bye and take care," Seungmin said as he turned.
"I will," Seohyun replied as she headed to the location for the dinner.
Little did she know what was waiting for her at dinner...
She was walking down the street looking at her surroundings. Things seemed different for her because of her long stay at the hospital after the horrible thing happened, she was starting to feel more aware of her surroundings, and what was around her. She let out a deep sigh and tried to clear her mind.
Seohyun arrived at the house she was invited to. She rang the bell. The door opened and she saw someone who looked like her parents. She was utterly surprised but she was also nervous and scared at the same time.
"Come in," her father said. She sat down at the wooden chair in the dining room. She never expected her parents to be there.
"We have something important to tell you,"
Chapter 12
"What do you mean?" Seohyun asked with tears welling in her eyes.
"Seohyun, you're adopted," her mother said with a cold tone.
"So, is this why I'm treated this way? Is this why you never cared about me?" Seohyun's hands started to tremble in fear and anger, and she continued, "why couldn't you tell me sooner?"
Those were the last words she said before leaving the house with a loud bang.
Why? Why me? Why couldn't they tell me sooner? Seohyun started to question herself.
She couldn't. She couldn't bear the pain and the truth. Rushing back to the rooftop apartment, she was quietly sobbing to herself. Nobody would know how it feels like, and no one would care...
She went into a grocery store to get something to eat. Just as she was finding some cup-noodles to eat when she saw a tall figure, all dressed in black. He looked like Jun-seo, but his hair was bleached into a shade of lighter brown. He resembles the person she saw weeks ago, giving her chills. She tried to best to focus on her own work, not wanting to bother the person.
He kept on giving glances at Seohyun with a worried expression. Seohyun started to feel uncomfortable about what is happening and took a deep breath.
"Is this all, ma'am?" the young cashier asked.
"Huh? Yeah," she replied.
"Are you okay, is there anything wrong?"
"Yes, I'm okay. Everything's fine," she tries to shake those worried feelings away. Although she was happy that she knew Jun-seo was okay, she was terrified that Jun-seo might hate her. But one thing was for sure. She missed him, and she missed him more than anything else. But she was scared that he might harm her, leave her alone again.
A headache took over her, and she took out her phone in a hurry from her bag. But instead of taking out her phone, she found an envelope. It wasn't an envelope that wasn't hers. She didn't place it here. It didn't belong to her. It was somebody else.
She looked around, but to her surprise, Jun-seo wasn't there. Instead of opening the envelope by herself, she thought it would be better to wait for Seungmin instead.
Seohyun: hey, I'm back from dinner
Seungmin: how was it?
Seohyun: long story, I don't want to talk abt it
Seungmin: u need me?
Seohyun: mind reader, but yes, I do need u
Seungmin: at home right now?
Seohyun: nope, I'm on my way there
Seungmin: k, I'll be there soon
                    : want any food?
Seohyun: yes, fried chicken
Seungmin: okay, but u should stop eating too much before u become a pig
Seohyun: yah!
Seungmin: srry
                    : not srry
Seohyun: stop making me upset, and just come here with my fried chicken
Seungmin: gosh, calm down
                    : see you soon
Seohyun: u too
-Time Skip-
While waiting for Seungmin, Seohyun started to clean outside the rooftop. Making sure things were clean and neatly organized. While cleaning the place, Seohyun remembered the first time Jun-seo surprised this place to her. They used to spend most of their time together in that little space. Seohyun took a seat in one of the seating areas to read the letter Jun-seo gave her. It read...
To Seohyun,
You may not know that I'm here with you in your everyday life. I tried to check up on you when I could. But things had been difficult for me these days. I tried my best to protect you when I could, and I am protecting you right now. I know this isn't the proper explanation you would want, but I am protecting you in any way I could. And that is to be away from you...
I am nothing but harm to you. Without being with you, it's the best way for both you and me. And I know that you're happy without me, you're with somebody better than me. It's Seungmin. Isn't it?
I don't want to ruin what you had or might have with Seungmin, but you have to be careful with him. He may seem kind to you, but he has done more harm than good. I am not saying this to scare you. And not to bring you away from Seungmin. But all I'm going to say is, Seohyun, please be careful...
If I'm the moon, you're the earth, and I could only revolve around you, and only you. And please don't think you're worthless and that you've done nothing good for me. But to me, you're my everything. To me, you're more important than my own life, and for that, I had to leave you. But I'll come back to you, I promised you, don't I?
You're mine, and I won't let anyone take that away from you. Everyone had taken everything I had from me, but you're my last possession, and I'll never let you go.
Only yours,
Jun-seo
Tears started welling in her eyes. She couldn't understand anything he said. Everything he wrote seems so fake to her. She wanted to trust him, and she wanted to believe everything he said. But to her, those words seemed like a lie. The word "promise" coming from someone like him just disgusted her. After everything he did, he had the courage to make her hurt again.
"Hey, I'm here," Seungmin said, interrupting her from her thoughts, but paused when he saw Seohyun crying, and he continued, "are you okay?"
"No, I'm not," Seohyun replied.
At that moment Seohyun's anger went to Seungmin. Seohyun felt very empty inside, knowing every word Jun-seo wrote was a lie. Her parents didn't care about her. Jun-seo had left her. Every single person in the world hates her... except Seungmin...
But little did she know, that person who doesn't hate her is going to change...
