Hello! 😺 For the ask game, Blood of Youth regency au thoughts?

SO I posted the first section of the regency au and then started writing the next one and it kind of stalled BUT there's definitely some dramatic plot somewhere which involves scandal, marriage, and maybe Tang Lian getting shot in an illegal duel. And also Mu Chunfeng and Xiao Lingchen having a dramatic breakup because I accidentally sold myself on their regency au dynamic and they became more important characters than I originally intended.

He freezes in the doorway of used to his mother’s sitting room. Everything is different. Everything is wrong. The deep settee replaced with hard-backed chairs. Dark green velvet replaced with uncomfortable looking gold. His mother’s harp has been removed from it’s place in the corner. Even the table is a different style. He takes a deep breath before turning his eyes toward the ceiling. That, at least, has not been changed from his father’s original decoration. It is a labyrinth of embellishments; a young Ye Anshi had used to lie in the centre of the floor and trace them with his eyes until the housekeeper would chase him off, telling him to take better care of his clothes.

He tears his eyes away before they start to water from the memory. It has been such a very long time.

Blood of Youth recap - episode 33

Xiao Se tells Marquis Lanyue he can’t make a decision till the moment Langya’s army is outside the capital.

Lord Langya wonders whether he can rely on troops who only follow him because of his father’s reputation. General Ye tells his battalion they’ll be part of Langya’s army. The army prepares to march on Tianqi.

Jinyan reports to Marquis Lanyue that General Ye has rebelled.

Ye Ruoyi tells Xiao Se the garrison isn’t enough to defend Tianqi. Xiao Se says he sent Ji Xue to talk to Xiao Lingchen. Ye Ruoyi says General Ye won’t let Lord Langya back down now.

Lord Langya swears by his father to Jie Xue that he will march on Tianqi and take Tai-an hall.

Jinyan tells Lord Chi he’s persuaded Director Zhuoxin to come out of retirement. They wonder why the marquis hasn’t summoned the Wangli soldiers.

Xiao Se tells Marquis Lanyue he needs more time.

Lord Bai wonders why Marquis Lanyue still hasn’t summoned the Wangli soldiers.

Xiao Se and Qianluo play weiqi and he gets metaphorical about not being able to see the winning move. Ji Xue reports her conversation with Lord Langya.

Lord Chi hears Marquis Lanyue has left the city. Longxie tells him his plan is risky.

Lord Langya meets General Ye outside Tianqi. He asks why the other two armies haven’t shown up and says he won’t wait for them.

Commander Changqing tells the emperor Langya’s army is outside the gates. He summons Lord Bai.

Lord Chi thinks Xiao Se is planning to ally himself with Lord Langya and General Ye.

Hua Jin thinks they’re going to die and Mu Chunfeng promises to protect her.

One of the gates is opened for General Ye and Lord Langya.

The emperor waits for Lord Langya on the steps of his palace and orders his commander to try to avoid casualties.

Lord Langya and General Ye ride into Tianqi.

The State Preceptor tells Xie Xuan he’ll follow fate.

Lord Langya goes to the imperial ancestral shrine and meets his great-uncle, who says his father’s name isn’t there since he was convicted of treason. Lord Langya burns incense and says he’ll re-establish the imperial court.

The State Preceptor meets Lord Langya outside the shrine and says he doesn’t want to be his father.

The emperor asks Xiao Se not to let his conflict with the elder Lord Langyue carry down to the next generation. Lord Chi accuses Xiao Se and Marquis Lanyue of conspiring with the rebels. Xiao Se asks if he wanted a bloodbath to give the upper hand to the factions to the lower army and upper army (the factions that support Lord Chi?)

The palace gate is opened for Lord Langya and his army. Jinyan brings Director Zhuoxin in with the Dragon Seal scroll. He says Xiao Ruofeng’s name is written in the scroll and Xiao Ruojin usurped the throne. Jinyan holds up a petition from the officials supporting Lord Langya.

Lord Langya asks his army whether their allegiance is to Lord Langya or Beili and they don’t answer. He opens the scroll, sees Xiao Ruofeng’s name written there and destroys it. He kills Zhuoxin. He announces traitors should be executed and asks if anyone else wants to die. Jinyan runs away.

I love Royal Chaos, but absolutely hate the story. So, in my rebellious fashion I've started to remake the characters of royal choas and it story.

Of course it started with the most hated character. Mu.

First. Design.

That hat had to go. ( I have a problem with that hat. I hate it so much)

This is the new design.

I gave him a bun. Almost gave him a half bun with some hair down, but it made him look like Lord Yi and I didn't like it. It a lot more simple then the original design as with the love birds it's reference in both storys that Mu Lingchen doesn't like to spend much money.

Personal wise?

No anger. Original Lingchen short fuse and makes bad choose. So, I turned that down.

In this he isn't that angry and think thing through, trust MC.

Instead, his personality flaw is women. In the original story, his wives love him for no reason or at least tolerate him. Of course this isn't realistic so I changed it. To fix this, Lingchen is bad at flirting, as in get nervous when he's in love. He just can complete a woman.

Secondly, increase his mummy issues. Both of Lingchen parents didn't like him, and that could of been used better. As in, make him interesting and sympathetic.

In my mind, there would be scenes were Lingchen is talking to his mother (sometimes about his achievements) and his mother strate up doesn't listen or care. Also, more of Lingyun getting all other mother's attention.

This would help give some reason for why he so bad with women as his own mother didn't care about him, so he had little interaction with women.

He also be an supporting brother. There be lot more scenes with Lingchen and Lord Yi, one about Lingchen supporting his brother passion about poetry and holding a poetry competition for his bother to compete in. As well as scenes with Lingxi.

I will go over his relationship with his wives later.

Have finished ideals for Empress and Noble consort, just need to finish some drawings.

Maybe I'll make a YouTube video on this.
